Why?. It used to work well. Now this app is absolute trash. It refuses to identify QR codes that are generated by Thomson Reuters for account confirmation. I spent an hour on the phone with tech support which was completely worthless, as they told me they didn’t know what to do. It makes me wonder if my agency should be flushing money on this product if they care so little about small details. What else are they screwing up?

Won’t work with Haptic Touch. This app would work fine before iOS 13 and getting an iPhone 11. Now with the new haptic touch feature it doesn’t work from my lock screen and I hate it. Get it fixed please. I just want to get my work done and not have to open up my phone.

Instructions hard to follow. I can’t believe something as important as this is so hard to use. Instructions should be written so that someone using it for the first time sees what needs to be done. Telling me to scan something on my monitor did not work. I had to re log I on a site on my desktop to see what I needed. Might have told this.

Login difficulty. I need this app once a year. When I tried to log in I was informed that my password had expired. Why? I reset my password but then I had to satisfy two factor ID. Doesn’t work. I also had Face ID enabled. That didn’t work. Now I have to wait an entire weekend to get help. What a mess. Not worth it.

Easy to use. I’ve used the app for 3 years and have never had any issues. Even upgraded my phone and with a bit of research, was able to get my new phone connected with no issue.

Simplest Installation and Verification. Setting it up was very easy including the password for future migrating to a different phone and getting a bunch of one-time use emergency access passwords. I’ve used other Authentication software and this was the easiest setup and works almost instantly with one click.

Locked out. I changed to a new phone and was instantly locked out of my account because there’s no migration of the app account to the new phone unless you somehow know to turn on that feature in the app settings on your old phone. If you don’t do it before hand, you can’t do it later. Poor design, with no instruction or directions during set up, and now I’m locked out of my account completely.

This app is garbage. My employer switched to this infuriating app and it’s been a nightmare. I got a new phone and went through the process of getting my pay stubs with my old phone, that was insanely difficult I should mention, and now since I didn’t make a backup I now can’t get my pay stubs. What’s making me angry about this is there’s zero ways around it. My landlord needs my pay stubs and this app has inconvenienced me in the worst way i don’t know what to do. 10/10 would not recommend this app to anyone for any reason.

Poor immigration to new phone. Just like the other review i had the same issue plenty of times we use the program for our clients and employees and whenever someone has a new phone its always a big problem!!!! Fix it please

Locks out with new phone. Extremely inconvenient to get re-setup on my new phone, for something that seems like it should be an easy switch. The instructions online are not easy to find. Find a different app if there is another one out there.

Not sure why so many rate poorly. This took all of 2 minutes to set up initially and another 1-2 minutes to set up cloud back up. All of the people rating 1 stars don’t seem to understand technology or how MFA works at all (seriously dating themselves in their reviews… bold). Easy to use, easy to understand. If you don’t understand it, google Multi-factor Authentication. This is MORE than 2FA and far better. It needs to be secure for obvious reasons so making it so you can just get into it from a different device without having set up the backup would be silly. You’re on a new device, it doesn’t matter that the phone number is the same, all of the other information on your phone (IMSI, TMSI, deviceID, etc.) DOESN'T match so of course it wouldn’t work. Before you leave a poor review, ask yourself if it is the tool or if you just don’t understand how to use the tool.

Most non user friendly app I have run into in a long time. This app is a nightmare! It says to go to your profile to couple but yet there is no clear path or click to get to your profile to run the MFA setup wizard. I am cussing you and my accounting form for using you as I will not get the info I need to upload till tomorrow. This is not user friendly at all and I am technology savvy.

So secure I can’t use it!. This App is not intuitive or user friendly. Poor documentation on how to log in or even get help. I will recommend my tax preparer move to another platform, because this has kept me from doing business with them for 2 days, trying to navigate from device to device.

What happened with the update?. Before the latest update my phone would notify me to approve the app. Now I have to unlock my phone, go into the app and then click the button. It was so much easier before. What happened?

One of the worst apps. This has robbed me of time that I could be doing something so much more productive. Endless chasing dead ends to get absolutely no where. Worthless! No explanation to the stupidly written instructions that lead you on endless circles. If my company didn’t require this, I would never ever use this.

It works quickly.. It works quickly to access the info I need. I definitely feel like my info is safe.

Maybe the least-intuitive app ever?. Holy moley, if the endeavor was to make the worst app known to mankind, kudos. Terrible navigation with zero information and a complete absence of any sort of trouble-shooting. Which makes less than no sense given how poorly this app is constructed. What a hot pile of garbage.

Difficult. Difficult and too many steps to set up. Not everyone being forced to use this for an account access is a techie and does not want to be. An app like this should be very intuitive, easy to use.

Easy to use, ready in 2 steps. I completed the 2fa in less than a minute. It took only two steps. Easy and simple.

Horrible. This app is horrible!! I use it sign into an account to see my check stubs and the app stopped working after a while so I did what any normal person would do and deleted it and added it back and now not only am I locked out of my account there’s no way for me to reconnect the authenticator.

Horrible directions. Why is it so difficult for the developers of this software to try for a brief moment to image an audience that is not familiar with the app, then work to explain steps to use the app such that the average person can understand? The basis of good communication or teaching is the realization that the person you are speaking to is not you.

Thompson Reuters sign in. Do not not not like the multi factor authentication - once I can manage to get into my account then I need to check my device to get it approved but I can’t pair my new device until I get into my account!!!! So I’m pretty much stuck. I am too old to sign up for another tax program otherwise I would, your multi factor authentication is unnecessary

Impossible to set up on new phone. As far as I can tell, it’s literally not possible to set this up when switching to a different phone. I’m not technologically challenged or old, this just doesn’t work. I remember it being easy to set ip on my old device but on this one it’s just not possible.

This is a feature request.. I use this app a lot as my second key authentication for a database product called cs fixed assets. My feature request is to add a component to the app which will send a notification to my Apple Watch that I can click “approve” on instead of having to pick up my phone every time I log in to the database. One of my friends other Authenticator apps does this and it makes my life so much easier.

Too convoluted and confusing. I would not have downloaded this app but a company I work with, that needs we share business data securely, asked me to download it. There are many authenticators with same functionalities. Shop around.

Not user friendly AT ALL. Would not recommend this app. I have more trouble with this than any other app. The login is a pain especially if you upgrade a phone. Our company has switched to a new app and am glad to be done with this.

Worst App Ever. This provides paycheck stubs to hundreds of employees who now are so confused and have no access. They don’t have 2 screens to “authenticate”. They have been calling our office nonstop since this took effect. Now it looks like we have to change our whole payroll software. Super frustrating.

Typical Thomson. Bloody Thomson has too many companies and too many different account accesses. This app works of course, but why can’t you edit your account description. Imagine if you have to access several Thomson programs and everything on this Authenticator app says Thomson??

Poor migration to a new phone.. No migration function or directions, unless you turn on this feature beforehand. Turn it on. Otherwise, you will be locked out if you move to a new phone. Poor design. People change phones all the time. This should be a normal function. The app could easily verify this change by text to the phone number. Not user friendly !!! 😕

Works fine. This app works fine for me. It is quite easy to use.

Works but….. Since the most recent update I am no longer able to approve login from my paired Apple Watch. The only option is to dismiss the notification. Also, there needs to be a better backup option, text or email, for if you lose access to this application.

Bad app, worse customer support. My mobile device stopped receiving sign in notifications when I have to log in to programs at work. This needs to be fixed, it is very frustrating and inconvenient.

Work great. I’ve ad zero issues with this app. I use it in coordination with Payroll Vault.

Complete trash. It is such a chore to even figure out access to my own account when I need it and now this trash authenticator which didn’t transfer from my old broken phone is preventing me from access to all of the payroll documents. Click support? Sure why not. Basically just a bunch of developer note’s saying good luck figuring it out on your own. This app should be a crime.

Worse than worthless.. The tax software accountant uses employs this app as part of the multi-factor authentication process. Been using it for years - it NEVER works. Poor/no user instructions. Total, worthless black box. I’ve considered changing accountants to find another process. WORSE THAN WORTHLESS app.

Works fine. Working fine. Sometimes it glitches, but hopefully the new update takes care of that rare issue.

P.O.S.. I literally had to download multiple apps just to get this piece of crap to work, and I still couldn’t access what I needed to. I would never ever recommend this app to anybody, and it’s ridiculous that it even exists. Don’t waste your time or energy.

Terrible Instructions & Non-functional. I’ve setup many other MFA apps and devices and this is the only one that has terrible instructions that don’t match the available links/options on the website and is impossible to set up. What. Are. You. Doing. with. This.

Need to be able to delete. I now have three former codes still popping up every time I open the app. I need to be able to delete them, and I need to be able to name the ones I use because it just becomes a guessing game of possible numbers.

Thomson Reuter’s Disaster. This app is a nightmare. I have the app downloaded on my device and nothing one needs to do to get this to pair/work is obvious. There is no ability to sync this with an existing account and I’m ready to smash my phone. Unfortunately my account relies on this during tax season so I will have to call a help line to figure this out. Someone should start all over again and get this right.

Not great.. This is difficult to set up in the first place, it took weeks & someone else who managed to figure it out. Also, not migrating to new devices or at least making it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that you’ll need to re-set up on a new device & should create a backup when you initially set up is the worst. I got a new phone & now can’t set up my Authenticator, as I no longer work for the company I needed it for, but still need it to access my W2 for tax purposes next year & can’t without this stupid app. There needs to be general emergency codes or an easier way. I get it’s for security but if I can’t access my information, it’s not really helpful.

Does exactly what it should. I’m not sure why so many negative reviews. This app works great. It functions just like any other MFA app and makes signing into TR products super easy. App settings are easy to navigate. Setup/pairing could not have been more intuitive.

Don’t bother. Saw reviews from a year ago with feedback on don’t change your phone or your account is useless… yep still no changes to that feedback. Locked out and no way in, no option to receive text message to re-link new phone to account.

Very difficult. In response to the reviewer who said that those of us who rated this app 1 star are technically challenged, let me assure you I’m not. However there’s a such thing as bad apps, and this by far is one of the worse. It’s been months and I still can’t navigate pass the setup screen. To the developer, please revisit making the app more user friendly

App Doesn’t like ios 13.2.3. Got a new iPhone 11Pro. On my previous iPhone, when I entered my name/password opening a CS Suite program on my PC, the Authenticator App opened automatically both on my iPhone & iWatch which added convenience. Now, I have to physically go to the App on my iPhone and click on it. At least that works. It no longer opens on my iWatch at all

Absolute Worst App EVER. I’ve downloaded a lot of non-functioning/worthless apps in my day, but this one takes the cake by MILES. I remember way back when, not so long ago, when the overriding goal of any app was to make your life easier. This one does the exact opposite. Sometimes I’ve spent hours, literally, just trying to log in with all of the obtuse, nonsensical hoops this idiotic app makes you jump through. And it still doesn’t function. I mean, I understand the goal of wanting to keep your financial accounts secure, so to that I say “Well done gents, mission accomplished!” I can’t even get into my own account. Whoever is in charge of this unmitigated disaster of an app needs to reassess their career trajectory and maybe pursue a more linear path perhaps as a fast-food fry cook (no offense to fast food fry cooks -may least they create something that actually has value - like French fries. This app offers nothing of value. I’m anxiously awaiting the day I can rate things with zero stars… When that day comes I’ll be back to change mine. Oh, and as an aside, the few folks who say this app is awesome most likely are employed by Thompson Reuters or related to them.

Works great. Easy setup.. I appreciate this extra step authentication for my secure files for taxes during this virtual meeting time.

Agree. Old cell phone died, app worked great on that phone. Old phone wiped @ Verizon to turn phone in for rebate. Can’t get into yr end account to finish up, extremely frustrated! I agree same cell phone# should transfer them everything loaded onto a new phone. Could NOT get into old phone prior to trade in as it had charger port short & topped out on 256GB Instructions not clear to remedy. Ask a non sp geek yo look at instructions before going into effect, not all of us are app geek foreign language savvy

I’ve never had a problem. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of quirks and bugs in TR software that are frustrating beyond belief. Then you contact support and they act like it’s functioning as designed. I find it amazing how much we all pay for this software but then go and rate it 1 star lol. But this... this is not one of them. I use this app 30+ times a day across 4 accounts. Works every time. If you really don’t like it just enable a 3rd party Authenticator or get one of those credit card things.

When this doesn’t work it really doesn’t work.. Title pretty much says it all. I often have not received the notification to confirm authentication. Really annoying.

Authenticator. This is the worst app I have ever dealt with. I lost access after getting a new phone. I cannot restore it like it says I can. I have NEVER dealt with a more frustrating, useless and screwed up app in my life. It is NOT USER FRIENDLY at all!

App. Installation is complicated, unintuitive, and not explained. Provides recovery codes and tells you to save them without warning. By the time I prepared a safe location, they were gone from my clipboard and the app. This makes life more difficult unnecessarily.

The worst Authenticator. Just amazing that the app’s shortcomings have not been addressed by the developers after obvious migration issues and very poor user interface have been reported for several years. Why any company would use this app is beyond belief.

A “1” is too generous. This this is impossible to install, let alone use. This shows that they needed to start rating things with a 0, as 1 is way too generous.

Ron dr. There is no clue on the software about how to proceed. Every time you log in, you have to go through the whole process (setup) all over again, but you don't get a chance to run the set up program again!!!

Alienate your customers. If your a company and you want to alienate your customers you could do no better than this train wreck of an app. Hackers would have an easier time accessing my data than I do trying to get the app working.

Switching mobile devices is painful. There should be a simple straightforward way to switch mobile devices on your new mobile device vs logging into multiple sites on your desktop

Fail. Confusing. Unclear. Clunky. Almost impossible. Took 20 attempts to connect. No confidence it will be easier next time. They need to retool app. Failure. I’m a seasoned professional , relatively smart, not my first rodeo, but this app is a challenge. I advise skipping it.

Thomson Reuters. Very difficult to set up. No support whatsoever. Clearly designed to make use so difficult that you must rely on support if you can reach them, which then gives support job security.

Terrible process for migration to new phone. Nearly impossible.. spent an hour so far with IT TRYING to get my new phone set up. It should NOT be this difficult. Extremely frustrating.. still not set up .. wasting hours of my time.

Thomson Reuters Authenticatit. Terrible directions. I need to get something done but after several calls to accountant , You Tube and reading all directions I’m done. So I compromise my financial security and judst use the accounting program! Not happy!

Poor User Friendly. This app is to complicated to set up and use. I put off downloading documents and using the app because of the complexity. I’m considering another firm because of the hassles. I’d give it a Zero star, if I could.

Terrible. Never sent notifications after repeated requests. By agreeing to use this app I am now locked out of my on line account with my accountant and no one appears able to remove or override. About tone worst software I’ve ever encountered

Ridiculous. Zero stars. Literally can’t use to check my works pay stubs unless a fellow coworker is right next to me to use this app while I access my pay stubs on another device. Absolutely stupid.

Terrible App. This is quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever come across. It stops working for no apparent reason and there is no obvious path to customer support. I am literally dead in the water with no access to my tax documents this year. Avoid if you can.

Does not transfer between devices, even with iCloud enabled. Simply put, When migrating between iPhone or iPad devices, the system just will not back up and restore. Horrible

Security so great it won’t let you in!. Obviously the app was written by an MIT grad. What about the rest of us? I do everything online,but this App is a long way from user friendly.

Acct 76. The system times out too quickly. Can’t even work 15 minutes without having to sign back in. Give us more time for working without having to sign in again

Preposterously difficult to use. This will keep your data secure because you will never be able to access it, so neither will the havkers. Stick with Microsoft Authenticator!

Why would anyone use this app. This app is about as user-friendly as a lead brick. It’s difficult to use and instructions are not very clear.

Not user friendly. If you have other options, use them. This things is crap. Instructions are hard to follow and gods help you if you get a new phone.

Sometimes it works. My accountant uses this to secure his site. Sometimes I can log on; sometimes not. Requiring authentication is a good security idea, but here it has been poorly implemented.

Cumbersome & Dated. Got a new phone so can no longer access my own tax return until Monday (it’s Saturday) when my accountant’s office opens. ONLY APP that is completely dysfunctional bcs I got a new phone. Everyone gets new phones, this needs to be simplified.

Terrible app. I too have migration issues. I got a new phone and have been trying for two days to get this app to work without success. I was able to migrate my Microsoft and Google Authenticator apps without a problem.

Garbage. Finding your way to use this app is like trying to escape the Temple of Doom on skis. No clear direction. Makes you feel like a boomer trying to change their Facebook profile pic.

This is terrible app.. I HATE doing my taxes because my accountant uses Thompson Reuters. Not only do I dislike the application but the multi factor authentication is the worst, most of the time I can’t sign in. Really not worth the time and aggravation. One star is generous. Time to change accountants.

Forced to use. We are forced to use the app since we have the software and the app doesn't work properly half the time. Very frustrating. Not happy

Doesn’t work. I’ll download it because the company who does my paystub‘s required it, and now when I login it uses my phone to authenticate but never lets me in. Instead, it continuously brings me back to the login page.

Worse app I’ve ever used. This app is so bad I wouldn’t give it any stars. No help or information how to restore it after I switched my phone. Useless. No help from the developer neither. They sold this crap to the tax preparer who also doesn’t know how to operate it. TR refused to help me.

This app keeps crashing. This app keeps crashing on my IPhone and it is taking longer and lo get to get it to open. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but that did not help. This is going to be a very bad situation during tax season.

Same migration problem. I’m locked out of my account and can’t see how to get back in because I didn’t know to set up the recovery beforehand.

Dumbest app ever. Got a new phone, turned the old one in to T-Mobile and now I can’t see my pay stubs because this app doesn’t have a way to verify and establish a new device

New phone.. Difficult app to navigate when things are not working properly. When it’s just clicking to accept a sign in. No problem. But if something goes awry. Good luck. Start by deleting the app and reinstalling.
