CVS Caremark Comments & Reviews 2026
Cancelled Prescription. I love the idea of receiving my prescription via mail order...it’s cheaper and quite efficient (I thought)...I quit the auto refill because I would receive my meds way ahead of time... sometimes 30 days before I would even need them. That happened multiple times so I removed the “auto” refill for all my meds. For the meds that I can pick up at Walgreen’s, I do and for the ones that I cannot get a 90-day supply, I order individually via CVS Caremark Mail-order. I wish the timing would get fixed. I don’t mind receiving an order 7 days a head of time, but not 30 days before I need the meds.
I Like This Ap. This ap makes it very easy to refill and renew my prescriptions on time. It is very helpful to receive a text saying a prescription is ready to refill or renew and all I have to do is type “YES” to initiate the refill to be sent to me or renewal request to be sent to my doctor. I love the fact that I don’t need to go to the drug store and wait for a prescription to be filled (unless needed immediately). All of my prescriptions taken regularly are sent to me by mail and are less expensive than buying at a drug store.
Web site hard to navigate locks you out often. This is one of the hardest web sites I have ever worked with. It has a lot of bugs in it. I have requested to speak with tech support but have never been connected. Caremark makes it hard to do business with them. I asked to speak with supervisor and the associate would not put with me through. I have given up on mail order.
Something changed. I used the CVS app for 3 years without complaint. The mail refill was so fast that I quit using autofill because it arrive so quickly. If a new Rx was needed, there was never a pause or any delay in contacting my dr and my script being filled. In the last 6 or 7 months I have yet to get the CVS app to work without calling in, only to find out that the RX has expired and “the dr hasn’t renewed the script.” This is the same dr for the prior 3 years!! Last month I was told I will have to call in any future refills. I live in a rural Texas town - the nearest CVS store is 1hr away, so mail order is my only option. Thank you for the opportunity to “rate” this app - I’m sure you share my concern in finding out why this wonderful app suddenly started having problems.
Slowest clunky app ever. Forced to use CVS because of my company plan and haven’t had any positive experience in 3 years. I’ve used 3 different locations and always the same antiquated computers. It has taken 3 calls to set up the 90 mail order to change my address. I would much rather pay out of pocket than support this company. Why do you have CVS CAREMARK and also a CVS Pharmacy. The systems don’t talk because I have two completely different profiles all linked to the same drivers licenses. No tech has been able to assist, but when I get locked out of one I can refill on the other. Run to any other store. I find it hard to believe with other companies improving their computer systems CVS isn’t bankrupt.
Unable to do transfer subscriptions.. So for reordering it seems to work although sometimes the prescriptions I need don’t show up and I have to search history to get them. My real complaint is that when I tried to contact them on the phone I couldn’t get through their phone tree to talk to someone so I tried to use the app. I kept getting messages that I had to fix my phone number and my message. Apparently it couldn’t figure out my phone number without the dashes. Couldn’t use () either. But the best part was the text. It said I had special characters. I rewrote the text ten times making it simpler each time. The answer was that I had used the word I’d instead of I would. Really. It’s a text box. Still haven’t heard from them.
Untrained staff. Worst mail order service I’ve ever experienced. And to make matters worst when you call customer service they are clueless to any that has to do with the basic functions of prescription or mail order service functions. They are literally reading the instruction while you sit there and listen to them babble your themselves. I will never recommend this service from cvs Caremark to anyone. Very unpleasant experience. I’ve been hung up on, put on hold for up to 25 mins. Then they pick up and take another 30 mins to figure out how to use their computer. Annoying annoying annoying annoying!!!!
Junk. I have a CVScaremark account via its website that works perfectly. I jumped through all the hoops trying to log onto the app, POJ. After doing all the necessary ‘paperwork’ it told me to create a new password. After entering a PW that met the criteria I was given a message of ‘technical difficulties’ try again. I’ve been through 3 days of technical difficulties. I Called Tech Support and was given what I thought was helpful info. (I had to change the PW on my website account to default PW and was told I’d have change to a new one. Nope, now my website PW is the Caremark default PW. ) There is more horror to this but I’m done. I’ll use the website account and delete this atrocity.
So you want to find your messages?. Good luck with that. So you are sitting there minding your own business and you got an email from Caremark saying that you need to login to get a message. But there’s no way to do it. You’re supposed to find it under profile but there’s no secure message center option there. You see every option you can imagine for checking your prescriptions and your financial summary and so forth but no option for checking the message inbox. Well, here’s how you do it if you’d like to know: You have to go to “help center/web and account support” and compose a message; when you click send an email, at that point and that point only, SOMETIMES ( it’s unpredictable) you’ll see the inbox. Healthcare in this country has the worst implementation of software and web interface of any industry.
Who signed off on this app?. One of the least intuitive and horribly unfunctional apps. Enlist the help of some UI designers, reach for customer feedback. Not even a basic messages option on the front page and try to get back to secure messages or find it in the first place. As a customer I want to know if there’s been a response and i should see front and center. Help center is a disaster, no search functionality and have to sort through a list of questions. Times out in the process of searching drugs and writing a message. Do better.
App Trouble. I logged on to my CVS App account and in the beginning I could see all my prescriptions. Once I ordered my refills and went back to look a my full list, all of my medications were missing. I did everything that the Help Center instructed me to do as well as deleting the app and reinstalling the app. As well as turning my tablet on and off. I called the local CVS and they gave me a number to call (800-SHOPCVS) and was on hold to speak with someone for over an hour. I got tired of waiting, because that amount of time on hold was not only unacceptable but it was also unprofessional. Is anyone else having this problem? If so can you please share how you solved this issue! Unhappy Customer
Total Garbage. I am mystified how this app could possibly be 4.5 stars ... it is absolute rubbish. I was running low on my medication so I reordered through the app. I received an email confirmation that it would be ready by 11am the next day. I waited until 6pm and when I went to the pharmacist they had nothing. When they checked they said the prescription could not be refilled because it was too early. I asked how that could be when I had ran out. I was told it was sent to me by mail. I never asked for it to be sent by mail, the app showed it for pick up, and the email confirmation showed for pick up. So I had to pay full price - $50 - for 3 pills while I tried to sort out this clown show. Come on CVS, we are not talking about hailing a ride or ordering a meal, this is people’s medication for crying out loud!
No customer care. A significant failure of this app, is the inability to contact customer service within the app, you instead need to go to the website. But I can understand why the app developers would want to avoid that , as the “Mail Center” does not appear to support a message chain, every interaction appears to be a new case for the customer service staff (despite being “replies”). In addition, the amount of text allowed is quite limited nor does it allow for any sort of attachments nor external emails (such as the email from my insurance carrier approving the early refill). I can only conclude that they are trying to make the customer experience so bad, as to force me to move my prescriptions back to the retail pharmacies.
Difficulty using the app. Using the app is extremely awkward. When I clicked on refill prescriptions several prescriptions were listed that were not due for a refill. The one prescription that I was interested in filling was fenolfebric acid. I then had difficulty finding where I could input the prescription number. Once I found it and input the prescription number my request was processed. You apparently have redesigned your app and it is extremely unfriendly awkward and difficult to use. You need to use some common sense and think about the users perspective. Respectfully Dixon Neas
Thanks!. For last 4 yrs since retirement I was using Humana Rx. They doubled in price plus my meds increased. I love Caremark because I had this when I worked at Becton Dickinson. My experience has always been great. I do wish my headache med wasn’t so costly Rizatriptan, but some meds are just high. Plus I can only get 27 for 9 months. Through Humana I could get 36 tabs. I thought about switching to sumatriptan but I already have atrial fib. Not sure it’d be better to switch. Thanks for being easy to reach!!! Sandra
App does not function. I get a txt that I can pickup my prescription at the local CVS. I like to check whether it is cheaper without insurance before I pickup my pills. Next the App tells me “too early” and does not provide the information of the pricing. Also today I received a txt message that I must approve the high copay for one of my medications before CVS Caremark will ship it... wow I use this exact Med already for many years and always pay the exorbitant high price/copay. The txt did include a link that goes nowhere. Next I login in my App and discover that I cannot approve in the CVS caremark app, but must call CVS caremark to say “yes please charge and ship ASAP” like I have been doing for 4 times a year during more than 5 years...
Had anyone building this app actually tried to use it?. It’s impossible to use this app. Every time you click to details and then back to prescription page it pops to the top and removes filters. Doesn’t provide enough details to tell if a script is in store or mail order. Prompts repeatedly for cookies even thought I’ve accepted them - keeps reappearing and blocking half of the page. Same for survey requests. Constantly pops up even in you’ve accepted. Takes several seconds to reload data on each page (the spinning Microsoft red circles of death). I’m trying to use my pharmacy benefits in a way that saves Caremark money (and me too) but this app makes it next to impossible.
Sorry for Caremark subscribers. App is not very intuitive. Can’t view dependents ID cards (apparently minors should have email addresses so they can view them themselves), hopefully “family access” will includes them when/if it comes. Also when when checking cost kids Rx 30 day walk in supply is quantity 300 but 90 day mail is quantity 1800 for same strength/dose? Note this rating is just for the app. I would give their walk in and specialty pharmacies a 1 (incorrect fills, changing insurance to a discount plan and not fully reimbursing the difference when caught) and their mail order a 2 (their new to you program with 30 day fills burns through refills even though it costs them more with shipping).
Incompetent people and technology. I was mistakenly told to download this by a customer service rep. To speak to a person is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. The representative that I called to help me troubleshoot says their system shuts down 5 times a day. It took 20 minutes for him to tell me to just call my insurance. His supervisor couldn’t even help. I insisted there was some confusion and I may not be in the right department. He said CVS could not help, call my insurance. These people are horrible, I can not imagine an elderly person dealing with them😢. He laughed and said he couldn’t help and said I live in a “Coronavirus Area” ??? California ???The app constantly froze and he said I didn’t exist in the entire CVS system(actually a ten year member). People please be careful with your loved ones. He asked for a lot of personal information only to say to call someone else. The app didn’t help and just shut down when it experienced an error, in addition to taking multiple minutes to load. They clearly don’t have the infrastructure or training in this department or app. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Out of meds. For the past month and a half I’ve been trying to transfer my meds to this pharmacy. It’s been a nightmare. I’ve been out of my most important prescriptions for a week now. I had an order that was finally in process, only to be cancelled???? I have another med that I’ve been out for several weeks already that isn’t going to be refilled again until the end of the month. There’s no place to complain. Instead I have to just sit here and wait until you all decide I’m allowed to have my medication. I’m also being overcharged for the medications I have actually gotten. I’ve called multiple times. I’ve called both Caremark and my med providers. I hate this service. I just want my medication delivered to me. Why is that so hard?
Easy to use. This app is much easier to use than navigating the web browser on my Mac or iPad. I like that you can scan the Rx # for refills because it’s quick. I didn’t see where you can request a new prescription though which I could do on the web browser. I didn’t take a lot of time exploring what it had to offer because I was just on there to refill two expired prescriptions which it did lightning fast. It linked my accounts easily and was no hassle.
Caremark prescription service. My husband and I are both using Caremark as our prescription service. I am extremely disappointed that I cannot manage both of our prescriptions using the same email address. It is a hassle that I don’t want to tangle with to get another email address just to manage the other spouse’s prescriptions. I have used other prescription service and this has NEVER been and an issue. When one spouse has the responsibility of managing all of the prescriptions for a family it should be easily managed with one email address ! Step up to the plate and remedy this situation!
Worst App. This really is the worst app. If you don’t have high blood pressure before using it you definitely will after. But don’t get excited- they won’t let you refill your BP meds- because of course they know better than your Dr. there is nothing simple about this app. Tell it to use facial recognition- go ahead. But it will still ask for a password that it will refuse to recognize. Want to refill a prescription? Nope! Not gonna do that even though it was last refilled 3 months ago. I am convinced they make it impossible to use so that you need more meds that the app will refuse to give you even though a medical professional prescribed them. I really really hate this app and I am forced to use it because of course. Insurance. For meds that aren’t even addictive like for BP or cholesterol. This app will completely ruin a perfectly good evening. This app will tell you to renew a med and you’ll do it then it will chastise you and say it’s too soon. This app makes you think hmmm I’d rather die than try to use it to refill a prescription.
At least it does what is needed. This App does what it’s made for yes. But I could more easier and user friendly. Currently (5/29) that App has 4 different buttons just for prescriptions. With a bunch of random things that aren’t even really need unless you need to change something (payment/profile). A simple Prescription dashboard would fix most problems where you can see all current prescriptions and way to refill or manage right there and to add a new prescription. Then maybe everything else in a side menu
Slow, fails to adhere to basic usage guidelines. I’ve been using this app for several years and have yet to find it helpful. Inevitably, I have to make a phone call because the app is too slow or simply malfunctions. Today, I submitted two refills, one went through and the other failed due to “heavy volume”. But there is no indication if I need to resubmit the failed order or not. For UX improvements, start by presenting just the sign on button-prior to sign on everything is locked. Second, do a full app review of buttons, text links, and input fields to A) standardize throughout, and B) conform to modern mobile app development UX standards (for example, don’t hide the “see more Rx” at the bottom of the list, just fetch it as I start scrolling down; also, replace all text links with buttons) - two ideas, if implemented will vastly improve the usability of the app.
Quick Refill is awesome!. What a great feature. You don’t have to sign in. Just be able to provide your prescription number and date of birth. If you need more than one prescription refilled the system will show you what prescriptions are available for reordering. You just check it off. So you only need one of your prescription numbers to be able to renew all your prescriptions. It’s really a wonderful design. Thank you!!!
INCONSISTENT INFO. I get a message one day and another later. I can’t tell if the prescriptions ‘shipped’ are those actually shipped in the mail or ordered by someone - auto ordered or my doctor or your program in error, at the local pharmacy for pick up. But that’s called ‘shipped’ as well. I pick up a prescription and STILL had the status 2 days later as shipping. ?? I have a 30 day supply of Sertraline showing shipped. By who? I didn’t order it. It says $18. I can’t tell if it’s coming in the mail or what. When I price check a 90 day supply it’s $0.00 so why am I getting a 30 day supply? Your system is confusing and costs me money!
glitch “ready for refill”. I want to be able to rely on the app for re-ordering meds, but It needs a major fix. I am getting “ready for refill” indication within a few days after I received a refill. If I check the block again, I get a message that it’s too early to refill and they will edit to the list to refill later. Then I get further messages when it’s time to refill. As a result of the above, I cannot rely on the “ready to refill“ indication as indication that I’m really ready for a refill. It is not helpful for me to instantly refill, Ben have it put in a pending status for months of the time. I recommend that you modify the app to trigger the notification only when med is actually ready for refill — or, alternatively accept auto-refill authorization as retail pharmacies will.
What a crappy app and service. Cvs claims to be inclusive but their mail in prescriptions are anything but. As a blind individual with some dexterity issues, they cannot simply mail meds with easy open bottles. Instead they mail you the caps. Who is genius who thought of this- like I have to be able to open it first in order to put the easy open caps on! Second, there is no script talk available for mail in medications! Like disabled people done have prescriptions mailed to them? That would have been the FIRST area to pilot that.
Decent app incompetent pharmacy. The app itself is not bad. The problem is if you ever need to renew a prescription cvs is incompetent. I used the for a couple of years, and every time I added a prescription or renewed one, I would have to callc s multiple times. Customer service is unhelpful in most cases. I had them send me a recall letter, for a prescription and they wouldnt even send me a replacement. I even had to renew the prescription (which took several calls back to cvs to proces).. I finally gave up after cvs was unable to fill a refill after 4 months during which I called many times and wasted hours. In all these scenarios I also eas in touch with my dr office in case it was on their side. After switching to another pharmacy I can say it is definitely on the cvs side. I am able to consistently get prescriptions from a real pharmacy next day. Will never do business with cvs again.
Worst App ever used!. I am truly disgusted by this App. For the second time in a month the App has removed all my local pharmacy medications so I cannot refill them. It took me about 8 hrs talking to about 10 people from the pharmacy, corporate and IT to fix it a month ago. All the pharmacies tell you is that the app is always wrong. You can’t trust what it says when you receive a text from them. Your medications have not been filled. They haven’t even been ordered. Calling CVS pharmacy or corporate means you will sit listening to the same music all day. No one answers the phone.
Terrible, useless. Can’t make payment. App is terrible. You can’t make a payment on it and you can’t update prescriptions you have on file to the mail order option. Still have to jump through hoops, hang out on hold, etc just to get it adjusted. Cvs should make this all available in the app. It would be way more user friendly and also save you money from hiring customer service phone agents who really just like to leave you on hold (currently been on hold 10 minutes for instance and still waiting just trying to pay my mail order bill.... it’s almost like you don’t want my money CVS 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Stretched UI still in 2018. Seriously the iPhone 6 was released over 3 years together and you still not have updated the UI to take advantage of the native screen resolution. Now you are even further behind with iPhone X screen support. Instead you continue to clamp onto the days of small iPhone 5 UI. Get your act together. Swallow your technical debt and implement real support for iOS size classes.
Having a difficult time managing meds on this app. Since using this app I have had more trouble I cannot refill my meds by scanning it I cannot keep the meds there’s no way I ran out of 90 antidepressant pills in only 45 days there’s no way and yet I’m out and now they didn’t refill it when I tried to refill it the other day I got my other meds but not the important one so anyway it’s not that great of a nap right now there’s a lot of issues to 💪 I sure hope this mail order gets better because I prefer my other mail order company but you gotta go with what your insurance says so not that great I’m giving it a one star I login repetitively and I cannot for the life of me it won’t take the password that I put in it’s just one of those things that anyways hopefully it’ll get better soon very unhappy with this app
Accessibility. This is the provider I am forced to use so I do what I can. There are no CVS pharmacies within reasonable driving distance so I am stuck with the online site. It is difficult to manage the auto refill and auto renew features. It seems like they MAKE it hard so they can send medications that you don’t need any more, at that point, they can FORCE YOU to pay for it since they say they can’t accept returns. I feel 3 stars is very generous. I wouldn’t doubt there customer base would shrink by a lot if employers offered choices of prescription plans. CVS needs better clarity for their web site and phone apps. AND THEY NEED TO ALLOW US TO GO TO A LOCAL PHARMACY FOR MAINTENANCE MEDS WHEN THEY DON’T HAVE A STORE LOCALLY.
Absolute dumpster fire of an app. This app is shockingly awful in its UI/UX design and even more so in how nearly completely useless it is. Honestly I don’t know why CVS Caremark even bothers with maintaining this app given the fact that it’s missing so much basic functionality and is so cumbersome to use at all. It’s legitimately a *much* worse version of the official Caremark website both in design & functionality—you can’t view ANY relevant information related to your plan other than your prescription card. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache of this app and just stick to using the Caremark desktop website.
Worst Prescription Resource I Have Ever Used.. I have never dealt with such a horrible service provider. They constantly mess up my very simple prescription. They kept sending me the wrong medication, which is DANGEROUS. Every time I would call they would just pass me around to 4 different people until they’d say they fixed it, then a few months later I’d be dealing with the same exact problem again. They give no help, no resources, and only one representative I spoke to over the years long ordeal was kind and helpful and actually solved the problem. Once you solve one problem then begins another. Save yourself the tears, headache, and time. Literally use ANY OTHER PROVIDER. WORST. EVER.
Like mail service site can be confusing. I love the mail service. Since I do not drive it is much easier to have it mailed then to ask someone to pick up meds. I find the site a little confusing. There are meds that don’t show that should and vice versa. That usually mean a CS call but they are great. The waits can be a little long at times. It seems when I finally figure it all out they update or what I call screw it up so it takes time to figure out again but that is the way of all these sites.
Credit or Debit card installation. When trying to put the information in for the cards it doesn’t except none of my cards and they have a part that says put a nickname for the card that always does not accept the information get rid of that feature on the app it will make it easier to use. When the information is in at your end can check to see if the cards are good, also we should be able to change the card or delete a card with no problems that can not be done now. I’m a new customer to your service because my company changed plans so if you’re having problems with me your probably having it with them. Please Fix Thank you
Technically works. This app is terribly designed. You have to re-login constantly, but password autofill doesn’t work because my phone doesn’t recognize the app as being affiliated with the Caremark website. The loading animation looks like a Windows Movie Maker transition, and it’s genuinely disorienting. None of the text elements are centered. Buttons that look like they should do something when pressed aren’t actually buttons. Notifications are glitchy and inaccurate. All of this speaks to the app being coded by an amateur, which would be acceptable for a small family pharmacy, but not an actual corporation with the resources to hire a professional.
Who developed this?. I had trouble logging in. They forgot user and password functions are terrible. You cannot retrieve with common information to other organizations like sending a reset to your email or cell. Went in the app to submit feedback and while typing the app crashed twice, and the 3rd time the submit button didn't work. I had to try zooming, scrolling, and finally mashing the area near the button for a minute to submit. My doctor submitted a prescription over a week ago. It's still not here, so I'm without a maintenance drug i need for my thyroid and it's starting to affect me physically. No email or text notification that my script has shipped... nothing. Called support, they tell me it shipped on the 19th (the day i called), no wait, it shipped on the 13th. Um, I'm not sure but it says it's in Indianapolis right now but doesn't have an anticipated arrival date. I like the 90 day scripts for the time saver and the "set-it" and forget it, but i could've driven back and forth to Walgreens 12 times in the time I've spent on this and without going over a week without my meds.
App is crap. I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually miss the Express Scripts app my employer had previously. This app is confusing, slow, missing core features, displays inacurrate or conflicting information and can't auto log you into its web version which it dumps you to because of all the missing features. The web site is even worse at least me trying to use it from my phone. I also end up getting the app stuck on black pages. All I want to do it refill prescriptions and it seems to fail the most here. It can’t show me prices and when it does it can’t tell me why it costs that much and even worse when looking at different pages it shows zero. The progress on the refills it blank so I have no idea what is going on. When I try to change payment information to my FSA it tells me sorry feature coming soon and dumps me to the web which continually keeps asking me to log in multiple times or preform multiple security checks.
Pop ups are annoying. I just started trying out this app and within 5 minutes it popped up 3 times asking if I’m enjoying the app. NO. It’s already like getting teeth pulled and with the incessant pop ups I’m forced to give it 1 star since I can’t give it 0 or negative. Let’s just get something straight. You are asking the wrong question. If someone is doing their taxes and a pop up asked them if they were enjoying it, what do you expect! NO! Instead ask “are you finding the app easy to use” or “are you finding the information you need”. And give me a day or two to figure it out, or you are just going to get crappy ratings.
Used to be great.. New prescriptions never appear at all. I have to call the pharmacy multiple times to check if they received it and see if it’s ready (which during covid is required, since pharmacies are overwhelmed and understaffed. I’ve spent entire evenings driving to multiple pharmacies to get a single prescription filled, but that’s unrelated to this app.) Search doesn’t work. Enter a drug name and “apply” button is grayed out. Select a time frame and it submits the search automatically (what?) and zero results return every time, even for drugs I CAN see from previous prescriptions. Idk what happened but suddenly nothing is working at all. Not even worth having the app installed.
Worst service ever. This is the worst customer service ever! Forget about auto refill feature, as this magically changes by its own. You call them, they tell you what you want to hear, but you’ll be calling them back to have it shipped again, ask where’s my auto refill feature and they state it’s now set up. Only to call back next time. For ex. I call this place frequently to have reg prescriptions placed on auto refil but then call again to have it shipped the following month, so wish my company would seek other options! I waste more hours dealing with this place... Truly the worst customer service & worst part of my employment with my company!
Nothing but problems. To be fair, most of the problems are the same as the web site. Tells you items are ready for refill before they are (app is even more misleading than website. And the first page says I have 3 ready for refill (they are not yet eligible) but if you follow the link it shows 4 ready, but they are not. While some prescription that are eligible for refill are not marked as such. Prescriptions that still had refills, were marked to contact pharmacy but they didn't know what I was talking about. Prescriptions ”disappear” if not filled and need a new prescription. Site is always experiencing heavy use. I've seen this notice everytime I have signed on for more than a year. After a while it's not heavy traffic, it's the usual traffic. The ”your cost” isn't close to what I have paid. No idea what this cost is. I've enabled face id several times and app keeps asking me to sign in Still can't set up address or billing info from app. If you have to go to website, why not get with app? Can't believe this is the same app I have. If I didn't have to use Caremark I wouldn't. They have a terrible website and service.
Garbage. Coding and algorithms are awful. Loading times are awful. You can’t log in with Face ID even tho it says you can. It doesn’t save any login info you have to type it in every single time. While it still meanwhile asks you if you want to use Face ID. Sure. Then it doesn’t work. Period. They ask for feedback about their app and I can’t be the only one who’s submitted complaints. That was 3 months ago. Guess what? Nothing. That’s right. They ask for feedback and do nothing about it. Sorry but 3-4 months? There’s no excuse. This is an absolute trash app by CVS tech team. It is total trash folks. Make no mistake. And don’t be mistaken by the positive reviews. Don’t believe me? Go ahead. Use it. See for yourself.
Prescription cancelled!??. I hadn’t received one of three medications in the mail yet, the most important of the three. Went online to check the status and all in the same page, it tells me that this medication was filled and mailed to me, and that the prescription was canceled and not sent to me. Why would a pharmacy cancel a prescription?? And not even notify me? Not even by email?? First time I’ve used CVS mail service and they already drop the ball in a HUGE way. Express Scripts may charge a little bit more but at least you get your medications without having to jump through hoops and panic that it’s going to run out. I spoke with customer service who was the saving grace because she was so kind and apologetic. Now will have to call my doctor and have them send the script to a local cvs and hope they have it in stock...
Face Recognition to unlock has NEVER worked.. The app asks me every time I open it if I want to use Face Recognition to unlock the App - I always click Allow - and it never works. The next time I open the App - it asks me AGAIN. Irritating. Also Text message refill alerts should distinguish if the refill will be handled by Local CVS or Mail Order. Otherwise - the app is efficient and I can tell the people working on its design are making improvements to improve user experience and ease of use. Making it easier to see info users need to see. They change the graphic layout to make it easier and better - it is one of the better designed apps around. And if they continue to make improvements from users feedback - it can be an excellent App. Good job keep up the improvements.
Not a fan. We are forced to use this by our health insurance provider. There no actual CVS stores anywhere near us, so we have to get our prescriptions through the mail. We are somewhat rural and have a problem with mail theft in the area, so that makes me uncomfortable. We are in the southwest with very hot temperatures in the summer, and some medications lose effectiveness if they are left in the heat. It also take 3-5 business days for the meds to arrive. It feels like a really ghetto system and I’m sure it was put in place to save the already expensive commercial insurance company money.

Suggestion. When a refill or new prescription is filled, the previous iteration or old prescription number should be “deactivated” and appear to the person again. Internally, it could be available for six months to CVS Caremark but not to the person. It would be less confusing when ask us to review prescriptions.
Does not work on an iPad. Originally this was just an ugly app on an iPad looking like an iPhone in the middle of the screen. This morning it told me to upgrade the app. Now it doesn’t work. It will not let me login. I tried again and it told me something was wrong contact customer service and, finally, it wanted me to “recover” my password. Since the app is still working on my iPhone I didn’t do anything and place a new order using my phone. Clearly not for an iPad.
iPad Native App Needed. The app works fine on the iPhone. It is nice that it supports passkeys. But it would be nice if on the iPad we had more than the image of a huge iPhone rather than a native iPad app after all the iPad has been available for more than a decade. It would also be nice the it supported an authentication app as an additional two-factor authentication method.
Face ID login?. Si I am trying the Face ID login because apparently it should be faster and easier. Well not so. After enabling Face ID the next time I login it asks me to activate Face ID again so I have to login normally. How frustrating is that? Why don’t you fix it? It appears to me that this bug has been there for a while. Fixing it I may give it another star. It is not a 5 star app though as there are other issues as well
Drug Price Module doesn’t work. As with many pharmacy apps this one won’t really tell you the cost of the drug. I suspect it is because they don’t want you to know until you are there. If the drug isn’t covered it won’t go ahead with data. It is most important to check price when the medication IS NOT covered as you want to compare different pharmacies. This only checks CVS. Try GoodRx instead
Lacks info , not intuitive. This app is a disaster. Information is difficult to find. Rx’s that were denied or redone continue to display as “we need your help” with no way to get rid of them even though another Rx was written to supersede them. Rx filled via CVS Caremark are missing so you must use the label on the Rx to call in your refills. No way to delete old/outdated Rx so they continue to sort to the top of your list. Rx filled locally do not appear and no way to switch them to mail away. 👎
Feedback requests are ridiculous, buggy, slow. When I navigate to any screen on this app, there are about 3 or 4 pop-up buttons requesting app feedback. My feedback is you need to take all those buttons away! They make it hard to use this app that is already slow any buggy. I left the same feedback in app, but apparently that feedback isn’t read by anyone, so the feedback buttons are a sham anyway. Aetna/cvs does not care about delivering a good customer experience, they want to wear you down so you don’t use your benefits because they make it so frustrating.
Prescription refills. Absolutely none of your apps, calls or texts work! Please please please fix your recorded call in. It doesn’t take 30 to 45 seconds for anyone to answer a question. Also when invited to say the name of my prescription for refill i am answered with “I can’t answer that question.” They never hear me. Every single time I am forced to ask to speak to someone and call the pharmacy and leave a message. Certainly you know you need to fix this.
Who could possibly want to call a pharmacy from their phone?. So here’s some nonsense. I have a prescription that has been “on order” for more than a week with no update or estimated fulfillment date. I clicked to see the pharmacy info to call to ask about the order. There is a number displayed but somehow it does not work as a link. What’s worse, you also cannot copy and paste the number over to the phone keypad. So in a MOBILE app, I have to go find a freaking pen and piece of paper to write down the phone number so that I can dial it. Who the hell designed THAT?!
Useless. The app will not accept the login credentials used on the full website, which makes no sense. I doubt the app is helpful for refills since the main website can’t seem to function properly for this. Caremark is THE WORST prescription “coverage” I’ve ever had. If you take anything more than 3 months they force you to use CVS or they won’t cover any costs. The entire thing is a racket to overcharge you or force you to patronize CVS, no matter how many problems you have. They’d rather you quit taking your medications than actually provide you with the services you pay for.
Worse app ever. Only have the app because they said it’d be easier to manage my prescriptions. And boy were they wrong. Everything takes forever to load and is difficult to use. I am a tech savvy person and have built basic apps and this was obviously done by someone that has no clue what the average user would want to do. The app is basically a way for them to force you to pay extra for mail order since that’s the only prominent feature and ONLY THING THAT LOADS. HORRIBLE app and service.
Missing basic functionality. This app is useful for adding your ID card to your Apple Wallet but beyond that it’s missing really basic things like viewing prior authorizations history & status, plan deductible/max out-of-pocket amounts, etc. Like basic insurance information users are looking for. It’s essentially a less useful version of the Caremark website so what’s the point? Do yourself a favor & stick to the website.
Not modern or convenient at all. This app does have some features that people may often use, but it doesn’t improve upon or serve as a good addition to using the website itself at all. The interface feels very dated, and there’s no way to track prior authorizations or easily access website features that you would expect to see within a companion app.
App says iPhone is jailbroken. I’ve had this app for 2 years. It has always worked fine. However today it will not open because it says my phone is jailbroken. I do not think it is. Could it be something with this app?
They have a formulary but won’t let you see it or alternatives. Caremark now has a formulary and if an alternative does not exist , then you won’t be able to have drug coverage . They have no appeal process . If you have severe adverse side effects , you don’t have any alternatives . There’s no process for deviation. Since the drug cost tool doesn’t work, you can’t see what is and is not covered. The app doesn’t have access to a secure message center and you can’t access it with an iPhone in a browser. There’s no way to enter allergies- so if a drug is reformulated - and uses nut or shellfish products , after years of not - you can be sold medications that make you ill. This happened to me. Once they ship something you own it. The drug cost feature has not worked for me in five years dispite calling in for help. So if a dr sends a script for something that costs 1800 dollars you own it .
CVS/caremark is the only way to go. They are really the only way to go when they get their instructions right . I highly advise that in the future that you offer daily dose medicine dispense already with pills put in each compartment . So old people do not have to go through and take a chance getting their medicine messed up .
December 3/18. My app makes it very convenient because I keep forgetting to call during operation hours and sometimes I can ‘t get a prescription after hours. I change banks and I called CVS to change my credit card it got changed and will be using the new card for the new Rx requested tonight to pay for it.
app is useless, website is fine. my insurance changed at the new year and along with it my pharmacy benefits. I was looking forward to managing my prescriptions via app as I have been doing for many years with a different pharmacy benefits company that has an excellent, secure, HIPAA-compliant, bug-free app. However — I have not once been able to check the status of a prescription, order a refill, or get any reliable info whatsoever using this app. The website is OK, customer service via the toll-free # is OK, but both are inferior to a well-designed app. What gives? I have reported the lack of functionality many times now.
Excellent Service!. I have been so pleased with their USPS mail service! They are my lifeline to receiving all my medications and their staff have been extremely helpful regarding all my handicapped needs. I rely on them for everything concerning my health and hygiene. Thanks to all of your caring employees. We need your services to us immensely especially during this difficult time of COVID-19. All my best to all of you and stay safe.
Different passwords and rules for Web and app????. Your company makes absolutely no sense at all. You may get that your website has to have special characters. But then make it that your app is not allowed to have special characters. Why can’t I use the same password on your website and on your app that makes absolutely no sense and the fact that you can’t do everything in the app that you kennel on the website is also asinine. Because now you make me go from one platform to another, then I can’t use the same password for.
If I could give this app ZERO I would!. Live the customer service at the store! However the app is the worst and always has been! Rewards are awful if you can collect them!(they often disappear the day before they expire if they ever appear at all)...and don’t bother contacting online Customer Service as they know ZERO about syncing the data from actual purchases with their database! Until you give them a low rating they won’t listen to you even if you send them screen shot proof of rewards you never got!
Medicare rip-off with CVS Caremark and Aetna insurance drug Plan. Don’t bother with the app or website if you have Aetna or the CVS Caremark. I’ve had their insurance for over 12 months and can get no customer service. Repeated times requested an insurance card but still don’t have one. The Aetna drug plan is not accepted anywhere but CVS. Cost of my script is cheaper without the coverage and 75% less to with good RX. Horrible phone customer service, actually refuse to give me my policy number. I’m done with this Medicare ripoff!
Poorly functioning app. Notifications are wrong often enough to not trust anything in the app. Two 90-day prescriptions I filled in the last couple weeks show in the app as ready for refill. Pharmacist looked at it and shrugged! I was going to see if I could find out what’s wrong but now that I’ve read some of the other comments I’ve determined the answer. CVS-Caremark doesn’t care that the information is inaccurate. If they did the would not allow such a poorly functioning app into the market place.
Easy Ordering. This was the first time I used the scan tool and I could not be more pleased. I had four prescriptions that I needed and when I scanned the first all I had to do then was check the block for the remaining prescriptions. I truly like this new tool for reordering.
Please ‘un-update’. This used to be an awesome app. Log in, order your scripts to be mail delivered or picked up all your local pharmacy...now I log in...my scripts for the local pharmacy are gone. My past orders for the local pharmacy are gone. The only thing there are the ones we have mail ordered. I liked the convenience of ordering my meds in the morning, checking my app to see if they were ready, then heading over to the store. The store’s automated phone system seems to take 2 days to let me know my scripts are ready. That’s NOT the employees fault. That’s the system. How about we ‘un-update’ cvs.
They only care about the profits !. The worst apps out there and the worst customer service around! I haven’t been able to refill prescriptions on this app for a year now. Since CVS closed some location to up their profits. I get my prescriptions in the same store now for over 10yrs but the app claims that location is permanently closed I need to pick a different location. Someone should let AT&T know that the pharmacy that’s still opened for business closed a year ago!
Much easier. It seems as though someone made this site a lot easier for customer use, either that or it works best on my apple phone. Anyways I like it better than I had used. Trying to post this...not that easy all nicknames are being used...that’s frustrating
Easy and convenient. This was an easy and convenient way to refill my prescription. It would be nice if the payment set-up had applepay as a choice or even if it would scan a card but it only has manual entry. Same suggestion for the email, it should have an automatic fill-in section. I like that I don’t have to create an account to use it.
Too cumbersome UIUX experience compared to desktop functionality. I can’t do many of my critical tasks that are “on-the-go” actions like checking message center responses. Additionally, checking drug prices is entirely too complex. I thought I was clicking the CTA/Done button three times before realizing all I was doing was adjusting the pharmacy location vs. doing the actual searching. Ridiculous number of steps. Even signing in is a second action. I stored my password on my phone so this could go faster! I think there is a lot of room for improvement on this app.
Caremark app is worthless. I have not used the app in years. Logged in today and was told that I belonged to a plan that did not exist and that I had no coverage. Called support, was told that the coverage was fine. They tried resetting my password and totally recreating my account. The same message continues to come up and I can’t go any farther with the app. If you cannot have an app that either works correctly or can be supported by the “Customer Care” team, then what is the point of having an app at all?
Website. CVS is just not making my life easy. Online and in the store. I’m changing my pharmacy in hopes of better and easier service. The website is very frustrating to access. And my closest store are always under staffed and under supplied. I’m older and have chronic conditions and trying to deal with CVS and medications is just too hard. I think CVS had overextended itself and lost what customers need. Another example of corporate greed. I hope you can get your stuff together and serve the people who really depend on you and not your overpaid executives
Don’t buy from here!!!! You will be sorry. Worst place to get your prescriptions. Nobody can communicate very well, I was put on hold so many times, one time was for over 30 minutes. Nobody knows anything and has difficulty in even yes or no answers. I will start using my local hometown pharmacy even if I have to pay a little more, at least I can talk to them and generally to the same person each time. By the time I got tired and hung up my blood pressure was thru the roof. Go someplace else if you can, it just isn’t worth it. After a full week still didn’t get my prescription.
What Gives!. I totally agree with the customers review I just read. This is the most frustrating website I’ve ever encountered. I had another drug mail order company that was totally customer friendly. Used it year after year without having to contact the company. Sorry I can’t say that for yours. Before you mail a RX the customer should be notified what the cost is going to be. This is 2 RXs you indicate you are filling within a week, without a single word what the drug is or it’s price. Not to mention if I go to the website it’s difficult to find the info you’re looking for. Totally irresponsible.
This app is worthless!!!!!. I tried to open an raccount. The message I got was it was blocked so I sent an email. I got an acknowledgement, but never heard from them after that. I looked on the app to find a phone #. There wasn’t one. I looked again a few days later and there was one for the coronavirus. I called that #. She couldn’t help me. She didn’t even understand the problem. She transferred me to their Aetna (my insurer) section. She assured me they could help. Of course they couldn’t. There is no one to help you! This app doesn’t even deserve one star, but this program requires you to give at least one.
Bad start for a new registrant. The search function stops when typing the name and tries to search on partial. There is no way to see the PDL on the phone and the there is no PDL available online either. Online the specialty list never loads the other two lists do and there is no link for the PDL applicable to the benefit for the member ID. This a fairly auspicious start for a program that is supposed to make things easier. I’ll give it more time to completely frustrate me.
Do better.
App delay. It’s ridiculous that after launching the app you then have to bypass the Covid info alert popup and tell the app, you just launched to use, to go to the app! Then you have to sign in. Find some other way to offer Covid info. We shouldn’t have to deal with this delay and extra effort every time we launch the app. And nowhere near as good as the Express-Scripts app I used until CVS took over. So many missing features. Why cant you guys model your app after ES?
Updated version fails to open. I’ve been using this app for years and it hasn’t been giving me trouble until recently. This new update has broken my app. I was still able to use it right after the update, then it got wonky. It was showing that I had no Rx history and nothing in the works, plus it did this while I was on the phone with a doctor that really needed that info. The doctor eventually said they’d just call them. Now the app won’t even open. Lucky me, I get to do everything on their website now.
CVS Caremark. The ease of use, the breadth of quality brands carried by CVS Caremark, all make this the very best way to get medications and Medicare would do well to add this program to its program. Getting medicine sent to seniors insures they have their medicines, reducing problems caused by not taking medicine, or problems caused by falling when getting to a pharmacy. It really would save money for the Medicare program and improve the health of their enrollees.
I have to always make a new account. I signed up to cvs Caremark for my diabetes supplies. The app makes it pretty easy to see my history and when I need to order again. But the last couple months I’ve been having to call them and completely redo my account because when I try to log in it says not a member and it can’t recognize my log in info even though I have it on face recognition. I’m having to call them again because I can’t login. I think maybe when they update their software some accounts get messed up.
Unprecedented poor service. Tried for two weeks to get a prescription refilled. Sometimes calling twice a day. By the time they figured out the many things they were doing wrong I was out of my prescription. I was told many times by there Sr Resolution team and case coordinator that they would expedite shipping. When I finally got notification that the order has shipped it was sent regular US mail and would take a week to get to me. Inexcusable. Will NEVER use them again.
Disappointing System. At times, CVS is good. However, they often say there are no refills left, so my doctor’s office sends it again. But when the next refill is due (90 days), I go without meds waiting for them to arrive. When I call (again), they say there’s too many prescriptions on file so we have to go through them to weed out the original doctor orders. When it works, it’s great but it seems to have a major problem with communication
Refills. The only problem I’ve found with the app is that you can place an order and they give you a pick up time, but occasionally there are issues when you get there. If those problems are evident to the pharmacy when attempting to fill it should reflect those issues in the app. I’ve made at least 4 trips to find this out. Otherwise I live the app.
Order not a survey. CMS Caremark tricked me and asked if I would help with a survey and then sent a refill order to make sure they would get their order and their money even though it didn’t cost me. I never saw a survey and then being invited to write a review at the end of the “I am making sure you place your order“ questionnaire is not a survey.
