Recurring WiFi connection issues. Took forever to get two units connected to house wifi. An hour per unit from start-to-finish with what should be a seamless connection. The app repeatedly runs into “unknown errors” and can’t connect. The animation screens are TOO SLOW (preloaded animations with no skip option, especially when viewing for the 10th time on a single setup). December 2021 there was an app update (no discernible way to tell a push was sent because there’s no release log in the app), which disconnected both units, EXCEPT they were already linked to the house wifi, so attempts to reconnect each unit distinctively meant iOS saw them as an existing thermostat object, which means the app update did not properly account for iOS requirements, which are standard review for any app developer every six (6) months. In short, the app product is poorly designed, poorly evaluated, released without notification or intuitive design and lacks attention to necessary design and functionality, which is the only thing users expect from a mobile app.

Needs a lot of improvements and definitely the customer service is lacking a lot.. Goes offline a lot like everyday and of course my other devices like ring and nest do not go offline only this one. It usually comes back on itself but when it doesn’t then I have to call. After numerous calls they still have no info on me when I do call. They don’t know what device i have nor do they have any record of my name or phone number. I have to give all that info again only to find out on the next call they again have no record of me. Would not buy again. When it’s offline u cannot control it from your phone when your away which is why I got it. They can’t walk you through an issue cuz their unsure what’s going on. Needs lots of improvements. Since they keep no records or notes of their customer calls when you call they want you to remove the device from the wall to see if it’s installed right. It is because I had it professionally installed. They argue with you even though you know that’s not the issue. It’s so extremely frustrating it’s beyond words. When I’m able to I’m going to replace it with something that works and does what it says it can do. Would not recommend at all.

Thanks for the improved notifications. UPDATE: looks like notifications can now be sent as text messages (if you use your phone carrier’s special email address that forwards to text). Thank you! Adding a star. Old review: A handful of houses in our neighborhood have had TENs of THOUSANDs of dollars in water damage from leaks. When there is a leak in my home I want to know! Here are long standing notification failures with this app: 1) push notifications are easy to miss. I get hundreds a day. Might as well whisper to me at a football game 2) no badge icon - ok, I miss the push notification but at least there is a badge icon to let me know there was a leak right? No. No there isn’t. 3) email notification - too asynchronous, I need to know NOW that my home is flooding 4) text message - this is the ONE way that would be useful but they don’t support it. “Oh, just have an email sent to your phone’s texting email address”, you say? Sorry, can’t. Lyric requires that the email address be validated and you can’t validate it because it sends an HTML message and the text app doesn’t like that.

Multiple Lockouts with no recovery. Frequent incidents of msgs over the years that cause complete lockout of app - sometimes for months. Today’s repeat Example: “date & time of your mobile phone is incorrect”. The iPhone time is of course correct. But msg repeats and app can’t be used even after iPhone reboot or delete & redownload app. I have had another types of msgs with no recovery. Prior one Locked me out of app for many months thru summer and much of this winter. Reboots, Delete and redownload didn’t help. Issue disappeared last week after final of a long series of iOS updates. The problem didn’t exist on my spouse’s iPhone. No method to effectively contact app developers. Current issue resolved just now by setting iPhone to 24 hr clock even though it worked fine yesterday with 12 hr clock. And I don’t want to run phone on 24hr clock display. Reset back to 12 hr causes failure msg again. Thermostat and spouse’s phone are not 24 hr clocks and no issues for spouse. Frustrating to see the app working accurately behind the msg notice but no way to access app. Good reasons not to install Honeywell thermostats. Wife, however, was very happy with ultimate power. She likes the house 58° in Wisconsin winter. I bring winter camping gear to bed. App contributes to small family size.

Not updating unless restarted. The app is visually appealing and logically organized, but there is a major flaw. When returning to the app, it doesn’t reflect current settings of the thermostat unless the app is terminated and then relaunched. For example: yesterday I changed the set temperature from 70 to 72 in the morning and when submitted, the app showed a set temperature of 72 and Hold until 3:45 PM. This is all correct. When I went back into the app today, instead of showing a set temperature of 70 and FOLLOWING SCHEDULE is still shows a set temperature of 72 and Hold until 3:45 PM. I can leave the app open and this will not change; there is no obvious way to force the app to refresh what is shown. If I terminate the app and then launch it again, it correctly shows a set temperature of 70 and FOLLOWING SCHEDULE I like the app but I cannot recommend it because of this behavior. When the app is already running and the user switches back to it, before presenting information to the user, it should always refresh the data since someone else may have changed the thermostat via local controls, someone else may have changed the settings via another instance of the app, or the previous app setting changes may be modified by a schedule, as in my example.

As needy as a 2 year old. The thermostat itself is pretty good. I don’t have any complaints. The app? Well, that’s a whole different story. The constant alerts and notifications are as annoying as a toddler who is bored. They both are incessantly begging for your attention for no good reason. Why does the geofencing glitch out? Who knows! Why does the connection fail multiple times a week (and sometimes per day)? Who knows! The good news is I can just ignore the alerts and it usually resolves. However, my T5 device disappeared from my app device list. I have been through the “add new device” setup about 10 times and it gets right to the end where you answer some questions about your heating/cooling and then gives an error about being unable to complete set up or something equally non-explanatory. The app worked for a good long time with just the annoying notifications being the issue. Now the app refuses to let me add my thermostat. So...you be the judge. If you want a nice touch screen thermostat, you’ve got it. Besides that, there I absolutely no guarantee it will be “smart” because the app has become useless. Sigh. Who has the time for this? Not me.

Great when it works. I’ve had this for probably six months now. My only complaint is that sometimes it doesn’t recognize that my wife is home. I set it to give me an alert and I keep having to turn the geofencing feature off until I get home. Aside from that quirk it is terrific. Second complaint is data logging, or the lack thereof. It’s not a comfort issue or anything like that but I find it amazing that there’s no way to see how many hours it’s operated or in what mode and what the temperature was say every hour for at least a day or a week. At one point I set the modes too close and believe that it would heat up the house then turn on the A/C to cool it back down. With a data log feature I’d have seen that sooner. My wife is disabled and we don’t leave the house at regular times each day so the competition’s device that “learns” your schedule was of no use to us. In theory this is a much better option however Honeywell needs to build in a data logger and definitely needs to fix the Geofencing reliability. At the very least give us a button to override the home/away and/or refreshing the search when we know for a fact that someone is home.

Pointless: It rarely works.. The app is fine, when it actually works. However, it is constantly disconnecting from the WiFi (multiple times a day). It only seems to remain connected to the WiFi when my phone is connected to the same WiFi. Now imagine if you have an upstairs and downstairs thermostat, with corresponding WiFi’s. Even if you try to access the system from home, one of them will always show as offline because you can’t be on two WiFi’s at once. Do I need to get into accessing it remotely, if I can’t even access it from home?? In addition, it has so many bugs. I will go in and change a temperature setting and the app reverts right back to where it was. For example: My thermostat is off, I will go in and turn the heat on via the app. The screen will allow me to change it and then seconds later, reverse it back to off, as if I never turned it on. Lastly, it will sometimes completely drop one or both of the thermostats from the app. The whole point of this app was the be able to control the thermostat remotely. If I have to be at home on the WiFi to access it, there’s no point. If I have to go directly to the thermostat to update it because the app is undoing my selections, again there is no point to this. It feels like such a waste of time and money. I regret this purchase.

The Honeywell App for Lyric Is Absolutely Useless. We got the Honeywell Lyric thermostat because of the Honeywell reputation. Installed in our newly built home and it is a very nice looking thermostat that works fine manually. The Honeywell app for it is horrible. Can’t believe Honeywell would put out such an inferior, useless app for its product. VERY disappointed - we got the unit to be able to control it when we are away, but it doesn’t stay connected to our WiFi and the app is so basic and rudimentary - it does not have any features that mirror the device other than temp up or temp down. What a huge waste of money this thing was. Would return it if I could. Honeywell, if you care about customer satisfaction you should invest in better app technology so, at a minimum, all your devices features are accessible via the app. Would NOT recommend this device until Honeywell upgrades their app to have a stable WiFi connection and has significantly greater features on their app. Until that happens, this product is a waste of money if you’re need if flexibility and control when away from your home. Also, I rate customer service “0” because I called and waited for 30 minuets and was still “waiting for the next available representative” - VERY FRUSTRATED!!

Potential is there, but it just doesn’t perform well. I purchased a T10 stat when the first came out. My reason in buying the t10 was the IAQ options for dehumidification and the ability to have remote sensors. After having this system for more than a few years I have to say my original cheap bottom of the line M30 stat from Lennox was better. 1. App itself is slow to update: meaning changing it the night before and then checking/changing it the next day, it still shows what you did yesterday and will not update. Today I had the issue that closing it doesn’t help at all, still shows sleeping schedule and will not respond to commands from the app. 2. The stats Wi-Fi to sensors is terrible, again slow to respond to updates, cannot adjust the set points on the individual sensors. 3. No granular statistics are available. It says how many hours per day/week/month the system ran in a particular mode and nothing more. Where as my old Lennox stat showed granular data fan run, cooling run and heat in hours, mins, and seconds. 4. The sensor mixed program vs. schedule leaves very little in the way of customizing every run, such as fan cycle per hour in recirculating mode, or dehumidification + iaq ventilators. If I cannot get this thing to work, ti at least the bare minimum, like updating in a quick amount of time without deleting and reinstalling the app, I’m going to replace it as I don’t have the time to keep screwing around with something that should just work as advertised.

Plane and simple. The app is plane and simple, so if you like that ,it’s for you. There is the ability to set it to heat and cool at the same time for those days that start cold and you need some heat in the morning but want to maintain that temperature throughout the day as the temperatures outside rise above your comfort level. I consider my self to have the ability to figure technology out, but this one had me stumped with out much direction within the app but thanks to a reply to my previous review of it I was contacted by a representative and got it all figured out thank you very much because I was about to go buy something else. I still think the app could you some work but I will give it a chance. as of today I still miss my nest, although I don’t believe they have their customer service level up to yours thanks again for the help. I miss my nest thermostat but it has its own issues with operating my new HVAC system, and the Honeywell pro9000 is what my installer recommended.

NICE APPEARANCE BUT WON’T WORK. The Honeywell Home App has a very nice look and intuitive feel, but it simply doesn’t work. An app should firstly, function as intended. This app has many great features, but they are useless if they don’t work. The Geofence is why we purchased the thermostats in the first place. We have 3 of them in our vacation/rentals and the geofence refuses to work properly. They continuously register Away and refuse to update without having to open the app, and navigate back and forth and all around just to get them to see that we are in range. We also continuously get messages stating that the Geofence has sensed we are away, but the app could not update the thermostat. So frustrating!! Other issues we also experience are long delays in the temps updating, as many other reviews mention. And now after 1-1/2 years of frustration, the app just logs me out and I have to keep signing back into my account. I understand the need for security, however if your logged out of the app, no features will work! There are great features in this app, but we simply can’t use them due to poor programming of the app!

Has come very far from when we were first introduced to the app. The app was very fluid for our thermostats and with the introduction of runtime I think it was the perfect way to express a full look of heating and cooling over a period of time without having to wait for that email that was on the 20th of the month. If there could be a developer that would look into creating a way to incorporate into the app specific runtime based by the hour, it would make the “day” look of runtime a lot more detailed than just a solid bar indicating the total heating/cooling of that day. I feel the need of having that specific data will help with creating schedules for folks who want to save energy, letting them know the time of day that the most heating/cooling is done and letting them know ways they can decrease the amount of energy being consumed by lowering the temperature during those hours. There is so much potential having hourly data for runtime and I really look forward to it being incorporated into the runtime section of the app in the near future if it could be done.

Good when it works. I use this app on my iPhone to monitor & control 3 thermostats. When the app works, about 80% of the time it works well. The other 20% of the time i need to shut the app down & restart it. I have 2 problems with it, possibly connected. Here is an example of the problems: I leave the app up in the background & when I click to bring the app back up, sometimes the displayed outside temperature is incorrect. Example: I just opened the app & it showed my local temperature to be 33°. It’s actually 62°, it was 33° a couple days ago when I last used the app. Restarting the app gets the correct temperature. Second problem I’m having is that the inside temperature & whether it’s heating or not is sometimes incorrect. Again, restarting the app fixes it. I’ve communicated with Honeywell/Resideo & the folks who supply the weather information & they both point their fingers at the other. Seems like they need to talk with each other & fix the problem.

Latest Update Broke App. First I would like to say I have used my T5 thermostat along with the app for almost 6 years now. In that time I have had absolutely zero issues with the app. This latest update has broken the app. The app now freezes showing outdated info about current temp and settings anytime you leave it and try to come back, the only way to fix this that I have found is to force close the app and restart it. This has to be done almost EVERY TIME you want to use the app. It also randomly says too many login attempts causing you to have to completely log back into the app with your email and password about every day. This is just a couple of the new issues caused by this previous update. After testing with a few other iPhones I have, 3 out of 4 had the same exact issues all running the same app version (5.9.4) the one phone that did not have issues was running the older version (5.9). Until the app is fixed everyone is better off just using HomeKit to control their thermostat as is has not had any of these issues. Once a new update is issued to resolve these bugs I will update my review accordingly, Thank you. If anyone from app development team would like to get in touch with me to get more details about some of the bugs and what triggers them I would be more than happy to message them. Test devices and app versions used 2 iPhone 13 Pro Max - Both on 5.9.4 1 iPhone 12 Pro Max - 5.9 (Worked without issues) 1 IPhone 11 Pro Max - 5.9.4 1 iPhone 7 - 5.9.4

App has tons of bugs, thermostat follows suit. We finished building out house about a year and a half ago and put in 4 of these thermostats. From the get-go, the app had difficulty recognizing the divides, syncing with them, and staying synced. After a few months of continual babysitting it seemed to straighten itself out for a while (merciful, considering it was wintertime). We shut them off for the season and have not been able to get them working again this year. I’ve reset our router, run the repair protocol through the thermostats themselves, factory reset the thermostats, deleted and redownloaded the app...all to no avail and each step creates a new sticking point. Sometimes it can’t find a network, sometimes it goes all of the way through setup and then errors out at the very end, and now it won’t even begin setup because the app shows the connection to my thermostat but won’t ever proceed to the next screen when it’s tapped (it just highlights gray for a second, signifying it recognizes the tough, but does nothing). It’s highly disappointing to spend so much money on brand new state of the art thermostats and have them fail repeatedly due to poor programming on the app side, and to have no way to set them up and use them without this hateful app.

Terrible geofence and tech support. I’ve had a Honeywell Lyric thermostat for a few years now and up until recently, the interface between the app and thermostat worked like a charm. Recently however, (since they changed to the Honeywell home app) the geofence has been sporadic at best. When I get home after 9 hours away at work to find that the thermostat never turned down and my house has been toasty warm all day, it is beyond frustrating. If it only happened once or twice I would have an issue with it, but it has occurred many times now. I tried contacting tech support (because they were extremely helpful when I purchased the thermostat) only to be left waiting for a rep for over an hour with no response (three times now). I also tried chatting with a tech support rep with a similar hour plus wait with no response. My final attempt at emailing tech support was responded to after about a week (despite the fact that their web site says they will respond within 48 hours). Unfortunate the email response did not provide a solution so I responded to the email with additional information. That was over a week ago and I have still not received a response. I would have highly recommended the Honeywell Lyric and app in the past. However, after this experience I would recommend another brand with more stable service and more responsive tech support.

Worked ‘fine’ for the most part, now not so much. The app has always had issues, especially in regards to saving temp changes I make manually. Constantly having to fully exit and reopen the app to make sure my changes took. Not a huge deal. However recently when I open it I get a pop up telling me the date and time on my device are inaccurate and to fix it before using the app. The date and time are not wrong at all. So I close the app, swipe it out of my background usage and open again. I don’t get the pop up after that, I get the pin request and when I enter my pin it goes to a forever loading screen, forcing me to close out of the app again. When I open it it asks for a full email + password login. I do that and sometimes it comes up with the date/time thing again, other times it does not. The only workaround I found so far (and it’s only worked the once, as I just tried it for the first time) is changing the time on my phone to 24 hour time instead of 12 hour time. I hope this (and the other random bugs) get fixed soon. Other than these issues it works well enough.

Lazy developer response to my original review. Taking the star rating down to 1 from previously given 2 because of the lazy response from the developer. I got a response saying I was on an older app version. While technically true as the new app version was released literally the morning following the review I wrote, it’s lazy and shrugging off responsibilities to do an actual bug investigation. My apps get updated automatically and the Honeywell app did as well the morning the new version came out. I’ve had this issue SINCE WE INSTALLED HONEYWELL which was 14 months ago. Any decent developer or a QA team would have probably done a better investigation into the logs rather than just check app version. But I guess that’s the kind of quality we can expect from Honeywell looking at some of the other reviews as well. —-———————————————————————- I’m almost inclined to give this a 1 star rating. Every single time, and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME I change temperature from the app, it does not register. I have to try multiple times and kill/reopen the app a couple of times for the app to send the message to the thermostat to change temp. I have 2 T6 thermostats and it’s the same issue with both. Changing temp directly on the thermostat works perfectly fine so it’s the app failing to communicate properly with the thermostat. Every other thermostat company has figured out how not to make this an issue. Why can’t Honeywell?

Good thermostat, bad application. When I first got the thermostat it worked pretty well with the application. Where we live we basically don’t have any cellphone service so I blamed all of the little communication issues on that. Lately the application has basically stopped paying attention to my wife’s phone. It’s pretty good about recognizing my phone, but thinks that my wife is home all the time which defeats the purpose of it in the first place. At this point I’ve just removed her phone from the thermostat and now it’s back to working OK. Update: after a handful of updates it’s working better. I’m back to being generally happy with it, although very regularly I get a message something along the lines of “we saw you crossed the geofence but we couldn’t change your settings” which only requires me to open the application and then it’s ok. Edit: I’ve had this thermostat for 3 years and have had the same small, but annoying, problems the entire time. Still regularly logs me out and says “not responding”

Could be so much better. This thermostat is pretty awful. Took me several tries and HOURS to get it programmed and I’m still not sure if it works correctly. It is difficult to program or figure out and the manual is not helpful at all. The programming doesn’t work by DAY as implied on the package. You can only set all the weekdays at the same program. So if you have a set meeting or something say on Wednesday, you can’t program Wednesday any different than all the other days of the week. Just got the app set up hut it took HOURS and it is completely unclear if a/c is now ruled completely by my geofence or if the settings are still in place and working. The technology exists to make this a much better piece of equipment but it seems more like people who don’t use a thermostat designed it. Suggest you get a real user involved and perhaps someone from apple when you design the next version because of apple ever decides to design a thermostat they will put you out of business

Poorly designed, difficult to connect, repeated problems, slow. This app is really bad. The first part is the simple act of having a password that can be saved automatically by an IPhone. (Note to Honeywell designers: Hey dummies. All the other apps work with an iPhone so the login info is saved. It really helps the user, so using your app doesn’t mean a constant string of password resets. Do better.) It took two days to get a thermostat connected, and about twenty attempts. Frequent timeouts as the app was trying to connect to the thermostat. Much of the problem was just a poor design for the app interface to the user - very few instructions, and the important instructions are literally wrong, and poorly worded to induce confusion. The worst part is, you simply cannot use a LYRIC thermostat until it has been set up using the app. There is no option to work directly with the thermostat to run your house air conditioner or furnace. So for days during a nasty heat wave, I was unable to use the brand new air conditioner that had just been installed. Honeywell, you have a 24/7 hotline to help people with your app. If you just start from scratch and make the app better, you wouldn’t need the hotline. Do better.

Updated review. UPDATE: after I connected my WiFi to my preinstalled new home WAPs I have had no issues with my thermostat and the app. My guess is that it’s something to do with having a stable internet connection. Now if I make manual changes on the app or thermostat it does revert to schedule on time and with no issues. The only thing I don’t like about the app is that it is set up for multiple devices, so rather than just opening a thermostat app, I have to click through to make changes to the air’s fan settings. Every time a manual change or any change is made to the thermostat, it does not revert to schedule!!! Even a manual thermostat can do this!! It’s not just me, I asked my sister who has the same thermostat and she has the same situation. The thermostat came with the house and I appreciate being able to change my thermostat on the app when I’m upstairs and the thermostat is downstairs, but this is such a pain. I’m tempted to buy a Nest, which is much easier to use or just a manual thermostat.

Honeywell needs to get their house in order!. I have three (3) Lyric Round 2nd Gen thermostats in two (2) separate homes. Everything worked fine for a couple years with their App and HomeKit. In the last six (6) months, then Honeywell App (iOS latest) and via Apple HomeKit has failed with numerous problems almost on a daily basis! Customer Support is a joke with weird complicated “work arounds” to try to solve simple problems like thermostat being set to “Auto” temperature. Really? That was their main selling point two years ago along with Apple HomeKit integration. In the last six (6) months some of the thermostats would be seen and work on Apple HomeKit and others would not. I HAVE HAD TO RESET (factory setting and reconfigure) each of these three (3) thermostats numerous times! I think it’s poor Honeywell App integration coding with HomeKit, third (3rd) party customer support (Honeywell Corp selling Division) and lack of WANT by Honeywell to continuing to support said product, even though it has a five (5) year warranty! I have everything from window blinds, outlets, etc that is a whole Apple HomeKit “smart home”. The Honeywell thermostats and their App integration with Apple HomeKit is the ONLY problem devices I have. Hmmmmmm So Honeywell, in this environment, and stated above, who had the issue?

Can you fix the issue with configuring your thermostat?. I am using the Lyric thermostat, and while I love the features like geofencing, and it does a great job handling the aspects of managing my AC/heating, the connecting to WiFi and configuring the thermostat is horrible! It is something that should take 5 minutes or less, but instead it has taken me over half an hour waiting mainly for the app to communicate with the thermostat, which the thermostat times out and I need to restart the process by force quitting the app, and relaunch, re-navigate to the WiFi settings on the thermostat, and start the never loading process about 3 more times until it finally shows my WiFi and starts to work. When it is working, I love the setup, and love the product. When it suddenly stops working on my network, or it starts to show the WiFi is disconnected symbol, or I get a message in the App staying that the thermostat disconnected from WiFi, I get really frustrated. That is saying a lot, because I am a tech savvy person, who is not frustrated easily. The setup is the only reason why I am giving the app a one star. If not for this glaring problem it would have a 5 star rating. So please! Fix this issue!

4-Stars for function but could use some innovation that Honeywell is known for. I recently installed 2 EA of 17 SEER 2-Stage Trane units and they work perfectly with the T9 controllers and sensors. The app performs as required to operate 2-stage systems, easy to setup, and easy to use. Coming from a Nest system, there is some functionality that would be helpful. (1) Capability to lock the panel with a pin from the app, (2) add Works with Vivint for basic temperature and home/away/vacation control and (3) set schedules to allow for the option to give priority to specific user geofencing. Since the units capture outside temperature and inside humidity, a useful feature would be to be able to set a unique Eco mode option to maintain an average temperature based on +/- of outdoor temperature. Maybe the same for humidity too. Besides these innovative opportunities, the app UX or user experience is slim to load fast and the controls you need most are easily accessible to change right up front. Looking forward to future updates.

Fix this bug please!!. I almost always have to enter the password now to access the app’s function. I can live with this, though I don’t understand that level of security for a thermostat, but what I can’t tolerate is having to log in, then see a home screen with no controls, necessitating me to close out the app and log in a second time to get the app to work. I see that others have complained about this recently. Please fix. Also, I keep setting my filter reminder correctly, but it keeps resetting to dates and frequencies that are incorrect. Annoying. UPDATE: After waiting for this to get fixed for over two months, I called Resideo Customer Service at the end of February and was told I should delete and then reinstall the app, so I did. THAT DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE!! The rep I spoke to was nice enough, but when I outlined the problem of having to use the passcode twice each time, he said that this not come up before. REALLY? Almost every other review/complaint since the last update a couple of months ago has addressed this as an issue. PLEASE!! Just fix this and issue a new update.

Huge Performance Downgrade from TC App. TL;DR: Keep the old app, Total Connect. Too much of a delay; massive headache. iPhone 13 Pro: Compared to the Total Connect app, this is a huge downgrade. Weather takes forever to update on the main page but my biggest gripe with the app is that it is VERY slow to update and respond to thermostat changes. For example, when I open the app, it will be stuck on the last known settings (mode, temp, etc) - even if the settings are outdated (e.g., I changed the temp on the screen since I last used the app or someone else changed them on the app). If I change the settings at that point and then close the app, no changes will be registered (even thought the app temporarily reflects the change). Instead, I have to open the app, click into one of the thermostats, go back to home, minimize the app and continuously navigate back to the app until I see the settings update. At that point I can finally make a change and it's a >50% chance that the change will successfully apply. It's a guessing game if I don't know what the current settings are. Instead, I went back to the TC app which updates immediately and shows the settings in real time. Hopefully, they don't fully retire the TC app. Otherwise, there are plenty of other smart home devices to choose from.

Good idea. SUPER big riddled.. Go to create account. Can’t. End up calling tech support which is not accessible in app without sign in. They confirm it’s app error not allowing account creation. They make one for me. Go to set up water leak detector. Takes full app reboot twice in order to finally get WiFi to finish connecting on device. Then the device itself says it’s 20 degrees warmer than it is in room per other thermo device in room as test and humidity reads 20% lower. This is initial reading. Maybe it will update more accurately in a bit. But I go to update alert settings.... and it’s so buggy that when I go to back out of alert settings it gives me an alert that it may take 24 HOURS to change how I get alerts from the device... AND then I get stuck in a loop where it just reloads the same settings page after each time I try to back out of the settings and it gives me this alert... requiring yet another full app reboot... off to a bad start Honeywell... will give your product longer than a few hours to redeem itself. But, so far an underwhelming initial user experience.

App no longer works. I have two T6 Pro thermostats that have bee functioning flawlessly with the Honeywell Lyric app for last two years. Then last week noticed app no longer gave correct status readings ( showed units running when in fact they were off , and current and set temperature values were reversed). Checked for new updates but none available last week. Decided to delete one of the thermostats from app and add it again. Big mistake. I cannot get through the install process. App gets to point to select network name and then nothing. iPhone setting shows it available but no options from there. I have tried deleting the app, backup data, reset thermostat to factory settings, nothing seems to help get the app to add the device. Saw new version yesterday and downloaded it but same issue. Not supposed to be this difficult to work with an app. It is now Friday December 4, 1:30 pm central standard time and have been on hold on phone with customer support for 1 hour and 55 minutes with no indication when they will get to me or if there is even anyone at the office. Not the kind of product behavior and customer support I expected.

Resideo has made this app worse. As most people have commented the Honeywell Home as was slow and occasionally had problems. I have over 20 thermostats for my house with radiant heating zones and air handlers, humidifiers and dehumidifiers all using the T10 thermostat. So I really rely in this app. Despite the slow nature in the last 6 months the app was working pretty well aside from taking time to update the current temperature when you opened it up. Now that Resideo has taken over it essentially is non functional. When you open the app it doesn’t show all my thermostats right away. Then some disappear and reappear again. With over 20 thermostats it becomes difficult to review the temperatures etc when the thermostat data doesn’t show up consistently. Then changes I make to the temperature are not registering either. I deleted the app and downloaded the latest version. That didn’t fix the problem at all. Half my thermostats still don’t show up. Amazingly on my other devices that haven’t switched to Resideo yet, the app works as well as it did previously. Resideo. If you don’t fix this problem within the next few weeks you are going to loose a lot of customers.

Terrible in all aspects!!. This thermostat was installed when we bought a new a/c about 3 months ago. On the colder nights we normally turn our heater on so that if the house temp drops to 75 or below the heater kicks on to maintain the 75 degree setting. EVERY time my husband or I do this we wake up in the middle of the night sweating!! The temperature turns up to 83!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME! The manual is useless unless you speak robot. My husband called the a/c company who installed it and they told him some directions on how to fix it, which didnt work because we couldn’t even find the buttons they told us to push on the thermostat. I downloaded the app thinking in may shed some light on the problem I am having. So I register my account, confirm my email. The app wants me to register my device by pushing the temperature on the middle of my thermostat screen for 5 seconds!! Of course this didn’t work because the thermostat is not a touch screen. I felt like a complete dolt for standing in front of the thermostat touching a screen over and over that literally did nothing. It was like touching a computer screen from the 90’s and expecting it to actually respond!! So frustrated!!! All I want is for my children to be warm in their beds at night and Honeywell sure can’t seem to make this happen. Very frustrated!!!

T5 thermostat. Typically, we have zero issues with the app or our thermostat. Lately, it has been quite frustrating. The geofencing feature has a mind of its own and seems to work when it wants. The app stopped recognizing our thermostat resulting in me having to set it up again. Not a big deal, right? Well, I spent 30-40 minutes standing in front of the thermostat going through the setup process in the app a good 10 times. System still doesn’t work and the app shows I have no devices setup. I eventually gave up and will try another time. Extremely frustrating. I got to the end of the process several times and was prompted to configure the device and then register it (which I have already in the past). It would think for about 3 minutes and eventually give me an error message. Then would say setup incomplete and prompt me to start over... Honeywell, never had issues before. What’s going on and how can I make this function properly again? This is the second smart thermostat I have had made by Honeywell. First one melted and almost caught fire... thank you

Lyric round won’t work with Resideo. The resideo app and Honeywell thermostats, apparently don’t work together. I bought a brand new lyric smart thermostat, three months ago. It was installed properly with brand new heating and air conditioning system. When I go to set up the app with the thermostat, everything seems fine at first; The app and thermostat connect to each other. Then bring to the end. It says “ everything is connected” “now just register your device “But then, when you go to sign into your Resideo account and register the device it says” The resideo service is temporary unavailable at this time. Please check again later.” if I hit “OK “ again, it tells me “ the data cannot be read because it’s in the end, correct format”. This prevents me from registering my device. And if it’s unregistered, it’s useless. You can’t use the app, you can’t use the features and you can barely use the thermostat manually. You can’t change the temperature; it stays at 70 all the time. I’ve tried this numerous times. Tried all the tricks and tips in the book. Reset my router. Download Bluetooth most current firmware. And checked all the settings. Resideo and a Honeywell are worthless.

Nice app and now it’s fast too. The app looks pretty good and setup was easy. Programming a schedule is a bit fidgety, but I don’t need to change it often so that’s fine. After that it runs the schedule and everything operates the way it should. Update: The issue below was bothering me for months, but customer support had me delete and reinstall the app and that seems to have fixed it! Original issue: The one big issue is that when I open the app it takes about 30 seconds to update to the current status of my T9 thermostat. Every once in a while it updates in just a couple seconds but usually it is slow. During that time, I have to keep the app open and just wait. If I switch to a different app and come back later it does not update in the background. If I quit the app completely and relaunch I still have to wait. So it does work, but it’s quite annoying when all I want to do is a quick status check or bump the temp up or down. I have a long delay where I just stare at out-of-date info and can’t use my phone.

Horrible App / Wonderful Devices/Thermostat. For some reason, the app is the most sluggish, buggy, and frustrating app out of all of the “smart” home apps I use. If the app is left open, it will freeze when you go back in, and then tell you it couldn’t log you in. Then other times you open fresh, and you need to log back in, again. As if this thing is so important, like move stock options from one account to another or locking down a democrat email server. Either way, it just is unreliable and aggravating. The integration with Ring and Alexa is also so poor, that they can’t make up the difference. If it wasn’t for the solid thermostat itself and the room sensors, I would have moved on to another platform two years ago. Fix the stupid thing please. Just use it for a few months and try to change the schedule a few times a month when you’re going to bed or other times, you’ll figure out these little ghosts in the machine.

Works great after powering off and on - update. Original post: This app used to work perfectly with our Lyric T5. Recently, the thermostat started to ignore the app. The thermostat is connected to WiFi because I can see the correct settings and current room temperature on my app. The problem happens when I try to change something on the thermostat via the app. For example, if I try to turn the thermostat from cool to heat, it will not accept the change. I open the app, select heat, select save, and it looks like it worked...except when I reopen the app, it goes back to cool on its own, the thermostat will not accept app changes, only manual changes keyed into the thermostat actually change its settings. Update: I removed power from the Lyric T5 (either take it off the wall or flip the circuit breaker). Leave power off for over a minute. Once powered back on my Lyric automatically found the internet, reconnected, and now this app works perfectly. Very quick response from developer and their solution worked!

This new version is horrible.. I don’t know what to say. Before they “updated“ this application it worked fine. Now I would have to say half the time it won’t even connect. I am at a point where I have to use the thermostat manually. The whole reason I bought this thermostat is because I can have the main unit wired in where it was originally installed an inconvenient location, and then have a remote unit in the room I actually spent time in. This has worked well for quite a while. However it is no longer the case. One of the things I dislike about this app is that there is no access to customer service. There is no email there is no chat there is no phone number how can I resolve problems if I cannot talk to customer service? I am actively looking for another way to interface with this thermostat. It looks like I may be able to do so through Ring, but I have yet to find out. If this application is all there is I’m probably just gonna stop using it completely and go find a different thermostat. This whole experience has changed from one of being very positive to one of being very negative simply because of an update to the application. These people need to get their act together they need to provide customer service access in the app. Even if they do it’s nowhere easily found. so, as for now I’m pretty much done.

After many failed attempts. The app is designed to Geofence your location. Which it never does correctly. I have called opened and tickets on this issue. Support can’t fix it. I turned it off and it still sends alerts to me that I crossed the fence set. Lately the app has been not communicating with the Lyric. This is frustrating. Having to pull it off the wall and then back on to restart. I the app now deleted my device so I have to set it back up again. Get through setting up Wi-Fi and then when it wants to connect to the Honeywell server it says it’s not communicating or the server is down. I’ve tried to call support which used to be 24 seven. Now It has changed to a limited time which is central time and I am in a Pacific Time zone which doesn’t help when you work. I also tried looking up Self help support online the website only uses desktop view and no mobile view which is frustrating cause the app is on your phone/ tablet not a computer. The Honeywell team is dropping the ball on this device and service quality. Why Honeywell?

Decent, but has bugs.. If it weren’t for the two huge bugs, I’d give it 5 stars for ease of use. Thermostat is the T10. 1). The iOS version that I use on two devices won’t update the weather from my T10 thermostat unless I completely close the app via the app switcher, and reopen it! If I simply swipe away, and revisit the app later in day, which is normal on an iPhone, it still shows the weather from earlier, and doesn’t pull the current weather from the Tstat. 2). It seems to arbitrarily create a daily schedule alongside the group schedule that I set up. I have completely reset the schedule, deleted it, and started from scratch, several times, only to find a few days later that it spawned an additional daily schedule for Monday or another day. Very annoying. I have removed the T10 and replaced it to reboot it each time I reset and deleted the schedule, to make sure I was starting from a clean state. One more issue in the app, the humidification window protection setting feature is totally opposite of the written and online instructions! The app indicates that on its scale of 1-10, 10 is the most protective, ie. It will lower how much humidification the system allows to minimize frost buildup. However, all other instructions, written and online indicate the opposite, that a lower number is more protective. Which is it?

No more trips downstairs!. UPDATE: My original rating of three stars got the developer’s attention. I received an email from them through apple. I followed their directions. Deleted the app and reinstalled it. So far I’m able to access the main screen without several attempts. The functionality is good. I’m able to modify the schedule, change temps and method, and update the filter reminder. It’s nice to not have to come downstairs to change the temperature. I’ve upgraded this to five stars due to the change in performance and the customer service. ORIGINAL: I am able to control my thermostat through the app. The only reason for the lower rating is the app doesn’t always open. I have to try 2-3 times before I’m in and viewing the main screen. I have the iPhone 13 pro max and all updates are current. My usage is mainly within my home or within a 10 mile radius.

Has Promise but Lacks Many Features and Support. I came from a pre-Google Nest and chose Honeywell because of the large variety of thermostats to meet my various needs. The app was clean and simple, but after using it for almost two years, I’ve realized it’s too simple and their support doesn’t care. The app lately has gotten very slow. It takes a minute or two for the app to display the current temperatures or settings of my thermostats. Nest let you set a schedule but override that with geolocation. Nest also ran the fan for a forced-air system for several minutes after the burners or compressor turned off to push that bonus heat or cooling around, saving additional money. Honeywell has neither feature. When I’ve asked about why I can’t have both geolocation and a schedule for my thermostats, I’m told “you currently can only have one or the other” with no explanation why or timeframe for it to get added. In fact, it doesn’t sound like they have any plan at all to implement these features. Honeywell Home is not actually Honeywell anymore, but was spun off to Resideo. Maybe Resideo doesn’t have the resources to properly support the app or the motivation to care, but now I’m stuck with a worse and worse app that hasn’t added features in…ever? and support that doesn’t want to actually listen to its customers.

Mediocre. First, the app works. I can control my thermostat from anywhere in the world (assuming my wifi works, but that’s a different review). However, there are really two things I don’t like about it. The two main advantages of this app should be maintaining my programmed ‘stat while away and quick reads in the middle of the night (I got chilly last night and wanted to know what the temp was in the house). Well, the programming feature is buried somewhere. I’d rather have it on the main page. Maybe it’s because I only have one thermostat to control that I’m annoyed by this. If I had more than one I’d want to know which one I was controlling so I can give the benefit of the doubt here. The biggest problem is that I wear reading glasses and have to fumble for them if I want to read the house temp in the middle of the night. Make everything bigger and more obvious. When you wake up at 2am cold and need to know these details, it shouldn’t require reading glasses and focus energy. The digits are too small even with my cheaters (and my eyes aren’t THAT bad, just bad enough).

Inadequate app alert. Settings menu limited.. By sheer coincidence I woke up and noticed a visual water leak badge alert on my phone. I never heard an audible alert from my phone. Went to the detector and heard the alarm on the detector itself (all was dry though, so either this is extremely sensitive or it was a false alarm). I then checked the app settings thinking maybe I’d muted something accidentally during set up, but this was not the case— I found no way to adjust or specify the alert types. In my view my phone should be blaring a loud alarm when a leak is detected. It’s an emergency, right? A badge alert does no good whatsoever, and if there was an audible alert, it was too short and didn’t even arouse me from sleep. This is very concerning, because if I hadn’t woken up by coincidence myself and happened to 1) check my phone and 2) notice the tiny little badge notification on my phone, there could have been thousands and thousands of dollars worth of damage taking place and I’d have no knowledge, being I was out of earshot of the alarm on the detector itself. Everything else has seemed to functions well and reliably, so this has shaken my confidence in the device.

Used to work great. They have updated this app recently, maybe the 2nd to the last update basically messed this app up. Like what the others are experiencing, the scheduling function has been a nightmare since. I used to be able to change it and it will follow the schedule properly (or even if I leave the schedule alone). Now, the schedule won’t change until you go to the app and close it, open it again and maybe if you are lucky it will show “following schedule”, otherwise, you have to close and reopen the app several times. It is always showing “no schedule”. Also, before when I click and adjust the temp, it will give me an option to either hold for a period of time, hold temporarily or remove hold, now it does not do that all the time, sometimes I click out of the main page where you adjust the temp and go back and it will show up, most of the time I have to close the app out a few times to be able to get these options to show up. Also, I did not change any of the settings in the app nor the thermostats and the only thing that I change constantly is the temp and schedule which I used to do all the time and the app always follows the schedule. Obviously something got messed up on the updates, I wish they leave the app alone, I understand that it is necessary for security purposes but sometimes if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Do not need the bells and whistles, just app the works because it used to. Please fix the bugs soon, its a great app when it actually works.

Outdoor remote sensor values not shown in app. I have four of the new Honeywell T10+ thermostats, with various T10+ remote indoor and outdoor sensors paired with each thermostat. Each thermostat device on the wall does show the remote outdoor temperature from my actual outdoor sensor (not from AccuWeather) on their default screen. They also show that outdoor sensor in their "Devices & Sensors" screen along with the indoor sensors, displaying their temperature and humidity values. However, Residio app only shows the AccuWeather data on the home page, and only INSIDE temp from each thermostat. Going into the PRIORITY screen of any thermostat in the app shows only the temperatures (without humidity values) from only the inside sensors (should also show humidity% for each) and nothing from the outdoor sensor. Clearly, therr should be an OUTSIDE data line on that screen for any thermostat paired with such a sensor. Also, going into the SETTINGS, DEVICES & SENSORS screen in the app still only shows the indoor sensors, now correctly showing both the temperature and humidity for each. Clearly, the outdoor sensor should also be listed on this page with both values.

Suddenly offline and my house is freezing. My thermostat decided to go offline at nine this evening. I live in Alaska. It’s currently zero degrees Fahrenheit outside and getting colder. This literally happened apropos of nothing. We’ve had the thermostat for years with no issues. I tried to reset the Wi-Fi on the thermostat and suddenly, my app is telling me to connect to a network beginning with a T, while my thermostat is telling me to connect to a network beginning with an F. I find the network displayed on my thermostat and am able to connect, but the app won’t connect. This thing keeps shutting my furnace off. I’ve given up trying to reconnect the thermostat-I’ve tried factory reset, deleting thermostat from my app and setting it up as a new one….nothing. I can’t even get this thing to stop telling my furnace to shut off! Which means I am unable to keep the heat on manually. And again, I’d like to reiterate here THAT I LIVE IN ALASKA. We may not be “off the grid”, but it’s certainly starting to feel like I live in an igloo. Customer support isn’t available for another ten hours, and there are no stores open within hundreds of miles so I can’t even run out and buy another cheap thermostat just to get the heat working. I’m beyond furious.

Customer Dissatisfaction = 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I have had my system for two years now. This month trouble trouble trouble. I’ve had trouble last year with the thermostat on the wall go blank but the installer Royal Air said they fixed it. Now the thermostat has gone blank three times this past week and dead today. So I updated the app. No help there. My last system in the same house worked great for 10 years in a house I bought brand new. I just thought it would be time to upgrade to a two speed system, Carrier. My wife is completely disappointed we got a new system. She freezes in the winter and I sweat now this summer. Why would the thermostat go blank???? This is high tech??? I would rather have the old mercury bubble thermostat and no other interference. We have not advanced anything by going wireless. We have gone backwards. Thank God no one has tried to reinvent the wheel by making it run on WiFi and logic language!!!! Someone will try! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Mostly good. Installation was a breeze for me. I already had the blue C wire. Not as pretty as Nest or Ecobee, but nicer than my previous Honeywell internet thermostat, and much better priced. Set-up was a breeze, as well, with zero hitches. Obviously other have had major headaches. Not sure what accounts for the difference. Geofencing could be improved as the App only allows for one perimeter. I’d like it to change the temp when I leave and arrive my house, but also when I leave work so it can warm or cool the house by the time I get home. Apple Home (or HomeKit as many people call it) does this, but it’s a bit confusing to use two apps instead of one. My iPhone was consuming the battery quickly, until I turned off location services on the Lyric app and only allowed while using the App on the Apple Home app. It still knows where I’m at even even if I don’t have either app loaded, but battery usage is much better. Honeywell sent me a few “appreciate your comments” reply’s to my posting elsewhere. Hopefully this will translate into app improvement, and not just a corporate demonstration of responsiveness to make me feel good.

Glitchy - Learn the loopholes. This app is definitely better than nothing! I enjoy being able to adjust the temperature and it does integrate with Alexa for temperature control, which is pretty nice. However, the app takes between 20 60 seconds to update with the current information on your thermostat. If you don’t realize this, which I did not for a very long time, you can often adjust the temperature and it doesn’t take. If you open the app and start adjusting the temperature, and then close the app… It just doesn’t work. When it finally downloads the current temperature, it will overwrite whatever you changed. I often work out of town and that’s the reason that I bought the thermostat. I would often remember that I had not adjusted the thermostat the day after I left, and it was very frustrating to think that I had changed the temperature and then come home and it was just running the normal schedule as though I was at home instead of being on hold for a week. All that to say… The base functionality of the app is to adjust the temperature while away. The fact that there is no indication of when the app is refreshing or that it may not take your changes… That just is unbelievable. Add a spinning circle or an hourglass icon, that says refreshing your data and then no one is confused. Also… Maybe work on how to get the information to flow a little faster than 20 seconds. That’s a long time when all you wanna do is adjust the temperature.

Buggy. The app make me put my login details randomly, some times multiple logins are required in an hour. Pretty damn annoying, especially when trying to turn the heater on, bleary eyed on a cold morning. App also hangs after putting in passcode at times. All round inconsistent, poorly developed app.

Honeywell wifi disappointed. I hate having to enter a pin every time, then wait for it to think about giving me access. It is so much more convenient to use a phone or iPad to adjust the temperature of the thermostat. The thermostat seems to go off line quite regularly, meaning I need to adjust temperatures at the thermostat, and also to repair the device. The automatic temperature and time setting, works well for me, but because of geofencing, the rest of y family can’t be warm if I’m not home. I would like to turn geofencing off and use the automatic programming all the time, but this is not an option.

Lyric round controller. App will not connect to wifi during set up so no smart functions can be used, please update ,why make a device that is not compatible with many routers?

Missing postcodes for Australia for home location setup. App ok except it doesn’t recognise postcodes in Australia unless they are 4000 series (Queensland), 5000 series (South Australia or 6000 (Western Australia). If you try and use any NSW (2000 series) - for example 2001 for Sydney CBD - or any Victoria (3000 series) as your home address to setup the App it won’t proceed with the setup. Honeywell please fix this problem.

Missed Opportunity. I am using the App to manage a Lyric T5 thermostat running a ducted air conditioner (HVAC) so this review relates only to that capability in the app. I live in Australia, and purchased the T5 unit from a US supplier. I thought I was in trouble when the app setup asked for a US postcode. I gave it one to get started. This caused the time to set incorrectly on the thermostat but happily a bit later on I was able to change the Timezone and all works well. The T5 thermostat HVAC parameter setup through the app was simple to follow and quick to complete. The app makes it easy to adjust your heating/cooling schedule which is a distinct improvement on earlier not so smart Honeywell thermostats. It is also easy, using the app, to adjust the thermostat settings including temperature at any time, locally or remotely. I have not tried the geofencing option which allows automatic switching between temperature settings as your leave or enter a set distance from your house. What’s missing? The app knows when the HVAC system is heating or cooling, however, there has been no attempt in the app (or I have not found it) to estimate or graph energy usage. This would be a very helpful option so users could see what the cost benefit of lowering the heating temperature or raising the cooling temperature would be. The bottom line is that the app is simple to use, works well both locally and remotely but does not capitalise on its potential to monitor energy usage. Perhaps the app writers could add this feature to future updates?

Terrible. So bad not even worth my time writing a description. Pathetic.

Finicky. Keeps losing contact with WiFi, frustrating and time consuming

Great to control thermostat from phone. I like being able to control the thermostat from my phone, especially if I want to change the temperature at night and don’t want to go back downstairs or when I forgot to turn off the AC on a cool evening when I want to open windows. The filter reminder kinda stinks because it sends one message and then disappears. It’s not enough for me to remember to buy a filter and change it so I keep using Reminders instead. On that note, it would be cool if there was a place to store your filter’s size so you can remember what size to buy when you’re in the aisle. I’m usually *pretty* sure but being able to double-check would come in handy!

Problème affichage. Quand je regarde le tableau du temps d’utilisation je vois qu’à partir de 9h et plus! Impossible de voir plus bas! Bizarre quand même

Great. Great app ..works flawlessly .

Bonjour. Présentement je suis très satisfait 10/10

Wonderful application. Great app with amazing UX. Needs a dark mode

Basic info only. Would be nice to have more details as to performance, on times etc. Just gives your temperatures.

Unable to connect. Unable to connect to my water and freeze detector. Tried many times, says it is pairing, but then says connection lost.

New update is no good. I recently updated my app. Now I cannot connect to my device. I tried resetting everything from scratch like a new install and now I cannot ‘“select the thermostat’s name” even though it pops up. Not sure what’s going on but until they fix this bug I cannot give it a good review. I am using an IPhone 10 if that’s relevant

Terrible App. Won’t connect and freezes.

Great investment. I’m currently monitoring my house in Canada from my vacation spot in Mexico. It gives me peace of mind.

Still no dark mode. Intermittent sync issues.. Still no dark mode. Sometimes doesn’t show latest from Thermostat and I have to force-close app to refresh.

Out of country - security. Away from home for holiday during extreme cold spell. Can check on temperature setting of home at my convenience. Puts my mind at ease, allows me to monitor temperature quickly without disturbing my neighbor who physically checks on my home. Good value for the product and WiFi control AM

Support iphonex. Please fix this app to support iphonex ASAP. Useless app right now.

App says critical alert. The app says critical alert. It states mobile device time and date is incorrect, which is not true. Reinstalled several times but the problem does not go away and the app does not work.

Pas très bon!. N’est pas fiable…. Toujours manqué… reconfiguration nécessaire régulièrement.

Won’t work after time change. We had time change last week and the app refuses to work. Keeps telling me that I have to change the time settings in my phone before it will do anything else. So frustrating!!

Resido. So convenient and easy to use I absolutely love it

Cannot see home network. I go through all the steps carefully but when it displays the network list it does not include the home network even though the router is right next to it. Adding it manually doesn’t work with correct password and I tried 5 times. USELESS.

New thermostats. Setting up and installing using Resideo was easy and complete. Highly recommend.

Works sometimes. The geofencing does not always work

Setup process stops. Unable to complete setup in this app for my T6 thermostat. When I have to choose the thermostat in the app, you cannot click on the name and you get stuck on this page. All I can do is cancel the setup. Hopefully, Apple HomeKit works but I always have a message to register on the thermostat. Fix please !!

Doesn’t work well. My heat failed while I was away. The app was set to provide an alert if temp dropped below 16 degrees C. Dropped to 12 degrees and no alert…

Doesn't work: don't bother onstalling!. Have usrd the spp for 6 years. Now at the end of the procedure to syc app with thermostat it sayes can't install at this time. Tried 10 times. Doesn't complete installation!!

Sometimes doesn’t work. Sometimes thermostat won’t follow schedule

Resideo app. Very handy

Passcode !. Why force me to create a passcode on my phone so that I can use a water leak detector. !! Ridiculous!! Thanks for nothing !!

Painful. Just doesn't work. Everything is connected and configurate but the app can't find the thermostat saying it's offline when it's not... hate this product

Keep going offline. Problem with keeping the thermostat connected to my home wifi

Ne fonctionne pas.. Impossible d’aller au-delà de la page de connexion. Gros bug à fixer svp.

New to Residio and this App. Why the need for 2 applications? Why doesn’t Residio allow my to configure my Honeywell Thermostat for metric temperatures? Why doesn’t the Residio app allow me to dim or brighten or in fact, turn off the display ? Why didn’t I use a video service to look at videos of the app and thermostat in action before I spent a ton of money on the device? Sigh….not thrilled….hoping for great firmware updates to improve the app and the thermostat…..soon

Dumb app name. Why is this called Resideo? Silly name that is forgettable. Should have left it as Honeywell home.

HomeKit. Doesn’t support HomeKit in 2020, when annonced it will be support in 2019

Amazing. Worth every penny

Pain in the rear. See above

It fails often but mostly works well. I also don’t like the opening photo.

App malfunction. App will not indicate local weather as it should. Any fix??

Paul. I guess the app is ok but it is hard to trust it because it is inconsistent. There are at least two ways to view a room’s temperature. You might think both would show the same number. They don’t. So which, if any are right. Dunno.

NEW UPDATE HAS BRICKED THIS APP. The update on Nov 30 has made caused nothing but problems on iPhone. I am not able to select my thermostat in order to change my wifi info!! So frustrating, please fix!!

App never works. You can call customer service and no one helps.

Terrible App. Before they changed their interface this was a great app. Now the new changes have completely messed with my thermostat. I can’t begin to count the number of times the new app forgets I even have a Lyric and completely deletes it from my devices and then when I change it to auto (hot or cold) it doesn’t communicate the information to my thermostat on the same network. It either changes it to hot or cold and stays on that setting, then hanged it to only hot or cold on my app. Get it together and fix this or change it back to the old interface guys..

Buggy application. Lost often content to the network, no way to reset wifi correctly with my thermostat For now this application is unusable

Awesome app. First class app and technical support.

Used to work. It’s been weeks since the last time the app let me get in. Since then I’m unable to access the app. Sometimes it’s just the homepage and sometimes it’s the access page but the keyboard doesn’t appears. So I’m unable to access. I deleted the app to download it again and nothing. Unable to download it on my Iphone 12.

Not reliable. Can’t depend on the furnace to come on when coming back into the geofence or to check furnace when away from home. App freezes up and I have to delete it and download again.

Works fine on iPad Pro but buggy on iPhone 10. Not workin on iPhone 10

Great app. Wish the font size could be adjusted by user.

Password. Reset email does not get sent It might be a good idea to fix your website. It is not intuitive or user-friendly.

No connection. The app and thermostat will not connect

Connections. Beaucoup de misère a se connecter à l’application

May 2021 - June 2022. I had a new HVAC system installed in May 2021 by HVAC STAR PLUS. Since June 2022, when Honeywell changed the App on my 2 home Honeywell WiFi thermostats, I have had nothing but trouble. The thermostat in the main part of my home changes the set temperature from 72 degrees to 68 degrees various times during the day. If I’m home I have to shut off the thermostat so we don’t freeze. My electric bills have doubled during this period. First I contacted Resideo who said the APP WAS not causing this problem. When I contacted my installer, HVAC STAR PLUS, who is charging me an exorbitant amount for labor, who only had me disconnect the WiFi from the app. I am still having the same problems daily. Now I have to pay a bill of $250 so HVAC STAR PLUS can change out my 2 warranted thermostats in the hopes that will correct the problem. So for 3 months I have had to pay high electric bills over $250, pay HVAC STAR PLUS $250 for switching out two thermostats and I still have to wait to see if this solves the problem or not. Obviously I do not recommend these thermostats or this NEW APP! Will this A/C nightmare ever end??

Runtime data. There doesn’t seem to be a way to download the runtime data. My heating usage is directly related to the weather, and although the app doesn’t have degree day data to accurately compare usage trends, it doesn’t seem like I can download the runtime information to tie weather to it on my own. Please consider allowing runtime information to be downloaded for a future upgrade. Also, I have two thermostats but runtime usage on my downstairs thermostat refreshes a day sooner than my main living area thermostat. I haven’t been able to figure out why there would be a lag on one, but not the other. Other than these small issues, as a newbie to smart thermostats, I love being able to control the temperature from my phone, home or away, and do believe it’s helping decrease my heating bills. The charts are nice, but again, I’d like to be able to analyze it more closely without manually going through daily usage.

Poor connectivity, log in and geofencing issues. This app has added a few nice features thru the 5 years I have owned the Lyric thermostats. However the actual functionality of it has been severely hindered by the intermittent and unstable operation of the app. The geofencing will only work if I leave the app open in the background (even when allowing it to have constant acces to my location), so if the app is closed, the AC will never turn off/on. Even then if I leave it open in the background, sometimes it will allow access through finger print, other times it will ask for a password, and other times will simplify just log out by itself ( and if it logs oit, geofencing will not work either) I am very disappointed on the regresion of the app, the old Lyric app, while more basic and limited in functions, was more stable. I hope the fix these issues.

Do Not Update Software - Update will not down load to iPad. ******** Still not fixed and Honeywell uses year old Develpoer Responses asking you to call so they can help. They are clearly not listening to anybody. All they need to do is grab an iPad and try to install the 4.11 update on it. Either they are not listening or don’t believe 40 or 50 users or this is the software bug of all bugs and they can’t fix it. But the least they could do is acknowledge there is a problem. !!!!!! *******. ZERO STARS ****** New software update will not down load to iPads - either old or new version. Honeywell keeps denying there is a problem or Rep says you are the first one to call. There are now twenty four reviews here alone that says you can not update the software. Honeywell even tried to blame the problem on Apple. I called Apple and explained the problem and worked with a third level technician to know avail. I even got him to try and download app to his iPad. Not happening, failed to load. Honeywell is stonewalling or incompetent. This should have been fixed in one day. Thanks.

Missing one big feature. And bugs. Using the app to change the temperature is actually great. However in my project I'm installing over 30 of these on a campus. Setup is where i have the most bugs as it always seems to have trouble registering the device or setting up home kit. Then i have to constantly try the setup again until it works. Once its programmed though, it works flawlessly except for one missing feature. I cant schedule the thermostat to cut off. I can set my high point and my low point but i cant tell it to switch to off and auto at a certain time. And then the next day to switch to on cool and on. The thermostat must always be always on . I get around this by using the home-kit but i think its still has a few bugs becuase it will tell me that the devices are not responding on my Home app, even when they are working in my lyric app.

Thermostat use. Use for controlling my thermostat and single remote sensor. App works great for the most part, but one issue I have with it makes it almost a borderline 3 stars in what I think could be a 5. Used it for setting sensor priority, scheduling etc which are all very good I think - but every time I open the app it takes quite a while to refresh the current thermostat setting. This is most apparent when I changed the temp set point from the main thermostat device directly and then opened app, or if I make a change on one device like iPad but later look from iPhone when going to bed. Fastest way to refresh in these instances is to close and reopen app which is annoying when I just want to make a quick change and the setting is old/inaccurate for what it’s actually set at currently.

Still Poor, Will NOT Pair T6 on iOS. I’ve literally tried everything multiple times, the app just goes in a loop, and the thermostat itself will connect to the network in multiple ways, it just absolutely will not register it to the app. I can use it with Apple home after connecting to WiFi, but there’s literally zero ways to pair it to the app if it’s already connected to the internet. I’ve tried with both WAC enabled and disabled. With WAC enabled the WiFi is no longer broadcast from the device once you let Apple connect to it, and it works everywhere BUT this honeywell app. With WAC disabled, the thermostat gets stuck on “Connecting” after sending it the WiFi SSID and Password, the lyric network will not allow you to connect back to the thermostat in this state, and the app will not proceed further. Yet if you hit cancel (or let it time out, which takes a long time), the thermostat is connected to the network properly, can again be controlled with Apple HomeKit, but it will NOT register in the device and starts all the way from the beginning. There’s literally no way to connect the app to the thermostat if you have a newer device (have tried iPhone 11 and iPad Pros, all up to date). Add a way to register the device to the app if connected to WiFi, it’s literally a process every single other device can do, Nest does this and is a million times easier to deal with, there’s literally no reason for it to be programmed this way.

Worst Glitchy App Ever!. I just don’t understand how this app has such high stars! This app glitches like literally every single day. Often times you can randomly go to it and it shows all of the thermostats that you’ve programmed as “Offline” which makes it impossible to to turn on or off or even see the temperature in the house. Other times I’ve tried to turn the thermostats on or off..and the app makes it seem like it’s done the job but then the thermostat never comes on or off like I’ve chosen. The last thing I notice is that sometimes I’ll come to the app and one or more thermostats are simply MISSING like I never programmed it in the first place, but then a few hours later the thermostat pops back up like nothing ever happened. After trial and error and reprogramming my thermostats to the app so many times, I finally learned that you just have to wait however long until the dumb app decides to put the thermostat back under the list. Don’t even get me started on the NON WORKING geofence feature. What a JOKE! Why so many glitches?!!

Software stinks!. I have a Lyric T5 thermostat and have had it for over 6 months and the wall hardware looks great and works well however the phone app is a disaster. The latest version lost all information about my thermostat and despite trying to set it up multiple times, every attempt ends with “Registration Error” “Unknown Error Occurred” and then it goes all the way back to the beginning of setup again. The device on the wall is actually working correctly and is on the network as the app on my wife’s phone can still connect to and control it but the app on my phone consistently fails. I deleted and reinstalled the app - no change in behavior. The app talks to and obtains information from the wall unit but always fails with the registration error. Each iteration of the software also seems to be more buggy and with less functionality than previous but with other devices added. I got this thermostat for the geofencing capability but given the awfulness of the software I can’t recommend it. I’ll probably be replacing it with a non-Honeywell thermostat if things don’t get better soon.

Annoying 24hr time set requirement. We just had this system installed yesterday and kept getting a Critical Alert message telling me my phone’s time and date weren’t synced with the app. Absolutely no explanation what that meant. After much searching and time wasting, I was able to find out a solution to the problem. Apparently on devices operating on IOS17 you have to switch your clock to 24hour “military time”, instead of a 12 hour time setting, which is the norm in the United States. It’s really annoying that this app gets to dictate how I set my phone. And if I don’t comply, the whole point of paying for wireless sensors for other areas in my house is a waste. The system was not cheap to purchase and have installed. What happens when I need to use an app that requires me to keep my phone set to a 12hr time format? I hope you are going to remedy this glitch, or at least make homeowners aware upfront. Ready to have it pulled out and replaced with something else.

Unbelievably frustrating. I’ve been discussing with my rep for 8 years now and they keep saying it is going to get better. They’ve hired the right people and it doesn’t. I’ve called consumer tech services a number of times now with no resolve. Where do I begin? I’ve had both a current I phone and a current Galaxy over this time and neither has mattered. Geofencing doesn’t stay connected without logging in every other day. Obnoxious when you are dealing with two adults to consider. I’ve been through 8 original leak freeze detectors. They are impossible to connect the first time let alone if you change your WiFi. Even better, there is no way for you to personally delete a device that is no longer there. I have 4 new leak detectors on my kitchen table that won’t connect and 3 I can’t delete from the device. Seriously considering switching to another brand they’d hate to hear. Please listen this time. I’m seriously done being on the phone with tech support for hours at a time over multiple days for this each time.

App needs a lot of work. The app works when it wants to. Some times my thermostat shows up on the app, and most of the time it’s not there. Also on occasion, the thermostat is there but the app says it’s offline. I checked the thermostat on the wall and the WiFi signal is there and there is no issue with the internet at our house. Also, the thermostat doesn’t seem to tell the air conditioning unit that it needs to come on in order to cool the house until approximately an hour after the house has become two to three degrees warmer. I don’t know if this is some attempt to conserve energy, but when the AC has to run an extra two hours in order to get to the desired temperature, it seems a bit counter productive. Instead of worrying about updating security measures constantly, let’s maybe focus on the actual purpose of the device. When I turn the temperature down or up I’d like it to come on and start working.

App decided to quit working.. App Store indicated the app needed to be updated but the app will not update, instead the app freezes up in the App Store. Tried deleting the app and restarting the iPad to the same end. Deleted the app to re-download and still won’t download. An app that performs like this is complete garbage as is the company that allows it. Tech support was not worth contacting. The first two people I communicated with both told me the problem was my iPad and they both made the expert analysis without the pesky thing called troubleshooting. One of them made that decision after she told me to try calling the next day. They also refused to even consider the apple tech support case number I gave them. I was told I would get a phone call when the app gets updated. Tomorrow will be an entire week since the app decided to quit working on the iPad. This company is making it more and more obvious that they do not care in any way about the garbage products they sell to the customer. Garbage product from garbage leadership!

App won’t work with company’s own product!. I just got a new AC system installed. Everything was a wonderful experience until it came to setting up the thermostat. The app won’t connect to my T6 Pro. I get to the screen where you select the thermostat’s WiFi name, and it won’t select. The correct name appears, but when I tap on it, the button just goes gray like I’m selecting it and does nothing. The thermostat is fine. It actually connected through Apple Home, but I don’t have a hub and need the Honeywell app to control the thermostat when I’m away from home. Please fix this app! UPDATE: I’m returning a couple of stars. After a difficult time contacting Honeywell support, I was connected with a chat agent who told me to disable the WAC setting on the thermostat and go back through the setup process on the app. This time when I got to the page where I had been getting stuck, I was given an option to move on. The app is now set up and working well with my thermostat. It works, but what a difficult process!

Great Thermostat, god awful app. The thermostat itself is great. Does what it is supposed to do, when it’s set to do so. The app on the other hand is 100% trash. The app crashes every time it is opened, often saying that there have been too many log in attempts…after only the first attempt. Secondly, it logs users out all of the time and doing so randomly. It is killing my electric bill by not using the home/away settings properly because it does not know when no one is home half of the time. By doing so, the thermostat is running the home settings and keeping the house significantly warmer or colder than I want it to when the house is unoccupied. Over the past 3 months, my electric bill has been over $75 more than normal each month (even accounting for price increases from the power company) because the app fails to properly work and communicate with the device. App developers, fix the crashes and crummy quality before releasing a new update

A downgrade from Lyric App - Boooo. I was disappointed to see that the advertised “upgrade” from the Lyric App to the Honeywell version was actually a downgrade. The old Lyric App I use to remotely control my thermostat at a rental property provided me the outside temperature in the city where the property at issue is located. That was important because I used that information in determining when I might need to turn the heat up to keep pipes from freezing or when I might need to start a cooling cycle early because it’s really hot outside. But, that helpful outside temp info is now gone or hidden in this upgrade. The new version also requires more clicks before I can get to the thermostat info. I realize the platform is now designed for remote access of more devices, but there should at least be a shortcut to the favorite or most used devices. UGH.

Frustrating App. Installed app to control T6 remotely by a handicapped person. Two months after install app lost WiFi connection at 2:30 AM. Text messaged tech support who had no solution except to recommend contacting an “engineer” but it would cost $5. Entered my credit card info and phone number which caused the site to go into an endless loop. Called help phone # to hear a recorded message to call during normal business hours. Resorted to Google “Honeywell thermostat” with several links appearing with one with a video demoing solution for T6 lost WiFi connection - pull thermostat off wall and reinsert. Problem solved, but why were those instructions not in the app and why not supplied by tech support? Two weeks later a new problem developed in that the app display did not match the thermostat display of actual temperature. When the temp setting in the app (on an iPad) was changed, it was not received by the thermostat even though WiFi connected. In a few seconds the app’s setting would revert to the previous setting. A handicapped person has enough frustrations to deal with, the Honeywell Home app adds to the misery.

Used to love. I enjoyed the geocaching esp when passing the fence - it used to chime every time - now I don’t hear it, the app can’t tell when I’m away or not even as I have it set to nag me. Worst part is having to physically type in to access when my fingerprint should suffice. It’s making me want to just delete the darn thing we use our phones with fingerprint yet EACH time I must sign in??? My work app might force signin but they at least let me simplify with fingerprint. Your enhances are too restrictive. Let the thing chime. Give us the option of a chime (and maybe even setting our own unique sound when passing the fence). Something you’ve done with enhancements kinda screwed the pooch and it’s rubbing me the wrong way, making me know that you’re willing to nag me instead of letting me live in peace (and letting me smile with a chime). It’s as if I must have Waze on to get a notice that I’ve crossed. If I don’t, your apps says I have to adjust something. Are you trying to make us ask your app to track to outside sources? STOP IT.

Latest Update won’t download to iPad. I have to give it 2 stars because I can’t get the update to download and update on my iPad Pro. It works on my iPhone. I’ve deleted the app and attempted to download it again, restarted my iPad Pro and still it fails to download even as a fresh download and not as an update - it starts and then quickly quits. Not having this issue with other apps and not having this issue with this app on my iPhone, just on iPad Pro. The app itself, when it works is fine, a little clunky, but good enough for how I use it - I only have the humidity, water leak and temp sensors setup and from what I can tell they work fine, but seeing them on the app is the clunky part - you can’t see them all at once, you have to see them by area they are located, click that location to see the sensors there which is fine, but not efficient for my setup. Also, setting up the sensors was hit or miss and assigning the sensors names and locations was not intuitive and had to do over several times - all a bit clunky compared to using Apple products...

Slow and Frustrating. App is very slow to open and sometimes doesn’t open at all. I close it and start over. But the real problem is the geofencing. I’ve been about 550 miles away from home for the last 4 days and I get 3 or 4 notifications a day saying ‘it’s noticed I crossed my geofence boundary but that it can’t communicate with the thermostat’ I called as requested, that was no help. Her fix for random and senseless notifications was to turn off notifications. I wouldn’t get alerted on the occasions it was supposed to work but I figured I’d have to live with that. I turned them off and verified it went ‘off’ on the iPad also. So this morning, having never left the house, I get another notification, “We noticed you crossed your geofence, but we couldn’t change your settings. Please open Honeywell Home app to try again”. The app is junk and the support you get is just more junk. No way this app can get a 4.5 rating, they’re gaming the system somehow. Most dysfunctional app I’ve ever used. Never buying a Honeywell thermostat again

Crash prone. Frequently logs you out, with a message “too many attempts”. Slow to log out. Does not automatically store login information. Logging back in is slow and cumbersome. I received a reply to this review suggesting I contact their tech-support. I did. After spending a long time chatting with their tech-support I was informed this is a known issue. It will eventually be fixed. But there is no forecast for the coming of this blessed event. The worst part is that after getting a negative review they inform you that they have further instructions. But you must log in again to access them. When you login again all they do is ask you to update the review. Crashing events are happening with increasing frequency. I wish I could replace this thermostat with another brand.

4 Stars. The reason I did not give 5 Stars is for 2 reasons. 1st, our furnace quit(this thermostat is at our second home)just in the last week & that caused the thermostat to stop communicating remotely. Honeywell should be able to detect that there was a problem like I described & sent out a message automatically, indicating that due to a problem with the furnace, the smart thermostat does not work. The second reason for the 4 Star rating is because of a glitch between Apple & Honeywell @ the time I installed the thermostat, no matter what my HVAC man did, we could not get the thermostat to sync with my iPhone 10. The tech with Honeywell should have known about the technical problem. I ended up with a bill from my HVAC repairman that was several $100 dollars. If he had been told that there was a technical issue, that would have saved u r tech & me several hours.

App has a lot of bugs and other. App or unit has too many issues. I just bought the Lyric T6, what I've noticed the temperature is not calibrated correctly (no option to change) I have a thermometer next to thermostat and its off by 1 degree. Also, I notice the temperature just up or down within seconds, when its not possible. Also, the outside temp doesn't not refresh in a timely matter, unless you click on it. Set up was done without app originally however those settings are not available through app. ie: Option to change how many times boiler turns on, default was 3 but now I can't find how to adjust. Also, its really a travesty there is no motion sensor built into unit. No option to turn off the LED display, stays on all the time. Other than these issues everything else is amazing and I will change to 5 stars if update is made soon.

Not also accurate. I have had the Lyrica thermostat and honeywell home app for over 6 months. Wanted to wait a while before review. Issues are with the app. First off it’s is simple and easy to use which is nice but lacks features that would be very helpful. You cannot change schedule from the app. If you are out of town on a changing schedule you can only change from the thermostat. Geofencing is spotty at best. I can be sitting in my living room and get either app can not locate you or that I have left home. Which sets thermostat to away mode. Lots is times the only way to get it to home setting is turning off geofence on iPhone and turn back on a magically it works. I know it’s not the internet connection or phone because all other geofence services with other programs works just fine. When I upgraded phone to IOS 13 had to deleted and reinstall to get it to work. Please more updates to app more frequently.

Good but could be Great!. Overall the thermostat an app work pretty well together. The biggest issues I have is with the geofencing. This needs to be based on the lat/lon of the cell phone, not the lat long of the cell tower the phone is hitting. I live in an area where the phones bounce between two towers. I have a 5 mile radius setup for geofencing. I can be setting in my living room an get notification that nobody is home. This is because my cell phone is suddenly hitting the tower that’s way outside my 5 mile geofence vs. the one that inside. I know this because one tower is in Central Time and the other is on Mountain time, so when my clock changes I know what tower the phone is hitting. The other issue is connection two phones to the account. Many times if one phone leaves the area, it thinks everybody is gone even if the other phone is still at the house. The geofencing issue continues to be a pain. Still get random notifications about being outside my geofence area when sitting in my living room.

Simply Horrible. Honeywell’s Thermostat, App and Online support are just horrible. The App tells me I’m away when I’m standing in front of the Thermostat. It doesn’t know if it wants to track my phone or my wife’s. I attempted to do a complete reset but continued to receive a message that my thermostat was still registered. I called the help desk and was told when I deleted my account it rolled to my wife’s. I was the primary account owner. Why would it defer to another user after I deleted it? I once again contacted the help desk and finally they were able to do a complete reset as if new out of the box. Getting the rep to understand what I wanted wasn’t easy. After they completely deleted my info from their system I was able to do a setup. I went through the process and thought all was well until once again the thermostat told me I was outside the Geofence area even though I was standing in front of it. The app is not that complicated. The issues are a puzzle. This product is a complete joke. Run don’t walk to the Nest site and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Can’t login to App. Honeywell just took over the top spot of worst customer service in the world. We we able to set up RedLink with our thermostat very easily. We also set up a Honeywell Home account using a web browser on a desktop computer and can control our thermostat. But that’s it! We downloaded both the Honeywell Home and TCC 72 apps for iPhone and couldn’t login. The product instructions just say “App” so we had to guess at which app to use. Changed our password 3 times, double checked credentials, and still couldn’t log in. Tried to get Honeywell service via chat online, waited an hour and then the chat window said “no agents available”. Called the RedLink service line, was on hold for 2 hours plus before we gave up. No email address anywhere online to contact. Just an awful experience trying to control our thermostat from our phone. Update: after filling out this negative review, two days later we received an email that the right app is TCC-72. Reset password one last time and finally connected. This was still an awful customer support experience so we are leaving the review at 1-star.

Failure by Honeywell: Customer Support Below ZERO. I have had 2 T6 units professionally installed in mid November and they still do not connect to the internet. I spent 3 hours on the phone with a live tech person who was very good but could not connect. I even videoed the process so the engineers could review. My issue was elevated to “engineering” with a case # but they have not contacted me even when I responded to the email that I sent the video to review. I was on hold for 1 1/2 hrs today hoping to get an update on my case but could not hold any longer so I select #2 “to hold my position for a call back”. When I pressed #2 it did not send me to a call back menu simply kept playing dentist music AND the boring auto attendant asked me again if I would prefer to “press 2” to for a call back. Never happened so I wasted my time today. I even responded to the original email that I attached the video to to see if I could get that competent tech support person back for a conversation and it bounced as the Mailbox was full. Very disappointed and it appears I just wasted $550 on the two T6 units. I am stunned that Honeywell would let this happen. Clearly their brand has been damaged in my mind. FYI I am Using Comcast Xfinity with “auto band” (5.0 or 2.4) turned off and established a separate 2.4 band connection.

Poorly Designed - Constant Freezing/Offline etc. I have a T6 and all I can say is I’m getting close to just replacing it simply due to how poorly this app performs. The refresh/integration is just awful. Half the time I need to get up and physically look at my thermostat to confirm if it’s either connected to WiFi because the app says it’s “offline” when it truly isn’t, has the WiFi indicator and shows connected to my router interface. Then times where I’m constantly closing and reopening the app because it hasn’t refreshed. Or I select follow schedule and it continues to show a temp that is absolutely not my schedule, I will get up to physically look at my thermostat and it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to be doing but the app simply isn’t refreshing properly. I’ve just never been happy with this app, seems to perform VERY POORLY AND SLOWLY. The original Total Connect Honeywell app I had on our last houses unit seemed to work so much better. Not a fan of this Honeywell Home app. Will likely be trashing this thermostat and avoiding Honeywell all together going forward.

Thermostat issues. I had a new heating and air system installed last November and as of this November I’ve had no issues. However a week ago I noticed my app which I rely on very heavily was not corresponding with what was actually happening in the house. For example it said that it was heating constantly when in fact the setting was well below what the temp said that it was heating at. I was directed to call Honeywell so I did 9 days ago, waited on hold for almost an hour. During that time frame I called back twice and both times waited over an hour almost an hour and a half to talk with someone. Today I was told that a new version was going to be released and that I should watch for it during the day so that I can update. Had I not called I doubt there would have been any resolution. While I’m hopeful there will be because I don’t have the patience to have to call back. The customer service I’ve experienced is less than expected after installing brand new equipment only 12 months ago. Needless to say I’m not thrilled with Honeywell.

Disappointingly Slow !. Not sure why but the app usually takes a good 5 to 10 seconds to update when you open it. Select a zone and make a change then go back to the Home Screen of the app and the temp is reverted back as if no change was done. You have to count to 5 before switching each time. It takes just as long to update to the current temp in the home. It’s like it makes a call every so often and give you the info from that last call because it takes so long to get the current live data. I’ve done everything on my end to speed up the thermostat including putting it in the DMZ… something I’m not a fan of, and it did nothing. (Obviously I put it back after it didn’t work) it has to be something on their end. In before Developers standard response: Using a Honeywell T6 Pro WiFi thermostat. Yes it has great signal strength and latency is low. Yes it’s updated, and yes my app is updated. I’m on a 1gigabit up/down fiber connection running UniFi-Os on a dream machine pro. For some reason the app communicating with the device is just stupid slow.

Generally happy but could do with som improvements. Need to have more flexibility/coordination in scheduling and geofencing. A) For example, geo is nice during the week coming and going but if you work close and do local running around, it’s hard to get an ideal perimeter to stop it bouncing in and out of home and away mode. Needs to have a deadband or delay - need to be transition either way and be there for x (configurable minutes) before switching B) An option to defer the changeover when you cross the zone - like a snooze for x minutes. Don’t snooze - do as expected. Why - I leave work, go home to change for gym and back out again. Don’t need the heat or cool changing modes 0 minutes each side of being there for a 5 minutes stay at home C) Sleep time during the week is different to weekends - I need sleep to end at 06:00 during the week. But weekends I’d like a different time - Say 08:00 Saturday, 09:00 Sunday. Or an exception - ie I am up at 5:00 some Sundays to go skiing. Same for going to sleep.

Poor Setup experience (setup account first). Tried setting up through the app and it took at least 10 tries to get it to actually work. It took a few attempts trying to connect the device with the network and once you get past that there are questions it asks about your furnace during which the screen froze after answering the first question causing me to start over. I have the new iPhone 8 so it’s not due to an old or outdated phone. Once I finally got through the setup it has you create an account and after that it doesn’t ever finish the setup process on the t5 thermostat side so it continues to wait for the app to complete setup. From there the only thing I saw to do is add the device through my account in which I had to restart the entire setup process because the device previously didn’t complete its setup. It was so the same setup process that was so painful the first time. Once configured, everything seems to be working smoothly. It doesn’t seem like you can even set the thermostat without an account anyway so idk why they even have the option to set it up without.

App Does Not Allow Temperature Adjustments. I have these thermostats in 2 homes. One set of thermostats works with the app, while the other set will not respond to changes made on the app, only manual adjustments. This has been occurring for almost two months. I have repeatedly called Resideo. They say it’s server issues. Occasionally after a call to report the problem, the app will allow me to adjust the thermostats for a few hours. Then it stops working again. Extremely frustrating given the limited adjustments you can do manually on the actual thermostat. For nearly a month my thermostat was running a program I did not want, but could not change because it could only be programmed from the app. I regretfully have 4 Lyric thermostats and a leak detector which I purchased with the primary intent to monitor and adjust the temperature in my homes remotely. Since the update to the app from the original Lyric app, I have had constant frustration and am unable to use the thermostats/app as intended.

This app and thermostats is a joke! Doesn’t event functions well with great HVAC Lenox pump. I just closed my new construction home last week and they installed 6pro thermostat and big sign saying “WI-FI “ enabled works from anywhere, so ok I downloaded recommended app, after I installed the app first of all the app doesn’t even worked , than I download led latest update on my Apple device, app let me selected those thermostat, then guess what, the app doesn’t even shows those thermostat, I hire spectrum technician and have them configuration Wi-Fi and modern and they tried , they said Mr. patel your connection and other devices works fine including thermostats, only thing not working is your Honeywell home app and please contact them, so I wrote review last week about this app and the representative telling me to connect this number for further troubleshoot, they have my registration information they should contact me not me I will throw these thermostat and have install other brands. Simply garbage. I told my builder please don’t throw these kind of thermostat on me, get something different for other homes.

Annoying Login. The app seems to work when you are logged in but the app always seems to drop login connections. User has to frequently enter email and password because the app seems to lose credentials. With locations on 100% of time, notifications on allow all, all app security suggestions turned on, allowing facial recognition set to on, it still will stop functioning as planned and require a manual entry of email and password because it has forgotten it again. Very annoying. After multiple updates and months of operation, I would have hoped they would have resolved the issues by now. Black screens, non-functioning geo fence, the app is near useless. It promises a lot but just falls way short of delivering. At least the wall thermostat will control temperature and function properly. Maybe an app is just outside of the company’s forte and they need to stay with a more mechanical control. I’ll just look elsewhere when I feel motivated enough to replace.

UPDATED. So Honeywell responded to my original review. Let me reiterate this again. Yes the app lets u log in with your fingerprint or facial. But it doesn’t matter because the app signs you out 3-4 times a week. Then it will not let u sign in using your biometrics. It ALWAYS makes u use your user name and password and the app doesn’t let you save your user name and password using biometrics. I try to add it using my iPhone settings and there’s no option to use it. So essentially the biometrics only work when u are logged in anyways. Then when it decides to log u off because they just want to make sure that it’s really u using your thermostat u can only type in your user name and password. Pretty darn frustrating. The app actually works like it is intended and the mechanics are great and user friendly! The only downside is it logs u off constantly and you have to retype everything. That’s the frustrating part. Your turn Honeywell…

Way more buggy then TCC app. I bought the t9 thermostat thinking that I was upgrading to the latest version of a thermostat that has been out for a while. Skipping over all the initial bugs in the app and hardware. Hardware seems solid so far and remote thermostat that talk back to the main are close in temperature for accuracy. My real gripe is with the app moving from tcc to Honeywell home. The app doesn't show if the system is running, strike one. I go in to check the schedule temperature and it's the incorrect number displaying currently and if I click around in the app it finally updates. Not sure if it's just a display issue or not because I can't tell if the system is running unless I'm actually there, strike two. Finally there are days that I think it totally ignores the schedule and set Temps as it will be set for 73 and the inside Temps will be 68-69. I checked my other remote thermometer and it really is 68-69. If you want to waste energy, not follow a temperature schedule, not know if your system is even running from the app, waste $150 on the t9 today!

Not up to expectations from Honeywell. Installation of thermostat was fairly simple. Old app was more informative, the new app leaves a lot to be desired. Apple Watch app worked with the old app, but constantly says offline after the update. Emailed support, but have not received a reply. I installed this thermostat to lower my electric bill. I have the thermostat set at the recommended settings for efficiency, but since installing my electric bill has increased. Expected a much more reliable product from Honeywell. Called as requested. Customer service was friendly. Stated they would escalate problem for solution. And that I would be notified by email with a solution and correction to the problem. No solution or correction, problem still persists. Did receive email the following day to rate customer service and resolution to problem. How do rate something that has not been resolved? Rating: Customer Service - Friendly, Solution - None! Still waiting for that email. Still cannot get the app to work with Apple Watch!!! Still waiting for solution from Honeywell!!!

Terrible, horrible, no good very bad app.. Would you like an app to pretend to control your thermostat but actually do nothing at all? Perfect! This is the app for you. Say it’s 72 inside and that’s a bit chilly at night - you’re in bed and want the temperature inside to be 75. So you open the app and increase the “heat to” temperature to 75. Wait 20-30 seconds and watch the “heat to” temperature magically reset back down to 72! I guess the thermostat knows what temperature I want better than I do. What a joke of an app. Buy another thermostat. ANY other thermostat would work better than this one. It bears repeating just in case you’re still thinking “well, maybe this individual just got a lemon and my experience will be better!” - DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. THERMOSTAT. Customer service is nice, but I’ve had issues with this thermostat & app for 2 years running and no one has been able to fix it. Third time’s a charm just in case you made it this far and were still thinking this is the thermostat and app for you; don’t buy this thermostat unless you really really enjoy disappointment and frustration.

Need for integration and improvement amongst apps. With Honeywell’s spin-off of the Homes and Building Technology product portfolio, the newly formed company has been slow to develop software and integrate onto one platform. They have multiple apps for thermostats and I have a home with 5 different thermostats, and it is annoying to have to go into multiple apps to control the temp, humidity, etc. The current technology is lazy and you have to bumble through to get things working. The apps are full of glitches and sometimes the hardware looses connection to WiFi -I have an enterprise-grade wifi setup and there are no places in the home without full bars. I have had these for a year and wish desperately that the newly formed company would gain a customer and product focus. Nest has now integrated with multi-zone controllers, so that may be my next option.

App problems. The idea, and features are excellent. Exactly what I need. Unfortunately important features do not work properly. I have had Honeywell thermostat and this app for probably close to a year now and it hardly ever works properly. When I cross into my geofencing I get a notification saying so, but get home to it not recognizing that I’m within the geofence. The A/C will be set to my away settings while I’m home. I end up having to manually adjust my air temperature, which brings me to my next problem. I can adjust the temperature, save the settings, 5 seconds later it resets to the previous setting. After multiple attempts, it will finally hold the setting I pick. If I try to manually switch the sensor it uses, it won’t switch saying I can’t switch sensors when away from home because of away settings. This is while I’m at home and it’s not recognizing that I am. This product would be great if it did what it’s supposed to do, but it is terrible software I guess and makes me not want to ever buy another Honeywell product.

Updated review, refreshed wifi setting and it works. After rechecking the wifi setting on the thermostat, the app is working again. I didn’t change any settings. Perhaps the connection needed to authenticate occasionally, as with anything connected to wifi. Works fine now. Old review: The app keeps going back to the previous setting if you try to change the temperature. The problem began happening during the past day or so. The app connects to the thermostat but it doesn’t allow you to change the setting. If you enter the desired setting on the app, it would show on the thermostat for a few seconds and then revert back to the previous setting. I do have settings on schedule but I have always been able to change the temperature, say to go up a degree or two. But it always reverts back to the previous setting of whatever it is on the schedule.

Tons of glitches. I’ve used this app for 3 years now. The last few months have been the worst. While it’s never been perfect the glitches were few and far in between. Lately I have to force close the app to get the correct current temp to show. I go to change it to heat for example and it shows it updated but then when no heat comes on j go back to the app and it’s showing the old setting from before I change it. Normally I can navigate further into the app like clicking mode etc to force it to communicate to the thermostat but today I’ve changed it from ac to ac if it gets above 69 or heat if it gets below 67 (hello crazy Texas weather) no less than 20 times over two hours and it will not stick. I cannot set this function from the thermostat only the app. I have a newborn now and I cannot have the temperature go above or below these in my home. This is insanity.

If this is a Nest competitor it’s a joke. When we bought a new house 2 years ago we bought a Honeywell instead of another Nest like our previous house had. This decision was mostly based on the HomeKit integration but also due to our utility company offering a rebate. I couldn’t regret the purchase more. Within the first couple months it was obvious the HomeKit features were useless. The thermostat is “offline” more than it is online. Once we gave up on using the home app for “smart” features we fell back on Honeywell’s app. Not much better. While the geofencing does seem to work, almost every time I update the app it logs me out. This kills the geofencing, and in turn the scheduling that comes with it. I guess I’ll get a Nest again. UPDATE: In response to the developers response, I should state: the thermostat is probably online with Honeywell’s servers 99% off the time. However, HomeKit constantly seems to be unable to communicate with it. I have about a half dozen other HomeKit devices that are always “online”

App won’t connect to wifi.. I’ve never had this issue with the app. One day it lost connection when I wasn’t home so I when I got home I tried connecting the thermostat back to the app on my phone. When the name of the wifi connect would pop up on the app I would press with no response. I’ve tried everything from turning off my wifi, taking the thermostat off the wall, resetting the thermostat, erasing my phone (that was the biggest hassle) to deleting the app and reinstalling. I even downloaded the app to my iPad and it worked fine with no issue but I need to control it from my phone. I have an iPhone XR that was recently updated to the latest update, so I’m not sure if this could be the reason why my thermostat won’t connect to the Honeywell app. I checked online for resources with no success.

Honeywell Home App Disfunction. Installed the TSTAT-TH6320W three years ago and had no issues whatsoever. I don’t know what update/change occurred last night (Jun. 9, 2021), but I am unable to use the app from my iPad and my iPhone! The continues to say “OFFLINE”. I have tried logging out and logging back in to no avail. I have tried re-installing the thermostat except when I press and hold for “TSTAT” to appear nothing happens,..EVER! I have deleted the account and re-created, again to no avail. The thermostat is working fine without the WiFi, but when your used to controlling via WiFi, this is a problem. My WiFi settings on the iPad does not recognize the TSTAT, so again, to no avail. ALSO, WiFi icon from the thermostat display shows the small x below it. I did go to PRIVACY, LOCAL NETWORK, and allowed access. I’m out of troubleshooting options. Is there possibly a bug fix for this? IPadOS 14.6

Stopped working for T10. The app used to work when it had Honeywell branding. But now it says my T10 is offline even though the thermostat itself says it’s online, connected to WiFi. As someone else pointed out, there is that annoying bug where the app will state too many logins. But I’ve also found the app can be reallllly slow to update settings with the thermostat itself making the app so useless at times you have to walk up to the thermostat to make changes. I can’t recall ever having any of the above problems with Nest. Get it together guys. Seriously. I fixed this by forcing the thermostat to disconnect and reconnect to WiFi. There should be an option to select 2.4GHz over 5GHz networks. The latter is nice and stuff but has really poor reach compared to 2.4. My AP is literally in the next room and I only get two bars on the thermostat on when it selects 5GHz. That’s why just about every IoT manufacturer sticks with 2.4 in the first place. It’s not like a thermostat needs the bandwidth that 5 offers!

Good idea...horrible execution. Downloading the app was a mission. I triple-quadrupled checked I had the required “internet connection” to download it. I tried it on multiple phones we have and my iPad. Finally got it downloaded on my phone. I’ve completed the process about 8 times now, and...IT STILL DOESN'T CONNECT TO THE WIFI!!!!!!!! Honestly, everyone in my community has this issue, so as I write this, I’m starting to think the product Is not great. I will definitely be making a suggestion to our apt complex to move to nest. Had them at my last place and it was SO much easier!!!! From the moment you took it out the box, it was homeowner friendly!! Maybe look into what they are doing to better your product and solutions. I did call the support line to get the heater to start working (a whole other issue), they did something they would “normally not suggest” but did it anyway to get my apartment up from 65 degrees, but as far as the WiFi issue (that’s clearly Honeywell, not my connection) he “cant do anything about that, sorry”. Just bad, all bad.

Worst purchase I’ve ever made. The Honeywell T5 should have been exactly what I was looking for, based on all the reviews. It has crippled functionality with the Home app, making schedules and such run through this app that is so poorly done that it doesn’t even come to a Honeywell domain when the password manager tries to find the password…. Fine, they outsourced poorly. That’s forgivable. Then the app requires precise location at all times- battery drain, privacy issues. Then the connection goes…. Horribly. Had to try multiple times to get it to work. Then, one day my thermostat starts displaying this message that it needs to be registered…. I’m thinking, I know I did that. Get into the crappy app that I never actually use and it forgot me. Had to do a password reset, then had to try to go BACK THROUGH the multiple failures of connecting the app to the product. Finally…. I’m just done. Going to go back to the Google version. Such a complete disappointment from a name like Honeywell.
