Good with some issues. To start out, the game is fun. It’s a great time to kill some time, especially when you might only have a few minutes. But the issues I’ve seen (and they are there) begin with the inconsistency. It’s a giant pain when a word will work in one puzzle and not in the next. If it’s for bonus points I don’t understand how the game can not recognize a word it just gave me credit for a round or two before. The game has also recognized words like ‘bro’ but not a word like ‘eon’, which is actually a real word and not an abbreviation. I’ve also seen the game not recognize a word but then accept it if you enter it again. The other issue I have is the ads. SO MANY ADS. They show one after every single puzzle, which sometimes might be less than 20 seconds apart if you’re doing the daily challenges since they’re so short. And if you put the game away and reopen it later mid puzzle... another ad. I understand the need for revenue but it’s a little excessive and I can see it turning players away. That aside it is a fun game and I do enjoy playing it. I just think it could be improved.

Almost fabulous. I really enjoy playing this game but,,, I hate, hate, hate that the ads can’t be silenced in the settings. I have to turn the volume down if I want to play it anywhere other people are. My favorite time is when I wake up in the middle of the night but, it’s so annoying if I forget to turn the volume off. It’s even MORE annoying if I forget to turn it back on and I don’t have an alarm wake up in the morning. All of these ads should have captions for ADA compliance so there isn’t any reason why the designers can’t make the volume on everything mute. Still hate the ads not automatically muting with the game settings. Really, most of the ads have annoying music and none of them have any information which is useful, except for the ads for real products, and they SHOULD be closed captioned. Seriously, I can’t play this game anywhere I might miss a call in public because I have to keep the volume off. Sooooooo annoying.

Immensely Frustrating Game. First of all, I dislike not having any reasonable explanation of points, awards and so on. It’s always a guessing game to know how many hints one has left to use. Then, there are what I call the ‘bogus’ words. Another name would be the brown, sometimes green excrement that exits from a male bovine’s behind daily!! Absolutely ridiculous! What adult with a college plus education would know the name of a minuscule unit of measure from six thousand years ago? I’d venture to say that Ken Jennings wouldn’t know! I’ve noticed a preponderance of Middle Eastern factoids as well. Why there?? I have a lot of dissatisfaction with this game! I’ve played over 870 levels and enjoy the concept but certainly not the ethics behind it. Wish I could find another similar word game.

I love it!. Hi am Seneca and I only have this game for a few months and I actually like it! I usually don’tRead or write, but this taught me to do it more. First of all, I love How this app sends you texts like, “Get 7-8 hours of sleep every night!” I like that part, and, I also like the challenges, because kind of like at my school, we get tougher challenges. It is called the advanced Learning Program But I Call it A.L.P. It’s basically when, kids are really good at their work, and they need a challenge. So I go to A.L.P, and I’m happier. And just like in school, get a challenge! So as I said I really love that program, which also means I love the challenges, which means... I love this game! I love this game !!!!. When I got this game it was the best it will take the world off of your plate kind going to explain like that a little!!!???!!! This game is the most relaxing game ever and I love it so much I am always so addicted to it!!! Don’t know why but if this is your last app or storage space you have I would prefer you getting this app or game what ever you want to call it . For examples that I had to do that I just wanted to sit in the corner and cry 😢 here are some reasons this game is so good I had to Clean bathrooms (4 bathrooms) Mine and hubbies and kids bedrooms Clean the dishes and put them up (whole sink full) Every body showers 🚿 Get supper ✅ Done And more that I can keep going with.... So I just got in the corner and sobbed and when I got done with that I took a break and I got in the hot tub and then I got in the pool (2 story house) and I put a tun of bath bombs in the hot tub and sat there and playing words with friends and then I wanted to play something else besides that game and I got on the App Store and I taped in relaxing games and this was the first thing that popped up and I 👀 looked at it and I saw that you connected the words and I love ❤️ stuff that u connect words and I got it I love it 😍! You need this app!

This game annoys me. **EDIT** I am now beyond ticked off at the developers of this game. Do they not have access to a dictionary on their internet? Why do they not accept perfectly good, NORMAL words that other apps do? Just… WHY? Yes. I did rant about this below, but as I am sitting here waiting some place and decided to play a game, and it tossed out so darn many everyday words I thought my eyes would cross, I had had it. I have played games where I had upwards of THIRTY extra words! I love word games… when they let you use words that YOU know are *real* and are in every dictionary or thesauruses l but the one the developers used to create this game. I’m tired of basically having a warning buzzer beep me and say “WRONG! THAT’S NOT A WORD!” when I know it darn well is. The other annoyance is when I put a word in and the game says “NOPE!” but later, after using points for clues… what word(s) should fill in those blanks but the ones I was told “NOPE!” about? Yeahhhhhh… you guessed it. Ticks me off every time, and it just happened so I’m doing this review… which I pretty much never do, but it’s the principle of the thing. All my other *word games* accept all “real words” and their plurals. This one does not. Why, I wonder? Feeling cranky, might delete.

Word Connect to keep your brain Connected. I have been playing this game daily for over a year now. I first gave it 5 stars it was great in the beginning! Now the developers have changed it not in a good way. A year ago you had things like a daily bonus that gave you say 80 to 999 points or hint coins. Today the daily challenge gives less than 200 coins. The cost for purchasing extra coins has become ridiculous. I stopped buying them long ago. Next, the on screen point scale for solving words and for daily challenges has never been what is shown. Now Irregardless of how large or difficult a word you guess, you will only receive 40 points The words have become so ridiculous and unheard of that even the apps internal dictionary can not find them. The word puzzle choices and daily selection simple started repeating over again from those a year ago in the beginning. For instance a word that is approved in the same puzzle last week is not not permitted on the same puzzle word selection this week. I would pay for new levels, new selections or word upgrades but I refuse to pay for challenge coins, I would not pay a developer to stop placing ads on a product. You guys had the best word game on the market. What happened?

Too hard, missing words, glitchy. I used to love this game and I’d play every morning to wake me up. Especially the daily challenges! It used to be so fun and relaxing. Lately it has lost so much appeal. The daily challenges have gotten so hard, with words I’ve never heard of and can’t find in any dictionary. Common words aren’t in there at all, and reporting missing words does nothing. I’ve had to report the words tire, eon, ail, anus, and so many others over and over again but they never get added. Do the developers even read them? Sometimes I’ll have to report a very common missing word 3-4 times in just one level! And the “words” in the challenges are so hard and obscure, it’s lost its appeal. We’ve pretty much given up. It didn’t use to be this way! Another significant glitch is that if you find a few words in a level but then need to put the game down to come back to it, you’ll find that the words you’ve already found have disappeared and you need to start over. It’s frustrating and I’m considering deleting the app altogether. Please get your act together so the game can be enjoyable again!

Terrible dictionary. The dictionary used for this puzzle is terrible. There are many common words that it often doesn’t accept, like roe, and wad, yet it often accepts slang terms like rad. What’s worse is that it’s inconsistent. In some puzzles it accepts these words, but in others it considers them to be misspellings and penalizes you. Sometimes it expects you to come up with plurals of nouns, but other times it counts them as misspellings. Then there are the completely bogus words that it expects you to come up with. When you ask for the meaning of the word, sometimes you get “oops, we couldn’t find this word in the dictionary”. The developers should get an electric shock every time this happens. Other times you get a definition like “past participle of xxx” which turns out to be wrong because the word has nonstandard conjugation. People have been complaining about this stuff for years and they don’t fix it. It’s frustrating and makes this game far less enjoyable than it would be otherwise.

Feeling frustrated😕 No more videos to earn coins?. You have Not responded to Me to help me rectify the problem? I am so frustrated. I love this game,but can no longer play? I even tried deleting it from my phone and hoping to download again and start over from level 1,but every time it puts me right back to level 1444 where I left off? The reason I’m frustrated is..because I purchased an Easter theme and apparently the purchase included taking away the ability to watch the video ads to earn coins? I had NO IDEA that was part of my purchase? Obviously I need to watch videos at this level to earn coins,so I can get hints to help me but I can’t? So the solution I had was to start from scratch at level 1,so I’d have the ads again,but everytime you take me back to level 1444 where I left off? Why can’t I start all over if I want to? I don’t understand your app? Please help me:( I’m so frustrated:( Most games “apps” give you the option to continue with the game you saved or start new but you don’t:(

Word doesn’t just use words. Although I enjoy the challenge of finding words from within an assortment of letters, I am not clear on what variety of English is being used. Sometimes it seems like US English, but other times it seems like it is a UK or other nations jargon, made up words based upon local culture. I have used lots of hints to discover that abbreviations, prefixes, and phonetic spellings. Another reviewer pointed out that even the application’s own dictionary cannot provide meanings for many of the words. A sound set of programming standards would require that definitions be added for any word for which there is no definition in the dictionary referenced by the application. Today I have started running into videos required for reviving free hints never actually provide a video that will load properly. I just see a black screen with a an arrow going in circles for over a minute or two. It is not true of all videos, but enough to be very frustrating.

LOVE it!!. Really addictive word game, challenging enough to keep you going for hours but not so hard you get frustrated. I am really enjoying this on the evenings before bedtime! Great way to unwind. I really love you can keep playing without buying stuff. You have to watch videos for coins but that's not a problem. Because they aren't trying to rip me off I will do an in app purchase or two to support them. Thank you for producing a fun game without the frustration of pay through nose to gain a level. Nothing makes me delete a game faster! I don't mind to pay some but most games charge ridiculous and give you very little for they charge. Like home scapes, they are the worst I have ever seen for that. Download it if you love words games . It's a 5 star download in my book!

Gone crazy with commercials. I have played this game for years and I understand advertising is a part of it to play for free but since around July 2023 they now have take a break ads right in the middle of game play for 10 gold coins. 10! Wow! I have 70,000 and have NEVER bought a single coin. These ads are every 5 minutes! I have given this game 5 stars and clicked love it every time they asked which is dozens of times but these new ads are ridiculous. Put them in the front or put them in the back but not right in the middle of a game! As soon as one pops up in the middle I immediately leave the game so they are actually showing less and I’m not really playing much anymore. I’ll update this when and if the mid ads are ever gone. *** I just read multiple reviews from many people saying the exact same thing as me who are irritated by the mid game ads and this is to them. If you’re that upset about the ads you don’t just drop from 5 stars down to 4 if you are that dissatisfied, you have go down to at least 3 or lower or it’s not worth mentioning.

Just a few suggestions. I’ve been playing this game for years, and overall I really like it. There are only a few things that annoy me. Some of the words are not really words. If you are going to have nonsense words, you shouldn’t admit “sorry - can’t find this word in our dictionary”. Also, the number of ads will drive you absolutely insane unless you’re willing to pay the fee to stop them - which I eventually did because I wanted to keep playing but it was not an option to put up with ads after every game. I guess that’s the whole point - wear you down until you’re willing to pay to make it stop. And, last is the paper airplane hints. What’s the point of collecting them only to have them used up when you don’t need hints? I would play a lot more if I could regulate when the hints are used and not have them automatically fill in letters when I don’t want them.

Okay game - would be great with some improvements. There are many words that can be found in every American dictionary that are not recognized by the game, which is very frustrating. I would love to see an addition to the game that allows you to pull up a definition for the words. For example, if you enter a word but just can’t quite remember its meaning - just that it is a word- this game could turn into a learning experience if you allowed us to click on a word we have entered and get a short definition. Today when I opened up the game I received a notice that a newer version had been detected and asked if I wanted the game updated. I answered positively and was transferred to this site. There was no place to click on a button to update - just to open. When I chose “open” it brought me back to the same page asking if I wanted to update. Round and round I went until I declined the offer to update. If there is indeed an updated or new version, I can’t figure out how to access it!

Great game - needs some few fixes. My 5 yr old granddaughter (who reads at 6th grade level) begged to get this game, so I gladly got it for her. Sometimes the game doesn't allow the simplest of words, yet allows some slang and abbreviations! I have had to show my granddaughter several times in the dictionary that she has indeed spelled words correctly but the game just doesn't recognize them. In the daily challenge when you can watch an ad for "extra" coins, sometimes you have to watch several to get back to the game and if you just hit continue, you still have to watch the same ad. Also an ad that says it's 30 seconds long takes over a minute to watch, (I have timed it), the countdown is from 30 down but it is longer than a second between numbers. Both my granddaughter and I enjoy playing

It’s ok. The game itself is a blast, but the programming is awful. There are a lot of words that come up that aren’t even in their own dictionary. Also, when you gat a group of letters like S-O-U-D, and such a common word as “sod” does not even count as a bonus word, something is off. I have seen several letter groupings that need maybe 4 or 5 4-letter words, and when I put in 12 or 15, but none of them are what the puzzle is looking for, but maybe only 2 or 3 of them are bonus words? I see the words “Imam” and “Alla” come up a lot, but in the dozens of times I have tried to use “Laic”, it has only been recognized once. I have yet to see “apse” as recognized word. Does the developer have something against Christianity? And what about words like “rhodic” (having the properties of or looking like rhodium)? If you are not a chemist, geologist or jeweler, who the heck knows what that is? I’d bet most people don’t even know what rhodium is (an elemental metal).

Back to back long ads, pressure to buy, fishy agreement screen. At one point, Ads were so frequent; and took so long, that I couldn’t even remember what game I was playing. Finally, I realized that it was this new word game app that I downloaded. It had made me agree to something in order to play, but there wasn’t a link to read it. I’m still on the basic and boring early levels. I played the next screen and the game went right back to super long ads again. There was a new screen in-game offering a discount for no ads, with a countdown feature for pressure. The game was ok, not unlike a lot of games, though. IMO - Not worth becoming an ad slave just by staying long enough to see if you even like it at all. To Whomever released this version (I saw so many versions of this game while trying to get back here), it’s not good for reputation to exploit people to the point of exasperation. Stop and think. Now I’ve given twice as much time as your ads in order to warn the next person. 👍. Thank you 🙏

Word Challenge. This is the best of the Word games I especially appreciate the challenges; however 3 days for 1500 points - i wish you would win the points you earn. I also wish you would have one & 2 day challenges instead of 3 day. There is also a bug that is really annoying. For example some words that you know are words - it won’t count as a word. But later the same word Does count as a word. It is also annoying that the daily challenge frequently won’t let you put in words you know are words. It seems we can’t just make words with those letters but we need to make the specific words you set. It is frustrating. I also feel it is unfair to not give points after do many boards you have completed because you say I have completed them all. Yet you still offer me the boards: it isn’t fair diring the big challenges that some are given ongoing additional points as they solve the set of boards & those who play alot Don’t get that

Fun but frustrating with so many words not in database.. While I admit this is fun and helps to fill time it is also frustrating in that it took considerable time to add levels once I had exhausted those originally available. The other point of frustration is the lack of so many words that you would think should absolutely be in their database an example of this just happened this morning and I had letters that I needed to use to form words from and you receive points for doing so and while the letters N, R & U were a few of the letters that were available the word URN was not a valid answer. I did quit playing for some time since at one point you could watch advertisements to receive clues or you could use earned points to receive a clue but I quit when neither of these options were available and grew weary of not being able to move forward at all. Started playing again this morning since normally around the holidays they seem to be a bit better and have different events or contests that keep your interest.

The ads are nothing compared to this coolness! You can easily cancel them or change it to no adds in one tap! It will make you smart and entertained all night! This is the game all of us are waiting for and OMG this is amazing! Even the hardest of questions only last a few minutes to complete! Any smarty pants who loves reading, writing, trivia and earning prizes, this is your game! Now, if you are ready, BUY THIS TODAY!!!! Good Idea, but needs work!. I enjoy this game, but I'm frustrated by the word list. They claim to allow you to select and play different versions. I selected American, but find many simple words that are not on the word list (you supposedly get points when you find extra words). An example of a word the game does not accept is odor. Another not considered a word is tire. Some of the acceptable words are proper names. Very little consistency. I sometimes need to find a word randomly or by using hints (which they make money on) and each of those words, when I look them up in "The Free Dictionary" app, is listed as British yet I'm supposed to be playing the American English version. Why offer those options if you aren't going to follow them? I wrote the creators 3 times, but have never been afforded the courtesy of a response. No improvement months later. Very disappointing. Because they obviously don’t know American English, they shouldn’t offer it as an option. They claim to be working on it, but there’s been no improvement in 6 months! “Nous” and “anion” American words? How about zairian?! “Kerb”. A word in the American version. I KEEP WAITING FOR IT TO IMPROVE! STILL WAITING. Just had WRYING on level 1485. It’s not in any of the 3 dictionaries I have!

Very frustrating. Third review: totally frustrated with the spelling accuracy. Had five common words that were not allowed, when I finally stumbled on the word that worked, it wasn’t in their or any dictionary I could find. I guess you get what you pay for. Obviously, the developers don’t read or care about these reviews. Update: spelling in this app is getting worse and worse. Simple words like bing are not recognized and about half the words that I have not heard if are not even in the app dictionary. Gotta wonder when a game spells a word that it cant even find in its own dictionary. This app is very inconsistent in spelling accuracy, legitimate words and especially plurals. The letter patterns repeat frequently, but words that worked one time don’t work the next. I appreciate the dictionary feature, which allows me to learn new words, but often times the words required to solve a level are not even in the dictionary. The app shows an option to provide feedback, but doesn’t allow because no email address is supposedly available and there is no option to configure an email address. I thought the feedback option for missing words would be helpful, but from all appearances, you enter the words and they just disappear or are ignored

Maybe good for kids. This might be good for kids learning to read, but this was not, as advertised, a “brain training game.” It was more of a brain draining game... It was mind-numbingly easy and overly-reliant on cheap tricks, such as flattering me with rainbow-framed phrases like “Excellent!” and “Awesome!” for spelling C-A-T and I-T and A-T. And just when I was about to exit and delete the app, they reeled me back in by congratulating me on spelling “Bonus words,” which were in fact no more difficult than the other words. But it did make me feel special enough to keep going. At this point my boyfriend started watching over my shoulder. After a few seconds he observed, “Um, I don’t think this game is worthy of your intellect.” (He has a PhD in English.) I realized he was right and I was grateful that he was there to save me from what was fast becoming a cycle of addiction. But then just when I had agreed to stop, he took the phone from my hands and...started playing this game himself!!! I don’t know how we managed to escape. But we did...and right before we did, we were assaulted with a life-like animated ad of a woman’s fingernail being clipped down to the flesh! I threw the phone away from me. My boyfriend said it was an advertisement for some other game, about doing your nails? I don’t know.

This game is great and challenging.. Hello my name is Lagina Wooding. I enjoyed this game so much. It was hard even though I’m college educated. It kept me thinking critically all the time. I have to thank my late grandmother Florence Martha Baltimore McGuffin and my uncle Henderson Eugene Hall and his children Fernandus, Patrick, Shawn and Marilyn Hall for all their support. Bothersome. I’ve been playing this game for a long time- too long based on what I think of it. First, it uses some strange dictionary that allows obscure (unknown?) words like “tur” but doesn’t allow words “freer”. In many instances I’ve found I can use the plural of a word but not the singular (e.g., “gins” but never “gin”). Some games allow certain words but then the next one doesn’t allow those same words. This means that every time I play a game I have to go through the whole list of possible words but then turns out very few are allowed in that particular game. A monumental waste of time!! Sometimes I finish a round, go on to the next, but find it’s a repeat of the one I just played. If not that, at times it’s repeated just 2 or 3 games later. AND lately there’s an ad after every daily challenge game and just more ads in general. They’re obnoxiously loud without any way to turn the volume down or off. Why do I keep playing? Goal-reach 1M points then I drop unless some dramatic improvements are made.

Disappointed, not as advertised. If the game that downloaded for me is what someone is looking for, then it’s a nice job of it, thus my middle-mark rating. But I downloaded this game from seeing an ad in another game... I’m on level 30 and still haven’t seen anything at all like what interested me from the ad. I’ve looked all over, and I don’t even have that orange puzzle option icon on Home screen (the pic shown in the App Store here has it, but it’s not on my game). I even saw the same ad for itself while playing this game, so I tried clicking to install, thinking maybe I somehow got the wrong version... nope, it said I already had the game from the ad. I’ve also already checked for updates and there are none. I wanted to play the scrolling word hunt game from the ad. Instead, I only have another version of a game I already had. Maybe puzzle modes unlock at some higher level?? If so, it should be mentioned, as I’m not interested in playing on and on hoping that maybe the next level will finally get me into the game I thought I downloaded. Again, nice execution for a simple Boggle-type word making game, if that is what you are after. I’m just still looking for the fun, but different, scrolling word search game I saw advertised.

Fun game, but has its flaws. It is fun and addicting. Well worth paying to remove the ads. However, the levels are often recycled, just with different word lengths to find. It can be difficult to trace the letters and I often find that one of the letters of a word I was trying to make has dropped off or an extra letter has been selected because they were too close together. It would be nice to have a “tap to select” option. I’ve seen many reviews that are frustrated about common words not being accepted in one level and acceptable in another. Yes, this is annoying. Especially when it is totally inconsistent about plural words. But for me the most annoying part is the constant pestering to turn on notifications. I have them turned off on almost all of my apps. That is how I want it. I have it turned off for this app both in device settings and in game settings, yet every day after playing the daily challenge it asks yet again if I want to turn on notifications! There really needs to be a “stop asking me” option here.

Not what I was showed. I clicked on an ad for a word game that looked pretty cool. Once the game downloaded, the actual playing board seemed kind of 3rd rate but I thought, well maybe I just need to level up to find the game I saw in the ad. I’m on level 441 and it’s still the same boring board. Sure, you can change to cheesier letters, and if you want to pay for a cool background you can, but it’s a nothing special game that I wouldn’t pay money for. There’s a lot of words in the challenges that don’t make sense, and when you look them up, they’re the French or another language word for something. Then when you put in a simple English word like sty or aid, they’re not legit words according to the game. They do have a place you can send words, but after months of sending words and sometimes the same words over and over, they’re still not added on... I finally decided to leave a review because I am getting tired of being asked if I want to, and even though I’ve pushed the “not having fun” button lots of times I still get asked if I’m having fun or not. Maybe this way the creators will finally get an idea of just how mediocre this game really is. And, why am I still playing you might ask..? This game is basically a mindless kill time while I wait for my other games to recharge energy or for my crops to grow... that’s about all I get out of it...

Hard but AMAZING!!!. I just got this and it was so cool it’s a little hard but it’s fun! It was like #Amazing.#IHopeEveryoneTakesTimeToGetThisApp. My sister, and my mom and I have this app my dad doesn’t that’s all right, he should join in the fun. I am very satisfied user.I gave it five stars because it’s amazing. Good game. I have played this game for a couple of years and I enjoy it. In fact I actually finished all the cross word levels. Keep hoping they will add more levels. I do enjoy playing but I do have several things that I wish would change. One thing is that I think you should earn coins for each level that you play. It doesn’t have to be a huge payout but it’s a bit disappointing when you finish 7 levels of approximately 6+ words per level and you only get 30 coins? I get more coins doing the daily level than doing the regular levels. In fact for a long time I only did the daily levels just to collect coins. Another thing, 120 coins for a letter? That’s a bit much. Also I agree with others that have posted about words that are in no dictionary I have available. There are many words that I don’t have a clue what they are included and then there are everyday words that the game won’t accept. I plan on continuing playing the game as I enjoy the challenge. Just throw us players a little love now & again

Word game. I’ve given this three stars due to the fact that I downloaded this game from an advertisement that displayed a fill in the blank format with the correct word. This game doesn’t have anything like that, however I do like the game and will keep it until I’m bored with the same old,same old. I really wish developers would be a bit more forthcoming and transparent with their advertisement instead of bate and switch! In addition, I’m adding that there are entirely too many advertisements even for this free version. I generally do pick up new games from adds, however the overly excessive advertising is beginning to wear on my enjoyment of this game. Perhaps tuning down the adds to one per ten games played in succession and at least have different adds than the same ones repeatedly.

Okay but ..... Has lots of bugs as sometimes get the white screen of death when an ad doesn’t load. Acceptable words change from level to level although “died” never seems to make the list. Found that the common English word “jongg” is one of the answers. Plurals of words are sometimes allowed but not others. Abbreviations are often answers e.g. ism. Since answers are in alphabetical order (by size) and the words are obscure (or English spelling or some Chinese word) it is often a logic puzzle as much as a vocabulary test. Overall it is somewhat entertaining IF you want to play a logic game as much as a vocabulary test. Latest is that ads control sound so don’t play when others are expecting quiet. Ads override game settings and quiet button. And the PayPal ad has totally broken the game. Ad runs until phone is restarted or for 15+ minutes which runs down the battery. Then the audio runs in the middle of the game, sometimes multiple times. At level 9500 but unfortunately the game is too broken to continue.

Addictive but..... Love playing this game. However, At higher levels (after 1000) - there are words expected by the game that are not in any dictionary - and the compilers do not allow many ordinary words that are allowed in for instance, Scrabble. Sometimes proper nouns are allowed, sometimes not, even if the noun has become common parlance ( don’t expect that allowed in the game either!) And if I choose such a word, Such as “ley” one no longer gets the credit for it as a bonus, even if in the last iteration of the game one credit for. Suggest use the Oxford English Dictionary as the standard. Also at higher levels or the longer I play in a day, the longer the ads become, AND ads are inserted between parts of levels. Irritating. Please consider finding another ad replacement for Matchington Mansion, which is offensive to some.

Inconsistent. I admit, I really like the game, but it really isn’t consistent about the words it allows. I was on a level where the letters were DISTILL. One of the four letter words was SILD, a very obscure word, yet it disallowed TILL, SILL, and DILL- all common words. On the next level, I’d didn’t.m recognize words like LET, TEE, PELT, and PEEL- even as bonus words. I give it 2.5 stars. If this continues, I’ll probably delete the game. I’ll amend my review if this gets fixed. I’m amending that review because the glitch seems to be on just a few levels. There are still actual words if doesn’t recognize, but I can live with that. Second amendment to my review- since when are AM, ME, AN not two letter words?? This game is fun, but extremely frustrating. Words may be counted on one level as bonus words, but are disallowed on others. Please fix.

So close but so frustrating. The sad part is that this has the potential to be a really good game. The basic idea is smart, and they have done a lot of good work coming up with different variations of play so that it stays interesting. But the game is borderline unplayable because of the ridiculous inconsistency in which words it will accept as legitimate. It’s bad enough that the game cannot decide from level to level whether plurals or past tense of words are acceptable. But what makes the game really unplayable is that so many legitimate words will not be accepted by one level, but then on the very next level those words are the ones that you are supposed to choose in order to advance. I don’t know if this is some sort of coding incompetence on the part of the game designers, or if it is supposed to be some clever aspect of gameplay, but regardless of what the explanation is, it stops me from playing this game every single day. I will play it for a while and then get to the point where I can no longer stand to have legitimate words rejected all the time. I’m sure the developers don’t read these reviews, but if you work for this company and you’re reading this, fix your damned game.

Pros & Cons. PROS: I love this game. I’ve had it since it first came about. I’ve played it so much that I run out of new levels each time and have to wait for the next update to get more levels. I like the contests and challenges. This game is fun, and keeps your mind active in a good way. Once you get used to odd words (this game is global, after all), it is addictive. CONS: it won’t accept some words that work in the spots. I’ve had it reject 3 viable words in a single round, same letter amount. Spelling was correct. And on the weekend challenge (Friday night through Sunday night)…. I swear some weeks it is rigged. Like now. I was really working on it. I was in first place, & was 1,500 points ahead of the next player. In 10 minutes’ time, the player behind me was 300 points Ahead of me? Impossible. They would have had to gain 1,800 points in Ten minutes! That is not possible. If we are all playing the same challenge with the same words on the same levels, it just isn’t possible for a person to go that fast. That is why I am giving only 4 stars instead of 5. Great game, and I’m a good sport. But they need to at least make the contest believable.

Good but many ads. It’s a great concept and really teaches me new words. For example, once I was searching for some words in the daily challenge and could only find a few, so I started trying to find a word by doing different combinations, and I discovered that umma is a word. It’s also great that, if you don’t understand a word you put, you can tap it and the meaning comes up. (If you finish the level/challenge and the last word doesn’t make sense, on the top right corner you can see an ‘Aa’ button, and if you press it, all the meanings of all the words you put come up.) Unfortunately, there are a lot of ads included. After I finished a level, it always gave me a commercial I had to watch, and that’s a bummer. Also, sometimes it didn’t accept my words (which are real ones) in the daily challenge! I don’t know why this happens, though. But I think other than that it’s very fun and I recommend it.

Inconsistent. This could be a 5-Star game but there is too much inconsistency in what kinds of words are and are not allowed. For example, sometimes plurals are allowed and other times the same plural is not allowed. Sometimes the singular form is not allowed but the plural of the same word is allowed. Also, bonus words are inconsistent and it seems that randomly, words won’t work as bonus words. The biggest frustration however, is that there are words in the puzzles that do not have a definition ...when trying to see the definition of a word (after solving the word), the puzzle dictionary gives a message that no definition could be found ...how can the puzzle accept a word that has no definition? All of that being said ...the puzzle is great for challenging your mind and word puzzle-solving skills. I play it every day and enjoy the tournaments each week.

Disappointing but addictive. The game structure is effective and entertaining. The puzzles are poorly made and there is no consistency. I’m nearly at level 2000 and the games have gotten easier - it’s not a game that keeps challenging as you go up. Puzzle difficulty is all over the place. Some words are accepted as bonus words sometimes but not always. Some pretty basic words are never accepted. Mostly plurals are not accepted but then suddenly they might be. Not infrequently words appear to be made up or spelled incorrectly. The game dictionary will even say oops we don’t have a meaning for that when Ive checked. These consistent inconsistencies are infuriating. Sometimes Latin words are accepted, sometimes not. Occasionally Spanish words are accepted but mostly not. Sometimes place names at other times not. Often you’ll have a very easy puzzle and then a rare word such as the Latin genus for an animal is required! Abbreviations are frenquently accepted. It feels like a non-English speaking computer has compiled the puzzles. English is such a rich language. The game should have a set structure and more scholarly scope.

Misleading ad caused me to download this game. I was really excited to download this game based on an ad I saw. I clicked on the ad and said download and viola got this game. IT IS NOT AT ALL what the ad was advertising. Why mislead the public like that? What do you get out of it other than bad reviews? I guess it is my fault for not reading up on the app before downloading it but I figured if I was following the link in the ad itself, how could I go wrong? Boy, did I learn my lesson. That all being said, this game does do what it says it will do when you read the description in the App Store. I stuck with it for many months and lots of levels, in fact I am still playing it. I had hopes that maybe there were mini-games hidden somewhere that did what I saw in the ads so I played and played, but alas, there are not. So I am disappointed about the false advertising. If there was a way to tell Apple about this, I would. But the game itself is a good game if you can buy off on some of the words that they say are words and works well, it is not overly loaded with ads itself and flows smoothly.

Great game but needs some serious updating. This is a fun game and challenging at times, especially as you get in the higher levels. However, the dictionary needs some serious updating, they have words that I’ve never heard of, foreign terms and recently, frequently if you look to seem what the “definition”is and I do look them up, the dictionary can’t even tell you the meaning. Then at the same time it will not accept common words that everyone knows. My other complaint is that even though I have the paid subscription, many times my coins are not doubled as they are supposed to be, especially when I hit 111 on the daily. Finally you don’t always get the coins for spelling three levels with no mistakes. Again, as you go up in levels, these annoyances seem to become more prominent and frequent. Debating as to whether I want to continue with the game. I sure these are read by the developers so I doubt if I will be contacted or things will change. To bad, the game has been fun but is becoming more and more frustrating.

Watch your airplanes. I’ve been playing this game for a while and my previous review said that in general it’s pretty good. Well, just discovered that they purposely don’t add on your airplanes- I can’t believe it took me this long to notice!! I should have realized it earlier! Let me explain- a pop up comes on after “you’ve earned a reward”, the reward is hints for the words in the next puzzle- you have to watch a video to get it. Completely separately are challenges that you try to win. Here is the kicker, you’re playing these challenges and earn 6 airplanes here, 8 there, 3 here, 4 there...they’re supposed to add up, yes? Nope. I’ve been keeping tabs on my challenge winnings and guess what? They aren’t adding them. I must be missing over 200 airplanes or so! Cheap, cheating and dreadful! I literally watched as I won 14 airplanes and instead of my airplane count going up, I went down. It’s crap!

Game is no longer fair. I liked the Daily challenges and the premise of the two games is fun, but lately, the game has been no fun. There are many legitimate words that are not on the list, that means on the Daily challenge, they do not count and it makes it difficult to fiind enough words to meet the challenge goal. Too often, the words needed to clear a board on the regular game play are obscure or non-existent. I can check on multiple anagram apps and find no words that satisfy the board. I’m left with using my hints and that is no fun. If they were legitimate words, it wouldn’t be bad, but these are nonexistent words! Sometimes a proper noun is being used - that’s not fair. I used to start my day with this game’s daily challenge and play a few rounds, I’m stuck on a round with a 5-letter word that doesn’t exist on any dictionary apps - very frustrating!

Great game but I want to tell you all about my opinion. Amazing and I love how it teaches you stuff even if you know some rare words already and I love how it teaches your friends and family words too. Also, you make learning fun and that’s amazing and you make people happy and that’s good for your Health. And I love all the color in the game it’s so positive! Misled & Disappointed. I have seen the ad for this game numerous times while playing other apps-it looked like a fun word search game, so I decided to download it from the ad. I was looking forward to a different type of word game, but I was disappointed-it’s not a word search at all. It’s just like the game Word Cookie (which I already have and enjoy). I played several levels to see if a word search-like level came up, but I didn’t see one. I suppose I should have previewed Word Connect in the App Store first. In fact, another app ad car up while I was playing this app that looked much like that of Word Connect. This time I DID look it up in the App Store first, but it was the same situation all over again! These app ads are very misleading not what their ads portray at all. Is this misrepresentation a big deal in the grand scheme of things? No. However, why mislead your audience with one ad when an ad for the real app would’ve sufficed? There are so many app developers out there that copy/rip off other apps for themselves. The only reason I gave it a second star is because if you’re looking for a game such as Word Cookie, Word Connect is a fun alternative. Yet, if you’re looking for a word search like the ad implies, this isn’t it.

It’s okay for me. The game keeps me occupied when I need a distraction. It does however need a few ‘bugs’ worked out and changes that I would make were it my game to change. It’s very annoying when you have tried a word several times already that don’t seem to be correct but when you decide once more because your brain dead and out of options...it’s the very word that works. That’s the ‘bug’ or glitch that I was referring to. As for the changes; either change the daily challenge where it states you can or will win a huge bonus. It’s small and limited. Why state a point system for the length of each word on the daily bonus? You don’t receive said points for those words, you only receive 10/20 points. It’s a disappointment and misleading. Why bother to strive for the best points when the lesser counts as the same? Now, I understand that this game is for ages 4 and up so the review that I read complaining about it not being challenging enough, just find something else and move on. Not everyone is going to at the same levels. However, I played long enough that the game did ask if I was ready for more challenging puzzles. I’m an intelligent person who now has some issues with losing words as I am speaking. I can’t remember even what to say when trying to talk about the sofa so I’ll just explain what I’m talking about until my brain finds the word sofa again.( just an example) so this new chapter is great and hopefully helping me.

Frustrating game. I have written this company over and over concerning my issues with words not allowed and then very obscure words not used in American English. I never get a reply other than to "keep it updated", which I do without seeing much change. One word in particular is "DOES". It seems that the word is ALWAYS considered the plural of "DOE" not the singular form of the word "DO", a fact I've explained with examples over and over. My friend has been amused by the fact that I continue to play this game when I get so frustrated. I'm on level 2245 with over 200,000 coins so I'm not a novice at this. At one point in the past year I deleted the game and like another review I thought it would start back at level 1, but it didn't and took me back to the level I was at. If things don't change soon, I'm going to delete this game and NOT reinstall it and will let others of my Facebook friends know how frustrating it is.

I used to LOVE this game BUT....,. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!!! They decided recently to add commercials that pop up randomly in the MIDDLE OF YOUR GAME! They are LONG, and they PLAY OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, and you cannot get back to the game to finish the puzzle you were on, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!! They will probably offer their loyal and devoted gamers a commercial-free “upgrade” for a SUBSTANTIAL FEE, but I’ve been playing for years without commercials with no “fee” and I LIKE IT THAT WAY. They already charge *outrageously high fees* to buy extra coins you can use to buy letters when you get stuck on words. If they didn’t charge so terribly much to buy the extra coins to get in-game hints, I might buy those more often. The cost of those extra coins tells me that what they will probably charge for their “commercial free upgrade” will be FAR MORE than I’m willing to pay, and I will delete Word Connect and go back to playing one of my many other word games (like Whirly Word). TO THE DEVELOPERS: PLEASE DROP THIS RIDICULOUS PLAN TO ADD COMMERCIALS WITHIN THIS ENJOYABLE GAME!!!! You are about to RUIN a wonderful game/app that I both play by myself and share with friends!! It was a lot better - now ????. Before the upgrade it was much better. More coins were given when finishing puzzles now you get 20. WOW! It takes to long to get the bonus daily puzzles, actually how many puzzles do you need to finish before it gives you the option to play those bonus daily puzzles. Miss a few days and wow. Also you should be able to go back to the previous month and do those daily puzzle bonuses.

Absorbing and intellectually challenging. This game gets you in - and for good reason. It’s not a game of chance! You are entertained simply because you are engaged with the puzzle and because the puzzle centres on the words we use in our everyday lives. It’s great. And just a little bit addictive.😇😇😇

Not like advert. Downloaded after the advert showed the game to be one where your grammar is tested. For example: you’re shown a sentence with a missing word then you have to select from a few words which it could be, like “there”, “their” or “they’re”. They all sound the same so this is a check on your grammar. Downloaded the game expecting challenges like this but it was not like that at all. The game is just a test to see how many words you can make from a list of letters. I played a few levels thinking what I’d seen in the advert might be a special round every so often but didn’t see it either.

It’s good but it is bad. When I get the chest by doing the 6 steps the chest only gives u $10 and I really hate that because you work so hard to do the words and that can get really frustrating and plus when u need a hint u have to give $120 therefore in other games u only have to give $10 or $20 dollars (game money) and I get that sometimes the game is meant to be hard but when u really need help and you don’t have enough money you have to ask someone and what if they don’t know so what I’m trying to say is that they should change the chest money that I get more than $10 and that to give a hint the price will be cheaper

Ads are intrusive. I loved this game but the ads now are so intrusive, even when linking letters to create a word ads will pop up. Ads pop up after every second word, ads pop up at end of level, ads pop up in daily challenge. Even when viewing 5 ads to eliminate for 24 hours you can watch 10 ads and it only registers 1. I have reinstalled and reinstalled according the the developers and still no luck. The extra word now doesn’t even make sense. So not sure what dictionary they are using. So for me it is now an uninstall and try another word game. Sorry.

Love the game but. The latest update is featuring longer advertisements before I’m able to get back to the game. I’m not spending money to stop the ads and I’ll quickly get sick of the longer ads, especially bad because it is promoting gambling. I can see myself uninstalling this game in the near future because of adverts even though it is a great game.

Really addictive.. Look forward to relaxing and getting the mind working at the same time. I’m an oldie, haven’t heard of lots of these words. Really interesting words sometimes. I’m not a scrabble player, but this would help my word vocabulary. Thanks for the chance to learn.

Great fun. It is a great game. However, there are a few little things that bug me. Annoying that common words are ignored but slang accepted. It also chooses when to accept plurals and when not to. Don’t spend real money. If you can’t figure out the word you need, wait and log in each day and use the bonus coins that gives you, to buy the next letter in a word you need. Another tip is to just try all sorts of letter combinations. You might hit the right one, or you might suddenly have the right word pop into your head, just by experimenting with letter combinations.

Terrible ads, great game. Argh! The ads! I get why a game must have ads, but across the bottom of the screen AND between every level makes the game unbearable. Many of the ads don't have an option to close them so the only way to continue the game is to close it down and restart. Will be uninstalling and not playing any further - have spent more time waiting for ads and restarting the game than I have spent playing the game.

Addictive but frustrating. I love this game and find it a real challenge but do get frustrated when common words are ignored and obvious slang/colloquialisms are allowed. In particular, there seems to be a problem getting points from chapter rewards once you have reached a certain level (I’m at about 1300) and haven’t been able to collect at least 2000 points that have been drawn. Don’t have any way within the game to contact support without complaining in a very public review. A year later and with my worthless score at around 28,000, my earlier comments are still relevant. I know this comes out of America but the amount of US-specific slang and abbreviations is frustrating and sometimes words that I have to make up just to get through a daily challenge are, when looked up in the dictionary, not found. The feedback page to report misspelt words has been hidden behind everything (you’d almost think they were avoiding you...).

Fun game. I love this game. It’s a quick little game that works on my cognitive skills. I don’t seem to have the same problem as others when it comes to ads, but I have found that randomly there will be a round here and there in the crossword section that will be in another language (Spanish mainly). So I have to try and figure out what the words are by what combination makes sense. It takes time and it’s not a whole lot fun blindly guessing words.

Frustration. Intrusive ads are very annoying, especially the toy crunch ad that doesn’t give you the exit tab, it just takes over and forces you to watch.....after every level. When you just want to get on with the game it’s very infuriating!I have uninstalled this game because of this. Furthermore, some words are uniquely in the American English vernacular, and can be quite frustrating to find if you live anywhere else. Otherwise a fun game if you don’t mind the advertising bombardment and the same ad for days on end

Awesome playing. I have to say my knowledge of New words is always increasing and are useful if playing Words with Friends another game I’m enjoying with over 45 Games with all of my New Friends who I’m always being stretched to learn new words I use Word Connect to expand y knowledge of acceptable words to use when playing Wors with Friend where I play with many new friends I’ve made around the world

Word connect.. Absolutely love this game and spend hours playing. I live in Australia and some of the words have me stumped at times. The only complaint I have would be that it cost 120 coins to reveal a letter. It would be better if it were less coins per letter.

Too many ads. The actual game is fun but there are just waaayyy too many ads, like after every single levels you play even in the daily challenges between each level & sometimes they’re 30 second ones so a bit time wasting & I end up just shutting the app down & re-opening to get rid of the ad.

Word Connect. First thing I do in the morning to get my brain activated is play. Sometimes I get frustrated that it doesn’t recognise on the extra word list legitimate words, but it is increasing my vocabulary with the words I have never heard of & look up the dictionary component which I find very helpful. There also seems to be a problem with my daily bonus which doesn’t get added to my total. Just stays the same so I choose to collect by doing the daily bonuses which is fine. Thanks good way to start the day 😊

Word. Good exercise for the brain and vocabulary. Understand that the game is funded by advertisements, however, same ad playing too many times making the game boring. It would be good to have an option of selecting a new ad. There appears to be more system glitches toward higher levels. This game consumes more battery power too. Overall, a great word game!

Fantastic, but needs less ads. This is a great opportunity to train your brain and have fun at the same time! However, there are ads that are just gobbledegook! I’m not a fan of ads! But in word connect, you can do the daily challenge and soon even Crosswords!

Review. Some words and spelling are almost alien and don’t exist. I’m in Australia and our spelling of some (most) words are spelt differently. Despite that I play this for hours daily, self isolation and boredom. A lot of other similar games I play are played to the end of their limit. Still give it 5 stars.

Privacy. Read the privacy policy. At least they warn you that if you don’t agree to their terms, that you shouldn’t accept and use their product. Thanks for the heads up. Delete. When you change your policy to not use all my data from of social media sites, I’d really like the use your product for what it is, a game.

Great word game. I play this game every day; it keeps my mental powers working. However, you need to update your dictionary, as many common words are ignored. That makes it more difficult to find words that may not be in my dictionary. This in turn, can lead to some frustration. I don’t need that. Edit: July, 2023. Lately there have been far too many ads than is necessary. Every ten seconds there is a 30 second ad. I am disgusted, and get very frustrated when playing the game. Reduced to 3 stars.

Sometimes challenging but Annoying. It’s quite good to play with a bit of spare time. I find it repeats a lot of the words, sometimes wonder if I repeated the level! Doesn’t recognise a lot of words that I know are real, especially Aussie words, then will accept a random word I can’t find I realise it’s from US. Also frustrated with all the ads, especially as they seem to be getting longer. I simply don’t watch them, then after a few I just stop playing.

Cookie Jam ad taken over 😡. Great game but there are more and more ads that don’t want to go. An ad for Cookie Jam appeared this morning and it took more that a minute for the exit cross to appear, have since pressed the exit approx 20 times and it still won’t go. The game is good but the frustration is not worth it. Daily user now uninstalling. Update 30th Dec 2018. - I spend too much time waiting for long winded ads to finish......uninstalling. Pity because it is a good concept. Not prepared to pay a “rental” to get rid of ads....ridiculous.

Super Addictive! Been Playing for 5 years. I’ve been playing this game for 5 years now. Mainly just before bed at night or waiting for an appointment. But it’s really entertaining and doesn’t have glitches often. Highly recommend

Greatness about this game. This game helps with knowledge of words and skills. You can also learn a lot of new words too. It is also really good fun to me and I love playing it. Disappointing. Third review. The word HEN doesn’t exist nor does MEN or STY. Which dictionary do you guys use. What a joke. I’m now writing a new review. Why do you show all the positives and not the negative reviews? I’d like to know why certain words are not on your site but other words that I think you make up are? Eg: the word “hen” is wrong and doesn’t exist. And I have done this word on two different games. I mean really? What on earth lays eggs for your breakfast? The rooster? Or doesn’t that word exist as well? It is disappointing that the whole game has changed now. The words aren’t in order anymore. Makes it harder for me maybe not for everyone else. It was more fun the original way. I know this review probably won’t even be acknowledged. So thanks for the memories. Do these reviews get read? I can’t be the only one that has noticed this change of not being in order and would like it back to the original way.

A good way to start each day. I find the amount of advertising annoying. It’s also a little frustrating when commonly used words are not recognised, yet slang is. I do enjoy the daily challenge. Perhaps points accrued could be used to cease advertising?

Word connect. The game is good, but the ads are sooo annoying! There are more ads than games! Even when there is a special 24 hours ad free, the ads keep coming, and the same ads over and over again! And so many common words are left out, and weird words that I have never heard of are there. But constant ads are the worst. They say you have won a reward, but when you click it, you get yet another advert!

Fun! Fun!. This is a awesome word game! Word connect is addictive and is great for school age children. Keeps your brain active in creating words and great for spelling. I love the daily challenges which give you coins, which is handy to use on words that can be hard to guess. Especially only for the first letter. Thank you for creating a fun game and I love how you can change the themes.

Greedy. 2 phones, 23,000 levels. Everything good about this game has disappeared. Ads popping up between words or during, sometimes even one word, one ad, means losing concentration. W360 to the left side of screen for hints after bonus words now pops up as “pay us”. Daily challenge is no longer counted towards levels. It’s so bad that there’s only one person left playing on my team, me. You are disappointing, to say the least and to say more would mean swearing.

Fun Game but Disappointing Scam. I have really enjoyed this game to the point that weeks ago I paid to remove ads from popping up every few minutes. However, on trying to log into the game today I was fronted with a 'request' to allow advertising in the game. The worst of it was that it won't let me get into the game unless I select Allow, which I haven't done. I'm hoping that this is an accident by the developers, but if not then it can only be a scam that once you have paid for ads to be removed it then later forces you to reinstate ads. I hope it will be remedied but until then I will stop playing the game and will eventually delete the app. In short, user beware...

Frustrating. The game itself I give 5 stars but the changes with the last update make the game almost unplayable in the free version. Every action you do causes a minimum 40 second video or ad for another game and you can only get the points for finishing a level by watching another video. So for playing a level you have to sit through double the time in watching adverts or videos. It used to be so awesome but these changes will drive you crazy and make the game unplayable. I guess they really want you to get the paid version

Reduce the ads!. I’ve been playing for about year and love this game but all the extra ads in the last few months is really frustrating. I understand you need to make money when all of us are playing the free version but having close to a minutes worth after every level is just ridiculous. But guess what it still won’t make people pay for the game. It will just make us leave altogether.

Word connect. I find this game particularly irritating and frustrating as I believe I have an excellent grasp of the English language, and then some....I find it particularly annoying when I know a word to be accurate (onus for example) and I am constantly knocked back, whereas slang US words are acceptable. Great way to keep my brain active. I love this app. I'm in my 50s and learning every day. Love it, love it, love it. However, recently I've been having issues with the game freezing and then shutting down after ads play, or in the middle of a game. It's a bit frustrating, but I still love the game itself.

MUST click “Allow” to receive ads! No thanks!. I have loved playing this game for the longest time now. It is easy, but not too easy, just enough to keep me engaged and entertained. I loved the ad-free version and used the ad-free version for a reason. I don’t want to waste my time with ads! Today I was confronted by an in-app message directing me to click “Allow” to receive personalised ads! And since there is NO option not to, it’s not a question! It’s either click “allow” or the app won’t open. I choose NOT to “allow” ads, thanks. If the option doesn’t change I will delete the app. There are so many other games out there, I’ve got nothing to lose by moving on. Sorry, you’ve lost me.

Mind Challenging. This game is very good & frustrating all in one. I often can get the largest word using all the letters first & then get stumped on the smaller most common words. The main negative thing I would like to point out, is when you have guessed all of the words in that part/section, why do you only get 10 points & yet to get a clue for a letter it costs you 40? I think the reward & the penalty for a clue should be the same! Either 10 for each or 40 for your reward or a clue you are buying. What do you think?

Great game with flaws. Adds take too much time! Some words, using the set letters and of the correct length are being ignored and some very strange ones accepted, some that I would consider abbreviations. Why are plurals ending in “S”accepted in the daily challenge, but not in proper play? Either they are in or not in! A notice that plurals are in or not in, depending on the play, would be an acceptable compromise. I play this game every day, sometimes for hours, and love its concept. Rejection of “proper” dictionary words, to my mine, is a problem that needs fixing

Too many ads, too easy. The game is far too easy and you complete levels in under 10 seconds, then have to watch an ad, which most of the time is longer than it took me to complete the level itself. Ads start popping up in the middle of playing and in the daily bonus. Sometimes there’s two ads in a row and then their own ad, making three ads in a row to play a ten second level. Not worth it at all. Turning your phone onto aeroplane mode doesn’t even work, ads still intrude their way into your gameplay. Many actual English dictionary words aren’t even considered words in this game either which is ridiculous. If you’re going to make a word game, at least know the English language.

Word Connect. I paid to have ads blocked which is really annoying as otherwise you get one game and then an ad that goes on almost longer than the game. The other thing that is really annoying is that with all of these games you have to buy something like tokens or paper planes to progress through the levels. The prices for what you get are exceedingly excessive especially considering how little you get for the money spent and also the so called rewards for doing well and passing levels are ridiculously low. I realise that this is how the developers make their money but they could be a lot more generous. I eventually kick all of these games to the curb because of the greed of the developers.

Hurry up! (Please). Like many of us, I’m time-poor, but love a little app to fill in a few minutes. This is great but the change-over (“congrats!) and then the move to the next level (including the ’tap to continue’ which is totally pointless) takes up too much of my valuable time. Please hurry it all up. And give points for short times too mebbe?

No longer fun. I used to enjoy playing but am now giving up. The last straw for me is having ads come up during levels, not just in between. For me this makes the waiting during ads much longer than the game play. Not worth it. I absolutely won’t pay for ads to be removed, so was prepared to endure the ad in between each level, but it’s gone too far having them during levels too. Also, as others have mentioned, the allowed words that are not consistent is annoying, and the repetition of what seems to be a relatively small number of letter combinations makes for much less enjoyable game play. Not enough to keep me playing given the hugely annoying and lengthy ads. Shame

Reduced my star rating. I used to enjoy playing this game, it is fun & makes you think. You need to be very patient to play for free - every turn is followed by an ad. I ended up paying to get rid of them as they were so intrusive and annoying - no doubt the point. Recently ads have re-appeared playing the daily challenge. I’m not happy with this latest intrusion so revised my rating. I don’t play as often now. I also frequently find that there are a lot of common words not recognised by the game, yet some proper nouns & acronyms are in it which can be frustrating. A lot of word repetition too.

Don't bother with in app purchase. Firstly, this is a well designed, well executed and highly addictive. But if you are thinking of purchasing a pack to get rid of the ads, you shouldn't bother. You will still be shown ads for the developer's other games, ads for "packs" you can purchase etc. Worst of all, your purchases can't be restored. So if you want to make an in app purchase to get rid of the ads on your iPhone, the developer wants you to make another one on your iPad. And bad luck if you need to reinstall it. The App should be reported to Apple for this.

No longer a good game. This used to be one of my favourite games. I no longer play. Words that do not exist in any dictionary, including their own! Made up words or two single words ‘joined’. Too many. They have gradually changed the options so that if you do any purchase you automatically loose all the different options to gain free coins by watching an add. Effectively saying give us more money. Queries to admin receive cut and paste answers, or written by someone for whom English is a second language. Probably the same person with the non existent words. Disappointed as it was fun and had a good team but enough is enough. Treat your customers like fools and they leave.

This USED to be a great game. I don’t know why they changed this version. I’ve played 2175 levels so the words have gotten hard and rather long. That’s ok, I like the challenge. An easy game here and there would be nice though. With this new version, they’ve reduced the amount of reward we get while leaving the cost of clues the same. Also, I REALLY appreciated that the words came up in alphabetical order. No more!!! Why? This game went from being fun to frustrating.

Fun game, too many ads. I enjoy killing time with this game, however I find that the ads, especially the videos are frustrating. Another thing I noticed is that they often use abbreviations, when the rules state that they are not included. Also this past week I found words no longer display in alphabetical order, and there was no warning of that.

Not as advertised. I downloaded this game app after seeing it as an ad in another game. This has nothing to do with the game featured in the advertisement which had words scrolling down a screen. This is yet another scrambled word game. I deleted it immediately as I'm not interested. False ads gets a big thumbs down to this game, and I'm very unimpressed with this company.

Enjoy BUT. I’m enjoying the game but the ads were driving me crazy. So, I paid $8.49 to remove ads. But I’m still seeing ads. I am not pleased. Do, if you d/l the game, don’t bother paying to remove ads.

Love this game!. I’ve played this game for years and have always thoroughly enjoyed it. However, for the last month or so, I’ve had nothing but problems with it. Once a puzzle is completed, I’m sent to an ad before going on, BUT it goes to a black screen, no music, and I had to go out, then go into another app, then when I re-enter the game, music eventually starts up, still a black screen until finally a “x” appears in the upper corner. I always play the daily puzzles, but my patience and need to do other things in my life, is making it very unpleasant to play. Sure hate to delete your app, but these delays are just ridiculous and so frustrating.

Ads. I have the settings set for no sound. On the ads that have SPONSORED on them, the sound still comes through. This is very annoying as I like to play this game while waiting for my granddaughter to fall asleep. When one of these ads come up, I close out of the game and go back in to avoid the sound. The Blackjack ad never goes back to the game. After playing, it just stays on your screen. I’ve even tried hitting the buttons to advance it. Nothing happens. I’ve had to stop playing this game when I have my granddaughter because the sound is so loud it wakes her or she pops up saying, what’s that, what are you doing? There’s no rhyme or reason to some of the words that are accepted and others that are not. Seems some plurals are now accepted and some are not. Overall, it’s a good game.

Great game ….. I love the game , I would play so much more if they didn’t push buying things (planes , tokens , packages)so much . It really turns me off . It’s constant . I usually close out the third time and most unfortunately that’s pretty soon after I start playing. I play other games that are similar for so long I hate to admit to it - I am sure I would have the same experience with this one if they didn’t push the buying - people will find it and buy it if they want to , I promise! I did , when I used to buy tokens and such . Also it would be so much fun to make the tournaments more interactive and longer , and teams more definitive if possible- I think it would attract a lot of new players!

Addictive. I like this game a lot. I’ve been playing it for almost 2 years and I don’t think I’ve missed a day of playing so I guess I’m addicted. Can be challenging at times (a good thing)but generally an easy game to play. The one annoyance I wish would be fixed...when a level won’t accept a very simple word that has previously been accepted on hundreds of other levels. Frequently simple 3 or 4 letter words that you know are correct won’t be accepted (when the level is clearly calling for 3 and 4 letter words. It seems a programmer could write that into the program. If a word is good hundreds of times, why isn’t it a word across the game? I would probably give 5 stars if this didn’t happen all the time.

Nice Challange. I’ve been enjoying this game for sometime now. I like that sometimes the game is very challenging and then a couple easier ones come up. I personally don’t want a game to be so difficult that it’s frustrating but find that this one is challenging enough to make my brain have to work. I also like that the inventors of the game give you a chance to earn points towards some hints. These hints are much appreciated at times lol. Only critic is that sometimes the words are very rare and even their own dictionary doesn’t recognize them. This seems a little pointless if the words existence is questionable. At that point you just have to make guesses hoping you get a try that works.

Love This Game, A Few Minor Fixes Needed. First of all, this game is outstanding. My whole family plays, including my nine-year-old son. We all love it, and love the challenges. My small complaint is that it would be nice to have an indication that you have found all of the bonus words while you were inside the round. Whenever I want to check if I have them all, I need it to open the dialog box and then close twice. Small, but it would definitely help gameplay for more advanced users. To that point, I am seeing here that other people have somehow unlocked higher or harder puzzles. I have not had that option despite approaching level 2000 in under a month. Some options for harder rounds, or difficulty levels, would be an improvement. However, the game is excellent as is. Finally, I completely appreciate that there is a reasonable price to remove ads and reasonably priced in app purchases that aren’t essential to core game play or advancement. This is SO helpful when giving the game to younger children. In app purchase options and/or ads cause such unnecessary drama between kids and parents.

50 50 Game. Now this Word Connect game is pretty addicting I am into Word Games so I decided to check this game out. It brings somewhat of a challenge and it has thousands of not millions of puzzles. Which are very fun to get into and try to figure out including the Daily Specials. There are a few things though I am not a fan of like the long misleading cringe ads that comes after every level. And another thing is I feel like it has a small basic format like all you do pretty much is beat the Regular Levels and The Daily Specials and get Coins while doing it. And there is nothing more to it. That would be fun if it was a board game or even a not as advanced console game but there could at least be another feature like. 1. Challenges/Goals: So maybe you could add a bunch of tasks to do in levels like make this word but with a twist or do a word with a synonym or an antonym. Just to name those two examples So that is just a suggestion I thought of that will spice up the game more and besides that the game is pretty good with a 3/5. And Ps: get back to me if you like the suggestions and I will participate in all of the new updates too and thank you very much for that

Where do you get some of these words?. I really enjoyed this game. But as I moved to higher & higher levels, the words became more & more weird! When you had a word that was a Hindu greeting, I was done. Nothing against Hindus, mind you, but I don’t know Hindi! Also many computer terms for computer gurus, but not for non-computer gurus. I agree with previous reviewer that it costs to buy letters for a 4- letter word that, after buying it, I still didn’t know what it was. And, yes, did I say I looked up every word that made no sense to me? Surely there are many more often used & harder words in the English language that you don’t have to put in such obscure or foreign words.

Four Stars. I’ve been playing this game longer than any other word game I’ve downloaded. I enjoy playing otherwise it would have been deleted like all the others. I have noticed that a lot of words are not recognized by by the game. Words that have been around forever and are used in everyday conversations. The reason for my four star rating is every time I go to play the game I have to go through a series of pop ups trying to sell me something. Or trying to get me to turn on my notifications. If I wanted to be notified I would have set that up in the beginning. If I want to by something I know where to go on the game to purchase items. I’m becoming annoyed with the constant ads every time I want to play.

Love the word game. I started playing this game a couple of years ago with my daughter. We pass the phone back and forth when we get stumped. I have never had to buy coins, we just play the daily bonus and seem to have have plenty to work with when we get stuck and need to buy a letter or two. Now that I’m approaching the 2000 level there are words that come up that I have never heard of. And when I go to look them up, they are not listed in any online dictionary? I have to pay to see every letter. For the most part, I highly recommend this game . It’s a fun easy way to pass a few minutes every day. The graphic designs are fun and colorful. The weekend bonus challenge is lots of fun if I have a little extra time. Good job everybody !!

Inconsistency is annoying. I have to agree with BladeKeeper’s review. Too many changes for the worse. Way too many words not recognized. It was nice when you added the option to enter a word not recognized, but then you took that away. Yet there are an abundance of nonsense words. Some words can be pluralized, others cannot. The daily bonus went from the bingo balls to a wheel and back to the bingo balls. Now we have the tournament with a leaderboard. I’m not sure how, but I was able to reach first place in less than an hour, which leads me to believe it’s bogus. (I’m sure it will disappear shortly anyway.) You’ve got a good thing here, please be more consistent. Change is good, but it has to be the right changes.

Friggen Ads!!!!!!!!. This is quite an addicting game, lol I’m on level 1,366. That being said, I do have some issues. 1. The pop ups are insane!! There is one after every single level and they are quite lengthy. I was able to get rid of them by paying $.99 though, so that’s not too bad 2. There are so many words that are actually in the dictionary that do not work. And when I say so many, I mean SO MANY. It’s quite annoying when you’ve tried multiple words that are words, but don’t work and the word they were looking for isn’t even in the dictionary... 🤦🏻‍♀️ This is probably more biggest issue!!! 3. Sometimes it will accept words and sometimes it won’t. There are some words, usually plural words that it almost never accepts. But then randomly sometimes it will. I don’t get where their thought process comes from there. Either allow the words any time they can be made, or don’t! 4. The free paper planes. Whenever you get free paper planes from completing something, it uses them automatically and you don’t have a choice. That’s quite annoying when you’re forced to use them on the easiest set of words, when you could be using them on the ones you struggle with.

Ads and glitches ruining a great game. I really enjoy this game and have played it daily for several years. However, the latest update includes advertisements that interrupt in the middle of solving a level. This is extremely annoying. It interrupts just when you get on a roll and ruins the flow of the game. I don’t mind ads between levels but this is too much. I will stop playing if this isn’t removed. There are also audio glitches that are annoying. For example, I often like to listen to music or podcasts while playing. When an ad starts it interrupts the audio which is fine. However, it doesn’t unpause the audio after the ad. You have to jump to the other app to hit play and then go back to the game. Super annoying and it doesn’t happen on other games I play. Unfortunately these issues are ruining a really enjoyable game.

Gameplay is good, but ads are excessive. Earlier versions had one ad between levels. Now it’s two, and they try to trick you into watching 30 second video ads by placing them on the “collect” button on some screens, while offering the regular points if you click on the tiny “no thanks” text (not even visible as a button, only text) below it. On other screens the collect button is the way to get the regular points, have to click a different button for double points by watching an ad. Only way to get rid of the ads is an in app purchase, that can’t be shared with other family members, not sure if you can share it with other devices on the same AppleID. Developer is clearly more interested in getting bad revenue, than in making it consistent and easy for the user.

Enjoyable, But Fixes Needed. I enjoy the game; however, two problems: 1) some words are simply NOT—words, that is—not in any dictionary I have. This is really not acceptable. “Words” need to be real and found in a general dictionary. 2) other words that ARE words are not accepted, even as “extra words.” Again, that’s unacceptable. I understand when there are several words that could fit and the one you have in mind must be chosen. The usual result is that the extra words go into the “Extra Words” pile. But sometime they are rejected—WHY? This doesn’t make sense and is unfair. These two items need to be fixed. I don’t know every word in the English language, but after 45 years of teaching high school English classes, I know many.

Great game but ridiculous amount of ads. Wow! It wasn’t enough to have ads in between every single puzzle? Now they are putting ads in the middle of the rounds too? This is the stuff that makes people quit playing these types of games. We will tolerate a certain level but this is over the top. I’m aware I can pay to have ads removed, but it’s just dirty pool to up the number of ads per round just to get people to do that. Not everyone can afford to waste money on phone apps. If this frustration is what I have to look forward to every time I play, I’ll be finding a new app. This is a great game, but if I’m spending as much or more time trapped watching ads as I am playing it’s no longer worth wasting time on.

Fun game but has its frustrations. I love this game and have been playing it off and on for the past five years or so. The graphics are good, I like the music and sound effects, and it’s a better way to pass time than scrolling on IG or FB. The thing that REALLY gets me is the fact that non words, such as acronyms and abbreviations, are accepted, when quite a few actual words and place names are not. Also many foreign words are accepted, which does not make sense as this game is for English speakers. Whenever I play a word I’ve never heard of (which happens when I’m mindlessly arranging letters after trying everything), I look it up and sometimes there is no definition at all. It’s too bad they couldn’t use a real English dictionary as their database.

Ads, ads, and more pop ups!. The game itself is great. Like others have said, there are variations of words that should be counted as a word, yet don’t. It is not consistent with making a word plural or past tense. I get it. Spelling and grammar can be difficult in the English language, especially for those that weren’t raised with it. It is hard enough for those of us that were. You get the option to purchase “no ads”. It gets rid of the stupid videos and commercials that you are bombarded with from day one. However, it does not get rid of the bazillion pop up ads asking you to purchase this package or the never ending pop up telling you to turn on your notifications (even if you have that turned on, which, because of the stupid advertisements I will never have turned in again!). This option should advise you that you are not getting rid of ALL ads, only third party ads. Very deceiving.

Good distraction. I like the fact it is not timed. I don’t need to be pushed by a word game, lol. I really enjoy the daily challenge which lets me amass enough points to deal with harder challenges later. I also enjoy the badge tournaments; I’ve been #1 once, but in the top ten a few times. This is the only game that had held my attention over time. Pet peeve...the use of abbreviations as “real” words. (Reg, rec, mid). And the fact that orc is a word, cracks me up. The game has sticking power. I was surprised to see I’ve played almost 2500 games, but still look forward to playing in small chunks of time during the day. And I love that you come back to where you were when you left the game, and don’t have to start over.

I’m seriously thinking of quitting this game. I’ve been playing this game literally for years, but lately, the only reason I’ve continued is to keep my 3+ year streak of winning the daily challenges alive. They’ve devolved into making the puzzles full of very obscure words, and it’s no longer any fun. I’m around level 2,350 or so, but it’s like they’re actively trying to make me quit the game. They’ve recently added a feature where you can report a word (for being too obscure or difficult or wrong), but oftentimes it’s the last word in the puzzle you would want to report, and as soon as you figure out the word and would want to report it, the whole puzzle vanishes into the next one. This USED to be a pretty fun game, but as others have said, it’s riddled with pop-up ads now, which makes it less fun.

Best of its kind. I’ve been playing Word Connect for a few years. There are never ads and the software always works. It starts off real ez but progresses and becomes quite challenging. It is def a fun game and helps you to become an ace with forming words. There are numerous cool features. There’s even a dictionary to define a word you spelled. Has options to start or join a group to help win challenges. Winners get extra points or free planes for hints for forming words. Ever wonder what ti do in a waiting room? Word Connect is perfect. Good time-passer. I have 3 gripes that I think are correctable. First, I’m seeing random ads and “reminders” during the game that temporarily derail my train of thought and I find that annoying. Second, there are times when even common words like “the” and “ale” are not accepted even when 3-letter words are allowed; sometimes they’re allowed and sometimes they’re not, and I find that inconsistency baffling and annoying. Third, when I get those “paper planes” that act as helpful hints, I would like the option of saving them for later use rather than having them being used for me; that would make the game more enjoyable without having to spend coins.

Loved it UNTIL…. If I didn’t run into these big problems it would be a five star rating! I download the game because I liked the fact that I didn’t require a “billion permissions” like a lot of games do and don’t need to. I purchased the game without ads and it was totally fun until it was unfair & frustrating because: 1. Hints take and take away far too many coins! You get free coins if you find extra words in the puzzle that otherwise would fit in the boxes but 2. many legit common words that you find you still wont get credit for, so you don’t get free coins like you should 3. Then they start giving you puzzles with more letters in the puzzle then the amount of boxes that the letters would fit in! You can’t bypass that puzzle so you have no choice but to have to use almost all your coins to get hints! I can see one extra letter maybe for the higher levels but turning it into a word lottery can be too exhausting! For instance, with just the 26 letters of the alphabet you can spell the words in an unabridged 10 pound dictionary! 5. I don’t want to join a team! and I can’t bypass the button of selecting a team? That’s not okay. When they fix this unfairness, i’ll go back and give it five stars!

Deceiving. Perhaps I didn’t play long enough, but this game is extremely boring and not the least bit challenging. I gathered that the levels increase in difficulty as you continue to play, but limiting oneself to two- and three-letter words for multiple levels is just not a challenge. Plus, the demo that was given in another game isn’t what the game was (or at least began like) at all. There are other spelling/word building games in the App Store that are more challenging, and which do not play ads after every one or two levels. Plus, as I’ve seen in some other reviews, I get the impression that the creator(s) of this game do not speak English as their language of preference, as there doesn’t seem to be a mastery of English words. This game isn’t fun, and is a complete waste of time. I think I burned rather than built brain cells while playing this game. Delete….

Praise God!. There is a 777 for the spin bonus in this game! I'm glad this game was advertised to me from another game that is enjoyed! I was a TBI- Traumatic Brain Injury patient... this game is giving me an opportunity to check my ability to recognize words and revamp my memory! The doctors are impressed that I am resurrected and able to function without even half the problems they expected! My therapist may be happy to see that I am investing into recovery more than dangerous/ useless activities! God is almighty and gave me the option to continue my recovery on my spare time! My number one recovery is praise and prayers to God! This is a back up plan! I have faith God is showing me the answer to all problems!

Great game but I want to tell you all about my opinion. Amazing and I love how it teaches you stuff even if you know some rare words already and I love how it teaches your friends and family words too. Also, you make learning fun and that’s amazing and you make people happy and that’s good for your Health. And I love all the color in the game it’s so positive! I like it, but it needs more freedom.. I think this game is very addictive, well made and polished. However, I have one complaint. If you make a word that is legitimate but does not have the right amount of letters, it should count as a bonus word, or heck, even just an extra word off to the side. For example, if I have the letters I T C H, and I spell it when there are no two letter spaces, the game should still acknowledge it. Also, once I found a subset of this problem that really irks me. I once spelled the word “cone” as my four letter word, and the game said it was wrong. This could be easily fixed by just expanding the bonus word list to include ALL extra words instead of just some of them. Overall, good game, but there are some flaws.

Annoying Game. This game is not fun anymore. It is annoying. The creators are more interested in making money than the people playing the game. There are so many ads that it makes it hard to get through the game. The creator doesn’t realize that when you get too many advertisements people are going to stop playing. Not everyone can afford to pay to get rid of the ads. Ads that the player cannot close make things even worse. The only way to get past some of the ads is to close the game completely and then go back in. Wonder how many points players loose because of this. Maybe you should think more about the players and getting everything to work properly than how much money you can make off of everyone.

Loving it less. I used to really love this game and would play it for hours- but then they reduced the number of points you scored per level, increased the number of ads and now frequently it is a series of 3-4 ads strung together. I wind up just putting my phone down or going to a different game. Some ads are 30 seconds long and they repeat them over and over. They have also made the “x” in the upper corner so small that it is hard to get out of the ads even when they are over- and when I have my sound turned off why do some ads still blare away? Also Draft Kings ads almost always freeze up my phone or are impossible to get out of. Loving it a lot less. Have found other games to play with less advertising.

Great Concept, Better Programming Needed. I really love the concept of the game, but it’s flawed in design. It takes some bonus words, but clearly isn’t programmed to be referencing a real dictionary as their are many inconsistencies. On some levels it won’t take common words like “enter” for bonus points when a 5 space word is required - and if you get high enough in your levels, it wants obscure archaic Middle English words that aren’t in use anymore. Sometimes it is looking for foreign language words like “pueblo” and “ennui” and then other times it won’t take those same words as bonuses. The game could really benefit from someone simply programming it to check any played words against a real dictionary. It’s just really not that complicated to program it that way.

VERY disappointing upgrade. I have played this game for YEARS, probably since it was originally developed. I have a thing about not updating apps because I HATE when developers add in new annoying advertisements or try to come up with ways to entice you to buy things. And low and behold, I updated this one and that just what I got. Previously, I’d open the game and there would be a digital bingo machine type graphic that would throw me a few coins. Now there is a fake spinning wheel that, no matter how many days in a row I play, only offers me ONE FREE HINT (despite the NUMEROUS options offered on the wheel). It then says I can spin again IF I pay money. What a joke. Now the words used are a bit ridiculous as well. I think I will just download a different variation of the app, since several developers make similar games. Ruined.

AD OVERLOAD!. I’m a word nerd and loved this game...I played the daily game religiously with the goal of never missing a day; I played the regular game as a little break from work, before I went to bed at night, or while waiting in line anywhere! But, the last month or so, the ads have gotten so bad, what used to be a 10-15 minute daily challenge, is now closer to 20-25! And, the ads themselves just keep getting longer and longer. I spend more time watching ads than I do playing! I know I can pay to delete the ads, but, the truth is, I don’t mind an occasional ad (I think that’s how I found this game to begin with) & I understand that ads make the game free for those of us unwilling to pay for it, but things have gotten ridiculous. I’ve played this game everyday for almost a year & now I’m considering deleting it because the ads have gotten so bad!

Points for completing puzzles. Completing a puzzle & unscrambling words can be fun but no points are given for this. Points are basically are only for viewing ads. Though the point of the game is to make commissions by getting as many ads watched as possible the game becomes monotonous when no rewards are given upon successful completion of the puzzle or Unscrambler .Some words are rejected initially only to be accepted later. Some legitimate words are rejected. Ads pop up in the middle of puzzle solving with no way to escape. Some of these are very long & challenging & it would be nice to be rewarded for completing the tasks & then also rewarded for watching ads. The game can be entertaining & challenging but it should also be rewarding for completing the game & not just for watching ads. Playing time would be increased significantly & so would Ads watching.

Me. So i can get more points like i used to put ads back,i’m getting ripped off big time,so give me points I deserve,thx! Thx for not giving me points every new game,you owe me about two thousand points!come on wake up over there,are you ripping off other players or only select ones??it’s an ok game but give points every game!!not even worth playing if you don’t get points every game!! I was getting (70) points per game,now its (60)/what up???holy moly,stop with all the stinking ads for crying out loud,they are way to long and too many,(5) second ads maybe but no way unless people skip the ads that you can get (4000) points,no way,the most i got was a little over (1200) points not (4000),really???

Love this game. I have been consistently playing this game for over a year and it’s never boring. This was my review a year ago but the game has become so stressful with more ads and impossible words. I think I am being forced to buy more coins. After three years I am thinking about leaving it. An update: I am still hanging on but the game isn’t getting better. I have stopped playing it everyday. Hope it improves by improving the selection of words and a few less ads. Update: even though I’ve had issues with this game I have continued to play. Recently most of the problems I had was solved and it’s once again one of the best games on the internet. Thanks.

Really Fun, A Little Tedious. I have been playing this game for over a year and I quite enjoy it. I've played dozens of puzzle games and this one is really clean. I also appreciate that there are multiple puzzle types to play; however, I find some of the word choices questionable. That's because either that there is seemingly no plural continuity or that something just isn't a word (or else it's a stretch). Now granted the words are perfectly fine in most cases, so there isn't too much to say here. My only other complaint is that there are way too many pop ups. I don't want to have to click off 5+ windows just to get to the dailies. All that said, it remains in my daily puzzle routine, so it's worth it.

British and young. That’s what I think of the authors of this game. Why? Well, they allow LOO which is British word for bathroom. Young? They allow words like RAD, which teens and young adults use, but not PROF which is, of course, Professor, for those who went to college. Words, like EAR, ARE, and ERA, are used over and over and... well, you get it. I can’t spend $$ on games since I like to buy food, so the option to watch a video, albeit, the same one, is a bonus. If you have money or parents who let you use their credit card, more power to you. If you go far enough, they use some relatively sophisticated words which is why I keep playing. Most games like this are toooooooo easy.

Word Connect. The game use to be nice. I loved to accumulate points by making words. The game is changed so much now that I don’t even understand all the badges and points. I refuse to pay for any badges or points. I think it will repeat the puzzles after a while. I hate the ads in between the puzzles. I just turn the volume down on my phone when the ads come on so I don’t have to hear them. You have also started giving us ads that are five minutes or more in length. I just find something to do and come back when I think the ad is over. The ads are cheap anyway. Does anybody really buy that stuff?Is it like that as seen on TV stuff?You should give people the option of changing to a new form of the game or staying with the classic version. I will continue to play the game even though I don’t understand all the new points. I am looking for a new game when I’m finished with this one. I am about half finished with it.

Game is no longer fair. I liked the Daily challenges and the premise of the two games is fun, but lately, the game has been no fun. There are many legitimate words that are not on the list, that means on the Daily challenge, they do not count and it makes it difficult to fiind enough words to meet the challenge goal. Too often, the words needed to clear a board on the regular game play are obscure or non-existent. I can check on multiple anagram apps and find no words that satisfy the board. I’m left with using my hints and that is no fun. If they were legitimate words, it wouldn’t be bad, but these are nonexistent words! Sometimes a proper noun is being used - that’s not fair. I used to start my day with this game’s daily challenge and play a few rounds, I’m stuck on a round with a 5-letter word that doesn’t exist on any dictionary apps - very frustrating!

Ads Have Become Exhausting. The game itself is kind of fun (around three out of five stars), not overly challenging, but still enjoyable. The ads, however, which were already a bit much (a constant banner ad at the bottom of the screen, and also a pop up after every puzzle and every time you leave the app, even for a few seconds, say to answer a text and come right back, have become pop ups that you can’t exit until several seconds have passed.) The game isn’t nearly special enough or enjoyable enough to warrant the extra wasted time and certainly not worth paying to play ad free. Previously I played at least once or twice per day, but I won’t be playing at all now, thanks to the ridiculous increase in ad time.

FORCED ADS ARE TOO LONG WHEN TRACKS DATA FOR $ too!! Deleting. The title says it all the ads but it forces you to watch are way too long. Try to trick you in the clicking like it’s over to take you to another app and they’re tracking your data which gets them money so it’s stupid that they want you to pay six dollars to get rid of the ads or watch 5 million ads… They’re too greedy for my taste so I am going to delete and there are tons of other games that are the same thing it’s really not anything special or unique… It appears like millions of people love this game, but that could be because they don’t mind being tracked for money and paying six dollars or watching tons of ads that are really a killjoy in the middle of trying to distress play a game when you don’t have much time anywhere… The other way too long… Just like my review anyway deleting now bye

Purchased no ad option, now can’t play unless I allow ads!. Both my husband and I are huge fans of this game. We both purchased the no ads option and it’s been fine...until now. Today we opened up to play and get a message that says thanks for loving our game and please press allow so we can send you personalized advertising. Uh, no, that’s why we paid to not get them. You need to either reimburse what we paid for no ads, or give an option to opt out. As it stands, we can’t play in our tournament now because we can’t move beyond the “allow” button. What gives?

Addictive, but.... This game is a great way to kill some time whilst still challenging your mind a bit, but could you guys please just choose a set of rules and stick with them? Examples: Either accept plural forms of words all of the time or none of the time. Ditto with non-English words, obscenities, acronyms, abbreviations, and non-slang medical terms for sex organs. Don’t claim that very basic words are not actually words. You guys do this with “urn” and “ion” (to name a few of the most common) ALL THE TIME and it drives me absolutely insane. The only thing that is more aggravating is when even the apps very own built-in dictionary is clueless about whatever mysterious non-word you’ve just accepted. Lastly, please stop with the routine of “hey, this time it’s a word, but tomorrow (or maybe even two more levels along) it won’t be a word anymore!” We already live in a world where the ability to spell correctly and having a halfway decent vocabulary is rapidly becoming a lost art. Please don’t be part of the epidemic here. Aside from the above, I really do enjoy Word Connect. If y’all can look into fixing these issues, I promise I’ll stop calling it “Word Concoct” :)

Ads getting too intrusive. I have been playing this game for many years and find there are too many long ads and some that just get stuck. Then you have to exit the game and go back in to continue playing. I also agree with other reviewers that the dictionary is not complete, lots of real words that are not accepted. True word games do not allow slang, abbreviations, or proper nouns. A rename to Letter Cross would be more accurate. Update: performance is getting ridiculously slow. I won't be playing anymore until the game works at an acceptable level. Update: performance for older iPads has really degraded. It is now crashing between each round, sometimes in the middle. I had considered purchasing to eliminate the ads but I'm not going to waste money on a game that is more of a hassle to play than it's worth.

Word Connect. Just downloaded a few minutes ago. Easy game so far. Hear it gets harder as it goes along. Can't wait for that! September 21, 2017. I have no idea what level I am on but it doesn't matter. I'm having a ball! I can play for a few minutes or for 15 to 30 minutes if I want to without feeling overwhelmed or like I should be doing something else. I am challenged every single puzzle. Some I can zip right thru but others I struggle with for a while. I may have to quit playing and come back in a while or it'll drive me batty! Some puzzles l kinda surprise myself with the words I come up with. That is when I find this game the MOST fun of all! Yeah, that's just how I can sum it up!

Frustrating at times. I play this game quite often but as one person mentioned you put in a word, it doesn’t work so you try again a little later and it works. At first I thought it was me not connecting the letters correctly but since it happened on a number of occasions, possibly a glitch? For those just starting out you will find they rarely use plurals but my main frustration is what dictionary are they using? When I’m at my wits end trying to find the Word they come up with a Spanish word or Arabic word or a proper name, such as India! Some of the 3 letter words I actually question if they are in the dictionary or made up slang. Then, once in while you’ll get an acronym, etc or dui!?!?

Would be fun but.... This game would be fun if it didn’t have so many negative issues. In the middle of a game, ads try to load and the screen goes black or just kicks you out, there are WAY too many ads. I had paid to remove ads and when I got a new device, my no ad game disappeared so it was thrown out money. They make up words on the game that are not in the dictionary, and, don’t give you points for real words...rather ridiculous because you’re left in a situation where you’re trying to second guess or mind read what word they are thinking of. Instead of relaxing and having fun with this game, I get annoyed and irritated.

Sometimes, it’s just a guess. One of the better apps of this sort of game I’ve played, but some of the words can be just a guess. Numerous times, I’ve resorted to a website to help me find a last stubborn word. I started doing this because I will have tried words I’m certain are correct, but I don’t even get credit for them as an extra. The most recent example I had tried 6 out of 7 confirmed real words from a list; none of them counted as even an extra. The 8th ended being the one it wanted thankfully. But nothing for the other ones? Seems kind of lame. Not to mention sometimes proper words count and sometimes not. Frustrating at times. All and all, this game is good for giving your brain a workout

I love this game but. I refuse to ALLOW someone to personalize advertising for me. I do not need or want advertising in my games. I play a game to relax, not to be annoyed by unnecessary advertising. Worse, to not provide a way to bypass the choice is a forced choice to clients who have been playing with you for a prolonged period of time. If I were a new client, where advertising was part of the downloaded package, that would be a different story. Until you quick strong arming your clients into personalized advertising that we don’t want, you have lost me as a player. Sad, I actually paid for your overpriced coins etc to move forward in the game. Guess you’ll just save me some money!

GREAT GAME. I'm a big advocate of paying for things you enjoy. This game is super fun and addictive! I was really thrown off by the crazy amount of ads when the game offered to purchase coins to remove them. I gladly did and it's so much more enjoyable. If the app itself costed money I would just pay for it, but I understand the route they were going. That being said, the game itself can get a little repetitive at times. You end up using a lot of the same words over and over. Also sometimes you come across a word you didn't even know was a word. I'm an English major and I was stumped on a word combo and had to google it and the answer was something I never even heard of. But yeah I really like it overall.
