Love it. Awesome! Easy to use and I always have a digital copy of my insurance card! I love how easy it is to determine whether a doctor or facility is in- or out-of-network! I have recently been temporarily totally disabled so the more information I have at my fingertips the better! ❤️

Good when it works but it hasn’t been working. When it works it’s very helpful but the app has not been working properly since the last iPhone update. I think they need to work out some glitches because it works fine on a computer .

Telemedicine feature always down. I have tried on various occasions to access the telemedicine feature “24/7 availability”. App is up to date and even tried on a coworkers phone for an issue she was dealing with and “experiencing technical difficulties right now”. It’s always for an extended period of time too. There’s no point if the app constantly has bugs and it isn’t available on the full website. Such a disappointment when needing quick diagnosis.

Me Kitty. I’m very pleased with the app because I am able to get more information about my plan without having to spend a lot of time on hold waiting for a representative to answer. During this pandemic it has become a major factor in knowing my benefits and what is covered.

One Star is Too Much. This product is terrible. If I did, in fact, pay any amount for it, as the screen read, I want it back. 1. This may be designed for an iPhone, but I use my iPad for everything. I am not interested in an app that appears in portrait mode on my iPad. 2. Even though my BSBCHorizon card and correspondences read my name as “A Kellogg”, your system would not accept that, or my full first name, Aislinge, in your First Name tab. I have been completely unable to get your company to properly spell my name, which has a diacritical mark over the second “i” in it: Aislínge. I don’t know why this is so difficult. I can give you the Alt+codes for both Mac and Microsoft so you can enter it correctly. Not everyone has typical names without diacritical marks on them. For example, ñ, é, ü, ā, î, ø, to give just a few. People prefer to see their names spelled correctly. 3. I have know why of knowing if this is any good for me, as I am on the BCBS MediCare C Plan. Please respond as fast as possible.

Awesome app! I’d just change one thing. I love the hospital/doctor finder on the app! My only request is to be able to see the doctor’s rating instead of having to switch back and forth from google to see rating and reviews. I also love the explanation of benefits on the app.

“What’s Covered” Error Messages...STILL??. I signed up 3 weeks ago and no matter what I do, there’s an error message whenever I try to see what’s covered. It doesn’t mater if it’s my profile or others under my plan, I get a “We are experiencing difficulties processing your request” error message. Very frustrating. I’ve spoken with several representatives who’ve advised that it was being fixed, but as of 1/1/20, it is still out of order.

Easy access to all my info!. Was able to pull up and move my ID card to the iPhone wallet and was able to show it to my doctor. All my info is easily available and I can see my plan and EOBs! Great app that’s actually useful!!!!!

Have to keep logging in. I used to love the app but the recent updates make it really annoying having to keep singing back in after looking at something I can’t freely look at the app without being kicked out the whole app and start the whole sign in process and it won’t accept my phone number

les than Mediocre. The app is pretty slow, some information/benefits are not disclosed. Often at log in I get an error saying to try later. I suspect it’s something linked to the face ID. but if you don’t have the password somewhere the safari keychain wouldn’t work. The website it’s just as bad.

Best Service. I’ve had UHC plan before and it is not near as good as the service for BCBS Horizon. The app had never crashed on me and I always chat with someone to help me set appointments or answer my questions regarding my claims and they’re always readily available to help.

BCBS horizon. App is convenient and user friendly. Have used it on multiple occasions now, from checking bills to finding specialist and it’s does it function well. Plus big money saver because it’ll give you referrals that are in - network and that can be a costly mistake otherwise. Speaking from experience here.

Inconvenient. I don’t like this app at all, so far. It’s just a scaled down version of the web site, with impossibly hard to read tiny fonts. The layout is not convenient at all, and they just take forever to load. Whenever you click “close” to go back to a previous screen,It takes you all the way back to the beginning, and you have to click through four or five screens again to get back to where you left off. It’s essentially the website in miniature, with no added benefit except for fingerprint login.

Better App. It appears more user friendly and quickly. I hope the pay bill is as easy or better than before.

Unable to upload docs/pictures. The app is super convenient and great to use. I think the nurse chats and telehealth video conferences with the docs are awesome features (especially now with COVID). I would give the app 5 stars but I believe there is a glitch on the iPhone app that doesn’t allow you to upload your pictures/documents before conferencing with a doctor. Yesterday, I desperately needed to talk to a doctor but could not proceed with anyone because the app did not let me do all the steps when filling out my information so I could not upload necessary documentation. After the first initial step where you fill out your medical history, it does not lead you any further to billing, etc. After inputting your name, allergies, and any medication you may be on, the app takes you directly to the waiting room to see the doctor. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, updating it, and restarting it but still I could not get to the proper page I needed to be. When compared to the computer version, the laptop version of the website is much simpler and easier to use. On the laptop, I was able to fill out much more information, upload my documents, and confirm my billing. Please look into this issue because this really is a great app.

Lack of Functionality. I switched my Prescription plan to Horizon. I made a mistake looking at the reviews assuming they were of value. This app and online are functionally lacking features available with competitors for years. The app is basically useless. Updates to claims, status, payments are late or plain and simple missing. I will be going back to my old provider next enrollment period.

Disappointed in payment bugs. As a first time telehealth user, I was very disappointed in the bugs in this app. It took me 30mins to enter my payment details for a telehealth visit. The credit card number scanner didn’t consistently work. When it asked me for my name on the billing page, it gave me a number keyboard instead of letters. I had to paste my name in from another app. When I manually entered the numbers and verified them three times to ensure they were right, it gave me an error that my credit card couldn’t be processed. I tried a second credit card and got the same error. I left very frustrated and unable to get the care I needed.

Convenient way to access insurance information. This app is nice to have to conveniently access insurance information (cards, find a doctor) as well as to access 24/7 nurse line and telemedicine

Mostly great. It's great to be able to access all of my insurance information so quickly and easily, but there are still a few bugs. Most notably, tapping the button to add my insurance card to Apple Wallet doesn't do anything.

Easy to see my claims and chat with nurse. I like the easy-to-read claims which quickly shows if I owe anything to my doctor and how much I need to pay, if anything. The nurse chat function is also very easy to use - they are responsive and helpful in helping me and my family with urgent care-type questions.

ID card. I am super impressed with ID card feature that lets me share the front and back of the ID card. I was recently at the doctors office without my insurance card and used this feature to share my information. This saved me time to drive back and get my ID card. Super cool and convenient!!! I tried to share the ID through apple wallet but it doesn’t have both front and back information. It would be nice if we can just email from the apple wallet but I am still happy that the app has this feature.

Worst app. Don’t bother downloading this app if you’re trying to make your life easier. The app always crashes and the “assistance” only looks up providers for you. They don’t answer any billing questions, they don’t help schedule appointments for you even though it says it’s an option. Such a waste of time. Your account will never reflect it’s true amount. I’ve paid bills ahead of time and it’ll still show a balance as though I’m late.

Convenient...could be a little better.. Overall, I really like this app and use it frequently when it comes to searching for in-network doctors and staying on top of my claims. Sometimes it can be a little buggy. I wish it would let me download my insurance card to Apple Wallet properly but it always crashes the app if I try. Please fix that! I tried everything to make it work in case it was user error...might be the app itself! I would also like if there was a section where I could keep office information at the ready, sort of a “Favorites” tab where I could pull up the contact information of any of my doctors quite quickly. Would also love if I could manually enter dates of office visits with the ability to add notes to each entry.

Can’t set up auto pay. On the site and on this app, I get error messages when trying to set up auto pay. You would think payment methods would be the most important thing for the developer of this site and app, but making payments or setting up auto pay is the most difficult thing to do on both the app and site for sure. I wonder how much time is actually devoted to them.

Highly recommend. I made an appointment when I had a headache and swollen lymph nodes and an urgent care didn’t know what was wrong with me. The PA who helped me on this app was able to diagnose ophthalmic shingles before the rash was present. She instructed me to go to the ER, who said they had no idea what was going on but treated me for shingles bc of the care I received on the app. It turns out that she was correct, and speedy treatment is critical for this illness. The care I received on this app greatly reduced my chances of complications and made treatment possible.

Very Responsive. I have this insurance for leas than a month. They are great. So responsive. Whenever I sent them message, I got a quick response. Their App is very user friendly and is available anytime you want. I highly recommend it.

Excellent resource especially for telemedicine. I have used this app before for telemedicine appointments and I am quite pleased. I always get top care and all of the doctors have been great. I would highly recommend the service.

Super easy!. Whenever you need help trying to schedule an appointment, the chat option is the way to go! Their response time is really fast to help you sort out which doctors may be a better fit. Also, the look of the app is really sleek which makes navigating it a lot easier.

Consistent and easy to navigate. I am really impressed with the accuracy of this app. I have all of the information I need at my fingertips and it’s really intuitive. I find doctors, pay bills, review EOB info right from my phone. It even helps me manage my HSA!

A couple of things to fix. The app crashes when trying to save ID card to my Apple wallet. I didn’t know that I wanted it in my wallet until it was offered as an option by the app. Then it didn’t work, so my hopes were dashed. Also the App Store has a link that is labeled App Support that only takes you to the Horizon site and offers no support for the app.

Amazing app. Not only can you view your policy information and ID cards but you can also schedule appointments with Doctors or facilities from your phone. The most convenient part about this is that you can chat directly to a representative and even a nurse who can help direct you to the most appropriate care personnel needed. Amazing

Just what I need at my fingertips.. This is easy to use, navigate and understand. It has all the features I need to manage my health insurance and then some. One feature that’s great is the ability to find a doctor and make an appointment. It’s an easy search and a call to their office and directions to get there are just a click away. Thanks for making things so easy.

Restarts constantly. If I press the wrong key, wait, too long for a TeleMed appointment or just the sky is blue this app, glitches and restarts. While trying to book a TeleMed appointment it restarted 3 to 4 times and then again while I was waiting to see a doctor. I gave up and now I’m going to another app for a different TeleMed appointment because I can’t stand the Horizon app. For all the money that consumers spend on insurance it is completely ridiculous that they cannot make a simple app that works.

TeleMed issues. Overall the app is good. However it was unusable for telemed. It asks you to scan your credit card with the camera, but would not read two different cards. You can enter manually, but when you attempt to enter your name, you can only use a number pad. I had to use a computer instead since I couldn’t complete the billing.

Very well put together app.. This is a very well put together app, I tried using other apps to locate in network doctors in my area and have always been frustrated with the miscommunication between the service providers and the other apps I’ve used, the worst one in my opinion being zocdoc.

Super easy. I cannot believe how easy and hassle free this submission has been! Historically it was a painful process of multiple calls and waiting for the papers to be received and processed.

App review. The app itself is very organized and well designed. The chat feature with the ability to save the transcript is excellent. My only complaint is the coverage information. It’s too basic and most people are looking for more detail on the site. A link to the full policy coverage page that’s easily placed would help greatly.

Never works. I’m not sure what’s worse, this app or their website. They both used to work with no problems, but for the past several months it takes so long just to sign on, if you can even do that. If you get lucky and successfully log in it’s never guaranteed you can accomplish anything. Slow, unresponsive and clunky like the United States medical system.

If I can’t pay, it doesn’t stay.. I just installed the app today because the online mobile site wasn’t loading and showing an error message. I notice there was an app so I downloaded it thinking I could go to payment center to make a payment. It’s as if you have everything I need so far, except the payment center. Why make an app but not include the payment center. If there is a way to pay my bill through the app, please someone let me know, cause I googled it and it kept coming back with results for the online site. Also, how do I enter in a question I have for the FAQ board if there is no place for me to search/ask a question about anything? I just see the top asked questions (which was not a lot), and nothing I’m looking for. I feel as if this could be a great app and I would use it more then the online mobile app if the app wasn’t flawed as much.

Good overall. Seems like all the official plan / summary docs are there but in terms of presentation, drilling into coverage provides only minor details (covered/not covered). I consider that a half effort at best. Also, the telemedicine link fails repeatedly, which I’ve seen in other reviews, so I consider that is likely a flaw/bug. I haven’t checked the ability to pay balances owed but if that functionality still does not exist in the app, that’s a major fail. 3/5 stars for decent info with what appear to be functional gaps or flaws.

Rarely works. The app hardly ever works in full on my iPad. I am using the newest version of the app but I rarely have full functions available. There is almost always some sort of technical error with some aspect every time I try to access the app. When I try to use the website it then directs me to the app. Fix these problems!

Barely Functional. I recently signed up with Horizon as my insurance provider and was excited to see that they had their own proprietary app service. Unfortunately, the app seems to be very buggy and nearly every link and tab leads to an error message. If you use this app to check your bill balance, you are better off using the web service instead. Disappointing.

Nice idea but doesn’t work. I installed the app and each time I clicked on video call with doctor I would get a message that they were experiencing technical issues and call customer service. I called customer service and they were closed. I kept trying the app and finally, I was able to get the app to open. I entered my information and when I went to see the doctor the app would just close. I am really disappointed that this doesn’t work.

Great. Downloaded app & it is easy to use & navigate. Really appreciate having all the information right at my fingertips instead of calling, waiting or getting a recording. THANK YOU, LOVE IT!

Frustrating and slow. When needing telemedicine to avoid going to the doctor this past weekend the app continually crashed. There is no weekend phone support. A month ago I tried to add my primary care physician to the app (as there is an option for it) and could not. What is the point of the app if does not work for anything other than speaking to a “nurse” that said I should be able to use telemedicine and even tried to send me links to login through the website- yet again it did not work. It would be nice to have real answers as to why these things do not work or have someone Avalon weekends to respond to your customers needs.

It’s okay.. I wouldn’t have a problem with the app if using your passcode to login would start working again. It’s been weeks now that it hasn’t worked. It’s also been really slow since then to get logged in using your full password. I understand having the passcode option to login is a convenience, but don’t waste my time trying that login method if it’s not going to work. Otherwise, I find the tools available on the app to be useful & easy to navigate. Please fix the passcode error.

Apple wallet doesn’t work!. Everything is perfect but the Apple wallet feature to add the insurance card doesn’t work! I’ve tried a dozen times still nothing! I wrote the insurance company and email but haven’t received a response yet! Just frustrated is all! Please fix!!! Thank you!

The best app. Horizon app is great. Especially the nurse chat option which is available 24 hours. You can ask for help anytime. If you need more help they can connect you with a live chat to a doctor who can diagnose and send any medical requirements electronically like lab test, prescriptions and everything. You will feel better and relax with this outstanding service

Why is this app constantly down?. I feel like everytime I need to use this app it’s down for maintenance. When I finally do get on the app and try using the doctor finder, the phone numbers listed for an office is very rarely the right phone number. When I tried calling an internalist using the phone number listed, it was the phone number for an orthopedic surgeon. This isn’t even the first time that happened. What’s the point of using this app when it barely works!!

Broken app. This app shouldn’t even be approved on the App Store it’s so bad. Half of the stuff on the app just gives you an error and tells you to contact support. The Find a provider section doesn’t even allow you to click the bar to enter your address. Most of the time the chat functions give you an error and force you to call customer support even though they claim 24/7 availability. If it were up to me I would have this app removed from the App Store until they get it together. Just save yourself the frustration and use the website.

Easy to maneuver. The APP is easily accessible day or night and user friendly. I enjoy finding instant information about anything relative to explanation of benefits to finding providers.

Great. I’ve had a variety of insurances, and Horizon is the best- this app makes everything so easy to find primary doctors and specialists within my tiers.

Doc finder doesn’t work. I saw another review where horizon suggested turning on location, but mine is and was on, and yet it still doesn’t work. I don’t want to contact chat every time I want to look at drs or locations within network. Please fix this feature or take it off the app.

Too Notch Care. Best advice on an in chat app! Much better than calling my primary, waiting online for 20minutes only to have to wait 3weeks or more for an appointment

Great!. Great service and I can see all my information here and they let me know through email any changes or new information regarding my insurance.

Both app and website are terrible. It’s 2024 and horizon’s website is barely functional. The app isn’t much better. You’d think with the billions they scam off regular folks they can at least invest some of it into tech. But then again why make things just a tiny bit more bearable for the people who pay them, right?

Easy to find/make appointments. I’ve been in need of pcr tests and making appointments. This app is really handy and easy to use to help me find places.

Provider finder is not working 100%. Search for hospitals is not available. The search button does not load. Out of state search does not work at all. Clicking on the button does not open another window that would provide out of state options.

Problems within the site. Was sad about the whole set up is I don’t get this always having problems with this site I’ve been having problems since day one so I can say

Poor. Unable to open the app extremely slow and poor performance

Payment. It’s good except it allowed me to make several payments and doesn’t show no balance due

Constant app updates. The app requires an update every few weeks. And every single time it requires you to reset the password!!! A new password can not resemble 10 previous passwords! Doesn’t allow to sign in with the fingerprint either! What type of info can be so unbelievably confidential? A list of participating providers? A list of covered benefits? Seriously?!

You owe me 2 hours of my life back.. Almost 2 hours waiting for a telemed appointment while very sick and trying to keep my eyes open and not fall asleep and miss the appointment. While I was next in line (finally), the second “unknown error” occurred and kicked me out of the app. When I tried to log back in, I was 9th in line (another hour and a half). I’ll just stay sick, thanks anayway.

Clear. Concise. Supportive. I have used telemedicine twice and both times I have felt heard and supported and comfortable sharing my symptoms. What a wonderful asset. So thankful!

Convenient. So much easier than calling customer service. No offense to customer service.

Great tool. One tap to see if a claim has been paid; another tap to glance at your benefits as well as balance towards deductibles and such. Awesomely easy to use and extremely helpful.

Good app. It’s a good app. It does what it supposed to do. It saves me from having to go to my computer and bring it up on the web. It’s with me wherever I go.

Bill pay doesn’t work. The bill pay feature is there but hasn’t worked for over a year, constantly giving an error when attempting to make a payment. Why has this not been addressed and fixed is beyond me. Seems like a basic function.

Great. Good app for making payments and doing online doctor visits if you don’t have time to make an appointment in person.

App performance is poor. Most advertised features do not work. Apple should consider asking Horizon to remove this app from the store and fix it. This app barely meets Apple quality criteria and performs poorly. Most of the advertised features do not work. I tried using the add insurance card to Apple wallet and the button doesn’t work. I used an IPhone XR and have latest IOS version on my phone.

Best App -Thank Heaven!!. I have been able to find doctors, make appointments, check insurance claims easily and timely. App is great and so are the people behind it doing all the “paperwork”! This has been awesome!

Handy to have!. Love that I can use facial recognition to sign in — makes it so much easier! Easy to view claims and I had a chat with a Member Service Rep about my Rx claims and deductible. Super easy!

Information at your fingertips. So great to have the information about your claim, services, Doctors and Hospitals right in the palm of your hand.

Always experiencing “technical difficulties”. You would think this company makes no money based on the performance of their app! Always something going on. Takes forever to process anything and would request to go into their website for minor changes (like payment). Waste of time!

Fully covered labs. I would like to suggest you put labs used somewhere on your website, I looked and couldn’t find this information. I needed to call and speak to a rep for this information.

So helpful!. Love that I can search for doctors in network and call right from the app. Can quickly search for benefits and see my claims so fast and easily

Nice Functionality. Like the app a lot. I did notice a bug. When you try and add the card to apple wallet, it crashes my iPhone XS and my wife’s iPhone 8. Hope you can fix that. Other than that, thank you for the wonderful app. JW

Terrible. This app is terrible. So many issues with it such as it won’t let me in told me to call customer care. Closes out automatically when you hit forgot user name/password. It has not worked properly since I installed it.

Poor customer service. Not sure if the customer service is tied to this app but waste management has better customer service. Regardless of what this app shows me, my coverage status, etc. I end up having issues I have to resolve over the phone with very poor service that takes hours to get a hold of just to get them to fix their mistakes.

Very Helpful App. I really like that you can search for in-network hospitals from this app. Checking claims is quite easy too.

App is fine but not sure why we have to fill out paper claim forms. The app works, but I don’t under why we have to fill out a new paper form with lots of info when it is all on the itemized bill. Even Aetna had left this old way of submitting claims.

Good App. Used this a couple times for various services (finding doctors, telemedicine, benefits information) and it is very easy to use and works well. Enables Face ID for login which is very helpful too.

Solid app. App crashes when trying to add ID cards to the Wallet! Still the case on 10/11. Even after the “fix”. Edit 10/13 - have to delete the app and then re download. ID cards load. Works well now. Thanks!

So easy and convenient. This might be the best insurance app I’ve ever used, so easy to use and very convenient to file a claim/ look for a nearby dr that accepts ur plan.

Accessibility. The app is easy to use and gives quick up to date info on claims.

Saves me a lot of time. I love that I don’t have to call and Deal with long wait times to check to see if doctors are in my plan. I just have to do a quick search in the app and I know! It’s that simple!

Very disappointing. Had it for a week and it crashed, freezing on the login page. Reinstalled and was still frozen so restarted my iPhone. Now it appears facial recognition isn’t available. Additionally, they rarely update claims info. I have many claims over last two weeks but info available is nearly a month old. Not helpful.

Buggy and Painstakingly Slow. Something is terribly wrong with this app. I’ve had various phones since I had this app so I know the phones are not the issue. This app is almost useless. A single action takes minutes to load. Apple on more than one occasion has notified that our passwords were part of a leak. This has happened more than one time.

Love it!. So helpful! Had no idea an app like this existed, easy to find in network doctors, all in one place. if you don’t have time to book an appointment they will even do it for you

Dr Babar. Dr Babar was very knowledgeable and efficient with my visit. When we lost video, he called my cell phone and saved me the time and worry of going through the process again.

Garbage.. How do they have the audacity to develope an app that’s doesn’t take you further than a log in screen. FOR MONTHS! God forbid you wanted to pay your bill or look at your plan info.... oh, wait you can’t. People pay all this money and here we have some garbage disguised as an app to help others. Nobody wants to be on the phone on hold jumping through hoops to pay a bill. Thanks for playing with peoples lives.

Technical problems. Over and over. I try to verify my cell phone and Avery single time, I get a technical error. I called the help line and they didn’t. Even when I verify my home phone, it only lets me do one thing. Whatever it is, after I’ve done it, I can’t back out to do something else. When I try, it goes back to the login screen. It’s really frustrating.

Formulary access. I would love to access the full formulary list of medicines through the app. I always find myself googling it. Other than that, the app is great.

Easy to use!. It’s a good app to have when you are on the go. Quick access to all your insurance needs.

It’s easy. Makes everything accessible on your smart device instead of waiting for it to load up on your computer which can take forever it seems.

Apple Wallet. It’s great to have the link under ID for Apple Wallet but unfortunately it doesn’t work. Nothing happens when you select Apple wallet. I wish this could be fixed so the cars is readily accessible without having to login to the app. Otherwise it’s a great app!
