Full Code Pro App Description & Overview

What is full code pro app? The American Heart Association’s Full Code Pro (FCP 3.4) is a free, easy-to-use, mobile app that allows you to quickly document critical interventions during cardiac arrest resuscitation events. This app lets you focus on the patient without sacrificing proper documentation.

FCP 3.4 includes a user controlled metronome with an adjustable rate between 100 and 120 bpm. Now you can use FCP to check your CPR rate performance.

Using this real-time app to log your actions, you can improve the availability and accuracy of documentation of a resuscitation event. This gives you more robust data for review, debriefing and resuscitation quality improvement. FCP 3.3 has a customizable drug list, pre-populated with common cardiac arrest drugs. It also includes lists of common events and rhythms.

It is highly recommended that you back up all of your log files in your database and remove older versions of FCP before installing this new version. All log files and data from version 2.O and 2.2 will NOT transfer to Version 3.4

FCP 3.4 is for use by paramedics, EMT-Bs, emergency room nurses, emergency room physicians and other in- and out-of-hospital healthcare providers.

Ok...but. Nice app, but it won't let me add other medications to the list. When I hit other, it says to type a name for the medication, but there is no place to type it. Otherwise nice app.

Great App. Used this app for ACLS class and then for a code. It’s an awesome app for recording. It sends you an email of the entire code. Times of start and stop for all events, cpr, drug admin, shocks, etc!!

Not helpful. This is not. Helpful app a all. The user interface doesn't lend itself to ease of use during a code. The last thing you should be messing with is a data tool like this while working a code.

Interesting App. I have not used it during a code, not am I real sure that I will. It certainly does everything you need it to do and more. I am not sure I would take the time during the code to use this. That being said, I certainly will consider it if I have enough providers and I can stand back and just "run the code"

Metronome. It would be awesome if the metronome worked.....I have an iPhone 7 and I think this app needs someone to look at it more frequently than 3yrs (3yrs since it’s last update)

Data collection !. This is a gr8 app ! We been using it for pit crew CPR and its gr8 real time information.

Good for teaching, but….. I installed this on my iPad to try it out and can see how it would be useful when teaching, but why not anAndroid version too? Not everyone lives 24/7 in Appleland.

Good, needs improvements. This app is functional. I just wish it was able to keep the screen on when in use, or to continue the metronome when the screen is off or when you press the home button. Was trying it during a simulated code, and suddenly after a minute the metronome stopped because my screen was off. That's just not great. Also, I would prefer if there was a way to get the metronome to override vibrate. I was wondering why it wasn't working but then I flipped the vibrate switch to sound and it worked fine until the screen turned off.

Needs improvement. Overall I like this app, but there are a couple of critical items missing. Once the rhythm is identified as VF or VT, The app should be able to prompt you to defibrillate every 2 mins. The app should also have a metronome and prompt a change in compressors every 2 minutes.

Great app... But.... I really like using this app during codes, however there is a major flaw. My phone locks when the app is open and time is wasted every time I have to unlock the screen. A programmer should easily be able to add a line of code to disable locking when app is open. Many other apps do this already, far less important ones... Also, last update made the epi timer not function...

MD. Great app but epinephrine clock is not running.

Possible changes and issues. App is a great idea but here are my issues and ideas: Metronome does not work with the current version of iPhone IOS (9.3.2). Needs to alarm when 2 minutes of CPR is complete and again when CPR has been "paused" for greater than 10 seconds. Maybe make drug time editable to local protocols and alert able.

Great app. Needs bug fixes. Sometimes when adding events or drugs you can’t scroll through the list and you won’t always see what you have added.

Needs one thing. This app well-intentioned and well-conceived, however one component that should be added is a metronome for optimal compressions. I shouldn't have to have this app AND my metronome running in two separate screens.

Other options do not work.. Under rhythm and medications, if I click on other to document a different med or rhythm it kicks me out of the app.

ARCHAIC, and useless!!. This app is one of many code running apps I’ve seen!! IT IS THE WORST. So lacking!

Metronome Still Doesn’t Work. The concept of the app seems really great but it doesn’t seem that difficult to fix the metronome. Can we please get an update?

Stopped working. We’re having issues with all our FullCodePro apps. Allows us to use on tablets and iphones but the feature at end of code to fill out code details then email summary isn’t working. Input screen clears and nothing is sent. We’ve tried on multiple devices. Are you coming out with updated version?

Simple and effective, mostly. My gripe with using this app is that it needs to stay on screen just like Google maps does when you are navigating. In a code situation everyone is wearing gloves and a phone with this app is likely to get passed around. Not if, but when the screen locks it renders the app dead, you are stuck giving out your password or removing your glove to unlock the phone.

Metronome does not work when screen is off. The metronome does not work when the screen goes to sleep. You do not want to find yourself doing compressions and after 30 seconds lose your metronome, or worse have someone dedicated to keeping the phone awake.

Metronome doesn’t work on iPad mini. Metronome doesn’t work on iPad mini, but not a bad app overall.

Full Code Pro. An interesting Health Care App. However I can't forward it to a friend to make them aware of the app. Hope that gets fixed.

Use to work. Doesn't work anymore. Needs update

Some bugs. Gets stuck at times after running a code so you are unable to input any text above team leader. I can imagine this for coprorate use in a hospital except that you have the option to email the information to anyone. If it was locked to only allow the email to go to the default address in the more section I could see this being adopted in many facilities.

Good, not great. It would be much more helpful if the timers counted down instead of up (i.e. 30 seconds to next epi)

crash. app crashes clicking medication during a code and closed

Full Code Pro is junk. This is a useless piece of junk. The American Heart Association should be ashamed for endorsing this app. Just one thing that should be a dealbreaker: there is apparently no way to correct a mistaken entry. Returning to this negative review after a year or so , nothing I have learned about thisapp has change my mind. There are some proprietary apps out there that are much better than this but of course they cost money. WhatIs neededIs a good fr. ee app that could become a standard two across hospitals. It would be a major project but it would be worth it for research and quality improvement The AHA should step up and make this happen. But please don’t start by modifying this app. It is fundamentally junk..

Times. The shock time start to run when you start the code without click the shock button. The epinephrine time doesn't run. On iPad the app crash when you try to email it.

Medic. Great app. Please add a metronome for CPR pace.

Customize feature doesn't work. I'm a pharmacist that goes on codes. I got the app to help me keep track of the drugs, especially the ones you don't use that often to help save time. But the customize feature, as pointed out in another review, does not work. There is no box to type in your own entry. Please fix!!! I would love to be able to get rid of the book I have to carry with me.

Works great.. Old app, but still works great!

Practical but not needs modifiction. Used the app for the first time tonight in a real code. Had I not already customized the events and meds to encompass everything we normally do and give during a code it wouldn’t have been as effective as it was. The Timers were helpful. I wish it would allow you to edit entries during (ie clicked the wrong action or med). Otherwise you would have to remember which entry was wrong and delete it from the log after everything was done. All in all a useful tool if you prepare it before hand.

Good as is. I noticed that some comments have good intent, but I think this app works fine as is. I use a timer app that can be set to repeat an alarm for as long as I want, and I use a separate metronome, since I am tone deaf, this way I can hear it. The main use for timing in this app is awesome. However, unless you are not the one getting your hands "dirty" then the app is fine. If you are the one working the code, then you might not want to touch your phone, and there is not an app for that. But a clear plastic bag would work I guess. Of course I am talking about on scene, not in hospital. Still I highly recommend this app as it is.

Add CCF. This should calculate CCF for you and show at end of log as a percentage.

Amazing. This is an amazing App- have used in real world a must have!!!

Awesome. This is a great app for all medical personal! Running a code can be very difficult at times, but this app will take out a lot if the frustration. I do wish it had a metronome to keep a steady rate of compressions. Otherwise, seems very useful!

No updates in 2 years basic functionality broken. Metronome doesn't work. That's a big deal. Hasn't been fixed in over 2 years. Clearly developer doesn't care. Skip this mess.

Great but need update. This is a great app for tracking codes. I especially like that it saves your codes and the logs can be emailed. But it hasn’t been updated in years and the metronome, an awesome feature, is no longer working on my new phone.

Great app. Only thing that would make this better would be adding the algorithm. Like giving vasopressin or epi as a quick click button on the first round.

Great concept, needs tweaking. I disagree with the lower ratings for this app. I use this when teaching acls and pals and I will use it in real life too as it is a superior recording tool. The app needs some decision support however. At a minimum, PDFs of current algorithms should exist as links or pop ups to make sure the code team is on track.

Good tool. I only wish it had an auditory component. It would very helpful to have an vocal cue when 2 minutes has passed since the last drug, etc.

Useless. The app works ok. Good for recording the major events. The alarm suggestions in other comments are good ideas. Main problem is you can’t get the activity logs off your phone. FAQs say you can email them but there’s actually no option to do this. Maybe a lack of compatibility with newer iOS versions?? Looks like app has been abandoned by the developer. I’ve emailed support. No response at all.

Thanks, one suggestion:. This is a great tool, but in your next update can you include the ability to hear the metronome while in silent mode? If someone’s phone is on silent, they may not think “I need to turn my ringer on” when this app is truly needed the most. Thanks!

Making a watch version. If a smart watch (apple specifically) version could be created that would be fantastic!!!

Metronome Does Not Work. I have IOS 15.6.1 and the metronome does not work. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times with no luck. It’s a shame because the app has the potential to be incredibly functional but I originally downloaded the app solely for the metronome.

Good idea, can be improved. The AHA recommends this for BLS instructors to use. In that context, it'd be great to have a log of elapsed time for each entry. For example, that last round of CPR took 16 seconds, they paused CPR for 8 seconds, etc. It'd also be great if it would calculate chest compression fraction (CCF). For the log to be really useful, I'd need to download the data and make a bunch of calculations. Real-time feedback would be much better not only for training but also during a real call.

Easy to use. Pretty simple to use. Seems straight forward.

Needs work. It looks like this app hasn’t been updated in 5 years, yet it’s still part of AHA’s training program. Needs support for newer iPhones, especially putting the metronome play button somewhere that isn’t covered by the volume slider. Also, this app isn’t setup to keep the phone awake. You could be midway through cpr, and if your phone goes to sleep, the metronome stops. Also can’t adjust metronome BPM while it’s ticking. Hopefully AHA will spruce up this app, but for now, I wouldn’t recommend.

Not a home run but darn good. For a free app this is great. Keeps track of multiple timers including CPR, last shock, last epi etc. The log is invaluable if you are a small team. My only wish is that the metronome defaulted to 110 instead of 100. I can easily live with any other quirks.

No audio cue to the metronome. I got this app when looking for something to provide audio cues to the metronome - which this app does not have.

No reminders. There are no reminders in as app when you were performing ACLS An app that reminds you every two minutes to stop CPR and check pulse is HUGE and this app doesn’t do that. Documentation aspect of it is great!

Helpful in documentation. Great app. Very helpful in documentation after the call.
