Great learning app. This app has several types of flash cards for various types of learning. Native—>Language you’re learning and vice-versa, etc etc. Thoroughly enjoy every aspect of this app. Have used it for some Greek, German, and especially Japanese

Native language change. Can the native language be able to changed by user via app rather than through the system settings? I don’t like that I have to reset my iPad language to Korean every time I want to use this app. Since My iPad is set to English for work and school.

Nemo Japanese. This is a good app to learn vocabulary. With different learning options there is no reason not to learn.

MUST HAVE!. This app is really great, and you can find it for other languages too. I learned so much Japnese with this app. So glad I found this. You can choose how many words you learn a day, and it will show you how to say it

Great app to learn Japanese words. This app has helped me learn a few new Japanese words (including spelling in Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji) every day. I have taken 2 Japanese language courses (Beginning 1 and 2) - currently finishing Beginning 2 - and this app is a great way to add to my vocabulary. The key to learning anything new (language or skill) is persistence, wide variety of tools and hard work. If you want to and/or enjoy learning Japanese I recommend this app.

Very good. Love the style of the individual lessons. Where it lacks is overall organization and guided review of what you already covered.

Best app I've found for introductory Japanese.. Very helpful, with audio and phonetic spelling. Useful categories which apply to many travel scenarios. Very flexible with option to slow down the speed of the native speaker. I am using it in conjunction with another site which explains Japanese grammar.

The best Japanese language app I have!. I am U.S. Military stationed in Japan. I have about 10 Japanese language apps on my phone and this is hands down the best! Absolutely worth every penny! I use this app, plus a separate one to study hiragana. Between the 2 I have enough Japanese to get through most of the basics, and learned out in only about a week. Still working and learning, but this app is invaluable!

Working at a Japanese company. I have worked almost 11 years for a Japanese company and have been to Japan 3 times. I have learned more words in one week then I have the entire time I have been here. I know that the translations are correct because when I say them I get an English response telling me what I said with a look of amazement. I love it.

Perfect!. I love this app, I actually learn and retain what this teaches me. I can change the pacing and play it while using other apps. It shows how to read it in Japanese and in English and in Romanji. It's just great, my favorite Japanese app!

Awesome Learning App!. This is a great app for learning words in Japanese, pronouncing them, fixing your own mistakes, and probably for trips to Japan! The thing is, is that you should already know both the Hiragana and Katakana alphabets before you get this app.

Excellent vocab builder and auto-player!. This app has really helped me learn lots of vocab and sayings. I love how many player options there are. There are settings for English to Japanese, Japanese to English, recording your own voice to compare with the app recording, and a repetitive player that says the word 8 times to help you really absorb that word/phrase. I love to use that last mode while driving or washing dishes. This app won't teach you how to become fluent in Japanese, there are no lessons on grammar or how to construct a sentence as far as I can tell, but it does teach you lots of words and phrases to help beef up your conversational skills. The romanji can be turned off of you like so you are forced to read the kana and kanji but it doesn't teach you the kana/kanji specifically. No worries about that though because there are several other great apps for solely teaching the kana and kanji. I've been really pleased with how much I've retained from this app so I will most likely purchase the full version once I learn the free words (I think it's 100?) Nice app!

Good for learning and studying words. I'm using this app along with a few other. This app is great for learning new words and testing yourself. It does not show you grammar, culture aspects, etc. I would give it 5 stars if it allow you to choose what words to study and remove the one you've learned. It also would be nice to have a counter showing how many words are left to review.

I think it's great but. I think this app is OK just OK because it teaches you how to say Japanese words and I learn really quick it's just the fact that I don't know how to spell it and this is a big problem because if I can't spell Japanese then there's really no use in talking it it's great and all but I can't read Japanese side I don't know the markings please fix this it would mean a lot to me it's great you know how to speak it but I really want to be able to read the markings thanks for all the hard work you put into these apps for other people

A good refresher course. I have taken some Japanese lessons many years ago. This app is a good refresher for an upcoming trip to Japan. Clearly, it is good for words and short phrases only, but that is a good icebreaker.

Excellent. Best one I’ve e found. Easy to set up easy to follow. Many choices for learning at your own pace with plenty of simple adjustments to the speed of learning.

Best App for beginners!. I use this app all day. It has assisted me in learning Japanese twice as fast as I would via textbooks alone. I use this app along with my textbooks. My only wish is for more words and phrases to be added as I am almost finished learning all that is available from the purchased version.

An awesome Japenese learning app!. This is one of, if not the best language-learning program I've ever used! It puts Rosetta Stone to shame. The only downside is that if you want to proceed further past the first few learning sections then there's an additional charge. The program is so good, though, that I'm willing to mostly overlook that, and may be even willing to buy it at a later point!

Amazing. I love this app. At first I struggled to look for a good app to help me learn vocabulary, and now that I found one I couldn't be more happy. I am so tempted to pay for the full version.

My favorite language ap. Favorite. Bought the paid version too. My favorite part is the voice learning. Where the speaker says the word, you repeat. Then you hear yourself and the speaker. So you can see how well you are doing.

Great immersion tool. Stationed in Japan I have a plethora of Japanese apps on my phone. This is the one I constantly and consistently come back too. It's so good I bought it in Japanese and other languages! Great for on the train or in the car, good use of everyday words and phrases. The ability to change the writing format helps me work on my reading and the microphone is great for working on pronunciation. Worth the money

Amazing!. This app is truly amazing. I mean, sugoi! I love that I can leave it on while I go about my daily household chores. Wash the dishes, learn Japanese. Fold the laundry, learn Japanese. You get the idea. Even my 5 year old has picked up some words! I also love that the words are color-coded. It helps me know which words are more important and which ones I should review more frequently. I'm currently learning Hiragana, so it's great that the words show how they are written as well as in romaji for easy pronunciation. My conversational Japanese sounds so much better, as well. I

Great app for learning Nihongo. Good interface. Contains a lot of important words and phrases. Way better than most of the other Japanese language apps, but does lack hiragana. I deducted a star from my review because a recent update removed the default English speaking voice in Play mode from a semi realistic female to what sounds like a very low volume version of Stephen Hawking. Can barely hear it even with my phone at max volume. What had been one of the most useful features of this app is now rendered completely useless. Another star will be deducted if this isn’t corrected in the near future.

I love this app. I am trying to go to Japan and haven't been Abel to find a good App to learn Japanese I tried other apps but just got bored I feel that with this app I can sit down and actually learn this app has helped me a lot and I recommend it.

Absolutely love, but glitches a lot.. This is perfect for listening to while working or helping your memory stay sharp. But the app dies without fail every 20 minutes. Because of this I am unable to use it for what I like the most about this app, the hands off aspect.

Love this app!. I love this app! The way it teaches short helpful phrases and tests you as you go. Translation is spoken clearly and distinctly and I can try the same phrase over and over. I’m retaining what I learn! I’m doing the Japanese version but I’d gladly use their other apps. Great programming!

Intelligent Platform. So far so good. The reminder is great and the words really help to increase my Japanese vocabulary. The app also has a very nice interface. Highly recommended for beginners and professionals.

Just what I needed. I love the audio part. It’s like someone drilling me while driving down the road. I’m struggling with the mic on my end a bit though. It doesn’t always play back my recording. When I figure out what’s wrong then I’ll bump to 5 stars. Using this for the repetitive audio drills and memory skills combined with Human Japanese for the in-depth explanations is an absolutely perfect combination. Check it out!

Very user friendly. This is a great on the go app for learning at your own pace. It might not get you fluent in Japanese but it will make you a better tourist and possibly get you interested enough to take it further.

Excellent app. Been a real help having another resource to learn. You still have to put in the effort, as with any other resource but it definitely helps accelerate the process. I like being able to see the word in english and japanese (kanji and phonetic) it makes it easier to stick in your mind.

Mon avis sur Nemo. Je trouve qu’il manque des notions pour quelqu’un qui désire faire du japonais sa deuxième langue. Certaines personnes pourraient même vouloir que le japonais deviennent leur langue principal. Je trouve que pour cette clientèle l’application manque d’organisation, d’exercice, etc. Mais en même temps peut être que l’application d’adresse plus aux gens qui désirent uniquement faire un voyage au Japon de courte durée. Dans ce cas, l’application convient parfaitement et nous permet de nous débrouiller. Voilà pourquoi je donne trois étoiles. Vous les méritez entièrement!

Terrific language tool!. I have been trying to learn Japanese for years, and have invested lots of dollars into Japanese lessons, audio courses and online sources. This free app is so cool, I have decided to go for the real deal. I just downloaded it and it's just awesome. I like the pronunciation of the native speaker and the fact that I can repeat the word or phrase as often as I like before moving ahead. I usually only get free apps, but this is one that I don't regret purchasing. Thanks, Nemo.

Great app.. It's pretty good for learning. Def good stuff. But it takes awhile for new words to be incorporated into your play. Prob for memory. Which is cool but there should be a quick word option. Great app though

Sugoi!!. Awesome... I have downloaded a few apps to learn Japanese. By far this is my favorite. I have the free version but soon will pay for the whole app. With this app I have been able to read and recognize the Japanese characters in less than a week. For those who want to learn Nihongo and do it by themselves, completely recommend this app. I also downloaded Korean (Hangul)☺️☺️☺️☺️

Fabulous beginner app. I am visiting my son for the 1st time in Tokyo. This is a very easy user friendly app. Simple, the speacker system is great also the flash cards I started woth the free ap but ipgraded quickly although you don't need to gor a short trip

Huge problem with this app, read before you purchase in-app. Update: They did multiple app update and I still can't recover my progress! Emailed them numerous times and messaged through Facebook with no response. Definitely would not recommend this app. I was really enjoying this nemo Japanese app. Spent weeks setting it up and tracking my progress. Then I upgraded my iPhone. When I restored from backup, all of my progress was reset! Ugh! I've reached out to the developer, twice on email, once on Facebook. So far no reply. However, since I've emailed them, they did do an app update. So, they're alive, I'm not sure why they're not responding. To sum it up, pretty cool app that has a tremendous issue. And horrible customer service from the developer.

Fantastic Free Beginner App. The Nemo interface and options for learning are flexible and intuitive, and the free starter set of 101 essential words and phrases is generous. Plus, I like that includes Kanji / Japanese script versions of words along with pronunciation for those also learning the script and characters elsewhere. Hope Nemo keeps up the good work across languages!

Nemo. Hello I just wanted to say that using the app Nemo is very good. It helps to teach me a languge that I as an African American wouldn't have been able to learn. I haven't seen a good program like this in awhile so to have it makes me very happy, though I don't ever get into a sitituation of having a conversation with a Japanese person I will be ready someday. You should get this app if you want to learn Japanese!

Great repetition practice. This app has nice repetition options. It’s helped me learn some common phrases.

Amazingly effective!. I just moved to Japan and was interested in learning to communicate with the locals. This app is very easy to use, even my 4 year old daughter is able to use it (and yes, she is learning to speak the simple words and phrases. For free apps, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to create a foundation for rudimentary communication.
