When it works, it’s great. For the last year, even after updates, almost 90% of the time I am “unable to connect with the back office”. Usually logging off and signing back in would fix the issue but even that doesn’t work anymore. Doesn’t matter if it’s on iPhone or ipad, something on the back end needs a lot of work.

App does not work and customer service does not respond. I get an error stating that the app cannot run because it appears my phone is rooted or jailbroken and then the app abruptly closes . I have never tamper with my phone or changed any settings and I emailed customer service with no response , not sure why others are stating great customer service because I haven’t received it . My phone is as original as the day I bought it at the app store and I’ve been waiting for this app for years and now it’s out and I can’t use it . I don’t understand how this has 5 stars … doesn’t work for me ! :(

Unnecessary and invade form of forced toll payment. Appalled at the removal of cash options via travel. I despise the forced use of non cash options for paying tolls. This leaves people extremely vulnerable to unnecessary fees and in extreme situations, legal issues if not payed. There is no option to look up tolls via license plate, so if you can’t remember specific travel date or toll fee number via mail you will be sure to face financial penalties. This is un American at its core and the state should be ashamed of its actions. If I could rate this less than one star, I absolutely would.

I've been getting so frustrated because of this app!. I deleted the app and used the website instead after getting charged 3 times in my debit card and not getting what I paid for! I had to waste at least an hour to call my bank in order to dispute those 3 charges... is impressive how an app made for an entity (NYC) goes months without updates and is sooo buggy and useless.

Delete and reinstall to fix the error message. Kept getting the same error message some people had complained about every time I got on the app. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, logged back in and it works as it is supposed to now. I’d say delete the app and reinstall it if you have the same problem.

Great APP!. I’ve been waiting for an app like this from EZ pass for a long time and believe me they did not disappoint! My only issue is that when you stay logged in for a while you’ll get a communication error that can only be fixed by logging out and in again. Otherwise I’m very happy with this app!

Problems. Had this app for a while. At first it was easy to use. As they have been working on it to accommodate the flow of everyone due to cashless tolls, the app has gotten worse. It will constantly log you out, show you your account but can access things, tell you there is an error with your log in. You have to delete the app and re download it just to log in to account to fix glitches. If that is the case then I will just use the website.

Horrible app, fix problems. Every time I go through tolls (once, maybe twice a year) i get late fees of $50 each time because the app is ALWAYS not working or won’t accept payment for whatever reason when I got to pay them and I’ll continue to try to pay it and it just won’t work. Once the late fee arrives it works just fine. And I feel like if I could just talk to someone it would be taken off for understandable reasons but New York State just wants all your money so makes it impossible to get to an actual representative and the one time I finally got through, THEIR COMPUTERS WERE DOWN!!! Like what in the actual heck is going on. I don’t go through tolls enough to prepay for an easy pass but Jesus it would still be cheaper to do that because I pay $50 late fee every time for tolls by mail.

Great timing. In NY, we eliminated toll booths basically and the whole system went automated. As a business traveler, I used to use the toll booths as cues as to when I needed to make a payment for my EZPASS, and phone it in. Now I can do it all quickly in, one stop, anywhere, anytime. I can check my balance, stops, and make a payment right on the app.

NYToll takes a toll on basic functionality. After being on the phone with customer service, this app was built 10 years ago when basic functionality wasn’t a requirement. Transfer money into your account? Hardly ever works. No warning that card transactions are offline. Causes “pending” claim on bank, but never processes it. Gotta wait 5 days to credit back. Sheesh! Website not much better.

None exist violation unable to contact. We received a toll violation letter in obvious error. The car/license plate in picture wasn’t ours. And we have paid our toll through NJ ez pass at the time. Ez pass NJ has our record, which we made a copy and send to them. So we called, the first time, was told it was an error, is fixed. But call back in three weeks, just to make sure. So we did. This time the person on the line had no idea of the suppose fix, but said again it was an error, she has made it go away. A few weeks later, received another letter, same error same charge. Called again. Same story. Fixed, don’t worry about it. We also mail them a dispute letter just in case, with all the proof that we are owner of different car, and our toll on that day was paid. Today, got another letter, weeks later, claiming if we don’t pay, will have an additional $50 charge. Finally we download this app. And it’s telling me they can’t find any violation or due. What is going on with ez pass?

One star should be 0 stars:. The worst app ever. If you need to check your account be sure this app would state ‘its back office is unreachable’. Doesn’t matter what time of day or night this app is never available. For those 4 or 5 stars that are posted might be due to when it work, which is rare, it’s pretty good in give you the info you need. But really an app that works 1:30 days isn’t worth downloading. Better off using EZpass website.

So easy! It’s about time!. It’s about time they made this app, it is so much easier to use than logging into that ancient website or having to call their customer service over the phone. In fact I wasn’t able to make a payment over the automated phone system because of some hold on my account but using the app it let me do it right away. Very convenient

Terrible app. I wish I can give no stars. This is a heavily needed app for drivers in NY. But it’s terrible. It goes down often. If you try to use a credit/debit card, it will place a hood on funds and never actually go through making you wait weeks to get the money back in your account. If you use a checking account, it will fail to pay half the time and also will continuously only let you do $100 at a time because it never recognizes your account as having been used before. What they really want apparently is you calling their call center to reload money and waiting on hood for over an hour because that’s how long it takes to speak to someone.

"Back office system is unreachable" error has rendered this app useless for months now. Tried logging into the app a few months ago to resolve some issues with my account. Got the error that wouldn't allow me to log in. After several more failed attempts I deleted the app and re downloaded to see if that would fix the problem. Didn't work so I just went through the website. Just tried again today, months after first trying, and got the same error message. This app is useless.

Glitches. Every time I would go in to make a payment, I would get an error message which meant I would have to uninstall the app and download it again. Then it would work. Also making payments, I would make a payment, get an error message, try to make another payment, get an error message again, but both times the charges would go through. The other time both charges again went through my bank but it didn’t reflect on my account! When I saw this app I said great! I can make payments easily instead of going through the website where they ask for a threshold. I rather call and stay on the phone to make the payments now instead of using this app!

Yeah, straightforward. Setting up was easy-peasy for me. Paste function for creds from 1Password worked better than with many other apps, actually, so no complaints there. Plus all the account records looked right — vehicle plates, pass tags, credit card, transactions, payment plan. Happy to have the app now.

Bad App, Sneaky Company. App hasn’t worked in weeks. I’m shocked citizens haven’t found a way to sue this company yet. The app is terrible, it works properly when it wants to. You can’t always check your balance so if you use it, you are subject to getting charged without knowing since their most effective plan is the auto refill one. It’s charged me twice before and instead of the company returning my money, they chose to keep charging me and only returned half. If any other business ran their operations the way EZ pass did, they would be shut down. This company gets way too many passes for inappropriate business practices. My best advance is pick the refill as you go because everything else is a set up to drain your account.

Finally!!!!!. It’s about time EZPass got an app...and its beautiful. Easy to use, you can see how much you owe, and the best part is...you can manually pay whatever amount you want unlike the ezpass website that only accepts the threshold amount even if you don’t plan on making that amount of trips in the upcoming month. Good job finally.

Making payment problem.. The program needs some fix. When take picture of credit card. It shows the expiration month and year but error message crops showing that expiration date should be between this year and 2055 when in the column there is correct date and year. The payment doesn’t go through

Paying using the app vs. the website. I couldn’t get into the website for payment for some reason so I got the app. Well.... it’s a little more convenient however I’m still trying to get in contact with customer service to edit my personal info as the location for my borough is currently closed. After calling and waiting (still couldn’t get through) I saw that the app enables the user to send in requests, I’ve sent multiple requests through the app for personal info to be edited and still no response.

Could be better. The app is great in the sense that it automatically handles my tolls for me, by charging my account and refilling my balance from my debit card when my balance is low. However, the apps dates are very inaccurate making it very hard to understand what dates I’m being billed for. It will have a date I didn’t leave my house and it worries me that I’m being billed for travel I didn’t make. Please update this so I know the tolls I’m being charged are for my travel dates. Thank you.

Ez pass review. I am not the one to go out of my way to write reviews. But if someone is trying to make the decision and reads this please pay attention. This is the worst customer service in the industry. They do not care about helping the customer. Once they wanted to charge my card $100 dollars because they calculated that would be my estimate toll usage. Getting this is only worth it to get the discounts in the NY toll bridges. If you do not leave in New York is way better to get a transponder from all the other companies. Trust me when I say it is absolutely not worth it. Save yourself a lot of headaches.

Server errors resulting in multiple charges. The app is amazing when it works. So far 3 instances of making payment and receiving server error message, even though my bank was still charged. After 2 or 3 tries it finally goes through but then you wait days for the money to be credited back to your account. Also, using the camera enters the date in a format that the app will not accept when trying to add a card for payment. Other than that, the convenience is amazing. I will stop using until update resolved issues. Hope to be back soon.

Trash, but what can you do?. Like most increasingly socialist governments the state of New York wants as much money as they can squeeze out of you but somehow have nothing to show for all they take. This app is no different. After spending nearly and hour trying to pay their bills, but only getting error messages, because I apparently don’t know my last name and some other 601 error, I decided to wait on the phone for about 40 more minutes so I could talk to some poor, underpaid, underdeveloped country worker. She, unprompted took of about 25% off my bill before helping me pay. New York isn’t just satisfied with talking your money every chance they get, but they also want to take your time and make even the simplest tasks nearly impossible.... but what are you going to do?

APP needs to be fixed!!!. This app needs to be fixed when submitting a payment. I made a mistake entering my cvv number and it didn’t go through (that’s fine). However, when the right amount was entered, I received NO confirmation notice that payment was received. I pressed it TWO more times thinking the payment didn’t go through. When I decided to go to the home page, it turns out that I unknowingly made 2 EXTRA payments. I called the NYEZPASS customer service and was told that they could issue me a refund but that it will be 30 days. Unbelievable. They even admitted to telling me that there was something wrong with the app and that I should call them or pay through the website. I was also told that I wasn’t the only one having problems with this app. Ugh

Password change function is horribly broken. The app was spamming me some notifications about the results of a study they were doing, so I attempted to log in. They claimed my password needed to be changed, and sent me to a password change dialog in the app. The password change dialogue wouldn’t let iCloud auto-fill the new password, and wouldn’t let me paste into the fields, so this required me to generate a password on my computer and type it in by hand on a phone keyboard twice. This took 10 minutes and in the end, my password wasn’t saved on e-zpass properly, locking me out of my account. So, I went though the reset function and typed it all in again. Now the app says that it is “currently under test and your account is not enabled”. I assume that means I’m locked out? Once again, government hires the least competent app developers available and they build an infuriating and unusable app. The website was better back in 2003 than this pile of garbage.

App has not worked in months. I downloaded the TOLLS NY app several months ago and I loved it. It was so simple to see my balance and to add money to my account. But a few months ago the system went down on the app and it still has not come back up. It says the system is unreachable and to please try again in a few minutes. I just logged out and tried to log back in to see if that will work and it still currently says unreachable. It was pointless to download it the app if there are glitches in that don’t get fixed.

Scam. This app continuously shows fake error messages each time you try to add funds. Informing me it can’t take the charge for more added funds. BUT that’s all a lie as this has been going on for years now. To stop this I’ve discontinued the AutoPay option for the Manual reload. It doesn’t matter as my card now shows 3 charges have gone through when i only wanted 1 charge AND the reflection of adding money to the EzPass shows nothing has been added currently/previously. This app and the company are all scammers and thieves

Better than the website to pay. The website will take you in ridiculous circles no matter what the technology you use. I’ve had the absolute worst luck and frustration trying to pay on the website. This application makes it simple and easy to pay. Right off an iPad or iPhone. This app takes all the frustration out of it. My advice to anybody who is reading this download the app pay through the app the website is to me useless. It has been such great frustration. Had I been the person in charge of Ux and web design I would’ve fired all the developers. Please heed this warning pay through the app forget the website.

NYC HORRIBLE APP. What you don’t know will hurt you!! Here’s the problem, the app is seriously flawed. You use your card to pay! But, the app says it cannot process your transaction. But, it manages to take four times the amount out of your account without authorization. Then you try to make a written complaint and the app shuts you out with a red highlighted message “your request cannot be processed please try again later “code5682 so you have to call in only to find the employee willfully respond “ this app is always acting up, that why we tell users to just use it to monitor, pay on line not through the app.” Then she goes on to say your refund will post 3-5 business days. Meanwhile, your out of $900 dollars that you can use for other things. It’s absolutely not fair and if we all want better service we have to all advocate for better. I’m really disappointed can I afford to wait for the refund? And not miss out on paying my bills? Because some of you can’t!!

Review. The penalty charges for toll right now is pure defrauding especially since there is no customer service to call for recourse. I have now had to pay two penalties for more than 200$ for bills and penalties that arrived the same day by mail. How is one supposed to pay a bill that arrives at the same time with the red penalty envelope??? This is a scam.

Amazing support. Can’t describe how good their support is. Had an issue for weeks and said ok let me just email them. Within seconds, not an over exaggeration, someone was helping me and for the first time didn’t start at level 1 with support, they acknowledged I knew what I was talking about and confirmed there was an issue. The FOLLOWING DAY an update was out that fixed my issue. Meanwhile they kept me updated the entire time. Great team here, just get in contact with them for any concerns and they will help.

The app really isn’t that good. There is a major flaw with this app. I’ve been on here numerous times trying to pay my tolls and it always asks you to put in a date. Not a certain month or year but a specific date of travel. Why even have that. Just make it so you put in your license plate and your tolls show up on the screen. This is so frustrating as I never remember what day I actually went through a nyc toll. Most people can’t even remember what they had for dinner two nights before forget about what specific day they went through a toll a few weeks or two months prior. P.S. Having an ex-wife that takes your mail on top of this can exacerbate the toll paying problem. But that’s a whole different subject🙃

It works. Works good for me, finally EZPASS managed to invest in an app, with all the money they get from tolls it shouldn’t be much of a burden. My only issue so far is that I can’t store credit card on my account unless I want it to be automatically replenishing my low balance. I want to be able to add money manually, but still have card on file so I don’t have to enter that information hundred times. Please fix or change that future, and I’ll change this review to 5 stars. Thank you.

Poor user interface. You get a text that says you have a toll to pay. But to find it you need to know your exact date of travel. Why can’t it just show you all the tolls you have regardless of date? It is ridiculous that it can’t show you that. And then the real reason for one star is using the “feedback on our app” button in the app and when you click the concern and the continue button, it doesn’t do anything! When your feedback button is broken, it tells you they don’t care at all.

Complete Garbage. App is complete garbage. I’m try to pay you different tolls. I tried on Thursday and kept getting error messages. Something in regards to their servers. I thought maybe they were upgrading, albeit in the middle of the day, but hey it’s NY so I expect anything. Fast forward to today, same issues. I’m not sure why they don’t make an app that makes it easier to pay it’s not like I’m trying to skirt the system. By the time I remember to sit down and pay it again I’m sure the typical fines will be attached to it and the system will miraculously work. Got to fleece the little guys a little bit more.

Definitely Convenient. The app works well. For the longest time, my E-Z Pass had to paid on their website. This is a lot more convenient. I would have left 5 stars, but it doesn’t allow you to remember credit card info etc so I have to manually enter it each time. Not the worst thing in the world, but hopefully they add this feature down the road.

Why i can not pay any minimum payments this is not tru with new rules. This so horrible when you can not pay minimum payment, ok i know my replenishment is $400 but i paid always weekly $150 and now i can’t do that this is crazy, i think app requires $400 with one time payment, but guys i can’t pay $400 i will pay $150 weekly, and i know when my balance go down or -$2 it doesn’t matter i just pay again $150, so why…

This app is ok IF YOU DON’T MIND DELETING AND REINSTALLING. Got this app for convenience because e-z pass website was too much work and steps to get add funds to my account. This app is ok IF YOU DON’T MIND DELETING AND REINSTALLING EVERY FEW TRANSACTIONS OR MONTH. after a use or two it gives an error message and will not work. You have to delete it and reinstall the app and sign back in. I don’t understand why everything associated with e-z pass is such an epic fail and hard to deal with.

Too hard to use with rental car. I attempted to add a rental car to my ez pass transponder part way into my trip, but could not since a previous renter still had the car registered to their unit. So my ezpass was useless. That sort of caused stress when passing thru multiple tolls that had no humans to staff cash tolls. There should be an easier way to register a rental car by transponder or plates to an account, or identify rental cars in the system. The US highway system needs to staff cash toll lanes or provide other means for customers who don’t have ezpass. Only NY had tolls by mail as a backup; no other states did. There should be one universal backup system for EZPass failures like this.

Ez pass by mail. Nightmare! I added a car (license plate) by mail I April 2023 for a car we bought in March 2023. For some reason ez pass didn’t start working until June so I have $200 in tolls and $100 in penalties. Also NOW In order to get the Grand Island discount $.92/ trip one has to have an electronic reader or one is charged $1.25 per trip! So I have been charged $1.25per trip for 10 months. With 2 cars and no readers, I my ez pass bill was more than my cable bill! This would not have happened if we had our wonderful live toll collectors! Exponential frustration!

Old but functional. This app feels old and unstable like it might give you problems any second but while I use it for basic tasks such as payments and viewing my balance I’ve had no issues recently. This app needs a nice overhaul and redoing with an Apple Pay feature so I don’t have to keep putting my CC number into this app that I’m sure by the looks of things is poorly secured.

Problem. Every time I want to open this page this website it’s amazing that I cannot, I have to delete it start it again delete it start it again I have problems all the time. Then I get this error numbers I do it and it’s the same thing I cannot do it I have to restart it again delete the app redoing the thing over and over and over it’s horrible.

Terribly Managed. Want to stay logged in but hardly use the app? Won’t happen. Every update logs you out so if you’re not a regular app user, you’re going to be logged out every time you go to open the app. Then, your password is no longer correct. The best part here is, it doesn’t tell you that they have expired your password. So you can USE YOUR PASSWORD MANAGER TO ENTER THE PASSWORD YOU HAVE STORED, but it fails over and over. Execute a password reset? Only if the servers can keep up with you. Get to reset your password, can’t use a previously used password.

Horrible app and customer service. App is horrible there is days that works good but most of the time is frozen, or the app doubles or triples your online transactions, take time to post your payment at times. Offices are closed, they post wrongful information like to go to cvs to do transactions, cvs says they have nothing to do with ezpass. When you call it takes you from 30 minutes to an hour to speak to someone that most of the time don’t solve the issue. Their phone connection is also bad. Over all ezpass system is horrible during COVID-19 up to this day

The app is wonderful. Great way to take care of travel costs. I’ve used EZ- Pass for years and I love the way that it saves time on the road. I just learned that I can load the account with more money with just a few taps on my phone. I should have loaded it BEFORE my trip. But no harm done, I did that AFTER the trip. So simple.

“Easy to Use” but error codes galore!. It seems to be an “easy to use” method to pay your toll, but I tried to access the app itself multiple times & received error codes & down messages. Additionally, when I finally was able to get on, there were a number of red error messages that required me to double back and re-enter the same information repeatedly. Grateful there’s a remote way to pay, but frustrated that NYS couldn’t build a better functioning app.

Account number. Yes I registered my e-zpass tag but I didn’t receive my registration number or account number information because I would like making account with the tolls ny app that I downloaded and luckily I was able to use the app and pay for a mail toll bill but I would like to have full access to the app anyway i received payment confirmation and yes I do like the app and that’s why I gave a 5 star rating thanks. 👍

can't login. Always get the answer "credentials entered are incorrect" I use the same credentials I use on website witch works perfectly.

So easy to pay tolls using this app. I am a Canadian and had visited my relatives in NY. I had used the toll roads. With the tollsNY app, I was able to pay online and it was so easy. Very simple and straightforward transaction. Keep up the good work.

More user friendly. You can just keep a credit card payment option only too. Went through the entire process to register and in the end it’s tells me you can’t attach your account because if the routing number. Just keep it straight to the credit card and make it easy to register and use. Thanks

No verification code sent. Cannot use app because it requires a verification code be texted to the user. I’m in Ontario and presumably they decided users outside the state won’t be sent the code.

It’s not working. I can’t use this app, with a Canadian license plate, I’m getting charges even though I’m using an American business’s EZ pass. Won’t let’s me connect account… Does EZ pass use my license plate, if my pass doesn’t link, is there a way to connect it to my account to stop the bills even though I’ve got a pass? Now I have late charges of 50 dollars. I’m confused….. Do others find the use of EZ pass toll stops confusing, stressful and kinda dangerous?

Accomplished after lots of trouble. Doesn’t like Canadian apartment numbers and postal codes

Billing. I have received bills (x2) with late charges in the mail without receiving an original bill in time to pay without late charges. I downloaded the app and have checked for outstanding bills so I can pay them without late charges and can’t find any?? Now I have requested email invoicing. Hopefully I won’t see anymore additional late fees.

NY tolls app. The app itself is good. We crossed the border for a 2 1/2 month vacation in Florida only to see our bill the middle of March. We had no time to respond as our mail was at home. In past years we would always have the opportunity to pay tolls as we entered or exiting. This system is not up front and as far as I’m concerned it’s a scam and a money maker for those unaware of the state system!

Not reachable. There is annoying code 5255 error thats been going on for a few days. Can you please fix this?

Works for Canadians and rental cars. I rented a car in Montreal and drove to NYC and back . Transponder was delivered to Vancouver in about a week. I used 3M picture hangers to fix the EZ pass to the window so I could remove the Velcro when done. To top up the account the app wanted my postal code which baffled me for a while. Eventually entered the 3 numbers no letters and 2 0s. That worked.

Disconnected from reality. Signs along the highway indicated that Tolls By Mail were a thing and the website directed me to this App. Unfortunately for a couple of weeks after driving on the toll highway I plugged my information into this App, but nothing was ever found. Eventually I got the bill in the mail and couldn’t use the App and the QR code on the bill together. I also fully expect that there are more charges coming.

Terrible app. Terrible customer service.. Doesn’t work on a PC (Firefox) or iPad browser (Safari) My correct address information was not accepted. Finally downloaded the app on my iPhone, while this time it accepted the address (which the other versions of the app did not) got several errors trying to use a US credit card, finally got it to work with a US debit card. Over an hour wait time when trying to get someone on the phone. I get it you are trying to drive people to get transponders but I only use this route twice a year to/from Florida so I’m really not interested and this is the only portion of the route where I cannot avoid tolls. Hopefully we’ll get future bills by email so I can pay promptly.

Easy. So easy to pay on line…. Even from Canada

Where to start?. I made the mistake of driving on the New YorkState Thruway the first week of January 2021. I tried to pay my bill that night with my cell phone as directed by the signs. I have logged in repeatedly to the website and tried to pay my bill. I have tried to sign up for a New York easy pass so that I never have to do this again. I have tried to create an account with the app. In every case my attempts fail and I am told that the system is unavailable, please try again. This is unbelievable. For almost 3 months I have tried to pay this toll bill. Explain to me how this is a better system than letting me pay at the gate?

Easy Pass? EASY PAY. Very simple to use and lots of options for payment. Great program that also covers all your vehicles with an easy pass.

No password retrieval option for Canada. Found the app an easy way to keep track of things. For some reason my password got deleted and I couldn’t remember it. The password recovery option does not work without a zip code. Tried customer service and they had a couple suggestions but they didn’t work either. App is now useless to me.

Useless. Useless…. Dorsn’t work ! At least for foreigners ! Tel # doesn’t work ! Neither app !? NO Résultat évent after-shave 12 trials ! They d’au they will sens sms ! But they never did after 12 trials ! NO WAY to pay now !

So complicated for foreigners. The web site don’t accept payment online and I’ve Ben charged fee since I can’t write to anyone

Toll payment. The App works great but pity I couldn’t speak to anyone today Sunday to clarify about my charges. I was charged earlier $19 or which I had pain Dec and now I am charged for the same date travel in Oct. It seems no one is available on weekends.

Total & Absolute Convenience!. I recently crossed the border and had no cash on me. Who carries cash anymore? I asked them to send me the check in the mail. And they did! Thank you. I not only paid my bill, downloaded the app (which was an absolute breeze), got a few free tags for friends and family. All for free! Plus, for some unknown reason, I now have a credit on my account. You need to download this app IMMEDIATELY! Do it now. You have absolutely nothing to lose!

Surcharge added as app didn’t recognise car. I depended on the app to pay my toll fees, added all of my details, and it came up with a ‘no bill outstanding’ notification. I figured we didn’t actually use the toll route this trip. Three months later I get a paper bill with a surcharge for admin plus fee for overdue payment! The overdue feee add up to more than the toll fees! Ridiculous when I went in and checked everything against my plate.

Worst system ever. Keep charging me 6 times less than 15 minutes, still show on their system I am not paid yet.

Useless. You have to enter day by day to get info instead of just your plate number and then you are supposed to receive an sms to a limited list of companies Completely useless if your phone provider is not in the list

Remarkably easy & convenient to use. During a recent road trip, we used our EZ Pass numerous times. We found the phone app very easy and convient to use. It saved us time and worry. I even added funds to my account with it. I recommend installing and using the EZ Pass app.

Fast & Convenient. The Face ID glitches sometimes on my iPhone 14 Pro. Love the app used to go thru their website to reload my tag but with the app it’s soo much faster. Scanning the card number with the camera is the best.

Charge detail issues. When trying to view your charges you have to enter a travel date which is not very helpful unless you have the bill in front of you which still does not cover all of the days for your travel. I would like to just look up my plate number to see all transactions and this app does not allow you to do so. Also the barcode on the bill never works.

Appalling Design Features. This application and service is designed so that you either MUST enter your credit card information every single time you need to re-up for the amount you CHOOSE or you MUST opt in to auto pay at a daily expenditure of 25 dollars. This is absolute robbery, a disgusting and shameful business practice and honestly us everyday workers contribute far too much to you people who do nothing for society but continue to hinder and steal from us. Absolutely disgusting.

Great and Easy to use but just one slight problem…. Like I said in the title, the app is great and easy to use, very handy when it comes to paying your ez pass, and I absolutely love it for when it comes to keeping track of my rides with my car.

App does not work. When I try to start the app it says, this app cannot run on this phone. This phone appears to have been rooted or jailbroken. Like are you serious? This is a new iPhone 12 pro Max and has never been jailbroken. Customer service is no help either.

Zero notifications. Why wouldn’t you allow people to get texts as soon as they went through a toll? It’s like the most obvious reason why anyone would want this app. Real-time notifications of tolls would not only be helpful (which who cares about, right?) but would cut down on fraudulent use of accounts. But hey, just leave the app as is so people can check their balances. An action that no one needs an app for.

Functionally useful.. Makes toll account management actually possible on mobile. The most important features are readily available. The rest can be found with normal exploration. Developers were quite responsive, fixing at least two problems and quickly submitting app updates. Keep up the good work!

Miracle. This app was the miracle I was waiting for, no more having to go to the ez-pass website to check Ballance or add funds. I’m loving the ease of navigation through out the app, no issues. I highly recommend you download and use this awesome app. It’ll cast a spell on you, you’ll love it as much as I do...

Good to have but fix the issues. The app is handy but why is it every time I go to look on the app. It says some error message and the back office can’t be reached. When am I able to view my account it’s all good . Fix that and it would be amazing app. I shouldn’t have to delete the app to download again to see my information.

Antiquated system. System doesn’t reflect tolls for days, literally have to track tolls manually, ridiculous Payment on file doesn’t store Overall just a terrible product

EZ PASS IS A SCAM. Are we the people going to keep up with this. Why do we have EZ PASS? Haven’t we already paid off the bridge the roads with our tax dollars. Ez is a scam created like the mafia taking advantage of people. We pay for gas, we pay on our cars. We pay on everything and now we have one more thing to worry about. And if you accidentally miss a payment or have limited funds. You better believe EZ pass will threaten you with 300x the toll amount. Resulting in thousand of dollar of fees not hundreds of dollars worth of tolls.

Easy and convenient. This app actually had me nervous because I feared that I wouldn’t understand it but it’s definitely the opposite. It’s beyond easy to understand and very convenient to have especially when you have no idea how much you owe or when it’s due etc etc.

Horrible. This app was working a few months back and has been down for me ever since. They send me notifications in my email that my balance is low and I need to replenish, but the only way to replenish is through an app that isn’t working. You would say what about the website? Hah that’s been down as long as the app. Call? Good luck sitting on the phone for hours in hope of speaking to a rep with the app and website not working I’m sure they are flooded with calls resulting in horrid wait times.

Great App, very Convenient.. I remember Being put on hold minutes and at times over one hour just to add funds to my account or getting information about my tolls transactions etc. This App is very informative and easy to use.

Quick. Today I could get on right away and add extra money to my account. Husband is going to Michigan for NASCAR Race and I wanted him to have enough money on the account. Usually I get message saying try later, very frustrating!!

Thank HEAVENS. I’m so glad that we can pay select certain payments on this app compared to online, because I was STRESSED that I needed to pay more than $100 on tolls. I get to select certain tolls to pay without having to feel my pockets being emptied out. THANK YOU.

Great App. I’ve been an e-z pass user for 20+ years paying with Amex auto pay and logging onto the site to update auto info. It was a cramped and hard to read page—the app is much easier to read and navigate. I assume I’ll get app notifications on card expiration and the ability to go right to that page and update it. Good Job!

Excellent app. For years I used the website to check my account status, which it’s not a big problem, but with this app everything it’s easier and faster. I can navigate through the options and account with no confusions at all.

Better use the app.. When it comes to EZ pass the customer service line is bananas. Literally nice friendly people, but it only takes them hours to get back to you LITERALLY! My recommendation use the app. before ever calling their hot line.

Unbelievable. I’ve avoided EZ pass for years because of their practice of dipping into your bank account and taking whatever they want. Finally went back as I’m commuting. They have this neat app where I can add my own funds and no one has dipped into my account…yet. But of course I log in after having the EZ pass account and app for a little over a month and I’m being informed my data has appeared in a data leak. Unbelievable…we’re just not safe with EZ pass in any way.

Typical government employees. The most inefficient department terrible you call or email they don’t do their job. Ask for a manager, and they keep you wanting forever, no. Agency should make us wait for over 90mins for a service you are paying for.

Worst. This is the worst app ever. I’ve had an ez pass for every vehicle I’ve owned and somehow i always get locked out and have violations. When i try to pay it won’t allow me. I get email that my account is done when I’m on recurring payments, when i try to log in my account is temporary locked. I call the 800 number i can never speak to anyone. But then they say to do everything on line or on the app and NOTHING works. And it’s ridiculous cause i need this service.

Good start, but buggy in current revision.. Latest revision of the app seems to get caught in an infinite loop of trying to trigger Face ID and I can’t get it to break out of it. Also need the ability to correct max tolls and vehicle classifications since the NY member agencies’ equipment is still leaving some accuracy to be desired. When it works, it’s nice for quick at-a-glance, however.

Ez pass.. I love this app when it works, but it is offline sometimes.- that is the only reason why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 -I did have a problem with a toll bill one time. I emailed them and they corrected it right away. Very good service.

Can you please fix the glitch on this app. I have opened up deleted re-downloaded restarted etc. etc. everything for this app and when it works it is easy to use but if I have to see oops one more time I’m going to delete it forever

Surprisingly good App. I was able to download load the app and link it to my NY EzPass. I drove from NY to IL and of course all of my NY charges showed up late. The IL charges posted really fast. I think the Ohio chargers posted quick too. When the smoke cleared I was able to load more money on the EZPass with ease.

Never works on the weekend. I need the app to work on the weekends. For my jobs I need to log tolls on the day I do the job, but every time, the app has an error message and I can't get the information. It wouldn't be bad if it was one til, but if I'm driving to the city or Long Island, there's $20-30 worth of tolls that I need to get paid for. What's the point of having the app if it doesn't work when I need it to work?

Glitch with card information. The app is great except for when I go to enter in my card information. The month the card expires only shows up with the numbers between 10-12. I then have to go through the web browser in order to enter my information. I’ve tried restarting the app and re downloading but still the same issue.

Thank you!. That was the easiest process I’ve ever had making a payment through an app. Once verified the account info was loaded, the payment option already had prompted the usual payment amount. The whole thing was probably three clicks. Great job EzPass!

Terrible service. Ezpass removed my payment method from my account without my knowledge, then sent an account revocation notice months later and charged an extra fee. This is beyond terrible service, card didn’t expire either, account was opened with the same card I had on file and put on auto pay, but when I logged in there was no longer a saved payment method. Zero stars if that was an option!

Not reliable. Every time I log onto this app to update payment information or to make a payment or even check my balance, the app doesn’t work. It’s a rarity that I was able to update my payment information today.

App just stopped working all of a sudden. All I get is red error messages,nothing works for me on the app and it was random. It worked fine all year,then 2 weeks ago I tried to open it and ever since then I’m getting all kinds of error messages no matter what I select and the error message vary. One of them mentions something about “backoffice” All the money NYC saved by going cashless and leaving people unemployed yet they can’t even get an app to work. Great place to live!

Last Name Hiccup. I like the App but I couldn’t figure out why wasn’t the app taking my information. I finally figured out that I had to use my last name and my suffix (ie JR or the III) together but once they figure out how to just let the client use their last name only, then it would be a great app

Very satisfied!. The TollsNY app made it so easy and super rapid and convenient to make a payment . Within seconds I could process the transaction, just typing the license plate # and the invoice # I completed the payment. This app gave me piece of mind and the easiest transaction I ever have done. Confused. I don’t not like how transactions are listed on this site. I can tell what is paid and what is not paid. Also, I was paying with one credit card, I added another card and the system has removed the updated card info. Also no customer service to speak with.

Good but could be Better.. Needs a feature that allows the app to remember a payment method. So when you need to make a payment, on the run, you can pull up a previous payment method without having to start from scratch with every payment.

The world, all the features inside the app very inconvenient and has many issues, they should fired the whole army IT inside the company and get the new people who knows how to make great app for everyone and making people more convenient and comfortable to make payment for EZ Pass ( especially when you’re making billions of dollars annually and this is very embarrassing and disgusting)

Get a jail broken error. When my wife downloaded the app on her iPhone XR it said that it is rooted and jail broken. Called apple turns out your app doesn’t work with IOS 14.1 version. I have IOS 13.7 version and it works great! Please fix your app to be up to date with IOS 14.1. Thank you.

Good and bad. This app is better than trying to pay through the phone but fails a lot while paying with certain cards and works better with prepaid cards

Face ID not working. So I downloaded this app not too long ago and at first it was working fine. But now every time I open the app and try to log in with Face ID it just freezes and doesn’t do anything, I turned off logging in with Face ID just to put my passcode but it’s the same. Anyway to fix this?? I already deleted the app and downloaded again, didn’t work!

Garbage. Whoever is doing this app for the state of New York should get fire just like every other elected official and most public servants this app stops working i don’t remember the amount of time that I had to delete and reinstall is pretty much every single week

Payments do not work. I made multiple payments in the app which told me they were processed but two months later I received a letter notifying me that my account was revoked for lack of payment. When speaking to customer service I was told that the app is known to not process payments which is NOT shown in the app. The client service representative explained to me that she had told many people over the last few weeks that the reason the payments were not processed is due to the app not working for payments

The app is useless since they either shut down the servers or stopped supporting it!. You can only access your account through the website! They have completely disabled the server access from within the phone app. Several “website down” tracker sites have reported this issue continuously for the last 2 weeks. There is no mention on their website and no changes in the  store! They could at least tell people they stopped supporting it!

Showed an error message but fixed. Many people are complaining about getting an error message when they open the app, I got it too, but I logged out and logged back in and it worked just fine afterward. Not sure if that works for everyone.

Constant issues; server is always down. This app is terrible for the simple fact that it is useless. In my experience the app always has server issues to where there is nothing but red text on top of the page with server errors and codes. Can’t access my profile or make a payment been having to call on the phone and handle everything with automated machine. So what’s the point in having this app if it doesn’t work

This app needs major improvement. I downloaded the app to make it easier to view my account but the app always has a note “back off system unreachable and try again later." I would have to delete the app and reinstall it to make it work. When the app is working, it’s easier to use for your account balance. Three star is being fair

App issue. Every time I go on the app, there is always an issue. I like the app because it’s very convenient, but I hate the fact when I need to check something I am force to delete app and download it again. Please fix that issue already.

Well…you’ve done it. Who actually designed this app? Why can’t I look up my license plate & see any unpaid EZ pass fees associated with it? Why do I have to choose between “mailed” & whatever the other one is? And search by exact date? This is so nonsensically designed that it made me mad. Unfortunately I have to give you at least 1 star to submit this review. Horrible app not designed by anyone interested in product or the customer. Lazy execution for what is already a money grab.

Terrible. I had a terrible experience. The representative was snooty. I paid what it says I owed, but I am beyond upset, and now crying because I do not have that kind of money. I have always paid every amount the app said I owed, and now all of a sudden, I get a violation and had to pay an extra $50. It’s not right, Those amounts on the violation have not once been sent to me. Not one notice. Nor were they showing on the app any & every time I went on to pay everything in full.
