Pushpin for Pinboard Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

Hangs on saving a link from the share sheet. Often crashes with “can’t save bookmark without url.“ Promising but 15 seconds is too long and crashes too frequent for a $10 app.

Reader view appears not to work. Deducting a star because Pushpin’s reader view (as opposed to reader view in Safari view controller) appears not to work.

Bookmarking from the Share Menu is Very Slow. The app is generally good, but bookmarking from the share menu is usually VERY slow. This is how I bookmark almost everything on mobile which is why it’s such a problem for me.

Don’t forget to add a tip! Clean quick and full of features. Thanks for the update! I hope this app is kept fresh now. It's the only app that correctly syncs my large number of bookmarks. I've been eyeballing this app for a long time and after I saw the new refresh I knew it was time to snag it. So far I'm enjoying it. It quickly synced my bookmarks and is lightning fast. I don't mind paying a premium price for quality and to support worthwhile services.

Doesn't work well with large number of bookmarks. I don't know what was "fixed", but still doesn't load my (large) set of bookmarks, even when I deleted the app and then installed the new release to start fresh.

Well made. Quality app. Simple. Reliable. Advanced features.

Ahead of the pack. With recent updates, I think Pushpin has finally pulled ahead of the other Pinboard apps on iOS, and I doubt the others will catch up.

Share extension is broken. Since the last iOS update, when I tap the Pushpin icon in the share sheet, it does nothing and locks up the the app I'm sharing from. This is the only reason I have the app on my phone, so I had to switch to another Pinboard client that's been updated much longer ago than the one year this app has gone, but sharing still works.

New version on new iOS unreliable.. Pushpin used to have two icons on the share sheet, a quick read later one, and the full tagging sheet. A couple of versions ago they stopped being labeled that, and there were just two identical pushpin icons and you had to remember that the left one did something different than the right. Now there is only one, and what it does changes randomly, and often doesn’t appear at all. The app now crashes at startup about 50% of the time.

Functional but room for improvement. This is your only option if you want offline reading, and it does that well and has a nice interface. There are a few areas for improvement though. 1. It cuts off long descriptions and then syncs the shortened description back to Pinboard (which has an absurdly long character limit, so it shouldn’t be cutting them off) 2. Reader view doesn’t work with Archive of Our Own, which seems like an oversight since Pinboard actively courts fandom. 3. There doesn’t seem to be a way to star bookmarks within the app? 4. It would be nice if it remembered your place where you were reading, since the offline mode positions it as a read later app. 5. Support takes forever to respond.

Seems decent, but really needs dark mode. Wish it supported dark mode. Really jarring to see an app that doesn’t these days (really affects the share sheet the most). Hope the developer adds that soon. I didn’t have the smoothest startup experience as well. It spun for a while, maybe just because of how much data I have in my account. Wish the app had some progress indicator. Otherwise, a decent replacement for my previous favorite, Pinner.

I want to leave a tip!. This is a phenomenally great app. I actually went straight to the tip jar when the update arrived, but (irony of ironies) the tip jar view is all messed up on my phone (6s, iOS 10). Please fix so I can show my appreciation!

Tons of bugs. First: The way to use this app is to copy the link and switch over to pushpin. The share sheet extension doesn’t do anything other than save the URL (no pop up to add tags or description). A decent share sheet pop up is really the only thing I’m looking for. Next: there are tons of bugs. Searching in the “All” list is ineffective. Every time you click a link or edit an item the search is reset. Plus, editing items (the tags) do nothing. The item is unchanged the next time I search. I tried searching from the main screen’s search tab (at bottom) which leads to a more permanent search query, but then I’ve had 2 app crashes while trying to edit items in that list. Finally: the scroll window does not show every item on my iPhone 11. There are at least 2 items off the bottom of the screen. I can drag them up, but can’t click on them because the scroll view resets when I lift my finger. Maybe this used to be a good app, but now it’s a waste of money.

Superhuman Powers!. So excited to have native iOS searching. Now there's a chance that I will find more things I need to use! I've got thousands of bookmarks and really am going to make a lot of the app now! I actually have made pushpin my go-to for everything already. I love the auto-complete for summaries, reader version, and editing of tags. So incredibly powerful

The only decent Pinboard client out there, with a few issues. The only actively developed and remotely usable Pinboard client out there. Has some UI bugs/inconsistencies and doesn’t support dark mode, but if you’re a Pinboard user this is your best choice.

On the short list of best Pinboard clients. Very well featured, the absolute most configurable Pinboard client I’ve found. -Pinboard is my one and only bookmarking service. However, bookmarking (via share sheet) is slow for all the clients I’ve tried. So I use a Workflow (the automation app) process, and it’s faster and shows you bookmarking process as it chugs along.

A decent app for Pinboard Users. I have had Pushpin for a while but often opted to use the app PinSwift because it felt more feature-rich. But, after the development for that app ended, and I was unable to reinstall it on a new device, I turned to Pushpin. Generally, the app seems to offer me the opportunity to share my links well, and I appreciate some of the features a lot (such as tag matching). While there are some really good features for power-users (like batch editing), I feel that some features are conspicuously absent (for example, it does not pull any data from RSS or the Web to auto-fill the description section for a new bookmark/pin, which would seem to be an obvious feature to include). I was going to see if power-user functions like this were available through the URL schemes offered on the developer website but it seems that links to this section are no longer accessible on the developers site.

Reinstalled to try out new update -> Fast!. Just wanted to state how surprised I am at how seriously fast pushpin was. Maybe it's just the design/status cues, but it feels at least twice as fast on the same hardware. Both iPad (9.5" pro) and iPhone (6, not s). First impressions are A+.

Excellent tool for my digital library. Being able to quickly mark links for later review / reference and classification is such a vital task and this tool makes that task much faster. great features, fast, reliable and all the improvements over time make this app a serious value and tool. The integration with iOS share sheets and offline reading is just superb. Thank you to the developers and service providers for powerful bookmarking for the 21st century.

The Great Pinboard App. You got to hand it to the developer(s) for keeping PushPin fully functional and relevant. Nothing is broken. It works with iOS 13 and has retained its blazing fast search and speed. Updates are not at all frequent these days, but when everything is working well, I see little need for it to be wrenched on all the time. And when updates do happen they are significant. And as always it’s intuitive, with plenty of customization available to make the experience worthwhile and personal. PushPin even plays nice with iPads. I’d encourage anyone reading this to seriously consider a “tip” to the developer(s). If you enjoy the advanced capabilities it provides and have had years of value and enjoyment from this excellent Pinboard app. Lastly, as luck would have it, PushPin is also the very last of the iOS Pinboard apps that actually works. So if you are looking for a Pinboard app, PushPin is literally THE ONE that hasn’t been totally abandoned.

Top Pinboard App. I’ve used this app for years. It’s invaluable as an interface to Pinboard on the iOS platforms. The share extension for Safari makes it quick & easy to add sites to the platform. Just get it.

Like it, with a few reservations. Over all, this is the best app I’ve used for pinboard, but there are a few minor issues I’d like to see addressed 1. Visual glitches with the top bar when pulling down to refresh 2. No way to look at “read” items as a group 3. Advanced search interface is simple a text box—would be nice to have tag suggestions when starting `tags:` prefix

Unstable app. Crashes at fairly predictable intervals. I would stay away until the developer is able to fix it. A few years ago the iOS selection for pinboard apps was pretty limited so it was maybe worth putting up with the above problems, but now there seems to be several alternatives to choose from.

Good app but.... Background app refresh for unread articles doesn’t seem to work! Share menu actions are also much slower than just using the safari bookmarks.

Loses data, Poor privacy policy. I found something new to hate about this terrible rip off app: it constantly silently fails to save bookmarks. Hugely enraging. I have paid to lose a lot of data. Original: The privacy policy is incredibly broad and permissive. Why am I paying so much but you get to what whatever you want with my personal data? Hate it and don’t trust you.

Great way to use Pinboard. I couldn’t count how many times a day I use this app. Highly recommended.

Great App! Constant updates to keep up with pushpin. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I have to recommend the app to anyone using pinboard. It is great!

Good functionality, great service. I use this app from the iOS Share Sheet to save URLs; it works as advertised. (Also: it’s well supported. I reported a couple of bugs, and they emailed me personally a couple weeks later to let me know they were fixed.)

Great app. Dark mode option would be awesome. The app is great. If a dark mode option were to be added for the whole app and not just reader mode it would be the cherry on top.

Previously excellent, now broken. Previously I would have rated this product very highly but it now hangs whenever I attempt to use the tool. I imagine this is a iOS update maintenance problem, the tool has otherwise been stable.

waste of money.. i agonized over purchasing this app for the longest time. i’ve used pinner for a while now and it mostly gets the job done, but i was never thrilled with it. since more issues have cropped up lately i finally decided to bite the bullet and try pushpin. it’s very pretty, i’ll give it that. but seeing as the read later share extension never seems to be able to retrieve the page title and the bookmark share extension just leaves chrome unresponsive, it’s completely useless to me for the purpose of actually bookmarking things. which is kind of the point. i’m feeling pretty ill at having essentially thrown $10 away, honestly.

Consistent and customizable. This app is rock solid, has great integration with the browsers I use (chrome, safari, Firefox, firefox focus, brave), and doesn’t crash as other pinboard clients I’ve used. I especially like being able to control the width and justification of the text.

Sharing Extension Crashes and Slow. When saving almost all links the app simply hangs. If it doesn’t hang it fails with “Unable to save without a title”. When I click the link there’s clearly a page title on the page.

$10. Doesn’t support split view. ???. Look, I really like paying for software that’s well designed and maintained and all that jazz. But I feel like there needs to be an upfront warning: “yes, we have an iPad app but no it doesn’t support one of the most important features of pro-level multitasking: split view.” So this is that warning. Probably don’t buy it if you expect to multitask on an iPad with it.

Great Pinboard app. Pushpin is a great app, with a solid interface, and routinely updated. It’s always one of the first apps I install on any new device. Thanks devs!

Only usable Pinboard app on iOS right now. I love Pinboard, but there aren’t many good apps on iOS that work with the API. This is the only app I can find that continues to get updates and has been solid for years.

Share to app broken. Been using this app for years. Was great when it first came out but has had a broken share sheet integration for about as long as share sheets have existed. Asked support about it and they blamed Apple but promised a fix. Waited another year or two but no progress. Beginning to look like abandonware. Pins for Pinboard doesn’t have this problem and has a nicer UI, so I’m switching.

Doesn’t work. The app seems to go through the motions of logging in and downloading bookmarks and then ... nothing. I’m not sure how to get in touch with the developers. Using the form on their web page to request help has yielded no response. There really ought to be trial period so you’re not down by $10 for a non-functioning app.

Been using for years. Love the app. Nice and simple. Would love to see some UI changes and removal of swiping right to prefill. It doesn’t work well for me and I’d love a button instead.

Completely useless. The instant I input my Pinboard credentials, the app froze and glitches out. I let it sit for several hours, thinking perhaps it was just tied up with the sync process, but after all that time it still doesn’t show any of my Pinboard bookmarks. I can share bookmarks to Pinboard through the app, but can’t view them. I’ve tried troubleshooting, but there’s absolutely no helpful support/contact info for the developer. In short: a complete waste of money & time.

Seems to be bug-ridden. When i bought this a year ago and used it for a few weeks, I gave it 5 stars for its elegance and just for the fact that it worked. Nowadays, performance is inconsistent to the point that I’ve just stopped using it. What’s the point of manually adding a bookmark, including having to type the description, title, and tags, only for the app the constantly crash? As of Jan 2020, this app was last updated 6 months ago. I would not buy this until another update is made.

Lame. On iPad, no way to get to browse page to list all tags. No way to get to settings. Can only log in the first time the app runs. Never mind testing, but do indie developers even try to use their apps once? Back to Pinner even though its quick add sheet is broken. Will request full refund. Sheesh: $10 for this?

great app. so far this app does everything that I hoped it would do, and does it well. easy to add /edit. easy to search through tags. captive browser is fast for reviewing links. sharing links is easy. the developer responded within a day to a question I sent their way. I'm sure that I can come up with useful things that they don't do yet, but pushpin nails the basics in an incredibly useful app. I expect this to quickly become an indispensable part of my web workflow.

The premier Pinboard app. I resisted spending the money for this app for years, but I am so glad I finally broke down and spend the $$. Developer is very responsive to concerns. Makes managing my Pinboard blinks a breeze.

The best gets better. Best app for managing your pinboard bookmarks. I’ve been using it since day 1 and never looked back.

Sharing from Chrome still doesn’t prefill consistently. Much of the time the “swipe right to prefill” functionality does nothing. Clicking on “feedback and support” in the app also does nothing, which makes it difficult to give feedback.

Love the app. Keep up the great work. I’d like to see the offline limit increased, or just add an unlimited option.

Long Time User, but dated. I can’t justify moving to any other Pinboard app, however this could seriously benefit from an update introducing some of the latest iOS quality of life enhancements - dark mode being at the top of my list.

The best tagging for Pinboard!. Pushpin has a tagging Field it auto fills out with your already existing tags. It’s the only app on the market that actually has that. It is a game changer. I go back every few weeks on my iPhone and look at all the articles I have read to tag them. It’s relaxing and essential for my workflow. Pushpin makes it much easier.

Bugs make it difficult to use. As I write this it has been almost a year since the app was updated. There had been a frustrating usability bug that means when I search, the top item (likely the one I want) is hidden beneath the top area with the search tools. I can only tap it if I pull down and quickly catch it before the recoil. Maddeningly frustrating. Would not recommend this app until the developer shows more of an interest in maintenance.

One of the best Pinboard Client. Works great and would even allow me to bulk edit Pinboard tags...etc. I reply on it to organise all my tags of my thousands of bookmarks store on Pinboard. Much easier to use than doing it on the actual PB site!

Regularly updated, extremely useful. This is a fantastic app that is regularly updated after all these years and is extremely useful for anyone who uses pinboard regularly and wants an easy bookmarking and managing bookmarks experience. Keep up the good work!!

Good Pinboard client with excellent search. I tried quite a few Pinboard apps - and this one is most to my likeing: Clean interface and a better search than the other clients.

The ultimate app for Pinboard. This is by far the best app for Pinboard. It has every feature that you could need and it looks great on the iPad and iPhone. It's definitely worth the money. No regrets with the purchase.

Love it when it works. Great and simple to use when it works. But lately has been repeatedly cancelling out for no reason when I'm half way through adding tags or descriptions. Driving me nuts. Please fix!

fast and efficient on my iPad 3. i used to use pinner. somewhere along the way, pinner became completely unusable on my iPad 3. i have a LOT of tags, and pinner's UI would literally freeze and become unresponsive when trying to view my list of tags. Pushpin handles this without a single hiccup on my aging iPad. well done, and thank you.

The lock icon is annoying — fix it now. I ask you, dear peasants, why do I have to see a "lock" icon beside every bookmark when my entire Pinboard account is set to private? I want you to find the lock icon and I want you to fix it so that I may observe my app landscape and be happy again.

does the job, but needs to embrace more iPad features. was using Pinner as my pinboard app until recently, but it seems like the developer has abandoned it, so I picked up this one instead, as it’s one of the few apps that seems like it’s being actively developed. unfortunately the iPad experience is subpar, with no support for features like split view. it’ll do for now but I hope the developer is going to keep working on it.

Best Pinboard client just got better!. Pushpin has just sailed past my long-time favourite Read-it-later service — Instapaper.

All I wanted from a pin board app. In one slick package :)

Too many small UX annoyances.. Two share entries with the same name, a “bookmark added!” message when you cancel adding, a single tag is not accepted if you don’t add a space, no normal iOS keyboard when you add a description, and worst of all no auto-completion based on my own tags. This makes adding links just too painful.

Best Pinboard client for iOS period.. I love Pushpin! I love the addition of iOS 8 features like the share extension. It is the best Pinboard client for iOS period. Really responsive developer too.

Great usability, one critical bug. The share sheet to add bookmarks from within Safari doesn't work correctly on the latest iOS. This is a critical bug that I'm surprised hasn't been fixed yet. Otherwise, if you use Pinboard, this app gives you all the features you might hope for, and then some!

Disappearing share sheet SOLVED. I had posted a review that the share sheet disappeared and I couldn’t save bookmarks anymore. I found the solution is to reboot your device, the share sheet has reappeared. 👍🏼

App of Choice for my Bookmarks. Use it multiple times each day and it’s a solid part of my daily workflows on iOS. Recent bug was fixed in hours with friendly response from developer. Tip coming now.

Great App. Does what it says on the tin: a full featured, well laid out, great tool. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who uses Pinboard. Just wish there was a way to hide those interface elements that I don’t use (e.g.: fandom and other saved searches, notes, etc.) to declutter some of the interface. I also feel like it should take fewer taps to drill down to groups of bookmarks organized by tag. But these are minor gripes in a great app. Feature request: a way to open tab sets and grab open tabs from Safari session to save as a new tab set. That would be suh-weet.

Great!. Price is steep, sure - but the app is great. Took me a bit of puttering to grasp all it could do but I wouldn't want to be without it, now. Lovely style & functionality.

So glad it's back!. For several weeks after the iOS9 system released, I even was not able to find PushPin in App Store...looked like it's dead or stop updating. And I've always been kicked out from the app when I click the Settings menu.... I feel so glad that it's been updated earlier today and know it's still working well! Please keep going on. It's always the first choice for Pinboard users.

Good app, but found a bug. This app is great for saving and organizing links to read later and has a nice ability to share links with community. There is a bug that closes the program when you try to select a reader service in settings, at least it does on my iPad Air.

Share extension is broken. Unusable for the primary purpose of posting links to Pinboard. Hangs on opening share sheet and selecting the app. With no updates in a year it appears this app has reached the end of its useful life.

Great design, crashing issues.. About every other load it crashes on sync. I do have a large bookmark list of about 1200 but still crashing every other load is frustrating.

Important feature left broken. Pushpin is a very good app for Pinboard, but one of the reasons I spent $10 on it was for its offline mode, which has been broken for months. App otherwise hasn't been updated since the end of 2015. Not great for a $10 app.

mildly frustrating experience but still the app I use for pinboard. (see title) ...new versions of the app add compatibility for newer iOS features and an overall simpler, better experience. however slowness still plagues the share extensions, on an iPhone 5 at least. forced to wait 1-2secs with totally unresponsive screen while it slowly conveys 'saved successfully' ... I'm a fan of indie's but unfortunately also have sorta high standards for speed in expensive apps... but I'm supportive. keep it up tireless dev! we are grateful. buy this app if there's no obvious better choice avail when you read this... at the time of writing, this is my go to pinboard app.

Average. Clunky interface.. Better tag display would be great. Don’t need my bookmark tags highlighted.

Decent when it works. It’s unreliable. The UI is ok, not great, but all I really want is for it work at all every day. Some days it does, some days it doesn’t.

Much improved — imo the only useful iOS pinboard client as of August 2013. The Pushpin team are to be congratulated on all of the improvements in the recent updates. Granted, I have a lot of bookmarks — but when I first tried Pushpin the experience was not so great. Just now I tried it and all of my bookmarks installed in just a couple of seconds, and it looks like they have added a lot of very useful-looking filters, including the ability to "follow" other users. Also, nice job on the 1password integration ;-)

Absolutely Outstanding. Dang near perfect, one of my few desert island apps. If desert islands had cell coverage. Great functionality with search, settings for handling pinning and browsing, fast extensions, and a reader mode. Great design with a splash of color, lots of font and layout options, light and dark mode, and just the right amount of info shown in the bookmark list. But wait! It even has a customizable (recent, unread, all) offline mode, download full web archives of your bookmarks! So, Internet or no, this Pushpin has you covered. Love it. Simply top notch – Pushpin is an absolute must buy if you use Pinboard.

Great for reading later. Like the app as an alternative to Pocket and Instapaper. Would like a quicker add mode without the popup - I always add using defaults. Also a swipe gesture method to mark as read, and delete for quick moving through unread queue. Also offline unread caching for reading on the plane.

One of my must have apps is better. Been excited about this for a long time. Great update! So excited to diver further into the app.

Great way to integrate Pinboard with iOS. Pushpin makes iOS better. It's one of the essential apps like Instapaper that I can't do without. Spotlight support in the new version is a handy and welcome feature.

Freezes on save. Progress moving backwards. Using save extension causes app to freeze.

Nice. Consistently great app. Makes it very easy to bookmark on the go.

Great App! Please Consider Night Mode. I love this app and am happy to pay for it. I tried Pinner and others but find this to have the best auto-filled description and tags. There's really only one thing I wish I could see and that would be a night mode for navigating the app itself. The reader mode has it, but I find it jarring in the dark when I leave reader mode and go back to the app navigation. This would put this app over the top!

New update is awesome. Will donate/tip again because this developer deserves it.

Great update!. Love the honest explanation about the lack of updates and love the update itself

Out of date and primary feature is busted. I bought this for Offline Sync. Guess what? That has a critical bug and crashes whenever it attempts a download. Their support site shows that people have been reporting this issue for a very long time. The lack of an update for over a year makes it clear this is abandonware. I'll gladly update my review when this gets fixed.

Share sheet functionality does not work anymore. Share sheet functionality does not work anymore. Hangs and crashes.

Pinning via share function no longer works. App is broken. Not updated for over a year.

Fantastic App. I use this both to run through links I've saved for later reading, and to organize past bookmarks. It's extremely responsive and snappy and well designed. I always find I'm able to quickly do what I need to do!

Needs a dark mode. So far the app is great my only issue is that it needs a dark mode.

Can’t add tags from Safari share sheet. Pushpin’s Safari share sheet button only saves. It doesn’t offer a way to add tags in the moment while using Safari.

Wow. I was hesitant at the price for a sec but best $10 ever spent. Amazing job

Great w/ Safari extension. This has always been a good Pinboard app, but the new version is now great! With the Safari extension, it's easy & quick to send a web page to Pinboard. It might seem like a small change, but the app is now way more useful. Setting tags etc. is easy. Support is very responsive. Highly recommended.

Awesome. I was already impressed with the old version, so the massive update makes it that much better. It's hard to add to this app, but Lionheart did a great job. It's hard to give 5 star reviews because no app is perfect, but this is getting real close.

Great app, excellent support. I'll be brief. If you're into Pinboard, you should seriously consider Pushpin. Great design, simple to use, pleasant to the eye. Had a glitch - the current version was not allowing to register a bookmark description (quite important, as you can imagine). Sent a mail to Lionheart software. Dan replied in a matter of hours, corrected the issue in a couple of days and - this is the best part - sent me an email telling me the update was available. Can't get too much of that nowadays. Way to go, Dan! In a nutshell, to me it's worth the price.

Buggy. Would be cool if every time i change a setting the app would not freeze.

Great product.. What fabulous easy to use, stable app fory favorite bookmarking service.

Fast and functional. Wish there was support for pulling descriptions automatically from share sheet.

Best Pinboard App. Use it upwards of 50 times a day (no joke) and couldn't imagine my life without it. The advent of extensions just made this app that much easier to add and edit. Other apps don't come close!

Doesn’t work on iOS 14. It freezes when you try to launch it from the share sheet.

Slow, mediocre. Decent app, I think a lot of the problems are due to pinboard api.

Awesome pinboard client. Can you add the "Whitney" typeface as an option for system and article view fonts? I love that font. Also a system wide sepia/grey/black color theme like in the article view would be much welcomed. Otherwise this app is great!

Sharing extension is super super slow. Takes 5-10s for the overlay to disappear

Best, but overrated. While Pushpin is likely the very best Pinboard client out there, and the app is indeed very good, I think it is vastly overrated (especially given its hefty price tag). Granted, Pinboard is a niche product and I want the developers of Pushpin to make money so they can continue to improve the product, but it is missing some fundamental features (or perhaps they are hidden). They are: 1. Background refresh. And automatic refresh upon launch doesn't work consistently. 2. No sorting option. 3. No time stamp. 4. Cannot search with date range. 5. Tags isn't quickly accessible, requiring two clicks to get to the tag you want. Individual tags should be listed on the side bar. 6. No iCloud sync for settings.

Great. Robust. Artful. Concerned. Considered. Measured. The newest update took more time from the dev so it couldn't ship right for ios 8. But instead of looking elsewhere I saved my pennies by not trying other apps and waited. Completely worth it. Pushpin remains a work of love and one of complete and total utility. It makes me love Pinboard and makes a great tool for my life. I also love Spillo for Mac, and find that these solutions are the best way to manage bookmarks and by extension - research. What a great app, boy oh boy.

Offline sync appears to be completely broken. (Updated). ** Post 8/17 update - major feature was broken for close to a year (see below), no worthwhile features were added in an update that took over a year to deliver, and now the dev is talking about moving to a subscription pricing model. How obtuse is that? Life and babies happen, and that's great - but don't let people continue giving you money for an app while it's junk then talk about asking for more money. Still wouldn't recommend paying for this, if you read the commit notes you'll see there's no concrete plan for crediting you once the subscription becomes real. Wish the pinboard dev would make an app, the service is great and he's ultra responsive. ** I had to completely delete my cache to get pushpin to even start a sync, despite the fact that it should be downloading the last 30 days of bookmarks automatically. After clearing the cache, it doesn't perform background sync and manual sync crashes the app entirely. This problem persists no matter the options I choose for offline, whether it be all, unread only or last 30 days only. Definitely would not recommend in its current state.

Not working on iOS 13. Needs an update...

No longer abandoned! W00T!. Great to see the app is under development again. 🤞 the work continues!

Great update!. Great app, with clearly dedicated developers. This app is well supported and worth your support. You’ll dig it. I use it all the time and it’s smooth and clean and a pleasure to use. Now I can really get up from my desktop and work with my pinboard account from the couch on the sofa instead..

No longer works with Chrome. I moved to Pushpin because Pinner stopped working (title bug). Now, Pushpin won’t work with Chome due to title bug. I can’t recommend this app now unfortunately until this is fixed. Now Pinner working again.

One of Most Consistent Performer of App Crashing!!. After conducting what I thought was extensive research and comparisons, including reading more App Store reviews than I probably should, I decided to take the blind faith and "bite the ($10) bullet" to purchase this "Best Pinboard app for IOS". From the very first day of using the app to months later, the *only consistent factor* in the app's performance is CRASH, likely within 1 min at MOST, regardless of - total bookmarks count (from >500 to 30k+) - numerous uninstall and reinstall attempts - functions performed (from simple app opening to view bookmark to search, etc) I can appreciate the time and efforts app creators have dedicated into creating an app and fully understand that issue fixes and problem resolutions are part of the ongoing development and improvement process, which is why I stayed patient, tried a variety of fixes others suggested, waited for app updates over the course of many months. Yet, this app remained true and consistent to its habit to Crash and Crash immediately!! After gathering dust on my iPhone and iPad Pro for TOO many months, right now I'd rather pay another $10 just to remove the app so it can no longer remind me how big of a disappointment and terrible purchase decision I had made (could've bought all the other Pinboard apps with the same $10) whenever my eyes happened to land on the icon by accident. To app creator, I truly hope you can address this issue for all users vocal in their written reviews or the silent others like myself who do not usually write reviews and suffer from poor performance nonetheless. Btw, this could be the cause behind the skewed app ratings, especially since "reliable performance, lack of app crash?!, fast processing speed" are among the most frequently mentioned advantages to the app.

Fails to load. Logging in via password or token leads to a grey screen with no options but log in. Relaunching app just shows “error” box.

Share sheet crashes constantly. Good app, but the share sheet—which is super important in an app like this—crashes all the time when used in other apps. The swipe right to auto fill title also rarely works. I'm happy to pay a premium for a good app, but it has to work perfectly. This one just doesn't.

Best Pinboard App So Far. Let me start by agreeing with the vast bulk of other reviewers of Pushpin. This is the best iOS Pinboard experience that's yet been produced. But I restrain my praise somewhat because of the lack of an integrated mobilizer view in Pushpin. The model here is Reeder, with it's embedded Readability integration. I don't necessarily care that it's Readability specifically, but there are those of us who don't have the eyesight they once used to, and others of us who never had great eyesight. For those folks, trying to read HTML-formatted, 6-pr. type is more than just a strain and an annoyance, it's a near-impossibility. I can't imagine it would be that hard to offer Instapaper or Readability mobilizer functionality - hell, even Google mobilizer. Doing so would make Pushpin a truly unbeatable app for bookmarking.

Pinboard is Essential for Me and Pushpin is a Great Solution. Pushpin is a wonderful app that I use many times a day for accessing bookmarks on Pinboard as well as creating new ones. The inclusion of Pushpin on the share sheets within Safari etc is great, and the developers have been quick to answer my questions. Highly recommended for Pinboard users.

Does not work on IOS 13. Doesn’t work !

Can't handle my enormous Pinboard collection. I used Pinner but it's share sheet is flaky. So switched to Pushpin. Alas, it can't handle my tens of thousands of Pinboard items (extreme case). It simply refuses to update, or updates slowly. Suspect way it invokes Pinboard API triggers throttling. Pinner avoids that. I think for majority of users it is fine, but for me it simply does not work whereas Pinner does (save share sheet!). So only tow stars for my use case.
