Huge dissapointment!!!!!. Ever since bias 2 update, all of my bias apps run continuously in background . I’ve never turn them on, yet they still keep running .on all my apple devices same problems. Wish someone would listen to help correct problem. Before anymore purchases. Every single app is turned off in background mode. They are turning on when all machines are shut down and turned off. Not very good update.

Clicking and popping On iPad 12.9 version 15. And their customer service is the worst anyone has ever seen I guarantee you. They answer once a day Monday through Thursday only. And they respond between 1-6 AM EST. Bias amp two mobile and bias pedal mobile have the same latency issues. The problem is there are only too late and see settings on both. Therefore every 20 seconds you hear a latency pop on both of those which make them unusable. Now as of March 23, 2022, bias FX2 mobile has a new bug where you can’t use the celestial packs that you purchased. It says coming soon. I thought that the software was serious but it’s a big fat joke. Blah blah blah yeah I guess what you get what you pay for.

Awesome!. The best guitar and bass tone I’ve ever gotten! Sounds killer, is a blast to use, and I’ve never been so inspired to play. THANK YOU Positive Grid!

No Cabinet enabled. Its ridiculus that you still cannot enable the cabinet, even dough in the last update they said you can, well it is a lie, you cant, I bought the celestion speakers and can’t use them, also a lot of crackling and noise that don’t happen in the Mac soft version, still needs a lot of work, makes me mad to buy and pay for stuff that doesn’t work

Awesome. I read the comments before I bought the whole thing. I realized MOST of the comments were from people that didn’t know what they were doing lol. Do your homework you’ll be fine it’s a good product.

New upgrade not compatible with bias fix. Same problem other people are having with no output unless you tap edit in bias amp then go back to bias fx, pretty annoying when I had a gig that same day. Just stayed on one preset the whole time but please fix this soon.

Insanely Good. Update 2023: Unfortunately this app no longer works on my iPad since operating to iOS 16. Customer support said they were opening an investigation, but I have not heard back since. The app still opens and functions properly, but it won’t integrate with GarageBand or Auria, so I can’t use it for recording, just practicing along with songs. Way way better than Line 6 for line in recording, though I haven’t tried out any of the Helix stuff. Right out of the box, the Marshall, Fender, and Orange amp sims sound really good, and I’ve owned a Fender Deluxe Reverb and an Orange Rockerverb and done recordings in professional studios with them. The mic placement setting works great too, which is pretty mind blowing since it tends not to work on other gear I’ve owned, and actually sounds like what would happen in real life. If you buy the full version, you can move the mic further away which allows you to really dial in the tone you want. I can’t say enough good things about this app; out of 5 stars, it deserves 10.

Bias fx has no output after the update. After updating to bias amp 2 I get no sound out of bias fx. I see the input meter is receiving sound but no output. When opening the amp in bias amp 2 I get a signal path error 0. No reverb block in signal path. Only when you turn off the cab in global settings you get some sound but wth out the cab sound. I go directly to PA so that almost ruined a gig . Luckily I imported an amp from bias amp 2 that was working in bias fx so I could at least finish the gig. The acoustic imaging amp works also. Please fix this since I don’t want to lose my presets. Edit: Works perfectly now thank you for fixing the issue. I had to write the bad review because it ruined a gig for me. I’ve been using bias fx Ipad to gig professionally now for over 2 years and it’s been rock solid until then. Works great now best of its kind. Six stars

Crashes. Only runs for a few minutes on a brand new 9.7” iPad. Crashes and won’t reload again. Have to uninstall and reinstall for it to work again for only a few more minutes. Crashes when switching between Bias FX and Bias Amp 2 consistently. Just upgraded from Bias , which worked flawlessly, and spent about $30-$40 in IPAs.... now it doesn’t work. If I don’t get a working product or a full refund, shame on you Positive Grid

Inputs are all wrong. As a professional musician and sound engineer, it’s a great solution for fly dates and other in and out scenarios however. The in’s and outs are all wrong. All organic amplifiers inputs are static -10 dB inputs. No need to have a slider where zero represents -16 dB on top on no way of knowing what absolute zero / -10 dB actually is. Same for the output. It’s such a turn off I basically don’t use it. An update to fix this is way overdue. I would not recommend this until the inputs and outputs represent actual amplifiers.

One Huge App!. I Love the Control I get with Bias Amp 2, but there is something Major you should consider...When I go from Bias FX to Bias Amp 2 I just have the stripped down amp to work on with no effects except a Mono Reverb. Then when I link back over to Bias FX again, the amp sounds Totally Different than when I just worked on it in the Bias Amp 2 App due to what effects I use with it. It would be Much Better if you made it all One Big App so I can work on sounds as they will sound when finished in Bias FX. The Cabinets are over in Bias Amp 2 and can alter the sound Drastically. All the Amp adjustments would be much easier to work on if they were a part of the Amp adjustments in Bias FX instead of switching back and forth and having to Guess what it will sound like in BiasFX. Bias Pedal is easier to go back and forth, so that isn’t a big deal. If I could adjust all the Amp Settings over in Bias FX with the Effects I want to add, I could get a better result than guessing what it will sound like. You could just have in-app purchases instead of getting both apps.

Excellent tone, even for a tone snob. Love this app! This is one of the best tube amp emulators I’ve used, even if it were only a preset machine. It goes well beyond presets, though. It provides everything you need to design your own tube amp tones from the ground up. Wanna hear how a Dumble sounds with EL84s? No problem. A Marshall with 6L6s? Why not? Change speakers, gain stages, power amp, etc. Every amp model I’ve played through is super responsive and would totally work for a gig if I needed it to. I use it mostly for practice at home and recording demos, but I wouldn’t hesitate to take it with me to a gig that needs versatile tones. 10/10 would recommend. There’s nothing like sitting in front of a nice tube amp, but this comes pretty close.

Bias amp 2 is Great!. I wasn’t really expecting much but I was wrong. It just sounds amazing. Good job!

Frustrating can’t get bias fix to work together. This should be easy but I can’t see or hear any difference. Also was not working right with my usb audio interface. All I get is mono out even when hard panned and meters show sound only on 1 channel.

This is a fun app with Jam Up Pro. Prefer the Jam Up Pro and this app over the newer offerings. Better sound, easy to see/use, and the amp details allow me to get the sound I am looking for.

IF IT SOUNDS GOOD IT IS GOOD.. I have used Positive Grid’s BIAS amp design paradigm to great effect since it was introduced. It works like a champ! What other iOS app lets you create emulations of tube amplifiers driving vintage speakers that would fry themselves in the real world but in BIAS perform their sizzling tones endlessly? Currently this app has no equal.

This is as close as it gets to reality!. I have been using amp sims for a very long time. BIAS amp (to tweak amps to you’re liking) and BIAS FX ( amps you create in BIAS amp plus the effects) are the best of the best. I have and use them both not only on iPad but have been so impressed I also use and record on PC and Mac. Not only can they do multi platform but you can also save your favorites in tone cloud and play them across platforms. I started with PG with JamUp Pro. They have steadily moved away from the pack to make a truly amazing series of guitar amp and effect products.

Issues with iOS 16. As was mentioned in the last review, Bias 2 is an amazing app, and I like its tones and functionality more than any other app I’ve used. And it’s integration with the Bias amps makes for a completely unique system, and the Bias Mini is my favorite hardware amp now. Except Bias 2 does not work as an IAA plug-in with any app I’ve used (Cubasis 3, AUM), and will no longer operate with the Bias Mini amp, with iOS 16. It all worked fine before iOS 16. I really hope PG fixes this soon, as it is basically useless to me now.

Not the big sound. I have purchased this app and fx but it doesn’t deliver that big sound some pedals deliver. Have tried different audio devices like focusrite I dock and thought it was the dock. switched to a avid protools solo track and even a m audio fast track usb but still not that uhh sound. I have worked a lot of pedals and know there sound. Waisted of my time. Sound to artificial. Music teacher.

Implementation with Bias Fx 2 could be better. Purchasing the Ultimate option in BiasFX2 will unlock Bias Amp2! Sweet!

When used with Bias Fx loud “pop” when changing presets.. Sounds great! Feels great! Looks great! Only usable for recording. I would hope they can fix this in an update or add a “snapshot” feature. With practice I could even deal with patch change lag. I’d love to use this in a practice/live situation. Unfortunately this is problem extremely limiting.

So much better than I expected. This thing records great. Period.o

great app!. Recently i’ve started using this app, and first tone i made was Dimebag Darrells, tone. need a tiny bit of work, but it’s sounding great. I love how you can make a tone sound like how you want it, you’re not too restricted with it.

Won’t update Bias Amp 2. Notice says to update. Hit update spins a bit the jumps to update. Been a few days and still won’t update Bias FX or other apps. Any ideas? Thanks,Michael

a dying app.... really great effort and has been a lot of fun. but this app is part of the dying breed of IAA apps. cannot get it to work with AUM which for me and many others is the future of unrestricted ipad music. hopefully it will be ported to auv3. happy to pay again.

Sounds great.... but. Amp 2 is great, but it does not integrate well with jam up pro. The amps lose all their greatness in jam up pro. It is not user friendly on an iPad. Amp 2 is amazing but it is ruined by the jam up program. I hope this gets fixed. Pretty much unusable.

iOS 16.5.1, iOS 16.6 distorted feedback. On my one device that has iOS 16.5 I have no issues with the app, but on my other iOS 16.5.1 and iOS 16.6 devices the audio comes out with this digital distorted with some feedback sometimes. It's also affecting ampkit+ so I assume it just needs an update since the latest OS version broke something on these apps.

Good but some bugs. So I have been using Bias Amp 2 on pc for some time but hoping to replace it with this app as it is more portable. I am having 2 weird issues on my new iPad Pro. If you have something connected to the USB-C port, you can no longer play through the iPad’s speakers. Is this normal? Also whenever you have Run in Background set to On, when you leave the app and come back to it, volume drops off and then goes back to normal. That would be very annoying to have happen live. Also could we get some scaling for the Gen 3 iPad Pro 11”? I have black borders on the left and right of the UI.

Classic…not in a good way. Like grandpa’s sweater, it looks kinda cool but fits weird and smells funky. Every modern guitar plugin needs to work as an Audio Unit, or it recording is awkward and glitchy. The smell? Kinda like a perfumed version of the actual amps: lacking the sweetness but overpowering.

Woks great!. After other some apps I tried I had low expectations. Am happy to say it just worked. My Ur22mkII interface has 2 channels and in setting I was given the choice of which one or both which is needed as channel 2 has the hi Z input. Must make mention of in the demo you can really try things out not to many limits. Great app ... bought it . Many Thanks

Simply amazing tone. I’ve been recording with GarageBand for about a year and just used their amp simulators, but once I tried the free version of bias amp 2 I was hooked! I love looking for amps other people uploaded, and playing with the components has taught me a lot about how amps work on the inside. I highly recommend this app. My only gripe is that GarageBand automatically begins the tracks in stereo even with bias2 set to left channel only. If I start recording before I remember to manually switch to mono I end up with weird phase issues and that track will sound quiet in a mix. Still, absolutely five stars for this app!

Terrible User Experience and Integration. The integration between this app and the other Positive Grid apps it is supposed to work with is HORRIBLE! You loose your in app purchases when switching between apps, and it’s nearly impossible to restore them without deleting everything off your iPad. For example, I purchased the Glassy option in Bias Amp 2 and set up some presets. Then I opened Bias FX to mess around with one it’s presets. When I opened the amp I was playing in Bias Amp 2 from within Bias FX interface to make adjustments, I lost all my in app purchases in both products and now nothing seems to restore them. This company DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE DOING with respect to integration, the App Store, and purchase restoration. I would pass by this purchase if I were you!

So Much Promise (more realized every day). This app just keeps getting better. The new models in version 2 are REALLY good and very responsive. The flexibility is almost beyond belief! The app still needs bits of refinement here and there but it does its job better then other iOS modelers I have used. Once you get the combination of Amp 2, FX, and Pedal, you open up a whole other level of tonal flexibility, that really just feels usable, instead of gimmicky. My only real issue now is having an AUv3 plug in. This app becomes a true 5 Star app once that feature has been added.

Great sound but volume get lower when open amp in fx. Please pg team I know you read our comments and respond to us bias amp 2 sounds amazing but when I transfer amp to bias fx for effects sound of amp get lower

The best on iOS. And probably on PC too. The difference between this and other sims I’ve tried is that entire tweakable range sounds analog and not digital. I tried some sims and if they sound digital I will just not use it because it takes the pleasure of playing out of it. Cheapest tube amp can give decent sound I would just buy a used Fender and be done with these emulations. But bias amp gives very natural tones so instead of buying like 10 physical amps, this is a much better solution.

Terrible Crackling. I want to like this app. I own Bias FX for Mac and I haven’t had a single problem with it. However, Bias Amp is not the same case. It is incredibly slow to load and is always creating a constant crackling sound, especially when used in conjunction with GarageBand. Ive double checked my interface, cables, and guitars and every time it comes back to Bias. I don’t know why this is happening but it is incredibly unpleasant.

Best quality sounds on iOS, but dodgy support and marketing tactics. I own a lot of the Positive Grid products. I invested heavily in JamUp Pro and many of its IAP’s, and it worked quite well for iOS recording. I go back and forth on BIAS, though I think a lot of the problems I and many users experienced with it had to do with using it on an older iPad. Since upgrading my device, I’m really starting to enjoy the sounds of BIAS AMP, FX, and PEDAL again. But there are so many PG products, they tend to be inconsistent or unreliable. There has been a terribly annoying issue where the BIAS Amp/JamUp apps seem to think they are “recording” in the background (with the red bar on top), even when all PG apps are closed! This is really unacceptable and should have been fixed long ago. I also feel like they force you to buy and re-buy content to continue enjoying use of the app, as opposed to merely expanding what it does. The ToneCloud service is cool, but difficult to navigate, and you can only access the content to the extent you happen to own ALL the IAP’s necessary for a given app or effect. But generally, the tones are great, and the potential is endless. I’d just like to see them work on keeping the lights on as much as they focus on forcing new paid content.

Purchased Bias 2 unlock cannot use unless constant restore purchase when opening.. Bought the Bias 2 upgrade for $15. However for some reason I constantly have to restore purchase before being able to use the pack. It’s annoying. I’ve tried all suggested trouble shooting without luck. Uninstall, reinstall, iPad reset, sign out and back in to iTunes store etc. nothing works. I Have sent email to Bias have gotten no response. As of 2-8-19. Positive grid still ignoring my requests. I want money back. Don’t buy this the app is flawed and they know it. I’m being ignored now! This company is has trash customer service. I plan on writing a formal complaint with evidence to Apple. Apple tells me the issue is on Positive Grid end. 2-8-19 app still doesn’t work.

LOVE THE UPDATE BUT I found a bug. I love everything about the bias 2 update so far, it’s quite clear you listen to feedback cause the new update is so smooth to operate with, but would like to point out a consistent bug I now have. All downloaded amps go into my custom folder which is fine, but when I rearrange the amps, my app crashes - like clockwork - on the second amp I try to move. Thanks for listening guys

Nice Amp Building App. Nice integration with Bias FX2, but needs update for iPad Pro 11”. UI looks great, but does not fit the screen properly. 4 or 5 starts if this is fixed.

Sooooooooo out of touch. Ok…so it sounds good and has nice features….except the one that matters most to me….auv3 support. Tbh I barely even use this anymore since we have amp sim developers who understand the IPad music production landscape now. And now that we have Logic Pro for the IPad , Bias Amps is REALLY obsolete. You guys are still working on updating iaa, really….how out of touch is that??????? 😂😂😂 This would be an instant 5 star app for me if it were an audio unit…I’ve literally bought every in app purchase for this and Bias fx and barely use either because I don’t use iaa….this can’t even be used with Logic Pro for IPad…..how smart is that????

Needs update. When you make an amp and import into biasfx2 it is way too loud and doesn’t sound the same

Works well, but has feedback…. I couldn’t figure out the feedback problem with Garageband. It works well with guitar and headphones, but Garageband doesn’t mix without feedback. I can’t figure that out, with an amp, speaker, you name it. Other than that it’s an awesome app!

Cabinets broken in most presets after bias 2 update. Update to bias 2 broke the cabinet on multiple presets in bias and bias fx. Amps that worked prior to update are now broken after update with no sound in bias fx and cabinets that will not turn on in bias amp. When I seen that bias amp 2 was just an update on iOS store I was happy and it seemed like a nice gesture for those that supported positive grid. But now it appears you broke bias amp 1 by doing this update and are now forcing people to pay to update to bias amp 2 to fix the issue. I would be glad to pay for your product but this is scummy business practices since you broke your old app when bringing in the new one. At least jamup pro still works after bias amp release.

V2.0 woes. EDIT - fixed in latest update. Amp models and BIAS FX chains that worked and sounded good in the previous versions - ones with amp gain&distortion - now need settings changed to work and sound nasty fizzy.

Supposed to be universal compatible but not. Bought this for my iPad thinking once I buy it it would work with my iPhone to but doesn’t and have tried multiple times to get support but no response. It clearly says that it’s universal compatible but not with my iPhone 14 Pro Max keeps saying to purchase again from App Store even though I already did on my iPad Air.

Amp sim sound good, but UI not scaled for 12.9” iPad Pro. This is my favorite amp sim especially when combined with Bias FX. That said, I am disappointed with the UI on the 12.9” iPad Pro (1st gen). It is scaled for a regular iPad and the screen is tiny. This is one of things holding me back from paying for the full version. It would also be nice to have a simple IR loader for the iPad version integrated into the app. Hoping the next update fixes the screen issue. Update: With the screen issue fixed Bias Amp 2 is probably the best amp sim app out right now. Despite having to pay extra to unlock all the features, the app is a more versatile tool than ever before and conforms with standard mic placement practices (ex. 121 and 57 combo). I use this program with an older Apogee JAM and have not had any issues with sound or crackling. What I would like to see in the future is more 3rd party IR integration into the app. Overall, Bias Amp 2 a very useful tool for guitarists and a hell of a lot of fun to rock on.

Awesome, needs auv3. After trying everything on the iPad, I’ve settled on Bias amp 2 as hands down my favorite. Other amp sims sound decent, but for me, Bias Amp sounds the best. I fooled with everything I could find but couldn’t get the tone I had in my head. The more I added, the further I got from finding it. Bias had sat, neglected for along time, because I thought I needed more effects or distortion. Finally I read how Malcolm Young did what he did with really straightforward gear and I dug back into Bias. After a little studying what everything does, I came up with not one but two amp sims that are perfect for me. No effects needed. I took away one star because Positive Grid REALLY needs to make this an audio unit. So go ahead, spend the bucks and enjoy yourself. This app rocks.

Update breaks Bias FX. I notice they had this issue back in November, too. Bias FX is a really good app, my new go-to for playing in my church worship band. I like being able to tweak things even more in Bias Amp. But the update to Bias Amp 2 broke Bias FX. I get input levels, but no output unless I take the amp out of the signal change or tap the Bias Amp icon, go to Bias Amp, then tap the FX icon to return. That would be aggravating, but marginally acceptable if I had to do it once per preset, but I have to do it again every single time I return to a preset. Please fix this soon. Edit: Updated to new versions of both apps and the problem went away. Good job getting this fixed ASAP!!

Communication break downs. Bias does not talk well with jamup and has a hostile relationship with garage band. The glitches are bountiful and whatever hair I have left has now left my head. Needs to have a better process than this. All apps and myself need therapy

Not happy. IAA not loading in AUM, Auria or Audiobus.

Sounds garbage and WAYY overpriced. Want to use bias between your Mac, iPad and iPhone? Get ready to buy 3 copies of the SAME APP and DSP engine! That's the worst kind of "screw the customer" Even with the sound they'd make a killing doing a one login/all devices Or is the iPad version inferior to the desktop? No didn't think you'd admit that. Then there's the BS constant sales pitch that you can't turn off..God forbid you accidentally tap on a mic you haven't spent $8 on. Go get a used line 6 Pod HD4/500 as it'll be cheaper and blow this away.... They started this industry and their models sound like different amps. Bias just sounds like 1 amp +/- heavy eq or gain. Cabs are garbage too.

App with potential but too many hidden costs. I'm a bias amp rack and desktop pro owner and would have thought that this app would be free for those users Shame that after purchasing this I still have to spend over $50 to have all the models that come with the desktop version Shame that I can't transport the presets on my rack or desktop onto this without wasting even more money , nice app but seems just like another greedy money grab on both apple and positive grids part .. Shame ...shame ...shame

Incompatible with JamUp. Bought upgrades for JamUp a long time ago and bias amp 1 used to work with JamUp. But now says JamUp needs to be updated to use bias amp 2 but there’s no update. Used to love it’s tones and ease of use but its functionality has gone right out the window.

Needs turn off amp capability. Used to love positive grid over all other apps but since I purchased tube amps I want to switch off the amp (can't do) and cab (can do) so I can just run effects I create in Bias Pedal or what I have in Bias FX or Jamup. It's annoying because Amplitube and Ampkit allow it. I've started using their apps again because of this even though PG have better effects capabilities.

Buggy now, but was beaut!. Latest update on my first gen iPad mini now will not move from the 'positive grid' opening screen. Please fix this so I have not wasted my hard earned money on your expensive program with overpriced extras... Last updates have sorted any issues I had, thanks. Back to beaut!

Bass amps. Hi Not much of a selection. How do I get something like a Markbass sound.

Awesome. As a tweaker, I could mess around with this for hours at a time. It is a guitar players app, worth the price of the ipad if you don't already have one.

David Ball- casual primate. Money is hard to come by these day. Nothing else you will buy for yourself musically will provide this kind of versatility and tone for so little money. I have owned this product for 6 months and am still creating new signal chains and tones. The depth of this amp modeller is astonishing.

The Largest Array of Digital Amps Available. This is simply the best way to add thousands of amps to your tone toolkit. If you couple this Amp with Bias Pedal and Bias FX you have the best digital tone toolkit on the market.

Inter app Audio Broken. Can’t load this into AUM as IAA. Bias fx2 works, but looks like they have abandoned this one. Lame.

Still broken... STILL!. This app crashes with every single adjustment you try to make with it what a complete and utter waste of money.... Positive grid you guys should be ashamed of yourself that you guys are releasing new stuff constantly when you're old stuff still doesn't work, give me my money back!

Crashes. Just bought this app recently and was loving it. Since the update I feel like I have been robbed because I can’t use this app other that by itself and if I close it. Crashes.

Level memory. Every fn time I have to set my levels , even after overwriting the setting , it makes it hard to be consistent ,,, Please fix ... I love the tone , but im getting peed off at the level correction every time . It needs to be consistent ,,, setting my levels differently every time to try and get the exact same result as my previous track gets annoying ,,, What gives ... And I get scratchy guitar sounds in cubasis via audiobus , that I dont get with my drum loops ,,, I should not have to set my levels every time ,,, Capiche ,,, You work for me now , so fn fix the fn thing or go work at mc donalds , you bums ,,,,

Great sound, iffy app. First things first, this is the best sounding amp sim out there. That said, the preset management system is absolutely aweful and the ui could be reworked. Updates are sparse, developer is constantly focused on creating and promoting new apps and IAPs, sometimes to the detriment of support to existing software. Bias has also been much more buggy for me with Inter-App-audio than other programs...

Wow!!!!. I have every amp app made for the iPad and until now I've been disappointed with everyone in some regard or another. This is by far the best app in its class. I haven't had any issues at all on my iPad mini 2. I've never even considered using an iPad app on stage but for my acoustic gigs that need the occasional electric I'm seriously considering it. If your a serious musician take this thing for a spin even if just as a practice amp. I'm using the line6 piece for input and it's awesome. Great job on the app.

Not bad, could be better. This is still one of the better amp sim apps on the app store, but for version 2 to have come out this year and not include AUv3 support is disappointing, to say the least. Not being able to load custom IR’s in the cab sim is also a let down. Celestion already sells these cabs, I gotta pay twice to use them on my iPad? Still, it’s worth your time if you’re a guitarist with an iDevice, but you’re not getting rid of your computer just yet.

This new version is garbage…. I’ve been running BIAS Amp for almost ten years and never had an issue, except obsolescence on my old iPad. So, I upgraded to a fancy new 9th gen iPad with all the bells and whistles and while I was at it upgraded BIAS Amp 2 to take advantage of all the latest features…now the app isn’t working right. The interface is working, I get signal, but none of the tone controls or selection features work and I also get clipping and noise….which they say this latest version fixed. BIAS Amp 2 still works perfect on the old iPad, and it works great on my newer iPhone, but it is completely botched on the new iPad. By the way, BIAS FX2 works perfectly fine so none of the hardware is having issues… just this software.

App does not work, do not buy this. Was on sale so I picked it up. Worked once. Once you make a preset and close the app you can no longer open the app. It also has in app purchases, many features locked. Disappointing, Ola sells it well. iOS and app up to date, reboot, still hangs on launch screen. iPad 3, you've been warned.

Not happy with bias amp 2. You guys need to give me a link back to bias amp 1, they should be separate apps. Being tricked into giving up all my custom work on the original bias amp that took hours to achieve really tastes bad positive grid. I have no problem paying for apps but not the way u guys went about it, pretending it’s free but if u want the functions u originally paid for you gotta pay again. Sound wise it is flat and disappointing, all cabs are removed unless u pay again. I’m sure after u pay the celeste cabs are great, however that should be disclosed upfront. 1 star for money grabbing tactics

Great app. Love this app, but can't understand why after purchasing the iPad version, I still have to buy the iPhone version. For this is the reason I gave 4 instead of 5.

Love this app. Great tones, amazing visuals, infinite adjustments, access to thousands of artists and community presets, what’s not to love?

GREAT APP BUT IT CRASHES AND STOPPED WORKING. THE APP CRASHES SO MUCH! I CAN'T ACCESS THE APP ANYMORE BECAUSE IT KEEPS CRASHING AS I CLICK ON IT! IT WAS SO GOOD WHEN IT WAS WORKING, BUT NOW IT IS NOT SO IT'S AWFUL!! PLEASE FIX

JamUp sounds better. JamUp is clear and sounds more like the real deal. These patches sound close, but sound like somebody threw a thin blanket over the cabinet. Still, for what and how much it is, it's a great option for those starting out or making demos on the road. I just wish they sounded a bit better.

Awesome. I'm already using this app live with the BT4 controller, polytuner and a wah. This is the closest best amp simulation I will get for live and studio and for the ridiculous low price. Of course my Mesa Boogie sounds better. But this is just so convenient to have, and the best part is when you don't tell anyone what it is. Then when you do... They are speechless hahahah. It's a $30 App!! Phuck you hahahah.

Great, but.... I give it 5 stars because overall they did a great job with this. Good sound quality and pretty good design. But, with every update, issues have increased. Latest update is unusable since there are clicks and cracks in the sound every second, and the sound even drops every few seconds. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Best Guitar Amp Hands Down!. I've tried Amplitude and Tone Stack, and those amp sims sound good respectively, but they don't compare to the harmonic warmth, tube-like feel and versatility of Bias FX. I really like the way it almost feels like a real tube amp, they nailed it! Get Bias Amp and Bias Pedal as well! Because it'll bring this app to a new level! Honestly get this guitar app! 👍😊🎸

Best amp sim I've used. This amp sim is so good that I sold all my my practice amps. If you're just jamming around at home, sell your amp, grab a pair of outstanding studio headphones, and you're set. Your family and neighbors will thank you for it, and the sheer tonal options with something like this are amazing. Granted, you have to be a real tone geek to get EVERYTHING out of this software, but even just presets and searching the ToneCloud can give you breathtaking sounds that no practice amp or app has ever been able to. This app is the reason I bought an iPad Pro at all, and I don't feel like the $600 on that or the 10$ on this app was a waste at all. Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.

Game changer.... I've only had about 1/2 hour with Bias so far but all I can say is WOW! Impressive sims of many amps that I will never own. So far I love the Bassman, Dumble and Plexi (and I've barely scratched the surface). I haven't figure out a workflow yet, but that's next. Someone else commented that it isn't working with GB. I hope that gets remedied soon. For now, it's the best "quiet-room" solution ever. Get some good headphones and you'll hear a full spectrum of tone from these amp sims.

Crashes all the time. Keeps crashing and hanging whenever I try to use it with Bias Mini Bass. Will connect one time out of ten crashes.

Needs AU for use with Logic. The amp models sound nice, but are nearly useless for what I need on this device. It would be awesome to be able to use this app as a plug-in in Logic Pro.

Static. Terrible, just a static noise, GarageBand works fine so I know it’s not my hardware.

Extremely accurate. Amazing.... First! \m/ Loved the video clips and took the plunge despite the fact that I've already spent a ton of money on amp software. This is the real deal. Scrolling through the presets gives you a wealth of useful tones for all styles, but he real power of Bias comes with the the advanced tweaking. Mix and match cabs/mics, choose between output tube types/topologies, adjust bias settings, etc. Seriously customizable, and easily the best sounding, most responsive on the iPad. I've been playing guitar for 30 years, as a touring pro, studio musician, and for the love of it. For the first time I feel like I have a tool I can actually use. Well done Positive Grid.

Can’t get demo to make sound on iPad Pro with Irig. I’m on iPad Pro with an Irig and latest iOS version. No sound comes out of my audio interface. I’ve followed all troubleshooting.

Great, On Paper. When it works, it is awesome. But, since iOS 8, it is full of bugs. I am getting tired of uninstalling and re-installing the software, just to have it finally fail to launch at all. The Positive Grid support team asks me to be patient, but I have lost hours of work in both Bias and Jam Up Pro due to bugs, reinstalls, failed patch backups, lost presets, etc. I think they are pushing Bias Desktop and slacking on fixing the many bugs in their other programs. Love it when it works. Just wish it did on a consistent basis.

Won’t play in background on iPad os 14. Won’t play in background with iOS 14 on iPad. Yes I have run in background enabled in the app 2 months later still no update????

This is amazing on so many levels. I love this app because it gives me so much flexibility in how I practice and play. I can get very serious when I combine it with other apps and feed into a beautifully clean amp; link it to a set of tracks to experiment or I can simply play into headphones while sitting in a hotel room. Love it. One issue: it appears I need to buy another copy to put it on my iPhone. Is this true? It would be handy to have for traveling but, on principle, it aggravates me to buy a second copy.

Simply Awesome!!!. Incredible!. Nothing compares

Have to purchase twice!?!. Purchased on iPhone and apparently must pay again to use on iPad!! Not sure how that seems reasonable...!

No Brainer Deal. Picked this up for 50% off just because I have spent far too much money on jamup pro. This app is worth every penny full price and if you see it on sale pick it up! I am an audio engineer/guitarist I own an Axe-Fx II and have owned an Eleven Rack, not to mention my personal amps. I use both a positive grid 3/4" interface jack for the phone and a Focusrite ITrack Dock, and after using this app I will be purchasing the plugin and using this for my tones. This allows you to tweak the amps like in an axe-fx but in a more musical way not a tech geeky way. Also being able to export the amps here into jamup pro, soooo cool!

Bad practice. It’s not a good practice to sneak in update that limits performance and requires IAP.

Great tones. Would like lower latency. This app has great sounds but I would like lower latency or at least more control over setting the latency values instead of just normal and low. I realize they are trying to keep this simple and prevent people from experience pops and clicks but a noticeable delay prevents these simulations from feeling very realistic and can't be compared to playing with the real amps it attempts to emulate. I have an iPad Air and a Line6 Sonic Port and I feel I can get better latency performance if the option was available. I can get 2ms of latency on the MobilePod app with no problems at all.

Please fix. I am having the same problem as a previous reviewer. Once I started using the app the amp selection disappeared and now the app will no longer open. The short time I got to use the app it worked fine and sounds great although the first EQ section does in the chain does not seem to work very well it does not add or take away any EQ frequencies whatsoever. I'm really looking forward for this app to work as well as it seems that it can. This app has the potential to be the very best that musicians can get! $20 for an app seems like a lot of money but considering the value and the money we save on equipment, this is awesome please make us proud.

Click... Crash. Uninstall, reinstall, repeat. I really wanted this app to work because it for the first few minutes you have with it, it sounds amazing. But as soon as you start playing with the amp models and options, something happens. Suddenly the base models are just gone. So you exit the app and restart to find yourself frozen on the opening logo screen. You can repeat this simply by customizing an amp and then trying to save it as one of the presets. Poof, instant death. But for $20 the graphics look nice. I do have iOS 8 (most recent updates applied) so it might be a compatibility issue. Hopefully an update will be coming. This would easily be a 5 star review if it just kept working because the sound and design is immaculate. When it works.

El Crasho. Purchased the activation for $20 and blues amps for $10 just crashes on my I pad. How do I get a refund ?

Phenomenal. I was so skeptical of the hype behind positive grid BIAS (I blame my youth which instilled an anti social mentality in me) I now understand what the hype was with BIAS and this version wholly lives up to it, phenomenal tones I never thought possible in tube mimicking software let alone on my iPad, I am humbled and more than happy to admit my skepticism was unfounded, recommending this app to all my friends and band mates immediately!

Simply Amazing!. Just got this app and so far it's better than any software out there. You can totally build your own custom amp from scratch. The guitar tones you can get out of this app are so close to the real thing it's crazy. The JamUp integration is flawless as well. If your looking for the best guitar amp modeler for the iPad.. look no more. Get it now, you'll be glad you did!!

The Best....But...... I have a line of Amps that I can barely manage. Amp after amp. The one I'm looking for is in there somewhere. This app needs Folders. And it needed them from the start. Come on Positive Grid!!!! If you want the best sound possible from your idevice this is the way to go. Top JamUp? This thing is incredible, and I'm not Bias. As if there was any need to perfect the tones in JamUp, BIAS does that and then some. One has never been able to manipulate amps and tones like this. I'm in awe of how good this app is. Positive Grid is is insane, intelligent, friendly, and makes top quality perfect apps! Some times there is a glitch, but they are responsive, and quick to fix.

League of its own. I don't write reviews often, but this app is a great leap forward in modeling technology, not only in sound, but in amp creation! this thing will go from clean to insanity, with multiple stops along the way,, you have endless parameters to help shape your sound, I hope to see this type of thing adopted into other companies, who are striving to capture the magic, of real hardware… The sound is great,, the customization is also great,,,, this program however, has started freezing, in a bad way,, the kind of freeze where you have to delete, and reinstall, and in part lose a lot of what you have built! but again, this company seems to really get, what we are looking for, and they are pushing the envelope, and the pricing is very fair! I hope to see people support companies like this,, ultimately it helps our own future… these are great tools :) Rock on!

Finally, a Guitarist Worthy Amp Modeling App!. Up to this point, I was feeling that I totally wasted $40 on an iRig interface back when IOS guitar interfaces were the new thing. Positive Grid’s apps make it work very very well. Searing feedback and background noise have been eliminated as much as you could hope using the iRig. I highly recommend this app and also the companion Jamup Pro XT so that you can add Fx to to the Bias Amp models. I played both Guitar and Bass for almost 40 years now & for both Guitar and Bass - this is BY FAR the best sounding, versatile, easy to use amp & tone modeling software there is to be had anywhere. I do not mean that it sounds great only headphones either, I primarily interface to the aux in of a Fender Amp. Bias and Jamup XT Pro are suitable for gigging.

Crash City. Completely unstable. Crashes constantly.

THIS APP NEEDS AN UPDATE v.2. It's useless until the update comes. Having said that, it's a brilliant product/application. While limited to only producing various Amp tones, it absolutely beats out its contemporaries. I've played Amplitube, GuitarRig, Waves CLA Guitars (which is quite good) and Pod Farm (overall favorite). What this app does that is so special is its ability to reproduce the natural air that amps project inside and outside their enclosure. It's such a good app that I would likely be giving it a rating of 5 stars if this version of the app was stable. As it is now, it's unplayable. v.2 amendment to previous review. So, the guys at Positive Grid have gotten the interface to stop freezing at start up but now the presets that help you start out with creating your own tones have mysteriously disappeared. I added a star because of the effort. If this is happening to anyone else please include in your review. I don't mind glitches when apps are free or even a couple of dollars. But, for $20 this sort of stuff should be worked out before release.

Can’t find the tuner. I hate having to open another app to tune the guitar this disrupts the work flow. Doesn’t work that seamlessly with JamUp Pro. Sounds almost as good as Mobile POD. Unexpected and disappointed, unlike their other apps, they want you to pay an extra 5 bucks for the iPhone version. If I knew they were coming out with a iPhone version I would have opted with the phone app for a quarter of the price.

Just okay. Not as advertised. Disappointing.. Im using an iPad Air 2. The amps sound pretty good. I don't have enough experience to know how accurate the virtual changes in tubes, transformer, etc. are but they are fun to play with. The microphone placement does not work at all for me. It is hit-or-miss with GarageBand inter-app audio. It worked perfectly at first but now tells me that the app is unavailable, which makes it basically useless to me. Also I expected to get some effects with the package based on demos I watched before purchasing but apparently that is a $30 download from a partner company. I had no idea. Pretty disappointed overall.

Bias Amp 2. I am going to preface this review with, the fact that I am not an employee of Positive Grid or an endorsee. I do have to say that I do have several of their products including Bias Amp 2 Elite plug-in, Bias FX on iPad, Bias FX plugin and Bias Amp Mini. I’ve used modelers from other manufacturers & developers over the last 10 years to fill in the gaps when I didn’t have access to the amp I needed. Most have been rather disappointing. Others were completely unusable. Until I stumbled upon an article in a guitar magazine, I thought that it was a lost cause. That article was about the first Bias Amp app on iPhone & iPad. That was a great product, because I could dial in the sound I wanted. It was realistic. Not fuzzy or fizzy. And the amp models were dynamic. Meaning that they responded to the guitar input like a real tube amp would. Turn down the volume on your guitar and the sound cleans up. Just as I would expect from the real thing. With amp match, Positive grid took things the next level. Being able to compete with Kemper and AxeFX. It was great! Then..... well then Positive grid comes out with Bias Amp 2. Ok so what does this do to change the game? So I invested in both the iPad app and the plugins for my recording studio. The new app is better than the previous version. Much more realistic. I can say in a blind test I can’t tell the real thing from the Bias Amp version when it comes to comparing amps sounds of a particular make and model. It works seamlessly with amp matches I’ve created in the desktop version. And it works with my Bias Amp Mini to load presets that I need for gigging. You could spend more money on a competitive piece of gear, bu in my opinion it wouldn’t be money well spent. You’d be better off with Bias Amp. Great job Positive Grid!

Beyond Incredible!. Note: Since writing the review below I have read posts by those who are complaining about CPU usage. To those people I will say the following: Bias is not a lightweight amp sim. It is something that far surpasses even the Line 6 POD HD500X in tone and playing feel, on an iPad. You can't have it all. Better to have the exceptional, that requires a faster system, than the average, like the other modelers. Please Positive Grid, don't kill the feel for "efficiency". Bias is the most amazing sounding and looking guitar related app I have ever heard/seen. Before Bias a very good new metal type heavy guitar tone was obtainable via a number of apps. Now with Bias, all the other beautiful sounds in between are finally there too. Rolling back the guitar's volume control while playing with a distorted patch can yield a really convincing semi distorted clean tone that most amp modelers fall short with. To the Positive Grid team I have one request - Please don't compromise the good playing feel and responsiveness that you have achieved in Bias (better than any other software modeler I have used) in exchange for lower latency. Thanks.

Awesome *****. I never expected this to sound so unbelievably real. I actually think Bias sounds better than any of the amps I own. I set it up like this "AudioBus > JamUp Pro > Bias > Auria" and was blown away for hours. I was not able to get it to work with GarageBand but I am sure when Apple hears how exceptional JamUp and Bias sound they will want to fix it soon. Don't buy anything else until you check out JamUp and Bias.

Issue on M1 IPad. Every 30 seconds or so, it snap, crackle, pops.

I do want a couple of additions. I'm totally impressed with this simulation. It plays and responds just as I expect a tube amp to and sounds incredible. It is missing a couple of things that are stopping me from modeling my favorite amp though. I need some 7591 power tubes and a Baxandall tone stack. Bottom line though is that it sounds amazing and is incredibly fun to play with. It is also very versatile already even without my own personal wishlist.

Only works with headphones. Like their jamup pro, it only works with headphones/external speakers 90% of the time, and none of the settings seem to give me control of this. Unplug headphones and you can see the monitor responding to your guitar but no sound no matter what you do. That's the main frustration. Using an apogee jam on an iPad4. It claimed to be fully customizable, but there's quite a lot behind IAPs, again, like JamUp Pro. Lots of potential but since it doesn't reliably work it keeps me from buying any more content and rarely gets used in my recordings.

Absolute game changer, top of the line. I can't believe this thing exists. JamUp XT was an awesome achievement in that it gave incredible sounds and built in song player (so you can play to your favorite tracks very easily), sampler, 8-track, etc. But then you introduce BIAS into the equation that links up with JamUp Pro and the possibilities are endless. I've only tinkered with this thing for 10 minutes and already found a good tone. If there is something I don't like in the sound, I can actually change it and make the perfect amp for me. Then you can easily save it out as a preset and then load it into JamUp to play along to your favorite tracks. Couldn't be happier, and for $20 I would buy this thing again in a heartbeat. With this kind of quality Positive Grid is going to be putting amp makers out of business.

Does not work properly. I wish I could give this negative stars, hours trying to make it work, only to realize that the input and output cancel each other. If I use a USB connection I get no sound, and it disables the volume control in my ipad, if I plug my headphones in it switches to the built-in input source (aka built-in mic), that's the only time I get any audio out of it, which is just noise from the mic. No information or support provided about this issue, bottom line I just threw $20 in the garbage. Don't be me, don't throw money in the garbage!!

THE BEST amp modeling on iOS!!!. Don't even bother with amplitube or other amp modeling apps. This app and Jamup make the other apps I've used sound like toys. This app is ALL ABOUT TONE. Sounds great with guitar, bass, and everything else I've run through it. It's the first app I've seen with a keyboard amp! Now us keyboard/synth players finally have some amps to run our apps through!!!

Bias delivers. Really impressed by the UI and sound quality of this app. Not only do you get 36 diff amps to start out with, but you can use those to create the perfect custom amp. I love the fact that you can change the look, knobs, faceplates etc too. Keep up the good work looking forward to any updates.

Sounds good. With some patience, you’ll get decent tones out of this. This product Just needs a built in ir loader for more flexibility.

About the only good Positive Grid app. This is about the only worthwhile app from Positive Grid left. FX is a joke, and pedal allows you to customize a distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedal yet everything sounds pretty much the same. And don't bother transferring amps into Bias FX, because if you're like me, you have sixty, and good luck transferring them into Bias FX one by one. This is, however, back when Positive Grid was good, Bias Amp and JamUp Pro were getting rave reviews and PG didn't give their attention solely to overpriced 600w modeling amps and desktop DAWs while the crowd and market that built them get ignored and lead on. Anyways, this app is decent, but without a solid companion app for effects, it's a bit useless.

A non-guitarist dream come true. Disclaimer, I'm not a guitarist. I can play guitar but I'm not well versed at it, yet. What I know is that I have just one real amp/cab combo, so I needed an app that could recreate different amps. I bought JamUp Pro and I use it for guitar, keys and vocals. Definitely gives me the life venue sound that I want for certain songs. When Bias came out, I hesitated because I already had JamUp in my device, so I thought I was set. But when I saw that I could actually build a custom amp for my voice, or an amp for iSEM, another for Magellan, etc. I saw the light. This would be my ticket to those sounds in my head, and best of all, the custom amp can be used inside JamUp to call out the other effects, just brilliant! So, with these apps, I have pretty much stopped looking for more FXs apps, I have them all here!

Not happy. Just stopped working 😩worked great & then nothing.

Amazing Flexibility and Tone. I own most of the amp modelers for IOS. The best of them to my ear is JamUp Pro. I thought that would be it until I discovered BIOS. This is by far the coolest and most useful guitar tool I own. Now I'm able to get a truly signature sound and the fact that I can custom design and name each amp is an added bonus! After designing an amp I can launch it in Jam Up and save it along side the other amp presets. So now, not only do I get most of the vintage, modern, and boutique amps I want, now I can create my ultimate sound.

Do not upgrade if you have made any purchases in Bias Amp. Please

Rip off.. So you improve and upgrade your app, but charge $15 to use it? You can’t be serious.

Do not attempt to use with iPad Mini. I’ve thrown away more than $13 before, so at that sale price I figured I’d toss the dice. I know that other reviews refer to the high CPU requirement, and if the app had a high latency option, I might have been able to enjoy (if not employ) the purported perfect tones, but even at normal latency (I didn’t even try the low setting), running my guitar through my iTrack Solo filled my speakers with far too much snap, crackle and pop to be listenable, to say nothing of usable. So the developers should either be honest and up the hardware requirements, in which case I simply would not have purchased this app, or they should give customers a high latency option. That way, I might not be able to use the app as more than an educational tool to learn about amp construction/configuration, but I would have SOME value for my money. Right now, I have none.

I hope they don't raise the price after reading my review.. What you really pay for 1: Amazing amps 2: An education in amps (tube and solid) 3: Create your physical amps on your iPad 1: The amps it comes with are all the amps I try out at music stores. The amps I wish I could afford. 2: I was worried about the learning curve in customizing my own amps. The ? icon on every edit panel tells you everything you need to know. $20 tuition for all the things you can learn here isn't bad. 3: The amps I do own are not always available. Now I can use the schematics I find online to make them on my iPad. I feel like I know my physical amps better now that I "transcribed" them on the app. And now I can try all the mods people do to their amps and not ruin my own!

Too much cracking/popping. This app was great at first, but now I can’t play any amps without insanely annoying cracking or popping every 5-7 seconds. It gets old fast. it would be five stars if it wasn’t for that.
