Crash and burn. I would love to subscribe to this, if only I could read more than two pages without crashing. I might even be satisfied if I could consistently read one page, without crashing as soon as I attempt to flip to it via the index at the bottom of the screen.

Crashing constantly. I hope to see an update soon. The app has crashed repeatedly while I have been trying to read the issue.

Outstanding visual presentation on iPad.. Excellent content, and it looks fantastic on my iPad. I’m enjoying the back issues too for not that much cost since I got them all.

Terrible attempt at a mobile app. I've had a subscription to your printed Linux Format magazine and I've bought it off the shelf at book stores. This digital copy is far less expensive than buying it off a bookseller's shelf (usually around $15 USD) and as a print subscription ($125 USD for 13 issues), which I appreciate. However, the actual iPhone/iPad app leaves a lot to be desired. The UI is terrible. There is no integration with Safari, to easily navigate to a web link. The advertisement space is annoying in the mobile environment and takes up way too much real estate. The image resolution is questionable, at best. Finally, had I known there would not be any way to get the disks, included with the printed edition and that I would not have access to the web site, as I do with a print subscription, I never would have subscribed to it via the App Store. I can tell you this much, I will not renew, until these options are made available. Nice to see the disclaimers have now been added to the app, in the app store, but not before I had already signed up for 6 months.

Love the articles. I love the bits of humor sprinkled in the articles. I only wish I could save issues as PDF's for my personal archive. I could have access to them if I had a print version of LFX but I don't want a print version. Minus 1 star for no way to archive issues in a future proof format.

no bookmarking?. i have downloaded some of the back issues (for IPAD) as i've enjoyed reading this magazine at the store but it's too expensive to purchase in North America (at the bookstore). However, the app isn't user friendly as there is no way to bookmark or favorite an article or page on the app. Also, when you go back into the app after leaving or turning off your ipad, you open up at page one of the magazine again, so have to scroll through the magazine again to find where you've left off. This is again where the favorites/bookmarking feature would really help. Other magazines on IPAD have this feature but this one doesn't, which is surprising. It keeps an otherwise great magazine from being truly enjoyable.

Good. Great magazine

Ok but need high res pictures. I love this magazine and wanted to subscribe via my iPad. But the low resolution on screenshots is a deal breaker for me. The text and layout is great but if I zoom in to take a look at a screenshot then it is a blurry mess that is unreadable. Considering this magazine is full of screenshots of applications and terminal commands this is kind of important. If you include full resolution screenshots then you will have an instant yearly subscription purchase from me. I seriously don't mind if the files are larger size just increase the screenshot quality. pretty please with a cheery on top.

Paid no magazine. Bought thru iTunes I wasn’t getting my issues but they were taking the money from my account every month. Customer support was slim to none when asking for help with the issue. When finally getting in contact with someone through email due to no number being available I was only refunded 1 month with issues I had paid for still asking me for payment before I could download. I reached out numerous times to only be ignored. Thanks Jellisa iTunes customer support. Would not purchase anything through iTunes in the future.

Very informative. Just getting started with Linux but this mag is very helpful.

Schnazzy. I really dig this app yo.. Got all my knowledge from hither. I dig it, I dig it, I DIGGGG IT BABY.

Crashes a lot. Will change to 5 star as soon as it stops crashing.

Excellent ePub app. Linux Journal has done a fantastic job with their ePub implementation and I love and use just about all the available formats including the iOS app. It rocks on the iPad and is very convenient on the iPhone for reading anywhere I am.

Excellent magazine, app leaves a lot to be desired. This app feels more like a purpose built PDF viewer more than a "magazine app". It leaves a lot to be desired. Bookmarking would be awesome, trying to download back issues or restoring subscriptions can be painful. The content of the magazine is excellent and I love reading Linux Format. Would like a more interactive experience, maybe a font enlarging feature other than just page zooming, but I understand that may be a lot of extra work that a small magazine team wouldn't have the appropriate resources to do that. My star rating is strictly rating the app and not the magazine content. Content gets 5 stars hands down. Thank you for a great magazine

Great. I have never had the app crash. I also love the content.

Very good magazine!. The magazine is great and the app works very well!

Best Linux Magazine around!. There is no better Linux magazine on the market! Simply the best!

Its ok but.... No option to save articles to evernote. ok., i read a good article about how to solve something but now i want to save it for later use - no option .:-(

Interesting. Being a newbie I find the content interesting full information things to learn about. I have Linux Mint 19.3 on several computers and on one I have Linux 20, my only wish was a simply upgrade feature a newbie could use as Windows 10 has.

A great resource for most anything Linux!. I used to run to my local brick & mortar bookstore to get these magazines as soon as the new issue was available. Then I found this wonderful app. Now for much less I get the current issue and don't have to do anything besides open the app.

My favorite Linux magazine. This British mag is simply the best source for news, reviews, coding projects and information about all flavors of Linux!

Don't buy through apple!!!!!. This would have been a 5-star review. However: If you buy your subscription through iTunes (for full price), you can only read your issues on Apple-branded hardware. If you create an account on their website, and buy that way, you can then sign in and read on anything. Support won't even be sympathetic, let alone fix the issue. I don't think I need to point out the irony in a magazine about Linux that doesn't work on Linux. Second, despite the fact that I have an active subscription, and all of the back issues, the app keeps bombarding me with offers to buy the back issues I already own. As I mentioned, this is a 5-star app, but since neither the publisher nor Apple will fess up to how badly you're getting screwed by buying this way, I thought I'd try to save at least one other person from this debacle. tl;dr: DO NOT BUY MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS THROUGH APPLE IF YOU OWN ANY NON-APPLE DEVICES!!!!!!

Do not subscribe or buy from them. Future Plc makes terrible magazine app. It is almost impossible to get a subscription from them that will work on more than one device (iPhone and iPad). They seem to make you purchase the magazines more than once if you want to read it on your iPhone and iPad. You are better off subscribing to their pdf format...at least with that you can read on a PC and multiple devices.

Awesome, but needs something.... I am a loyal subscriber to LXF, and I have loved every issue. I use an iPad more often than I have the opportunity to carry my bookbag around, so it would be GREAT if subscribers like me had a free digital subscription. Other than that, the best mag I am subscribed to!

Cannot download content. Since January I cannot download any issues and cannot login anymore, despite having reset my password. The magazine content itself is great but the mymagazine account and their support is not satisfying. I paid for the magazine but cannot read it:-(

NOT FREE!!!!. This is NOT FREE!!!! You will get NOTHING FREE by downloading this.

Too slow by modern standards.. App works, all subscriptions are there. Only bad thing is it takes far too long to load up the library upon login.

Mr. Gaiton Rasalam.. Dear Sir/Madam, Yesterday I downloaded the app “ Ubuntu Facile” into my mobile device. The condition said one month free on trial. On checking my Master Card a/c, I am surprised to find A$ 59.99 has been tacken. Please refund the amount, as, I have already deleted the app from my iPhone. Regards, Gaiton Rasalam.

In app purchases!. In app purchases!

Don't bother. Is not free you have to pay Another mag where you have to pay the right to read their ads....

Takes your money, and your magazine too!. Be very wary of subscribing to this online. To date i have paid $15 for two issues of this magazine and still only have access to one free download issue. Expensive, frustrating and potentially useless app. Having been a long time subscriber of the hard copy version of this mag, thought an iPad version was a great idea as I could carry copies of the magazine around with me. Wrong! Having purchased one magazine, it disappeared from my library when I upgraded to IOS5. I wrote to the supplier who informed me that if I clicked BUY it would recognize that I had already purchased, but they had made the issue I had already purchased a free download for anyone, so I could get it anyway (they could at least have offered me another edition to compensate). Assuming it was just an initial glitch of the IOS5 update, I then decided to purchase another issue which worked okay and appeared in my library. However two days later with no upgrades to IOS, the paid for version once again disappeared. Clicking the BUY button invited me once again to part with my money. At the price these guys charge for each edition, seems like they have a great way of getting money from you without actually giving you anything in return! I am still waiting for the vendor to resolve this, but there response is slow to say the least.

Bait and switch. I love the paper version of Linux Format so I downloaded the free issue here to try reading it on iPhone only to discover the screenshots are fake. If you download this all you get is a bunch of links to buy issues or subscriptions. Why the bait and switch? Uninstalling

Crashing app. Nice content, but app keeps crashing repeatedly.

Linux Format and Mac Format BEST Mags!. By far, the Linux Fornat & MacFornat are the best Magazines. THE UK always does it right! Best information, very easy to read and has the latest updates and news about Linux! I am wondering if they also make a BSDFormat magazine... Very good - I wish I could Find these magazines Ara store in Canada to purchase in person. So far, Excellent information. 5/5 Stars! Keep up the excellent work.

Very disappointed.. I'm very disappointed that you have to buy a subscription.

Keeps crashing on my iPad-mini. I wish I can read my magazine but the app keeps crashing.
