Terrible controls. I used to love this game. This version just makes me angry. The controls are ridiculous, and there aren’t even clear instructions on how to navigate the game. If you’re looking for some 90s nostalgia gameplay, look elsewhere.

This is childhood for me. I used to play this when I was young. It brings back some old memories. This version is a little different. The controls are hard to get used to, and the bots on the campaign are insane! I cannot get past level 22 because they have like targeting systems that land the grenade right next to you. It’s useless to resist. Still fun to play with friends, but they seriously need to nerf the bots.

Nostalgic but clumsy. I used to love playing this game on the computer. But on the iPhone it’s just straight up clumsy. The controls are extremely inconsistent as are the physics. Sometime when you go to hold left or right to move left or right it jumps, or moves the aim of the weapon. It would be nice if there were virtual buttons for controls rather than just holding left or right or tapping the worm etc. I’ve given up on two different versions of this game now because I keep dying by my own hand due to clumsy controls

Classic worms, what true worms fans really want. I've been playing this game for years and it's a great game. It's classic Worms, which is what everybody wants. The newer games are just kind of weird, I don't know why Team17 can't just make a new version of this game, except better. Just make this exact game with more classic weapons and more customizable multiplayer and I and many other fans will gladly give you our money. Latest update seems to have fixed everything. Good job guys.

Solid title, but get the new one instead. I've bought copies of Worms for PC, PlayStation, Dreamcast, Nintendo DS, Xbox Live arcade, and now iOS. One thing that buying games from Team 17 has taught me, is that they don't do a great job on the first version of any Worm game they bring to that system (for example the first version of Worms for the DS, Xbox Live, and iOS were not good - but their sequels were very solid). Worms 2 is in that same vein. However, Worms 3 just came out and I'll probably get it since it is supposed to be designed specifically for touch screen. This version is solid, but has some annoyances that are grating (ex. You can only play on the device that the game is started from (bad for those who own iPhones and iPads), and very finicky touch screen controls). Overall, it is a good game, though. But if you are looking to pick up a Worms game for your Apple device, now is the time to pick up Worms 3.

Love It!. I love Worms! This is a great game, people complain about easy difficulty NPC's making impossible shots, its true but once you get far enough in the game you learn to beat them, without doing your own impossible shots! And really the controls aren't bad either, although they take a little getting used to. It is a hard game, but it has lots of weapons and plenty of different strategies to use, if you arent ready for some difficult challanges then dont buy the game, but i love this game. I have an ipod 4g and the game runs fine for me, so if u have a 4g and your ready for a challenging fun game then dont hesitate to buy for 1$! EDIT: oh and there actually is a pass and play mode, but it looks like some people are having trouble finding it :P

AI ruins the campaign. The Ai makes the game no fun. I quit out of pure frustration. It’s not challenging, it’s impossible. It would be so easy to fix which makes it more frustrating, just put a +\- 10 or 20% variability on each shot. Done. Fixed. The game would be playable again. I loved playing this back in the day against my friends but the single player campaign basically took all that love right back.

Not working. The game keeps throwing, cant even start the game right know. Awfull :(

Solid investment. Just like the original minus some weapons and controls. The controls can be hard to use compared to the computer game because of small keys and restrictions but otherwise a great game.

Decent but needs work. First of all, to the people who are complaining about the lack of instructions, spend 2 minutes starting from the start screen going through the menus and I promise you'll find the How To Play instructions. I just bought the game and played it a couple times already, and read the gameplay instructions. Some of the controls are intuitive and some are not or have precision issues. I can't seem to jump or backflip when I want to. I would recommend a special jump button along the bottom and expand the left/right movement regions. The scrolling content boxes are barely usable, especially in the gameplay instructions where only 2 lines of text show at a time. They look in-style of the game, but it feels like usability was sacrificed for design. I don't remember all the weapons and I haven't found a way to see the name or how-to-use for the weapons during gameplay, which I find mildly frustrating. Considering this is a port of an old game, I'm not terribly disappointed in the lack of new stuff, but I don't feel they quite got the game in sync with the medium. They definitely need to do some testing on average users and make some fixes. However, this was one of the best Worms games and I'm glad that I can play it again without having to dust off my Pentium 3 tower.

Bad on iOS. I bought 1,2,and 3 trying to find a version that actually works all the way. CANNOT get custom game settings to actually take place in game! Save your money. DL on pc and save your money here

One of the very few games I rate this highly. Always among the favorites I come back to over and over again. Wonderful game, challenging campaign, and highly replayable. The “best time” is a particularly smart feature as I am always happy to try and break my old record. Well done, Team17!

Was fun on a computer but.... This was a great game on a computer hut the controls were difficult on iphone 13. Plus it hasn't been optimized to use the full size of an iphone 13 screen. Unfortunately in ios 17 the app crashes. I just bought the game so Im putting in for a refund.

Total Bull ****. Somehow the computer, even on the easiest mode, has perfect aim even including wind conditions etc. plus, the controls are **** so you end up accidentally jumping into the water right when you’re about to win. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS GARBAGE GAME

Best mobile worms game, frustrating controls at time, overpowered AI in campaign.. This is the best worms game you can get on mobile. I tried worms 3 while it was free, and I wasn’t a fan of it one bit. I haven’t played worms 4, but from the similar looks of worms 3, I highly doubt it went back to the worms 2 formula. The animations, looks, and feel of the successors changed, but not to the better imo. It gave me the bang for my bucks, because it already provided me with hours of fun through both its single player and local multiplayer. The gameplay heavily emphasize strategic planning, but at the same time, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The worms tend to give funny one-line remarks and reactions throughout the round. Team customizations are plenty, and the weapons in the game are hilarious, ranging from exploding sheeps to the infamous holy grenade. The controls leave more to be desired, as I sometimes find myself accidentally jumping off a cliff when I didn’t mean so, or the grenades don’t function properly, as they do not show me the throw range when I hold down the trigger button, yet it immediately falls in front of me as soon as I pull my finger from the trigger. It doesn’t happen too often, but it happened enough to become a nuisance. Despite its age, the game looks gorgeous, and some maps provide a really cool soundtrack. It’s a shame that there is no online multiplayer. The only way we’re able to play with others is either through pass and play or through devices connected to a local network. My biggest grudge, however, is the campaign itself. Beating the levels at the beginning is easy and do-able. I was able to finish four out of six stages in the campaign, but now I’ve been stuck on the last levels of stage 5. The game is extremely unfair to the player by then. They give us just 2 worms against 10 enemy worms with godlike accuracy. The AI is simply OP, there’s no way around it. Some rounds they’ll go full stupid, shooting their shotgun or bazooka on a wall; the next round, they’ll shoot a bazooka that passes through the narrowest of places, factoring in wind effect, delivering a hit with pinpoint accuracy that either deals enough damage to kill your worm or throw your worm off to a nearby mine or water to finish it off. And just to add salt to the injury, the game shamefully plugs in their in-app purchase to buy their golden donkey statue after you lose, which literally states in its description that it's there to help you beat levels that you’re stuck on. To me, this comes off as a, blatant, cheap, cash grab, taking into account that I already PAID for this game, and I already PAID for those extra map packs that were somehow NOT included with the game (which I PAID for); and yet here I am, facing a dilemma of whether or not I should pay for the THIRD time to circumvent their unfairly, handicapped, matches in the late stages of their campaign. I’m all with helping out developers that offer me great products for my wallet, but this is not it.

Horrendous Controls. Cool graphics and quite nostalgic, however the gameplay on an iPad will cause you nothing but painstaking frustration. When attempting to utilize jump and movement controls, simply close your eyes and hope for the best. Having any expectations beyond that should be left to those who are emotionally masochistic.

Disappointed. My friend and I bought this for something to play while I'm on the road only to find that I can't use my LTE connection to play multi-player. I certainly wasn't buying it for the average single player expertise, I feel like I wasted my money.

Fantastic. Only needs one thing. The only thing this game needs is a more active online multiplayer community. I'm not sure if the game is like global multiplayer or just on the same network. Offer incentives for playing multiplayer

Almost perfect. Classic game, brings back fond memories. Good replay value, but fine controls could use some tweaking. In particular, the “jump” action often triggers accidentally, with catastrophic results. (4.5 out of 5 stars)

I want to play it. I want to love it. But…. The controls are beyond my comprehension. I spent a whole turn trying to do a simple jump. And another trying to figure out homing missile mechanics. Thankfully now with Worms 4 you’ve made it easy, but it’s a shame i can’t enjoy this nostalgia successfully. If you add an onscreen dpad and more buttons, i think it might get a lot better.

3D. I remember playing worms 3D on my dads computer and I notice these games are on the phone so I think of buying the 3D game, till I realized that the worms 3D game wasn't out in the App Store, in all seriousness, worms is the best game franchise EVER

Problems with local multiplayer. I am trying to play local multiplayer with WiFi and it doesn’t show any games we create games make it public and try to join and were on the same WiFi but the game doesn’t show up

Great Work. Really appreciate you guys releasing this on iOS. Not quite as good as the original from way back when. But, coming a close second to it is nothing to cry about. The only thing holding this gem back from my five stars is the tweaks needed in mulitplayer. I fully understand their is only so much optimization that can be done when 3g connections are involved. That being said try and make it so the "waiting for players" dialog show up as little as possible. It is ok if it takes some to figure out, I will wait. Plus chat at least in the lobby if not in the game as well is a MUST. It would make it much easier on those trying to find connections with say other iPad players over wi-fi. Or to avoid playing with people on 3g connections if one so desires. Moreover though the chat would just make the experience an easier one for everyone for what I hope is obvious reasons. So, work on better real-time internet play and chat. Thanks for a great game guys and not letting us languish with just your first worms iOS entry. GREAT WORK. Oh, forgot, see if you can make custom styles possible outside of private games. Thanks!

Best. Ever.. Games like this are rare these days, you pay a small fee up front and can play all day everyday without blooming ads. Have played this for years on Amiga when i was a kid and now I play on the iPad with my boy, living our best lives! Minor criticism is the network game is buggy but rarely need to use it

Great game. This is game maybe similar to the first one but it does have the opportunity for me to create my own game schemes while the first one was so confusing to make your own game schemes this one is great as the first one though

Best iPad Game. Worms was my favorite game for the iPod touch. Worms 2 is my favorite game for the iPad. Single player is just alright. The AI isn't very smart, but it has a high accuracy with the bazooka, the weapon it uses most of the time. The challenges can keep one playing for a long time, although it is a bit annoying when the AI can't get harder so you lose a worm. There is a way to close the app to get re-do on that turn, which really ought to be fixed, even though many times it was the only way I could beat some of the harder challenges. Where this game shines is multiplayer. The iPad is the perfect platform for pass-n-play and Worms is a great game to do it with. In addition, Worms 2 features turn-based multiplayer through game center. In addition to online multiplayer, Worms 2 added custom formats, a feature left out of its predecessor. My only complaint is that the HP bars don't disappear like they did on the first game. Oh, and having to unlock weapons was stupid, but it was done quickly enough. There are plenty of extra weapons to keep you busy, and power distribution seems pretty fair up to the concrete donkey which you never really use. All in all, this is a great buy for anyone with an iPhone 4+ or iPad 2+. I would recommend the less-memory-intensive Worms to anyone with an older system, but if you have a more recent one Worms 2 is the way to go.

I like it but.... Heavily favors CPU’s and weapons seem to randomly do less damage at times.

5 minutes of disappointment. I remember loving this game of PC years ago, but 5 minutes of struggling with the touch screen controls made me want to smash my iPad. Hugely disappointing.

Great game but asynchronous multiplayer is broken.. I bought this game with a huge amount of excitement when I found out that asynchronous multiplayer had been implemented. Yeah! Worms With Friends! But then there was a strange bug where commands weren't being sent properly, and as a result the games I played tended to come out of sync almost immediately with how they were on my friends' ends. Weird stuff starts happening, like watching your opponent very deliberately place dynamite on his own worms, or firing a full-power bazooka point-blank into a wall. The gameplay is excellent, though! It's an extremely well made port of the computer game to a device with no physical controls. Room for improvement, though, includes... • Fix asynchronous multiplayer, first and foremost! That is probably THE major selling point of this game on iOS. • Fix the fact that a single Game Center account can't sync games across multiple devices (i.e. if I start one asynchronous game on my iPad and one on my iPhone, each game is only playable on the device I started playing it on) • Maybe allow renaming of worms for asynchronous mode? That'd be swell. tl;dr great game but the asynchronous multiplayer needs some serious fixing, and soon.

Not there yet. I love worm games but this one is just not there yet. 1. Unresponsive controls. When you press a button it should press. But in this game every once in awhile you cannot move or fire and it gets really annoying especially when you are in the middle of an attack. Another thing I really hate is when you end up jumping to your death when just trying to move. 2. Glitchy terrain. When can you shoot or throw things though terrain? I have lost I cannot count how many matches this way by either the enemy shooting though the terrain or my grenade going right though it. 3. Glitchy and missing sounds. Not all sound effects play in this game. When you do something and it is dead silent it just ruins the experience. Also certian weapons appear to missing sound effects like the holy grenade. 4. Extremely repetitive voices. Can we get more varienty. It appears half or more of the voices were left out. 5. Please add a restart level option in the main menu. I hate having to exit all the way back to the main menu then load up again. 6. These are annoying but not as important as above. Compression for the game so it does not take so much space. Faster loading times. Please change the horrendous app Icon. Add volume levels for the sound.

Garbage. Controls don’t react the way they should and instead of realistic gameplay the opposing team just magically makes every shot perfect. Waste of money.

There is room for improvement.... I've been a fan of the Worms franchise since the classic "Worms 2" released in 1998. And while this incarnation is still quite enjoyable, two things drag down the experience for me... First and foremost the controls feel rather cumbersome on an iPad. Basically you move your worms left or right by holding your digit down on the left/right two-thirds of the screen, jump by tapping on your worm, set trajectory by dragging the reticule up and down, select a weapon by tapping on the bottom-left icon and then on your choice from the pop-up menu, and fire with the button in the bottom right. You also can move the camera by dragging two digits across the screen. While I suppose this setup works well enough on the smaller iPhone/iPod touch, since everything is in immediate reach, it demands frequently adjusting your grip over the much larger tablet. Had this been an iPhone-only app then I wouldn't complain. But since it's designed for both I wish an alternative control scheme was available that kept everything within reach on the iPad. The second issue for me is level of control you are given over the game. While there is still quite a lot that can be customized, it isn't remotely as flexible as earlier incarnations. My biggest gripe here is that you can't change the number of worms per team; you only get four.

Needs work. Decent game. Controls need work. You spend 20 minutes working a campaign map and then your character jumps when you didn’t touch anywhere near it. Right into the water. Also it’s impossible to exit the app quickly. Could be great, but needs work.

Focus on armageddon. I've gotten at least 10 people hooked back in the day on the PC armageddon and dreamcast Armageddon versions. This app has potential to reach many more - so don't stop developing and adding features. Bring back some classics like low gravity and the training programs. Also the battle ax, mine strike, the magic bullet, homing pigeon, carpet bombs, aqua sheep, that sudden death mode where the water starts rising, missions, crate spy, double damage, etc. your audience can probably handle as much variety as you can pack in here. Keep this app alive! Add more in game stuff or something. I still have 150 gold coins and nothing to buy!? I don't know about the multiplayer problems, but solve those too! You can make some money with this one, team 17.

Crappie. I buy the full version and it don’t even allow me to play, it goes to load, I get to the menu click on one thing and then it closes the game and give me a message “ error unable to load game “ I want a refund on this crap!

Mixed impressions. I have loved worms since I irst played it in 2004. I still love it today but I am a little disappointed with its latest mobile app because there are many bugs in the system- from the rifle being off from the guidance system, jet packs malfunctioning, the homing missiles irregular in its trajectory even when there's no wind involved, etc. in the hard category, it's ok for them to make those unbelievanle shots defying the laws of physics sometimes, but what is frustrating is when you make a very careful, well-calculated shot and then the program turns it into a lousy, inaccurate shot. The first version is actually more accurate than this latest version. The reason I first fell in love with this game is that in the beginnin, the app allows tou to coose the settings you like from what language (american, british, scottish accent) to use, the weapons are all accessible. the new version only lets you use the ordinary ones. the special ones I think you need to buy. All in all, I still love playing it. Just wish the player has more options and coices.

Controls are utterly frustrating. First of all, I love this game. I’ve loved it since N64 and cannot begin to count the number of hilarious memories I have from Friday and Saturday nights with my mates after the pub. BUT. This version has almost caused me to fling my phone across the room about 50 times already. Luckily, my clearer headed self has kicked in beforehand and I’ve thrown something unbreakable instead. First of all, the computer teams are more accurate with grenades, shotguns, and bazookas than a military smart bomb; often firing them across the entire map, through the tiniest crack in the landscape, whilst perfectly factoring in wind speed, elevation, and shot strength. Secondly, the touchscreen controls will leave you seething with anger after your worm leaps straight in to the water instead of performing a backflip. This is guaranteed to happen when you have almost completed a match, rather than at the beginning where it wouldn’t bother you so much. I’m wondering if a Bluetooth controller would work better, so I may give that a try. I want to enjoy this game so badly, but the controls make me want to smash stuff.

Asynchronous play is a joke!. Wow, I've been a loyal fan buying every version of worms since the beginning and lately its been nothing but disappointment after disappointment. Waited soooo long for Asynchronous play, but as it turns out its just another cheap ploy to milk us for more money. Once again released prematurely. Was bearing through the fact that their are 0 options and only works for 1 on 1 games. Still convinced like 5 people to buy it so we could play, only to discover you can't finish a single game without it getting out of sync!! How hard could it possibly be to send over matching data when its not even realtime. It always worked fine for the DS version (worms peak). So not only to you lure people in with features that don't work, but every time I open the game (that I paid you money for), I get the same ads over and over. Even after I bought worms golf (boring) I still get asked to buy it over and over again. What happened Team 17?

Best Strategy Game around. Excellent game, excellent graphics, great controls, the best variety of weapons (all of them), no problems, great game modes. The only thing I can say bad about this game so far is that the campaign is too long and therefore a starts way to easy!

Helps. Dear team 17 this is the best game ever but I've got a problem on the forts part I have chosen the castle but when I go to play it on forts it turns out to be a chicken fort as I said help fast and make more forts on an update plz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good game. Needs work on Bluetooth as sometimes u can't see what they are doing and it just says waiting for players quite annoying.

Fantastic. I dont know what people are complaining about the multiplayer works great (on wifi) and the game doesn't crash only iPad and iPhone. I love worms and this lived up to my expectation more levels more weapons and just great fun I am currently on mission 22 on campaign challenging but not impossible. I recommend this to everyone awesome

Endless fun. Strategic game of modern chess, with rewarding variable of weapon use. Thoroughly enjoying, addictive and challenging on many levels. All good except for the recent upgrade - which is more a downgrade due to never ending pop ups for GAME CENTER authentication - I don't want to register for game center - so stop bugging me about it. I paid for this app so i should have the right to be left alone. This seriously detracts from a wonderful game hence 3 stars rather than 5.

Crash problems. I can make teams but cannot play any games without it crashing! Please fix, because I'm sure it's a great game. I don't want to rate down because a small problem like this doesn't deserve it. :)

Does not even work. This app, the first time I went into it I thought my brand new iPhone 5s was broken. The buttons weren't working very well at all plus when I had enough of it (couldn't even play a game) I found I could not get out of it, I couldn't lock my phone, when I clicked my home button it did absolutely nothing and neither did volume or the mute/un-mute switch. I could still press things in the app like settings and play game etc. except I could not get out of it. Sorry but first impressions count and that was not a good one. Please fix it and I may play your game.

Great game but crashes. Crashes a bit now, even after resetting my iPod, it crashes. But it us alright sometimes (3rd Gen. 32GB iPod touch). Can you put in multitasking support. It takes long to load, so multitasking would be great!

Good as a number 2 or standalone.. It actually surprisingly similar to the last game. It presents the same controls, same style you know and love. New weapons are a welcome impliment, as well as the same old ones from before. Works great on iPod Touch and iPad. Bit of a hefty price, but there is a lot to be played here. Blutooth or wifi games (only running off the same router, no online play). 50 "missions", which involve beating computer teams which get progressivley more difficult. Better than expected port from PC to touch screen.

Love It. I love this game so much - but can you please make it compatible with the new M1 macs? You have to use the trackpad for everything and it would be awesome to be able to use keyboard controls to play

Crashing and movement ruin a great game. This would be a great adaptation of the game I used to play in the late 90's. Unfortunately it crashes a lot, and although you it handily stores your game whenever you exit the app, when you reopen it crashes in the same exact way. For example, an enemy worm will jump and pull out its weapon, the game will crash, then you open it up and the enemy worm will jump in exactly the same way and pull out its weapon only for the game to crash again, ad nauseam. And I have a brand new iPhone. Like Groundhog Day, you can't get passed that, so your campaign and progress is ruined. Additionally, the movement controls are fatally flawed. You go to walk, and the worm jumps, often to its death. You go to jump, and it walks. It's impossible to know which its going to do, making it extremely frustrating and pointless because half the time you're too scared to move in case it does the wrong action. It's all very unfortunate because otherwise it's a fun and addictive game. The creases just aren't ironed out for the phone version.

Unfinished. Crashed often. Full of bugs. Two completely different weapons are described as "the most powerful weapon in the game" in the weapon descriptions. Trying to turn your character around to move them towards the edge of the screen often causes them to jump to their death. Way too much waiting to move, no option to skip passively watching sequences. Projectile weapons sometimes pass through terrain like it isn't there. As far as I can tell there are 2 or 3 weapons in the game that you're never even given access to. Unacceptable port of a classic game.

awesome. I'm a major worms fan but it will be cool if u could add custom maps but what I mean by that is u can draw up ur own maps and add things to it that would be great but  stars but please consider also I can't find forts at all it's really annoying

Bug!!!!. I have a bug where the fire button and the weapons button are gone. If I press the bank space where the buttons should be it still works I just can't see the buttons If you fix it I'll change it to 5 stars

Controls are terrible. Team17 should made the game to allow user customize the controls. Currently it is so easy to accidentally move or jump accidentally because the touch control is not ideal for this game. Movement should have dedicated buttons and jump also or double flip. Also the targeting is hard as well as it is not accurate and tend to snap wrongly. There is no targeting for grenades. It seems the ai have 95%accuracy in hitting so not fair unless if the game shows the trajectory line but it doesn't.not recommended unless u are a fan or until the control are fixed.

Bluetooth is bugged. Me and a friend bought this game to play together, but the Bluetooth multiplayer is bugged. It takes about 30 seconds to show what the other player has done, and half the time it doesn't even show the move they made. Be warned - Bluetooth multiplayer is no fun at all. We wasted our money on this game.. *edit- I can't even connect with players online through wifi. After about 10 attempts I finally entered a game with someone, then it crashed after about 20 seconds...

Make it easier. I am at lvl 23 in the campaign and i just cant get past any level without the golden donkey because the AI is too smart even at the beginning and the enemy worms, even opposing teams, all attack me and ignore the ones closest to them. Make it easier otherwise ill never get enough coins for all the weapons P.S. i kept using golden donkey since lvl 13.

Awesome game. For those people who grew up playing worms (I was one of them) you will absolutely love this game! Still so addicting and entertaining that I was having so much fun in just practice mode and it never crashed. The multiplayer both online, bluetooth and local is excelent as it has been with the original worms games. I would recomend this game to anyone!

Awesome. The best game EVER!!! Please add make a map like Worms Open Warfare 2 for Nintendo DS and please fix the glitches that occur when on 'hotseat' when you use Mark for Death. Keep up the good work and Should have more frequent updates.

1/2 star rating. Rember worms as a kid ?? Rember how good it used to be ?? Take it from me this game is dumb not even worth the $1.99 I paid for it don't waste your time even considering this. Highly bias computer, randomly gets more hit points than you useing the same wepon even sometimes barely taking any damage at all.. Stupid ridculious shots with pin point accuracy from ages away poor effort team 17. Multi-player lagg and useless.

So Much More!. So many weapons and customisations to choose from - i havent even used them all yet! And its only crashed once on my Touch 3g. A must buy when they fix the bugs.

Where's the "worm select" button?. Worms is a terrible game if you have to play the worm the computer randomly selects for you. The original worms 2 let you select which worm to play, making it a vastly better and more tactical game. Why's that option not here?

Awesome. Soooo much fun I used 2 play this a lot on pc but multiplayer can b pretty laggy even just over wifi with my bro it always says waiting for other players but I'm sure thatl be fixed in the next update! Awesome game!

Review update. I gave it 2 stars in my last review, it's now been upgraded to 4. Most of the issues with playing over wifi have been resolved but there are still instances (although rare) where both players are stuck "waiting for other players". Bluetooth is still just as bad as it was before. Need to add some form of network play that doesn't require the internet. Other than all the above, the game is very playable and incredibly fun. It plays just the same as the console versions from way back. Just a few more tweaks on the multiplayer side of things and it could be worthy of 5 stars.

Almost unplayable. When it works the game is brilliant. The controls have been tweaked perfectly for the iPad. However.... And this is a deal breaker.. The game is plagued with massive crashing issues. To the point where playing against the AI is almost impossible as you find yourself just hoping to pass the level before the AI use one of the weapons that trigger a crash. Fix the crashing and it would be 5 stars. A perfect time waster. But until that's sorted I find myself putting the iPad down angry that it's crashed again instead of satisfied at completing another match.

Reselcet worms Update Please!!!. In previous worms games when it was your turn you had a option to select any worm in the area in your team before you move or select a weapon, now i noticed that in worms 1 (HD) you couldn't do it aswell, So i thought that worms 2 this one you could select other worms but couldn't and i was very dissapointed but the game runs fantastic and would love if you's could just fix this problem please it would make the game run a little bit easier for me and everyone. Fantastic. 4 and a half It's a very well built game and for such good graphics no lag. Although I don't crash out as much as others are saying I do crash out, out of 100 only 15% of the time if I had to put it in numbers. You should also fix multiplayer because every time I win a match players quit and I don't get the stats for the win, You should make it if one player quits the game the other wins unless it was due to disconnection no one wins.

Good start... Very bad ending. I've always loved the game Worms and brought it for my iPhone last year and had no issues. This version however is constantly freezing during the game so you can't see the opposition's movement and when the game is close to finishing it freezes completely. I had to reboot my device to leave the frozen game as it wouldn't end even after closing the app. As I said I love the game worms and it was always so smooth but there are some serious bugs in this version that need to be fixed before I would recommend a friend to buy it. Disappointing considering the price too. To the creators - it looks fantastic but please fix these bugs.

Amazing. The game itself is awesome. Haven't played anything else on my iPod since I bought it. I would never give it 5 stars though as long as the price is that high at $6. Way to expensive.!!!!

Excellent. I am more then happy with this game, but the class act is some of the reviews, blaming the game for bad connections and crashes, it's more likely their fault or a fault in the device. The game runs like a breeze and has not so much as lagged, let alone crash. Sweet graphics and control layout it actually efficient. Those complaining of "impossibly perfect" bots are just horrendously bad at worms. It's not a stomp, it's a challenge, L2P. And there is pass and play, and it's very satisfying. Well worth the pittance Team 17 is asking for.

It's ok... Needs to be fixed tho. Love the game itself, but after paying nearly $6 for it I was a bit dissapointed, and so was my friend. Why? Well the multiplayer function is flawed at best. Everytime your opponent has a go it takes aaaaaages to load and most times you can't see wat they have done, it just says 'waiting for players' or watever it says and u miss all the fun. When it returns to your go u see the end result, that's it. Just generally glitchy and poor performance. And yes I have an extremely good Internet connection and an updated iPhone 4 so it ain't me. From reading the other reviews it appears I'm not alone. Clearly the creators of this game should work harder to satisfy their customers. Very simple.. happy customers = more profit.

good game but... I have owned a worms game before (on a regular phone) and I really enjoyed it. However when I downloaded this for the first time I instantly played quick game easy to get the hang of it. Needless to say I got destroyed thanks to the incredible aim of these "easy" bots. Also I had a tough time getting my head around the strange new weapons (super sheep and blowtorch etc.) and feel maybe a short tutorial is needed. Even just to run us through the weapons and basic movement (took me a day to figure out to jump)

Mabye The Best.... I'm sorry to hear that others have crashing issues... Mine has only crashed a few times, when worms have landed in the water, oddly. Other than that, this is the best app I have found for my Itouch so far... I love it! There are a few spelling errors around the place, and the game does not tell you how to unlock the last 5 levels... a map drawing feature for this game would be awsome, even if it were a seperate app, I would buy it. Thanks to Team 17 for another awsome hand-held port for Worms!

Good start but needs allot of polish.. Has great potential but... Uses to much memory and still takes ages to load. Need to fix AI. AI is to random and not well matched to the levels. Multiplayer over wifi won't work at all and blue tooth lags terribly. Need to be able to accelerate game speed when playing computer. A rushed release. Get the polish out.

ZOMG. Yes this is very good!! Nice game, it's especially good for the new touch screen platform, however I do experience some crashes on the iPad. Some reviews mentioned a wobbly landscape on the iPhone too...hope they read these reviews so they can maybe fix the bugs in it. Classic! PLEASE PLEASE FIX!!!

Would be a good game,,,,,,if........ This would be a brilliant game, but the controls are super hard to work out, the first time I launched it it took me half an hour just to work out how to start a game. When it got to playing it I gave up. Other han that its a good game but I don't think it's worth the price tag it's been given.

Annoyed. I got this game expecting to play against friends over wifi and bluetooth, our internet is fine however u cant even watch what your friends move is. Also while playing the game constantly crashes and its very annoying. Fix this now. Also the single player campaign is ridiculous they hit you nearly 100% of the time

Great game still !. Still an awesome game even tho its missing certain aspect of its old pc version comp is quite challenging and can get frustrating with the lack of air support bombs and arms in later stages, but the multiplayer mode makes up for it with easy setup up of a game either LAN or pass on console mode, just good fun between mates !

Could be 5 stars but.... This is Worms, a game I have been playing for years on PCs until sadly the last computer I had that would run the old version I played died. So it was exciting to see the game on the Apple store so downloading it was a no brainer. In many ways it is is similar to the old game, in some ways different and better (the AI is much smarter for example which makes the games much harder) But all this is more than countered by the fussy nature of controlling the worm (I've lost count of the number of times a worm has moved the wrong way at a critical moment when I've accidentally brushed the screen) but as others have noted it is the almost impossible task of controlling the worms at the edge of the screen that is so frustrating. Improve the sensitivity of the controls and make them consistent over all the screen area then this game could get the 5 stars it deserves

Don't accidentally get Worms 1 - this is better in every way. Worms 1 should be removed from the store. This one has (working) multiplayer, universal for iPad and iPhone, and generally works quite well. Bluetooth multiplayer can be slow on occasion - and the controls of this aren't great for touch. Fix and add content. This game is among my favourites, but there's so much wrong with this version it blows my mind. Fix the crashing, fix the overpowered AI that can throw a grenade that will ricochet off of 25 objects at perfect angles, add more voices, add the weapons from the PC version, add the full vocabulary of voices. This is pathetic.

Screen dimensions are wrong when trying to control worm. This app hasn't been updated in over a year, and doesn't work correctly on iPhone 6 / 6+ or later. Taps don't happen on the screen where you expect them to happen. The bottom portion of the screen (whichever side depending on which way you hold the phone) is dead, and the touch targets are shifted accordingly. Don't buy this until they fix it.

Please Add Virtual D-Pad. I love this game its my favourite game of all times. However the controls on the IPad are tricky. Ive been playing Worms 3 and noticed its has a virtual Control pad. It would be great!!! if you could add it to this one.

WOOOORMs. It's a worms game, what more do you need, Armageddon being the best version. That being said I've been playing them since I was a kid and I'm 30 now. Team 17 always have great games. Don't worry team 17 I'll make sure my kids love them as much as me you just keep em coming.

Crashes all the time. It would be a great game..if only it worked...it crashes all the time in campain mode and then you loose all of your progress in the level you're playing. Network game is even worse..Bluetooth games don't work and wifi games work once in a while but crash as soon as you receive a call or text or anything for that matter, even when you don't answer or touch anything. The dev team really need to put some work in this app...seems like they completely stopped maintaining it. Very disappointing.

Still no fix for rampant multiplayer bugs!. Love worms and this is a great game, but I bought it to play multiplayer, and it's almost completely unusable. It crashes constantly in the middle of games, and "waiting for players" screens make games take 10 times longer while you wait around and stare at your screen. Same behavior on Wifi and BlueTooth. Where's the fix T17?

Best game! Classic worms!. Awesome game, controls are difficult at first but once you play a few games it's great! Love playing against friends on my iPad! Campaign mode is hard- would be nice if the AI had limited homing missiles- but you can get around the homing missiles if your clever!

Great game. Can't get enough of it. I played worms as a child then forgot about it for a couple years. When I heard that they made an app I freaked out. It's a awesome game for iPods. Multiplayer is great, single player is great, the settings are customizable and you can even make your own levels and rules. If you liked worms on your computer, you'll love worms on your iPod.

OP AI. Ive been stuck on level 29 for a year and a half. Do you know why? Because the opposing teams can ricochet a grenade off of 300 things at exactly all the right angles so it lands on top of your head and stays there, blowing your full health worm into the water. I highly doubt any human being on the planet would be able to pull this off.

Being honest, pretty cool.. If you’re anything like me and love most of the worms games, I would recommend this game. But maybe not on mobile. The only gripe I have is the controls, I mean seriously. Best game ever made! No joke!. At first I thought switching from a controller/keyboard to the touch screen would be a stretch. But wrong was I because in the years it's been out, it hasn't changed. :) addictive. Not in the world of Warcraft (spend money to keep playing way) but in the strategy. Like a bizarre game of chess you often play with exploding sheep and holy hand grenades. I play plenty of games and to this day.... WORMS is my all around favorite.

Still has bugs to work out.... I love the worms games and played since the days of windows xp and have owned almost every game they've put out. With that said the game is like any worms game you've played before with a few exceptions. The touch controls just aren't as precise as they should be and playing with other people across a cellular network leaves too many games unfinished because the game data can't be "sent"... As a result this feels like it was one of three things: "rushed" "a cash in on the popularity of the App Store" "an incomplete game that should have had more time spent on it."

More bang for your buck!. I love the Worms games, and this one is one of the best. The old version lacked customization options but they have fixed that since then and now it's better than ever! From making new teams and customizing the color of worms, hats and worms voices to making the player map just the way you like it. I would definitely consider putting this game on one of your top gaming apps!

Disappointing multiplayer. With a game franchise like this I expected much better from the local networking. Bluetooth works but yields poor results within 2-3 feet. Turns are lost on the waiting players side, which mostly defeats the purpose of playing head to head. Also we were not able to successfully start a local WiFi game to compare. Wy have the feature in if it won't work? Also, the 45 time limit for normal games is a bit quick (and not configurable). The physics are clunky too. Fun to play when it works right, but lots of bugs that should be worked out. Did the developers sacrifice functionality in older devices (ipad 2) for the newer hardware?

Awesome. Such a fun game, one of my favorites. I use this app all the time. I love the nice game play, the vast weapon arsenal, everything! Worth every sent. Plus, I'm a sucker for games with some type of survival and endless mode. It even allows you to home our aiming skills in practice, so this thoroughly satisfies me. Sure, the controls could use some touching up, but they quickly become second nature. I strongly recommend this game. Between a $5 cup Of coffee and this, I'd have to choose this.

So close...yet so far to go. I want to give this app a good review, I really do! Unfortunately this all is so buggy it's almost impossible to play, especially when it comes to multi-player via Game Center. I have two other friends I regularly play against and I would say over 50% of our games never finish do to errors such as "the game data is corrupt and the game cannot continue". This gets EXTREMELY frustrating when playing heated games. Also, for months I constantly have a small 1 notification on the app even though I have no pending games. Lastly, I paid for this app, quit harassing me with nuisance messages trying to get me to buy your other apps or like you on FB whenever I open the game. This is extremely annoying and makes me want a refund. Fix the bugs, take out the ads and you'll get 5 stars.

Bad Update. This update contains user tracking and slaps a button on the main screen for more advertising. Be sure to disable user tracking by going into the settings menu, then scrolling to Worms 2 Armageddon, then uncheck "Usage Sharing". It also wiped out my game save data. It's the little things like this that make you lose faith in a company. I understand why Team17 does this. It's to see how large of player base each game has, so they can invest resources according. It also brings up the fact that iPhone games are not as profitable, so they push ads to advertise their other games. Then again it brings up the question. Why do they want access to my Contacts? No feature in the game requires the frequent access to my contacts, not even multiplayer. So why do they want access to it in the first place? They also push ads even if you own the advertised product. The same can be applied to Worms 3 on iOS. I died a little on the inside because of this update. By shoving ads down your throat, tracking each user and collecting their personal data from them, and by erasing their saved data for simply updating the game.

Fantastic game, could use an update!. This game always worked great on iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. Good graphics, good gameplay, worked on a large range of devices. 👍 However, when using this app on iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus, this game's controls have a glitch. When you try to select a weapon for example, you have to press the button to the left of it to get the weapon you're trying to select it. It's like the game is up-scaling correctly but the control overlay got scaled up inaccurately.

Worms is awsome!. Worms is a good game, and it was fun when I played it on IPhone 4. But once I downloaded it on IPhone 6, it was the crappiest game I have ever seen. I try to customize my worms, I can't move the selections backwards, and can't choose what I want until I cycle through all of the selections. When I try to press exit or select buttons, it doesn't work until five minutes ago. I can't even move properly, and when I try to move right, I move left. I try to select the weapon options or even the pause menu, and he gets himself killed. For all those who want to play on iPhone 4/5, I rate 6 stars. For iPhone 6, I rate 1 star. So for now, I will rate 3 stars.

What's with the non-English add on?. Worms is a classic, and while this is no Worms World Party, it'll do the trick for now. I just have one problem: the game feels like its missing things - and it absolutely is. There's a Battle Pack add-on (via in app purchase) that adds all the Worms 2 locations and weapons that you remember from the old computer version. You'd be hard pressed to realize this, though, because the button and description are completely in Swedish - or Finnish - or something. Point is - if you buy this, factor in the cost of the Battle Pack. The game is sort of lame without it.

Bad port of PC game. My initial impression is poor. It doesn't feel like an iPad game, doesn't control like an iPad game. Two fingers to drag and scroll? That's just wrong; it should be one finger! All the other controls are not typical and it's necessary to read 15 page help section to get started. And even in the help the controls are bad. Scrolling the text to read it feels all wrong, and it takes really large swipes to go to the next page. But then you want to start the game...Click the start button and wait 15 seconds while the screen slowly draws itself. It doesn't make any sense. World of Goo and Angry Birds feel much faster. And for all the time spent on setup, the graphics look low resolution, pixelated. I want to like this game, but it does everything wrong at the start. I could give it more time, to figure it out, but there are so many good games on the iPad that I'm not sure I want to waste time learning the lousy controls of this mediocrity. The graphics are a

Some Issues.. The only real problems with this app stem from the multiplayer. Every public match I've played has the opponent using glitches to utterly destroy me before I even get a turn. Another big qualm I have is the fact that if I do turn based multiplayer at all, turns take forever because when I get the notification, it takes a minute for the game to reload the level with all of its obstacles and grass and what not, and not being able to skip that really irks me.

Asynchronous multi player. This game sat on my phone for months not being played until today. The update that added turn based online multi player is just what it needed. At least for me Worms has always been about playing against friends. The implementation before today just was to hard to ever get a game going. The fact that I can do that now and take my turn when I have time and play 16 games at a time just moved this game to 5 stars and it's sure to be played a ton. I have experienced a couple bugs but no show stoppers. They have been good about updating the game so I have no doubt they will fix them.

WORTH IT!. I love how I can pick this up and take this anywhere and still play worms. But they are missing the old lady & the bow & arrow. And in hotseat there needs to be a 4 player battle. Not 2 vs. 2. Really? Anyway ppl say the controls are hard... NOT REALLY!(at least for me) The thing is ONCE YOU TOUCH THE WORM it will jump. Fun game. Very, very, enjoyable game. However, there are still things I am confused about. How do you get the flying sheep to eventually come down; it doesn't seem there any instructions for this in the weapons menu. Also, It seems like you can't change which direction you are aiming, left or right,with certain weapons. I have to eventually change weapons to change directions and then change back. Otherwise, great great game

Not worth the money. If your looking for a great classic that's takes you to the 90s it does that well for single player mode. For having to pay $6.00 for an App I would assume that all the parts of the game work. Unfortunately if your looking for a good Multiplayer game as of right now with the current version, Wifi and Bluetooth capabilities are not possible at all. Will not connect to internet or other devices and no way for the user to try and fix the issue. Overall game play like I said is awesome but favors the computer making it frustrating and the multiplayer mode doesn't work. Needs to be seriously fixed.

Love the Game, but hate all the glitches!. I love this game and play it all the time, but for some reason it gets glitchy at least twice a week if I play it every day. What I usually have to do is get out of the program, shut my iPad off, wait a couple of minutes and then turn it back on. Once I do all that the program starts working again. I don't think it's the iPad, since this is about the only app this occurs with, but who knows. I love the game so much, however, that these glitches do not keep me away from playing all the time. I especially love the turn playing that is now available!

Not quite perfect, but still a blast. I miss a lot of the features I had in world party for pc, but to have worms on my ipad is pretty sweet. Sometimes it mistranslates double taps as taps or vice versa, and that's annoying, but it's usually accurate. Some of the weapons aren't explained very well. And I don't know why, even though I "bought" the weapons with my campaign coins, I can't use them except whenever the campaign grants me one of them. Why can't I use them in other game modes?? Do I have to find them in crates or something? Not clearly explained. Except for those things and the lack of most of the WWP customizations, this is still an addicting game. I'm currently stuck on campaign number 25, trying to figure it out. This app is a lot of fun, and for a great price.

Async play rocks, controls need work. Asynchronous play is the reason I bought this and it is great! I hadn't play worms for over a decade and it brought back good memories. So much fun! 5 stars for asynchronous play. The controls get 3 stars. It's not very intuitive to move the worm by the touching the edges of the screen yet tapping the worm for jumps. Double tapping for backflip is easy to get wrong. Placing girders is so frustrating. Having arrow buttons would even be better than the overly-clever touch gestures. Even after playing a lot and knowing where the controls are, I still have to think way to much about controls.

Current version. I used to spend hours playing this game against my friend on PC. I like this game but the controls are very finicky. I always seem to have issues zooming the map. I'll be trying to zoom it but instead end up moving my worm. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally done a jump or backflip too. Using the jet pack is very difficult. I have not used the ninja rope yet but I'm sure that's even more difficult to use than the jet pack. Also, the enemy worms sometimes do some absurdly accurate trick shots using the wind or bouncing grenades just perfectly. I seem to remember them doing things like that in the PC version too though.

I love worms but..... Starting fresh.... I love worms armageddon for the computer it was freaking awesome. This is sorta the same but controls are a bit difficult. I've been playing for 20 to 30 minutes and I've gotten a lot better but this game requires hours of game play before your going to master the controls even if you were amazing on other platforms. Worth the $3? Sorta. Universal application is really nice. I wish more games would implement this. Amazing game on the PC. This will take me a few hours of playing to get where I want. Does this game have enough gameplay to get that far in? I think so.

Broken multiplayer. The new asynchronous multiplayer is broken, there is no other way to put it. You either end up with the majority of your games being stuck in your game center as "user has resigned" yet the game never disappears, or you have games from 5 days ago that your opponent apparently is no longer going to bother with. Both are issues because you are limited to the amount of matches you can have in multiplayer, and there is no way for you to get rid of or remove yourself from these unwanted games. There are also games that crash repeatedly at the same point as the other players turn ends, rendering those games also stuck in your Gamecenter and unplayable. I have never played a multiplayer game on iOS this fundamentally broken. Please get your act together Team17.

Great Classic. This is a great remake of the classic Worms: Armageddon. It works as advertised on both my iPhone 4 and iPad. It takes a few seconds to set up a game but I suppose that's just a creative way to disguise the loading. People who rate apps without restarting their devices shouldn't own iPhones(they shouldn't breed either). I wish it was GameCenter enabled, and had retina display graphics but the game looks great, functions flawlessly, and is worth the money. Thanks for a great game Team17. I'd also like to thank you for making it universal and not being stingy like most companies. Your a great company that makes great games and I'll do my best to promote.

Great game but... The a.i. Is impossible... I would understand later in the game making impossible shots but in the 3rd round they are already making those shots... Also even if the computer has an easy shot on a worm on another team they would pull one of those impossible shots and get me anyways... Also the super sheep is glitchy... Sometimes it'll turn and continue to turn after I've let go and then the other times it doesn't turn at all... 5 stars as soon as those are fixed though

Complete online multiplayer experience?. We've been waiting for an online multiplayer experience forever now! It's been over a year since the original release. You promised online over wifi and 3G. Yet all we get is wifi, and we have to pay for an entirely new game that only keeps a millionth of your promise? That was your excuse over and over in your forums and Facebook replies. It is difficult and different creating an online multiplayer experience that plays over a cellular network, yet we can only use wifi. If it weren't for the my3G app I wouldn't have even purchased this game. Also, what happened to the asynchronous gameplay that was promised? All that being said I still love the game and am grateful that I can play with my friends all over the globe, I just wish Team17 would care more about the p(L)aying customer, and less about lining their pockets with dollar bills. It was supposed to come in an update and be what you promised.... The servers are also up and down more than the worlds longest roller coaster. Could we maybe add textchat to the online games? Trashtalking is where it's at!

Love it. I am a HUGE fan of Worms and I'm happy that my favorite Worms game is on my mobile phone so I can play wherever I want. There are some bugs that I'm not happy about, like the sound turns completely off even when my phone is off mute and the volume turned all the way up. I have the same problems some other people have, like enemy worms using a shotgun. They shoot one shot, jet pack, parachute or skip-go then fire the next shot (but not after using skip-go). I can deal with these bugs though but they could cause problems with other people. I love the fact that it's mobile so I'm gonna keep Worming on ;)

Multiplayer is awful. I never liked playing worms alone but multiplayer in this version is just awful. We tried to play with two IPads over wifi, the other IPad could not find the game I created. We tried to play over bluetooth - it was terribly laggy, it would constantly freeze to wait for the players and most annoyingly I would end up with games where my worms could not move - they were only able to shoot and use other weapons, but not move or jump. My opponent's worms would move just fine. With the same two Ipads we have been playing RealRacingHD over wifi with no problems at all and RainbowSix both over wifi and Bluetooth and they have worked just excellent. So I would blame the worms game and not the IPads.

Horrible. My family has always loved these games and even own this version on the Xbox 360. So when my dad and I saw this app we bought it for a laugh on the go. By the title of the review you can assume it didn't go well. I use an IPhone 5 and my dad used his 6 plus. The controls on the six were out of place and didn't do what you want. I couldn't use it on my five either. the controls are difficult and you fight with aiming while looking around the map. Plus connecting to other people is horribly difficult and frustrating. Me and my father were massively disappointed in this app and went back to the basement and played the Xbox version instead.

Fun game. App crashes frequently.. I loved playin worms 2 when it originally came out. Finding it on the App Store triggered some nostalgia so I bought it. It's still a fun and challenging game to play and I enjoy it. However, the port over to iOS apparently didn't go smoothly for the developers, apparently. I can't get past level 19 in the campaign as the app completely crashes every time. The game also crashes frequently during regular play as well. $5 isn't a lot of money but when you can't play the game without it crashing that seems like a cash grab and a disservice to the customer. Still fun overall. Hopefully they will fix issues! But I don't think it is too likely. I won't buy any more games from them.

Best game ever!!!! But that update was frustrating.. First off I would like to say that I LOVE THIS GAME!!!, however the last update caused some problems. Oddly enough it caused some sort of bug where if you try to look around, the screen keeps automatically returning to your worm making it almost impossible to scroll around and find your enemies. If this was intended to improve the game... IT DOESN'T. Also for whatever reason, when I'm spotted by a sentry gun it tracks me even if I peek back behind a wall(it shoots through the wall and i lose my turn)???

Controls are problem. I didn't have any problems with crashing but the controls to the game are maddeningly terrible, it is difficult to pan or zoom the camera and even more difficult to move the worms who have a tendency to jump when you don't mean for them to or not jump when you want. I have always really enjoyed these games and the graphics are spot on and game types and such. However, the game just jumps you straight off with barely any tutorial. I probably wouldn't be that upset with some of these issues but considering the high cost of this game it is simply unacceptable

Love the Game...Hate the Glitches. Do not buy this game if you plan on turn based play with your friends over Bluetooth or WiFi. 98% of the time you can not see your opponent's move, only the annoying "Waiting for Players"box at the top of the screen. This glitch effectively removes the fun of watching your opponent carry out the trademark wacky attacks that this game offers. The concept is great and has always been great. But this problem is annoying beyond all reason. My son and I BOTH wasted $5 on this game due almost exclusively to its multiplayer promises. Then it didn't deliver. Tried resetting iPhone/iPod, closing all background applications, even turning off all WiFi sucking electronics in the house to no avail. The best part is having emails ignored by the developers. Very poor. This will remain a 2 star app until this problem is fixed. Sorry but it's REAL annoying.

Not what everyone thinks. Ok, most people say they hate this game, now I can Kinda see what they mean by that but this IS A GOOD GAME! I will be honest the controls takes a while to get used to if you never played a worms game before I suggest you go check out the controls in the settings, and if you have played one before, still go check out the controls, also check out practice mode first, The game is really fun, I found myself restarting and never getting board, I haven't tested the online play. But I think it's worth it

Good, but...... Having several issues with the asynchronous games. Already (just 2 days of playing) 4 of my 16 open games are stuck, when I try to open them it says that the other player has resigned but they are still listed in the "my turn" section with no way to delete them. Another game is finished but won't go away (also still in the "my turn", so there's is almost a third of the open game slots taken with dead matches. It won't be long before all of my 16 open game spots will be filled with ended games and games that won't open, making the online portion completely useless. A fix is desperately needed for the online mode. If this problem gets fixed the game would be great.

Good, but not great. Having played Worms 3 first, I was spoiled by the good control system in that game. The controls here are very frustrating - I have had many games ruined by a jump that I intended to be an aimed weapon or a simple sideways movement. Also, the latter stages of the campaign are extremely difficult. I don't mind some challenge, but I am routinely getting blown away after just 2-3 turns, whereas I beat the other levels within. 5-10 tries or so. It feels like you just have to get lucky to win, which isn't awesome. The gameplay is fun, but it's not as good as Worms 3. Buy that game instead and have fun!

Solid version, very fun to play. I like the action and the multiplayer mode is a nice touch. The campaign is fun and also quite challenging. There's also tons of customizing you can do, from creating new landscapes to changing the weapons' properties. The controls are quite good given the limitations of the iPhone (as opposed to a keyboard and mouse). However they could be a little better and that's what kept me from giving this 5 stars. Overall, a very solid port of the classic computer game. Worth the price.

Please update controls for iPhone 6. Always loved worms, and used to play this app on my iPhone 4s. Since getting the iPhone 6 with more storage space, I've been installing lots of old games. Unfortunately, Worms 2, which worked fine on my iPhone 4, no longer seems to have the touch-detection aligned for the 16:9 screens, and the bigger phones (6 and 6plus) make it even worse. This problem makes it impossible to play a game where precise aiming is crucial. Until the game is updated for the new screen sizes, it's useless to me. I paid for it a while ago so I'm not upset, but it would be wonderful to be able to play it again.

Great game but has issues. I love this game and used to play it on my computer in college. I was happy to see it in the iOS platform and have enjoyed playing it. However, the ability to navigate your worms around the map and zoom/ pan definitely needs work. More often than not, a double tap to make the worms backflip will send them jumping off a ledge. Also when using the ninja rope, I find that the worms get stuck far too often on other objects and instead of being able to place them where you want, they often become the victims of their own destruction. Overall I think the game is great, but I wish the navigation issues could be fixed.

Multiplayer Connection is Terrible!!!!!!!. Game is OK. MULTIPLAYER NEEDS MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR WORK!!! it's always disconnecting and lagging and "waiting for player" comes up and I can't enjoy the user interaction while in game play. It's OK I bought this out of nostalgia with my friends and only wanted to use the multiplayer and compete against each other but over the wifi or Bluetooth. it is way delayed and can't see the other players move. OK for single player aside from the AI being crazy good! TERRIBLE MULTIPLAYER!!

Almost perfect. This game would be amazing if the multiplayer issues were fixed. Over wifi and Bluetooth games disconnect if the app is 'minimized' or any other action on the phone is done such as sending a text. On top of that the game constantly gets stuck at a stage where you must wait for other players while they take their turn and you get stuck viewing this error message. Although the real time game play is one of my favorite features of this game, it needs some serious work. Another minor improvement that I'd like to see would be to allow custom worms teams in online turn based games so you can enjoy the names and customizations you've chosen.

Okay. It's a pretty good game but there are a few things that need to be fixed. It freezes from time to time, and it loads very slowly. Also there aren't very many instructions on how to play the game. For me this really wasn't a problem because I already knew how to play, I simply had to learn the different controls, but for someone who has never played, it would take a lot of wasted time and patience to try to figure the game out. *now it won't even let me play the second campaign game. It gets half way loaded and freezes. I have to restate my iPod to even get back to the main screen. This really needs fixed otherwise, it does me no good to play.

Love it!. Are there really that many people that don't restart their devices? I bet these are the same children who complain when an app goes on sale and they paid full price... Grow up! That aside, you can expect everything you love from worms in this version. The game play is good and all the added items make this a very cool sequel that's reminiscent of the original worms Armageddon. Definitely worth the $5

Been playing for years. My brother and I played this on PC way back, and to see it on a mobile platform is awesome. Physics were a little different than the first, but overall totally worth the buy. One of my favorite games of all time, downloading the 3rd one now. Tips: Strategy is key here. Attack as many worms in one turn as you can, sacrifice worms when needed. Master the ninja rope it will be your best friend in all situations, you can even get good enough to swing, let go, and launch another one in mid air. If your skills aren't top notch yet, always have a worm in hiding, an ace in the hole if you will, he'll come in handy.

Newest update still buggy. I'd rate this game a 5 if it wouldn't be for the glitches that are now present in the game after the latest update. Y'all finally got the turret to work and maybe fixed some issues with the bigger iphone6s plus. However, not sure if I just have to get used to how the game should be after all of this time... or if the controls are still glitchy with larger screens. Time will tell. Also, it seems that the worms moving, jumping, ninja rope, worms dying, warning sounds of running out of time, and many other sounds are now missing from the game. But, at least that dang turret is back up and running!

Glitches. I just wanted to say that I love this game, and I also love playing together with friends. It doesn't fail to make us laugh or fill us up with excitement, but in this version there seems to be glitches/bugs in the multiplayer such as not being able to see the HUD (Not a settings issue) including the target circle. This includes not being able to switch weapons and not being able to aim. Don't get me wrong, the game's still playable but when these glitches occur or take place it forces us to restart the game. (iPad 3: Multiplayer - Bluetooth)

Wonderful!. What would make this better is Facebook integration--do you developers realize how many more people would play this if they could easily see which of their Facebook friends have it and play against them? Also, it's a little confusing why it takes up so much space for such a simple game and it doesn't even support full retina to remotely justify that. Despite all this, the game is insane fun and thank you for your hard work! More please :)

What is wrong with you?! This game is awesome.. This game rocks. The back-to-basics controls make this game so much better. And the different weapons and game modes add to this games ability to become addicted to. People may say that the controls are difficult but I was able to figure them out in an instant. This game is way better than the most-highest-top-ratedest :) game out there,(Angry Birds). I personally would recommend this game to anyone out there. Because, it's simply put, the best.

Great game. Mediocre port. I've been playing this game since it came out for dream cast years ago. The game is fantastic. The ios version is obviously not as well cared for. Multiplayer has bugs that have not been addressed in at least 2 years. How about making Bluetooth and wireless games sync correctly so they are playable??! It was possible on the PC 20 years ago, not sure what the problem is here on ios. If you don't want a game to be great why release it to the public? If you wanted to release a mediocre app with no updates for bugs support you did a stellar job team17.

What's the point of an Easy setting if it's not easy?. I'd give this 5 stars except I've been stuck on level 31 for 2 months. On EASY. The computer worms never miss. I'm convinced they made it this hard to frustrate you into buying the cheat. What's the fun if you have to use a cheat to win? Speaking of the cheat, the computer used it on me when I was about to win! That is just wrong. There are some minor bugs as well where the computer will shoot through a solid wall and kill you. But those could be intentional I guess. Another way to get you to buy the cheat.

Lame facsimile of the PC version. First off, it just plain isn't worms: Armageddon. It has new weapons but, more importantly, some of my old favorite weapons have been taken away. (Bow and arrow, worm switch) The new napalm strike is pretty much useless and stupid. The interface is poorly designed and hard to use. There isn't as much variety as there was on the PC version. (Not as many gravestones to choose from etc. all the little details that make worms so unique are lacking.) If they wanted to change the game they shouldn't have named it worms Armageddon. They should have called it " worms Armageddon lame facsimile that we threw together to make a few bucks" not impressed.
