Good not great. This game has a lot of potential. It is a fun game to play, the controls are good and the gameplay just feels great. My only problems are the way the transfers and other clubs are made. It is tougher to get good players in this game which I think is a good idea, but it is almost impossible to do anything without an elite player. I had to buy a good player in order to have a chance to ascend to first division, other wise it would not have been possible. Once I ascended I had a job offer from Barcelona which I wanted to take, but the game makes you start the team from zero which makes no sense at all. Why would I want to go to a big club and have to start from scratch. Retro bowl allowed you to move to a different team and keep the players that were already included. Overall good game, just lacking some of the great qualities that retro bowl had.

Great, but…. This game is really good in my opinion but there’s a few things that I don’t like about it. 1. If you want to start in the premier league only one team would want to accept you and sometimes no team wants you in the Prem 2. I left my ok team to go to my favorite team which is pretty good in real life but when I went there everything was just back to square one. 3. Why does it cost so much to re-sign a player when their contract expires? I had a 2 star youth academy player that cost 800 bux to re-sign. It didn’t make sense and I hope this is improved in the future. Apart from that, I love the game and I probably won’t stop playing it anytime soon.

Very Disappointed. I am absolutely in love with RETRO BOWL and I’ve been playing it since it came out I have won every achievement and spent money on the game and still play it often. I was hoping RETRO GOAL was going to provide the same kind of lovely arcade style sports game but sadly IT DID NOT…First off, why is my team the only people with no competence no matter what start level they are. In what world would a 5 start player gain control of a ball and run a straight line out of bounds and no teammates make an attempt to make a run and if they do every single time my team gains possession they’re facing the wrong way because as I said they NEVER RUN FOWARD? How am I supposed to play authentic futball when my team acts like they don’t know how to play. I am playing as PSG with all 5 star stats and easy difficulty. I should not be getting angry at the ridiculous AI. Not to mention every time the other team touches the ball they somehow accurately clear it across the pitch and I miss my opportunity every time. The game is just downright unfair I already said I would spend money on it so I don’t know why it has to be so difficult to accomplish things. Please make the AI more responsive and play like real players. When they get the ball stop making them stand there backwards to goal. It’s unfair and unrealistic. I cannot complete passes if everyone of them is a back heel to the opposition.

Fun but why can’t you play a however long you want. I just started playing and the game is really fun and enjoyable when you get the controls down but why do you have to spend money to keep playing your save I wouldn’t have an issue with this game if you didn’t have to spend money to keep playing I can understand if it’s players and in game currency but you want the people to keep coming back and playing so why restrict that it makes this game not free to play it’s like a free demo and then you have to spend a dollar to keep going if that’s the case then why not just price the game as a dollar in the app store instead of saying it’s free then forcing them to spend a dollar for the rest of your ability to play what I enjoyed about retro bowl is that you could build a god squad without having to spend money but now your forced to spend money just to play the game and that confuses me great game though just make it free

Good gameplay, but not worth the monetization. I was excited to try out this game as i love retro bowl. It is truly one of the best sports games on mobile. However, when I downloaded the app i was very disappointed to see the attempt to monetize the app. Although the fee isn’t large it is still an obvious cash grab. Retro bowl is perfect with its Premium that you can pay for and it gives Free To Play players an option to enjoy the game without spending pocket money. I gave the review four stars because although the game was an obvious attempt to get cash to the devs, i truly enjoyed the game with the 10 free games i got to play. The gameplay was immersive and i enjoyed the game a lot! Don’t make the mistake of throwing away an opportunity for a great game with a big audience by monetizing the game with a paywall. The game has so much opportunity so it is truly a mistake to make players pay for the whole game.

Controls don’t work as well as bowl. Could be another banger like retro bowl (likely my fav mobile game ever) but the similar controls scheme to bowl just doesn’t work nearly as well in this one. It ends up getting very frustrating. I think an actual on screen button control scheme would benefit this game greatly. While still keeping some of the touch parts such as shooting and even passing, it’s mostly movement that’s super frustrating and could benefit greatly from a d pad and maybe a sprint button. Oh also the money system seems to lean much more towards having to spend actual money vs retro bowl where you don’t really need to at all, it seems like it’s much harder to get coins in goal and/or everything seems to cost much more, it seems like it’ll take a ton of work and/or actual money to get good players and that’s a put off as well.

Very good gameplay, too dependent on in app purchases. I love retro bowl and so was excited for this. The design of the game and the gameplay are great, feel even better than retro bowl. But the ‘bux’ system is clearly set up so you can’t keep players on your team unless you are constantly feeding money into little purchases. At a lower level, I only have 8 players that cost and none of them are particularly great (max out at 4 stars and most of them are only around 2.5) and I’ve gone undefeated for several seasons and I still can’t keep enough ‘bux’ to afford to even just keep them all. Developers deserve to make money, no problem, I just wish more would welcome a bigger initial cost rather than attempting to make us buy over and over and over.

Flawed But Still Fun. Having a ton of fun with this game, but there are a few things that keep me from giving it 5 stars. My biggest gripe is the way the game handles you switching teams. As it stands currently there’s absolutely no reason to take another job with a different team. Whether you accept a job with a big name premier league side or a 2nd division French club you get stuck with a crappy squad and no good facilities like you’re back at square one. I made the switch on my first team and I’m really regretting it now. My other big complaint is the way the game handles defense or lack there of. With no way to control your defenders you just have to pray the computer is nice to you. If they can update those 2 I’d happily give this 5 stars.

IDK just some ideas. 1. I feel that a team such as Phoenix constantly rank at the bottom of the chart I feel they should be able to “rebuild” faster per say and in 2-3 years be a top team and if not top then a mid pack team. 2. I’ve rebuilt the Phoenix team for they are my favorite team and won countless titles I’m talking 5 star offense 5 star midfield and 5 star defense but the moment I left that team they collapsed I get that I’m the coach and losing a great coach can cost a team but they shouldn’t crumble to the bottom of chart. 3. Players after retirement should be aloud to be one of the hirable coaches that you have the opportunity to hire. I’ve had some star players that i feel had a legacy cemented for the team and I would love to see them comeback as an assistant coach. 4. Just like retro bowl I feel there should be a hall of fame for I know at least in the United States there is a soccer hall of fame. 5. I wish you could see the statistics of your players such as the amount of goals made in a career amount of assists and amount of passes for the goalie the stats would be blocks/saves and passes but I also would find it quite the laugh if own goals was a statistic the game had. I have more but these are my top five I’ll probably comment my other ideas but for now this is good.

Great time killer. First off, this developer has proven very consistent once again. Like retro bowl before it, this game is a great way to kill some time like if you’re at school or some other place. Gameplay is fluid and complex yet also simple at the same time. Despite being a completely different sport, this game is similar to retro bowl as far as team management goes and is even improved in several areas. Graphics are improved and there are so many team options to explore and so many things to win. My only criticism is the demo system for the base game where you can only play ten games before you have to pay, but if you have a dollar it a a worthwhile purchase to play the game forever afterwards.

Solid, New Star keeps up their reputation, some small recommendations though :). Overall really nice game. Can’t comment on a whole lot because I’m not too deep into it. One thing I can mention is that the UI is fantastic, maybe even better than Retro Bowl’s UI. I do have a few small recommendations though, a few changes that hopefully wouldn’t be too difficult to implement. The first is custom naming. A feature Retro Bowl already has, you could make it only available to full version buyers. But it would be nice to customize the names of your players The other is custom appearances. This would include access to the full range of preset faces, and the ability to select one for each player. Also, maybe adding in an option for custom shoes (nothing too complicated, just a single color), might make players more recognizable on the pitch :) Overall, still a great game, those small changes would make it even better!

BEST MOBILE SOCCER GAME. This game has every team imaginable, from the premier league, to MLS, to even national teams. I play this game every day and never get bored. The controls are very fresh and there’s even better “expert” controls that help you make more accurate shots and passes. I only have one suggestion. This year they changed the kits for every team but only for new careers . I have an old one though and I would like to see the new kits for Chelsea and this is very disappointing. As a hardcore fan I feel after every season ( in game )you should have an update/ refresh where even old accounts get their new kits. I have grown very fond of my players and hope you consider this feedback Thanks - Brent

Amazing game, but not flawless. Retro Goal is a fantastic game. As the successor to Retro Bowl, I had high expectations for the game and in many ways, those expectations have been exceeded. However, I do think that the switch from the credits system to the new currency system might not be the best change. The cost of upgrades, contract renewals, etc. seem disproportionately greater than they were in Retro Bowl, and it almost feels like you’re being almost forced to spend real life currency to keep your team afloat.. obviously this is a mobile game so in-game transactions will be important but in Retro Bowl it felt like they weren’t necessary, something I can’t say about Retro Goal.. this is exemplified by the fact that some players in game are only available for purchase with actual money (also it would be nice if the game didn’t practically penalise you for accepting a contract from another team by giving you terrible players and terrible facilities regardless, it doesn’t make sense that accepting a contract from Man Utd would give you awful players, forcing you to have to spend actual money to be able to compete in the Prem, this was also not an issue in Retro Bowl, and thus made it feel a bit more realistic/fair, not incentivising the spending of actual money). It would be nice to see a more balanced in game currency system, but outside of that, I think the game is exemplary, the mechanics are great and it’s really fun, great game.

Like the game but some problems. Once I got over a few problems I’ve had fun with the game. Now I just have a few problems first being players not wanting to join my club because my training building isn’t high enough level. This is annoying because I’ll have my training builder at a pretty high level but I still have to pay more and wait 2-3 weeks for it to be upgraded. Another problems I have is I will be playing a mess up and lose my chance. Then the other team will score (usually 1 time but I’ve had up to 3 times) and with that I might mess up at the 80 th minute and the other team will score and I won’t be able to play again and the game will end which is kind of annoying. (An example of this is a game where I was up by 3 in the 31 minute and I didn’t touch the ball again until the 73 minute and it was tied) Also the other team will kick it and my player will be about to get it and it will say chance missed. This is extremely annoying because a lot of the time it loses me the game or I will tie because I just lost a chance to score. But overall a pretty good game.

Has potential to be special. I downloaded this game and had fun after the first 10 games and decided to purchase the full game. Game has been super fun to play and I have not spent a single day not playing the game. However, I’ve played the game for quite some time now and have some complaints about it. My first complaint is the dreading “Chance Missed”. What’s the point of having a great goalkeeper and amazing set of defenders if I can’t use them to play defense against the opposite team? I’d love to be able to defend against the opposing team instead of seeing the “chance missed” message. My second complaint is player contracts. They make no sense. I had player contracts that were supposed to last 4 years+. However, after the season had ended, player contracts would be near of even expiring, which is really annoying. Not sure if it’s a glitch or what but please fix this. Other than that, I think that player and stadium customization would be great. Lastly, when switching to a big team, players should not be poor along with training ground, youth academy, etc. If I get the opportunity to switch to a team like Real Madrid, I would expect to have a great set of players. These are just some things that I’ve noticed while playing the game for the past few weeks. Hope you resolve these issues!

They’ve done it again. I have to admit that it would be incredibly hard to follow up a game as polished and as fun Retro Football, but I can’t say that this game falls short in it’s predecessor. As someone who barely follows soccer, and usually has little interest in the sport, this game is INCREDIBLY fun. They’ve done quite well incorporating so many leagues and all of these countries, and it seems like the game will go deeper than what I currently understand i.e. family/favorite team. Every time a game like this I HAVE to buy the unlimited version, but I have to admit the game is more micro transaction prone than retro football, but honestly it doesn’t take too long to grind for a player of that caliber without paying for them with real money. Besides that I cannot complain about the game, and cannot wait until they release a retro basketball and baseball!

Great! Just lacking customization. This game is just as fun as Retro Bow to play. Really enjoy the game play and being able to play across all the different leagues. I really only have two issues with it. The main one is that there is no customization. One of my favorite things in Retro Bowl was that you could completely edit every team’s name, colors, and even their jersey. You could also edit players names as well. That is not something you are able to do in Retro Goal, even after paying the $0.99 for the unlimited version. I think it should be added, because I would to be able to edit all the teams and the player names as well. My other issue is that WAY too many yellow cards are given out to your players. Like I’m having 4-8 yellow cards given out every game, mostly to strikers and forwards, which makes NO sense. Attackers typically get the least fouls. And you don’t have control of this because it happens during the simulation part of game play. It causes an issue where I keep having my attackers suspended every other game almost. It is frustrating, but I enjoy playing the game so I get over it, but it would be much better if it didn’t happen as often. I’m fine with yellow cards be given out to my players, but in actual football matches, there’s normally 1-3 given out in a single game, not as many as I’m getting.

Details, Gameplay, and Business. First off, I think Retro Goal has the potential to match the game it rhymes with, it already has the best game details and little details, from seeing your name pop up in a news clipping saying you dont want a player back to one saying you are keen on landing a job at your childhood club, theres literally a social side to the game, something most games dont have, and its really a nice touch. The gameplay feels smooth and reliable once you get the hang of it, definitely wish there was more depth to the ref system than yellow cards for every foul though, but thats nitpicking. I took the challenge of playing hard mode and it is a lot harder than you would expect, especially after being a retro bowl guy, where hard seems like rookie mode, Retro Goal means what they set as difficulty, you barely get 5 seconds on the ball at that point. And business is a big part too, everyone knows soccer, much like the nfl, is a business, its all about the revenue at the end of the day. Every offseason is a budget build because you need that defender so they stop scoring five goals on you every game, but if you get the 4 1/2* one, you wont have enough to buff your forwards, and even then, you might not be able to bring back your youth player that just scored 40 goals, thats what i love about Retro Goal, its not one dimensional and it has so many little parts about it that makes it solid in its SECOND WEEK as a game! A five star was never in doubt

Solid gameplay, well thought out execution. As someone who lived RetroBowl for a while, the dive into RetroGoal was intuitive and filled with curiosity. I’m not a soccer fan by any means, so the mechanics and logistics allowed me to learn the ins and outs of successful strategies on my own at the introductory difficulty level. While there have been more visible purchase elements than RetroBowl, I haven’t felt like the game would necessitate buying players or additional BUX to have a fulfilling experience. It is a slow process to 100% complete the game, but I find that it’s not the route I want to go. I’m thrilled to pick up a match every now and then, and sometimes more than I should. I’ve learned quite a bit about the international soccer scene and I attribute it to the labor of love the developers have put in. RetroGoal is worth whatever you put in, whether you’re a novice or a completionist.

Great game! But…. I’ve really been enjoying this game so far! The games aren’t too long so I can easily play during some down time. The ability to play across multiple leagues and competitions is very enjoyable as well and is good incentive to collect trophies across different leagues. My biggest complaint which is kinda game breaking, is the contract system. At the end of each season, I’ve had players whose contract won’t expire for another 3-5 years expire before the season ends. Which forces you to either renew or release them. And if you have a great team… each contract is not cheap and practically forces you to restart at the next season. Theres really no way around it unless you want to spend real money each season on the in game currency to have enough coin to renew all players, which is very unfair. Or swap teams/leagues each season. I sincerely hope this is a bug. I’m happy to spend a little money on this game for players and in game currency. Just not every season (which is about 20-30 matches).

Great potential, but bookings and injuries need to be adjusted. This is a fun retro game with tremendous potential. The game play is great for a phone - fun but not to crazy to make it frustrating. In addition, the club management functions are outstanding. Buying/selling players and managing the club throughout the season are exciting and well done. The biggest problem with this game is the ridiculous booking and injury rate. Im averaging a red card per game and an injury every few games. None of my players have poor traits; the AI generates the fouls. It negatively affects the entire game; I'm constantly playing with 9-10 men and my best players are out for 2-3 game stretches. Add on an injury every few games and its hard to get ahead without spending tons of money to buy a bunch of subs. I don't mind spending money on good games, but I don't want to feel like its wasted. I would rate this game 5-stars if the developers fixed the booking and injury rate.

Very good but does need a few adjustments. This game is very entertaining to play, though it is a little broken at times (like fast players being able to run through the whole opposition). I think a few adjustments are necessary outside the actual gameplay 1. Adding more accurate competitions Some stuff like a playoff for the last champions league place, or no Europa league equivalent could be added to improve the game. 2. More interaction with the owner. The owner should be the sole decision maker for how much money you have. There should be certain owner traits like rich (more money available), stingy (less money available), or maybe a local v foreign split which could affect the fan rating. Also at the new season, there should be a new refreshed budget, instead of simply a carryover from the last year. 3. The transfer system needs a few adjustments I like the fact that it’s harder to run a profit in this game compared to retro bowl, especially because of how hard it is in real life to run a lower division side, meaning less money to spend on players. For the players in the transfer market, there should be a club that they are from, like when a specific club tries to buy one of your players. Also a transfer window is necessary and contract and transfer negotiations should exist.

Executed poorly. The concept of this game is incredible but the creators really botched its execution. The whole thing is rigged against you on purpose, the game bullies you into wanting to buy the “upgraded” version because your team is absolutely trash in the beginning. Even when you’re able to see progression in your teams stats the odds will always be against you in certain games. If any team has any offense better than your defense they will score on any turnover 98% of the time. This means every time you score they are extremely likely to score as well and if for any reason it’s turned over, you’ve now trapped yourself in a corner because they are almost guaranteed to score. It also doesn’t matter how good your offense is, if the other teams defense is better than 2 stars they can almost always keep up with your fastest player and will be ready to intercept the ball at any given moment. I’m sure once you’ve played the game a lot the stats of your team will be good enough but there is no sense of real progression because you get beaten all the way there and until that point there will always be a couple of teams who are practically unbeatable.

Needs just a few tweaks!. I really enjoy both this game and retro bowl. However, there are a couple of aspects of this game that I wish were more similar to retro bowl. Some minor improvements that I think would benefit the game would be: 1. Allow for creation of a team and place it in a respective league. 2. Allow for you to see which team you selected at the get-go (I selected a team at random and now I can’t complete certain achievements because I don’t know my “favorite team”… 3. Allow for you to view the standings of other leagues and for you to qualify for tournaments your new team qualified for last year should you join them next season- this way you’ll know if you are joining a team eligible for champions league etc. 4. Being back “dynamic” difficulty setting.

Great game, BUT..... Let me preface this by saying I’ve been a big fan of everything New Star has ever put out. All of their games are outstanding, and if you haven’t played other games, you should. Retro Goal is no different, taking the concept and design from Retro Bowl to the other kind of football. In most areas, the game is a total success. That being said.... Man, the booking system in this game is horrendous. It seems like every other game I am down to 10 men, through no fault of my own. If there’s a trait that all of my players have where they are red card magnets, I’m not aware of it. It’s beyond frustrating to lose my best players game after game. One thing I do appreciate about the booking system - I can commit fouls on my own and get booked for them! It’s nice to have consequences for my ill-advised tackles. That’s not what I’m talking about here though - I often find myself getting yellow card after yellow card during the AI simulation period of matches. I’ll often end up with 4 or more yellow cards from the AI, plus a player sent off (and thus banned for the next match. This is even more of a problem when you are playing the half season length). It feels unrealistic, and thank god there’s no yellow card accumulation ban in the game, or I’d have no players left. Apart from the booking system, great game. I look forward to many more hours spent with this app, as well as the continued updates that New Star is sure to provide!

Amazing but, a few things. This game is amazing and I find that the purchase I made was worth it. Of course, there is some flaws. One is that I wished the economics of the game would be different. I don’t like how when, when you switch to a new club, for example Arsenal, they aren’t as good as they were before you signed and everything. Overall this game is great, and I do know that this game just released but I do hope that over future updates, that we get more leagues and if not, have countries represented that don’t have leagues. I do notice that there are teams for example, Cruz Azul, that exist in the game but aren’t playable because the league isn’t in the game. I really like this game and I hope that in the future, it gets better and better.

Really nice game, needs some additions. MUST PLAY. JUST SO YOU KNOW: Offline and online game. Must pay for full version after 10 games (1$). Easy to learn controls. Simple and fun. This is probably one of the best mobile football (soccer) games I have played on mobile, it is offline compatible which I LOVE a tip for new players, the game is free, but after 10 games you are forced to buy the full version (1$). Some aspects of the game confuse me such as the yellow flag above a player, does that mean they are offside? I’m not sure. If you could put some sort of dictionary for everything that would be really nice! Suggestions: I think it would be nice for new players to add an option to buy the unlimited version+ an amount of gold, for a reasonable price, so that people get get the full version AND some extra gold (or money or whatever the currency is 😂) But still have the option to buy just the full version. Another suggestion is; as the game becomes more popular and such, I think it would be very fun to be able to play defense, instead of it just saying “chance missed” whenever it goes past half field. Thank you for making this game, I love both this game and retro bowl. I hope the developers can make more of these games! If the developers could read this and respond to this I would be very happy! 😃 From, your #1 fan (probably not #1 but still up there)

Doesn’t live up to its potential. I love retro bowl and I love to play soccer with friends, so I downloaded retro goal and tried it out and immediately though on opening “Wow this is incredibly different” which is good that it differentiates itself from retro bowl, then I started the tutorial, the money system: not very good, it feels like things are more overpriced, but I did like the fact that it actually took time to build up your stadium and boost player morale, now here’s the thing that really burns me, ITS NOT FREE TO PLAY!!!! You have to pay to even play after 10 games?? It’s also incredibly pay to win, controls are harder and players stop moving after they receive a pass, as well as corner kicks being impossible. To summarize, retro bowl is better for free to play, this is more the pro all done with retro bowl ready for something else game, looks good on paper just done badly.

seems good but is bad. I downloaded the game and at first it was fun. i was new so i played easy and it was on offense. Almost every time they needed a goal or 2 they got it. I would have to score almost all my chances. The reason this is bad is you CANT PLAY DEFENSE!!! WHY? This is soccer not football. It is so easy to make defense but the creators don’t, if you don’t have possession behind midfield it’s called “ Chance Missed” even if you’re player was going to get it. The AI always waists so much time and even on easy will score. Some other minor issues is i’ve tried and tried but a midfielder unless on corner or a crazy rare shot behind the box cannot score. As soon as the player dribbles near the box he passes to an attacker no matter what, even if you control the player you don’t. Similarly players will randomly shoot when i want to dribble. Finally, every time the goalie hits it and it should go out it stops at the line and you are forced to miraculously save it without getting slide tackled. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME. The worst part is the game is not only pay to win with the new currency that costs more than Retro Bowl but it’s also just pay to play as after ten games you must pay to continue. Overall it’s ok but not as good as Retro Bowl so save your money.

The game works 10% of the time. Headers only work if your on the other side of the field for some reason. Try to get a header? Team runs away from the ball, try to pass to team. They run away too, try to score a goal? Nope goalie saves it by someone grabbing the ball while standing up from 2 meters away. All of your starting team members should be in Little League because they run at the speed as a grandma, the only good people you have to buy for like 2,000 dollars. The enemy team somehow never gets yellow cards or red cards (even though they should). For some reason playing for the USA makes it impossible to lose but playing for Germany makes it so that all your players have brain damage. The AI acts like I programmed it from scratch. I win every game for a while only one (bad) team wants to hire me. Lose a bunch everyone wants to hire me. If I had to choose one game that fits “if everything is broken nothing is broken” I'd choose this one. Also every like 3 games I get an advertisement to get the better version.

Awesome game but needs a few ideas. After purchasing the unlimited version of the game I set out to become the best team in the league. After a shaky first season I bought a high rated forward and this is when things changed. With one good fast goal scorer on your team, you can almost score every time. After realizing this I upgraded the defense and set out to be #1. After just 2 more seasons I had completely dominated the liga league. I had around 5000 saved up for when I moved onto the premiere league. After simply one season I had taken my team to the top of the premiere league. At this point I wasn’t sure what to do. I had dominated every league I was in and now I was the champion of a world-class league. What I would tell the developers is, maybe make it so that instead of picking a team and taking a job I wish that once you had become champion of a league that it should send you to a higher level league. Once you’ve beaten most of the lower level leagues then send them to the premiere league. It just seems odd I can go straight from a low level league to the premiere league and dominate from the start. There needs to be more linear progression imo.

Logic?. The only few problems I have with this game is like for one, every 4-5 star player wants good training facilities, don’t get me wrong I get that but like if you switch teams it’s hard to get new players because you have to max out the facilities or else you don’t get any players you want. Retro bowl was nothing like that, you could get any player you want without maxing out anything which was much easier and not as complicated as retro goal. Lastly, if you go to a really good team, you should already have great players, for example Bayern, Barca etc you switch to those teams and neither of them have a single good player. Make it make sense! I’m not saying they should be packed but like even if it’s just a 4-5 star defender or midfielder it would be better than nothing. I’m playing as Bayern and I’m literally getting dominated by teams that are trash in real life and I have no good players like what? I like the game yes, but it has a lot of flaws that kinda make the game sour and make you a bit upset. I don’t like how you have to buy the whole version after ten games, retro bowl was a great game that didn’t force you to do that. I did have a 5 star striker and he literally can’t score, all he does is hit crossbar. If you fix these mistakes or at least make the game have a better logic than I would have given it a 5 star.

Advice from former retro video game dev on online websites. Here’s some advice I been successful in these types of games before like Minecraft to scratch but here’s some advice that will help you Number one you should update the game more often like monthly so you can assure you can always address issues quicker and you should update a league when the season end like update the Japan league when the teams get relegated or promoted and two you should add a name editor and you should had eufa but you can rename it to something like Europe championship or something. Finally add Central American leagues adding Latin American leagues will help cause Hispanics are one of the largest ethnic groups and the largest in both north and South America so adding more leagues can appeal to those countries also you should add more Arab and Asian teams to appease those ethnic groups too don’t forgot bout Africa also add Ukraine for obvious reasons cause we stand with Ukraine from a former retro game dev

Money and Team Training. Money is earned very slowly, you need to go through a lot of seasons in order to buy normal players, but you are struggling very hard due to the fact that you need to constantly increase morale and lvl up, update the contract and heal. If you assemble a full team, then there is not enough money at all for them to live up to half of the season at least. some of the moments and just score 3 goals and knock the ball out of the field to finish the match already. The money that was earned in the international competition cannot be taken away either, so why did we earn it then? I thought it could be different. The game is normal, but the minus is very strong in coins, so if you do not plan to invest a lot of personal money in the game or you are not one of those who like to collect coins for a long time, the game is not for you. Once this is fixed it will be much better for everyone. And the interest will remain the same

Has some issues, but a fun game overall. As a big fan of retro bowl I was really excited seeing this game hit the App Store, although it pains me to say it, it’s definitely a step down in its current state. The controls follow the same style of retro bowl where most of the interaction is swiping and dragging, but in soccer there’s far less downtime and so it feels a lot clunkier here. I often find myself accidentally shooting the ball backwards when I meant to make my player run a certain way. Also, the entire defensive element of the game is just luck based rabbit hole gameplay. It feels really punishing and un-fun to see your team give up 2 goals because you got unlucky and it’s just out of your control, finally gotta say my biggest issue is when the forwards get this little yellow flag over their head and just stop playing, as someone who doesn’t have a soccer background I have no clue why this happens but I gotta say It is incredibly frustrating to pass to someone, see them get that flag icon, and they just let the ball roll away, I think there needs to be a better indicator/explanation as to why that happens and how to avoid it. I will say despite it’s flaws I have had a lot of fun playing the game. But there’s just some mechanics that are so frustrating and unclear it spoils the experience a bit.

Bux System is Bad- Revised After 1 Month. Revised- After playing for about a month, growing a team is achievable in retro goal and the money does start to stack after awhile. My suggestion is not to change teams often, as this causes you to start over and have to spend a lot each time. The game itself is amazing, just like its predecessor. My critiques of it after playing awhile are: 1. No players should cost real money 2. Let us play full court, or stop the AI from just drop kicking the ball every time they get it 3 See below for original review- I come from retro bowl, which is probably my favorite phone game of all time. It’s balanced and growing a team is achievable. Salary cap is a great concept in that game! However, this game is a bit different. The mechanics are the same which I love, but the “Bux” system absolutely ruins the chance at growing a team. You only get like 1500 bucks per season, and that’s not even enough for 2 star players. This seriously needs to be fixed. Either an increase in Bux per game or going to a salary cap option is needed in order to actually grow a team like you can in retro bowl.

RetroGoal shoot and SCORES!. RetroGoal is the next sport iteration in the RETRO line of games and it is wonderful. Simplistic gameplay with easy to understand controls and fun franchise mode of play makes it a joy. Pick up and play mechanics make outings in the app quick and easy enabling the ability to play in different iterations and lengths of time. Like it’s predecessor “Retro Bowl”, I expect we’ll see many tweaks and updates to the core gameplay enabling even more depth to the fun while maintaining its simplistic franchise management model. As of now, I can easily endorse this product to all my friends and colleagues! It’s a fun day for soccer/football fans who just want a simple yet satisfying game to accent their passion for the sport.

Good game that needs minor features. Let the chance loss be more lenient instead of losing your chance because the npc headed the ball into your half with no opponents near it, especially if the defense part of the game is just text. Add little animation and maybe some slow mo to let the replays look a little more cinematic. Add a either a skill wheel or hand gestures for individual skills the you can unlock the higher level your player is. also maybe let us customize how translucent the shot landing mark is because it’s kinda hard to see it in the net. Finally, maybe let the user be able to make wagers with other teams like how other teams can wager them.

Great game just needs a tiny more work. Love Retro Bowl and was excited for a soccer version. The overall game is great and after a short time of practice I had the controls mastered. The only big issues I’ve run into are easily fixable. First, the booking system is a little over the top. I had a player receive two yellows and red with 0’ minutes played. A bit extreme. Second, the system to switch teams needs a lot of work. I’m winning the champions league and accruing records with my first team then get an offer from Barcelona or Man U. These are typically elite teams. But when you switch over to them they have one star facilities and players. There is no incentive to leave your original team. That is a big issue in my opinion that needs to be adjusted. I would love if you could bring over the customization of retro bowl to this game too. It was fun renaming players and coaches. Currently that is not available. Other than those few gripes, this game is a lot of fun. I think in another year and some tweaks this will be the best soccer game available. Thanks for all the hard work devs!

Brilliant, but needs some work. Long time fan of Retro Bowl, an American football game from the same developers. I always hoped for a soccer game in that same style as RB is a very enjoyable game that I have played for years. Retro goal fills that space and is easily one of the best soccer management games you can download on the App Store. It runs smoothly and plays very well. I just think that it needs some time to get further updates that will perfect it. I have no major complaints other than that about this game. It is a very good game, it just needs to be perfected and have the details ironed out. I have been enjoying the gameplay since this game debuted and I see great potential. As with RB, the real fun starts when you have gone through some games and assemble a stellar squad, it takes some patience. Give this game a year and it’ll be one of the best gaming experiences in the App Store, period. I highly recommend playing it, every single goal is a guaranteed euphoric experience. New Star Games understands what mobile gaming should be and almost every game they have released has been a highly enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys sports games.

Fun, but not as good as Retro Bowl yet. I enjoy the gameplay, and I love the amount of leagues and team they have, but the difficulty balancing and money system is not good. (At least in England) Normal mode is just too easy and hard mode is way to hard, since you don’t get nearly enough money to keep or buy any players and coaches, or upgrade facilities. It seems like they are trying to force you into buying more in game money, similar to how they force you to pay a dollar to play more than 10 games. Although to be fair, I did not have this problem with the USA leagues so it might be a balancing issue with some of the leagues. They have always been so wonderful at adding great updates in Retro Bowl, so I don’t doubt they will do the same with this game. It is a good game considering it just came out, so I will still be playing this and I will be looking forward for future updates!

Good game, but too many yellow cards. I played Retro Bowl before this and I will say that I prefer the graphics of this game over that of Retro Bowl. I also find the music to be an improvement. I also appreciate that despite having premium players, it is still possible to create an elite football club. However, there are a few improvements I would like to suggest: -I find that I am getting lots of yellow cards despite my players having good morale. I find my team getting 2-3 yellow cards in many games. This seems to occur most frequently when the other team has the ball. Please lower the frequency of yellow cards when the other team has the ball. -One of my players got a 1 match ban for receiving 10 yellow cards in a season. After 1 game I put him back in. He played 1 match before being given another 1 match ban for the same reason. I do not think that this is an intentional mechanic, as banning players every other match would seem a bit absurd. I have found the only way to get past this is by having the player get another yellow card so that they have 11 yellow cards in a season. Please fix this so that players receiving 10 yellow cards in a season will only be given 1 ban for receiving 10 yellow cards. Despite these concerns, the game is still fun to play. I look forward to what future updates will bring.

Fun up to a point. Roster/team building part of the game is great. Really enjoy that it can take quite a while to build a juggernaut as opposed to Retro Bowl where you can do it in two off-seasons. Gameplay experience is… just ok. Hard mode is fairly challenging at first because your players are slow, so you have to make a lot of passes. But you have some margin for error. Once that becomes too easy, though, all you’re left with is extreme difficulty which from my experience so far requires incredibly precise passing and almost immediate reactions. I probably wouldn’t bother if your roster isn't full of 4 to 5* (or super fast if worse than that) players. This is the same issue Retro Bowl had, although I find extreme much easier in that game. Devs need to find a happy medium in terms of difficulty, which could honestly be achieved by just making it harder to score when you shoot toward the top of the screen.

Possible New Features!. With a game this entertaining and simple the only thing holding you back is imagination! Here are ideas that may provide interesting and even beneficial features to the game. This will be edited as others send me new ideas and new concepts. (Stars indicate most wanted features) -Long sleeve jerseys -Gloves (possibly wrist tape even) *-Choose who takes the set pieces (FKs, PKs, Corners) *-New celebrations -More crowd audio (Boos when fouls are made, crowd jeering as you get closer to goal) -Crowd can be animate and just bounce up and down along the stands -Goalkeepers should not just stand still during penalties, they should have an animation to try and confuse you -Potentially different penalty POV like in FIFA -Trophy raising cutscene with your team after winning a title or other competitions *-Choosing a team captain -During opposing teams possession there will be cutscenes or short animations of how they scored instead of a brief summary (this cutscene can skipped) -Opposing AI teams will have their own star players -Individual player awards (most goals scored in a season, most assists made, most saves, player of the season) ^ (These players can also be in competition with other AI players from other teams with generated stats THAT AREN’T OUTLANDISH)

Uhhh… New star? You are Insane!!!. This game is great. Im just gonna say that right now. It is probably one of the most fun games i have ever played. First of all, it’s retro soccer so it already has 3 stars. Then it just gets better. The gameplay just gets better and better as they update the game. You can’t really get bored playing it and it’s fully ad free. (No, the other new star games ad’s don’t count because you can x out immediately.) With the new control scheme of expert it just seems like you have full control and it’s great. The tutorial is quick but good and you can play this game anywhere. Online or offline. I do have 1 complaint tho. Some days the game is laggy for no reason and it just slows the pace of it down too much but this is pretty rare. Oh and if you want to contact them you tend to get an answer within 2 days which is amazing. Okay Byeeee!!!

Retro Bowl for fans of REAL football. First things first: You owe it to yourself to plunk down a dollar for the full version. You won’t regret it. New Star Games took what worked for Retro Bowl and applies it near flawlessly to the beautiful game, giving you enough teams and leagues to hold you over for a while even without an official license. The in-match controls only require a couple of games at most to get down pat, and the simple manager interface will still give you a bit to think about: Want to sign that star player that could put your club over the top? You’d better have facilities and a stadium to match if you want to keep him for long. Two thoughts for the developers, which are basically nitpicking in nature but does hold it back from 5 stars: I would love to see a Dynamic difficulty setting a la Retro Bowl (harder if you win, easier if you lose, stable if you draw). Also, Global Championship would REALLY benefit from including regional qualifying, although I do concede that working this in would be a project in itself for NSG. But those are minor issues. If you have any level of interest in the world’s most popular sport, get this game. Period. And consider stop lights to be suggestions.

Could be good. This game has potential, but it’s a far cry from its predecessor, Retro Bowl. The controls are wonky. Be prepared for your player to stop running as you furiously swipe across the screen trying to get them upfield. Opponent’s defenders are routinely beating your player with max speed to the ball. Slide tackling is a mess that usually ends a dogpile until one of your players falls and can’t get up and the computer walks the ball across the half line. Don’t try a through ball through the air to your forwards, it’ll either go to far and the keeper will scoop it up, or the defender will turn in to Usain Bolt and get there just in time to head the ball to safety. If the opponent scores first, the best hope you have for that match is a tie. In those games, if you score, the other team will always have an answer. If you score first, you’ll likely run away with the game, unless you’re playing one of the top tier teams in the league, in which case get prepared for come from behind goals from your opponent ad nauseam.

Great gameplay. Hi, I love the gameplay in this. It’s one of the most fun sports games to play in my opinion. Some suggestions I have for improvement is to have a stats page where you can see player stats side by side instead of one at a time. Also, it would be simpler to have the contract length of a player written out as time remaining on contract and not by year and month. I also wish that the auto-pick feature weighted condition level higher when picking the starters, but it’s still a good feature in general. Also, a budget screen would be helpful for season-long planning because it can be easy to get caught out and forget that a players contract is coming to an end after spending money on the stadium or training.

Great game! A few things though. The full game was only one dollar, so I’m not gonna cry about it, though I like how in Retro Bowl it was totally optional to pay any real money. The gameplay is super fun, though there are a few things that are funky. The header mechanic can sometimes trip you up if you try to drop a lifted pass right in front of a player. If you swipe to set your players direction as the ball comes down, even if you haven’t highlighted that player in the yellow circle to select a headed pass, he will head it away, rather than controlling it and moving in the direction you wanted. It can be very frustrating. It would also be nice to see a change with the crowd noise to make it a little more fun to score. The crowd roars for about 2 seconds before quieting again - I wanna hear the crowd go crazy for muuuuuuch longer than that if I’m watching the player celebration.

Review. Retro goal is one of the best mobile games I have played and I love how fluid the gameplay feels. Some things I think would add to the game is if it were given a little more personality and variety. For example all 5 star players have the same stats for their positions and the only difference between them are their appearance or special traits if they have one. I think it would be beneficial to add a few more stat types to differentiate and make the players more special. Also in game positioning is a bit awkward players just run where you are putting the ball instead of making actual runs like in a real game. It would be a cool addition if players had their own moves when you dribble with them or special celebrations. I also think that it would be easy to instill defense into the game which would be huge in giving the player more of a day with what happens in matches. International soccer and the addition of the word cup would also be another positive to put in. Glory across all leagues is something to strive for but everyone’s dream is to walk away from their career holding a World Cup.

🐐 game. So much fun to play especially once you get used to the controls and start buying good players. Please make the shooting less scuffed when your shooting far post whilst your on the right side of the pitch :) overall such a good game go play if you love soccer would recommend.

Why do you need to pay?. This game is good and easy to play but you need to pay to play unlimited games. Why though? It’s stupid.

Simple, enjoyable soccer game. I’m not overly a fan of soccer/football games but I really like this one. You don’t have to be really invested in stats but there’s enough to manage that doesn’t bog you down. The controls can be a bit tricky, but once you get used to them, they work well. You don’t play the whole game, just moments where you can score. It’s also cheap too so worth buying! Well done on a fun game.

Amazing Game, idk why so many one stars. I could play this game for years. What an we’ll put together game. $1.50 is definitely worth it.

Doesn’t know the rules of football. You gotta respect the courage these guys had making a game about football/soccer despite not understanding how it works. Like how do we lose the ball when it gets cleared to my goalie with nobody on the other team around. You guys do know football players pass to their goalie in real life right?

This game intentionally limits coins you earn. BUYERS BEWARE I’ve noticed after some games that the coins earned after a match either don’t tally up properly or don’t appear in the bank at all. This is most likely an intentional glitch by the developers to try earn more money from the gamers as you have the option to buy coins as an in-app purchase. I know for sure now I’m not spending any money on this game.

Enjoyable. Very fun and enjoyable game with no ads. The only reason I’m not rating it higher is because you have to pay to unlock the full game.

Great but could be better. Loved Retro Bowl and this is fantastic. I like the options at the moment, but still in development. Having to pay real money for top players I don’t like and controls could be better me changing direction it makes me think I’ve double tapped and wanted to sprint, but it’s good fun. I hope it gets better!

Pretty fun. Confusing at first but after a while pretty fun and satisfying to level up. Dislike the pay wall though

Needs some diverse gameplay and controls. Please add shooting techniques and passing techniques to separate them both it will add a little more depth to the gameplay, really did enjoy this game been playing for 2+ years and even bought the different weather conditions thing, but after a while I feel there could be more gameplay changes other than just new teams and details. Thank you!

I hate the “chance missed “thing. I love the game but the chance missed is terrible and needs to be fixed. I prefer full field gameplay so I can defend instead of AI

Fun and addicting game. Excellent game! I always enjoy hopping on Retro Goal for some FIFA-styled action. Though the $2 paywall was difficult at first to spend my money on, I am glad I did

Good ish game. It looks like a really good game but wether it’s my iPhone 6 or some settings I just can’t open it it kicks me out almost strait away.

Fun. Such a fun game to play, I came from retro bowl to this and it’s amazing, goalkeepers are to overpowered though

Love it! New star killing it again. Retro bowl was so much fun now retro goal is just as fun. Keep it up. Retro hoops next please?

D. You should make more realistic rating of teams like Madrid when you move to them

Why do I have to pay for such a great game?. The game and it’s fundamentals are really fun and strategic, it’s something I enjoy very much. Why do I only get 11 games before I have to pay though? Retro Bowl was free all the way through and that’s a very similar game. Anyway, really fun game. Give it a go.

Great game. Would recommend

Perfect I need more. Say no more. Play it atleast

Could be better. Its a very inviting game into the world of retro soccer. However, I find it annoying to continue your career via purchasing. I only recently downloaded this game but it’s sad to see it stop already. I’m not sure if there is another way of playing this game. Apart from that; it’s a very addictive, enjoyable game.

Great game. Loving this so far, it’s a great game for football nerds!

Great time. Got playing this after retro bowl and it’s incredible

Bought Unlimited Version Don’t have it. I got retro goal first tried it out liked the game bought unlimited version and now got a new phone same Apple account same email same everything but phone now I do not unlimited version and asks me to buy it again

Easy to play. Great game and addictive but it just seems to easy. I came 2nd in my 1st season with derby and I didn’t sign any players or coaches. Needs to be a little more in depth, like a loan list for players, contract negotiations and the ability to sign free players. But overall a decent game 👍

Great game. Was hard at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s really fun to play

These retro games are great. I’m loving retro bowl and am just starting to play retro soccer and would love it even more if you made an Australian rule football retro game.. idk just think that would be great

Great game but could be improved. Overall this is a very good game and is very fun, but could be improved to make it even better. I found that the morale system is a bit broken, if you are winning most of your games your morale will be pretty much always 100 and if you are losing a lot of games your morale will always be really low, for me I had a few bad seasons and after that it was really hard to get morale above 10% even though I was winning pretty much every game, which results in a ton of red cards which is really annoying. Morale should be more balanced. The opponent also shouldn’t be able to score 2 goals back to back without getting the ball once. It seems like the way the money system works that if you are losing a lot of games then you won’t get much money an you’ll keep getting worse. There’s pretty much no point playing on that difficulty if you are losing more games than winning. However other than this it is a very good game and I would recommend.

If you loved retro bowl. If you loved retro bowl you’ll love this game regardless of whether you’re a soccer/football fan or not!

It’s a good game. It is fun but I don’t like how you have to buy the full version.

Best game. I would spend a lot of money on this this is amazjng

Very good. Very addictive but the swiping controls can be a bit annoying

Heaps of fun. This game is heaps of fun and takes me back to the computer version I played as a kid.

Decent. I think it’s a fun game and good to play when you’re bored but I don’t know why they make you pay to play the whole thing

Very good. Very well made game, having heaps of fun

Fun. Incredibly good time waster could play for hours!

Great game but contract length/extension are too short!. The game is very good and very fun. Has great gameplay and truly makes you so involved. However, I noticed that contract lengths are a lie in this game. I had a player with 3 years on his contract but next season he only had a few weeks left. So the developers have either overlooked this or trying to milk us for money. I hope they fix this issue, so that we know how long the contracts are extended for.

Way to addictive!. Once you master the controls this is great fun

Good, But could be better. I love Retro Bowl and was playing it form the begging, Retro Goal is no different the game is as fun and addictive but it needs some tweaks. The game is great but the controls need some work, moving gets annoying as sometimes I will swipe quickly to change direction and it will think I double tapped forcing my player to shoot. The game is great and worth $1.49 but controls are lacking.

Money grab. You can’t go past week 7 without paying

Cool game. Only disappointing thing is even in full game play you can buy ‘star bux’

Amazing game. Love this game, so addictive and interesting. Only downfall is that you have to pay 1.99$ to be able to play past week 14

Easy to learn and very addictive!!. Love the retro graphics as well!

Good Game, a couple of suggestions.. I have yet to play too long and already, this game is one of the best games I have played in a while on mobile. It’s easy to learn and fun once you get used to it. A peeve of mine though is that some basic features are locked behind a paywall, it is annoying but regardless Medium difficult is still fun. I do feel some things could be added to improve the game’s content however. I recommend explaining what Traits are to the normal player. The Information button on the are only displays the information I already know, some are self explanatory but traits like “Red Mist” are very vague. I feel like consequences for decisions you make at the end of a round would be a good addition to the game. Take for example if you lose the match and a player is seen as playing poor, if you continuously defend them they could potentially grow to be worse due to lack of criticism. However if you do the opposite their moral will become so low that they might have the ability to break the contract or get more yellow and red cards. If you don’t address the fans at all if you win you may begin losing them for example. Or if you continuously refuse talking to the Chairman he will eventually do something about it. Just an idea of course. While this is more of a “It would be cool if…” than a you should. I think some customisability would be cool. Take for example being able to change the colour of the menu screen or being able to change the team member’s name.

Time filler. It a fantastic game all round just love it

Great game 👍. If you like Retro bowl this game won’t disappoint. So many unique controls that are great but not a necessity to win. I think the system this game takes on when not playing football but just managing the is far superior to retro bowl, although some may prefer the simplicity. Overall very addictive game that you can relax and play for fun or take advantage of variety of choices to make. Test it out and if you like it totally worth a mere 2 bucks. Now give me my 250 starbux

Fun but. I paid for the unlimited version but it won’t let me play past 10 games and keeps telling me to pay for the unlimited version but I already paid for it

Great game. Very fun game. Worth the download and the upgrade

Retro games rule. Great game, was a fan of retro bowl but I think I enjoy this more than that

Good game but still needs improvement. This game is great, many fun aspects and is really easy to learn. Retro Goal definitely has the potential to be a good game. Firstly, try not to add to much, many games in the industry start off good but the developers add to much which can make the game more annoying and more confusing. Just keep things simple. Secondly, the money system is not great, many good 4/5 star players are quite expensive. They’re contract usually lasts for about a year (if your not paying for better players) and that can mean that you will not have enough money to sign them again. Finally, include dynamic difficulty that can adjust to how your playing. This would be great because easy is to easy and hard is to hard. Medium is alright, but with the money system it could be improved. Overall, the game is really good but these small improvements could really boost its popularity, and make it a more enjoyable experience.

Not bad. It’s a good game, I’m just not a fan that you have to pay money to continue the main career mode.

Extremely affordable fun. For those saying it’s not really free, you’re right. You can try it out free for a while and then choose to buy it or not for less than the price of a chocolate bar. There are times within the game when you run out of money to keep your best players without spending some real cash, but that just encourages you to keep developing players to replace them which is half the fun and the challenge of the gameplay loop. This, and Retro Bowl, are total winners and lots of fun at a fraction of what quality entertainment usually costs. Can’t wait for the next sport you guys intend to conquer.

Gamr to easy. Too easy

You have to keep spending money if you wanna play. The game itself is fun to play. The problem is that you need to buy extra credit if you want to keep the players as you are always running too low in money. By the end of the season you have to renew the contracts and you never have enough money so or you buy credit or you have to start all over again because the good players leave. Too bad. I deleted the app

Needs controller support. It would be awesome if you could tell me if thats ever coming looks like a great game otherwise

Worth It. Worth the $1.50. Only thing I can suggest is adding more countries or maybe a World Cup To the career mode.

WHY PAY TO COUNTINE. I HATE THiS GAME BECAUSE PAY TO CONTINUE YOU CAN NOT BLOCK OR RUN AND ALSO THIS IS SO STIPUD GAME BECAUSE YOU DONT EVEN GET ENOUGH CHANCES TO EVEN DRAW

Stupid. Stupid to pay to play no need for it would get more players if not have

Great. great

Dumb. Why do u have to pay even it’s kinda stupid

I can’t play it anymore. It is a good game that I enjoy very much. But after I played for 3 seasons. I’m not able to enter the app. It would be five stars if it wasn’t for that.

steep learning curve, charming game. there’s quite a steep learning curve in this game meaning you will get frustrated trying to do anything during your first few hours of gameplay. however, it’s worth staying with it, i feel, as it’s quite a charming game, very reminiscent of 90s association football games. i don’t feel it’s quite as well executed as retro bowl & rbc but it’s a great stylistic companion. also, once you get the hang of it, in-app purchases (outside of purchasing the full game) aren’t necessary to succeed. definitely recommend

Good gameplay, developer too greedy.. Great mechanics but, unlike Retro Bowl, this game does not allow you to use in game currency to advance enough players to reasonably play. No bloody way I’m spending 3 bucks every time I want a decent player. Ya go too greedy boys and girls, had you followed the Retro Bowl template you probably would make more $$$ of this game. But who knows, maybe’s there are enuff suckers out there

Pay to play. I would rate this game 5 stars except for 1 reason and it’s a big one. You must pay to play. At first you might disagree but after the preseason or whatever you have to Ay to finish the season! If I remember correctly you have to buy better players too! Would suggest retro bowl instead of this one.

Great game!. Not even a soccer fan but decided to give it a shot after Retro Bowl. Love it!

Fun Game. Would have rated higher but updates keep wiping out my leagues so I have to start over.

Amazing game. I love this game and Retro Bowl. The concept of it is amazing and addicting. I bought the premium purchases on both games I just wished that Retro Goal would allow us to edit the players name and appearances etc etc. Also being able to sim games would be an absolute perfect game. Props to Retro Bowl having those attributes. Both lovely games

Needs a update. The game very amazing 👍👍🏻 but you guys need to add a custom teams set where you can edit teams and make your own like retro bowl ok hope you get it

Good. It’s fun and a great time passer but it’s annoying to have to pay to continue

you need to make more games of different sports like baseball. love the games this guy makes

Fun. Fun game brings back memories fun mechanics

Pay to Continue. I have nothing against paid games but after playing for 30 minutes it told me to pay to continue, if you’re advertising a game as free and then making it so you have to pay to continue playing its just scummy, if you were to place the same price tag on the game alone I would have bought it. Do better.

Fix headers. I don’t know how many games I lost cause the headers don’t go the direction I swipe and after the enemy team scores they get the ball back and score again I was up 3-0 the game ended in a tie cause of that

Great game but its missing something. Would love to see national teams and the world cup. Also i wish switching teams didnt give you a bad team and you actually didnt start with bad players

Opponents impossible to beat. I am scoring my every opportunity and then I lose the game because it just gives them 2 goals in a row because they are a “good team” honestly pisses me off

Trasshh 😂. Game is trash dont play it. Full of cheap moments I lost a cup because of the bot didnt miss pens also made it so I lost the league with cheap games

Dont waste your time. You get to win your first few games and then unless you start paying for points the opponent scores 3-4 goals each game against you it’s completely unfair more scripted than fifa

Great. the game is very good and it’s because i’m so into Pixel games so i saw this game and it’s so fun but after 3 season of playing It stop letting me in the game by i think that as nothing do to with the game probably my phone or something but really a good game it says that it’s 10 matches free but i had more then 10 matches so i mean it was fun still while it lasted

Great game with some issues. (Note this is on version 1.0.0) The game is great in my opinion, it’s pretty polished and I’ve not found a bug or glitch so far, the mechanics are simple and pretty easy to understand. However, there are some issues with the game, such as prices of players, on average, I made about like 80 but a game the first season,p enough to buy and retain players and get promoted from champ to prem the next season, a play that would’ve costed 360 bux was 800, it’s annoying and is quite unrealistic. But overall a great game

Amazing Game. I played Retro Bowl which is one of my favourite games, so I am not sure how this would stack up to it. I like it a lot, however not as much as Retro Bowl, not sure how much I like paying real dollars for great players. Other than that the game is 5/5 thus far.

Two thumbs up. This is a top notch game, which is well worth the dollar or two it costs to upgrade to the full version. I have been a big fan of Retro Bowl, and this game is a great crossover to soccer. Thank you for your hard work, your games are extremely enjoyable to play. (Please do hockey next! 😁)

CAREER MODE 🙏. You can play as a normal player since that is already east to code. So basically you could choose a youth team to play for and you play one season in your youth team then you get contract options from teams based on how well you played in the youth team (Obviously this could be difficult to code so you could just make a normal team choosing system this is just a suggestion that I personally would really like) Then you could get trade, have scandals, choices just like you do in normal career mode (another suggestion that’s not needed) Although you probably wouldn’t see this I think this would be an amazing thing to add and could make you company benefit

I can’t find anything wrong with it. Perfect game

Premium feature needs more. I also have Retro Bowl Id like to see a sim game option Players take too long to improve even with maxed out training facilities Transfer list has the same players that are generally old and barely 3stars Having to pay for the best player is bad

Bad. The game feels like it was developed by a third grade classroom. Controls are awful, confusing and inconsistent. Sometimes when you pull back it winds up for a shot, but other times your player fully turns around, great when it happens right in front of the net.

Solid. Maybe not as good as retro bowl, but still really fun.

Please make a cricket game like this. Hello. Please make a cricket game! Your interface would be absolutely perfect for a cricket version of the game. It would be massively popular I’m sure

Please add editor mode !. Love the game so far, payed the premium and expected to be able to edit the players name at least (like in Retro Bowl) :( Would be really appreciate to be able to edit more stuff because I’d really like the game to be more immersive and customizable ! Overall great game !

Pay to play. I love many of the mechanics of this simple game, but others feel very artificial and constrained. The economy of buying/selling and upgrading is busted—players who improve are nearly impossible to resign, and it is bizarre that you keep the currency even when you move to a bigger club. I improved a defender a lot over the first year of the game and had to sell a second player at the start of the next season to afford to retain him. But somehow the contract (nearly 600 of the in-game currency) was for only two or three games? I didn’t notice until it was time to renew him again, this time for $800, which I had not expected and could not afford. To put that in perspective, that’s most of the way to what you get from a three dollar purchase. I have the no ads version, and I even paid for more of the currency once, expecting it to go a bit further. But no more. I feel like my enjoyment is being held at ransom

Great fun.. Interesting onfield play combined with light managerial gameplay, and great retro vibes. Just what anyone who wants to stay away from the FUT environment needs.

Poop. It makes you pay for it after awhile other than that it’s great

great game but. Include china and chinese players in tleagues and global champions

Good game but with limitation if you don’t pay. I really enjoy the game and I recommend. You cannot change level or get better in the game if you don’t pay. I have several apps I paid just because I evaluated that it would be fair. But this one I will not pay due to this limitations. In my opinion there are better ways to ask for money, such as limiting the teams you can select. Not limiting playability. Anyway, good game though.

Awesome game!. Simple and fun. Love the game!

MAKE MORE!!!. Make another retro game. I bought both games and there are a blast.

Bug still unfixed. Have won the league and continental cups multiple times. Still no recognition of any wins. Season just ends after the last cup game.

Super fun. Great little soccer style game.

Bad controls. Games controls are so bad it’s not worth playing

Teo. You guys make the best games. The soccer is even more enjoyable than the football. Please do hockey I need it. I would play nonstop

Nono4774938. Why can’t I choose which players take corners, and penalty kicks? So annoying fix this please

Not worth it. Game itself is ok frustrating with a ton of red cards and the opponents banging in 2 goals at a time. Add to that you basically can’t build a good team because you never have enough credits. They want you to buy a bunch to have any chance at success. Don’t waste your time and money.

I love the game. But…. I have been playing this game since it came out before it ever became as popular as it is now. I remember when it had only a few hundred reviews… but the features present aren’t what they should be with the massive growth you have had. I wish I could see new types of plays and being able to play defense or even online through Bluetooth! These are features that would totally get this game to the million + review mark and it would make a lifetime player so happy to see it.

Great game. Not as in-app purchase heavy as some think.. Another long time retro bowler here. The game is terrific. There are some missing components when it comes to champions league play in European competitions but the fact that the game even goes down a tier in all major leagues is awesome. In the early stages of the game, I thought the game was in-app purchase heavy compared to retro bowl. I was wrong. Once you realize you need to grind a tiny bit and prioritize upgrading your 3 facilities (stadium, training and youth), that’s when you become sustainable over the long term. I built my original team to a powerhouse before saving up 5k+ coins and ultimately moving to my favorite team. Saving the coins is crucial as you’re more than likely starting out in the top flight of your league with a poor team (vs. when you started in the lower flight and poor team) and you need coins to help out again in the beginning. Great job, guys!

Amazing game!. On hard mode this game is the perfect challenge for me. The AI is still a little goofy at times, but it doesn’t detract from the game. There is only one thing I don’t like about the gameplay and that is when you’re up and the team scores back-to-back goals and you don’t get another chance on offense before the final whistle. This rarely happens though. Overall I would like to see the same customization you get in Retro Bowl (change uniform colors and names) and even though it’s not realistic I would love to see promotion/relegation between USL and MLS. Keep it up, this game is really fun!

Suggestions. It’s a good game but I feel like it’s a bit bare… there’s only a certain amount of things you can do outside of games. It would be better if there was more to do as like a manager such as buying players off other teams and not just free agents. Change the look of stadiums, pitch, ball, etc. for example, when you upgrade the stadium, you unlock new balls and pitches meanwhile the visual stadium in game changes and is better quality. Lastly, having tournaments to register for in the begging of the season might be fun and a way to earn extra money. If these things are added then this game would be so much better.

Some notes. Some notes on the mechanics of play. 1. The autoselecting of the player closest to the ball needs work. 2. Strikers should not be able to clear the ball. If I double tap the screen to shoot but my striker is facing the wrong way, he should automatically turn around and shoot the ball not launch it to the other team. 3. Speed and Dribbling stats don’t translate well on the field. Midfielders with high speed only run fast on the ball when you push the ball ahead of yourself. Same players don’t seem to catch up quickly off the ball nor are they fast when dribbling the ball closely. Dribbling should be more for how easy defenders can strip the ball and speed should be more universal. 4. I’m still unsure what qualifies the end of my possession. There are times when I have no chance of recovering the ball but other times when its not even on the back half of the field and I’m a slide away from getting it back. Sometimes I feel my turn is ended prematurely Game is a ton of fun so far. Just some ideas.

Major potential. This game is ALMOST everything a mobile game should be. Fun, quick fun, but with a pretty good campaign for replay value. The offensive mechanics are really good and easy to learn. I do wish there was a defensive option but that doesn’t follow the retro game format so that’s fine. I do think the currency system in this game, as compared to retro bowl, is more punishing and somewhat feels like you really need to shell out some money to build a stocky team. Perhaps make the credits less valuable? Despite this, I believe this game as potential to be one of the best mobile games on the market. Would recommend

Great Game but not as good as Retro Bowl. Seeing (as writing this) there is room to make this a better game and I still like it but I like Retro Bowl way better. Still fun to pass the time but just a few problems. 1. If your playing on a phone and you player is at the top the the screen it can be really hard to pass it to the bottom. 2. The controls can be a bit complicated at times. And yes, of course soccer is not as complicated as football yet still I feel they can make it easier to control. Yet still if your wondering to check this out I would you’ll get almost as much fun as Retro Bowl and is overall a great game.

Great game but only one complaint. I am having fun with the game and it’s great overall. My only complaint is how short and expensive the contracts for players are. Almost every week I have to worry about a player leaving and I have to pay them all my money and just pray that I’ll get money. It’s not like real soccer at all when it comes to contracts. I wish I would only have to worry once every couple seasons about the contracts instead of every year. I always start off having to pay my players a lot of money and lose some and be very mediocre then do good enough to qualify for champions league at the end and be excited for the new season just to be broke and be stuck in the cycle

Great game, needs some work. When I first downloaded this game I had a pretty good understanding of what it would be, because I downloaded Retro Bowl first. The graphics are very good, and they match the style of a retro video game. Good controls, pretty easy to understand and they don’t take so long to get the hand of. One thing I dislike is the fact that you cannot customize the players like in Retro Bowl. In Retro Bowl you were able to change the players jerseys, and even their name, but in Retro Goal it seems like you can’t do that. It would be a fun things to add just to make it a bit more fun, and a bit more entertaining too. Finally, I think the referees give WAY too many cards. Like one time I got 2 red cards in 4 minutes, don’t you think that is a little bit rough? I understand that there needs to be red and yellow cards to make the game more entertaining, but it would be nice for my players not to get 4 yellow cards in 3 minutes. Other than that, good game! Keep up the great work!

Add sim and better youth academy.. So I am totally addicted to this game, I have both retro bowl, and goal. However their is no sim. Why not, the season is longer than the retro bowl season. However the games in this are shorter. But adding the ability to sim games is just a quality of life improvement. Their are many other things, such as can you make the youth academy be useful rather than a annoying notification that gives you players to sell or release. A Maxed out youth academy should make quality players, and make it go faster. Other than that, I do love the game.

More leagues + gameplay please!. I enjoy this game a lot. It’s very repetitive, but that does not bother me. However I wish two things could be added: -More control over passing (perhaps, similar to Retro Bowl, you could tap the line as you’re passing and it would switch the type you’re going for {ground, lofted, driven shot, etc) -More leagues! Personally I think more American teams could be added like Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina or Chile. It would also be cool if National Teams were added, but that is a large task. Also, you should probably make goalkeepers a little better. Some added customization (players, teams) would be nice as well.

Big potential, terrible controls. This game has a lot of potential. It really improves on the team management aspects of retro bowl but loses out with unwieldy and frustrating controls. For such a key part of the game, passing is overly difficult. The mechanic makes short passes impossible, while the header mechanic on longer passes means its often impossible to place the pass correctly without accidentally putting it at header height, which rather than giving you the option to trap the ball forces you to immediately head it off out of reach. In the brief stints where you are still controlling the game but not in possession of the ball slide tackling is often the only way to have your players attempt to regain possession. But the slide tackling mechanic often refuses to trigger even when a player is in range, and occasionally causes an out of range player to dive to the ground for no reason instead of the one you had intended. Fixing the AI for defensive players and giving the option to trap head height balls would go a long way to making this game more enjoyable than enraging

Great balance of in app purchases. When starting out I was expecting to have to pay a lot of money just to enjoy the game and I was wrong. The small fee to unlock the full game didn’t bother me at all but I was expecting to pay loads of money after that. Many games like this make you pay tons of money just to have fun and this is no where near that. I’ve been playing for a couple months and have only spent five dollars. I see no reason to stop playing the game and no reason to spend more money on it either.

Disappointing. Maybe it’s because I don’t play soccer or what but this game is heavily stacked against the player almost no time to get rid of the ball to another NCP or shoot a goal. Thank you for the free trial thought to realize that I don’t want to spend a single penny on this game . Not sure if these are the same creators of retro bowl but that game is awesome this game must be new so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and give it 2 stars. Open to changing my opinion in the future if things changed. Even with the tutorial people who don’t know soccer (like me) can still find the game confusing. Maybe find something to help the gamer a little more. Then in my opinion the game will flourish to outside just people interested in soccer.

Disappointing. I thought this game would be really fun but it turn out to be terrible, honestly either its a slide tackle fest or you barely get chances at all I literally got two chances per game to score while the other team starts off with 2 goals easily, it’s annoying when it seem every player on the other team is stupidly faster while my players can barely run. I know it’s a road to glory thing but still every team I face is either 3 or 4 stars higher than mines and then we I do face someone with the same level it’s like they just as fast and better as the 3 and 4 stars teams it makes no sense. Maybe add more tiers to the leagues like in england there’s 4 so it’s not you get a one star team while everyone else is 3 or 4 stars cause it just makes it unfair and unfun to play

Great Game, One Annoying Bug. I’ve been a big fan of Retro Bowl so I was really excited for this one when I found it. It is a great game, lots of fun and a good extension of the same game mechanics. It does have more micro transactions if you wanted to use them, but really does not hold you back at all if you don’t. One really annoying bug I found, once a player has 10 yellow cards for the season, they will be suspended for a game, which is great. However, after serving their suspension they come back for a game, then are immediately suspended again, even if they did not get another card that game. Clearly a small glitch which I hope is easy to remedy because it is annoying.

Fun, but strategy is thrown out the window. Fun game, and personally I disagree with the people complaining about monetization- it’s easy to build your roster and club provided the contract lengths/other in-game purchases without spending for additional bucks. However, the fact that defense is unplayable leaves a massive issue imo. It feels like the enemy AI is more concerned with just launching the ball to half-field every time they steal the ball away. As soon as the ball crosses, or some time after when possession is not immediate, the game basically pauses and says “Ok AI now has a turn to take free shots/possession on your goal” That concept worked fine in Retro Bowl, but not in soccer, where the gameplay is still going on during the moment of possession change. The AI shouldn’t be allowed to just punt the ball to an empty field, or launch it straight to my goalie with no one even on that half of the field without letting me play it out. I assume it’s because the enemy AI has no actual shooting mechanic- but there should be a requirement that the enemy touch and have control of the ball in my half of the field before the forced possession change.

Bad game!. Horrible way of play, same thing for retro bowl. The only way you can have fun is by buying the stupid VIP. Otherwise, your opponents, even though they are bots, get so many more chances to score than you do, which really doesn’t help when you’ve recruited a toxic player. Also, it’s insanely stupid how the second the ball tips the halfway line, you lose the ball. This make absolutely no sense. Also could you please fix where I’m trying to make a pass to the offense, they decide to let the ball bounce over their heads. Not only is the game extremely frustrating to play, but you could just hit the ball from the halfway line and wait for it to bounce in the other teams net. Absolutely boring, and when I want to play a soccer game that isn’t as intense as fifa, it really pisses me off when I get even more frustrated when the game doesn’t work as it is advertised.

Great gameplay, but terrible setup. I love retro bowl. It’s my favorite game. So I downloaded this. After playing it for a couple hours, my thoughts are that it has potential, but it needs a major rework. The game itself is fun, playing soccer, but everything else just isn’t as good. New Star Games, I hope you fix these things, because I really want to like this game. -free agents now cost real money. That’s not as good. People don’t like having to constantly spend money. -the game is unnecessarily complicated, with the addition of tactics and formations. -you can’t play for infinite time. They force you to buy the unlimited. I’m aware that the company has to make money. But retro bowl made people buy the unlimited a different way, by making them fall in love with the game rather than forcing it upon them after ten games. These are just a few problems. There may be more, I’ve only played a few hours. But because it is so pay to win, the game is different from everything that made retro bowl a cult following among players. I really hope they fix this. I see lots of potential. PS. New Star, if you see this, keep updating both this and retro bowl. Please.

Fun but why?. This game is extremely fun and I play it a lot however I do have some issues the game says you can only play 10 rounds for free and then you must pay for the full version I feel like we should have the full game for free instead of having to pay money to get the full version a lot of Gabes give you the full version for free however this one does not and you have to pay most likely a whole dollar to continue playing the game maybe even more than a dollar maybe I’m over exaggerating But I want to see the full version without having to pay still is a really fun game and I would recommend

It’s mid. The reason why retro goal is mid because once you are playing the game against progressively more and more annoying let me Give you an example I’ve lost money games because I am bad but that’s not the thing one time I was about to win a game last second I was about to do a free kick boom it sent me a message I didn’t get the chance to read it and I clicked OK on accident and then it kicked me out of the game I had like five goals and they had one it was very frustrating and also it just kicks you out of the game those are my thoughts I have no hard relationships with this game I think it’s good but you know what it just needs some work on the game like the physics aren’t making any sense

Best ‘Sequel’ Ever. There are so many good things about this game like it has the same idea as Retro Bowl, within itself was an amazing game, in many ways. I thought it would be like a simple pass and dodge game but there is way more like you head, run, stop running, aim your kick and other features. Glad you kept the moral and condition for the players which I loved from Retro Bowl and thought it was amazing. There might be some people who might be mad it is in some ways similar to Retro Bowl, I love how you kept the similarities in many ways. What an amazing ‘sequel’!!!

Why do we have to pay. I loved retro bowl, and thought retro goal would exceed my expectations. But it really let me down, first off my biggest critique is that after the 10 free games it makes you pay to play unlimited games. I played with a bad team and sloppy mechanics for the first 10 games and although it was fun, it is not worth paying to play unlimited. The whole game seems only to be fun if you pay, and that’s just not right. Retro bowl is 10 times better and it’s free, me and friends have agreed retro goal is not a good step in the right direction, and I really hope new star games doesn’t start putting money and greed over quality and care to its customers. New star games it’s really disappointing to see this.

A great follow up to Retro Bowl. I played through 40+ seasons of Retro Bowl. I had high hopes for this follow up and am not disappointed. I love how there is a defensive angle in this game and the newspaper headlines are cool. The gameplay is intuitive, but not overly simplified. The UI is nice, as are the retro graphics. Only two recommendations: 1) Ease up on the costs. I liked the credit system in RB. I get the need to make money, but I’d rather shell out ten or even twenty bucks up front for a game with this much replay value and pure enjoyment, and have it be more even-handed. 2) More team customization. I loved having the option in RB to set the cities up to how you wanted. I’m a huge dork and changed all the cities to smaller towns in my state; it gave a sense of connection that a lot of folks don’t have who live outside of major markets. It’s a small thing, but it made it much more relatable to me. Anyway, great game. With a few tweaks, this could easily become better than RB.

Great potential - controls could improve. I love the game concept, gameplay and execution. I loved retro bowl as well but there is one thing thatccould make this game great: improved controls. The swiping concept is great and I would change that, but it makes it impossible to make short passes or quick touch pass decisions. The dribbling direction concept gets muddled with passing and ends up frustrating the player. If you simply had the left side of the screen be a floating joystick and then the right hand side be the swipe to kick concept, then game play, short quick passing, and dribbling would be greatly improved. I like this game but I really want to love it if the controls improve slightly. Even if you allowed an alternative control set up I would love it.

Addictive. I’ve been playing RetroBowl for sometime and love it. I’m not a soccer fan, but always enjoyed playing it, so this game captures some of the joy of the game. It’s fun to build your team up from scratch and to manage contracts to keep a solid squad. Things that could improve would be allowing me to edit team uniforms and names along with player names like in RetroBowl. Editing the uniforms and team names is probably my favorite feature. I made a college and NBA league. I would probably do the same in RetroGoal if possible along with a Mexican league. As far as game play goes, it is a lot of fun but I find it very difficult to score a goal from the top of the screen vs the bottom.

Amazing game, not pay to play!. I read a review that said that this game in essence was a pay to play game. In my experience, it is not. There are special players that cost money but you can buy players at that level with the in game currency. The currency is relatively easy to get and once you have a good team, you will never have a problem getting more. It might take a season to get enough currency to sign good players but the more games you win the more currency you get so eventually it won’t be an issue at all. Wonderful game and I highly recommend it!

Good game, but gets boring. Pretty much the title. The game is fun for a while but eventually it does get boring. The AI becomes really predictable and it becomes the same few movements and shooting patterns to score 10 goals a game. Another issue I have is that whenever you move to a new club, all of that team’s upgrades are reset. Doesn’t make sense to move from a Championship team where I spent 10 years developing their youth academy to Real Madrid, which magically has 1 development in each category. I understand this is to make the game more grind-ey, but it provides 0 incentive to move clubs other than to play in a different league or continental/regional competition. I’ll definitely come back if some changes are made to these complaints. Otherwise, I’m staying away for now.

Overall design of game is hard to look at. I’m honestly shocked that this is made by the same developers who created my favorite IPhone game of all time - Retro Bowl. While Retro Bowl has great gameplay, is super clean and way to look at, Retro Goal has images moving in the background of the Home Screen, each screen is way too cluttered and confusing, and they tried to include way too much detail which makes it look all messy. I’m giving the game 3 stars because the gameplay actually seemed really nice, but I couldn’t get through 3 matches without getting a headache. Please redesign the simple aspects of the game and I’ll try this again

It’s coming home… well, to mobile at least.. The Retro Bowl community (shouts to RBCDL) got me through the pandemic, so as an avid soccer fan I was excited for RETRO GOAL. Outside of a few early bugs, it’s the right balance of being a GM but not full blown FM. Gameplay is simple and easy to pick up. The opportunity to test it for 10 games is great (paid my 99¢ after gm 1!). Even though there are options to pay for star players, it’s not required to be successful and enjoy this game. I look forward to seeing updates from Simon and the NSG team, especially a “reset” screen to launch some competitive play!

Better than Retro Bowl. I love the game, but have a suggestion. I think they should add international games Like the World Cup and euro cup, when you’re an established manager it would be fun if you were picked as your countries coach and you can pick your own players from the country you would be representing and play in tournaments that occur every 4 years just like in real life. I feel the international scene is very big in football so it would be a great addition. I think it could be like a dlc add on that you can pay a small fee for, because that would add so many new possibilities.

Decent start but this has Retro Bowl potential. You don’t get very far without buying the 99 cent premium version. In my knowledge the only thing this premium gives you is the right to play more than 10 games. Absolutely no player or team customization yet and there are only 2 leagues: The premier league and the championship. The 10 game paywall is ridiculous and not something I expected to see at launch (does not exist in Retro Bowl). The gameplay is very fun but I’ve forgotten how to dribble already and I have to pass a bunch in order to score. Long shots at the top of the box are overpowered. It seems a bit too easy to get the ball back as soon as the defense recovers it. You’ll swarm their defenders until eventually you get the ball. Lastly, the goalie will come out of the goal in ways that make absolutely no sense and you can get an easy goal. Also the game will offer you to loan several players out and after 5 weeks you can buy them for a really cheap price. Great way to build your team early. At the end of the day I hope I get a bit more from the premium version than unlimited games, which we already get for free in Retro Bowl.

Better than I thought. I’ve had Retro Bowl since it came out. So I’ve seen the ups and downs with the game. This one has its flaws. First the player controlling is a bit janky but it still works. Plus there isn’t any team customization. Which I’m sure will come soon and once it does I’ll edit this. Now to the pros. The game has like a million teams. So there’s an infinite amount of teams and story lines you can play. The game has a really great 8-bit style. It also has pretty good mechanics plus an auto shoot if you really need it. I’ll edit this game once the next updates roll through

Players don’t behave normally. It’s pretty good overall, but the players just seem “allergic” to the ball and will just run away from it sometimes, or when the ball gets passes to them when an opponent is near they never get it and end up running away. But when you try to score a goal sometimes they think you are trying to pass it to them and they’ll end up blocking the shot. Also it’s super frustrating when the opponent clears the ball past midfield and it land on your teams player and it says “chance missed” even though you still have the ball. And lastly there are games where you could be up 2-0 and then you won’t get the ball back and lose 2-3 at the end because the kickoffs don’t make any sense.

Amazing!. Retro goal has been amazing so far with the World Cup mode but only in unlimited and this is one problem because just to turn on weather and change difficulty’s you have to buy the unlimited version but other then that I love the idea of transferring players and drafting players kind of like FIFA career mode. but overall amazing game recommend it to a lot of people. But one small issue Blackpool has been removed from the game and that is the team I support I would love if you could add them back.

Great game so far, but heavy cash grab. I love the game and have loved this companies approach to retro gaming. I am a bit disappointed with the amount of money they attempt to get out of players. Of course, everything in this world revolves around money, and if anyone deserves it for well developed games it’s this company, but if I pay to play initially, I would like to the developers to be a bit more reasonable in their approach to in game content. 2.99 for a player that lasts only a few seasons seems to me to be boarder-line crotchety. As someone who has put in a few hours and enjoyed the game, this is a massive turn off to me, and sadly may become the reason this game gets lost to the world of unwanted apps in a library full of unwanted apps.

Fun to play except…. This game is great overall but the overall motive for making it seems more greedier than retro bowl. You have to spend a lot money and the costs for upgrading things in the front office seem high. The costs of players as well seem much higher than in retro bowl and I’m not just referring to the actual price. Proportionately the prices seem unreasonably higher. It’s really fun to play but it makes no sense that you are practically punished for leaving your team to go to an elite team. When you leave to the teams doing well the players you are handed are absolute garbage and you need to spend more just to buy new players which makes no sense because the team was already doing well.

Great! (with a few bugs). Aside from many of the other great suggestions that other reviewers have made, like customization, being able to get the best players for credits rather than real money, realistic conditions for bigger teams, and being able to start with your favorite team, I think this game is awesome and tons of fun. Better managers would be cool too. A few bugs that I’ve run into: - Sometimes a shot that hits the underside of the bar and doesn’t cross the line will automatically count as a goal kick. - Some of the achievements are bugged, primarily the winning the league/continental/cup matches ones. I have played multiple seasons but still haven’t unlocked achievements for “25 League Match Wins” and greater.

Need a refresh for players. I can refresh my coaches and can even release the coach until the random coach i get is good, but I can’t randomize the transfer list. I need to replace an old forward but the transfer list is mostly old or 2 star potential one kids. I’ve gotten 2-3 defenders that are young and had 3+ star potential, but if I continue using them for seasons will I eventually have to buy a worse defender because the store won’t refresh? Also there’s only 2 premium players for me to buy. I haven’t bought any but wanted to buy one today and then there were 2😭

Fun game But there’s a couple problems. This game is good but there’s a couple of problems in the tutorial it will teach you how to move but the game will teach you how to pass to your teammate and when I’m moving my player it sometimes passes it back to to your defense if you have the ball and you’re in Midfield but if the ball is at attack your player will pass it back to Medfield and I feel like that’s annoying it’s probably annoying to everybody when you’re about to score a goal and you’re trying to move your player closer to the goal retro Goal please fix this

Double charge. I’ve been double charged multiple times with this game. Very very very manipulative makers of this app. No matter how good you do in the game they send you down in levels so you keep spending money. I got home run after home run but get demoted every few games. So they can make you ply longer and spend waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too much money on a game. I’m 120$ in on this game cause of 3 double charges when buying coins. Guys this is a legitimate review please do not down load this app. Scammers and manipulators. You will never advance up the Mi or league levels no matter how many grand slams you hit. Wow I feel ripped off big time. I emailed support twice about the over charges and no answer at all!!!!!!??!!!! Wow keep that 30$ you scammers. I’m a good customer you guys will never make it ripping people off.

Great, but a few problems. Coming from someone who plays retro bowl, I think this is game is a huge success saying that it’s made by old school football developer. I feel like the game would be much more popular if you didn’t have to pay to keep going through the seasons. I know some of my friends that there parents won’t pay for the unlimited version, which is kinda sad. Once I realized it was money to continue the seasons, I played dream league soccer for 2 months until I was able to convince my dad.

Very Frustrating. When given the option to switch jobs at the beginning of a new season, it doesn’t make ANY sense to start from absolutely nothing. After a few years of bringing Blackpool up from the Championship to the Premier League, I was finally offered a job at PSG. When I accepted it, I saw that the team would be poor and not have good facilities, but I couldn’t have imagined having to grind up to unlock a job offer just to finally accept it, and be immediately handed the WORST ROSTER in Ligue 1. I was having a great time with the game, but now it’s like all my progress was gone because I accepted what I thought would be a good coaching job. Why even offer the option to change if you can never actually go coach a good team? None of the players on my roster can beat anyone from even the worst teams off the dribble. If you grind for years to unlock “good” job offers, they should BE GOOD, not have a maximum of 1.5 stars in any category while the rest of the league comfortably has 3 stars in all of those categories.

Pretty good but needs some tweaks. provides on almost every level that you expect it to, even if the gameplay can get a little stale. by your third season with any club you should be raising the difficulty as an 8+ speed 8+ dribbling player can run through the entire pitch. main issue is how the currency works, it seems balanced at first because it is so easy to obtain but you must use it intelligently to maintain your high level players. some players are also evaluated very oddly, a 5 star 18 year old can cost anywhere from 500 to 1200 bux, but I've seen 2 star players worth 900 bux on 1 year contracts. Overall, this game is probably worth a try.

You need to make it completely free to play. I downloaded the game not thinking it would be fun or anything, then I started playing and I started to get the hang of it and started to like and I was playing and playing, till it said I had to pay for the ultimate version to continue playing and I was completely disappointed, so I just deleted the game, you should not make a game where you have to play it l, your other game retro bowl, is amazing, I play it all the time and there is no restrictions like retro goal, you can buy the ultimate addition just for additional stuff like costum jerseys and stuff which I think is cool, all im saying is you need to make it free to play all the way and use the ultimate version for additions like retro bowl.

Retro Bowl was fun so I tried this. The economy system is better than retro bowl in some aspects, like it is easier to earn money, but then everything in-game costs a ton making it really hard to ever advance things or resign your star players. The controls also are way to complicated. They need to dial this in some more. For example, a double-tap will do a quick shot, but there is no equivalent for a quick pass which would be far more useful. They also emphasize in the tutorial that you can drag from anywhere, not just on the player but I don’t find it that intuitive when the player has a glowing halo or star around them. It just needs some work to refine.

I don’t review games or play games often, but this is a golden gem. first of all, it’s more than football as well, you choose your own team, work up to your favorite team, and manage a club whilst doing all of this. You have multiple leagues, multiple divisions of the same league, and the actual gameplay is arguably extremely well for a mobile soccer game. This game really caught me by surprise, and with the 10 free games demo I thought it would cost a lot due to its high quality, but it’s only 1$, definitely been playing this since my airplane ride and it is a must offline game

Pay to win. It is impossible to do well in this game. Barely possible to win the league. The other team just scores against you no matter what, and you don’t have a option to defend. The players contracts are almost impossible to keep up with following the small amount of in game currency they give you. Barely being able to buy new players as well. If you win games, they do give you more in game currency, however not enough for all the contracts and other building up, and it eventually leads to bankruptcy in a matter of 1 or 2 seasons. No matter what team or club you choose, it doesn’t change anything. If I move to a big club like Arsenal, wouldn’t it make sense for me to start off with at least some decent players.

Worth the 1 dollar. More like 4 and a half stars. This is more like FIFA manager mode. It’s simple but amazing for a “soccer” (I’m American) mobile game. This game is a work of art but there are quite a few very minor flaws. The game pace: the difficulties are greatly one above each. The transition from normal to hard feels like normal to intense. The game pace feels relatively slow but is very engaging still. Highly recommend this game, it’s great for when you are on an airplane when there’s no WiFi, as well as when your bored out of your mind. ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE DOLLAR WHEN THE TRIAL PERIOD ENDS.

Pretty Good Game, But A Little Annoying. This game is awesome! I love soccer, and how they made it a retro type game. However, Premium brings down a lot. The fact that you have to pay to be able to actually be able to play after 10 games. In my opinion, it is flat out dumb. It basically makes the game a demo. I wouldn’t be as frustrated if they made a quick match mode. But all they have is season and you don’t even get a chance to win a championship in the game without playing. I’ve played Retro Bowl, and that game is one of the best games I’ve ever played, but it doesn’t seem like it was the same company that made these two games. So please work on that, but otherwise, this game is an outstanding game.
