The best. I have been studying and speaking Spanish for 40+ years. This is the best and most useful dictionary I have yet found. I would organize it slightly differently, but it is well worth the cost.

Best dictionary. Important study tool.. If you don't mind paying people for providing a great app, BUY THIS APP. There are lots of "free" dictionary web apps. They are good; I use a number of them. But this app is great. It downloads the dictionary to my iPad so I still can use it without an internet connection. The dictionary is large and contains many features. The app is easy to use. They are working hard to improve it; there are useful updates. It is a valuable addition to my Spanish studies. BTW, I know nothing is perfect, little issues remain (I would love more etymological information), but it has helped me tremendously in becoming an advanced Spanish student. This dictionary is one of the tools that can help a beginner through advanced student. And with features like flash cards and other didactic tools to review selected words this dictionary can help an intermediate student progress to advanced levels. Let it help you.

Excellent learning tool!. I have enjoyed using this program for years. The ability to use it offline is a great asset. Even pronunciation is available offline! The many example sentences are very useful in the learning process and the inclusion of wisdom phrases makes learning delightful. Having the function of storing word lists for flash card review has proven very useful. I believe you will find this program and dictionaries will be one of your greatest assets in learning Spanish.

Retired. A fantastic, user-friendly resource, not just for Spanish vocabulary and pronunciation (plus complete conjugations) but also for a huge number of useful every-day expressions in Spanish and English. Much more comprehensive than other Spanish-language apps I have tried. I love it!

Best Spanish Dictionary. I have tried many of the Spanish dictionaries and none of them compare to word magics. It is the best on the market. It has a great verb conjugator with all the tenses and even will pronounce all words and phrases for you. It is fantastic must-have for any person who needs a Spanish dictionary were for reference.

Best dictionary app. I have a few languages installed and this dictionary for Spanish and Pleco for Chinese are the best dictionaries I have installed for sure!

Lacks etymology. Has all the requisite features needed for quick reference, but not the one thing that connects one language to another; how the word or its stem migrated through the ages and across geography and cultures to become its modern self.

Word Magic Unabridged. I have waited for quite a while before writing a review. This is only the second review I have ever given on any App because this one deserves comment. I have waited because I have seen some good Apps abandoned by their developers after the initial launch, not the case with this one, it keeps getting better. The range of definitions is outstanding and the software very impressive, even allowing for phrasal searches such as "bite the bullet" and "a la larga." To top it off, the customer service is very responsive, customer engaging, and fast, even adding the few definitions not found in their dictionary. Buy this App, you will not be disappointed. This is the second time that I have reviewed this Word Magic dictionary, and only the third time that I have reviewed any App. The dictionary was good from the beginning, but best of all it continues to get better. We all have purchased Apps that have been abandoned by the developers, that is why the first thing I do is check to see the latest version, a sure way to see if the developers care about their product and their customers. The Word Magic people care about both. They are very responsive and continue to add definitions. Not only are the definitions complete but the software works very well. I use the dictionary daily, for both business and pleasure. Do not hesitate to purchase this, be your native language English or Spanish. Great app. I have found this app to be a lifesaver when I am traveling and working in Latin America. I love that it works with a connection and has so many idioms. So many apps don’t work when I am traveling because they require a connection. This one is one of my favorite apps!

Great help. This app lives on my MacBook Pro, my iPad and my iPhone, all of which I use to read and write in Español. I use it in class, at home...whenever I need another way to express myself, or when I find a verbal construction I have not seen before, as well as just a great bilingual dictionary.

A great app!. I use this all the time when communicating with colleagues in Latin America. I speak and write Spanish fairly fluently, but this helps me check vocabulary and colloquialisms which vary from country to country. My work is medical volunteerism, and I am pleased with the breadth of medical and technical vocabulary included. I highly recommend it; I don’t know how I would correspond without it.

Truely best app of its kind.. I am not one to upload apps just because they are free. This is one of the most versatile apps I have ever used on my iphone and ipad. You absolutely do not need to be internet connected to use it. It conjugates verbs in every single tense in a font size you can actually see at the touch of a button. The definitions are spot on, the uses in context, synonymns, and antonyms are absolutely amazing. I would recommend this app for traveling, school, reading and writing. I use it to write letters in spanish as well as my required dictionary in class. You just type in a word, select your language if it is a cognate and everything you can imagine on your word is brought to bear. An interesting suprise is it also recognizes some basic idiomatic phrases. This is a high quality app that comes through in the most demanding circumstances. I have gotten caught short on some of the internet connected dictionary apps which can be very frustrating. You will not have that problem with this app. You actually do get what you pay for. I would give it a 6 out of 5 if it were an available.

Great dictionary. This is an excellent Spanish/English dictionary. I’ve had several hard bound versions and this is much better and easier to use.

Audio does not work, troubleshooting page returns cannot be found. I just spent 25$ on this app, audio does not work. App tells me to refer to troubleshooting page which returns a cannot be found on the dev website. Terrible

Super-useful, better than Google Translate. If you’re learning Spanish as I am, the demonstration uses, quotes, antonyms, synonyms, etc. are a wonderful resource for enlarging vocabulary. I do wish there were a dark mode, though.

A good companion. This dictionary is not only powerful, but its also entertaining.

Great App. This app is unabridged and there is almost never a word that exists which is not in this dictionary. The interface, however, is very busy and sometimes I wish for something simpler.

Simple to use. A very good dictionary, very functional and easy to navigate. Lost a star only because it often gives very strange and impractical examples for the use of a word. Have been able to find 95-98% of all words sought.

Conjugation table issues. The new version seems to have a bug in the display of verb conjugations. It worked at first but now I can't get it to work at all.

Spanish dictionary. I find it confusing with so much data before definition. Also unsure of how to find conversion from english to Spanish. I do like the the completeness of dictionary and would recommend it.

Great dictionary app. Gives me exactly what I need from a dictionary app. The only thing that does bug me (and its a minor thing) is that sometimes it provides too much information. There is a customization option to control that. I am very glad that I purchased this app.

Fantastic reference. I use this app every day in my reading and Spanish studies. It should be a model for all dictionary apps. It's only drawback is its size on the device, but that is also its strength: it's really thorough.

Complete reference!. This dictionary has it all: translations, definitions, many expressions and references , verbs conjugations and audio for tons of words. The use is simple and intuitive.

Very nice. Offline and apparently rather complete, including example usages, synonyms, antonyms, verb conjugations, and computer voice pronunciation. Very happy.

Excellent. Extremely comprehensive. Finds expressions too. Runs pretty fast.. This came in really handy when traveling. Loaded it into both my iPod and iPad so I would always have it with me. Solved a lot of communication problems for me. I was hoping it would translate whole sentences (it does some but only if they are common expressions) but it was still really helpful for me as a speaker of Spanglish.

Essential aid. Really useful app for those Spanish idioms, verbs in their conjugated state and just an all around good dictionary. A must have app.

My constant companion. This dictionary continues to get better and better. I love the quotations, pronunciations, and the fact there illustrations. Most of the words in the definitions are linked to their own definitions so sometimes you end up on an hours long "word adventure". Great for learning the language. Auto insertion from the clipboard does no longer work like it did in the first version I had. Too bad.

Very useful. Now that I’m living in Mexico, I use this app every day and find it very useful. Thanks for making it easier to learn Spanish. One suggestion to make your app even better, is to add an option in the ‘verb conjugations’ to see the English equivalent. Sometimes I forget what the PRETERITE PERFECT INDICATIVE equivalent is in English.

The most complete in the App Store. If you are serious about finding both literal and nuanced definitions of nearly every Spanish word, then look no further. Besides the staggering number of entries and options available to customize the app, I feel the real strength and major selling point is the regular updates and personal responses to questions or complaints is second to none. I could say many more positives about this app, but will end by saying the only minor shortcoming might be the need for an internet connection for the spoken pronunciations. In my opinion this small inconvenience is far outweighed by the enormity of it's data -base.

Great!. Robust translation dictionary. I love that it also contains definitions, so I don't have to keep switching between different dictionaries. It's intuitive and chock full of information. And I was extremely pleased to find that IPA transcriptions of pronunciations (for multiple dialects!) have been added. I had been wishing for this feature in a dictionary app. Now it's an even stronger 5-star rating than before.

Better than the rest! By Far!. I've been using a different Spanish/English dictionary App for the past few years. I loved it. Unfortunately their syncing feature doesn't work anymore, sort of. In a very brief time, I've discovered that this App is going to be my favorite, period. I'm bilingual in English/Spanish and I live in Mexico, but English is my native language. I need a technical dictionary because that's where my vocabulary suffers. The interface is excellent. The ability to add folders to organize words is phenomenal. The syncing via Dropbox is excellent. The additional data provided in a search is excellent. And their conjugations are excellent, because that's the hardest part about Spanish. I would give it 10 stars if that was an option. Bravo to the designers and team that maintain this App.

The Gold Standard. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Now there is a flash card capability! And though I can't yet figure out how it works, I'm sure it eventually will because these guys just keep improving upon their already best-in-class app. Update: Can it get any better? They've made the flash card feature work better and easier and now it's not just an amazing reference tool, it's a learning tool. Wow. Incredible.

Extraordinarily useful. They have incorporated quickly suggested changes below.. This dictionary is quite comprehensive. The synonyms and antonyms,as well as the quotes, are also very useful. The syncing between devices is also a wonderful feature of this app. An addition I would recommend, I wish the manufacturer would also add a review game or flash cards of what you have listed as favorites to aid remembering those words you looked up. As I update this review, I can say that it deserves all 5 stars and I want to also second the request for more extensive examples of usage in Spanish, then translations of those examples. As always, wonderfully useful upgrades.

Excellent App. The previous customer said he had trouble opened it. I did too but the company who made the app gave clear instructions of how to make it work. It is an excellent dictionary as well as the other dictionaries they have. I am a translator and it makes my work easier. Thank you!

Pricey but worth it. I bought several less expensive dictionaries but continued to find a large amount of words that were not included. I avoided this dictionary because of the price, but it has been worth it. It is truly unabridged. They have also just updated the app to include extensive verb form tables and a "applet" program of flash cards of random words.

Great dictionary for me. I'm a native English speaker and a good but not native Spanish speaker. I like that this dictionary often includes many alternate meanings of various words. Each entry could be cleaned up a bit when looking for alternate meanings (look is a touch cluttered), but it's it's still good. Love all the synonyms in both languages, and that each is an cruce link that will take you directly to each entry. There are a number of example phrases with each entry, but I would like to see those expanded for each meaning (but this is a dictionary as opposed to a specific phrase dictionary). There are also verb conjugations, but I've not used those as much. I've enjoyed the app overall. Definitely worth the money compared to some cheaper dictionaries I had tried.

Amazing!. I have several Spanish/English dictionaries - and this is by far the best. I have found accurate translations for every word I have ever looked up (including slang). It is also incredibly quick and easy to use - no need to specify whether you are looking for a Spanish-to-English or an English-to-Spanish translation. I have yet to explore some features, but it is now my go-to dictionary. Love it!

Very Comprehensive!. This is a complete translation dictionary! I'm able to learn verb tenses and conjugations that I struggle with. My only wish would be the ability to compare English and Spanish conjugations side by side, and be able to tap a conjugation in the list to see an example. Very useful app overall!

INCREDIBLE!!. I never thought that I would be able to find anything this comprehensive for mobile devices. It has not only complete coverage of all common meanings and usages, but also an extensive list of phrases and idioms that use the word. Not only E-S and S-E, but also E-E and S-S. It also can function as a thesaurus in both English and Spanish! Well worth the cost! UPDATE: The update (Jan 2012) works great on my iPhone 4S. Absolutely NO problems with installation, and it seems to improve the functioning of the program. I use it constantly and fully recommend this dictionary! I can't imagine a better dictionary, on any platform or at any price.

I still like this dictionary. It's a very good app for finding a whole arrays of words and phrases in both languages, unlike other dictionaries which force you to search just a key word and then find the phrase in question. However, the only down side to this app is that sometimes the language text-to-speech audio portions are switched in the examples. Try searching "On the line" and you will hear what I mean.

A learning tool as well as a dictionary. I like the fact that when you have looked up a word you can add it to your favourites and then run the flash cards on those favourites to help you learn rather than just keep looking up. I also like the examples of where the word is used in sentenses. It is worth the money Update after one year - i still think it is well worth the money

Best English/Spanish Dictionary I've Owned. This is my first Spanish English dictionary app. However, I have owned a number of printed Spanish/English dictionaries, some of which are very good and highly recommended. This beats them all not just for the ease of reference, spoken pronuciation, and other attributes not possible in a printed dictionary, but also for the completeness.

Clinical Spanish. I just completed a Spanish Immersion Clinical Elective. As in the past, i relied heavily upon my tattered, pocket-sized Spanish-English dictionary. Unfortunately, that book just didn't cut it in a clinical setting. Fortunately, I purchased this app and all was well again. It has a beautiful layout, a quick and easy search feature and hyper-links to synonyms, etc., within each entry. I'm quite pleased with its content and speed.

Great!. I am glad I decided to buy the unabridged version. This is one of the best dictionary apps I have used. I am also enjoying the new random button with one caveat: If I turn off technical and difficult words, the dictionary interrupts me over and over to tell me which word it just blocked. Makes it hard to shuffle through random words. Fantastic app otherwise. Keep up the good work.

Almost too detailed. Great study tool.. Hands down the best digital Spanish English dictionary if you are serious about learning the language. Especially helpful in that it covers idiomatic/slang usage in various regions. Interface is a little dense, but you can toggle what elements you want to see (synonyms, antonyms, quote examples in both language, slang by region etc). Complete offline access which is invaluable for studying outside the home. Flash card game works pretty well too.

You can look up all conjugations and colloquialisms. This has become my "go to" Spanish dictionary. You can look up a conjugated verb, not just an infinitive. But best of all, you can look up colloquialisms! Many times when reading, I come across a group of words that make no sense together. But if I look them up here, more times than not, there they are, with the colloquial meaning in English. This dictionary isn't perfect. For instance, when looking up a colloquialism, oftentimes one must change it to the infinitive version before finding it. Here's an example: you won't find "quedó mal", but you will find "quedar mal." Also, I would like more extensive examples of words being used in sentences. But this is still a very unique and helpful resource. You can mark difficult words or phrases and sort them into categories you have created. Then drill on them. Very useful. Highly recommended.

I usually never rate apps, but..... ... This one is really good. I just started a bilingual masters program and it is HARD! My other dictionaries could not keep up with the higher-level Spanish that I'm using. I really didn't want to spend the money on the app, but I took a chance and bought this one along with the same brand of a Spanish business dictionary. The app is totally worth every penny and is more in-depth than I expected. It even comes with synonyms in both languages so I can use it as a thesaurus too. It's saving me a ton of time and improving the quality of my work. I'm very happy and would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful. Best value app I have. Very fast. Easy to navigate. I have never seen a dictionary that lets you get to verb conjugation so easily. I live in Mexico and now everybody bugs me if I have my Ipad with me because they know they get a quick answer to their language problems. 5 stars are not enough!

Great Dictionary. This dictionary is amazing. It has more entries than any other I have used. It recognizes if you put in a conjugation for a verb, shows you the root verb and tells you which conjugation it is. If you misspell a word it shows suggestions that often contain the proper word. Many, many words show up like links, in that they have a sound file associated with it... so that you can tap the word and listen to how it sounds. I switch back and forth between iBooks and this app to look up words I don't know. It is very rare that it doesn't have an entry for one, at which point I consult my wife (A native spanish speaker who usually tells me its a very obscure word, or a word that is only used in some particular geographical area). Highly recommended. The only caveat I would note is that my iPad lists this as taking up 1.1GB of space! I personally like this, as it reveals how extensive it is, and that it all is on your device... With no need for internet connection to look up stuff.

Constantly nags you to rate the app. I had been waiting to rate this app until I had some more experience with using it. But I'm so sick of the constant nagging to rate the app. The app will literally pop up a message asking you to rate the app dozens of times a day. It seems that if you're in another app for more than a couple of minutes or so, as soon as you return to this dictionary app it pops up the same message begging for a rating. I always select "Maybe Later" because I did want to remember to rate the app one day, but I've had enough with the constant annoyance. For the continual, repeated annoyance of begging for a rating, I'm rating this app one star. Now next time I see the popup asking for the rating I can select "No Thanks" and hope I never have to see that message again.

Buy this version. Includes legal and business terms!. Excellent dictionary. Like that it provides antonyms and synonyms for word choices. It also offers applicable phrases, but sometimes only in one language. I've also noticed that certain (though in all fairness, obscure) legal terminology is missing. Nevertheless, it serves all my needs and did away with my desire to buy a physical English-Spanish dictionary. Much more economical and portable. Definitely a good buy.

Fabulous, But Missing Key Ingredient. I love this app! The verbs are fully conjugated in both Spanish AND English, so if you never knew what the conditional subjunctive tense was in ENGLISH, now you know... The comprehensive medical dictionary is unparalleled, and having it in the palm of my hands is priceless. My only complaint is that (unless I have somehow overlooked it) there appears to be no entry for whether Spanish nouns are masculine or feminine. Most of the time, it's simple, yes, but when the ending makes it unclear, a little guidance would be nice. Otherwise, I'd have given this app a 5 star rating.

Huge Dictionary - Excellent Reference. Note that this is both an English to Spanish and Spanish to English dictionary. It's very similar to their Reference (i.e., General) version, but has a lot more words. Other than that, it is very similar and has all the same strengths. If you don't need all the extra specialized words, then the Reference version is probably good enough, but if you need 'em this dictionary is great! The dictionary combines English and Spanish on the same page and lets you switch language with a button. The audio is synthesized, but it's very understandable and clear. You can "favorite" words for easy retrieval and it keeps a history of words you've looked up too. Text is set to one size, but it seems large enough. A pinch to expand gesture would be nice, but not essential. I really like the user interface, it looks classy and is very functional without a lot of confusing buttons and settings -- everything you need is on the same screen. Objectionable words can be turned off if you wish - or turned on if you want them. Highly recommended!

Indispensable dictionary. This dictionary, which works for both English and Spanish, is still the very best I've found and easy to use. It is well worth the price to have this app at your fingertips. A plus is that the info is all on my iPhone, including the audio, so I can use it anywhere. All a verb's tenses are quickly accessed from the V in the right hand corner. It's easy to click around in the synonyms to find the best term. Plus with the antonyms, it works as a thesaurus. The definitions, examples, quotes, and sometimes pictures, combine for a clear understanding of the word. The little flags show which country uses a particular term. The Example Phrases help to understand how the word is used. The tech support is also excellent and prompt.

Retired Texan in Colombia, SA. I am retired living in Colombia. I don't know what I would do without this app. It is the most complete I have found and very few times have I searched and not found helpful explanation. This apps treatment of verbs excels by far all others I have used. It is near perfect, and they still send me updates with improvements from time to tome. I recommend it highly.

Great app. I use this dictionary every day, reading Spanish novels. The makers keep improving it - now my notes on definitions are visible, without my having to click on anything. I reported a bug, it was fixed right away. I've tried several of the free apps - this one is definitely worth the price.

Fantastic dictionary set!. I can't say enough about how thorough and accurate this dictionary is! I honestly never thought I would find one like this, much less for $25 for the unabridged, legal-medical-technical-included version that I purchased after using the basic version for a couple of months as a trial. I have two Master's degrees in Spanish (one from TX and the other from the University of Salamanca in Spain) and I am currently a student in a professional certification program for bilingual court interpreters. In short, I know my way around a dictionary! While no single resource is ever enough in language professions, the Word Magic dictionary has become a staple in my collection. The fact that it's on my phone and accessible anytime WITHOUT having to be on a Wi-fi connection is unbelievably great. I have recommended this app to other language geeks (friends and colleagues) and have received many sincere thanks for doing so. Whether you are a seasoned Spanish speaker and ESPECIALLY if you're a beginner in need of a good dictionary, this is the one! Get it! :)

Excellent for newbies to Spanish including docs. Excellent medical source. This is an excellent source for physicians working with Spanish-speaking patients. It is very accurate and thorough. At times I have to look a little deeper or come at it from different angles to get the answer I'm looking for but I usually find it. This is superb for medical terminology but just like working with anything else it helps to use other sources to supplement this text. I personally use this text along with Google translate to compose my own statements to use in the office. I have customized over 100 pages of information that has been very useful in my practice. It took a fair amount of work but it's been absolutely worth it in the quality of my interaction with patients and in the speed it adds to the office visits. I highly recommend this text.

Impressive big dictionary. I am impressed with the careful separation of meanings in the translations given by this dictionary. Probably the best feature of this recommended application. Suggestions: [1] Implement swipe left/right in any place of the screen to move to the previous or next entry on the history. This is significantly useful when one taps one word by accident. Currently, one has to access the history screen and search the previous word to back to it again. [2] Provide recorded pronunciation for the most common words, they are useful when one is offline, and therefore, when an application like this is more required.

Great overall reference!. I truly enjoy having this dictionary as part of my Spanish/English language toolbox. It provides useful definitions by parts of speech with examples. I love that common phrases are in the dictionary, too. It works as a thesaurus as well as a dictionary. It's the first place I look when I am searching for just the right word. I love this dictionary more every time I use it. I have become very fond of the quotations that are nestled in with some of the definitions. I would dearly love to be able to search for one I just saw. They seem change randomly when you open the definition. They are a delightful surprise.

On point. More or less perfect but I would love a little more in the way of background info on a word if that's possible. It makes sense for English but I'm not sure about Spanish. Either way this should be standard for anyone learning Spanish or even someone bilingual already who just wants a good Spanish/English dictionary.

Outstanding!. After finding the compact version wonderful, I upgraded to the unabridged version for verb conjugations and the expanded medical terminology. I couldn't be happier. It is smooth and fast with a robust vocabulary and assortment of usage examples. The favorites list and the history of recently searched words have both been useful. I move back and forth between this app and other programs of Spanish study. It is well worth the money. I don't think the compact app makes it clear, but the unabridged version has ALL add-ons made by Word Magic including verb conjugation, medical and legal terminology and the expanded examples and vocabulary. Thanks for a superb app.

Major Helps. I spend a great deal of time translating from English to Spanish. Your dictionary has been a significant help for that application. I have a print-copy of a very good dictionary but the chapters are too small and takes 3-4 times longer to use than your i-Pad app. The expense was minor compared to a printed dictionary and I am very pleased with it's usability. If you translate, this app is a must.

Best of All. The is without a doubt the best English/Spanish-Spanish/English dictionary I have ever had the pleasure of using on-line. Reading gospels in Spanish at Sunday Mass is so much easier. It not only gives definitions, but also has an option that not only pronounces the nouns, but pronounces the conjugated form of the verb in the style spoken in the region where I live. It's the best.

Best Dictionary Ever Used. This is the best Spanish-English dictionary I've ever used. It let's me listen to how native speakers say a word or a phrase with the word in it, and there are 100's of 1000's of phrases. It's also an Unabridged Dictionary of Spanish AND English, so you can use it as such for either language. And almost every word gives you phrases in which it's used.

Outstanding application. I am learning Spanish now and have found this app to be indispensable. I can enter any Spanish or English word in whatever form (conjugated or plural) and it finds the right entry. Fantastic! This puts my German dictionary to shame! I had to take away two stars. The last two or three versions continually crash after unlocking my 3rd gen iOS 6 iPod. Too bad. Update: I now have an iPhone 5s and the app is back to five stars.

Exactly what I was looking for!!. This app has an enormous amount of translations that I haven't been able to stump it in almost 3 months of consistent use. More importantly it has a very user-friendly and initiative interface. Being in the process of learning Spanish as a second language, the sound clips provided for every word is priceless. On top of that, EVERY SINGLE definition is accompanied by around ten to twenty example sentences. Don't be afraid of the price tag. The knowledge you will gain far out weigh what you pay.

Word Magic Unabridged - Great product. Content is rich and deep. Only thing I would like to see improved - it does not seem to recognize conjugated verbs. It is a big download - on the plus side, once you get it you will have access to the whole thing without an internet connection, as it is stored locally.

Excellent. I have been using the various versions of this dictionary for years. It is always excellent and never fails to offer a clear translation and also gives excellent examples of different uses of words. There is also pronunciation of words which is available off-line.

Good content, app still needs work. The dictionary's content is great, A good amount of dichos and synonyms. The definitions appear to accurate, even for obscure meanings, however the app leaves something to be desired. The search feature is ok, but if you misplace an accent it won't find the word. It should make use of a Spanish keyboard also. Load time for an entry sometimes approaches 20-30 seconds, I realize that there's a lot of content, but there's no reason for it to be that slow. The app has a huge memory foot print which makes multitasking extremely slow. On the original iPad when you switch to another app this app's views almost always get released, which means the app has to load complete from the beginning when you try to switch back to it.

Excelente...but. This app has been so educational over the past year. It's handy to be able to use without Internet and its breadth of vocabulary is astounding. I used to think that the app size wasn't quite worth it. However, after using this app consistently for 3 to 4 years now I can definitively say that it's a valuable educational tool. Not just that, but, it's also a joy to use.

Excellent Unabridged Spanish-English Dictionary!. This is not the most expensive iPad app I own, but it’s close. I expect a lot from it, and I haven’t been disappointed. I’ve been using this unabridged dictionary for several years now, and am very happy with it. It’s convenient having access to an unabridged dictionary at all times on my iPad, wherever and whenever I need it, regardless of whether or not I have internet access. I find it to be fast, accurate and a pleasure to use. Though I still enjoy using the four or five high quality Spanish or Spanish-English hardbound dictionaries I own when I’m at home, I use them much less often now--mostly to satisfy my curiosity about word etymologies. The lack of Spanish word etymologies is the only significant fault I find with this dictionary. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied. If you need a good Spanish-English / English-Spanish dictionary, don’t hesitate to get this. It’s well worth the money.

This is the one. I've been really pleased with this app. It's a great English-Spanish and Spanish-English dictionary, but what makes it a compelling buy for me is that it's also a very good English-English and Spanish-Spanish dictionary. It also has some excellent quotes. What prompted me to write this review right now was looking up the work kettle. I was greeted by good translations and also a choice quote by Gustave Flaubert (in English and Spanish). I love it! I've found also that the developers are responsive to feedback. A while back I made some user interface suggestions, and they were added within the month.

A bargain at twice the price. This app reflects an enormous investment of thought, time and wisdom in its creation and development. It is more useful and user friendly than ANY app that I have ever used. Its exhaustive list of searchable idiomatic expressions alone is worth the purchase price, and the humorous quips and quotes included in many definitions in English and Spanish make it entertaining to use as well. If you want the most useful Spanish-English reference book available, this is the one for you. This one has earned 6 stars!

Great Diccionario becomes even better. I'm rating it one star now because the nags are coming a few days apart. I do not want to rate or review every minor upgrade. Stop the nags and I'll go back to 5 stars. Old:I'm lowering this rating to three stars because of the app constantly nagging for a new review after every update. It's really bothersome. Other than that, this is a five star app. I've relied on it for the past five years. It's really the best for either iPad or iPhone, especially when you are not online.

Essential - Absolutely the best!. Sure it's a little pricier than the average ap. But it's also very clear that the developers of this ap labor for love. It must have consumed thousands of hours to develop the ap and countless more to maintain and constantly improve it. Vale la pena (it's worth it). In my opinion you won't ever regret purchasing it (or one of its less costly, but a little less extensive brothers) It has helped me immensely in learning and improving my Spanish while living and working in South America. And as a bonus it's a pretty great English dictionary as well.

Excellent. Highly recommended. My go-to app for daily use. Much better than the Oxford dictionary. The only improvement I might suggest is that the conjugations take up a larger panel on the main screen instead of a pulldown - for some reason, I'm always looking for the imperative, and it's a ways down the list.

Very very nice. If you are looking for such a dictionary, this is about as good as it gets. Perhaps the only thing to say is maybe it could use a bit of optimization. It is a tad slow and has a bit of lag sometimes... but then again it is a huge app... not sure how much faster it could really be.

Excellent and comprehensive. I am impressed with this dictionary. I'm currently living in Central America in an immersion school and I have tried many other dictionaries. This one is by far the best one out there. It is the most comprehensive. I also am learning medical Spanish and this one contains the medical terms which others do not. I highly recommend this dictionary!

Fenomenal!. I'm a veteran Spanish teacher and use this app DAILY! I love the explanation of words by part of speech but find I value most the idiomatic expressions by country. While I have found a couple of verb conjugation errors (ones that contradict with the RAE), I HIGHLY recommend this app and feel it's worth every penny! I have recommended it to my students as well!
