Aaarrggghhhh!!! Messing with a good thing!!. Hey! I’ve been using Clear almost since it first came out (excluding a period when it didn’t play well with iOS). Loved it. Now, I have a couple of complaints. First, the list labels are HUGE!!! Even with the smallest (tiny) font. Please return to the original sizes. Second, it no longer shows number of items in a list. This was invaluable. Put it back, please! Third, swiping down to exit a list now requires swiping almost the entire height of the screen. This is difficult on the larger phones these days (and for us older folks). Thanks for updates but don’t change what worked. Just add the new features.

5 stars but…. I've been using this new iteration of Clear for a couple of weeks. I really like it. But after using it for a couple of weeks although the app is great it cannot be integrated into my personal workflow. The sticking point for me is that it's iPhone only. The way I work I need to have task management and calendars available on every device I use which is iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. The disconnect of always having to use my phone in order to implement this lovely list app and task management app is a bridge too far for me. But I still love the app and if it can work for your personal use case go for it. It's simple and very satisfying It's definitely with regrets that I'm going to discontinue using it. It's just a matter of convenience that also translates into time management

Clear is a Life Changing App!. You have got to download and try this FREE app - it is amazing! I have been using the Clear App since 2012. The new 2.0 version is the best yet. I have downloaded and tested just about every productivity app, and have found Clear to be the easiest to use, most visibly clean to look at, and my daily go to app for all of my to-do items, thoughts, notes & brainstorming. The team of developers are responsive and have done a phenomenal job improving upon an already exceptional app.

An update :-). Thank you for the recent bug fix. As much as I love this app, I had stopped using it due to the bug and because updates were way too infrequent. Frankly I didn’t expect a fix. None of the substitutes I looked at offered near the simple, intuitive and fun interface you all created with CLEAR. You’ve got a gem here that we all love. Please keep polishing it :-) it’s been so long since I started using CLEAR I don’t recall if it was free or subscription. I’d happily pay a subscription fee in exchange for regular updates and to support you.

I have been using Clear for years and I find it indispensable.. I started with a “to do” list and gravitated to keeping all kinds of lists on it. For example, if someone that is important to me mentions something that they would like to have, I start a list with their name and “wants” as the title. For example, “Natalie wants”. When Christmas or their birthday comes around I know what to surprise them with. If I read about some particular lifestyle program that I want to implement, I store it in its own list so that I can give it a fair trial without cutting out something important. When the developer recently upgraded to the new version, my lists disappeared for a couple of days and I was shocked by the amount of important (to me) information that I had stored on this app. I also did not back it up, much to my dismay. Thankfully, my lists reappeared within a couple of days and now realizing how important this little storage system is, I am looking for a way to backup the vital info and cleaning out the things that have basically timed out.

New update makes lists fun!. The new 2.0 update really brings Clear into a special place. It fulfills its primary purpose, but the new personalization and achievements take it to a whole new level. I use Clear everyday and now I enjoy it so much more. It's very easy to use (especially the bottom invisible back button tap) and making lists is actually super fun now. The Clear team should be extremely proud of the app they made, and you can tell it was make with hard work and love. Get this app now and support them through the in-app store, treat yourself to a new fun theme!

Awesome app. Thank you so much for the Dec 22 update. When the app stopped showing what was being typed I was heartbroken. I’ve been using this app since forever ago and figured it had finally died after all these years from the latest iOS update. Then suddenly it started working again and I ran to the App Store and was pleasantly surprised that it’s still being updated after all these years. Talk about fantastic long term support! You guys are great and this is hands down the best todo app ever made.

Too many unnecessary changes…. Loved this app when it first came out. I’ve been using it consistently for years. It was simple, satisfying and to the point. But the recent changes have left me annoyed. Specifically the loss of the list numbers on the right side. That was hugely helpful to see how many items you had left to do. Also, the app feels clunky now, no longer smooth. It’s trying to be to cute. The automatic strike through is annoying. The hidden back button is annoying. The sort of gamifying is annoying. All that being said, I’ll still use it until I find something better. But PLEASE bring back the list numbers on the right, oh and add an option for the basic classic version like it was before.

Why would the developers remove the alarm function?. I was having an amazing time using Clear to get my life in order. It was simple, satisfying, and powerful to handle all of the things I need. For me however, I need all of my lists, alarms, reminders, in one place, ideally in a minimal format. That was Clear for a long time. Then they had an update and the alarm/reminder function for list entries got removed? I’ve searched high and low and can’t find that feature, which pretty much ruins the usability for me. The app became significantly less powerful. While I’d love to recommend this app, and absolutely could upon reentry of that feature, I do not use it anymore as of now. I would also be happy to edit this review to 5 stars if the alarm/reminder feature was re-introduced. Thanks

Works great for my needs. Easy to use and intuitive. I mainly use for shopping lists, to-do lists, and trip packing lists. Clear makes it easy to add, check off, or remove items from lists. Tons of customization options available for free and purchase too. The only feature I’d like added is syncing, which the very responsive developer said they are working on, and my only criticism is the font sizes don’t really match their descriptions well. The scale is just odd, skewing larger than expected.

Good app, just not for me. As a beta tester, I know I won’t actually use Clear because it’s too annoying to unlock all the rewards all over again and wait however long for the shop to have the handful of themes I’m interested in. However, if you’re starting from scratch, and looking for a good, straightforward way to quickly make lists, it’s a very effective tool for such. There are still some finicky bits—I pretty much can’t interact with any items on the bottom of the screen, it’s too busy trying to use the hidden back button. And I’m baffled that it launched without supporting syncing over iCloud. But once those issues get ironed out, a great app for simple lists and reminders. …just not for me, because I cannot bring myself to go through all the junk you have to to unlock rewards a SECOND time. It’s not fun.

Update Takes Some Getting Used To. Technology evolves, and so must we. I will admit to leaving a hasty 1-star review before spending much time with the update. It is one of the first apps I open each morning, so the changes disrupted my routine. However, after making some adjustments and reacquainting myself with the new format, I was able to get back relatively close to the “classic” experience that I have loved for 12 years. The fact that I have been using it for so long on a regular basis is a testament to the necessity, ease of use, and usefulness of the app. I recommend this often and will continue to do so.

Here since the beginning and happy to see it evolve.. I’ve used this since college and even then it was the most intuitive list app I had ever used. But with the most recent update, it has breathed new life into this app. It’s a complete metamorphosis into the BEST list app ever. The previews do not do it justice on how much it has improved. The quality of life updates, the added features and don’t even get me started on the level of personalization you have now. You can change the theme, font, app icon, quotes and even the sound effects! It’s a whole new level than it was before and it’s a joy to use. As someone with severe ADHD this is the best list app to keep me engaged, entertained, and focused. It almost feels like a game to check off everything and organize it. I don’t usually sit down to write reviews but the amount of work the developers have gone into resurrecting this app into its evolved form deserves all the appreciation and praise. Amazing! I’ll continue to use this app for years to come! ♥️

Handy, But With Annoying Operation. Do you create lists with numerous entries that you will re-use week to week? I do, and find it frustrating to use this app. I have a grocery shopping list with multiple items I buy weekly or fairly often. As I shop, I swipe right to check off items I’ve placed in my cart, and the app works fine. The problem occurs when I swipe left to uncheck items for the following week's shopping - after scrolling beyond the items initially displayed, swiping left on on item causes the app to jump to the bottom of the list and forces me to manually scroll all the way back to the top. Works the opposite way if I’m working with items from the bottom of the list. I guess I’ve come to accept this odd behavior, but it’s an issue I wish the developers would fix, or at least provide control over.

fun!. as an AuDHD person, while i hyper fixate and dive deep into researching and finding hidden gems in apps, i rarely maintain focus for any time after i find all the rewards and fallacies. this seemingly simple list maker has kept me coming back and exploring by allowing me to find the methods instead of putting them on a dish and sliding over to me. there was some frustration with the different unexpected style of learning, but once i realised how it was keeping me interested i was hooked. the colour schemes and personalisation available via rewards and challenges, makes my artist heart squeal with joy!

Unsung Hero. I’ve had this app since it was a weekly Starbucks freebie (yes, that long) and it’s still the most useful productivity app I’ve ever come across. It’s simple but effective. It helps me prioritize tasks and keep track of long term vs short term needs with different lists. The color gradient is a subtle yet effective tool for my brain, which I would even have thought of. I tend to get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start on my mental lists. Being able to drag items around to prioritize and visualize where I am is so helpful.

Ten something years later, it’s still my favorite…. I’m shocked this has so few reviews because I’ve literally used this off and on for ten years & nothing compares. The elegance and simplicity of the design are particularly useful for anyone with ADD/ADHD. How many times a day do you reach for your phone to do one thing and then found yourself doing something else, only to ask yourself ‘what was I about to do?’ When I use this consistently, I find myself doing that far less. Paper lists are great for ADD folks, but you have to keep up with a pen and paper, whereas we always have our phones on us. Swiping complete on this and seeing the completed items is particularly useful for grocery lists as another reviewer mentione, as well as recurring to do’s. It’s also the closest you can get in the digital realm to the satisfaction & sense of progress of crossing something out on a physical list. Before my children too over the iPads, I loved the ability to sync across devices. I’ve come to appreciate its visual simplicity even more as I reach the dreaded ‘where are my reading glasses?’ era of my life. I am so appreciative that they’ve done the update to keep this app alive as our devices continue to evolve. Thank you to the creators of this app and to those who keep it rolling 💞

Longtime user. Been using Clear a long time, mostly for grocery lists, but it’s expanded over time to other things. I like the recent addition of headings within lists, but wish they were more dissimilar visually - different colored font, or maybe have the list items indented? Another quirk of mine is that I want to keep crossed out items, particularly on my grocery list so I can re-add staples without having to type them again. But I’ve accidentally wiped out all the crossed out items several times! Would like to be able to undo that. And w/regards to headings, it would be nice to have the crossed out items stay under their headings - but that’s probably too much to ask…

Wish I hadn’t let this one update.. The new design is clunky and not as customizable as they claim (why allow me to set a font size if it’s not going to be uniformly applied across the app?) and the pointless animations slow everything down. The new philosophy seems to be about making the app a “sustainable” business venture through microtransactions rather than focusing on what works. I can’t sync across devices or even see how many items are in a list, but there is a rotation of fonts and themes available for purchase in the store—and I’m encouraged to buy them all now before they vanish. For years I’ve loved using this app because of its quick, simple interface. Now, if I were to continue to use Clear at all (I don’t intend to), it would be in spite of its slow, ugly interface. I wish I had never let this app update.

Used to be my go to list app… used to be. I’ve been using this app for years and it always was my go to list maker/reminder, it helped me sort and organize my thoughts, with Clear by my side life was a great. Then, like a crummy unfaithful spouse, in a foul swoop everything changed with the most recent update. Font sizes made no sense, categories were lost, picking up where I left off - forgettaboutit jack. It was as if the app had unapologetically met someone new, moved on, and my needs no longer mattered. To top it off, the app would not sync with the cloud, list items I added today would disappear overnight and my thoughts cast aside. It seems this app is long gone with its new lover, speeding down the street taunting me as I stand in driveway in my robe and fuzzy slippers getting the morning paper. Darling please, if you have any love left in your heart please come back, we were such a great pair, organizing the world (ok, yes I confess, perhaps I’ve been selfish, it was always my world…). With your help I could accomplish anything, marking off each glorious achievement with the swipe of my finger… WT*!!!

Thank you for the update!! This app is essential!. I have been using the Clear app since 2012. I don’t expect it to do everything but for keeping quickly entered lists, it’s perfect. Shopping lists, gift ideas, quick to do lists, etc. Best thing about the app is it’s elegant simplicity! Once you know the gestures which are all pretty easy, they’re second nature to use and mostly swipes, so easy one-handed. One of my favorite features is that I can bring back a completed item with a swipe, so when I’m picking of groceries, I can see what I bought before and quickly throw some of my staple items back on the list. The app broke with iOS 16 and I desperately pleaded for an upgrade (along with everyone else) and finally gave up after months of waiting and switched to using Notes (good but not perfect). I’m thrilled you guys have fixed the app! This app may be simple but it is one of the best.

Apple Watch version please!!. I want to keep using Clear exclusively but I also simply need to be able to navigate to an item on my watch just to mark it complete (and please include a watchface complication, even if it’s just a logo launcher). I would subscibe or in-app purchase this functionality. My app Review: Clear is the most elegant to-dos app yet designed. It has stood the test of time. The design is so clean it’s practically art. That yummy-on-the-eyes form follows its function and leaves out everything you don’t need. You can plan entire projects within while also having a main regular to-do screen. None of that ability is complex to behold. Perfect app.

Writing this in hopes of a fix…. Firstly, I don’t want to bash this app. I’ve been faithfully using this for years, long after support for it had all but ceased. Even when updates were sparse, I continued to use it because no other app had made lists so simple and intuitive. When I heard it was getting a major update, I was so excited for a fresh coat of paint. I’d say overall, outside of a few bugs that I’m sure are being worked on, it’s a much more enjoyable experience. That being said, the most recent update re-added badges for each list, but opted for a total list count instead of a count for things you had scheduled that day (as in the previous version). My primary use for the app is as a to-do list, so a daily count of things I need to do is very useful. I’m hoping that can be patched but perhaps I’m in the minority of people who use the app in this way. Otherwise, excellent work from developers who seem to listen to feedback from their users.

Worth the wait!. Clear is one of my favorite apps that I have used probably most days since 2012. I was so happy when the 2.0 rewrite began though I was worried that it may not be able to live up to the whimsy and utility of the original. Having used the new version for the past few days, though, I see those fears were unfounded and am absolutely loving the new version. The app is so fluid and simple and beautiful. I do miss some of my previous themes like the Temple Run and Letterpress ones but Heatmap is great too. I want to ensure that Clear remains financially viable for the devs - hopeful about the theme shop but consider tips or a yearly subscription (saying this as a subscription-hating person but Clear gets a unique exception from me) if needed. Thank you for all pf the great work!

I thought this would be simple. I’m 60 years old, been using Apple Reminders for years but the app is incredibly buggy on my phone, to the point it’s really not usable anymore. I wanted a simple Reminders app that was like Reminders, where I could set shopping lists, daily and weekly reminders in categories. Many popular reminders apps don’t have categories like Food shopping. This one sounded like what I wanted. I just bought it and am so frustrated already! Ot has one list now “personal” but there is nothing that says how to add a new list/category. No support that I can see either. The swipes and pinches are confusing why can’t these apps use the simple interface Reminders does? I am desperate for my old Reminders app (started to have problems after an upgrade 3 years ago and no one can help me fix it). This was not it! I don’t understand how to use it and wasted $5.

Clear 2 is a treat for my ADHD!. I’m 1 more person who’s used Clear off/on for the last 10 years, and seeing an article about its relaunch piqued my interest. Upon re-opening my old friend Clear, I’m BLOWN AWAY with the “usual” interface … with sounds? I open the main menu by tapping the screen’s bottom, and I see new options visible to my 55yo eyes & lifelong ADHD can see … and I start to comprehend all the customizations I’ve heard about. Kudos to the team for an update that’s as fresh & intuitive as the initial app!

Great app, and developers worked hard to restore my lists after update. I love Clear and have been using it as my primary note app for many, many years. However, updating the app deleted almost all of my saved notes. Don’t update until the developer fixes this!! If I can’t get my notes back, it’s really going to hurt (and I’ll start using a different app obviously)… But I’m optimistic and will change my rating to 5 stars if/when they fix this and restore my notes. Update: the development team responded to my query literally within minutes and worked with me off and on over the past week to restore access to my saved notes. I really appreciate their excellent communication, attention, and efforts, and I’m excited to continue using this brilliant product!

Aesthetically stimulating!! Functionally beautiful!!. I absolutely love this app. The development behind it is completely beautiful. It's gesture-fun and the developers kept a simple scheme to it. A perfect example of form and function with a very nice minimalist design. This app and Apple's also beautifully designed Reminders app are the most used to-do applications on my iPhone. This app defines what Apple design philosophy is, and this group executed beautifully. Now all the need is some push notifications that include location and time based notifications and they are set. Hopefully they have a innovative and fun way of implementing it. That'll get them the fifth star.

One of my most used apps!. I didn’t realize how much I used this app until after updating to IOS 16 and the bugs showed up. It would crash easily and it didn’t look like an update was coming because it’d been so many years since one had come out. I tried other apps and nothing was as easy to use and helpful to me as this app so I figured out how to work around the bugs and made do. Now that they’ve updated it though it’s back to 100% functionality with the best UI out there. Thank you to the developers!!!!

What happened?. I was initially excited to see that one of my all time favorite apps that had seemingly been long abandoned by its devs was getting a refresh… but the new app seems to have abandoned the minimalism, speed, and simplicity that made it so great in favor of some third rate Etsy store live-laugh-love aesthetic and spong-y UI that feels slower, more complicated, and cartoony. The dropping of syncing between my devices however is the real death knell. It’s gone from my bread-and-butter essential app to a half-baked colorfully frosted cupcake. I’m hoping this is just an artifact of rearchitecting the backend and hiring the wrong designer and at some point this app will return to its former glory and brutalist efficiency. Why is it so hard for anyone to build a simple lightning fast to-do app that doesn’t try to be a GTD platform or whatever weird thing Clear 2.0 is trying to be?

Great for ADHD, with one Caveat. Fluid and fast, just like the old Clear used to be. Perfect for an ADHD person like myself, allowing me to quickly get down thoughts as they come to me before they slip away again. The large variety of app icons, themes, sound packs, and quote packs available both as unlockable rewards and as purchasables in the in-app shop are great for ADHDers as well, as we thrive on novelty and stagnate without it. At $2.99 an item though the store can add up quick! My only issue with the app is the choice by the devs to again not include some way to make a list that can repopulate on a regular basis (daily, weekly, when completed, etc). This means if you have a routine that you repeat the same way each and every time, there is no easy way to just populate a list with set of pre-generated items and start checking them off. You have to either uncheck and reorganize everything you previously did (tedious and antithetical to the app’s design) or just retype a new list exactly like the old one and go from there (again, tedious and antithetical to the app’s purpose and design). That said, there is a workaround for this. What I do is type a list in Apple notes, then copy/paste it in into Clear Lists. The pasted items generate perfectly into the list I need each and every time.

This app helps me every day!!!. I am so grateful for the app’s repair after the iso 16 update. I’ve checked daily to see if Clear was going to be fixed and did not find that assuring. In reading your note about the anguish also affecting the developer, I now understand and appreciate you even more. From the lack of information about the effort to get the app operating, it was my expectation that Clear was just going to be abandoned. I now understand that you were working furiously to get it back in place. I use this exclusively on my iPhone and it works so well to not only provide a current to-do list but also my longer term memory for bigger projects to undertake. Once I found this app, I’ve never had to look for something better. It is easy to start with, and from there, add all the complexity you desire. Today’s check of Clear, finding it magically working, has me feeling grateful enough to write in thanks to the wonderful person or crew that fixed it!!!!!!

Underrated. People leaving negative reviews on this app are complete dummies. I’ve been using this app everyday for YEARS, and I couldn’t be more thankful to the developers. And regarding the new updates, once again, people are complete dummies. Baseless complaining when anything changes from what they’re used to. The new update is functionally better in every single way. It’s more responsive, customizable, and “juicy”. I’ve never left a review on anything. Just get the app already, you won’t regret it.

Simply the simplest, simply the best.. Been using this app for around a decade and it’s always been there and use, never gave it much thought but so many apps have come and gone, but clear has remained in my dock as a critical daily tool. I’ve used this app from large projects to small daily todos, from shopping lists to entire home remodeling plans, and it’s been just what I need, no extra features that end up being mostly noise in the UI and just the stuff I need, organizing things in order of priority from top to bottom and reminders if I need them… it’s the perfect list app.

Favorite iPhone App. I’ve been using Clear daily since version one (how many years ago?) and have been using the beta since it was first available. This is absolutely one of the most enjoyable and satisfying apps I’ve ever used - wonderful UI and interactions. I’m so glad the devs kept at it and released version 2. It’s better than ever. I really enjoy all the customizations. I also have high hopes for the revenue model. Some have complained that the $2.99 for a customization is a bit steep, but come on. This app has been out and free for over a decade now. And most of us spend nearly twice that on a cup of coffee regularly. I’ve already bought several customizations, and I hope others will see the value and continue to support this app. Again, I can’t say enough about how much I love Clear. It has made me a life long “lister”. Here’s to the next decade plus…

Best List App. I’ve used this app for years and it’s my one of my favorite apps I own full stop. The UI is sleek and useful and makes being productive fun and easy. You can make lists and set reminders, my only ask is that you could set repeating reminders or set a schedule. Right now you can only set it for one day and time and you will have to reset every time if it’s a task like taking the garbage out or watering plants. But for what it’s made for, Lists, it does it best and I’m super happy with it.

YES.. I remember downloading the original Clear years ago. It was the first third party app that really blew me away. (I remember Mailbox, too!) I was a beta tester for years and can’t live without it. I use it everyday for notes (using the different heading sizes) to creating throwaway list of things I have to do in the moment (adhd anyone)? I’m so happy the public version is finally here! It runs smoothly, the UI is snappy and gorgeous to look at. I love all the customization options. Thanks for bringing it back!

Fun :-). There are dozens of to-do and list apps in the App Store and I’ve tried and used a lot of them. There’s something about Clear that makes it stand apart from the rest. I’ve been testing it for quite a while, initially just out of curiosity, but I’ve grown attached to it over time. It’s a simple (and yes, “clear”) list making app and a to-do nag, but it has personality, and so do the devs. Kind of like the iMac was to the beige boxes back in the time of the second coming of Steve Jobs. You can certainly use a beige box if you want to, but wouldn’t you prefer something with a little attitude? That’s what Clear is - it’s a clean, simple list making/to-do app… but with attitude 🤘 Do yourself a favor - give it a try. You might find out (as I did) that there’s more than meets the eye!

Forever My Go-To for To-Do. I have been a loyal Clear user from the day it launched. And with the recent update release, it still has all the simplicity that I originally fell in love with and more. The different ways I can customize each list, the changes in icon which is fun and delightful, the shop that has new fun stuff I can browse with even daily freebies. The developers I fell in love with continue to deliver the no brainer, simple, elegant go-to app for all my to-dos. Thank you for simplifying my life and keeping me efficient!

Thank you for the Dec 22’ update!. I LOVE this app. I’m reaching a point in my life where I need to write down most everything or I’ll forget. I use this app daily, several times a day, for work, for personal organization, even just musings that I don’t want to forget or look into later. I was worried updates were over and with the new iOS update that shut the app down every time you made an entry, my heart sank thinking that was the end for this app. So glad it’s not. It’s easy to use, ready to jot down quick ideas, can organize those lists, and do everything other note apps make additional steps for. Someone like me, just needs lists. That’s it. I need to see my day item by item and organize them by importance - and I’m golden. Thank you again!

Amazing. Simple. Smooth.. I have been using this app since I got my first iPhone which was the iPhone 4 at the time. It works so cleanly and smooth. I like how it isn’t cluttered with a lot of extra features I don’t need. I admit I looked for another app at some point when there was a bug and no update for a while, but I couldn’t find anything I liked as much, even with the bug. I was so happy when the latest update/bug fix finally came out. It’s so easy to use. I don’t want to use anything else.

Awesome!. In an overpopulated market of productivity apps all claiming to be your final all-in-one solution, Clear is a diamond in the rough! It stands the test of time and proves to again find innovation in a stale environment. Version 2 is no disappointment… give it a try! You won’t mind its simplicity while staying true to the concept of being a pleasure to use. I don’t know if/when all the beta features will make it into the app (for instance list sharing), but Clear will still be in my favorites list nonetheless.

Best To-Do App. I’ve been using Clear for many years, and I was super excited to hear that they came back to remaster it. It’s a free app, and all of the advanced features are free as well. The only features available for purchase are cosmetic (themes, app items, sounds, etc) which is totally fine by me. The app encourages you to use it and for someone like me, I love being able to customize my organizational experiences. You can use themes to separate your lists and the cosmetics update and rotate very often so there’s always new content. Really love the team and they’re quick to provide user feedback. 10/10, thanks team.

Simple is Best. Amazing app that’s stood the test of time for more years than most apps last. Thank you for making this true lifesaver! Has been essential in helping to clear my mind and prioritize the most important things, feel so much more productive when I make this a part of my day. Developer is super responsive and helpful! Only suggestion is to change the price on purchases to 0.99, I think people will be more likely to support the app at that price. For $2.99 I’d expect a whole theme package, not individual components.

Ugh. I’ve loved this for 12 years. I’ve loved this app for twelve years. I was excited about new updates. I opened it and the text is gigantic and I can see way fewer of my lists listed because it’s so big. It actually bothers my eyes. This was a paid-for app and I see no way to go back to what it was previously. This is wildly disappointing. I won’t use it the way it looks currently. I imagine it could be helpful for someone that has visual impairments, but for me personally, it’s not. I had a good run with this app. Sorry they’ve made these changes. * I went to personalize the font, selected “tiny” and it’s still larger than before. I think it’s also a color issue. My phone is at half brightness and it’s bothersome to my eyes.

So glad it’s back!. I had been using Clear for my shopping lists for years and was heartbroken when it stopped working after an iOS update. I lived without it for a few months until I just couldn’t stand the other app that I had installed to replace it. I checked back in the App Store and was extremely pleased to find the latest version of Clear that is 100% compatible with my iPhone - now also running the latest iOS version. What was already the easiest to use list app is now easier still with the newer features and the iCloud integration with my iPad is spectacular. I don’t EVER want to do without Clear again.

Truly horrible update. Used this app all the time happily for years! Then the update got rid of syncing between devices which is absolutely one of the main things that made it useful. Apparently the creators feel this wasn’t a needed feature and that somehow syncing was already not working? It worked just fine for my family before. They suggested just taking screen shots to share. Why don’t I just write a list on paper and take a picture of it to share then? I could have any beautiful font and pencil color I want for free, and the same functionality. That would be as stupidly backward as this insanely “updated” app. In addition, it’s so much slower when adding items than it was before, with this annoying stuttering delay every time you pull down for a new entry. I’ve found zero new positives for the update. Who asked for all this pointless aesthetic drivel, half of which costs extra money? I just wanted a functioning list app and now this isn’t one :(((

Gone Paperless. I’ve been using Clear for years, but was still addicted to paper lists, too. When the developers recently broke a long hiatus from updates and did a fantastic job of making all the right improvements and adding new useful features, I no longer feel the need for paper lists. I’m using Clear not only for all my lists, but as a calendar for keeping track of (and setting reminders for) appointments and events. I like Clear because it’s simple and intuitive, but also capable and versatile. Unlike most apps, features you don’t need/want are out of sight and don’t create complexity for the basic user. The ability to highly personalize the UI using a huge library of color themes and icons makes it really fun to use. Try it - you’ll like it!

I used to love this app, but the latest update is garbage. This used to be my go to app for lists for close to a decade but the latest update is another example of people making updates for the sake of updates. The UI is now “redesigned from the ground up” for no apparent reason with font sizes and colors that would make my grandma proud (and are on the verge of giving me a seizure). My existing lists were reshuffled, random new lists were added into the mix, and the colors, regardless of the theme you choose, are garish. And, again, what problem were the developers trying to address? Now the app just makes me sad and a little angry.

Essential for ADHD folks like me. Font size issue has been fixed with the latest update and devs are very responsive and seem to genuinely care about making the app better. Some of the changes have been an adjustment but ultimately I still enjoy using this app and use it every day. Highly recommend for anyone with ADHD like myself. I like getting thoughts out of my brain and into Clear because if I don’t I immediately forget about them. Really helps keep things in order and looks pretty and I can change the themes based on my mood and now assign different themes to different lists individually.

Apple Watch Version. Been using Clear for years and love it, Any chance of an Apple Watch compatibility?

Awesome people. Thank you Clear People! The fix is in and it’s working perfectly. Best todo app on the planet. Love your work. Appreciate your care.

Missing functionality and watch app missing. Hi i recently paid for your app i read the ad you guys posted but unfortunately i dint find it working on apple watch.. 2 nd most important point i downloaded the todo list to keep few task as daily and i expected this app has a repeat loop for some tasks I could not find any way to set a list of task on daily repeat loop i can only set them once as per the calendar So if u guys can make up these to points i will have u guys 5 stars and i will ask my team to download this app as well plz give the update asap Thanks in advance 🙏

Your update wiped all my lists. Your update wiped all my lists

Great, simple and functional app. A really useful application for basic organizing, especially for forgetful types like me so I am rightly giving it five stars. In future I'm hoping that they add the option to have another level of lists (ability to create lists within lists) i.e. make a list school work, then have due Friday and within that section list the work due on Friday. Hint hint much, lol Thanks for giving my iPod that much more organizational power :)

Great app, but iCloud Drive syncing undependable. I consider Clear to be the best todo list and tracking app that I have used! While I have used it, I used it on my iPhone, my iPad, and my Macs. It is the simplest, easiest app of its kind to use! Sad to say though, I have had to stop using Clear because after the introduction of ICloud Drive, the syncing between my devices is so sporadic that I can no longer depend on it to be done in a timely fashion amongst all devices. What troubles me the most about this is that my other 10 or 12 apps that use iCloud drive work just fine, so I do not understand why the folks who maintain Clear cannot do so as well. During repeated reports of this problem to the developers, I cooperatively tried every recovery methodology that they suggested; all to no successful/continuous remedy of my reported problems. Clear developers: when you get iCloud Drive working properly, then I will be back because as I say, the Clear app is the best todo list app out there so all you have to do is get your iCloud Drive syncing working properly and consistently for me to use it again.

Near-on perfect. Loving the app, thought I'd blow 99c for the hell of it and give it a crack. Usability is great. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to us reviewers that are asking you NOT allow dates, reminders, repeats etc etc. Like someone said, there are plenty of apps that do that. The whole point of this app is to have something that you can jump in, type in "Email Bob", jump out and it's done. It's what it DOESN'T do that sets it apart from other apps and that's the reason I bought it. One suggestion: when I tap on a blue list to open it, I find I am constantly opening the 'edit' bit instead of opening the list. It would be great to make the majority of the blue rectangle respond by opening the list and only a small (icon-ed maybe) section to the left to edit the list name.

My absolute #1 one app!. Clear has lived on my iPhone home page Dock for over ten years and with this most recent major rewrite it has become even better and more powerful. Life is busy, attention spans are short and information comes at you faster than you can deal with. Having the ability to quickly create multiple lists that can be seamlessly moved and reordered, shared with colleagues and family, makes Clear totally indispensable. Its user interface is still highly innovative, easy and enjoyable to use. If you are looking for the best ToDo list app in the store then this is it. I would gladly pay an annual subscription however amazingly this app is free. The personalisation options seem limitless and I have easily now found the perfect layout for my own purposes. Give it a try. Highly recommended!!

Great App, some improvements necessary. Love the App. Very easy to use and intuitive. Needs a big improvement. Please introduce a type of Master list. This master list would then allow the user to tag certain times in different folders so that they could also appear on the Master list. This would be a mirroring of items in other folders (not a duplication in terms of having to enter the item again). It would allow the user to have a Master list that they can focus on, say for today's execution. Each item (rectangular display bar) in all folders, including this Master folder could have a small shaded section on the right hand side that you can touch and it asks you whether to share with Master list. Similar approach for the items in the Master list except that the message would be to turn off the sharing. So, the same item could be essentially in two places. Once executed the task would be removed from both locations. This feature would stop the user from having to search through multiple folders to see what items at the top level need to be executed. Thanks.

Features that I had…gone. It’s pretty but now I’ve got less themes, less sounds, and where the hell are the reminders?!?! Edit: bunch of these are back, although themes for anyone with light sensitivity / photophobia are very limited. And by that I mean, most themes were not too bright before, now nearly all of them are unsuitable. App icons: mine is stuck. I know I have changed it due to notifications on my Apple watch but no change on my phone. Text size: today it randomly changed to enormous old people text size. It’s easy to read, esp if I’m 75, but now I gotta work out how to shrink them 😒 Sounds: limited Also- reminders and adding new tasks, very very clunky. I like the multiple task selection but these other important functions are “meh clunk clunk clunk” on a UI level Dangerously close to dropping to one star

0.5GB. Half a gig for a todo app is a joke

Used to work better. This app used to work better. Now the list items are hard to move up or down, when pressed and held it takes me outside the list to the menu of list titles. And when I try to reorder the titles of my lists it takes me out to the app menu. It’s also harder to add a timer to a list item.

Fantastic! And with a few tweaks.... Love this app! I use it every day and have done for many months: from long term goals to temporary lists I might need for just a few minutes. iCloud syncing works well between iOS and OSX; though sometimes it inexplicably turns off and asks to be re-enabled (I haven't lost anything once they re-sync, though). Very aesthetically pleasing. Two features would be welcome to me: 1. The ability to nest lists within one another (e.g. Shopping>personal/work/long-term) 2. Select list/lists to show in Notifications Center without needing to set a reminder; and be able to compete tasks from the Centre (say, by ticking a box on the right of the item ('agenda+ | calendar & reminder widget' does this really well). So a new menu in the settings layer where you can select which lists to show in the center would probably do the trick. One final thing which would be nice but not necessary: different themes for each list as desired. This would work well if you could nest lists within one another. Overall I love this app, and as stated I use it very regularly. Hopefully you guys appreciate the constructive criticism and the praise :) Keep up the great work!

Simple = brilliant. Finally a great to-do list app in the app store. I don't understand all of these people that are complaining about no date or note features, that is what seperates this app from all the others, its so simple. It's simplicity is what makes it so brilliant, so many to-do list apps become so arduous that making a to-do list should be on your to-do list. That is not the case with this app and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants something smart and practical.

Great in its simplicity!. Use it for a lot if things... Work and personal. Really satisfying when you tick an item off!! More satisfying than any other list app out there. Love it! Would prefer if somehow you could sequentially add items down in the list without having to go back to the list itself or add upwards... More logical when adding lots of items to go downwards. Can you please make an iPad version that syncs together with iPhone/other devices. Thks

Black Screen. After latest update, there is now just a black screen when opening the app. Literally nothing. All previous notes gone. Cool update bro…

A gorgeous and well thought out app. Clear does one thing and one thing only, it helps you make and maintain simple to do lists. But this simplicity is perhaps its greatest feature. It doesn't try to distract you with anything else and every little interaction the app presents to you has obviously been painstakingly thought out and iterates on relentlessly. Effortlessly simple, beautifully polished, it's quickly made its way to my home screen.

Weird update. As a long time user I have mixed feelings about this update. It’s nice that you’re supporting Clear again and have fixed some bugs but the new UI has issues: 1. The “juicy” animations are nice the first few times but they’re too slow. The navigation needs to be snappy 2. Setting a timer on a task is now much less intuitive (pull all the way to the right, it took me a while to find it). If I don’t pull far enough I mark the item as complete and it disappears down the bottom of the list. Frustrating. Why not a little clock icon to tap? 3. If I shake the phone to undo, instead of reverting my last competed item, it adds a new item at the top of the list with the text “Demand”. Weird bug. Why not briefly show an “Undo” action at the bottom after completing or deleting an item? 4. You’ve removed a useful gesture: swipe left while editing to clear all the text. Why? That was useful It just feels like you’re trying to “fix” UI interactions that weren’t broken to begin with

Overhyped and Glitchy.. RealMac software have been around for a long time, with above-average but not top-tiering Mac Software. But unfortunately, the overhype behind this app has come around to kick them in a painful spot. Pretty User Interface is pretty much the only "new feature" this app offers to users. They manage to pull this off, but the gesture use is too heavily laden, and they often do not work on my iPhone 4. Swiping to create a new list or item often glitches the app. The keyboard does not show and I am often forced to close the application from App Switcher and try again. Bottom line: Save your money and use Reminders that shipped with iOS 5. This app also charged me twice.

Can we go back to how it was?. I LOVED the old version. The recent update has me considering abandoning after what must be 10 years. I dislike the fonts and cheesy animations. It was a designer app now it’s more Comic Sans than Gotham.

new update takes 10 seconds to delete a list. Finally, after months of the new update not even launching thinking that I lost my data, it finally works. Except that now it takes 10 seconds or so to delete a list, and it takes a second to delete an item. Seriously, did someone take over this list app and replace it with a shinier but crappier version?? I sure hope the original developer isn’t part of this redesign, because that is truly embarrassing

New “version” is worse 👎🏻. If it ain’t broke? Had this app since day one and use it every day. It was perfect, then they abandoned it for a long time and it was buggy. It was fixed in Dec 2022, and that should have been it, done. 2024 and the long-awaited “upgrades” are absolutely pointless. I have no doubt that they are a simply using a guised pathway to making the user pay more in some way. Wait for it…

Good to see you back…. One of my favourite apps of all time from the golden era! Downloaded this over ten years ago and still love it. It never synced with my iPad at the time, but I didn’t care. I really hate subscriptions (yes, I know all the reasons why they exist) and think they’ve ruined the App Store experience, so I rarely visit it anymore, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a version update for Clear recently. For me, the best days on the App Store were back when Clear first arrived. The store was well set out and wasn’t a convoluted mess like it is now, and you could still buy 99% of apps outright. Saying that, I would be perfectly fine to pay for upgrades or maintenance every now and then to help support the developers. I know there would be a few customers who would jump up and down about it “when they’ve paid already”, but it could be a good solution in the long run. Think of it this way: if you buy a car, every now and then it needs a service. Same goes for an app. Anyway, well done.

Ruined. I loved this app I used it all the time. The latest update ruined it. There is now vast quantities of wasted space between lines of text, which means you can see so much less at one time. You have no control over the size of text in each layer of lists. For example, if you set tiny font, you get a tiny font in the final list, but the list above that is a larger, bold font. I hate the updates.

10 years on and still can’t do without it. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for an app, but with the new update I had to. I can replace every app including my banking apps, but can’t do without Clear, not even exaggerating. Plenty of others have tried creating a “To Do” list app including big names like Microsoft & I have tried almost all of them you can name, none comes even close in clarity & intuitiveness. Not cluttered by “extra features” and not hindered by lack of capability, this is the one app you need to tame to your many lists and have them under your finger tips when need them. I’ve been using it for so many years and was really upset to see diminishing support, but now the support is back! only complain I have is, please let us pay you to keep the support going! I’ll be more than happy to pay for every new version once a year. For now I just purchased all your sound packs (although I don’t use sounds) as my way of saying thank you and to support the team. cheers!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION. Just downloaded the latest update, and ALL my list have vanished! You get a new how-to use screen, no way to access your previous lists. Nothing in archive. No way to retrieve a backup. Years of notes and numbers GONE!!

Putting the excitement back into getting things done!. Not only is Clear a focused to-do list app, it also has an almost video game level of excitement to the interface. At first the purely gesture based interface is a bit alien. You look for model dialogs and check boxed. But there is none of those d fashioned interface ideas in this app. Like a good video game, once you learn the controls it becomes instinctive, fluid and very direct to use. Be warned, all your existing will begin to feel dated!

Updated thanks you guys. Thanks now text work’s again with IOS16.3.1 thank you so much the app’s been a fundamental part of my organisation for over a decade! Kudos team

Have always loved this app. Loved this app when I got it when it was very first launched. And can’t fault the changes and updates that have happened and also love this newer shinier version.

Ahhhh. 10 YEARS AGO…..Yes, this app is a breakthrough for me, a little frustrating at first, but once you get used to the radically different interface it becomes the easiest todo organiser I've ever tried. A longtime satisfied rapidweaver user, this app does not disappoint, thanks realmac. TODAY…. 10 years on and I’m thrilled to see this app finally being re-released. I love the Font Size options, and everything you are doing, but like many others, my only gripe is the discontinued SYNC capabilities. Using the Mac desktop enabled me to manage a vast array of lists, cutting and pasting or dragging and dropping list items or complete lists. I, for one, would be happy to pay 💰 for Syncing across devices, even without any of the other improvements you’ve made. Perhaps add a PAID TIER, the provides robust syncing functionality, Maybe polling the current and previous users to find out if they’re willing to pay would reveal a lot of people with the same attitude as me 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Exactly what I've been searching for. I bought 'Stripes N&W' thinking it was the best of the bunch for quick creation of stuff to note and do etc etc Then I saw MacWorld's gems for 2012, of which Clear was listed as one. So, I HAD to check it out. And I'm so glad I did. Wow! The only word to explain it for me. Wow! OK. So a few more to be helpful to others: simple. Colourful. Versatile. Listable. Changeable. Fast. Wonderful. If you're looking for an app that allows you to quickly note down a brief 1-5 word reminder or to do, within lists, like work, personal, shopping etc which is simple to work and understand, this is it, period!

Simple & Fast. Really nicely done. Simple, fast, intuitive and elegant. Perfect for list making on the go, very quick to make add, delete and reorder items. It's not feature rich, but that's not the point. I use this app everyday. A no brainier for $0.99. The only feature I would like to see include would be a 'share' list option. So that I could send the list to other people with this app or as a text file via email.

Great comeback. Have used the older clear for years and while beta testing have seen how passionate the developers and team are on this new one. Many unlocks to be found and purchased for a very small amount. Needless to say it’s a great app and will be supported for many years.

Almost.... I've been waiting for this for weeks. Now it's here and, well, I'm disappointed. It tries so hard to be simple that it fails at being practical. For example, I like to keep my checked items at the bottom of the list (shopping list items etc.) but if I swipe up on the screen too vigorously, the checked items list clears completely with no option to undo. Useless if all you want to do is quickly scroll to the bottom of a list. There are a few other counter-intuitive aspects which makes the app a little too "twitchy" to be used on the run. A few settings options to disable some features would be perfect.

Great Product Now Getting Love. Was great before. Now is awesome. Many thanks to the dev(s)!

Very slick but needs task-deferral to keep your mind "Clear". The creators of Clear have made something that feels like a natural extension of your mind! - the UI is impressive... ...but they forgot that to keep our minds "Clear" (uncluttered) we need a TODO list that is also uncluttered - and to stay uncluttered without worrying that you'll forget important things you need to be able to DEFER tasks so they won't bother you until later. Take a look at what the "Orchestra" guys have done in their awesome new "Mailbox" app and you'll see what I mean... and I reckon that Clear's developers could do it even better. Hey guys - forget the feature requests for "reminders/alerts" - task deferral is something that would turn Clear into a totally killer App.

Perfect to-do app for me. It seems people seem to either "get" Clear or not. Those that do seem to love it. I do, and I do. All the bad reviews appear to be from people who essentially want a different app: a full-featured to-do app like all the other to-do apps out there. Personally I never found one that worked for me until Clear came along. I love its simplicity, and the pleasurable interface. Yes, it's just a list ... exactly. A really usable and even fun list. If they were to develop an iPad version I would hope that it could sync over iCloud ... but it's just fine without an iPad version. As for reminders and nested tasks and all the rest of that rot, for me Clear is better for the lack of them.

Absolutely awful update. Won’t sync, loss of features and simple functionality, line spacing does not reduce with font size reduction - I could go on but I’m just stunned at how bad an update this is.

6 months of beat-up anda damp squib. Well, we've had 6 months of test pilots and rah rah rah, and for what? An app that looks like it was on something long before a Palm. No instructions, no Undo button. A performance to set an alert. It's so easy to lose an item on a list. I don't need fonts, colours, themes. I just need what I had, an app that works. But it needs an undo facility. Where are the settings? Where is tuition? If I could give half a star I would! Please go back to what we had, at least it worked, and the version before that was even better. So disappointed.

V2 launch not going smoothly, hold off for now (but come back). Clear is a great app, in theory... but at the moment, a lot of stuff is not working. The devs are very responsive on their own forums, and helping people, but they have serious issues currently with sync. Other bugs too, like the iPad app tap areas are wrong. Just wait a month maybe.

Simple, intuitive, essential. I am a list tragic and use lists to organise and track everything. I installed this app when it first launched and use it to maintain everything from To Do and shopping to bills and bucket lists. Never bettered, and so grateful for the update that fixed a recent annoying bug. Love, love, love, Clear! 😊

Still will not sync. Having received an email advising of a (sort of) relaunch of an update to Clear coming soon, I thought I’d try it again. I wondered why I had stopped using it years ago because I totally love the design and the principles of operation. After putting it on one ipad and then on the iphone, I got a message that iCloud sync didn’t; and, yes, I did switch on the sync. Switched sync off and on again and it still won’t work. Ah yes, that’s why I stopped using Clear some years ago – the sync just stopped working. Undaunted, I thought I’ll try it on my iPad Pro too. Well, there seems to be no way that I can even get to the Settings on the iPad Pro to even try to turn on iCloud sync to trial it. Why, does the new installation not have a List labelled “Introduction” and which continues simple instructions? I’ll try the new version when it arrives but the sync had better work.

Why the lost tasks?. What a brilliant app, except... (see below). My Wife and I use Clear extensively and have done since it was a free app when it first launched, often promoting it with friends and colleagues alike. However why do the updates always turn off the iCloud sync? With a move to a new phone my Wife has just lost all her task, while this has also happened to me in the past. We have a simple expectation: that an app update should keep the same settings... not doing this has caused the opposite of what Clear is trying to achieve, worse in fact, as we thought the tasks were simple and safe. #mr&mrsfrustrated

Great Foundation to build upon.. This is a good program but it needs more features added to make it truly wonderful. There are many reasons that people create lists and they often go well beyond short term to-do lists. I would love to see an option to write protect a list, even perhaps individual entries if that isn't overkill. An option that automatically sorts the list into alphabetical order. An "open in" option to send a list as a text file to other programs for editing. There lot's of talk from the developers about continually building this program, but in all the time I've used it I've seen very little. Excellent nicely intuitive program which is not like any other that I know of, and definitely worth owning. I wait in hope though for some more added features.

Most used app. This is my most used app on my iPhone. Have loved it since it was released. Have tried every major to do app but nothing beats the sheer simplicity, functionality and ease of use of this app. It was innovative for its time and hoping the renewed version coming soon will be equally brilliant. Well done team!

Simply the best app for todos. I have used this app for years now. It has proven its worth way beyond the free price. Thanks for keeping it going !

Ruined a Good Thing. The appealing part about the original clear, until yesterday, was it’s wonderfully invisible design. Design so good, you didn’t notice it. Typography and interactions so good, you didn’t have to think. The new version is not that. Drop shadows on text, no delineation between items in a list, long lists just look like one colour block, not separate items. Whatever they thought they were buying, they have erased. This is now a failure, unusable. It’s been a great ten years or so.

Close Shave..!. Wow, that was a close one. I’ve been using this app for a couple of years, and always loved it. Simplicity was key, and I used for everything from shopping lists to meeting minutes. Recently however, it fell behind the latest iOS update, and became a nightmare. I logged on now to leave a sorrowful review and delete the app as it was unusable, only to find a message saying the problems had been fixed just two days prior. I check the app, and Yay! Everything restored to its former glory. Glad you guys are back on track. Keep up the good work!

Icloud sync?. Have had this app for 10 years. Easily one of my favourite. Sadly it no longer syncs across devices. And it looks like mac version no longer supported.

So close, but so far. If you want a simple to-do list. This is it. But that's if ALL you want is an absolute basic to-do list. This app could be outstanding, if only the developers were remotely interested in taking user requests into account. The biggest missing thing, is any support for recurring tasks. Without that, this app is almost useless as a general to-do app. EVERYONE has recurring tasks. If you don't mind entering those in, over and over again, then you might like this app. If you think the app should be able to do such a basic task itself, then look elsewhere. Also, this app has a glacial development history. Don't expect a recurring tasks feature to appear for another two years, if ever. There's also no reminder for overdue things. Believe it or not. In fact you can't even see if something is overdue, without looking at the completion date set for EVERY task! It's really sad. This app deserves so much more, from its creators. It just seems they're completely disinterested in it. Sad.

Best To-Do app. Back and Fresh as heck. I have loved Clear for 10+ years and it stands as the most life-changing few dollars I have ever spent. For the love if all that is holy, download it and see what you’ve been missing.

It’s the best!. One of my absolute favourites. Simply perfect.

Fixed finally. I don’t realize how good this app is until i search for a replacement and can’t find one. Glad it was fixed because the competition sucks. This issue was fixed: Text disappears and Crashes when trying to type new entry. Completely unusable.

User for more than a decade. Any way to get rid of that giant back arrow on the bottom?

Could be better. 👎limited number of characters 👎can't edit text once entered 👎can't geotag 👎can't add reminders

Scandal. Doesn’t work since update. What a mistake I made, thinking I was doing the right thing by downloading the update. The app remains on a black screen. I no longer have access to the hundreds of notes I've kept for 5 years. What a scandal!

Handy app. This is my go-to list app. Highly recommend. The update is a mixed bag. It lets you move stuff from one list to another which is a HUGE improvement. The “bigger” theme just takes up real estate without adding any real value. I’d rather have a few extra lines of my list visible than a huge title banner. I know you can change the font, but the title stays massive. I can live with that stuff though. The main disappointment is the gestures. It’s gone from a one handed app to a two handed one - unless you can hold your phone while pinching the screen with two fingers. I know I can’t.

Lost all my lists. I used this app for many years and it was very helpful. Now I have lost all my lists and it’s a big problem for me. I don’t think that I will use this app again.

Would dive been nice if it could sync across devices.. It is too bad there is no account so it can sync across devices. It's a bit awkward to have to make a list on my iPhone, but not have it on my iPad, and if I want it to see in both places I need to make the list twice and cancel tasks twice (on each device)

Problems with new update. New version is slower, doesn’t always load up, enter button doesn’t just save the task it adds a new task now. Why did you need to rewrite this app? It feels like the same just broken now

I had high hopes.. This is a nice and unique little app. It takes a bit to get used to the gestures but when you do, it makes sense and is easy to use. One big stumbling block for me is that it doesn’t sync with iCloud. This was removed for some technical reason. I constantly switch between iPad and iPhone so unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me. If you just use one device all the time this is not an issue. I like what they’ve done but it just doesn’t work for me. Thanks to dev for replying and explaining. Look forward to the day that sync is available.

Please fix version 2.0. I have been a regular user of this app for several years, it was awesome! but I've been experiencing issues since the last update. The iCloud sync problem between my iPad and iPhone prevents me from accessing my lists on the go. Additionally, there is a major malfunction with list management: when I reach the bottom of my list and swipe up to confirm I'm actually at the end, all checked items automatically get deleted. This results in the loss of my entire list, including recurring items I intended to keep. I hope to see these issues resolved quickly!

Prrrt.... Ok the gestures are cool for 5 minutes, but no date prioritizing, no reminder system: by email, SMS nor pop-up. No task importing / syncing from Apple Reminder, Google or any other. Not impressed, even for 1$.

Where is iCloud sync?. iCloud sync is basic enough. Without it, this app is just too shabby.

Working again!. What a joy to open Clear today to pull out an old reference number that I needed, and to notice that I could add new items again. I just read the version notes. Thanks for not giving up on this app, team.

Way to shut out everyone with out an iPhone 5 or iOS6.. Guess it's a good thing I have an old version of this app, the makers here saw fit to say "screw everyone with old software or firmware" and made it iOS6 only, for no particularly good reason.

Most useful app of them all. Thank you for updating this app. I use it ALL the time for short notes/ to do lists/ medium term memory bank. So quick and easy to use! Highly recommend it!

Disappointing. Clear still has no search function. Apple’s notes app is so much more useful.

update deleted all my lists!!. just updated the app and lost a massive amount of lists!! CMON YOU GUYS. NOT COOL AT ALL.

Wow very disappointed. With all the press this app got you'd think it turned water into wine. But instead I'm reminded what an echo chamber the tech blogosphere is. They should call this app "tasks for hipsters" because if you don't like it people tell you that you just don't get it. What I get from using this app is frustrated and annoyed. Having to memorize gestures in order to use this app is just plan wrong. Mark a task off as done by mistake and you have no choice but to reenter it. LAME! Ohhh but it has sounds and pretty colors and gestures...please give your heads a shake. Exclusivity by obscurity...sounds pretty hipster to me.

Wonderfully Clear!. I have used this for several years now to track special projects that I am doing. It is the easiest and most clear to do app I have found. Please don’t discontinue this tool as I have 5 years of history using it. I live and recommend it.

Not compatible with iPod touch (3rd generation) after all. iOS 6 isn't available for the iPod touch (3rd generation) so how is it compatible? Guess I won't be updating to v1.2.

Update deleted my data. I’ve been using Clear for years; the update just deleted my data. Not happy. All I get now is a blue screen.

Overwrites the old app. I have used the original “Clear Todos” for years. Literally 11 years. And this new clear seems cool and great. However, it has overwritten the old app. And all my list that I have had and used for over a decade. I had the beta for this, and it was its own separate thing. But when it came out of beta, it didn’t replace the beta app, it replaced the OG Clear v1 app. And the beta app still exists separately (though that no longer work, which is totally fine). So, be warned that if you use the old app, it will replace it and not bring your lists from the old app to the new.

Lists from old version of Clear have disappeared😡. Very upset!!! New version of Clear was installed with no warning and all my info on my lists have disappeared.

Love this app !. Please keep on pushing updates ! This is the best todos app

Clearly, the best To Do List. Thank you for maintaining this app. Particularly the most recent bug fix. Didn’t realize how much I’d miss this app. It is one of the few non-native iOS apps I use daily. It is simple, elegant and beautifully designed. Quite frankly, the interaction design is superior (intuitive and fluid) to Apple’s own app. The one feature that would push this app to the next level is to copy a text-based list into clipboard and paste automatically as separate items.

Data lost after update. Looks like I lost all my data and some rewards (TestFlight icon) after 2.0 update. After reinstalling the app, lost more collectibles.

Best app on my phone for nearly 10 years. Been using clear daily for almost 10 years and I cannot stress enough how great this app is due to its simplicity. I have used this app to offload thoughts from my brain every single day and it makes my life so much less stressful knowing I have everything I need to remember in this app. Great to see that the dev team has been working on the app, can’t thank you guys enough!

Deleted everything. I had a lot of personal stuff saved on Clear…scum company!!

Best List App Ever. Have been using Clear for 8 years! Devs are amazing and the app is perfect

Simple & Elegant. I have been looking for a simple yet elegant list making application. So many apps don't seem to allow you to do the most basic type of list. This app allows you to make a list and have a sub-list within that list. Seems pretty simple but hard to find an app that does it easily and well. The apple watch app is a MAJOR bonus. Highly recommend. My one recommendation would be to add a (+) button and a back button for those who would prefer a more conservative UI. I like the pull down method personally but I can see others preferring a more conservative UI. Regardless, once you get the hang of it, so easy to use and does what you want it to do.

iOS 16 problem. No more useful since iOS 16!!

Scandaleux. Une application qui fonctionnait très bien depuis des années! Il n’y a même plus de transfert entre le iPhone et le iPad, ce qui pourtant existait depuis plus de 10 ans…. Pourquoi faire simple quand tu peux faire compliqué 😵‍💫

THANK YOU for the update!! Finally!!. I have been using Clear for years now to collect daily thoughts and “moments of clarity” as I call them, towards writing a book. As my phone is truly a tool for my curious brain, I felt Clear had the perfect format, simplicity and ease of use I needed to just whip it up and save a quick thought or two. It’s *by far* my #1 favourite app on the iPhone. Thank you for making this and updating it after this 4-year hiatus.

It’s back, and going straight into my dock!. Used this all the time, and glad to be using it again!

Great. Love this app it helps with the lists

WARNING DO NOT USE LOST ALL MY LISTS. How do you update an app that’s made to hold all my information and then wipe all of it?!?! This is the only reason an app has value and you’ve destroyed years of my work by erasing everything with no warning or consent. This is an untrustworthy company, don’t use this tool because they won’t respect the data you put into it.

The best todo app of all time. 10 years ago I fell in love with this app. The team have kept the spirit of the original while introducing a richer, more capable version. Kudos to them, it’s still undeniably Clear.

Blue screen. Used this app for years. It was great. As of the last update, lists are inaccessible. Just a solid blue screen is displayed. Not reliable.

So bad. Used to be amazing.. I have been using, and loving, this app since it first came out 10 years ago. Now it is terrible. The developers seem to have forgotten its original claim to fame was SIMPLICITY! We don’t need bells and whistles, and calendar reminders, and colour schemes. Just an easy to use app that is easy to read, synchs between devices so I can enter a grocery list on either my iPad or iPhone, and pull out my phone to review it in the grocery store. Or hardware store. Or clothing sizes. Or Things to do today. And a quick swipe left to delete things as I go. There are many ToDoList Apps out there and they are ALL too complex. I would happily have paid $20 to $30 per year to keep the original easy peasy version of Clear if someone had asked. And I suspect others would have too. So sad. Why do we always have to make things “better”? It used to be perfect. 😢

Best app I’ve ever installed. I’ve been using clear for over 10 years and it is incredible. It’s one of the first apps I ever installed. My whole life is in this app! I love how well it works for shopping lists - the way you swipe to check off items and swipe the other way to bring them back works perfect. Reordering by dragging is great too. It’s so good I was worried when it hadn’t been updated in years but I’m excited there is a fresh update coming soon. I have a meal plan for four weeks, lists of things for packing my suitcase, checklists for taking my kids to swimming lessons, recipes for my favourite foods, life goals, music, grocery lists, specific lists for going on vacation, ideas, checklist for things I need to bring to work, to do lists for my home, movie bucket list, things to talk about at doctor visits, what i bring to my annual golf getaway with the guys, top 10 lists, food orders for specific take out for my family, Christmas wish lists, stuff i declared last time I went through customs, yoga routines and more.

Best app ever created. I’ve been using this app for over 12 years and it is my fav app ever

App size. Nice app. I love the update but app size needs some adjustments.

Why did it take so many years?. It’s a great app, but why did it take YEARS to finally get a new version, when the previous one stopped working in iOS 16? It’s a todo list, not an operating system. Again, great app, but Impending has to be one of the slowest developers of all time.

AWFUL AFTER UPDATE. This app is a dumpster fire. The last update completely ruined everything that used to be good about it. Before the most recent update I would have recommended this app to anyone in the most glowing terms. It was perfect. It did everything I needed and nothing else. The interface was clean, legible, and easily navigated. It is now NONE OF THOSE THINGS. The app is littered with icons, themes, list making challenges, font collection challenges, and a million other “features“ that no one ever needed. It’s like a cross between a small town carnival and a video game for children to teach them how to write words in a column. I’m deleting this piece of trash from my life.

Old Version Better. Clear 2 is not good. Old version had more themes ready to use and I lost all of that with the update.

AMAZING Lists App. It was great for years but is incompatible with the newest iOS versions. Technically, you can still add tasks but the text is not displayed until you exit edit mode. Which makes creating new tasks frustrating and makes editing existing tasks impossible. Super sad to be losing this effective, aesthetically pleasing list app. Update: Thank you so very much for the new and improved version. One of the best apps for lists out there—great UI, fluid design, nice customization options, the ability to purchase customized features along side fun incentives to earn customizations thru app usage—perfectly designed and executed for smart phones.

Alphabetized and searchable?. I’ve been using Clear for many years and find it very useful and handy for various to-dos and shopping lists. I just wish there was a way to customize the list order ie; alphabetically. To be able to search items within a long list would also be a game changer. Thank you!

Really? No Syncing?. I honestly didn't think people even considered creating ToDo apps without syncing. What's the use? Beautiful UI experience, but until syncing is implemented, this app really has zero value.

Almost.. I’ve been hunting for a to do list task manager app with a widget for while now. This one is almost perfect. If the widget had the option to show My Lists, and not just one of the categories under my lists — it’d be exactly what I need. As it stands, the closest work around is to make a list of my lists, under My Lists, and that’s annoying and time consuming. Also, a way to contact the developer from within the app would be super handy and helpful.

ADHD friendly. I like how well it gamifies my tasks and gives that analog satisfaction of crossing off your tasks. There’s plenty of opportunities to satisfy novelty from its abundant offerings in personalizations. For me it will be perfect if I can add to my “inbox” list on the go with my watch. As I have a thought and fear I’ll forget before i reach my phone… the watch will be key for perfection.

An Essential App I Use Everyday. Its exactly what a todo list should be: simple and straight to the point….but Clear is also exceptionally elegant and intuitive. It’s simple on the surface, but complex in subtle intuitive design. I’ve been using Clear for over ten years now. I try each new todo app that comes out and Clear is still the best. Minimalist is also great.

Thanks for the fix!. Thanks for fixing the new-item issue. You don’t fully realize how much you use an item until it’s gone or broken. I use your app daily, for so many lists and projects; I still used it while it was broken. Now it’s back, and I appreciate the quick fix so much. Thanks again!

My Favorite Productivity & Lists App. I’ve used this app now for at least 5+ years for everything from work lists, book lists, anything and everything. It’s the best. Also, appreciate the developers fixing the issues previously had during the last iOS update. Back in working order and I’m thrilled! Thanks team.

Why the change!?! - reappraised. I’ve changed my review. I found the developer to be quite responsive and addressed my concerns. Thanks much. I use this app every day and it helps me to accomplish my objectives for the day/week. I’ve used this app for years. My chosen screen colors are gone and the font size is overly large. I understand updating something but, come on! Now I have to play your “games” to earn rewards to try and reclaim what I already had!

Better UI. This app was one of those apps that kinda stayed in the background for awhile, but I decided to get it back one day. Now the UI makes it a lot easier to navigate and use. Love all the customization possibilities! I am getting into using the app more, because it is WAY better than it used to be! Kudos to the developers for making an awesome app! Just love it now.

Excellent, Plain & Simple!. This is such a great improvement from the original app! And this recent update makes it that much better! Love the Shop every morning and the rewards are fun to go after. Love the addition of fonts. My only request for now is that you include a font that’s Matrix-ish in feel. It would be cool to go with one of the Themes! Thanks so much for bringing Clear back!

Version 2.0 Won’t Sync between my devices. I’ve used Clear for many years now and loved it. When they release version 2.0 unexpectedly all my lists changed and my iPad will not sync with my iPhone any longer. My lists are still available on my iPad but my iPhone is reset to a generic new app screen. Also, I really don’t like the new design at all and wish they hadn’t changed it. I will be exporting all my lists and either using Apple Notes or another ToDo lists app to keep shopping and tasks lists. Bye-bye Clear. Sorry you had to go and change a good thing.

Perfect. I have been using this app since like 2011 almost every day and love it! Simple, to the point, elegant, not bloated with unnecessary features. I had to briefly use another app when Clear was crashing in iOS 16 and when I saw there was an update fixing that, I switched back to Clear immediately. PS: Please please update Mac app and fix iCloud sync as well, I miss using Clear in my Mac :)

Rewrite was a step back. If you’re going to rewrite something, it needs to at least match what the previous version did. The old clear was so good because it was simple, intuitive, and snappy. The new version feels like molasses. There is a noticeable delay between any kind of list operation. Painful! Also, please please make an option to toggle the behavior of the Done button. I want Done to act like the Done action on any other iOS app. It doesn’t mean More. Hoping for the best from an app I’ve loved for years!

Love but dizzy. This has been my favorite app forever and I keep coming back to it. Beautiful and so easy! I love the screenshot list stitch feature and being able to grab a bunch of items at once. My only feedback on the recent app refresh is the parallax motion is a bit too strong and I can’t figure out how to drag and drop an item between lists which is listed as a new feature on the update.

At laaaaaaaaast (Cue Etta James!). Thank you for fixing this app! I was an early adopter and was so very sad when it broke! While you were gone, I tried other apps that claimed to be simple and beautiful and “just worked”….but they weren’t and they weeent and they didn’t. Lies! I missed Clear! I missed the gradient colors and the swiping and the cool list pull down. I’m so glad you’re back. Thank you! (Where is the place to get a TestFlight link? I don’t see it….)

Annoyed with latest update. I’ve been using clear for years and found that it’s the best list app. I love how quick it is to create a list and swipe them off when I’m done. I mostly use it for to do lists and grocery shopping. But I hate this new update. I don’t know why they suddenly gamified everything. The rewards to get new themes and fonts is so annoying for someone that already had it set up the way I liked. If they wanted to add a shop to make money that’s fine but I don’t know why they had to rebuild the how thing.

Bring back syncing please. I have been using this app since original launch. I have paid for iPhone, iPad & Mac versions. There were some growing pains but it was perfect for me after it was stable & syncing. I did not ask to upgrade. That should have been an option. The new app is a bit childish. Why is the list title font size so big? Why can’t we change their size? Why is the item count notification not working? Completed items are shown as strike-out AND greyed out. Makes it harder to read the completed items. Some of my lists are reusable, like groceries and monthly & weekly to dos. I understand there are growing pains again. I did give the new app a try. I do like the back button. Please give us the option of choosing the old themes with the old version look and feel. And please prioritize syncing between devices. I am using Apple Reminders app now. Please don’t make me do that!!

Thank you. So grateful for this fix! I tried a few new list apps and hated them all. I’m so glad to delete them and go back to Clear! The ease and simplicity of this app, and the built in rewards of quotes when you complete a list are a nice touch. The sensory and sound feedbacks when adding and checking off items, it’s all very enjoyable.

Longtime user, loving the update!. So glad to see this update, simply for the fact that it allows Clear to continue existing. I used the original for over 10 years and transitioning to the new version was relatively seamless. Yes, there are some more bells and whistles, but you don't have to partake if you don't want to. Set it up with a theme you like, set your preferences, and you're all set!

Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!. I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for fixing the issue with adding items. This is the app I use more than any other on my phone. I appreciate so much that you have taken the time to fix this issue. When the issue arose I thought perhaps I would have to find another app; however, THERE IS NO OTHER APP LIKE THIS ONE. CLEAR TO DO is the ONLY checklist app IMO.

Lots of style and very fun to use. The only suggestion I have for improving the app is to include iCloud back up and syncing so purchases aren't lost and progress on awards. Also adding due times/reminder times to listed items is something I would like as well. I know you can add a reminder time, but it requires doing a gesture swipe. Adding it when adding a item to a list would be best.

Love your App. Simply the best most intuitive todo tool on the block. The simplicity of this product is deceptive of its capability and intuitive nature. This is the way all Apps should be. Missed you when you were gone, glad your back. PS if you’re ever feeling adventurous it would be awesome if you were web based so I could find the same lists on my laptop, iPad and phone.

My favorite app of all time returns!. I couldn’t be more thrilled. The new Clear is perfect! Quick, minimal, with all the right features. Love the new store for purchasing themes etc if you see something you like, while still including a reward component that made the first version so fun. Looking forward to using this daily, so glad you’re back!!

Clear is the BOMB! However!. This app makes list making and taking exciting! Besides the cool themes, you can “unlock” new ones that are completely awesome! Completely worth it, and you won’t need another app of its kind. However, I just purchased a theme that I did not receive. What should I do about that? It was a 5 star, but when you mess with my money..,,.

Bring back swiping between lists!. Loyal Clear user for as long as I can remember. I didn’t have any complaints with the old version but I understand the need the modernize things once in a while. However, this new version has lost the ability to quickly switch between lists by swiping from either extreme edge of the screen. Please bring this back! The ability to switch between lists without going back to a menu was one of the biggest differentiators between Clear and other to-do apps.

Nice. I’m enjoying the app a lot, it feels way better than I remember it being 10 years ago. Two pieces of constructive feedback: first, it really needs clickable links inside the things. Second, when I tried to invite friends with the gift link, they all said that page looked very sus and refused to click links in it

Life saver app. So awesome.. I love this app so much that I have been using it for the past 6. Writing the review after so long doesn’t do the justice. It is so good and so many improvements have been made. I highly recommend for people who has so many to do list, and they like to make a note of it and get ‘‘em done. It’s so luv more than that. Thanks Clear team.

YES! IOS 16 update fixes my favorite app. Thank you developers for fixing the keyboard flaw with iOS 16! This is my favorite utility app on my phone. I use it every day for reminders, shopping lists and important notes. It’s so simple to use yet so handy. There’s no other list app that I have found that is so intuitive with its interface. I was worried it was abandoned but now finally fixed. Woohoo!

Yay, it’s back. Clear is indispensable to me. I have grown to depend on it and use it constantly throughout the day. It’s beauty is it’s simplicity. It doesn’t ask me to share my lists with FB. It doesn’t bog me down with useless “features”. There is literally nothing else like it on the App Store. I’ve spent way too much money trying to find a replacement when it seemed like it had been abandoned

.. I’ve used the app for probably 10 years and loved it, unfortunately the new update is very frustrating and I probably will discontinue use. The font and boxes are HUGE, which makes it no longer visually appealing and I can’t see more than a few things on my list at once. I also can’t see the number of things on my list. Please consider adding this back and an ability to adjust the size of the font/boxes.

Update breaks due date and time feature on iPhone. I have been using this app for years and it is a daily part of my list tracking. When a notification comes up for a list item that I have set a due date for, when I select that notification to see the item, the app crashes. I hope this gets fixed in an update soon as I use this feature quite often.

Long time user. This app is a solid pick for anyone who enjoys a fun UI with easy to use features / great organizing and customization features make the experience even more enjoyable. I found a glitch but it’s no big deal at all, just hoping I get a bonus custom icon for mentioning it lol: When you expand to add a task, then click the screen with another finger: the app crashes.

10 / 10 🔥🔥🔥. I’m so glad this app got updated! 👏👏Thanks, developers, for keeping this app alive, it’s still one of the best TODO apps in history! It’s my everyday helper in getting life organized It’s one of the first app I have downloaded on the AppStore and I was stunned by UX innovation. Clean and colorful interface of Clear and ability to create entries really fast makes managing TODOs a joyful errand 😊

List performance. Why are the list items jumping around? I leave my commonly purchased supermarket items on the list and swipe them done. Then I reactivate then when I need to purchase again. But the list jumps all over the place and I have to scroll up from the bottom when I activate or delete something. Can there be a setting so that I can resume viewing the list where I left off? Thanks.

nice todo app. it's a nice todo app, i appreciate the simplicity and theming and achievement style collectibles. gestures and sounds feel nice, overall a nice feeling when completing a task. that being said somethings would be nice. my complaints are mostly around reminders, examples being i'd like to have repeatable reminders on some cadence, being able to set reminders for whole lists, having reminder notifications clear when checking them off or deleting them. would also be nice to have lists within lists or at least a way to leave additional notes about a task. i get that the app is simplicity, but simplicity also gets in the way of productivity sometimes. hope the developers are open to implementing some suggestions. one last complaint is the pinch gesture, would be nice if it were doable with one hand (accessibility improvement), but can still work around it with reordering items.

Wasn’t broken. Why fix?. I’ve been using Clear since 2013. Most recent update is an example of really poor management. Like getting rid of Classic Coke. I would rather pay more for the same usability than have to play some silly game to unlock “features”. The recent update changed the font to a totally unusable one, too large- very annoying. And I think that was the point. Like so much in this world changing for the sake of changing. Unbelievable.

They reduced functions in the newest version. This use to be our favorite app for lists for groceries, packing, etc. Unfortunately the developer removed the ability to share lists through email. Now you just take a screenshot for the other person to look at, which is almost useless. It removed the whole swiping feature, just a static image. Still good for my own lists but looking for something else to share lists now.

Love that it's still being developed, but..... So glad this app is still being maintained. I have yet to find a list app that is as simple, focused, and a joy to use as this one. But.... the redesign feels so un-iOS-like. It feels like it's meant to be cross-platform. If the fly in/out animations could be tamed down, and the list fonts able to be adjusted, it would go a long way in helping this app feel (back) at home on an iOS device. I really really hope that happens....!

A VERY satisfied user!. I have used Clear for a number of years. I use it to make my shopping list, my to-do list & everything in between! Recently, there was a glitch when you needed to edit your entry where it would black out & you couldn’t see what you were typing. It was an inconvenience for sure, but I kept using the app and hoping for a fix! The team did it! Yay! Thank you so much for restoring my “memory “!😊

Great v2 update but missing crucial Mac version. Thrilled to see v2 finally in the wild. I tried the beta for a while and really enjoy it. It’s sad so many people hate the new model of themes and challenges, etc. None of it is forced on them and they can use the core service for free. So why only two stars? Because the relaunch complete ignored the macOS version. Okay fine, maybe it’s coming later. BUT, v2 wasn’t released separately from v1. If I end the beta connection and update to the release version, I’ll lose v1 and no more Mac synchronization that I rely on.

They Ruined The Perfect App. I’ve been using the app for 10 years (downloaded Feb 2014). It has been perfect all along. The new update just ruined it. The app used to feel efficient and sophisticated, and now it feels like a toddler’s counting game. Everything moves more slowly than before. The shadows on the text look ugly and juvenile. Even at the smallest font size the text is bloated and unnecessarily large. Finally, the new icon looks like it was inspired by Angry Birds or Splatoon. Why anyone in their right mind would take the ultimate lightweight, efficient, beautiful to-do app and turn it into a scribbly little checklist game for children is beyond me. Clear was perfect. I loved Clear. This new update killed it. Nobody with any sense of design will be able to use this app anymore. I can’t even count the number of people I shared the original Clear app with. I will never share it with anyone again. See you in Notion.

Thanks for the Update. I almost gave up on this app. Deleted it on my iPhone because of the bugs from the new iOS, but I still put a little faith that maybe just maybe a new update notification. So I didn’t delete the one on my iPad and I am very glad that I didn’t, will now reinstall on my iPhone again. Thanks for the update.

A long-time and pleased customer. I joined the Clear bandwagon back in 2012 or so. Since then, I’ve played around with many other to-do apps, but Clear is the only one that has stuck around. It’s simple, fun, pretty to look at, highly customizable, and the January 2024 re-launch provides so many more ways to personalize the experience for just what you want. It’s very exciting what’s on the horizon. Give it a try!

Thanks for the fix!. I love this app and use it all the time, from shopping lists to intellectual and spiritual thoughts. Although I used it with the glitch, hoping I was writing my message correctly, I was so happy this morning when I wrote something and did a double-take when I saw that I could see what I was writing! Thank you!

A Clear Purpose App: Developer Most Responsive. The app has a clear purpose that drives your interest. It’s clear how screen elements (e.g., swipe, pinch, pull down, tap, drag, menu options, etc.) work. The colors used throughout the app are attractive. The lettering, headings, and titles are attractive. Information is layered, easy to find, and read. The developer was most responsive and helpful. I COMMEND YOUR HARD WORK. A THANK YOU “FIVE” STAR: I would highly recommend Clear Lists to a friend or colleague.

Update without way back reduced functionality. It’s hard to believe but I’m using this app since 2013 and I like it very much for it simplicity. The Mac version I used since 2016 and albite there were issues with the synchronization from time to time, the app was great. You have a thought, you type it in on one machine, and it appears on all the other machines as well. But the last update was a surprise. It seems synchronization is no longer forseen. I think it is a really terrible move to just publish an update that removes functionality without warning people, or without giving them a chance to stick to the old version.

Continue to be the best. Been in my dock since the day I downloaded it all those years ago. So glad to see life in this app and to see indie devs pour their heart into a project like this. There have been a few bugs and annoyances but nobody likes change, some things just take a little getting used to and others the devs are addressing. Thanks Clear team!

Love the app. This app has helped me through many phases of my life and has been so helpful. I remember downloading the app when Starbucks offered apps in their coffee shops for free. I have been hooked ever since. I haven’t had to reach out before, but the only thing I cannot figure out is how to sync the iPhone to my new ipad. Anyway, if y’all are still offering that newest test app, I’d be happy to try it! Thanks!

There goes my favorite app…. So bummed about the new update. What I loved most about the app was the simple and minimal user interface. The new design is just bad and honestly seems 10 years dated- the transitions are distracting, the new font seems childish, and even after adjusting the font everything just seems clunky. I so dearly wish that there was a way to change back to the original interface but currently that doesn’t seem to be the case. After a decade of constant use I will no longer continue to use Clear.

RIP - Totally terrible now. Let’s all have a moment of remembrance for what a great app this was. And we can grieve how developers murdered it with the best of intentions. How I wish I had read a review or studied before I let it update. The updated version is totally terrible and the tactile experience of managing the lists, which was what made it so great, is totally gone. I strongly encourage any user to try it before you commit to the switch. Hopefully some keen developer will recreate the feel and function it as another new list app. You’ll make a killing - I’d pay good money for it, and I’m betting a bunch of others would too.

Great app stays great after update. I bought this app shortly after it came out and have used it nearly daily for years. The update is really nice with clean gestures and retaining the simplicity that made it so useful to begin with. I am anxiously awaiting cloud sync so I can use across my devices, but even without this feature I’m a happy user. Keep up the good work!

Best list app!. I’ve been using this app since 2013. Its simple and easy to use design is what makes it stand out from other list apps, in my opinion. With the new iPhone update, Clear had a bug that showed a black box when typing. However, it’s fixed now!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into making this app work again!! Highly recommend!
