Not Available For Solar Users. Tried to connect. But get an error 60. I have two meters. One for power and one for solar. I only want to see power consumption on primary meter. XCEL please do better and fix this.

Not ready for use. I followed all the installation instructions. The app works for four or five hours and then I get an email saying I was unsubscribed. It cannot maintain a connection to the meter, even though my WiFi router says I have a strong connection.

Junk. Can’t even log in.

Not great. App is overly tied to the limitations of same WiFi network for realtime use. Doesn't matter the 2.4g and 5g are the same ip space, I’m forced to connect to the 2.4g in order to see the realtime. Changing WiFi networks works on every 10th try, app disconnects and reconnects on random. Hot garbage at best, but I’m excited to see my realtime use when it’s up long enough to see. Tips to the dev, store relevant device name/ip info in the app for faster reconnect and get rid of the same WiFi network nonsense we learned how to fix in 2014.

Do better Xcel!. Since we have two addresses tied to our account, the app is useless. It is not that hard to design an app that allows you to select the property you want to monitor. This is basic functionality. I was one of the few excited about getting a smart meter, but Xcel’s IT systems are atrocious and don’t unlock any of the potential for their consumers.

Quit working. Quit and can’t start it again.

Just crashes. Doesn’t work yet. Deleted and reinstalled numerous times but haven’t been able to get past the “connecting” screen without the whole thing crashing. Hoping it will be functional soon.

Sort of works. Same old story excel app is junk why do you pay these people to manage your app

Never Connects. This app is unusable. It constantly gets stuck on the “Meter joining Wi-Fi network” screen and never actually finishes connecting. I can clearly see the device connected on my router/network, so the issue is with the app itself not completing the setup process. NOT MY NETWORK. No matter how long I wait or how many times I retry, nothing happens. For an energy monitoring app, basic connectivity should work reliably, and right now it absolutely does not.

Does Not Connect. Something is obviously wrong with this version. It does not request the home WiFi SSID or password, but indicates it’s sending this info to the meter. Tired it 100 times. Error 65. The devs have no shame!

Failure to connect. Won’t connect. Security issues aside, this app is a total fail. I’ve never seen an app with such a bad rating.

Poor app Privacy issue. Main concern I have for using the app is that you have to share and Xcel collects and retains your wifi and password in order to connect to your smart meter. You have to accept this privacy policy and terms of use before I can even login and see if app is even worth it. Really??? Who gives out their secure wifi and password to anyone randomly that you don’t trust. Xcel needs to figure better way or ensure primary as I never trust a company to secure my data. It’s fool’s errand. In theory, it’s an amazing concept as I would love to really get real time data. Xcel has other app where you can get some daily and by varying timelines. It’s helpful but not the best. I was really hoping to be able to use this app without encroaching my privacy.

Real time data doesn’t work. Checked my WiFi router and confirmed the device is on the 2.4ghz band. Real time data still doesn’t work. Really unimpressed as it sounds like this is a common issue. I can see in my router dashboard that the meter uploads data every 7 hours like clockwork, but can’t do real time data? Some really bad technical design going on behind this app or the smart meter design. Really confusing considering it’s the focal selling point of this app?

App worked poorly before and now no longer connects at all. I was at least able to get some information for a couple months even though the information was not very clear before. Now the whole thing denies me access. No changes on my end but the system just sends me error messages. Not impressed.

Worst App Ever. Absolutely horrendous experience with this service. I don’t get real time updates within the app, despite my network connection being strong. So sick of Xcel reps telling me it’s my network. It’s not. The only way I’ve ever had this work consistently is if I use 3rd party software and MQTT to acquire the necessary data. Then, once I FINALLY, get stuff working. It disconnects after a month and wants me to register again, but unsurprisingly I run into errors with that once again. What’s even worse is I have no other options other than Xcel. Such a garbage company…

Poor app and support. I cannot even log into the app. I’ve contacted support and still am unable to use the app. Wait for a later version before wasting your time.

Unusable. Can’t even get logged into this app. I thought the regular Xcel app was bad but man, this app should be pulled from the App Store.

Won’t log on. I have tried numerous times to connect to my WiFi and it just never works. Waste of my time. It doesn’t work unless you only use 2.4 GHz!! Most WiFi networks use 5.0 GHz so it won’t work. It’s like designing something that only works on a 4 cylinder car, but it won’t work on 6 or 8 cylinder or EVs or any other cars.

Doesn’t Work. Garbage app. Your meter has to connect to a 2.4 ghz network, the app doesn’t even search for networks. You have to type in the name of the network. Not matter what I tried I could connect to the smart meter. Waste of time.

Pile of cow manure. I have seen VERY FEW apps that are bigger garbage that this one! Latest update changed nothing, still fails to connect while all devices (meter and phone) ARE confirmed to be connected to local network router! To make things worse, Xcel is apparently absolutely not interested in fixing this issue.

Vibe coded?. Unbelievably bad app. I find it hard to believe this was written by professionals—and I understand now why Xcel keeps starting wildfires and burning down peoples’ houses. They are clearly incompetent.

Doesent work. Can’t even login

Refuses to connect. I got this ap to connect once. Now it keeps telling me I’m not connected to my home wifi (and I am). When I ask for the historical data it just endlessly says it is gathering data. Terrible.

Privacy?. Was hoping to monitor my realtime electricity use. After logging into the app, it told me Xcel requires my home network name AND PASSWORD! to function. Ridiculous. I should be logging into the smart meter and that is it!

The app can’t stay connected. Worst sloppy app that can’t keep connected to my fiber 2.4 wifi despite the strength of my signal. It also won’t work on my 5g! Ridiculous network issues all the time

WiFi Issues. I’ll start by saying the app has some great information. Being able to see consumption and solar generation real-time has been a good tool to find where electricity is being used. The bad: it requires me to connect to a slower network to use. I have multiple WiFi networks set up. One is dedicated to IoT devices and that’s what I have the meter connect to. I have a separate 6Ghz network I use for devices capable of 6Ghz, my phone included. The networks are not isolated meaning I can be on the 6Ghz network and still talk to slower IoT devices on that network. The app needs to start by scanning to see if it can see the meter which it should be able to do, as long as the meter remains connected. Stop forcing me to change networks just to use the app. Fix this and I’ll change my review to five stars.

never connects. you have to manually add your wifi name, not search for it in a list. then it tried to discover the meter and never does. even though my phone is resting on the meter.

Limited compatibility. Doesn’t work on combined 2.4/5 Ghz networks, ie. Xfinity gateway default networks. Also doesn’t work well on tablets (iPads). More hassles than it was worth, ended up uninstalling app.

APP. This is the worst app I have ever tried to use, XCEL should be embarrassed to even say they developed this joke of an app!

40 minutes…still waiting. Attempting to load on two devices and 40 minutes later still waiting on “authorizing device”. Same issue on iPhone and iPad. Not sure how this was released.

Latest update broke the realtime functionality. Unfortunately the latest app update broke the realtime usage feature which is the primary use of the app. It shows the same value for each poll of the “my current usage” in watts. If this isn’t resolved there is no point in using the app beyond seeing aggregated historical data which isn’t all that useful.

Horrible App. Despite connection errors that occur occasionally, the TOU rates and now the times. are always inaccurate. Is it that difficult to provide an app that works?

Very limited. Tried connecting to meter using this app for weeks, no success, now I come to find out it will not work if you have multiple meters. I have solar generation with a generation meter, so I’m out.

WiFi connection to personal network. It is a security flaw that the meter has to connect to my personal network instead of my guest network. It keeps failing on my secondary WiFi network I have setup.

Terrible. This app is a complete waste of time. There is an unpublished bug that if you have an ampersand (&) in your password or SSID it won’t work. Even on a different network it briefly connected and then lost the connection, never to be restored. Waste. Of. Your. Time…..WORTHLESS

Garbage. This app is absolute garbage. Doesn’t work, doesn’t connect, can’t monitor data, customer service runs you in circles trying the same steps with no luck and you can tell they know this app is a total waste. Xcel pushes you in to time of use plans and a smart meter and no way to monitor your usage. Super disappointed. If they weren’t a monopoly I’d switch to a different service.

Still awful. With Xcel being a public regulated utility company it's despicable that this app is allowed on the store. They market the use this app and smart meters, while pushing their off peak rates, etc. yet this app is horribly designed, takes days to initially connect because their smart meters aren't smart enough to detect the 2.4 ghz connection when both are broadcast.

App is a joke. Does not work.. This app is a piece of garbage. Does not connect to the meter, it just goes into a never ending loop of saying it is trying to connect to the meter. Don’t waster your time.

App doesn’t work anymore. Meter is connected to 2.4 WiFi phone is connected to 2.4 WiFi and yet I keep getting error code 11. What is up with this stupid app that it is NEVER consistent as to whether or not it will connect to the stupid piece of junk meter????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
