Translink Comments & Reviews 2026

Pretty good. Trip planner is unreliable and it doesn’t have many of the features of the last app. However, I like the ability to pin routes (even if it requires a time frame to work)

Awful. The trip planner on this new app is close to useless. It recommends circuitous routes using multiple modes of transport and cannot find the simple and shorter ones. Try putting in a route between two stations on the same train line and I get a route telling me to take the train halfway and two buses for the other half. Timetables are nowhere to be found. You’re better off using the website to schedule a trip. The old MyTranslink app worked much better, but it expired as of 29 August 2025. I hope the TransLink management look at this review and update this woefully inadequate app.

Don’t pmo lil bro. Can you even call this an upgrade? The only thing it added to my life was frustration and anger. Every morning I dread waking up and using this stupid app to make my commute. The old app, on the other hand, was a dream. It showed exactly where the bus was, how much time it took for you to walk to the bus, and how long it would take you to get there. Yes the new one does this too but it’s so freaking confusing and weird. I just feel stupid trying to navigate this app even though I’ve used a phone my whole life. Not only this, but I am really bad at math and can’t figure out what the time is as it is in military time and has no setting to change it to 24 hour time. There are too many numbers and too much writing that makes this extremely difficult to use. It also shows the longest flippen route ever like I know there’s shorter routes cuz I’ve taken them before but it just doesn’t show up. I am a teenager and have no other means of transport because I CANT DRIVE. FRICK YOU AND FRICK THIS APP DONT TALL TO ME UNLESS YOU CHANGE BACK OR INVENT TELEPORTATION

The older myTransLink was much better. I have used the older myTransLink app for some time and it was much better that the latest TransLink app. I could start typing the name of a business I frequently visit and myTransLink would complete the name after short amount of typing, but TransLink requires most of the name and often still does not locate it. In myTransLink it would quickly calculate the best route even if it required a decent walk. Even if I type the exact address, I have to type the whole thing and it has to so exact, no close spelling. Also when at home and I try to use current location to start from it gives a nearby address more than a block from home and it won’t even allow me to enter my exact address. The old app would allow me to quickly plan a journey even with typing errors and present a wider range of options. The new TransLink takes much longer, my typing has to be so much more exact and provides a very slim range of alternatives; it is just so disappointing and nowhere near as intelligent.

Complete failure of an app. This is a lesson that has to be learned again and again in the app development world. If you re-write an app from scratch you need to include a function to import data from the old app and at least try to match functionality in the old app! Seriously sequels to games can import save data, why not regular apps? I have used the old MyTranslink for years now, since 2015. I’ve curated about two dozen favourite stops, locations and services. With this new app, I now have to manually search for each one and star it manually. What a joke. I've already had to re-organise and re-save many bus stops due to the BCC changing their bus timetables back in July 2025. It's also missing features from the old app like: - assigning a custom name to a saved location ("Work", "Home" etc) and being able to use that in the trip planner, - being able to go back by swiping right from the far left side of the screen, the back button is way too small; I have to press it more than once about 50% of the time - you also can't see a relative how-much-time-left in minutes ("5 minutes from now") indicator for when the next departure at a stop is going to leave (it only shows the clock time, 9:05am etc, forcing you to make that calculation on your own) - No configurable notification times! The old app allowed you to set the times of day to receive notifications. How can you release a re-worked public transport app with even less notifications! - You can’t save a bus route or train service as a favourite! This was really handy to view departures in advance for a particular service. I’m sorry but if this meant to be an improvement over the old app, it’s a shambles. How can you be so blind to your users!? Also saving a favourite destination causes a crash. But oh well with an app this poorly built, I guess who cares about fixing bugs right?

Good so far. So I downloaded the new translink app and I don’t understand the negative reviews. The app is easy to use and plan journeys (with reminder notifications sent for upcoming trips) which is exactly what I needed. I can easily save favourite trips and the trips themselves are very detailed, even suggesting alternative routes and buses in case you need it. The look of the app is easy to understand and see stops and destinations. All in all it’s pretty good, I don’t understand why some reviews say it’s hard to use, it’s actually really easy to understand and navigate. Thanks translink - Good Work

Just don’t use this.. So I just got the app as the old translink doesn’t work anymore and this app such a downgrade from its old version. It takes you to the most inconvenient spots that are at least 800+ meters away even though there are closer stops that the bus also uses and the app as a problem with so called “Ghost Buses which it claims that the bus is at the stop but they never show up when it says they do and sometimes the buses never show up at all which happened to me before and ruined my whole day. It is super buggy and glitches out when you zoom to close for some reason and it’s tracking of the buses on the map is super delayed as it would sometimes show the bus being stuck at a traffic stop for up to 10 minutes straight and then refresh showing the bus at the other side of the map. 1/10 do not recommend, they should have kept the old translink.

Update removes features and creates new bugs. Whilst the previous TransLink app was by no means flawless, it was functional. Now I entirely rely on the default Maps app that came with my device. The ability to look up timetables for stops and routes is inexplicably missing, making navigation especially daunting if you are unfamiliar with the route or the area you’re in. Continuing the theme of baffling absences, the new trip-planning algorithm produces comparatively fewer possible routes to the user, many well beyond the bounds the desired arrival time one sets. It is also rarely capable of presenting journeys for those seeking to plan ahead. The only advice I can provide to anyone looking for alternatives would be going with the default map app your device came with. I have an apple phone, and my experience has been fine enough so far. I certainly found the older TransLink more reliable, especially deeper in the CBD, but this is a close second when it comes to route planning.

New app is trash, go back to the old. Clearly no user functionality was considered in making this app. The update makes no sense at all. The previous app had (1) favourite stops and (2) favourite routes. This allowed users to see whether the bus line they get for example is leaving from their stop at any given time. I can save a stop but there is no where to go to find a saved stop? And then I have to figure out which if the buses I can get on are coming because there is no way to favourite routes. What a waste of money this app development was. I’ve never been so frustrated at a government service. Bring back the old app. Edited to add another missed feature - the map feature. I used to be able to click on a bus in the stop function and I would be able to see it on the map to see how far away it is. Can’t do that here. Also the departures feature isn’t accurate - google maps is more accurate in terms of what buses are coming soon?

this is one of the worst apps i’ve had to put up with. this app is literally a nightmare to use, whenever i try to set a route it gives me the worst routes that get me to take useless busses that take me in a circle and it does not include many of the easier routes i have previously used to get around before. the map on its own is actually horrible, it’s all cluttered with all of the train lines and bus lines that are currently running, the map is completely unusable to zoom or move without tapping on a random busline. this is just an awful app, the og translink would never do me like this. i recommend using the online version as it is the same as the og and when i tried to plan the same journey i did on that disgusting app it gave me my usual journey that is EXTREMELY easier.

Non functional. Can’t search using business names, have to go to Google Maps to get the address if I want to search something, but Maps also offers bus navigation so why use this app? Probably wasted millions developing this for it to be a flop. Embarrassing. UPDATE: been using this for about a month now and it’s honestly terrible. You can’t use the map to GPS track the bus because it freaks out whenever you try to navigate the map. When I set my location to “current location” it sets it to the address I’m near but then doesn’t update the address when I move around - the whole point of putting my “current location”. The previous app wasn’t great but I honestly feel like i didn’t appreciate it enough because of how terrible this new app is. The whole team working on this needs to be let go fr.

Unusable, functionally worthless app.. Somehow intentionally managed to create an overall downgrade of their previous app, which is no longer accessible on the app store. Live tracking of transport is no longer accurate or remotely possible. Interface is highly inaccessible for users, significantly more inconvenient to save favourite locations or revisit previous searches, or even make a one-off trip search. This app is ultimately an overall downgrade from their previous app. Disappointing to see multiple first-world countries with far less infrastructure creating transportation apps in 2025 with decently accurate live-tracking, and bare-minimum functionality, that are way ahead of this app. Unsure why an app that underperforms its predecessor would now be superseding the original.

Unreliable and confusing. I hate it. Tis app is so confusing and hard to use. You can’t see buses in real-time like the old app, which is so annoying because most buses are not on time so I rely on the real-time function to get the right bus. The time delay of +0 is unhelpful. It keeps showing me buses coming from both directions at two different stops instead of the buses going to the stop I select. The options that come up aren’t very accurate, like showing buses hours later than the current time I’m looking at. The nearby departures are completely unhelpful. Hopefully they fix these things soon or no one will want to use the app anymore.

How do you release an updated version of an app that removes essential features from the previous ap. It’s truly incredible how a company can gather so much data and come into contact with so many people yet have absolutely no idea what customers should have in a public transport app. If you ask anyone about the features they’d expect in a public transport app, they would probably put service timetables at the top of the list. I’m blown away that someone saw this finished project and decided to was suitable to release. It says a lot about the state of an app that people are reviewing it 5 stars just to make sure their review is visible in the sea of one stars. Embarrassing.

Please go back to the original app layout !!. I usually don’t review apps but this has made my daily commute so much harder - having my favourited routes on the home page was the only reason I used the old app, now they’re incredibly hard to find quickly and I can’t even save specific stops for some of the larger bus stops (eg. Queen St Mall bus station) so it’s extremely difficult to see exactly which buses are arriving at a specific stop. There’s also far too much information shown for each service so it’s impossible to understand which bus is arriving next and when at a glance. That’s literally the only information that’s useful, the rest is redundant. I also have no idea why anyone would need to know every single service operating nearby at any given time, particularly since there’s no way to filter these by intended location!! Why this the first item on the home page is beyond me.

Can’t track the busses!!. This is the DUMBEST update/remake of a PERFECTLY FINE app ever. I’m standing outside my bus stop and I have no idea where my bus is!! I can’t track it, I can’t see it on the map— absolute ridiculous update! I RELIED on tracking my busses to see how much longer It would take to arrive or what might be holding it up, now I have no way of knowing!!! The simplicity that the app used to have is GONE and now it’s so unnecessarily complicated. Why the hell did you feel the need to change something perfectly fine???!!!! Unbelievable.

Terrible new app, why get rid of the good functions???. Please bring back the old app or fix this new one by letting us look at bus and train scheduled timetables. This new app is really bad and it lost the good features of the old one to be able to favourite and look at certain stops and lines. Please bring it back or effect changes that can actually help the users that need to use this app everyday. Instead I have to use the website version of translink which I feel defeats the whole purpose of having an app. Look at all of these 1 star reviews, and absolutely no response from TransLink on any level. This new app was clearly mismanaged and it doesn’t seem like there has been any work to try and fix this highly evident issue.

downgrade ! go back to the old app please. the new app is hard to navigate. the old formatting was good and easy. you can’t look at the timetable anymore, need to go to website (which doesn’t show me what i am looking for). used to be able to track buses using the timetable so then we could see if the bus already left or not, which the app in “Plan journey” can’t register. for example: the bus says it’ll come at a certain time but it leaves earlier than it should, so in the app it will say that it hasn’t come because the app only knows the designated time it SHOULD come. please go back to old translink. only thing that should be upgraded is the bus timetables that change if it’s a weekend/sunday/public holiday. because on sundays a bus will comr oncr an hour and not twice an hour, but the old app doesnt register that, so i would be at the bustop 30 minutes “early” when actually the bus doesnt come at THAT time in the hour, it actually comes at the SECOND time slot within the hour.

Confusing, Overcomplicated, Waste of Time. Don’t know why TransLink “fixed” their app. It was perfectly easy to use and now it’s more complicated than ever. There’s no real time tracking to see how far busses are. There’s no straightforward visualisation of the route you’ve imputed in - instead it is confusing and frustrating to navigate - especially when you’re on a time crunch to get to your destination. Why is it only recommending I take FIVE busses, when I know I can simply take ONE?!? The route I take daily?? All I needed to know was when it was coming. It is sad to think about the money that was wasted for this “update.” Lastly, WHY are numerous busses not at the bus stops where they used to be?? Would’ve at BARE minimum appreciated fair and thorough warnings about the changes. So many people rely on TransLink services, and yet TransLink fails them over and over. Do better. Don’t temper to fix things that aren’t broken.

Efficient & easy to use. While I wasn’t too keen on having to download a completely seperate app after using the old TransLink app for so long, I am pretty happy with the upgrade. It’s easy to use and I find that locating where I am and finding the nearest stop is a lot more efficient than on the previous app. I’m really surprised by all of the negative reviews after using the app, it does the job and gets me from A to B. This app also allows you to follow your route a lot easier, as the old version was quite janky and difficult to follow. Overall, I’m really happy with this app and I know I can rely on it to see when the next service is.

Not Happy - like everyone else. It’s clear this app has been designed by developers who don’t catch public transport. Was there ANY User Acceptance testing? I’ve actually had this version of the app downloaded for several months. I thought it would improve. It has not. I don’t understand why I can’t bookmark favourite routes AT ALL. I can bookmark favourite stops but I need to go to the map location to look at the bus stop in question. Brisbane is a big city. I shouldn’t need to zoom all over a map (with thousands of stops) just to find the stop I need. Not everyone is a novice at travel planning. Give us back the chance to keep favourite routes and stops in one tab. If that’s how we want to do our planning, enable us to do so.

I GUESS IN 1 SLEEP I WILL KNOW!. HOW DOES ONE KNOW IF THEY’VE UPDATED / UPGRADED THEIR EXISTING APP? I took notice from the start of the forthcoming change to all or only digital being how you can look up a bus or train timetable. Yet one day or sleep from the deadline & my app is still forewarning me that from 29 August 2025, I will no longer have access if I don’t download the new version of the app?! If I go via my App App for new the Translink it says OPEN not GET* which *is how you know you don’t have any App yet, until you press that button *. IF I have successfully done this it should be telling me I am either I am now using this new version, or will from the date change. Others may well have the same issue? It is very frustrating to know you have (or believe you have) complied with the instructions, but the system to date is ignoring it. We’ll know in one sleep, how everyone has experienced this change, & on a Friday no less.

Painfully frustrating downgrade. This new app is so much less functional than the previous app. The map does not show real-time bus location. It appears to only show an estimated location based on the timetable so buses show up at your stop on the map but not in real life. It is a lot less straightforward to find your favourited stops and routes so the convenience of planning on the go has depleted a lot. I am also getting a lot of “connection not possible” notifications well beyond the hours of the single commute I have saved (which doesn’t require any connections). Can’t remove the commute or edit the notifications - despite my countless attempts, nothing happens aside from the occasional error message. At this point, it would be easier to delete this app and go back to Google or Apple Maps. Very irritating! The former app should not have been decommissioned as this is a huge downgrade which should have undergone more rigorous user testing.

DON’T TRY TO FIX WHAT ISN’T BROKEN. As every other reviewer has stated, this App is a poor sad excuse for a replacement, especially a forced one. This new version has an interface straight out of 1999, it is slow, hardly ever actually tracks the location of buses, and if it does it is not accurate. Has absolutely no programming for efficiency, it will straight up tell you no routes are available when there are a dozen and routinely shows you less efficient routes like it gets a commission for doing so, the map resets every time you touch it, current location is completely wrong if you’ve used without restarting the app. Basically you can’t access any of the BASELINE FEATURES of the original app which destroys the purpose of this one ..!! It might have been quicker to simply state what it does right; which is nothing. Try it out today so you too can be apart of the wonderful growing community of commuters getting nowhere slow..! ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING TO DEAL WITH, WHOMEVER IS IN CHARGE OF THIS APPARENT UPDATE AND UPGRADE SHOULD BE FIRED FOR NEGLIGENCE, STRUNG UP PUBLICY BY THEIR FEET AND FLOGGED WITH GRASS WHIPS..! If there was an award for the worst government approved app for transport, it would be named the TransLink Award..!! 🎉🙏

worse in every way. the title pretty much summarises it! the new TransLink app is frustratingly unuseable and not fit for purpose. removing the ability to see station and route timetables in-app is an absolute travesty. I miss being able to have saved stations and routes so I can quickly and easily check when trains/buses are coming without needing to go through the entire journey planner rigmarole. the new app just railroads (pun unintended) users into the very rigid and less useful planner system with no other options. why on earth did they even make a new app when the old one was all we needed?? really hoping they add all the old features back in, because as is I’d rather just not use the app at all. edit: AND ANOTHER THING! why on EARTH have they changed to using “departures” and “arrivals” instead of inbound/outbound. So confusing trying to figure out which direction trains are going on, not to mention these aren’t planes! every time a train gets to a station it both arrives and departs!!! Ahhhhhh!!!!

Urgent improvement needed. The new app is not too bad, but urgent fix and update is absolutely needed asap rather than till the end of the year, which include: 1. Bring back the services timetable, rather than the external website hyperlink 2. Allow bookmarked/stared stops and services to be shown in a favourite list, just like the old map. This can be placed under the tab “My Trip” in the new app (or create a new tab called “Favourite”. And this time please seperate bookmarked bus services from the bookmarked stops as each should be in its own under “My Trip” 3. The live bus route with the live location mark of the travelling bus should be made quicker and easier to get access to. 4. Destinations in the journey planner should allow users to pre-establish some frequently used location (such as home, work) and the ability to quickly add bookmarked stops

Inefficient, infuriating, and abhorrent.. I fail to see how such a poorly optimised product could be so confidentially put forwards as a replacement to the original app. It’s missing critical features the previous MyTranslink had; the amount of nonexistent ghost buses I’ve encountered is infuriating, and navigating the interface is maddening. Nothing about it is concise or efficient. I’m at a loss over how poorly optimised it is for public use. It suggests inefficient routes —my daily commute is one bus yet the app incredulously pushes nothing but ridiculously longer trips with multiple transfers— I can’t harp on enough about the userface; why are we taken out of the app to simply view a timetable?? MyTranslink was so accessible and easily navigable, how are we forced to use this new app and wait for previously critical features to be released? I routinely leave early to navigate public transport and never before have I arrived late because an app just decides to offer nonexistent buses with horrid pathing. I can’t imagine how impossibly worse public reception would be if we didn’t have the 50c fares.

Limited functionality. This app doesn’t do what it says it does. I can kind of search for a journey from one destination to another but it doesn’t even work as well as the journey planner on the website. It then barely gives me options - but that’s ok, I only need one - oh but even when I’ve selected the bus I need to catch, I can’t easily see its timetable or track the stops as I’m riding it. And the live tracker thing just says “0 more stops”. I have to click around until I find a way of getting into the route which seems random and I can never find the way I did it before and have to discover it by luck newly each time I want it. I don’t use public transport often so the decline is obvious compared to what it was a year ago, and even what it was 10 years ago when I used to get the bus regularly. At least then I could just save my regular routes and view the schedule.

Missing all of the good features from the old app. Impossible to use. Yes, the old app was clunky, but I could open it and see at a glance accurate bus times for a favourite stop automatically if I was close to it. The way upcoming departures from a stop were displayed made sense. None of us can figure out how on earth to get this new app to do a similar thing. The map on the home screen isn’t helpful - we need to be able to see departures at a glance. Favouriting a stop seemingly does nothing. The ‘Departures’ section on the home screen is useless - not only is it extremely difficult to select a stop, once you do it shows trips going in BOTH directions. Extremely confusing and frustrating. Please fix this!!

Back to google maps I guess. What’s the point in having a bookmark tab with seemingly no way to bookmark routes? The only thing you can bookmark is individual commutes, which for some reason can only be bookmarked for a specific time of day. Not everyone starts/ends work at consistent times everyday. App also crashes when searching a commute with an “Arrive at” time. The view route timetables button sends you to the website, which is probably just a better place to search routes anyways. Also, good luck selecting your stop in the CBD. When viewing map mode it loads every nearby bus/ferry/train all at once updating live. If my phone could gasp for mercy it would have. I never thought I’d be pining for MyTranslink but here we are I guess

I just want to find my bus. This app isn’t the easiest to use - new isn’t always better! I like some of the new functions but I wish some old functions had stayed. Please take on suggests and change the app to be more user-friendly. - The saved “commuter trip” idea is great, but I’d love an option within that too for no transfers. - Instead of saving a single trip, I’d also like to save specific bus routes and see a full list of times for them (like the old app). - The visual map is great, but it’d be even better if it showed the bus in real time. - I like that searching routes shows both walking time and bus departure, but I’d prefer the total time to just reflect the bus ride, not the walking. - I like that “show details” lets you see where the bus should be in real time (though it’s rarely accurate), so I mostly use it to check all the stops along the way. - The “departures nearby” feature feels a bit overcomplicated. “Route details” is a good idea, but most of us just want to see bus route numbers, times, and stops (like the old app) then have an add on of real-time updates (provided they are accurate).

Atrocious.. I’ve never left a review on an app before, but I can confidently say this is the worst app I’ve ever downloaded. It doesn’t even try to be user-friendly. The best feature of the old app was the live tracking and they’ve removed that. When I eventually figured out how to see where buses supposedly were, it turned out that the information was completely inaccurate. Additionally, the ability to even search for trip times has been taken away because that feature rarely loads correctly. Without the capacity to look up, or track, your trip, I don’t see what the purpose of this app is. I cannot comprehend why they would elect to discontinue the old app and replace it with this absolute garbage. I’ll be switching to google maps for my transport tracking needs or just guessing when trains and buses are going to appear because that would be more accurate. This app is a waste of storage space on my phone.

I’m literally begging for the bus timetable back. The only reason I use the translink app over the website or google maps is for access to the bus timetable! A web link is not helpful as the page is not designed well for a phone layout, and the load between pages was much more efficient and visually clean on the old app. I’d like to believe that there were good intentions behind this upgrade but with the limited communication about why these changes were made other than ‘the old app is not longer supported’ it’s outrageous to mark the only feature NOT already available in other transport apps (eg google maps) as redundant after over a year of beta and development. The inclusion of the timetables should be the top priority of a translink app, not “by the end of the year” in EARLY SEPTEMBER. An interface that already exists in two formats should not require an entire 3 months to implement, and if it did then it should have been implemented long ago. This is an accessibility concern, a functionality concern, and decreases the number of people who will go to the trouble of independently modifying bus routes to combat congestion.

THE OLD APP WAS BETTER. I don’t understand why a new app was created when the old one worked well. I do like the colour palette of the new app more, but that’s about it. I cannot look up general things, such as STARS. Instead I have to type the full thing, (Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation service) or if have to put the correct address entirely or it doesn’t plan my journey properly (for example, important places like Workways don’t even come up on this app. You have to put the whole address which takes so much longer when I’m already out and rushing to find the right train or bus). Even then, it has given me such weird bus routes to get to my destinations, when there’s better journey options. I honestly just recommend using the TransLink journey browser on Google/Safari. It’s just the old app and it works so much better.

Trash, never show up. I’m starting off with, I’d give zero stars if I could. You guys destroyed translink app, what once was easy to understand and see exactly where the bus is I am now waiting over 2 hours everytime I catch my bus that comes every hour cause they decide to skip stations or drive past a grown woman. I am sick and tired of watching my day drift away waiting & waiting, today I have sat for 2 hours coming up to a third, that should be three busses by now. It was easier at 12-16 to catch a bus than it is as an adult these days. 727 should come more than once an hour if this is how you guys run, I am spending all my money on Ubers cause they actually show up. translink stop taking our tax if you can’t run your systems correctly & actually show up, enough is enough.

All the functions I used previously are gone. I actually dread having to use this app. Basically only the journey planner function is available, all the other functions that I used before are now gone. I want to save the train station I go to and see all the trains that are arriving at the station, but I can no longer do that which makes it incredible difficult to use. I catch the train after dropping my kid at daycare and if the drop off takes a few extra minutes I have to do the whole process again, entering my destination and updating the time through the journey planner and waiting for it to load. I caught a bus this morning instead and there was no information about if the bus was late or on time. This created stress for me as I was wondering if catching my usual train (bus stop was right next to train station) was going to be quicker. Would love to know why the app was changed and if we can change it back, what a waste of money if it was supposed to be an upgrade.

Horrendously bad app. If there’s an award for taking a functional app and turning it into a confusing mess, the new Queensland TransLink app would win it without competition. The layout feels like someone emptied a toolbox onto the screen and called it a design. Nothing is where you expect it to be and everything is fighting for your attention at once. When you actually need it to work, it doesn’t. Trips don’t load, real-time info disappears, and the whole thing feels like it’s held together by hope and duct tape. It’s unreliable in the exact moments you rely on it. What makes this worse is that the old TransLink app worked perfectly fine. No one asked for this downgrade. Instead of improving anything, they replaced a solid, simple tool with something that looks and behaves like it’s still in beta.

Absolutely useless - please return to old app!. 4/9 - additional issues - when trip options are there the format is very confusing and lacks information. E.g. the results screen just says “walk, bus number, walk, bus number, walk”. It no longer shows how far you have to walk which reduces time when choosing routes. For instance, I never bothered clicking on routes that had a 2km walk time in the old app which made choosing a route simple. Now I have to go onto every suggested route because there are no distances shown in the overview/results page of a search. Then when I go into the route, it is very confusing. Is there an alarm still to show you when you’re getting close to your stop? I can’t see one? This is crucial when travelling new routes with a toddler. ——— 30/8 The previous app allowed me to search routes and times by entering a To and From address. I relied on this to get around with my toddler to a range of places. When I tried to do the same thing on the new app (searched to go from Chermside Library to my home) and it told me there were literally no buses/no routes available. This is completely untrue as the 320 goes directly past the library and near our house. I physically had to walk outside the library to the bus stop to look at the physical timetable so I could work out timing because the app said there were no routes. This is a big problem! Please reopen the old app - it’s not going to always be possible for me to physically walk to a bus stop to work out times! What is the point of this useless app!

Bane of my existence. I rarely ever write reviews of apps but the new TransLink app is genuinely one of the worst apps I’ve ever had the misfortune of using. A big part of why I hate this app is because I never had any issues with the old TransLink, so I don’t understand why they felt the need to change it. The new app is basically a copy of Google maps’ public transport routes, but much worse. You are no longer able to look at different bus routes and stops without exiting from your journey, and your journey resets every time you exit the app, even if it’s only for a few minutes. In addition to this, the map on your journey is extremely glitchy, and you cannot zoom in to different points on the maps without it immediately zooming out, whereas in the old app it would stay where you zoomed in. I used to exclusively use the old TransLink app when taking public transport, but now I’m switching to Google maps because of how awful and over complicated this app is. Can someone please remove this app from existence and bring back the old TransLink.

Worse than a paper map from 2015. Walk length options are so comically buried in the app it lacks all intuitive sense. What is a “long walk”? Why can’t i set an actual measurable distance now? Why is this functionality now worse? Can’t save destinations for quick journey planning, and the ability to save a specific trip seems like a bizarre and unhelpful substitute. Can’t see a timetable for the stops near me at one tap like the old app. Relying on wind speed and astrology would probably be more helpful than trying to use this app. Well done everyone on making literally every element of public transport demonstrably, infuriatingly worse. If i could give this negative stars, i would.

Slack. Y'all didn't have to make another app, honestly speaking 🤦‍♀️ It is LACKING in a lot of things. Example, today I was waiting for my bus, it said in 2mins it will arrive. I checked on google maps, said that it had already departed. I ended up having to book an uber because I wasn't waiting a whole hour for the next one. The other point is that it's just so hard to navigate through all the app features. The previous app allowed us to track the bus times for different bus stops. This current app is only location based, so I can only see the bus stop near my place and not the one near work or school. It's very difficult for those of us who don't have cars. Please fix this asap because the other app had no issues at all. Don't understand why yous had to change it.

bad review. look i genuinely never leave reviews on anything, but i have never been more disappointed with an app change like this. I’m glad many people agree but it’s made getting to places now much harder. I tried finding my typical bus that’s been going for many years, same route, same timetable every day, but it’s not there anymore? so many other features of it i don’t like, it simply doesn’t serve the purpose of being helpful anymore. I I also found it easier to read beforehand, why do they need insanely long sentences And the name of the destination underneath the first stop. sure maybe it’s more accurate with the buses being late, but

Terrible new app!. Terrible new app! The old one was better. Not user friendly at all. You can’t favourite a stop or a platform so when you want to look for your bus and you aren’t near the stop it’s impossible to find, worse if there are multiple different buses or platforms. Even if you have a “saved commute”. The “Departures nearby” only give you 1-2 mins of busses so you can’t see at a glance where your bus is. I only have one bus I can catch to my workplace and back so being able to see this bus at a glance was helpful. I no longer can see easily if the bus is running late or if it’s even coming at all. The notifications system on this app is terrible also. Can’t just have a notification for that bus. Has to be for a commute and trip. Then you receive a notification every minute it’s running late. I don’t trust this app at all so I have to leave work early instead of working a few mins before the bus is due to arrive.

Pls revert back to previous version!!!. I wish I could give 0 stars.. this is my first time writing a review for an app, I usually dont do this but Im SO FRUSTRATED with this one I just had to. The old one wasnt the best, but at least I can save my favourite buses and stops. Now at stops that have multiple routes like CBD, I can’t even select my bus for live updates. The departure is so confusing to read like what do you mean +1hr?? All I wanted was a small update to the previous version where it would provide a quick reason why a bus is delayed/skipped (experienced multiple bus skips without reason) but all we got is this mess that we did not ask for. Can we at least revert back to the previous version???? Is anyone taking consideration of these reviews??

Pathetic - Don’t even waste your time. What an absolute joke!! There is a saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. This is advice Translink should have heeded before absolutely destroying and pillaging an app that was previously useable and easy to navigate. What has been created is a disgrace and the only reason I can imagine why real-time tracking was removed is so that the greater public couldn’t see how deplorably unreliable Translink services were. Instead of getting more cars OFF the road, there are now more cars ON the road because 1. The app doesn’t tell you anything useful (that’s if you can actually work out how to use it) and 2. What’s the point of looking up a bus service only to see “Cancelled due to congestion”. Great job Translink!!! You should be ashamed of the way you have destroyed our bus network! I have completely lost faith and I know numerous other people who feel the same. I’m guessing millions of Taxpayer dollars was also spent in destroying the app - great job!! I’ve lived in a multitude of countries for my job in the medical profession and I can honestly say not once, not even in a third world country have I encountered as big a disaster as what our bus network is! Final words, GREAT WORK TRANSLINK 😡😡😡

If I could give no stars I would!. Garbage compared to the old app that they got rid of for no good reason. Completely not user friendly. The people who created this app are obviously tech bros in their parents teslas who have never used public transport in their lives thinking they’ve really done something with this one. Why take away the easy readability and straight forward layout of the old app for this absolute garbage? Not only are journeys completely difficult to read, they’ve taken away the real time feature from the journeys meaning to see how long the service actually takes to arrive, you have to switch tabs constantly in the app instead of seeing it on one page very clearly outlined like the old app. Disappointing waste of technology

Huge downgrade. I’ve spoken to quite a lot of people who are all of the same opinion about the new app - that’s it’s incredibly non-user friendly. Where I used to be able to zoom into a map and see where my closest bus stops were and then see which buses available and where they went, now it’s a guess based on distance. I also used to be able to see how far away the buses were, now it gives a time estimate which is inaccurate and has resulted in me missing so many buses. If the buses arrived on their scheduled time I wouldn’t have to rely on this however they don’t. Please reinvest some time effort and money to improve this to maximise the use of the new bus network. And get some regular users to beta test it

Project team should all be fired. Apr 2026 Nothing has been improved since this terrible app was released. Using it for 2 minutes, my blood pressure went up just because how frustrating and unusable this app is. People who have developed this app must have never ever used public transport system regularly, otherwise no possible way it can be this bad. Can someone fire this team and bring the old team back? --- I don't know why you get rid of that My Translink app, which is so much easier and user friendly. When you just shut down a good app, have you thought to keep the features that makes senses? The new app, there's even no easy place to show my saved stops, confusing UX/UI. A waste of taxpayers' money. Completely useless and whoever in the development team should be shame of yourself

Abhorrent. I pretty tech savvy and the first to embrace updates and releases….this is by far one of the worst apps I’ve used. For someone who doesn’t drive and relies on public transport for their commute every day both into the city for work and locally for groceries and events, there is no way on gods green earth, this is better than the old app. After finally working out how to favourite all my old stops, routes and journeys, they are how nowhere to be found yet when I enter the whole journey all over again, the star is solid meaning the favourite is SOMEWHERE that is a state secret! It may be handy for a 1 once “I’ll jump on a bus/train right now”….regular ongoing use is FORGET IT. You’d have more luck turning up and looking at a stop info and being prepared to wait for an indeterminate amount of time for something to turn up!

No more public transport for kids.. Ok. Adults can guess, problem solve or just remember the usual routes. Now imagine school kids who are just starting to use bus services. No way I would allow my kids to go anywhere by bus until the app is fixed. The app doesn’t give me optimal routes and correct times. I can search for the route from A to B standing on a bus stop leaving now say 3pm, and the app gives me routes from other far away bus stops leaving tomorrow morning. And I know perfectly well that it is not correct. So back to the driving a car I guess. No more public transport. I would suggest they make old app available again until they fix this new one.

a total downgrade from a once-great app!. The new Translink app is an absolute disaster. Whoever thought this was an “upgrade” clearly never actually used the old version. The previous app was fantastic – clean, intuitive, and genuinely useful for planning journeys quickly on the go. Now? It’s a clunky, broken mess. The journey planner barely works, the navigation is confusing, and simple tasks that used to take seconds now require me to give up and go to the website instead. That’s right – I’m using the website on my phone because the app is so poorly designed it’s unusable. This isn’t just a minor setback – it’s a complete failure in customer experience. The old app empowered commuters. This one actively hinders them. Why remove features that worked perfectly and replace them with a stripped-down, glitchy version that feels like it’s still in beta? Public transport relies on reliability and accessibility. This app delivers neither. Whoever signed off on this rollout should be embarrassed – you’ve taken a tool people relied on every day and turned it into a source of frustration. Bring back the old app, or at the very least, give us an app that functions at the same standard. Until then, this “new” version is not fit for purpose.

This app is horrible. The old app was perfectly fine this new one makes it so much harder to get to and from places. The busses are incredibly hard to track and from what I’ve seen there are no live updates on where the bus is which is strange considering that’s what this app is supposed to do. It’s incredibly difficult to use and very inaccurate. I’ve also noticed since the new app release more and more busses have been much later than usual. There have been over 20-30 minute delays and it’s incredibly irritating when trying to get to work on time because the app and busses are so inconsistent. This app is honestly the worst app I have ever used.
