KORG iPolysix for iPad App Description & Overview

What is korg ipolysix for ipad app? iPolysix is an analog polyphonic synthesizer that's been carefully designed to take full advantage of the 7.9-inch display of the new iPad mini as well as the iPad. Bringing together a sequencer, drum machine, and even a mixer, it transforms your iPad or iPad mini into the ultimate analog synth studio. Pack an amazing set of early-'80s analog equipment into your iPad, and time-travel back to the dawn of polyphonic synthesizers!

Highlights:
● The world-wide best-selling Polysix polyphonic synthesizer, fully replicated on your iPad
● Use the newly developed Polyseq polyphonic step sequencer to control the Polysix
● A music production environment including two Polysix units, a drum machine, and a mixer
● Dual Kaoss Pads with chordal support make it easy for anyone to play analog synth sounds
● Polyshare powered by SoundCloud lets you publish, share, and remix songs with iPolysix users

● The world-wide best-selling Polysix polyphonic synthesizer
Korg's Polysix, a six-voice analog polyphonic synthesizer, went on sale in 1981. While a popular synthesizer of that time was able to produce only five notes simultaneously, the Polysix had six-note polyphony, and its name was an expression of its designers' pride. iPolysix uses Korg's proprietary "CMT" (Component Modeling Technology) to simulate the actual electronic circuits of the original unit, perfectly reproducing the original Polysix.

● The newly developed Polyseq polyphonic step sequencer
Polyseq is a polyphonic step sequencer that provides up to 64 steps, newly developed in order to take full advantage of the Polysix's capabilities. Polyseq provides a different operating feel than a conventional piano-roll sequencer or even a step sequencer; it's a new yet somehow familiar experience, as if you were retracing the evolution of electronic musical instruments. Don't miss the opportunity to try out this perfect match; the Polysix+Polyseq.

● A music production environment including two Polysix units, a drum machine, and a mixer
iPolysix has been created as a professional music production tool. In addition to two Polysix units, it provides a six-part drum machine, and an analog mixer that's reminiscent of the KMX-8 mixer. You'll have everything you need to produce great sounding music. Surrounded by analog equipment, you'll imagine that you've time-traveled back to the early '80s.

● Dual Kaoss Pads with chordal support
The large multi-touch display shows two Kaoss Pads which you can control using both hands to perform music. This enables creative performance even for those who have no musical knowledge. These Kaoss Pads have been customized for iPolysix to allow not only single-note performance, but also chordal playing with just one finger; a new experience made possible only by a combination of new and old technology, the Polysix+Kaoss Pad.

● Polyshare powered by SoundCloud lets you publish, share, and remix songs with iPolysix users around the world
Polyshare is a function for iPolysix users to share their songs. It's based on SoundCloud, the song sharing service favored by music creators. You can make your song available to iPolysix users around the world simply by uploading the song directly from the app. You can download and upload remixable tracks. It's easy to enjoy remixing and collaboration with users around the world.

Desperately needs an update. The MIDI functionality of this app is way behind the evolution of iOS. Has very limited IAA support--buyer beware. I would have expected more upkeep from a company like Korg.

Great reproduction, still buggy. Used to own a Polysix and this has got fantastic reproduction of the synth. This combined with the pad and drums makes it a great app. Has some issues with stuck keys when using an external controller. My axiom aftertouch locks notes down that can't be turned off unless you stop the app, or overload the six keys at once to cause them to drop. Controllers also falsely trigger notes. One recommendation for a new feature is to allow external sync of the arpegiators.

Past due for an update. With the one year anniversary coming up in little over a week since the last update, I'd say it's past due for one, nothing major as the synth is what it is, but to make it more iOS 10 friendly, and something that would actually make it a big update, make it able to open in Gadget, or what would be even better, make it an audio unit. It's still a great synth, but let's not get complacent, as we know how apps can get when they aren't at the very least, insured to run with the latest iOS without any hiccups.

Innovative yet Archaic. Latency results in sequencer parallax, always. So every melody 1/16th note has to be adjusted, along with tie/velocity. Asinine. Learning that clearing a track leaves a 4bar kick and a 1/16th A is annoying. Adjusting metronome should be available on drum screen, why is it on the mixer? Having an on/ off click rather than a dud bar would be useful. Sounds: depth and complexity are phenomenal. Effects: multiple knob memory: mind bogglingly enjoyable. I wish there was an undo button sometimes. I could almost make a full song if I could get four instruments and a graphic interface that showed arrangement, but that's what I use FLMobileStudio for. Copying and pasting patterns seems blind, I wish there was a piano roll GUI. I love posting and listening on sound cloud, very motivating. With the sequencer, and multiple knob memory this app is way more useful and enjoyable than Animoog. With iPolysix when I decide to post something I have a strong sense of ownership about the sound I feel I have created, and yet the outcome is always way beyond my control and vastly more interesting than I had imagined. -Propaganda's Fate

Very powerful, great sound. I want to give it 5 stars, yet the limited track layers is my only gripe. Yet it's new, I am sure they will update...or perhaps I haven't figured that out. Still, I have already made five songs in 1 day, and audio copy and sending to GarageBand allows for a ton more flexibility. The sounds are great, the drum machine is basic yet you can tweak the sounds in the synth engine which is huge. Well worth the price...oh and it's way more intuitive than the ms20 app, if that was your fear. Overall, a great component for music creating within the ipad or even sending to a DAW.

Tempo Tempo Tempo. This app would easily get five stars if most of my time with it wasn't spent trying to adjust tempo I love the step sequencer, drum sounds, and presets but I'd love it even more if even there weren't decimals involved its too touchy . Add two arrows to make small adjustments after turning the dial, fix this and I'll easily give 5 stars and update the review.

Back to the future. After owning a Polysix in the 1980's, I always appreciated its fine sound and ease of programming. When MIDI came about, it was sold to make room for more modern synths. Still, many times I wished I had kept it. Forward to the present day, I'm rebuilding my synth arsenal with help of an iPad and AKAI Synthstation 49. I received the email the other day from Korg announcing this release. Couldn't wait until I got home to download it and start making sounds. Everything I loved about the original is here plus several outstanding improvements. Most important, the sound and ease of programming compare equally with the original. One minor thing- I didn't remember the original not having portamento. Alas, neither does this app. Now that would be worth adding in a future update. Overall, a great job bringing back this wonderful synth.

Needs an update and more sounds. I love the Korg Legacy Collection on the Mac and PC, a package that includes the Polysix. In comparison, the IOS Polysix is a letdown. There aren't very many sounds, and the small controls don't encourage programming. The polysix is a fairly simple synth, but it seems to operate at the edge of my iPad3's processing power. Try Sunriser, Cassini, iSem or Thor if you are looking for a synth that can go beyond simplistic techno music.

Worthless. This app should not cost 30 dollars! Ithas some bugs and it is difficult to use and there are plenty of other apps that cost less and work great! I do not know how Korg gets a reputation for being great...their stuff is complicated and buggy!

🚨. Needs an Update. Fix the SoundCloud feature and please add some new presets

Blue Gizmo stolen through backdoor!. I once proudly and quickly made the track blue gizmo which I believe is now preloaded with this app. There was somekind of backdoor in the App connected to KORG, I believe I was on a server or something. After my session was completed a pop-up appeared. It displayed menus for Artist name and Year input.. For whatever reason I chose not to use my real name and instead inputted KORG.. I was actually kind of scared. I could have used an alias but no I put KORG. I'm assuming they misunderstood like they could have It or they got mixed up and it ended as a default project.. Weird right..? And evil. After updating the app I no longer have the ability to input artist name or year.. Now why would they go and do such a thing? What's really going on with these apps and how much are they stealing from users taking the credit?!

Awesome best music app. This app it's the most awesome app to make some electronic music by far I have tried several and this one beats all of them by far. If you got 15 buck to spare don't buy any other app buy this one. You can make your own sounds in everything drums and synths that's what I love about it. The only thing I wish it had its a voice recorder to put words in your songs that would make this app perfect.

Good DAW. I have several synth apps for the iPad, and for $20, this is a pretty powerful soft synth/DAW. It's easier to use and more intuitive than the iMS-20, although the drum sounds aren't as full as I'd like. For a pure synth, Animoog is still my favorite, but this one has some good sounds that are easy to manipulate. I wish you could do more that two effects on the waveforms, but for $20, I'm not going to complain. Plus you get the Kaoss pad, which is pretty cool. Not sure it tops FLStudio or Nanostudio, but it's respectable and worth including in your iPad synth arsenal.

Really excellent new synth. Very slick interface, very easy to use. Sound quality is fantastic. Maybe the best part of it is the enhanced soundcloud sharing. Taking one star off for lack of any kind midi support. Navigating song patterns could be better too. But buy this app, overall it's awesome to just pick up and play, with a very unique and varied sound.

Unable to open app. Ever since I upgraded to IOS 8.0, I have been unable to open the App. I press the icon and the picture of syth shows for a few seconds and then disappears. I have tried deleting the App and downloading it again, but same thing happens. Can anyone help????

Flawless. I honestly can't think of anything bad to say about this. It feels like owning the real thing. I've had this for about 6 months or more now. You can get a lot of great sounds out of it. I own all of the Korg apps (except the Gorrilaz iElectribe), and I think they're worth every penny. They obviously put a lot of time and effort into making these applications great.

Best Music App Yet. This is the only app I have been able to make a useable song in. It has several sequencers in it and drums. Very easy to get something going. Great scratchpad. Plus the Polysix is a great emulation with lots of knobs. Very analog and very realistic. You must get it.

Cloud crash city.... This app *used to be* super stable. Per a prior complaint, cloud is unavailable from crashes on ios 9 :( UPDATE Still buggy, and broken cloud on IOS 10

Wish it came with more sounds.... Sure, you can design them yourself but a bigger library would be extremely helpful for those not looking to get so deep into sound design.

Almost perfect. Okay, great app my only huge complaint is I Need the ability to assign which parts I use through the midi. When using this live I need to tell it how to react to which part I assign it to not the other way around. However people don't get me wrong it is still one of the best synth apps.

Great App - Wish it had more MIDI control.. This is one of my favorite apps for making music on the road. Love that I have two Polysixes and a complete drum kit to compose with on its step sequencer. Really wish I had more options for integrating with my MIDI studio when I get home.

AUv3 please - STILL NO AUv3 😭. Sorry but I don’t use Gadget and never will. It just doesn’t work for me. But your stand-alone synths are awesome and need to be AUv3! Needs to be AUv3!

Better than ims20. I wish I had known about this before buying the korg ims20 app. This one has better sounds, is way more intuitive, and has less cumbersome polyphony. Very happy with this, but bummed I wasted so much on the other app. This and the figure app by propeller head are all you need.

My Favorite IOS Synth. The iPolySix sounds great! I’ve been playing synths since the early 80s, and this sounds like it should - analog and very musical.

Desperately needs an update!. Hands down, my favorite app to use. It's five stars for me but I'm taking one off because the SoundCloud feature hasn't worked properly in at least 3 years. C'mon Korg, please don't ignore this app. I keep hoping for a good update, let's get it fixed.

Korg rather hates their customers. Or doesnt want us actually Making music, just playing with pricey toys so long as we never create any songs. This app actually has a manual, while having several functions i never wanted from it. That gets it one star more than i'll give iMS-20, but still, in the three years i've owned these apps, I haven't created anything using them nor used them live, because they're boring, laborious, bureaucratic, cumbersome pieces of bloatware. I imagine Korg's programmers having sick laughs at all the musicians banging away at their ipads, trying to wring music out of these apps, or breaking their ipads in frustration. Thanks for nothing, Korg!

Website says they are working on IOS8 versions. If you have not updated to IOS8 and you use these apps, just wait, like I am. They mentioned on their site they are working on updating the apps to make them compatible.

Still no change. Such a nice sounding Korg ....trapped in a horrible sequencer nightmare! It should be an instrument in gadget instead!THAT would be a killer combo! I can't believe Korg STILL has not made this a synth in gadget surely that would have bee a better choice for a synth in the Module app! This really bothers a lot of my fellow gadget pals. But Korg just doesn't seem to care about our suggestions when it comes to putting the poly six or the ms 20 in that rig . Peace christo

Great but limited. I'm giving this 5 stars because the sequencer is an awesome addition to this synth, and finally Korg is understanding that users want to be able to compose, sequence and mix all within a single app. But the sequencing is limited as patterns cannot be laid onto one another, limiting the polyphony to just two simultaneous synths. Still, you can write a whole lot -- but it keeps the app from being an actual composing environment that it could have been. I'm still looking to replace Fruityloops on my PC. And this app is clearly on the right track, but stops well before it fulfills it's promise. Still, 5 stars for being the best I've seen to date.

A Faithful Recreation of a Legend. I got this app last year and I can now write with confidence, this is another home run by Korg's apps division. It amazes me that the Poly just has one oscillator, but can create sounds so lush that you'll swear you have a multi oscillator synth. I have created many sounds in it and it is very easy to tweak, which I like. Also, the way that you can automate parameters is nothing short of amazing. I have been thoroughly satisfied by the way you can create a complete song with just one app plus the ability to integrate with others via audiobus is also fantastic. I hope we keep seeing great apps from Korg's apps team.

You have a really good interface this time. You should update the ims20 and make it work like this one a bit more! Sounds dope dope ...KORG has really utilized the ipad, i love this app. Own ikaossilator, electribe, electribe gorillas, ims20, and now this app! I want the electribe sampler! If more companies would embrace the ipad like this the ipad would just be incredible to use all the time! I gave you five stars...keep making great apps

Great tool, but no midi export and no audio copy.. This app, like a few others, needs to get it together. Midi export and audio copy should be available on all pro music apps. Moving on these are some good sounds to be had here and features that, while limit, get you to learn hoe to be creative within its limited confines. And yet the sounds you can create are endless. That gives it one star and the easy of using the interface gives it another. Now lets get that midi export and audio copy features in there for the full five stars.

WOW...... Just Plain Old...WOW. This is a great app. It looks super cool and sounds fantastic through nice headphones. Easy to use and fun to play with. There are some insane sounds in there. The synth automation is so fun! You can really go deep here. The effects sound good. The KAOSS style sequencing is easy and fun. The layout is superb. Among the best music apps out there. This is so cool. There is no reason to wait on this purchase. Thanks.

Buy it!. Amazing sound for a iOS app! Korg knows how to do iOS audio without a doubt. You might as well buy the other Korg apps as they are amazing as well! No I don't work for Korg but I would be proud to do so.....

Mixed review but... I'll give this app 5 stars for it honest representation of the vintage synth with all its limitations. Otherwise, this is not necessarily a plug and play toolbox of the extreme kind. So, I suppose if I bought the actual Korg hardware synth, I would have to appreciate its retro limitations remembering that the era in which this synth was produced was still one of discovery.

Don't believe the hype!. Not as good as iKaossilator. This app contains many bugs that make you just scream. If you like old junky keyboards, this app is for you. The kaoss pads are not as good as others claim especially if you are left handed. The sequencer is an unusable time consuming mess. And what's with all the SoundCloud file sharing support. You realize that you can't use any of that commercially don't you? SoundCloud often blocks uploads claiming that they are in copyright violation. Korg, why can't you give us what we want? We want iKaossilator 2 with new sounds and the ability to mix volumes for each track. Also, while you are making the revisions add in a CLEAR button like Propellerhead Figure has. The actual sound of the keyboard is good so you get two stars for that.

Another hit from Korg. This is my most-used IOS synth. It has great warm sounds and a built- in sequencer. Wish the IM1 had a sequencer as that would be amazing. Yes, there's GAdget but the M1 there is limited. Sequencing your apps from other programs like Genome is a real pain due to all of the switching. Get this app!

Fantastic sounding, but needs modern features.. First off, this is a fantastic sounding model of the Polysix. It is very well implemented and does what it does well. The sequencer is a little cumbersome, in an old school analog way, but very functional for what it does. My only gripes are that Korg needs to add standard features for modern iOS synths. These features include: Audiobus support, background audio, and virtual MIDI. If these were added, this app would be 5 star and I could recommend it without hesitation. As it is, it's a good app if you don't mind making music in Korg's walled garden. UPDATE: THANK YOU KORG FOR LISTENING! Now with background audio and Audiobus, this is one of the BEST synths for iOS! FIVE STARS!

Another amazing app. Just like the ims20 this thing is amazing, the interface is an improvement over the ims20 (nice). I own all of the Korg apps and now I'm thinking they can't make a bad app. This is one of the best synth apps on iOS, period.

UPDATE.. 7/27 EDIT: Korg, your boilerplate "sorry for the inconvenience" response makes no sense here. I'm not complaining about a specific issue, but rather the absolute (and seemingly intentional?) obsolescence of iPolysix as a functioning app in the current iPad music landscape. It's not AU, has no IAA, has no Ableton Link, has no extended MIDI functions, and doesn't interact with Gadget. It's not even integrated into the going KORG iPad environment, let alone the whole complex ecosystem that's come about as the tablet has matured. The complaint is basically, "I paid a lot of money for this app and it stopped updating 2 years ago, despite the fact that music app standards have continued to shift and grow. Now I'm frustrated that I wasted my time writing songs in it." And my review is a warning: don't buy this if you want something that ever updates and plays nicely (or at all) with other apps. 6/18 EDIT: It’s been months and Korg hasn’t so much as glanced my way on this. As of now, iPolysix is a $30 app with no support and no future. It features some of my favorite sounds and workflow, but it’s just not keeping up with the times - or even other Korg apps! I strongly suggest looking elsewhere, if only to avoid the heartbreak I’ve had with this thing. I feel like I wasted two years making music with it. iPolysix was my first iPad music love, the groovebox/synth whose ease, versatility, and top-notch retro voices made me believe the iOS hype when stuff like Tabletop, Figure, and Rhythm still felt undernourished and full of early house-ish cheese. But over time I've been forced to abandon it, as Korg has done essentially nothing to make it vibe with current connectivity standards: no Ableton Link, no extended MIDI functions, no AU stuff, no absorption into Gadget - like I said, nothing. I have something like 50 iPS tracks that are dying to be piped into/arranged further in Gadget or beatmatched with iElectribe/Patterning/ElasticDrums/iMPC or treated track by track with AU/IAP plugins (either in iPS itself or, even better, via some multitrack output to Auria), but it's hard to shake the feeling that I've invested hours upon hours into Korg's redheaded abandonware stepchild, leaving my tracks in a perpetual demo state. Prove me wrong, Korg!

Great synth, terrible MIDI implementation. The iPolysix makes great sounds. However, good luck trying to use it with a MIDI controller. There is no way to change which CC# controls which knob on the iPolysix. It also listens to ALL incoming MIDI which can be a pain of you are trying to control it with two different devices. Other synths such as Sunrizer are MUCH better with their MIDI implementation. Even Korg's newer apps like Gadget have the ability to change CC# of the controls. Why don't they go back and fix the crap MIDI functionality of the iPolysix?

Great, but needs update. iPolySix is one of the most analog-sounding polysynth apps out there. It sounds just great and others have composed fantastic EDM songs with it. That said, Gadget is far more versatile (and newer). To give this app a second life, it would be an amazing addition to Gadget (i.e., integrated). As a standalone app, iPolySix still has great potential but needs MIDI CC functionality to work better with MIDI keyboard controllers for knob and transport control as well as responding to (and/or generating) MIDI clock. Great job, Korg, but don't stop here!

Finally!. Finally, someone at Korg realized that putting grid guidelines on the Kaosspads would be a good idea. After all the compaining from users and all the online sites selling templates and giving tutorials on making gridline overlays, Korg has finally got the message. I would imagine it was probably some janitor sweeping the floor, looking over the programmer's shoulder who said "hey, why don't you put in gridlines so people can actually see what they're doing?" Fortunately, the programmer listened and now Korg has caught up with the rest of the apps that use a similar pad interface. For this alone, I give it 5 stars.

AUv3. Pretty please make all your synth apps AUv3!!!!!

Beautiful. It is said below that this synth is limiting. This is not quite true. If you have only two synthesizers and a couple drum parts, it brings out the most creative parts of music making in you. The Polyseq is also very intuitive and easy to use, the sequencer being a monster. The Polysix synthesizer is also enormous and wonderful with dual XY Kaoss pads which can be set to just about any scale you can think of--and not think of. The drums are rather monotonous, even the ones you make yourselves, because there are limited controls for them, yet it brings out your true music spirit when you really figure out how they work.

Most Complete Package Overall.. I own Thor, Sunrizer, TC-11, Animoog, and iPolysix. All are very good products. None disappoint, but this one does the most. If there is a downside to polysix, it's the learning curve. Sculpting your own sounds won't come as easy to a newb as it might with others. But at the end of the day, if I could have only ONE synth, it would be this one. I'm getting complete jams and building complete songsin two days time. Barely scratched the surface. You might want more features (midi, etc) but you'll NEED them LESS than with other apps. So...this might not be your last synth, but I'd still make it your first. It gets four stars because nobody does it all...and they ALL could.

NO AUv3 SUPPORT. Come on Korg this is ridiculous!!!! It’s been how many years now? I deleted Gadget because this. Gadget was born on iOS yet you give the flexibility to desktop only. I never bought the desktop version because of your shady business dealings on iOS. I spent over $200 on your iOS products. To access gadgets on desktop, to put in your personal daw, is $200. Over it.

Great synth. I like the sounds and layout. It sounds just like the real thing. Easy to use if you have used any DAW or other Korg apps. I can honestly say that I love all my Kong products.

Brilliant but please fix tempo control!. Wonderful sound and features but the tempo control is truly maddening! This is 2013. Tempo control should be the easiest thing you should have to deal with. C'mon Korg. Fix this so I can use it without pulling my hair out!

Korg has done it again.. These guys know how to make top apps and they have done it again with one. I am a huge fan of the Korg apps. I find this to be considerably easier to use from the first time you start it over the iMS20. I also like the way you can share you music with others to Remix it. Nice touch. Wist is fun....Audiobus capable in the future would rock.

Anybody there?. It seems to me that KORG is charging good money for their Apps but they are not doing much work to update them. IPolysix hasn't been updated since 2015, no sync with other apps like Ableton Link or midi. Very disappointing, don't purchase KORG apps, they are not worth it. KORG should stop ripping off people. There are much better synths up there for less than half the price.

Great little synth for iPad. Korg has done a great job with this synth. The basic sounds supplied would seem to be actually musically useful sounds and of course can be modified for your own tracks. The interface is quite intuitive as well. There is also a great sound cloud facility especially devoted to the poly six so you can hear the many tracks that other guys have produced on this synth and some of those tracks are remarkably good. From using this software synth I'm hoping that Korg brings out a re-issue of the physical poly six synth as they have done with MS20. Great work Korg!!

Why didn't you tell me?!?!. I love anything that KORG bring out so I was stoked when I saw this on new and noteworthy... But you guys need a mailing list so we can hear sooner when you release something, it's important... Just wondering if you are going to add the zooming feature a la iMS-20? I am visually challenged so I loves me dials big. This feature packed app is a must have for any synthophile, get it now!

Fantastic. Easy to use, lots of freedom to manipulate sounds. Really enjoying it.

Close but no cigar. Love the app, easy to use but very very light on the presets, you're essentially paying for the name 'korg', I have come to expect more from 'high end' and rather expensive synth apps, fifteen dollars would have been a better price for such a basic package instead of $46, slightly peeved over this one, maybe next time the app won't pester me to rate it after raping my wallet, unless you're a hardcore synth nut and must have a polysix go buy arturia imini instead.

Fantastic. Amazing quality just like the real thing, Cheers KORG

Niceeee. I've done a good apps shopping today bought me a real nice synth apps.....animoog , alchemy synth and this one. I dont regret any purchase i've made today. I really like this app ! No joke ! I love it ! Sounds so good and the interface is smooooth. I will even buy it if its $31. Yes..Its worth it ! Thanks guys ! I cant stop playing it...

Great app but please add AUv3 support.. This is a great app. Still really enjoy it and sounds great. But please add Audio units v 3 support. It will be infinetely more useful with that feature added. Thank you.

amazing. Simple interface but very powerful synth! Must have

UNBEATABLE. This is incredible! Everything about this is a home run! Please port over more of your vintage synths! THANKS!

Amazingish. *update, midi controller m audio keystation 32, only works with synth 1. I don't wanna use touch screen, please fix. I can't even copy patterns from seq 1 to seq 2. If I'm on synth 1, that's what's hear and control. If I switch to synth 2 I still hear and control synth 1. As far as I can see it shows nothing about midi support so you can just tell me where to go, but I'm then keeping the star I took from rating. ;o) Whoa he's got a hostage Man, I'm gonna sound as good as VNV Nation or Covenant. Sounds so good. I am like the other guy, bought ims-20 yesterday...was enjoying so checked this out. I didn't realize the difference until he pointed it out. This is a little more tricky to find everything, but you basically have step sequencer which rules, kaoss pads, recorded midi input....effects are rad, sound is rad, I bought it on sale but even if I had to pay $20 I would. Just got a new m audio midi controller compatible with iPad if you use apple camera connector. Don't delay buy this. I got out of the hardware game a couple of years ago cause unless you play live, hardware is kind of dead. Long live soft synths, long live Korg! Peace

Bringing back great memories. I had one of these in my youth and have missed it often. But wow, this app does it justice. Incredibly good sounding. The extra features (two instances, more effects, a sequencer, drums) are icing. My favourite soft synth purchase. All I need now are faux wood side panels for my iPad.

Great app, but..... Needs some support for iOS 8!

Memories. I paid $2000 for a Polysix, my first analog synth, 30 years ago. This digital emulation is more powerful and arguably better sounding. Have we come a long way! I hope that Korg does the same for their 17 year old treasured Prophecy, which sits in my studio beside their current masterpiece, the Kronos, which also includes a Polysix engine among it's nine synth engines. These guys are good!

Need more midi support. While this is a high quality iOS synth, and it has basic midi note/bender/mod wheel support, it would benefit from more. As far as I can tell there is no midi cc control possible for parameters, and no way to assign midi channels 1-16 to synth1 and synth2 simultaneously. Also, there is no program change or stop/start playback of sequences. For those of us who hook up iPads to external midi keyboards and external sequencers, improved midi support would be very useful. I'll switch to 5 stars if later versions make midi improvements.

Such a great app. Such a great app for those interested in purchasing a synthesizer, but want to learn how to use a Korg before they invest in one.

Hoovers for Days. Double barrelled rave action complete w drums.

iOS 8 issue. Just like many others, KORG iElectibe. IPolysix, iMS 20 they all crash at launch pleas update

Cool but no KORG Gadget integration. Boooooooo. Awesome sounds but why does it not work in Gadget? ALL KORG apps should be able to work in that environment... Come on guys! Make it happen 😉

Superb app. Very musical, userfriendly, well thought out. I would gladly give a sixth star if I could.

Great sound and feature. It just need to be korg gadget compatible.....

Confirmed - still crashing on iOS8. Pretty sad, Korg.

Very cool. I use this with my midi keyboard though so the onscreen keyboard gets in the way. Would love to be able to double tap like in iMS20 and gadget to full screen the controls and hide the keyboard. 5th star coming if that happens.

Incredible. How can anyone not give this amazing thing 5 stars? It has such great sound and so much control and everything you could want in a synth. And people look for something that it doesn’t do so they can remove stars. Those people would have to give zero stars to every other app because they do nothing compared to this one. Its like saying a Ferrari is not such a great car because it doesn’t have a toilet. Anyway, if you like synths that are powerful and will give you continuous enjoyment with its endless feature set, then get this wonderful thing. It is much more than you can imagine. When you open it and start poking around and tapping notes, your jaw will drop and you will be so excited thinking of all the cool sounds and sequences you will be able to create. Its not possible for a musician who is into electronic music to not love this beauty. Have fun.

Awesome retro synth. I've never played an actual Polysix to compare with but this is a killer retro eighties synth. Tons of bonus features too! The step sequencers and Kaoss pads add a lot of value.

Great synth studio. But you need to allow an easier method for inputting specific tempos - ok figure out the flick method. Not intuitive but works fine once you're aware.

Working again in iOS 8. A bit late to the party, but it's good to have this working again.

Don’t buy this app. MIDI implementation sucks.. I own every Korg app and tons of their kit. Love their stuff. Some of their apps need some basic functionality added. This ones midi implementation means I will rarely use it. It cannot be leveraged to make music easily. There are better apps. Save your money.

Pure gold. Juicy tones, super user friendly, nice features!

Polysix. Small but strong vintage synth with all the possibilities of the real version!

Amazing classic synth!. I can't wait for the iMonoPoly, iM1, and iWavestation!

Yep it's a PolySix. Not much else to say. Resource hungry, cool VA

Nothing is opening except gadget. Why is this not working with 8 on my iPad Air?

IOS 8 Crash. Please fix, all your apps are crashing on my iPad mini since I've updated to IOS 8. Again need for a gig..

The Best Synth App!!. I love this synth music app!

Want a Korg Polysix? Here it is!. Another fantastic Korg app! If I didn’t know any better, I’d have sworn this was a gol danged Polysix! Very happy with it and sounds FABULOUS!

Inter App Audio please !!!!!,. Please let us have InterAp audio for all of the Korg products please thank you

THANK YOU KORG...YOU LISTENED TO US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Background audio+Audiobus=Christmas 2012 getting better and better! Korg DOES listen, Korg does care!

Great but could be perfect. Over all it's amazing and Korg should be awarded a Nobel prize for this work...! Buy this... now! But I am a highly critical reviewer and there are a few things to suggest. Three things hold me back from giving 5 stars which it otherwise deserves: (1) You can't copy and paste individual drum sequences between patterns. You can only copy steps 1-16 and paste to, say, 17-32 in the same pattern. I want to be able to copy one drum sequence, like bass drum, and paste it into a different drum, like snare, in the same pattern, or in a different pattern even, while preserving the other drum sequences and synth sequences in the destination pattern. (2) No undo...! This is a huge problem! This thing should have four or five levels of undo. iOS provides built-in support in CoreData for undo functionality. Maybe you're not using CoreData, even if not, you should make your own undo feature. Please :-D (3) No stepless sequencer. Especially for keyboard tracks, it would be nice to have a high-resolution MIDI capture that does not perceptibly quantize the captured data. As it stands, you have to use a 64-step length to really get a decent resolution for capturing a keyboard performance, and 64 steps makes all sequence editing a pain because now you have 4 screens of steps to tab through. It would also be nice to have the ability to see all 64 steps of a sequence on one page. Given iPad's retina display, I feel like there should be this ability. Let me isolate one drum and see all 64 steps in one screen. As well for the drum and keyboard sequence editors, there needs to be a vertical zoom capability. Currently you can see one octave at a time only, and scrolling vertically via swipe is not smooth but very kludgy. At least put page up/page down keys. But better yet you should fit all octaves in one view by using either a standard music notation (notes, clefs, etc.) or by having a line-type sequence view like all standard sequencer software has. I understand this is a "retro-feeling" app, and that's fine for the knobs and such on the keyboard itself, but trying to make the sequencer work like a 1980s sequencer is just annoying because scrolling the view around is kludgy. Better to use a more modern interface for that. True, I am nitpicking, but these are things that would make this app so much nicer to use. And it sounds so good I want the rest of it to be perfect.

Korg apps just sound stupid-good. I tried to not like Korg anymore after the long wait for iOS8 compatibility, but I just can't get enough of these awesome sounding synths and the amazing depth of musical tools in each one. Dang'd expensive, though.

Will not open in iOS 8. Please fix this problem ASAP the app will not open in iOS 8 and I need my polysix! Thanks

No undo button?. Come on Korg no undo button, and we also cannot copy synth steps to the other synth2 only copy to 17-64 on synth1. Please address this Korg in next update.

MISSING GLOBAL TUNE FUNCTION. NOT EVERYONE PERFORMS AT "A" 440 , EVERY SYNTH IVE EVER OWNED HAS A GLOBAL FUNCTIONS AREA , WITH TUNING BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT

Sounds Nice.. Why not load it with all the stuff you know we want that you have included with the other Korg apps? Worth 15 dollars

Broken, unusable in iOS 8. Nice sounding synth - I wish I could recommend it but it is unusable because of stuck notes and no panic/midi off button. Really, Korg?

NO MIDI CHANNEL SELECTION. Cool app with some amazing sounds and function...but no midi channel selection. Seriously Korg? That's mind boggling.

Crashes with iOS8. It won't open anymore. Please fix. This was a 5 star app.

Poly six has not been updated for iOS 8 and does not run. This app worked fine under iOS 7 but after iPad upgrade to iOS 8 it won't start. Has Korg abandoned it?

Buy it!. Amazing sound for a iOS app! Korg knows how to do iOS audio without a doubt. You might as well buy the other Korg apps as they are amazing as well! No I don't work for Korg but I would be proud to do so.....

Great. My favorite synth for iOS

Come on Korg.... Update: Thanks for making it HAPPEN! None of my Korg synths are working since the iOS 8 update...Moog,Cubase & others have updated...Korg, make it happen!

Fantastic!. This app is extremely well done. Now, please..... WAVESTATION WAVESTATION WAVESTATION WAVESTATION WAVESTATION WAVESTATION WAVESTATION! C'mon Korg, you know there is a whole mob of us patiently waiting for this one!

Needs audiobus. This app is great but needs audiobus to be complete.

Sounds ok, but useless. No basic MIDI function, like clock sync. No synth detune. Could have been an amazing synth, but Korg really dropped the ball.

Amazing! Cheaper and more capable than the original!. Korg has done it again!!! This app sounds absolutely amazing! I can't wait for the iMonopoly!!! Cheers korg!

Cool Instrument. Sounds Great. Wish there were factory presets. Nice effects. Wish there was the zoom edit page like on the iMS-20.

Addictive and powerful. 80's vibe brought into this century with a fun sequencer, amazing sounds and a cool online community to boot. My favorite of the Korg apps.

No function in os8. Agreed w many of these posts, app doesn't work in os8... Actually it wasn't working in end of 7 either, hence my attempt to get it running by upgrading to 8... hELP!!!!

No iOS 8 Support! Crashes on launch.. The title of this says it all. One of my favorite Korg synths doesn't support the latest OS update. :(

Where is the virtual MIDI?. Although, I like the iPad versions that this manufacturer is releasing, I don't understand why there isn't a virtual MIDI option for these apps. I use SoundPrism Pro and ThumbJam as my main controller for synthesizers, due to the fact that my fingers are paralyzed and I'm not able to use a traditional keyboard interface. Virtual MIDI would seem like a no-brainer to me. Moog does it, why not Korg?

Latency not great with MIDI, sequencer rhythm resolution low. Otherwise an excellent package, easily worth $15 on sale.

Horrible. This is a synth from the 80's. If you are looking to produce low quality, very simple and cheesy synth projects then look no further. I feel extremely ripped off for having purchased this app. Look elsewhere.

Don't buy. It's been >1 year since update. Crashes within a second or two on iOS 8. Please, Korg, you can't charge for this app and not keep up with development, otherwise it's not even a toy, let alone any professional use. iOS 8 is not a surprise release. Didn't you test with developer releases?

Now Working On iOS 8. Thank you KORG !!!!! ☺️❤️

AWESOME!!!. I have only just started using this app but in the first five minutes I was blown away!!! KORG has raised the bar once more for iOS musical apps. I paid half price but its worth much more than full. Great job and keep them coming!!

Tempo control is bad. This app is great and sounds great, but the tempo is impossible to dial In. It has a decimal point like 88.8 or 102.5, so there is a virtual dial you turn and its impossible to get 88.0 witch causes the beat to slip out of time in apps like garageband please fix this guys,

Incorrect scale modes. The scales for the Kaoss Pads are sweet and all but they don't completely match the labeled mode. They were all correct at first but a few uses later they were mismatched. The keys signatures were on the wrong pitch as well. Pease fix this issue. Otherwise this is freakin awesome 5 stars.

Korg is awesome!!!. Pro quality synth.

Pre. Great app,but are u going to add more instrument to this app?

Amazing!. It's like Korg read my mind. Best music app on the App Store. Thank you sooo much Korg. You have made me a Korg fan for life.

Tempo control stink!. All Korg apps are not created equal. ikaossilator hands down the best tempo controls . ims20 is the worst and for some reason this app has adopted these crummy controls. It's stinks so bad dialing a tempo I just end up giving. They have ruined a great 5 star app with a 1star interface. For the love of Zeus please fix this. I will change my review and give 5 stars.

Can't open in ios8. I know all the KORG apps are suffering from the iOS update, this is the app that I've been missing the most since I updated. Please fix this otherwise 5-star app.

Laggy. Still works but somehow really laggy on Ipad 3 ios 8.1.3. Wasn't laggy before ios 8, in fact it was super smooth. I hope they fix this.

Korg rules!. Korg is right on top of there apps, I have all the korg apps and they all will knock your socks of Thank you for the audiobus update!

NEEDS iOS 8 Support. Then I would give this app 5 stars

Needs iOS 8 compatibility update. App crashes as soon as I open it. I'll change my review once the app is fixed.
