My Favorite! AI is weak!. Love playing this Chess AI; it does so much for my ego! Haha In my prime I was a little over 1800 rating, but now I’m about 1600 because I don’t play and study every day like I did 20 years ago…still I play this on the hardest level and I consistently beat the AI! :) Just played an Italian opening and castled on my 4th move to give the AI a chance, and still won in 10 moves, my shortest game so far against the AI…. Please don’t change it; I’m enjoying my ego boost… :) 1. e4 e5 2. Nf5 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. O-O Ne7 5. d3 f6? 6. Ng5!? fxg5?! 7. Bxg5 h5 8. Qf3 d6?? 9. Qf7+ Kd7 10. Be6++ Easy win in less than 2min…Though I find the Ruy Lopez opening easier to beat the AI than the Italian opening…if you want a tough AI, like Shredder, but I play this one most often because I can play a quick casual game and don’t have to think to much to beat it.

Pawn automatically promoted to Queen?. Game seems okay. However, you don’t seem to have a choice as to what your pawn is promoted to. I am aware that you normally get to choose between a queen, rook, bishop or queen. For my games, it automatically selects the queen. Not really a big deal, but it is. Overall, this app is good enough for me.

Fix this !. If the computer repeats the same move more than three times it should be a draw just like in a regulated chess tournament. There is this tendency where the computer repeats moves in order to prevent you from making a winning move which is the only flaw of this app.

The App refuses to loose gracefully. The App chooses its moves based on the probability of success. If it determines that it can not win, the App will attempt to put you in a revolving door of “check” positions or move for a stalemate. I can understand the stalemate as in a tournament, a stalemate at least allows for each player to receive a point. At least in the tournaments I have played in. However, having the App move it’s pieces continuously back and forth without being able to win, is pointless. It just makes the game go on and on unending. I’m not Mathew Broderick and this isn’t a game of Global ThermoNuclear War. There shouldn’t be a no win situation or at least a no stalemate situation. The App needs to be programmed to lose as much as it is programmed to win. If the pieces the App has to use can not put the player into checkmate, the App should not be able to continually put the player into “check” basically forcing a new game to be started.

Awesome App for Chess. I highly recommend people to download this app, it’s free and helps you learn to play chess. The puzzles are extremely fun, it lets you choose what level your playing against when your playing against a robot, and it even lets you play against other people. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that you have to find the other player instead of the app finding you one when you’re playing against another person, if you don’t understand what I mean, I meant that instead of the app automatically finding you a partner, you actually have to physically convince someone to play with you, in other words, the app is just a chessboard when your not playing against a robot. However, overall this is a very good app for playing chess.

Question to Tech support. Occasionally I get into a scenario when playing against the computer. The computer prevents me from making a different move, by repeatedly making the same move, over and over and over, into infinity! This usually happens as I am about to get the upper hand in the game. The computer has alternative moves available, but gets stuck on repeat! I'm either forced to make an inferior move that the computer likes, putting me at a disadvantage, or start another game. Is this legal? Is there a maximum number of times that a identical move can be made by both players? Please explain this phenomenon, or fix it! Problem 2, this App constantly trying to sell me Checkers. Please stop this. I don't want to purchase Checkers!

Very weak program/app. The highest difficulty level is not difficult at all. The chess puzzles were fun until I noticed they are not true puzzles. There is not one true solution for some of them. In order to solve some of them, the computer has to make a mistake, but you can’t predict that until you try several different moves to see what the computer does first. So it becomes a guessing game not a puzzle based on logic.

Fun, but glitchy. For some reason if you try to play this game while on the phone, the screen fails to align properly. It responds as though you’ve tapped half an inch away or so from where you actually did. You can’t adjust settings or move pieces pretty much at all. This makes the game impossible to play if you’re chatting on the phone at the same time.

A Poor Player, but A Fine Teacher !. This is the perfect chess teacher, because it will allow you to make only legal moves. For those of us who are beginners or less than great players, it makes a beatable opponent. For Grand Masters, it is too easy to beat, and has a weak end game, but unlike the formidable Chess app in Mac O/S, it moves instantly, and you can complete a game in a few minutes. For us weak players, it is the perfect opponent.

This app is great but…. I have been using this app for a very long time and it show how better players may respond to specific openings really well but I have noticed the robots may begin repeating moves and there is no stalemate in that way. One other big that I think could be fixed is when you take a pawn with an passant it doesn’t count as taking a pawn in the taken pieces menu. Thank you

Love this game. I have always had a weird interest in chess, I was taught how to play very young. I love books/movies/shows about chess but rarely read or watch them. So every 2 or so years I remember how much I love it. This time, what reminded me was reading The Queens Gambit (highly recommend by the way). But I didn’t have my chess board and not many people who would play with me so I downloaded this game and love it. It’s also a way to play discretely because everyone thinks it’s weird for a 14 y/o girl to like chess so much because it is for Russian guys w glasses and man buns.

Quiz is no logically accurate. In almost any case scenario presented by the quiz mode, check can be done upon the player’s king. For that matter, it is not possible to logically win in a two move strategy. If I do a first move, computer can check my king. Then, I have to bring my king to safety, and lose my two move chance. Secondly, To win in a two move sequence, I have to guess accurately. what is the next move the computer will do? This is often enough a random move. That means I have a random, and not a logical chance to win. Accuracy is premium when playing chess. Quizzes do not present an accurate scenario to win in a two move strategy. The app also charge money to give you fixed clues. It is a scam.

FIX THE THREEFOLD REPETITIONS. Game rule: the threefold repetition (when the same position occurs three times with the same player to move) it’s a DRAW. This thing is driving me crazy whenever in that position. FIX IT, DARN it. Because of this I’ll have to give it a one star. It will be extremely helpful and appreciated if there is a delay at the end of a game for a few seconds before it jumps forthwith to the ads. At time I would like to analyze the last move(s).

I like it. Not a great chess player but I like to try. Undo is the key as it allows me to LEARN. It makes games more fun when I would otherwise get crushed. Others do not understand that concept but this one does. I’ll stick with this, very pleased.

Best game. This game is awesome and the way they let you chose either realistic or picture-y and stuff. This gam lets you think like you actually play with another person so then you can learn from this game! I recommend for s m r t people and people who like being challenged

Kinda cool. Never understood Chess, got this app through checkers, learning a lot quickly on easy setting! I like it. Always felt bad about being ignorant when it comes to chess, like Rosetta Stone, I'm learning little by little. Glad to have it, if you would like to learn the game try it, lose for an hour and then you still aren't a chess master, but you will be closer to being one! Rock on!

Needs game review. It would be helpful to be able to go back over the order of movements from it game once it’s over. Also, I’ve noticed that when the app plays your opponent there is precious little variation in its order of movements, especially in the opening game. If you play a certain opening, it will always respond to that opening in the same way.

Nice game. I like the graphics and the level settings. I used to play with my son when he was 12. He’s 36 now. Really haven’t played in 20 years. It is definitely good for my brain and thanks for the take back button. I played a different chess app and I couldn’t take back a move for free. You had to buy the deluxe version. Please don’t start charging for that. Thanks

Stalemate Explanation. Great app. Fun. Good levels. A game is officially a stalemate when a player who is next to move, has no legal moves possible. That is to say, any move taken would place king in jeopardy. To win, you must place opposing king in Check-Mate. Stalemate is essentially "Mate" without the king being in "check". And according to chess rules, That is not a victory. In chess, you're suppose to trap and kill, not " corner and kill." If you are dominating, be careful to allow opponent at least one possible move, as u position for the CheckMate.

Best chess game I’ve played. I don’t usually post reviews because I rarely play games but I’ve been hooked on playing this. No ads whatsoever! That’s basically the reason why I enjoy it. You can also adjust the difficulty and change the chess board which is cool.

Great app, few fixes. I’m fairly new to chess and I find even on bar up from easy it’s extremely difficult. It’s a skill issue on my part :) but I recommend other apps to learn rather than this one. Another thing I’ve observed was that the game plays odd when checkmate is imminent. It’ll declare a stalemate even when other pieces are able to move. but will continue the game if it’s possible to checkmate you. Example: I was two moves from achieving Smothers Mate, and it had two Pawns and one Rook moving the rook forward would’ve created a path to run forward but instead moved one of its pawns forward essentially blocking himself in on purpose? Never seen a computer do that so I moved Queen to top row and and in one move it would’ve been a checkmate but instead just randomly declared a stalemate. That shocked me until I figured it out it blocked himself in on purpose to declare a stalemate. Some cheap tactics 💀💀💀

Great app for a great game. This app has a good level of difficulty to where you can beat it if you get good enough, but can learn from it if you aren’t. The puzzles are a nice challenge and the undo button is good for experimenting with moves.

Impossible. Any mode I choose, its always impossible. Once I get further into the game, the game makes my chess pieces rattle to indicate to move them and it wont let me move any other piece... and when I do get to move any other piece, it limits my options for moving a piece! For example, a knight can move in an L shape, but the game limits my move to one direction when I can move my knight many other directions! It also cheats by doing this: So bishops, queens, and rooks all have one thing in common. You can move then how many spaces you want, but only in a certain direction. Well, this game doesn’t DO that! If I wanted to move my queen how many spaces I wanted to, the game would make me move to a random square! I cannot beat the AI, and I cant do 2 player because I have no one to play with, so this game is literally trash to me. Im downloading another chess game, oh, and THANKS for being the worst chess app EVER.

Good game but annoying. Great game you can change the board and pieces to look differently plus there’s a hint option which helps me learn. Unfortunately I can’t play it anymore because for no reason it will stop the game and say “stalemate”. I had 2 bishops, 2 rooks, my queen, and 2 pawns whereas the computer only had its king left. I checkmated the king, “Stalemate” pops up an I can’t finish the game. Too annoying and it happened for the last time. Now deleting this app for the many other chess apps

Good but buggy. Nice game. Hard mode is medium level in other apps. King shakes with every new game, a bug. Certain sequences can be repeated, about 7 to defeat the black every time and at every level, another bug. Game does not recognize ties, so repetition can continue forever. 100 puzzles only, when done, they’re done, no more. Not as challenging as other chess apps. Very good for beginners.

Can we get a rule book?. Every SINGLE time I have the board cleared except the white king, and am about to catch him, it shows me "stalemate". Like, it wouldn't be if you gave me two more minutes?! I'm sure there's some kind of rule I'm missing, since before downloading the app my chess knowledge consisted of 'protect your king and kill theirs', but there's no rule book or explanation or anything. It's really frustrating me. It seems the only time I can win is if there's at least one other white piece on the board.

Best Chess game out there!. I’ve played a lot of versions of chess, and this is by far my favorite! The viewpoint is great and it’s great for learning because it shows possible moves as well as allowing you to take back a move if you want. Excellent for learning and/or improving your game.

Fun simple. Being new to chess I’m really enjoying this app. The hint function is helping me learn what to look out for and build better strategies. Only thing I wish it had was a way send an invite play friends

Amazing super fun game but i do have a complaint. This is such a great game and is so fun and so easy to learn but there is one thing. When you play with the robot the robot makes his moves to quick so it’s kind of hard that way. But other than that this is such a good game and it’s so fun and even today me and my brother played it and it was my first time and after i played two rounds i emedietly downloaded it so it’s a great game and it’s so fun and but also i think they should give limited hints beacause you could cheat if you did the hints the whole round thank you for reading this review this is such a great game and i would recommend it thank you #stayhome

Game cheats. Playing this version you need to watch out because the game will cheat and take away pieces when you make a challenging move. I moved a Pon Into position to take a castle and the game moved his pon pass my pon the it take way my pon.

Not bad. I like playing on this app especially if I want to play with a friend, but when I play myself, it get a little bit boring. The bots not very challenging and some of the puzzles don’t make sense at all. It would also be nice if you could mix&match your board and price themes. Otherwise this is a really good app. I can tell you guys spent time on this.

This is almost real chess. This game is great, I have been playing it for a year now and it is amazing because it has no ads and has a good esthetic. This game also has a puzzle mode where you can practice chess.

Good, could be better. Good graphics, no unnecessary bells and whistles, but the program has annoying flaws. The computer exhibits very little variety in openings, makes silly mistakes even in “hard” mode, and in the endgame it makes nonsensical moves, like having the opposing king head for a corner instead of trying to block an advancing pawn. Not for serious players, I’m afraid.

Stalemate. This game doesn’t know the right time to call stalemate.. I have 3 games where once I was set up to win the game it called stalemate even though there was not the same move repeated 3 times.. It’s like the computer just does not want to lose so it throws a fit and calls stalemate instead of letting you win..

Good Game 👍🏾 but.... I have been looking for chess apps for so so long and then I found this amazing app. However, the app need to give players more time to think and develop their pieces. Moreover, The app would say checkmate or stalemate and I could move my king or protect it. Furthermore, for me, there are a few glitches. Like when I click a piece it won’t move that piece. So please try to fix that too. But, overall a very good chess app that really makes me think.

pretty simple. simple game of chess with multiple difficulty levels. There isnt a online gameplay option but multiplayer is also available. Also puzzles are available which are actually pretty useful, where they set up the board and you must figure out how to win in one move

Not great. Not bad. Needs ..... .... a few tweaks: 1) the undo function should not go back two moves, but just one; 2) there should be a re-do function; 3) the volume should adjust with the device volume selector (rather than only on/off); 4) the piece movement should be faster; 5) the computer should stop the game at stalemate. That said, the graphics are nice. However, and this is a bigger fix, the AI is very predictable and plays essentially the same game all the time, even on “Hard.” Def needs some work there. With all that, this is very good ... for beginners and novices.

Idiotic computer in this game. Chess is a great game but has rules. This ridiculous computer on this specific game fails to comprehend that the same move repeated three times is stalemate. This stupid game played the same move 100 times continuing to put me in check because mate for it was imminent. Not an intelligent chess computer. It also continued the game when only kings remained on the board. It’s time to retool the computer’s thinking or get out of the chess biz. There are more issues than this, these two are just glaring deficiencies that make this game maddening.

Great Graphics-greater amount of stalemates. Nice game per se as I love the real look of the pieces. however; I don't think stalemating a player (not all but most of the time) b/c they're about to win is just wrong. I've been playing chess for over 40 years and this chess game is the only AI game where I've repeatedly experienced that ending. Also, if you undo a play to get a piece back, it ALWAYS returns the AI pieces first.

This game cheats during stalemates. Update: It just did it again! It had the upper hand and I had 4 back and forth moves (8 total moves) with no stalemate. Then I was able to corner 2 of its 4 remaining pieces, corner it’s king in the corner and it tried to block with its last remaining rook. I took the rook and it immediately declared a stalemate! There were NO repetitive moves during the last 40 moves of the game and I was ONE MOVE from forcing Checkmate with its only remaining piece, it’s king. This game cheats! If this game has me on the run and there’s only a few pieces left, I have actually made over FIFTY back and forth moves and it NEVER calls or allows for a stalemate to be declared. However, if I have the computer on the run, if the computer is down to 1 or 2 pieces left, after just a few moves, sometimes 3 TOTAL moves (mine and the computer totaled) in any direction, it declares a stalemate. Those moves normally aren’t repetitive moves like a real stalemate should be. On numerous occasions, I’ve had the upper hand and have been moving to box in or row compress the computer’s king into checkmate when the computer calls a stalemate even though there have been zero repetitive movements. (This has been happening with the difficulty setting at normal.) In other words, this game cheats when it’s losing. The developer of this app needs to fix this issue.

Poorly programmed. - Doesn’t allow under-promotion. - Opening book fails completely as White; typical opening on Hard: 1 Nc3 e5 2 Nd5 c6 3 Ne3 d5 with enormous advantage for Black. (Plays a decent closed Ruy Lopez as Black, but handles the middlegame poorly.) - Doesn’t defend tenaciously on Hard; often allows easy mates rather than playing on a piece down; often allows easy traps. - These comments are based on about 25 games on No Time Limit.

Kaizen your chess skills for novice players only. The program is OK if you are a novice needing practice. However, it is extremely weak in the end game, lacks variability with openings, and could cause you to be over confident. I win about 70 %. I am a novice. Also, when you have a king and night or king and bishop end game there is not any way to draw, or in some cases resign. I enjoy using the program, but it does need some software work. Easy: great introduction to the Chess universe. First, you can play a Very easy opponent. (Many games seem to make the easiest level too difficult, tacitly discouraging further play.) Second, it introduces the players to algebraic notation and thereby gives the capability to study classic games. (Don’t have a pencil to take down moves? Don’t worry! Most phones can take screenshots to “backup” the games you’ve played.)

Amazing game. I have only been playing this game for a few days but I am so impressed I LOVE how they have free hints and this app has other things that is not just chess but you are not mandated to do the other things on the app. I would 100% recommend this app to others!

Great game. I’m the best chess player in my school and it’s k-8 and I owe all of that to this game but I don’t like the constant ads that pop up 75% of the time after you play a match and ditto to the puzzles that purposely try to make you buy hints, don’t if you want to get better look the puzzle over then choose your move you won’t get better by using hints.

Good not great. Puzzles are good. UI is very good. I wish the pieces had more contrast. The gradient colors in both both sides tend to be hard to see. Overall, the computer engine on hard was pretty easy. Computer made too many mistakes and did the same strategy over and over.

Fine for beginners.. This is a no frills chess APP. On the plus side there are no annoying ads. On the negative, the chess engine is not very powerful. I routinely beat the hardest level. Also the programming doesn’t have all the rules. The APP does not recognize draw by three-fold repetition. The computer opponent will always trade equal pieces. After a game is over you can’t undo moves or replay the game through the APP.

Chess Review. Very cool and user friendly. Three levels of difficulty to choose from depending on your experience. I love playing this version, and I think you will too. Thank you!

Worst game ive ever played. I’m great at chess. Ive played my entire life. This game will make it so you sit for 15 minutes playing, chasing their guys around and the SECOND you are about to hit check mate it says “stalemate” its brutal. Even in the easiest setting. Once they get down to one pawn or one defensive it turns off. Absolutely incredible and frustrating, never written a review before on an app. This was a terrible experience.

Junk. I’ve had the game for a while. I still consider myself a beginner. I was able to win most games on beginner level, but most games were down to a few pieces each. I tried the next level up, but like any other computer game I could not win any. So I go back to beginner. Now, the computer is winning just like I was playing the next level. Yes I checked the level I was playing. Don’t waste your time!!!! Upgrade: if you play beginner level, and try to use strategies, you can not win. The more you look at your next move or moves, you’ve lost already. To bad you have to rate to even write a review. Otherwise I would give it a 0. Hasn’t changed. It’s to the point on beginner level the computer is winning in 14 moves capturing my queen with their queen!!!

Bad. Some of the pieces were disappearing of the board for no reason at all. Also I am a beginner but I find it hard to beat. As there is a unlimited health button I ran a experiment to see if the computer could beat itself. It couldn’t and I ended up loosing.

Good but super easy. This app is alright, but the computer even on hard is utter garbage. I’m a 2100 player and have managed to win games with 4, 5 even 6 queens during the endgame. Would love to see more difficulty build in (although I understand you may not be able to implement stock fish or other engines) Other than that this app is very good

Illegal moves. Not a bad chess game. Would have given 5 but the Ai made a few illegal moves which got frustrating as there is no point in planning ahead as it could be pointless.

Pretty good. I like how in the game there are mini games that you can play if you get bored of getting beaten. And the game overall is creative and fun to play and good for leaning chess.

3/5. Game is ok, being a chess game and a strategy game the developers obviously just took game plays and made an app. Puzzles The puzzles have sideways taking pawns in a lot of glitches not just the ones stated. if you fail a level it says play again and takes you back to main menu, should maybe have a main menu or play again button saves taking 5 clicks to play again starting from main menu so really it’s not a play again button just miss spelt main menu.

Needs an Update. I only have three suggestions for this but three important ones 1: more skins 2: when king is the only one that can move, but can’t move without forcing itself into check, that’s checkmate not stalemate 3: you should be able to get more hints than just stay with five

My favourite app. I love this app. Of all the many chess apps I have this is the one I play the most, at least 5 games a night. The only thing I’d absolutely love to see is the ability to take the existing notation screen (which only shows the notation for the last 5 complete moves) one step further and make it possible to scroll up to see the notation of all the moves AND then be able to save the game forever in a personalised folder. Why not create an elite version and include these two things and I would happily pay money to get it.

AI too easy. The hard difficulty is too repetitive and predictable after a couple of games and doesn’t provide a challenge- I wouldn’t consider myself a strong player but still find the computer too easy to compare other engines

Clean and simple, but not perfect. A pure and simple chess app, which does what you need without over complicating the game. They don’t spam you with ads, nor do they force you to spend money, which is a very pleasant break from the norm. The areas I’d like to see improved would be the ability to replay puzzles. It seems bizarre this would be an option already. What if I want to go back and do it again, or I haven’t done them in ages and want to revisit them, or I just simply wish t challenge a friend. I’d also like to see an option to turn off the “undo” feature. And lastly, it would be nice to be able to challenge friends with the same app via Bluetooth or wifi on our own devices

Life changing.. I was in a dark place. Life just didn’t seem worth living. My family hated me, I was failing school. That’s when I heard about this app. Since downloading it, my life has been filled with a new-found wonder and appreciation for all things. My family loves me, even my grades have gone up. 5 stars, would recommend.

Great App/application. I think this is a great app and I recommend it. I do have a complaint though. In the puzzles, you have to pay for hints after you have used the free hints. Other than this this app is great!

bad ai. I was playing agains the hardest ai, and it kept checking me back and forth softlocking the game, i would try every different outcome and it would just check me back and forth no matter what, in actual chess there is a rule where after the 3rd exact same set of moves are played, the game ends in a draw. please fix this game, the ai is not fun. 👎

Amazing. Recommended.. I’m a frequent chess competitor and I think this game to be an incredible training resource. It’s clean, sleek and suitable for world-champions to beginners. I’ve used this app since a very young age. It taught me a lot of techniques (with the hints) and ways to get out of tricky traps set by other players in comps. Even though I’m older now I use this app for simple rounds when no-one has time for a game. The puzzles are very smart. They range from easy to hard and I personally love solving them and recommend it if you don’t have the time for a full game. Doesn’t follow the rules of Chess. The game would not let me king side castle even when it was a legal and available move. Don’t bother with this app if you want to learn strategy.

One smelly thing. Still the best chess app there is, but only one thing that makes it not so great. It’s that when I’m just about to win, the program says “stalemate”, and stops the game, happened so many times. And when it’s obviously a stalemate, when it’s only white king and black king left on the board (nothing else left!), it doesn’t say “stalemate”. Just lets us keep playing. If this app loves saying stalemate so much, please say it on this occasion. Thanks

Chess. I really like Chess. I especially like the chocolate board.

Surprisingly good puzzles. Like many of the chess games in Apple’s App Store, the chess engine is best suited to beginners. The chess engine challenged me at the highest difficulty level, but I’m rusty; I haven’t played in 20 years (My chess rating was in the intermediate to advanced range back then). The real gem in this game are the puzzles. They are mostly one and two move checkmate problems. Some of these puzzles can challenge intermediate and advanced players. I gave the star rating for the puzzles, not the game play. I have three complaints about the puzzles. The first complaint is that you cannot replay a puzzle once you solve it,so you can’t explore alternate moves. The second is that only 4 of the puzzles are unlocked at any one time. So if you get to the point where you can’t solve any of the 4 unlocked puzzles, you’re stuck. And that leads to my third complaint. You can ask for a hint 5 times. After that, if you want more hints you pay. Dearly. Would you pay $70, or $100 for hints? Or would you go to the Amazon or Indigo bookstore and buy half a dozen chess books and ebooks for the same price, covering chess openings, chess combinations, puzzles, strategy, and more? The puzzles are great but I would not be willing to spend more than $5 to unlock all the hints. So work out the puzzles yourself or with friends. Spend your money more wisely on chess books.

Great Chess platform. Allows you to win within reasonable levels but hard enough to keep you thinking about strategy. Great App.

AI Cheats. Decent game but the ai legit will cheat and either move multiple pieces in one turn on occasion, or randomly removes your piece somehow, even screen recorded for video evidence cause I couldn’t believe this joke

Awesome for beginners. This app is a really great chess app it is also really useful for people who want to do chess online, the only problem is it doesn’t teach you how to play chess, but other than that really great app!

Not real chess. The rules are not the real rules

Garbage. Every time the opponent/computer is on the verge of loosing, it stops the game and says “stalemate” but yet when the opponent/computer is winning it never says stalemate for the player. Complete garbage. Puzzles… buy hints? Really. Do not download this trash chess game

Garbage. I love how the computer doesn’t like to lose, so when you are close to a checkmate all of a sudden it says stalemate instead.

It’s ok. It’s nice but the hint is not a hint it doesn’t help cause each time I use hint I lose

Broken Game. Marks matches as stalemate when victory is a move or two away

Bad game. I was playing one player and I played for so long after the other items died and it was only my king and the robots king. It didn’t say stalemate even though it was stalemate. It frustrates me that I played for Soo long and the game doesn’t even admit to stalemate.

1000 fun puzzles. Love the game and especially the puzzles. Only issue is the hardest setting is still too easy.

Constant ads ruin a good app. The puzzles are fun but when you get stuck you have to buy hints. Which I can accept, but the relentless ads after every single puzzle solve is asinine. If I’m paying, get rid of g#% da#%n ads! It’s pathetic to see how the apps have degenerated over the years.

Not good. During certain points I’ve noticed the AI does moves to prevent losing its queen which aren’t possible nor condonable in chess.

Simple and Easy. I find I have to create an account for everything these days. This app was quiet refreshing.

Great chess and puzzles.. Loved the puzzles as some were fairly easy, but others had me scratching my head for days. A nice mix.

Decent App but needs better functionality. The app is nice, and I enjoy the puzzles section, however it is poorly designed. I should be able to undo a move after stalemate rather than return to main menu first. Also should be able to replay finished puzzles to analyze solution.

3 stars. I really enjoy this game where you can play on 1 and 2 player mode with a variety of difficulty’s and the puzzles make it really entertaining and keeps the game to my mind but what I don’t like about this game is that when you play this game on a high difficulty, they won’t stop putting you on check, it’ll just stay forever to make us lose which is fine that’s how games work but this game is not fun when you keep putting our pieces in check trying to get every piece eliminated and win in an aggressive way. My suggestions is that instead of it just being a queen when a pond makes it to the end of the board, let us decide what we want to piece to be, some people might want knights instead of going straight and diagonal.

Nothing better than a game of chess. Awesome app which relaxes me and keeps my mind sharp.

Chess. It give you brain cells

Full of illegal moves. This game cheats on a constant basis. It will declare a stalemate when no stalemate occurs, and it will make a legal pawn moves on a regular basis. If this is what it takes for a computer to beat me, I want no part of this chess particular chess game.

Fun but really easy. The only challenging thing about this app is the puzzles. The robot you play against sucks in all difficulties. The hardest difficulty blundered mate in 1 earlier today. If you are bored, this is a great app , but if you are trying to get better, find another app.

It Cheats. I really enjoy playing chess. However, this game makes me so frustrated. Whenever I try to take a piece that threatens my king, it denies me the opportunity. At first I thought it was just some new rule or something that I wasn't previously aware of. Then I put it in check and it takes my pieces. So if you enjoy chess and don't want to deal with the frustration of facing a cheating opponent, don't download this game.

BEST GAME EVeR!. Like I started of never knowing chess but my sis told me to try it and omg wow amazing like I’m 11 right now but when I was 10 I was like a noob but now I’m even winning my own teachers

Elusive King. I’ve enjoyed this app for its awesomely tricky mate-in-two puzzles. But playing the app is more tricky. All was going well in one game, but as I mounted my attack on the computer’s King, that piece disappeared from the board. The game kept progressing with my opponent’s King simply listed as just another taken piece.

Chess. Plays a good game on the hard setting but is beatable by a moderately good player much of the time which encourages more play. This is in contrast to the chess game on my MacBook Air which must have been programmed by a dozen chess masters because it is brutal and merciless!

Best chess app!!. Forgot how to play after 15 years of not playing and started out on beginner with hints and remembering little by little how to play advanced games :))

So far. So my friend brought her iPad to school cause Virtual learning and indoor recess she played me in checkers and later I got the checkers one so I will try this one

Best Mind Game. It allows to think twice in each movement and rethink about goals and objectives if there is a risk for the King or Queen. In real life, it teaches us to be defensive as we could and active in our goals.

Awesome but too easy.. Awesome app with beautiful interface. No ads is a BIG plus. No bugs to report. There is only one little problem - the AI is not very smart. The hardest level is much too easy to beat.

They are doing moves they can’t do. This game is a bad chess because in real life chess I’ve learned so the problem is that they are doing moves they can’t do I’ve play this game multiples and I realize that those 10 games I lost that the app was doing some random moves so o hope they learn more and I hope they fix it for an update so I hope you are listening and and yea🙂

Nice App. Nice app for chess players who want to improve their skills. However it would be nice if there was an option to switch sides in the middle of the game.

Love it! But I have an idea. I think this game is fun and an easy way to learn how to play chess. However I think it would be cool if the game showed you your stats. Like wins, losses, and stales mates. Just a thought!

Stalemate. I’m fairly new to chess, and using this app I have gotten nothing but stalemates. The software will not accept defeat, it will just continually move until the game is ended in a stalemate. If this wasn’t a problem I would rate this app 5 stars because it has so much to offer for new players but it takes away all the joy in its current state.

great for beginners, fun easy style for experienced. the hard is really easy but just challenging enough you can keep playing over and over have fun. i really like the way the engine plays in the openings. just wish it had more variety and the bishop attacking the knight and trying to go for ruy lopez on nimzo and english gets annoying. other than that its fun to play.

AMAZING ( read this tho). I had gotten this game to play when I was bored, and I eventually got hooked. But, I was kind of confused about "Stalemate" but I soon figured out it meant 'tie' Overall, it is a VERY fun game and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Nice. A bit too easy for me though.... I played it on the “hard” setting, and haven’t lost yet. I’m looking at the games moves, wondering why they didn’t move better.

Just the right amount of smarts. Took a few months to find out how weak the end game is. Opening is good. Middle is challenging. Finally after a few years with this, found the weak spot on the black king’s side. Great programming! Larry J

Nice Challenge For an Intermediate Like Myself. I am able to win against this program, but I have to bring my best game, or I will loose. I like the thinner pieces, but it is nice to have an option of different styles of pieces.

It’s Great But…. All that’s needed to be incorporated is the ability to change the rules. Like say for example. To the best of my knowledge, Castling can’t be done with this app.

I love chess. I love this game because it’s a game that helps me get comer. But I gave you guys a four out of five because there are stuff that I didn’t learn in chess yet. For example I don’t know how to play the hole game yet. But thanks for making this game your the best!!😁😁😁

Puzzle #114 error. Two white bishops on the black diagonal.. Puzzle #337 pawn only option after reaching the other side is to be exchanged for a queen., should be okay to allow a knight check mate in two moves..

Puzzles are too hard. I am stuck with 4 puzzles and I can’t pay for the hints so can you please let us get 1 hint per day and then I will give the game 5 stars also you can have more than one ad because I look at them and they are all the same and I am just going crazy about it

This is THE BEST!!. Really. If you want to learn and have fun (remember you’re playing a computer so don’t expect to win. All the time.) this is the best engineered chess game. Use the hints. Just have fun!

Easily Amused. Love winning, even against easy computer. I keep it set on hard but it can be beaten over & over. Otherwise I am a 1100 player. A real ego booster.

Great game but.... Really great game, but... there are times when I am one or two moves away from winning and the game will call a stalemate. It’s almost like the AI can’t stand to loose. It never has a problem continuing a game when I am loosing!!! Lol!

Make Your Move!. I like the features and challenge this chess app offers. I find it’s good idea to play various chess apps to remain a well-rounded player. Add this one to keep your game, and foes, in check.

Puzzle Error. very great chess app. but i just found a major error in puzzle number 114. both white bishops sit on black squares.

Chess. Love the app just please send more puzzles. I purchased hints and didn’t know puzzles would stop at 1000 so spent $ on hints with no puzzles left to use them on Help Please

Bugged stalemate. Play a few battles and you will find that the computer will cheat you out of a checkmate. Or on Notmal, it’ll block every move you make until it find 4-5 move ahead you’ll force it into a check mate, then begins to default straight to god mode where you’ve basically already lost a solid 15 moves prior to game end - on Normal...

Nice for old iPad. One of the few chess games that still work on an old iPad 2. Good for 2 players with auto piece flipping between moves.

The game cheats. Constantly calls stalemate when I have the upper hand and also limits moves I should be able to make but can’t, for instance, I should be able to move my king one space in any direction but when I was about to take an opposing rook next to me, the game wouldn’t let me move one space to the right, forcing an inferior move. This game is junk.

Visually Appealing/Best chess app. Pleasure to play! Better on the iPad because you can see the board/pieces better, but good on iPhone too. Best chess app I have found. Update: Great on iPhone X too. Doesn’t fit the whole screen, but easy to see pieces.

Great app. I’m thrilled to be playing this. It could be made better by making it so that the pawns don’t become a queen if there’s already a queen.

Love this app but huge bug. It’s a great chess app, but it has a very frustrating bug that allows pawns to be taken when they shouldn’t be. Not all the time but every few games black will take a pawn that is left/right of him by moving where the white pawn used to be.

Glitchy. Occasionally the king and rook will move at the same time, even going over each other. Also game will stalemate 9/10 times when its clear there is no stalemate. Only the king not having legal moves is NOT a stalemate, stalemate is when NONE of the pieces can move. By this games logic, the starting position is stalemate. Fix this please.

Straight Forward. I’m a novice. This game allows me to play at my level and win one once and awhile.

Chess on demand. I been looking for a chess game for my mobile. I found this one. I’m very satisfied with it. Helps me pass the time when I’m waiting on a table at my favorite restaurant.

Check the rules. About every time I win it says stalemate. I would like to see this faulty program fixed.

“Chess”. The 3-D graphics are excellent. The game level is excellent. As I progress, I look forward to this game with these 3-D graphics, but of greater complexity against me. I am a happy chess warrior, and thank the creators of this game!

Odd play behavior. An easy opponent who makes random moves until the Hard level where I typically end up with a few pieces on the board and no real end to the game

False Stalemate. There are many times where I’ll hold the upper hand, however, the game preemptively calls it a stale mate when I get so close to winning. Also, the puzzles are strange in the fact that your hints don’t refill (not even 1 a week)

Chess app is a lot of fun.. This chess app is a lot of fun but I do wish when a pawn reaches the other side of the board that I had a choice between a knight, took, bishop or queen, after all those are all choices in the real world game.

Glitches. There’s a number of glitches I’ve noticed on here. Especially in the puzzles. Right now I see puzzle 593 has glitch that makes it impossible to solve. When I move pawn e2-e4, the black king disappears, taken by a black pawn. I cannot find any other way to beat the level either.
