HORABLE DONT GET IT!. This app is a total looser it should be thrown in the trash where it belongs!!!

Sneaky sneaky!. I have evaluated many music theory/ notes reading apps, some paid and some free. This app definitely makes my top ten list. A big turn off, however, a deal breaker, is that even after paying $4.99 for the app (I would have paid even more by the way) I have pay 99 cents extra to get the ads removed. Seriously?

Almost perfect. Great customization options: choosing key signatures, note range, whether to include accidentals, whether to label keyboard notes, all fantastic. But one flaw that makes it annoying enough that I don't like to use it: you can't choose what part of the keyboard to show on your screen. It's divided into 3 set sections, and the default middle section is set with middle C shifted 3 notes to the left of center. I want to have the app mirror what I see when I sit down at the piano, typically lined up with middle C, so I can reinforce my auto response, not relearn it. If the keyboard slider could be customized to show the desired note range onscreen, it would be 5 stars plus!

Fast Repetition speed = fast learning. This app allows you, even in free version, to move quickly through notes, make mistakes and also see your accuracy increase. Just what I was looking for

Great app!. I've tried several apps to help re-learn reading music. This is my favorite of any of them. Clean, simple and effective! I also like that the in app advertising is unobtrusive. Just for that reason, I think I'll purchase the no-ad version, if there is one.

Great App. Ok this is the easiest, most intuitive app to use. I use to play a little guitar, but I only knew the treble cleft. I have a piano at home and no matter how long I tried to memorize the bass cleft, I guess I never got motivated enough. We are talking years here. A couple of weeks ago I started to sing at church in harmony choir, and at home I tried to pick out my notes on the piano. Sometimes it took me a minute to figure out the note on the bass cleft. To make a long story short, after using this app after about a hour, I had the bass cleft memorized. It's a lot of fun, easy to use and worth the upgrade to get the other key signatures. Also it is nice to not have the notes written on the keyboard, which is part of the options. Ok an improvement to this app might be to have some recognizable melodies instead of just random or ascending descending notes, but regardless, this is the best app for learning your notes.

Surprisingly effective. My sight reading speed and accuracy have improved dramatically in a short space of time.

Teacher's dream. My students will eagerly ask for this game over and over, just to play with my iPad, while they would never beg for flash cards! In a group they love to see who gets the highest score. Genius!

It's great. It's simple, easy, and gets the job done. Once you get the hang of it, it's smooth sailing. Though some people may have a problem if they don't understand basic measures. (EGBDF, etc.)

Notes. This is a great program to help learn the notes on a scale.

Helpful tool. Very useful tool for learning to sight read. Love being able to practice anytime and anywhere. Have the same type of program on my computer attached to my keyboard which is great but not always convenient for practice like this.

Fantastic!!. This is really helping me. I have tried other apps but find this one the most helpful. I especially like how they make you distinguish high notes to lower ones. Hence a C can be the middle C, or the high/ low C, etc. I have been doing it off and on for a few weeks now and see my improvements :) Awesome app!

Joey. I used to play classical and modern tunes but it has been so long I didn't remember very many keys on the keyboard. With this simple beginning, I am quickly refreshing my memory. It's really quite fun! Can't wait to actually play a tune.

Great way to practice. I like how you enter the answers on the piano keys rather just the note names, which is not nearly as helpful. Its gets me competitive to see my score improve, which is great because sight reading practice can be rather mundane

Works great. Have been using for 3 months and I've learned how to sight read and stay sharp using this app every day. It works if you use it. Don't use it and you loose it!! Easy to use and challenges me to try harder.

Very flexible!. The settings (on the pay version) allow a lot of flexibility. I like being able to see the full keyboard when practicing. I can turn on the key titles for my young son, increase or decrease the frequency of flats & sharps. I can increase or decrease the range of notes to practice (large for me, small range for my son). This is the best sight reading app that I have found (and I have tried several).

Finally learning bass clef. A friendly little program that has everything you need for finally getting the sight reading down. I play harp, so don't need sharps and flats, but I was going nowhere fast until I got the drills in this app.

Great app. Get a lot for free. Being force to pick the right octaves is helpful. Much better than just typing the letter of the notes. I'm happy with the app, even if learning this stuff can be so frustrating!

Great for learning to read notes. This is very simple and you get better quickly and can track your progress.

Invaluable for beginners. I am an adult beginner, and have started taking piano lessons recently. Been using this app for the past two weeks, probably every other day. This is an absolutely fantastic app, and is helping me get comfortable with sight reading. Offers a tremendous degree of control to learn in small and manageable steps. For example I started on the first day with just white keys and one octave, and have progressed satisfactorily from there in a relatively short period of time. Highly recommend this app for beginners, and as a side note, also recommend ReadRhythm which is a great rhythm app.

Great to learn to read. Great practice for becoming proficient in sight reading music! The more you practice, the better you get, and you get instant feedback.

Like app, dislike ad. I've really enjoyed this app. Haven't used it in a month or so and when I launched it today I noticed it had an ad. As I already paid for the upgrade a few months ago, I would greatly appreciate the ad being removed. It's not cool to ad a feature like that to those who have previously paid for the upgrade. Please remove it from my app! Thank you kindly for you cooperation in this matter.

The missing link. This is what i have been needing! An interactive app that helps me actually gain speed as i learn the notes both visually and auditorily. Adaptible in range of notes so you can start out with just a few notes at first. Love it. Upgraded from free version within minutes!

Helped me get back on my feet (hands).... I haven't played piano for a while and my sight reading became so terrible...i spent 10 minutes on this and everything started coming back to me!

It's not terrible. The way it clucks at you when you make a mistake is very irritating. And it the tiny keyboard is confusing sometimes. Other than that... It's not terrible!

Good for learning how to read/identify notes. I am a beginner piano student and find identifying notes relatively slowing down my learning and frustrating. Installed this one day ago and finding it quite useful to learn more of the grand staff.

Memory refresher. I have the free version (without ability to adjust settings). Useful in refreshing my memory, decades having passed since I read music. Size of keyboard due to limitations of tablet screen results on one-handed striking, which my brain seems to fine disconcerting. But cannot be helped, I think.

Good free music reading app. This is helping me readily identify the correct pitch. I plan on upgrading to learn more keys in the future, but the free version gives me a very good starting place, and a good picture of what the paid version may be like. I wish more developers would offer free versions of their apps, so I can decide if I'd like to pay money for them or not.

Great refresher. I already know how to play the piano but this has provided me a great refresher for the basic part of the keyboard which is primarily used for melodies. Also, I will use it to speed up my response time and to help my daughter learn the piano. Thanks for a great app.

Simple yet effective. This a very simple set up for wanting to improve sight reading. I've played the piano a long time and never like having to practice sight reading until now- that's why I'm still not good at it. After just having this app a day and using it for a half hour I'm already improved.

Useful. Single note identification is helpful, but I'd like to see chords used as well. Also, I think getting rid of the ads shouldn't be a separate upgrade after the steep cost of enabling the settings. Thanks for the app though.

Could be better. It works, except you are very limited to the section of the keyboard that's visible at one time. Piano Tutor is a much better app at one third the price.

Just what I Need. This app is just what I need. I am pretty good at sight reading for the right hand but quite poor for the left hand. The practice this app allows is a big help.

It Helps. I just started using this app today and I can't seem to stop trying it because the repetition is teaching me so quickly. My family and I are competing with it lol. Great app, I recommend it.

The perfect app for learning to read music. As an adult with a music background, this app makes relearning the notes and places on the staff less painful because its a game rather than a stack of 3x5 cards.

Just what I was looking for. This software was just what I was looking for to learn sight reading on the go. It is easy to use and seems to yield results. I highly recommend. I do wish the free version had all options unlocked, but even the free version is extremely useful.

Very Useful!. Playing a game is a great way to learn fundamentals! This is definitely going to help my piano skills as an adult learner who can't practice enough because of work travel! My iPad is far more portable than a keyboard!!!

Excellent. Ok, if you know how to read music don't buy this app. But if you learn everything by ear and want to learn how to read music this is your app. There is a free version out there. Try it first. It's basic but you will get the idea of how it works. I am still learning but I am improving. It will take a while for me to get through all the lessons but it is a far far better thing I do when I play this than any angry bird could teach me.

Pretty good. Good and simple.. I have only used the basic functions of the free version on ipad. It looks like iphone version limits the keyboard to a smaller section.. I also like the historical plots.. Would be cool if they could integrate some 'guess the key signature testing' both ways , asks you the key or tells you the key and you have to put in the sharps or flats.. And if you could have it quiz you randomly or in the circle of fifths order(help get that into your head) .. If it had those features I think I would actually pay for this... 5-6 bucks just for 'guess this note' feature seems a bit steep..

Great App. This is an excellent app to help students learn the piano/grand staff. The notes are not repeating like so many other apps. The randomness of the notes ensures you do not learn a pattern but the notes themselves. I would have rated this a 5 but the keyboard does not extend to the lowest notes of the F / Bass Cleff. Not really the developer's fault as they only have so much real estate along the side of the iPad. I've never had it hang or experienced any other glitches or bugs.

Great Learning Tool!. This is a great app, 53 years of age with no music back ground, this gives a great experience to learn without even trying!

Another happy adult beginner!. I've only ever played treble clef instruments--clarinet, classical guitar, soprano recorder. Now approaching 60, I decided it was time to study piano. The ingrained habits of a lifetime, however, have been a stubborn barrier to reading the bass clef. This app has been a tremendous help. I even like the off-center middle C, as it forces me to think relationally in a more complex way. Working with a two-octave span means my drills cover most of the notes in the pieces I can play right now. The short sessions mean I can pick up my iPad at odd moments, e.g., standing inline or waiting for an appointment, and put them to good use. The app has enough flexibility to grow with me, and enough simplicity that managing it isn't a pain in the neck.

Pay and pay again. The app is good once they nickel and dime you. Pretty irritating to pay $4.99 to use the settings feature and the ad banner still flashes when the "training" mode is in progress. That is really irritating but you have to pay an additional $.99 to get that to stop. Really?? I would really like the app if I didn't feel like I was raked over the coals for a mere buck.

Effective and Fast. My sight reading has improved tremendously over the months. I just wish the note I hit, B3 for instance, would actually play a B3 instead of a B4 or B5 etc... Maybe I just need to put on headphones? Sometimes it plays what note I hit, randomly it won't. I guess I only care because I would like to try and attain perfect pitch, and be able to name the exact octave of a note upon hearing it. I'm sure others using the app understand... Other than that, this app blows the other sight reading apps outta the water!

Best sight reading app. I bought this to brush up on my sight reading and another 2 apps. This one is by far the best of the three. Fantastic music app. I did some research and a lot of people were very pleased with this app, and for good reason. This is the best of the music sight training apps I have found. I only had the free version for a few minutes before I purchased the full version. This will help you to recognize notes quickly. It has assisted my piano learning in a big way. Highly recommended.

Good product. So far it is proving to be useful. When I'm sitting around with the iPad and I want to study piano but am to lazy to sit at the piano this is a useful tool. I would say (write) that it is worthwhile product.

Music note refreshment without the lessons. This app is for people with basic sight reading knowledge either out of practice or no time to take piano lesson. Fresh or Refresh. It's been years sense I've played. Great for retraining or for beginners with a basic understanding.

Chords. App is good for working ones memory and visual recognition. It would even be better if it included full chords and runs in both treble and base clef. Please do update it...

Great practice tool. Have only used it a short time and I feel more confident with identifying notes, especially in the bass clef where I seem to be weaker.

Works. I've only been using it for 10 minutes,and I'm already recognizing notes faster and better.

Free version. The free version only allows note reading of white keys only: aka key of C. Thus, the free version does not actually offer what is described. If you want the advertised version, you'll have to upgrade: aka buy the actual app.

Sight reading. Great for me, I see a major improvement in a short period of time. Wonderful for practice and immediate recall of notes.

Basic knowledge. I play the free version every morning first thing to slowly educate myself to read all the notes on the Grand Staff. By doing this, I now can easily read the staff, allowing me to focus on my keyboard skills. Great tool for my purposes.

OK. The basic version workswell, just on the 'simple' notes. But having to fork out 5 bux to change settings is a lot( 99c to get rid of fairly unobtrusive ad bar) but good app for learning
