Just get the paper copy. Cannot even get the app to log in using my information. It simply displays a loading image for all of eternity. I am using Safari to view the ebook instead, also a disaster and nearly impossible to view properly online.

Horrific App, Does not work. Product does not work and AHA blames iOS 8. Worse, they have an app where their purchased product does not work and to date will not issue a refund. Total ripoff with no help and nothing but lies from their “support”. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I now have to dispute the charge and will report to BBB and certainly consumer affairs.

Very bad. This is the worst e-reader app I have ever seen. My book would not open offline after download. Embarrassing for an app that provides such critical emergency medical resources. It would make more sense to distribute these books via a reliable, existing platform such as Kindle. If you are considering purchasing AHA resources, I strongly recommend purchasing a physical copy.

Nothing but errors. I have issues with the app telling me “device limit reached” no matter what steps I take to fix it. Good thing I have wifi access at the class site.

Needs a LOT of optimizations. Some icons are hidden in white, navigation is a nightmare

No sound. Can’t hear the video on app. Have to be online.

Great once you get your book. Had trouble finding the 2015 ACLS Provider Manual. It would not show up on the bookshelf in the bookshelf view. Spent almost an hour with tech support. Before I just happened I to switch to it mode and there it was. Still can't see it in the in-app bookstore, hence I purchased it using a regular web browser.

Total waste of money and then time attempting to keep it working. The desktop version is barely adequate - was unable to download one of the purchased titles for months, then it just magically seemed to work. Since then the desktop title has worked but face it - we purchase an electronic version for the easy access and it has never been reliable disappearing ad lib and only sometimes reappearing when I sync the account. I just ended a phone call with tech support and they cannot access the network to assist. I very much regret not going with the paper version and am attempting to obtain a refund. This has been a most unsatisfactory experience. Update - they tell me that they will keep working on the issue but will not refund my money as the purchase went through a third party Channing Bete who also refused me a refund. AVOID THIS APP/ebook.

Terrible interface. This app in no way deserves 4.5+ stars.. Another way for AHA to limit accessibility and increase revenue. If I had ANY other choice, I would use it.

Does not work. Will not load my purchases. Keep getting error message and then the ap logs me out. This happens over and over

Terrible User Interface. As others have said, hands down a terrible reader. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, this is the only choice of reader if you want AHA books on an iOS device. But really, they need to through this reader in the garbage bin and write/buy one that actually is useable.

Great idea. Needs work. The app is nice when you can use it. The lack of app support is troublesome. For instance when you cannot sign in on a new phone because the app states you are signed in on too many devices. It would be nice to unauthorize a device I no longer have. Update: no matter what I do the app will not allow me to Login. As soon as it goes through, it kicks me off.

THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE!!. This update that changed the interface fixed all the navigating issues I was having. Before, you couldn’t scroll or select an icon on the top menu without having to try several times or having it lose your place. It’s now simple to select which resource you wish to open and all the top menu items aren’t overlapping. Now it’s a easy to access resource.

No longer works. I was pleased with the app until the most recent update. Now I cannot open the app so it is useless.

Not working for 6 years at least. I’ve Never been able to get this app to work! 6 years! I try every year! You’ve waisted my money and time.

Won’t Log In - Useless. This app will not log me in, after several attempts on several days. I just keep seeing a loading screen. Therefore, this app is useless. Also, if you click on “App Support” it send you to the “Contact Us” page on the American Heart Association’s website. I could have done that, if I wanted to talk to someone about the AHA in general. I want to talk to someone about how to login to this app.

Waste of time. I downloaded the app. Then purchased the ACLS ebook on their site. Go back to the app, ebook isn’t there. Call back to support, 3rd time now. No one available. Have spent over an hour on this crap technology. For the amount they charge I expect better interface. Just buy the hard copy and wait for it in the mail. How is this app rated 4.8 stars???? Most of what I now see are 1 star and all the same issues. Your app is crap! Fix it please.

Doesn’t work.. Doesn’t work. I was forced to buy this last minute for a class tomorrow, and cannot login to my account through the app or on any mobile device. Why can’t we just download a PDF file book? Get rid of this app, you’re stressing healthcare professionals out who just need to get their certs.

Crashes every time I try to log in. I have not once been able to successfully log into this app. The app crashes every single time I type in my login information. I feel like I wasted $40 on the eBook that I just purchased because I cannot view it unless I am on the AHA website. Shameful.

How did this app get 4.8 stars?. This is one of the worst ebook readers I’ve happened to use on my phone. The controls for it are place in a way you can’t use them. It is very hard to press the back button or any other button at the top of the screen. The ones that appear at the bottom of the screen are worst, don’t work at all. Anyone using an iPhone 12, I don’t recommend this app until they fix it. Hopefully it’ll be soon. Pretty disappointed with this app that is meant for education.

App will not allow log-in capabilities. I have tried logging into the app multiple times and it doesn’t log in. I can login without any problems going straight to the website, but when I’m teaching a class I need this app to work.

Horrible to navigate. Just buy the physical book I’d rather carve a page of text into my skin than use this dog water sorry excuse for an ebook reader from a clearly money hungry association that is that AHA, forcing every healthcare profession to buy their stupid Manuel they only use twice a year

Functionality needs to improve. I have excellent vision...but had to find an ancient magnifying glass to be able to actually read the algorithm components of my e-book because you can’t use the common iPhone capability of making the text view bigger by using 2 fingers to expand the content. I have an iPhone X. I have the same issue on my Apple notebook computer with this e-reader. If this issue can’t be fixed, I don’t know why AHA just can’t allow normal downloads into iBooks or Kindle (or other types of personal libraries). This is intolerable. Just get the hard copy book and algorithm pocket guides if you have the time to wait for them. If not — get a very good magnifying glass and good luck!! Forget using it clinically in an emergency due to this situation...unless you have a high quality magnifying glass in your pocket.

Does not work. I just purchased 4 books on the AHA website for a class tomorrow. I have tried on 2 different devices with the same result. The app crashes at the end of downloading the book. Then when I restart the app and select the book, it will error out and instruct me to download the book again. I am using iOS 8 on an iPad and iPhone 6+.

AHA Ebook App. I love that you can load books onto this app from iPad or IPhone. It’s a very nice feature!!

New PALS card not formatted correctly. I had the 2016 PALS card and it was great. It was just like having a hard copy. The 2020 card isn’t formatted correctly the columns aren’t spaced right and the Braslow card is portrait not landscape which makes it unusable. In an emergency where Im not at work and don’t have my card Im going to have to use the old one and remember the updates.

Flips pages when trying to highlight.... I am using it for ACLS Instructor manual. When trying to highlight, it flips pages. When trying to swipe up and down to navigate, it opens chapters in another page. When trying to find a specific checklist, I cannot browse through pages or contents with a glance...I need to scroll manually through all section content. Gave it two stars because I was able to place bookmarks and (frustratingly) get some content highlighted, and this made it usable for navigation. Still a better option for me than carrying a weighty book.

Such a waste!. Students & instructors be warned!!! With so many great e-readers available, AHA has dropped the ball on this proprietary app. As an instructor I was hoping this would would be useful, but it couldn't be further from the truth. No page numbers to index with students using a textbooks! Highlighting and notation is an absolute joke! View sizing is worthless! Pages just scroll together making checklists & lesson maps run together! One star is being too generous! So much for going paperless, guess it's back to textbooks!

Don't usually rate apps. It seems a bit slow on my iPad .... First generation...nevertheless it's a great app with some cool features...

App does not work at all!. Do not waste your money on any ebooks from Aha. Their eBook app does not work. You can't get signed in, so even after you buy their eBook on line it does no good because their app will not allow you to sign in to get your book, their tech support is an email address that doesn't respond so you are out of luck if you want to get their eBook. They offer nothing for visually impaired customers. Just a waste of time and money. Do not get this app!

Terrible App. Terrible app by all means, navigation is lame, no bookmarks for sections, slow, and difficult to read algorithms. Alas, hard copy of manual and card weren’t provided to me when I registered to PALS course! If you want to shift to electronic solutions please do it right or keep on old fashion!!

Horribly unresponsive interface. It just sticks on a page, can't get it to move sometimes. Would be very handy if it would respond better to gestures. Seriously people, just buy the book. I can't move between the self review questions and the answer sheet at the back of the book unless I log out of my ipad and log in again. Time waster!

Useless Garbage. If one cannot print the ACLS algorithms to use and take to class, then this renders the reader completely useless. The same is true of the eBook. What a complete waste of my time and resources. Next time I’ll purchase a used book. Thus, bypassing any monetary compensation to an organization that deems it necessary to control the copy that “I Own”!

Recommendations. I love being able to access my life support materials electronically. However, they are very difficult to read in this format. It would be better if the life support cards were presented in the digital format with each page exactly as they appear as cards. As if I was simply looking at a screen shot or PDF version of the card, flipping through it page by page. Same problem with the ECC handbook.

If you bought the AHA ebook, use this!. App works as intended, dont see why people are complaining. Its not buggy for me and as long as you download it you can read it offlinee. You must buy the book from their website. I dont believe you can buy a book from the app. I got the ACLS package and the books read and work fine. Update: After buying this book and using it to pass my ACLS it has been valuable for me to have it as an Ebook. Id recommend this to anyone as it works fine and as intended (and to save the space for carrying the book). If I had one suggestion I wish they would let me print the ACLS algorithms and ecards, but they don't let us.

DOESN’T WORK ON ANY APPLE DEVICE!. App doesn’t work on any Apple device. I tried it on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook and the app never got passed the sign on page. I contacted AHA support and they said to uninstall the app restart my device and reinstall the app. Did that on all three devices and nothing. Waste of time trying to get the app to work and waste of money buying the ebook.

Not user friendly. PDFs are better. There are no page numbers and trying to search for something is very difficult. How is this an improvement? It's also a waste of money. Might as well chip in with friends and buy the actual book!

Can’t log in. Already purchased a book from the website but whenever I try to log in on the app it just loads perpetually and never logs in. Bummer, I really need this book for my class☹️

???. I can log in BUT Library is blank. It says you have no books. I have tried the sync option multiple times. On the website all my books are in my library. I wanted an eBook so I can read it on my iPad. Why don’t you just publish it on iBooks or Kindle. Leave the technical stuff to people with the know how.

Great option for people who use their device for reading. Although I would have preferred an eBook option that I could read with my existing eReader apps (e.g., Nook), they have created an app that functions perfectly well.

Awesome app for reading ebooks. Cool app. I can make & save notes and carry them along with me everywhere. It helps me a great deal with my course.

Terrible app, terrible support. The app was practically useless. I was not able to open the books which I had already downloaded on the 2nd day I had the app just before my class. It just kept shutting down. I tried re installing and signing in again without success. The support chat is a joke. I sent a message at 3 pm and there was no response till 2 am the next day. How is that helpful to have a chat with 12 hour response delay replying in the middle of the night and not even with any actual help. This needs some serious improvement. Not sure where the 5 star ratings are coming from.

Does not work with my iPad air or iPhone 10.. I purchased book for my ACLS class today. I’ve tried several times to open on my iPhone 10 but it simply doesn’t, keeps logging out. I tried on my IPad Air it does the same. Now that’s very disappointing.

Keeps crashing. Every time I open a book the app crashes and completely closes. This has only happened since I updated to the newer version. Now I can’t assess any of my books or cards.

doesn’t work with OS12. really upset that i lost my 2016 ebook and and functioning eReader to this supposedly compatible download. the old book was still good for reviewing but why buy a new one if the app doesn't even work on my my IPad?

Frustrating. Needs work...highlight feature is difficult to initiate without accidentally going to "full screen". Any change in orientation of your device manipulates the page to cut certain portions of the script. Different actions take you to the beginning of the chapter for no reason. Buy the book!!

Horrible. Why would you limit viewing your ebooks to only your website or app unless it’s a pure money grabbing scheme?? Please the interface is horrible to use. Please just let us download a pdf and use our preferred reader.

What a way to complicate things.... One click on any part of the page and the app loads the same section and when you go back it loses time on loading the same part you were reading. Also highlighting/unhighlighting must improve. Waste of time, should have bought hard copy of the book.

AHA ebook videos. I have an iPad and the videos will play but there is no sound. I have tried to re download the videos and the app as well. Still no luck. Is there anything else I might be able to do to fix this?

Update badly needed. This app is great but I wish there is an update to fix the whole thing. Despite the fact that you can switch from vertical to horizontal view, you can't fit 1 page in 1 screen only. Even changing the fonts and size of the font, still you can't see everything written on the bottom page of every page. Tried comparing every page with the actual book - app on horizontal view, you can't see all the text on the bottom. Kindly fix as this is a good app for your books...

It is good!. Purchased ebook from AHA and disappointed when instead of getting a download code and a pdf file, I was asked to read the book in their online library. Then I downloaded this app which allowed me to download the book and use it similar to ipad's native books app. Not a bad application and easy to use. Gave 4 stars because there is no explanation in AHA website on how to use it which makes things difficult for novice users.

Useless system. Waste of time and money. Bought an ebook. I need their app to read it. Problem is there is no relationship between buying book and getting a password. Change password does not work. Hopeless. And I need the book for tomorrow's course. A PDF would do fine.

Crashes. Thanks for the update BUT… v6.4.3 The new update crashes and I can’t open my textbooks. Not great for my iPad Pro with current iOS.

This app does not work!. So I purchased ACLS and BLS to review on my iPad and I cannot even access them!!! First the app wouldn't recognize my username and password then it finally did (and, yes I was entering the correct information) and now that it has it won't open the books, it keeps saying delete and Download again, which I have done about 20 times and it still doesn't work. PLEASE FIX SO I CAN USE THE BOOKS TO REVIEW FOR MY COURSES!!!!!

Doesn't work. Just say logging in, then says network connection lost. Already purchased the non-refundable ebook before I realized this... Pretty bad investment, want my $12 back.

Waste of time app-Lemons anyone?. I just downloaded this app and it doesn't recognize mu credentials! I can log in easy via a pc/laptop. This app is paved with, just that, good intentions. I will not recommend it to anyone. I rated this a one star because it won't let me give it a zero star rating.

Needs MUCH Improvement. Hard to maneuver. Bad page layout. Any change in orientation takes you to the beginning of the chapter. Changing pages may clip top of page off with the app header. At this time a total waste of $$. Should have gotten hard copy instead

Not working properly. My app does not work properly. If I leave the app, it doesn't show text the next time you open it. Just 17 pages of pictures. I have to uninstall and reinstall each time I want to open the app. Wish I'd just purchased the book.

AHA are tyrants.. They require this basic book and after purchasing you only get to "view" through an app? No download no print? Bunch of garbage. It's not like the book is revolutionary. It contains the following. Make sure scene is safe. Call for help and get AED. Start CPR compressions at 30x2. The end.

Are they kidding?!. I have to renew my first aid/CPR for an event. Two choices: American Red Crossing Los Angeles 270 miles away, one-way or a first aid class with Mammoth Hospital (Elevate Mammoth) in Mammoth Lakes, California. Like a fool, I paid $60 for the Mammoth Lakes course which may or may not be canceled. Then $20.50 for the AHA (Texas) online course. Come to discover after five phone calls to five different AHA affiliates, that the required course book is now available through the AGA app except by purchase through yet another affiliate and is an additional purchase to the online book that can only be read in a browser. None of this is disclosed in the online documentation. Be forewarned. Take the sure thing and drive the extra 540 miles round-trip: American Red Cross. I’m so upset, I’m about to have a heart attack!

Books are not in my Library. I have had this app now for over a year. I have purchased many books; however, only one shows up and the rest never link. Great idea but terrible

The single worst app I've used. This is literally the most pathetic user interface I've ever encountered. It's unusable.

Argh!!. This is a terrible app! No page turner, link to student resources requires flash that isn't available for iPad! Link to updates doesn't work.

Caveat Emptor. The elibrary will not allow me to view my purchased book on my iPad. What I thought would be a convenience is another donation to the AHA. Either use a standard format for ebooks or just give us a PDF!

IPad app does not work- Does not allow login. App does not open on my iPad Pro or iPad 2019. It lets me initiate the process of logging in but just loads and loads without ever logging in. At least the android app lets me log in to see the book I purchased. A PDF option for the CPR book would have been far more helpful as I cannot actually access the book I purchased in my course since it cannot be downloaded from the website and this app does not work. Zero stars if possible, a really unfortunate waste of money for a book that is required for the CPR class but cannot be accessed.

Can you say CRAP?. log in with your AHA credentials. Not a problem. Oh that's right it does not recognize my AHA credentials. Contacted AHA no help. So the money spent on ebooks is wasted. I will have to purchase the paper version in essence paying double Let's give it a -20 stars.

1 star. Why is it so hard to redeem an access code

Terrible app that is not reliable. Cannot access the text to the e-book I bought, thinking I would be able to use on the go through my iPhone.

Fix it. This app is horrible! Don't get it. I don't know what causes it but I'll be in the middle of a chapter then it'll suddenly take me back to the beginning of the book or completely log out of the app!

Still terrible. I wish I had seen these reviews before purchasing the ebook format. The app is glitchy, when content is accessible the pagination whereby each chapter is a single long scrollable page is extremely irritating and inconvenient. It is not at all like an ebook. The pocket card algorithms also suffer from terrible pagination- I cannot imagine trying to reference them in a code situation. I emailed the listed contact to request a refund. The manual is only necessary once every couple of years but the pocket cards are handy to have in my coat pocket. I hoped the e-version would be even more accessible since my phone is my pager, but no. I would rather carry the physics cards. Hope I can get my money back to purchase the hard copies.

Won't Open. This app will no longer open a the BLS book I purchased. When it was working it wasn't useful in class, as there are no page numbers for the instructors to refer students to. Telling students to turn to page 27 in the text to follow along with the class does not help students with this version of the book. Also, there are too many steps to purchase the textbooks. You must go online and create an account, purchase the text, then log into the app and download the book. I have contacted the AHA about this and even reported it to our regional AHA Account Manager. They should have just contracted with iTunes and Amazon to create an eBook. If they can't get an eBook app to work properly, I hope they don't get into producing eCertifications as they have planned....

AHA RIP-OFF. ZERO STARS!. I just want my e-book. For the love of Spock and Captain Kirk, I am an AHA instructor, and I cannot even get my resources from which I teach!! This is pretty bad, guys😞.

Crap App. Yeah apparently my first review was deleted because I used swear words in it which is a ridiculous reason to delete an honest review.Anyways, got referred to different numbers in “customer service” cause they refused to actually help me with my problems. Ended up figuring it out myself. I think it’s only fair i get a position in customer support for that reason🤷‍♀️.

Horrible. This is a zero-star app. Constantly crashes, the Table of Contents for a book never opens, and turning pages is clumsy. Makes me regret not buying the paper book!

It’s not working.. Just bought an ebook from the AHA website. You’d expect it to be available on the app. I paid real money to have it sitting there waiting for me. Like buying a novel on my Kindle. Well, it’s not there. This app is broken. AHA took my money.

Unable to Access eBook. After paying $75.95 for an eBook, I’m not able to access it from my mobile device after multiple attempts of installing/uninstalling the app for book retrieval.
