Waste of time. The app keeps crashing I can’t even complete my user information. Whenever I hit next the app shuts down. Whenever I search for a community the app shuts down.

Still waiting. Still waiting for the confirmation email...👍🏻

Can’t unsubscribe!. The app won’t allow me to unsubscribe. So I’m trapped getting daily alerts at 12am even though I’m 6000 miles away from the area of concern. There is no way to email to get help or opt out.

Useless!. I can’t even register to use this app on my iPhone. The app puts its own keyboard up in a way that covers up the link to click; once I enter my info to register there’s no way to get out of that screen except back out, which erases all the info I just entered! Dead end! No use!

Wish I never downloaded this. Tried to set up an account, it said my email was already in the system, but offered no way to reset password. So I set up an account under another email account, got in, but then it doesn’t find any of the institutions I want alerts for. Their search function seems to be useless. Now I’ll try to close the account. Good luck to me.

Useless. I couldn’t even find my academic institution.

Can’t even login. Every time I login it says connection lost. I gave up

Ugh!. I NEVER write reviews but this app is so useless and frustrating that I had to comment. Signing up was easy enough as was finding my town, but then it all went south. I can’t select any emergency notifications and when I try to do it on my laptop it doesn’t accept my password. sticking with it I try to reset my password only to be asked security questions I’ve never set up. An hour of my life I’ll never get back and am still not on any notification list

Crashes. Ios 16.5 everytime I search it crashes?

This app is horrible. You can’t reset your password... The last time I was in it didn’t load the information and it’s hard to navigate through.

App & Online problems. The app won’t let me log on anymore, it keeps saying my password is wrong. When I go on their website & hit “Forgot password” it gives me a security question to answer & that question is not one I picked out, I would never pick it out. Then the one I do recognize “Name of first pet?” When I put the answer in it tells me I am wrong. It only gives those two questions so I have no way into my account.

DOA. Crashed as soon as I search for an institution

Not obvious interface. Just signed up, no alerts yet, but signing up was a lesson in patience and guesswork. I never figured that part would be so frustrating. But I'm in, and after more misses, finally figured out how to sign up for an alert. whew. exhausting...

Great App for Bb Connect Portal Access. This makes life much easier for me. Consolidated text, email and phone subscriptions make this a must for me. the Tour at the beginning of the App makes it easy to learn ( not that it is complicated).

Love this app, but it suddenly stopped working. Love this app but it’s suddenly stopped working and I can’t get help. Please help me try to login and it says logging in and that’s it.

Not user friendly. Navigation stinks and it’s just not user friendly. Make edits and changes to subscriptions (schools) is a pain.

Poor quality. Terrible UI.. Our county started using this service but it's app is completely useless. I can't believe our county's emergency managers chose such a poor app to communicate with the community. I sure hope our county doesn't pay for this garbage service.

Worthless. Don't waste your time installing the app. It's more trouble than it's worth. You don't even have the ability to select an institution (for the city you live in). There is no point at all for this. You're better off following up on breaking news events off Twitter.

One app for all my Connect notifications - Yes!. MyConnect puts me in control of all my notifications - from my kid's school and the city. Nice! Push notifications is a positive addition too.

Can’t set it up. I registered but when I am trying to set up my institution it asks for “reference number and contact info on file”. What does that mean? I tried every number and contact info that I could think of that might be “on file”. Nothing worked, so I can’t set up to get alerts from my college.

Login screen. Might be a good app. No way of knowing since its impossible to hit the log in button with the keyboard in the way. Don't you people even try the app on your own phone to see if it works before launching it?

Crash issues. App keeps crashing every time I add an update — whether I add my info (address, email, etc) or add an institution. So, I can’t seem to add my address. I was able to follow my city government and got a text that I was signed up for alerts. Here’s hoping this app was just a vehicle for signing up and I’ll be able to get text alerts without needing this app again.

Poor site. First I couldn't find my school under the institutions. Had to type in Matanuska-Susitna just find anything. After all was said and done, the only thing listed was my contact information. No calendars, attendance or curriculum...would be nice to have access to this information. As usual anything the MatSu SD tries to do online is inadequate and not user friendly. It's a shame considering the content is regarding our children. And the lack of information given to parents from the teachers who are teaching our children...concerning really.

OC is in trouble. This app does not work!!! If Orange County Ca is going to use this app to notify people of an emergency, a lot of people will not get the notification this app is supposed to provide and many lives could be lost! The County needs to find another app that does what it's supposed to do!!

What a third rate App. Fails you from the first interaction. Who is the product owner for this junk. The village would be better off using more of the Facebook app for more edge cases and sign up for an SMS provider for emergency communications

Why did I bother???. This app is a total FAIL!!! Despite all the other bad reviews I downloaded it to be part of AlertOC community emergency notification system. They were going to use this app to notify users with emergency information - test day came & went. I received no notices from the city even though I subscribed to them. Additionally I set the app to remember my login and it did for about 3x. My login info disappeared and stupid me didn't write down my password....and there is no clear way to recover or reset my password. So, I'm locked out of an app that is intended to help out in an emergency and that failed to provide any communication during the city's systems test run. "FREE" is still too expensive

DO NOT Register. I never received log on verification in my email after several requests. So app is useless and now they have my email address. For what purpose???

Primative. The app has a very simple UI that forces the user down a small number of paths to get things done. NOT suggested for mobile use because it actively checks its internet connection and logs you out when it decides it can't get online even for an instant. It does have auto-re-login (a feature that should not be necessary with proper connection timeout defaults) but upon re-establishing connection, whatever data you may have been entering is lost. The user must use their email address to log in, so they have that contact point. The user may also add SMS, phone and TTY contact points. This last is presumably why Blackboard are awarded government contracts. Push notifications are treated differently than SMS, voice or TTY notifications, which is confusing. Emergency alerts are hard-wired to alert all your contact methods and cannot be changed. Although some thought clearly has gone into this app and the infrastructure that supports it, it is clear that they have a way to go before customer satisfaction can be achieved. Disclosure: These are initial impressions given the moment after I signed up. I only have a relationship with one of the supported organizations.

No thanks. Deleted within five minutes of downloading. Not intuitive as other reviewers have stated. I do not have time to sit here and try to figure out how to use this app, it should be straightforward! After all, so many other apps are.

Absolute junk. Completely useless. Don’t waist your time..

Waste of time and probably a SCAM. I signed up for this app at the behest of my daughter’s school for all of their notifications. Since then, my password isn’t working and there’s no “forgot password” or customer service link. Nothing. I’ve tried every password I can think of. I’ve tried deleting and reloading the app. I’ve tried setting up a new account, which it blocks, saying I already have one. I’ve tried emailing Blackboard with no response. This is truly a terrible app and a total waste of valuable time. Extremely frustrating and useless in the most basic terms.

Apple - Get this app out of here. If I could give this zero stars I would. Get this crap out of this Store!

Not worth the effort!. This app logs out and shuts down randomly, can't find anything in my area and is a huge pain in the rear to set up. Totally not worth the time and effort. Removing it from my phone today!

Worst app. Difficult to navigate then it still does not set up for proper notifications.

Zero stars. This app is a joke right?. I feel like I’m being punked and my email just got sold to a million 3rd parties.

Waste of time. I rarely leave reviews for apps but felt compelled to do so for this one. Totally useless and not worth the trouble it takes to sign up. Just go to your local news or school website, much easier!

The worst app. Can’t find my sin’s school despite following the directions several times.

Terrible; useless. Useless app; I’ve never before written a critical review but this app is really bad. 1) the app has no password recovery, so I had to create a new login using a different email. 2) things just don’t seem to work in the app; for instance, when I enter my address the app ALWAYS crashes and closes. No error message, just closes. But the address is required. 3) app doesn’t provide a way to delete former addresses.

No stars. I only put one star because I was forced.. This app is not helpful at all. Just go on your schools website, it would be a much better use of your resources.

Terrible app. Worked fine for a couple of days now can’t access anything. I wish people would quit making worthless apps and wasting my time.

Poor Navigation and more. First - navigation stinks. Try to search. Once you enter the Search feature, the only way out is to kill the app. More annoying, the requirement to have your iPhones Location Services on to use the app. I have an older phone and Location Services is a drag on the battery life. If I have subscribed, what does Location Services have to do with getting school generated alerts? Where I am, or the app knowing where I am at that moment, should NEVER keep me from getting an alert. I will stick to web portal through my child’s school system website. Highly disappointed user.

Not Useful at all. How can you have an app without a way to reset your password when forgotten? Why have the app?

Not feeling the love. Great concept. Got invited to join by my community. Spent far too long trying to get signed in. Kept crashing. Went through the tutorial but it still didn’t help. Needs a major reboot.

Soooo good but remember me needs to work. Like I said. It's a great app. The push notification showed up before I get the text or call. I do wish the "remember me" feature actually worked. My email is a pain keep typing.

Rediculous don't bother!. I live in a big city, Santa Clara,bordered on even a bigger city, San Jose in Silicon Valley, CA. No local universities or high schools were on the list. I even tried City of Santa Clara for a community attachment and nothing there Deleting this app now

This makes it easy to see everything. I can subscribe to messages and see the past messages sent to me! Super helpful!

Zero Zero. So disappointing. Our school used My Connect. This app can't even locate our school. Tried to contact developer. Useless. Deleted it.

Awful App. This app does not allow you to set up notifications. It just leaves you hanging.

Never got my authentication code!. Had hoped to get past the sign up and login but can't even get that far!

Can’t Even Activate!. Update: This app is still a waste!!! Email with authentication code finally received after 5 days. Now that activation is completed, I can’t even find one institution in my state! Do not waste your time with this. I’ve been trying to complete activation of my account for several days now but still haven’t received the activation email. I verified that my email address used is correct, checked my junk folder, requested to resubmit the activation email and yet nothing! What a waste!

Understanding the App. This App was developed with a lot of different people in mind. From Senior Citizens who want notifications of Emergencies in their area to parents who would like to be notified of upcoming school events to college students and staff that need to be notified of situations on campus. The nice thing about the App, and the MyConnect Portal, is the registrant can set up their subscription notification to their preference. If they'd like to get Outreach messages sent to their personal e-mail, it's easy to set up. It's not a "super-techy" App with a lot of bells and whistles. And it is not meant to be. You have to look at the millions of people with different technology skills when building an App like this. It was developed to be easy to sign up, easy to follow and use. If you can't find your Community/School/University, then they may not have activated the App, are not using the MyConnect Portal, or don't have Blackboard Connect. The "Search" function could be enchanced, but if you use the "%keyword" formula (i.e. - "%Academy), you will most likely find what you need. There are 8 Academies using the App. I know....that is a little high level techy, but I'm trying to help. As to the "location services" part of the App. This is dependent on several things: 1) Location Services on your device being activated (agreed when activating the app, or you can go to Settings) 2) Being registered in the portal of the client that is sending the message (we don't want to bother you with someone else's messages) 3) The message sender activating the geo-devices in the user interface when sending the mesage. This is managed through Blackboard Connect's Mapping Function. As you can tell, I have first-hand knowledge of this App and product, but am not officially speaking for the company. I know that the people I work with have the best interests of the Recipients when it comes to Emergency notifications.
