Very nice dictionary. This is a very nice dictionary. Especially nice is the list of idioms and phrases that are instantly available for each word you look up. Those are worth double the price of the dictionary. The included verb conjugations are icing on the cake ... A thick layer of icing. I don't think that I've opened my book-form dictionary since I bought this one. If you are a student of Spanish, at any level, this will be one of the best purchases you'll make.

Very good , but.... This is a good app. It tells you different ways to say the same word in different countries. However, it would be helpful if it also included at least the basic conjugations: past, present and future tenses.

Very, very useful. This app is really worth the money. I use it almost everyday. I really love the pronunciation tools, the common phrases included in the dictionary, and the verb conjugations, but sometimes the verbal part doesnt sound (sad face). I use this in class on my iPad and I use it at home for research. It is an awesome tool. The quality of the app is good and the visual colors are good as well. So far, I haven't really found any major glitches. Keep up the good work, app designers. Please fix the audible thingy, however. Continue to make good quality apps that are worth the consumers' time and money. There are apps that I regret purchasing but not this one, but the audio thing is too slow sometimes.

Fabulous resource. I use this constantly and find it very helpful. The interface and organization are good. I agree with those who say that the verb conjugations should include the English translations. That is its one major flaw. To get those I bought the sister product with just verbs. That app does the job but searches can return odd results sometimes. I also bought the add on to this app that gives more example phrases. I like having those too. To make this app even more useful I would like to see it work with Siri. Often I want to look up a word while I am driving. If this app could do that it would fantastic. I would pay extra for that feature. Another request: make it work with iCloud so that Favorites are the same on all devices.

Outstanding Reference App. This is my go-to reference when I’m reading any text in Spanish. I can enter the word exactly as it appears in the text and this app will find it. Of course this is especially helpful for verbs. The more I use this app the more features I appreciate. I especially like the examples of uses of the word in context. I can explore other words mentioned, such as synonyms and easily return to the word I searched on.

No sound no matter what I do. No sound for a long time and this morning they was suddenly sound. I had almost deleted the App after trying many time to fix the problem. Somehow it fixed itself and I love this dictionary.

Mikel. Very helpful app for us while in Cabo. Being able to use it offline helped us find purchases for our condominium without having to use sign language and gestures while in the stores. (Try buying tools,etc at Home Depot without knowing what things are called!!). It also helped facilitate a conversation with a New Mexican friend who is trying to learn English. He was so impressed he decided to buy the app himself for his trips to the states. The full version is worth every penny if you travel to Mexico, or even if you just want to increase your Spanish vocabulary. Highly recommend it!

Excelente, excellent. This and Ultralingua are the two best translation apps I have found. While UL is clean and fast, Word Magic adds more meat to the definitions and is especially useful for finding words included in a phrase, like "military intelligence," for example. I would say that Word Magic is better for "exploration." PS - I wish people who review apps would stick to reviewing the app and not use reviews to ventilate their tech support frustrations UNLESS they have attempted to contact support multiple times and the company has failed to respond. In that case, the lack of response is a valid issue, but down rating an app because the latest version doesn't run on your ancient iPod and you haven't even tried to resolve it with the company is insulting to them and us. /rant off

Muy Bueno!. This is by far the best dictionario por Español y Inglis. I'm just starting out learning Español and is a tool I rely on hourly. I can sort words into personalized categories and then use the flash card feature to quiz myself in each category. It would be helpful if one could make subcategories and be able to add your own words. That aside, this dictionary is worth the $$$!

Good Dictionary. I use this Spanish-English Dictionary app, all the time. It helps me learn Spanish idioms similar to those that I know in English.

Excelente diccionario. This is an excellent Spanish English dictionary! The best I’ve found! Worth every penny.

Best (now only) dictionary for three years in South America. I tried several dictionary apps when I started learning Spanish for a year of extended travel in South America. This one is by far the best and since I moved to Colombia two years ago has been the only dictionary I use. The verb conjugations provided for each verb are priceless. The pronunciation audio is helpful - but remember there are many local accents - but this gets you close enough to be understood. The photos/images are frequently helpful in food shopping - "What do they call coriander here?" Finally the sample phrases frequently help me distinguish subtle differences in meaning or remember words. Other useful features include looking up words without having to specific the language (so much faster) and listing potential words before you finish typing. Overall I highly recommend this dictionary. I've used it daily for years and it works wonderfully. The only criticism/warning is that the audio pronunciation of the word only works offline. But it will play audio even offline - it just plays the last word you played again. Typically this will be obvious but I had one occasion where it was close enough for me not to notice. I call that language humor!

Simply the Best. I have studied Spanish through high school and college taking classes till the highest level of completion. I studied Spanish in Mexico for three months at a private language institute and carried around the once mandatory book for every serious Spanish student, 500 Spanish Verbs. Never in all those years have I ever had a Spanish dictionary or verb conjugator as good as this app. The most amazing thing is that it fits in your pocket in your phone app. For an app it was expensive but I have never regretted it and use it constantly. This app is all you'll ever need. Throw everything else away.

A most excellent app!. This is one of the apps I use frequently, since I do a fair amount of translations and I find it extremely helpful and accurate. Highly recommend!!!

The best. I had to learn Spanish to study full time in a Spanish speaking country. Life would have been so much harder without this app. It’s just amazing. It’s so simple to use. It’s so thorough. And the layout of the conjugations for the verbs is just superb. I paid for the medical add on. I’ve never had any regrets with this app.

Great Dictionary!. Note that this is both an English to Spanish and Spanish to English dictionary. I have a few Spanish to English dictionaries and this one is the nicest. It combines English and Spanish on the same page and lets you switch definition language with a button. The audio is synthesized, but it's very understandable and clear. You can "favorite" words for easy retrieval and it keeps a history of words you've looked up too. Text is set to one size, but it seems large enough. A pinch to expand gesture would be nice, but not essential. I really like the user interface, it looks classy and is very functional without a lot of confusing buttons and settings -- everything you need is on the same screen. Objectionable words can be turned off if you wish - or turned on if you want them. Highly recommended!

The best English-Spanish dictionary.. This dictionary is really amazing. Complete definitions of each word are presented in both languages, in the same page, with several examples, synonyms and antonyms. I've tried several dictionaries before, but none come close to the huge amount of information provided by this one. And the price is unbeatable, specially if you compare it with the ridiculous prices set by the competitors for dictionaries not having 1/10 of the things offered by this one. The only complain: pronunciation is not available for all words and it requires an Internet connection.

Much better than Online search. Very nice! Ive found I'm much happier having the dictionary on my phone instead of doing a Google search or looking words up online. My only complaint is that I noticed a bug with the online pronunciation feature (the app got "stuck" doing pronunciation for one word till I exited and resumed it.). This has happened only once so far. One feature I'd like, but don't know if it's possible--when I open the dictionary with a word or phrase in the clipboard, I wish the app would look it up without my having to paste it into the search bar. (Maybe it could ask whether I wanted to look up the clipboard contents?)

Simply the Best English-Spanish Dictionary. As the title says, amazing dictionary, exhaustive and comprehensive. You don’t need another one, this one covers everything you will need. Just pay for the full because it’s worthy.

Impressive. I got this because my son is in a dual immersion program. Now I use it for myself even for standard dictionary lookups. The audio is nice for the translation pronunciation and also for explaining words to my son (he hears the English explanation sentence then the same explanation sentence in Spanish). Well made.

Diccionario. Excellent very helpful when you try to translate a word and get a very good explanation. I recommend it.

With one change, they destroyed the app. In a single upgrade this product goes from 5 stars to 1 star (and I would give it a zero if I could). In the new version 7.0.0, suddenly the verb conjugation feature no longer works, making the app essentially useless. You would think the developers would have noticed this before releasing the product.

Terrific and Comprehensive App. This is a wonderful app that is intuitive, fast and astonishingly complete and up to date, including full, self-pronouncing conjugations with a choice of voices and dialects. I have taken four university Spanish courses in the past 18 months and use this app daily. It seems to cover even the most obscure regional words and definitions. It is also lightning fast and continues to improve with each update. Highly recommended! PS – Don't buy their desktop app. It is an outdated ripoff that cannot even conjugate "haber" correctly. But the iPhone version is incredibly thorough and accurate.

An excellent App!. I find this to be an extremely valuable tool in my attempt to learn the Spanish language. It is very thoughtfully assembled with an easy to use interface that seems effortless to anyone acquainted with an IPad or iPhone. The bilingual dictionary is exhaustive and features audio cues to assist in proper pronunciation. Combined with other Apps, it has helped me enormously. I would recommend it highly to anyone learning the language, or looking to expand their Spanish vocabulary. Worthy of 5 stars.

Verb conjugations and examples. Lots of nice features including antonyms and synonyms, ability to create and study from a list of favorites, ability to search on various forms of verbs. Examples of phrases using words. Different dialects of Spanish and English are made clear.

Excellent app. I purchased this a couple of years ago while learning Spanish and still use it nearly every day. It’s well organized, responsive, and works well. It can be particularly handy at times since it works offline.

Extensive info. Includes definitions of term used in a variety of dialects and synonyms.

Occasional errors, but well worth the price. Occasionally, I have found quotations with Spanish on both sides (not Spanish/English). I have also found quotations with the desired word on the English side but not on the Spanish side. (I think this may be due to the fact that the database of Spanish is generated by a program.) However, the vocabulary and verb conjugations are excellent, and I have not found any errors in them. I use this a lot in learning Spanish, and it is amazing that I have such a resource in a device that I carry in my pocket!

An updated alternative!. So, there I was, in Madrid. I lost the little langhenscheit spanish/English dictionary that I'd had for 35 yrs. Despondent, I retraced my steps to no avail. My daughter suggested that I download one. I downloaded this one and have been a changed man ever since! Since it's on my phone, it's always with me plus it offers all the features that langenscheidt offered and more. Although I'm sorry I lost my keepsake dictionary, I'm happier that I found this one! As the years passed and my study of Spanish continued I found this app to be ideal for all my Spanish language needs. True, it does not contain ALL the words in Spanish, I do have a Larousse dictionary at my desk which does.

You’ll never need another Spanish Dictionary!. This app is awesome! I use it every single day and I dare say I have never had to access another dictionary or search for a word online! My Spanish is rather advanced and STILL there is never a need for another app! I purchased a couple of other Spanish Dictionaries and wound up just deleting them! I’m a wordsmith and just love playing around with this interesting app. It’s ALL there. I use to spend summers studying in Mexico. I'd lug about twenty books with me- five or six of them dictionaries, one little one always in my purse. Now there'd be no need. I could just whip out this app on my tiny computer- my iPod. I would love if they added word games. That would make this already indispensable app even better! I don’t recall what I paid for this app but I’d certainly be willing to pay $5 or so for a fun upgrade. What do you think? 😉 I also recommend their Spanish Slang dictionary. Especially when I first learned Spanish learning the slang and the naughty words was no easy feat. You don’t want to mess them up because you sound rather foolish. And even if you don’t use them, it certainly can help to recognize them. I finally found a useful book but the Spanish Slang book is far, far better! I just purchased the slang app, in part to support this developer, and if you love 💕 Spanish like I do, you can spend hours playing with it. Oh, and a book of Spanish Idioms would be priceless as these developers are that good! In the interim, just go ahead and buy this app– you certainly won’t regret it!

Audio. I just purchased the General English Spanish app, but the audio does not work. I’ve looked in settings etc. And can’t find a fix. It’s of no use without the audio function.

More of a glossary than a dictionary. About 70% of the time the term I look up has no definition at all. This wouldn’t be a problem if I needed and expected a glossary, but this is advertised as a dictionary. Better apps out there for bilingual dictionaries. Important to note that I look up mostly health and medicine related terms so perhaps this is less of a problem for the general content.

Pastor. Great App. Thank you, you make my work easier.

The best I've used. This app is very comprehensive and hard to put down, but it isn't perfect. Most problematic for me is that very often I have to tap in the search field many times before a cursor appears. That is frustrating. Another issue for me is that it defines Spanish words in Spanish. I suspect most users speak either Spanish or English and are learning the other, so it seems that words in one language would be defined in the other language. Also, some words are displayed in the list on the side but seem to defy translation/definition (i.e., oído, sueño). When the word is selected, the app seems to process the selection endlessly. Oh, then there are many translations/definitions that display "@" in place of "a". Lastly, there is the issue of giving examples of word usage...that do not use the word at all. Nonetheless, again, this app is the best of the many I've used. I use it daily and would buy it again without hesitation!

Best practical app. I have on my iPhone and iPad many apps, the are just a few which I use on a regular basis and this is one of those. Great content, I always find what I'm looking for, the sugestions and samples are so useful when I need help writing something; I really love the pronunciation feature because I'm reading and writing in english every day but I don't practice speaking much so I helps with my pronunciation. The app is being update on a regular basis so you know is a product well taken care by the developers and you feel not abandoned. I really recommend this app to anyone, is worth every cent you pay for.

Derogatory towards females. I used to like this application very much and used it exclusively for my Spanish class. However, I’m noticing more and more examples of word usage sentences that are derogatory and negatively biased towards females. They are insulting and leave me feeling angry towards the writers. I’m looking for another application instead of this one.

Levels and Titles. Please make this feature optional. It wasn’t there when I purchased your APP, I find it silly and a nuisance, and I very much want it gone.

Love this app. Seriously the most helpful Spanish app I own, and I have approximately one million. No, really though I have a TON of apps for learning Spanish and this is BY FAR the most used. I would easily pay twice as much for it. The only suggestion I have, if any, would be that it would be nice if the favorites list appeared in the order that I made it, or at least give the option of organizing by date as well as alphabetically. The reason is because I may remember that I just looked up a word I wanted to learn but I don't remember what it was so I can't find it again.

Spanish Dictionary. It needs a clear entry option, otherwise it's 0k.

Most Comprehensive Spanish English Dictionary. I have 5 or 6 Spanish / English dictionaries that I use and my word Magic dictionary is better than all of them. I have the Collins, Oxford, and Berlitz Spanish dictionaries and none of them are as good as this one. I read a Spanish Bible everyday using the Olive Tree Bible app and when I click on a word it will bring up the Apple built in dictionary which habitually gives some minor definition of the word and omits the major one. Then I look up the definition in Word Magic and it gives me all of the meanings. Many times I can't find a word in my other dictionaries but it is in Word Magic. l only wish there was a way in IOS to make Word Magic my default Spanish / English dictionary instead of the one they use.

Accurate! Useful! Versatile!. I am a Spanish teacher. Use this app all the time with my students. Highly recommend!

Good and bad. Probably not the best for beginning or intermediate Spanish learners. Probably thorough for accomplished Spanish speakers. The amount of data is immense. The arrangement is a visual nightmare. Finding what you want is unlikely. But everything is there if you can make sense of the mess.

Greydawn. I'm very impressed, now I have an extensive English and Spanish dictionary with me at all times. I have had no troubles with this app.

There is such a thing as an awesome dictionary. If this app were a Spanish woman, I would marry her. I needed an offline Spanish-English dictionary when I was travelling in Central America, and this one worked like a charm. It gives extensive examples, conjugation lists, audio pronunciation (if you're connected to the Internet). I got a lot of mileage out of this app. The only thing I dislike about this app is the size it takes up- over half a gigabyte! If it could be compressed to half that size, it would be perfect.

Excellent. Beats lugging around my hefty dictionary! Easy to quickly look up words and find the right context. Even my Spanish teacher was impressed.

My Go-To Dictionary. I am learning Spanish and I prefer this dictionary to any other I have tried. I have tried many, including other highly used and popular dictionaries. Comparing translations with many dictionaries is very useful. However, this one is my favorite. I even link its online version to the translation app I use for reading Spanish documents, newspapers and PDFs.

Great for all levels. Overall, this app is really comprehensive and the verbs quite well laid out. As a learner of both English and Spanish, I would definitely recommend this program for both students. Just wish the program were complete and did not ask if we would like to purchase additional stuff.

Very Disappointing. I was wanting an electronic version but this program is so poor as to be almost useless. I wouldn't want it even if it was free.

Best Spanish offline dictionary so far. Very comprehensive and also forgiving and helpful, eg., you can type in a word and it doesn't mind that it is the 3rd person imperfect subjunctive, it tells you what the infinitive is. It also recognizes phrases which often mean something different than the single word. You can also find a listing of common prepositional phrases associated with a noun. All very useful when translating. Favourite dictionary so far!

Best dual-language dictionary ever. This is like an English-Spanish dictionary on crack. I used it extensively in Central America while studying and practicing my Spanish every day. It has every form of every verb, tells you how to pronounce everything, and rich explanations and examples. This app is the standard by which other dictionary apps should be judged. #worththemoney

SÍ,. Very impressive app.... It is similar to the website "Spanish dictionary", which makes me very happy ... Because idiomatic phrases and uses of the words are some of the more difficult things to learn. I appreciate the offline capabilities.

Very handy. I find this dictionary to be very handy. Not only does it give a good range of translations, but it also has good suggestions for using the words in colloquial expressions.

Not recommended for language learners. I spent $10 on this dictionary and I really don't find it easy-to-use. The definitions are complicated and provide lost lists of synonyms. Each word ends up being loads of information, when all you want is a 1, or a few, equivalent translations. This is overwhelming when you just want to build your vocabulary base. If you already speak Spanish and really want to enrich your vocabulary, or if you are doing some translation work, perhaps this is a more suitable tool. Another problem is adding words to your favourites. It's awful! If you add just one word to your favourites, you can end up 6 or more versions of that word on your favourites... Way to complicated and disorganized. Please keep it simple!

Great app. This is a great app. I'm learning Spanish and it's very helpful to not just find meaning but also context. I've been using it for a few months now and would strongly recommend it.

Excellent!. My first go to dictionary app for Spanish. Love the possibility to create lists of words and practice them using flash cards. It would be even better if it was possible to sync them through a cloud service.

Problem if you are vision impaired. This app is okay for sighted people but is not helpful for a blind person it would be easier once you say your sentence or word the response is immediate without having to find the word and click on it. It's very difficult to try and figure out. However for most people it's helpful and it does it require Wi-Fi

A lifeline during a year of language study!. By far the most robust and thorough app I've been able to find for learning Spanish. I've recommended it to many classmates.

Vancouver, Canada. This app used to be perfect until they changed the voice so that it can pronounce the words offline. Now, the pronunciation is inaccurate. Other than the IPA feature, there are other free apps that work just as well.

Excellent app. It works well for either English or Spanish words. For we English speakers what is terrific is that it will look up conjugations of even irregular verbs and show their meaning and which conjugation. The base verb is also shown and easy to link to. Having all the tense conjugations at hand is also great. There have been a couple if words where the meaning differs from the translation given by our teacher but very few.

Excellent. This is an excellent dictionary - very comprehensive and easy to use. It is simple to switch between languages. The ability to use it without the Internet is a huge plus when travelling.

Was great, update ruined it!. Loved this app until I installed the last update and now it won't work. Ever! It has the loading circle but never loads. None of the screens work and I can't search for words which just made it a GIANT waste of money!

Great!. I use this app as both a Spanish and English dictionary. It provides quick translations and definitions followed by details and extras. I use it on my iPhone so it is handy whenever I need it. It is great travelling because it does not need a data plan or wifi.

The BEST dictionary. We bought this dictionary on the recommendation of a friend in our Spanish class. It has been a great help, and so much more portable than a big heavy paper dictionary. The verb conjugations are so easy to use. We love it and have recommended it to others.

Best spanish dictionary ever. I have used this app for a few years now and i love it for the easy of use and completeness at this price. My only complaint is that in a recent update they changed the voice of the Spanish speaker, the new robotic voice is ghastly.

Great Spanish-English/English-Spanish dictionary. I am brushing up on Spanish and bought this app as a handy dictionary which I can carry along with me on my iPod during my travels. For the price ($7.99), this dictionary is extremely complete. The user interface is very simple and intuitive. From the same lookup window you can enter words in either English or Spanish and look up the translation in the opposite language. For each word entered, the translation dictionary provides a very complete definition as well as sample phrases, synonyms and antonyms.

Excellent reference. I have been using this dictionary along with Duolingo to learn Spanish. It has really been helpful. Terrific customer support from the developer, too.

Fine Spanish-English dictionary. I have yet to see the perfect Spanish-English dictionary, but this one is well on the way to it. Those Spanish words I can't find in it are usually very specialized words, often from sports articles in El País. The instant access to conjugated forms of the verbs is very useful. I recommend it highly.

Great App!. This was a last 2nd purchase as I was having some difficulty understanding some people I met while on vacation in the Dominican Republic, while off our resort. This was helpful in getting ideas across or clarify what signs said. Love the phrase examples, very useful too! Well worth the price I paid.

Great resource. This dictionary is maybe not comprehensive but it is very nearly so. Lots of slang from various countries, lots of examples of different words and expressions used in context. I depend on it in my struggles to learn a little Spanish.

Perfect. This dictionary is rarely stumped! Pronunciation in the audio samples is excellent.

Price vs performance. I bought another dictionary first. This one cost double but it's dirt cheap. I just started using it and I have to write this review now. I love this. I type anything in, spelled wrong, no accents, english or spanish ....and it is already guessing correctly what I am looking for. The descriptions are thorough and complex enough to be accurate. It is simple to use and fast. And when I thought it couldn't get any better, ....yes it talks too! The definitions will speak if you like. If you have a good start on Spanish or it is day one for you, this is what you need. There are so many forms of the verbs. In other dictionaries you need to know the correct spelling of the infinitive form of the verb. In this one, you can get almost everything wrong and still spot the word you need in a list. Well done! EASILY worth the money. Compare the features and think about it. Even though I paid for my other dictionary, I can see no reason to let it take space on my iPad. This one is that good.

Superb!. I have various hardcover Spanish/English dictionaries, but this is my favorite because it is succinct yet amazingly comprehensive and thorough! Hard to imagine a more convenient, useful and up-to-date resource. Nouns, synonyms, adjectives, verbs all clearly defined and illustrated; spelling hints when searching; pronunciation help when needed. And everything is set forth in a colorful and beautiful format! Undoubtedly, the best Spanish/English dictionary app available.

Worth every cent.. Very thorough, accurate, and easy-to-use. The pop-up suggestions while you type are very helpful in pointing out when you have encountered a colloquialism that wouldn't be conveyed very well with a direct translation. This app is offline, so very handy on vacations. The newer updates have decreased the memory footprint on your device, too. I highly recommend this app.

Very well-made. Really a fantastic dictionary, well worth the price. Very comprehensive (although sometimes synonyms get into silly territory, in English at least), which is my main criterion. Including regional and colloquial terms is also a big plus. Could include more example & set phrases -- I haven't bought the additional ones so maybe they are there, but still.

A Great, Reasonably-Priced Resource. I'm a little "pichirre" (meaning "cheapskate" in Latin America). I wasn't willing to spend big bucks on an app. Although I can stump it fairly easily - for example, pichirre doesn't appear - I find it quite helpful when I want to get a quick translation, need to check a definition, or simply can't quite remember how to say something. I look forward to future updates.

pocket language genius. Two weeks ago I couldn't think of think of the conjugation, then spent three minutes trying to describe fence. Well not anymore. This is very useful in everyday conversations. Perfect for those living in spanish speaking countries. I hope they develop the same thing for other languages.

Comprehensive but not very well designed. Slower and takes more clicks to get to the definition than similar apps. It's also so comprehensive that you often have to sift through a bunch of translations to find the right one. If you want something scholarly then this is great, but if you are in the middle of a conversation and want to quickly look up a word, it's kind of a pain. Also, the layout of the entries could be better. Items run together instead of being bulleted.

Very useful!. Use it daily. Gives multiple definitions if they exist. I especially like the verb conjugations and if you look up one verb form it immediately gives its definition with quick access to the rest of that verb's forms. Only complaint is - translations of examples go from one language's idiom to the other language's idiom without ever giving the literal translation.

The Last Download Update Froze the App!. This is a great app with excellent word coverage of both English and Spanish BUT after paying for the app and using it happily for a couple of months I downloaded the latest update for the program and ever since, the app will NOT OPEN -- it's crazy. Is the new update making the program only compatible with the newest 4.0 software users of iPods? I'm using a touch with 3.1 and the earlier versions of the program worked marvelously. What can I do? I'm afraid to spend another $8 on a program that might just freeze up and be worthless again! RATS.

Great help!. When I recently traveled to Baja Mexico, I realized I was missing a Spanish dictionary. I bought this App after careful review of the various competition. I was delighted. It does English- Spanish and vice- versa. It is smart and provides an easy user history of words previously looked up. There are many more features that would take too long for me to discuss here. Suffice it to say, I'm pleased with this app and would highly recommend it.

Only English-Spanish dictionary you need. I've been living in Spain, and taking Spanish classes, for over a year now. I've tried just about every dictionary app out there, and this is now the only one on my phone because it's all I need. Has virtually every word I've ever needed, plus many phrases. Excellent verb conjugation. Seriously, it's worth every penny.

Great dictionary but.... I love many things about this dictionary... The verb conjugation and the audio portion that let's you hear the correct pronunciation of a word. What is pretty much terrible are the quotes and the example phrases. I have yet to find an example phrase useful ( going on 2nd year of using this) and really wish they would change this. Hopefully they read their reviews.... Would get 5 stars if could provide useful examples, especially with idioms like hacer and tener.

This dictionary always gives me the most accurate and best answers when it comes to find the right translation for words according to the context. The most useful dictionary for learning. I'm a relatively advanced Spanish language student, and do much of my reading in Spanish nowadays in order to build vocabulary. This dictionary is the best for me since it's responsive and is great at catching conjugations I may have missed in recognizing the word. It also throws in some great extra info in the form of related quotations. I love it.

So Handy. There are better dictionaries, but they are in print and, in the end, they aren't all that much better. There are some specialist needs for more thoroughness and detail. But this one is good. I read a lot in Spanish, but I am not a native speaker. I appreciate the convenience of finding that one unknown word with just a few keystrokes.

Excelente.. Excelent Spanish dictionary, however...Look up Israel and it states that "el capital es Tel Aviv." That is totally incorrect as their capital is Jerusalem. Please get your facts straight, guys!!! That having been said, I used this to read "El Crimean de Medusa" since I couldn't find a copy in French. It is an awesome dictionary, even making it quick to look up verb forms such as the present & past participles. Good work, guys. Whenever I read something in Spanish, this will be my go-to dictionary!

Great software. This is one of the most extensive dictionaries I've seen. It's very detailed and user friendly. I'd give it 5 stars but for one small complaint that hopefully the developer can address. I'm studying Castilian spanish. The voice options for Spanish pronunciations are American Spanish only. There are quite a few subtle differences from that and Castilian, namely the "th" sound instead of the "s" sound for some c's and z's. I'd like to see a Spain Spanish speaker option added.

Must have!. I love this app! It is helping me learn some basic Spanish. You can choose from different types of Spanish for instance I chose Mexican Spanish. The app is intuitive in that it gives examples. I like the fact that it has a speaker that enunciates the word properly so that you know how you are doing while you're learning how to speak. I really like that it has multiple languages. I think it will be very useful if I ever travel to a foreign countries.

Does everything promised, very well!. Whether your native language is Spanish or English, this app is very easy to use, informative, relatively comprehensive, and works seamlessly with the verb conjugator by the same developer. Hard to understand the few less than very good ratings; it would be hard to ask for a better dictionary.

Spanish verbs and phrases beware!. We have a weapon that allows learning you buggers so much easier. And it's name is "word magic". Seriously this is a must-have for any Spanish learner. It's verb conjugation and phrase access is amazing. To make it even better the service response you get from the company fast and personalized. If you have any interest in learning Spanish do yourself a favor buy this app.

The first Spanish dictionary I open. One of the best Spanish dictionaries. I can save my favorites and they are in alphabetical order. Other dictionaries save them chronologically, which isn't as helpful. I like that it contains short phrases like ni siquiera and darse a perros. I also like the feature that allows me to scroll back to words I've looked at recently. This is the Spanish dictionary I open first.

I use it a lot!. Best one I could find. Could be better. I was just wondering if the word idiota is really masculine though it ends with an a. Figured out that indeed it is, by looking at examples. But why not just include the gender at the top near pronunciation. But even more upsetting is that often the example sentences don't match the word but rather a synonym of the word. But I love this diccionario and use it all the time.

A Great App. Good for learning. Awesome for looking up facts and conjugation. They have great examples as well. Really a must have for learning. Pretty much all the info is available off line; only the audio seems to be not available off line. The verb conjugation in all tenses is really good as well as the audio for pronunciation. The app keeps getting better and better. There are also professional versions for business, medical, legal and the like. Two thumbs up for sure. If You are serious about learning, this is a must have app/program for any smart phone or tablet.

REALLY useful. I'm using this app at a 4 week Spanish immersion school in Costa Rica, and it's a lifesaver. Lots of good features, but by far the best is the complete list of verb conjugations, available at the touch of a button for each and every verb. Has completely obsoleted my verb book and saved LOTS of time.

Perfect for deep-diving for business use. I took Spanish 35 years ago and suddenly now speak it daily at work over the phone. This really helps me between calls to get it back quickly and accurately- it's a great app. Wish we had stuff like this when I started taking Spanish 35 years ago.

Love this app and I will not never loose my favorite words anymore!!. Three months ago, I gave one star to this app because after I updated the newest version, I lost all the words I saved in my favorite. However, this problem has been fixed in the latest version. So, I have to give this awesome app 5 stars. I have been studying Spanish in Salamanca for 4 months and I purchased about 5-6 apps for my Spanish studies. This app is the best and I use it everyday!!!

The most comprehensive dictionary out there. I commented before on improvements I wanted to see added and the company came through very quickly. I use this app all the time as I'm currently living in Spain. Pronunciation, conjugation, tons of definitions, and example phrases. Please keep up the good work!

Best on the App Store!. I don't generally write reviews, but this app was by far the best out of all the dictionaries or translators out there. I have looked at countless other apps, but this is the only one so far that has never led me astray. It is easy to use and well worth the money. If you need to translate words on a regular basis then this app is definitely for you.

Needs one more function...... This is a very good application, it does do much that other apps do not, but it will not translate phrases. I like the itranslate ultimate app because it will translate phrases, even whole sentences. If this app could do that then it would have all other apps beat, hands down. This one is more sophisticated than others in many ways, please add whole sentence and phrase translations so that this app can make all others obsolete.

Fabulous. I've been using WordMagic Spanish dictionary for many years on a variety of platforms, and this version is the best. It never lets me down, and keeps getting better and better as they revise and improve it. With this and SpanishDict, you are totally covered for a Spanish/English dictionary.

Excellant!. I really like the dictionary and use it daily. Worth the money to have easy access on my iPad. I give it 5 stars but with the caveat to note a module that is really needed for those of us that have to survive in a hispanic culture. Deep double meanings of the wide variety of slangs for Mexico. So to the developers....Hint hint! I still carry a book. But if you develop it, I will buy! Rgds, Tim

Excellent. I have only had this app for two weeks, but it has not let me down. I love that I can type in either English or Spanish in the search box. I appreciate multiple definition and context examples. I have my iPad with me in a Mexican hospital, and it has come up with translation going in either direction. I have lived in Mexico 5 years. Recommended to me by an American friend.

Best all round Spanish English dictionary. After using a half dozen apps and the paper ones too, I found this via a recommendation a year ago and am very happy with the paid version. One of the things I really is providing synonyms with each meaning in a definition to understand the actual usage

Great job!. I am very happy with this dictionary. After spending a few minutes just playing with I felt comfortable with using it. I love being able to type in the conjugated verb and get the infinitive and tense/person. It would be nice if that was was actually translated but you get enough information to figure them out. I also like having the definitions, synonyms, and antonyms for the words, especially those given in both languages.

I am sick of facebook icon evrywhere!. I would give it 4 or 5 stars for functionality, but I am sick of seeing everywhere facebook icon! Are you guys sick? I paid for this app and do not want to be abused by advertisements and facebook presence in my dictionary. Sorry but I am not fun of facebook and also would not like li ks to any othwr buisnesses. Also thet try to nickeldime you all the time. Why they ask me to pay for more examples how to use the word? It should be included in regular paid version and not be an upgrade. Becouse of that I would probably not purchase it again.

Awesome app.. I speak read and write in both languages and this app has been fantastic. I love all the options it gives you when a word is found to continue searching similar meanings. I find it very useful and its very extensive. My only regret is not having it sooner. I've had no problems after any updates. I hope those that have could get them corrected cause its a great app.

Great app. Big dictionary very scholarly. I purchased this app about a year ago and then upgraded to get all of the optional dictionaries of legal, medical etc. I am a full-time professional Spanish/English interpreter and I have used this application hundreds of times. As you might imagine if a full-time professional interpreter does not know a particular word it is by definition somewhat obscure. I recommend this app to all of my colleagues who are professionals as well.

Whom wouldn't want more?Always I get solutions but ever isn't bad idea if one can get something more. This tool is addicting and always has something else that i want to know like meanings or conjugations it's one big tool of helps and consults. Although isn't bad idea that you can give more at the customers that always follow and buy yours tools... Loyalties are important

amazing. if you want to learn and use Spanish. buy this app. now.. a must buy. has everything I needed. especially features for determining verb tense and origin of nouns by region or country. of all the Spanish English apps I've tried this is by far no comparison the best.

Good when it worked. I was pretty nervous about spending 8 dollars on an app. When I downloaded the app, it would only go to the home screen. The app didn't work despite numerous restarts of my iPod. I deleted the app and tried again but got the same result. I tried one last time and it actually worked. It is a highly useful app but was extremely frustrating to download. Also, it should have verb conjugations.

Amazing. This app has been extremely helpful to me. It is very thorough and gives multiple definitions and contexts. I also love that it has a feature that shows which countries a word may be slang to and that it also has a function which shows their conjugations. I wish this company would produce dictionary apps like these in other languages!

Useful app!!!. Very useful dictionary, I have found as many difficult words for some of my readings. I experienced a software problem when I downloaded the new software for iphone 4. the app was not working at all, I contacted word magic and they responded and guided me right away, now the app is working with no problems. Look no more. I took college Spanish and I'm trying to improve my conversational Spanish, this app is quick enough for me to organize my thoughts and best of all, look for idiomatic phrases on the fly. Well put together, easy to use. The other app I use is 501 Spanish Verbs. It doesn't get as much usage as this app, but more for reference and because I remember it was extremely useful in school.

Wide vocabulary and works offline.. This app has been very useful while shopping and navigating in Mexico. It is sufficiently fast in looking up words. Although it doesn't translate phrases, I like that you can enter a word in either Spanish or English from the main entry screen.

Ni una queja. This I everything I want in a Spanish dictionary. Not only is it better than any other app I've seen, it's even more useful and expansive than many physical book dictionaries that I've had, with synonyms and antonyms and target language definitions of words with each entry. Well worth the price!

Good resource. This is a good on-the-go resource for those who need a good working vocabulary when internet isn't always available. It seems a bit odd that you would need to pay for example phrases, but that is the prerogative of the developers I suppose. I would recommend this app to my friends, as I haven't found a comparable one for a lower price.

Lo mejor. An excellent app! Well worth the price and more. I have a couple Spanish dictionary apps including the pricey UltraLingua and this is by far the best. App is fast, complete, filled with options, and it used to have outstanding and responsive customer support - recently not very responsive. Conjugations! Synonyms and antonyms! Find a verb by a conjugated version. The only issues: it crashes a too often, there's often no feedback if a word can't be found, and their customer service has become unresponsive although they used to be fantastic. 95% replaces a book!

Almost perfect. This is the first place I look when I want to find a definition. The word is almost always in there, plus some additional information. I have noticed some minor glitches with the voice. The voice by the way sounds excellent just sometimes it doesn't change to the word I am reading.

The best Spanish/English I have found.. It keeps being improved, new words/usages are added frequently. I have all the add-ons - I think that makes it equivalent to the unabridged version. Is it perfect, no but it is getting there. I like that it distinguishes the usages by region where applicable. If it is not found just let the developer know and it will probably be added to the next update.

English Spanish Dictionary. As an interpreter, let me say that this dictionary is a fantastic tool to have at my fingertips. I always have my phone handy to look up words when conversing, watching TV, any time I want to check the translation of a word. The constant updates and additions are great, as are the examples of words used in context. Thank you for such a useful product.

Incredible App. I reviewed many apps for this purpose before settling on this one. I was really satisfied with it, but then they made it better by putting in the verb tenses. Wonderful!! I would highly recommend this app. If you are like me, try out the free version. It will make you want the full one, and the full one is worth the money and more!!
