Need Update. I love this app and have for years, but my iPhone tells me that very soon I won’t be able to use it anymore, because it needs to be updated. Please create the necessary updates. I will hate losing this app otherwise.

Still Not Working. I’ve reported this before and had no response from developer. For several months now this app has stopped responding to touch on my iPhone SE (iOS up to date). I deleted it, then downloaded fresh copy, and still not responding. This is disappointing—I’ve used it daily for several years and like it a lot... when it’s responsive. Wish I could find a fix.

Loved this start to my day. I loved opening this app to see what the bird of the day would be. Such beautiful pictures and great information. I miss being able to use this app as it no longer works with my phone IOS. Please update this fun app.

Love it But!. I’ve had this app for seven years, but because there needs to be an updated version it freezes on me and I can’t read the bird info or see birds featured on other dates. It may unfreeze the next day or it might take up to three days. Developer, please do an update!

For Birders and Nature Lovers. I've had Daily Bird for about 30 days. It's surprising how an app so simple in concept could bring such immense pleasure. The photos and the design are stunning, making it a feast for the eyes. It's fun to test my bird I.D. skills each day. Thank you to the designers of this app!

Please Update!. I absolutely love this app. I share a bird of the day each morning at my summer camp- the season has rolled around and the app no longer works because it needs to be updated to be comparable with the latest iOS. Dear developer, please update so we can continue to enjoy this awesome app!

Did the world end on July 29. I've had the app for years, using it as a flash card game with my wife. However, the daily bird stopped refreshing on July 29 and every day is now a Shiny Cowbird. I actually got a return message (!) from Birds in the Hand on August 12 that said they were looking into it but nothing over the past week. That's more than I've heard from my BirdsEye issues.

Daily birds. Doesn’t download birds pics anymore since I.OS 13. Clock work well. Can this problem be fix ? Thank you (Give a 5 stars but 2 only now until problem solve)

Love it!. Minus it's few glitches it has some days, this app is amazing. I read about my new bird everyday at breakfast! My husband has even started asking me what it is! So neat.

Was a pleasant way to start the day. Every morning for years I have opened this app and spent a moment (or many more) identifying the daily bird. The photographs are perfect, Ken Kaufman‘s blurbs are well written, and the links show me where the bird might be found. It’s been my morning puzzle - an especially enjoyable one -and has helped improve my birding skills. Sadly, the app no longer works with the most recent iOS and I had to delete it. It does not appear to be a complicated app but it is one I would gladly pay for I hope the developer Will bring it current. If not, I hope Ebird or Audubon will find a way to fold it into their offerings

Updates. I’ve been trying to update this app and I keep getting developers need to update. Please help I really like this.

Daily Bird, Daily Peace. Love this simple app. I open it daily to enjoy one species & to learn a few new details about a feathered beaut. I think I’ve had the app for maybe 5 years and it has yet to disappoint. It did screw up Anna’s Hummingbird once, and showed a Northern Waterthrush while describing the Louisiana Waterthrush, but over so many years that’s no biggie.

Booooo!. For a few days straight I'll get the same type of bird (gulls, nuthatches, grebes etc.) which lessens the diversity. And I used to get more birds from around the world, but now it seems that there are only North American birds. I got the same bird two days in a row - Summer Tanager. Same picture. Same description. This app really lacks diversity and the repetition is annoying.

So sad. I love this app it has given me so much joy for years and now with the new iOS it no longer works. I would totally pay a few bucks for an update I miss so much my daily bird :((

Love the concept but .... I love the idea of this app but it gets ‘stuck’ often and won’t let you update to the present day or perhaps show the info about the bird, sometimes for up to a week at a time! Also there are occasional errors where a paragraph gets repeated over again.

Daily bird. When a purchase is made for a product, it’s unfortunate that an iOS update renders it unusable. Maybe apple should refund and not the app!

Lost love!. I love this beautiful app, and enjoyed it every day -- until I got an updated iPhone. I'm sad that Daily Bird doesn't work on this newer version, and really hope the developers will update the app. Thank you for the past few years of amazing, inspirational bird photography and excellent information about each pictured species!

Daily Bird WAS My Favorite App. I’m so sad that this wonderful app has not been updated: I just updated my iPhone to iOS 14.5 and Daily Bird no longer works, as I had been warned. 🥲 I wrote to the app developers a couple of months ago when I started getting the warnings that the app needed updating, but I didn’t get a response. I’ve learned so much from this app. So sorry to see it go.

Does not play well with iOS 11.. Freezes, needs fixing.

One of my favorite apps. Each day a new photo appears, usually a striking photo of a beautiful bird. Photography is exquisite. And it reminds me of the diversity of bird life. The photo is accompanied by a few fun facts about the bird. I highly recommend to bird lovers.

I used to look forward to this daily. This was a wonderful way to start each day. I enjoyed Kenn Kaufman’s information about each species, along with the lovely photos. Sadly I cannot use it with the new iOS update. Please update this app so we can enjoy it again!

Love this app!. I have enjoyed using this app every morning. It had been part of my morning routine. I loved all the features, especially being able to make my guess as to which bird was being featured BEFORE tapping the picture to see if I was right. I am also trying to learn the 4 digit birding codes for each bird, so I could make my best educated guess for that as well. I miss this app. Please update it for us bird lovers please, please, please!!!

😰😰😰. I really miss this wonderful app. Tried down loading it again but though time and date are correct, it simply shows a bird in flight with the statement loading..... It just never loads.

Buggy. Some days it works just fine, other days it locks up once you load the description of the bird, and won’t refresh and must be rebooted. Love the birds and the facts, but never know when it will work properly.

Love the Daily Bird!!!. Just downloaded this app today and I love it! As an avid birder, I enjoy anything that gives me more information about birds. What a fantastic way to start each day! The photos are stunning - if I could give this app more than five stars I would. It's easy to use and is like a breath of fresh air when I have to spent time inside. Can't say enough good. Thanks so much! P.S. For those of you who want to use the photos as wallpaper on your phone, just email them to yourself and save them - then select them as your wallpaper!

i love this app BUT…. it is no longer updating daily, and it looks like there's no one at the helm. it's too bad because this is wonderful app for bird lovers…

Needs update. Daily Bird is (was) my favorite app for a very long time. A highlight of ever morning or a gift if I’ve missed a few days. I’ve learned so much and am able to identify many birds, some I will never see. I am so sad to lose it because it won’t work on current versions of iPhone or iPad. I hope the app is updated. I’ll keep checking.

Really nice. I look forward to this every morning, or if I forget for a few days it's like Christmas when I remember (this is probably more of a sad review of my life, but let's pretend not). Great mix of North American and international birds. I would love to see a few more photos of tricky females and juveniles thrown in! I always challenge myself (and then my girlfriend) to ID the bird before clicking to see the description (whoever writes those is doing amazing work). Even if I have never seen or heard of the bird, it is fun to see if I can get close on taxonomy and learn something new.

Ugly / Crashy. Just doesn't work - crashes at startup. Typography and layout is high-school quality.

Look forward to it every morning!. The title for this says it all. Either this or the Economist Espresso is the first thing on my cell that I look at every morning. It is either a fun test of my memory and cognitive skills, or else educational. I’ve had it for a year now and it has opened reliably every morning. Except for one, in the Ecuadorian jungle, where the Lodge had no internet connection. Maybe that is why one reviewer complained of crashing. Follow up: 2020/10/06 I now understand a previous reviewer’s complaint about crashing. Mine is stuck on Oct. 2 and deleting and reinstalling, which worked once previously, does not work now. I suspect there is an incompatibility somewhere withe the latest OS version. Too bad: I still look forward to it every morning.

Beautiful. The images are stunning, the info is nice, and I like that you can go back to previous days. If only this could be my locked screen! Running it on iPhone 6.

App freezes. Lovely idea, but every 2 or 3 days the app freezes so you can’t view the bird details or look at a previous day. The only way to fix it seems to be to delete and reinstall.

Cute app. This would be a more useful app if you could set the bird a day to your home screen or background.

Locks up. I have used this app for years and enjoyed this little bit of daily sunshine but starting about a year ago and continuing it locks up on opening and I cannot restart it. I am using a new iPad and find the same thing as my old iPad.

Great App. I love this app. I always have to squint to see what day it is; not anymore! I just push the app and BAM big as day time, day, month, and a bird, a new bird. I absolutely love it! Great job! And top it off if you click on the bird its info comes up, plus for the photographer in me Canon EOS 7D 100-400 f4-5.6 L IS it includes aperture and focal length AND which camera!!! Awesome!

Fun little bird app. This isn't a field guide and it isn't a bird finding guide. It gives me a beautiful photo of a bird every day along with some interesting text. My favorite aspect is every day is a quiz.

Useless. I updated my iPhone 6 to the new iOS 11.3 and now several of my favorite nature apps no longer work !!!! Daily Bird is one of them. Please update this app so it will work again!

Phenomenal app!. *** TROUBLESHOOTING*** Suggestion: If your Daily Bird app stopped working (e.g., if it’s not showing or not updating the daily photo and/or the screen looks frozen), try this: DELETE the app and then REINSTALL it. That completely fixed all the issues I was having with it (iPhone 7plus). ***REVIEW*** I started with some troubleshooting info as I saw some other users were reporting problems. However, please do not think the app is buggy. It’s not. I’ve had it for at least 2 years, and that was the one and only problem I’ve experienced. And that was easily remedied. In fact, I want to send a huge THANK YOU to the developers of Daily Bird! I downloaded it a couple of years ago and immediately fell in love. But more remarkably, I love and use this app today as much as I did when I first got it! No other app comes anywhere close. I was fortunate to find this app just as I was beginning to watch birds, and I’ve learned a tremendous amount using this. It’s features are outstanding! My favorite ones are Spectacular photos - super crisp and engaging, closeups showing lots of details. And there are a LOT of them. You won’t see any repeats for at least a year, and even after that, there won’t be many. (Note: Most, though certainly not all, photos are of species found in the US. Given that I’m in the US, that works well for me, but YMMV.) Key information - Clicking on the photo reveals the bird’s common and scientific names, alpha code, and a paragraph providing an overview of the species, e.g., geographical region, type of environment, behavior. It’s the essentials; there is no filler. Daily quiz - Because the above info. is hidden until you click on the photo, you can challenge yourself to ID the bird, provide the name(s), code, region, and/or environment. (The person who added this feature deserves extra kudos! It’s so simple yet extraordinarily helpful.) Closely related birds are often shown on adjacent days, thus facilitating comparisons. For example, several days might be devoted to different types of gulls. However, I’ve never seen more than ~5 days on any one type of birds, so it never gets monotonous or predictable. The standard view of the daily photo shows the current time and date in large type. Clicking the provided link opens the “Bird’s Eye” app (if you’ve installed it) and shows where that species has recently been spotted. ***SUGGESTION TO THE DEVELOPERS*** A parallel app that provides a bird song a day AND offers a self-quiz like this app does likewise would be phenomenally useful, especially to those of us struggling to learn bird songs! (Although because you would need to hide any images or other identifying information until the user clicks to reveal them, it wouldn’t accomplish the same thing to just add bird songs to the Daily Bird.) Thanks for considering this, and for all of your hard work!

Totally Disappointed. Was a great app but the developers haven’t updated it and it no longer works with iOS 14.4.1
