Great, but not flawless. When I first heard mention that Team17 was working on an iPhone/Touch Worms games I had doubts how well the touch controls would work for the game, but those fears have been set aside. All things considered the game controls very well. It's the classic Worms I've known and loved since I first played the original in the mid-90's. It was also nice to see some of the classic stage themes return from Worms 1 & 2. One thing that could definitely see improvement is the camera-tracking when a long shot is made. I noticed that when zoomed in - it doesn't even have to be all that close - the camera seems to lag behind a lot, so you often can't see the actual impact unless the game is zoomed out all the way. Suffice it to say, it becomes a bit of a nuisance having to manually zoom each time just to see whether you made a good shot or not. That quibble aside, it still is wacky fun. Looking forward to wifi multiplayer down the road. Good job, Team17!

Worth the wait & the money.. I have been waiting for this port since I called Team 17 back in November (about a day after I got my iPhone), wondering where the Worms port was. I have been playing this game since the original Worms United on DOS. I have played it on every platform. PC, PS2, XBOX, Wii, and now iPhone. It's great. I don't notice a lag and I am running on the iPhone 3G - but I did reboot after installing. The controls are simple to navigate and I am really glad that they kept the 2D WWP look & feel to the game. Thanks Team 17. My iPhone is now complete! only one issue. When I rebooted, the logo on my worms icon switched to an application that I deleted. Any ideas?

Game is bad. Nothing like the original PC worms.

Love this game but it's not the original.... I used to play this game on my pc ALL the time. It is absolutely amazing!!! A couple things are missing and maybe one day they could add them. The supersheep however it might be hard to control on the iPhone. The super bannana. I would love to be able to customize which weapons I use like the original... One more thing this game is just not the same with the computer only attacking me I would love the more random gamplay where it's a true free for all. I truly have missed playing this game so I fell in love as soon as I saw it. A definate 5 stars from me for how similar to the original they have already accomplished!

The games cheats.. More often than I expected, the game places it’s worms in more favorable positions than your worms. I notice that it spreads its own worms out one clustering your worms. This is a turn based game. I also notice that in more than 50% of the time it gets the first shot giving itself the advantage.

WOW, WORMS. BEEN WAITING SINCE IPHONE WAS INVENTED.. Been waiting for this one since day 1, and the best part is that it delivers without disappointment. Very nicely done all the way around. Sure there are very small things that may change through updates, but nothing is perfect the first time. This game is very close to being right the first time though. All the people that are complaining need to learn how to play the way the game is designed with it's controls and quit crying and blaming the developers for their inability to perform or play this great game. Thanks for bringing this to the app store, I have been wanting to make this game myself every since the iPhone came out, but knew I probably could not. Thanks for making it the way I would have myself.

Bad UI ruins a fun classic. I loved the PC game, and this version is fairly true to it except... the UI is fairly terrible. I can’t count how many times I’ve lost a match because a worm decided to jump while I was trying zoom or pan the map. It’s particularly fussy if your worm is near the edge of the map. I’ve also had worms get stuck on graphics a number of times. It’s a shame, because this used to be such a fun game. Maybe if they allowed you to use a (Bluetooth) keyboard to move, pan, and zoom (as in the pc versions) it would be a better experience.

A Very Solid Entry into the Worms Franchise. Update: (1.01) Team17 has fixed many issues others have been having with the new update. The controls are MUCH more responsive, and the jumping is more precise. Also, the ability to zoom in further is a huge plus. Bring on the MP! First of all, do yourself a favor and do not take the review below seriously. Worms is a very solid title, with excellent visuals and great gameplay. What it lacks in features (online multiplayer), it will be getting in a future update. The visuals are very reminiscent of the recent Xbox Live and PSN releases, and I'm surprised at the amount of detail they were able to get out of the iphone (apparently, 3GS owners will be getting additional visual features in an update). The controls are really the only thing that need getting used to, but lets face it, Team 17 has done a remarkable job considering there are no actual buttons on the iphone. At $4.99 you really cannot go wrong, and anyone that is a fan of the Worms series will be happy with this purchase.

Disappointment. I'm disappointed, but I'm not sure what I expected. I was introduced to this game on XBox360 and absolutely LOVED it. However, the gameplay on xbox takes full advantage of the controller layout. Unfortunately, I don't know if there is ever a way that this game can be run successfully on the iPhone. I'm not a fan of many games at all that require a "virtual keyboard" at the bottom of the screen -- iDracula is a rare exception, it's great! -- but this just isn't a game that seems to conceptually capable of taking advantage of the full touch screen. The User Interface is simply awful, but I have no realistic solution as far as how to improve it. I don't know what to say...the iPhone/iPod Touch is a revolutionary gaming platform, but in the same sense that wii bowling wouldnt be any fun on a PS3, i just don't think worms will ever be an enjoyable gaming experience on the iPhone. Bottom Line -- I may have wasted $5, but it's just $5. Check it out if you must, but I don't expect to be enjoying this game any time soon.

Good but needs polishing.. Seriously... if you port something, port either Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, or WWP. But don't port the newer stupid versions. The game runs amazing on the 3GS, but very bad on the 3G. I have been waiting for this game for EVER, and I'm a little disappointed. I still like graphics of WWP or previous versions much more than the new ones. This game should deserve 5 Stars, and I'm sure the developers have put a huge effort into it, but it needs more polishing. If it runs amazing in computers from 1997, why doesn't it run well on the iphone? Like they've said, it could be a blockbuster, but needs polishing. I will certainly give it 5 Starts in the future if I see improvements. However, thanks Team17 for finally making this game available, I've been waiting for ever.

App Problem. Challenge # 45 about 4 turns into the match the app will crash every time. Needs to have the Simpsons voice package like the computer on a side note

Not even worth $2. This game initially behaves like the original PC from the 90s. But somehow the controls are less controllable, less accurate, and more prone to do something other than what you’ve intended than the original. And if you attempt a multiplayer combat, expect EVERY computer player to be targeting you exclusively. This game was fun on PC. On this, it’s not even worth the $2.

Worst controls. I’ve lost so many games due to faulty controls. You CONSTANTLY accidentally make moves that compromise your turn. This is a direct copy from the pc version. Does not work in iPhone. Don’t waste your money

I don't get it.... Why do people say its laggy ALL THE TIME? I have an >iPhone 3G< and it runs smoothly. Every now and then there is a SMALL lag that is sort of understandable. I give it 5 stars because it is a very good game (please buy it, I don't really buy games, just check my reviews if you can too, I only review very few games) and the controls may be "eh" at first, but once you get used to it, they seem ok. Very good job Team 17! I always been a fan of the Worms series :D Edit August 6, 2009: Dislike.. WTH!? When I double jump, it doesnt always double jump, I always lose some lives because I try to double jump. Fix It!! Also, I don't know if anyone else notces this, but everytime I play and decide to pause it for awhile, it crashes!? Is it suppose to do that? From 5 stars to 4 stars because I just can't always double jump and sometimes I end up losing a worm...

A bad porting to iPhone of the excellent WORMS. Sorry Team17 but I'm very disappointed, why ? The game it's SLOW : lag time at every action, even in menus . You would need to optimize the engine and the use of IPhone's memory. The graphics are totally inadequate to the iPhone's screen , everything is so small (even with zoom) that a gamer need magnifying glasses to see what's happening. And the overall quality is just average. The controls need to be fixed : unexpected actions occur sometimes even if the gamer is just trying to move the camera, and due to the micro-dimensions of the worms , accuracy of actions it's very hard to achieve. The original WORMS is one of the GREATEST GAMES ever, this porting is immature and doesn't leverage the potential of the iPhone. I hope that the Team17 will optimize soon the game because this could be a blockbuster, but as it is now it's not better than others similar games around.

Awesome! Although needs a few additions for perfection.. I have alwayas loved worms, and the fact that it has been released on iPod is awesome. The current version is great and brings all of the preceding gameplay from the PC onto your protable iPod. Here are some additions I would recomend: - Replay: In the old worms, when you caused a certain amount of prodigious damage the game would replay your move. - More Worms: Just like the PC game, you should be able to have up to 10 worms. Therefore the battles are longer and require strategy. - Worm Placing: You should have the ability to place your worms at the beginning of each game. - More modes: Challenge is great, but there needs to be a real campaign - New modes could be, Defend the castle: Your worms start out in a castle - Bluetooth or Wireless play: Multiplayer is great, however constant passing back and forth can become a bit aggrivating. - Rankings and a more extensive Team Customization: Your worms squad should be more extensive. You should have rankings, possibly online rankings and more team customization options.

Very Good, but some minor things.... I love that worms has finally come to the app store, and the game feels just like the other games in the franchise. One thing that was definitely possible in this game was the lab (like from Open Warfare 2) because there are microphones on the iPhones and on the new headphones (and maybe alternate controls for those using the iPod Touch 1G or a 2G without new headphones). Those features added a lot of depth to the game. Another thing that I was disappointed to not see was the custom weapon sets and the level editor. The level editor was really good in OW2, so why not include one? Custom weapon sets allowed me to disable different things like banana bombs, but still keep unlimited shotguns. Also, round times could be set and turn times could also be set. Adding these things along with the 3.0 features in the next update (or maybe the second ones for the third update) would make this game worthy of being a Worms game.

Not like the original!. Looks like the original computer game, which was one of the greatest! But the controls on the phone are totally screwed! This leaves the game basically unplayable. If they would just fix this issue it could be amazing again!

Needs a patch quick!. I decided to get Worms for the iPhone instead of my Xbox 360 because of the portability. But now that I've played it, it still has a way to go before it's really playable. Here are my major concerns: 1) The controls are horrible, which probably has been mentioned in other reviews; you jump when don't mean to jump, especially in zoomed out view, and the crosshairs are sometimes stubborn to move. 2) It's hard to scroll through the screen to find your enemy, pick your weapon and fight with the crosshairs in the limited amount of time. An option to jump back to your worm quickly, or more time would fix this. 3) The AI is ridiculous, even on Normal. They pull off bank shots and chains like no other. It makes it so difficult and unrealistic that it gets boring and frustrating fast. 4) And of course, Internet play would be much appreciated. I look forward to the updates!

Crash on multiplayer games. This app crashes each time I try and play against another user. I have switched phones and still has problems.

App shuts off randomly. Can’t tell you how many times the app just shuts off while I am doing challenges. Then I am forced to start over. I want my 1.99 back or whatever this cost me.

Pretty bad. Constantly crashes. All progress lost.

Bluetooth. I love the game so does my gf but we seem to never be able to connect to Bluetooth to play against each other Fix this please

Good game but... confusing controls make for surprisingly steep learning curve.. Game has the feel of worms, with a large assortment of crazy weapons, and an endless supply of combat worms. However, movement, jumping, weapons, and map navigation (e.g., zooming in/out) controls seem confused, e.g., often get movement when trying to navigate. The game is also very small to view and with difficult map navigation, that's a frustration. So the learning curve is steeper than expected (still haven't learned when it's OK or even possible to navigate the map). Beware: no sound if ring switch is off (unlike Clock, where alarms go off despite phone ring switch). Odd choice. Suggestion: add notice of such at Options->Sound.

Ok but outdated. Loved original on PC, but keeps freezing on iPad. NEEDs update

As good as ever, one problem. Love time fan of the worms games since the beginning. Great game for this platform, however, I reached challenge 41 and half way through there’s a glitch that shuts the game down every time, which is frustrating as I’d love to keep playing. If it weren’t for this it’d be 5 stars.

I'm impressed!. I picked this up hoping for the best despite some mixed reviews, and I must say I'm glad that I did. The gameplay is the classic Worms formula and is as fun as ever. The controls, though not perfect, are fine in my opinion. Also, I have seen many complaints of lag and there is an easy solution: RESTART YOUR IDEVICE!!! I'm getting tired of seeing negative reviews due to lag because people refuse to restart their iphone or ipod touch. The sound and graphics are both top notch, the graphics being some of the best on the iphone to date. Also, the sense of humor in worms is great, and that leaves the complaint of the lack of online multiplayer, which will be adressed shortly. All in all, worms is a great game. Once online is added, it will become one of the top games available for the iPhone

Good, but not great. Overall it's pretty enjoyable. The only complaint I really have is how the worms are moved. Too many times I've tried to zoom in or out on the screen, and the game misinterprets that as me trying to make the worm jump. This has cost me several victories, which in itself is pretty pathetic, but not as pathetic as taking the time to complain about it on a perfectly good Saturday morning instead of going outside or reading a book.

Good. Update: update made game much smoother and more enjoyable. Sometimes the grenade drop icon gets stuck on the screen now though, if I use rope or jetpack but don't drop a weapon. Challenges 47 on are too hard for iPhone without good rope controls. This is about as much as I can expect from iPhone worms. Well I have no lag or jump issues. The only thing that isn't good is the ninja rope controls. And the fact that my home screen icon is the lemonade tycoon icon with "worms" under it. Weird. I don't think ninja rope can be fixed so I'm happy with the way it is. Looking forward to multiplayer over 3g. Maybe add some campaign options like on Armageddon, the challenges are lame. Wish I could change icon, reboots don't help.

Just a little more.... I've loved Worms-style games since scorched earth (deaths head + rubber walls mmm), and this definitely hit the spot with familiar gameplay without being cluttered. Could it do with more levels? Sure. It doesn't need them though. Likewise with weapons. My only gripes are, first: movement. Jumping is especially hazardous, as I often accidentally jump while trying to do something else (aim, etc.). Also the jetpack and ninja rope controls feel somewhat limited. And I'm sure something could've been done with tilt controls. Other is multiplayer; wifi or other local connection would've been nice, keeping batteries alive longer. Still, fun game, worth the purchase.

Used to love the game. Not any longer.. You would think by looking at the previews that the game would be fun and enjoyable. It’s the exact opposite. What makes this game so horrible you ask? It’s the controls and lack of consistency in using the controls they have given to us. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and pay money to download the game and 2 games in you’ll quit and delete the game. Won’t be paying money to this franchise again.

Great title spoiled by poor controls. The iPhone version of Worms still has all the charm and fun of its classic PC predecessor but it's significantly let down by a poorly implemented, and non-intuitive, control scheme. It's too easy to find yourself jumping off a cliff or onto a mine when you're trying to move or pan the camera around, and when trying to aim shots the camera will re-centre on your worm causing you to lose sight of your target. Also, like the original, the enemy AI in single player mode is so accurate (even on easier difficulties) that it's like playing against a cheater. On the plus-side the multiplayer Bluetooth mode is great and the single player challenges are a lot of fun. The graphics and sound have been nicely updated for the iPhone.

Addicting. I played Worms World Party, and Worms Armageddon and never did like the games that came after them... This one is a winner! THey have used the touch screen to great affect- my only frustration is that sometimes the controls get confused - when the worm is on the side of the screen and I want to move the crosshairs instead of walking or jumping. The other issue is that the camera sometimes will not follow the action, like the missile shooting right at your worm- choosing instead to stay focused on the enemy worm who is slowly walking away. This game hits all of the right spots - even with these flaws, I find myself playing it all the time. Great Game!

For the customer. For those of you who after reading some of the reviews were unsure if this was the right buy (like me). Let me tell you it is. There were many complaints about the controls which do take a little getting used to. After I did a couple of traing rounds and read the help section you will probably find that the controls are not that bad, while yes they take getting used to they are manageble. As for the the crashes on my 2nd gen 16 gigabyte itouch I have yet to experience any crashes or glitches. Also there have been complaints of the worms being to small. While I have 20/20 vision the screen automatically zooms in on the worms so I find it fine. OVERALL PROS Team customization Price (could easily be 10$) Weapons Engaging gameplay 2 player CONS Controls (for some) Drains your battery faster than some other apps Too Small of worms (again for some) So I suggest you buy it Ps some other great apps are: Pocket god, bloons, epic pet wars ( my posse name is smaeae),zombieville USA, harbor master, and doodle jump. Awesome game!. I used to play this to death on the amiga, and then the playstation. Many a night was wasted at university as me and my friends killed each other over and over in ever more bizarre ways. I never realised how much I missed worms until I played this version. It takes a little while to get used to the controls but it plays great on the iPhone. It might be a lot easier for people who have played the game before, but even if you have not you should give it a go. And, yes it's 5 bucks.. But come on, I think I bought in for the playstation for 20 pounds (40 bucks). Everyone is getting too spoiled by the low prices in the app store, 5 bucks is the same as a pint of beer or a mcdonalds meal. This is an awesome version of a classic game, and it is actually made by the original programmers, team 17. There are plenty of horrible unlicensed, ported versions of games out there (lemmings...) but this one shows some love for the original.. And, apart from a couple of brief freezes, I haven't had any problems with this game..

Great Game~!. In all honesty I cannot put this game down! I have loved worms for years and this is a faithful port to the iPhone/iPod Touch. Although the controls tend to be a little quirky it doesn't take too long to get used to them; the only complaint I have is that the button to jump is only a single tap on the worm (that you are currently controlling) and sometimes a single misplaced tap could cost you the game. Other than that, if you like worms, or want a really addictive game, get it - def worth 5 bucks! P.S. I have the latest version and I do not seem to be experiencing the freezing problems others seem to be having, the game only gets a little laggy when there is a massive explosion w/ multiple worms - but that clears up in seconds.

A great port for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike!. I have been eagerly awaiting this game's arrival to the iPhone OS and am happy to say that the great gameplay I've come to know and love has been translated into a beautiful, witty game with intuitive controls for the iPhone. Newcomers, expect to find a great deal of replayability and a healthy dose of humorous, explosive fun. (Drop a concrete donkey on your friends today!) What the 1.0 version lacks in features it makes up for in ambition. Team 17 has allegedly vowed to include Wi-Fi, bluetooth and even 3G multiplayer to expand upon its current pass-and-play multiplayer in version 1.0. Fans of the franchise will find the game is not as fully-featured in customizability as its PC cousins. Challenge mode consists merely of blasting through different numbers of worms at varying skill levels in order to hone one's skills and unlock more languages and gravestones for teams. However, these shortcomings do little to dilute the experience for me and the true essence of the game persists, nonetheless, in this beautifully rendered and meticulously animated iPhone game. Add to all of this a modest price tag of only $4.99 and you can't go wrong with this purchase. In short, I am eagerly awaiting the future of this App while greatly enjoying its current version as I blast my opponents with sheep and hand grenades.

Bluetooth doesn't work. I guess I should have checked to see this app hadn't been updated in three years, Bluetooth multiplayer doesn't work anymore, let alone the garbage UI.

No authentication????. When loading the beginning page it always says they can't authenticate the game...The game is a paid game it should be either updated and fixed or free.... however I'm a big fan of the worms my it's one of my favorite game.

Great. It is great but the weird thing is that while I can create my teams I can’t create my own style like worms 2 for iOS overall great

Game stops working during challenges. Game is fun and all but the app will stop working and quit on its own randomly during challenge mode some times, but does it without exception on 41 and I can’t get passed it. There’s also issues where it thinks I’m telling the worms to jump when I’m either trying to move left or right or zoom in or out. Causes them to jump off cliffs from time to time.

Fantastic, well worth $5. This is a fantastic port of worms. A definate buy if you are a fan of the series. The controls are at first a bit awkward, but quickly become second nature. It is a steal for $5, compared to the $20-$25 on other systems. It has very smooth graphics and a casual pick up and play-ness to it. A lot of readers have said that the ninja rope is a failure, but they're quite wrong, you have to know how to use it. When you shoot it at an object, there are arrows on the sides and top and bottom of the screen. Touch the top of the screen to shorten the length of the rope, and the bottom of the screen to lengthen it, and use the arrows on the sides to swing in the corresponding direction. When you want to release the rope, hit fire again. Its as simple as that. This is a game easily worth $5, I highly reccomend it.

Bluetooth. I loved the original computer game! This, however, does not live up to the expectations. The controls are a little trickier (sometimes zoom commands are misinterpreted as jumps) and Bluetooth matches don't connect. Room for improvement.

Controls are twitchy and unreliable. Keep trying to jump backwards and it jumps forwards or does nothing at all and vice versa.

Great work. Awesome to have a form of Worms on my iPod. Controls take a bit of getting used too, but I got the hang of it in about 20 mins. Also, the only time it crashes for me (iPod 3rd gen w/ iOS4) is 15 minutes of playing with music on, and even then it saves right where it crashed, so I have no dramas. Worms fan must-have!!

Pretty good. Being a fan of worms on the computer, I quickly bought this app and it is pretty cool because it gives you the chance to play worms on the go, but it does need a few updates to help with a few of the control problems, such as people accidentally jumping off a cliff when they're trying to backflip, etc. Their are a couple of crashes every now and then but I don't really find it a problem as it saves the game after every go

Awsome!!. this is gd I us to play this on the computer all the time there r some thing missing thou like customizing your game, on PC u cloud choose were your worms cloud be placed, u cloud swich to a deiffrent worm to, on your tern u cloud do alot more on the pc version then this so plesa make an update so u can chooes how u want your game to be other then it being aotmticly done for u all the time.

Many flaws but still a great game.. Panning and zooming is a bit difficult (it takes 4-6 swipes just to get to the other side of the map). Like some people have said, the worms are too small even at max zoom. Controlling your worm can also be frustrating especially jumping. There are minor framerate drops at certain points but not so much as to affect gameplay. Overall a great game! I'd still recommend this despite all the problems stated.

Worth it.. An excellent game, but only worth purchasing if you have the opportunity to play with others regularly. The price is a bit much if you only play alone. There are no issues or drawbacks with controls etc..good fun :-)

Garbage. Absolute garbage that a game can be made to work on iphone and they can’t fix a glitch on level 39-41 constantly cuts out and you have to restart the level. Pos

Racer01. Worms is a good game but isnt perfect, the graphics are average for a 2D game, it has slow paced gameplay that can get annoying, the aiming controls are fiddly and difficult to use, also it needs a bigger zoom because the worms still look to small when you have fully zoomed in. Overall it is a good game many people will enjoy it especially if you are a fan of the worms games but for me i would much rather see a worms 3D game come to the iphone

HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!. Really really good game. Make sure you run through the help to learn all the controls etc. Takes a little while to get used to the controls, but once you've worked it out the game becomes highly enjoyable. NEEDS bluetooth multiplayer so that we can all play with our own iPhones, but I'm sure that will come soon! Worth every penny though!

Great game but.... Please move or remove the plus+ button in the top right hand corner because it covers the menu button so you cannot pause or exit the game, which is annoying

Lots of fun, but heavily biased. The game is lots of fun, but heavily biased. As your achievements take you to the higher levels, it becomes impossible to win against enemy worms that are able to calculate the trajectories with pinpoint accuracy, whereas there's no possibility, for you (me) to do the same... You're no match with a fat finger on a tiny screen... So please introduce a level of 'chance' for the enemy, to emulate a degree of human error.

Great game. Worms is great value. I had a little bug, but that was fixed. Controls are great. Can you make an area on worms where we can create our own map combinations? And can you make worms 2 a bit cheaper? I only have AU $4.27 left on my iTunes card.

Sssssslllllllllloooooooowwwwww....... I gave this app 5 stars a week ago, it was brilliant! I updated the version two days ago and now every 5 seconds it pauses for long periods of time before resuming, if it doesn't drop out itself or I get sick and tired and escape to iPhone home page myself. I thought it's just body count, but no, all the single player worms games are like this. I thought it the iphone, but no, all my other apps are fine and dandy... Too slow with the new update for me...

Glitchy. Playing on iPhone 8, keeps glitching so almost unplayable, buttons glitch so you just blow yourself up repeatedly because you cannot hold down power button on grenade or rocket launcher. Sometimes it gets stuck and you can’t move, all you can to is jump. Unless this is fixed I would like a refund.

Good game but.... I love worms and am excited that it is now on the iPhone platform. My only two gripes are with the controls and with the speed. Moving around the screen is difficult and ought to behave more like google maps of fieldrunners. Also the rope is tricky to master. Often I find myself wishing it could be controlled with the accelerometer. As for the speed, well things are noticably laggy. Please do something about that or at least provide options to allow people to turn off features such as the background, air direction particles, non essential map details, worm thought bubbles et al.

Some good points, some bad.... Looks good, just like the old one with all the same sounds and graphics. Moving is not easy - would be good to just have arrow buttons and a jump button instead of trying to make it know whether youre trying to aim or walk. It is also quite jerky and stutters when playing. since downloading i have tried to play it a few times, but been frustrated to the point of quitting before ive finished the game. overall a three star rating is probably being generous.

Nice.. This app is fantastic, although some things could be done to make it better. 1. Bring in Armagedon. 2. More weapons, also you should be able to choose which weapons you can use and can't use. 3. I personally don't have trouble with this but reading other reviews showed trouble with jumping controls. Maybe a couple of separate buttons? 4. Multiplayer via wi-fi or Bluetooth would be great. 5. Changing the way your worms look, you could gain more clothes and thing by completing challenges. 6. Each worm have its own special move. This can only be used once in each game/round. I hope to see some of these features in future updates.

Awesome game but need improvements. Hey guys awesome game I play it every day, but 1 thing that I think that it needs is online multiplayer battles. So when you go on you can just verse people around the world in different game modes such as last team standing, team games with 2-4 players depending on what game mide it is depending on how many worms you get and there should also be varifying worm types with different abilities and strengths. Could be better.... A great game that brings back a lot of memories. This release however falls short of the game's former glory. Team 17 need to pay more attention to detail, such as ironing out some the sloppy gameplay controls, aiming with the touchscreen is not accurate, panning & zooming is painful and the overall quality of gameplay on this platform is lacking when compared to the original. All is not lost however, a quality update addressing the above would without doubt turn this app into a highly addictive 5 star game.

Addictive (on 3GS). Frustrating performance on iPhone 3G but really playable on 3GS. Only one improvement request: an in-game clock (maybe in the pause screen) so you don't have to quit and reload to check the time. You can lose an awful lot of time to this game if you don't keep track of it!

as good if not better than on the computer. i bought this on iphone 4 and it works just like on a computer if not better. the graphics on iphone 4 look better and the controls are very easy to get comfortable with and very inuitive. it has never crashed with me. you have heaps of single and multi-player options. if you loved the game on computer then this will definitely not dissapoint. my advice to apple- perhaps you should make people specify which apple product they purchase an app for when they write their reviews. because perhaps worms is perfect on iphone 4 but not so good on an ipod etc. i think specifying the apple product will enable app buyers to make more informed, accurate and confident decisions, which by-the-way would probably help boost app sales.

Great Game. I have always loved worms from way back. Its a fun and exciting game. The ipod version is no exception! Its still as fun-filled and as awesome as i rember it from years ago. ~~~Suggestion~~~ please release some of the features from the PC versions onto this version please, such as the extensive amount of weapons (Worms World Party) and the options thingy at the start, where u can choose some game modes (blood-effects~double gravity~super-jump~etc) and please please please bring back the good old SUPER SHEEP! all in all, a fantasticly well done game~~~good work guys ;D

Overall, fantastic game!. I've been expecting this game to be released on the iphone OS for some time now, and am very pleased it has been. The game tutorials are helpful, however lacking slightly in weapons description. After playing for a short while you figure out what does what though. The controls are a little irritating at times, particularly the zoom. You need to be able to zoom in further than you can, and it would be better if you could do it quicker. Perhaps a slider bar at the top center? The game can be a little laggy when loading, but gameplay is smooth. Team options, level modes and AI difficulty is all absolutely fantastic. All in all; If you are a fan of the pc version of worms, buy this game! You won't be dissapointed!

Isn't slow at all. I have a iPod touch 3rd gen and I put the graphics on high quality and it works fine I play this game over Bluetooth with my freinds alot the controls are fine after you know how to use them it is almost the same as it is on the computer well worth 6 dollars

amazing ap. This is an excellent ap and does not get boring after a couple of weeks like most other aps. In the next update, would be great if we could have more weapon options and more control over creation of the level and weapons etc. Other than that, awesome!

Needs more update. Althoughm it was fun at the start blasting those worms, I reckon it can use some more updates. there are limited weapons and themes, and you can't even do a quick play with your own worms team. lack of customization is also a problem: all you can do to distinguish your worm team from others is gravestones, voices and names. Maybe some hew worm colours or outfits? It also needs some more types of maps. where are all those other weapons that were in previous worms games? Nuclear bomb, super sheep or super banana bomb, there were just dozens of cool weapons you could have included.

It plays for a few challenges but then it’ll crash and exit the game making it impossible to play any further.. crashing. I bought this game yesterday. Everything was working fine and normal, i loved it. On the second time starting the game up i had a quick game, the other team used an airstrike and then it just started lagging.. a lot, and after about 2 mins the game just crashed. So i went to open it up again after that and it crashed again... please fix this.

Utterly brilliant. I have had this game a few months now and I still addicted! just like when I was a kid I have got through the challenges which are great fun. Occasionally mis jumps happen but the controls are done well for a touch screen.

WORMS FTW!. Finally! This is long overdue. A great, familiar game which is simple and fun to play. The controls are innovative, but they don't work. Tapping to jump is clumsy, pinching to zoom is difficult and dragging 2 fingers to pan is clunky. Also, when aiming crosshair with some weapons like homing missile, I don't like the laggy, dragging action. A while ago, I also bought pocket tanks and I find it a bit more enjoyable and playable that this, but still this is a great game. The visuals in worms are a lot better than pocket tanks though. Still, buy it!

Epic game!!!!. I have been a big fan of worms ever since I got world war party in gameboy... I then go worms 3d on computer which was a big update..... I then got worms forts on ps2 which was still good... It wasn't long before I got worms 4 mayhem on computer... Aswell as the limited edition space odity in wii....... They were all good games and this hasn't yet let me down!!!! Fir next update I recommend multiplayer wi-fi or 3G and fixing the problem that it sometimes crashes on os4

Addicted and lovin' it!. I'm a huge Worms fan and ever since the rumor of there being a Worms commin' out for the iPhone I had my easy peeled for it in the app store and bought on sight! It didn't dissapoint at all the controls perfect although there are some hopes for an update for spicific things; for one jumping can be a little painful maybe an actual button on screen mite help that out; next the targeting for air raids, teleports etc. could be easier with maybe even that magnafiying glass to come up when ur moving the target (like when you type on the iPhone) it's just a lil' hard to aim right on with ur thumb in the way; and lastly the moving of the screens view and zooming can be a little slow in speed. The only real thing I'll be looking for now is added content, weapons, themes or even chellenge levels! I mean all in all I wasn't expecting much less of classic worms action and that's what I got, beautiful visuals and a game you will keep comming back for, would have quite easily have payed more for this... A great game!

Don't be sucked in. Some people have low standards apparently. It's good to start, true to the pc version. Then the lag kicks in. The jump control is pathetic at best. Far too often instead of backflipping you'll jump of an edge. The aiming is frustrating slow, laggy, and often gets confused with jump. Oh, and the LAG IS HORRENDOUS! Not worth any money in it's current state let alone 6 bucks. Although it did prompt me to download the pc version for some happy times...

I LOVE WORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1. This game is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worms has always been a favourite of mine and I'm so glad it's now on ipod touch! People often complain about the controls but i dunno what they're talking about, I think the controls are great. The graphics are great, I haven't had any problems with lag and it loads really fast. By far the most played game on my Ipod. In conclusion, This Game ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

A big disappointment. I looked forward to this app after enjoying the game on computer years ago. But this has not been adapted well for iPhone. Worms and weapons are too difficult to control, especially aiming on the small screen. There should be an option to increase turn time, as much more than 30 seconds is required to fiddle around and actually make a decnt move. More customisation in terms of weapons, teams and overall settings would be good too.

Worms upgrade. Up to a 5 star since 11 Dec 16 All fixed at long last. Thanks team 17 Still my favourite app but I can't see much improvement. I still lose my guys into the drink when I accidentally touch the screen. Same old backgrounds and voices on 'quick game'. The enemy don't seem any smarter. Really it's the same as it was before. new update not working. Great game. With the single player challenge mode there is always a challenge, instead of playing the same old game all the time. There is even a quick play mode if you want to play a game quickly if you don’t have much time. Fun to play with friends on the bus, in the car, or just about anywhere. It would be 5 stars, but the new update is not working. (Only downfall) still good job overall though! Please fix the update bug please.

A Classic. Playing this game is pure nostalgia, and yet it suits the iPhone/Touch better than it ever did my old win95 PC. Nice graphics, good gameplay, attention to detail in sound design, this game just needs some online & Bluetooth multiplayer options and it will be the perfect worms game. My only beef with the controls is that you occasionally make your worm jump unintentiinally when trying to make a selection.

Disappointed Worms fan. :(. From a huge fan of the series I can honestly say I felt that this was a waste of $5. The controls are terrible and I find the menus lag. Honestly, I don't know how they managed to screw it up so bad. Save your money and get something else, if you must get Worms get it on a different system.

Great... But.... The game is awesome! Just like the classic Worms. Some fixes needed: -When u are close to either side of the screen end, u can't walk only jump -please create directional buttons and jump button on the bottom, touch feature is cool but ur fingers are always in the way, u can't see, makes gameplay suffer using jetpack, rope, girters, etc. Retreat is impossible! And it would fix the issue I just mentioned with control at screen edges. Other than that, works great. Worth every penny. Can't wait for Worms 2!

First, hard to move worms from the side of the screen ( they ofren jump or backflip instead of moving when on the edge of the screen) Second, whenever the plus icon appears, it hides the timer (annoying...) and blocks the ability to pause the game or access menus ( very annoying) Otherwise great game

Used to love it, until I tried it on iPhone 6.. The touch screen no longer aligns with the controls because of the extended screen length. Unplayable without a fix.

Wouldn't recommend buying it until they decide to update the game correctly so you're able to use the full screen and the buttons you push are actually what gets brought up. do NOT upgrade if you have an iPad it will be removed. The previous version worked fine on my iPad and was it's usual brilliant self. The upgrade requires IOS4 which is not yet available on the iPad and so it will be removed at your next synch. Still is great on the iPhone.

almost perfect. Game is fantastic, has alot of the stuff that the originals always had but missing some things that seem like they could have put in. For instance you can't change the number of worms on a team, you can have up to 4 teams but no more or less than 4 worms. Also it's missing alot of simple weapons that the others have, which there isn't much reason i can see they're missing. Otherwise the controls works pretty much all of the time, i end up jumping when not meaning too sometimes but for only using touch they are good once you get used to them. I found one glitch though during a replay the explosion went off totally differently then it actually happened when i did it, which was odd but didn't make much of a difference.

Pleasantly surprised. I had reservations about buying this for $4.99. I typically don't play (or buy) games on my phone...most always just utilities and such. However I've bee a huge worms fan for a long time and judging by the reviews, I figured what the hell. I was very impressed with the performance, graphics, similarity to the xbox version of this game, controls, weapons, menus, and more. I would say biasly that this is the best game out there for iPhone. Only suggestion would be to be able to create a multiplayer with local or online players. How to implement this though is another topic. 4-5/5

Bad ethics. Game is left alone. Ok, if you leave a game alone without support for over a year, at least make it free. 2.99 for a game that crashes half of the time. I mean the game is awesome don't get me wrong but this app is terrible. Bluetooth rarely works. And has never been fixed. No online play and now they release a new version for 5 bucks. This is just poor customer service. Screwing us into buying the new one for five dollars by neglecting the one we paid three dollars for. Eventually you will give up and cough up the five bucks, is what they think. Your marketing team must consist of a bunch of monkeys.

Not perfect but still awsome as hell. I've played this game for hours on end. Sure there are a few flaws; I never got the concrete donkey, the game crashes every so often ( but that could be because you should reboot your iPhone once a week for your apps to work properly) but besides that the game play is awsome. The controls are pretty simple and user friendly. All in all I'd have to say it's in my top five favorite apps. Hope they makers enable wifi multi players eventually. Screw the haters. Great, but needs some work. Awesome remake of a clasic! Hours of entertainment, certainly worth the 4.99, but needs some work on the controls. The jump controls are terrible, fwd leap instead of backflip frequenly costs me the game. The ninja rope is almost impossible to use like in the old pc version: sluggish and doesn't seem to register multi touch correctly. Sometimes the game crashes, but autosave usually works and a restart helps stability. Some Work on the controls would make this a 5 star easily! -Looking forward to some updates!!!

Near-Perfect. This game has gotten my fellow classmates and I through many hours of useless block periods. The local multiplayer function is especially useful, as we don't need to use bluetooth which drains battery more. The controls are simple and easy to use and are almost never frustrating. I've rated it 4 stars because in order to earn the last star, it would be exhilarating if the developers let you choose where to put your own worm, like in other Worms games because the game frequently clusters your team together, leading to a quick defeat by the hands of a remorseless friend. Please put this feature in Team17.

Excellent port, fun game play. Learning the controls takes a bit of time and some getting used to. Once you figure it out, it feels just like Worms on 360, which I am hopelessly addicted to. I'm sure that future updates will bring some great improvements and fix any minor glitches. Good translation from original. This is a satisfying adaptation of the original worms games, though I'm not sure how it would be for someone who hasn't played it on another platform before. The game is entertaining as the original is, and is diverting and challenging. I would give I 5 stars if there was any kind of play between others: I realize that live play like the originals may not be possible but an online turn-operated version like Scrabble shouldn't be difficult. My biggest complaint is that you can't choose a replay of the action: because of the screen size, you have to zoom in to see what you're doing, but order to retreat you can't also zoom out to see what happens...which is what's so fun about Worms. Also, the controls can be fussy-the ninja ropes are frustrating, and some of the weapons have been removed or altered.

Slow and in need of a major update!. I am a HUGE fan of worms. But the rumors are true. This is a very bad port. Its sad cause Team17 used to be one of the big players back in the day. I can't believe some small programmers are creating masterpieces around here and Team17's comeback looks like a bunch of amatuers. There are games out there with much more intense graphics that are lightning fast - worms is lagging so much it totally ruins the flow! Also you need to be able to zoom in more AND (most importantly for me) use ONE finger to scroll around the screen - not TWO! That's basic. Its already a standard to thousands of iphone/ipod games!! Just add buttons for moving the worm left and right or tilt, or use that for the 2 fingers... I mean come on!! I got sooo excited when this came out. Team17 you gotta live up to your legend!

Having fun. I bought this for my first-generation iPhone (because I used to love playing Worms 2 and Worms Armageddon on my PC) but with some reservation given the reviews. However, this 1.0 version plays pretty good and I'm enjoying it. The ninja rope is the only weapon I have found that is very difficult to control. Occasionally the cross-hair pointer doesn't seem to respond correctly. Like others, I would also like to be able to zoom in much more on the worms (hopefully the graphics are vector based so this can be easily fixed in an update). I give it four stars for $5. If you have never played Worms before, you might want to wait for the update before buying.

Fun to frustrating. This is a very enjoyable game until level 30 where it starts to become near impossible to advance to further stages. Multiplayer made this game addicting and the lack of it on the iPhone version really kills the enjoyment that this game had on PC. It's like emptying the gas from a car, the one element that drives this game is missing. The jetpack needs better controls as well. It's a fun game for the price but the whole idea is to challenge others. Ask yourself, would you still play COD4 if there wasn't multiplayer. For those looking for a quick laugh this game is just for you. For worm veterans that loved online MP, you'll be disappointed.

Great port. I've been playing worms since it's first release. I was a freshman in hs. My fav version still has to be wwp due to all the halarity. This is a great port of a great game. The controls really aren't that dificult. Read the instructions and have at least a 5th grade level of reading comprehenson and it should be cake. That being said a few missing items hold this to only 3 stars. Please add online via wifi. Please fix bugs (crashed after two rounds. Just rebooted. Not bad just annoying). Also allow me to edit avail weapons. Maybe you already did and I just didn't look hard enough. It should be an option when setting up match so it's easy to find. Add/fix that and it's 5 out of 5 easy If you are a worms fan, it's well worth your 5 bucks. Buy it. If you've never played worms before, start with a different version because you probably won't really get it and you'll get smoked even on easy.

I really haven't found any flaws thus far while playing so the previous update addressed the other bugs before. I Can't wait for 3.0 features of this game and what it may bring maybe more challenges, Maps, stuff of that nature. Great game overall!!! Definitly a must buy especially if you're a fan of the Worms series. It would be nice one day to see Worms 3D on the appstore. :D

Great Worms game!. Awesome game with a few missing trademark Worms things. First, it'd be great to have a Pneumatic Drill weapon! Please, Team17! I haven't used one since Worms Armageddon! Second, the Worms don't cheer and jump up and down when the game is over. It makes me feel less accomplished when the round is over. Also, you can't hear what the voices sound like when you're selecting a voice for a custom team until you're playing a match. Finally, the game has crashed on me a couple times already. It's a good thing the game has the "iSave" feature. When you exit the game, you can resume the game from the start of the current turn. Overall, I'd recommend this game to any Worms fan. It's perfect for Worms on-the-go, with a few missing features.

Fun Fun Fun!! Buy this game!. I have always loved this game, ever since first playing it on the PlayStation probably 10 or 12 years ago. When I saw it available for the iPhone, I had to have it!! It's a great conversion and plays surprisingly well with the touch interface. Don't expect stunning graphics - that not what this game is about. This game is 100% pure fun, it's all about the gameplay, the silly weapons (exploding sheep, holy hand-grenades, banana bombs), and the snide comments and comic speech banks. And lets not forget there is a large element of skill and strategy to it too. Well worth every penny. BIG THANKS to Team17 for an excellent conversion!

Great game!!!. I used to play it on nintendo 64 and then I got the pc version for it which I still have and remains one of my favorite games!!! It's great being able to play it on the go. As with everything there is room for improvement. Such as the double tap to jump the ninja rope and jetpack controls are a little difficult to use. Also i don't know about everybody else but the explosions don't leave a perfectly round circle like the original. They leave like a bunch of little ones. It kind of bugs me. Anyway great game get it! It's worth it. Can't wait for an update 

Just how I remember it!. I've grown up playing all the Worms games and this is very nostalgic. I love how Team17 executed this game through the iPhone. Controls are fairly simple, awesome gameplay, and they allow us customization of our teams as they did in their former games. My only complaint would probably be the jump feature, taking how small the screen is in comparison to our computer screens sometimes tapping on the tiny Worms to jump is difficult. Maybe implement a jump button somewhere? But other than that, this game is extraordinary.

Awesome. Just get it. Top 5 iPhone games ever. Bluetooth head to head is solid. If you loved worms on the pc, this won't let you down. One of those games that adds awesome depth with the addition of touch interface. Well done team17 My one and only request is to get a keyboard style interface for the rope instead of buttons on each edge of the screen. If I could use three fingers on an u/d/l/r arrow pad of buttons like a pc, it would make it much better.

Worms. Solid all around and very addictive. Yes, the ninja rope isn't as brilliant as it was on the pc back in the day, but I still keep playing it everyday so something's right about it! We still need a performance update that allows us poor 2g guys a chance to turn off atmospherics and backgrounds for better framerate. This could remove/reduce the horrible pauses during turns. All in all, 5 bucks is well worth the money given the 50 challenge levels, nevermind the multiplayer staging games and quickplay. A good value all round :)

Great but not perfect. This is a great game and I feel it's definitely worth the 4.99 I paid for it. In fact I've been hitting search on "worms" for the past week ever since I saw the posting on your forums about the impending release. The only thing keeping this game from getting 5.0 for me is the slightly lagging controls. They're pretty good... but not flawless. On the other hand, consider the graphics, AI, audio and everything else that had to be packed onto such a small memory device I can't blame you.

Nice effort. Worms for the iPod touch is nicely made an delivers solid and fun gameplay. With it's multiple challenges and campaign its replay value is considerably high. The graphics I feel overwhelm the iPods capability and at times seems to run very slowly. Another setback this game has is that it only offers pass the iPod type of multiplayer. Playing worms on many platforms, I took the online multiplayer as granted and found that worms for the iPod/iPhone does not support this feature. All in all this is a great way to kill time and is well worth the price. Only because of it's lag and no online multiplayer does this game get 4 in my opinion.

keeping Worms alive. This is a great game for many reasons, it is the same as all the older worm games except for some new weapons and all open maps (no cave style maps). the controls are different but you get used to them pretty quick, the graphics also are great beating that of the n64 version of the game. a couple suggestions to the developers is give more time for the players turns, also allow players to zoom in more, and not have soooooo many mines on the map ( makes it a pain to move anywhere to shoot). This is truly a great game for the itouch or iphone with great gameplay that will keep you entertained for hours at a time.

Much better. I'm impressed with the update it's way better than the first version. I got the 3gs so the graphics are really awesome without any lag. I got to play this game on the 3g with the lower game setting and it ran smooth (the only thing ur not getting with the lower graphic setting is the mosving background and the falling snow). But overall u did a great job fixing the problems. I'm still giving u a 3/5 because worms is not the same with out online multiplayer. Also can u add more weapons like the skunk, drill, minigun and bungdee. If u do all of the following I would pay $10 fir this app. 4.99 is a great price.

Good first impression but.... I am a die hard worms fan. Anyone who gave this app a good review probably hasn't played a desktop worms game before. This game has ight graphics. The map are zoomed out waaaayy too far even when you have it zoomed all the way in. The worms are extremely small, making them look pixelated and ugly. I might also add that this game uses an entirely new visual style than all of the desktop worms games. All of the worms look like they are from an anime television show, as well as the weapons and other elements in the game. The UI is also lingering between good and bad. The controls are a tad laggy and slow but the rest is fine. I'm not taking off for missing online play, as T17 promised to include it in the next update. For other worms players: - The weapon selection AND the team customization options are both EXTREMELY limited. - Each team only has 4 worms. -No mission mode -VERY disfuncional ninja rope - EXTREMELY bad physics. (compared to desktop worms titles) TEAM 17: READ THIS!!! What the heck happened!?!?!?! This is the first time you have dissapointed me! I know you can do better than this.

It. Remember the real worms? Back with Worms: Armageddon and Worms: World Party? This is not that. This is the new worms. This worms has fewer weapons. This worms has over the top explosive areas and crappy physics. WHile this game is fun by itself, compared to the other "real" worms, it just isn't that good. It's still decent for the stratgy man, but you might not go back to this one after playing the better worm games on the PC. The touch controls leave a lot to be YEt, all that aside, this game is still good fun, and that's what an app is about. It's fun to play. The new modes are fun and put your strategy to the test. I hope that updates will fix the areas of explosions and the physics. But hey, it's still good as is. It also crashes when I try to host a bluetooth game. I really want to do that, but I can't. And even when someone else tries to host a game, it never loads or even acknowledges me or anybody. Please fix the bluetooth.

Pure Win. Not the most stable or bugfree release, I am first to admit, but the gameplay is so wonderful, it's the same worms I have played for years and I am happy to have it on my phone!! I hope the bugs are quickly fixed but even with the occasional lag hiccups and interface glitches the game still is extremely playable and I find myself unable to tear away from the game. In summary, while I personally find the app well worth the money please do not think it perfect or done, this is version 1.0 and it is a complicated game so bugs are to be expected. Thank you Team17!!!

Disappointed. I loved this game growing up and I was excited at the idea of playing it again. Unfortunately I was very disappointed once I opened the app and realized none of the controls seem to run properly. My soldiers are consistently jumping of the map and onto mines. It seems like the touch points are off by a bit and makes nearly impossible to play. I recommend not getting this app if you have an iPhone 6 until they come out with some major bug fixes. I gave them a 2 star in hopes they will make the changes soon, which will make this my favorite game on my phone.

Great game, one of iPhones best.. 3G Tested. I'm a huge Worms fan and this is truely a great Worms game. It is better then the DS and PSP Worms and I say second Best to the new Worms 2: Armageddon on the Xbox 360. Visuals - 10 Same cartoony look but in the palm of your hand. Looks as good as console versions. Sound - 10 Good original music, voice overs sound clear and good. Gameplay - 9 It's all there, campain is tough and multiplayer is works. Some say they experience slow downs but i haven't. Controls- 8 Takes time getting use to but once you got it you got it. I had the controls down in 10 min. For inexperienced players who don't know the basics I can se it taking some time. Overall it is my top favorite iPhone game and i own alot. It looks good and plays good. With console versions costing $10 and pc versions costing $30 why not pay $5. It's a great price and I wouldve payed more.

Great!. I don't see what the big fuss is about. I thought this game was great. Its just like the other Worms games I have. The only problem I have is with the Ninja Rope. But everything else is excellent. It's fun flying around the battlefield with a jetpack and placing dynamite right next to your enemy. The price is just right IMO. The graphics are great, too. The option to resume a game is excellent for when it crashes, which is also unlikely. I'll see if I can get my friend to get this game, so we can both play it at school. :)

Team 17 Delivers!!!!!. I have been wanting to play Worms for a long...... time. I bought the Wii version and it was okay, but did not compare to the old pc versions. When I saw this had come to the iPhone I became excited. Worms for iPhone delivers and compares to the old pc version. Would really like to see vista versions out soon! iPhone controls work great and take little time to learn. Game needs drill and shovel!!!!!!!! Can't wait until 3.0 features arrive. Would be so cool if online gameplay is added. If not now at least in the future Worms versions.

Waste of Money. If you had ever played the original worms, don't buy this game. It is a waste of 3 bucks (app itself shouldn't even be worth that much) and it would just break your heart. I use to play worms on my uncle's phone when I was younger and was excited to find an app. Affect I saw the price, I wasn't sure if I should get it, but after all of the memories came to me, I thought it was worth it. This game is NOTHING like the original and the little worms don't move as well either. It also 'let's' you choose names for your worms, but only for the multi player mode. Trust me on this one, if it was free, it would be an okay game, but it still wouldn't be the REAL worms. Thumbs down! >:(

Great legacy game, but.... I've been a huge Worms fan for years and honestly this was one of the most anticipated iPhone apps for me. Unfortunately I'm let down. This game is laggy as laggy gets on the iPhone 3G. So laggy in fact that I've killed myself multiple times because the game lagged as I was giving it a command and didn't do what I was telling it. Also in previous versions of Worms on different consoles I was a huge fan of the Ninja Rope. Unfortunately due to lag and poor control design it is all but completely useless in the iPhone version. This game has potential, but I was very disappointed within the first minute or two of play. Please optimise this game guys. I want my Worms back!

Give it a chance.. At first I was really excited to play this game but then I was dissapointed when I started playing it. The controls were hard. I had no fun what so ever. But being a loyal Worms fan, I didn't give it up and kept playing anyway. I soon realized that it wasn't the controls fault is my lack of skill. Once I adjusted to the controls (I used to have iShoot so I was used to those controls) I had a wonderful romantic time with this game. ... Teeheehee!

Great until the last update. First off, I love the Worms games and was very excited when I found it for the iPhone. The initial version I downloaded had some stability issues where it would occasionally crash but I could overlook it seeing the gameplay was great. Alas the latest update makes the game unplayable. It lags horribly. It's especially bad when trying to fire a weapon and it freezes, usually around a good 10 seconds, so you have no idea how much power will be applied. All five other people I know who have this game now have the same problem. I hate to but I have to give it one star. The lag itself is truly that bad. Underneath it's a great game but until this horrible lag is fixed, I cannot recommend it to anybody.

Pretty awesome... And will only get better!. I just bought worms 2 for 360 and have been having a blast so I thought I would give it a try. Runs fine on my 3g, it was running slow but a reboot got rid of that. To me everything works great... I think the scope of camera is fine... If you zoomed in any more, you'd barely see what's going on around you. My only gripe is that camera zoom controls using pinch is a tad bit slow, but beyond that it's the worms you know and love right in your pocket! Can't wait for the multiplayer modes!

Problem with Bluetooth connection. Once I learned the controls, the game was pretty fun. However, I bought the game to play with friends via bluetooth and I have not been able to establish a connection. We can see each other's games, but when we select them, we get a message that reads "Failure to connect. Disconnecting." The wonky controls make the harder challenge levels impossible, particularly when trying to control a worm on the side of the screen. This problem might be solved if you could add some open space on the sides of the levels so the game wouldn't require close-up zooming in order to walk toward the edge of the screen.

A classic turn-based comical battle game that's true to the original.. I remember this game back in the era of LAN parties. It was a fantastic and addictive game back then, and Team 17 has done a good job at translating it to iPodTouch and iPhone. Only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because it can be hard to jump with the new multitouch controls...sometimes I want to jump when my worm thinks I'm aiming. I don't feel it detracted from the overall experience though...it just takes time to learn. A very entertaining game and well worth the money.

Missing something. First off, this IS the game we all love which is nice- but it is missing something I thought would DEFINATELY be there. Online VS Multiplayer! ESPECIALLY when iPhone OS 3.0 allows two iPhones to connect via Bluetooth to play games! I saw multiplayer and was very excited... But the "hand over the phone to a friend for his turn" thing is lame considering what's possible. Also, there HAS to be a better way to implement zooming. Sure, pinching is ok but it would be nice to have a "double tap with two fingers to quick zoom all the way out or in" gesture Just my two cents

Great game gone wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love Worms! The problem is the controls are very inaccurate to say the least. One tap can cause a worm to jump forward jump straight up, backflip, or do nothing at all. Usually the command causes the worm to do what is least desirable. Aiming is hit or miss (no pun intended) on the phone. Couple that with the ridiculous accuracy of the computer players it almost appears they cheat. Even their mistakes work in their favor, such as impossible trajectories of about-to-die worms who just happen to land on your worm. You get the picture. It is a fun and wonderful game, but be aware of the frustration you will experience in playing it!

Meh...could be better. I'll have to agree with most other folks on here that this game is entirely too slow. I'm still using the 3G iPhone and don't know if the 3GS would be faster however, this game runs so slow that I can't tell if it's crashing or what. this is a great port to the iPhone and am glad this finally came up but there needs to be some scaling down here to allow for faster gameplay. And since this in on the iPhone now, some directions on how to shoot, fire, jump and all that stuff would be benefical.

FIX BACK FLIP!!. This is a great game, and team 17 did an OK job porting it to the iPhone, but some issues need serious attention. The difference between a single tap and a double tap is not that easy to get on the iPhone, and it's very frustrating trying to backflip and ending up jumping in the water! Also, the ninja rope is very hard to use in the iPhone. Fixing these problems, and the time it takes to load, it is an excelent game.

Very Good game with a few issues. PROS: Great game with great graphics and gameplay. Fairly true to the original. CONS: AI is INCREDIBLY, insanely...suspiciously...good with using the wind to make perfect bazooka shots. It's rediculous sometimes. Honestly. Speech banks are super wonky. Not enough weapons. Controls are not always intuitive and a simple errant tap (esp jumping) can have very negative consequences, which is incredibly aggravating. Completing challenges merely for gravestones or additional speech banks seems like a weak incentive. The really powerful weapons are perhaps too rare. I'm on challenge 27 already and have never gotten the Concrete Donkey. Lastly, this app makes my iPhone SUPER hot when playing. I haven't gotten an overheat warning but I've been using an iPhone since early gen 1 and have never felt an iPhone so hot. Has anyone else noticed this?? Despite these issues, this game is a lot of fun, but this implementation of Worms does still need some work. Fix these things and this is probably darn near a 5-star app.

Amazing. People complain about lag, but I never see any. I saw someone complain about the dimming of the screen at the start of each turn, and then askedif you would like it if your laptop did that. Well Worms does it in every game. Even on your laptop. The zoom is fine, learn the controls. Or go on a diet if your fingers are too fat to use thouch screen. The game crashes once ans a while, but the next update will probably fix it. There also needs to be online play, but that will probably be added too.

Worms 2: Armageddon???. The main reason I bought this app was to stay updated with W2A (Worms 2: Armageddon) But it doesn't seem to be out?? I've had this game for a bit but deleted it since it got boring. Has it even been submitted? Is this just a way to get more people...? Suggestions for Worms. 1: WiFi I think WiFi was nice with the DS version. Bluetooth makes it harder since many people in my school don't have this app. 2: Weapons You don't have a few of my favorites. I understand that you don't want to slow the app or make it easily crashable. But I highly recommend adding a few more. 3: Level Editor. Much like the previous worm games. 4: In-Game Purchases Any of these additions could boost popularity and purchases. Increasing profit with in game stores is a good idea. this game is great.. i couldn't figure out if i wanted to buy this or not. but i am sure glad i did. lots of people said it had lots of problems but i have played it for a long time and i have not seen any thing wrong. it could just be me but the people that hate on good games are just LOSERS. sure soom apps stink but lots are good so dont be worryed about this game and lots of other apps. just read the good helpful ones and you will know if its the right one.

Painful controls make this one hard to reccomend. I love Worms. Really, I do. I played it way back in the 90s on the Playstation. Naturally upon seeing Worms on the app store I had to snag it. Wrong choise. Worms is all about making your turns as pithy as meaningful as possible in a certain time limit. The game has poor, awkward controls that ask you to double tap, swipe with three fingers, single tap, pinch and other gestures. The result is the player using their hand the round all long the screen like a madman while doing all kinds of gestures - all within the time limit. Not so fun. The missing modes is an after thought when you consider the faulty controls - it's just not that fun to play. Additionally, the framerate on the 3G is slow and choppy. Sliding the camera across the screen is made annoying by the framerate. Annoying. Don't get it now - it's not done cooking. Maybe in an update or two the game will b worth the $5, but not now.

authentic awesome worms action!!. ive been playing worms all the way back to gameboy and even the 3d titles of the worms series on ps2 and such. as long as its got team 17s name on it, ive had countless hours of fun including the challenges to get new weapons or just plain ol' having some memorable battles on quick match. this game is easily worth the 5 bucks. if not, then more. the controls are amazingly simple so i dont get why everyones whining. AND IF YOU LIKED WORMS IN THE PAST EVEN SLIGHTLY, THIS GAME WILL REPRESENT WITH ALL OF THE OLD WORMS ACTION YOU LOVED AND EVEN SOME POLSIHED GRAPHICS, ALL OF THE SAME WEAPONS, AND THEN SOME SO BUY THIS APP NOW!!!!!

Fantastic!. I have loved worms for as long as it has existed! After reading the reviews I was worried if this game was going to be any good, since I am a big fan and all. Team17 did a wonderful job! Everything is perfect and spot on and I could not ask for more. The controls are great and I am very happy to have bought this game. Easily worth the $5! If you are worried about buying this game because some of the reviews say it is laggy or glitchy, ignore those! I have been playing this game for the last few days almost non stop and I have not had anything like that. Buy and enjoy!

Awsome but needs updates. Worms is one and probalbly the best app on the app store but it needs to be more like the pc version. Examples: it needs a replay featute, more weapons like the red grenade from worms 2, and finnaly it need a 3.0 update so you can play multiplater on multiple ipods if you are reading this i think you should write an email to team 17 and with enough people we can probably convince them to add these and more updates

Epic. Gameplay wise, a little bit slow, especially on zooming in and out on maps, sliding to go to the other side of the map. I always had a hard time adjusting to the controls - my worm accidentally does a backflip sometimes even though I didn't want to. All in all, still a great app, I've been excited for this. This app is epic! Now if they could just prepare their servers for multiplayer, then it would be EPIC+++
