Wish I could add more than 1 photo to square. The only option is to replace an existing photo or create new. This would be easier if I could add additional photos to my items since it syncs with my website. Other than that it’s easy to use. When I remove backgrounds it sometimes thinks my soap is a background and removes it. So can be a tedious task.

Could be better if. So i’ve been looking through all of the different ai backgrounds options correlating with my products, weighing which looks best with it. I haven’t saved or actually used any option. Because it counts the number of generations you make instead of the phots you save/use, i can no longer see a preview of the backgrounds with my products. Its prompts me to buy so many photos for x amount of money. Its not worth buying if i cant preview (freely) before it counts towards the amount of photos i choose to buy.

Amazing App. This a is amazing! It takes your background and makes it disappear, and then it gives you choices of the type of backgrounds you want behind it! I have not seen another app like it anywhere. Also it’s free if you use the square app already!! I would definitely recommend using this app for sure!!

Needs more background options. I initially chose a background to use for my square online store, a month later that background disappeared and I couldn’t continue using the same style of background. The website lost consistency and I will have to redo all the pictures again. I created some items with a background that was only a base without a backdrop and now I cannot reproduce it

Cool but need more options.. This is a really cool feature. But, I want to be able to add custom backgrounds not just colors. I would want to be able to add my photo to another photo or take a photo with the cut out photo on the screen to customize even more.

So close.... The images are perfect croping and quality, 4 stars because it doesn't remove any background inside the product. For example, if you take a picture of a donut; the hole will have the background image.

Magic for ecommerce. I’ve spent hours and hours over the years manually removing backgrounds from photos, trying to get lighting just right, and worrying about shadows and backdrops. This app magically solves all of it in one easy camera snap.

Once great app now another cash grab. Loved the free Photo Studio — it’s what kept me with (and loyal to) Square now that their fees are almost comparable to all the other processing services. Now that they’ve update the app with a list of really nice ai-generated backgrounds — which I thought would be a fantastic new upgrade — they’ve decided to start charging for the ai photos. All without letting you see a preview of your photo before using. You pay for 40 photos and end up having one deducted every time you generate it to see how it looks with your product. I like to test out a few backgrounds before deciding on a final one - with their new costs, I’ll just be wasting money trying to find the best background. Also, they claim 40 free to start out but I tried out at most a dozen and now am being charged for it. Very disappointed in Square’s approach to this. Nothing separates them from all the other processing companies now.

One of the best…. I’ve tried many apps and programs to take images of my products over the years and this one is the easiest and best I’ve seen. It can take products even on complex backgrounds and create colored or transparent backgrounds in seconds. Plus it was free so kudos to the development team on this outstanding product!

Love it but... I love editing my photo and being able to directly add them to my square, but I wish I was able to create an item the same as in the Square app. You are not able to select modifiers or select more than one category.

Quick and easy. So far, this has been awesome. This app makes it super easy to simplify taking product pictures and directly uploading it to my item listings!

Please fix your app. First, thank you for making this tool available! I do have an issue however. It is incredibly annoying and counterproductive to have to keep scrolling through to find images because your app keeps switching to “all photos” in the middle of attempting to find images in specific albums. I understand the app primarily is for live snapping so maybe there was not a lot of thought in the retrieval of photos not immediately selectable but that should change or just remove the albums option since it defaults back to all photos while accessing the album.

Super easy to use. This app is so amazing!! It’s so easy it take little effort. The choice at the end on sending it straight to my website and or save to camera roll makes it even better!

Has potential but lacking core features. Taking/Uploading and tagging photos works great. Cutting out backgrounds works great. Easy to use overall. No way to rotate an image. Can’t upload more than one image to a sku (only replace). No way to add images to a specific variation of a sku (available on web). Doesn’t resize images so uploads are huge too too heavy causing slow loading. Photos take a few minutes to show up in your admin/site. Work on some core improvements from the average user perspective and it’ll be a very useful app.

Perfect for PNG transparency! One click!. I use this for adding isolated items to my artwork compositions. It is a very happy accident for me! I found it while building my Square store. I downloaded it to check it out, and was amazed at the possibilities of this awesome app. It is now a must have for me.

Happy Individual. I really like this app and am glad Square has it. It makes it so much easier to be able to take pictures of your items and not have to edit them and remove any background. Makes it faster to get new inventory pictured and posted!

Great app!. It works awesome but i would ask for more ways to work the details (add/remove) when working those backgrounds with rough edges… other than that it is awesome and easy to use.

Existing pictures. Works fantastic! Can’t wait to see you guys add more options for background plus the ability to open my gallery and pick a picture I’ve previously taken of my products.

Those dark overwhelming days are over. 🪄🪄🪄🪄🌅🆒🆓🆕🆗 Welcome to the best app for not only making your items look professionally photographed thanks to some gorgeous yet minimal features on the app like the shadow effects in those dinky boxes but also removing the need for a green screen with proper lighting with people. I do wish it had a video mode. But overall, I’m happy It caught my eye & I found photo studio. Ok! Now back to 📸 of expired trousers pantyhose & socks. 💁🏻‍♀️🩲🧦🤳📱 👟👠🩱👙🩴 🪄🧎🏼🤏🏻

WAS A GOOD APP 😡. This was a good APP. Then they decided to change and start charging. Which is fine, I get that people want to make money. But this is a SHAM!! If you pay for a package of 20 pictures then you expect to get 20 pictures. Not in this app. When you use the generator it gives you 4 pictures to choose from. You would expect that that one picture, if you chose one, would come off your account. No. They dock you for all 4 of the samples!! And if you don’t like any of them, so sorry! You just lost 4 pics! This is an incredible RIPOFF! And A SHAM!! 😡😡 SHAME ON YOU!!!

Good app, with problems. The app is fine and makes good pics for the system. Problems: The app randomly logs out. When this happens, attempting to log in again returns errors a number of times before it will suddenly and unexpectedly work once again.

Good concept but falls short. My one issue so far is you can’t take and upload multiple pictures. The next picture replaces the first it doesn’t add, most websites have multiple pictures of the items they are selling it would be more convenient to be able to take the picture and upload to the site and not have to save then go back and upload

Don’t Download. This is really useless if you want a quality photo. Unless you have fantastic lighting and a great camera on your cellphone, the photos don’t look very good. Would be better if if the app could remove backgrounds from photos that were taken with a professional camera & lighting. Then you would have a great looking product and cool background. But with this app you get a subpar looking product and cool background… doesn’t add up and customers will be able to sense that something is off.

AWESOME- One recommendation. Your application is incredible! It would be very handy for my business. You are starting to charge for images right as I am starting to understand the AI part of all of it. Furthermore you are charging for something like 200 images? Give an option for unlimited images and I might be interested. It really is a shame. Will probably call it a day.

Update: Scenes are back!. Trying to update my prior review but the App Store isn’t letting me. This app has been indispensable for quite some time. A recent update removed the feature I use the most: scenes. It is important for us to have consistent backgrounds and the AI feature doesn’t allow that. I contacted support about the issue and explained to them why it was useful and they listened! Even though a small percentage of users of this app has that feature, they brought that back for us. Thank you very much Square! Thanks for listening and changing the app. It does not go unappreciated! Add a tip feature so I can provide some monetary reward?

App crashes and Categories feature won’t work. At first glance I loved this app, that was until I tried to use it. The categories feature will not sync with my site, I have 4 categories on my site I take a photo tap add to square, and boom 0 categories shown, I have to create a new category for every single item I post via the app and then clean it all up on the back end IF and only if the app doesn’t crash mid upload! Spent 2 hours on the phone with square, did all the trouble shooting, delete and reinstall, log In log out, update IOS, restart phone, reset network settings. Now I’ve been given an internal email for the “photo team” who I haven’t heard back from. Really hoping to get this resolved because it seems like an awesome app. Just awful tech support really, impossible to get someone on the phone that knows anything

Cut my workload by at least 60%. This phenomenal app if you have the ability to use it, is so easy, simple, and beautiful all at the same time. Something that would take me 15 minutes on photoshop took me less than 30 seconds in this app. However, there’s a lot of apps out now that offer that, but how many can post DIRECTLY TO YOUR STORE?! None. Thank you for making this awesome app, and I can’t wait to see where the future of Squareup goes from here.

Not consistent. The backgrounds are random and I rarely get to use the same one twice. I really wanted a more uniform look with the nature backgrounds. I’ve also been charged $20 twice but I’m not sure why.

Works Insanely Well!. I work at a Lacrosse store where many times, we have to take photos of our custom products. My light booth does a decent enough job, but this app saves me from all the editing I’d have to do on Photoshop or Lightroom. Usually I’d dislike AI for taking a potential job (lol), but this just makes my job easier; the final product is so clean too.

So easy to use.. From the download to being able to save the pictures with various backgrounds. Could not be easier.

Update: 1.4.4 is a lot better now that the scenes are back💕 thank you Square! ———————————————— The current version (1.4.3) where the previous background is have used or any is NOT THERE! my photos now will not be uniform 😡 I hate AI. I’d rather have the option to use old backgrounds or the new. Do better Square!!

Not yet.. This is an amazing addition to square!!! You can literally sell straight from the app. The only thing that I really don’t like is the fact that you can’t upload you own images or multiple. I have a ton of white background photos on my website that aren’t 100% white or you see some weird shadow and it would be nice if I could use this to clean up what I already have without rephotographing it.

Surprised 😮 exactly what I needed…. I am loving this app I totally forgot I downloaded it and just opened it up and started playing with it with my pictures and it does stuff I’ve really been needing with my brand. So I totally love it!!!!

Awesome app now. I’ve had this app for over a year and was horribly unimpressed in the beginning with it. Now I’m FLOORED AND ENAMORADA!!! Like I can really be my own photo shoot person!! No extra props needed just knowledge of how to crop photos from your phone!!

Wow! Impressive Beginning, Please keep working on it :). In it’s current state (version 1.0.2) I can’t use it. Seeing the replies to other’s feedback, I’m encouraged. This app is needed very much. I searched for years and have not found anything. Pros: A catalog item can be created easily with Photo, Title, Description and Price. With WooCommerce integration the item syncs! Cons: Needs ability to take multiple photos of an item. There are no camera controls to adjust focus, lighting, or other photos settings. (See ProCamera for an abundance of ideas) Suggestions: No SKU input: For UPC items a scanner would be useful, for non UPC items a SKU template would be useful. Audio recording so I can capture details while inspecting the item. (Dimensions, weight, etc.) Get some target niches and beta testers in those niches. This tool is not really going to be used by people who sell mass produced items that have professional photographs (i.e. the Keds tennis shoe example).

Easy to use. Love this option. It’s ready to upload images on the site without having to snap a picture from another source and then upload it to square.. this oppression is easier.

Time & Money saver!. This app makes running an online front even easier without the added cost to start up. I feel fortunate to have come across it!

Great for a small Business!. I use this to sell my bracelet and cards it works great and it is very convenient! I love the backgrounds and how you can change the cut if it is not how you want it. One thing I will say is this app is not for cutting out people it is just for objects. Don't RETHINK THIS JUST tp get.

This is awesome. What a game changer when it comes to our website photos for our home baked goods. By removing the background (our cupboard or table) and adding a little shadow effect, our products now look totally professional! Syncs quick and easy with our Square sales app and website. This makes us look good while making it so easy!

Not user friendly to retail. Unless you know how to take photos and have a concept of lighting this app is not very user friendly. Sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to get a good picture of some trophies with white bases. Oh sure you can refine background but make one swift move with your finger and you get all kinds of crazy images around the item. Frankly this app is extremely frustrating

Nice. I think it’s cool to be able to edit photos and upload them directly to an item on my website. Very Convenient! Would to be able to do a little bit more, maybe more options with generated backgrounds . Great Job Ya’ll!

Amazing. Thank you so much square four everything you do to help my small business. Couldn’t do itWithout you. And since the pandemicI had to close my business of eight years. Now I am reopening and have discovered that I have to sell things online it really hasn’t been easy making the transition because I’m more of a hands-on face-to-face kind of person . But times have changed and we all are adapting so I’m adapting to the new way. this app makes it really easy

In love with this app !!. I’m going to be obsessed with this app for weeks. I’ve been wanting something like this for years! It’s making my online store so much easier to build! Even though my different companies sent me media images, they didn’t fit in my online store dimensions. Each company has a different look too. Now all my photos will look and have the same quality.

Barely configurable, doesn’t do what I need.. The only thing I like about this app is its ability to pull the image away from a plain background and let me put in a black background. But it doesn’t allow me to select what I want to include in the photo; instead it seems to crop randomly based on what it thinks I might want to include. The settings button do not display any settings. Overall, I don’t think this app was ready for release.

Quickest for basic editing. This is probably the most simplistic and easy to quickly use app of this type for generating photos for e-commerce. However, the refine background tool is difficult to use in my opinion. It would be nice if you could see what will be erased while you are touching the screen and then actually erase when you release. Or if there was a way to draw a straight line. Similar to the way a line tool works on digital art programs. Its very easy to accidentally erase areas that need to be left and then you have to undo what seems like a million times to finally get the result you want. All things considered, this is the fastest way I’ve found to prep basic photos for selling items online though.

Love the app, but it’s Deceptive. We use square for our business and I got hooked on the app right away! It makes removing image backgrounds super easy and helps create great product images. However, it’s deceptive in saying it’s free. After so many images, it will start making you purchase them. As we already pay an arm and a leg for square’s services, we will not be purchasing more software from them, like this photo studio.

Elevates my pictures for square!. I love this app! It makes it so easy to see ale pictures, edit, use a different background or none at all! I can save it my camera roll or use it to immediately add to Square and create a new item. I will definitely be using this going forward, for continuity on my website and ease of use! 🙌🏻

Zero Support. I have tried to get support from every place possible for this app. Even my last review had a reply to say they had emailed me to resolve but nothing was fixed nor any advise offered. Seemed like they felt answering my review was enough. 1 email was not enough to even have a discussion.

Not working correctly. Seems since the update when you take a photo directly from the app you now only get a blank screen pic. Deleted app and downloaded again, worked for a few hours now doing the same thing.

Photos. If I ask for mountains I don’t expect marble. But on the whole it is great.

Great app but needs an update. This is a fantastic little free app that does what it claims very well. The only issue with it is when trying to select an existing photo from your photo collection it continually jumps back to the start when scrolling through which unfortunately makes it almost unusable when working with existing photos. If that was fixed it would be five stars.

So far so good. I started a business and have been looking for a background remover app for a while now. I’ve tried several different ones but haven’t found one that makes my items look good. I discovered this one and I’m pretty pleased. Sometimes I have to retake the picture as it didn’t take out the background in the middle of my bracelets. It’s super easy to use.

Use this before creating your items!. I wish I had known about this app before struggling with uploading new items to our square web store. This is blind simple, and you can sit in the warehouse with an old iPhone uploading everything while no one bothers you 😎

Ughh. I can’t decide if I love it or hate it! Awesome that you can quickly upload so easily, but every time I get a on a roll damn thing locks up.

Where was this last week?. I just spent several hours last week photographing about 20-25 different products for my new Square Online store. Had I had this App, it would definitely have been much quicker, easier, and would likely have turned out to look much more consistent and professional overall. I just downloaded this app and took a couple quick shots to see if it lives up to the developer’s hype. It did. So easy and efficient and the results were spectacular. Square has really impressed me thus far with how far they have come with their offerings and comprehensive integrations for small business sellers like myself. They have really elevated our presence on the web and our ability to be professional. Looking forward to continuing with the Square infrastructure and seeing what they do next to raise the bar even further…

Can’t access to libraries nor than an few times. Can’t open from phone library after first time opening and now can’t access Instagram account When it did work, it was great.

Removes too much. I’m an artist and it removes the background in the painting as well as the background behind the painting which makes it useless. Hope you can make it a little smarter in the future.

Super convenient. Super convenient but rather annoying you can’t add photos to variations or multiple photos to the same item. Seems to only let you add photos to the “parent” item

Works great but could use some improvement.. Photos are hard to take because they don’t default to horizontal position. They appear 90 deg up from the horizontal. A selector to select horizontal would improve the function of the program. It would also be helpful to be able to access / use my personal existing photos to avoid unnecessary time loss to create new photos. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Decent. This app is a love/hate. I love that we have it. But it’s so glitchy and finicky. Square as a whole is glitchy and starting to be more expensive, while getting less and less. Adding retail can be difficult as it doesn’t show the whole name so it’s hard to add pictures to the right product.

AI Feature gone. Loved the AI feature, started using it and then it has been taken away. Very disappointing.

Freezing. Started using the App this week and it be keeps freezing between shots. The background colour option is great.

Loved using it until the update. I was using this for my at home micro business to advertise my products and absolutely love it but the recent update removed the AI feature I had been loving. Super disappointed as I can’t keep up with the same level of images for advertising my business.

Needs to be improved!. Certain things like changing colour of background and shadows etc...) needs work as you don’t see the options properly for some and causes confusion. Another aspect that can be improved is having pictured backgrounds as example a table with options to add a plant or the product without the original background so that it looks like a staged product with a editable background like the way Canva allows you to do. Would be nice to have here on square as well.

Could be better. I like the background remover function and well almost everything about it. Here is my problem…. When I first started using the app I wanted to edit a photo from my camera roll so I used the option in the app and added all the photos I had to this app. And it worked great. Here is where I have run into issues. I took new photos which are just on my iPad in the camera roll (did not use this app to take the pics as I was doing a mass amount of photos and just wanted to get them done quickly so I used the regular iPad camera app). Now I want to edit them in the square photo app but I can’t figure out how to load them into the app. I feel like I’m missing something. App would have more stars if not for this issue.

User friendly. This is such an easy app to use and to upload to the pictures to the inventory.

you have made this app useless. The main reason I downloaded this app was to be able to update and add to items and their variations already in my shop straight from my phone. I was able to do this when I initially downloaded this app but am no longer able to…. Quite frustrated

Better access. So much easier adding photos of items vs downloading them to my pc then uploading to square!

Sq. Studio’s AI you’ll Pay For. Beware it says it’s free to use Sq. Studio but after several uses AI generated backgrounds it requires Paying for a # of pics. And if you pic 1 of 4 of a type of backgrounds that is generates. It counts 4 of the prints of your # of pic you purchase not 1. And not a lot of backgrounds to pic from that are free. Maybe 5

Impossible for Me. It would be great if I could learn to navigate through this app. Very frustrated. Not user friendly for me.

Great but downgraded. First time using it loved it, then it gradually starts crashing since couple of updates before and ever since the recent update whenever I save the photos it’s not saved as a consecutive numbers but as a long random numbers and letters with hyphens.. example: 1D2F8CA7-39D0-4E7B-9246-ABF124FCB02C

Glitchy. I like that I can add photos directly from my camera roll to an item, but I can’t scroll past a certain point without it resetting back near the most recent photo. It’s irritating and defeats the purpose.

Not ready for prime time. You can’t adjust the zoom. It’s incredibly slow. If you have time to wait for 15 seconds between shots, then it’s fine, I suppose. If you are trying to take a dozen pictures to get the best one, you’ll be at it for a very long time. It also leaves artifacts at the edge of the pictures. Not much better than taking a picture with the old Instamatic’s.

Get this.. This is a great help to a small business owner like myself,im just starting out and I can’t think of any other program to be so easy yet efficient.

A question-. I really like the simplicity of the app, but it seems like after you upload an image, there’s no way to delete it? Am I just missing it, because that seems weird.

Great idea; still needs work. I love the concept of this app, as it removes several steps from posting an item, but it doesn’t make good use of the power of my iPhone 13’s camera. I can’t get as close as I’d like, the edges are fuzzy, and the background shows up in any holes in my pieces.

Glitches. I still think I have a beta version. Still some glitches and freezing where the force closes on its own sometimes during editing.

Great idea but needs work. This is a great app and idea. I have used it extensively but it does not produce studio quality photos. Especially the edges of the items are blurred or just rugged when you zoom into the photo. Once it generates really sharp edges, then it will be great

Not loving the way you charge for AI. I don’t think it’s fair that you charge for every AI picture It creates. It would be more fair if you only charged for how many pictures I choose to save. Most of the AI pictures you give me I don’t like.

This app is unreal amazing. I don’t know how many hours, set ups, and photo editing apps I’ve tried to get the results this app produces in seconds! My mind is blown 🤯

Exactly what is looking for. Just take care of the lighting, take a picture and it removes the background automatically. Very clean and clear pictures

Looks good but…,,.. Some issues I saw from the start Added one pic then couldn’t select more until I uninstalled and reinstalled. Probably would be easier for me if it was on a column we platform. I will do some more exploring and document the results.

Game Changer. I cannot tell you how much time this app saves me in trying to perfect photos on my own. 10 stars.

The best. Easy to create pics with different backgrounds then intergrate them into square and your library.

Great App but. I use this app for creating product photos for my business. It has so many options, but I do want to say that I wish you could rotate the camera in the app bc I want to use a phone tripod and it should rotate for that.

It’s ok!. As of right now trying to load older pictures and while scrolling through my roll it glitches and all the sudden you are back to the beginning.
