What a great game. This game is awesome but I feel like it would be better if you could play online. Can you guys try to make that happen? I feel like you would get more downloads.

Dear god. Some of the people in these reviews are so unbelievably stupid. Half of them aren’t even giving feedback on the app, they are just whining about how Checkers works—a game that is hundreds of years old. One guy even said “the game will force me to make moves that cause me to get double-jumped.” Yes, idiot. That is the fundamental rule of how checkers works. It’s what drives the entire game.

Checkers. OMG! I have been avoiding this game of checkers until now. I decided to take a chance to see if l could do it, i.e. win and I won 3 in a row of the “easy” game. I loved winning but it didn’t come easy. Next I will play the medium. Wish me luck.

One Player Option. I LOVE the One Player Option because of the different levels and if you can jump again it tells you.

Irritating. This game forces you to play if it sees an opening. Even if the opening will result in you getting a checker taken. It also doesn’t allow me to play twice if I have two openings to take the other players checker. It has to be the same checker for the game to allow it. Which is unfair considering in the real game it doesn’t have to be the same checker.

Fun nostalgic game. Just recently found a large checker table at a bowling alley and rekindle a CHildhood game board memory. I bought a few board games to play and read reviews that someone downloaded a checkerboard app. I was thrilled to find this app and have been hooked!!

I love checkers. I like Checkers because it makes people happy when they’re bored. And when people play the game they get mad when they lose they can do it again so they can win! So then that’s how Checkers is awesome.

Dumb reviews. Seeing a lot of 3 star reviews saying "game forces me to jump when I have it" this should not deter you from getting the app as this is the rules of the game. Just as other illegal moves are not allowed so is not taking a jump when you have it. Many reviewers simply don't know how to play checkers. Update- They even added an option to take off force jump

Love this 💕💕. I love this, I actually didn’t know how to play checkers before, but my sister got this game and she started teaching me so I got it. I love this and I love how you can choose your level of difficulty so it’s not too hard or easy. If you love checkers or want to learn how to play checkers, this is the app for you.

What Gives?. My only gripe is that the game suddenly quits on me when I’m in a head-to-head competition & it’s down to last few checkers left then all of a sudden the screen changes back to the main menu. If this keeps up, I might decide to switch to another game. Its been awhile since I’ve submitted this review and this problem still continues. Hey, anyone “Not” paying attention to the reviews?

Easy. I see people say it’s really hard even on easy mode but it’s not hard I beat hard with no undos or hints and I’m 11 years old the game just takes skill

The other game. I have 2 of there games both are great there not like other games that are so easy to complete and once you’ve done everything it’s boring. Chess and checkers is different,it’s amazing!

:/. Good app to give your mind an exercise, but the "force jump" setting stays on regardless of whether I turn it off or not. Therefore in any game I play, any jump I can take will be taken automatically without my say so, taking away personal strategy and resulting in more annoyance than anything. Not recommended, there are plenty of other checker apps that are way better than this one. Very disappointed.

More Puzzles!. I enjoy playing the puzzles that are offered. There were only 35 listed and I thought that after those were completed there would be another page full of puzzles. I was disappointed when there wasn’t. The puzzles really make me think. Great brain stimulation!

Checkers. Love it! The best one although I have been having problem because it hasn't been working and it hasn't been available. I have been trying other ones but there not as good.

How to beat level 3. To beat level three first you move the leftmost piece to the right and then the rightmost piece to the left. Your king will be able to jump every piece

More Puzzles!. I love the puzzles option and I wish there were more. I also wish that you could replay puzzles so you could try out other strategies instead of the puzzle being unavailable as soon as you’ve solved it. But other than that this app is fun, challenging, and very interactive. I love it!

I defeated puzzle 3. I forgot what I did exactly but you gotta move the king last allowing you your other two pieces to get jumped which sets up the king for the final move of jumping every black piece :)

Fun but lies. I think this game is fun but it’s aggravating when you chose easy and all it does it tell you what the NPC is doing but it is still extremely difficult. I feel like that could be improved but overall had a fun experience with this game.

Cpu. The ai or npc is way to hard to beat but over all it's a pretty good game and it's fun on road trips and to play against friends even my little sister knows how to play its so cool this game is better than the Cracker Barrel app and that game is cool I totally recommend it to everyone even at work at school and anywhere! It's awesome 😜!

Good design week Mind. The game is great and it does exactly what it supposed to do the only reason I gave 3 stars is because when u play with the game hard is not hard enough for a computer it is easy to win on hard setting.

It won’t let me choose all the time. When I have a piece in play, it instructs me to move towards another place. But I know that if I mive my piece there, they will dominate my piece after I take one of theirs. It doesn’t really give me a choice when that happens, but overall the game is kind of good-

This is a good app, but.... I really like this app. It is a good way to play checkers when you are by yourself. What I don't like about the app, is when the computer doesn't want to move, it will move one piece back and forth until you make a move that it likes(aka when it can jump one of your pieces). So you can download this app whenever you feel like being frustrated, but it is not a good app for learning to play, or improving your skills(obviously a real person won't move one piece back and forth continuously).

Mrs.. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR FREE GAME! This is one of the first games I downloaded on my first iPad & now I play on my new iPad. I like it because I don’t have to put up with ads! It’s the only one I can think of that I’ve downloaded that doesn’t make me watch ads.

Good game, some flaws. This app’s pretty nice. It’s accessible and easy to play and helped me learn how to increase my skills. My only grievance is that the AI is monotonous. It did not help me win the checkers tournament because people play very differently from the bot.

Good interface.. Overall, this a good app. I like the straight forward interface. The ads are not too bad and don't interfere with the game play, which very nice. The undo feature is handy. I would like it if the engine was a bit stronger and less predictable. Still, I think this app is well made and doesn't appear to have noticable bugs. Good job. If you ever get this working well with an engine closer to the strength of the Chinook engine, I would be interested to pay for that.

A little annoying. Well even though there are some unfortunate things this game is okay. But my complaint is that if you have a jump then it practically makes you jump your opponent . The reason this annoys me is because I could either move forward to the right or jump my opponent to the left but because I could jump him the game wouldn’t let me move forward without jumping him. And the reason I didn’t want to jump him was because I would just get jumped back. And that caused me to lose the game . And although there are other games to play , when I want to play checkers on my phone , I want it to work. Other than this minor problem I think this game serves its purpose and I would recommend it.

Good App. Excellent. Very flexible and regards to difficulty level, number of players and color that provides opportunity to select whether you want to play first or second. My only issue is the most difficult level is really not that difficult. I would rate the difficulty about a seven and a 1 to 10 scale.

I love this game. I found myself recently obsessed with checkers, this game has great graphics, sounds and I love that you have unlimited hints. You can play against a robot or with someone else. But there is one thing for the difficulty, I always set it on easy but I still find it really hard to beat the robot. But switching it to the hardest difficulty seemed easier than the lowest difficulty... I’m just a little confused. Overall I’d definitely recommend this, great time killer if you’re bored.

Frustrating. The games are way too impossible, in the levels they are so much of a coward that it’s inhuman, another thing about the levels is that I’m trying to trick them into moving closer to my kings, and the keep on doing the exact same two moves back and forth, back and forth, and so on. Ended up deleting from frustration. If you have 2+ hours of experience of checkers and want a time waster, then this app is for you, but if you don’t have that amount of time, then I wouldn’t recommend this app.

More puzzles please. Level 3 is impossible, although 2 people here claim they got it. There was another level that started out in the negative and I only passed due to a glitch where a certain sequence caused black to give up a checker for no reason. I suspect the same for level 3, although I seemed to have tried every possible sequence. Very frustrating. Also the hard mode isn’t really hard, can beat it every time no matter the starting move.

Not that bad. When I got this app it started out pretty fun the it was hard to understand this game every time it’s my turn there’s yellow arrows. Can someone explain this please! Oh also I would recommend this to a 8 year old. Checkers is hard I’m a 9 year old and this is hard. (Maybe because normal is on) 4 year old is a no go I don’t think a 4 year old would be able to understand this.

C Your mom. Yeah it’s great like it’s helping me play chess I just checker was a little bit more fun and I also wish chess you didn’t have to download the thing again it’s just annoying I would like to have chats on the same app so I gave you a four star review

Best free checkers hands down. I’ve tried many of them and this one is simple, not annoying with ads and just works. Great one player experience

It’s okay... This game is great, but the reason it doesn’t deserve 5 or 4 stars is because it’s impossible to win. I put easy and I can’t win, its clearly not a good easy mode. It’s not fun when you can’t win, other than that this game is great. It also doesn’t get 4 stars because it only lets me be at the bottom,I can’t be on the top or go first. These are problems for the one player, so don’t think this is for 2 player. If you only gonna get this to play with friends and rarely use 1 player, I recommend but if your like me and are only gonna use 1 player most of the time, I would get a different app. Also the undo button doesn’t function.

Puzzle level 3 Answer. Got stuck on puzzle level 3 for about 4 months and it would drive me crazy just to find out that I can pass the level in 2 moves

Good but op computer. The one thing I don’t like about this game, is that the normal difficulty and up computer essentially doesn’t make mistakes. Basically the only way to win is to force it to make a mistake.

Good, But One Thing:. Okay, so me and my little sister love checkers. This afternoon, me and my sister decided to play this game, Checkers. However, I noticed an unfortunate glitch. Err maybe it isn’t a glitch. But it still caused problems. Me and Ava played on the new Two Player feature and took turns passing my iPhone back and forth. In the near-end of the game, she accidentally clicked on the wrong spot on the board so I clicked the Undo button. Nothing changed. She was irritated because the only option I was provided with was to capture her piece and win. I don’t like the fact that it forces you to capture your opponent’s piece whenever you have the chance to, giving you no other option. Otherwise the game is okay.

For The Beginner!. I'm a new player to the game of Chess and a veteran of Checkers. With that being said, I think this app offers something for the beginners as well as the more experienced players, with a verity of games to please everyone.

Classic Checkers. This game will challenge the most sophisticated of Players….It will teach the novice & Challenge the Masters while so simply keeping You occupied and pass the time away…..all you need is the Country Store and two Rocking chairs …..

Good but a major issue. Although this is a good adaptation of the original game checkers, this game has a huge flaw. The thing about this is that every time you get the opportunity to take a piece it makes you take it, even if you don’t want to. So all in all a game with a good idea but with a very annoying flaw.

Good mind test. I use this to see if I am mentally tired and to keep some of my thinking broken up with a fast paced game of checkers and the app does not pester me to try too many other things or switch me to some website. Very nice user experience if you like checkers especially.

Great! But.... Great! But.. The thing is that I really hate the fact that the game makes you jump when you can jump. But I don’t want to go that way some times because if I do that the robot has checkers near me that can take my checker and I don’t approve of that. So please I think this game is great and still 5 stars but please take away the part where it makes you jump when you have the “chance” .

Yes this a real review. It’s an overall fun game if you don’t have friends :(. But the bots are crazy me personally I am a checkers more than chess person and I sick at it but I’ll get better.

Not good for learning. I got the app so I could get good and beat people. I’m coming from chess apps, like lichess. In those, the puzzles are clearly there as training to get better. On here, it’s like they are challenges. I don’t see a button that gives you the answer when you can’t find it, and you have to unlock puzzles by beating previous ones. That makes it harder to use them as a learning resource. Also, I’m tired of doing the same endgames over and over at the end of the puzzles. It should end when it is clear that I figured out the puzzle, not when I waste time finishing the game up. Also, the hint feature is a joke. I wanted to use it to help me learn and get ideas. This doesn’t work when the hint button clearly doesn’t give me the best move. Overall, it just isn’t the learning tool I came for.

Forced Jumps Are Aggravating!!!. Many times I do not want to do the jump that it wants me to do. There’s a better move… a better option… for me, but it makes me jump anyway. I hate that about it.

Too hard!. On easy setting the AI will destroy you. I know how to play checkers! I’ve played checkers most of my life but the AI always sets you up for failure in this game. I’ve tried different strategies, randomized my moves and I still lose. I’m eventually left with moves I know will hurt me but the AI goes extreme no matter what the difficulty is set on.

Good game but.... Level 3 is actually impossible to beat. .. idk how to make a review of my own so I'm commenting on this one.. I was also under the assumption that level 3 was impossible. Seriously took over a year of playing those dang puzzles but I FINALLY got 3 today. It's doable! Just keep grinding

HINTS ARE TRASH. I like the checkers game but I have a minor problem... the hints you would think are there to help you... this game not so much... for example I was trapped by two pieces in the middle of the bored but since I was a king I could of easily got out by moving backwards... but the game tells me to jump straight into the trap and since that was my last piece.. I would of lost!!!! THE GAME WANTS YOU TO LOSE!!!

Checkers. This is a good game and it's not one of those free ones where you have to pay for half the content after you download it. It contains a 2 player game where you and a friend can verse each other on the same iPod iPad iPhone etc. You DONT NEED INTERNET TO PLAY this game either so it's great for those times when you are just looking for something to do. Unfair! Otherwise..... Say you can jump over the other teams piece but the other teams different piece can jump over you. So you WANT to move a different piece of yours. The game will only let you jump over that piece and lose one of your pieces or undo. Therefore it doesn't let you make the right moves. I think it doesn't want you to win or something. Thats the bad thing otherwise its like a normal game. I don't think its a fair game though.

It's basic checkers. This app doesn't do anything to make it a good checkers app. It lets you play checkers at it's most basic. Would be good if it even had basic sounds and not being able to drag is pretty poor. With some tuning it would be a good checkers app

Checkers checked!. I used to love playing checkers as a kid and was delighted to find this in the App store. It is challenging enough for a good player and a great learning tool for a beginning player. I have played this with my husband in airports, and against the computer to relax at home. Love it.

Try it out. It's really good because because they give you hints and say if you wanted to do something really good but you pressed the wrong one you could just undo it and you can chose your difficulty and what color you want like white or black you should really try this it's really good well it's not good it's great!!!!!

Nice checkers. I find this game good easy to play and with enough customization to make the game interesting and fun. The skill levels and options are appropriate. If I was asked to make any suggestions a bit more customization in the player pieces and boards would be it.

Super. The game itself makes you feel like you need it but you can’t even see the other side of the story line and it gets the game and it won’t turn the heat up because you can’t make any changes in the game

Checkers. Checkers is a game that you need to be careful of because you can win or loose. You can change your bored an pick easy hard or expert . At first I started at easy and when I was lost I would press HINT . I would recommend this not for young ones not for older ones but for both.👧😜❗

Easy. Easy to use and simple to control without any awkward angles or tiny "pieces" that are hard to move. The A.I could be a little harder but otherwise it's not bad for if your bored and on a long travel journey.

Puzzle 31. Great app, however I believe puzzle 31 is not mathematically possible. I would love to be convinced otherwise.

BEST GAME!! 10/10. By far the best checkers game developed on the market yet, great gameplay, intuitive controls. The only thing I could poke at is the graphics and physics engine could be worked on, but even with that. It didn't stop me from playing it 12 hours straight! I can't suggest this game enough! App store must have!!

Cool game. I am not a checkers fan but when I got this app my whole perspective changed and now I am hooked on a game I never ever even liked!:) But the best thing is that it's free so everyone whose anyone can enjoy and get hooked also on this awesome game. Very happy with this quality. I teaching my 8yo daughter to play and the easy level on this can be beaten quite easily so she doesn't get too disheartened. As she gets better we can crank the difficulty up.

Just use the hint button!. I love this game it is one of the best games on my I-phone! I love board games but I can never find someone to play with so I bought the collection of all these board games and it's entertainment for hours! And there is no limit of hints so when I can't be bothered to use my brain I use that! And it's free!   

Checkers!. Great game, even though it's fast paced and adrenaline packed I have to say it's not as satisfying as playing with real people. It lacks that small slightly naughty pleasures, such as making small children cry. By letting them think they are about to win then crushing them with a few simple but devastating blows. If only the iPad could tremble a bit after a few good thrashings.

Too easy. Too easy

Don't expect difficult to be difficult. All three levels are nothing but easy levels. No real normal or difficult levels. Queens won't jump as many squares as they should. But in general a good game to kill 10 minutes when got nothing better to do.

Checkers. I play this randomly all hours. Frustrating when I get whipped but great when I win. Sometimes I secretly play a game on my life outcomes I usually win those coz I want a good outcome and concentrate on my game. Today is going to be a good day. 🤣

Fun. Fun and easy to play

Rules aren’t correct.. It only takes jumps when it wants to on the hard setting. If there is a piece to jump it won’t trade it and wait until a few moves later to take it.

Rigged and Unfair game.. If the computer is allowed to double eat then I should be allowed to do the same. Does not allow me the option to double eat where possible - but the computer just does whatever it wants to do. UNFAIR.

Hints are garbage. If you’re gonna have a hint feature, make it lass obvious, and actually allow players to do what they want. Essentially when a hint is given, you’re not allowed to do any other move.

A Good Strategy Game But Needs Some Improvements….. The Bad= To Start off The Computer feels like it’s cheating so that’s why I’ve only played maybe two or three games against the Computer, and all three times I’ve lost. And so Obviously that makes The Computer Feel Not Only Impossible To Beat but also to Play Against and not fun at all, and on top of all that it also obviously makes it feel so unfair on top of it. And that is why now when I have the need to play which is not that often by the way I only play it in the 2 Player Mode. And visually it would be nice to have at least a few more Aesthetic Options to choose from just for fun, don’t get me wrong I’m happy with one the ones I got but it’s just not a lot of them feel all that Appealing Visually. And for some reason I just don’t have a lot of Desire to play the App very often, and when I do it just feels a little bit of a chore. And what I mean by that is there is no way that I’m able to play let’s just a 2 out of 3 games in one sitting I can’t I just can’t sadly just the thought of it just feels a little Over Whelming to me personally. And that’s on top of everything that I have said. And also I feel that the Options is Non Existent at all in the App, the only ‘Options’ you get aside from changing the Aesthetic of the Board and Its Pieces and rather if you want Exit the Current Game or not, is the Option to Turn the Sound On or Off and that is located in the Main Menu As just a Button and the only other option is rather if you want to Switch the Force Jump On or Off before you enter the Game itself. And unless I’m missing anything else that should do it for the Negatives. The Good= Sadly the only Positive things that I could say about it is, the first is I enjoyed the Idea of a Challenge or Puzzle Mode I think was cool. Even though I never got around to trying it out ad of yet. Again Feels Like Chore to just enter the App. Anyways on the Flip Side of that Aesthetic I was talking about I do admit the ones that don’t look Unimaginative do look on the Kind Of Cool Side. Final Thoughts= I’m not trying to Deter anyone from Downloading this App as I feel it may not be a perfect Checkers App but it just needs some improvements as I have said socially in the 1 Player Computer Area.

Flawed. Reason I gave this game a one star is simple, if both the player and the ai play a game and make the same number of moves, equal amount of checkers on the board and there are no more moves on the table left, the it is a draw and not a “AI WINS”. Complete and utter garbage!

Needs work. It’s fun, and the mechanics are good, except for the fact that if you can take one of the opponents checkers out, it’s the ONLY option you are allowed to do. It’s kinda stupid

I was so exited to play but as soon as it was my turn to make my first move you were like ‘move this one were I tell you’ and guess what? I did and then your computer double jumped me! Are you kidding me?!. I used to be very pleased with this app. I am not anymore. The app only lets me move certain pieces, it chooses my pieces for me, and I am NOT pressing the hint button. Also, once I was playing, and suddenly, it said my opponent had won. None of my pieces were gone yet, there was no way they could have won. This app does not understand basic rules of checkers. I am very disappointed.

Main issue. It is a fun game but my only issue is when I’m playing on hard difficulty, the computer just runs away or does the same move over and over like cat and mouse.. never gonna win if the computer keeps running..

Pretty good. This is a good app it is my first day playing but so far I love it there’s no adds and I can just play in peace finally

Not So Good. Okay, this game is fun when you play with an opponent, but when you play by yourself they make you lose on purpose. You might be the best player and they would force you to have to press something that would make them win. So in my opinion this game is a big cheat and I don’t suggest this game for people who hate losing for no reason all the time, or for anyone.

Freezes up. Good concept but needs work. While playing games an arrow will suddenly appear showing the move that was just made. Then the player cannot make a move or a jump. Even when using the hint feature, jumps cannot be made. The only way I know to fix the problem is to stop the game and start over. I will be deleting the game.

Follow the normal checkers rules. This game would have been great if they followed the actual checkers rule like a king should be able to stay anywhere no matter how long in as much as it’s a straight line but in this game app, a king can only backward or forward but can’t jump more than a step . Awesome. It lets you choose to do force jump or without. If you are a beginner you can do easy, medium, or hard. So you can challenge yourself. I say that you should get it. It is awesome!!🤩🤩

Too easy. Easy to beat at all levels and playing either color. Computer sometimes does not make its required double jumps. Also, when the computer is at a disadvantage, instead of playing for a draw, it pretty much gives up and suicides. Not a challenging computer opponent at any of the levels.

Best for lunch time.!!. Every day, for a few month now. This game makes me forget for a few minutes my long day at work.!

I like the idea that you can select how difficult it is. I like the idea that I could try things and hit “Undo”, if I made a big mistake. It’s relaxing to play!

Major problem. It’s fine, but there is a major problem with it. When I have the ability to jump a black piece I am forced to. During the game, it is sometimes a minor inconvenience. At the end of the game, it is a terrible one. I’ve locked the kings spot to win, but I am not able to with this. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Puzzle 03. Hours of enjoyment. Only problems are the "hints" option usually leads you to lose and some of the puzzles (like puzzle 03) is impossible to beat. I believe its a design flaw

Why the volume?. Great game other than the fact that even if I have my phone on silent w/o the volume on, it has the sound...weird.

Not worth your time. This app is terrible. I have been playing checkers for many years. I figured I should download a checkers app. At first this seemed fun and all but I discovered a pattern. No matter what, I always end up losing. It’s just not a fair app and it seems likes it’s rigged. So if you want to play, go for it but it is not fun or worth your time in the long run.

Great for a game when your out of town. It’s a great game to play in car rides or when your fine

Not very good.. The AI in the game is insanely rigged and knows he best moves on every difficulty, it’s not fun what so ever it’s just pure annoying, I try over and over again but the AI know everything, also I hate that it forces you to jump your opponent when there’s other options, this is a TERRIBLE game do not download if your trying to have fun.

Addicting. Pretty simple checkers app. Lots of puzzles to play. I found myself playing it everyday to beat all of them. Finished all 92 puzzles but stuck on 72 (it’s so hard!).

Lots of fun. My brother is really good at checkers and I wanted to beat him so played one hour of this and i was able to beat him. I am addicted.

Most annoying thing ever!?!?. I like to play chess so I downloaded this game and it is so annoying that the game make you move were you get eaten you can’t even choose another chess coin when it makes you pick one I can’t even play the hard medium or easy modes correctly when it does that pls fix that is so annoying?!?

Other than one thing.... So this game is pretty good other than the fact that it shows you where you can go. My opponent would not have gotten a triple jump if it did not show that you could do that. Please fix, now!

Pretty annoying. Even on easy mode, it’s still hard and I always feel like the developers are making the AI way too advanced. It’s not easy to get around, even on easy mode. So be warned, easy difficulty will not help you if you are having trouble
