Maps of our World Comments & Reviews 2026

Amazing app - just know it’s not free. This app is a great way to learn about world geography. You’ve got countries, capitals (and US state capitals), rivers, mountain ranges, etc. to learn about. Keep in mind, unlocking all the features will cost $15 for the unlock all package. There is a lot of content available to learn. My best guess is that it would take a person one hour each day for a year to memorize all the material this app has to offer. This is, by far, the best geography learning app I’ve tried, and is well worth the $15.

Well Thought Out. As someone else noted, the interface of this app was well thought out. It's an "enticing" learning experience whether you're just trying to pass time or make a serious attempt to study your geography. With plans of traveling, I wanted to become more aware of my surrounding countries and the capital cities within, without just simply looking at a map. This app has an effective and FUN way of teaching that makes you want to learn more and try to level up!

Oh! How I love this app!. I have to share my enthusiasm! This is the first time I've ever wanted to gift an app, especially to people who love to learn. This is a non-competitive app that actually can teach world geography! It is effective because it is nonverbal and self-correcting, just like the Montessori manipulatives my daughter had when she was a young girl. I was a geography major in college, but I still am learning a ton about nuances and relationships about our world; locations in geographical space from this superior teaching tool. Just like people who are religious zealots, I wish I could share this with everyone. There is both a political and physical mode for learning. I've only been working on level one so far, and I know I'm a nerd, but I just love this app. Who knew there were so many lakes and rivers with names up there in Canada! ;) The app has both a learning mode and a challenge mode, and even the challenge mode only challenges your own curious self. Perfect for me because I really am not at that interested in competing with others. I just want to learn for myself for fun. In learning mode, there's no timer at all...and that is nice sometimes when I just want to browse around the world and take a leisurely look at the relationships between physical and political locations. When I feel like it, I'll change to challenge mode and realize how much I still have to learn as the timer makes my heart pound and I zoom around the world proving what I know. The beauty of it is when you get Ghana confused with Gabon, you can see how close they are; it shows your answer and the correct answer simultaneously and you can take look right then and there. For the first time since I was a young whippersnapper, I feel like I'm making new progress in really getting my geography truly down. Both iPhone and iPad are great. This is a great learning tool on my phone for when I'm just sitting there too lazy to get up, but I've been stealing my husbands iPad lately too because it is easier with small spaces to point stuff out. Nothing can compete with my 20 inch illuminated globe, (see? I admit it I'm a nerd!) but when I'm too lazy to get up and look at that gorgeous crystal sphere, this is a really nice substitute. It's hard to impress me and this does. Well worth every penny.

Learning countries fun and quick. I've had this for less than a day, and already my ability to locate countries in a map has increased dramatically. The game is just difficult enough to become absorbing. So much more effective than trying to memorize countries by staring at a map. I've purchased the full edition. Plan to eventually complete all games so I can become a geo-genius like my husband.

Just got app and made purchase.. 9/8/23 Hi, I have yet to use this app but would like to make a suggestion: Under In-app purchases, please indicate the size of the various packages. The overall app size of the starter app should be indicated as a separate size from the purchases, please. Also, I assume that more modules for India, Africa, perhaps more detailed geographic features like rivers, mountain ranges will be forthcoming...? I will update my review later on. Starting with 5 stars. I read a lot of the reviews. I have a limited budget, but understand that development is labor intensive and specialized and you should be paid for your hard work. Thank you.

Almost Perfect. This is by far the best tool on the app store for learning both the physical and political geography of our world. Allowing the ability to try out the app to see if we like it and make the full purchase after was a great decision. I certainly do not mind the small $15 payment for something that’s worth it. The formula for quizzing is both simple and effective. The app tells you the name of a location, and you must pick it out from memory. This is great for getting familiar with the names of different places, and being able to point out a place’s location after seeing the name. However, this method is not the most effective when it comes to truly memorizing the name of the location itself. Since what we are being tested on is the location of a place, rather than the name of a location, there is not as much emphasis on remembering the name of the location. Instead, the emphasis is on remembering the location when presented with the name. To remedy this, I suggest making an additional quiz option that would ask the user to type in the name of a location, rather than pick the location of a name. The app could zoom in or highlight a location, and the user would have to type what they think it is. This quiz could be advertised as a more advanced option for the more experienced users, and if desired could be an easy way to make another paid expansion. After all, no new map art is required, it only requires the coding of a new simple short-answer interface. If this were to be designed and added to the app, then it my four star review would become five👌

Love but have a question. After using this my geography got so much better in days. I get anxiety and I’m not sure why but playing this would help me calm down plus I’d learn something in the process. I do have a question and it’s the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars. I paid for the game on my old phone but since you don’t make an account it’s asking to pay again with my new phone. Not a crazy big deal but it would be nice if i could have to whole game i paid for instead of the free version. Thank you!

Fantastic, clear & a must have!. This APP is the perfect tool for those who are interested in learning about the locations & names of the countries that make up the earth. Great for the inquisitive person who wants to know the location of a country or island as stories appear on the news & current events present themselves.

Cities in relation to countries. This is such a great app! I am using it to memorize Europe and it’s working great so far! However, it doesn’t ask for the relationship between the cities and the countries. It only gives you the map and the country borders and the symbols for the capitals and cities and asks things like “Find Moldova” or “Find Saint Petersburg”; it doesn’t ask “what’s the capital of Poland” or things like that, and I am struggling to answer questions like that. The fact that I’m looking at the map helps a lot, and it would help if I didn’t need to look at a map—labeled or unlabeled—in order to tell what city is north of Albania.

Love it!. I’m of the belief if someone works they should get paid. I downloaded several; if not all the map quiz, learning games in the app store and tried each. In the end I settled on this one and paid the $14 for full version as I will get my moneys worth for me and my kid. This app allows you to try enough of it to see if you even enjoy its layout and playstyle; which I love. I hate when you get hit with ‘pay’ before there is a free section to try out. This app is fun, entertaining and its working great. ~~~Hey app creators; could you please make an app for astromomy and space? If its as cool as this app I’ll buy it too. Thanks for a truly great app that doesnt glitch. 🥰 After a week: I can’t believe how much I have learned about our world in a weeks time. I can now name all countries and I’ve moved on to islands. Once that is down I can start working on capitals, rivers, and more. Please app creators: Please make an area for ALL islands, it would be fun to jump around the world trying to locate them all.

Great for Adults, Too.. This is a great geography app! I've been looking for something like this for so long. I see no reason why it wouldn't be good for kids too, but not having all the silly cartoon colors and characters makes it especially great for adults. I also disliked that other apps forced you to play games that were obviously designed for an elementary aged child. Plus, it gives you the states, countries AND capitals. Most apps leave out the capitals and instead teach the country's flag. When's the last time the news only displayed the flag and expected people to know the country? No, what adults need to know are country and capital locations and names. This is a rare app to provide both. Finally, this app does one thing that I haven't seen ANY other geo app do: it gives you a chance to study the places BEFORE quizzing you on them. Most apps will only quiz you, forcing you to learn the correct answer by mistake. This app is now a regular part of my daily routine, as I get back into proper mental form and back to knowing where each country actually is and what their capitals are. And do yourself a favor, consider at least some of the add-ins, they only enrich it further. There's only one thing I would change: within each continental unit, I would then break down the different regions into further subcategories. When brushing up on the Middle East, do I really need to know (at THAT moment) that Brunei is a tiny country neighboring Malaysia? The same is true for Europe and Africa; there are simply too many countries to memorize in a single lesson. Other than that, it's my favorite geography app.

Bye social media!. I detoxed myself for ~2 years from social media and recently got a new phone so thought “why not?” Tragic stuff. Everybody is reduced to a braggart teenager regardless of age! Deleted all the social and downloaded NYT crosswords. Then, because I read & listen to so much news l, that I ought to get a better handle on geography so I know exactly where things are. Well made app. Not tacky. Nice and thoughtful. Could be better in some ways but it doesn’t matter to get into all that. And that is my review!

This app helped me so much. I'm a homeschooled 16-year-old and because I taught myself everything that I now know without much supervision there were some subjects that I neglected as a child in favor of spending my excess time on more "important" subjects. Geography happened to be one subject that I somehow skipped as almost entirely. Now as a 16-year-old I've realized just how imperative geography is in order to function as a well educated person. Most of my friends around my age were much more adept in geography than I was. After using this app for a couple of weeks I now have all the countries of the world memorize and I'm much better at geography than my peers. I couldn't be more pleased with this application.

This app is great. I got this app in an attempt to replace my mindless scrolling on social media with something a little better. This app has been great for that. With all the various levels, maps, and categories to choose from, it’s easy to pick a difficulty level that matches my mood at the time. And I’m learning real information while doing it! Sometimes I get curious about something on the map and go look it up on Wikipedia and that enhances what I’m learning. I feel proud of myself and accomplished after spending time with it, instead of feeling like I’ve wasted my time on social media. I bought the whole set of maps. It was worth it. There’s so much to explore!

Add aloud pronunciation of the countries!. Great app! It has allowed me to learn almost all of the countries in the world! Some suggestions to make this the best country learner app: 1) Ability to add the pronunciation of each country as you click on it! (e.g, clicking on Norway, would also say the name out loud) I find myself knowing the names of most countries but not how to say them. 2) Allow to “remove” or pause certain countries of being asked. Would be really useful as you start to master certain regions and have to go through all the countries you know to test the ones you don’t know. 3) This one is not really necessary, but add also a satellite version of the maps!

Perfect with one exception.... I asked the developer this 2 years ago when I purchased the app (which was well worth it), but when doing the capitals and cities categories, the countries aren’t labeled. It would be helpful to link the two together so we can be learning them and associating them together. Please, please make this addition. Other than that, the app is wonderful!

Great learning tool. Great learning tool. Straightforward and easy to operate. I tried the free maps for a couple hours & promptly purchased the full set. Worth every penny. I'd pay more still if they would add detailed political/physical country maps of world hot spots and major players to help further world understanding. ie Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, Sudan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordon, China, The South China Sea, The Russian Federation states etc. Our new president in the USA might even use it in lieu of his discarded security briefings to learn that the world is not just a collection of airports and hotels on a Monopoly board game.

I love this thing!. In three weeks I’ve learned all 200 of the world’s countries. I’m working on the capitals of the 50 US states, then may start on physical geography. It’s great! I upgraded and bought the entire package for around fifteen bucks. They only give a handful of country maps. I wish they had more. Still a five star rating.

Love!. Love the design, interface, everything! I had never known much about where countries were and decided I needed to change that! This app had been wonderful and in a week I already know were most countries are from the our world section, I know the African countries better than I know the United States! Highly recommend!

Missing Bodies of Water. The maps have been great for increasing my knowledge and as a quick reference. However I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the maps don’t include names of bodies of water and in my opinion that’s pertinent information on a map. If including all of the straits and gulfs... etc is too much, at least have the names of the major seas and oceans. That would be enormously helpful.

Great!!!. This is a great free geography game, and I would give it five stars but you can't chose what countries/capitals/cities to find. For example, in Africa, you can chose 3 options: 1) top 15 countries/other stuff 2)top 30 countries/other stuff 3) all 55 country's/other stuff. What if I just want to learn about the countries/other stuff in central Africa? That is literally the only criticism I have, hope you make changes!

Perfect solution for us. I have despaired of my kids ever learning countries in relationship to the rest of the world--which is critical in understanding socio-political dynamics behind current events that impact our lives. Even taking trips outside of the USA did little to help them learn where those countries were (although they have become more attuned to the differences in landscape, food, and social customs). After trying to interest them with puzzles and games, I finally stumbled on this app. They can learn at levels appropriate for their ages (the youngest is still focusing on countries only while the oldest is mastering countries, capitals, and major cities) and I can see exactly what they have learned and how much they have left to go. It is working brilliantly!

A good world map learning app for beginners at the free level. This app is very helpful, at the free level, to start learning major world countries, capitals, and cities. I have not moved up to the pay level, yet, which includes much more information. I have just read the privacy policy, and believe I feel secure enough to get the paid version. What I especially like, is that there is an interactive “training” level for learning, as well as a quiz level, so you are not thrust into the quizzes blindly.

iPhone 13 mini needs updating. Bought this app a few years back on an older iPhone. I rarely buy apps besides educational ones since I’m a teacher and want my kids to learn important things they don’t get in school. I had forgotten about this gem for a while and then recalled it when my son had me play a Geography Sporcle with him and I did abysmally. I pulled it up on my new iPhone 13 mini and handed it to my 13 yo so he could learn the geography and it was unusable. The name of the country at the top of the screen is obscured by the “bump” where the iPhone front camera is. And even at the bottom some of the bubbles that pop up with the countries names are off screen, along with the full picture of that country’s outline. So you can’t even see the shape of the country you are trying to learn! Please update this app so all iPhone users can enjoy it!! It’s an amazing educational tool and I really appreciate its value and quality. Thank you for your work.

Fantastic. I’ve had this app for 6-7 years now. It’s the best kind of app, one where you pay once for a quality product and it’s yours to use for the rest of time. It’s simple yet detailed, works flawlessly and I use it all the time. Thank you for this great product. I wish more apps would follow this buy-once model instead of relying on forced subscriptions for everything.

Excellent, effective, intuitive and fun!. As a geography nerd, I have played with many geography / geo-trivia apps. I assumed there must be something inherently difficult in producing them because they all seem so clunky, awkward and/or annoying. Then I tried this one and knew there was no reason to even keep the other apps around. Excellent, effective, intuitive and fun! (I wish I had found this sooner!)

Good tool for Repetition. I am a firm believer that repetition is necessary for solid learning. It amazes me how often I get countries mixed up and how much I need to learn more geographic basic facts. This app is great for helping you memorize the basic facts - putting names on maps. It should not be a substitute for learning more ABOUT each country, but learning the basic spatial geographic knowledge it tests on is important, and this is a great APP for that repetition and learning. Good job and Thanks to the developers.

Great App, Learned A lot. I am participating in the geography bee and I was studying for the state level until I stumbled apon this piece of gold. I learned a ton for my Bee, but one thing the devs need to fix is the placement of the smaller countries relative to the others. For example, I know for a fact since I have gone there that Monaco is fairly long compared to its width and is located right next to the French city of Nice. In the game it shows Monaco sitting right on the border with Italy. Another example is that Liechtenstein’s borders are too far within Austria’s. Fairly minor, but would enjoy if these were fixed.

Enjoying this so far, with one wish to make it better. My knowledge on geography’s improved greatly with this app! I’m proud to say I now know where every country in the world is. Now onto the capitals... However, it’d be great to have to spell out the name of each country/capital/river/ocean, etc instead of simply finding and tapping on it. There was one app like this for US states and capitals from a few years ago but I can no longer find it. It was far more effective at teaching and especially remembering because of this method of identifying places. So please dev, if you read this, consider an update that requires typing in the name perfectly to score correctly. With that change, this app would be nigh perfect!

Simple and Well Executed Way to Learn Basic World Geography. I’m a 63 YO looking to refresh my geography knowledge. I like the implementation of this app and find the visual interaction with maps a good way to learn. Only basic information available free. $15 unlocks all data/maps or lower costs for smaller subsets of data. I unlocked everything and look forward to knowing my world countries, cities, rivers etc. 5-stars.

The only app I use. I have had this app for years. I got it because I was watching jeopardy and realized how bad I was at geography. I love it for so many reasons. No ads, extremely simple graphics, no pop ups, 2 dimensional, not overstimulating. This app is extremely relaxing and has immensely expanded my knowledge of geography. Thank you to the people who developed this app and put work into it. It’s amazing.

Love it. Fun, effective!. Absolutely love, just what I'd been looking for. Weeks ago began using another global geography app when following news and had already learned so much (paired with online searches for more country info & images, history, context). THIS APP though is just what I was looking for to quiz me. Love the approach and repetitive asking of those we miss :) I study app map prior to each 'training' (=find the country quiz), finally got Tanzania (yay), and Myanmar is surprisingly large. Visual & contextual learning is so important in understanding world. I'm so far ahead of where I was weeks ago, feels great. Haven't tried the app's 'challenge' feature yet but am happy with 'training' sessions already.

Just what I was looking for. I am just an average joe trying to educate myself. I follow geopolitics and it’s so complex that I feel it’s important to learn the basics of our world to try and understand the bigger picture. I used this app free for 2 days, read the reviews, and then happily paid to do the full unlock. It’s a polished app that does exactly what you want; I learned every country in Asia while I was pooping at work.

Highly recommend to anyone interested in geography!. Wow, this is by far the best (Free!) geography app I've encountered! Excellent design makes geography easier to learn, and Fun! Learn all countries, their capitals and top cities using regional maps and complete world map (Free!). The quizzes in the training section really enhance learning experience and help us retain the information we've learned! (Also Free!) I'm ready to start the challenge section after just a couple days of training (a few hours spread across two days) and once I've completed all the challenges, I'll definitely purchase the physical maps (more cities than the free version and include physical landmarks like mountains, rivers, etc.)! Love this app!!

Absolutely Amazing. Before using this app I knew absolutely nothing of geography. I couldn’t locate the 10 largest countries in the world let alone their capitals, or even the states bordering mine in the US. After just a few days of using this app I can locate each US state, locate the 120 largest countries in the world on a map, locate every country in Europe as well as the 25 largest cities and capitals. I have enjoyed expanding my knowledge of geography and appreciate being apple to visualize where cities or countries are on the map when I hear about them or read about them. My only request is adding countries as maps such as France, currently the app only let’s you study a few countries such as the US Germany Canada the UK etc.

Very good app with one exception. I have been trying to learn all the countries in the world, and so far the app has been very helpful, and enjoyable to use. I noticed that they changed the capital of a country in Africa that had recently changed the city. Which I commend. However, while trying to cross off the United States challenges, I really ran into a problem with the capital cities not being marked with a star or other signifier. There is never a chance to in the training to learn the locations of the capitals in reference to the largest cities, so you see them for the first time in the challenger. Many are quite close to each other and this makes it really really hard to pass. Other than this, great app, would recommend, but if they developers would consider the markings for the capital cities that would be a huge improvement.

Developer - please change map colors!. I love this app so much. The only thing I dislike is the color of some options- such as Canada’s provinces and Africa's countries. It is very difficult visually. The entire world countries, where they are white and the ocean is blue, by far looks the best. I avoid doing the ones with those reddish or dark colors because it is very irritating to the eye. I’d recommend they switch all of the maps to the white and blue like the map is when you study all 200 countries. Otherwise, this app is incredible and has taught me so much!

Great but needs more options. Love the app but it really needs more training and challenge options. There is no effective way to train on more difficult locations/geographic features without doing a much longer training session that covers all features of that kind (i.e. all countries, all capitals, etc). It would be great if there were shorter but random trainings, rather than only shorter “top” trainings that always include the same prioritized countries or capitals or cities, etc. Another suggestion would be to have challenges that focus on just countries or just capitals or just cities, etc than only challenges that are a mix of these (depending on political or physical preference). Thank for a great app. My kids really enjoy it!

Exactly what I was looking for!. My son’s elementary school has a US and a world map painted on the blacktop, both unlabeled. I could name all 50 states but I was embarrassed how few countries I could name! I tried many apps but this was the one that functioned exactly as I’d hoped: quizzes you by naming a country and has you tap it. It tells you when you’re wrong and points out the correct location. Vector-based map lets you zoom and scroll. High functionality and really helps you learn!

Absolutely phenomenal app. I’ve used this app for the past three years to educate myself and all three of my boys. Beautifully created and thought out. All three of my boys now know where every country in the world is, and one of them knows the capitals of those countries as well with the other two not far behind. I, myself, have learned all 200 countries and capitals, all 436 of the major cities on the continents, all mountain ranges, lakes, rivers, deserts, and seas on each of the continents....and I’ve completed all of the major cities, states, capitals, mountain ranges, lakes, rivers, and deserts for both the United States and the United Kingdom. I’m currently working on the same for Germany, and I just noticed (today) that the app developers added even more geography to memorize for Canada and Australia!!! You guys are awesome. Hey, would you consider adding maps for Russia and China next? I think that would be amazing.

Best geography app ever!. With finals coming up I had a problem, geography is not my strong suit and I needed to memorize the geography of Asia. I found this app and downloaded it, thinking that it was going to be another terrible, ad filled, in app purchase ridden, app. I was very wrong. The app had few ads and and they weren't too intrusive. This app helped me memorize all the countries in Asia in about 2 hours and I got 44/45 on my geography test!

Alaska isn't an island... As someone who needs to fly in order to grasp the world as a whole I had difficulties learning about geography in school. I found out Alaska wasn't an island a few months ago and that's when I knew I had a problem.. (In my defense Alaska is down by Hawaii on the flat maps) This application is an absolute savior! I'm frugal,I NEVER buy apps but I cannot wait until I master the free portion so I can buy everything else it has to offer!!

Beautiful. This app is amazing. I’m always for free education, and with Americans being notoriously bad at geography, I wanted to learn. Not only is the lack of ads and in-app purchases refreshing, but the simple and user-friendly design makes learning easier for someone as ADHD as myself. Along with basic identification of countries, there are also unlockable maps (such as physical maps and major cities) that are earned by succeeding in learning countries, rather than paid for. I highly recommend this app for anyone that wants to learn geography in an simple and easy manner~

Great app for learning geography. Just got this about a week ago. Proud (and sad) to say, I've already completed all available "challenges". My knowledge of world geography has easily quadrupled in a few days. I do wish that after completing all the challenges that there was some kind of prize. Especially for beating "Our World" Level 3 in less than 5 minutes/no mistakes??? Not an easy task...and no reward when/if you finally beat it. A bit of a let down. I guess I will have to settle for hoping someone calls "geography" at a trivia night. Anyways, great app. Definitely one of the best I've ever had. Easily 5 stars if not for the ads and lack of "rewards" for challenges.

Great App, Very Useful. Hello! I think that this is a wonderful app; it really helps me on my quest to learn more about the world I live in. I trust the reliability of the information, the mechanics work great, and the features it has are very useful. I do have one small idea for a possible feature in the app, if the developers will see this and humor me. I often only read/see the names of the different locations on maps, and therefor don’t know how to pronounce many of the place names I am learning. My imagined solution to this would be to add a feature that could be turned on and off in settings, where if you click on a place/landmark on the map, it will say the name out loud for you. Overall, very positive experience. Would recommend!

Map trainer review. 45 years ago I met a fellow from China, via Hong Kong, who could draw a world map freehand and correctly mark the nations—in Chinese. He was matter-of-fact about it, not knowing how unusual that skill was in an Indiana high school; it was commonplace in the old country. I’ve admired that ability all this time, and I finally decided to emulate him; I believe that this online map exercise, if I attempt it daily, will let me copy his feat by Christmas. Stay tuned.

Get it. This app is amazing, I’ve used it for years. Two ways it could be even better, please listen because I really think it could benefit: add language maps so we can study where world languages are spoken, and make a globe overlay so we can study on the most accurate and in fact only accurate map. Mercator is distorted! Gloves are infinitely superior! Please take this advice, I’m begging you!

Easy update. Is a great app and in the ideal format. The app is Anglocentric, and it would be great if there were more options outside of the Western world. Such as India, China, or Japan. Also there aren’t as many cities as there should be. It’s much better to know the 100th most important city in a place than the 40th most important river, yet countries like China only have 5 cities included while it has 9 rivers. Would love more cities and more countries. Wonderful app otherwise though.

Impressed. Finally I’ve found a well-designed educational geography app that doesn’t ruin the experience with pop up ads and obnoxious ‘pay to play’ interruptions. The more in-depth additions to the game are nicely separated from basic gameplay, and priced clearly. I recommend this app for geography buffs! I look forward to buying the additions.

Brilliant design for learning!. I am very picky when it comes to interfaces, and this was very well thought-out. I have been abstaining from video games and sometimes need something to distract myself. This is effortless learning. The more you do, the better everything will fit together, as countries help you remember mountains which will help you remember rivers, and so on. I highly recommend giving this a try and playing long enough to get into it. My only complaint is that I wish they would add maps. They have continent maps and four national maps, but I'd love to buy more national or regional maps. I would spend a lot of money on this app mastering countries and regions in detail.

Excellent app!. Great set up, easy to use

Great app very positive!. Would be great to see a “world leaders” map as an add on. Very happy with this app. Great content.

Well designed. Thumbs up.. Surprisingly good. I'm slowly working my way through countries, with capitals and cities to come still in the free version. Bug-free and simple, thoughtful design. I'm super stingy when it comes to upgrades, but I'm actually considering paying for the full version (which I thought, when I downloaded the lite version, "ya, dreamin', I'll never pay THAT much for an app".)

The best geography app around. Tried many... most are very average. This app is exactly what I was after.

Learning without the fuss. No jingles no animations just focus on the memory game of learning cities and countries. I have tried a heap of these games. This one is up to date politically, never crashes and is easy to learn from.

I love this game. Love to play with my kids, they will ace geography for sure!

Fantastic. Like the game helps me learn all the countries still struggling but will eventually know all of them after this app.

Love it!. Having fun and building my general knowledge at the same time.

Finally What I'm Looking For!. Finally, this is the app that I've been looking for. After trying almost every other geography teaching app out there, this is the best. Perfect for all ages, and a great school enhancement. Well done!

Excellent. Simple, sleek, and elegant. And very, very effective.

Thank you for 12 questions. Good day

Fantastic!. This is such a cool app! I used to be a master at Geography, but I have forgotten lots. Luckily, thanks to world maps I have now gotten much better at it again 🤩!I now know more than I used to! This app is anazing app is really helpful! However,I don’t like how you have to pay money to unlock parts of it ☹️. It is still really fun though! Love it 🥰💖😍! It has helped at school to. Great job!

Very very average I would save my money and move on. I unlocked a country and nothing happened when I opened it up it 2.99 for nothing very disappointed

Great game. Very good for the brain power and very addictive. I'm addicted to wanting to do better

Maps of the World. Great app for learning some geography basics.

Add pronunciation. Please

Beware of purchasing full version if you intend to share across devices. I downloaded Maps of Our World and was impressed enough with the free version to want to pay the $22.99 for the full version. I checked that it allowed sharing across devices and supposedly it does. I downloaded the full version and was charged $22.99 but it does not share across my devices (all other apps have done so and continue to do so; there are no technical issues on that front). I would give the free version 5 stars (definitely a good app) but it seemingly also won’t let me rate the full version- this was the only one I was able to rate. Content-wise, a great app, just seems a bit extortionary if it doesn’t actually allow family sharing.

Great learning tool. This app is the best I could find in terms of learning all the countries and cities of the world. It is great because of the different modes for testing/games, so you can start with the major countries in a region and move up a level to include all the smaller unfamiliar countries. A great tool for kids seeking to learn their world geography - my 9yo son is addicted!

World Maps. I have recommended this app to all my fellow 'trivia' buffs.

Great Educational App. This is a fantastic educational app for those wanting to learn more about the geography of the world, or planning travel. 5 Stars

This app is not much help to anyone. Red

World Maps. This is not the app I wanted. I wanted an app that was a map of the world. If, for example I wanted to see the countries between Australia and Japan I wanted an app to give me that opportunity. This doesn’t seem to be the case.

More than perfect!. Great for teaching yourself or kids where everything in the world is! 🌎🌍🌏

Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Simple to use, covering all countries in the world. This app is very well done and I highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn locations of countries and capitals.

Very easy to use. Easy to use and learning well

Love this app!. It’s set up so well and makes learning so fun. Would absolutely love if the app had a feature where is pronounced everything as well so you could learn by listening as well as reading. This would also help to remember complicated names if I knew how to pronounce them haha

Best geography app. The app is easy to use but comes with challenges. I love how it’s so easy to choose what you want to test yourself on and it’s not extremely harsh on yourself. It is also extremely well made and laid out which is awesome. It is finally the geography app I’ve been waiting for!

This app is awesome!. I've always been really bad a geography and thought I wouldn't be able to learn any of it without grabbing a text book or atlas and rote learning while I was at home. This app makes it super easy and extremely convenient to learn geography while on the go or during any downtime. The developers have done an amazing job at making the interface easy to use and knowing that they regularly add and update maps is a plus.

Amazing app, one suggestion. I love playing this, either pop quizzing myself for an upcoming test, or just playing it in my free time. I’ve found my self improving a lot from using this trainer. I recommend this app to my peers and to you, this is arguably the best app to learn countries. Even though there are payments for certain areas are required, they are fair and affordable. The one suggestion I would benefit from is learning the flags of each countries too. I would put them next to the country I’m guessing the location of. Anyway, recommend for all, thanks for your time.

Easy to use, Easy to learn. This app has a great learning tool, that helps you to become familiar with countries in context to where they are with other countries.

Geography is my best subject right now!. Okay, So I love this app so much, it has all a map, training and quizzes. I love geography and this is just the right app for me.

Best Map Challenge App. Have tried a few and this is the best one on the market. Great interface, heaps of challenge options.

Money money money. So basically yeah this game is fun but really? You made the harder maps aka the more fun maps cost money! Like dude how am I supposed to play this game knowing that I’m spending actual money just to get to the next level! I would have given this 5 starts if it weren’t for the payments needed. Grow up and make them free

Got me worried. I love this game but was mightily disconcerted to discover that they have got Australia totally wrong with the addition of a State/territory called Jervis Bay! It’s no such thing. Now I’m worried that other things I have been learning could be wrong too. I can’t contact the developer so have had to put it in this review.

Great Learning App. I really like learning about countries and capital cities with this App. Very clear and steps well sequenced.

Well done please include …. Flags game required please! Will pay to unlock Thanks

Great App. Thought I knew it all - this app proved me wrong.

Pay to unlock. Don’t pay can’t unlock after level 1

Good fun and educational. I can't stop playing it

Very expensive. Only the affluent get to learn these days

More, Please. I am yearning for more countries: Japan, China, Indonesia & Russia seem obvious additions. Hell! Why stop there? What about India? So many regions & geographical features. Do not be shy. Some colour choice should be hip. It would be very good to be able to chose black & white, for instance; or, for the extravert, any other psychedelic colour scheme that charms, or is easy on the eye. You have obviously already put a lot of good work into this. Why stop?

Skittles. Very educational, love it!

Love it! Learning so much about the world!. I wasn't good at geography at school but this app has helped me learn so much about every part of the world. Thanks to the developers...it's a good one, for learning, playing and being 'geographically challenged'. Well designed too!

Too expensive for what it is. App deleted.

Best Geography App for Learning!!!. I am terrible at geography and just by using this app in the last few days it has improved my knowledge dramatically! Highly recommend this app to anyone

Learn the world!. Great app! I wanted to learn the countries and capitals of the world, this allowed me to do just that! Simple, clear user design. You can choose the number of countries you want to focus on, allowing you to build up to world domination. You can also select to concentrate on particular continents. Perfect for it's intended purpose!

Geo app. Best app evet

Maps of Our World. Love this app! Easy, quick learning. Great price for all you get. Highly recommend this

Great. In love with this app. Effective and fun learning. Some suggestions based on my personal use of the app for future features / improvements: (1) under “view map”, please consider adding an option to view a combined political and physical map so that countries, cities, mountains, rivers, etc. can be seen and identified by tapping in a single view (after all, isn’t that how the world really is?) (2) please consider a function for users to add personal study/travel/news notes to countries, cities etc elements accessible on the maps. Again, great job.

Great!. Much more effective than other apps.

Ms. Excellent app. Easy to use and very fun!

Fun. I enjoy the training. I have not tried the challenges. It is fun and educational.

Great map!. Great map - would like some minor revisions if possible - for the physical geography challenges, the bubbles for the desserts are hard to see. Please make the contract better

My favourite app. Great learning tool. Found this to be the best app out there. Wish you would add islands to the program.

Overpriced maps. Such a basic app but great for teaching kids about geography. However, additional maps cost money per continent. What a shame.

Best App to learn about The World. The is probably the best app to use to learn about the world. It’s really neat and awesome to use. If you are studing for a Geography test I would always come to this. Thanks for the Great App!

I’ve only played for 5 minutes or something. I’m improving I think. I started with 0 out of 12 and now I got 6 out of twelve which is good I think. And I’m only 13 and know like nothing about the world maps ‘n stuff. Soooooo I guess this is a good thing for learning about maps

Super helpful. They help me learn my countries all over the map and the training is really good

WOW!!!!. Wow. That’s the first word that comes to my mind when I play at World Maps. The app is so easy to use and I love its simplicity but useful!! But it would be even greater if the full app was available for free.

Great app for learning countries and capitals of the world. I downloaded a few geography apps and this is the best one. The maps are nice and clear, the quiz function is easy to use. I happily paid for the full version - refreshing that it wasn’t an annoying subscription model. I do wish that large bodies of water could be labelled on the maps.

very good. very good

Most amazing and inspiring app ever. What a wonderful app this is! Easy to use, applicable, fun, fun, fun, addicting, better than any game and a game itself. And now I know so much more than I did before about our world. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Not impressed.... How can this app be rated 4+ with the horribly inappropriate ads that appear? The app itself is fun and educational, but I'm afraid it will deleted from my device now. Please think of what this could be doing to young minds.

LOVE IT. LOVE IT this app helped a lot

Best Geo App, but where’s the love for Canada!?. Best geography quiz and training app I’ve found. It’s challenging, fun and really great to use to learn quickly. BUT........... As a Canadian I’m pretty disappointed that only 4 cities make it on to the map and zero provinces are included. Would be nice to see some more of Canada represented, maybe then our neighbours in the United States could learn a little more about our beautiful country.

Best tool. Worth every penny

Love this app. Found no other like this one in the app store or play store. By far the best app of this genre, albeit a bit buggy when trying to scroll sometimes. I recommend this to any wannabe geography nuts

Amazing app. This app is amazing, I just love it. I just wish that France and Canada would have their own categories as well such as Germany or UK.

Fun & educational. This game sharpens ones sense of where exactly the countries you read about are in the world. If u get it wrong in the training mode, the game tells you the name of the country or city u picked and shows u where the target is. You get another chance to locate the misplaced country later in the sequence. With a little effort, ones sense of geography improves markedly

Well thought through and most informative, but. ...for the prices you’re asking to unlock categories is far too steep, and that takes the fun out of learning.

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for in a geography app.

Fun. Fun map game, good to learn countries and cities

Great!. Great app. Very professional. Get the add ons, totally worth the $

Cool!. The population of Canada actually is 39 million people

Really awesome!!. Really awesome! Exactly what I was looking for! I now know the entire world map!

Very nice. Very nice and it helps me for school but i cant afford the packs but thats fine But its a very helpfull app

I love this app. This app has helped me learn the location of every country and its capital, as well as the world’s major cities, rivers, deserts, mountains, and lakes. I started from almost no knowledge. The price was very affordable for the knowledge and experience it offers. Learning geography has helped me get to know people from around the world and process conversations better. I only wish this app had more content. Specifically, more major cities to learn, and more countries to learn in-depth, such as India.

Great. This is so GOOD than my other world game

Free maps better than unlocked ones. I was impressed with the colour and maps used in free part of app. I purchased the USA map and it looked like a 10 year olds drawing. Not impressed as i had to pay to unlock that map. Won’t pay to unlock anymore

Cool app. Ça m’aide à étudier

Great for Learning and Great for Reference. Need to find a country in a hurry without having to use other apps where to have to do a lot of clicking around before you get your answer? Just open this app, select the continent and voila! Up comes the map. But it’s real selling feature is it’s use as a training aid. There’s the training mode where you select the continent and it’ll ask 12 or so questions - where cities and/or countries are on the map. When you feel prepared enough, select the test mode and try your best. The app keeps track of scores too! For various low fees, you can unlock more tests. I’ve test-driven other map apps, but here we have the definite winner. [Due to my lengthy review here, you may think I’m an owner of the app or a stakeholder, but I’m not! I’m just a happy customer!] Jeff B.

Missing achievements. Missing achievements after reinstalling. Pretty annoying ! Just because I haven't played it for a few weeks, you've undone what I already achieved. And because it's difficult to build up points that's pretty discouraging !!

Fantastic learning tool. Highly addictive!!

I M PSYCHO 4 THIZ APP!!!!!!!!. I M PSYCHO 4 THIZ APP!!!!!!!! Mmmmmm......

Not much for free. Didn’t mind the app but you won’t get to do much without paying.

Great. Easy to use. Clear images. Very helpful

Good idea but need tweaking. I like the idea and the play is fun, but the banner on the bottom often interferes with seeing the whole map.

Excellent for Geography Trivia. This is the best app I've seen for learning geography trivia: countries, cities, rivers, etc. Practice mode and performance stats help you remember, and the challenges are fun. I really like how the map accurately selects where I point, so my score's not punished for a poor interface.

Great App. Great app overall: easy/convenient to use, up-to-date. I’ve only used the free maps, which have everything I need. I don’t really see the point in paying for the other maps. They seem pretty expensive, although they could be really good and worth it for all I know. The game part of the app is great, although I would add modes with less countries, cities, or capitals. 50 takes a while and even 25 shouldn’t be the shortest one. I think a mode with 10 would be perfect. If I could rate this app out of 100, it would get between a 90 and a 95, but because I can’t do that here, I guess it’s getting 5 stars (lucky!).

Learn. Great app to learn about more about the world. I quickly was able to learn how to place tens of countries I never thought twice about and only heard of randomly kn the news. I payed the 8$ to unlock it because the ads were kinda obnoxious and I wanted more maps but it was totally worth it.

Amazing. Clean, and easy to use. Best way to slowly learn all the countries of the world while on the go!

Several major physical features are missing and unlisted in this app. Good interface, but a lot of important physical features are missing. For example, in the list of the top 75 rivers of the world, major rivers such as the St. Lawrence River, Irrawaddy River, and Yellow River (Hwang-He) are not listed, while several less important ones are listed. Unless someone updates the content to ensure that this app has the major listed rivers and other important features, I will not change my rating.

AWESOME!. This game is really great for studying for the GeoBee. It helps with remembering names of countries. I would highly recommend it for those who are studying for the GeoBee, or those just seeking fun. The only thing I would recommend is for all the levels to be unlocked. Though overall this is a great game!! ;) :)

Geography. This is wonderful! Am so tired of all the silly games; puzzles and word games are okay, but this app takes the cake! I'm 76, and like to learn new things, even tired of the Spanish lessons. Am just beginning, but really like knowing where theses countries are when they are discussed on T.V. Looking forward to learning more and more!

Best Learning Countries app out there. There shouldn’t even be any other country puzzle apps, this seems to be the only good one. I tried two others before this, I don’t know why it isn’t the first one recommended. A+

great but has some flaws. I love the app and the learning game part. i'm a little annoyed that every time i want to go back to the menu i have to click through a full screen game ad. If there was a pop-up allowing me to opt out of the ads for a fee i would buy it immediately..

Awesome Game!. The graphics and animations are great. The gameplay is good as well. Great learning tool that makes geography fun. I would love to see some player interaction aspect added to the game. Player rankings, player versus player challenges, and other things like that would put a fun and exciting twist on the game. Overall great game!

LOVE IT!!. Just what I was looking for, super high quality app. I really enjoyed using it and so far I’ve learned the location of all the countries their capitals, as well as physical geography! Super great app! It would be great if you could add individual tallest mountains and territories / disputed areas.

Could Use Serious Improvements!. While the maps, in general, are ok, for young students up to maybe 7th grade, they don’t hardly show Central America, and does not show Antarctica at all! I don’t recall it showing the North Pole area, either! With Points Of Interest added also, along with all countries areas outlined, this could truly be an educational app for EVERYONE, of all ages!

A great geography quiz. It’s a simple set up without over convoluting map studies. It doesn’t quite have as much geography depth as an Atom Games quiz, but may be better for surface knowledge on locations of countries, capitols, and other basics to help you learn world geography or to help you brush up on it.

Best App for learning geography. I hated this subject when I was in school, but as an adult I’ve tried to master it in order to be good at trivia games, crosswords and just to increase my knowledge and awareness of of other countries. I’ve found this app to be the best to first learn countries, then capitals and then bodies of water and mountains.

Fantastic!. I've wanted an app like this for years. It's so crisp, easy to use, and effective. In a few enjoyable hours over two days, I went from being able to locate maybe 5-6 African countries to knowing all 55 with their capitals along with the 75 biggest cities. I'll probably buy the physical maps as well.

Best geography app. This is the best app for learning world geography, in my opinion. I would like to see them add a feature that would play an audio clip of the proper pronunciation of each location. I would definitely pay a few bucks just for that.

WOW--best map app out there. I have never, in my five years of IPhone ownership, written an App store review. I had never even considered it until I downloaded this app. Great layout and design, simple user interface, fantastic features. I'm an app developer myself, and I'm extremely impressed.

Awesome App!. This app is so awesome!! It really helped me nail my Africa countries for my Social Studies test and is just overall a fun app. The only drawback would be that you have to buy the physical maps, but if you’re a kid like me, you can just ask for it for your birthday😉. I hope this helped! Bear

Useful. This app is easy to use and can be used to learn to identify where countries, cities, lakes, rivers, mountains and seas are around the world. There are options to focus on just certain countries but the choices of countries seems odd. I’d love to see more options and more counties. Overall well done.

Great game. I could probably point out the position of 20 countries on a map before I started playing and in just under 2 weeks I can do 70-80. Great layout and learning mechanics, easily the most fun way to learn geography I’ve ever seen.

great learning tool. I am an adult who is geographically ignorant and am tired of being so. This app has worked great as a learning tool. The tests really help with learning and do a great job of repeating items you have missed to help you learn it even in the middle of the challenge. My only concern has been some possible errors in the map. For instance, in one area Hawaii appears to be its own country.

Great app for learning!. I'm so excited to have learned so much geography from this app! Can't wait to master it all. The touch response is very accurate which helps minimize frustration. I like the way it quizzes me. The only thing I'm curious about is how the "top cities" are chosen - maybe the largest populations? Definitely recommend.

Best geography app available, but missing one key feature. This app is so simple and so close the perfect. The only feature I feel like it’s missing is some sort of daily challenge.

Worth it, would be better if has pronunciation. It has everything I'm looking for in a map learning application -- learning, test, capitals, rivers-- except the pronunciation of country names. Some of them could be really hard to say. I used a dictionary when learning "Kyrgyzstan" and "Ulaanbaatar".

Great app!!. I love this app! Being someone who isn’t very proficient at geography, this has helped me a lot. I wish you didn’t have to pay for more maps but that’s just my opinion....all in all, very useful app and I would definitely recommend!

Great, but it needs a little extra something. I really enjoy this app. I’ve learned a lot more about geography than I previously had. It’s easy to use and is a great way to challenge me. I do have one complaint, I wish when you clicked on the right country or city you could hear the correct way to pronounce it. That would be an added bonus for learning. I hope this can get added to the app.

Love it!. Recently I realized my geography skills could definitely use some work... I downloaded 4 different apps and I ended up deleting all the others when I started using this one. Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much, my scores started improving drastically after just a few training sessions!

Awesome learning curve!. I started off with a super embarassingly low score and my last score (after about a dozen games) I'm getting 49 out of 50 countries right. It has a good way of making you go back to the ones you missed during the session...to reinforce the "lesson". Love this game!

Gorgeous App!. I love being able to take this app out anywhere and having the world at my fingertips. It's beautifully designed and easy to use. I have every intention of purchasing an upgrade to get even more features.

Informative. I and enjoying this app thus far, there seems to be a problem when you study for North America, I cannot proceed and have to close out the app every time.

'Alaska is not an island'- ditto.. Am finishing an advanced degree and one of the final exams involves a prof opening an atlas with no markings on it other than topography and asking questions for 30 minutes. Was petrified, but then I bought this app, which is addicting like candy crush, but you know, informative.

Awesome!😀. I love this app because it helped me to learn an enormous amount of countries in a short period of time. I encourage this app to anyone with an interest in geography. Great for all ages. One thing I might do is make some more challenges otherwise I think the app is flawless. Download it with no hesitation!!!

Unprecedented. This app honestly makes me love geography now. It's actually super fun to learn the physical and political maps and I'm totally addicted! I ended up buying the full version to unlock everything and I'm STILL wishing I had more. Best app ever!!! I'd probably pay $50 more if I could

Great Geography App. I was on a long road trip and looking for something to keep me busy when I downloaded this app. I wanted to learn works geography better and this app had me instantly hooked. Love the different difficulty options and the inclusion of capitals and major cities!

Rivers too!. This is the 1st app I've found that includes major rivers! It's quite comprehensive and I am definitely going to purchase the entire package as soon as I master a few of the free maps. For what you get, it's totally worth the price. Thank you for this map app!!!!!!

Almost perfect. I LOVE this app. It truly helps you learn geography quickly and has a learner friendly interface. It has been quite fun to learn geography this way. There are 195 recognized countries and this app has 200… I just wish they could separate the territories/unrecognized states.

Much better than others. Hi, I’m a seventh grader studying for Geography quizzes, and this app is way better! I’ve tried a couple of others, and this one is better. There are enough free quizzes to get started. If you want to buy the extra maps that would be good, but the free is just fine for a while.

Love it!. Fun and educational - I have learned all the countries of the world in 2 months and it is fun! I love to play “Worldle” and this app has taught me so much, I am able to come up with the correct answer almost every day! $14 is a bargain for all I have learned. Thank you for creating this fun and informative app!

Geography is important. I was thinking of buying a Geography coloring book like we had in History class to refresh myself of the countries in each continent. I'm so glad I found this app instead. Easy to use and makes learning fun and motivating. Thanks for creating this :)

Very neat feature for your memories sake. I like the app already. One of my favorite features is during training the app reparare frequent missed countries I forget. I hope to use it more often in my free time.

Most Features Suddenly Behind Paywalls. Long-time users of this app have raved about it with good reason. Here was a comprehensive geography resource provided free of charge! At least it used to be. Suddenly, all but the most basic features have been made into dozens of in-app purchases that each cost as much as an average app. I can even understand the need to monetize the app, but suddenly taking away dozens of features loyal users have already been using for years was probably not the best strategy.

This app knows how the brain works!. I have used other geography apps and lovers them but this is by far superior! I love how with each continent it starts with a small group that you master then add a larger group and then the entire continent. I do wish you could zoom in on the maps so that you could see where the name of a country is referring to.

Suprised at good reviews. I downloaded this app because it had tons of good reviews. After using it for a bit I was surprised because you have to pay to use even the most basic of maps. The apps gives you the bare basics and everything beyond that is behind a pay wall. It seems most of these reviews are from before an update that took all the maps away from the free version. Good concept, but too expensive.

If only it spoke!!!. Everything is perfect about this app, except it doesn’t speak! My four-year-old son loves geography, and he can read pretty well, but many of the words he has trouble with because there is no audio speaking the names of the locations and bodies of water, etc. This is on our wish list! We very much hope the developer adds adds a narration/ voice!! Pretty please??

Hi. Pretty good close to four stars but closer to five stars. You could make u able to write it out or something else without options and make not everything you have to pay for.

Easily the most I’ve learned from an app. Unlike the vast majority of things I use my phone for, I feel like I’m doing something semi-worthwhile when I’m on this app. The app’s well designed and they’ve made it easy and enjoyable to learn the whereabouts of countries, cities, and geographical features.

Great app. So I visited some friends recently, and we played Where in the World? Honestly, I was so embarrassed trying to guess where things were (I thought Haiti was in Africa 😁). This app is great for memorizing locations and helping to test that memory, highly recommend.

Such a great app. Presentation is exactly what I was looking for. Simple, easy to use and fun. Bought the full map package. Quiz myself instead of mindlessly scrolling throughout the day. Definitely recommend.

Best Geography App for iPad. I've tried all of them. This one is nice on the eyes (e.g. no stupid fonts), nice on the ears (e.g. no stupid sound effects), intuitive, and bug-free. It's also thorough, with training as well as quizzing for a solid breadth of political and geological locations. I got the paid content within a couple of days and have not looked back.

Awesome!. I like this app a lot! I'm in college and needed a geography refresher for some of my classes. This really helped to memorize because you can learn a few at a time and build on it. It's also a very simple a straightforward design. I was able to learn all 55 countries in Africa in a matter of an hour or so. Loved this!

Good but needs some options. I like this game for learning geography. However, it’s not possible to change the language of the game; it’s always based on the phone’s language. I keep my phone in a different language but would like to use the app in English. So kind of a bummer.

Addicting Challenge. I am addicted to this game. It gives training which ultimately is teaching you and then you play the challenge. It is not a brainless game you walk away from feeling as though you have wasted time, you walk away feeling smarter. Love It!

Great app with some minor inaccuracies. I love the format of this app and it's great for learning and memorization. However, it's outdated or mistaken on a couple of things, such as the capital of Sri Lanka, which it still lists as Colombo instead of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte. I think it does this on a few countries that have two capitals. Still 99% accurate but beware minor errors/incomplete answers

Love it!. Great app for learning geography. After just a couple of weeks of sporadic usage I know (almost) every country. Compared to other free maps apps, the ads aren't super invasive- I see a short ad after every challenge, which I certainly don't mind given the quality of the app.
