Not good. Gotta pay to see anything so it’s not free. Also, not worth paying. I wanted it to find local places to go and didn’t find that here really
Can’t Navigate. I couldn’t get past the “Tap to Exit” screen to proceed. Deleted app.
This app is a joke!. I thought this app would provide me with local farmers, coops and stores with the best organic options. Instead it gave me the location of the nearest Holiday gas station grocery store and Walmart. It won’t let me choose zero stars so I was forced to choose 1 star!
Another accessibility failure by a sloppy developer. I really want to use and like this app, because I admire the foundation. But since all of their categories, when seen by voiceover users, have numbers instead of the helpful name of the actual category, it's really not too useful. We get a picture with a picture of text if were cited. If we're voiceover users, we get useless random numbers. Fail! Labeling controls is one of the longest standing accessibility requirements in the industry. off
Huh?. Sounds like a promising app, but hasn't yet delivered for me. The only locations I see around me are Publix, Win Dixie, and Walmart. Meanwhile, I have a very well known heritage farm about a quarter mile away that isn't listed. I don't need an app to tell me where to find every Publix... isn't the whole point to give me alternatives? Good premise, but deserves another try.
Requires Additional account. I Purchased the app at $4.99/mo. Sadly, that is not enough to gain access to the entire database- I still have to sign up for an account!? Search Filters not working: I entered keywords “olive oil“, using the filters “available in stores“ and “best“. The result included coconut water! and all kinds of things available ONLINE. I subscribe to the WAPF journal and receive their printed Shopping Guide.
App tells me subscription expired when it’s not. I cancelled my subscription because I was getting charged but when I tried to use the app it tells me the subscription was expired. In fact right now I’m looking at the iTunes Store and it says that it expires on January 18, which is 6 days from now but I can’t use the app. I’ve been throwing away my money and not getting any value. I only found one local shop I didn’t know about before. Not worth it.
Costco and Walmart - Are you kidding?. I am a very dedicated foodie, in particular about what ingredients go into what I eat and am a follower of Weston A Price Foundation. When I first used the app, I was SHOCKED to see there were locations such as Costco and Walmart listed. How could there be any decent foods there!!?!? But I clicked on those stores and saw what products were carried, and the ingredients of those products, and I figured that those foods were good ones. I really can't believe Costco and Walmart and now carrying a few products there that are acceptable! Other than that, the app has been helpful and I've learned some new stuff. OpTX
New to natural food, found the app very useful. I had been wanting to clean up my family's diet for a while and I have a pretty good idea of what to stay away from but I really don't know what brands and foods to buy. I became a member of the Weston A. Price Foundation about a year ago, and their traditional foods approach made sense to me. But I'm not going to read every ingredient on everything I buy! This app has been very helpful in that regard. There are some helpful reviews from other users, and I like that I can quickly see what ingredients to avoid for each different food type from the "how foods are chosen section".
Amazing resource. I love having this as a resource in my pocket. Eating healthy foods is very important to me, and with all the marketing and confusion as to what’s natural, what’s not, its really hard to tell sometimes. The app has a ton of brands and products in all kinds food categories; there are user reviews to help see what other people have said about them; then you can see on a map if they are sold near you (and for those that aren’t sold in stores, or at least ones nearby, the app lets you call the brand or links to the shopping section of their website). All in all it makes it really easy to find super high quality food, including from local organic farms, for example. This has been super helpful for me.
Convenient, time-saving. I love this app! I'm new to the whole Nourishing Traditions community and this app will definitely help me get started better! I do wish it operated a bit smoother!
Can’t cancel my subscription. This app is run by a bunch of crooks! I’ve always rolled my eyes at people who say they’d leave zero stars if they could but this is just insane. I’d leave negative stars if I could. Customer service is nonexistent. No reply to my multiple emails and when you call it says EMAIL IS THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT US. What a joke. So anyway, I signed up through android. I forgot to cancel before switching to iPhone, so it kept charging me. It’s only $5 a month so I didn’t think much of it, but now I am on maternity leave and things are a bit tight financially, so I tried to cancel and guess what?? It doesn’t work! I did everything in the app I could think of to cancel. There’s not even a way to update or remove your card information!! Their website states “no refunds” but if you’re going to make it impossible for people to cancel and to contact you about it you’re a criminal and you need to give refunds. I am still going to get my money back at least for the last few months since I initially contacted customer service.
Expect to pay to use. Good app but they want you to pay to use them. Just another app that wants your money. Booo.
Found great brands that ship. Overall helpful app. But I don't like that there was only 3 stores showing up near me (I live far from major cities) and there were just a few approved things in each store. The deal is, you have to search for whatever type of food you want, the app shows you a list of what's approved, and you order it online instead of going to the store. I discovered a bunch of new foods I order all the time like the soaked granola we love, a farm that has grassfed meat and Jovial that has organic tomato sauce in glass jars.
Populates with Conventional Locations. I love WAPF so I bought this $20 app a year on principle. On the map feature they clearly just populated my local area with any grocery store their app development team could find on google (Safeway, Food for Less, Whole Foods). The logic is that each store carries a few healthy (or unhealthy) options. Real disappointment. Impossible to use the map to find anyone raising food the right way in my area. I feel ripped off by the organization I've been supporting for years. :(
NOT worth the $4.99. This app was referenced and advertised in the latest WAPF article. Came here to find it, and saw all of these 1-star reviews, but noticed that most were at least a year or more old. Decided to give it a try, in hopes that it had been updated since then—I mean, it’s WAPF, so I’m not against paying for helpful resources, knowing to whom the money is going, right? NOT even worth the $4.99. Seriously. A quick Google search will yield you way more than this hard-to-navigate app. Walgreens nearby is listed, but all the amazing local farms and dairies nearby? Not a single one. Everything on this app I could’ve found myself with a quick Google search—for free. Very disappointed.
Great resource!. I have been following the Weston A. Price Foundation diet for 10 years now, and they have changed my life! I was happy to hear they were putting out an app. At first I was a little frustrated that there weren't that many locations near me that carried WAPF approved products, but then again, the approval criteria and quality levels are quite high, so you can't find these great foods just anywhere. Then I figured out that most products shown in the app are also available for purchase online (it has links to the brand websites), so once I figured that out I just buy things online using the app the choose the approved foods and brands.
Not worth the money. This app only shows local grocery stores in your area. I bought the one year 19.99 plus tax app for 21.00 bucks and it shows me my local Walmart and Brookshires. I know these are there and I dont need an app to tell me so. RIP off. Skip this app and save yourself from the same mistake I made. Also the terms of agreement say, no refunds! So I’m sure I’m out of luck on getting my money back. I have contacted customer service and if they respond I will update this review in how this was handled. I asked for a full refund, due to being very unhappy with what was offered. I never have left such a harsh review or felt so ripped off! Hope this company responds and handles their customers service correctly.
I’m confused!!!. Saw the 1 star review still tried for myself! Beyond confused what this app is suppose to do!? It just shows me where all my local publix and grocery stores are located lol!? Very strange!
