Great modeled guitar with room for potential improvement. I personally love this app because it is exactly what I want as a keyboard player who loves guitars. I always prefer physical modeling to sampling in most cases so this is an dream to play. I feel like even though this app is already top of the line it could be pushed further by allowing more complex pickup configurations like both single coils and both double coils as well as split bridge double coil with neck double coil and split neck double coil with bridge double coil. Besides that it stands in a league of its own for what it does. I would absolutely recommend to anyone interested in physical modeling or having a more than useable guitar sound as a keyboardist. Edit: maybe a new pickup could be made to model the ones on bass guitars to give a better tool for modeled basses in general. This app has been a near daily source of blues improv recently. Plus it is a great way to use swam instruments on iOS as long as your device is large enough. Geoshred has the great MPE controller layout that SWAM needs.

One of the most versatile apps for iOS. First of all, let me just say that I had this app for years and had written it off quickly as an app that wasn’t for me. I realize now that I just didn’t understand the potential of its versatility, both in the sound engine (the SWAM stuff is easily one of the best things on iOS) and the ease of playability. Add to the fact that the support for the app is incredible and that they were beyond helpful. Probably my most used app for making music at the moment, so I only regret not getting these IAPs sooner.

Phenomenal Instrument!!!!!. This is an amazing, versatile instrument that plugs anyone, any level into their most creative, inspired space. I’m blown away by the expressivity and organic nature of the physical model and its potential for sound creation. It’s crazy that in addition to being a fully functional tone generator it’s also a powerful and cutting edge MIDI controller. With Geoshred’s flexible and configurable playing surface I was literally up and running playing the Blues (complete with backing track) Jordan Rudess style in 5 minutes! The possibilities for creating music of any genre are limitless and with tech like this, we’re driving the future of music! Thank you Geoshred!

One of the best IPad MIDI controllers. This is my favorite iPad midi controller. Great sounds. Especially GeoSwam Woodwinds. Are there any features missing. I can only think of one and it does not apply to many users. I would like the ability to view Scribian colors on notes ( customizable ) Would not be difficult to add but not sure how applicable it would be to users.

Fun app, some suggestions. I'm really a jazz and blues guy so shredding around is fun but not something I will use for recordings. I'd like to see some additional electric guitar bodies ( hollow body, semi-hollow) and amps so I can approximate a jazz guitar sound. Maybe some effects ala Larry Coryell and John McLaughlin. I'd gladly pay for an IAP. While the tutorials and help files are good, the app is so deep that I'd like to see more detailed instructions for the myriad of tweeting one can do...particularly in expert mode.

No longer loading/app support is gone. The last update doesn’t allow all the complete instrument purchases to load ...the app support link = dead, the website support page = spent 30 mins writing a support question regarding this issue, hit send, and also dead, great. Not feeling too great about dropping that $100 now...... Edit: Received near instant tech support from Wizdom (though when I submitted it had said that it didn’t go through) and a simple iOS update from 14.2 to 14.3 was all it took...for some reason I hadn’t received the iOS notification of the new 14.3 update but I whole heartedly recommended doing it ASAP!!! Thanks again Pat for the instant assistance!

Got the new swam sounds and now I’m using it all da time. I hadn’t been using gel shred since I got my linstrument, but when I saw there was new swam sounds were out I was so excited. Geo shred is really in depth and can do a lot so it’s always been cool to have, but now it’s my favorite. The only thing that made me cry in sadness was there is no swam Bari Sax and no pitz strings. But one can hope for more offerings I would assume. I still want some of the full fledged Mac OS swam sounds but they are so pricey and this crutches the itch for sure. Just spent the whole day recording violin and clarinet played on linnstrument out my portable interface and into my ensemble and into some songs I’m working on in logic on the Mac. Also spent lots of time just recording new arrangement ideas with the new geo swam with inter app audio to garage band. So fun. Anyhow this update means I’ll be constantly geo shredding with my linnstrument. Would love to see Apple Pencil support for pressure, kinda sill but it can be fun to play melodies with in other apps.

Great music. Really do enjoy this app just make music for myself, try to find a place for it in every song, everything works perfect, I couldn’t figure something out sent message to support next day there was the answer, can’t ask anything more from a great app and great company always look forward to the next update thank you

Unique and advanced instrument. It's honestly a pretty great invention. It functions like an actual instrument because it is one— and the options available for instrumentation are vast. On top of that, there are fine tunings that can be done with each instrumentation, and with SWAM instruments it gets even better. Although the program does have a few issues with GarageBand, that is due to GarageBand rather than GeoShred. I would recommend merging GeoShred recordings immediately after creating them (quantize first if you want, of course), as at times the audio will completely disappear after reopening GarageBand. Merging is an easy and effective solution. Highly recommend especially due to the SWAM instruments.

The app is continually updated with new sounds, functionality, and professionalism. If you are serious about music making or just want to experience the best of music making apps iOS can offer, this app is for you.

Most expressive music app on iOS. I am a guitar player so the layout makes perfect sense to me and i think the way you can be fully expressive with this app makes it such an inspiring and incredible fun experience. Plus is so much essier to shred with this app than an actual guitar hahah. I love all the many instrument sound possibilities of it too. Great effects built in as well and so many crazy in depth features for almost anything. This app deserves to be seen as a unique instrument in its own right. Get it even if you are not a musician or a virtuoso. This app is fun for everyone no matter what skill level you are on. 👍👍👍👍 Great technical support and developer too! Expressive sounds; great customer service. In addition to what is probably the best music controller for the iPad, the sounds, especially the GeoSwam sounds, are designed to be used perfectly with the LinnStrument, Roli, and other MPE controllers. And there are real people behind the scenes to fix problems and introduce new features. Very impressive!

GeoShred. This app is generally good but why does the controller not work properly?I try to use the midi controller doesn’t work why doesn’t the midi controller work this is supposed to be a virtual instrument?Well control the instrument there is no sound that will work. I’m giving this two stars because I pay $20 for it now and I don’t feel like paying again I wanna know Why the functions don’t work as advertised? There’s way too many bugs on garage band why is there so many bugs on garage band? I want my money back

Great controls! Expensive though. This app is really easy and fun to use. Very expressive surface. I like that you can set the notes/keys so that whatever you play will sound in harmony. I give it 3 stars though because it’s so dang expensive. I normally don’t like paying $25 for an app but I figured it would be worth it from the videos I watched. What I did not know was that I would have to keep shelling out $25+ for different instruments that are greyed out in the menu! If you want the whole set it would turn out to be something like $100+, that’s a bit ridiculous. Having this kind of product/price model really turns me off and I lost interest.

Yeah buddy!. I have enjoyed GeoShred for years now. It was already one of the best musical instrument apps anywhere. The SWAM instruments that have just been released as in-app-purchases for GeoShred are brilliant. They sound really great, and are very expressive. Like many people, I have many music-making apps on iOS, including many great ones. With the addition of the SWAM instruments, I would put GeoShred at the very top of the list!

I love it so far!. If you’re getting this to use in GarageBand after having the Play version, I had to reboot my device for GarageBand to see it in the AUV3 choices. Just a heads up if anyone else has this issue! The developers got back to me right away after my original review! I have some suggestions, I’d love to see more classic acoustic guitars and electric ones. Will there be any coming up? For using in other apps and possibly with a keyboard, a way to adjust the glide on both the keyboard settings and within the midi edit (overlapping bars for example), and a key gesture for momentary vibrato when using the keyboard to play (like sliding up while holding the key). My only gripe is the control UI (settings and such) making basic sliders or buttons instead of knobs would be helpful (this is an issue for me in every app with circular knobs lol). Maybe a simple menu UI option with straight forward labels? When choosing the custom scale it was a bit confusing so tagging the notes would also be helpful for people who are more familiar with the notes themselves rather than “major, minor” and a couple I’ve not heard of like “P”.

Geo Shred Pro - The Dream. The Wizard and Master JR has entered the Dream World with this App. I have not even scratched the surface and my mind is absolutely going wild thinking of all the possibilities. Wow! Are you kidding me. I am so impressed and thankful for all the hard work and years it must have taken to get to this point in a App so very powerful. I feel as if I now have entered into a Dream World with a Brand New Instruments just waiting to be explored and enjoyed. Thank You Jordan .... Simply Awesome! By the way I have listened to every Dream Theater Album You Guys have produced and Love them all .... Rock On!!! ❤️ One thing I do not understand is why I have to Restore my purchases every day? Absolutely amazing instrument and controller - best I’ve ever played. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but knowing that this came from the genius of Jordan Rudess, I knew that it wasn’t going to disappoint. I have to admit that at this point, this has completely blown my mind! This is the most playable instrument I’ve ever played, virtual or physical. Once you get the hang of how it works, I doubt you will be able to put this down before your fingers start bleeding! I also love the fact that I can use this with AUM as a controller for other instruments hooked up in AUM. No other MIDI controller comes anywhere near close to the expressiveness that’s possible with this controller. I also have it on my iPhone 7 Plus which has 3D Touch and even on its small screen, this is amazingly playable. This is the kind of app that touch screens were made for and really showcases their potential. I can’t believe it took me so long to find this. If you’re in the market for an amazing MIDI controller that’s playable and expressive, then your search has ended. Just hit that “BUY” button already!

Lost saved patches & crackling sounds on upgrade. I liked this once-very-cool app despite terrible UI/UX (at least on iPhone: horribly small menus and hard to use layout). But now I’m very sad to report that after upgrading my many custom patches were deleted without feedback, and even worse the sound now crackles with noise on touch. I've turned off 3D touch and tried other means to solve this with no luck. Since I’m here, let me note the built-in patches all have way too much reverb and delay, which is why I edited (and now lost forever) many custom patches. If the interface wasn’t so clunky and non-standard I would continue trying to fix the noise issue and get this app to work for me but it’s too much of a pain! For reference I have an iphone 7 with the latest iOS and latest app version. Also, I always contact the app developer if I have technical issues before leaving a bad review but could not locate contact info in the ugly help pages.

An absolute dream come true. After toying with different synths and IOS apps for years this one takes the cake. It has added a whole new level of expression to the roli sea block I had just purchased a few weeks ago. This program has greatly enabled me to to play with one hand what used to require 2 hands and a pedal to do in live gigs without lengthy preparation. Thank You Jordan!

Absolute Musikal Wisdom. Well played dear friend of the Friend! This app is lyrical Perfection! I have been in the musical realm since I was 5 years old î am now 44...I have seen the evolution of midi practically entirely and so far this has been the most exponential leap so far regarding a whole new world of possibilities not only in a guitar world spectrum but also in a sound of its own as a synth like generator or simply the smartest and most expressive instrument app interface midi controller ever , I’ve seen them aaaaallll !!! period!

The best music app on the store! 5 star app and support.. Pat and team have created the best music app out there. It’s incredible. The intuitive surface, the control, the sounds, MIDI…this is the one. It’s not only fun but it is a professional level app. Definitely my most used app. I reach for it daily. The support is also very hands on when needed, with prompt, regular updates and tutorial videos. It’s my most gifted app, it’s really that good. Well worth the price and then some.

Super Natural.... ... is the only way to describe playing GeoShred. From slides to vibrato sustains, this is the way my fingers and hands seem to naturally do it. I like noodling and jamming along with acoustic instruments, and the GS let’s me blend in and not be all hyper digital or artificial. I just grab the iPad and MiniRig and I’m ready to go just like the trumpet guy who’s all setup in like 2 min. And the new SWAM models put the experience right over the edge - for real!

I didn’t realize how much I needed this!. I am a keyboardist that write guitar heavy music. I also write string arrangements for my own music. Since I neither play guitar or strings, I bought GeoShred so I can more accurately create reference tracks to send to my guitarists and string players that represents what I am looking for when they recreate their parts. But, I’ve been so happy with the results, I’ve decided to keep some of those parts as solos on GeoShred instead of handing them off to other musicians. The sounds are wonderful and expressive, though maybe a tad bit over processed. But the GUI is becoming a valuable tool, not only for guitar and string parts, but also bass guitar parts and lead synth lines. My iPad has now become a midi controller in my rig instead of an alternate sound source and program change device. I’m very happy with this product!

This is AMAZING1. Whether you’re a professional musician or have no skill at all this is great. The amount of sounds and effects you get for the money is worth it. I haven’t fully opened this baby up yet too. I’m looking forward to cool updates, new sounds and features. If Jordan Rudess uses this on tour and making albums ANYONE can use it for anything! Buy it, you’ll love it!

GeoSwam Bundle. Moforte support is best in class. I had been using the GeoSaxTenor on iphone 6+ 14.1 and iphone 11 plus 14.2 with very good results. I then upgrade to the bundle and iPad mini and pro. The stock GeoShred sounds work fine and I got better results with this interface than I have with SWAM on Mac. These great sounds load quickly. I would give it 10 stars as it works much better for me than the very expensive Mac versions which I never was able to get set up correctly. Too many settings to deal with. Using the AU adds challenges as other apps can get interfere so you have to be careful. No documentation regarding techniques using MPE controller by t support can help.

Very expressive and configurable Instrument. I love this instrument! It’s right up there with ThumbJam with regards to expressive capabilities and very detailed configurability. GeoShred and Thumbjam are both amazing. Each has some unique features that the other doesn’t, so I find myself switching back and forth depending on my needs. I’ve played guitar and keyboards most of my life, but I now find these are my most frequently used instruments. GeoShred will crash on me at times, where it stops sounding notes. When this happens, I stop and restart it, which clears the problem (My iPad is at IOS v15.6). I still give it 5 stars, since it is a work horse, as well as a true joy to make music with. I also might add that customer support for GeoShred is outstanding. I posted a bug in the ‘report a problem’ section of the help feature on a Saturday, and to my surprise, Pat responded to my issue within an hour. He then continued to work with me to try and resolve the problem. Bravo!

I literally bought an iPad for this app.. I’ve been a Jordan Rudess fan for years now, as he’s my main inspiration as a keys player. I’ve seen him live in person a few times, but also subscribe to his Patreon for his livestreams and instructional videos, and he advertised this fantastic app. The catch though is that (for now) it’s an iOS exclusive, so I saved up my money for an iPad and I have to say it’s been well worth it. The sounds, the controls, the variety, the tools to set up your own “instruments”, the ability to use MIDI controllers, even the visuals are appealing and intuitive. This app is so robust it may as well be its own instrument, and indeed there are people out there who call themselves “GeoShred players”. I love it, and as a music teacher I share it with my students and coworkers who also really enjoy it too. Well worth the price in every respect.

Can’t believe I had not heard of this. Wow. Just wow. I was looking for some new sound apps for my iPad and stumbled upon this app. I was not prepared. If you love guitar or keyboard this is for you. So many useful sounds and presets straight out of the box. I’ve been watching tutorial videos and discovering all the capabilities this app has and I can’t put it down. Combine it with other synths through midi or run it through guitar effects apps and you have an endless variety of sounds to play and a unique and fun way to play them. Just buy it already.

Best Interface-Best Sounds!. A real delight to play, create and stretch the fabric of music itself. A professional effort from front to back, yet ease of use is emphasized rather than made to suffer. To boast the full collection of instruments might be an area for future thoughts towards offering additional subsets to support various ensemble needs. Think of Brubeck 5: or other smaller ensembles. The sounds themselves are top shelf. I immediately understood why they aren’t given away on street corners. Very much like playing a superior and delightfully constructed instrument after playing one’s of lesser quality’s; the better instrument makes you play better. The same is true with all the instruments; the quality is better than most and it makes you sound better because you want so much to dive into their rich and unending textures. My last observation comes from being a disabled user of GeoShred; limited use of digits on the control surface keyboard is not the same obstacle the well adopted ‘piano’ visual metaphor is. Good job of ‘thinking outside the 88’s’! I judge the value of any app by how much fun I have using it. 5 star design and concepts. 5 star implementation. I’ve run out of stars!

Amazing!. Leave it to Jordan to actually invent an instrument! Our simple earthling instruments were no challenge haha. This is really amazing ... it actually always feels musical and each patch/instrument inspires it’s own individual way… Responds to humanity if that makes sense. … the editing capabilities are insane (they were like 50 scales I’ve never even heard of (which I’m not completely sure arent made up names to mess w us jk haha)available in this thing and even though I’m guitar player I can appreciate a flawless octave switch… You can fly through the octaves without missing anything. I’ll admit I was intrigued because I consider Mr. Rudess To be not only the most technically gifted that the most beautifully melodic and brilliant musician I’ve ever witnessed… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at how many mediately addicted to this is from it and I’ve already recorded a solo on my own music.I freaking love innovators ... especially when they’re from Long Island (Manhasset 🤘🏽). New update issues/Redeemed!!. The new update will not let me overwrite the presets. The old version would. I am very displeased with this update. Please fix the save functions to allow adjusting how many pads and strings I want and saving the adjustments. I can’t even save as with new updates. Please fix this. Thanks for fixing this problem with the latest update. This instrument is now 5 star material once more. You guys rock!!

Best iOS touch instrument!!!!. This app is amazing, I bought it before it ever had any MIDI control hoping they would eventually add MIDI out like they promised and they did. It’s a fantastic instrument on it’s own, but the MIDI control makes it even better to control other iOS synthesizers, etc. I’m not a guitar player, but this app really can let you do some pretty cool guitar like solos that I’d never be able to do on a keyboard. Using my Seaboard Block with it is a breeze and makes me wish I had the full seaboard 49 just to play around with GeoShred They just added AUv3!! Wow, I never would have dreamed it would happen. My only complaint is now the tracking doesn’t seem quite right when I play with my Seaboard Block when it’s being used as AUv3. I’m going to email them about this, and I’m sure it will get sorted out eventually, as this is the first update that added AUv3. Thanks MoForte and Jordan Rudess for this app!!

Well thought out guitar for keyboardists and vice versa. Buy it now. Buy it now is what this review as well as most of the others will probably end with so top reading this and just do it! Clearly, years of experience both in live performance and suffering through bad interfaces has lead to this instrument. Out of the box you have tools to inspire. The Palm mute level, stiffness, whammy, 2nd harmonic etc are all brilliantly realized and something that you didn’t know you needed but really,really do. The starting collection of sounds is robust and a joy. An experienced performer will not regret what I’m going to recommend. BUY IT NOW!

This is revolutionary. I used to have a Roli seaboard and that was my first experience with an instrument that I felt revolutionized instrument synthesizers and the expression that we are able to put into our sound. This is so much better in my opinion. The actual quality of the sounds is incredible and probably the biggest reason why I love this. You can literally record an orchestra piece by piece and produce a sound that is convincing and absolutely incredible. The other thing that makes this different is the expression that you’re able to put into your playing by sliding your notes and creating natural vibrato rather than using a wheel or joystick.

6 still amazed…... I was completely surprised when I was trying to adjust ? I saw strum. That has been a dream for as long as the side to side pitch. Without reading, I wanted to hear what it was like to hear strum for the first time. I got three strings to work. I had two initial problems. I lost volume, then it crashed. I’m sure I caused it. I was working on a modified preset still called the same but nowhere near the original. I have the board nearly perfect for me. Just plain beautiful. I would love more dry guitar models if you have time. To me from the start I knew it wouldn’t be duplicated. Now, to me, it doesn’t seem to have any upper limitations as far as future development. In six, I noticed a sonic difference. It might be me but even through iPad speakers, there is a difference. Strumming, can’t believe it. Thank you, - Charlie

The best. It’s an outstanding software , just insane . Great price . Cannot believe .The maestro Jordan Rudess behind the creation , What can I say more.I would have given 6 stars if if I could if there were more options for backing tracks such as more factory backing tracks and more backing tracks with every instrument than can synchronise scale and tune with the scale and tune a player is playing.

Awesome Instrument. This has been the best developed IOS instrument and the recent updates have only made it better. For those that do not know Jordan Rudess should know that his passion is to make music touchable for everyone. You can just play away or you can go deep with the MIDI and MDE capabilities and presets that blow your mind as you dig into the settings and form your own sounds. This instrument is built for the music pro, but is completely accessible to anyone with an interest in starting to explore music. It is well worth having in your arsenal of electronic musical instruments.

The sounds are an excellent way to express your music, and what you feel from your heart. I urge any and all musicians to purchase this and play your own expressions your inner self, from your heart. Superb app, fantastic support. I got GeoShred Pro a day ago, and it all sounded great, but because I was using it in GarageBand, the interfaces didn’t always play well together. But within one day, Pat fixed the problem via a Zoom call. The issue is definitely with GarageBand, not GeoShred, but Pat knew a workaround that solved the GarageBand issue. The team is super supportive and knowledgeable and willing to take time to solve any issue you may have. (Just read other reviews; they ALWAYS respond to any problem a user might have. That alone makes the team better than 90%.) The app itself is as good as any app I’ve used in my 12 years on the iPad. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Worth every penny and more. -George

Music in its beauty!. I came across to GeoShred due to Mahesh Raghvan! Being in a musical background and close to Indian music I downloaded and started playing the on GeoShred which gave Indian music and ragas to the whole new level. Later to find out that it's been developed and released by Jordan Rudess whom I am a great fan of and following his music for last 15-20 years. Thank you all who have worked hard behind developing GeoShred!

Auv3. Please could You fix the message that I need to upgrade to pro to use this amazing sound as a plug-in inside Cubasis? I have been using it for some time now it tells me I have to upgrade to pro. Again? I purchased the upgrade and also some presets.. After solving a little issue with another app GeoShred is working perfectly. Maybe the best guitar sounds app I have ever seen

Musical ingenuity at it’s finest.. I can’t say enough about this fantastic app. It has an ever-expanding range of instruments that range from the super synthy to rich orchestral sounds. I have been using this app as a key instrument in my own productions, and it intergrates seamlessly with GarageBand for recording. It’s just a whole lot of fun for not a lot of money, and can give you another tool for your sonic arsenal.

Disappointed for lead sound. I was a guitar player and bought this app for jamming. My idea of using this app was to play some chords in background and just jam on this app. You can do that but the major problem with this application is that even after paying about 24 dollars the sound you are getting are of synthesizer and do not even come close to electric guitar Editing my review and admitting I was wrong . Played around with this application and yes it is quite good and quite capable of delivering. Now only issue I have is that it doesn’t have a lot of presets for lead guitar. But still considering the amount of pedals. Midi support and actually revolutionary interface definitely worth the price

Best iPad Music App. I have a lot of music apps, but I keep coming back to play GeoShred. The built-in patches are beautifully programmed and show off the versatility of sound that can be created with advanced physical modeling. The playing surface allows me to control pitch as if I had a magical fretless instrument capable of amazing intonation. Obviously the work of the Wizard! Also cool is the mode that can display only the “right” notes of a scale which is amazing for beginners as well as pros. It’s a powerful platform that is not only a sound engine but also one of the most powerful MPE-style MIDI controllers that I have ever experienced, and I have worked with a lot of hardware such as the Roli Seaboard and Linnstrument. I was able to access tons of support material online and I must say that this developer is one of best at continuing to update and support this app.

Oh, man... What an app. I love working with Aunty's, but one of the limiting factors for most synths is that they're built around piano keyboards. There are a class of apps that avoid that, though, and geoshred is by far the best of them that I've found, having multiple modes and features that make it natural and flexible to use. It's been fantastic for composition, and as an MPE controller it's absolutely the best I've used. Highly, highly recommended. If you like chasing sound, this is your Swiss army knife. Amazing.

A real instrument!. I like this very much. This is a very interesting instrument. I play Indian music, among others, and I find myself playing relatively easily. I gave it only four stars (That is now changed to five!) because it’s hard to access all the info, and I hate having to step through to find the sound if it’s #60, for instance. (Received new info... thank you!) Otherwise, a very interesting and playable instrument. I happen to love the tuning in 4ths, my instrument has that so I find things easily here. Also would love to have some more and better acoustic sounds. UPDATE; I have received more info, and now I’m really liking this TOTALLY NEW INSTRUMENT! Five stars ! more discoveries await, including better acoustic instrument sounds. VERY playable!

Best music app ever. After the update, I purchased Geo Violins and it worked fine without issues. But I just tried to open the non purchased item (Cello) , then the app crashed all of a sudden. Thereafter I couldn’t open the app. I had to uninstall the app and re-install it. Please fix this bug

Serious Instrument!. I just received the entire collection 1 and 2 for free from these incredible developers because I had written to simply ask about their GeoPizzBass instrument. They replied to my query within ten minutes and assuming they are in North America and I am in Australia; this proved to be the most rapid customer service I’ve ever received. This review is to highlight three things. 1. Their service is as good as could be wished for. 2. They were kind enough to give me 180 dollars (Aus) worth of instruments for free! 3. Geoshred is one serious bit of technology and not to be underestimated by any means. If I could give an extra star for just how happy I am today I would and then I would add another for luck. Musical excellence with flexible usability. I can’t speak highly enough of this app. The quality of sound is second to none and allows amateur musicians to produce fantastic music. Due to a mid-life health issue that has left me with a disability in both hands that hampers my physical guitar and keyboard playing, GeoShred is a superb instrument app that has improved my playing out of sight. Play the app in standalone mode, utilise within AUM or Audiobus as a keyboard for multiple other app instances. A must get for any guitarist. This is the best instrument I have on the iPad. As a guitarist, the layout and controls makes it so easy for me to play musical and expressive melodies. Plus the preset sounds are amazing. Internal audio into Cubasis works great. I can't wait til this gets midi out to control any synth I want.

An incredible Instrument!. This is going to be one of my go to apps. I was a bit skeptical because it looks a bit like Geosynth and I never really got use to that app. Also, MIDI hasn't been implemented yet so I thought it might be limited. Boy was I wrong. The sound modeling takes this app to a whole different level. The sounds are large and can be infinitely manipulated in ways that are musical.. I highly recommend.

No word can describe it. This is really a real musical instrument, if you master it enough it allows you to perform all the emotions that a real instrument has. And I think it's easier to play than a real instrument, but the emotional effect is amazing. Respect !👏👏👏

It charged me more $69.99 for Collection II, the emails say it’s normally priced at $59.99, but currently on sale for $49.99. So I paid more than the regular price while it’s on sale? Same thing happened when I bought collection I of the GeoSWAM instruments..

laggy hard to use lots of pops ups n ads. editing my review note so im not as aggressive, app works fine as an auv3 its a little laggy, theres some discrepensies being theres alot of popups interupting workflow, the sounds imo arent the best and isnt what i was expecting for all the hype, but the fact theres paywalls behind every other preset im just gunna look for another app, and its not about the money just annoying to see comapnies try and trick you into thinking you need to spend 200$ for their in app purchases

One of the best. Still the best of its kind. There are some great apps for IOS to make music. This one stands out amongst them. The sounds, the interface, the control, MIDI connectivity, the flexibility, all are amazing. Just watch a few videos that showcase it and you will want it. Have fun. One thing; I just read a review that raves about this app as being amazing for so many reasons and said it was his favorite app, but the idiot gave it 4 stars. What planet are these people on? I suppose he would say he leaves 5 stars for something not yet developed that is even better. He needs to know that if a better one comes that he still has a star left to give. I wish I knew what was in that bozos brain. I rarely use name calling but in this case I have no choice. I see a whole bunch of 5 star reviews and only one 4 star going back 2 years. How can the overall rating be 4.8? Come on Apple, these apps are making you a lot of cash, at least get the ratings right.

Great app. I’m really in love with this app. I’m still learning and exploring the fun. It’s so well blended with the eastern music. The preset Mahesh Raghvan is my favourite among Asian. It is very helpful for Hindustani and South Indian musicians as it provides the opportunity to recall raga notes. Moreover ease to play with western scales and others.. amazing.. from me it’s a thumbs up and every musician should give it a try at least once.

Brilliant. The interface for this app, the way the playing surface is designed, takes the concept of "instrument" on a touch screen to a new place. It's easy to move around, it's easy to slur and bend, it's easy to modulate. Instead of a short "keyboard", you get the whole screen. If you're a guitar player, you'll get this. If you're any kind of a musician, you'll get this. The built in sounds are great, the ability to create new presets is great, and addition of being able to use this with other midi apps as a controller is out of this world. Animoog gets raves for its keyboard - Animoog driven by Geoshred is a whole new level.

Wow!. This is the best software ever! The music is so easy to play, learn and it has the best sound ever! I am a rhythm type person. So in the future if you can do an update for rhythm I would highly appreciate that.

This is seriously the best. What a great app, I immediately wanted it with guitar tablature and music scores with a Clavinova electric piano with the Nord electric piano sound setting button, a built in bass pad on the side with a separate out to a BOSE side table subwoofer. Type c input for my iPad Pro to record the GeoShred track as recording capability is built in the Clavinova model.

Fantastic App!!. Amazing sounding instruments with fully responding to the touch to glide between notes or to apply softness or volume and vibrato directly from the keys while playing. A very close approximation to Indian String instruments. I have tried Geo Sarangi and is close to a real Sarangi sound and something that can’t be produced by using mere sampling techniques. Great algorithm which produces sound in real time. A must have application for a musician whether it’s for casual use or professional.

Omg. Wow just wow! I’m a singer and not very proficient on any instrument except voice. This is a game changer! It’s like I don’t have to be a guitar player for 20 years and 10,000 hours to just create something simple and sweet to sing to or just have fun and jam. Just what I was looking for.. This app allows me to express myself musically in a way I previously couldn’t. This is my new favourite instrument, and it’s reassuring to see that the devs work to make it better. I also love using it as a controller. Very flexible, although I mist admit, I need to learn more about the nuances of midi and its settings.

Essential for the iOS musician. I just bought this app and I was a little hesitant at first, but. MAN am I glad I bought it! It has so much functionality and expressiveness I can safely say that it’s an instrument in itself. The interface lets you play the way you want without having to be a keyboardist, so you can improvise at will and not lose interest. The thing I just discovered, which makes it immediately indispensable is the midi out controls. I loaded it in AUM, routed it’s output to iFretless bass and BAM! Instant bass lines that I can USE!! Is it me?. I love this app...and have yet to dive in all the possibilities it has. But it crashes quite often and sometimes I have no sound, app is on and everything looks normal except NO SOUND. Is it me? Am I shredding to fast for the GeoShred? Are my fingers too quick to process? haha But seriously , what could I be doing to cause it to crash ? Is this ever going to work with SWAM properly?. I have had this worki png with IOS SWAM trumpet at least twenty times in the past but lately when i try to use geoshred to control it i cannot get it to work no matter how many different settings i use…..

Long time user. I have used this software for over a year. I find the interface intuitive and I have used backing tracks to get ideas for solos. I have used it as a midi controller for iOS synths and as an mpe synth with my Linnstrument for a portable practice session.

GeoShred is amazing. This is one of the coolest instruments to come out in years. It is in no joking way it’s own instrument. GeoShred is extremely responsive. Has more customizability than most hardware synths and sounds absolutely amazing. This is a must have in every way!

IOS 14.1 issues. I have experimented with more than 100 apps from Orphion, animoog, Getrument, Roli’s noise etc. For Indian classical the Geo with Swam add-in standout. 4 of 5 times I pick my Geo to play. Hopefully the upgrade scale temperament issues will go away soon. Geo guys (Pat) gave me a temporary fix and it works. I am impressed with the speed with which they acted. I am back with 5 stars. Old comment: Swam add-in are beautiful but scales are topsy turvy after IOS 14.1 upgrade. But for this this was the player of my choice.

Amazing Instrument With Amazing Sounds. I played the trumpet in High School, and this is the closest I’ve ever come to playing the trumpet with out an actual trumpet amazing sound ranges on all the SWAM plugins. It’s almost indistinguishable from a real trumpet.

I need some help.. I use GarageBand because I like the way it’s organized. I have everything connected to it. The problem I’m having is that I can’t access the GeoShred sounds I bought because the GeoShred screen is too large to fit within GarageBand’s window. The list of sounds is at the very top of the screen, which is covered by GarageBand’s options bar. It’s like watching a TV that’s behind a narrow clerestory window. I just need a tip or two, thank you.

How do you load the Swam collection bought on another iPad that I also own?. Restore purchases did not work

Amazing melodic app. As a non guitarist keyboardist and percussionist who loves slide and harmonics, this is the most musical app I have ever seen. Great midi connection to logic via usb, no latency, incredible feel, and if your into Indian music it’s got a huge raga library. Unbelievable, 5 stars is not enough!

Reason I Bought A IPad. GeoShred is the reason I bought a IPad. I’m loving using this app, and I’m having a blast. I highly recommend it. Evening if your not musically inclined you’ll still have so much fun.

Awesome stand-alone or as a controller. Playing sounds within the app is amazing, as many other reviews have stated. However, I’m happiest about the updates that have made it a great MIDI controller with MPE. I’ve used it with other iOS apps, as well as with hardware synths, and I love it! And now the latest updates with the SWAM instruments — absolutely incredible.

Exceptional. What I find surprising is that for all the keyboard and midi controllers I own ( which I list later), the iPad/iPhone app does some nuances of sound and music better. I use ROLI seaboards 25/49, the kx-5 Yamaha ‘key tar’, plus more conventional aftertouch keys. Nicely done! Second, the modeling is the direction we need for creative expression. While I appreciate samples and will continue to use these in recording your models are killing it! Thanks and keep up the great work on these products!

Where is geoshred 5. Hello geoshred is awesome however you guys stated that geoshred 5 would be released q2 of 2020. I understand the Covid shut down but the year is almost 2021. GeoShred at the Center. As a developer and composer, GeoShred on a new iPad Pro 12.9 has been revolutionary for me. There is no touch screen technology, for any platform, as capable or as latency free as is this new iPad, and in combination with GeoShred, even if used only as controller, the possibilities for expression are mind blowing.

Excellent piece of gear. Great for when inspiration hits, wherever, whenever, my iPad is usually on me, so I just launch GPro, and put the inspiration into action, save it, then export it to Ableton Live. Easy easy, and great sounds.

Not working as Inter app audio with garageband. Don’t know why but Geoshred is not opening as inter app with garagebnd. Tried several times and it says, it is not available at this time. Plz help. Further, it’s working fine with Cubasis as inter app

Genius. To make an app, a digital musical instrument that is so easily to perform with live or in the studio takes the work of a genius. I love music in the study for quite a few years on saxophone and keyboards and this Geo shred app is teaches; it opens your musical imagination to new horizons. Two thumbs up!!

So expressive!. The more I play with GeoShred Pro, the more it blows my mind. There are so many levels of control to create the subtlety and nuance you desire for any performance. The team at MoForte was also great at helping me out when needed. All around a great app and addition to your musical arsenal!

An actual instrument!. This is a truly useful instrument that can work in pretty much any musical environment, this would be a blast for non musicians to have fun with and it’s serious enough to be something seasoned performers and recording artists can make professional use of.

Favorite iOS expression tool. This app is so great for coming up with melodies and works seamlessly with GarageBand iOS. My only complaint is in using this on the iPad Pro 11 inch the screen resolution is no longer optimized for the rounded corners. A minor nitpick for an app that has no equal!

Issue with restore SWAM purchases. I accidentally hit the restore while in the store. My SWAM instruments now have no sound. I have done another restore and restarted my IPad with no fix. GeoShred other sounds play correctly, only the SWAM sounds are not working. Everything was working fine before the restore.

Just Right. This is just a necessary tool if you want to unlock the potential of synth apps without external gear. It’s the best of it’s kind. Support was fast and helpful when I came across a problem. Even though the issue was in another app’s settings, they helped me resolve it rapidly.

Precision and feel equal shred capabilities. Really wish I had the fretboard speed and accuracy as well as the bend capabilities on a real guitar that are easy to achieve on this. Playing like Jeff Beck, shredding like EVH and it feels so easy as it gives a feeling of playing like the pros

Update fixed IAP check. Thank you for deleting the IAP check on startup. After it checked once on first startup, it now no longer makes me click “cancel” and be annoyed by IAP popup. AS PROMISED, I updated my rating of your otherwise great product!

It takes time. It’s a whole different way to play and it takes time to get good at it. But, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s just a toy. I’ve started using it in my original music and it’s a whole new instrument. Also it is fun. It’s worth the price.

Great instrument. Wish the piano sounded more like a piano or at lease a keyboard. I love this app! I am enjoying the instrument very much. I look forward to adding it to my set up and see how it sounds through my PA system. I saw your reply, and now understand that “piano” is a style and not a distinct sound change. I did want to look into using midi flow to operate the settings on the Geo app with a separate iPad to see if that is possible. Thanks, Gary

An awesome instrument in itself. Not only is the GeoShred interface a blast to play in its own, adding compatibility with other MPE controllers like the Jamstik takes it to an even higher level. The GeoSWAMM sounds are amazing and inspiring too!

This app is Legendary. I discovered this innovative app about 3 years ago,I’m still learning all the pro techniques, this MPE technology has been something amazing !! Can’t believe how versatile and on point the touchscreen is with an app like this, making music just got a lot more enjoyable with this app

Sounds just like the real thing. When I showed this app to my dad, who has been playing electric guitar for over 50 years, the smile on his face was huge! The pitch slides you can pull off with no effort are mind blowing! This sounds better than any other guitar simulation I have ever heard.

Great new instrument. I’m playing keys for 60 years, best new instrument . Played it in five minutes, it’s sharpening my scale work . I love it. Need to keep experimenting with the sounds. My guitar playing will soon hate me.

Geoshred 5.0 with Swam integration. Geoshred is absolutely my favorite and most used music application. Having Sax and other instruments built in will be better than using midi to interface with other apps that have sax.

Really cool instrument. It's laid out like a guitar, so if you already play guitar, this is a very simple instrument to learn to play. You'll be shredding in no time. The sound quality is excellent, and it's a lot of fun to play. Basically $24 well spent. I plan to use this during live shows. Do it!

Latest update crashes after brief appearance of loading screen.. App worked fine before the latest update - but now only briefly displays the loading screen before disappearing/crashing. GeoShred Play does not have the same problem. What’s up guys? I did restart my iPhone after the update but to no avail. Will raise my rating once this issue is corrected. Review to be amended soon, hopefully.

Game Changer. This app has opened up so many performance possibilities in my compositions. Geoshred gives all the Swam sounds a realistic sound and feel. I recommend to all that seek realistic solo brass and string sounds.

Love it but, help. This is a wonderful instrument i’m only just now scratching the surface. It’s incredibly fun and expressive 🤘🏽 Only issues I’m having is I’m unable to save 444hz global tuning, it always reverts to 440 hz 😵 Also problems loading up in AUM and audiobus quite often

Geo Rocks !!. GeoShred is a great recording tool. I have yet to use it live. I’ve used some of the GTR settings in addition to Asian influences on some recordings. A collaborator in recording who is long time audio engineer was totally blown away by the effects I could produce thru an iPad ..... great job !

Amazing app, easy to jump in and play.. Amazing app so far waiting to see how it handles midi. Started jamming with pop radio while waiting a particular long time for me and my wife’s dinner order, literally first time I played with it and people were asking about the app.

What happened. All my Swams are gone they won’t restore. Love the tones but now I can’t use them at all. I just got a response from tech support,they were fantastic. Thanks for all the help. Now I can make music again.

GeoShred is beyond Guitar.... What I particularly like about GeoShred is how you can stretch beyond the standard guitar cliches and really make some wicked sounding stuff. I made some presets using the Key Num and Key Step feature that really blew by ears out of the water. Look at Twisted Frets for starters. I run on an iPad2 running iOS 9.3

Magic at your fingertips. This will be one App. I’ll use till I’m 90 …if I make it that far. Such a brilliantly design and it is so much an instrument all to itself,…it allows your heart and soul to come through in your playing , just like a physical instrument.
