ASCCP Management Guidelines App Reviews
ASCCP Management Guidelines App Description & Overview
What is asccp management guidelines app? The ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations for managing abnormal cervical cancer screening results and cancer precursors, including post-colposcopy and post-treatment scenarios.
ASCCP is pleased to offer this app to streamline navigation of the ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests and cancer precursors. The guidelines articles, as published in the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, as well as the comprehensive risk estimates, can be accessed through https://www.asccp.org/guidelines.
These evidence-based management guidelines, initially developed in 2019, came together through a consensus process of 19 organizations. The updated management guidelines aim to:
• Allow for a more complete and precise estimation of risk
• Provide more appropriate intervention for high-risk individuals (detect and treat more precancer)
• Recommend less intervention for low-risk individuals (decrease testing and treatment that won’t prevent cancer and may cause reproductive harm)
• Allow for the future addition of new risk modifiers and screening and management technologies
See https://www.asccp.org/UserGuide for tips on using the app.

ASCCP Management Guidelines Comments & Reviews 2026
Used to work, now crashes after update. This used to work very well, now some combinations cause instant crashing instead of giving recommendations. I wish I had never updated.
Why not update the last app???. I do not understand why the last app was not updated and we have to purchase a new one. I had no idea there was a new app. I assumed my last app was auto updating with the most recent guidelines. I ended up recommending a colpo for a patient that didn’t need one because I was using an outdated app and recommendations changed. Thankfully she did not end up having an unnecessary procedure but this is a huge issue. At the very least, a notification when opening the last app stating an updated version is available would have been nice so we not using outdated information. This is not good patient care.
Simplified patient care. This app is a very user friendly medical app that includes all of the updates management guidelines so I can better manage my patients. It includes prior risk thresholds that predict current and future risk. Like the last app this one takes some wine to get used to, but once you do, it makes shared decision making very efficient.
Not user friendly. I loved the old app! It was extremely user friendly, efficient, and always got me the info I needed. This new app is incredibly frustrating and often ends with “not enough information” or “use your clinical judgement.” I wish I had known so I wouldn’t have deleted the old version and paid the $9.99 for this one. I am part of a social network of thousands of women OB/Gyns that are feeling similarly to me. I am hoping this app will be revised, and fast, otherwise I will likely end up deleting it. It is a shame, because I used the old app several times a day.
Not user friendly. Confusing, challenging to use especially when trying to quickly look something up between patients. I do like that you can put in their previous results. VERY unhappy to pay $9.99 AGAIN. Should have been an included upgrade in previous app. Still remains most expensive app I’ve ever downloaded, now I'll just consider it $20 not just $10.
Glitchy update. Adding dual stain results leads to the app freezing and asking for additional information when no additional information is needed or available. Works better if dual stain results are not entered. Hoping for a bug fix soon!
Love the updated UI. Thank you for the updates. This will help so many clinicians make appropriate follow up recommendations.
Guideline paradigm shift not app problem. I am using the new app and was reticent because of the negative reviews but it works well! It is totally different than before but considering the change in guidelines it couldn’t have been the same plug and play. Agree that it’s stupidly expensive but it’s worth the money to keep my practice current.
Great app!. I really appreciate this app. I’m a nurse and I work in a pap follow-up department so I use this every day and it’s incredibly helpful. My co-workers and I noticed one thing after the recent update, though: y’all spelled “colposcopy” wrong on the “Evaluation of a colposcopy biopsy” button. I mean, come on guys, this is a professional medical organization — use spell check.
Big disappointment. I was a big fan of the old app, but the new one is frustrating. Hard to use, not intuitive, poor graphics user interface.
I wish I had the old version back. New app is confusing to use compared to previous version
Horrible app. This app is BEYOND confusing and information is missing. I am trying to put in a CIN3 for the colpo and there is not an option to pick CIN3. I am jumping all over the place trying different scenarios and I am so confused. To have to repurchase this app (because I could not upgrade the old one) for it to be subpar is inappropriate and DANGEROUS! You all need to fix this ASAP. Or I will just have to use my “clinical judgement” as the told me for CIN2 on a colpo.
So difficult to use. Not user friendly. Things need to be linked to each other. Still reference the old app because it’s so much easier to use and get to a final recommendation.
“Manage per guidelines”. A lot of the algorithms mention “manage per 2019 guilds lines. But they don’t include what those guidelines are. Otherwise easy to use
Not as easy to use as old app. This app is difficult to use and not nearly as clear as old app
Difficult to use. I have been using ASCCP app since it first came out. I loved the previous app. It was very user-friendly. This new app is SO confusing. It is so much more difficult then the previous app. I do not like it at all. I even watched the tutorial. Please consider revamping it. All of my co-workers agree.
$$. The old version was already one of the most expensive basic medical apps on the market, and to come out with an entirely new one, for another $9.99, rather than just updating the old one is really praying of residents with limited financial resources who are just trying to learn and provide good care. It is a great app and helpful, but to have had to pay for it twice in residency leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.
Ap. Ap is not as helpful as last version but prob related to the guidelines being harder to navigate
Guidelines inconsistent with the web app. This is extreme frustrating - the recommendations in the application version no longer match the web-based version (ie have not been kept up to date)!! This has led to inadvertent mismanagement . And this is a paid application too!
Physician. App is not that smooth; does not scroll on my iPhone well; was told there is portion also for DES exposure but not able to find that; a bit disappointed
Good info for patients/chart. I have found the app to be easy to use and, while it has not changed how I would manage the patient, the percentage risk numbers allow for a better discussion with the patient and better data when documenting decision making. Overall it is worthwhile.
The new app is not as intuitive as the original. This app is not intuitive. I prefer the original style, especially since this one is a paid app.
Not user friendly. The previous version was far more intuitive. When you try to start entering in your most recent results and where to go from there, it becomes unclear if it is wanting you to collect and enter in cytology and HPV status from AFTER your last test (eg colpo biopsy or LEEP) or if you are entering in cytology and HPV from BEFORE your last test. Then, if what you have done in the past or what you have been given (such as a new patient you’re trying to catch up on) doesn’t match up with the algorithm order, it just doesn’t even give you any recommendations. I feel like I’m going to have to know the guidelines so thoroughly in order to even use the app that I won’t even need it by then!
Not as easy to navigate. The previous app was easier to navigate. I do appreciate the updated information, however. If they could combine the ease of the previous app with the information of the new app, this would be perfect.
great app, a notification on the old app would have been good!. I use this app daily. i’m glad to see that there are now ways to input previous results. it would be a very good idea to send a notification to all the previous app users that they need to update to this new one.
Not user friendly. Despite following the instructions and tips for using the new app, it’s performance is woeful compared to its predecessor. Fingers crossed there is a revision and an another version becomes available which we can use to provide patient care.
New version not intuitive. This app has great information. The old version was super easy to use. But this new version is confusing, not intuitive and I feel like even after spending a lot of time on the app, I can’t always find the information I’m looking for. Wish they would go back to their older versions with step by step input from screen to screen. And I wish they would provide the references flow sheets from the guidelines in their results. Please improve!
There should be a video on how to use the app. This app is very challenging to use. I am struggling with being able to easily insert the appropriate information to get the recommendations such as: abnormal pap, colp, abnormal pap—get recommendation. I miss the old App which was straightforward and you didn’t have to back log vs move forward.
Update without explanation. The update from last week gives different clinical recommendations with no clear explanation. Did asccp change their guidelines? If not, why is it recommending new courses of action? A colleague who had not yet updated and I input the same clinical scenario into our respective apps and got completely different recommendations… what do we tell the patient?
How do you update app version?. It looks like there are some updates but it has not automatically updated my app. How do the updates get applied?
Poor update. This app is confusing and difficult to use. For example, I put in a normal result for a 25 year old with a normal history. Even then, the routine follow up was hard to see. In fact, just try to find the routine screening guidelines. I think that this app was tested on people with prior knowledge. It is going to confuse new practitioners. ACSSP - get your money back from the programmers - this app is not worth $10!
ASCCP in daily use. This App is one of the easiest to use and I am using it numerous times per day. Thanks
Handy Concise Tool. Great to have instant access to help with quality patient care. Still trying to learn the new app but 5 stars.
Latest update less functional. Most recent update in 2024 much more challenging to navigate- getting stuck in loops when entering information or having entered data under incorrect headings as you progress through the sequence.
Good info, terrible app.. This app is garbage. It doesn’t allow you to advance through the screens when you enter in certain info (if someone is HPV other positive with NILM cytology.) the flow charts should also be more easy to access. It’s definitely an insult to have to pay 10$ for this.
Frustrating.. I hope I am missing something. I wish this app was as integrated as the previous one- this one seems to require a person have both this app for the latest guidelines, and the previous one to have the actual recommendations. Which makes sense from a monetary stand point since the last app was not updated and instead a new app was made- but frustrating from a clinician POV.
Chock full of information. This new app will take time to get used to. It is definitely not as intuitive as the original. My first attempts to figure out where to jump in for a complex patient were completely frustrating. But with some guidance from the ASCCP listserv folks ( some of whom developed the app) it was easier. Apparently ASCCP is going to offer some educational sessions to help with using the app. I recommend it but don’t expect to “get it” on the first try. Since the new guidelines are so “dense” not surprising the new app is too
Update was a downgrade. The new app version is very difficult to navigate in complex patient situations, and is not as straightforward as the previous version. There are also technical difficulties where the app does not scroll appropriately
Can be a little confusing. Not as bad as the other review suggests but can be confusing if you’re not starting from square 1. The app was redesigned to reflect the updated guidelines for screening and management. The major thing this app is missing that was present in the old version was the “next steps” section where you could continue to enter results and it would take you down the appropriate pathway. If this feature is implemented then this app would be great!
Review. This is not as good as the previous app. People want to move forward in time in a step-wise manner like the previous version. Also the language used for the point in time in which we begin entering our previous results in unclear. For example are we following up on current results of a pap or Colpo? Most of the time the are coming to us for a pap or colpo and we want to know are they appropriately scheduled for such.
Figures for Algorithim Are Gone. The iPhone app no longer shows the figures for the algorithm, so you don’t have it to compare to the recommended testing when the app doesn’t spit out a good answer or the clinical presentation is complicated
So useful!!. I use this app nearly every day I’m the clinic to help evaluate results and guide clinical decisions. I love that it has the most up to date information. Would recommend for all clinicians who are evaluating paps and colposcopies.
OB/GYN Nurse Practtioner. When using app it does not clear, I would like a short cut to actual diagram pathways as before. Thank you
Review. This new app is terrible. The older version was better.
Special situation rarely screened patient. This section should possibly be placed back into the update
Needs improvement. This simply does not come the may s as centroid we see patients in. Half the time it is not helpful on making a course of action. Not user friendly
New format is awful. I loved my old ASCCP app. This new one is very difficult to navigate. Also don’t like that it goes backwards from current pap rather than allowing you to follow from beginning of abnormal history. Miss my old one.
Awful. This new app is terrible and quite frankly useless. Almost any “follow up after treatment situation” ends with “no data is available, use clinical judgement”. Even though the algorithm papers would give you a recommendation. I regret having deleted the old app!
Bad update. I have used this app for years. This latest update is terrible. It makes you start with the colpo and make your way backwards and it came to a point in which I had to choose if HPV was positive or negative. Problem was, there was no option for no HPV done. It would not let me proceed from there and was useless. This was on a patient under 30 years old, so co-testing was not done. Ugh
Easier than looking at the most complex spreadsheets ever. But Why not offer as an update to the old app!!!! This was a major selling point last time- yes it’s $10 but at least you’ll stay updated when the guidelines change 🤦🏼♀️

Not complete. I updated the app now I am not able to see all of the options in the drop down menu. My last selection option is AGC… how can I get the full use of the app???
Ob/GYN. Managent app is impossible to interpret. Not helpful at all
New Update is terrible. The new update is horribly confusing. The timeline makes no sense and my colleagues and I are getting frequent different app algorithm answers due to confusion on how to answer the questions.
Update is not working. New update is giving different result despite only supposedly adding dual staining info it now gives different recommendations than prior when no dual staining info is available.
User guide. Will there be an update on the User Guide or the Quick Start Guide for the updated version of the app?
Completely unclear. Does not generate results and is a waste of money- better stick with the flow charts
Review. Fairly difficult to navigate this app. Still nice to have the info.
Too much for too little. $10... Why so pricey?
New update sucks. The new update is not user friendly like the old one. I could have saved the $15 and bought lunch and just used online sources faster and easier than this update.
Preferred old app. The new app is much harder to navigate than the old app! Not a fan
App. Not user friendly and difficult to insert scenarios eg 30 yo with 2 neg pap, but positive HPV (one genotyped 18). Colpo CIN 1. Could not get algorithm for plan
Not intuitive. Not easy to use Not intuitive As a point of care tool it is now useless. Which I had the older version and the old recommendations.
DoctorD. Not useful Not user friendly After multiple attempts to insert the same data 3 x The result read: No recommendations Would not purchase Wish I could get my $9.99 back
Need a better way to search specific management issues. Ie endometrial cells on pap
This new edition is worse and more complicated than the previous one. Not easy to read or understand
New ASCCP app. Worse than the old app. Less intuitive
Hard to use. The last app was much easier to use! It showed the algorithm with each mgmt decision. This one has too many outside links and vague recommendations.
Wow. Love this diagnostic tool. Easy to use, accurate.
Love this app. This is must have for any NP but especially women’s health.
Love the app. Very helpful and accessible.
New format is awful. I loved my old ASCCP app. This new one is very difficult to navigate. Also don’t like that it goes backwards from current pap rather than allowing you to follow from beginning of abnormal history. Miss my old one.
Confusing. I’ve used the old app for years- it was wonderful- and user friendly. Not sure why the society felt the need to change. The new app is cumbersome and confusing, not intuitive at all. Definitely needs more work.
Lacking. Lacking routine screening guidelines
Needs improvement. I loved the old app and how it guided one through the algorithms. This new app is much harder to use. It can be confusing to figure out the frequency to screen. I would love the new recommendations to be incorporated into the form of the old app.
Old app was better. This “new & improved” version is not user friendly and very hard to use.
Update was a downgrade. The new app version is very difficult to navigate in complex patient situations, and is not as straightforward as the previous version. There are also technical difficulties where the app does not scroll appropriately
App Update. App updates have made this amazing tool completely unusable. Please fix!!!
Flow charts are gone.. I’m not a computer or a monkey . Let me see the flow charts to make clinical decisions.
Guidelines. Where are the current recommended guidelines ie: age of paps Age to add HPV How often do they need to be done? Do we still go by old recommended screening?
Missing scenario. In practice for 22 years and ASCCP member for longer...disappointed to pay this fee and find missing in the app the scenario of hpv negative with lack of adequate endocervical cells.
Changing presentation of the guideline. You should notice at least to the paying members that you are changing the algorithm !
New version is terrible. The 10/2024 update no one asked for. It is much harder to enter data and isn’t intuitive.
Terrible. This new app is terrible. The old version was so easy to use. This one is confusing and not helpful. Please return to the old format.
Happy with app. Great for pap advice
ASCCP. It is a more difficult. I was inputting info and was unable to put in the specific results for a patient. Unsure if the pt requires a colpo because inability to input exact results.
Not working. There’s been an update as of Oct 11 2024 and the newest version of this app has many glitches and pathways that go nowhere. Not good!
ASCCP algorithm. Great app. Helps me remember what to do and is a very good patient education tool
Needs improvement. This simply does not come the may s as centroid we see patients in. Half the time it is not helpful on making a course of action. Not user friendly
Don’t waste your money. The new app is not nearly as clear and concise as the original. I am of the impression that ASCCP now recommends 6 month f/u cytology after LEEP but do not see a way to access that recommendation after entering in my clinical scenario. This app needs work.
New update makes app pointless. The update is ineffective and removed the apps step by step feature to determine guideline. Must now look at the flat algorithm, thus making the app currently obsolete.
Glitchy. For multiple scenarios it just loops back to the beginning rather than providing a recommendation.
Review. This new app is terrible. The older version was better.
Old one was so much better. This new version is not intuitive at all.
Pap app. Not user friendly
Not user friendly. I preferred the setup of the previous app. This one is not user friendly at all, especially with post colposcopy recommendations.
Big disappointment. I was a big fan of the old app, but the new one is frustrating. Hard to use, not intuitive, poor graphics user interface.
ASCCP. More difficult to use than the previous version.
Not as good. This new app isn’t as user friendly or clear as the first. Better than nothing though.
Old app better. The old app was worth the money. This one isn’t.
