Great game; buggy implementation. I love the board game version of Isle of Skye. The interface and AI for the app are well done. However, about 1 in 4 games lock up and have to be aborted. That is frustrating.

Agrivating. Great board game! One of my absolute favorites! That being said, this app is a clutchy design, and prone to stalling.

Works, sort of . . .. There are a few bugs and glitches. This game hasn't been updated in years. It's pretty much abandonware at this point, so nothing is getting fixed anymore. The glitches and bugs don't bother me as much, nor the slow gameplay. What annoys me the most is the game A.I. Online multiplayer is pretty much not an option, being messy and hard to find a steady game. So I play offline. Easy and medium A.I. are brain dead, so I play against hard. Now this is where I have the problems . First is the A.I. is not trying to win, but make you lose. They will work together to screw you. An example that has happened a few time is I've set my tiles at a high price that none of the A.I. can buy, so the first two A.I. will buy useless tiles from the second two, which allows the second two buy both my tiles. My second problem is the tiles seem to favor the A.I. more. Tiles the A.I. needs have a higher frequency of appearance, while tiles you need have a lower chance of appearing. I don't know if this is real, but it has happened in the majority of games I've played.

Game is virtually unplayable. Decent adaptation of the real game (which we own),however, do not purchase in current form! Text randomly disappears, buttons stop working, bidding breaks consistently, and I have had several games crash or freeze in the very last round... This game needs some serious work before you should buy it....

Buggy software but a great game. So far I played this maybe 20 times. Maybe 3 out of 20 I had to abort the game because the AI was stuck or some corner case was not fulfilled which prevented the game to go on. I wish the developers can fix those bugs soon.

Playing Local game with Husband!. We have played this game probably 10 times so far and it has been great every time!

Waste of Money. What a complete garbage app, buggy and kicks you out of games in progress. I hope people can get a refund for this stinking pile of trash. Why release something so buggy and have the audacity to charge people for it. Everyone who bought this is basically a glorified alpha tester.

Great game and great digital implementation. I have not had any issues with the game. The AI is very nice and challenging on the different levels.

Excellent digital Port. This is a another great board game port by Digidiced, I own the board game, and was very happy to see how well the app plays, you can speed the game up to play fast when you get the hang of how to play, the AI is solid and puts up a good challenge on hard, the game plays well on my iPhone X max phone and iPad , if you enjoy board games I highly recommend giving this game a try.

Went from buggy to unplayable with last update.. This app has been pretty buggy from the get-go. The major issue has always been the AI getting hung up requiring a restart of the game in progress to get the AI to do something. This was annoying but somewhat minor since restarting was quick and easy. However, the most recent update has completely broken game saving. Since the AI breaks down in about 95% of the games I play, this means I have about a 5% chance of successfully finishing a game which is unacceptable. I'm not touching it until this is fixed and I will think twice about buying future titles no matter how much I love the game.

Just Won’t Work. The game hangs up at the same time every game— second round, placing tiles. It’s the green player’s turn, but the player board across the bottom is the blue player, so you cannot place on the correct board to advance the game. PLEASE get these bugs fixed it’s such a good game!

Broken now with the iOS 14 update.. Was working fine, now picking casual game or running games, after the asmodee account login it goes to a popup that says “Login with Game Center” that I can’t get past. Can’t either create or join a game anymore. Useless.

Great game but problems. I lose a game every once in a while to freezing and bugs. No biggie. But I can get online play to work at all. Conflict between asmodee and game enter. Please fix this.

Fun strategy game. Fun with depth. Relatively easy to learn with lots of replayability.

Excellent implementation of a wonderful game!. This is a great port of a nice little board game - I had never played the board game much until this came along. The tutorial is good at introducing the main concepts of the game without bashing me over the head with too much stuff. It introduced the basic gameplay and some strategy very well. The game plays fine, I have no idea what other people are talking about, maybe they had earlier editions? The UI is clear and responsive and the game plays very well. Thank you!

Buggy. After numerous drag and place issues the screen permanently froze on the first day of play on my I phone.

Keeps Telling Me to sign into GameCenter. I have an Asmodee username and password since I play the other board games. But when I installed this Isle of Skye app and wanted to ply with my friends, I clicked on username and it asked if I already had an Asmodee username and password. I entered them and now it always tells me to sign into GameCenter. I don’t use GameCenter and don’t want to use it. I do t use GameCenter for the other Asmodee apps either. My Asmodee username and password should be good enough. This must be fixed!!!

Freeze issues. Games “freezes / locks up” mid play large majority of the time. Very frustrating

Can’t get past tutorial. Stuck in “rounds and scoring”, can’t select B, C, or D?

Fun, can't get friends list. I play other Asmodee games with my friends often. Isle of Skye tells me I am logged in as Purple Skates when it opens. When I try to play with friends it tells me to enter my email or user name. I try each, but neither works. It just freezes at that point. It Never asked for a passeord or does anything else. I just downloaded this game and learned it to increase my social joy durring the pandemic. I enjoy the game. I really want it to work. Please. Help.

Freezes. If you can actually finish a game it's great. Unfortunately, I usually get one game in that works fine. The second game always freezes up and I have to close the app. Definitely not worth $4.99 for a game that doesn't work.

Great game, buggy app. I would definitely rate this higher but the game continuously freezes when playing against ai. Besides that, the point scoring for each round moves very slowly.

Pass and play broken. Game freezes on pass and play every time. Unplayable. Scam.

I want this so desperately to work. As a huge fan of the tabletop version, I bought this game as soon as it launched and right away found that local games with a guest glitch out into the 2nd round making it impossible to continue the game. Every. Single. Time. It will swap tiles between me and the guest and disallow anyone to place anything. The game itself does not freeze, I can open History or view the rules or menu, but I am barred from continuing on with the game, even with the wrong tiles. Without fail, every time. The game functions fine enough most of the time if I play against just AI (sometimes I cannot drag my tiles onto the board), but I didn’t buy this game to play against predictable AI, nor do I understand this apps focus on online p2p competition. A useless feature as far as I’m concerned. There are few truly multiplayer games for iOS, and with each update I hope this VERY OBVIOUS bug is fixed, because frankly how has anyone on the dev team not tested this feature? If it worked occasionally I could understand the oversight but nearly 6 months on the market and the most important feature doesn’t even work.

Multiplayer needs work.. This game is still very buggy, however most are what I would consider minor inconveniences. By far for me the future of multiplayer will determine if this app stays on my phone, as even the hardest AI no longer presents any challenge. Players no longer taking their turns once they determine they’re having a bad game is the biggest issue. The game takes forever to time out, then literally never disappears from the running games lobby. If a player times out, he/she should be eliminated and the game continued to completion. I also feel that a player’s ranking should be negatively impacted if they time out otherwise there is no reason at all for people to continue if they feel they can’t win. This certainly has potential to be a great great app. I just hope the developers follow through with it.

Enjoyable. I enjoy the game in physical form so gave it a try. It’s equally enjoyable in digital form. The AI cheats, though, and gives itself double points sometimes on the scrolls. Watch out for that…

Don’t Waste Your Money. I just purchased this for my iPad and it doesn’t run. I cannot even complete the tutorial without it hanging up. Also, it says you must sign in to “GAMECENTER” to play, but that is nowhere to be found on my iPad. I cannot even find out to dispute this with Apple Care. Save your $5 for something better. This is a garbage app.

How to play one?. Really enjoying the local game vs the AIs, but I want play online with others. Can’t figure it out. Asmodee account...game center account...can’t get anything to work.

Wait for bug fixes. Every issue mentioned in the other existing reviews, I’ve run into. Outside of all these issues, the app seems well done, so it’ll probably be worth a purchase at some point in the future, after the bugs are squashed. For now though, I had the tutorial hang on me, and my first attempted game with a friend and an AI hang. This was rushed, and in its current state, it’s a beta release at best.

Updated but still needs help. Update 8/13: Another update and the loading hangup switching between games still isn’t fixed :( Update 8/6: upon 10 more plays, everything is not perfect. The screen does a perma-load (LOADING) sometimes and you often need to login back in. I have also noticed +- buttons missing when trying to set tile prices. Lastly, it is sometimes difficult to acquire the tile into your possession. Sometimes only after 3 or 4 tries. Add a double click option to acquire? Thanks Looks like the launch issues were fixed because this played perfect for me. One of the top 5 favorite games that I own. Graphics are true to the physical game, bidding works great, online asynchronous, local, and ai play options make it great. Similar to Patchwork, the game allows you to cycle through your async games quickly. Get this!

Bugs bugs and more bugs. This game seems to have been released before it was done baking. I literally had to redownload it 4 times before all the data was visible; the first time I tried to play, most of the graphics were missing from the tutorial, and it was literally impossible to advance said tutorial because the things I was supposed to tap on weren’t present. The next 3 download attempts resulted in several assets missing, notably the description of the scoring tiles. I finally seem to have downloaded all assets and can play local games against AI, but the keyboard never appears when I attempt to enter my asmodae account info, so I can’t log in to play online. Given my disastrous attempts to download to date, I am at best hesitant to redownload again, lest I find myself in a state where I can’t even play locally.

So glitchy!. I love the board game version of this, so I was very excited to be able to play on my phone or tablet. However, there are constant glitches in this game! It makes it borderline unplayable. Right now if I start a game against the AI, it freezes up. If I quit out to go back in, the game is gone. It also tells me that there is a connection problem when there isn’t. I just X out of the window and the game plays, until it freezes. So frustrating!

Love this game.. Great looking app for one of my favorite board games. I got errors at first when trying to play ranked games, but the problem is now solved. Great job all around!

Too slow. This game is really meant to be played on the table unless they have a live version playing an asynchronous game is very inefficient as you have to wait for the next person to logon just to determine if they’re buying any tiles and then again for each player to place their tiles.

Great port of the physical game. I had rated this lower initially due to bugginess but the latest release finally resolved the drag & drop issues so I bumped it up to five stars. This is a great digital implementation of a great physical game. AI is challenging and multiplayer works well.

Unplayable. I am seeing loading screens and cannot even a start a game. Unplayable in its current form.

Carcassonne and Suburbia had a baby!. I'm loving this game! What might on the surface may look like a wannabe Carcassonne clone is so much more with clever tweaks to the ol' tile laying concept like bidding on pieces and having to adapt to constantly shifting bonus objectives.

Not at all what I was looking for.. Can not play games against AI. Can not even find online games available. Forces me to continually sign in. Game continually gets frozen in opening screen. I’ve never wanted my money back more. This game is completely useless with these issues.

Active community of skilled players. I have played 64 multiplayer games of Isle of Skye on this app in the last 9 months against players from around the world. I really enjoy the skilled competitive games and the ranking system. I have only encountered occasional problems with the app that are usually solved by restarting and logging in again.

Excellent strategy game. I really enjoy the challenge of beating the hard level AI in this game. Every game is different, music is great, graphics are good and I can imagine it would play really well with other people! Does freeze occasionally- only when I rush the placement of tiles, so no real bother now.

Isle of Skye. It’s a fantastic game but I had to give the game 4 stars as I don’t have any choices for colour. Does anyone else have this issue?

Isle of Skye. Great adaptation of the board game. However it does tend to freeze. One common problem is when placing your tiles - sometimes it won’t let you finish your move. I’ve reinstalled it a half dozen times this week alone.

Fine. The app runs slowly and with a low frame rate. I have never experienced a crash. Mechanically, the game functions almost perfectly as far as I can tell. However, sometimes it fails to recognize when whiskey barrels are connected to the castle by roads, and so it sometimes miscalculates income. Hopefully this is an easy fix and the developers take care of it quickly.

Bugs and corny tutorial. The app bugged several times during the tutorial asking me to press the “confirm and move button” when I had already done so. The only way to move on is to actually restart the tutorial which is a pain as it is slow and crippled with too many lame jokes instead of going straight to the point. Asmodee, maybe it’s time to fix this, the app has been out for a while now and apparently it’s still as slow as in the beginning.

Meh. The game is good but this app feels unpolished. There are many bugs which ruins the experience. I would not recommend anyone to buy the current version if you plan to play online games. => Can’t finish online games or even see who actually won games on the last round, thanks to infinite loading and freezing screens. The app keeps asking for login info which is annoying.

Tile background Pink. Downloaded this for my iPad. All tile backgrounds are solid pink instead of showing terrain. Makes the game largely unplayable.

Online play is buggy. Playing against AI is fine but online play sticks. Have not been able to play a full game.

Good faithful adaptation. This is a great app to play one of my favourite games! I don’t play online, just against AI, and there are good difficulty levels. The graphics and sounds are really well done. Occasionally I won’t be able to move to the next phase of a turn, but backing out of the game and then going back in fixes it and lets me keep going from where I left off. Doesn’t happen often but is still there. Besides that, this has been excellent!

Great game, AI needs improvement, cannot play online. I love this board game and was excited to play the app. The app is quite well done, except for a few bugs (such as the app freezing in the middle of every 4 or 5 games) and the bizarre login screen that doesn’t work at all unless you have gamecenter enabled on your iPad. My biggest complaint is that I have yet to succeed getting an online game started. I keep starting games but never get an opponent. So I have been playing exclusively with the AI which unfortunately is not very advanced. Even the highest level AI seems programmed to favor territories over all else, even if NONE of the scoring tiles included territory tiles. So rather than place a tile in a way that earns points (e.g. connect it to the castle), it will close a territory for 0 points. Pretty frustrating that it doesn’t play better. I should not be able to win against the hardest AI 98% of the time... I am not that good.

Great game, but..... I like this game very much and it plays well in local player versus AIs mode. But when I try to play with someone else as a “guest,” the game freezes in round 2. This should be an easy fix; it’s surprising this bug still exists.

So Darn Buggy. It's a fun game, but the developer hasn't bothered to publish any bug fixes in 3 years, despite clear, easily reproducable issues with the app locking up frequently.

Brilliant port. I really enjoy this game. The game is a perfect port, and you can control the speed of the game (for experience players they can speed it up) and you can also pick hard or easy AI players. The game itself is a very beautiful game. It is a pleasure to play this. I never get tired of playing this game late at night before bed, and you can also play players all over the world. This was one of the reasons why I loved ticket to ride, small world, and other Asmodie games.

Impossible de déplacer les tuiles.. J'ai fais l'achat du jeu pour mon iPad. Le jeu fonctionne bien jusqu'à la pose des tuiles. Le drag and drop, ne fonctionne pas et je dois mettre fin à la partie. Mauvais achat pour l'instant....
