Terrible, just flat-out bad.. This game showcases everything wrong with the mobile game market, as it's riddled with complications that make room for micro-transactions. Worst of all the gameplay itself is nothing more than hoping you get whatever random pieces you need to beat a level. And progression? Good luck with that. There's a lives system that depletes one when you enter a level.

DEVOLVERRRR. WHY DEVOLVER? STOP MAKING ADDICTING GAMES! Remember though, addicting doesn’t mean good. The game is fairly weak and very VERY annoying with its IAPS, life system, and incredibly hard levels which often force you into watching an ad or paying FAR too much in game currency to add an extra 20 seconds on the clock. The business practices in this game are scummy. Keep clear of that but besides that, no forced ads, and you can change the background color. Those are some upsides, I guess?

Struggled at first but then... Once you (buy the unlimited lives for 3 bucks and) realize that the game is meant to be a no brainer, that’s truly when the game shines.

Terrible. Expected better from Devolver. This is no more than a terrible ad-filled piece of garbage. It is beyond my understanding that this game has over 4 stars. This is mobile gaming at its absolute trashiest. I guarantee you'd have more fun playing with actual garbage. One star isn't low enough.

Hard stuck at 75. I am hard stuck at level 75 there is an objective I have no idea how to complete because nowhere in the game does it explain what the symbol means or what the requirement is to complete the objective, so at this point all I do is occasionally play the dailies and that’s about it. It’s an OK game but the idea that I can’t get past this one level means that I play this game a whole lot less than I would have otherwise.

So much ads and pay to win. It was fun at first but there’s so much ads and if you watch said ad they only give you 10 seconds. Got a big name company, you sure are asking for a lot of money!

Good game bad ads. This game is so fun! But at first it seems like you can’t progress unless you’re willing to watch a bunch of ads. Ads in themselves aren’t a problem but a lot of these ads are about 40 seconds long and it’s seriously disruptive. Even that might not be a deal breaker but many of the ads are scammy in nature and some are downright offensive (I don’t want to elaborate or my review will get flagged!). Then you hit a point where the game doesn’t really progress any more so it’s not worth the ad watching. Cute little game though so I’ll look out for new levels.

Micro Transaction Cash Grab. This is a standard, high luck, micro transaction heavy, cash grab, matching game. It has it all - timers that are too short, limits on number of games you can play at a time, multiple game-limiting “currencies” that you can either slowly build up or easily buy more of - which it frequently asks you to, etc. Devolver publishes many fun and unique titles on multiple systems. This is not one of them.

Great game!. I’m on level 718, is it only 30 second frenzy and match 2 or less now? Kinda wanted other matching. Still enjoying the game though!

Horribly stupid game, but not for the right reasons. I understand that this game is a thinly veiled slight at the mobile gaming industry, which I can come to appreciate on its own. The actual gameplay itself, though, is severely flawed. Match-3 and real-time physics don’t play along real well, and when you’re holding down on a matching set in order to score it, something usually tumbles out of place to unceremoniously breaks your match with no recourse or feedback. Graphically, the game looks fine, but it was very overwhelming to me at first. The visual similarity between some of the toys during the game can be incredibly frustrating, though, as each level uses a random set of toys and some look nearly identical in color and shape. In a game that demands speed and reaction over all, this is a significant hinderance. There’s definitely an enjoyable game in here somewhere, and I can understand the appeal, but its questionable presentation and poorly designed core gameplay make it a miss for me.

Sigh. Little disappointed in Devolver. Simple and Fun game at its core but the apps clear intention to to make money from additive mechanics like gatcha, collecting meaningless objects and pushing their merch. The game even seems self aware which kind of makes it worse. Just because you make fun of the bad thing doesn’t make it okay to do the bad thing. I think it’s possible to have a good game with micro transactions and this one actually does okay at it but it’s just something I didn’t want to see devolver ever make.

Favorite game!. Addicting cycle, great art design, I just wish it was easier to unlock new characters.

Match 3 and physics don’t work together (Still). There’s been a bunch of match 3 games that have the gimmick of the pieces falling and bouncing around the board, and like always, it’s just finicky here. The pieces barely connect and if they jiggle for too long they unconnect and you gotta touch them again. But Honestly the mundanity of this stupid gameplay formula is the least of the problems here, it’s really about the lives. I do not understand the point of a time waster that limits the amount of time you can waste on it, it’s greedy and scummy, but never have I seen a game give you so little time to even spend on it in the first place. You get like 5 minutes of gameplay max before you gotta go do something else because you ran out lives. And sure, infinite lives are only 2 dollars, but don’t be a fool. The core gameplay is so boring that all you’d be doing is wasting your money. Just go play a better puzzle game.

Pretty interesting concept, but lacks interesting gameplay. Just kinda boring. Made it about 15 levels in and I’m still just doing the same thing. Doesn’t feel rewarding, challenging, or fun

Fun but too many systems and curriences. The base game is a lot of fun but I am having a difficult time following all the different currencies, what they do, and how to unlock things. I feel like I am just sort of guessing any what anything actually does. I spent $5 in hopes of unlocking new characters but then I just got the same character 4 times in a row? Feels like I threw my money away (that I was happy to spend on a free game!)

Disappointed by Devolver. Usually Devolver games are a blast, but this is packed with micro-transactions to the top. They even limit how many times you can play unless you pay for infinite lives. Theres micro transactions left and right. Might as well charge for every tap on the screen.

Even More Addictive Than The Song. Any follower of Devolver has been hearing the Tumble Time jingle for MONTHS and this game is a HIT that has me even more hooked than I thought possible. Absolutely in love with it and glad that the matches find themselves instead of being dragged.

People don’t get it. Devolver made this game and if you don’t know Devolver, you don’t know their tendency to poke fun at the rest of the world and the normalcy of most other games. This game is a match-3 puzzler and nothing else. Plain and simple. Microtransactions are painstakingly pushed in your face, but it’s done as a joke regarding the microtransactions of mobile games as a whole. $100 to unlock everything in the game is a joke. An actual joke. The game itself is pretty addictive. I’m hoping they add a good amount of additional characters with more unique abilities. Some sort of endless mode would also be great. The daily challenges are really fun, but some of the regular levels (especially the character challenges) can be extremely tedious in the additional objectives that are hard to reach with a specific character. All in all, if you enjoy match-3 games and can handle some ads here and there, I say give it a shot.

Super fun!. Loving this game it’s super charming and addicting. Hope we see more from that rich guy character he’s very funny. But maybe this game could use a few more characters from different series? A rep from katana zero would make me really happy, or maybe even inscryption!

Not worth it. Game has potential but some levels are so difficult to pull off within the time limit you have to constantly fail or force yourself to watch and add to gain 20 seconds to try again. Game is artificially forcing more ads than necessary. Physics are also just too finicky. Find a better game

Hearts. The game is amazing and fun, but wouldn’t it be better if the game does not remove one of your hearts when you complete a level? Because then I have to wait a while before my hearts regenerate.

Fun game but not the timed mechanic. Fun game and I really like it but I hate being under the gun on every level. Let me take my time and find the best moves. Adding a level timer just takes the fun away for me and seems completely unnecessary.

I love Devolver. I love devolver and all their titles, and most of the good ones are in this game, they should just add every single other one in my opinion also when are they releasing Hotline Miami 3: Right Number? idk but you should download this game fr 🔥🔥🔥

Fun game EXCEPT…. You can’t pass most levels without watching at least 5 ads. They don’t give enough time. On a charter challenge it’s at least 10 ads. And half the time it crashes while playing an ad and you lose your progress. Even better, when they run out of ads it starts playing the same one every time, so you have to watch a 20 second ad every 10 seconds of play.

Shameful money grab. I love many Devolver titles but this game horrible. It could be fun it the game was actually playable without endless adds and ploys to get money. There is always one match that you need in order to clear the board but there simply aren’t ANYWHERE NEAR enough of them. You can get 70 matches if the game only gives you 20 of them. I spent the $3 for unlimited hearts because I wanted to play longer than 2 minutes at a time. Wish I hadn’t wasted my money. You can do better Devolver!

Very fun little matching game. I gotta say if if I didn’t like this I would just explode it’s such a good game it’s like there’s so much detail there’s like seven currencies I know it doesn’t make sense but like the currencies are to get like premium trash pole and also there is you gotta press the button multiple times when there’s not so could you please fix that

Still can’t beat level 52. I have been trying to get orange heave ho for 3 days now and I can’t get him and the problem is in order to beat level 52 you need the orange heave ho because you need to get donuts and I don’t know how.

Timed matching at the mercy of an RNG. If you’ve played any other mobile games where you’re under pressure from a timer to match three or more objects randomly generated then you’ve played this. After the first few rounds they graduate to being just doable if you’re lucky enough with the RNG. Don’t worry though, this one also lets you pay money for advantages, or you can watch advertisements. This is exactly why mobile gaming is a joke.

Amazing aesthetics.. Such a good time killer, love it. Ads are completely optional. This is a solid mobile game and out of nowhere! Thank Devolver!

Ironic Predation is Still Predation. While the actual gameplay loop is pretty fun, it’s a bizarre choice to actually have predatory micro transactions in a game that’s satirizing them. It’s just really odd and leaves a bad taste.

Exactly What I Never Knew I Needed. This game definitely occupies time (and space). I love the jokes about ads, and how the devs commit to the bit by giving you ad-purtunities! My only wish is I could be a better consumer of Devolver products, and allow myself to be monetized to the greatest extent allowable by law. plz add crow <3

Good game, greater parody. This game is a very good parody of mobile gaming nowadays, with all the rampant ads and microtransactions, simple gameplay, and needless currencies when you could just use one. And it’s not that bad to be honest, sure the ads might turn one off; But they aren’t too in your face, you can just wait to get more hearts. And despite the simplicity, the gameplay is pretty fun. (Also where biker from Hotline Miami?)

Get the joke, delete the app. A throwback to a simpler time, when Adult Swim poked fun at games by actually making great games, only Devolver’s version lacks fun or a point. While the game concept is actually fairly novel and the graphics, sound effects and characters are well done, the entire enterprise is ruined by roadblocks and janky gameplay mechanics — which, I guess you’re supposed to glean, is a joke! Because mobile games, amirite? Or something. The idea of poking fun at microtransactions and mobile game Skinner boxes by making a worse version of the same is cute for about two minutes. Once you’ve had your two minutes, delete it and move on.

One of the worst mobile games I’ve ever played. Like, the bar was already low but this is incredible. Bad physics, matching is hit or miss, RNG issues, frame rate issues, terrible balancing (you’re going to be watching ads more than playing the game), and some of the slowest progression ever all wrapped up in a title that seems like it’s trying to make fun of microtransaction riddled games while being one of the worst offenders out there. I have no idea what the intention was with this one, but it falls flat in every aspect.

Pretty boring. There is nothing to this game at all. I thought I would draw the line and match stuff up but no you just push and hold and it matches all the same icons itself. There are better time wasters out there where you do something.

Pay but still get spammed for ads.. Game is set so hard that you’ll constantly be prompted to watch ads for more time to complete mission (which you have to click “no” to 2x after every attempt) After paying for premium. Yeah paying for this one was a mistake

The idea is fun, but the execution was terrible. I’m a huge fan of these kinda games. Great way to spend time. But the problem is that there’s no real reward at all and eventually you become unable to get passed levels. It’s just grind and grind for tiny rewards. Not once in the time I played the game did I ever manage to get one of the special rolls. It was coin grinding over and over. Some stages you could just barely beat as well. They limit you to a character you don’t have, so it’s watch add, maybe make like an inch of progress, watch add again, progress actually decreases, watch add again, repeat. Another issue with gameplay is that getting combos can be really difficult if the icons are moving even just a tiny bit. So many times have I been interrupted as I hold my fingers down. It wastes a lot of time. On top of that is that the only way you can play it is daily stages and main levels, limiting the replay ability. What’s sad is that this game really hyped me up at first. I would definitely have recommended it if there was more fun to it. The characters all from games I happened to love. But the execution for this game was done very poorly, you could even say it was a literal execution of what the idea should have been. I really wanted this game to be incredible. My first impression was that the gameplay looked similar Yo-Kai-Watch: Wibble Wobble. I was expecting the game to be almost as fun. I have deleted this game as I don’t play it anymore. If they make some noticeable changes to make it playable without spending money then maybe I’ll check it out again.

Good Time Investment. Despite the 5 lives and 1 use of a life each play, this game is very fun! I’ve played almost an hour without stopping and find the view advertisement for life replenishing to be worth it considering the gameplay. The gameplay is smooth and addictive with that grindy nature that makes the player feel as though they are working towards something. All-in-all, I like this game so far and can’t wait to see where they take this game and the content they release as it goes!

Fun for 30 mins. Fun game to pass time but in long run there is no rewards for progressing or beating missions. Game legit trolls you makes you grind for most tiny rewards. Cool art style fun for 10 mins but in long run unenjoyable

Level 35. Impossible to get fever 4 times

Hooked, but confused!. Addictive and nice to look at, the increase in time limits by spending stuff or watching ads is way too short, but otherwise, great fun. However I’m genuinely confused at some of the higher levels. When it has a stuff icon, what’s the game asking me to do? 4 x rings? Okay, what do I do to achieve that? I even watched the tutorial back and it’s not explained at all!

A fun marketing tool. It’s great. The game I most hoped for is here and Volvy wants me to be entertained forever.

It got more! But some of it is gone.. The new update wiyh the level based system definitely makes the game feel more progressive, but the removal of free-play, high score oriented play is really frustrating. Sure there’s still dailies and events, but being able to get better in that way over time is a really important thing to me. Bring the old options back!

devolver tsum tsum. yes it’s a blatant rip off of tsum tsum but whatever, nice mindless dopamine fun for your commute, plus it’s devolver characters so what’s not to like. ILL TELL YOU WHATS NOT TO LIKE: bad frame rates on my ye olde iphone 8plus. surely you can optimize it to flow a bit better on older hardware! that would turn this four star into a five <3

Glitch. Once you get to level 300 the game Bugs out and the timers and challenges don’t work Hope they fix this soon and fast losing interest in the game

Devolver Scam. Devolver of all companies I did not expect this scammy garbage from. It’s nothing but ad spam after ad spam by the time you hit past level 30 because 60 seconds does not cut it. They push for you to pay as constantly as possible but luckily I’ve played enough trash to mnow better. The ads made me delete this garbage and that’s why you shouldn’t download it.

Fun game under shadow of monetization. Enjoyable game with little in the way of increasing difficulty outside of making challenges force players to watch ads in order to complete a level and move on. Often asks if you want to buy everything and limits time heavily otherwise making the unlimited hearts a bear necessary purchase to enjoy it in the first place.

I want to like it…. I want to like it, but even after getting the pack for infinite hearts I can’t get through most levels without watching like 8-10 ads due to the short time.

Wow. This is awful. For a company who makes fun of the same explosive crap in other companies, this game is no different. Multiple currencies, ads that don’t end unless you tap on them multiple times. First taste free garbage. I expected better from DD. I’ll wait until it’s on Apple Arcade where it belongs.

Great little puzzle game. I spent the money on infinite lives so that’s not something I’ve had to worry about but so far everything’s been great. Just being able to tap and knock out app connecting pieces is something I didn’t know I wanted in these games. Seeing little versions of characters from games I love are great but what I like the most is I don’t HAVE to buy anything. Character specifics can be rented for a coin penalty but earning everything seems fair and the game is fun enough to keep me playing.

Fun at first.. Around level 40-50 they make you get bonus time in every level, by linking 15 of a kind or by using a specific rare character. The game goes from fun and casual to headache-inducing and annoying because almost every level will make you watch ads for more time. Monetization is pretty heavy-handed, several of the currencies are totally obsolete, and by the time I was at almost level 100 I still only had 4 characters.

This game rules. So I love a match game and this one is very fun and a little different which is cool! The pricing is incredibly reasonable - if you’re into paying and throwing the dev a little money it’s very easy to justify!! I am delighted. The mechanics are fun, matching feel too. I’m early in the game so I’m excited to see unique powers and different bombs etc - thanks for this one!

Only one hotline Miami character. I downloaded this app with jacket as the front mascot to only find out that there’s only one hotline Miami gatcha character the games alright but feel kinda jibbed

Garbage game. Very disappointed in this company. Game is boring, it lags as well, what the hell are you doing with this kind of garbage? You should be updating and fixing sword of ditto and yet you come up with another garbage game?? Only success was sword of ditto but u don’t fix it so it’s also garbage like this game, never purchasing from devolver anymore! Useless.

App Store Ad Machine. After level 12 the levels are designed so you can’t finish them in time resulting in either watching an add to get a few more seconds which then ultimately results in still not enough time. So if you want to watch 2-4 minutes of ads for other games each level you play then you will love this game. Otherwise this is a dumpster fire and should be illegal to call this a game.

Being “tongue in cheek” about your monetization doesn’t actually excuse it. Awful game. Some of the most predatory monetization I’ve ever seen in a mobile game, having to pay OVER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS to unlock everything. Making fun of predatory business practices in your ads and store page doesn’t excuse the fact that you do it, it just makes you a hypocrite. Multiple currencies, absurd pricing, limited tries every play session, all packaged in with a mindless and less than mediocre “puzzle” game. Play something else

Addictive but ..... Sound disappeared after 12 hours.

Great name, needs some tweaks. I purchased unlimited lives not because I wanted to but because it felt essential. You lose lives in order to partake in a round, but it doesn’t appear theres any way to recover hearts, even when clearing a stage successfully. This limits playtime, unless the user is willing to watch ads in order to get lives again, and makes the life system feel pointless. If players lost lives but gained them back for clearing a stage, it would add more gravity to difficult stages. A player might risk losing all five lives on one stage if the stage was particularly difficult. There’s not only adds to the difficulty, but creates a purpose for the life system, which otherwise pushes people toward paying to be able to continue to play the game. A “candy crush” style, life-system would make more sense. Gameplay is fun and addictive. Easy to get into, lovable gameplay and characters. Hoping for more updates and more music.

It’s good, but not enough to recommend.. The game is fun, but it’s still rough and full of annoying features that make you want to quit playing. It uses a ‘heart system’ which means every time you play a level, regardless if you win or lose, you lose a heart. Hearts refresh over time, but you aren’t able to play again until you have a heart to spend. This is pretty common in mobile games nowadays, and like other games that use this system, you can simply buy infinite hearts for real money, but it’s just annoying to see in a game. The characters are fun, but there are some that are leagues better than the others. This is disappointing as it makes it not viable to use characters from a game you may enjoy or have a fun power up since the game puts the main focus on continuously beating levels. A huge issue I have with this game is it’s ‘Challenge levels’, where the game will force you to play from a specific pool of characters. If you don’t have the characters unlocked, you’ll be provided one for free, with the exception you’ll lose rewards due to you not owning the character. Punishing players for not paying into the micro-transactions or getting lucky with whatever free character pulls they can scrape together after 15 or so levels is atrocious, and Devolver immediately follows this up by suggesting you buy their ‘99.99USD Buy Everything’ pack. True slap in the face there. The game is decent, definitely some good/fun grounds here, but I definitely expected more out of a publisher that’s put out some smash hit games in the past. If you’re wanting a Match 3 game like this, I’d get Disney’s Tsum Tsum instead, it’s a much more polished and enjoyable game than this, at least so far.

Not very forgiving. Balancing is brutal. Around level 20 you’ll need to collect over 50 characters, but might have only 3-4 on screen at a time. Timer is too short. Then for an extra 10 seconds it wants 800-1500 gold which is a massive amount. 1500 is almost enough to buy a new playable character. Half the time the Free Ad button doesn’t work and 10 seconds is only enough to make 3-4 matches if you are fast. Yesterday, I watched 5 ads and needed only 1 more character when the ad button stopped working. Sometimes it doesn’t work on the first press. Way too grindy. Just not fun. Daily suffers even more. I love the art and music, love Devolver characters but just feel like the balancing is too unforgiving to keep me coming back. I’m fine paying for lives etc, but even paying for time 10 seconds just is not enough since you have to hold down to make a match instead of just tapping matches.
