Just of no use unless you loose your wallet on this. If you are hoping that you can access a world of wine just by downloading, you are mistaken. All you are doing is increasing number of downloads of a useless wine app
Sad that this is "free" when you download but there is absolutely nothing you can do with it without adding the paid subscription. Going with Vivino.
Just be up front and say the app is useless unless you buy the $2.99 library. Or a subscription. Deleted and decided to stick with Vivino.
WS has separate subscriptions for this app $36, WS online $60, and WS magazine $50. Each has overlapping content but different services. Type-in versus barcode or label-scan search is a major drag.
I'm a subscriber to the print and online Wine Spectator magazine...$75/yr for that privilege. Astounded that my membership isn't enough to get me access to even basic info via the mobile app. Very sad.
Horrible. I won't pay for a subscription to be able to search. I agreed to have advertisement of wines and related or suggestions, so get paid by the advertisers , not me the end user. Not agreed, so already deleted and happy using another app.
The updates to this app are a big improvement and there are new wines added regularly. Very useful when I am looking at a wine list in a restaurant.
So I'm growing from a novice wine buyer and consumer to someone who is buying to both drink and age at home. If I had this app a few months ago I would not have been bamboozled by that awe full Vivino app as bad as I was. A must have guide.
This upgrade offers quite a lot of useful data in an easy-to-use format, with an expanded Feed that has lots of additional articles. And they've added more info to the vintage charts; I’d like to see them continue to expand this area. All the reviews you get are quite a bargain for the monthly fee!
There are a few other ratings apps, but this, by far, has the best ratings. Paying 3 bucks is worth it if it means the difference between buying a great bottle of wine and a subpar one.
"Enable this device" button simply doesn't work,, making me wonder what I'm paying $2.99/mo for...
Excellent learning tool that has most of the good wines in a decent bottle shop. It's nice to search and quickly find a wine and a basic taste profile. Well worth the price.
I held off for a long time upgrading to all of the reviews. Long story short, it's the best wine app for getting quick info that will help with your buying decisions. For the cost of a bottle per year :). I hate wasting time in the grocery store or wine shop looking up wine info. It can be slow and frustrating. This app makes it fun and quick.
Which they don't tell you until it's downloaded and the "free content" is nonexistent. mb people would subscribe if they had a trial run, or if it wasn't such a ridiculous price.
This doesnt do anything other than give a few locations and recommend buy or drink from an entire region. Free app give no specific information and even though you have a magazine subscription, the real app is not free. Don't bother.
This app is invaluable when shopping or dining out. The search is very intuitive, you can search on any part of any attribute. Love it!! TomD.
Pointless app unless you pay a monthly fee.
Really enjoy the convenience of looking up details and scores of my wines as well as new wines from anywhere.
It keeps showing errors! I have not been able to check any wine ratings. What's up?
This app rocks! Now I can look up wines from the list when I’m in a restaurant or wine store. Reading the review/description of the wine really helps me decide if it’s the right wine to go with a dish on the menu, so I make better wine selections. Love the new iPad version.
