Update. Greatly helps me with studying Gross Anatomy in my first year of med school. Hoping for its next update soon!

Best Medical App for iPad. The quality and depth of the anatomy is outstanding. The search tool is great and the ability to remove layers is my favorite part (no navigating pages required). My only complaints are with the UI. I like the layers UI better in the online flash version. Its just more intuitive and easier to navigate plus you get the preview. I also wish I could pinch to zoom in and out. All around a great app for anatomy reference. Hopefully we can see a version that bundles the other versions at a discounted price.

New series.. Just finished reviewing the skeletal system which I felt couldn't be topped, I was wrong. This app was addictive I have zoomed into every sports injury I have ever had. What I like most about the new series, apart from the graphics and 3D element which I have already covered in previous reviews, is the quiz function. I really got into it. As apps go these are the major leaguers. Love the fact that you keep upgrading and improving.

Great App. This is a wonderful app for the price. I am a physical therapist and am using it for patient education. You can rotate, zoom in, and choose different layers of muscles. Plus you can draw on the picture and then email directly from the program. Pretty neat. For the most part accurate and detailed enough for what I am using it for.

Wonderful for Medical Professionals. The recent changes continue to improve this group of apps. I am a Physical Therapist and the recent addition of different animations of surgeries and changes to the transverse, sagital and coronal views are helpful. Would love to see the ability to do 3 D modeling and make the "cuts" where I want them instead of limited to the software. I have used many different models to explain anatomy, surgeries and rational for exercise programs but patients are amazed and their level of understanding increases with these apps. The addition of animations for surgeries and common pathologies are great. I look forward to more. I frequently get "thank you" from our patients for taking the time to explain. 3D4, keep the changes coming.

Brilliant!!!. Absolutely amazing app for studying anatomy! This app has so many features that make it stand out, from pin customizing to the 3D views, but one of my favorite features is the layering function. This allows the user to make layers fade from view, all the way down to the skeleton. Once the last layer has been removed, with a simple tap the exact areas that each muscle connects to the bone are highlighted. This is one amazing app! I have the pleasure of owning the skeleton app from 3D4Medical also, and it is equally wonderful! I highly recommend this series for anyone that is studying anatomy or with the need to reference the human body with stunning clarity.

Good, but.... As with all of 3D4's apps, this one is good. The engine works well, and it is very easy to navigate the body. There are a couple of reasons I can't give this app, or the others, 5 stars. 1. Graphics - I have been underwhelmed by the resolution of the models. They may look good on an older version, but I'm not impressed with the appearance on the Retina display of the iPad 3. 2. Posture - This is extremely picky: In every full-body app, the head carriage of the model is significantly anterior. A reference like this should have all models in a neutral anatomical position. 3. Pins - I get that it's easy to use an API to put pins everywhere, but pins are terrible for studying anatomical drawings. Lines (a la Netter's printed atlas) obscure far less adjacent anatomy. If you're studying a small area, it's quite possible to have enough pins marking landmarks that you can't see the anatomy any more without hiding them entirely. 4. Detail - This app might be appropriate for undergraduate students of anatomy. It is great for patient education. However, it does not contain nearly the level of detail required to be a useful resource for a doctoral student. More landmarks need to be identified (in this app, and particularly in Skeletal System Pro) so that students don't have to waste time making hundreds of custom pins.

Missing muscles... :-(. I bought this app, thinking it would be a great help for my human anatomy course in medical school. However, while going through the course, I realized that the muscles of the mouth, pharynx, etc. we're missing. Also, one other issue is that you can't search for a muscle from a different angle. If you search for the particular muscle, the camera rotates the body back to angle that the program always assumes to view muscles. You can't, for example, pick an angle of your choosing, then have the program find the muscle from that perspective. In the end... The program is not deep enough to satisfy a medical school student or a healthcare professional. However, it might be a good teaching tool for high school students , or be a good preview for college students who want a taste of anatomy.

This app is awesome. If your taking anatomy and physiology, this app is very helpful. It's worth every penny. I love the fact that you can quiz yourself on only the muscles you need and you don't have to use every one(you can customize the quizzes and everything you view). I'm very happy with this purchase. I'm a college student and will use it for A&P 1 & 2

Question people's integrity. Don't you ever wonder why someone rates an app way off from the majority of other reviews. With an app as quality as this one ( and the rest of their family of apps) why are there some one star reviews? Unfortunately it really diminishes the power of the whole system of customer ratings. Anyway, this app is by far above the quality and standards of any other anatomy based app. It works flawlessly, the information is very accurate, design is great, interface is easy to use ( especially for the function, it could have been much more difficult), and the developers have consistently made improvements and add information since they first published this app. I would recommend this for anyone that is interested in the human muscle system. It is accessible to the young student all the way through advanced students. Great for learning muscles, actions, insertion and attachment points , and it is also great for reviewing what you already know.

Amazing Study Tool!. This is the most amazing resource for anyone who is studying the muscle structures of the body. I am a visual learner, and this app has proven to be indispensable. Being able to cut away the individual layers of each muscle group is so helpful. I highly recommend this app for any student of muscular anatomy.

Very useful. If you have any interest in this app just buy it. The team that worked on this did a wonderful job. The details and info are great and the videos of various actions of muscles help a lot. Being able to look up a specific muscle and have it be displayed is awesome. As a student this helps greatly...way better than carrying huge books around and flipping through pages. I look forward to purchasing most if not all the rest of the apps by 3D4medical.

Fantastic. This is an amazing app, worth every penny!!!

great for PT. I use this app consistently to show patients their musculature and where their current problem is. Great demonstration app.

Good, But Lacking Depth. This app has promise, but is much more static than I had hoped. The "scalpel" tool does not allow the addition or removal of specific structures, but rather is a "layer" tool, that adds and removes sets of pre-defined structures. While some rotation and panning is possible, these are again pretty static. One can not pan continuously through the whole body, but only within each pre-defined region, making some views impossible (at the boundaries of the pre-definied regions). The rotation is also quite limited: rather than free, 3D rotation, rotations are restricted to one or two axes depending on the region. Full-body panning, full 3D rotation, and a scalpel tool (or checkboxes on the muscle list) that allows addition or removal of arbitrary structures would make this worth the high-price. A good start, please bring this to maturity!

Medical students. I'm a first year medical student and I got this app to study for anatomy. It's a fantastic concept for an app, but it was exactly what I fear-- not enough flags. The picture contains about 5-15% of what we have to learn. I wish there was a way we can add more flags on our owns but we can't do that. In addition I wish they combine all the systems into one. My medical school we learn by regions, not system. I took a chance and got the app but I wouldn't recommend this to other medical students unless they make the above improvements.

Great app for learning muscles, quiz feature suggestions. This is a really nice app, and it’s helped my learning in a very efficient way. The quiz feature is decent, but a few changes would make it great and/or fantastic: We need the ability to rotate the models during the quiz - there are times when it’s too difficult to understand the muscle typography with the one view you are given during the quiz. We need a “pause after incorrect answers option for quizzes - During the quiz, if you pick the wrong answers (in both multichoice and label mode), you only have a split second to see your mistake and the correction. We need the pause so we can study the error / corrected answers. Also, FYI - your App support page doesn’t load, otherwise, I’d put my suggestions there.

Great app. This is an amazing app and very powerful teaching aid for instructors of any healthcare students, or to use during patient education. It would be really nice if you could save images and/or drag and drop them directly into presentations or documents that you're creating on your iPad (other 3D anatomy apps let you do this) instead of having to email them to yourself, that's a bit of a pain. It would also be great to be able to save/export animated gifs to put into Keynote or PowerPoint presentations. That would be a huge plus over other comparable apps. Overall, great app!

Fantastic app. This app exceeds the expectations. Works great, is got an easy, and user friendly interface. The data contained is accurate, extremely well thought out, and one can add more notes or info if needed.

What happened?. I’ve had this app for years and love it. I can’t open it anymore. I hit the icon and it blinks on for a second ,then off.

The best reference for muscle. Personally, this is my first time to comment a review for any app. But, I cannot help myself for writing on this so that others will also get benefit from this app. Simply, I feel blessed and touched with this update. Especially, I love the media part showing the action of the major muscles and how to pronounce the confusing name of the muscles. This is great!

excellent anatomy reference. The 360° view, artistry, and superior and inferior views are all brilliant. This app is one of the few I've found that really takes advantage of the potential the iPad brings to learning. And though I really like being able to remove layers, one thing I would love to see added is a "isolate/hide" type button, that would allow me to either see a muscle on it's own as it attaches to the skeletal system, or remove muscles one by one. Also, slowing down the 360° spin would kind of be nice.

Great, minus crashes/failed searches. This is a beautiful and useful app. I am studying for a personal training certification as well as fine artist and illustrator. I purchased this app to refresh/expand my knowledge of muscles. The app is responsive and fast enough even on my 1st Gen iPad. I would give it 5 stars if it didn't crash every time I tried using the 'my pin' function to create custom lists of muscle I need to study most under the 'settings' menu. The resent update for iOS 5 doesn't crash but instead searches in 'my pins' doesn't function at all, leaving a blank field. Searches in 'index' are unaffected. Hopefully this will be addressed soon. It was a key selling point for me.

Awesome. All these apps from 3d4med are just awesome. I rave about them and use them to explain stuff to fellow students all the time. Phenomenal study tool!!!!

Great App, but lacks functionality. As a student currently in anatomy, the level of depth that this app goes into when describing each muscle is nice, as well as being able to rotate the body. The biggest draw back however, is not being able to tap the muscle you're looking at and get information on what the muscle is. I was able to get that from an app that was free vs one that I paid 5$ for.

Most helpful app. I have paid for other apps like this but have never felt the confidence after using them like I do after using this app. My clients find it fascinating when I show them certain muscles with the media and just seeing the 3D portion on the body. I've taken and assisted others on the MBLEX and everyone has attributed this app as being the best at knowing everything needed on each muscle. I find it helpful every time in use it even if it's a muscle I always seem to work on!

Good muscle app but still room for improvement. This app is overall a high quality product. However there could be many improvements for it to be worth the money. The information is abundant and accurate. Navigating between areas of the body is not the easiest task. When in the Navigation menu you can collapse an area of the body to focus on the none collapsed areas (which would be the area(s) that you are studying) it doesn't stay collapsed however. So when you have to return to the Navigation menu you have to filter through all the areas of the body again. The quizzes that are provided are helpful and the multiple choice and matching options are nice. However at the end of a matching period the right answers are displayed and then the program moves to another group of questions. There should be a pause or an advance button before this occurs so it gives the user a chance to learn from her/his mistakes. There are many other little complains that could easily be fixed with a new version.

total garbage. I just wasted 10 dollars on this useless app. When I try to quiz myself, I always get a message WARNING quiz is unavailable in portrait orientation.

What a gem!. Informative, accurate and easy to use. Worth every penny and deserves all the 5 star reviews. A heads up to one of the reviewers, I had the same problem as you. But I found once I switched to landscape mode, I could complete the quiz.

It could provide more value if..... I like the app, but was disappointed in the lack of instructions on its usage. Looking for a new app with more detail.

Playing doctor. Running has given me several painful injuries to my legs and currently my left foot. My podiatrist could not provide me the exacting detail and layering of muscles that this app does. I have been diagnosing and treating my injury with massage to the precise location of damaged muscles. The layering is fantastic. I really like hearing the correct pronunciation of muscles. The app is really quite perfect and much cheaper than my doctor.

Amazing and helpful. I thought this app and the skeletal app where the best apps available for the iphone and iPad. I was constantly studying and bring my anatomy book with me everywhere so I could study every chance I had. Luckily I found this app and the others soon enough before was too far into the class and it made it so much more convenient too only have to carry around my iPhone, and now my iPad. But it made studying with others outside of class more interesting as well. The only problem I had was the cutting tool use to be in the main area so it was tough to cut the next layer without hitting a flag, the problem is now fixed and can not find any other problems with the app. Highly recommend for students taking anatomy class, you will find this app and all the others by 3d4medical very helpful to you when your looking for a convenient way to study. Side note... Check out the 3d4medical website, if the are step by step process of anatomy or physiology that your book can only show in comic strip form, the website has very helpful animations that help you better understand how certain process take place. It will be great when professors have the ability to use the awesome resources in their class lectures. Thanks again for creating such an amazing product 3d4medical.

Absolutely wonderful!. This is my first five star rating for any app that I ever purchased. It's well worth the money! You will not be sorry if you purchased this. Thumbs way up on this wonderful app.

Fantastic with one suggestion. Loving this app for learning the muscle, origin, insertions, and actions for functional anatomy class. I especially love that I can create our own pins in preparation for practicals in my course. My only suggestion is also a question, it would be awesome if I could quiz on the pins that I create and even quizzes on the different categories I create. This may already be a feature, but I have not been able to figure it out yet.

Worth the money.. This app is well worth the money you spend on it. If your taking A&P I&II this will be very helpful and a great way to memorize locations of specific muscles you need to know for class. There is a built in quiz that tests your knowledge and is great to get you prepared for a big test. I would like it if you could type in the answers as a way to help memorize the correct spelling so I hope you developers read this and take my advice. I would like to purchase the bundle now as a tool for future reference. Good work and compliments to the developing team.

Love it. This app is amazing! I'm a trainer and it is so useful in memorizing muscle, points of origination and insertion. I really like that you can layer muscles and use a virtual pen!

Invaluable asset for anatomy. Have been using this as a secondary resource while pursuing PTA education. Very useful for quick reference (instead of flipping through books to the right chapter/page), and the supplemental media add-ons are helpful to view muscle actions and quickly refresh on origins/insertions. Have recommended to anyone that asks me what I’m using. Well done.

This update is fantastic. You guys rock! This update is exactly what the doctor ordered! I'm a physical therapist assistant student and now with this app update I hope to get an "A" in my anatomy class, I really like the origins & insertions, media added,as well as the improved visual quality, pronunciation, and pen in different colors. You guys really made this update with students in mind, can't wait to show it to my classmates and Professor! I also purchased the skeletal system and it is now equally as amazing! Thank you! You should be proud of yourselves and you all deserve a raise! Sincerely, Paul D.

Where is the update?. Media option was my favorite and most useful option and is not available anymore. I paid good money for this application and I’m disappointed. Please update!!!

Very useful. As a retired physical therapist my venue has changed and I continue to be involved in helping others understand their problems. This tool is quite easy to use and is an excellent visual of muscles, without the distraction of other structures, such as, nerves and vessels. I highly recommend this muscle app as an educational tool for better understanding of where muscles are located and what they do.

Great app. I am a student and this app has been a godsend. It's so much easier studying muscle groups with an interactive 3D model than flipping through pages and pages of textbooks. If you're a visual learner such as myself I highly recommend this app. I had a couple of questions and received a prompt reply from the developer as well.

Highly recommended……….. As a medical librarian I bought this app last year and loved it, but this new upgrade is astounding. These apps have been incredibly useful at accelerating learning. It shouldn't be underestimated the part that teaching / learning aids like this will have in revolutionizing how anatomy will be taught in the future as well as making it highly accessible to a wider audience. In the last month this app has become a huge hit here. As a reference guide it is medically bang on and as a learning tool it cannot be surpassed. Keep it up….Dr. Stephen

Please update app. Very slow

Outstanding. An invaluable tool for patients and practitioners alike. I use it daily to explain what is going on with the body. It has actually made me a better physical therapist! There are a few limitations, like you can't always zero in on exactly the spot you are interested in, but it still is helpful to give a visual picture of what is going on I. The body.

Great App...wish it had ligaments though!. As a physical therapy student I find this app very helpful when I need to review muscle anatomy. I only wish that it also depicted the ligaments and nerves as part of the layers that you can add and remove...I would have given it 5 stars if those features were included. Other than that it is great! I really like how there is an animation that shows you each of the muscle actions...it really puts muscle actions into better perspective.

Geek out on anatomy!. I don't buy many apps, but this one is worth every penny. I have all four but the muscle systems is my fav. I'm a Clinical Hanna Somatic Educator, personal trainer and health coach. I use this app with clients and it helps them understand what we are talking about. Some of them love it so much they purchased it too. Awesome! Thanks for creating and sharing it!

Great App. I just downloaded this app and its phenomenal. Everything you could ask for is in this app. However, although loading time between gestures isn't long, it does get a little annoying having to wait in between certain gestures. But other than that, this app is everything you could ask for, and now I'm even considering also buying the skeletal system app as well. I recommend this app to anyone who is really even just slightly interested in the human body.

Please update. Does not work properly

My patients are amazed !. As a Physical Therapist, I have always helped my patients understand their diagnosis with the use of visual aids (models, posters, anatomy text books, etc.). The Muscle Pro app has taken my expertise to a new level. It is so quick & easy to use, and many patients have commented that they appreciate me being "up to date" with technology. No more fumbling through text books. Many thanks for a great product & well worth the investment !

Fabulous!. I use this, Skeleton System Pro 3 & Essential Anatomy 5 all the time. Each is useful and the company is doing a pretty good job of fixing their labeling mistakes (which are few). The animations and I/O maps on Muscle System 3 are very useful.

Really great App...but. Have, sadly, had to update my original review, after using this app for the past 3 years. Whilst, in all honesty, this app has much to offer, it does not appear that the authors are at all interested in continuing to improve this app; refining it to a higher and more useful level. There are many muscles that are unnamed, or are named when looking at them in a particular view - the Tricep is one example. What the authors appear to have done is develop a "Premium" version of their app, and are charging for, what I assume, is an upgraded version of this app. I have just purchased a new iPad, as I need to update important apps used in my clinic. I want to consolidate my several anatomical apps into one "complete" app. I cannot recommend, and am reluctant to purchase the 3D4Medical version, as I have no assurance it will ever be updated, but that the authors will, yet again, bring out a bigger and better version of that - and charge me again for the upgrade. Great way to increase sales, but not so good for the user. Just my take on things.

Amazing app to learn on the skeleton with.. Learn names of bones & their landmarks, and go into descriptions of each. Add your own notes and draw on the skeleton; which I do to show clients various muscle attachments, and include your own pins with relevant notes. Rotate with a swipe or swipe up or down for either inferior or superior view. At this price it can't be beat

Great study companion. Bought this app for a reference while studying anatomy and it's clear that a large amount of detail and work has gone into making the app. Great to see they actually have animations of the muscles in the area and the skeletal attachment feature is amazing. Overall really happy with my purchase.

Incredible. What an amazing app. As a muscular skeletal therapist this app makes it so simple to give clients a much greater insight and understanding of their soft tissue injuries.

Problem updating. Why can I not download this update? BEST app. Definitely worth the money!!!

Best. I am studying anatomy unit this semester and this app has been my best source of learning. Such a great tool for students. Very visible , and accurate. Version 2 rocks. Would be great if you could decrease the loading time for each sections.

Excellent. Pricey but $ well spent. Beats a text book hands down. fantastic crisp graphics and all the info you could want. I love the addition of media actions. Wonderful for showing clients their problem muscles and what they do. My only gripe is that the sound ( for pronounciation ) will not work on my ipad 2. Im completely up to date on software. I tried the 'help' section but it crashed! If you fix these bugs the 5 star glowing review will be yours!!

Great learning tool. Great app! At times viewing origin and insertion points can be a bit difficult. Easy to use and way more interactive than a book. Just need to save up for skeletal system as $82 is a bit pricy for a Uni student :) Looking forward for the updates and new features.

Great but no Latin. Great app. Could be greatly improved by having the complete 3d rotation like in their Essential Anatomy app. Also, I study medicine in Germany, and I was expecting this to have the latin names (which we use here) like in their other apps, but unfortunately it doesn't :(

Excellent value for money. Comprehensive and easy to use. Invaluable as a health professional to show patients.

Pretty amazing really. I'm not a medical person but I am an elite sportswoman and need to do regular stretching. It's great for me to know what muscles I need to pay particular attention to and if there is an obscure one, the physio can actually show me. Graphics are fantastic and I love how you can rotate and focus in on particular areas and get full info on all muscles and their functions. Just another great example of something you can do on an iPod that you wouldn't otherwise do with a computer.

Amazing program. I am a Personal Trainer; I use this app all the time for my own education and also explaining to clients what is happening in their bodies. The abbility to see the body in multiple 3D views makes it extremely easy to understand. The App is easy to use and fairly intuitive. I went from using teh iPhone version to the iPad; if you have an iPad go for this version! A huge amount of detail has been included in this program!

Absolutely brilliant. This app is a MUST have for any student studying musculoskeletal anatomy. It is extremely detailed, giving the origin, insertion and nerve supply for each muscle. I am blinded by sheer awesomeness...

Iker Zabarte. I found this application really healthful with my rehab clients where I can show them what muscle/groups I'm trying to stretch/strengthen. The app has increased my anatomy knowledge and I can communicate better with the physiotherapist I work in conjunction. The application is dynamic, intuitive, easy to learn and fantastic. Thanks for your amazing job guys Iker Zabarte Personal Trainer

Great resource. This is a fantastic resource for the clinic. We've started using both muscle and bone apps as an educational tool for our patients, they seem to really appreciate being able to view complex muscular arrangements in 3D as opposed to out of a textbook. The "coolness" factor definitely helps with younger patients too...

Muscle Pro 111. I was happy for the first 3 weeks of use. Now the PINS will not work. What is going on ??? Do you have a problem?? Is anyone else having this issue ?

very detailed. Bought as a study aid, its so comprehensive. I really like it but sometimes have difficulty following the muscle due to all the others and fascia blending together and the zoom. Maybe a function to highlight the muscle you are veiwing so it stands out from the others would help. Oooh and if you could animate the model to show the muscle causing or opposing its actions the app would be amazing!! Keep up the great work and remember to keep your prices reasonable for us poor anatomy students, I really want the skeletal system too.

Great app, but integrate more systems!. A really great app visually and easy to use. Very comprehensive but for muscles only. Could use some slice views in each of the peripheral limbs, and would be much more useful if some more systems were incorporated into this app, instead of buying an entirely new app for each joint with all of the systems involved. Can you combine all of those apps into one please? It's frustrating to think that I can't even see labels for bones and ligaments, or peripheral nerves and vessels. Otherwise, as a future physiotherapist, I think it's very cool and informative for patients.

Amazing!. Best app out there for muscles! Could however be improved to show/use pins when zoomed in on a certain area. Really frustrating when looking in detail and then need to zoom out to find out structure. Otherwise perfect!

Amazing!. Absolutely awesome as both a reference tool for getting really accurate, well presented anatomical information as well as the ultimate patient education tool. As a Myotherapist I'm constantly trying to give patients an inside view of what their muscle are doing & by having layer that remove and animations which show the muscles working together to move limbs - its 100x easier than a skeleton and books & posters of 2D images of muscles. Wish they also had ligaments in here rather than in the separate skeletal system app and that you could instantly access the regions movement animations rather than having to isolate a muscle first but otherwise it's perfect!

Ok, however.... It is decent, however it is just not worth it at the moment. The 3D animation is jittery, made up of many images rather than a true 3D model and so only rotates on the Y axis. Worse still, once you find the perfect angle to view a structure, clicking "label" to identity structures takes you back to one of only a few pre-programmed views, making it a bit pointless for learning. In all, a cool concept but really wont teach you anything, rather than maybe show you a few views that you may not have seen in books before.

Why change what was great. I really enjoyed this app. However the quizzes are less intuitive and the new sectional zoom doesn't allow you to pan superiorly or inferiorly as you wish, only in predetermined sections. I'm not sure why this was changed, I simply cannot see the benefit. Before this update, quite competently this app could achieve 5 out of 5..

Amazingly good!. This is fantastic. Love the ability to rotate and get different angle views. I don't think it has transverse slices, eg. of the limbs, which would be very useful for needle localisation of muscles. If it had this, I would be giving it 5 stars!

Great but.... Hi, great app but there are a few things that are quite annoying. The quiz mode has no rotation function and always displays the muscles in the most obscure way. Also, it would be nice to be able to see pins in the full "pelvis and leg" view since that way you could see the origin AND the insertion of the muscle. The current way cuts it off and then you have to load the next screen to see the rest of the muscle. It would also be nice to be able to pinch focus on areas and pinch zoom out to larger views of the system instead of just pixel zooming. These are my only concerns and while I do enjoy the software now, I do hope they get addressed in future updates.

Awesome Muscle Anatomy App. Amazing app, muscles are now so much easier to learn and remember after seeing them in 3D. I am a visual learner so this app is a treat. Easy to use and great graphics.

Fantastic. As a personal trainer I decided to purchase this application. My goal was to be able to give my clients a visual explanation when referring to certain muscles and their position throughout the body. This app is everything I hoped it would be. Worth every dollar spent!

Nothing compares. What an amazing application, well worth it's price tag. The scope of muscles it covers and its depth of information is incredible. Im quite surprised how the developers have put such a gargantuan amount of information into this app while still keeping it easy to use.

Great app. As a Personal trainer and Group fitness instructor I use this app all the time. It is fantastic for reviewing muscles and showing my clients just which muscles they are working when they are doing a particular exercise. I have had this app for well over a year and would recommend it to anyone in the fitness industry. This is the first time I have EVER recommended an app. The only problem I have with it is the speed that it loads but I am assuming that will improve when I update my Ipad

Great app!. This is a fantastic app! It is a great learning tool as well as a reference tool of the muscle system of the body! It has significantly improved my anatomy and the new NOVA series technology and its application as a reference tool is ahead of its time. While i admit it is a little pricey for one system i understand the cost of production must be passed onto the customer in some way and the developers need to earn a living. But as a gesture of their thanks they do offer computer versions of these apps if you purchase and write a review so i think they deserve our support and if we continue to support them they will continue to update and deliver. Well done 3D4Medical!

A great app just became awesome!. I'm a student in kinesiology and I got this app when it was version II and it was very useful in that it gives insertions and origins and actions of the muscles and sorts the views by layers. You can even add your own pins which is a great feature, BUT what takes the cake is the major improvements in version III. Articulation and muscle action animations for almost all of the muscles. An awesome addition to the functionality and power of this app.

My best. Very usefull, easy to understand, a lot of information.

Very slick!. Really great app. Beautiful images. Good interactivity. Would sure like to see an animation for the movement of the diaphragm! Why is the tongue not a muscle?

Beautiful visualizations. This is one of very few apps I'm willing to actually pay for - and that's about five or six. The visualizations are beautiful, and are a great demonstration of what the iPad was made for. I ruptured my achilles tendon at the beginning of February, and reading the MRI report, talking to my surgeon and physiotherapist is all good - to know what is ruptured and strained, but actually being able to *see* and *understand* how it all works together is great. One of the other few apps I bought is another one from 3D4Medical called iMuscle, which is a workout tool that shows you individual muscles, each of which has a series of exercises associated to it for development and rehab purposes. It will be a big help I think in my rehab work once I'm able to put weight back on my ankle and start rebuilding the atrophied muscles in my lower leg. Great apps if you want to get to know your own body more in depth!

Excellent App!. I am also a Kinesiology student in my 3rd year and this app has been a tremendous aid in my anatomy courses. With this new update the developers only made it better. I have not had any crashes since I purchased this, and I am running it on the original iPad. A great edition to this app would be the ability to show only the muscles selected, possibly by making the non selected muscles go transparent or shade out and the selected muscles remain in colour. This would really help when studying individual muscles and the origins and insertions. Otherwise, thank you for an amazing app.

Review by a PT. Great visuals. For clinic use,it needs to show the trigger points and nerve supply.

Unsurpassed. Super detailed and easy to use.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. One of the few apps I think could rightly be labelled "Essential". I am a massage therapist and this app is wonderful for my own reference and to help in explaining things to my clients. I love being able to make notes and draw right on the image. Absolutely worth every penny!

Great job!. When I started looking for an app that I could get for my wife to help her in her study of anatomy, I was quite disappointed by what I found in other apps that were available. That was before I found this wonderfully done app. There are great features that allow you to slice away as it were, muscle by muscle, down to the skeleton with full ability to write your own notes and clear documentation for all the muscles. Quizzes are included to help you improve your knowledge and the 3d rendering is great with all the tricks available to iPads for altering views. Superb app! Steve Farrell and Madeleine O'Meara

App crashes - UPDATE. I just purchased this app about 10 minutes ago and encountered the following problems: 1) the app keeps insisting that the internet connection is off even though the iPad's wireless connection is on 2) the app freezes as soon as you select an item from the pins list - it will stop working as soon as you use the "pins" list/menu on the right side of the screen I am very disappointed with this app considering how much it costs. I am deleting this app and will try to reinstall again to see if it'll fix the problem because I would hate to have to delete it altogether since I can't get a refund. UPDATE - So I deleted the app and reinstalled it, the internet connection still does not work but this time I dare not select anything from the pins index since that was the source of the crash last time. So as long as you don't touch or select anything from the index, the app and its 3D capabilities work fine - it may take awhile to load when you select an area. I have yet to explore and figure out the rest of the app including two icons on the menu that don't seem to do anything ( a square icon and double people icon - don't know what they're for and they're not explained in the tutorial on their website)

Great info. Worth paying. Great app for learning anatomy. Should be a must for all students.

Very Impressve ! Very Satisfying !. I'm a massage therapist in permanent state of learning and this tool is perfect to master the knowledge about muscles. Thank you for your for dedicated work. G. T.

Wow. This is just an amazing app. I've been learning Trigger Point Therapy at an amateur level, and this is an amazing app to see exactly where the muscles are. The peeling, zooming and pin descriptions are really great. I paid full price and it was well worth it. Won't be using (much more expensive) anatomy book any more. This is so much easier to navigate and visualize.

Awesome. I'm a massage therapist and I will find this very useful! I love how you can strip the muscles away.

Freezzzze. Really nice app to view muscle layers. The only problem is that it freeze quite frequently on my ipad3

Essential!. One of the best tools for muscular anatomy out there. As a massage therapist and instructor I highly recommend this app for the student and practitioner alike. One note for improvement though. The app is a little restricted with movement.

Fantastic app!. Highly recommended app for mastering musculoskeletal anatomy. I used it extensively on my iPad to learn and grasp concepts while in school, especially during anatomy lab. The content is well organized and app is a lot of fun to use. Features such as the I/O map and muscle animations really make it worth the investment!

Nothing Better!. Fantastic App! 1. Never before seen anything that will review/teach muscular anatomy the way this app will. 2. Great Layering, Zooming, Cross-sections, to 3D-rotation 3. Great tool for educating patients, reviewing attachments, functions, innervation. 4. + the ability to add your own notes/flags makes the app personal for my notes. 5. Quick search feature enables you to spotlight search muscles for direct access. What I don't like: 1. Pricey -- but you get what you pay for. 2. Landscape mode: better screen use of body window, (especially once quick navigation & shortcuts are collapsed) would be appreciated.

Video do not work. I just bought that app on my iPad Air 3. The videos doesn’t work so i can not see the actions of any muscle.

Great app. I have been using this app for seven years. First as a massage therapy student, then as a massage therapist and now for university anatomy and physiology.

French option. Vert nice but a french option like thé skeleton system pro 3 application

Helpful App. This app has been very helpful with clients. I have just purchased it and have already used it several times to explain muscle locations etc. which my clients have found very helpful. This has made things easier for me as well. I am really am enjoying Muscle System Pro lll. Great app! Thanks!

Ur pterygoid muscles are messed up... Change it plz. The medial and lateral are mixed up..

Great app. I purchased this app a year ago. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

:)). I am a Registered Massage Therapist and I use this app in my practice a lot! Clients love to see and understand where their problems stem from. It makes them take a more active role in their healing. Amazing. Thank you.

Best anatomy app I've seen. I'm a PT , I wish this app had been around when I was learning muscles , O/I , and actions. The app allows u to visualize anatomy better than dissection- seriously- and for me it is making it possible to remember / review - great app. Well worth the $20 I paid.

A Reference App used to its full potential. I am a recent grad and new doctor of chiropractic. I used this as a learning tool in school, I still use it today to review musculoskeletal anatomy and, of course, I use it everyday as a very effective patient education tool. Before the latest update I was very thankful that this technology existed, now I'm just blown away.

Outstanding!. I am a orthopedic surgeon - and I use this app regularly to show patients - particular muscles and their location - it is very comprehensive and a serious tool for any medical professional or student for that matter. This sort of thing was unimaginable until recently.

A great buy. For anyone... Whether professional or personal... Visually amazing, educational and user friendly... A must buy for all who yearns to master the art of the muscle

Great app!. I am a massage therapist. Often clients ask questions about the muscles that I worked on. This app is better than any wall chart or anatomy book that I have seen! Being able to peel off the layers of muscle to see the deeper ones, this will be a valuable tool for my practice! Thank you!

Amazing application. Absolutely love it. Amazing graphics and videos. seriously don't know how I'd get through school without it.

So Greatfull. I have a had such success moving clients from a concept of how they move and the structures that facilitate this to the realty of what is under their own skin. This is a tool of the future that is our hands today and for such a nominal fee. Thank you to the developers many hours of hard work and dedication to education. This is what the iPad was meant for!

Great app but missing some details. I got this app after buying the cheaper 4.99 version. I'm finding that this version is missing some of the nerve information for several of the muscle that the cheaper version has. It is much easier to navigate this version i just wish it had all the details the cheaper version has. Would rate higher if that was fixed.

Very good job. Help now is working fine - well done. Basically - I am impressed how they manage to create more and more brilliant stuff every time!

Great Customer support. I found an issue with the program and was very pleased with the quick response. They really care about the quality of the product they have. I use this program with my patients and it's very helpful.

Very useful. This app has been incredibly helpful so far in my medical school anatomy course, especially the quiz feature. Your money is better spent here than on a textbook!

Great product. This is an amazing app. I'm a first year in medical school and it will get you through the toughest anatomy class. It's a must have.

Must have for athletes. Lets you diagnose overuse injuries. Lets you figure out how to focus your strength training. Generally adds to your understanding of what you're doing, especially but not only in general resistance training. Easy to use.

very detailed. would love to be able to make certain muscles invisible instead of having to go to the media portion so I can rotate that specific muscle

Just Ok. Yes, the visuals are strong, but the navigation around the body is clunky and cumbersome. Next version must allow the user to use the eloquent touch screen to find the areas of the body rather than use the chunky arrows to navigate. I'd wait until they get a better interface as it acts no better than wikipedia.

Professional & Detailed. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I truly appreciate the ability to ROTATE & SLICE! The interactive 3D component gives light to the spatial relationships that are harder to grasp from a book (or remember from cadaver lab 20 years ago.) The muscles are detailed in fibrous components. Very nice. Hopefully, all matters of education will be delivered in this beautiful mode. Keep your apps coming! ...and add the graphics for nerve anatomy & innervations. Patients and doctors are amazed by this app! ...along with everyone else!

More systems please. This app is awesome. The one thing I would like is to the other systems in the same app. You could turn them on and off, as layers. This is an excellent resource.

Great for anatomy teacher's!. I teach high school Anatomy and Physiology. This app is going to be useful for my next unit on the muscular system. The 3D imaging is amazing and is interactive through the use of the quiz. I am excited to use the other 3D anatomy app's offered. The IPad is really going enhance my teaching and my students learning. Sue from Chicago

Outstanding. Very helpful, and is a big boost of help I needed for school. Judging by the price, it's very reasonable and could easily cost more. Just trust this one.

Wow. This was already a great teaching tool for medical professionals and students alike; but this update has taken this app's potential to another level. Amazing- Truly amazing!

Great app for medical students. I hope the apps you buy on the ipad can be downloaded for free so you dont have to buy the same app on the mac.

Med school necessity. I bought this app to help me review for my practical and theoretical exam in med school. I did very well because of this app! It's complete with the origin, insertion, nerve supply and action of every muscle.

Complete Overhaul!. This update is awesome! Definitely worth the money! I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic student and the media clips that are now included are extremely helpful in understanding the biomechanics of the body.

This thing is great!. I am so grateful for the ability to view the structures we discuss in class right here in 3D. The graphics and interface are amazing. The update is icing on the cake. Terrific work to the team of designers. Please keep the wonderful apps comings.

Awesome!!!. As a student in Gross Anatomy this app has saved my life. It is just what I needed and has many features which has made studying much easier. Origins, insertions, and videos of the movement performed by each muscle is a very short list of what all this app has to offer! Great buy and worth every penny!

Excellent app for instructors!. I wish I had this app when I was learning anatomy in school. This is truly amazing technology and so many applications for anatomy instructors. As a physician I can also use this with patient education. I would love to see additional apps for all the organ systems with the physiology animations included.

This is a really good app. I use it in my massage therapy business to show clients problem areas and muscles. It is also a good refresher study guide. I find the app easy to use and useful. It was worth buying.

Awesome app- Love it !. Had a problem yesterday downloading the app- Called the vendor and I guess there was a server issue. Anyway- problem is resolved- Downloaded and app is working fine. Love this application- Especially love peeling back the layers of the muscles- very very cool..... Would definitely recommend to anyone studying anatomy like me.

fantastic!. This is an amazing app for personal trainers. I use it all the time to show clients their muscles. It's a great learning tool. Well with the money.

Muscles. Great study program! I just wish you could buy a package that has them all together in one app.

Wonderful. I am a medical student and use this app frequently when first learning a group of muscles. It is wonderful at helping me understand relationships of muscles to one another. Please please please PLEASE make a better cardiovascular and nervous system app for the iPad. I would love to be able to rotate the brachial plexus around.

Great Reference. Final exams are approaching, and now I have a tool that helps it all sink in. The 3D let's me see muscle and tendons attachments clearly. No more guessing exactly where the quadrate tubercle is. I can now visualize where the gluteofemoral bursa is because of the depth this app illustrates. The app also makes it easier to find structures quickly unlike the cumbersome and heavy anatomy atlas.

Good....... 1) slow as heck. It takes a good couple secs to go from the torso to the head and I have an ipad 4 2) cannot navigate using 2 fingers as in ess. Skeleton. Must tap different icons to move anywhere! FRUSTRATING 3) if I tap a muscle like the levator scapulae i want it to highlight green and tell me it's name. I have to tap the 'pin' icon (don't rotate the skeleton! Or the pins will disappear) then tap pins randomly until I find the name of that muscle 4) I zoom in for a closer look and it's pixelated! I paid over $500 for a retina screen. I paid over $20 for an app which is a premium price mind you. I expect retina quality gosh darn it!!! 5) quizzes are not customizable enough. NOT good for studying. There is no way I want to be quizzed on what I don't want/ need to learn for my class or profession Get it together muscle sys. Pro III

Best App to Learn the Muscles. As a current massage therapist student, I have found this very help to have as a visual aid in learning the muscles. I can clearly see the I/O and its action with the Media tab. My only wish would be that it becomes a + app. Or the media content is added to the iPhone version. It would be nice to have as a pocket reference when I may not have my iPad.

Too Cool. This is great. The images pop on an iPad. Can't wait to get it on my iPad 2 when it comes out. The loading times and the interaction is going to be even better. Great job and thanks for the free update. This is very cool.

Useful app.. I am a physical therapy student and this application is very helpful. I really enjoy the features, such as "pins" that allow the user to access the origin & insertion points of each muscle. Very cool application, thanks!

The best for studying muscles. Great app, the resolution and the details are awesome to study. I just wish there was a way to rotate the body while doing the quiz, it would be very useful.

Muscle System Pro III. This app is my number one reason for buying an iPad. It has given me invaluable incite into visualizing muscular dynamics and enhanced my ability to provide more effective treatments for my clients in my massage therapy practice.

Muscle Pro. I'm a doc and my wife is a Pilates instructor, we both are impressed with the graphics as well as the ease of use and detailed info. Great app for the iPad

Outstanding!. This app is awesome and totally worth the money! I am a physical therapist and this app is excellent for helping my patients understand their site of injury. It's gross anatomy on an iPad.

Best app out there period. I simply love this app I own the iPad and iPod touch version and I learn so much and I got great help for anatomy classes, just by selecting and adding a note not remember the content in the tests had helped me greatly. P.S This developer have the best costumer service.

Incredible app. We purchased most of the apps by this company and the kids run the tests and see who can get a better score, they pass it around the room like candy while secretly learning. I love it! A great investment for a quality product 10 stars!!

Nice app but has short comings for a $20 app. You cannot zoom in on the sections that connect to another section. Ex. upper back/lower neck region. You can only see that arae when zoomed out. The app is jerking rotating on the new iPad. they need to adjust the app and slow down the manual rotation.

Brilliant!!. Cannot tell you how useful this has been in my retraining, I'm getting twice the results with half the effort. Good job.

MA Pro. This is a great program for studying Muscle Anatomy, however, it could use some tweaks. For example the views given when doing the quiz are pretty poor. It is difficult to see the muscle in question. Since you are zoomed in pretty tight, you can't see any landmarks.

Exceptional. Perfect for showing patients detailed information about their orthopedic problem! Excellent detail.

Great App to use for very inquisitive patients.. I really like this app because it makes my patients understand where their problems with regards to how the muscle pulls and it's function.

Muscle pro 3. So apple sent me the update and now it's going to take forever to download it. If it weren't such an amazing app, I'd really be ticked off.

Great for school. Purchased this app to help with anatomy in chiropractic school, and it has been amazing! The graphics are great, as well as the media which show each muscle's action. Would recommend this to anyone learning the muscle systems of the body.

Love!. Have been using these apps as a college course supplement. They have been so helpful. They are very comprehensive and the graphics are excellent quality. So glad I found the 3d4medical apps! Can not believe how affordable they are, too. Would definitely suggest for students.

Latest iOS compatibility. FINAL UPDATE. Dear customers, this application is coming to its end of life. It doesn't mean the app will stop working, but we won't issue any more updates in future. We realize that for years it was providing a useful learning experience to great number of users around the globe. However the company has gone a long way with technology based on real 3D and it would be reasonable to let the old product line go. We appreciate your support so far and hope you join us on our flagship platform - Complete Anatomy https://apps.apple.com/us/app/complete-anatomy-2021/id1054948424.
