💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Totally meets our expectations. We originally bought a EcoBee, mostly for price and functionality. It met our needs for function and were tally satisfied, until we got our first power glitch during a thunderstorm. The thermostat did not recover. It happened a second time within a month. Contacted tech support, they said they were able to replicate in a lab environment. The only cure was to pull the thermostat from the base and plug it back in to get it to reset. Hard to do when you’re 2,000 mile away in the winter! There is no battery back up in the EcoBee to filter a power glitch. Bought the Honeywell unit, which has a battery back up and it has handled power fluctuations from thunderstorms with NO problems. We have the remote sensor for our second floor and does a fantastic job of averaging the temperatures. Have only had the unit for three months so looking forward to see how it performs in the winter months and total remote monitoring. Costs significantly more than a EcoBee, but it works and I feel worth it for our needs.

Honeywell WIFI Thermostat. I installed my WIFI thermostat about two years ago. I must say I like the convenience of a WIFI system. Setting it up though was a bit of a challenge. I have a heat pump and the packaged instructions did not cover this type of install. Fortunately, your phone support was able to provide the necessary instructions to complete the install, after a lengthy wait on hold. For the first year, the system worked well. However, over the last year and the last couple of months in particular, the system has been increasing unreliable at times. Either it won’t allow me to log in (despite the fact that I never log out) or the system is simply down and won’t record my changes, locks up, or sluggishly responds. Many times this occurs late at night, so I’m forced to walk over and adjust the thermostat manually — defeating the whole purpose of having a WIFI system. With a Company of this size, not to mention the advanced technology, one would not expect this to be a regular occurrence, particularly with all the competition in this space. Please work on resolving these issues and avoid taking down the system for nightly or periodic updates. Thank you!

Okay, but Needs a Little Work. I replaced another brand of wi-fi thermostat with this one after the original failed. I bought the Honeywell partly because of the reviews and partly because of the company reputation. It works, but I am a little disappointed at this point. The thermostat does not update the indoor temp properly or often enough so it gets cold in the house before it turns the furnace on and then it overruns the set temperature so it gets too hot inside before the furnace turns off. I thought it was a problem with the unit so I returned it and got another. No difference. I called the support number and got someone overseas who had no idea how to understand the problem or tell me how to fix it. In addition, the unit does not have a function to give me daily unit run times. On the plus side, it is easy to set up and the display is easy to read. I would give this unit 5 stars if it would work correctly and give me some idea of how much the furnace runs on a given day. Update, one year later. The unit has settled in as far as holding temp goes, and I like the feature where it anticipates the heat time needed to meet the temp setting at a given time. Especially useful given that we reduce the house temp to 60 degrees overnight in winter. The unit senses temp drop during the night apparently and calculates the time needed to meet the warm up time in the morning. I would give it 5 stars but there is still no function to view actual run times.

Use data for something useful, please. First, I’m really pleased with the straightforward functions and usually-intuitive user interface. We’re away from our house unexpectedly on a frequent basis and having the ability to remotely adjust or shut off systems is super helpful and gives us peace of mind. Having said that, Honeywell could take their game to a whole other level, if they used data they already have access to. Homeowners or businesses that have multiple thermostats would benefit from some analytics that take the rate of (speed at which the systems) heating/cooling in their home/Ofc and the outside weather data to calculate what the most economic settings are. Every home/ofc is unique. I constantly question whether I should set my upstairs and downstairs thermostats +/- 1 or 2 deg apart, so that I’m not running them unnecessarily. This would be an easy thing to do and would be SUPER HELPFUL. The “reports” we get comparing last year’s running time to this year’s is useless information. The system would learn how our homes heat and cool and offer the cheapest way to do that … or give us a setting to do that automatically. If they add in our individual gas, elec, oil unit costs, they could calculate how much we actually save! … and it could be linked to the outside weather for greater savings.

App ok, thermostats flaky. It does the basics of what you would expect - you can adjust your temp remotely with your mobile app. I don’t like that my iPhone can’t seem to associate the app with the right password, I have to search to find my password - I assume this is something wrong with the app, because this doesn’t happen with other apps. We have 3 Honeywell WiFi thermostats, and all three failed within the first 4 years - they started dropping the WiFi and not connecting to the app. We eventually had them replaced - now they are working again, but we’ll see how long they last. I also don’t like that these thermostats don’t seem to be designed for the consumer - for example, I’d like to add a remote sensor to use to control the temp in one of our zones. We have a Nest thermostat at a vacation home, and the Nest app walks you through this easy-peasy. Can’t do that with the Honeywell thermostat and app…you have to have a tech come out and spend hundreds of dollars to do something that you could easily do yourself.

Refuse to sign new end user agreement. I have had the Honeywell RTH9580 for over a year and absolutely loved it. Being able to verify my summer home temperature during the freezing winter is awesome, and setting schedules or changing the temperature when I'm away is very convenient. It even came handy once when I got an alert below my set temperature and I found out one of my heating units had malfunctioned. The problem is the new end user agreement, which pretty much will collect all my personal information including name, address and e-mail and transfer it for storage out of the country where " privacy laws might be different", also will share my info with their 'partners" for marketing purposes which I might opt out after I receive it ( who knows how many times)... , and might even discontinue the service without prior notice... Not signing the user agreement yet, so for now the system is useless, as the main reason I purchased it was for remote access ( and I have 4 zones!)....

Simple to set up, Simple to use.. I have had one at my home for several years. I recently bought a couple more to give to a friend. The thermostats work well and stand the test of time, power off power on again, internet on/ off, still comes back easily. When we spend a few months out in the motor home, We can constantly monitor home temperatures and adjust, switch between heat & cool, emergency heat, or in mild weather, off when not needed. We get text when temp goes out of set parameters, or if the stat quits communicating, which allows us to have someone go check. We have a separate Camera system, and a separate Alarm system, giving some redundancy. Our Alarm is cellular so not affected by WIFi outage. There is a small fee for the cellular option, but well worth it for reliability, and the option to have service where there is no no wifi. It would Be useful if the Total connect had the cellular option. I could control & monitor the stats in my storage and shop.

Money savings and easy to use. Bought a new house that had a fixed thermostat. If I needed to change the temperature I had to physically walk up to it and press buttons. I would forget to turn the temperature down when I left the house or went to bed. This thermostat eliminates all those problem. Installation was very easy. Just match the wires from the previous thermostat. They are letters and they snap right into their housing. It’s built very well. You can change the display color but the best feature is that it can be controlled over your wife. This means you can be anywhere in the world as long as you have internet you can connect to your new thermostat. I also did a schedule so that when I go to bed it would lower the temperature on its own. It would start about an hour before I get up and heat the house so I don’t have to wake up to a cold house. I love it. Very good investment.

Boomer issues. We got this thermostat for our second home so that we could turn the heat or A/C on with or smartphone before we arrived. It does what we wanted through the app but I wish we didn’t have to sign into the app every single time we wanted to check the temperature in our home when we are not there. Also we chose it over other stats hoping for a greater amount of simplicity for us Boomers who are neither ignorant nor proficient with electronics. It does do some funny things that we are not used to. It will turn the furnace on very very early trying to anticipate having the house warm by the wake time which makes the house too warm in the early mornings causing us to wake up. It tries to out think is if we try and manually regulate. I suppose it’s just us but we are sure used to an old school thermostat that does we tell it to do when we want it to do it not an adaptive one that seemingly makes it owns decisions. It was mainly for the app that we chose it and for that, we are happy with it. Just wish we didn’t have to sign in each and every time!

Love it!. We upgraded to a Honeywell smart thermostat many years ago. It was connected to older mechanicals at the time, so we didn’t get the total benefit of the app from the standpoint of being able to control humidity through it. That changed when we updated all of our mechanicals this year. We also went for zoned heating/cooling, meaning we have 1st and 2nd floor thermostats along with electric, automatic dampers in our duct work. So, now we have two smart thermostats and have control over temperature and humidity. The thermostats doo a great job of keeping the house at an even temperature from top to bottom regardless of the season. I love being able to control the temperature, in particular, via my phone or iPad. The app gives me good information as far as inside/outside temps, inside/outside humidity, if the system is actually running, what the set temperature is. And it gives me this for BOTH floors. Schedules can be customized for each floor through the app, too. I particularly like the app when we have been traveling. I usually put the the temperature on a vacation hold, so about an hour away from home, I like to cancel the hold so the house is comfortable when we walk in. So, great thermostats and great app to use them.

Need Humidity Information. This does exactly what I primarily need it for, which is be able to remotely monitor and manage the thermostat of another site. Having once found a month after their departure that a visitor left the heat roaring, this thermostat has already paid for itself. My one complaint is that even though the thermostat has a built-in hygrometer (humidity meter) that displays the relative humidity level on its screen the app does NOT provide this information. The app will tell you the approximate relative humidity based on local weather information, but it does not provide the current relative humidity that it is detecting. Since knowing the humidity of the building I am monitoring is important to know, this is a critical missing piece of information that seems to have been overlooked when the app was developed. Add that piece — and better yet, an ability to automatically turn on or off the heat or air conditioning based on the relative humidity and/or temperature — and you’ll get a full 5/5 rating.

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money. I would not choose to have this in my home again. I have had it for just over two years, and about two months ago I started receiving an alert on my system to register my device. Only, it’s been registered since December 2016. The alert won’t clear, just gives me the option to remind again in 7 days. Super irritating. I have tried resetting with the intention of re-registering the device to try and solve the problem. Except, Honeywell clearly hasn’t put much money or effort into either their website or app. I cannot delete a device to try and add it back in. They have the exact opposite of a user friendly website or app. Most of the links take you to the same page, solving no problems. Also, whenever I open the app lately, I get notifications that my device has lost connection to the internet and changes that were sent were not made, oftentimes giving a FUTURE date. I have never had such an issue with something that should be so simple to use. I am considering purchasing a new thermostat just so I can feel the satisfaction of throwing this where it belongs: the trash. Don’t waste your money or your time.

Pretty good Unit & App. After a purchase of a new home, I was in the market for a smart thermostat. I didn’t really like the idea of the nest thermostat learning my temperature habits and deciding for me what the temperature needed to be in my home. I took a chance and purchased the Honeywell. I had some trouble with the wiring diagram and had to call customer service. I reached a woman who I believe was in India and I was worried that I would not be able to understand her and that she would not be able to solve my problem. To my surprise, she spoke very good English but I could still recognize her accent. She asked me a few questions, placed me on a brief hold and gave me some instructions which solved my problem. I love this device. Lots of features. The app is very handy. I really like the schedule but I wish there were a week 1 schedule and a week 2 schedule as I alternate a different shift at work every other week. I have had the unit for a while now so I am used to changing the weekly schedule to accommodate my work schedule. All in all I am happy with the unit and the app.

Works Great!. I don’t understand why when you try to do a temporary override of the system the maximum time you can override is 3 hours. When you pull up the screen to override it, it shows the maximum adjustable end time as the time until the next program starts which would be great. Once you set it to override until the next program period you think everything is ok but if you go back in to review it the override has reset to 3 hours from the current time. Today is Thanksgiving and the business will be unoccupied and I want to override the system all day until the night setting kicks in. Unfortunately all I can do is override for a maximum of 3 hours at a time. This has been going on for over a year and I would think it would be corrected by now. UPDATE: After doing some more digging I found out that the thermostat itself has a setting that can limit the length of any override. The app would submit the override request but the thermostat would limit the duration to 3 hours. After changing the thermostat setting for the maximum override time to 12 hours the app worked flawlessly. Also found out the thermostat has holiday settings that allow any holidays you pick to have a different schedule.

It's been great.. I had the excruciatingly expensive version installed several years ago after my original thermostat screen faded away. While I'm fairly capable of fixing things, the dual fuel heat pump/gas system and its associated wiring intimidated me. Indeed, on my now fifteen year old system, it was definitely not "plug and play" as it apparently is on current systems. In the beginning, it was absolutely obnoxious. It would regularly crash and require restart to reconnect to the wifi system. NOW, it continues to be absolutely flawlessly reliable after I presume a number of software updates. If I were to grouse about anything at this point, it would be that (a) the clock runs fast (about 20 minutes a year), and (b) the menu will not show time setting screen without a complete remove the batteries reset. Hopefully the current version of my unit now simply includes automatic synchronizing with internet accessed time. I should note again that the unit is now absolutely reliable. The aps on both the phone and the tablet work easilty, obviously and flawlessly. It it weren't for the clock issue it would easily earn a "five."

From Southwest Florida where are the temperatures are routinely 92 and above.. This extraordinary thermostat was put together with a package deal last week by the installer who we contacted through the promotion at Costco. From day one to the later installation date they handled everything beautifully. When I saw the thermostat being installed I asked them to budget some time to explain it to me because I had mixed results and ultimately A fatal experience with the nest brand. It only took a few minutes to coordinate the Wi-Fi with the different links that were provided and to add the security codes that make this thermostat responsible to those codes. I would say the whole thing took less than 10 minutes given that there were a number of steps and the fact that it is installed on my iPad as well as my iPhone. In a word it works beautifully,,, I can raise temperature is lower temperatures I can view the five day forecast and there probably some other features that I haven’t developed yet. I’m confident anyone using this thermostat would be greatly impressed and delighted with the accuracy, the function, and the ease-of-use.

Excellent product. I've been wanting one of these for quite a while now, but was just too cheap to pay the premium price. Lucky me, I found one about 30% off and just had to get it. The installation was the easiest I've done yet. I've put in a few different brands in for other people as I am a handyman. The hardest part was running a new wire through my walls. I only had two wires and this needs at a minimum, three wires. So, after tearing up my attic floor, the new wire is in. From here on out, it's basically a plug and play. The app is perfect. It has everything you need, with no unnecessary bells or whistles. It's completely programmable for those with set schedules. And it even tells you the temperature outside (based on local weather report) I am super impressed with this product. No, there are not any push notifications, but I disable those anyway. All I have to do is open the app, and I can tell if anybody has changed the temperature. I would, and have already, recommended this product to family, friends and clients. God job Honeywell!

Nice features in write up !!. The write up on this product sounds great. The only problem is is none of the online features work. We have been trying to work with customer service to get the unit working to no avail. I was told our problem was given an upgraded service ticket, but so far nothing has happened. It has only been a month so maybe I need to wait longer. After having paid a premium price for this unit you would think it might work. Every time I try to call into customer service I have to wait a minimum of 45 minutes on hold. Most days go well over an hour on hold and I never get through. I am beginning to believe that there are many of these units no working that is why I can not get back in touch with customer service. But then I maybe wrong on that too !! If I was going to choose another online thermostat I believe I would go with another company. Which by the way may happen soon, as winter is coming and with the price of heating oil, and the size of our hall, we need to keep our costs down. I would hope that the Honeywell Corporation would see this review and act to correct this situation, I will update this review if I do ever get in touch with them and the problem is cured. Building Manager of an American Veterans Organization !!

So close!. Works great with multiple locations and very intuitive. App would be 5 star perfect if you could save seasonal schedule preferences and vacation modes. If you could go to the home page of each property and push one button for “WINTER” or “SUMMER” that would be awesome. Currently, I have to change dozens of thermostat settings multiple times a year for changing seasons and vacations, then reprogram them after each vacation or season, all while remembering or guessing what the perfect settings of every tstat was for each season. Remotely accessing HOLIDAY MODE would be great for vacations or unplanned vacancies, as our current TH9320 Tstats do not let you hold for more than 24 hrs at a time (remotely) and that’s a pain to either re-hold every day or completely reprogram every time there is a holiday or snow storm when you are not trying to keep 10’s of thousands of square feet at 68 for no reason. Again, works great, and way better than non wifi options, but could be so much better for reasons stated.

Works Great, Simple Interface. App is well laid out and makes it easy to use all of the functions of these WiFi thermostats. I have not tried geofencing (don’t care to), but we do use the scheduling. I especially like the vacation hold and the ability to access the thermostats over the internet when I’m on vacation when (1) forget to set “permanent hold” before I leave and (2) when we are on our way home and want the programming to resume (cancel hold). I wish it would display logs of run times by day. The monthly email summaries are ok but like to be able to see the log by day/time and maybe juxtaposed with outside temp/weather data. Absolutely no complaints. I’ve noticed much fewer Honeywell TCC site outages as well lately. Note that the thermostats work fine when TCC site is down. You just have to walk over to the thermostat to adjust it like we did in the old days!

Totally lousy experience - 45+ mins on hold before I give up. Every time I open the app it tells me the thermostat disconnected from WiFi at some recent moment, like last night at 9:12, and service cannot be restored until I resolve this matter. But when I look at the thermo it shows a strong connection. If I re log in to the app, and then sever and re-establish the WiFi connection, then I can control the thermostat with my phone and from the website for maybe a few hours. Even so, it’s always telling me I need to register before I can have remote access. Thing is, this has been going on for two years. As recently as last night I tried calling Residio for help but, like so many times before, I spent about 45 minutes listening to a recording telling me how important my call was to them but all representatives were busy helping the other suckers who bought a Honeywell. I always make sure to hang up at least three minutes before the tinny music and lying announcer lady drive me to the brink. The faqs are of little help but they have accused me of having connectivity issues. I’ve got a houseful of properly operating devices as evidence of my innocence. The thermostat itself works fine hanging on the wall, as long as I can touch the controls. But so did the nothing-wrong-with-me! thermostat I so carelessly ripped from my wall and cast aside when I set this unit up, thinking it was the smart one. I did not know how much I would weep for the loss of my poor old thermostat.

Outdated. Lacks features other thermostats provide. I’m an HVAC technician and cannot tell you how much Honeywell is a piece of junk. They used to be the best there is back in the day but the past few years have burned me and neighboring AC company’s out on the brand. Highly recommend Emerson SENSI before ever putting Honeywell in your home. I recently just purchased my first home and it had of course a Honeywell 8000 wifi. My first instinct was rip it off the wall and install a decent wifi thermostat. But on second thought, I wanted to test it personally and not just go by what my customers provide. From the internet setup, all the way from having to verify accounts, registering, blah blah blah. Ridiculous amounts of work compared to 10 mins with an Emerson SENSI. Once I finally got into the app it crashed, multiple times. Then wouldn’t even log me in half the time. Cannot tell you how much more complicated this thermostat is compared to competitors. Outdated app, features are absolutely bare minimum and needs a total remodel. After 3 days with the Honeywell 8000 wifi I will be removing it this evening and installing a Quality wifi thermostat.

So Convenient for a Second Home. WiFi Thermostats came out shortly before we bought a second / future retirement home. The Honeywell unit that I purchased didn’t have a lot of extra features, but I really only needed basic functionality and the price (< $100) was a perfect fit for our needs. Being able to control the temperature from anywhere I have a connection to the internet is great - especially in the winter when we are heading up to the house. Once we are about 90 minutes out, I update the temp and we arrive at a nicely warmed up home. Unfortunately for us, our A/C isn’t tied into our heating system so I can’t control the cooling, but that’s not the fault of the thermostat. And the only times I’ve had issues connecting to the thermostat is when the local internet is acting up - again, not the fault of the t-stat. A helpful feature is bringing up the app and being able to see what the temperature is inside the house. It’s been 5 years running and if it croaked tomorrow I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another.

Export and import schedule needed. App works great. Would be 5 stars if you could export and import schedule. Ability to export normal schedule before editing for vacation or other event. Also very much needed for sites that have more than one thermostat. I will keep asking for this till someone listens. Give us option to not even show microphone, who is that lazy? Last update has caused latency with app, was spot on before. Very nice to be able to see if fan is running now. After icon update, app is buggy when changing temp or time, I see a lot of communication errors that were not there before icon update. Now, app does not notify of WiFi disconnect, at all. Why not allow time input for hold times? Very annoying to scroll for hours of time when you could just dial in a time and be done. Is anybody out there? Update App runs better now. Smooth like before they “updated it”. Still would like ability to save certain schedules for different events. Pain to redo schedule when different needs arise. At a church setting, we have Bible School in summer, revival in fall, and other times when weekly schedule needs changed. If we could save these changed schedules, we could just call them back up into service and not have to manually edit these schedules. We have 5 of these thermostats within our church. No more stars until someone actually reads this and does something to enable this much needed feature.

Could it be better?. Overall, the app does what I wanted it to do...remotely control my thermostat. One feature that I would like to see is the ability to program a “dead band” into a temperature setting. For instance, if I don’t want the cooling system to cycle as frequently and I’m perfectly fine if the temperature “drifts” a little bit. If a dead band feature was available I could set the temperature I desire and a number or degrees I was comfortable allowing the temperature to drift. For example, let’s say I wanted a cooling setpoint of 78° F and was okay if the temperature drifted up to 81° F. I could set the temperature of 78° F and a “dead band” of 3° F. What that would do is reduce the cycling of the system and it would allow for longer run times (which is desirable, believe it or not) when the system did call for cooling. I can do that manually using the app, but it’d be a convenient feature that would boost my rating to 4 stars. If they added a “run time” feature so I could see how many minutes the system was on in a given day, week, month as well as the number of times it came on I’d give it 5 stars. I know they send out a monthly energy report, but that only tells the story on a monthly basis and I assume it’s rounded up to the nearest hour.

Glitches nonstop, looses connection, tripped power. Got this to replace and out of date thermostat. Was thrilled this was WiFi enabled to be run by an app, which meant no more running up & down stairs to set the temp. Only problem is I constantly get log in errors due to their servers being down or it looses connection to the WiFi. Had it trip the breaker for no reason and stopped working all together til we figured the breaker was tripped. This was on a night when it was snowing and 22 degrees outside! Then today - again connection error with the WiFi lost & servers down, it comes back up a couple hours later but the darn thing isn’t registering commands or connecting correct info with the app. Turned our heat up but it never registered the house temp changing and the heat keeps running nonstop. Had it set for 60 and it says the house temp is currently 54 so it’s running. However we are burning up! Checked house temp with my other thermometer and it says it’s currently 66 in the house but this thermostat isn’t registering it & keeps running! We have had this professionally installed with our AC we put in a year ago. It has been a pain in my behind! Soon as I can I am having the AC company put my old thermostat back in! This just get worse each month I have it. I wish I went with the other WiFi thermostat but I thought this was the better brand. Boy was I wrong!

So far it’s the best I’ve had..and I had a few... I just installed a new Carrier high efficiency furnace in our vacation cottage up north Michigan. I had bought a $99 Honeywell RTH6580 at first, installed it and found out it didn’t have any battery backup. Since it’s a vacation home, I want the thermostat to remember the settings because I’m only there if you times per year and the power seems to go out regularly. No where could I find anything about a backup system, so I tested it by turning the furnace off for a while and reconnecting. The thermostat went to a much higher (probably a preset) heat setting than I had it. So that thermostat came off the wall and went back to the store. Then I tried a $99 Sensi. It was very difficult to set up, I never could get it to connect plus it only went down to 50° and I needed to go down to 42 because that’s the temperature I keep my cabin in the winter. So they one came off the wall and went back as well. I then bought the Honeywell RTH9585. It stores settings in permanent memory, not just limited battery back up, which is great because sometimes power is out for several hours, and no batteries to change. its goes down to 40, was really easy to set up and connect to my router, app has worked flawlessly. I love it so far. And I’m getting a $50 rebate from the electric company for installing it...awesome.

Multi Location. I really like this app! I use this app for 3 houses in 3 different states. My elderly mother always has trouble with setting, changing the schedule, settings, and season changing, on her thermostat. I live 500 miles from her. I got her a Honeywell thermostat and now I can make the changes for her on my phone. I’ve been using the app at my own home in NY for about 10 years with a couple different thermostats. Then we got a home in Texas so I got a thermostat for that home as well. It took me a little while, but I figured out how to add all 3 thermostats and get them in their perspective locations. The app shows local weather conditions at all 3 homes, and gets the thermostat time (dst/time zone) adjusted automatically. In a bit of a separate note, I found one of the thermostats had about a 2 to 2-1/2 deg offset. It said the temperature was 76 when it was actually 78. There is a setting within the thermostat to correct the temperature reading. I prefer adjustment would be .2 deg resolution rather than 1 deg.

Underwhelming functionality for such a cool looking product…. This thermostat is gorgeous on the wall. It’s decently easy to set up, although I couldn’t complete registration through my smart phone. I had to use my laptop to register my thermostat because the buttons were misaligned on my phone. As a prior Honeywell thermostat owner (I had a lower model at my old place), I’m stunned at how many features are missing from this “upper tier” device that were so nice and convenient on my older model. For example, you apparently cannot remotely control the unit while it is on vacation mode. You can see status, but if you’re planning on coming home early or letting someone else in while you’re gone, you’ve got to be in front of the panel to do that. Why? What if my plans change? Another convenience on the old one that’s missing here, apparently, is geo-fencing. If I traveled outside a circle around my home, my old Thermostat detected that and adjusted to the more energy friendly settings I programmed. When it detected I was coming home, it would change to my “at home” settings. I travel a lot and enjoyed the automation and common sense that was built into my old unit but seems to be missing from this new, not nearly as smart unit. I’ll update if this improves or I learn a trick I don’t currently know.

Best Thermostat Ever!. I love this thermostat! It's saved us money and the fact that there aren't any batteries is the best. I love the fact that I can change the temperature or setting from anywhere I have cell phone service or wifi connection. The only real downside to this unit is it only allows you two timed settings throughout the day. We have it set to drop temperature at night while we sleep and then to raise temperature back to normal when we wake up. And that’s all there is for the timed controls. It would be nice if say a couple of hours later after we wake up and leave the house I could have it setup to drop temperature again until we all got home from work or school and then raise the temperature again. It would save money since no one is home. Yes I can change the temp at work, but most of the time I get too busy and forget. Other than that, great product! The monthly emails showing heating and cooling per month compared to the previous year is nice and it allows you to tweak the programming a bit to save money.

Great app!. This app is a great addition to the smart stat. It provides the same info as if I was standing in front of the unit. I can perform all I need to do with this app and what I can’t is not that important to the functionality of the unit so it can wait until I’m at the unit to perform. I have 2 systems but only purchased 1 stat to see if all was good with it. After about 2 months of having it operate my main level, I will purchase another one for my second level. The setup was a little confusing at first as the color wires did not match up to the new stat. But once I researched on what each colored wire actually is and what it does and matched that to the stat, it was pretty simple on how to wire it up. I like the outside temp feature where I can see at a glance of the outside temp, although I have other apps for that it’s still nice. Having the schedule pretty much operate the system it’s nice when like on holidays when everyone is home, I can just go to the app and change to the desired temp and it will hold there until the next scheduled setting and it will just continue with the schedule from there. Or I can just do a permanent hold and release it when I want. Like I said earlier, it does exactly what I need it to. My only complaint is the price, albeit comparable to other smart stats on the market, they are all over priced, in my opinion.

A little quirky but it does work. I find that I may have to actually perform an action more than once and keep the application open long enough to make sure that it actually performs the action before moving on. If I want to lower the target temperature, I set it, and then hold it open until it indicates the air is on. Then I have to reset the target temperature because it reverts back to the current ambient temp. Not sure why that happens—it did not do that when it was first installed. A little quirky but it does work and I can set it remotely as well. Plus, with everything that we now know about the other well-known options, we can be thankful that this thermostat offers more or less exactly what I promises. It does not allow other apps to take over your wifi, does not allow access to other apps or small appliances in your home, didn’t secretly do anything, and regulates your temperature, either manually or by schedule. I thought about replacing it with the Ring but knowing what I know about corporate ownership, I will buy another Honeywell when the time comes to replace it.

Honeywell RTH6500 Thermostat. Five stars for sure. The Honeywell RTH6500 Thermostat is my first experience with a programmable thermostat and an iPhone app. As with anything new for me, especially anything “techie,” there was a learning curve. Fortunately, it was brief. After a few weeks I became comfortable with the thermostat and the app. Now both serve their purposes very nicely and both are easy to use. I just set the schedule and forget about it, mostly. I would say always instead of mostly, except that my wife and I can’t agree on the best ambient temperature at which to keep the house. For over 50 years we have argued silently over this issue. She has not mastered the controls in the thermostat or the TCC app, so she just randomly pushes buttons on the thermostat until she gets a number she likes. It is then simple for me to open the app and surreptitiously correct whatever she just did without leaving my chair, and without starting an argument. 😁 Five stars for making a useful device that does what it promises (and for giving me a chuckle at the same time).

It’s not a Nest. I bought a Nest and it worked great all summer and I loved how it seemed to learn our habits but when winter came it would not cut on the heat so I called support, they attempted to help me fix it but I was busy at work so I called our service company and they tried but couldn’t figure it out either and suggested replacing it with this unit, they claimed it did the same thing. It does okay for the most part & I can adjust it remotely when we’re away but in the winter I set the time for the heat to go from 62 to 70 at 6:30 but I wake up at 6:00 and I’m sweating every day. So, I changed the warm up time to 6:45, 7:00 same thing, same thing, 7:15, same thing. I called support and they were no help, they asked me to update the firmware which it did need but that did not solve the issue. It’s not nearly as cool looking as my Nest was and doesn’t seem to have the ability to learn and know if we came home early like Nest but it does work better in the winter than Nest but I wish I could have had time to get the Nest working properly, it’s way cooler than this unit.

New User. Purchased a Honeywell “Smart Home” color thermostat to replace a builder installed Honeywell thermostat on our hi-efficiency (95%) gas furnace/AC unit. The original thermostat worked well, but the display was just too small to comfortably read, and programming, with no WiFi feature was extremely(emphasis on extremely)difficult. The large color display on the new thermostat is excellent. The app seems to work well, however after only a few days of use, I’ll reserve total judgement for now. I have noticed that the outside temperature reading does not seem to update very often, and the displayed outdoor temperature rarely is even close to three remote reading thermometers we have in our home. I have noticed that the furnace cycles more often than it did with the previous system, and the thermostat has no choice of temperature differential settings. There is a conventional/hi-efficiency setting, which I have set to the hi-efficiency setting. It would be my choice to have a couple of degrees differential between on and off, so the unit didn’t cycle so often. I do plan on contacting my HVAC supplier to find out if there are any adverse effects from the more frequent cycling. At this writing, I am about 3 months from using the AC part of my system, so may add to this review at a later date. Summary, to thermostat manufacturer, or app developer, this really need a differential choice.

All important features of a modern thermostat work great. When I say, "all important features of a modern thermostat", I mean those features that control the heat/cool appliance to achieve comfort all day, each day. This means the thermostat itself is smart enough to start early enough to achieve the desired setpoint at the desired time, and its related app gives easy access to all features of the thermostat's program, which is full-featured. It doesn't keep statistics, for example run times, but if the ultimate goal of gathering statistics is to determine the effectiveness of a given program in optimizing utilities usage, this can be achieved by gathering utilities actual usage (not just their costs) from the monthly bills, and one would also need to gather the Heating/Cooling Degree Days for the same period, available free on the World Wide Web, so I'm not reducing my rating because of that missing feature. That would be a very cool app that would do all that, and maybe somebody will write one, but it probably shouldn't be expected to come free in an app that is only designed to give access to the actual thermostat features.

App doesn’t work half the time. I keep running into the app not adjusting the temperature correctly and the fan function seems so do what it wants when it wants. I have to manually go to the thermostat and set the settings directly in the thermostat. I keep getting errors codes that tell me the last setting did not take and it’s dated for a date and time in the future. I have the date and time set correctly on the actual thermostat but the app seems to not be in sync at all with the thermostat. When I first got the Wi-Fi VisionPro 8000 it worked great with the app and I could adjust the thermostat from anywhere outside the home I was at. Now the thermostat furnace the fan when IT wants to and not what I set on the app. My heat came on all by itself even though I had the heat setting below the actual temp in the house. It’s the middle of summer and 74 degrees outside and 74 inside, the cooling is set for 74 and the heating is set for 72 but the heat came on! Very disappointed in the Honeywell app and now wondering about the thermostat as well. I may be in the market for a completely different brand of thermostat and app altogether in the near future

Works great. I have two of these thermostats. One in a house in Florida. And one in a house in the northeast. Regardless of which house I am in, I can check on heating or AC of either house at any time using my iphone or ipad. Both systems are easily viewed interchangeably on the app both while in the house or away. The units were easy to program after the thermostats were installed. They also continue to be a breeze to use as I come and go to or from either house and temporarily or permanently modify the house temps. As I am approaching either house after a long absence, I can log in and modify the temperatures in the menu so that the house is comfortable upon my arrival. But perhaps most important, you can program the system to alert you if the temps hit a certain low or high target signaling a problem with your heating or cooling system. This happened for me once a few months back when I was notified of a rising temp in the AC. I immediately arranged for a service call to have the necessary repairs made.

Needs push notifications!. I got this app so I could monitor my thermostat when I'm away. The app has no push notifications on your phone. Which kind of defeats the purpose of having an app. Instead it sends email alerts. The email it sends you just tells you if the temp is below or higher than a certain temperature. I would prefer it told me when someone changes the temperature. For example, if it's cold outside so the AC is turned off, it will tell me when the house goes below 75 degrees F. But if it is very hot outside, and someone has set the thermostat to 60 degrees F, but it's too hot to cool past 75F then the AC could run all day without it notifying me. I would like it to give me the option for push notifications for anytime someone changes a setting. Side note: if you need tech support for anything contact the live chat people on honeywells website and they will help you right away. Emailing tech support will get you no where. Edit 2017: I can't believe this app still hasn't added push notifications. Email notifications has been 0% helpful. Nothing has been updated on this app in the 2 years of me using it. I think it is time for me to buy a different brand of thermostat.

Good functionality but still needs work. The good: I can control the thermostat remotely. It's been reliable over a couple years of use. The "air circulate" mode is very useful and helps inhibit mold and stale air. This mode circulates air about 8 hours per day even if the heat or a/c isn't on. I like that I can see system status remotely - in other words, in addition to turning it on or off, I can see if the system is actively operating at the moment. The mediocre: The "air circulate" setting can't be customized. Also, it's not intuitive. The app interface makes it seem like I have to leave the system in heating mode (but set to 55 degrees) in the summer time if I want to use the air circulate. The app should have a dedicated setting for "air circulate" that doesn't have an apparent requirement for the system to be left in heating mode. I can't see the status of my system fan in the app when in "air circulate" mode. The bad: There is a "marketplace" icon on the main screen which I don't need or want. This replaced the equally useless "contractor" icon which the app used to have. Now, each and every time I adjust the heat, Honeywell wants to present me an upsell. This "marketplace" should be buried in a submenu somewhere. Voice control is not implemented well and I'd prefer not to have it at all. There should be a way to disable voice control.

It was great but it’s getting worse. I have had RedLINK thermostats (controlled by this app) at one location for 7 or 8 years and I advocated installing them at more locations to my bosses because of their convenience and control thru this app. Up until about 18 months ago, I rarely had an issue. I manage around 35 thermostats across 5 locations now and with all of them, changing anything successfully with the app is nearly impossible. The rate of change failure when I make a schedule adjustment or temporary override thru the app is above 75% and that makes the whole system pointless because what good is an app to control things if those things refuse to be controlled? Over the last 18 months, the app has gotten buggier and the servers are offline much more often than they ever have been (but the app won’t tell you that, it just says “authentication failure”) sometimes for days at a time. Other user accounts for the locations I manage experience the same issues so I know it’s not just a problem isolated to my phone or my account.

Very frustrating. I keep getting pop-ups from their marketplace subscribers. Very frustrating! I do not want their pop-ups I do not want to take surveys. I do not want their marketplace vendors notifying me by way of pop-ups. I do not want to share my experience. My experience is my experience. It’s a good thermostat, and does what I wanted to do. They have gone too far by trying to interact with me. I value my privacy, they do not. Why does everything have to be so in your face. Why do we have to take a survey for everything? I called Honeywell and was on hold for 15 minutes before they answered my call. They did not know how to remove the pop-ups. They said that if I dismissed him a few times they would just go away. Guess what? They did not go away. I would not recommend this thermostat or Honeywell. I am in the real estate business and have a lot of influence on what people purchase for their homes, there is a lot of competition they are now. Not only do I not recommend Honeywell thermostats, I guide people away from Honeywell thermostats. And I come in contact with thousands of real estate buyers and sellers each year. What is your jolly answer to this other than “sorry you feel that way”.

Prior 5 star. I have two HVAC units and have had two programmable thermostats for almost 10 years. We are on the Phoenix, AZ save 3 plan, so your thermostats were perfect. But recently one of them went down. Ordered one that looked the same, but turned out to have no WIFI. My mistake. So ordered another. Looked slightly different with buttons instead of touchpad, but connected to the app, so happy. So now temps in Phoenix are hitting the 110 and above mark. It is important to lower our temps for a couple of hours, to then coast through the 3 hours without the units running. So the app was perfect until daylight saving time hit for most of the nation. The new thermostat keeps kicking on an hour to early, meaning I am charged like triple for it being on. The time is correct on the thermostat, yet still kicking on at 5 instead of 6. While the old one on the other unit is functioning fine, this one is not. So tried to look up how to get it back on Mountain Standard Time. Looked like reinstalling all over again. Have to call to have someone else do that. So thought I’d trick it by changing programming hours. Nope, kicked on an hour too late. So thought maybe the app was fixed on MST. Nope. Still kicking on and costing me money. Wish someone would tell me what is with this app only on this thermostat. Is there a simple fix. My rating for the app before 5 stars, now 2-3 on that one thermostat.

Functional but could be better. I’ve had this thermostat for a few years now and it does what I intended. It’s quite basic, which may appeal to some but gives it an unfinished feel in my opinion. I haven’t much experience with other smart thermostats but this Honeywell technically does the job but it’s not much to look at and it’s interfaces are somewhat clunky. Others have mentioned its sensitivity to changes in temperature being different than their previous thermostat and I found the same to be true. Setting up a schedule is fairly simple and mine has stuck to it without issue. The app is sparse but functional. Just feels like not much effort was put into it. Mine shows the outside weather conditions as well, though I’m not sure how often it is updated. You can also set reminders for when to change air filters which can be handy. All in all it is a nice thermostat and I may not be utilizing all the features/capabilities. Hopefully with time there will be future updates that could bring additional features like run time usage or energy usage etc.

Very satisfied, so far. Got this as a pair purchase. One for our southern condo & one for our northern home. Am very satisfied with the one I installed in the condo. Installed it myself & couldn't have been easier. After a short learning curve on my part, I’m very happy with this purchase. The second one, I haven’t installed yet. The installation directions are just a little different, so maybe this is a newer or older model, I don’t know. The instructions tell me to do something about the wiring of my furnace which I’m not comfortable trying accomplish on my own. I contacted my HVAC installer and am waiting to here if installation is possible but he needs to get something he called a “fifth wire kit.” Update: I have the second unit installed with the fifth wire kit. It works great! I could not be happier with these two thermostats in two different & distantly separated locations that can easily be controlled by my phone!

It works great!. I just installed the Honeywell RTH6580WF WiFi thermostat and I have to say that I am really happy. This thermostat is a real bargain in my opinion - under $70 at Home Depot and less on line. Honeywell supports the thermostat with an online control center which allows you to set up (email) notifications for a variety of potential issues with your HVAC system (temperature in/out of the temp range that you specify, loss of WiFi connection, system not responding to settings, etc.). There is also a phone app which allows programming of the thermostat as well as a number of other controls. The ONLY thing that I would add to this thermostat would be to have notifications come via text instead of email. I wrote to tech support yesterday asking about this feature - haven’t heard yet (it’s the weekend). But based upon the features lacked into this unit, I won’t be surprised if they come back and show me where I missed that OR if they add that as a future enhancement to the app or control center. The bottom line is that this a great, programmable and remote controllable thermostat at a great price!

Great product. I have been super happy with my Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostats which I’ve had probably close to 10 years now maybe longer and I’m more than happy with the app. I remember thinking about getting the first generation of Neat but opted for these instead because the Honeywell thermostats at the time at least were a little more accurate. They have proven quite good in enabling me to adjust the temperature when I am away from home, like if I forget to change the settings when I go on a trip or if I’m going to be coming home early. The app is probably not the fanciest one that you may see but it is more than adequate for controlling your thermostat or creating a seven day schedule. If it helps I have one downstairs for my Navien tankless boiler and hot water radiator system and one upstairs for a Unico air conditioning system. No problems at all with having two of them in the same house one for heat and one for air conditioning. Couldn’t be happier.

Glitchy. I liked the Honeywell thermostat for the wi-if feature and, because you can turn the learning mode off. I am on a time of use plan, so when I set the temperature, I need it to follow the schedule I give it (not get all smart about it and pre-cool before the off peak hours start, as that is not useful). I wanted a WiFi unit to check the temperature during the day, when I am at work. (Sick dog at home, can’t handle the AZ summer heat without proper AC, and outages are common during the monsoons). The app can get glitchy where you either cannot log in or cannot communicate with the thermostat, but it resolves itself by the next day. However, recently there was a power outage, and the WiFi router restarted. No matter how many times I follow Honeywell’s instructions to reconnect the unit to the WiFi, the app says it needs to reset. Now the unit itself says it is connected with the WiFi, and the app can see the room temp and the temp the unit is set too, both of which update properly in the app throughout the day. It’s been 3 days, a hundred resets, and still not correcting. I don’t want to call the help number and get transferred to someone in another country and try to explain this to them... so I’m on the search for a brand that has a better app and still has the option to turn off the learning features.

Good device but don’t expect too much. This thermostat works great when it works right. I don’t know how it reads outside temperature but most of the time is not in agreement with actual temperature in the area (does it read “official” temperature at some other location?). The other thing is that it is supposed to be a “smart” device and adjust itself according to our usage trends, but it has never changed its set preferences from the day it was installed. One thing I don’t like is that it changes the heat mode to “emergency” mode too often, seems to kick in more often above 71°F which I think it’s too much too soon. The remote works great, it even works overseas! Other than that the device works great, it keeps the house at the desired temperature, although I liked the two-degree differential the other thermostat had to kick on; this one turns itself on at a one-degree differential, so it turns on more often during the day, but I haven’t noticed a difference on the electricity bill and that is fine with me. The major flaw I think is that it doesn’t change “Modes” automatically (Cool to Heat and vice-versa), a feature I was looking for but could not find in local stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s, at least I can do that from my Iphone and don’t have to go to the actual device to change it! Hope this helps, happy hunting!

times out faster than on-line banking. The app and thermostat are useful but really don't live up to the potential of a modern web enabled system. It is little more than porting a classic, first generation programmable thermostat to remote control by internet app. Just think of the features they could have added, like control based on current outside temperature - why have A/C on at all if it dropped to 65 degrees outside? That would be a big energy saver here in my area where it does often cool off that much at night in the summer. I also take issue with their deceptive marketing and packaging. Some of their models have local weather on the thermostat itself - very cool. When i went to buy locally, the package mentions local weather and shows a picture of it displayed. Turns out my model does not have that. even the support guy thought it did but after far too long found out that it doesn't - the local weather display is from the online interface if i log on thru the web. if i'm on the web, I can choose any number of weather sites so it's irrelevant and should not be featured in such a prominent way on the package. By that point it was already installed and I had written wiring notes on it inside with a Sharpie so I couldn't return it and exchange it for the next model up that shows the local temp on the thermostat itself.

Easy to Use. I like the simplicity of this app, straight forward common sense. Keep up the good work!

Not user friendly. It’s impossible to setup an account or register a new product from the App. You need to go to another random website. There should be a WR code in the box to set everything up. Once it’s setup it seems to work but my new heating system still isn’t working properly.

Wi-Fi thermostat. Fantastic, check or reset temperature from anywhere in the world.

Feels like I went back in time. My “old thermostat” tracked my cell phone, set a geofence and done. “Home” and “away” temp settings. New thermostat installed when the company put my heat pump in relies on this app. Scheduling each day to set times is a pain

Has never let me down yet. App has always worked great! Never a problem.

Programmation exceptionnelle. Afin de programmer une période en particulier en hors de l’horaire établi, comme par exemple une période de pointe de consommation anticipée.

Simple et efficace. L’application est épurée mais tout y est. C’est super de pouvoir contrôler la température à distance.

Online stat. Works great, I enjoy being able to adjust it through my phone and check in on the house when I am away. My only beef would be that it doesn’t have me on the right time zone. It should know that, should it not??

Update your app. Needs updating. App won’t work anymore.

Does not comply with Accessibility requirements. Apps work flawless once setup but setup process is not as simple as you see in some other latest smart thermostats. No consideration is given to usability of the app by users with vision disabilities I will request the app designers to redesign implement the app to include the option to display the entire app in “TRUE SARK MODE”.

Easy to use. My only problem is that it’s not able to be used in Celsius

It’s ok. It’s great when it works but often disconnects and I need to operate the thermostat manually. The thermostat interface is manageable but the app is better… when it’s working.

cannot program. no place to program thermostat

Works but super basic.. Is there any plans for HomeKit or Google home integration? More options to do things would be nice.

Smart home. I use this app to control temperature and change from heat and AC remotely at my home and cottage. The app on easy to use and never problematic.

Blank Screen. Hi I logged in and it shows nothing I can’t even see anything i’ve uninstalled and re installed nothing works . This app sucks and I can’t set up my thermostat .

Works great. Everything was great until this update now the only thing you can do is read the message You are not connected to the internet while trying to log in.

FAN SPEED. Would be nice to have the option to control fan speed on the app. Please add that feature.

Hasn’t let me down for over 5 years. Great app. We just switched internet providers and I switched to Resideo app. Hated it, switched back to this one. Easy to use, responsive, love the lay out.

What happened to humidity and fan functionality. Was working great for 6 years and suddenly can no longer control humidity or fan, just temperature. Please advise why this functionality has been removed???

Yves. Fonctionne bien

Needs Celcius Readings. Fahrenheit is soooo 1980…..give us Celcius!!

New Updates with CONSTANT REBATE OFFERS = Annoying. Some people want rebates. I don’t. Let users OPT OUT of reviving these notices EVERY time they open the App. The last two updates have been SUPER annoying!!! Fix this before the next update please or into the garbage this whole system goes and I will get York or Carrier or any other competitor of Honeywell!!!

A Great App. Of all the apps that I use this is by far the best. I have used it for years and always solid. I use it on iPhone and iPad. I have two different homes (US and Canada) and I can control both from the one app with only one login. Full functionality and easy to program. I don’t need or want a “learning “ thermostat so this one works great. All adjustments are so easy to do. There have been almost no outages over the 10 years I’ve had these thermostats.

Limited data in app vs thermostat features. It would be nice to see which heating stage is active (2 heat pump and 2 aux) in the app. Also a summary of usage. Hours of run time and at what stage should be easily accessible data that other less costly solutions provide. Such as Emerson.

Excellente application. Vomplète et facile à utiliser

Works well. We have had this for 3 years. So far works well. Our house is in one town but we work in another town 3 hours away. I love being able to ensure our home is properly heated especially in the cold winters. I also really like being able to turn up the heat or turn on the AC so the house is at a comfortable temperature when we return every couple of weeks.

Crappy interface from 10 years ago. Title says it all.

Simplest, most intuitive interface. A real game changer. The first time you use this app, it feels like you’ve done this forever. Simple and elegant design. Seems to do everything I want it to without the need for instructions. Big fan!

Great app but….. Uodate….so I still don’t get alerts and I am not sure why, as again my furnace wasn’t working properly and the temps dipped. I would give it 5 stars however there is one thing I am not really happy about. The instructions say you can set up an email alert for highs and lows. I wish it would be a text alert and I wish it worked. I am set up to receive the alerts by email, I even have my wife’s email as I don’t always check my email and she does. Our furnace quit on us in -20 weather, the house was at +9 when we got home. Checked both email accounts and no alert was given. We had set the alerts at certain temps and it obviously had gone past them. Other than that great app, easy connectivity and simple to use. Just wish it had text alerts….

No Face ID support. Would be nice if the app could use Face ID or allow iPhone to store the password instead of entering it every time.

Easy to install and setup. Great WiFi thermostat to setup. Installation was a breath. The only thing lacking is: configure it when on vacation or out!

Not connected. App worked great up until recently - now I get the message that I need to reconnect. It happened 7 times in the last week since I started tracking. I have to restart my modem each time just for this.

Works as advertised. Update Oct 04: Holy crap, I was forced to redirect to Hydro One power reduction program website without a dismiss option. That is venturing into overreach. That gives me cause for concern. I already manage my power consumption and residential climate needs. I do not need nor want government/corporate intervention to decide my residential requirements! With exception of system wide server glitch last winter, has been operating flawlessly. Latest/er update now has a "find rebates" button at the bottom of main screen, which is quite annoying when I cannot dismiss the advertising push. Otherwise, pretty good.

Excellent. Absolutely no problems, integrated easily with Alexa, love that feature, I can control from anywhere.

Works great!. Works Great!

Too Basic. App works fine, and controls the system well. But provides no additional information about your system, like running times, or temperature reading from remote indoor sensors.

Easy to use but needs schedule & programming. I would like to set a schedule or coordinate temperatures with weather changes

Quebec home owner.. Awesome app. Allows great visibility and control of home temperature when away. The app allows me to schedule a rise in temperature while sleeping at 3:45, then lower it at 5:45 in order to avoid heating during morning peak energy cost (6am to 9am). This helps save money during planned peak energy saving events in Quebec and puts more electricity in the grid to help avoid power interruptions during severe cold weather periods. Only wish the app would allow for 8 daily schedule settings (or more) instead of the current 4 available. This way we could schedule for both morning and evening peak energy saving events without having to go back into the app after 9am to reset the 4 settings to coincide with evening times. If you can release a new version that allows the user to choose the amount of settings needed to help make their home comfortable and take advantage of programming for morning & evening energy saving events it would be amazing. In addition, if you can allow adjustments at 5 minute increments in time settings instead of the current 15 minutes it would make it even better.

HVAC not working. It does not let you know if the temperature goes down or up to an unacceptable level to let you know that your HVAC unit is not working

Continuously Disconnects. I am with the other reviewers. This is disconnected more than it connects. They have replaced it once and tech support cannot figure it out. Even replaced the router and the red link gateway disconnects all day long. It is a terrible unit and tech support takes forever and is useless.

Just installed. Installed easy, programming from the thermostat was easy, connected to my wifi fast, registration is terrible, added the app, it would not let me set up a new account at first, finally got the account set up then went to register, fought with the process, the registration window has been spinning for over 2 hours, it says it should take a few minutes, went through the trouble shooting guide, no difference, as a thermostat it works great, will need to contact support on Monday as they’re only open Monday to Friday. Just make the app work with my wifi through my phone.

Won’t save my login!. My husband has the app on his phone and was able to select “remember me” so he doesn’t have to login each time he opens it but for some reason it doesn’t give me that option on my phone and I have to log in every time I open the app!

Loses connection. Loses connection too frequently. Have to be on site to restore connection, just too unreliable.

Fantastic app. I use for my pellet stove. It’s great logging into app, calling for heat, getting home from work to a warm shop. Winters here are nasty cold. It is really REALLY great to log in via wifi to turn pellet stove on couple hours before getting home. OR even setting a schedule for it. Hour later log in to see your temperature has gone up!!! Absolutely love it.

Great app. I like the fact you can control home temperature remotely.

Terrible Software. Terrible software. App never connects with thermostat. Don't waste your time with it...

Need more options. App is vert user friendly and easy to use. Work well for the basic, but I would like if it could give more option like « vacancy » mode and more than one setting to be saved for programmed schedule.

Functional, but no progress. I’ve been using this system and app for a decade now - I’m on my third home. So it works. However, there’s essentially been no progress on it. Same ok-but-could-be-enhanced interface. Still no saved schedules to reload for different work schedules, school vacations, seasons, etc. And my “favorite” bug is still unfixed, the lack of automatic daylight savings time update, and the fact that the manual override is buried somewhere completely obscure and I shall have to call for the THIRD time to locate it. To say nothing of the related gap, that the app and the thermostat do not tell you what time THEY think it is (which should be on the first/default screen), so one only realizes DST is not working by noting the actual vs scheduled times different parts of the day kick in. I’ve been complaining for TEN YEARS. Next house I’ll be considering other options, since customer feedback is just round-filed.

Love Hate Relationship. This is a great product and I enjoy the flexibility of controlling the temperature in my home from anywhere in the world. I also like the idea of accessing the cameras in my home so I can ensure the furnace is running and at the desired temperature. The downside is this unit may be defective because twice a week while my internet is online, the unit goes offline and shows a blank screen. I have to remove several times before it will show an actual screen to get my furnace running again. This would be a major issue if I was out of town during winter months because the only way to get my furnace running, I have to remove the thermostat physically. If out of town, there is no way to reset and this cause a major frozen pipe issue. I’m considering returning this somewhat defective unit to the store for another unit to see if I experience the same problem. Other than that, it’s a great product.

Own 4. My first one was replaced with Honeywell’s blessing 3x. The tech couldn’t help me and said the units were bad. They were resetting after every cooling cycle. I already had a nest at another home and I’m not really a fan. Turns out I figured out my new ac unit was wired to shut off at the compressor and not the control panel. After figuring that out I bought three more for other homes and I installed another 3 at friends homes. Their app is getting easier to add another location to it. I just haven’t figured out if it’s possible to add one without being onsite, and I don’t know if it’s possible to program the range stop settings remotely. Speaking of that, the Honeywell website doesn’t list my model as setting this, but it does. As is the case with most call centers, the person your speaking to is most likely an untrained intern reading from a TelePrompTer.

Lots of steps, but worth the trouble!. I installed an RTH9585WF thermostat and needed to run a new thermostat wire to have the C wire power going from the furnace to the thermostat. Once I got the new thermostat hooked up I had to go to the website (despite having the app downloaded) to register the device. The website didn’t work great, I had to re-register a couple of times due to page time outs, but once the account was established and the device was registered, you’re able to log in using the app to see your device. The app is very straightforward and basic for thermostat control. It took me a little while to find the temperature alert section so I get an email notification that the temp drops but eventually I found it... all in all it does exactly what it claims to do, it’s just that there are some steps to cover to get there depending on your setup.

Problem with app. Keeps losing internet connection. Have been unable to get tech support (“high call volume, call during normal business hours,” etc). Three days later: Finally, got tech support tech. We worked together for nearly an hour, to get app/thermostat connection working and stable. Needed to delete thermostat wi-fi connection. Then, set iPhone as hotspot. Then, set up thermostat wi-fi connection to hot spot. That worked. Deleted hotspot connection and re-entered setup for internet wi-fi connection. This seems to have fixed internet-connection problem. Now have stable internet, wi-fi connection. Homeowner should NEVER have to do the above, to fix internet connection problem. IMHO, most homeowners would be very confused and frustrated trying to fix this issue. Honeywell should be able to do this from their end! My tech was patient, and I have many years experience dealing with computers - and it was a bummer taking over four hours of my time trying to use online Q&A, then getting through to tech support, then working through to a solution.

Great app, needs one critical feature. The app has been working well, and I commend Honeywell for having excellent customer support when we were initially setting up the thermostat, walking us through the installer settings, step-by-step. I’m still in the early weeks of using the product, which is in a second home that we are monitoring from a distance. It’s simple and easy to use, and has given me a rare feeling of confidence about remote operation of their system. I would give this app five stars except that it does not have an alert function for if temps fall significantly below the thermostat settings. This one issue could ultimately cause me to change systems, having had a freak accident where someone didn’t quite latch the front door when leaving, and a few days later, with winds and subzero temps, we had an open front door and frozen pipes. It’s nice to have a smart home, but it’s a waste if it’s not smart enough to save the house.

Perfection without huge price tag!!. I read the other reviews. It may be an operator issue. This was my first WiFi thermostat. I purchased 2. I love having access from my phone. When I would be at work my children would decrease the temp to 68 degrees during the summer. I could change the temp from work. Then I utilized the passcode feature to keep them from running up the bill. We have went out of town for short trips and left our furry babies at home. I can schedule the thermostat for several days and check the temp outside and inside the home to make sure the furry babies were comfortable. I love that you can change the colors and background. I don’t know know why anyone could complain. I installed myself (a woman) just simply following directions. Piece of cake and offers more than more expensive thermostats!!

Works, kind of. I’ve lived with this app (and its thermostat) for about a year, and it works, sort of. The problem is that anywhere from one to two hours before the next scheduled change, it turns on the furnace (or air), and it isn’t because it’s lost track of the time or program. For example, I have it set to turn on at 6:00 AM. I get up at 5:00, and very shortly thereafter the furnace comes on. The app shows the target temp at 68 when it should still be 60. But it hasn’t officially started the heating period yet, because if I take the phone and punch it back down to 60 and hit submit, it will show that it’s going to hold 60 until its next scheduled change, which it says will be at 6:00 AM. This is driving me nuts. In the afternoon it begins almost 2 hours early. Some have suggested it turns on so it will be at target temperature at the scheduled time, but why would anyone create a remotely programmable thermostat with that kind of feature? I can set any time I want. I don’t need it to “think” for me.

Works great but look out for the “trick”. I have been using this app for 2 years to control 6 Honeywell thermostats in two locations. I’m in Texas and there is a constant nagging “advertisement “ about saving energy or saving money. However, if you are stupid enough to sign up for the “trick” you have given up control of your thermostats!! For example: when you sign up for the trick, every time there is a power conservation notification from ERCOT (a third party organization that monitors electricity usage on the Texas Power Grid) This app (TCC) will get the notification from ERCOT and will turn off your air conditioning!!!!! I thought my thermostats were broken because the house had power but the air conditioning went off in the hottest part of the day!! You can call the tech support number and have your “subscription “ removed and then the thermostats will work normally again. So, look out for any “subscription” or “programs” when setting up or using this app.

Can’t edit from app when on vacation mode. I like all of the features that this app offered. It allows you to make changes while you are not at that location which is great. However if someone holds the temp for more than a day it puts the system into “vacation mode” and you can’t change anything from the app. The whole idea of the app is so that you can change it when you are not there. If you actually go on vacation and temp hold for 5 days wouldn’t it be nice to change the temp back to a comfortable level so you can return home to a good temperature? I don’t understand why it won’t allow you to change the temp when it is set to any mode. My kids don’t pay attention to the time frame of the hold so they lock it for more than a day and leave the house. I try to go in and use the app to change the temp and it won’t let me since it now considers it on vacation mode. It would also be nice to track run times. This could help understand costs and save more money.

Happy purchase. My old digital thermostat in a vacation home failed and I found this one at Home Depot. I did watch the videos and read all Instructions so this went in in about 20 minutes. And I am only a basic tools person. It does require a very small flathead screw driver to open and tighten the terminals- this was not mentioned or demonstrated anywhere- like a sewing or jewelers screwdriver. After a week I can say that I love being able to see& set temps remotely. I'll be able to leave on minimum heat but warm up before going there! Note it is best to make sure you have started the Internet process before mounting on wall, then complete after putting on face plate. Before purchasing I was worried about no battery power to back up. I called Honeywell who told me none needed! However, In it has a "watch style" battery which holds the program even through power outages.

A solid device - website needs improvement. I have 5 thermostats and install with out any issues. The size of the device is just right. I did find a bug in the app the temp font size on iPhone specifically if heat only configured thermostat is so small it’s hard to read but when I view with a thermostat that has both cool+heat the temp font size is significantly larger which makes me suggest to have an option for the visually impaired! The App doesn’t work when the website is down or has issues which in the two weeks owning them The website has been a problem for hours to 1-2 days...it even went down for maintenance which it should not do. Don’t you have a passive/active backup site as I feel it should never be down which is why I did all this expense...yes of you don’t DIY it will cost you $1k-$2k depending on the number of thermos you need. I would also like the App to be available on the Apple Watch!!😀

Good but needs some user experience updates. I’ve never written app review before but this app could be so much better if they made a few tweaks. Hopefully someone at Honeywell actually reads these reviews. 1st, you should be able to rename the name of the thermostat within the app. Just a simple feature to allow me to change the name by clicking on the text and changing the name. I have one thermostat labeled “downstairs” and one labeled “household”, I want to change the “household” one to “upstairs”...but right now, if I want to change the name, it looks like I have to delete the thermostat and re-add it back to the app. That’s annoying. 2nd, when you click on a thermostat in the app to adjust temps or adjust the schedule...at the top of the screen it just says “THERMOSTAT”. It should say the actual name of the thermostat so you know all the time which thermostat you’re adjusting. It’s annoying that it just says “THERMOSTAT”. It should say “Downstairs” or whatever name you’ve labeled your thermostat to be. 3rd, you should be able to totally customize your schedule see -> Nest app scheduling features. Other than those three things, I think this app is good. It’s not as intuitive as the Nest app that I had with my a/c system at my old house but it’s good enough. Honest review and I hope that Honeywell will make these changes...especially the first 2!

Great info when we are away. We love this Honeywell thermostat and it’s features. It gives us the info we need whenever we are away from home especially for long periods of time. I like that we get alerts when something is not quite right according to the limits we preset for temps, and especially being able to view humidity levels. I also like seeing the outdoor temp/humidity levels in contrast to what is going on inside my house. Another great feature is being able to control features when you are away, like being able to raise/lower temps, adjusting fan, changing from heat to a/c. The unit also runs very well and keeps us totally comfortable when we are home. We are happy with our purchase of this product, it does everything we want it to do.

New version seems much more stable. I have been using this app and matching thermostat for a couple of years now and it seems that this most recent version is pretty bug free. I have not had any disconnect or failures in a long time. I do wish it would send me an alert when my Wife or Kids make a change at the thermostat such as temporary or especially a permanent hold. It sometimes takes a while to recognize that the thermostat is not running the program because of manual intervention at the thermostat. I did request a feature when I first bought it which would be to set a tolerance of sort so that it would not come on and turn off for every 1/2 a degree change in temperature because by the time the A/C turns off the compressor and runs the fan for a few minutes after and finally shuts down, it is then 1/2 degree warmer and it turn right back on. They kindly suggested insulation for the house I do not own.

Somewhat disappointed. I purchased a new central AC unit for my 79 year old mother who unfortunately has dementia which prompts her to fiddle with things including the thermostat. It was my understanding that the pro 8000 model had a lockout feature as well as a phone app to manage this issue and prevent her from turning on the emergency heat in the middle of Florida summers. Well it turns outs this is true and the thermostat unit itself is equipped with the lockout however when you use the app to make any changes the unlock feature is no longer enabled. I’ve had 2 conversations with the tech department spending well over an hour getting inconsistent information. The 1st rep walked me thru server steps and used the word “strange” a lot implying she didn’t understand why this was happening. The 2nd says there is no way to use both the lock feature with the app. Sounds like the customer service and tech advisors need additional training. I’m not sure how this makes any sense but for this reason I’ve given a 2.5 star rating.

Schedules for temperature. I can no longer program the thermostat for a set back setting when I’m sleeping or away from home. I use to be able to accomplish that programmable feature but not now. What happened? Must now do that manually for some reason. Hope this is addressed ASAP. Would give this app presently a NO star rating but rating wouldn’t allow me. Please fix ASAP!!!! Update: The above problem started after a power failure where the power went off & on until I disconnected the house power in the circuit breaker panel. The next day I completed a factory reset on the thermostat, and went through a complete thermostat setup just like when I first installed the thermostat. I now have the scheduling that was once available. So if somehow you have this situation, complete a factory reset on the thermostat. It worked for me & hopefully for you too.

Trouble Free & Easy to Use. They have done a good job over the years, tweaking and adding small features. I formerly used a desktop app that worked with a competitor's hardware that offered non-proprietary data interchange, and I miss its history and diagnostic functions. These people do seem to stay on top of their coding and cloud capacity, so I have not felt much need to "look under the hood," but the app or web interface would be much improved if it offered a downloadable log or emailed it to me. Even if just for the previous month or as a premium, I might pay something for that. Specifically, I have three zones, on a dual stage furnace, and I would like to have a record of the times which zones were calling, set points, for how long, and whether W1 or W2 or Cool. I rarely bother reading their monthly email reports because a lot of our calls are overlapping, so the hours of runtime are not accurate.

Less impressed as time goes buy. When we installed this thermostat about a year ago, I was so happy to finally have a smart thermostat. I installed the app on my phone and, viola! Of course like, everyone, not having to get out of bed in the middle of a cold night or a warm summer morning to change the thermostat setting is such a fantastic adult reward. Having a mobility issue makes it even more of a treat. Fast forward and now I’m likely to replace this thermostat with a different brand in hopes that the more frequent app failures (no communication about it either) this time it’s been nearly 24 hours the app isn’t working. I am increasingly annoyed by the decrease in reliability and function rather than in improvement, or at least not having a feature become worse over time. If you can email a usage report to me every month that I don’t want, you can email me some sort of communication about what is happening with the app and when I can expect it to work. When I say me, I mean all of using the piece of crap.

App is decent, Thermostat is awesome!. The app gives me the remote features that I was looking for. I have added a wireless outdoor temp/ humidity sensor to let me check outside easily. I love how the thermostat lets me control so many things. The on line manual and all the settings are not for the faint of heart, but this is a very powerful thermostat! As the Honeywell stat was just put in by the builder, I was pleasant surprised that I could add devices for Wi-Fi/ Internet connections. The stat is very easy to link with other devices. I am most impressed however, by the ability of this thing to keep my house at such an even temperature! Heating cooling, no matter what, I can never feel when there is a call for heat or cooling, it just handles it perfectly! ( of course I can hear the blower kick on or off, but never feel too hot or too cool. Awesome stat if you are a technical person like me that gets excited by such things!

Disappointed!. I was truly enjoying this app up until a few months ago when the app began malfunctioning. First, the thermostat would drop the wi-fi. Thinking that it was my internet I would go through the long process of rebooting everything to realize it was not my internet. The next day everything would be working again. This occurred several times until a month ago (March time frame) 3 days passed with no wi-fi connection to thermostat so I contacted my HVAC contractor. Turns out, TCC dropped all the information of my thermostat. My contractor had to set up everything! Thank goodness I pay for a one time yearly service otherwise that little visit would have cost $251. Crazy! Here we are now April 16, 2020. The up and down temp buttons are covered up by, for the past several weeks, “Press for options” button is over the up and down buttons, therefore I can’t raise or lower the temperature via my iPad/iPhone! I sent customer service a pic of what I see, their response: “we aware and are working on it.” That was three weeks ago! The vaccine for the coronavirus will probably come first!

Up until today, when I really needed it, it seemed fine. Seemed to work ok & loved having an app to control from out of town or just upstairs. The coldest snap I’ve ever seen, and I’m off work because of it—so I wanted to override the schedule and have it “hold” til the evening, when it would resume comfortable human temps. The app said 65, though I set a 70 hold. Told me it was on when it wasn’t. Told me it was Off when it was running. And the thermostat itself read 70, as if it had reached temperature, when my other separate thermometer (right above it!) said 68. And it shut off again. I changed the Return time to 12 minutes later(1:30PM), and now 20 minutes has gone past and it STILL said it’s on hold til 5:30. It SHOULD NOT have a hold on it now. It’s the COLDEST DAY OF THE FLIPPING SEASON and MY THERMOSTAT WON’T FLIPPING WORK RIGHT because the APP IS GLITCHING. **FIX** YOUR **SH^T** Honeywell. People are depending on this to keep their homes liveable and safe, whether they are home or away. You advertise the peace of mind “knowing” what’s happening ... but if it’s THIS INACCURATE right now, how can I ever trust it?

Irregular sleep hours. I’ve worked the night shift for 20 years and wish I had gotten this system earlier for my irregular sleep/wake schedule. Programming the system doesn’t work for me since I get up as soon as I am awake regardless the number of hours slept, then nap before work or if I get tired on my days off. The best thing about the HW App is I am able to turn on the heater remotely before I leave from work at 7:30 am if I am heading home and arrive to a warm home in the winter. Can adjust the heater or AC from any location, mostly from within the house depending on my activity level. Would be nice to be able to turn on/off push notifications when the temp is changed as I travel a lot and have others taking care of my dog and house. Have had a few glitches lasting 2 days each, and received notifications HW was working on the problem.

No Longer iPhone X Friendly. 24SEP2018 Update: The intent of this purchase was to eliminate the need to travel up the stairs to adjust the thermostat. The app stopped working two days ago and we’re back to going up the stairs to adjust the thermostat. It’s pointless to have a WiFi thermostat without being able to control it wirelessly with the app. The thermostat itself is excellent WHEN IT WORKS. Otherwise, it’s just a regular thermostat with a fancy screen. The app is so unreliable and there’s no way to know if or when the Honeywell servers are down. We haven’t been able to control our thermostat wirelessly for more than two days now. Original: A wireless thermostat made it possible for us to make adjustments without having to run up the stairs, where our one and only thermostat is physically located. This was a real game changer while recovering from back surgery during summer time! This app is great when it works. There are times when the app simply does not work and you have to physically interact with the thermostat, which defeats the purpose of having a wireless thermostat! The app is often buggy, stuck on the login screen, and will not allow you to sign in. Whenever you leave the app and come back to it, there is ALWAYS an error message of some kind. After the most recent update, the app is no longer iPhone X friendly! When you click on “SYSTEM” or “FAN” to change HVAC settings, the “cancel” and “submit” buttons are no longer visible!!!

Remote Operation Consistency. I have used the temperature setting features of the app through a few name changes and appreciate the consistent and stable ability to change the settings of my remote locations. With a cabin in northern Minnesota, I can have it heated by the time I get there or cooked in the summer time. When relatives stay in the cabin, I can set both the main cabin and separate guest room built along the garage remotely. It also serves as my freeze detection alerting when the mini split heat pump can’t keep up at -15 degrees outside temperatures. That gives me time to turn on propane heat to maintain freeze protection. Any communication errors with the thermostats have only been because of my cellular internet failure and not because of the app or thermostats…making the system very, very stable and dependable.

Thermostat doesn’t follow schedule. App is convenient, but mediocre and I question the consistency between the app and the thermostat. Many times, if I make an adjustment via the app, I’ll get an error stating the changes I attempted to make did not work. Also, I have my schedule set so the heater will turn on when the temperature in my home drops below what was set. Currently, the thermostat will only follow this during certain hours, definitely not overnight, regardless of what my schedule says. For example, my schedule says between the hours of 11 PM and 6 AM, maintain a temperature of 70°. When I wake up at 8 AM, the temperature in the house is at 65° and it will not turn on the heater if I manually adjust the settings via the app or directly from the thermostat, but it will turn on randomly in the middle of the afternoon. Power to the device is adequate. I will be purchasing a new thermostat even though my current WiFi 9000 Color Touchscreen thermostat is only 3 years old.

I love it!. I got this on the recommendation of my friend and AC technician. Connection was very simple and I did not have to use new wiring. I’ve used the app and the website page and both work well. Changing the battery is a breeze and doesn’t require those flat batteries that are elusive and expensive. I use a good ole’ AA battery. I love being able to schedule the temperatures for my air conditioning or heating by the use of the app, even when I’m away from home. I have pets at home and the serves me well when the temperatures seem to spike and the schedule isn’t quite right for the day. I bought the thermostat on sale during Black Friday and saved quite a bit. I’ve had it for years and it hasn’t failed me yet. Even during power outages or internet outages, I get a notification. I’ve recommended it to several people.

Wi-fi thermostat 9000. It’s 29 below outside and 58-65 degrees inside. Not comfortable at all. Our programmable thermostat is not communicating with our furnace. I can only see the display from my cell phone but can’t adjust the temperature. I’ve called Honeywell support, got messages that say the system is in maintenance mode and there’s nothing that can be done and to call back later. Tried a different number and was connected to Yvonne after a 40 minute hold, she was in tech support located in Mexico. Her assessment was that either the voltage was off or the unit is defective and that I should contact the contractor who supplied and installed it, and on the positive side she informed me that we have a 5 year warranty on the unit. Luckily for us we have another furnace in the lower part of our home that has an old thermostat that allows us to turn the dial to a temperature we can be comfortable with. In summary, this new High tech thermostat is not worth its bells, whistles and features. Unreal you can’t send your review unless you rate them higher than one or two stars. My rating in one

Needs work. First of all, the app shouldn’t be in landscape-only. It should be able to display in portrait or landscape. It should have the ability to set a default location. I have two locations on my account and I want to make sure I don’t accidentally adjust the wrong one. The thermostat only has 2 or 4 set points for scheduling. I need more than four so I can set the AC to automatically super cool for a couple hours before peak energy rates kick in. The time periods for schedules can only be set in 15 min increments. I need to be able to set it by 1 min or at least 5 min increments so it doesn’t kick on the AC before my power company determines the time peak energy ends. For example, off-peak starts a 7:00pm. My thermostat switches to a cooler temp at 7:00pm but the clock at the power company says it’s still 6:59pm. So, I’m getting charged peak energy rates when the AC starts up (which is a spike in power). To prevent this, I need to be able to set scheduled time to 7:01pm or at least 7:05pm.

Still trying to figure it out!. I work hard for my money and normally don’t spend it without hours and hours of research! I bought a new heat and air system cause my house was never as cool or as hot as I felt it should be! So I figured while Iam dropping my bank acct a few grand why not get a WiFi thermostat and save money in the long run! Honeywell was always the brand my parents used they always worked great so after endless nights pouring over google reviews I picked one cause it was on sale at Lowe’s and 50 bucks cheaper than best! I liked the programmable schedule that wasn’t like the last 7 day one I had! You can tweek the temp from your work the car heck sitting on the toilet! Real time info! It is cool but I wish it had filter change reminders but I do have a iPhone so Iam covered! Iam not a technical kinda guy so I had to get a “for dumbies “ kind of gadget!

Some Problems. The thermostat on the wall reads the correct time. I set a schedule but had to adjust the time on the app by a couple of hours to make the schedule work on the correct time. I have reset the wall unit several times, still doesn’t work right. I’m glad we have an A/C person as a friend. He’s been here to see why we can’t change from heat to air conditioning without shutting down the whole system using the breakers, letting it be off for a while, then restarting the whole system. Learned to either leave it on heat in the winter and adjust the temperature so the unit responds, or leave it on air in the summer and adjust. I’ve learned never to use the app to turn off the unit or turn it on. Just have to leave it on! Quirky to say the least! Been a year and I think I’ve got it figured out, quirks and all. Nobody else in the house is allowed to touch it. They just have to tell me what they want and I’ll get it done.

From a tecnician. Anyone that can read should. E able to install the thermostat and this app andget them to work together properly. I have access to almost all system and this is the oneI chose for my house (actually two sysrems). The temp variance at first seemed a little tight at one degree so I kept track with my second unit thatwas identical except i had not insralled the Honeywell thermostat sytem and it had a Hunter programable that had a variance of 2 degrees. Yes the Honeywell cycled off and on more often but runtimes were shorter. Energy usage difference including starting surges were probably negligable but I found the additional air circulation made all areas seem mor comfortable. As for all the other features or lack of them I found nothing significant to be lacking and all functionality spot on. Since getting mine I have probably installed 25 or so with never an issue.

I liked this so much I bought a second one.. I bought this after my original thermostat failed. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for my vacation home (which already had a perfectly good working thermostat). This is great for monitoring the temperature and humidity of a remote building or for when you’re gone for a couple of days or longer. I can adjust the temperature for energy savings when no one is occupying the building. Then before I or guests arrive, I can set the temperature for comfort. If the humidity gets too high it will send an alert and I can adjust the temperature to reduce the humidity. (You can easily monitor the temperature and humidity through the app, but the alert means you don’t have to constantly monitor it.) You do need WiFi connectivity.

When it connects it is a five star. I gave the unit only four stars due to the inability of tech support to get the unit up and running on WiFi. The unit worked great as a manual programmable thermostats. The unit showed up on my list in my phone but couldn’t get it to connect. I literally spent hours on the phone with tech support doing exactly what she said over and over and over. Decided it was a bad unit and got a replacement. Same deal with the second unit. Finally gave up after the tech person said let it sit for eight hours then try again. I almost lost it with her. Decided to just use it as a manual unit and to worked great. Fast forward 1 1/2 years.... my router needed replacing. Thought I’d try again just for a laugh. Two minutes later I had a WiFi functioning thermostat. The router was never even suggested originally. So rating it it now five stars. It has never not connected. I can change settings whenever I want on the app.

New User. Can’t believe how many reviewers reviewed their thermostat instead of the app. Had a little glitch with my thermostat but that’s for a different review. As far as the app goes, it’s working as designed. It allows me to monitor my thermostat while I’m away and alerts me if there are any problems. The info on the screen doesn’t match my thermostat’s front display. But it has all the information. It’s just organizes differently. Once you get over that, the functionalities are very close to the thermostat. The only thing I wish the app would do is to do push notifications as another reviewer mentioned. One of main purpose of having and using an app is to get the information to you as quickly as possible without going through your emails. Other than that, the app has been glitch free. Kudos to the programmers who developed and maintain the app.

Not Worth It. Basically get what you would expect from a company that leans more toward commercial controls than individual consumer/residential. I had another competitors WiFi enabled thermostat prior to this but had to switch to the Homeywell Prestige due to dated wiring in my home when the furnace was upgraded. Prestige would have been an appropriate name in 2008. The app interface is clunky and feels like it harkens back to early iPhone apps (would look great on a 3GS). There are some key features missing with not being able to see furnace run times or learn my habits and suggest more efficient timing. Some view this feature as intrusive but should be offered for those that want it. The outside weather in the app doesn’t present well but is accurate. The largest knock is that nowhere in the app is there a place to set alerts if my home temp falls outside a range. In the end, this is just slightly more functional than the ole Honeywell Round they perfected in the ‘50’s.

MY THERMOSTAT IS A-W-E-S-O-ME!!. I really like this thermostat. I thought I was going to be missing out from the competition. I realized most of the others are just in the name. I do everything all the others do and more. I really like that if it loses connection from my WIFI I can use it in manual mode and not lose my central AC. I also installed it myself and it took me only about 20 minutes from start to finish. I also had to modify something in my furnace and the video Honeywell provides is super easy to follow. The thermostat was up and running in no time at all. I can access my thermostat from anywhere and know that my home will be cold or comfy warm when I get home. I also have saved money on my bill with the scheduling and the app on my iPhone. Thank you Honeywell for not making me spend hundreds of dollars on the others to get the same if not more. 👏

Very good wi if thermostat. I just purchased a new heat pump and I’m glad my installer recommended the Honeywell prestige Wi Fi thermostat instead of a Nest. This unit is easy to program weekly temp schedule and since I travel a lot I can always override presets remotely should my schedule change and I want a comfortable temp by the time I return. The Nest learns your habits but is largely dependent on motion detection so you pretty much need a motion detector in each room you spend time in. App has worked great remotely and I’ve had no connection problems at all so far. My only complaint is the error message I’ve seen on the thermostat is very non specific. Mine says “compressor/furnace not communicating”. My A/C guy is having a devil of a time determining where exactly the problem lies, and the A/C doesn’t work when I see this message. A/C seems to not work only during the hottest part of the day otherwise runs perfectly. Ironically the hottest part of the day is when you need your A/C unit

Great - Only Used it a Month So Far. I reviewed the specs and comments regarding several other WiFi thermostats and settled on this Honeywell model. We had our HVAC contractor install 2 (replacements for older units), one on main floor and one on the bedroom floor. Both were easy to setup and to connect to our WiFi. So far no problems. The Honeywell app was also easy to setup after understanding how to register each unit. And I like the fact that, if the power goes out, all programmed data (including the WiFi connection) is held in each unit’s ROM - Read Only Memory. I tested this by detaching each unit from its mount and then plugging it back in after an hour. Each unit worked as expected with no need to reprogram. Others have commented that the Honeywell’s phone Support is a problem. I have not needed to use it, and can’t comment. But it’s certainly something that concerns me - thus 4 stars. I will update this review should I experience problems with the units or otherwise.

ONE ZONE HEAT AND A/C. I have always had a Honeywell programmable thermostat. When it came time for a wireless one I chose Honeywell. I only have one zone in a two story house. If it gets too cool or too hot in the middle of the night I simply pick up my iPhone from the night stand and adjust the temperature. My only complaints are I had to hire a 2nd HVAC man to install to my oil burner after getting my electrician to wire and reposition it. A few days ago it wasn’t working at all. The email for the system upgrades was awhile ago and I had no way of knowing if that’s why it wasn’t working. No dates had been given and the switchboard was slammed. After 4 calls I finally got the recording telling me it was a system upgrade but not saying when it might be done. Other than that my thermostat has performed seamlessly. I also have a Honeywell electronic air filter on my furnace and I like that the thermostat tells me when to clean the filters.

Great app and thermostat. We have had a Honeywell lighted WiFi thermostat for several years and this app has worked very reliably to control it. When I am away I can check on the temp and humidity and change if necessary. It was very easy to setup and to connect to our home WiFi network. Easy to add or remove thermostats. Be sure to set a secure password so no one can guess it. I like that I don’t have to enter the password every time I check the temp. The WiFi connection does go off when power is down (although the thermostat retains all settings with the battery in it). When the power comes back on it always connects itself again. I don’ t want to use the voice commands so can’t review those. I do think the Contractor is a waste of effort. I have my own furnace guy. Overall I think it is a great app.

Will not stay connected to WiFi. Purchased two of these for my house. Installed both on the same day. Immediately, one of them would connect to WiFi but said it needs updating and registered. Well when I would try to register the unit online per the instructions it would only tell me the registration failed. I assumed this was due to the needed update but unfortunately there isn’t a way to manually update the thermostat, thus leaving me only able to control one of them remotely. Two days later, on a last ditch effort, I tried to register it again and finally it worked. Great, now I have both units registered, updated, and synced with Alexa..... wrong! Daily, one or both of them will disconnect from WiFi and sit idle. Even after resetting them and trying to go back through the set up, the have connection issues. I know these are the issue since everything else I have connected to WiFi works flawlessly. Basically these are just fancy looking thermostats that function about 10% of the time. I’m returning them promptly and and have already purchased two Nest units. Stay away would be me caution.

Works great once it finally connects to my device.. This thermostat is very convenient and it’s great especially when I’m away from home and the weather changes. I can remotely shut off, lower or raise the house temp not only for comfort but also to save on my energy consumption. I love being able to come home and my house is at a comfortable temperature. BUT the only issue I’ve been having is that about more than half the time I use the app it fails to connect or submit my new changes successfully. Whether I’m trying to change the temp, settings or schedule from my phone or tablet via 4G cellular, public WiFi or even while I’m on my home WiFi network which both my device and thermostat are connected to. It still takes a few try’s to connect or keep changes successfully when I press submit. Other than that, once it does finally connect and keeps the changes I submit it works great. It just takes a few try’s sometimes.

It just works! Buy it!. Connects through the cloud and your wifi to provide total control. When traveling I can turn off the a/c and check from my travel locations to know what temperature my home is experiencing in real time. I can schedule a/c and heat at different temperatures in four time block every day, and every day can be different. I find it very convenient to wake up due to the a/c or heat turning on to make my home a happy place to step out of bed into. And if I forget to turn off the a/c before leaving on a two week excursion I can turn it off from wherever I am when I remember! This has saved me a lot of money because I tend to forget when I’m under pressure to catch a flight. Excellent control program for my honey well thermostat! Buy both! It works for me and it will work for you too.

Works great!!. This is a great purchase if you compare it to the other brands that look fancier and who knows what else they do. I’m extremely happy with this thermostat but there’s something that I dislike and that’s why I gave it four stars. Sometimes while using the app the thermostat doesn’t follow instructions and you have to change the temperature manually, maybe it’s due to the application or maybe it’s the thermostat having problems connecting to the WiFi, who knows. I thought my internet was the problem but everything else was working fine. Overall this item works great, and the price is excellent if you compare it to other brands, I’ve had mine for over a year and the only issue is the one that I mentioned before and it’s occasionally. I would say that it’s very convenient to adjust the temperature when you’re not at home from anywhere, I highly recommend this product.

App meets my needs; still areas for improvement. The app does everything I need. It could load quicker. I bought this thermostat because it works with IRIS and it does. Although the interface is limited in IRIS. Adding the feature to change the system for s fixed period to the IRIS interface would be an awesome improvement. Customer service also needs help. A lot of help. I have an electronic background. The technical support staff did not seem to have a useful electronics background. After many calls and emails with pictures and diagrams I finally have up and hired an air conditioning professional. He was amazed at the ineptness of Honeywell's technical support response. These other issues are an aside to the app. I mention them because they were part of the experience. The less than satisfactory experience did not effect my rating of the app.

It's not working!!!!. 87 year old grandmother had to install a new furnace January of this year and found out she HAD to install a digital thermostat. She can not see the numbers, so we spent approximately $400 more to install this wifi thermostat so that I could control it thru my phone. I realize that I have an option to program the thermostat, but again, she's 87 years old, so one minute she's burning up, the next minute she's freezing. Has worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago as it lost wifi connection and wouldn't reconnect to the router. Customer care was able to walk me thru reconnecting, but I have yet to be able to reconnect my app!! 3 calls, 2 of which were hold times over 1 hour, then a 45 minute long chat(again after approx 30 min wait time to chat) and still my phone shows "device is off". In the meantime, this is fall weather in KY, which means it can be 85 during the day and 55 at night. Was told by 2 customer care reps this past week that they would research and email me the next day, and still no email follow up. Totally frustrated.

Good for starters. I was using this app with my thermostat in my townhome, 20 years ago. When I built, I specified the type of thermostat and used a slightly updated app then. Now, the app is pretty much the same—same functionality, multiple steps to get things done. Like the others, I would really, really like it if we could have better scheduling features. Importing and exporting the schedule each season would be nice. However, how about offering a page where one could select which stored schedule one wants to use? I envision 5 choices: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Holiday/Vacations. We could set up the schedules ahead of time, then select one at the appropriate time. Note: the interface for setting up the schedules needs to be simplified. The pretty things used in the GUI may look slick, but are maddening when you’re setting up the whole week. Keep it simple and improve the functionality! Pretty please? Thank you!

Needs a Little Work. Trying to link the mobile app with my Google Home app is impossible since my credentials for TCC aren’t acknowledged as being correct in the app, despite the fact they work perfectly for signing in online!! What’s up with THAT? How can they be right online but in the app they’re wrong? They’re not two separate sign-ins! Sync your data you farmed from us, Honeywell!! This is super-irritating! When you CAN finally sync TCC with Google Home, the functions are merely okay, though I’m sure that’s more to do with Google than TCC. The TCC standalone app itself is straightforward and simple enough to use and understand, but let us sync it with Google Home so we don’t NEED to use two separate apps for smart devices that are supposed to work seamlessly together. Fix the credentials issue for syncing with Google Home (one of the reasons I purchased this particular thermostat to begin-with) and maybe this would become a 4-5 star app. Otherwise it’s simply too bloody annoying and near-useless for its designed purpose.

Convenient to use. When my AC went out and new one installed, I also had installed the new thermostat. Which I find very convenient to use. Someone mentioned about not getting push notifications. I don’t see the need for them. I can see what the temperature is set on and what the temperature is outside from my phone where ever I am. You set it for cool or heat. Both are not running at the same time. I like that when I’m away from home for extended periods and just before returning i can turn the system on from my phone. I love that when I’m down stairs I don’t have to go upstairs to change the temp, or if I get uncomfortable with the temp at night I don’t have to get out of bed to change it. The irritating bug that kept my app from working occasionally seems to have been taken care of. I haven’t had that problem in a while. So overall I’m satisfied I’m pretty happy with this app.
