Buggy with limited worth. As a cardiology fellow, I hoped this app would assist me with learning the vascular and anatomical structures of the heart from different orientations. Unfortunately the app is buggy, limited and not worth 18 dollars. It crashed over and over until I reset my iPad, and even then would occasionally crash or start with a garbled display. Trying to cut through the heart is buggy as well and only works sometimes. The biggest let down of this program is that it is not really 3D rendered on the iPad itself. It is more of a collection of pre-rendered pictures that you rotate through. What this means is that you can only spin the heart, and then turn it to look at the apex or the base- you can't rotate and then angle the shot or free look however you want. You are limited to a few "cut" shots as well and are not able to open the heart where you want. I would not be so hard on this app except for two reasons. First, for 18 dollars I expect a lot more quality and secondly, I absolutely hate seeing fake reviews (like the other two previous reviews). I wish I could have my money back. Buyer beware.

Best out there. I bought this app in an effort to find a visual way to demonstrate cardiac function as an electrophysiology to graduate nursing students. I ended up buying all of the in-app purchases and for the most part I am VERY impressed. There are a few ECG/EKG videos that do not have the correct rhythm displayed though. I would encourage review of these and correction. Otherwise a BEAUTIFUL product!

Love it and tip for user. I love how comprehensive this app is and the slices are amazing. The additional animations are also very helpful indeed. I'd like to make reference to the user who is having issues with the app, in order to see more labels, you need to remove the layers. Top app!

Heart Pro. I'm a cardiologist consultant and I am impressed by this product. The developers really have put a lot of effort into this product and it shows. The 3D model, images and animations are accurate and the real 3D gives added versatility - specifically been able to rotate the heart and get a transverse cut to show a superior view of the coronary arteries for example. WOW!. I work in a mixed cardiology practice as a nurse practitioner, serving both interventional and heart failure clients. I showed this app to my interventional cardiologists who were knocked out by the graphics and the accuracy of the diagrams. I will be incorporating these images in my plan of care to assist my illustration of cardiology to our patient population. Great job!

Great App. This app worked great for me. It loaded quickly, and the animations and 360 views were smooth and stunning. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, overall I'm very pleased with this purchase, though it was a bit on the pricey side.

DO NOT BUY. No way is this worth $1 let alone $10. I was tricked into buying it thinking it would integrate into the newer program from these developers. This app is obviously on the way out and I wasted $20 (for a bundle of 4) for essentially obsolete apps. I will now ask for my money back. Ripoff. And of course, apple doesn’t let you look for the “most recent” review or even sort by # of stars, obviously in collusion with the app developers to obfuscate how good apps are...starting to really dislike apple (RIP Steve Jobs)

AMAZING, PLAIN & SIMPLE. I am a student of medicine and have NEVER found pertinent medical information so readily available and user friendly. The animations are like nothing I've ever seen. The artistry as a whole is beautiful. BEST MEDICAL APP (and series) on the market.

It could be so much better!. Fantastic graphics. Beyond that, however, this app needs some work. It is very helpful in showing people structures and how blood flows. My suggestion would be that defects and disorders are included. If you could show a patient the normally functioning heart (what the app now offers) and then click and have it switch to a heart with CHF or one that has just experienced an MI, that would be great! Please consider these improvements! This could be a great learning tool. The graphics are so nice that I urge you to not stop at just a simple 3D model...keep going. Also, I too have problems running the app. If you double click the home screen button, all of the currently running apps will pop up along the bottom. Press and hold on one of the apps and them you can actually close out of the running programs.

What a learning tool !. I must concur with Apps Galore- This is an awesome application. Reminds me of The Elements App- the 3D features are beautiful. Especially love the feature where you can reduce the transparency layers and it creates new views of the heart with just the features you are interested in. Keep it up- We want more !!!!!

Good, over priced for what it comes with. I really love this company and all its apps, but this one seems to fall short. I have little problem dropping $20 for an entire system, but $8 or $9 for the heart but the heart acts like a bone... That doesn't do it for me. To look inside there are only 6 views, I would really like a"layer" of the outer part of the heart so you can see all the way inside and interact that way. I was also under the impression that this came with all the veins and arteries, but I can let that go. So please update the looking inside options

Won't work on my new iPad and no support. I have downloaded this app on my iPad2 three times, and it has never worked for me. It freezes on the very first screen and never opens. The only advice on their website is to delete and reorder, which I have done with no new result. I can't get a refund, and no one from their customer service has responded to my email (it's been three days). I'm out enough money to be upset. Yes, if it worked it would be a lovely app, but for me it was just throwing money away. iPad2 owners should only download this app if they are willing to risk losing their money.

Best app ever!. As a student of medicine i recommend this app to all of my colleagues because it show the arrhythmia and non arrhythmia cases of heart very clearly by animation. my aspect to all of written thing in all of the books absolutely changed. But some problem is it doesn't have voices of the heart and the resolution isn't so much to satisfy me. I hope this problem solve in next update.

Love this app. Although there is no sound on the animations, this app is great for teaching. It would be an EXCELLENT tool for teaching if there was an option for sound. Overall the quality of the images and the ability to manipulate the heart is unbelievable and it can be used to demonstrate just about anything in the heart. We have used it in the cath lab to explain new procedures to the staff, as well as using it to explain to patients the way the heart works. Five stars if sound was an option! It would save time!!

Excellent Apps! Highly recommend!. 3d4medical Apps are one of the best out there. The illustrations are outstanding and the details are amazing! I use these applications not only to learn more about the human body, but it also helps me in my profession as a fitness professional. 3D4Heart Pro. This App. Is the best on the market. I'm a medical student and it is one of the best learning tools I have come across that allows you so much in one app, truly I am impressed ! It is like having my own personal teacher with me. I am looking forward to some of their up and coming apps for this November!

WAY TO MUCH. If you are going to have almost nothing included on a initial download of a app. Then make it free with in app purchases. But charging $10 for a app that in order to be useful you have to pay another $10 for a random set of features (you can't even pick what ones you get first). I regret buying this app off the fact that I feel like I was just robbed. Do yourself a favor and seek alternative apps that are free till they decided to make this app not a rip off.

Useful Tool!. I appreciate how intuitive this application is. The ability to share with my study partners and have additional discussion is an added benefit.

Customer support. I've now got all the NOVA series apps and love them but that's not why I'm leaving a review - I wanted to respond to the review that couldn't get the app working. The app works fine and if it doesn't work Apple give refunds with absolutely no quibbles. The developers can't give refunds - once the app is on iTuns they are out of the loop. Now to the crux of my review, I have twice e-mailed this developer with first an issue and then with feedback, in both instances I received a reply in less than 24 hours. My suggestion to the frustrated reviewer - try again - you'll love the apps. One small suggestion I would love to see some more animations to illustrate some disease states. Thanks

Cardiology patient. I am not involved in the medical profession nor have any medical background but I love this app. I have however recently undergone Heart Valve surgery and my cardiologist used various diagrams to outline what had happened and what was going to happen etc. It was only recently that I happened upon this app and for the first time I have been able to properly contextualize where everything is and how it works. My cardiologist now has the app too.

Extremely handy. This is one of my favorite apps. I teach 3d ultrasound and find the breakaway views so helpful in comparing ultrasound images with recognized structures. This app impresses every I share it with and helps me with my work.

I love this app. I use this app to demonstrate the procedures to our patients. Everything is clearer to them, and their family members when things are explained AND drawn for them. Their learning is enhanced. I spend less time re-explaining. One of the jewels of doing this, and drawing the bypasses, is that I can text the drawings to any family member present. They then, can and often do, explain the procedure to others. It's a win win!

Need more videos. It pained me after paying $20 for the package, having to pay $10 for the related videos. I needed them so I bought them. My only concern is that there's a few more videos that should be on there. Please look into this. If it's a heart app. Look into as many diseases associated with the heart and post. I think for the money spent, more videos should be present.

Cool but weight the cost. This app was very cool but you may not use it a whole lot. I am a nursing student and in anatomy and physiology the heart tends to be one of the hardest units, so i thought this would help me out. It didn't. I barely used it. Really cool and well made but may not be what your looking for.

Blown away!. I'm a nursing student and I have their skeletal system and the muscle system on my iPad and I love them! This app is even better - its fantastic - I hope they also do the Skeleton and Muscle system like this. They also have great tech support. I had a question with my heart pro app and after contacting them I had a return email within 30 mins that was very helpful!!

To Show. I had the iPhone version and used to love pulling it out during a consultation to wow a patient now I do the same with the iPad version but to greater effect. It really does make an enormous difference partly because of the information it contains and it's accuracy but above all it is the beauty of the model. It is lifelike without being gruesome and the animations especially the ones where you can see the valves working, are awesome. Great company - great work.

Smart apps. Liked the old apps - love the new series. The graphics are breathtaking. I particularly liked the various animations showing the valves opening and closing. Will there be a full cardio system? Thanks for the feedback on the full cardio - can't wait.

Alright but expected better. Not really a fan of how laggy the heart rotates. It should be one fluid rotation when you move you finger. I also don't like how it doesn't come with all the animations, which you have to pay 9.99 to get 45 more videos. Quit being greedy 3d4. Other than that the very few animations you get are great and it's a very great visual of the heart. Very informative, just wish they weren't greedy on the animation videos. EDIT: Well I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 1 because I forked over the additional 9.99 for the animations and they still don't give you all of them!! They want ten more bucks for 8 more videos!! What a rip. Don't waste your time with this app. Better features from heart in essential anatomy.

Very educational. I just started med school and this app was recommended by my professor. The slices are my favourite feature. There is lots of content included for the price you pay. I'm saving to purchase the animation packs!

Installation & support. The app didn't install properly at first but an email to support got a quick reply and a fix. The views of the heart are quite amazing. Gives one a much better understanding of how the arteries are laid out. Can't wait to show this to my cardiologist on my next visit.

Pediatric Cardiac Nurse. I am a nurse currently taking continuing education for my new role as a pediatric cardiac nurse. I only qualified 4 years ago and I am amazed at the advances in such a short period. I have been using this Heart app and one or two other apps (although I haven't reviewed any of the others) and I am amazed at how useful it is - I use the pop-quiz function constantly. Perhaps one day disease states will be covered as well as this!

Heart Pro. the graphics are incredible, and medical detail is top notch. - this app has everything - 3D and and top quality animations and descriptions! A really useful app

One thing you should know.... As a med student, we all have wet lab (cadaver) and can hold the heart in hand. This app gives us the ability to visualize the pathologies in motion...nice! Despite being well designed and implemented, hearing the sounds of the pathologies or far more important than just visuals. Sound is only available in the normal heart. Just so you know. I wish I knew before I purchased the additional content (in-app purchase).

Very disappointed. I have purchased another app from 3D 4Medical that is great. I assumed this app would be as well. Don't buy it. It's okay, but not worth $9.99. -Your text books or other free apps will provide the same information. Once you get into this app, you will find the author wants even MORE MONEY to unlock other aspects to this app. -There are no heart sounds. -There is no systemic circulatory features with this app. It could be so much better. I think to make it worth the cost the locked features within this app should be included in the original price. Or they need to reduce the cost greatly!

Incredible App!!. Not only is this app absolutely incredible, but the customer service from this company is unrivaled! The app itself is beautifully laid out and the graphics are tremendous. I got this app along with 3 others by this company because my 3 year old son LOVES anything having to do with anatomy and how his body works.... but I have to admit that I spend more time with these apps than him, and I love them. The customer service here is something that I can say, is top notch. They are accessible and very friendly and willing to get right back to you as if they know you... You guys are the best!!

One of the best apps hands down!. I was not so sure about buying it but I am glad I did. It helps so much in visualizing all the conditions. I am a first semester medical student and this app is exactly what I needed to help with studying! Thank you. One suggestion is to have heart sounds and narration during the clips!

Excellent Value. I bought this app for my son who enjoys learning about the heart and aspires to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. The graphics are amazing but I have noticed some lag and freezing from time to time in rotating. I think the app would be even better if it incorporated audio like some of the others (or maybe I haven’t found it yet). Overall, I like it and I don’t regret the purchase.

disappointing. there is so much possibility with 3d rendering and anatomy. they didnt even bother to recapitulate simple echo views or 3d cross sections. just lazy. no updates since 2014, no development. just collecting the app purchase fee after a lacklustre initial programming job. i do like the colors, however.

Best App Out There!. I am a 32 year old heart patient with three open heart surgeries and a pacemaker under my belt. This app has truly helped me understand my congenital defect better than anything else. My cardio surgeon at the Mayo Clinic in MN loves it too! If you want to know anything and everything about the heart, this is the app to buy!! The 3D is amazing and there is so much info, they don't leave anything out. Plus the quizzes are great if you are a student. This app is worth every penny, and I would recommend it to anyone! Thanks so much! I am looking forward to the other versions!!!

Why I like it. OK, it isn't free, but I have found in like you generally get what you pay for. Sure it costs a few bucks, and to get the full features, you pay a little more, but the look on my patient's face when they FINALLY understand is utterly priceless.....

Great for static Display. Very detailed and great for static display of heart anatomy. Yes, this is a more convenient tool to use with patients/students in identifying details of the anatomy and it beats having to keep texts around to do the same. But lets face facts, the purpose of the iPad is to be more interactive than a book. With the exception of a view video movements, it does not do much more than mimic what I have had in clinic for years, and at half the cost. The video motion detail is nice but fails in anatomic detail. It is missing key components to the flow of blood through the heart and shows nothing more than a normal beating as blood passes through it or the electrical conduction through the bundles. It would be nice if future versions had abnormalities of stenosis, regurgitation, or prolapse so that I do not have to over describe what is happening. It will "Wow" the average person but needs more animation to be completely useful.

My show off app. I'm a first year pre-med and just got the iPad for Xmas. I have been feverishly downloading free apps - you're my 3rd paid app - so far I love them but your app stands out as I can see this being extremely useful. It's also the app I show people when I am showing off my new iPad!

I can't win for losing on IPad apps. There is no sound on the animation.

Waste of Money, few features. There are lots of fancy transitions between views, but so much missing. Cross-section view is limited and very poor. No echo views. Lots of expensive add-ons. This is crap and should be offered at no charge. Their essential anatomy app is much better. Too bad it doesn't include more extensive heart anatomy.

Amazing. As a medical student, this app has really made learning the heart much, much easier. The quiz is extremely helpful with anatomy and the videos (although $10 extra) make visualization much simpler. I recommend this to any medical student out there.

Great app, great update, greedy price. Every app 3D4 makes is gold. I love the Pro series, and Heart Pro is my favorite; this is the app that made me get an iPad. That being said, I cringed when I paid for it the first time, and I'm cringing now that I have to pay $20 more for the updated animations. This is an expensive app to begin with, and I made that purchase with the hope that it would contribute to improvements. I'm really glad to hear the synchronized heart tones, and a little bit of ECG correlation (more of that please!). Unfortunately, I can't speak on the new animations because I can't justify paying more than the app itself for what I can find for free on the internet. Your apps are invaluable, 3D4, just... not $20 valuable, because I, like many of your customers, am a poor med student. You'll get my 5 and maybe more money when the update is dropped to a reasonable price!

Amazing.... But. The only thing I wish this app could do is work on my iMac without me paying more to have the same app just on a different device

Very good app, needs updates. I'm not a doctor, just a guy that likes to learn stuff. This app has good graphics but far from amazing. The app isn't built for retina display either. When you zoom in, you can actually see the pixels and the color separations. It needs real time 3D graphics just like their other amazing medical apps. The other thing is the learning curve of the app. It's not very intuitive... There's those pins and that's it. Be aware that you have to buy most of the educational videos that are in the app. All in all, it's a very promising app but it needs serious real time interactive 3d content and better learning experience. The same developer has an amazing app called Essential Anatomy, with real 3D, realtime beautiful models of the human body in it's full glory, and a much more intuitive navigation. I'm told by the developer that they are updating it to retina display and real time 3D graphics. This is going to be a REALLY cool app when this update is launched.

Love the app and the perspective it provides!. I have used this app for a little over a week. I'm running this on the 1st gen iPad, and so far it seems pretty smooth. I have had some issues with the Application not responding after playing a few videos, but I'm at least able to play the videos I need 80% of the time. I love the perspective it provides of the inner workings of the heart, and my classmates were just as impressed as I was. Seeing the conduction of the heart is amazing, and the movies that come with it are invaluable. It's like having a functioning heart at your disposal for instant analysis! The one thing that I would love to see is this; I think it would be great to be able to view a side by side movie of the hearts conduction system (firing live), with the corresponding ECG. I'm in Paramedic school, and having this ability to view the conduction system within a beating heart along with the corresponding ECG would be great! Thumbs way up!

Fantastic teaching tool. I've been VERY impressed with this app so far! Tremendous improvements in the graphics and it's very quick and easy to navigate through for patient education, especially when pressed for time in the office OR making rounds. It can certainly add to a patient's understanding of certain cardiac conditions or procedures (and understanding leads to less misinformation and it's consequences). I would highly recommend splurging the $20 fee for the multiple video animations it offers. I would venture to say they may have more in the works based on their fast response to my email comments. These videos are very well done and the library is fairly extensive for a first showing. If you have an issue with the cost, have the office pick up the tab or you can rely on the pharmaceutical freebees which can be rather primitive. Even the cost of the plastic models dwarfs the relatively inexpensive price tag on this more updated technology. Kudos to 3D4Medical for putting quality into patient (and student) education!

Overpriced Rip Off with low resolution content. So you pay $25 for the program ad then they want to sting you another $15 for the video content......nearly gave me a heart attack (pardon the pun) PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM 3D4MEDICAL Cheaper better options available

Great for students. This is an excellent app for medical students. Lots of detail, and the quizzes are extremely useful for memorisation. Hopefully this gets an update similar to the muscle system and skeleton system apps.

Taking your money &Run. Really not professional or honest, I purchased the app then the videos inside the app, then later they stop supporting it & create new one asking you to pay again. This is fraud, where’s Apple store from this behavior?

Great app but animations shouldn't be an in-app purchase. Just like its related apps, Heart Pro 3 is an excellent and accurate resource. It would be a better value if the animations were included in the price as they are in several of the other 3D4 apps. Resources on heart sounds and conditions, as well as resources on ECGs and Echocardiograms, etc. would really enhance this great app and make it a must have for students.

Your app. I like this app. I have bought a few of this companies apps before The graphics and medical accuracy are great. It will be a really useful app to use with patients. The video of the heart pumping is very lifelike. The coronal and sagittal sections cuts are very useful and impressive, it would be even better if there were more cuts available.

Serious app. Love these apps and this one has animations as well. Being able to spin and cut open a 3D organ like this is tremendous.

Very basic.. The pictures are wonderful, however there are very few pins to drop In the heart. The only things that are labeled are the arteries. The rest of the heart structures are blank but, you can create your own pins with some limitations.

Wasted my 10$. This was not helpful at all bcus u have to buy the videos and it's not like the real body works apps that tell u all about the heart this jus show pictures....

Absolute trash. Every single app I have purchased from 3D4Medical has been garbage and this one is no exception. I can't get a single thing to load and I am constantly getting error messages saying that the app is no longer compatible with my iOS version. What am I supposed to do, revert my iPad back to iOS 7 so that I can use these apps? I have tried deleting and re downloading but that doesn't help either. Total waste of money, I would not recommend anything from this developer and I will be leaving a similar review on every single app that I have purchased from them.

Believe it. This is an awesome app that just keeps getting better.

Heart pro. I'm a nursing student and I have all of their apps on my iPad and I love them! The graphics are unparalleled!! They are great study tools for my lab practicals!!! They also have great tech support. I had a question with my muscle app and after contacting them I had a return email within one hour that was very helpful and nice!! Poo ui. This app did all the hard work, then made a mess of the ui. Spinning and rotating hangs up for seconds at a time. Pins disappear when rotating, must do two step selection to turn back on. Instructions are opaque, worthless. Buy something different.

Video crashes app. Cool app. Very detailed. But any attempt to play one of the videos crashes the app.

Crashes after only a few seconds. This ap is worthless. While the preview promises exquisite, beautiful images, the developer failed to test it. I can't get the ap to stay open for more than a few seconds on my iPad before it crashes. I'll definitely be wanting a refund.

Setting New Standards!. This is really an amazing app that raises the bar on anatomy applications for all app developers for the Ipad. Since 3D4 Medical first came out with the Muscle, Skeletal, Digestive, and Nervous System apps for the Iphone, they were some of the most useful tools for learning and studying all the different systems for anatomy class, and helped a lot in study groups because it provided more information than the comic strip style pictures provided in the text books. When I saw the Heart Pro app available for the first time I was assuming it was an interface just like the apps 3D4 Medical had already released for the Iphone and Ipad, but that was the not case at all. The Heart Pro app is completely redesigned with the consumer demands in mind, with new features and updated ones as well that makes this app completely amazing. The main feature I like about this was the fact that you can rotate a Full 360 Degrees around the object and stop at an angle that you would like so that you always have the best view at what section you are trying to view. Features that make this app so useful are the pins that you can manually control now, since you can view tissue, veins, arteries, and nerves, pins can get clustered if you are viewing all at once, but now you can choose what systems you want to show pins for and locate, but also, a new features added to the app is called Transparency, where you can change transparency of the different structures because some are hidden inside others, so not one item will go unnoticed this way, and helps you understand the location of structures in an actual 3-Dimensional perspective saving you the guess work of where they are and where they lead to. My Favorite feature about this new app is the new option in the Index, originally you could view only pins for structures, but now there is an Index for Movie clips. In study group, some of the hardest things to explain to others is how a process takes place step by step from one time frame to the next and have your study peers understand it as much as you do. Example of a movie is "Blood Flow in Beating Heart" regular speed or slowed down, that shows the flow of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood and how it flows from the heart, veins, arteries, etc, with all structures moving how they would in real life, like the tricuspid and bicuspid valves, the movies feature saves the stress of trying to imagine how these different process actually take place. There is so much more to this app that makes it well worth the $17.99. Buying note cards, pictures, posters, models etc would add up to be so much more and would be such a big load to carry with you around campus or take up space at home. This is an all in one deal that is hard to say no to, trying out one app by 3D4 Medical becomes an addiction where you want all the apps they have available because you will discover how useful there products really are. For other useful information about anatomy or physiology, check out there website, they have some really neat flash videos and pictures of other structures and processes that keep you on top of the study game and help to create a better understanding for you. 3D4 Medical is an amazing company with some awesome products and I am excited for the things they have to come here in the near future. AMAZING. This application is the only application worthy of 6 stars, not 5. Very professional. Very useful. The graphics and animations are truly amazing (as the title of my review mentions). This app will help educate patients and health care workers alike. I wish I had this for the first 25 years of my career! Keep up the great work. Heart pro ( nova ). Good program. Pin incorrect on LIPV, marked is inferior branch of the left superior pulmonary vein, would be better to see CS from posterior view. I made a good choice with this program

Rip off.. Steals from 3 times and still can't get what you paid for. Don't waste your money. It'll keep having locked items the more you pay. The god reviews are from the developers obviously.

Retina. Is there a new version in the works that uses the iPad retina display? Would also love to be able to pinch to zoom in more detail!!

Incredibly accurate. Everyone I show this app to is blown away. It has the potential to replace many different medium for cardiac training. There are a couple of tags that need correction, and I would agree their customer service has been great. It's great to project this app thru HDMI on iPad2! Best app yet for me as an instructor.

Very Impressed. I enjoyed this app when I first purchased it to help learn the heart for my Echocardiography studies. With the new update I am beyond impressed. I consider this one of the best apps I have ever used. The execution of accurate 3D graphics along with useful information and a simple interface really shows what a good team can do with this technology. Though some may consider the in-app purchase price of $19.99 for the disease states animations to be a little pricey, I am more than happy to pay the extra money for added content of this quality. I think any cardiovascular student or professional would enjoy this app.
