Good. I haven't explored the whole app, but I think giving it fewer than five stars is like claiming there is something wrong with it, and I've yet to find anything to complain about. Good app.

Great resource!. It does take a long time to download the first time, but that's because you are downloading an entire dictionary to your iPod. After the first time, it loads very quickly! I am very impressed with this app. The different parts of speech are very clearly distinguished, and the synonyms help add understanding to the different translations of the word. I also like the fact that it will pronounce the words for you. It is nice that it's not just a translator like so many other apps that are available; it's actually a dictionary. I recommended this dictionary to my Spanish students as a resource for our class. So far, they love it!

Great addition to my library.. As an intermediate student of Spanish, I've found this resource invaluable. Not only are the word translations extensive, but also the phrase translations that are available in both Spanish and English are very useful. Well worth the $.

Me gusta. This works great! Got the free version and its had every word I've needed so far and I've needed a few advanced words. Only need to click away from one pop-up that asks if u want the full version when u open the app. Easy. Like it so much tho, i may buy the full app.

Used to be my favorite study app. But now the search function doesn't work & its slow or unresponsive. Plus there are many poor usage examples, and sometimes they're not even translated. And what happened to the back/forward arrows? Please update.

Very useful for expanding vocabulary. When I look up a word I can also see other words with similar spellings. I like to wander through Spanish words, their derivation, and their relations to other words. This is a most useful dictionary.

A very great application. This application is packed with a lot of translated words and meanings. It's a life saver especially when you don't have Internet connection. I am learning Spanish and I refuse to pay for data, unfortunately most apps only works with Internet connection. It's one of my favorite apps. The upgrades just keep getting better.

Great for on-the-go. I love this dictionary for when I'm reading and come across vocabulary I don't recognize. It's short on slang, but they also just released a new slang dictionary too! Thumbs way up.

Not as much content but try this one before paying for other versions. I got this one before the "general" version to see if I liked it and it was great - much better than the 3 or 4 other ones, including translator apps paid for, that I tried. The only problem was that I got hooked and realized that the content of the "general" app has a gazillion billion times more content.... So I switched.

Excellent. I have the free version. I am an advanced speaker and I find it excellent including the search feature which allows you to explore and expand vocabulary based on similar expressions.

Useful app. I like using Google Translate, but as I was often without Internet access I purchased this app when I was outside of a wifi zone. I like the interface. I like that you search on a word and it gives you both Spanish and English so you don't have to toggle between languages. I think this was a nice design and time saver. Google Translate still has its advantages as it can help translate sentences, but with a single word I prefer this app as it gives more alternative translations for words than does Google. Pros and Cons to each. Overall, I find this app very useful and recommend.

Excellent and thorough.. I own a lot of dictionary apps in multiple languages, and this may be the best one on my iPhone. It has a wealth of helpful detail on every word I've looked up.

Excelent dictionary. It pronounced the word both in english and spanish, gives you some synonimous, some picture, its really a complete dictionary and its freeee. cant ask for more.

LOVE IT! --Highly recommended. This is my "go to" dictionary for Spanish class. Just enter either the Spanish or English word, and up will come both the translation and some synonyms. I find it especially useful for deciding which synonym is most appropriate. I also greatly appreciate the opportunity to listen to the word.

Practical and Efficient. This Dictionary has many daily and practical uses, since you type in the word and it automatically detects if it is Spanish or English. Then it brings up the translation immediately. For a free version it is really a valuable help. However if you are looking for an exhaustive dictionary this will not cut it. (I am fluent in both languages so I just use this to either confirm or look up a new word, but not for regular use.)

Awesome. Wish I could have the full app, a bit expensive, but I'm sure it would be worth it since the free app us great. I'm very happy with it & use it for my studies. Thank you for this app!

Very useful!. Quickly finds words and offers multiple potential translations. This is the dictionary to have and works offline!

Excellent resource. It is the dictionary and app I needed for my study of Castillan in Spain. Pay attention to the description, you need in app purchases for all the goodies, but even then worth the price of a paperback verb conjugator and phrase book. Being able to choose the accents of the speaker was important for me as I am studying in Spain but will need American Spanish pronunciation. Must be connected to the Internet to hear pronunciation. The search feature is great when looking up the various phrases possible for verbs like quedar or hacer in Spanish or a polyvalent word in English like get. Contains about 99% of the words I have needed in four weeks of looking words up. Easy to use.

Very good.. This is very good dictionary, the translation is full covered, the vocabulary are plentiful for beginners. Pronunciation are accurate. I give 4star for all versions, and 5 star for latest one. Hope have verb variation functions.

Very awesome. This is a great lite version. I like that it has lots of common words and many synonyms. Nine out of ten times I find the word I was looking for, and I liked the app much I actually just bought the mid-grade version. I'm even more impressed now.

Roberto. Excellent. You can input words in either language. The app seems find it! I also find the verb conjugation useful. I think that option costs $1.

Very helpful. I use this constantly for my knowledge of Spanish words. I am teaching Spanish but have had 3 years over 60 years ago. Not being fluent this dictionary is invaluable!

The Best. Thanks. I am an intermediate student and this app make my life easier. I was using a website for translations, but meanings were getting lost. This program gives me the word and word pair translations with synonyms so I know I am getting the best translation.

Just right. This was exactly what I needed. I'm tried of having everything conjoined to the net. Response is quick and precise. I also love the favorites list.

Excellent. This app is very good for the beginner. Need to be careful on which dialect is being taught in you child's classroom. Sometimes this app results are more formal than what my son was learning. All in all since he is only in Spanish 1 I'm very pleased. We will consider the upgrade as he progresses through this year.

should and will buy upgrade. Excellent app. They deserve my money because use this app daily. Easy to use, fast. Gives noun gender for Spanish (e.g. la mano), and verb for adjectives (e.g. estar cojo, ser cojo). Only one negative so far: did not have translation for "no conviene." Google translate did: "should not."

Meets my expectations. I use a lot of apps to help my study of Spanish. I am impressed with this one since it combines audio with visual for the word translations. The words and combinations on the list seem to give me a higher level vocabulary than I have found in most other apps. I'm looking forward to using this app to expand my vocabulary. I hope they will keep adding new words and phrases.

I really like it. Have all the words I need, but I dont like the message that always show you when you open the app reminder to buy the full version, its annoying!

Update needs fixing. This was a fabulous app before the latest update. The search feature now does not work consistently, and sometimes not at all. If you enter a word in the search box, the results list shows only the first letter of the word, as if you were searching for a letter of the alphabet. It does not take you to the word itself. If you repeatedly enter the word and click on the search button it may eventually bring up the word, but this takes many tries. Please fix this!

Handy when traveling without local phone. I can use this handy Dictionary anywhere off-line without Wi-Fi or local phone. It is helpful that it references all expressions using the searched word. I use it multiple times a day when visiting my daughter in Santiago Chile and also used it studying Spanish.

Excelente Range of Vocab & Phrases. Highly recommended! Definitely a one of my top five apps. There are very, very few words that I have not found here, it is very diverse and is full of useful phrases and idioms. I've tried many others and they can't compete...bravo!!

Unfriendly UI. Difficult to understand how to get started w use. I don’t need to struggle with an app while trying to learn Spanish.

Okay. I would like this free version much better if it didn't have a pop-up asking me to compare or upgrade EVERY time I use it. If I wanted the full version I would have downloaded it. We are overseas and this pop-up is inconvenient when trying to quickly translate a word. If not for this annoying feature, I might consider buying the full version.

Word magic. Of all the numerous apps I've downloaded this is my favorite and most used. It's the easiest to find definitions for both English and Spanish. I can also hear the pronouncing of the word in both languages. I find it a very well organized and user friendly app. I love it.

I use this every day. This is a terrific and useful app. I use it every day and it has greatly expanded my Spanish vocabulary. Definitely thinking of upgrading based on how great this app is, but also wonder if I even need to, since this does pretty much everything I've needed it to do. Every once in a while it glitches on start up, but starts right up on the second try, so I'm not taking any stars away for this.

Español-inglés, English-Spanish. It wasn't so obvious in their app store write-up, but this app translates both ways; you type a word in either language and it pops right up. Where ambiguous, you can switch back and forth between languages just by touching the flag icon. Anyone who complains about the slowness is operating with low bandwidth, perhaps in more ways than one. I eagerly downloaded it by satellite in a very remote part of the Spanish speaking world and it made my day. There are words missing in this free version but, hey, get a clue: these folks deserve to get paid for their great app. I'm upgrading. Only thing I didn't find is full conjugations. Another free app Ascendo has conjugations but not nearly as robust otherwise. Perhaps the full version of this app has conjugation tables. For now I switch to the other if I want to check an obscure conjugation. I have a friend who lives in Latin America and his Spanish is lousy. He's been a big help to me so I'm thinking about buying him an iPad just for this app.

The phrases are limited. I haven't looked extensively, but I'm convinced there is a more user friendly app out there. This isn't intuitive at all if you make mistakes. Though helpful with the most basic words, it has very limited phrases which are often the most important translations for me while I'm traveling.

Don't think twice- just buy it!. This is an incredible application. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and at times am at a loss for a word. I have yet to search for an obscure word or phrase and not have a result. The top application for anyone wishing to improve their Spanish to sound more educated and cultured. ¡Cómprela!

Love this app. I am taking a Spanish class and I use this app all the time especially the add on verb conjugator. It has every verb I've needed and I love to hear the words spoken in Spanish. Best Spanish aide I've found so far.

Very thorough definitions. This is definitely one of the premier Spanish dictionaries available at any price. It gives ALL the possible translations for a given word. Also provides common phrases using the word. I especially like being able to enter a word in either language and get the translation in the other language. A simple thing, but most other dictionaries want you to tell up front what language to translate.

Favorite Spanish App. I especially like how many phrases are included, since often the meaning of each individual word in a Spanish phrase will leave you clueless as to the overall translation. I can't believe this is free, honestly!

Excellent App. I'm a high intermediate Spanish learner, who can and does read just about anything. This is a truly terrific dictionary in which you can find almost any word you want. Dreadlocks wasn't there, and a few obscure things, but I'm very pleased. It's EASILY as good as a physical book dictionary, probably a lot better since they have the space to make different usages clear. I use it a lot and will probably buy the paid version within the next month to get the remaining words and features but I appreciate that the free version is still really useful.

Spanish dictionary. This is a very handy dictionary and I love it. I use it for my Spanish class. It not only shows the words, but pronounces the word as well. It was well worth the purchase.

Very worthwhile. I am using this app in conjunction with duo lingo and it helps me a lot with translation and examples. The two together work very well. The combination pack is excellent value for money. I am a very happy customer.

Really excellent app. I'm using the Compact version and I find it really useful, especially for its translations of idiomatic phrases that you could never interpret word by word. I don't know what extras you get with the full version but I think I'm ready to plonk down some cash if there are enough extra features.

Not too shabby. It's not bad. I'm not crazy about the layout of it. I do like that it provides synonyms for words. And pictures at times. It would be good you could tap on the picture to see it bigger though. Thumbnails aren't always as clear. This app does freeze/ go blank at times though and I'm not sure why. Still a good app, I use it everyday.

I used to love this app, but.... This app used to work beautifully, seamlessly, and had dozens of options and a great help file. But now... — There is no help file (“Video Help Files” links to nothing and does nothing) — There is no way to change the voice from European Spanish to Latin American Spanish or American English to British English — There is no way to change from female to male voice. — The app also hangs up about every few words, forcing the user to close and reopen.

Decent but buggy. Good app for the most part, I like having conjugations and idiomatic phrases. However it's a pain to scroll through a list of conjugations to find what you are looking for. A table format in landscape would probably be better, if you could quickly select the tense but it does work as is. The search bar is also buggy and doesn't recognize my tap half the time, which is annoying.

Love it!. Simply put, I'm at a language school in Costa Rica, and most of the other students either ask for the name of this one, or let me look everything up because it's better than what they have. Not perfect - still the odd missing word - but pretty much perfect for my needs.

The BEST off line translator on the market. I've now used it on two separate trips to Cuba where Internet access is impossible at best and it works without fail. I've recommended to other friends as well and they love it as much as I do. Very easy to use and when switching the primary language to Spanish, my Cuban friends could type in a translation to English for me. A Must have tool in Cuba. Don't leave home without it if you don't speak Spanish! 5 stars all the way! The only translator you'll need!

Not for iPod Touch!. I downloaded this app for use on my previous generation iPod Touch running iOS 3.1.3 and it would not work at all.

Why don't you have words like "fart/pedo?. My friend has unabridged version. I wanted to express 'fart' in spanish, but you don' have it!! So I had to search the Internet. You must also have vulgar words if you say it's unabridged! I won't buy the version unless you add them.

Not a true Spanish. The sound ll is pronounce like sz not y. This is a argentinian and Uruguayan pronounciation. So what else is not right. I. Am a beginner and have never taken a class, but I have another app that has Spanish and the ll is pronounced as y.

Simple, easy to use. I like the options given on the left side, especially the longer phrases and compound forms.

Not what it was. When I first got this app, two updates ago, I could search for a word and find it. Now, it only pulls up phrases that give an alternate meaning for what I am looking for. Unless they fix it, don't waste your money.

Great app. Has almost every phrase I've tried

Stop all the ads. I just downloaded this for my son in Spanish 1. So many ads they stop what I am doing. Let me want to buy more features, don't tell me everything is .99, or get some guy asking me if I want turn by turn directions. I will delete prob if it continues.

Freezes constantly. App opens fine and loads the first word you type, but then it freezes. Even bought the in-app verb conjugator before I realized that this bug existed. Emailed developer - "We'll get back to you." I want my money back.
