A great concept. Rust Bucket to me was a very new concept. The game is part puzzle, part rogue like, and it seemed to me that the game reminded me an awful lot of playing chess. Now I got this game when it first started with only one level set and a pretty basic endless dungeon mode, and I'm very glad to see good work being done on the level sets, because I don't really like the endless dungeon. Just recently I completed the fourth level set. The set was very difficult especially the third from last level, but I was able to complete it eventually by looking up a small walk through at one point. The endless mode I feel doesn't reward the player very often for playing it. In a game like binding of Isaac there is usually some sort of payoff in every room, or some sort of encounter that you get locked into. In rust buckets current endless, we only ever find coins from smashing pots and the ones lying around, and that's really the only reward to playing. I'd like to see a reward for defeating all enemies in a room, more unique rooms even at lower levels, something interesting in my starting room occasionally, maybe some sort of boss rooms or challenge rooms that lock you in and you could get a special weapon for completing them? I really like this game and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice puzzle game.

progression loss. everytime i exit the app i lose all my progress pls fix

Really good puzzle game,. I just wish the level select WORKED. This game isn’t short enough, and definitely not easy enough to finish in one sitting. The farther you get, the more upsetting it is to see all your progress erased the second you so much as go back to the menu. This bug is a game ruiner and NEEDS fixing. Besides that, the game itself is great in both design and presentation. I’d love to give it a play if Nitrome ever gets around to fixing it.

level select bug. this game is awesome! the only real issue with it is that the recent update added a bug where if you go back to the level select screen after progressing in the "story mode" then you can't go back to the level you were on. All the levels get locked again and you have to start back at level 1. I hope this gets fixed quickly because I really enjoy this game it just needs that one bug fixed

Reset Bucket. While Rust Bucket is an amazing game, and is probably the best example of Nitrome’s mastery of the turn system, but like all the others, I too found myself stumped. Not by the difficulty, but by the reset bug that happens every time you enter the level select screen. It really takes out of the whole game’s experience. This has happened to me twice while I was near the end of the castle world, and it’s extremely frustrating. Frankly, I’m surprised they haven’t fixed it already by the number of people who have pointed this out. Please fix it soon, so I can live to see the ending.

Level progress bug. Love the game. Made it to level 15 then decided to try endless mode. All my progress was lost going back to the level select screen. Please fix.

Gamebreaking Bug. Game is pretty decent acually for the most part. 1 star might seem like a harsh rating because of that, but the level select bug literally ruins the entire game. If you just try to change the level you’re on, you’ll delete the entirety of your progress. That’s completely inexcusable and makes this a 1 star game.

rust bucket: AMAZING!. Nitrome is NOT kidding when they say, “super hard!”. Amazing head scratchers! One move can lead to disaster! I just CAN’T get enough! More levels! PLEEEEEZE! (Although they really need to fix that reset bug.) the only thing to make it better is to make it multiplayer somehow! This rating needs TEN stars!

It lost my progress!. I was on level 13 and it lost all my progress! Im very upset because I in joyed this game until it happened all of what i did was just gone!

One of the greatest puzzle Games I’ve played. I’m not usually fond of mobile games, but I seriously enjoy rust bucket in all its entity. It’s a shame they haven’t left room for game improvement or expansion. Still, I feel that if the developers keep updating the game and making more levels I wouldn’t mind paying extra. Love it! NOTE: Never force quit the game or open endless before finishing all levels. This will make the save game crash and lose all progress. This needs to be fixed...

RELEASE THE NEW LEVELS ALREADY. SO ADDICTING Anyway if you wanna know about the enemies: Blobs:Take 2 turns to move Pigs:If they want to change direction, it'll cost them a turn Skulls:Just like rust bucket, move any direction Helmet Pigs:Pigs that take 2 shots Stone Pigs:Statues of Pigs that can only be killed by explosives, they can only kill you if you are cornered Squids:Can only move diagonally Swoops: Alternate between flying and being on ground each turn Brain:Generates another enemy after every few turns Ghosts:Move like Skulls and can move through objects Stone Skulls: Move like Skulls, can only be killed by explosives and can only kill you by cornering you Centipedes: Snake like enemies that move like skulls, breaking the chain can make 2 of them Chest Monster: Monster disguised as a Chest to trick you, he will awake when you are two spots away, moves like skull, still will give you money once it's dead Now for buddie's Old Man and Old Lady: Distractions, can't move, saving them results in money Man: Distraction that moves, saving him gives you money Leprechaun: Distraction that'll try to avoid you, he'll still just give you one coin like the Man Bucket Buddies: Green Buckets that copy rust bucket's moves, careful! If a bucket buddy hits an explosive and rust bucket is in range it's game over!

Fix that bug!!!. LOVE the game! But seriously, it’s infuriating that the game isn’t saving what level I get to and I have to start over every time. I’ve noticed this problem in all the reviews. Please fix it!!!

A Fantastic Puzzle Rogue-Like!. I tend to be subconsciously picky about my mobile games. I'll download a game, play it for a day or 2 and delete it, or if I like it maybe play it up to 2 weeks. However, this game has earned a permanent spot on my hard drive! It's a fun rogue-like puzzle game that had me hooked from the first level. The levels are only the icing on the cake though. The cake is a finely baked endless dungeon that is randomly generated each time you enter. This dungeon provides little room for boredom to set in. Once boredom eventually catches up, I'll always be ready to play again the next day. Overall great game, I would recommend it to anyone.

Nostalgic as crud. Rust bucket is an AWSOME game. It teaches you mechanics purely through play in fact when I was going through the tutorial I didn't even realize it was the tutorial until I saw the achievement. The enemies all look unique and it's easy to remember how they move how they attack and how to how to best attack them while also not getting: crushed from above, crushed onto a wall, trapped between sentient statues, combust, slimed, teleported onto, bashed in the head with a living skull, getting killed by vengeful pigs, chomped by a murderous chest, chomped by slime gators, fungus slimed, and probably other ways of dying I haven't found yet. And of course the amazing pixel art which reminds me of the countless hours I spent playing nitromes flash games on the family computer a few years back. Basically what I'm saying is download this game now

Lost All of My Progress. I know this is an old game, but it’s completely broken. I lost all of my progress after beating level 19 and returning to the level select screen. Doubt it will ever be fixed but... c’mon. Just one guy from the dev team, that’s all this game needs.

Level Select. Lost all my progress after I left the story mode. Wouldn’t let me select any of the levels I had already completed. 😞

Bug. I can't go back to play already completed levels PLEASE FIX!!!

Impossible. So at first, the game is good. I like it. BUT THEN, once you get to Level 13, it is IMPOSSIBLE. You cannot beat it. I looked at a walkthrough, tried what he did, and got a different result. It is in the part where there are two slimes that make 3 slimes when killed, and the fire thingies have to break 3 pots to get to the school. Fix and this will actually be a pretty good game.

Progress Not Saved. This game was so much fun to play until the latest patch. Now all my progress in story mode is gone and will not save any new progress. It’s been almost a year since the last update. If this bug ever gets fixed I might consider actually paying to have no adds. Until then, 2 stars is the most I can give.

Great game with IAP stain. I do really like this game and play the heck out of endless mode. The new stuff they added is especially cool. I even paid to remove the ads. However, getting a high score in endless feels almost meaningless, because you can just buy your way to having a huge advantage. It's sad to see a game as good as this be tainted by in app purchases. I wanted to rate four stars but decided on three to make a point. There should be an "expert mode" that is at least available to ad-free purchasers; this mode would be purely free of IAPs and the coins would not persist between games (though store items would probably need to require less coins). If Nitrome added a mode like this, I'd give the game 5 stars.

Edit. Game doesn't save progress after last patch. All data lost. Great game. Needs more levels! Edit Data doesn't save. Also, still needs more levels. 3.99 to remove ads is a joke

Can't select levels. The overall game is good, but hobestly, you can't select levels. Once I got really far into a level, exited the level, and found myself have to do the tutorial again!

Level 23 is messed up. The part with the two pigs with helmets is impossible, the fire will kill me when I try to go through it cause it goes towards me not away from me. I’m giving such a low score so you will want to read it.

Level select bug. This game is super fun! But there is one major bug that ruins the entire game. Every time I press the level select button, all the levels I beat are locked and I have to start from the beginning. This makes the game almost pointless. Please fix this bug because I want to play this game to the fullest! Thanks!

Unplayable. Game didn't even open. Just shows an image for a couple of seconds, and back to the home screen.

Wish I could respawn with the weapons I las tho in infinite mode. Great game, I had lots of fun in all the challenges. I just wish you could respawn with the weapon you last had (purchased or found) in infinite mode. Although it does add to the challenge I think it’d be for the best if you could respawn with the weapon you last had.

Pretty boring. I'm giving it 3 stars because it's well made and some people might like this kind of game, but I found got no enjoyment out of it. There's nothing fun going on here.

Progress reset. Progress resets when exiting a level. So frustrating.

Okay why is my progress gone. so randomly I exited the game and reopened it and when I tried to go back to my level in story mode I find that all my progress is gone and I’m stuck at level 1. This already makes me very angry since I just lost all my progress in the story mode, but what makes it worse is that even when I try to complete levels, it still thinks that I’m at level 1 so when I go back to that level selection menu I’m stuck at level 1. Please fix this major bug before I smash my phone

Progress gets deleted.. There are two modes, the main level mode and infinity mode. Once you leave the level mode to play the infinity mode all progress will be deleted. Great game but this glitch makes the game a two star game.

Copies clipboard. When I launch Rust Bucket, iOS often tells me “Rust Bucket pasted from [last app I copied something in]” — super uncool. I only noticed it after an iOS update so maybe it’s a bug, but I hadn’t had the app long before the update so I don’t know for sure if that’s when it started. I emailed them about it a month ago and haven’t heard back. Too bad, because it’s a good game.

Totally hooked, but some odd design choices.. To start, this game is EXTREMELY fun and addictive, even in its current early state of development. The core gameplay, kind of a chess/roguelike, is practically flawless. Each enemy type provides unique puzzle situations to deal with, and because of the turn-based nature of this game, even pots and other inanimate objects become critically important to survival. I love the amount of thought that can go into every move, it rewards patience and carefulness which is extremely rare in a game that's also so easy to pick up and play. That all said, standard doors and gold are, as of right now, totally pointless. These issues stick out like sore thumbs, considering how polished the game feels otherwise. Even some kind of in-level shop with simple upgrades or making level progression doors more of a rarity would drastically improve this. It's a testament to the strength of the core gameplay that these issues don't bother me in the slightest! All in all, this is my favorite mobile game right now. The ads are non-intrusive, the gameplay's phenomenal, and with new content coming, I see no reason to not grab this game!!

A "Nitrome" type game (edited). Rust bucket is very similar to green ninja or silt sausage in that it has a great puzzle style: turn based. You have to think of you moves before you act and you can play the same level again and again, unlike other games *cough cough* go pogo *cough cough*. Also the ads aren't that bad, if you see one that takes 1 minute long to tap the X then just click on the ad, then go back to the game it saves much more time than waiting. Edit: My new title for this review since the update would probably be "Keeps getting better", because this game just doubled the amount of puzzle it has and made it much more challenging so there is a lot more play time. I had this game in my phone and used the storage in my 16 gb iPhone to have it and I always told myself to "wait for the update it says it will get and it will be worth it" and worth it it was. :)

Rust bucket. This is a very good, turn based puzzle/ strategy game. One big improvement though; they need to give the option to turn off the X, that shows where your character shouldn’t move. It takes away from the challenge.

One of the best apps I’ve ever played. I can’t stress enough of how much I want a Rust Bucket 2. This game is hard, but not stupid hard (except level 37, it can go straight to heck) and I like that. I wish this game got more updates, it is legendary already and they could expand greatly on that (take notes, Nitrome). If updates have to be put on a sequel, I wouldn’t even argue. There is so much to go for this game and so much that can be done. I actually have no complaints about this game, it’s a must play.

Progress isn’t Saved. Pretty cool game, I’d gladly pay for it, and I’ve enjoyed playing through the first 10 levels or so multiple times now. But the level select screen won’t let me resume the game on my most recent level. I’m getting pretty tired of starting at the beginning over and over.

Amazing game! Thanks for making it!. I loved it from start to finish (puzzle mode, that is). It had clever turn based puzzles, great mechanics, and an extremely easy to use control system. I encountered zero bugs and the ads weren’t intrusive at all. Probably the coolest thing to add to the game would be a level editor, but I understand if that’s a bit much to ask (I’ve done a bit of programming), so I’ll just say it’s a recommendation, not a must have. Personally I didn’t do much of the endless mode, but from what I saw it looks pretty cool. All around great game, thanks for the work put into it!

Listen up fellow awesome developers!!. I have a great idea for the endless update, you should give 10 coins every time when you level up for the next round. Once you earn the 10 coins, it doubles up every time when you level up, for example, you hit the door that says 1 and it grants you 10 coins and if you level up and hit 2 then it grants you 20 coins, if you hit 3 then 30 coins so on and so on, pls make this happen for the next update pls. That would be been better and awesome!! Keep up the good work you awesome developers and I hope this update idea happens. Bye and have a nice day!!

Great streamlined tactical Roguelike. Replaces the overcomplicated interface of most roguelike games with a very simple but effective swipe-based interface. Contains many neat handcrafted puzzle levels as well as a solid endless mode. Two gripes: 1) the shield and most weapons and aren’t worth picking up because they interfere with your movement in a game where every move is life or death. 2) In endless mood the difficulty starts getting ridiculous around level 10 with more and more “Skull Statue” enemies that are more frustrating than fun.

Major Bug. I really like this game, but when I exited out of a level to the main menu I had to restart from the very first level of the game.

Download it already. Rust bucket is a great puzzle game with super neat visuals. There are two modes, a campaign with levels that are intricate, elegant and make you think about your every move and an endless mode that can get really challenging. The campaign mode is a great puzzler, really making you scratch your head, with a generous checkpoint system in-level that makes this game perfect for going on the train or whatever. There are some issues with it though. One is that your progress (or at least mine) doesn’t save between levels after you complete them, making the game very difficult to play properly. Another issue is that it’s kinda short. It’s not really an issue (short and sweet isn’t a bad way to go), but I don’t think some of the ideas and concepts in the later levels have been used to their fullest extent. The endless mode is a neat little addition to the campaign, but it has very little staying power. The goal of the endless mode is to get the highest score, either in coins or in rooms progressed. I don’t believe that very many people will be that dedicated to beating their personal best or getting anywhere close to the top people on the leaderboard. This could be remedied by adding a better objective for it, like saving up coins to buy cosmetics. Speaking of coins, I also think that the amount of them you can find in a room could be increased so players can actually afford to buy new weapons and items to increase replayability by a lot. Also, it’d be cool if tiles changed themes every playthrough instead of after a certain number of rooms so we could see all of them. tl;dr It’s a good puzzler with great visuals. Campaign is fun, but could extend the ideas and concepts used. Endless mode could use a little tweaking to make it more appealing. What are you doing, download it already, it’s free.

Not awful. This game is more or less a clone of Crypt of the Necrodancer, however without the charm or fun and with an advertisement every two minutes. It's good enough to kill a few minutes if you're desperate, but there are probably better things to spend your time on.

It's good but not original.. It's a good game although it's literally Crypt of the Necrodancer if you were playing as the bard. The gameplay and enemies are pretty identical apart from the visuals. Although it's still fun to play but the ads ruin it a little. It should probably just be a dollar game.

Great BUT.... This game is super fun and addicting, I love it (I haven't played crypt or necrodancer but everyone says it's like them) But when I can't get past the first few levels because it keeps crashing and then I have to restart from the first level. Please try to fix that soon so I can get through it I'd really appreciate it:) Besides that it's a really great game, I'd recommend it and nitrome's other games too.

Amazing puzzle game. Very very addictive. Some real challengers thru the levels. Then the endless game is still fun. Best game for a while and it's completely free.

It's actually quite solid. It's so far only got ten levels and an endless, but the enemies all have really neat interlocking designs. It ain't terribly original, but it's damned fun.

Wow. I haven't played crypt of the necrodancer but this was so fun, I think I'll buy it right after I beat this super hard level

Brilliant. An excellent little bite of fun. I've not usually enjoyed turn-based games, however the system here makes for incredible variety of methods. Either slow and calculated, playing like chess, or a fast paced and hectic style. The randomly generated endless levels make for new experiences every time. I would like to see some customization options for the character, perhaps unlocked with the coins from endless mode. I've been playing their games since 2008, and Nitrome continues to amaze me.

Awesome. Few games I would rate or even review but this one is what I might possibly describe as perfect for a simple game of its kind. And it's not even that simple ;) also chess op

Artificial difficulty. What it first looked like a smart puzzle/strategy game with charming graphics, 8bit music, and very well craft mechanics soon became not that smart. At a certain point, the levels start requiring the player to perform a set of very specific moves in order to beat them. There is no room for variation, or experimentation at later levels, since one wrong square can mess up the entire section and FORCING the player to reset - which hurts the gameplay so much. Forcing the player to reset, when it could actually offer a new strategy to be traced and followed makes it evident how flawy is the design and how the game leaves no room for the player to improvise, therefore, showing it doesn't really care for the player skills. Soon, a cycle is formed. You perform certain actions until you reach a dead-end because of ONE SINGLE MOVE you did wrong. You die, or reset - and watch an ad before respawning - and repeat some moves that looked correct, changing some, but then again, you reach another dead end. It's pretty evident that making the player die is only for the sake of it watching at a lot, really, a lot of ads. I'm not complaining about them, but the way they were introduced. Creating a game that gives the player more options to fail than to succeed just spoiled a game with a great potential to be actually fun , intelligent - and flexible.

BEST OF NITROME. my all time favourite Nitrome game. They nailed it with this rogue like puzzle game that i find myself playing whenever theres an update. PLEASE DONT STOP MAKING LEVELS ITS SUCH A GOOD GAME!!

Unbeatable. Sometimes when you enter a door a brain monster spawns near the door and spawns a hard enemy such as skulls or armoured boars. And makes the section unbeatable because by the time you kill the first one there is another monster in the doorway. You could go thru another door that usually helps but sometimes it happens again. This also can happen in narrow sections of the map. Please fix this. Other than that the game is great.

Love this game. I have always loved Nitrome games. They are so freaking fun to play and this one is amazing. I play it even now years later. However, there’s an issue. I’m trying to buy the ad free version but each time I click on it in the game it says no app purchases available. So I don’t know what to do. I want to play without any ads, but it’s not letting me buy and the ad free button doesn’t respond. I have an iPhone by the way, it’s an iPhone 8.

Awesome... but flawed. This game is amazing and fun, but every time you close the app it resets your progress. It also resets your progress if you press the button to go back to the main menu when you are in a level.

Isssss ok. You know me and my mom love nitrome but this game didn't give me that feel. I have tried a couple games in my futile years and this isn't the best. If you are looking for a real gaming exp get a PC. My fav games are league over watch and tf2 that's a real game. But this one is okkkkkkkkk👌🏿

Great game if it wasn't for the adds. Every time you die (which will be often) you get an add the game also freezes on the add screen sometimes. I'd have paid 3-5$ for this game without the adds but it's free so instead of a 5 star 3$ game they have a 3 star free game.

Great game. The instant I started playing I was sucked in and before I knew it I had passed the tutorial. My only complain is that the remove ads price is to high I would get it if it was 2 dollars max.

Excellent. The artwork, animation, weapons, enemies, content, all of it is awesome. One thing I request is for you to make more rust bucket skins! But overall, it's epic, and it deserves 5 freaking stars!

Pleasantly surprised!. Love the graphics, and the simplicity of it, it does have ads but they're non intrusive. The game is charming and allot of fun, great game guys! Glad to see developers not jumping to boring pay to play money grabs and actually making something worthwhile.

Mobile Necrodancer. It's like crypt of the necrodancer without the whole rythm thing, it's real fun. -1 star for the ads

nice one. The game is fun, it's easy to learn how everything works just by moving and watching what happens. I like how the pacing changes from player to player. This isn't a game about reflexes, it goes as fast as you want it to be.

Fun Game👍. Level Selection👎.. It's an awesome game to play if you like puzzles, dungeons, and a kill-em-all red knight. The only problem with the game is the level selection screen, as it resets you to level one each time you exit the game.

Very good. I liked the game quite a bit, it was fun, imaginative, very creative and I liked the style of it, the music was well done as well, I would recommend this game to anyone who likes strategy games or puzzles.

Awesome game, but resets levels ALL THE TIME. I only just got past the tutorial, and I beat that damn snake level. However, when I returned to the menu to check my progress, I’m back at square one. Please fix this, for my sanity’s sake.

Great, But Ads. This game is good fun. Download it, its free and you'll love it. The art style, music, and gameplay are cool and creative. The ads are pretty annoying, but if you turn on airplane mode you can play uninterrupted.

Great minimalist roguelike puzzler. Super simplified roguelike game that knows exactly what it's trying to be. Super simple and yet good at making me feel stupid for quick moves I make just when i start feeling like the game is too slow

Loved it!. Rust Bucket is an awesome puzzler. My favorite part was the challenge levels where you had to solve specifically designed puzzles. I hope that in future updates they add more puzzles! The dungeon mode is cool, but It needs more direction then just randomly spawned enemies and obstacles. However, even if they were to improve on it in that way. I can not see myself playing it much without some sort of system in which I can spend the coins I collect In the dungeon.

Great game. I never write reviews but I truly believe this game is very refreshing and fun. It sets a great median pace between turn based and real time which makes it easy to pick up and play yet give a challenge just deliciously enough. The main reason I wrote a review is to suggest an update some time to add skins or maybe even different classic weapons found in RPGs. (e.g. Different heads and weapons like magic staff, long sword, bow etc. It would be fun to use with this turn based dungeon crawl system). It would also really boost replay-ability to keep you hooked on the game for the long term on endless mode instead of the incentive being to beat your own score.

Good, But Not Addictive. Rust Bucket is an adorable game with a great concept. Once the tutorial is finished, however, it suffers from a lack of goals--goals which would keep you trying for more. Since the rooms are endless rather than puzzles, one would think score/coin collection/monster kills with some sort of eventual reward would come into play, but there is none of that present...and it kills the game. What could be an addictive grind game becomes just a grind, and is honestly not much fun. It's a shame because the tutorial was a blast, and I hope they update to keep the feel of accomplishment going. For now, it's uninstalled.

Rust Bucket. Amazing game! Really gives a fun and tough challenge. Every level allows for new strategy and opportunity to prove just how well you think and plan out attacks. Defiantly worth a try if it appeals to you.

Great but now broken. I love this game quite a bit but now it crashes when ever I try to load it, which makes it unplayable, if this is fixed I'll give it the 5 stars it deserves.

I love this game. I think this game is awesome cause it makes you think about what move your gonna take next so it really challenges your brain. On another note the reason I'm writing this review is actually because I just updated the app and saw that there had been weapons added that you can buy with the coins you collect in endless mode. I'm having a hard figuring out how or even where to buy the weapons and I've checked everywhere. Please help by writing a review with the answer to my dilemma, thanks!

Not a Roguelike.. Liars, This game is a suicide run, fourth screen of the game and I'm supposed to destroy pots to find a switch, cool. Until the real concept shows up. This is not a roguelike. In a roguelike you are able to maneuver and defeat enemies, the purpose of a Roguelike is to show skill and give an adventure, not repeatedly kill the player to make them find a switch, and god forbid they get lucky... Change the title of this game. for all of us out there who actually play REAL roguelike games, this is a slap in the face.

Top of the line. I never thought I'd come across an ios game that was anything more than a time waster. This game is nonstop joy & difficult as hell! The main character and even the enemies are likable.

NITROME!!!. I love everything you make. I remember getting platform panic and quickly becoming addicted, getting a score of 32, and putting myself at 4th on the leaderboards. (32 is nothing now, but 'back in my day...'" Anyways, since that game no mobile games have felt quite as fun for me. Yours are always good, but I felt they never reached the same greatness as PFP. But then this new game comes along, and blows me away. Something called "Rust Bucket". I love it. Thank you.

This game is amazing. I love this game and almost everything about it, the endless mode is a little annoying trying to collect coins but the campaign is my favorite part and I wait for each new add-on to play it

Glitch?. I can't get past the first armored pig. It kills the civilian before I can attack it. I've bumped along the wall and against both available sides of each of the 4 shrubs. Where do I get the key.

Fantastic game, poorly designed controls. I am absolutely hooked on Rust Bucket! It's everything that I've been looking for in a strategy/puzzle game. With that said, the controls are sub par, at best. This is coming from someone who used to play modern combat for hours a day without a complaint. The swipe controls make for an incredibly clunky control experience and forces you to move at a frustratingly slow pace (at least for me). Yes, I understand if you swipe and hold that it'll stick and keep you moving in that direction, but that does very little for quick, precise maneuvers. I hope to see some new control options implemented, as I feel the current controls hinder the experience with this particular game. All in all, this is a phenomenal concept and I am very excited for the new levels!

Another disappointment.. Sigh. The block by block movement makes the gameplay slow, there are no real directions and the ads are, once again, way too frequent. To boot they're video ads that override my music I have playing so I have to close the app, go back to music, hit play and open the app again. Another miss, Nitrome. Only slightly better than that disaster, GoPoGo. Slightly...

Great puzzle game. I haven't found a puzzle game this good since Pixel Defenders. It's turn based so you have plenty of time to think, and it's not difficult to learn quickly either. Great pixel graphics. Five stars from me.

Great Game! Needs Some Tweaks To Keep Me Interested Long-Term. Really clever enemy designs and attack patterns. Pre-built levels introduce game mechanics nicely but also provide some challenge. Procedural mode is also fun, although once you get that magic run and high personal score, you lose a bit of motivation. Coins are not tedious to grind, so you can usually get enough to get some good weapons. Personally, I would prefer to see enemy density brought down just a touch. And a statue cap per room or guaranteeing number of bomb vases = number of statues would be nice.

Surprisingly fun and challenging (addicting also). The amount of effort these guys must have put into the level designs is unbelievable. Fantastic job on every level and it really makes you calculate each move you make! Very good game and addicting in all the good ways! :)

Giving 5 stars for potential. The 'tutorial' of this game is amazing, but once you get into the endless dungeon I found it a bit lacking. Would be extremely interested in more content. Very fun gameplay, and beautiful art style. I want the tutorial to b fleshed out into a full game!

Suggested Change. I love this game and I loved it even on the browser but on this app I hate how dying takes a while animation. I preferred it on the browser when you would just die and see how the mob would take your spot as you blew up. Or saw them swing as your blew up. This animation just gets annoying so maybe a setting to turn it off would be nice.

Great Game!. It's a great game, but there isn't very many levels. Wish for more to come in the near future. Great job though! Also, the ads can be a bit annoying. You can close then though after a few seconds which is a plus.

Challenging. This game was really challenging which made it so fun. A real sense of accomplishment when I finally beat it. Also, very well made and ads don't come that often which is really cool.

Great puzzler!. Awesome little game! Get ready to be challenged to think ahead! Lots of ads after you die a few times, but nothing to quit over! I highly recommend it!

Fun/Challenging. It's a wonderful turned based dungeon crawler each level slowly starts to get harder (at least for me anyways) then endless mode takes everything you learned and mushed it all together. With that being said since the update yesterday I've been personally stuck on level 13 can figure out how to open the door, some times it opens with no enemies and some times it does after all the buttons are pressed (at the same time) by the enemies. It's actually bothering me. But don't let that steer you away it's seriously a great game.

Great game. This game is great, battle mechanics are a delight. You can can kill some enemies with a key and feign an attack by smashing a pot. The "campaign" is a little short but I've been playing the randomly generated levels and i find them infinitely fun. TL;DR great game download it now

Retro, Addicting, Original.. This game has such a style of its own that it makes you wish it would have came out years before on one of your favorite handhelds. It plays like q modern game but at the same time it doesn't feel like it. Nitrome really out did themselves with this one. Whoever designed the concept behind this deserves a promotion.

Rust Bucket. I REALLY wanted to give this game 5 stars, but I couldn't quite do it. Why? Only 10 levels. Yes, there is an endless dungeon mode, but compared to the 10 levels -- boring. If this game had 100 levels, and no endless dungeon it would have been 10 stars. Good graphics and good gameplay (on the 10 levels). Hopefully Nitrome will add more levels.

Add arrow controls. This game is really fun. I'm really loving it but please add arrow controls. Having to slide my thumb like 100 times across my screen just to move is very annoying. I'm more fond of arrow controls personally. Having arrow controls would make sense since it's a retro game. Other than the controls this game is great.

Good game. I like it but the constant swiping is going to give me arthritis in my thumb. Also there's only 10 puzzle levels which is unfortunate but the endless mode is good. What's the point of the non golden doors in endless if they don't give you points and what's the purpose of the coins?

Just right for commercials. This is a game of short term planning and visualization. Players can take their eyes off of things for a few minutes, then jump right back into the game in no time, since it is turn based, so it is exactly as hectic or as time consuming as needed. The atmosphere is excellent, and I hope that the composer posts these soundtracks online. An end of campaign boss was a great surprise. This will be my go-to game for a long while, because there is no time where I am excluded from a little dungeoneering on the side.

Greatest Nitrome game ever. I like the game very much because it has a retro feel to it which is really good the ad don't bother me because while you could skip it and I hope that you add more level to the puzzle mode please and some suggestions how about like you put some skill to the mix while like a rpg feel I know it an improved version of turnmanet but how about jazz it up but in the end your choice. Over all great game keep it up.

Wonderful puzzler. This is the most fun and unique puzzler I have played in a very long time...maybe ever. Don't get discouraged early. Give the levels mode a fair shot and you'll be hooked. This game is outstanding.

Excellent, minor bug. Excellent game but there is a minor bug in the new version. If you have the tutorial quests completed and upgrade the game to the new version which introduces quests 11-20, then those will not unlock unless you replay tutorial level 10. No big deal because the main game is the roguelike dungeon crawl and that works fine. I wish there was more music variety but I know how the realities of indie development go. I love the art, gameplay mechanics and the Sfx are good too.

Awesome game, and the only glitch is lack of skill. This game is really amazing, all the levels are designed well to test the skill and knowledge of the player. Not to mention that level five is not glitched, I beat it a few weeks ago, and just went back and beat it again before writing this review. Don't get discouraged, you can do it if you keep trying!

Great game with a great potential. This game is all around enjoyable and I can't wait to see what comes next as far as levels, bosses and coin values. The level design is phenomenal and the turn based, rogue-like nature of it makes combat interesting and exciting. Good going Nitrome.

Wow. Easily the best app I've ever put my time into. It's a awesome time killer and just fun whenever. It almost always gets a few plays outta me each day. Sometimes I'll just even sit around playing it just for the fun of it. Please keep this app the way it is or just add more levels! Never ruin this absolute perfection.

Add stages to complete the game. Please do add new stages. The game itself is addicting and fun, but please finish your game before putting it on app store. I know you want to make some money with the app asap and you can do so by adding skins or Ads or whatever, but first you need to make this game feel complete. Or else the game will die before it reach its potential.

My Favorite Game. I've never played a game like it, and one of the things I love most about this game are the graphics. When it started off, I was very pleased with the difficulty and how it lead you through the first level. By the last level, you were learning new tricks by yourself and getting used to the harder gameplay. At level 10, you have to think about every move you make so you don't die and respawn. I was slightly disappointed that there are only 10, but I'm very much looking forwards for the future of this game.

Level 25. On my iPad, level 25 is very easy to beat but on my iPhone I'm completely stumped. There doesn't seem to be a solution and if there is, I can't find it. Wonderful game otherwise.

Repetitive. Very much so.. The tutorial part of the game is the most variety you're going to get. Sadly it's short lived before its on to the "how far can you get" aspect of the game. Like others have reviewed, it's quite repetitive. Yes, more and more difficult baddies show up to give you a tough time. Other than this though there is nothing to break up the monotony. Seriously what are we collecting coins for? It might be nice to find some power ups in here somewhere. Kill a certain baddy to get a shield. Kill another to move 2 spaces for every 1. Kill another to move diagonal etc. etc. A great start to a game with lots of potential. Excited to see how things progress.

Fantastic beta game, suggestions below. Awesome game. Obviously you guys are probably working on campaign missions so i won't spend to long on that. Another thing that would be cool is a level creator were you could play other peoples levels. The game has pretty basic concepts that could easily be made into a creator. Thx for your time. 😄😄😄

Just completely in love. There is nothing bad I can say about this game. By far the best app I have. Amazing game. The only downside I can see is that you kinda have to be a gamer to get far, there are a lot of tricky levels. Endless mode is just such a fun time waster.

An Addicting, Fun, Puzzle Game. I really like this game. It's an excellent puzzle game. It's very challenging and fun to play. The turn based strategy makes it even more fun. I would definitely recommend this game.

Ads have ruined this game. I loved this game. Unfortunately, recent updates have added incessant advertisements that overwhelm an otherwise excellent game. Every three deaths or so, a blaring ad offers me the same obnoxious app over and over. When stuck on a tricky puzzle, this came mean an ad every minute or so. This jarring interruption makes carefully planning a strategy very difficult. Typically, Nitrome games have higher standards in filling their games with advertisements. I'm disappointed that this is the path they've taken.

I love the game but...... I love how this game makes you think ahead and plan for success. Unfortunently ever since the new update i can no longer open up the game while all the other games i have open perfectly and play seamlessly i have a iphone 4 and i would love if you fix this new and upsetting glitch thank you

Fun & challenging. This turn-based chess-like looks great, sounds great, and most importantly plays great. There are 20 brilliant handcrafted levels that require thought and patience. I'm currently trying to pass the last level. There's also a pretty fun endless mode, but the levels are the meat of the game for me. So much fun. Thanks for the rad game, devs!

Absolutely Brilliant. This game is simple yet clever. The levels make you use everything available including enemy movement patterns to reach the end. The characteristic Nitrome 8-bit style is beautiful and classic. Truly the best experience I have had with an Apple application. I hope for more levels soon!!!
