My go-to game. I love this game. I have the pro version - well worth the cost. I enjoy playing against other people, and have regular match-ups with several people as well as new games with random players, but what makes the pro version great is the unlimited matches with the chumbots (playing against the computer). It’s great for sharpening your skills or just killing some time. There are several skill levels to choose from. Seriously, this is my favorite game. Highly recommended.

Fun game, and more. I have been playing Word Chums for quite a while. I actually even spend the money and bought the pro version to get rid of the ads. I enjoy it so much! I like how the letters turn green when it is a word. You can play with Random people or friends you know. I have some random people I have been playing now for over a year and have chatted a little with them. Usually just find out what state they're from and wish them merry Christmas, stuff like that. The game is a lot of fun and I have my sister playing me on a regular basis. That's really nice because I don't get to see her very often. It is a way we can keep in touch and do something together. It doesn't take that long to play and it makes you think. Good quick diversion from life's stress. It's a great game!

Awesome Game. I love almost everything about this game. I wish I could play unlimited games. I’d love to be able to add more friends. Also, when we level up, I think we should be awarded more points. The points for leveling up seem low to me. I think it would be fun to have a bonus word of some kind with a nice reward. At first, I wasn’t fond of the shorter game but now I think I may like it best. Is there a reward for finishing that game format if you complete the game within a certain time frame? It is a fun bonus to be able to change the Chums outfit whenever I want. This is hands down my favorite word game!

Points. Bring back the “extra points” advertising. Don’t like the surveys because they don’t always give you the points promised! Also some of the videos don’t give enough points. Need more opportunities to get extra points. The game itself is great fun. I do a lot of surveys. Lately they give no points if you don’t finish the survey. A lot of the time the survey freezes and you can go no further. They used to give partial reward for time spent. Now I can spend twenty minutes, the survey looks up and I get NO points. I won’t do any more surveys. Waste of time .CAN I GET A RESPONSE PLEASE?????

Better than any other Scrabble-type game!. This game has features that make it fun, such as lighting up when a word is made, which requires no extra taps or submitting to know if attempts are actually words. I play mainly family members, a friend, and a former student of mine, and all are brilliant word aficionados. We make an agreement not to cheat or use hints, but we may earn coins toward bombs. It's a great way to keep in touch with family who live in other countries and right down the road. Chat feature is handy. The goofy costumes can be ignored or used as score boosters or just for fun as one's mood dictates. The more you play high scorers, the better your strategy becomes. Great game!

Word Chums Rules. Word Chums is 1000 times better than Words With Friends. The ads on WWF are annoying and endless. They have a ton of features that are useless and are always slowing down play. They have pop-ups that just open, and interfere with your game. Bottom line, stay away from WWF and get Word Chums, much more fun to play, with your own personal Chum Bot, and no ridiculous extras that distract from having fun. I’m trying to get my friends to switch over to the Chum side, you will be happy that you did. Forget WWF, and upgrade to a better playing experience on Word Chums.

Chums is Fun. Chums is a Great game! It is so entertaining with the characters, clothing, and bright colors. It is also very good for your mind. You have to use the letters you are given each turn to make words that fit onto the board. In addition to making words it is a challenge to find the best placement on the board to make the most points. I am always trying to take advantage of the W2, W3, L2, L3, and L4 spaces to make more points. It’s a great way to stay in touch with friends because there is also a “chat” feature that you can send messages to the person you are playing.

Best scrabble game going!. Played the others but none have the benefits of bombs, hints and points showing immediately if its an accepted word! Love it! And so do my friends! Great game but sometimes it won't accept a word like jomon which displays as a word in the Word Chums anagrams. Also, why does it accept some foreign words and not others? And even though I have downloaded many games, it will only give me one video a day to watch and earn 20 points!

Word Chums Rocks. I do not normally play games on the computer/tablet, but this game is SO much fun. I love the outfits you can dress your Chum in and I love the chat feature too. This works for me as you can play when you have time. I am hooked. I play every spare minute. It is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night. I also have increased my vocabulary as you can look up the meaning of any words you do not know. The support for the game is awesome and any questions I have asked are answered right away. I have turned on all my friends to this game and they love it.

Word Chums. The game is very cute. You can pick and change characters and how they look. You can use points for hints, success of word. You can chat. But the chats don’t stay too long. The characters act happy or sad depending on word points you get. There’s a cute little house where characters go in and come out with new outfits. I find the board too busy. Not much room to move letters. I think that should be on the menu, not on the board. I like the points showing. But I think there a couple other icons that don’t need to be on the board.

Recent changes are extremely annoying. I have enjoyed this game for 3 years, but the latest update includes many changes that have not enhanced the play, but instead have created distractions. Most notably a new banner that flashes across the middle of the game telling you whose turn it is. First, it was previously already clear whose turn it is, so this was completely unnecessary. Second, it blocks the view of the playing board. Third, it cannot be turned off in the settings. I even contacted support and they verified this new “feature” cannot be turned off. I find it highly annoying and distracting and will not continue to play unless it’s removed or can be turned off. This game used to be relaxing; now it’s annoying...so why play it? Please fix it, Word Chums.

Love it! Could use some tweaks.... I do wish I could gift coins and an actual chum to a friend and not just hats, holds, and hints/bombs! It would also be cool if I could select my own combo of a hat/hold to gift! I wish earning coins was easier and less of a hassle. I’m in the upper level with all of the achievements unlocked and now earning coins is very slow- it’s not as fun. Earning coins through the “free coins” button is a major nightmare and spam/email/privacy problem. It used to be simpler, less of a commitment and yielded more coins! I love this game and getting new chums, hats and holds almost every month and I’m a bomb/hint addict! 😆

Great competitive game!. I’ve played this game over ten years and absolutely love it! Being a scrabble type game and playing against other players has made for a winning combination. I’ve made friends on this game that I have played with for years. The chat option is nice to have when funny things happen. The chums are fun, too. Earning points and buying different chums with different outfits is also a great feature. I was very happy to start playing when someone recommended this to me. Hope you try it, I know you will enjoy it!

I’m addicted. My brother got me started with Word Chums several months ago and there isn’t a day gone by where I haven’t picked it up. I have played other word but ended up purging them from my iPad. They just can’t compare to the well-thought-outfullness of this one. When coins go on sale here, they are very reasonable, unlike other games and last a while. Hints are presented way better also. The only other feature I would like to see is, that instead of wholesale bombing of unwanted letters, please give us the option of retaining those we want. Otherwise, this game is very user-friendly and close to perfection. Buy the paid version and you’ll never be bothered again by ads. Very much worth the price all the way around.

Something’s changed. I have been playing this game a long time, and still love it, but something has changed in the last few months. They have definitely made it harder to make longer words, and therefore earn coins to buy hints, etc.. I don’t know if they added more letters, but when I play I either get practically all vowels, or all consonants, not a good mix of both, so I have to assume my opponent is getting the opposite of what I get. Games are definitely taking longer. I believe they are trying to get you to spend your own money on things, which I refuse to do. That is why I can only give it 3 stars.

Word chums. I love those little cartoon fellas and all their different expressions. I have just begun playing word chums and already I am addicted. Super enjoyable! Addicting! Brain exercise! Get to play internationally! Word Chums is my buddy. Keeps me company anytime. The new quick game is most enjoyable. I can play so many in an hour! In between painting, reading a book, cooking, marketing, cleaning, socializing, I turn in to Word Chum to switch in a new mood. A mental rest. Anti dementia! Word Chums is my constant buddy! I can play Word Chums for hours! I love love love this game! Greatest game ever! I cannot survive the lockdown without my Word Chums! I love changing my costumes! Word Chums is the best Scrabble game! I love this game! With practice, I observe myself improving! Great game! Awesome way to sharpen the brain! Awesome game! This game keeps my old brain active and alert. I love dressing me up according to seasons. Excellent game!! I learn in this game! Word Chums. This is the best word game ever. I was hooked on scrabble but since I downloaded this one OMG it beats scrabble. It is awesome for the brain makes you smarter the more you play with it. Love the dictionary when you click on a word. Love the coins you collect to purchase items. I am so hooked I play it every single day. Love that I can play it with my Sister who is also hooked on it. I beat her most of the times lol. I play with my Son once in a while and my Grandson. I got them all into this game it is really an awesome game thank you developers for making this game the # 1 in my opinion. It is so much fun and challenging and I love games that I can challenge. I recommend this to all who love word games.

Great fun!. Keeps your brain working,and it is great to be able to chat with players while you are playing a game. Would like to be able to earn coins faster, so I could buy more gear. It would also be nice to purchase Chumbots at a lower price and to be able to change their colors. I cant afford to buy even half of the gear I would like to have. Maybe have a trade in period once in a while. I enjoy having made new friends through this game. More coins please!!

Word Chums. Word Chums is the best Scrabble type game on the web that I’ve found. It identifies possible words, and has bombs and hints to help your find and make words with fantastic scores. If your friends are busy, it also has bots that you can play while you wait. You can watch adds to earn coins and use those coins for bombs, hints or costume for your animal chum that you’ve chosen. If you like Scrabble and can deal with having more help as you figure out words, Word Chums could be your new favorite game!

Word Chums. Absolutely Love this cute little game!! Wish there were other ways to get more coins to get my gear or costumes or have enough to give to others, but still LOVE playing and laughing along with the cute little characters!! Possibly even be able to make longer words and have more letters to choose from! How about being able to use names! Love laughing with and keeping in touch with people through this cute little game!!

Best word game yet!. I so enjoy playing this game with friends --- and the little Word Chumbs! They are competitive and I've learned a lot from playing against them! This game beats words with friends --- you can dress your Chumbs -- with credits you win from playing friends. It's addicting! We went more choices in outfits to choose from! If you’ve played long enough there’s nothing left to purchase! Which is half the fun! We like to shop with the coins we earn!! Get creative !

A cute and fun word game!. Love the ability to see if word is legal to play before hitting play! Very fun!! The longer I have played the more I prefer word chums to wwf. Now I even have my husband playing and he agrees this is more fun!! It would be nice to get coins easier, I don't mind paying for stuff sometimes just not to frequently. Not sure what the person means saying this paid version has ads. I have never seen an ad and I have been playing since 2014! Still fun!! Love the new quick game too.

Word Chums. My review would sound just like the one I just read. I love to play it. Most of the people I play we are fairly equal. We each win. I have two or three that I continue to play but have yet to win against but I love to keep going with them for the challenge and to learn new words n to get more players. My daughter also got me hooked and she doesn’t even play now cause she’s too busy with work n kids n activities. Me, I’d like to get more players . Love this game.

Best word game out there!. Word Chums is great. It's like WWF on steroids. Some of it's best features: it tells you when you've created a useable word. You can bomb all of your tiles without losing a turn. You can get a hint for "good" word placement (but not necessarily the best). And it tells you when you made the best word possible. While it sounds like it's much easier- remember your opponents all have the same advantages and the letter draws are still random. This game is a blast, looks great, and will help build vocabulary. Just excellent.

Word Chums Game Crashes. I love Word Chums but for the past month or two I have been experiencing issues with the game randomly closing. Frequently when I am in the game moving tiles around to try to find words, the game freezes then instantly closes. When that happens it goes back to the home screen. I also lose the history of “best word” options I have found that you are supposed to see when you click on the hint button. Sometimes it happens several times in the course of one turn. This is so frustrating. I have reported it to Word Chums two or three times now and received generic replies. Nothing has been fixed. My playing partner is experiencing the same problem and I have read reports of this happening to other players. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, rebooted my iPad, etc. to no avail. Please fix this glitch!

Awesome game. Assistive game features: 1) tiles you lay turn green when they actually make a playable word; 2) the game shows you how much what your attempting to play will be worth before you actually submit it, so you can compare to other plays you might make to get the best score; 3) a really cool 'stars' feature shows you (1 or 2 stars out of 3, for example) how the word you're laying compares to what you could get with your current tiles; 4) there is a hint feature; 5) there are 'bombs' to swap all your tiles... Just a fantastic game. I've been playing for a couple years now. You can play with bots, your friends or other randomly selected Word Chums players. Would highly recommend!

NOT REALLY FIVE STAR. THIS EXCEPTIONALLY FUN, INTERESTING AND COMPLETELY ADDICTIVE GAME IS REALLY A 10 STAR GAME !!!! Of all the computer games WORD CHUMS is the most fun and by far the most interesting. I tell my friends it is scrabble with a BIG TWIST and when they downloaded the free app and started to play, they immediately become addicted, as I am. I find myself even taking my iPad in the bathroom in the middle of the night to play!!!!! NOW THAT IS ADDICTED!!!!! I have played Scrabble and Words With Friends and they were fun but WORD CHUMS is by far not only superior to them but also THE BEST GAME ON THE COMPUTER. When you get set up, you MUST take a few minutes to read the rules because if you just start playing, thinking it is just scrabble, you are missing out how to really play the game and you are loosing out on points that you could really be getting. Give his game a chance and you will immediately LOVE IT. I guarantee it!!

Well done Word Chums!. Although there are many word games out there, of which I have tried quite a few, Word Chums is by far the best. The options and the format allow you to start and proceed at your own desired pace. It is fully flexible, and includes pleasing whimsical touches. In the course of playing you have fun, are challenged, learn quickly, and feel part of a community. Most importantly, there is always an inviting game at my fingertips that makes me feel virtuous while relaxing...thank goodness!

LOVE THE GAME...BUT. I have the paid version. I only play against the Chumbots. The reason for the three stars is I refuse to use money to buy to buy the cute hats, to upgrade my "gear" so I will have more XP's. My point is unless you spend money so you can level up quicker by purchasing or upgrading gear (XP's), it takes FOREVER to get to the next level and for all of your efforts you get 275 coins. Please, get real. In the beginning I did spend money to upgrade my gear but I am disabled and on a fixed income. There are other fun word games that require no money. I feel this app developer needs to increase the amount of coins you receive when you are at a high level. I have been playing for over two years and agree it is a great game as well as being fun and challenging.

Word chums. Had to write a review about this one, been meaning to do it and then I hit the wrong button, the no thanks one. This is the best word game and I have played a few! It is sooooooooooo much fun, the chums are so cute, you want to make a good word, because the chums look so sad and yes sometimes mad when you don't! They just put a smile on your face and at the same time you are using those little grey cells, it is great! And the makers of this did an outstanding job the way everything works so smoothly, great, great job!Have been playing this now for a few years since this review still love it except for the letters that you are given especially when a new game is started,either they give you mostly vowels or no vowels without fail. Takes the fun out of the game, so please fix this! Sadly the issue I had to write about has not been fixed,I actually paid for this game but if there is no improvement with the above issue I will be deleting this game after quite a few years, what a shame!and the problem has not been fixed turn after turn had to swap letters could not score any points,what fun is that?will be deleting this!

No other like Word Chums. Stimulating! Learning all the time and having so much fun doing it. Growing w each game and each player. Meeting great people from all over the USA and other countries, have become friends w many. Love those Chums and they keep me my toes. Always a game waiting to be played; a new strategy learned; a new word and meaning. A fantastic way to keep learning. The gifts are great and the idea to be able surprise someone! Better than any other word game I have tried. Now, only play "Word Chums". Also having fun bettering myself w each game and word total.

Still the best game on my IPad!. I LOVE this game! I play every day, and find my vocab growing but wish your dictionary would be more helpful. I love that you can get definitions of some words so easily, but others are elusive. When I click to learn the meaning it verifies the word but does not have the definition. Please update definitions more frequently? This game is a winner with the cute animations and sound effects! It is fun and challenging to build rivalries with players and chat back and forth, and I enjoy the costumes and accessories to celebrate the holidays and interests we share.

Addictive. Fun game. Love the little chums. I was playing another word game until a friend invited me to play Chums. Hesitant at first I now have 15 active games with various "chums". The ability to know whether or not a word is playable before playing is one of the many features that Chums uses to keep me motivated to find better words. And let's not forget about the ability to personalize your Chum with a variety of accessories from hats, bouquets of flowers, to motorcycles & helmets. I'm now holding a snow shovel and wearing a warm hat in anticipation of a major snow storm.

$$. The game itself is a ten. I have the pro version, the paid version, but for some reason I am still CONSTANTLY bombarded with “special limited time offers” that haven’t changed for years. What happened to games you can just pay for and play? The pop up doesn’t even let you close it without waiting a few seconds for the no thanks option become usable. It’s a shady and annoying tactic. Every time I start the app or leave a game it’s there. Every time. Ridiculous. I will buy an app at a fair price. I will not exchange real money for fake money. I hate this business model and it’s everywhere now.

Better than Words With Friends!. My girlfriend and I absolutely love this game. We’d been searching for an alternative to Words With Friends because of the endless ads and having to pay $9.99 a month. We are super competitive and mostly only play with each other, but every now and than I’ll play with the computer to keep my mind sharp. I love the option to be able to play the computer at different levels. Although there aren’t many cons to Word Chums, I rated it 4 stars because I do wish it would tell you when you have no more words left to play so that you’re not endlessly looking for a spot to place a single tile only to find there’s no where to play it. Other than that, Word Chums is ace! We love the characters and the ability to dress them up and earn higher percentages of XP. So far, this is our go to word game and I don’t think we’ll be playing any other word games unless this one goes off the market. Highly recommend.

So Much Better than Words with Friends. More exciting, bigger word scores, bigger game scores, more! Valid words are highlighted as tiles are placed, so you don't waste time on trying unacceptable 'words'. Hints are available on where best word would be played (or at least, better word than you have found). Score for your current (but not yet played) word shows how it compares to best possible word, eg, less than 25% of possible points, 25-49%, 50-74%, and 75%-“Best Word”. Can play against friends, randomly, or against Chumbots (computer) at levels from very easy to very hard. All in all, it's so much better than Words with Friends that WWF has become boring. You gotta try it. (Sorry for sounding like a commercial, but it's that good.)

BEST GAME OUT THERE!. I love this game! I can't get enough of it. Once you start playing your hooked. It similar to "Words with Friends" ......only a LOT better. You just have to play to see why. The best thing about it is that you don't have to spent any money if you don't want to. And if you do want to spend money it doesn't have to be your own money, because they give you the opportunity to make easy coins. It's great! It's the only game out there that I've played that offers you this option! Everyone else just wants your money. So don't take my word for it.....give it a try yourself and you'll see.

THE BEST GAME EVER!!! ADDICTIVE!!. My favorite new word game!! Kicked Words with Friends to the curb. Like the fact that when you make a word, it shows in green if it's really a word. Then if it shows the score in green if it is a GREAT word!! The Chumbots are fun anytime-players.. Game gives you hints and bombs, and cheers when you win. Pays you coins for each word to buy hints and bombs. Love the outfits and hats you can shop for at the "store"! Especially like that you can chat with people you play with all over the world! AWESOME!!!!

So fun!. Have been playing WWF for several years, but like this game so much better. I like that it shows whether you've laid down a "usable" word, hints option is great, also fun to get to buy items to up your points faster. Also like that I can play chumbots (my choice of level too!) any time and the wait time for them to respond with a word is immediate...not waiting for other player to respond like when I play a "real" player. Great game!

Great game. Love this game. Just wish the developers would take some of the players suggestions seriously, like let the2nd and 3rd place winners wear the red and yellow ribbons. Update: developers are still not listing to players about giving second and third place winners a red or yellow ribbon. Some players are discouraged because they never get a ribbon or recognition for 2nd and 3rd place. Would love to see some better monthly shopping choices. Would love to see them be more creative. Also when swapping or using a bomb even though it shows good tiles available you end up with 5 ones and can’t play anything. You wasted your bomb. I still gave the 5 stars because I love the game but am afraid I will lose a lot of friends playing the game because they are getting pretty unhappy over these issues.

So much better than WORDS. I have to admit, I loved words with friends until I found this. My mother liked this better and so do I. I love the little outfits. I started off being a cat then just recently switched to a penguin. I kinda wish once you bought a chum you would be able to switch in between like you can with the themes and the outfits. But if you switch chums you have to purchase them again at 500 coins. Bummer! Didn't realize that until I went to see my cat,Poof gone! Great game ! Keep the updates coming

Best Game Around!!. This is my very favorite word game! It’s endless, unlike Word Mocha, which I also liked...enough to purchase it in order to eliminate the annoying ads, but suddenly, it came to an end 😳 it only has so many levels and then it runs out of words. WOW!!!!!! I love playing Word Chums against the computer! It’s a lot of fun and really builds your word skills!!! I bought the Pro version. I highly recommend it. I think it was $5.00, but that was a couple of years ago, and well worth it!!!

the 0NE - & 0NLY - - GAME A HUMAN SH0ULD EVER INDULGE IN !. I have to admit it… I am addicted to WordChums! I love it so much I bought the subscription to end all the annoying ad interruptions during my game time, and might I say… it was well worth it! I spend hours playing against many opponents, which include other WordChum gamers that range from all across the globe…AND…also the option to play anytime with the computer opponent too. So-if you’re one for spelling words…AND…also want to learn new ones than look no further for this is the game for you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thx WordChums!

Great Game!. I used to play Words with Friends, but my cousin told me about Word Chums. I stopped playing it and told family and friends and now they are enjoying it too! I like the Bomb, the Hint and tapping a word to see the definition! Thanks! I still don’t like the large banner that comes up after you play! I know there were lots of negative comments when it changed. It blocks the board and you have to wait until it disappears before you play. But otherwise it is a great game. P.S. I find several words they don’t recognize, which are words. Still feel it’s a great game... but I still don’t like the large banner coming up to tell whose turn it is!😥 I still find several words that aren't recognized, but are words. I still feel the same about the big banner. It's annoying. Thanks!

Best game ever!. I am a wordie, love games like Word Whomp and was a huge YUGE scrabbled until Word Chums! What a fun game. I love the abundant triples and most of all, the definitions available by clicking! Oh! Did I mention the ability to see a legal word appear when you’re just seeing if maybe that letter could work, and Aha! It does… or doesn’t. Best game ever! Thanks! This is what you supplied: Two years ago I had to make myself quit playing because that was all I wanted to do! My work wasn't getting done, the dishes weren't washed, the dog was starving and my husband left me! Just joking, but I did stop playing until this week while I am on vacation and can play all day and night if I want. I love this game. Very fun. Stomping Chumbots is so rewarding! Thank you.

Love this game. LOVE THIS GAME....I think you will too! Anyone can play--the letters turn green when they make a word (help build your vocabulary)! It's very cutesy and fun...you can change your chum into a cat, dog, duck, owl, monster or many other characters. Then color & dress them with your choice of hundreds of accessories to help you level up faster. Accessible via Facebook if you prefer the desktop computer. Please try it! After you have realized how fun it is, PLEASE pay for the PRO "no ads" version to help developers—it's daily entertainment!

Much Better than Words with Friends. Word Chums is more fun than WWF because it gives you more playing options - up to four people can play against each other in one game or they can form teams of two and play a team game. The avatars are fun and as you earn coins, you can “buy” various accessories for your avatar to wear. That probably sounds a bit goofy but it’s really fun. Any my favorite feature is the star ratings for words that you play. If you put down a word and Chums tells you that it would be worth 34 points if you played it but also only lights up two stars (for example), you know that there is a much better word to play somewhere on that board. And it will tell you when you’ve found the best possible word. All in all, it’s a much more engaging and fun experience than WWF.

Outstanding game. Doesn't require that I use Facebook acct and allows playing with random opponents. Great game for scrabble fans. I paid for ad free. Free version was good too, but I like the unlimited bot chums with paid version. Best game since , and maybe including, the now extinct bookworm heroes. Love that it provides word definitions. Highly recommend they treat as invalid words that have no found definition, but they find word Only downside is that even with paid version they try to get you to buy other games. Ads do not interfere or show during game

My New Favorite. I like word games and have played Scrabble for years, but I have to say this is even better. I love how the words turn green if they are legal words and the bubble turns green if you're over 50% towards the BEST word. And speaking of BEST WORDS, I love the four star hint system. If I KNOW there's a word that's better than what I've put on the board then I'll keep on trying till I find it or finally have to give up. It's just very helpful to know whether or not there's a better word out there.

Very Addicting!. Love this game. I have played for over a year now and look forward to playing every day. You can play as much or as little as you want. You can play with friends or a "chumbot" on the difficulty level of your choosing... or you can let the game choose your player, which is usually very close to your level of play. Chat is available if you want social interaction and you can link to Facebook so you can play with your friends. As you work through the levels, you can play for the fun of it or challenge yourself by working through the quests set forth within the game. Good game but...... I love the game and I have chatted with someone from NY but some of the words are ridiculously strange, words you,ve never heard of and even when you click for explanation still don,t seem right. Should be regular words commonly used.

Oddity. Rather a pleasant game. I enjoy the word challenges with friends and the option to send messages. I find it strange the the conversations are censored, particularly for the choice of words which get blanked out during messaging. Apparently "CAMERA" is a suspicious word, and I've had several words blanked out, quite mundane words. Got around that by putting spaces between the letters - c a m e r a - only to find that using that method only works once and then c a m e r a also gets turned into ******

Grant Reibelt. A very engaging game that is preferable to "Words with Friends" and "Scrabble". The characters and extra objects to buy with game coins are a big plus. The chat function makes things more personal. It works. It is fun and I am playing 40 games simultaneously - which is possible due to time zone differences. To add to what I wrote in the past - I stopped playing years ago and have just come back in 2021 and am happy to be there.

I just love this game. so many types of chums to meet. people say it's expensive to buy outfits, if you go for free points quite often, the total adds up. needs a broader dictionary at times, I have a great word, and no score, but it's still a brilliant, mind shaking game for the grey matter.

Addictive. Word Chums is a very addictive game. It accepts some strange words and rejects others that have common usage but it is still my favourite scrabble type game. WORD CHUMS REVIEW. Just love this game. Only problem is that at times I get some useless letters and it's really hard to form a great word. My sister (overseas) gets some really big ones guess she must be using lots of hints and bombs. There are some awesome players here but I will keep trying as I just love word games. Great, cute word game. Wonderful board-style word game in which you compete against friends or random strangers. Very good chat feature and cute equipment for bonuses -- also allows you to establish a character of sorts. Excellent dictionary almost never disappoints. Been around for a while, so players skew skilled, but plenty of variety in skill levels. Two player games are best, multiplayer games drag when any one player plays more slowly (but that's not really the game's fault).

Awesome word game!. It’s the only game that I play. I’ve been playing for years after a good friend introduced me to the game. I’ve always loved Scrabble. It would be nice if there were more options for the costumes & gear offered instead of only a few new ones to choose from each month. Well i beg to differ as they are happening on some very innocent words ( such as in my recent conversation the word whole) It is getting VERY annoying. WORD CHUMS!. It’s the best crossword puzzle I’ve found! Word Chums beats Scrabble and Words for Friends! It is so much fun because of the cute Chums acting out their emotions as the game proceeds. The hints are good and it’s fun to use the points we get to “buy hats and toys” for our chums. It’s also great how you can see when your letters make a word when it turns green! And the definitions are wonderful also, because you don’t need to consult a dictionary. Etc., etc.!!

Word Chums. I agree with the review about this being the Best Word game . I no longer play Words w/ Friends. This game is so much more fun. I disagree with other reviewer about letters provided to start game are mostly all vowels or consonants . I have had great luck/words with starter letters . If that was an issue at one time, it isn’t anymore. I have been playing Word Chums for years and have very few glitches, if any, that I can think of right now. Keep up the great work, guys !... Addictive!. Both my wife and I have become addicted, and we've gotten a few friends hooked too. I like the faster pace and the funny/corny graphics and characters—much more fun than other online word games. My only complaint is the, to me, excessive level of censorship in the chat area. They have explained the reasons to me, but censoring words like “photo”, “email,” and “picture” seems arbitrary and extreme, to say nothing of just plain annoying.

Weirdly unfair. Letters are absolutely not drawn at random as the oddly defensive replies from the dev state. I’m a longtime competitive scrabble player. I can work with a randomly bad draw but that is not this. When playing with no paid boosts, the game consistently delivers totally unplayable tiles while giving AI opponents full seven letter bingos multiple times in a row. By multiple I mean 9 games in ten are less irritating to just resign and restart. Once you have a boost those big bingo hands magically appear. I don’t like boosts because cheating negates the usefulness of the game to me but I don’t like to be cheated against by a pushy pay to win system either.

MUCH better than WWF. This game is engaging! I love the layout and the fun options for chums! I wish the font was different and easier to distinguish between VY and OQ! I like the fact that you can tap the word for the definition, but am often disappointed that the definition is not always available or complete. —-> PLEASE MAKE THE BAR CHART INCLUDE 800 & 900 point games! WHO CARES about 200 point games??? Otherwise, this game is motivating, challenging and fun!

A ton of fun!!. Love this game!! Unlike words with friends that is almost identical to traditional Scrabble, Word Chums rewards the player for a longer word regardless of the bonus squares. Also the hint and bomb options are terrific! Especially the bombs. The chums have really cute behaviors, like tossing down whatever they have in their hands and jumping up and down when their opponent scores a big word. This game is cerebral but, at the same time, very entertaining!!

Addicting!! Buy the upgraded game. I love this game so much! Even my husband plays now! I would never get the free one because there’s a bunch of ads and stuff, and it’s only four or five dollars for the one with no ads! It is so much fun to play and you can invite friends to play as well. My son-in-law and I have three games going at one time! Thanks for this enjoyable and very silly game.

Great Fun. Word games are my favorites and Word Chums is the best! But I want you to get a new dictionary or add a more modern one. The current one has so many old, even ancient, words that even define a word by using the word in the supposed definition. And one more thing, the computer keeps telling me I have the award for the third highest score when there are only two of us playing. How can that be true? Still lots of fun! WC continues to be my favorite game.

Better than Words w/ Friends!. This game is super cute! You get to choose an animal character and dress him up in things that help advance your xp points every time you play a word. There's also a hint button that helps you find where the best place is to create your word. With fun sounds and backgrounds it makes it a much more interactive experience than Words w/Friends.

My Scrabble Clone of Choice. Solid WWF or Scrabble alternative that wont cost you an arm and a leg to play ad-free. It gets a little in your face with asking you to rate the game or push deals on you, but it’s nowhere near as disruptive as the ad spam from WWF. Hints and Bombs hurt the competitive integrity of your games if you care about that at all, but they personally don’t bug me all that much.

Favorite Game, but .... This is my favorite game. I love it, but the latest upgrade has some problems. When opponent chats, the words next to the Chum are blurred. When opening the chat, it sometimes cuts off the last line. I know there was a limit on number of chat words then it will cut it off but, unless the developers reduced that amount, it’s cutting it off way too early. All-in-all, great game.

I like being able to cash in my coins for hints. I like how I can change my emoji depending on the season or holiday! Speaking of holidays I like the Santa and sleigh during winter months. Fun and Different. I have been playing this game for several years. I have met so many people from everywhere. This word game is different than others. We can dress ourselves up in colorful outfits. We can chat with friends, make team games, and get really high scores. We have aides like hints and bombs and stars to tell us when we have the best word. Play It All the Time!. Love this game! I play it to relax and have been playing for years. You can play a whole game with no ad interruption which is a huge plus. You can play against the computer or others. The only thing is doesn’t do is allow you to reset your stats but I love that they maintain lots of stats to show you how you are doing.

Great game, performs flawlessly over hundreds of games.. Yes, this is a great word game. I’ve played it for years and it plays exactly the way you expect. You may take that for granted, but actually I have experienced quite a few games plagued with problems from an insane level of advertising, loss of data (play history) with version changes or premature game termination. Kudos to the devs that delivered this fun, solid, entertaining word game.

Confirms as you write. The option to play levels of varying challenge make it interesting. As you build your word, it changes color to verify that you made a word and gives the score. You get to know as you go. I like being able to play a back and forth game with the chumbots when I feel like it The costumes are an amusing extra

Good for the brain. A friend of mine got me started with Word Chums about a year ago. We are both in our sixties, so games like this are an excellent way to keep our brains challenged. Even though we’re kind of old, we enjoy “shopping” for new things for our chums. Each day we “meet” for a game of scrabble and sometimes she’s nice enough to let me win.

24/7 fun - plus brain stimulation. Love having this game option always handy when I need a break - or challenge! It's the greatest. One option I would add is an agreement to "play it straight" or agree to use an unscrambler aid. It's not much fun playing someone who is using a "cheat" unless you both agree to it. The playing field is not even if your opponent is using a word unscrambler. If I wanted the extra challenge, I would play a Genius Chumbot.

Lots of fun. Word chubs is so good. Especially when the board tells you the letter is good or bad. It lights up if good. I love the hints, you can be so far behind and you ask for a hint.. and you make a much better word. And you can do things to earn points to buy hints. And a bomb has helped me out of the hole, many times Rita, come and play !love the Ga. I already play , Love it

Word Chum Review. I have been playing this game for almost two years. It is still my favorite game. It is fun, addictive, and educational. I give it a five star rating all the way! Not only is it fun, but I have also made many friends from around the world. It is so much fun trying to figure out where your chum mates are from. This is just an all around great game!

Fun game. Ads for in game purchases are not disruptive to game play, so refreshing! Works pretty well on a thin cell connection. Finding players is easy and fast. The chum accessories are updated monthly, quite fun and quite optional. Dictionary is a bit inconsistent and doesn’t give definitions of cross referenced words. It’s annoying but that seems true of a lot of online dictionaries so possibly unavoidable.

So much fun w Chums. Enjoying this game. The Chums are a hoot. Similar to WWF. Like the fact that you get extra points for using 5 or more tiles so mini-bingoes. Also like Hints (points out a spot to make a good word) and Bombs (u can replace entire rack w/ losing a turn). Both cost you coins to use but worth it. You can still swap the regular way but u lose a turn. This is my go to game now.

Great game. Word chums is fun and can be challenging. My sister and I play three games at a time and I still find time to play a chumbot on occasion. I enjoy playing the geniuses but I do think some of the words they play are not words most average people who play word chums are familiar with. All in all it’s an enjoyable game. The only other thing I would say is I don’t like that when you play the chumbots you always have to go first.

Best game!. I like that there is no way to cheat, as in words with friends. It’s adorable; you can dress up a character, meet people from all over, and stay interested. I’m in my 11th year playing. There are multi player options, or you can even just play with the computer and not have to wait for your opponent. So much fun!

Word Chums. I enjoy playing Word Chums at the end of my day. It's challenging and the Chums, gear and game design are bright and cheery. I never feel harassed by being pushed to buy tokens in order to continue playing like other games are designed. Thus Word Chums is one of the longest playing apps I have on my iPad. This clever and fun twist to the old board game I use to play will continue to be one of my favorites for many years to come. Thanks, BF

Pretty good but. Word Chums keeps improving. One thing I would like to see is that when you are given a hint and you select a word that may meet or even exceed the hint you may not have necessarily selected the best word, I would like to see Word Chums provide that information. There have been times when I have spent hours laboring over possibilities of getting the best word, and gave up and have wound up just merely settling for beating the hint, still wondering what the best word could have been.

Reliably Fun! - DITTO:-D. I may not get to play this game everyday, and some days I may play a few times...but every time I come back and jump in, it is nice to find that my players/ friends are still in and connected. It is fun to earn rewards and use them to dress my Chum. Just wish the backgrounds/seasons were more affordable! Having a Chum dressed in summer gear standing in the middle of winter, just does not seem right. Hopefully some day that will happen!

Word Chums. So much better than Words with Friends. Been playing for years with some of the same players, and we have no idea who one another is. I love the fact that you can actually see your point total for each word you make, before clicking. You can also play complete games with the comical Chumbots. I never get bored, and it challenges your vocabulary.

Computer cheats. I paid for this game and used to love it until it started having problems recognizing valid words like He, Hi, and velcro?? I even contacted support and they stopped responding to me even with proof of screenshots. Also, the game gives itself credit on words it did put in correctly. For example, the computer typed the word jane and it gave itself credit for writing the word jean?? I contacted support again and even though they responded, they basically covered themselves with a nonsense response. There are way better games like scrabble than this one, again the only reason I’m dealing with this is because i paid for it

Great game!. I’ve been playing for many years. I use the paid version so no ads, ever. I’ve been playing some of the opponents since I first started playing and the competition is pretty fierce. There’s no prompts to play other variations, just lets me play what I want, when I want. And it never starts a game with an opponent unless I ask it to. I wish more apps were like this.

BAD customer support. I have been playing this game for quite a few years now. I really love the game. However I was putting it on a new phone the other day and kept getting a connection error. They were really good to respond initially but when the things they told me to do didn’t work, crickets. They totally just stopped responding. So I recommend the game... as long As you don’t have any errors with it. Otherwise you end up having to let games just hang and make people think you just quit playing. For the record, I would never do that.

Love this game. Have been playing Word Chums for years. I usually have them choose a player for me.. I've been playing with the same few people for several years. You can send a quick note if they played a great word. Fun game I usually have 7-8 games going at the same time. Also fun because you can ask where they are from..., Great game Love word Chums.......always fun. Thanks for a great app Maryellen

Word Chums fun with a challenge. I love word games...husband doesn't . This reminds me of my childhood game scrabble. Love there is no limit of games. You can play random players, friends, computer, or by levels. I just love to play. Good brain exercise and stretching my vocabulary. Addictive...stretches the brain. Plus a chance to make new friends from all over. This keeps me busy when I travel long distances too.

LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!. This game is better than WWF, you can play against real people, even in a team, or you can play against the computer (a Chumbot) anytime you want to ... As soon as you play a word, the Chumbot takes a turn. Also the little Chumbots are so cute. I am so glad I found this game...play it all the time...it's very addicting :) Just wish there were more women's hats and flowers for sale in the monthly gear!!!!

10X Better Then Scrabble Plus Great AI Opponents!. I would give this game 10 stars if I could :-) It's a fantastic word game puts Scrabble to shame so much easier to not have to deal with the dictionary having it built into the app. If you love word games you should get this one! Fantastic graphics and tons of fun characters and options :-) You can play your friends or you can play AI opponents and make this game is easy or as difficult as you like... Great for a little brain exercise and a lot of fun!

Word Chums. Is a fun word game you play with others. You can play short games or a regular game. You choose your chum (play piece) then dress him/her up in fun items. When playing a word you know whether it is acceptable right away- - a “good” word is highlighted in a neon green, along with how many points it is worth so you have time to keep/play it or make a different word. If you are a word junkie, like me, give it a try I think you’ll like it!

Cute & Fun!!!. This game has cute characters you can choose from that make adorable noises. I really like how the words light up if it’s a legit word, unlike Scrabble. Plus you can dress up your Chums, get hints, etc. The only thing I don’t like is all the creepy dudes trying to get my email and whatnot to chat. I don’t mind talking to people but I’ve had enough of that already!

Love it. I’m hooked on it. Play every day. But a couple irritating things. When I have best game of the week, which I often do, a blue #1 badge does not show up on my Chum on the side - only below where it can only be seen if I’m playing someone. It shows on other’s chums, but not mine. Very annoying!! Also occasionally a word is in your dictionary but not acceptable in game. On the plus side - I think playing has helped my memory. And it’s lots of fun. Great pastime for retired person.
