State of the Art Language Learning App. I have found nothing better, because this is an intuitively designed app. Just when I wondered if the app would have a certain feature, I'd click and find that it does and even additional features I never thought knew could help me with my language learning. Well done! I highly recommend it.

The rules. It would be nice to have a section where the language “rules” are explained such as the alphabet and their sounds, how the compounds and blends, why there are so many letter in Gaeilge but half of them are silent, etc. It would make the language much easier to learn.

Gaeilge. This is the best beginner language app I've ever used. It has features for any learning style--features that I never even anticipated or wished for...

Great Work!. I am a total linguaphile--I absolutely love learning languages. Unfortunately, though, most of the quality language-learning tools are expensive. This is an excellent, free, easily-accessible resource for anyone who wishes to learn the Irish-Gaelic language.

Very easy to use interface. I use another, very structured program to learn Irish, but I like being able to learn random words everyday that aren’t confined to that part of the program. The interface is very simple and I was able to show an older person how to use it very easily! I like the daily reminders to learn more words. The Irish being spoken is very clear. The only thing I dislike is that they don’t mention which dialect of Irish it is.

Am I learning and having fun doing it? <3. Super easy, interactive, very very "learn your own way and pace".....it's super cheap for how useful it is. I'd highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn language professionally or casually, nemo is amazing and I thank them for all their hard work.

Good for tourist. This is a good app to start learning basic modern Irish. The app would be better if a native was actually teaching. If visiting Ireland as a tourist for a couple of days then this app is perfect. If for anything else , I suggest this app be used as a reference while working with a native Irish speaker.

Fantastic app!!. For learning the basic word this app is fantastic and the speed features are excellent bc you can slow the speaker down enough to hear the annunciation of each word at your own pace, when you're confident enough to speed it up you'll be able to recognize the word as a whole, that's important to me. As far as conjugating verbs when used in sentences I haven't gotten that far in the app yet to know if it's a feature they have but I can confidently take away the important words and learn how to form sentences later ;) I LOVE the app!!!!

Wonderful app!. There is so much to learn and they make it easy and let you pick the pace. Yes there are things you can buy, but you’re not hindered from learning “unless you buy” which is awesome! It’s been less than a week and I already have 30 words/phrases that flow naturally out when I’m home as the English does when I’m at work!

Only one change would make it perfect. I am going to Ireland in a few months, and I’m studying. I’d love if the pronunciations had an option to slow them down. Some are very fast and difficult to pick up.

Phenomenal!. I love this app. It has several different features to learn the words, and it paces things the way you need them. You can learn as many words as you want each day, with a minimum of three. The interface is customizable to how you need it, from English to Gaelic or Gaelic to English, faster or slower, etc. I'm having a lot of fun using it; have only used for two days and it's so easy it's going to just become an end-of-day routine.

Great for learning vocabulary. Helpful to hear the words and to explore other words to learn the sounds and meanings in Gaeilge.

Helpful Language Aide. Easy peasy to navigate this app. Sound files are excellent pronunciations of difficult words. Listener able to control speed of speech, space between words, stop, start and repeat. 👍

Is maith liom è!!!. It is a very good app!!! It tells you how it is pronounced and written, which is very important. I do believe that it is important to clarify that I THINK this is Connacht dialect. Tá sè an-mhaith.

Awesome so far. Used it for a few hours at work today while driving and having so much fun with the different features, love just setting it to read the English and then Gaeilge through a running vocabulary. Feeling very confident that I'll get a good ways in just a few weeks of heavy use. Absolutely worth it to download and great quality for a free app.

This is the app to buy. Very strong mobile language app. Excellent combination of words and whole sentences. Great grouping of words into categories. The app pronounces words in standard dialect. There is a flash card function as well as a reminder for words-per-day. App has a very large vocabulary. The dictionary function is very useful. You can't go wrong with this one.

Best free app!. I love that I can press play on this app and learn while I am doing dishes, laundry, etc. It makes it so easy to learn! My four-year-olds are learning with me as well! Go raibh maith agat, Nemo!!

Can you make a Scottish one?. I haven’t gotten the app but I know this developer makes amazing apps for learning a language and I wish there’d be a Scottish Gaelic app along with this Irish one

I've Learned so Fast!. I've been wanting to learn Irish for a very long time. This app is a great way to learn the most important phrases, and I cannot believe how quickly I have learned them. A lot can be learned from the free app alone, but I was so impressed with the technique that I went ahead and purchased the full version. For $10, that's an easy decision.

Awesome learning tool. I have been using a cassette tape class to try and learn Gaelic for a year and have had no success. In one day I made more progress in learning Gaelic than I did in a whole year with the cassette tape method. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn this language!

Cannot Recommend. For my way of learning a language, I would prefer to select daily downloads by type. For example, give me a list of trees or animals or store (shoe, grocery, etc.) types. Then again I had only the free version of the app. I also understand that Irish is very complex, with spelling changeable depending on nearby words, for example.

Grand start. This program is a good start to learn some vocabulary and a few short sentences, but there should be additional levels to the short-form .

Best Irish Gaelic program out there. This is not a program to learn Irish Gaelic from the ground up. It's meant to teach you "Walk around" Irish such that maybe you won't embarrass yourself quite as badly when you ask for the loo.

A second language. It's heritage at its finest if you are Irish it just works nice to learn another language tried and you'll see

Incredible!. This app is awesome. I got it an hour ago and I'm already saying phrases like "Hello" or Dia dhuit and "Please" or Le do thoil. The app is just awesome. There is one problem though... the words have no pronunciation so I had to write the pronunciation on a slip of paper. Other than that this app is amazing!

One of the best language apps. I teach English as a second language and continually try out many apps for English as well as use several for myself in German and Spanish. Everyone knows Irish is not an easy language to learn, and I put it off for years, but this app makes the experience as easy as possible. I especially like the amount of control the learner has over how often to review words, how many new words to introduce, at what speed and so forth. You can make it as comfortable for yourself as you wish. My advice is to just listen for a week or two and then take a look at the written form. The opposite approach will scare you out of your wits. But eventually it all comes together, and in my experience it’s best to let the written form of any language seep in slowly.

Extremely Useful!. I have had this app for a little over a year. I bought the full version ($10 if I remember correctly), then just let this sit on my iPod. I would occasionally go onto there, but usually to pass time when bored. This past month I have been really using its full potential. How glad I am that I did! I have learned some words already and currently I can even speak a small phrase(s). I am a competitive swimmer, and a way I remember the words is by repeating them in my head while I swim. Definitely helps keeping me entertained while I swim! I am personally visiting Ireland next year (We have planned this for over 2 years). I want to be prepared, just in case. The only suggestions I would make to this app are: 1. Tell the user how to make complete sentences (EX: adjective before noun, or noun before adjective) 2. How to do the numbers in-between the main ones. (EX: 21,22,23,24,25) 3. Ways to help make proper sentences. (EX: "The beaver chewed on the brown log") Besides those factors, This is a great app. There aren't many good Irish Gaelic learning mobile apps, I'm glad I found this one! It even allows you to listen to music while you study. Amazing!

Irish Gaelic. This app is perfect for learning Irish Gaelic, however if you're looking into learning Scottish Gaelic then this isn't the app for you, because those are two different languages. Unfortunately, Nemo doesn't offer the Scottish Gaelic language, however the are plenty of other interesting languages to choose from. Nemo, please add a Scottish Gaelic app in the future!

Learning the "Irish ". I really like this, I can get the pronunciation so much better than with a previous language lessons. I would totally recommend this to anyone

Great as a supplement. This is great to get some pronunciations but it isn't a source for learning the language. It doesn't cover dialects and single words very well, but it will give you a few phrases to use. I love to turn it on and listen to the words play to get a better feeling for how hinge should sound. Great tool for basic Irish. We've traveled to Ireland several times and love the Irish speaking Gaeltacht regions. Just using one or two phrases will get you a smile of appreciation and lead you into conversation or even to learning more Irish. Great app! Easy to use. Pronunciation is essential and this app has it.

A lot of fun!!!. If your heart is in it you can learn a lot and fast. I do about thirty minutes every day and I'm introduced to about three or four new words a day in my regular cycle. Easy to use and fun to learn. It's an honor to keep Gaeilge alive.

Irish seems at first as complicated as Chinese.... there is a often vast difference between the way you say a word and the way it is spelled, which can be overwhelming when you are 1st starting out. this course is similar to Bunte Kinte but not nearly as expensive. My grandfathers native-language was Gaeilge and I feel it is my personal responsibility to help keep my heritage alive. thank you for this opportunity and excellent gift

Good but lack of pronunciation. Try to use to teach my kids this language — their father's language. My husband only knew few Irish Gaelic and he's also busy in his work. As a new learner, it's hard to pronounce the words even in very slow pace. I hope you include the pronunciation.

Decent starter. Decent starting place for anyone wanting to learn a language.

What a cracker!. My vocabulary in Gaelic has jumped 10 fold in days.

Easy. Have only been using this Gaeilge app for 3 days, but in that time I've learnt 30 words/phrases. There are lots of options to learn & test what you know, & you can set your own goals according to how much time you have, ability etc... from a couple of words a day, to however many you feel is achievable. (That is changeable too.) Really impressed with it so far.

Review for memo Gaelic. Great format and well structured program to get you started and speaking language straight away

I Wish to Speak with an Irish Tongue. I’m becoming familiar now, small steps, step by small step slowly; words unknown are beginning to bud and are revealing the possibility of their flower within. I’m hoping that in time when I might speak it, with still some distance to travel, I might yet find that Irish garden of sweet scented flowers that I’ve always been seeking and hoped to live beside.

Best of a bunch. There are many How to Learn Irish apps about. This one stands out due to the audio that assists with learning. There is a fair list of starter words ands phrases, but the steep price of the full product is too much of a downside to make me want to continue. Love the app, not the heavy pricing.

Good app. Hi app developers, I really like this app. I’m Irish and some of my family speaks Gaelic in Ireland, so this all was helpful. Also as most websites and apps either don’t have Gaelic or they are unreliable so I really like this app. There is just one flaw. I can’t learn any words I want. Only basic conversation words, not colours or normal words you need to learn. In the future if you could add this that would be great. I will continue to use this app on my iPad as it helps anyway. Fantastic!. Really enjoying this app! I’ve been using Duolingo, but I always worried about it not having as much audio of the words. This app plays the audio for all of the words and you can just set it to play a category and it will go in a loop, playing and showing the English word, then a pause (which you can set the pause length yourself - LOTS of customisation settings), then the Gaeilge word. I really like that feature as I can type or drive or do stuff around the property and just listen and repeat the words. Brilliant!

Great Irish app. A fun way to practice Irish! Throughly enjoyable Irish language learning app!

A must download!. This is a great app to learn and REMEMBER Irish Gaelic! Some thing that could be fixed is if you don't know a would that maybe it show how to pronounce it by syllables cause some words are hard! But overall definitely this app will teach you something you'll remember!

Wow. Learning a new language is fun, makes me laugh at my attempts of pronunciation.

Not the best. Overall a good app but several problems I’ve noticed such as “sea” (properly spelt Is ea) and “Ní hea” being presented as yes or no when Irish does not have a yes or no. These words better translate as it is and it isn’t respectfully. As well as several pronunciation issues that while some could be dialectical, some are simply wrong however such as Sláinte pronounced “Slawncha” while the audio says “sline-tuh” Definitely not bad as a start but I would recommend the Duolingo course over this as an app for learning Irish

Your app is not accessible to the blind. I downloaded the app to try and learn Gaelic but the app is not accessible the buttons are not labelled and therefore I can go nowhere within the app. In this day and age it’s sad that app developers haven’t gotten it yet.

Cool. I'm only giving it a 4 right now because I just started. Its easy to use I like that you can go into settings and make changes to go at your own speed. Once I get more into the lessons I will be back and update my review based on how easy it is for me to learn and understand the words.

I’m confused. I quite like this app but I’m finding it confusing to understand what it is I’ve downloaded. I thought having paid 16.99 I had all the words available, but when I click some of the categories, it says I gave to pay more to get more words. But when I try to pay it says I’ve paid already. But it looks like I only got 101 words for 16.99 which I don’t think is very good.

English Language Voice. Why does the English Language voice sound so angry? Did she not enjoy the job? The App would be more pleasant to listen to if both the English language and the Irish language voices had native Irish accents.

I can’t get it to stop!. Help! How do I get this thing to stop??? I close out the app and it continues to play as soon as my vehicle or Apple Watch discover it- even without opening up the app. It’s ALWAYS on. I like the app and don’t want to delete it so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nemo Gaeilge is a great tool for learning Irish. Without any previous exposure to Gaeilge, I began learning using the Nemo app about 8 months ago. There weren’t too many alternatives for a less common language. Learning at a pace of 5 words per day is very reasonable for me. The words offered are practical choices. Even if you never go further with language, you will have gained some useful basics. I’ve used Nemo mainly as an audio tool using it on my phone and also paired with my watch. It works easily into my dog walking routine. I have focused mainly on ‘words of the day’, but on longer walks I often use the ‘active words’ using the player’s repeat 8 times feature to practice recall and pronunciation. I’ve adjusted the ‘temperature’ for words that just don’t stick with me so they are offered more often. I’ve remained with the average speed settings and the same voice for my initial exposure to the vocabulary, but I will mix it up whenever I reach the full vocabulary. The ‘explore’ categories are also a great practice feature. Criticisms are few. It would be better to have the ‘practice in player’ arrow at the top of the page rather than at the bottom. Once your vocabulary reaches a couple hundred words it is an awfully long way down the page to reach that arrow button. Also, now that I’ve studied the language more, it would be helpful to have more of an explanation of the word or phrase offered on the screen, though not verbalized. For example, in Gaeilge, there are multiple versions of the numbers depending on what you are describing, living beings vs inanimate. Until I encountered an explanation elsewhere, this was an unnecessary mystery. Nemo is a great introduction to the language. It inspired me to continue and to expand my Gaeilge learning. The price was very reasonable, especially considering my ongoing daily learning practice. Highly recommend giving Nemo a try.
