Great twist on a favorite!. My son loves letters and always enjoys using them in games. This one is a great way to promote learning the individual sounds. I like the ability to customize it to letter sounds only, then make it more challenging as kids are ready for blends and diagraphs.

Would be great for a child at a higher level. My child has significant special needs and the noise and pace of this game is too much for him. I do think it would hold the attention of a child who loved video games!

Some errors.. There are some errors for how some of the digraphs are pronounced. I would not use this if you are wanting your child to learn phonics. These little errors now can effect the child later on when reading becomes more difficult.

Don’t buy this app. The app gives no direction, introductory lesson, and many of the sounds are not articulated accurately and clearly. This would be fine if it were a free app for your kid to kill time using but not useful for learning phonics or to supplement phonics lessons at home/school

Great for my 4 year old son. This app has been fun for my son. He enjoys playing games 😉 as he is learning.

Great!!. I love these apps. Great way to increase phonemic awareness. The sounds are pretty spot on. I do wish that there wasn't an added vowel sound at the end of some. The fl sounds like fla, and /p/ sounds like pa... a speech therapist's worst nightmare. If you look past that this is a great app!!

Kids Love it. Great app to learn blends. Kids are having fun and learn phonics at the same time.

Tremendous. This is a great app for parents to use as an easy sight word practice. Tends to make the word practice painless. Also love the customizable lists you can create as your child adds new words.

Great errorless learning!. I am refreshed by the way this app adjusts so kids will take in correct information no matter what their learning style is. I have a student who will choose every option because he has great iPad skills. But he really needs phonics too. This app only says the sound for the requested phonics and if the student chops the wrong ones it just says nothing, but does not make a negative sound, which can get discouraging. Then it adjusts so more of the desired letters appear, guaranteeing that the child will have to swipe the right sound and get the input of the sound and symbol as they play. All along having fun and feeling successful. Thanks Alligator Apps!

Love, love, love. I love this app. My students in RTI love using it and compete with each other to see who can go the farthest. It teaches them sounds and does it quickly to help with fluency. Thanks for the great app!

Fantastic!. It's great to have an app to allow students to work on discrimination of what sounds the letters make! It's also wonderful that those pesky vocalic "r's" are included.

Awesome App!. My son loved the fruit ninja version of this so once I saw this one I knew it was perfect. Plus he can learn sounds in a fun way!

Sounds. The thing I find with most apps of this nature is that the vowel sound is added to the end /buh/ vs /b/ or /gruh/ vs /gr/. We should not be teaching kids to sound out words /buh/ /a/ /duh/, bad-because we do not read that way and it is confusing my dyslexic children who are learning to read. When they go to blend the word they do not recognize the word because of the vowel interference.....buh-a-duh vs b-a-d. Is there any way to clean up your sounds?

Great App!. This is a great way for my son to review sounds while having fun!

It is engaging but there are issues. When the app asks for the /k/ sound it throws up both the c and the k. The k is right but the c is wrong. Either fix how you throw the letters up and only have the 1 letter or count both letters correct. I am sure this is true for some of the sounds for vowels.

Great App Helps Kids Learning Phonics while playing!. Great way for my kiddos to review what we discuss during class time. And they consider it free time on the ipad. 😊

Great way to practice blends and digraphs. Students have a more difficult time with digraphs than other sounds. Glad to see a fun way of practicing them. I also like that the sounds are spot on. In some apps the sounds don't quite go with the letters.

Useful app. Really appreciate having the digraphs now.

Fun & Educational. I can't wait to use this with my reading students. This is such a motivating way to reinforce sound letter relationships at a level above single letter sounds. They'll be having so much fun they won't realize they are learning.

Pretty good stuff. I will use this as a quick warm up with my reading students. Most of the sounds were spot on but a few blends were pronounced with an short a sound at the end but I'm sure it won't break the kids and they'll love the Ninja!

Not enough feedback. My students enjoy this game but there is no penalty for random guesses please make it more similar to Fruit Ninja … only allow a few errors before game over. We have to teach them to recognize accurate connections of sound/symbol relationships, not random guessing!

Great game, bad phonemes. I only played a few sounds, and immediately spotted a problem that many teachers don't recognize. Consonant sounds do not have an "uh" after the sound. It is "b", not "buh". But other than that common problem, what a great idea!

Sounds are not clipped!. Some sounds are pronounced correctly but many…especially the blends are not clipped. BL is not pronounced /bluh/. It should be just /bl/. I won’t be using this or recommending it until this is changed.

Sounds Review. This is a great app for my students who are still struggling with letter sounds. I can change the settings to only use the sounds that we have covered and add sounds as we learn them. My students who are receiving interventions for letter sounds needed a fun way to break the monotony of repeated practice and this is it!

Fun App!!. Your student will have a blast chopping the letter(s) that match the given sound. You can adjust the settings to only present sounds the student has learned. Pick individually from a list of letters, digraphs, blends, and vowel teams.

Kids love it!. My kids love it at first but bore easily. I would like it to add more features like combining sounds to create words. Also could use specific words that target articulation sounds!

Great, but.... This is GREAT. It doesn't seem perfectly accurate, though. I received incorrect markings on a couple, and I actually sliced them. Even so, I think it's well worth using. Thanks for a really helpful app for kids who learn best by example/nonverbal direction.

Dyslexia Tutor. Always looking for a way to make reviewing the 44 sounds of the English language in a fun way. Knowing how to quickly blend 2 consonants together reinforces automaticity and internalization. Kids love playing games, especially on the ipad. This was not a boring way to review digraph and blends, that have been previously taught. Plus I like that you can determine how long the child plays the game. A good way to end a lesson or begin a lesson.

Awesome. Awesome, love how you can shut down what sounds appear so able to adjust to child's learning, only problem would be nice if could shut down all in each category, so for beginners they start with just single letter and increase from there. But otherwise awesome.

Sound problems.... The game worked well at the start, but now the sound won’t work...Why is there no sound?? The app is useless without it.
