- Great! But...

Ok, so first off, I want to let the devs know that they did an amazing job making this app. It has a simple design, looks great, and is very user-friendly. One thing is that Google Drive offers 15GB for free, while I think Dropbox only offers 2GB. Maybe for the free version, upgrade that a little bit. Anyway, I mainly use Dropbox over any other service, because I believe it's better, but I might have to switch to Google Drive for more free storage. The one thing that I would add to it, is shortcuts. For example, if I could have all my files in one big folder, and them scatter them across different folders using shortcuts to the same file, in the big folder. I use Dropbox to keep my music MP3's, but I can't have them in different floders without copying and pasting, which would take up twice the storage. I would have multiple folders, and ,for example, have my song in one folder, and another, without doubling the storage. I would want them both to point to the MP3 in the big folder with all my files, that I mentioned before. I would love to have this tool, and I'm sure a ton of others would. This would definitely bring you over the top better than the other cloud storage providers. Thank you for making an awesome program for us to use!

- Great App but very unstable after update

I’m having the same issue as Dudebraj9000. I have an iPhone 8 and have been using Dropbox for years. I agree that the updates have had no added value other than adding additional steps. When I’m uploading photos, I can no longer scroll down to see which photos are uploading. It jumps back to the top. Also, when I go to a photo album from Dropbox to upload photos, it will jump to photos from 2017 or 2018 unless I scroll real slow. Also, if I “move” photos from one folder to another, it now leaves me at the folder the photos got moved to instead of the folder I was working on... really annoying. I believe that if I “copy” photos from one folder to another, it will put me back to the folder I was working on, which is the way it has always been. Lastly, I had disconnected any auto uploads or syncing to Dropbox from the start, yet there is an album again called Dropbox with photos sitting in it... some very old photos. So I don’t know if those photos were uploaded or not. I have never auto synced my photos with Dropbox because I like having control of it. I gave you 5 stars because I use Dropbox every day and I trust that you will fix these issues. Overall, it has been fantastic, but more so in the older versions.

- Useless/not needed

My smart phone has my resume in pdf. Form and that should be it. But no, these stupid app companies are in bed together and so I have to keep downloading app after app after app just apply for jobs. Each app just another security risk, just another way for my info to end up in the wrong hands. Might as well be you know what in a box, Totally unacceptable. Zero stars is the real review. Stop making cloud based crap we already have through oh idk the 16 other apps that do a similar job. This is an edit...after reading some reviews I ask those people if they are using windows 98? Do you not remember that our smart phones and their services were already doing all of this? Did you not already have cloud based service through your smart phone brand or google? Why accept yet another app that is cloud based for yet another way to have your private photos and documents out in another cloud. “The devs are smart” yeah after building the same features into every other cloud based app they realized they needed another job so here is Dropbox, next year it will be “boxdrop” or “doccushare3000”! I’m sure there is some feature that is unique to Dropbox that has you all saying that it’s totally different. You mean something that could have just been added to any other cloud based service? I know it’s free but I didn’t want another app on my phone, another account, another, another, another, another......

- Good features, horrible customer service

I’ve used Dropbox for years with no issues, although it is overpriced and their peculiar insistence on landing you on “Recents” rather than “My Files” is annoying. However, if you must purchase Dropbox, do it on their site and not via the App Store. Here’s why: They sent me a note saying my payment method (Apple) was invalid and I had to “update” my payment method with Apple or lose my paid features on May 31st. Spoke with tech support via chat and confirmed that my payment info is up to date, and that it has successfully gone through for ApplePay, dozens of other apps, and a couple of streaming services. He escalated me to someone who days later sent me a boilerplate email that showed he hadn’t read anything from the previous conversation. I replied, explaining again. No answer. I wrote back asking for an ETA on a response, as May 31 was fast approaching. No answer. Then on May *29* — two days before the supposed deadline — I got an email saying “Your account has been downgraded.” Finally managed to resubscribe by severing my payment within Apple and purchasing on their site (although now I wish I hadn’t). And *still* no response from customer service.

- One year no change

A year ago I reached out for help bc all of my photos I edited on my phone or the hundreds of “portrait mode” iPhone photos were uploaded in their original mode and their “edited” portrait mode. When you click “automatic upload” it uploads your photos in chronological order with dates they were created. Which is great. On the portrait mode or any edited photo, it uploads two versions. I was going through and looking at file size and deleting the one that wasn’t edited so that my terabyte of storage wouldn’t be full. The tip they gave me was to click “manual upload” and manually upload all of the portrait mode or edited photos that I wanted to not have doubled. I did this. The photos were not uploaded by date taken and the file names were changed. But they were not doubled. Then, I clicked “automatic upload” to upload all of the other unedited photos and it still uploaded the edited ones I had manually uploaded bc the file names were different. I have reached out a handful of times about having an option to click or fixing the manual upload bug that changes the file names and causes more duplicates. No changes have been made. Dropbox is the most expensive storage app but don’t expect the most expensive quality.

- I really wanted to like Dropbox

This is a review on Dropbox in general. I wanted to use Dropbox to back up files I accumulate on both my phone and my computer over time onto a cloud. This includes work files (minimal though) and (mostly) personal photos/videos. But I have so many issues syncing files whether it be from my phone or my computer, I just can’t do it anymore; it takes way too much time. And I’ve had the paid version for a couple months now! I thought maybe Dropbox just had a learning curve but the issues are perennial. I constantly have to troubleshoot the syncing and google solutions for things like clearing the cache on my Mac. It’s like I have to treat Dropbox like a baby, only back up 50 photos at a time or it glitches and never uploads at all. Even troubleshooting pages from the Dropbox website don’t solve my problems, even if it’s only 4 simple steps. I don’t understand—I thought DropBox was a large and reputable company used by professionals. I’m using Dropbox for mostly light, personal reasons and it doesn’t work properly. Looks like I’m going to have to back up the old fashioned way: external hard drives.

- Great app except...

Overall this is a great app. It allows you to categorize your files just like on a computer with folders and sub-folders, etc. It is relatively easy to move files around from your ipad or phone, send them to another app to markup, and upload. The main problem I have with this app is the buttons at the bottom of the page when you are viewing a document. They have recently added a big blue button right in the middle at the bottom that says OPEN. The grid and magnifying glass buttons to the left of that were bad enough but now I have to try and read around the big OPEN button as well. I use Dropbox a lot for quizzing myself and I’ll save questions/answers and scroll through them, answering them in my head as I go. The buttons get in the way of reading my questions because scrolling too much will show me the answer. These buttons need to be added into the top banner or lower banner and not on their own. It would make this a 5 star app for me!

- It deleted my entire Desktop

After a recent computer crash I had I was attempting to put things back to normal and reinstalled Dropbox. After it installed and logged in it was already full but attempted to copy and sync my entire desktop. This didn’t happen before when I first installed it and it began lagging my entire computer. So I tried deleting the folder but it took my entire desktop from my computer and multiple files ranging from personal and work. Trying to recover failed because there file box it was trying to sync was only a partial download and only had file folder names and none of the content. I’m not gonna pay for an app that will try to take on more than it can handle on the free plan. I’ve only used this app to make it easier to share files between computer to phone not entire programs from the desktop nor did I ask it to sync. I might have screwed by a simple update for the sync computer but I never had an option for how to sync it and I usually have to initiate it but this was unexpected and stacked up on current problems.

- All files lost and not given a refund

Edit: The company’s response is unacceptable to me, neither taking accountability for their lack of communication or defrauding me out of my money. I will never be using or recommending their services to anyone and with these business practices I am sure they will go out of business sooner rather than later! I found charges on a credit card statement that I thought had been cancelled going back two years with a monthly subscription to Dropbox. Because the account was linked to an old email address that I could not recover, I lost about a thousand photos of my family and travels. When I contacted Dropbox the agent I communicated with refused to speak with me on the phone, could not recover my photos, would not refund me the monthly subscription that I had been paying for this “service” unless I gave them my credit card number over email, AND would not let me speak to anyone else. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would, this is a horrible company. Google Drive is superior in every single way and I have never had a single issue with them!!

- One last thing

I’m really happy u added a Dark version to it, now I’m not straining my eyes with all the white, I never liked bright things, but to get to the point, there’s one last thing I would love for u to add to the app. I download audio files on Dropbox and I use it to listen to it when ever my WiFi decided to cut out for a few hours (ya it does that I’ve been trying to get it fixed) now it plays the files just fine, but whenever the song ends, it doesn’t go to the next one, so I have to stop whatever I’m doing, go the the app, and either replay the same song or just find a new one to listen too. And I don’t like being stopped in the middle of drawing or doing work. Is there a way u could add a media player or something? Like when u play a music or video file it just goes or opens up the media player? Plz if u can do it I’ll be very great full, I'd definitely have less distractions when I do my work.

- Scary! Shared link - My recipient has access to my Dropbox account

Hi. I have been using Dropbox for many years now. And it’s in my top three apps of about 200 apps in my iPhone. I will still “after this incident” give 5*. But something SCARY happened to me today. It goes like this..... Today I sent five links to one of my clients. I sent the links via outlook app on iphone 11 pro. After few hours my client called me back and said "I can see ALL your folders in your DropBox Account". I went to my account shared tab, so I may delete those links. Suprisingly those links are not in the shared link list. Then I went to the security tab in settings and I changed my password. Then I logged out from dropbox in my phone, and sent an email with shared links to myself. When I click the links I received, they automatically open my dropbox, though I'm signed out. To confirm that I launched my dropbox app but it asks me to login. Finally. I took down ALL my files and transferred them to my iCloudrive . My Dropbox account is empty now! Anyway. I think this is a big security issue. For now, can some one help me to expire the liniks which I sent to my client. Or is there a way to recall an email that I sent fifteen hours ago. outlook app for iphone. please help. thanks

- Stop changing stuff!

Why do you guys constantly insist on changing the whole interface of the app? Seriously. Every update things are different, and not in a good way. Also, I can’t scroll down on my synced folders anymore. It makes my files disappear when I try. This started after the recent update. I’m not one of those “let me speak to your manager” kind of people but I just had to let you know how bad my experience has been so far. Please fix it, and leave it that way unless there’s a really important bug to fix. Also gave you 5 stars because I know you’re hard working people over there and I pay for pro. Don’t hate the app, just hate the constant changes to the overall look of the app that honestly seem more like a step backward than forward.

- Attach a Dropbox File to an Email from Within Gmail Not Supported on an iPad

I am paperless and use DropBox for literally everything business and personal, therefore, I find it extremely annoying and cumbersome that when composing an email using Gmail on my iPad I cannot attach a file directly from Dropbox. When I select the attach function (paper clip), the only options for attachment sources that appear are Google Drive, camera roll, and recents. The online help forums state that I should approach the problem in reverse, namely, open my file in DropBox then select Open File in Gmail. While this does open a new Gmail message with the file as an attachment, this backward workaround is useless if I already have started composing an email within Gmail because the attachment cannot be assigned to another preexisting email within Gmail. Also, there seems to be no way to attach more than one file to the same email. Email attachments are a very basic function that every user needs so I would think DropBox would make fixing this issue a priority.

- Too much money for notta lotta “service”

After the recent update, DropBox stopped working properly for camera-roll upload on my iPad. Their solution? Remove the app, forget the network, fully restart the iPad, re-connect to the network, and re-install the app. Seriously? Good thing I have nothing else to do ... oh, wait. Basement flooded. So yeah, I have something else to do that's rather urgent. Good news is that yes, this did in fact resolve the issue, but really, I have other things to do in my life than reset apps with updates that fail. Especially when paying $75/month for the business version. For $75 a month I expect a MUCH better UI, amazing support, in-file search (not just the file titles), and so much more. Instead, we get the un/re-install merry-go-round, an ok UI, low-availability support (US normal business hours only), and an amazingly klugey sync setup. Heaven help you if your Mac has an external drive. What happens when you get a new Mac? It downloads everything from Dropbox again, even though all I did was remove the USB plug from the old machine to the new. Good job, Dropbox. Well done. Now I gotta wait for 4T of data to re-synch. Their super awesome support response? Well, we told you external drives might not work as expected. I’m totally looking for another service. Seriously, $900 a year for this? I feel like an idiot for locking myself into this “service”.

- The love is gone...

I used to love Dropbox. Started using it when I was a student when it first came out. Now I used it mostly for ebooks in the .prc files and export directly to Kindle. Have it on both my Iphone and Ipad. But for some reason after the last update I cannot directly export those books to Kindle anymore. When I click on the file Dropbox doesn't recognize it as a Kindle document anymore and came across as data and said it is incompatible with Kindle when exporting. I have been doing it for years. It still works on my Iphone because I have not updated. I was planning to upgrade to a better account but with this issue I am about to jump ship and forget Dropbox altogether. Every major update brings more headache. I am considered tech savvy and can navigate thru pretty much major upgrade/updates on most apps. But this is just too much. I have many files in .prc and now cannot export.

- Never liked Dropbox and still don’t

This app is confusing and hard to use. A friend sent me a Dropbox link of a song file, and when I clicked on it I got the option to either get the song in the browser or “download the app,” which I had already done. I clocked the latter option, and it just brought me to the App Store. When I clicked open no notice appeared about the download; it just took me to the app. As far as I can tell there’s no way to search through emails or Facebook messenger from the Dropbox app to download the link. I then went back to the link and clicked the other option, “open in browser,” which took me to a playable file but again gave me no options to download the file. I’ve always had problems with Dropbox, and the only time I use it is when someone shares something with me on it. This was one of those times, and though this was my first time using the iPhone app, I came away from it disappointed as usual.

- Great except keeps losing recent files

99% of the time when I used this app, it is to do something with one of the three or four files I have most recently edited. For some reason this app keeps losing track of those, which makes it take much longer to use. Last time it was because they forced dropbox paper towns artificially find a recent list, this time the paper staff is back again and all my recent files have disappeared. There is no option to remove the paper spam from the recent list. For bonus points they say it’s easy to contact them if you have problems about the app. It isn’t. When I finally found a way, their support page doesn’t work; it won’t let me choose a device and therefore won’t let submit a ticket. This is of course on my iPhone, the same device the app is running on, using safari, the default and dominant browser. Ridiculous.

- Now that it’s fixed, it works well.

A few days after leaving this review with a one star rating the issue was fixed. When this app is working it’s quite good. This app was great until a few weeks ago when an update removed the ability to close a file and have the entire screen be for the titles of files. As it is now, the only way one can view titles of files that are more than seven characters or so is to start the process of moving a file which then gives a screen that shows the titles. I pay annually for Dropbox and thus have another 9 months before it will be financially feasible to switch services, but if you have not already paid for Dropbox, I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PAY FOR THIS app. At least until such time as they correct this issue. It is practically unusable as is.

- Five stars for completely disappointing me!!

I’ve had this app for a while now. They promise to keep all your pictures safe “NO MATTER WHAT” which is all a lie! Let’s say u lose access to the account for a bit so you are inactive with it. Well without them even asking for your permission, they decide to erase your account and all the pictures you saved with it!! I completely believed them like an idiot and deleted my pictures and gave it to them so they can “KEEP IT SAFE” and without even consulting me or thinking about the fact that I have important pictures and things I actually wanted them to keep safe, they just erase and pretend like nothing ever happened. I completely do not recommend this app!! PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! GET EVERALBUM OR EVEN GOOGLE PICTURES BUT DO NOT USE THIS!!!

- Dropbox doing everything they can to devalue the free account

I know that Dropbox needs to make money to survive but going from $0 to $120/yr is a huge leap for what is now a commodity service. I don’t need 2TB of storage and there’s nothing in between. For cloud storage all I need is like 20GB (which Dropbox doesn’t even offer). For secure cloud backup use something like Backblaze. The new-ish three device limit is so annoying I am likely to just swap over to Box and be done with Dropbox. I have like 6 devices that I used to sync up. Removing free features certainly won’t “convince” me of the value of Dropbox paid plans and is more an indicator of how little I can trust Dropbox. Perhaps it’s intended to get rid of customers who won’t pay $120/yr. At least they haven’t had a security breach (that I’m aware of) for a few years. Please remember to encrypt any files on Dropbox that you don’t want someone else to read.

- Now Requires App Subscriptions

After years of being able to view PDFs, Spreadsheets and Documents, the app now forces one to subscribe to Adobe, Excel, etc. To what purpose? Those of us not using it for business are not trying to update anything: we’re only wanting to view documents that we generate elsewhere. Without the option of “view only,” this app has become useless and only gets one star as Apple won’t allow zero. Edit to Response to Developer’s Reply: I am able now to either open a password protected file for view-only by selecting the “go” key on the keyboard, bypassing the “open” icon for Excel, or ignoring the “go” key and selecting the “open” icon to follow the Excel pathway to edit the file. Thanks! Response to Developer’s Reply: Your reply is demonstrably false. Despite the indications in your help link, the App stopped opening Excel and PDF files that are password protected without using Excel and Adobe. There’s nothing like entering a password in response to Dropbox and then dealing with the prompt maze of those applications to finally get another password screen from them. After years of successfully entering file passwords at your prompt, this happened after *your* upgrades and before I chose to update to iOS 13.3 from 12.x. This is all on you.

- Love DB, wish I could afford you

I don’t remember when I signed up for DB, but over that time I’ve been able to save stuff that I couldn’t find a place to save on my iPad. Do I sound digitally challenged, I am. I realize DB must be an excellent tool for business, etc, but as an individual Im thankful to use it to keep my info safe and organized. I wish there was a low-mid level sub price, because it would be worth it to me to have a secure site I trust. I understand marketing to business and generating revenue, but I’ll bet there are lots of individuals, who don’t need 2 TB of storage, who would like a safe option with a reputable site...(and don’t want to seem like unappreciative mooches). In any case, thank you. FIVE STARS!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

- Deleted all my photos

I received emails from Dropbox saying my account was being deleted due to inactivity. (This is a data STORAGE service. How active is one supposed to be?). Their website said data would not be deleted for 2 weeks after the user’s account was closed. I contacted customer support the day I received the email that my account had been closed. I followed the online instructions to reactivates account. However, my photos were gone!! Customer service was not able to help retrieve the photos, nor provide an explanation as to why they were deleted within hours after the account was closed. Your data is not safe on this site, especially with the free version. Dropbox, don’t offer a free version if you are not going to protect the user’s data. I am not referring to the security of the site, but rather the lack of regard they have for the data of people using their site. Two words: Google Drive Bye Dropbox.

- 🚫 Not upgrading

After looking down the long list of seriously bad recent reviews, I’m NOT doing the latest upgrade (operating under the theory “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”). What I’m using now, while far from perfect, is adequate; I don’t have to wrestle constantly with the software, and I know what workarounds I need to employ to get ‘er done, so…its not a perfect world, but no new surprises. I already knew their customer support was nonexistent; I have a “story” of my own. I hope someone sues them for false advertising (for claiming they have customer support). I’d say it’s possible to win that in a court of law: if someone pays for a product and substantially relies on the written description of something (“we have customer service available to serve you,” or whatever is written), there’s a case to be made if the person or business incurred a provable loss due to that reliance. Hmmm… 🤔 Dropbox appears to have gone the way of so many apps - it’s all about the Benjamin’s (as opposed to quality, reliable customer support). But, of course, the less peeps employed, the better the bottom line looks. I noticed, however, that their marketing department must be working overtime. How a 4.7 star rating is possible with as many really bad (recent) reviews is absolutely beyond me. Of course, no one would ever skew the review numbers to make an app look more attractive, would they? 🙄

- Garbage for how much everyone is using this service

My buddy has been trying to send me links on Dropbox for years and i used to always have problems with them yet I’m very computer savvy. I finally just signed up for an account because I was forced to transfer some legal documents. As far as I’m concerned dropbox is poorly designed. It should be so extremely simple yet it it is so extremely frustrating. On the desktop I have to login only to get to another page where I have to login again I go back to the first page it seems to be a verifiable page on by dropbox yet it just takes me to another login page very frustrating. Yesterday I’m trying to send the second MP4 file to my lawyer and it just won’t share it this year option is not even there. I could go on but I don’t care. I will pretty much avoid dropbox as much as possible and look for another file sharing service like you should too !!!!

- Gone down hill

This use to be great but now it is horrible When I am in need and there is a issue there is no support. The support is so bad it just as well be non existent They have a silly chat box that serves no reason other than to frustrating you more . Twitter support for a company is a sign someone is hiding for their responsibility. If need they don’t respond! Not here is the worst one A community based support meaning the owner of this community is so lazy it is passing its duty to the customers! When I made a post it took 5 days to get a response then the person could not help . The drop box feature and app doesn’t play well with others and is absolutely blocked by Chrome so sync a resume through Drop box is a fight every single time . If you have important stuff you need to save don’t do here because if no improvements are made you will lose access and with lame support options that means you are left out to dry! If your our paying for a premium services from here then you better make arrangements because any company than is unprofessional enough to charge people money without a customer support service is bad news and the reviews are starting to reflect this. There are other options that are free with 3 times the storage of DropBox and Drive that work beautifully with all browsers so google alternatives .

- Connect A computer

Oh my gosh! I was having a difficult time logging in on my desktop - trying to remember my password and it wouldn’t let me in. I figured I’ll just continue to use the app on my phone, until I saw the “Connect A Computer” button. I pressed it and in a matter of seconds (I’d say less than 45secs) I was able to get into my account on my desktop computer. It was just three easy steps! I’ve been using Dropbox for almost 8 years and thought it was good but nothing outstanding enough to write a review until now. I just hate the little badge icon that appears on a document when saved in Dropbox. I hide it but it comes back... All good tho!

- Music Player?

I’ve been using Dropbox for years. It’s great. One thing I’ve always wanted to have though was a music player that would play consecutive songs or playlists/folders. I have many original music projects going on at any given time and I like to be able to listen to them for further writing inspirations whenever I have a free minute, which is usually when I’m riding my bike from one place to another. I end up having to look down at my phone while I’m riding in order to start the next song and it can get kinda dicey while riding a bike. I have no other issues with the app besides not being able to listen to my music files consecutively. That would make it perfect, for me anyway. Thanks, keep up the good work!

So this is perfect. I can get things from my ox to my phone. Everything about this is useful. Except for the fact that downloading the application on your laptop never works. Nothing I ever upload on it shows up on my phones app. It’s horrible. It takes 10 times longer on the website and half the time it cancels. The website works, but the app on pc doesn’t. The big issue I have is that I uploaded it to the app on my pc. But I realized it didn’t work so I deleted off of that and went to the website. Big mistake. It deleted that ENTIRE FILE! I am not happy with that. And the thing is it didn’t even tell me it would! It didn’t even ask for confirmation! It’s a terrible thing. Please fix this and this will be perfect. Oh and one other thing. WHY DO YIU ONLY GET 5 GIGABYTES WHEN YOU DON’T PAY FOR IT. It also doesn’t help that they really overprice it.

- Not worth the hassle if your expecting to store things long term

This was one of the first file sharing cloud apps. However, there are much better more efficient apps out there now as the way they promote cloud is old news. Now with cloud you can usually use the storage with or without being active for x amount of months etc. it will always be there so long as you don’t delete from it . That is not the case with this app and seems to be a common complaint . Many have lost important files including myself on account of not seeing a deactivation email. Moral of the story is drop box is out google cloud and icloud are in . Drop-box May as well be obsolete when compared to the other Choices now , that don’t delete your files just after 12 months of inactivity.. 🤷🏽‍♀️

- Picture & Video upload is broken

Picture & video upload now constantly crashes. Very slow upload when it does work. Refuses to upload when the battery is low (even if its plugged in and currently charging!) If I have low battery don't you think it would be IMPORTANT to be able to upload/backup what I can before it dies?!? At the very least they should be an option that says 'continue anyway'. And if the phone is already charging I don't see why that matters? I can't upload a SINGLE picture? Really? Why does dropbox decide when I can or can't upload pics? This used to be a great app but recently it's falling apart. The media player is missing many desired features like fast forward/rewind 15 seconds, etc. Please fix the app! I've been a long time customer but I'm finding more frustrations than conveniences. Please fix the pic and video upload! App constantly locks up and crashes.

- A love affair gone sour. Where’s the Integrity?

I LOVED the old Dropbox. The more bells and whistles you added the worse mess my Dropbox life became. I relied on you for when I traveled and I am a writer, and am heavily research and archive needy. It used to work for me. Now I am somehow getting crossfeed from Microsoft Word, and the files that get into Drop Box, just show me weird icons with “data”. But no data or files. This is beyond maddening. I upgraded to add more storage for the creative arts work my husband and I do, and now my photos are stored in some bizarre, indecipherable logic, and with over 12,000 of them...that is a drag. I agree with every single person who said, it used to work great and the. Upgrades shoot me in the foot for several weeks of forensic admin to get it sorted. I have work to do besides the fact that customers are not paid to work for Dropbox. Please become more user friendly else I abandon Dropbox, and move my data world to my own online island! Thanks for taking this as not a complaint, but a call for the Integrity of the initial DropBox Platform.

- Dropbox has been hard, but paintings look amazing

Ok so really Dropbox is good at some things and amazingly competent at other things. They will not support the Dropbox app ( I didn’t know) the instructions are finally being edited for clarity and ease of understanding. Answers can be hard to get, although they reply fairly quickly, simple answers can take multiple emails. Now the amazing way they make my digital scans of paintings is off the charts!! Stratosphere type work. The files fit the whole frame for mobile responsive design. The file handling can be screwed up to easy( layers and nested files and folders) as you learn. I had a hard time learning Dropbox, but it was mostly my fault and now I’m really enjoying Dropbox and trying to explore all the options available.

- Long time user - one ask!

Hi there! I’ve been with Dropbox for what feels like a common law marriage length of time. I’ve been backing up all of my photos for years to Dropbox rather than keeping them in my iCloud. There is one feature however that I’m DYING for you to implement. In the Apple photos app you have this open search technology where you can search “apples” or “beach” or “Mom” and the photos get easily pulled up for you. I would be over the moon thrilled if you could build a search functionality like this to the Dropbox app. I spend so much time digging through years of images. It would take forever to move them back to iCloud just to make it easier to index but I am tempted! Thanks so much for hearing me out. Appreciate it!

- Horrible

Useless app. Not user friendly. I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to open a file, seriously an hour, and could not get past “download Dropbox paper”. Never succeeded in opening one file, much less sharing files between devices. Googled help for this app and was told to click buttons that did not exist (but clearly should exist!). You would think an app that is supposed to help you manage documents would at least have a straightforward way to open a file. That’s the most basic thing most users would want to do and after one hour a person of at least average intelligence can’t do it. I typed the name of my document in the search bar and it told me it wasn’t found. Double checked for typos, again it wasn’t found. Tried with just one word which I knew to be contained in many of my document files... still “not found”. Ridiculous and frustrating.

- Worst service ever!!!!!

I have been a Custumer for over 10 years no problem. I have a yearly contract with them. This year they took the money out of my account. In June 2018 and turned off my service in July 2019. I have been fighting with them for months I gave them the receipt from my account and the Apple store. The app say active until June 2019 but when I go the the app it say full must pay money. They said they didn’t get a payment so I need to pay again. I have tried to contact them. You can only talk to them though email or twitter they will not call you. They don’t respond or slow to respond. After months of trying to get in touch with them and proving I paid. They still did not turn on my service. I called the BBB on them and they never responded. Something so simple to solve has turn me off from this product and has made me find other services better than this.

- Unnecessary changes

Sometimes simpler is better. WHYWHYWHY does everyone try to turn their apps into a social media platform? Why. I’ve tolerated the various updates and additions because Dropbox has done one thing extremely well: transfer files and sync them to my Mac desktop. In that one function Dropbox has an unparalleled lead. But Dropbox PAPER? No, we use google docs for that and always will. Sorry. Comments? Not needed, rarely used. Sharing? YESYESYES that’s what it’s for. Sharing files. Photo sync, sure why not? I don’t use it but good to have. I’ve watched many developers “upgrade” their apps right out of business, making them cumbersome and glitchy in the process. PLEASE STOP you have such a robust platform already! We don’t need the toys, it just makes the app messy and childish. It’s hard enough to keep things synced and shared over a variety of different uses. I’ve been using Dropbox for maybe 10 years and run a whole business with it. Has always worked properly and stood the test of time. Your desire to compete in areas where you aren’t needed is going to downgrade what you are #1 in—transferring and sharing files easily and without confusion.

- The one app I can’t live without

What can I say about an app that gives me access to everything I have from my cell phone- simple intuitive fail-free. The biggest tech mistake of my life was switching briefly to another service which lost my data and treated my like dirt when I asked for help. There are few things I’d like Dropbox to change but they aren’t specific to the app. The only app bug I’d like to see changed is the folder size limit which does not apply to desktop versions. it has been an inconvenience to break up one of my large folders, but still worth it to have my whole life with me anytime anywhere.

- Great, but lacking

Dropbox was good, good for storing all my files, but it had too little space. 2 GB. For all the files I need stored, I had to make 4 TOTAL Dropbox accounts. At a certain point I realized I can’t deal with this anymore. And I look into transferring my files to Google Drive. Giving me 15 GB of storage FOR FREE! I try to export my files to drive, only exports one file. I search all around! Nowhere does it say “export to drive”. I get I could have done it manually, but we’re talking folders and 6-8GB’s worth of documents, data, pictures, and whatever else. No way. I find a chrome extension, connect the account, let it sync my Dropbox to my drive! All of my dropboxes are COMPLETELY useless now! Don’t get me wrong, Dropbox is great. But hey lack in storage and refuse to give you options to transfer elsewhere. They don’t want to let you go.

- “Camera Roll” is not the same as iOS’s Camera Roll

Reply to the Developer Response: The Developer’s reply discussed automatic photo upload. However, I was not talking about automatic upload and did not use the term. Therefore, I have modified my review to clarify. —- Review —- When manually selecting photos for upload from an iOS device, Dropbox is shows an iOS Moments view of iOS photos. Dropbox calls this “Camera Roll” even though it does not match the iOS Camera Roll. Worse, Dropbox does not offer a way to select photos for upload using a view that’s in iOS Camera Roll order. You have to remember the date you took a photo or do a whole lot of scrolling if you have more than just a handful of photos (scrolling is required because of the screen space wasted by an iOS Moments view). This is a not user-friendly approach. Another issue is that you must tap each photo instead of being able to slide your finger across the screen to select multiple. These are not the only usability issue I have with Dropbox and I use Dropbox less than I would like because of them. However, it still remains somewhat useful to me so I gave it three stars.

- Camera Roll Does Not Auto Upload To Customized Folders

My biggest issue for a few years now is that when taking photos I could have those photos uploaded to specific customized photos. This was an option via settings 2 years ago but for 2 years now it defaults to a folder “Photo” with no chance of selecting which folder. My business has 7 field agents taking about 30 photos each day of real estate properties. I use to be able to create folders for each user and have their photos upload to their specific folder per device. In the office it was very easy to sort out which photos were taken by each agent. Now they dump all into one single folder “PHOTOS”. I have talked to development about this but they tell me it was a 3rd party license called Carousel that allowed them to upload to customized folders but they failed to renew the 3rd party license. Now I get emails stating as of May 7, 2019 my version of the product will fail to operate unless I update but when I go to App Store it tells me I have the latest version. Should the product fail to operate as of May 7, 2019 we will move everything to ICLOUD because the support and tools we need simply don’t exist anymore. This product that once was very good simply does not support my business workflow anymore.

- Need Office 365 subscription?

I have been using free office apps on mobile devices and a 2011 personal/home license on an iMac. Now a message pops up saying I need an Office 365 subscription to edit Excel spreadsheets and Word docs on my iPhone. Is this an error? Or have Microsoft’s or your policies changed? ————————— Thank you 🙏 for your response. I do not have a device with a screen 📺 over 10 in. Just an IPhone and iPad mini. The prompt says sign in with an office 365 account in order to be able to edit, but it turns out you can just sign in w/your regular old Microsoft/Outlook account. This is very sneaky of Microsoft. I was almost about to purchase a subscription!

- My ‘go to’ app

Used Dropbox daily for many years now, for saving and uploading attachments on my mobile emails and saving and uploading pictures receipts etc. In some cases I even use it to sign legal forms. My only issue is that lately Say last 3,4 months uploads have been slow and ‘hesitant’ to upload in emails and while in some cases it helps if I open the app itself it isn’t consistent and sometimes I have to give up and wait to access files on my laptop. Would be really fantastic if that functionality can be restored to its original speed and reliability!! Else. Thanks and keep up the good app! Cheers

- Bait and switch paywall tactic

I use a lot of devices. Dropbox was the universally accepted free cloud service and a ton of apps spent a lot of effort making them work with Dropbox because of this. Now Dropbox is behind a paywall if you want to use more than 3 devices. That’s fine and I’ve ditched it for Google and Apple which I pay for and are affordable. The problem is that a ton of apps still only link to Dropbox, something they decided to put weight behind due to Dropbox being accessible by all. Most cloud storage apps allow upgrades for more space if you like their service. A reasonable competitive tactic. Dropbox’s tactic feels manipulative, and more like a random to keep the systems users have already set up between their devices. Dropbox is free to do this. It’s a free market. But users are also free to give them 1 star and ditch their company in response.

- It’s improving but needs basic improvements first

They’ve been improving the app for months now, and while I appreciate the improvements they still have some basics they need to work on. For instance, sending a larger file - like an iPhone video - directly to Dropbox almost always fails or takes way too long. Also, Dropbox will not upload my camera roll unless I have the app open and not just on the background (like the settings claim) I have to literally have the app open for it to upload my camera roll. That’s annoying. If your phone locks while it’s uploading, it stops uploading. These are basic issues that should be fixed before working on opening word docs within the app.

- Dropbox Business - Zero technical support :(

I have used Dropbox for many years and it’s essential to my workflow I recently encountered a synching problem which prevented me synching my files. This is a huge deal for me. On the advice of the Dropbox team I upgraded to the Business Option. I was promised advanced tech support. I will spare you the long details but simply put I have been totally abandoned, phone support simply get you off the phone as fast as possible, chat app is either not operational or refers you to email... Emailing the support team as I have done thirty or so times simply generates yet another ticket number. I have waited 6 days for the advanced technical team to get back to me... Nothing ;( When the Business team were selling me the upgrade I had staff members all over me ... when I needed Dropbox Support... .. I just very polite empty standard promise email and now not even a reply to any of my polite emails Dropbox is great til it goes wrong ... then it’s a disaster and you are stuck

- Good For The Most Part

It’s a pretty good app, I prefer it over google photos. The only thing is that when I upload more than 10 photos at a time, they just won’t download. This is a major problem because I’m switching devices and want to save all of my photos, I want to upload all the photos I want to keep at the same time and have them down load instead of just sitting there with a gray bar under them or saying “waiting to download.” Its fine when it’s only downloading one picture at a time, (since that happened before) but I don’t have control over how many pictures download at a time (and it’s usually four) please fix this!

- Needs some changes

So first off I use Dropbox constantly and is a huge part of saving my photos, videos and files . Since the latest updates I see two glaring issues, first is that the background upload feature has not worked properly for a while and needs to be fixed. I don’t want to have the screen open on Dropbox all night just so everything backs up. This leads into my other issue, you used to be able to see what was being uploaded with its progress and would tell you how many more files still need to be. When it was finished it would say there is nothing left. Now all of these features have been taken away, please bring them back!!

- Currently not usable with iOS 14

I really love dropbox, but recently since ios13, the app is completely unresponsive while using dropbox connected to the “files” utility app on iPad or iPhone. When using dropbox through files- Dropbox will constantly crash/ desync folders. Also I try to batch import images into dropbox this way and it just constantly crashes or stops uploading images to the internet. In many cases if I have to try at least 5 times to get all my files moved into the right folder. It’s extremely time consuming and really makes me feel like using a more reliable cloud storage like google drive or iCloud Drive. Both iCloud Drive and google drive do NOT have these same issues. It’s only dropbox. Please fix your app and make sure it’s working properly with the new iOS! I’ll change my review!

- Used to be much better

A while back, the option to create new folders as items are saved from the share sheet was removed. Since then, I’ve had to add the extra step of going into Dropbox after saving, creating folders & then filing what I’ve saved. This annoyance has been a noticeable interruption to my workflow. I’m also very put off by the lack of notification before my annual auto renewal. At around $100 a year for added storage, one would think a heads up, or even a “thanks for continuing with us” so could add the date to my calendar for the following year would be in order. The lack of security issues is appreciated, but more communication and leaving existing features in place is also a must for me, so I’ll be looking for something else.

- Version 162.2: bug report + essential app + how to make it better

BUGS: When there are photos to be uploaded, even with the badges-notification turned on, there’s no badge-number on the icon. In the Account tab, under Camera Uploads, when switching “Upload Videos” off, there’s no change in the description underneath. Please fix. PROS: Very reliable, does what it’s supposed to without any fuss. Syncs fast across my devices. Has the option to make files available offline. Updated version now uploads the edited version of a photo, instead of only the original version. Regular updates to squash bugs and improve the experience. HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER: In Account-Settings, change “Cancel” to “Done.” Allow it to search for two words in the search bar, not just one. Provide more options for upgrades to Plus. I currently use around 8GB, so I don’t need the 1000GB option. A 100GB option would make sense. CONCLUSION: An essential app for file backup and storage. If you liked this review, please long-press it and mark it as “helpful.”

- Lovely to see how Dropbox adapt working with my reading workflow

Since a friend introduced me by sharing a link about Dropbox for a file I need about 6 years ago, I have adapted the name and brand. Thanks for that. Seeing how it’s has grown to be involved when I started working with other devices, Dropbox kindly supported my digital storage needs on the go, now even better allowing me to keep track as proof evidence of PDF files of websites (for collaborative purposes) I read In Safari on the iPad is awesome so thank you for following me on my digital journey.

- Could be MUCH better

I have close to 100 photos I shared with myself - I run a photography Instagram & like to edit the photos, watermark & upload them via my phone - I sent them to myself after uploading them from my camera to laptop, and now I have to click each one in the folder individually to “export” them to my phone. Surely there’s a better/quicker way where I can select either all in the folder, or just the folder from my files & “export all” to my phone? It’s so incredibly time consuming, but it’s the only way I can do things. I have some very powerful editing apps on my phone, and nothing on my laptop (it’s a work laptop anyway!) so there is no way I can do all the work via my laptop.

- Massive storage hog

I love dropbox and use it for everything - always will! But i recently got an alert that my ipad storage was nearly full, and that dropbox was taking up 25GB+ worth of space. The fun part is that i have NO offline files saved, so that number should have been 0. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app to fix the problem, but i’m reeeeally hoping this doesn’t become a regular issue that i have to do over and over. If you’re having a problem like this, take a look at your offline files, clear your cache within the app, and if all else fails, uninstall and reinstall to get your storage back.

- Needs to be able to upload on the background

This app is amazing but needs to be able to upload files on the background without having the app open and the screen unlocked, I've been trying to save 10 files from my phone to a folder for the last 3 days... it's really frustrating... specially since the screen locks automatically every 3 minutes

- Good before they got greedy

I was one of the early adopters of Dropbox and also used their top tier payed plan. These guys eventually got greedy, doubled all of their prices and forgot about the people who made them. Anyway then I looked at Microsoft again. Wow the office 365 suite has come a long way since I first looked at it and integrates well with PC and Apple well now. For half what I had to pay Dropbox I can put my whole team on 365 with unlimited storage, plus the full office suite all included. One Drive and Onenote are awesome. I also shut my Evernote account and switched to OneNote. I work paperless on an iPad Pro + PC and everything syncs beautifully. Short answer, you don’t need this greedy company anymore. Ditch em.

- Picture show everywhere

Hi. I liked dropbox from very begining since i start using. But i think there might be little more improvement. The picture which we moved from POTOS to FILES create under different names, should not be shows up in the Photos afterward. Once we moved them from Photos to Files they must be erased from there because we are moving them not just copying. Hope you will think about it.

- Keeps shutting down Update

The latest update seemed to break it. Keeps re-opening at the login stage. Fixed now. Had to reinstall. They made a change without telling me that the limit on syncing devices is now 3. So it wouldn’t let me in. It was clogged up supposedly synching devices I no longer even own from years ago. It would have made sense to drop off older devices. Very annoying.

- Playback is awful

App is good to upload documents and make them available on the go or at your other computers, but this is hardly revolutionary in 2018. Dropbox has pioneered that and credit to them for that. What irks me about this app is that you have no good controls to playback movies or audio files. Try skipping back a few seconds and you find yourself swiping back and forth to seek to the right spot, wasting a lot of time. That should be as common in 2018 as making files available on the go.

- Love it!

**Update** the developing team listened to their clients and added this feature which works perfectly. Keep it up team!! 👌 Hi, I see this has been raised by another reviewer using the app for social media tasks. I also would like to bulk select and download images from the same folder. Sharing and exporting then saving to phone each time is horrific. Otherwise I love the app 🎉

- Constantly crashing

After logging on the app insisted that I was not logged in. Then logging out to reset the app I was not able to log back in. When later I was able to login and mistyped my password the app sort of froze in a state where no matter what I typed it told me the system wasn’t available. Today trying to login again the same freeze occurred. Deleting and reinstalling the app allowed me another chance to login but when again I mistyped my long password it again froze. One last uninstall and reinstall allowed me access long enough to download my videos and cancel my subscription

- My most reliable cloud sharing

I’ve found Drop Box to be the most reliable, efficient way to share files (video, photos and large presentations) with colleagues (internal and external). I travel frequently and use a few of different cloud based sites, none work as well and as easily as drop box.

- Missing simple features acknowledged in earlier reviews

A review by ‘SparkieGal’ dated a year ago (currently Dec 2019) mentions the lack of the ability to select all the files in a folder at once for export. And how you have to manually select each file in a folder, which is really frustrating when having to export folders containing many files. “Select all” has been basic UI functionality in apps for decades and this key feature is still not there in the Dropbox iOS app TEN YEARS after its 2009 launch.

- Would benefit from a loop button on music.

Hello! I use this app to download and listen to music in the background of when I do tasks such as checking messages or creating artworks, but I noticed that it lacks a looping option for such files. I, and perhaps many others, would benefit from a loop button for music in order to not have to repetitively press replay over and over. Thank you for your time.

- Add a hyperlink option

I use the app for storing plans and drawing for use on the run and while onsite. Would be great if there was an option to utilise hyperlinks. There are apps out there that after you've uploaded your plans, all detail, section and elevation callouts on the plans automatically activate, creating hyperlinks. These allow whoever accesses the plans to easily navigate between plans. Would be a great addition to Dropbox!!

- 3-device linked limit

I have been enjoying using dropbox in the last few years and recommending this to a lot of my family members, friends and colleagues. Though, I think the recent move of dropbox to only 3-device linked on free account has a huge impact on many people. I can no longer use dropbox on my phone, tablet, laptop and work computer. This had led me to use onedrive. Quitting dropbox is sad but the cutting off current users’ benefits has a result. P/s: I think 5-device link would be a sufficient number.

- 💩 Bonus Storage 🤬

Funnily enough I was miffed into believing that recommendations to friends (that DID sign up new accounts), linking apps such as Facebook and/or pretty much writing a review like this would all lead to my Dropbox account being credited extra storage space 🤥 Fool me ! I whole heartedly recommend installing and making the very best use of Dropbox FOR FREE, please don’t expect the promised rewards. So now I have clarified the pitfalls .... allow me to regress and highly recommend the use of this FREE tool.

- Awesome service worth paying for

I couldn’t live without my Dropbox. But on the iPad, I am still wondering why they don’t have a way to support long file names because they end up truncated and there’s no easy way to see them in their entirety. Please add support for different views please, we don’t need empty space to preview our files when we can’t see the full file names anyway!

- Query

I am only a small user with the basic app. My Dropbox is not showing when I touch "send to" and I need to upload some photos for safe keeping. In my looking around I found and deleted an unknown device, someone is in here with me? Spooky.

- No editing on iPad - what’s the point?

Dropbox whilst good in theory makes it so difficult to access on iPad. Not via a browser and so why they created a worthless app is beyond me. My MacBook Pro is currently broken and my files are in Dropbox. I normally edit via a browser in G Docs and whilst it works in a browser on my laptop, it doesn’t work in a browser on iPad. So of course, let’s go get the app..... nope! So again, why bother creating an app when it does nothing different? Such a useless platform.

- Can’t even function

I upgraded from a 7 to a XS last week. On the 7, the app worked amazingly with no problems ever. But since changing, the app freezes all the time. I will get two folders into navigating and it won’t respond until I restart and wait a few minutes. I rename a folder and all the contents of the folder disappear for several hours. It’s been infuriating. I understand that it’s a new device and it can take several weeks to optimise, but for it to freeze from basic usage is a bit absurd.

- Not happy

Trying to contact Dropbox to get advice on how to remove 2 step verification to no avail. Reason being I had a number text messaged to my phone to access my account but when I resigned from my job my employee wouldn’t release my number back to me so now I can’t access my Dropbox account ( with 15 years of family photos etc) Dropbox advise they cannot help me which I find staggering. Surely they must be able to quickly identify me and lift restrictions to gain access. What would happen if the telco went bust what would happen then for people to access their accounts? Be very careful people with your access to accounts Dropbox are happy to take your subscription money but are not any help when it comes to assisting their customers when in a crisis. Very very annoyed and disappointed with Dropbox to say the least.

- Look into this bug please 😩

This app was a little clunky but straightforward nonetheless, now it’s just impossible to use. I can’t export ANYTHING, I have to email photos to myself which literally defeats the purpose of the app. I can’t even view a single document, just an endless loading wheel. My phone is up to date, I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it, logged off/back in and nothing is working to alleviate the issue. Please look into this bug, I don’t mind the app otherwise (when it works!)

- Keeps getting worse over time

A great service and actively developed you would think the iOS app would get better over time? Nope. It’s prettier. But does not feel like an app made by people who enjoy spending time within a file browser. - Information density keeps getting worse at the expense of prettier. At the top of every folder: 1/3 of the screen is taken up by SHARE. Should that be the top priority? - comments on files load like a bad JavaScript web app. Randomly, comments don’t show up at all. - no ability to select all files? - no ability to refresh the view? It’s a syncing service. Shouldn’t it be assumed someone somewhere else is updating things?

- Best in class syncing, not enough space.

Syncs well, seamless operation between desktop, phone, iPad and the application is one I prefer...But 1TB is not whopping anymore. To get 2TB you need a business account which is horrendously expensive. I need 2TB. Other cloud providers are offering 2TB on a lifetime subscription, with an excellent app and security. So back to the free Dropbox account, which is so small to be all but useless..I’ll keep the account, one day you’ll be competitive again.

- The worst app I have ever used

This app is an absolute joke. It constantly crashes, takes such a long time to upload photos or even to make one folder. It’s not user friendly. But the main thing is it that it can take me an hour just to make a folder and then upload 20 photos because it crashes at least 10 times in the process. Considering drop box is used so much by businesses I’m sure you can create an app that can function efficiently.

- Great for PDFs and important documents

This is great for transferring files between my windows pc and iOS devices. I only have the free version so limited storage and you do have to unlink devices regularly but the convenience far outweighs this minor hassle.

- So difficult to cancel.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription (I don’t recall signing up) and it just takes me in circles. Says I cannot cancel. To manage my subscription in App Store yet does not appear under subscription in App Store. Non responsive customer service. Doesn’t merge easily with WIX. Starring photos doesn’t mean anything. Waste of time. Many other programs that I have had ease with that I would prefer to use moving forward like google drive and one drive.

- Best syncing across multiple platforms. Worst sorting.

Dropbox is amazing for syncing and sharing large numbers of files and folders across multiple users and platforms. The sync is totally robust and very fast even for large files and recognizes changes in the smallest of Metadata. The only thing I hate about it is that when you upload photos it can only sort by uploaded date, not created date. This is really frustrating and annoying.

- App crashes when clearing cache

Great app except app crashes every time I try to clear the cache. Doesn’t even display the dialog box asking for confirmation. Just crashes once you hit ‘Clear cache’. Uninstalled & reinstalled the app but the problem remains. Using Mac OS 13.5.1 No problems on the iPhone though - works perfectly, along with the confirmation dialog box.

- Downloading flies to send to people is painful

The assumption that every file I share will be shared via a link and new user account being setup for the recipient on devices leads me to use other methods whenever possible. If the one remaining method of downloading files is removed I will be stopping my paid subscription and moving to another service.

- Why do I suddenly need to pay for off line files?

It was so handy being able to take files off line. And I love that I can view a document for a presentation without constantly having to wake up my iPad. But why do I have to pay for something that used to be free - storage in my own device? Love the app, not the subscription!!

- Why?

Thanks for removing ‘Sort by Date’ in files. Great move! Now I can’t see what I’ve recently uploaded, without scrolling back through hundreds of pics! Also cannot move separate pics between folders anymore. It always reverts to the folder you’re sending from or gives you a limit of 5 other folders to choose from. The folder you want cannot be found. BTW: when are you going to fix Dropbox’s inability to select ALL pics/screenshots from the camera roll? Most times, the last pic or screenshot on my camera roll is either missing, or shoved hundreds of places farther back in the camera roll!!!!!!!!!!! My god this is a frustrating app to use now. I truly hate it. Gonna have to look at other options now.

- 5 star

Sally is so professional, enthusiastic, warm and lovely. What we loved the most about Sally’s photo taking was the black and white photography and how natural the family photos were. Thanks so much and highly recommended Spice Family

I upgraded for a month and as not wanting the extra bonuses I then downgraded. Dropbox proceeded to charge me for that month... that’s okay but then after cancelling Dropbox then charged another month for absolute no reason. I then contacted them to find out what was the issue and they explained how it wasn’t their problem and I would not be receiving a refund. If you get this app DO NOT upgrade as you will be charged even when you have cancelled!

- Needs a redesign

The app works great however the iOS interface needs a complete redesign. Viewing photos as small thumbnails is difficult, no ability to increase the size or change the layout. While the integration is market leading the overall layout and usability is outdated and needs to be modernised.

- Useful, mostly

Dropbox is an extremely useful document and files storage and transfer tool. It does have some irritations, such as the way scrolling can get “stuck” on a particular document, but I use it almost every day.

- Could be better

I came from Google Drive and the Dropbox app (and web interface) are serious less refined. Maybe that’s to be expected though. The app takes 10mins to open any PDF and the web interface consistently fails to upload files (and it isn’t an issue with my internet connection in either case).

- Absolute GARBAGE App ZERO Stars.

Why is the entire sidebar restricted to phone-screen size? I didn't buy a 12.9" iPad in order to have file lists in a strip down the left side of the screen. You obviously did't spend the extea $5/hr to get coders who could conditionally resize screen elements. Why no ability to select and copy FOLDERS? Why no 'select all' functionality within folders? It's an absolute travesty that the lowest possible 'star' rating is a ;1', implying a mark of 20%.; if I delivered a piece of software this hopeless I would not expect to get [aid. I guess you guys are about 10th in the desirable career destinations for coders (both Apple and DropBox, I mean)... so you get second- and third-stringers. Even Microsoft garbage is better than this app.

- Increased cost

Dropbox is a great and useful tool. However, there was a huge hike in the cost which I did not appreciate. I did not have a choice in NOT upgrading My account. I don’t need some of the extras that were added. I was perfectly happy with what I had for $120 a year.

- Just amazing

Love it! Can use the app when I turn off my device which is perfect and can hold lots of documents. Had a bit of trouble logging in but apart from that amazing x

- Keeps running in the background

Dropbox keeps running in the background, I have uninstalled the application multiple times and I do not have camera uploads enabled (I use iCloud photos). Due to running in the background practically 24/7 (as indicated by the battery menu) it drains around 40-70% of my iPhone XS Max battery. Making it last only 4 hours. Ridiculous. Uninstalled for now until they fix this bug.

- I have cancelled

I have cancelled this subscription numerous times can you please confirm it is cancelled I keep being bombarded with message, and I verging on harassment I don’t want the subscription and I cancelled it and I have received another email this evening threatening if I haven’t cancelled I will be charged why am I getting this if I have cancelled? It said it was a free trial and you can cancel with in the time frame which I have done.. I am not happy. © 2019 Dropbox

- Improvements needed

I do not know if it is my account alone but when I go to delete photos off my account, I expect them to be deleted and not reappear if I close and reopen the app. I try and free space up for new photos to be added but it is impossible to happen with this issue.

- Freezing problem

This version of Dropbox did add couple useful features however for some reason it keep freezing all the time it is very annoying

- Very disappointed- unsuitable for professional use

We pay a premium each month for a dependable and functional service. Clients have been left in the dark at the last hour when delivery deadlines and time is of the essence. When link sharing does not work, especially after chasing it up with Dropbox, all credibility is lost. We are not happy customers at all

- An Unknown Error Occurred

Since I updated to my iPhone to iOS 13. Dropbox comes up with an error whenever I try to upload any documents. This is a big problem for me as I have lots of documents I need to upload but can’t. I would greatly appreciate if this problem is fixed ASAP. I have done exactly as recommended to try and fix it: -Sign out -Delete Dropbox -Update my iPhone to 13.2 (was 13.1.2) -Reinstall Dropbox -Sign in -Try to save a file to Dropbox and the same error pops up.

- Scan document feature now buggy

Hi there developers, One of my favourite features of the app is the scan document function. With this latest update it appears to be buggy. Every document I try to scan is pixelated and unreadable. Please look into this! Thanks

- Update - Gotcha !!!!

Cannot insert and paste Dropbox files into your email messages, assume you must now update to paid version, however Dropbox Australia/Apple will not you how much to upgrade, must sign upto free trial and then trapped into re-occurring subscription service. Don’t mind paying for service, but not to be deceived and manipulated. Time to look elsewhere.

- No longer can choose Dropbox

With the new iOS updates. iPad and iPhone I am no longer given Dropbox as a option to download too. When will there be a update to fix this? I’ve always loved Dropbox I would hate to have to delete it.

- Best mobile file sharing app

I use this app for sharing files for both work and personally for music. Absolutely love it! Everything syncs up so fast and no security issues 🙌🏾

- Computer idiot

This is a wonderful service.

- App freezes

App freezes and will NOT load images, export, or even view the images with out the loading image. The only way to obtain images is to log in the old school way and through a web browser

- Major Glitch!

Up until yesterday.. I have used Dropbox for work everyday all day long! And I love it. Easy to use.. never any issues. But now it won’t upload any of my files. It says it’s full , but also tells me I have only used 25% of my available space! So now you want me to pay for more space that I don’t even need? Not happy !!!

- Problèmes à corriger

Des fichiers ne veulent pas ce transférer dans Dropbox et le mode hors-ligne bug souvent. Dropbox prend trop d’énergie dans la batterie.

- How do you download?

How do you download multiple photos from your iPhone to your Dropbox? Either I don’t know how to or there isn’t this provision. Why can’t you select multiple photos and drop them to your Dropbox?

- A ridiculously limited app in 2020. Goodbye, Dropbox.

I love that Dropbox is multiplatform and can be accessed from any device, however 2GB of storage free is laughably stingy in this era. What is anyone supposed to do with that in 2020? I would happily pay for more storage, but 15.99 a month is totally ludicrous! A one-time payment of 15.99 is still a bit expensive but would be 100% worth it; asking for such an amount monthly, on the other hand, is a joke. I must also mention that the Dropbox app now has a three device limit, as a result, productivity and seamless sharing takes a nosedive if you're using this app for school, work, or even as your main cloud storage (I'm sure most people, like myself, have more than three devices). I would recommend using Google Photos, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive for anyone looking for a better, inexpensive, unlimited app that is also multiplatform. Adiós, Dropbox.

- Appreciated!

Consistent great service over years Especially when my files were corrupted and an earlier one had to be used!

- Hello dropbox team

Really good app, easy to access my files and friendly use with other apps. I will be interested to purchase a plan if you build a Remote Desktop app.

- Bugs

Still the app is full of bugs and glitches

- Formatting Nightmare

Dropbox has been a 5-star app that has worked perfectly. But the latest version is a fail. The format of Word documents is glitched on my iPhone with its faint-looking font and indiscriminate bolding. Now I’ll have to try to find out how to dl the previous version.

- 3 device limit unacceptable

The change to 3 device limit is a bad decision. Especially since I only discovered it by unlinking and re-linking a device AS INSTRUCTED BY THE DROPBOX TROUBLESHOOTER TO SOLVE A PROBLEM (which did not get solved by the way) and now cannot access on my phone because it is the 4th device. Will be moving to iCloud and OneDrive as I already have extended storage available there. Too bad as I prefer DropBox functionality, as I have since it first came out. I’ve been a user, fan and proponent forever. Sorry, no more.

- Cash Grab. Now Limits to 3 devices. Find something else.

Well you did Apple a big favour! I have switched to (payed) iCloud. Used to love DropBox (5 stars) but now won’t let me add new devices anymore without upgrading to $160/yr. I have made tonnes of referrals. No more. Who only has 3 devices these days? Try OneDrive or GoogleDrive instead for free, or iCloud if you are a big Apple user.

- Disappointed

We used to use this app often and recommend it to friends NOW for some financial reason they have limited us to 3 devices only. As we charge an account 2 phones 2 iPads and the Pc we are over the limit. I think that asking 15:95 a month for a service we used to get free is highway robbery so try something else.

- Suppose to be a trial

My credit card is charged already. I tried filing for refund on iTunes and apparently I don’t qualify. I thought trial wasn’t suppose to be charged until after?

- I'm quitting Dropbox 👎

Can't wait for the iCloud folder sharing service that's coming this fall. Dropbox used to be my favourite productivity app (by a mile). I've been a paying subscriber for 5+ years. I recommended it to so many people. But now, for some reason, you decided to transform a perfectly seamless experience into a disaster. On the Mac and the iPhone. Now your app is annoying. Now your app now gets in the way. We didn't need a file directory and a dock icon. We needed a simple and seamless solution. You already had it and now you've lost it.

- Terrible

It synced to my ex husbands phone without my permission and we made many attempts to disable his access with no success. They also make it ridiculous to cancel an account! Just awful.

- Slow

This is super slow. I’ve been trying to upload this file for almost an hour and it’s almost half way there. It also isn’t an easy layout. It took me a while to navigate this

- !

There’s a bug or glitch that keeps stopping the app when I try to play a file

- Battery drainer

My device was left idle in sleep overnight. Only this app was found to be running during that window - twice for over a minute, despite iOS “Background App Refresh” is globally turned off. It is a bug.

- Tried a thousand links and article to unsubscribe and here I still am linked to drop box

Worst app I have ever used!

- Not Worth It

With Apple Files and Microsoft Cloud, Dropbox is irrelevant. And I’m tired of the relentless you better upgrade threat.

- Make life more chaotic...

The app doesn‘t show the number of items in the folder. Photos are renamed automatically. How do you share with somebody who doesn‘t have the same amount of Dropbox space? You sent 2gb of Photos but the receiver has only 1gb. „You could buy more space“...yes but I can also use wetransfer for free.

- Major Battery Drain!

Noticed that my battery was losing almost 30% of its charge over night while in power saver mode, literally doing nothing. I examined the battery stats and found that DropBox was the only app running in the background, nonstop! And it’s not like I had made a lot of changes to my folder that needed to sync or update. As far as I can tell, it was doing nothing useful.

- Not easy to use

The recent update made more difficult to use, very hard to find a way to upload photos! Very dislike

- I find it very difficult to navigate.

Actually I hate it!

- Top!!

- Pic upload

Great app, but has issues with uploading selected pics continuously: 2 or 3 attempts before all pics are uploaded.

- Avantages avec Dropbox

Très intéressant d’utiliser Dropbox. Accès facile à mes dossiers.

- Will kill your battery

Hook Dropbox up into the Files app and Dropbox will run in the background, doing nothing useful, until your device is dead. No joke. Google Drive doesn’t do this. Sloppy programming, right here.

- Poor Customer Service

Worst customer service ever received. Signed up for the free trial, and the Dropbox team claims they can’t cancel or even downgrade for me because they don’t manage their own payments, so basically they will continue to take my money until I figure out how to do their job. All the “help” sections are useless for this.

- Batterie issues

Ate my battery completely during the night.

- Excellent tool. Getting further flexible.

Very practical and flexible. Pretty good tool.

- This has been so useful

I needed to create a database of audio tracks that I could post publicly and this app made it easy. I wouldn’t have been able to do it with this

- It’s poo

So pooo

- So many better options available now

There are now so many better options out there that don’t need access to your contacts nor need the recipient of files to sign up to Dropbox. And they want us suckers to pay $15 a month for this privacy infringement. They should be paying us instead.

- Huge Battery Drain

12+ hours background usage per day even though background app refresh is disabled for Dropbox app and I haven’t even launched the app at all. This is ongoing issue since at least January. Only way to prevent this is to delete this app.

- Simple flaw

I spoke with Dropbox and they’re aware of this but in 2020 their engineers can’t figure out how to sort FOLDERS by date modified

- Love it

It makes my life easier. ❤️

- Get Transfer app which is free or one time buy!

Uninstall dropbox because the owner is a greedy for stupid monthly subscription. Boycott Dropbox! Get transfer app which is free or upgrade one time buy for unlimited forever! That’s it!

- iPhone 11 can only send one photo at a time

When I click the send it somewhere button with only one pic selected DB shows up as an option. When 2 are selected DB is not an option. Why devs? Why?

- IDroppedMyBox

It’s epic but it you drop it then all the paper falls out☹️ It gives me a sandpaper feeling🥺

- Dropbox does not reliably support iPad Offline Folders

Dropbox repeatedly fails to sync folders marked for local offline storage. It erroneously claims that there are too many files in many folders, as an excuse for sync failures, despite some folders having only a few dozen files. Clearly, Dropbox is making claims of iPad compatibility before their system is ready for prime time. I do not recommend this app at this time (July 2020). Note also that their iPad and iPhone Apps are also continuing to stubbornly abbreviate file name listings in folders, despite promises to fix this joke long ago. Is Dropbox listening to customers?

- My review for dropbox

Here it is!!

- Très bien

- Arian

Have been a paid user of Dropbox for over 8 years. The service is very sticky and I cannot think how I would manage my team without Dropbox. Keep it up Dropbox!

- Alright, have your fairly earned 1 star

Why in the world I need to open your stupid app to sync it with files app every time you do an update?

- Developers can you tell me why wont download?

When I always try to get it always go back can you help?

- Dropbox

I gave it a 4 only because I have not studied all the benefits That are available .

- Can’t attach from Mail anymore

Latest update broke compatibility with Mail app. Can only see files uploaded a few weeks ago. No recent files/folders show up when attaching files in Mail. This is an ESSENTIAL function that needs to be fixed!!!

- Saving Offline

I’m wanting to make a certain folder in my Dropbox available offline. But I need to make sure before I do so. That the contents of this folder that I’m wanting to make offline to view whenever with data or not.. that it won’t be automatically updated into my iPhone camera roll. Or put into a folder in my iOS camera roll. That would be BAD... very very BAD. so that’s my concern. I need to make sure that these sensitive confidential files won’t be seen ANYWHERE else except offline in the Dropbox app. And not in my personal camera roll. Please advise. Respectfully, Dropbox 1TB user. :)

- Almost really good

The scan feature has been really nice but one thing has driven me crazy. Using a phone, how hard is it to zoom into the document or receipt you are trying to capture? Not really that hard!! I personally don’t mind if i have a piece of the surface the doc is sitting on captured with the image. What drives me crazy, however, is ALWAYS having to adjust the image to actually capture what i intended to. The success of the auto detect feature is less than 50% for me and that’s only because I’ve gotten better at tricking it. Long story short, please Dropbox, at least have an option to disable the auto detect feature. I keep thinking this is going to fixed with updates but it hasn’t.

- Fabulous

We all need digital help these days. Drop Box is one of those apps, valuable apps, which we an take advantage of. If you forget you have it, doesn’t matter, because they’re always there! They always have your pics when you need them. I just changed phones; I have Drop Box! Most of my photos are saved there. I have no photos, but I have Drop Box. My important info is there. Later I will download pictures, but if I bring in my Drop Box folders, I have everything I need! Tom Kipfer

- Never works properly

I have used Dropbox since middle school and it never gave me issues until now. I have many photos made available off line but I still have to wait at lease a minute for them to load with a connection to the internet. Without a connection to the internet it will tell me to log onto a computer to see the file. Also it never saves pictures or videos with the same quality that they were uploaded with. I did an experiment and uploaded a HD photo to Dropbox and then exported it to my photos and uploaded the exported one again and again. Each time the quality degraded until it was nothing but pixels. I pay monthly for the services of this app and don’t even get the quality I was promised. Fix this swiftly or I will discontinue my subscription. Thank you.

- Photo upload constantly breaking

The last couple of weeks I only seem to be able to upload photos to Dropbox from my phone about 25% of the time. The rest of the time I select my images from my camera roll & they just sit there... doing nothing. I can force restart them app, restart my phone, connect to WiFi, connect to data, connect to a charge cord... nothing. When it’s in the mood not to upload the nothing works. This is the main method I use to move images from my phone to my work computer, so this is EXTREMELY frustrating. Emailing photos 2-3 at a time is not a long term solution, especially as we have a paid account at our office.

- iPhone 11 Pro Max

I’ve been reading posts online that Dropbox is still not able to upload portrait mode pics from iPhone and tonight it wouldn’t even load pictures that I cropped - even that was too much editing. I can’t manually upload these edited photos from a computer either. It seems to only take pics in their original form which isn’t fun. I have the latest Ed iPhone and it’s 2020, I’m really surprised this hasn’t been worked out. I don’t want to always have to share originally photos. Please work at fixing this. I’ve seen this same complaint posted for years. Help!

- Scam!

I feel like this is a scam! I had someone send me a doc to look at and it was from this app. So I had to create an account to see it. Then all these options to pay and have no use for app but when I created thinking I could see doc and delete app, it’s not even pulling up doc. I ask friend to send in a regular email. I go to the option to contact support and I can type in the issue of asking to get rid of account (literally minutes after setting up) but drop down box to choose device doesn’t work so no way to get this company’s attention to not be charged or have this account at all. Would not recommend and hope someone from this company sees this because I’m at a loss and truly upset that I might be charged for something I have no use for.

- Dropbox image search no results

I upgraded to the pro simply for the image search ability. It simply does not work for me. Desktop, web, iOS app. Nothing. In plain site in the camera uploads are pictures selfies of my face. searching for face turns up nothing. In plain site I have pictures of sunrises, motorcycles, images that are mostly red. Nothing. Can’t find a single instance of them with any kind of word. At best I get dozens of files with the word in the text... but the regulate Dropbox can do that already. Tech support had no answer other than to say the image search doesn’t work on the app (so why have an update talking about image search??). Fine. But image search don’t work anywhere as far as I can tell.

- New conditions of use are very limiting

I understand that Dropbox is in the business of making money, but they should not start randomly charging to use their app on more than 3 devices or there should be a more economic, scalable option. With the only alternative being to start paying 9.99 a month to use this on 4 devices I am just going to have to start using other software. I loved Dropbox and have been with them since the beginning and I also understand charging for more storage space but to charge existing members to just use what they have is a deal breaker. Give me a 2.99 option, but $10/month for space I don’t need and no other added functionality is it for me. Good luck to anyone who tries to add a new device to their existing free account.

- Okay, but on the camera uploads...

Dropbox has always been a lifesaver. My files always there when I need them. Thank you for that. Your mobile app would be better if one thing can happen, the ability to skip files during an upload and resume on WiFi... I set my camera uploads to upload photos on both WiFi and cellular data, but the videos to upload only on WiFi to save bandwidth... but when the queue reaches a video, it just stops and will not upload anything else until that one is completed... that seems kinda backwards in my opinion... can that be fixed? That would be greatly appreciated by me.

- V160.4 still BROKEN V160.2 not as good as v158

I am a Pro user and access DropBox extensively on my iPad in landscape mode. When I go into a folder to see the contents of a directory, I need to see the files names in full screen mode as some are named quite long. Version 158 used to allow me to close any open file on the right pane of the screen which would allow the expansion of the file list name. With this upgrade, that feature is now GONE! PLEASE BRING IT BACK! I have been using DropBox for YEARS and recommend it to my client base (I run my own Computer Network Consulting business). Thanks for your assistance in this matter. 10/26 I have reduced my initial review by 1 star as they have had plenty of time to fix this error (originally posted on 10/4) that DropBox programmers broke themselves!

- Loved it. now is junk.

I dont use cloud storage a lot, and i thought the 2gb free account was more than enough for my personal needs, such as syncing some files betwen as many computers or devices as I wanted. ( a few apps i use requires dropbox in order to sync.) A few months ago I broke iphone and although I had a mac local backup, i decided to just start fresh. When the time came to access a few files I desperately needed on my mobile device, i re-downloaded it on my new iphone, logged in, and im told that to add my device I needed to remove 6 devices from my account!!? What?! I went to google and found out Dropbox no longer allows free accounts to sync as many devices and will only sync 3. I was bummed, upset because I did not get a warning within the app. Something like “WARNING, adding this device will make your account obsolete and just allow you to sync 3 devices” I would have opted not to activate sync on the new device, but i would have kept all my devices synced. NO, nothing. By me just logging in, it automatically switched my accout. This is a very bad practice. So now im looking for other syncing alternatives.

- Two STAR

Hi there. You are too expensive. Monthly 10 something dollars. Not all you users rich. Reduce it to 2 dollars a month. Why pay that big money monthly. Are you stupit. Who needs 1 terabyte any way. Reduce it. 20 gb. Give people chance to use your service. We pay money for just pictures monthly. Forget it. You have the best service doesnt mean you have to charge a lot. I will never use your upgrade service. It is much better to delete my pics. So you need to think about it. Why do you charge monthly anyway. Why? So silly. So many millions of people use your service free. Be that way if you think that is profitable for you. I think you are super dup. Super rich. Think about people who are not rich and greedy as you. Bye

- Bottom of the barrel in iOS Files integration

Of all the cloud services that are file providers in the iOS Files app, Dropbox has by far the worst implementation. Some issues that constantly arise: the file names of attached/exported files from the Files app get converted to lowercase; folders added to the sidebar regularly disappear; edited documents create lots of conflicted copies. These are all issues that *do not* exist when using Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive in the Files app. Dropbox support always responds with “please note that the Files app is made by Apple,” ignoring the fact that it’s the sole file provider with these issues. Frankly, extremely disappointed in this service which syncs files reliably.

- Great way to access cloud files

Having this Dropbox App is a great way to have accessto your (Dropbox) cloud documents; specially since it integrates with the built in Files app. It's also a great way to upload things to your Dropbox account. Starting out with 2GB of free data is pretty silly in this day and age, but that describes the service, not the app. What I do find ridiculous about the app is that a simple feature like "Make available offline" is hidden behind a paywall. Really? I need to pay to maintain files on my device so I don't have to constantly use up your service's bandwidth whenever trying to open such files? Just ridiculous..

- Upgrade Pressuring

I thought Dropbox would be a little more accessible than all the other platforms out there, especially the cheap or free ones, but apparently they aren’t. It’s a long story, but I can’t upgrade my operating system, so I’ve been rendered almost powerless by Dropbox’s lack of older OS support. If it gets any worse, I won’t be able to do anything on here and then I’ll have to ‘drop’ Dropbox altogether. I hope that never happens. There are plenty of social networks out there that don’t have this problem, so I just hope Dropbox can keep up with them because DP does have a lot to offer and does have a lot over those other sites.

- Constantly reducing free version

Been a free user for years but now switching to google drive and onedrive due to constantly reducing free storage and now number of devices reduced to 3. Original free storage was 5gb, now down to 2.5gb - not a big issue since my need is mostly smaller files. However the recent restriction limit of 3 devices is a deal breaker. I have 4 I need to sync - desktop, laptop, phone and tablet. I suspect that Dropbox is well aware many people have similar needs so decided to try to coerce users to pay for the ability to sync a 4th device. It’s not worth it when I can use my 15gb free google drive or my 5gb free onedrive just as easily. I’m migrating my files now and will be done with Dropbox.

- Why no reasonable file structure? No easy way back up the file tree?

For three decades workers have used a filing system that made sense. You can see all of you folders and when you press back it means you will actually go back up the folder tree. For DropBox to ditch that is extremely bad design. In addition, if you receive links to files you’ll need to actively save the files to your own folders or risk losing track of it forever. It seems that for many years user interface has been refined but for some strange reasons dominant companies are throwing the established rules and logic away. For what, I’m not sure. My use case is not unique and I think if Dropbox designers actually used the app they would drastically change the workflow.

- Sort files by creation date

Hi, I have had an amazing experience with the app for iPad. I use Dropbox to save my photos and videos, my memories. Camera load is very useful. I have one suggestion: the option to sort files by creation time is not available. It is possible to sort them by modification time, but is not the same. It would be awesome to have that option available, because I will be able to see my photos and videos in a chronological order. Me and my family will be very happy if this option comes true. Greeting an keep up with the good work.

- Great App!! Incredibly SLOW

Great App, been using it for a long time, have gotten many friends to use it! Only issue I have with current release is that when I used to email gifs it would show the whole gif in the email, now it only generates a link, I do not want to share links to my stuff with anyone! I should be able to send whatever I want pictures included without only generating a link! Update: The app on the phone makes It is so incredibly slow to upload! Pictures take a while but videos are impossible to upload taking over 30+ mins on high speed internet just for a small clip! You can’t do it in the background, it will only upload with the app open staring at it for eternity! This is a major issue!

- It's sooo slooooow...

About a year ago I tried to use Dropbox for photo and video backup from my iPhone so I could clear up some space....It was so slow it was useless. I literally had to upload 1 file at a time or it flat out would not work. Fast forward to today. It's the exact same thing. I've been trying to backup 64 files (videos less than 60 seconds long shot on my iPhone 5) and it's exactly the same thing. To make sure it wasn't my connection I sent a 1.5 gig file to a client via WeTranfer to test and it only took about 20 minutes. On the laptop I have no problems but the iPhone app just doesn't cut it.

- LOVE our business plan! Please fix one problem!

I love this app. Totally revolutionized our business. I REALLY NEED on app an undo button. The ability to drag and drop files is nice but it’s TOO easy. Just scrolling through files, you grab one and move it to another file and have NO idea what happened, no way to track it, and no undo. Please fix! Also maybe make it so have to hard press and wait for it to jiggle to move like in iOS. Also be nice to add a blank “sheet of paper” to a file that you can jot notes on and save like a pdf right from the app. This would be SUPER.

- No support/Tried to charge for a cancelled subscription

BEWARE! I cancelled my trial, the App Store tried to charge me a week before trial was up, then continued trying to charge me,fortunately I had removed my credit card before that because App Store said my valid card wasn’t valid, obvious App Store problem. Way to go Apple! Dropbox sends emails you can’t reply to, and there is no way to contact them thru app or website, I’d rate ZERO stars if I could, how are users supposed to get support? Reading other reviews, apparently there is none, that’s a major FAIL!!! I suppose the app works ok if you have access to high speed internet or work with tiny files, but if you don’t or are limited to a cell connection it’s pointless if working with large video files.

- Possibly the most superfluous storage service available

Dropbox is terrible. They offered me a 7-day free trial of pro, and, given I was thinking, “There’s *got* to be something more to this app than is offered in the free version,” I took them up on the offer. Well, well.... I was immediately charged for a full month’s “Pro” service and assigned monthly subscription status. Apple sided with me in the dispute and I had the charges reversed. The ONLY reason I use this app is because it is the ONLY storage app that Auria Pro will use. I hate that, considering how great Auria Pro is. But, C’est la vie! Useless garbage goes mainstream everyday. Just hope this one will declare bankruptcy soon so that Auria Pro will start using iCloud to store data... considering it is ONLY available on the iPad! Oh, my.

- Cancelled due to lack of customer service

I’ve been a loyal paying customer of Dropbox since 2011. I’ve stuck with it despite all the bugs and glitches along the way. A few months ago I made the mistake of signing up for a trial to a higher business tier. After opting out of the trial, my account no longer functioned properly. I am now dozens of customer service outreaches in and have yet to find someone who will directly address the problem. Instead, they outright ignore it and tell me the only fix is to upgrade to the higher tier plan. All I’ve asked for is my account’s functionality to be reinstated to its post annual payment / pre-“free trial” status. I’d rather take my business elsewhere than be hustled by “customer service.”

- Please fix the problem

I use Dropbox for numerous things online, both business related and personal. In all circumstances I need to be able to interact with people on shared documents and the most recent update has made that impossible for some reason on my iPad. I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem so it should probably be fixed right away. If not people like me will have to find other programs to use. That aside, before the problem occurred Dropbox was my go to on all of my devices. I sincerely hope this problem gets fixed.

- Sometimes works, mostly doesn’t

Super convenient app if you want to share recordings, videos and photos. However, I pay a monthly fee to have access to all of my things, but experience many issues, anyways. A lot of my recordings start cutting in and out halfway through, though the creator had no problems uploading it. Sometimes, when I go to open files shared with me, they won’t open and then they disappear from my notifications and the only way to reopen them is to click the link in the email. Got a couple bugs that definitely need to be worked out, but it’s still the best app of its kind, so hopefully they’ll put the work in!

- Won’t upload in background

Please update the app the allow uploading in the background. As of now, I have to have the app open and continually press my screen to keep it from locking for videos and photos to upload. This is a pain, especially if I am doing a lot at once. Other apps, such as Box, allow you to select what you’d like to upload and then close the app while it uploads in the background. This would be a huge improvement!

- Dropbox is making this one not work so everyone will buy the other one SMH!

Okay so I’m not buying your new and improved version and I’m definitely deleting this one; because it’s absolutely not working anymore. I’m not falling for Your little trick and trying the trial version which I’m sure is fully functional; because youse guys are trying to scrap the free app. Don’t fall for the trap guys they’re getting greedy just like Apple!!! I should have bought the Droid instead of buying a piece of crap iPhoneX! And even if I did like your new trial version I wouldn’t pay to keep it. I’m just so tired of buying apps.... half of them I don’t even use anymore. Instead I’m gonna buy myself a beer and the hell with all these stupid apps and this stupid iPhone!!!

For the love of all that is good, just don’t. I’ve been using it for 6 years. Tried to create a synced folder on my desktop to get data from my phone and wound up syncing the entire thing. Dropbox replaced all my PC folders with its own virtual folder that I could not separate from my own. Nothing worked and I had to format my entire PC. Their new file manager system behaves like malware and if it can be undone don’t expect the lacking Dropbox support (no chat, no easy way to reach them) to help you there. There are so many better options out there. Don’t trust this app and don’t trust this company one bit, even if you don’t plan to use these services. The days of this being a useful tool are over.

- Just signed me up for a subscription

I downloaded drop box on an old phone almost 2 years ago(when it was free), got a file sent to me, never used it again, got a whole new phone and forgot about it, I just noticed on my credit card bill about 5 months ago I got upgraded without my knowledge and have been paying 10 dollars a month and now Dropbox is like “oh I’m sorry We have nothing to do with that it’s the Apple store” and I’ve been trying to get my money back for a month and there is no way to get a hold of anyone because it’s such a big company they can just take your money and you’re forced to deal with it. Not cool at all. I even cancelled and it still took my money this month, AGAIN.

- My pictures are lost forever

Added for response to my review: i had already contacted customer support and followed the steps they had given to try and get them back before leaving my review. I let them know i was unable to recover my pictures and they said there was nothing else they could do. I used this app when i got a new phone. And for awhile it worked fine. Then after a couple of months of not using it i went back on it to look at old pictures and 6 months worth of pictures randomly disappeared? I wasn’t even opening the app so there is no way i deleted them. So i don’t know if they deleted with an update or what happened but I definitely wouldn’t suggest this app

- Basic functionality with SERIOUS privacy flaws

1. Get FaceID or TouchID or password requirement by default when the app is launched. Data entry n my Dropbox is just as sensitive as my bank Goldman information. Then why does my banking app require *some* sort of verification (FaceID) upon launch, but Dropbox seems oblivious to this issue. Isn’t the need for this obvious? 2. STOP DISPLAYING MY MOST RECENTLY USED FILES ON THE HOME SCREN OF THE APP!! I use the app all the time to pull up a figure or article to show to professional colleagues at work. Imagine, we’re in the middle of a discussion, I pull up an app to show something, and with them looking over my shoulder my personal files come up on the home page. Unacceptable!

- Terriable customer service

I would not recommend this app. When dealing with Stolen identity and trying to shut down our account because someone hi jacked our email account connected to Dropbox and changed the password, they could do nothing. We run a business and every other customer service people we dealt with got thing secure in a matter of a couple of day. Drop box took a week just to get someone to respond, and only because I tweeted and complained. Then it was back and forth for a month...by that time all our information was on the dark web, so we gave up. Because of that, we can no longer do online banking. So long Dropbox! We have told all our friends to drop as well.

- Please update with basic playback tools like

1. bigger play, stop, pause in audio playback 2. loop function This is particularly important as we use the app a lot to listen back to mp3s in development, however it is a huge safety issue to locate the tiny little play button every time to restart playback when driving for example. 3. Can you make it possible to please choose weather we want the audio to remember where left off or not. In meetings this is particularly annoying when it starts somewhere else than the beginning. I have sent messages about this before and years ago without any updates and am now adding a review about this for the first time in hope that you take it more seriously. Please fix these basic things so us professionals that rely on your app quite a bit can have a more seamless and safe experience. Thanks again for listening..(i think)

- Great BUT IPAD sync and Files App

Works great most of the time but can randomly lose the files you told it to leave on your iPad [offline] and you find that out once you are disconnected from the internet - the hard way. So not reliable as a laptop version. The integration with the Files App is next to useless. It does not retain flagging like a file folder. If I have offline files saved in Dropbox, they do not show in the Files App. The frustration with the integration in iPad OS is going to push me to replace it with Apple’s iCloud - not what I want to do but I need access to my data reliably.

- Dropbox is just awesome!

Dropbox keeps me well organized with all types of data by allowing me to sort them out into files & folders. It also allows me to share with others selected data, files, folders or all of it and even to allow others to make changes to selected or all data. Furthermore it allows one to share large files & folders. Dropbox is just AWESOME! I can’t wait for the next improvements to come by!

- Quality

This app used to be one of the greatest app for scanning documents right to your saved folders. But since the updates, the quality has diminished extremely. Not sure if they’re trying to save money or something, but I pay for the full terabyte of space on this app just to scan documents that I can access anywhere and now it’s gotten so bad that I can’t just scan anywhere I am. See for yourself, the quality of a scan is so fuzzy. I’m really disappointed because that made my job so helpful and now it’s become increasingly time consuming. The app developers should go back to the old way the app was.

- Buggy - cannot access any file from App

I am a Dropbox professional subscriber for past several years but now will be moving to google drive and cancelling my subscription. The App has a major bug since iOS 12 - I cannot access any file from the App but I can access same file using mobile safari. I have been emailing customer support for past 2 months and keep getting canned and useless responses. I also tried to escalate to Drew Houston, CEO of Dropbox but I don’t think he cares. I will be writing about this bad experience on other social platforms as well. I have been a shareholder as well but given how bad their general approach towards customers is, I will be selling my shares as well.

- Frustrating

I have not used my Dropbox account in many years. I recently got an email saying my Dropbox account was almost full. I went to check on the account and there is single photos of items and like paint swatches that I did not add. It’s the weirdest thing. And to delete them, I have to go to each photo, click on it, and then click another box to confirm I want to delete it. There are 3844 of these random weird photos! That’s where all my storage is! It’s frustrating that I can’t just delete that one file, as those photos are dated on one day in September about 17 years ago according to the file!

- Normally great, but latest update burning through battery.

I’ve used Dropbox for years now with no problems. This last update, however, is using up a ton of battery, even when I haven’t opened the app. I also tried turning off background refresh for dropbox, but settings is still reporting hours of background activity. I am on an older phone, so I don’t expect to get great life anymore, but my battery is dropping much faster than just a week prior to the update. Settings also never used to report all this background activity. Please fix this.

- What is the point if you cannot download the files? Updated

I have been trying to download a file from a paid account to my unpaid account. I am unable to download any files from my Dropbox account to the local storage on my device. This gets one star until Dropbox realizes its existential purpose if transferring files from one computer to another computer and not one account to another account. Review of paid trial version. Now I am not able to select more then one file. I have the option of downloading a file but that’s not that helpful to me if I need to download gigs of content for work. Additionally it limits the file size you are able to download to something between 50 and 100 megabytes. That what.. a minute of 1080 video? Why do I not have the option of downloading an entire folder of content. I am willing to pay for the Dropbox experience I had in 2012. I am frustrated when the basic law of modern economics that things get better and cheaper over time is rolled backwards by greedy present hedonistic executives.

- Frustrated with the most recent update

I’ve really enjoyed Dropbox. It makes accessing my files across multiple devices so easy. After the most recent update I’m no longer able to attach files to emails through the “attachment” option in the mail app on my phone. Not everyone has a Dropbox account and I hate sending links to the files as it seems unprofessional to me. I’ve looked into it and it seems many people have experienced this issue. I hope it is resolved soon.

- Good, but...

I’ve had the same gripe for years that never gets fixed. When exporting to the phone images on Dropbox (which in itself is a tedious process for multiple files), after the save is 100% complete there’s a pop up that announces that it’s finished, blocked the interface from doing anything else for a second or two. When trying to export multiple files this pointless message gets frustrating. Someone at Dropbox please try to export a dozen photos to your phone...

- Verification process is extreme, limited features

The recaptcha process is horrible, why do I have to roll the ball 20 times only to learn my passcode is wrong? It was on a trusted device. Just horrible. When importing photos from my camera roll I should be able to chose to automatically delete those photos. Instead I have to select photos to import to DB, wait for them to upload and then go into my camera roll and hope I remember which photos and select them again to delete. Other apps such as photo vault have figured this out, why wouldn’t a premium service such as Dropbox have this feature?

- Could be better

Of the few paid cloud services that I suscribe to, Dropbox would be the first one that I would close. Fewer returns for the buck. The cloud service is clunky and counterintuitive, inc. it’s search engine. Uploading and managing files, as compared to other services is a chore. They haven’t upgraded the available storage space in years (1 Tb). It continues to be great, for what most of us signed-up for, to begin with— sharing docs with others, and for syncing frequently used files/folders in our hard-drives. But this is now also possible w other cloud providers.

- Fix the double photo upload glitch

Since April, there has been a double upload of all photos, whether they’ve been edited or not, instead of the final photo like before. There has been ZERO communication from customer support past some automated garbage passed off under someone named “Walter” on their forums to use filters as you take the photo and edit within the app. This makes no sense at all. It has been practically impossible to successfully upload photos into a STORAGE SERVICE because of the double photos now being so out of control. Please, address the issue instead of skirting around it like politicians. UPDATE - and the developer response is no different than before. Wow!

- Great app, just wish for more

I've used Dropbox for quite awhile. My one complaint is that I wish there was an easy way to switch between different accounts. I have a personal account as well as one I use for accessing files while teaching. I don't really want to merge the two into one account, but I can't figure out how to quickly and easily gain access to both without opening one in a browser while using the app with the other. Otherwise, I will continue to use and love Dropbox!

- good

it’s a good app, it’s very useful when i broke my screen and needed to upload about 3000 photos off my phone but a huge issue is that when i need to download them all BACK on my phone, i have to go and redownload EVERY individual photo. i don’t have time for that !! they need to add a feature where you can select multiple and export them to camera roll all at once and/or select a folder(s) that you can download to camera roll bc it’s so annoying to redownload every picture/video individually. PLEASE FIX THIS

- Moving files could be more efficient

I upload hundreds of photos to my Dropbox from my iPad every month. The ability to select multiple pictures from my camera roll to Dropbox would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if this is an Apple restriction or a Dropbox issue. I realize there's a way to upload photos automatically but I want to be able to chose 20-30 photos for a particular photo and mass upload them. Currently I can't do that-I have to go photo by photo.
