I Like It. I really like the app. It has a lot of useful info, and one of the best voice recognitions I've used. I just wish I didn't have to keep waking my phone to activate "OK Hound" to use the handsfree search, but it's the only way that I know of. I keep the app open and my phone set to never auto lock. To keep your phone unlocked really drains the battery. Other than that, I really like the app.

Many limitations. I thought this app may overcome the fact that Siri starts up when you pick up the phone and unless you said it otherwise which essentially disables it Hound is activated by using the mic icon and stopped by releasing the mike icon. Siri is difficult to shut off and Hound seemed to overcome this. But Hound doesn't read contacts which doesn't make it very useful. It also starts up on the welcome page. So I went back to using Siri and found out all I had to say is shut off Siri and it turned off. Hound is now gone.

please have a way to use outside the app. i love using the app, but with an apple phone siri is easier to use because you can use it outside of the app, and i would love for it to be compatible outside the app on ios

Hound Is a Great Assistant. I like Hound because it is very responsive and intelligent. I love the "Ok Hound" feature, but unfortunately you have to be on the app to be able to use it. I like the answers but I wish this assistant had more of a personality like Cortana or even Siri. I wish it was able to know your name and knew that (example): Holly is your Aunt. Overall I like this app and it has so much to offer

Only assistant that works properly and fast. Sir and Google Assistant on iPhone is pretty bad. Hound works perfectly. Just wish they had reminders

Very intelligent assistant, just one request. I love how intelligent and easy to use Hound is. By far the most useful voice assistant available today. My only request is that the voice be updated to sound more normal and natural. With that, this would be the perfect voice assistant.

Stopped working. It stopped working even if I pushed the button.

Better. Than Suri in a lot of ways and you do not get the "is unavailable" that you get so often with Suri. This app just gets better and better with frequent updates containing not only the usual bug fixes and changes, but also additions of features.

Surprisingly Good!. A lot of apps (cough Siri cough) claim to do this it most understand like 2 out of 10 queries and even then those have to be said in a specific way... Like when your talking to a non English speaker and you just yell keywords in the hope they get it Hound understands everything I ask and has no problem with my accent! I like how you can talk naturally to it! Also the uber thing looks really useful.

Best digital assistant; but needs 2 things. I would have rated this 4 or even 5 stars but it lacks 2 most important things. First, it lacks optimization for iPad. Secondly, it lacks either either Siri integration or some other way to have the user be able to access this great app without having to open the app with their hands and then say "Okay Hound...". In essence, my feedback is saying it's great but difficult to access. The app is wonderful at doing what it advertises. It is a really fast and smart digital assistant. The fact that you can ask it questions about the questions you've asked it make it such a delight and a real gem to use!

Wow. Wow is probably all that needs to be said about this app. They have really taken the digital personal assistant to the next level. Now if we could just get Apple to allow us to use it by default we would be living the life. Great app, great execution of an amazing idea, and great way to push the envelope of what's possible. Good job guys!

Truly impressive. The intelligence built into this app is vastly superior to anything I've ever seen. Siri, Cortana and Google Now don't even come close. While it has a few hiccups -- what new software doesn't? -- it's amazing tech. Whoever buys Hound (Google, Microsoft and Apple will all try) will have a big competitive advantage over everyone else.

Not Free Anymore. What happens to the free version 🤦🏻‍♂️

Seems like grift. Can't do anything other than give system permissions without paying. No predetermined number of free queries. No free trial. Just pay up front and hope it works as expected. Also the price in app is nearly 100% more than what they list in the App Store prices.

Good speech recognition but. The speech recognition was almost as good as google's in "now" but this isn't an assistant in any stretch of the word. At best it's google search query dictation app. Nearly everything I asked for was responded to with search results. Unless you want simple facts that make for good demos but completely useless in real life. It's just easier to type the search query most of the time.

Not interested in leftist propaganda. Their “”news”” comes from only one source and you can’t change it. NPR. Oh puhleese. 🙄 Deleted.

SUPER FAST DICTATION. WAAAAYYYY FASTER THAN SIRI

This app is good but it has a bug. When I want to get a song name it closes can you fix it

Epic! Needs some tweaks. The app is awesome it does need help with differentiating similar sounding words. For example is you was the number sequence for Pi it will search for nutritional facts on pie. And it needs help in fractions for math. As well as adding video games and other search results. It will search video games as movies. And if I ask it to search the release date for Xbox 360 it will search "release date for Xbox three sixty" then come up with song search results. I would give it 5 stars for that. But it deserves a solid 4 as its perfect in every other aspect.👍👍👍

Nice, wish it always listened. The biggest let down is that you have to open the app to use it. Not sure the developers can change that though.

Almost works as advertised. It works better than Siri except for when the phone is locked. Also have fun deleting the app! I figured out how but you might not! Notifications to home screen is why I removed it.

Best one out there. Just a few issues.. I have an iPhone, but Hound is by far the best one I've used followed by, (with some distance,) Google now and cortana. And sadly last, Siri. Hound was released a little over a month ago, and at the VERY least Is equal to the others. Beyond that, it's not even a competition. It's able to handle more complicated questions and requests and a it's able to process your requests much faster, as well as understand what your saying. Problems? The few it has for myself the others have as well. Background noise cutting you off in the middle of a request. Sorry all, I didn't intend for this to be so long. =)

Hound not outbound. When I use the share arrow to tweet it doesn't load the article! That makes it useless to me! In other words it gives me an empty tweet box!

Stay Away. Any app that asks you to agree to a massive “privacy” policy before moving forward is up to no good. Read the policy. My bet is that you will not sign up. A good rule in these matters is this: If you need a lawyer before you use the app, and stay away from the app.

Has Potential. This is promising, the potential to be a great app is there, just needs more work. What good does it do me to have to launch the app to use it? I can do the same with Siri, Google. It would better if it could be launched from the locked screen, with voice recognition. There is a lot of improvement that need to be made, it can be the best assistance, for now I'll stick with Google Now.

Look out Siri. Blows Siri away with the ability to understand certain queries and specific follow-up questions with proper context.

A few more options than Siri but.... Ok, so I was pump to get this new app. Yahoo article made it sound awesome. It is very fast I'll give you that, but it doesn't understand what I say very often like Siri does. Siri very seldom gets my words wrong. I asked it to translate where is my ladder into Spanish and it translated where is my latter. I'm using Siri to write this. And Siri even got ladder correct. I ask it to read full wiki articles and it refused to. I asked it to read my last text and it would not. I'm just gonna stick with Siri.

Why. when this app was called HOUND it was so much better no fees no long winded responses it was just better. It was sad that it changed I used to use it day to day until it updated. I cannot use it now. 😢

It’s very fast. It works really well and easy to use.

Combining Siri and Google, and surpassing them both.. Wow! Speaking with Hound is much more natural than Siri or Google. In fact, I've just replaced the Google app on my iPhone screen's bottom menu with Hound as my primary search app! The power to ask follow up questions is huge, and it's ability to understand naturally-spoken sentences is a game changer. Version 1 has already impressed me, so I'm excited to see where future versions go from here!

Lightning. This personal assistant is terrifyingly quick. You can just spit out a series of questions and it has no problem keeping up with them and answering all of them. Truly incredible that a small company like this can make a digital assistant quicker and smarter that Google and Apple can.

Hoping for a Siri replacement? This IS NOT it!. I was hoping for a smarter, more interactive version of Siri or Ok Google. But this app fails on so many levels. Siri and Google give me a +90% accuracy rate on dictation. Hound is lucky to understand ~10% of what I say (that is if you ask questions that aren't "recommended" by the Hound developers - seems fishy, right?). Hound is 100% accurate when you ask the questions the app programmers recommend. Go off script and Hound fails miserably! Wonder why that is? Hmmm. I was really hoping for the be all, end all virtual personal assistant. Hound is not that app!

Best in category voice recognition; average semantic (meaning) analysis. Hound has easily the best voice recognition and that's very impressing. The ability to 'stack' questions is a natural progression from what Siri does. Other than that though, semantic analysis doesn't seem to be objectively better than competitors, with search being frequently triggered by free form queries (try saying 'hotels which allow pets' rather than 'pet friendly hotels').

Nice…except for this one thing….. My main use of Siri is in my car where she can be invoked from my steering wheel. I do not have CarPlay…but wish I did…or rather that my BMW i3 did. But with Siri I can call a number, send a text or email, listen to a text or email, and get directions to wherever. I can open an app, but what do I do with it after it’s open (while driving). I can open iTunes but I don’t listen to “songs”, I listen to symphonies — which no AI-based app can figure out. OK, Hound can do this stuff and other stuff Siri cannot do…but I can’t invoke Hound with my hands on the wheel nor can she listen through my car mike system nor can she speak through my entertainment system. An app could be “Ex Machina” but if I can’t talk to it hands-free…in my car…it’s only a novelty.

Great start for this app. A great start for this app. Like the capabilities of this app to understand complex queries (compared to Siri or google now). One drawback is that it shows web results for many questions instead of just showing the answer. I hope this will be rectified in future versions.

Great technology preview but.... Because every phone OS has integrated voice command technology, better tech like Hound is locked out. For instance, you can launch Hound but the only way to use ‘OK HOUND’ is to have the app running in the foreground. Whereas SIRI will work even when the phone is locked. Apple needs to open this technology up to third party apps so that apps like Hound can ‘take over’ the SIRI interface and listen for audible wake-up commands even when the phone is locked. Until this, this is just a technology showcase, nothing more.

Very informative and helpful. This AI is actually covering the other things siri just cannot do. When I surf the web anymore I use hound.

As bad as siri. Terrible understanding of any spoken word

WOW. If this company made a smart phone with an OS like iPhone OS with hound as its core, to have integration by being the main OS itself I would ditch apple and buy that phone. Those are big words since I'm an iPhone fan. I've turned Siri off for the last last few years except to test her out every time I get a new iPhone then turn her off again since she can't even make simple phone calls from the contacts list without constantly making mistakes.

It's a lot more responsive. When I first started using the app, it didn't seem to be much different than the google feature but now it works really smoothly.

Ok. App is great but the voice sounds annoying

Better than Cortana. I must say this is a pleasantly surprising app. While Google & Cortana give you feeds of your day and current news, Houndify chooses to focus on what matters most in an assistant: Voice. Compared to Cortana for iOS & Windows 10, Houndify is quick to respond, always works, and looks to be extremely helpful. Even better, it can take further direction on a previous command, further narrowing your results. For instance, after asking for the weather you can ask "What about 3 months from now?" or "How about in Austin Texas?" to alter your request for weather to match those criteria. This seems unique to Hound, as the likes of Google & Cortana work only a command at a time, taking the next question as a new request. You can also set it to launch a voice request on open, which is useful in combination with "Hey Siri" for handsfree use, and there is a keyboard input function for when you're not in the position to talk. Overall it's a pretty good voice assistant, which is where it counts.

Outstanding. It costs but was worth it because I use it all the time. Local search, weather + great ai searches

Pretty Amazing.. While its data set is somewhat limited in that it can’t interact with your calendar and email yet, its a pretty impressive application and fast to boot. Makes Siri and Google Now like like freshmen efforts. Its only been out a day so there is so much int store for this wonderful app. Cant wait to see where it goes from here.

Excellent recognition and feedback. With all the money and talented developers Apple has... Siri should be well ahead of all of these virtual assistants. Hound is significantly better in pretty much every area. Needs to be able set reminders in the reminders app and I will be able to use it all the time. Also I don't use the American accent for Siri and would like the option to use a different accent as well. Shouldn't be that difficult. Had multiple issues with it recognizing the word "later" for some reason. Kept saying slater or meter. Other than that the recognition is the best available.

It's sorta Ok. Google app and Siri still out perform. When I first saw the video about this app I will say I was blown away and impressed on how it processed information and was able to multi task. Signed up for the beta and all. When I downloaded it and started to use he app, I was disappointed that it was not as advertised. Still somewhat useful, it still has an issue picking up certain words and modifies it to what it thinks you said, changes it, then gives you a different search. Thought it'd be a replacement for Siri but it isn't. The voice is too monotone like Siri. Other phones nowadays are using a more realistic voice which is more pleasing to the ear. In order to use "ok hound" you have to manually open the app and maintain it open unlike "hey Siri". Such an inconvenience when hands free. Step your game up gents. I'm we were hoping for a lot more with this app.

Wow very impressive!. This AI technology is way better than any other one. Usualy I got a hard time with my Google assistant or Alexa, but with this App they always recognize my voice and always have the right recommendation! :) Thank you SoundHound!

I love using this app. only wish that I could make it the default on my iPhone when I push the home button (instead of Siri). Also I'm not sure if hound integrates with my calendars so that I am able to schedule an event using the voice controls.

Definitely Impressed. I'm definitely impressed on the accuracy and speed. The biggest feature is the follow up to keep getting additional results. One issue is the voice. It sounds way to robotic. And the speed needs to be fine tuned.

Almost.... Hound is very fast and, for the most part, accurate. The big stumbling block I've run into is simply that I can't get results on quite a few queries I attempt. What's more, I can try the same query from the Google app via voice and get the result I had been looking for but couldn't get with Hound.

Amazing app. I'm using Hound on a daily basis. The precision of the speech recognition is simply amazing - far better than Siri or Cortana. Searching for restaurants in particular is outstanding. I highly recommend this app. Try it and you will become a believer.

Way better than Siri Cortana and Google. Hound is so better it's way better at understanding me but the one thing that I want is if the voice sounded realistic.

Very impressed!. Quality of understanding what I say is excellent. I am very impressed their technology of speech recognition. This is actually very handy app when I want to know various things like weather or navigation.

Understands me!. I have a unique accent and have always had a tough time using other voice products like Siri but finally someone understands me! Excited to learn more about all the app can offer.

A top contender. This is a great app that keeps getting better with each release. Search results show up with pictures next to articles which is much nicer looking than Siri and Google search results. Beautiful user interface.

Amazing. This thing destroys Siri and Google Now, even Cortana. I would use it 24/7 but having Siri on my lock screen is a major plus. Everything about Hound is perfect so far. Only thing they can improve is small city recognition of buildings and landmarks.

This is awesome. I heard about sound hound a few months ago and was very excited today when they released hound! It is lightning fast, able to process complex questions, and it can process follow up questions. Brilliant work, super cool program. Far better than Siri.

So fast!. I like how the responses are so fast. And so much easier than typing especially when looking for a restaurant. I also use the weather in the future a lot.

Great except.... This is a great assistant, better than Siri in many ways. The deal killer for me is that there is no option to have location services on "only while I'm using the app". The only options are always or never.

Best out there !. Being a non native English speaker I always had issues with Siri and other voice assistants understanding my accent. But hound is as close to perfect as you can get. Only if I have an option to replace Siri with this for everything.

Very fast & Accurate! + Suggestion. As my title says, I am impressed. However if there was one thing I don't like about Hound, it's the voice. It sounds like old Siri on steroids (I know, crazy choice of words). I would like it much more if it had more of a human-like voice such as Cortana (aka, my favorite voice).

Finally an assistant that remembers what you just said. Unlike Siri, Alexa, Cortana (@Feb2017), you can actually have a conversation with hound spanning multiple interactions - it doesn't immediately forget what you just said like the others! Fantastic.

BFD - Siri is vastly superior. Yes, it's fast, but it is unable to accomplish some basic, key tasks. It does not play music from the music library, only from iTunes. It doesn't recognize my playlists. It does not actually send text messages, it prepares them and leaves them sitting there for me to press send, and it does not read incoming text messages to me. Since I primarily use Siri in the car, this app proves fairly useless to me. Siri is vastly superior.

Awesomeness!. Surely it will give Siri and Google Now some competition. I would say Cortana as well but no one uses her. Plus, Hound can dial and message your contacts from the app. Google Now can't do that

Trouble keeping the conversation going. I like that it can keep the thread of a conversation going, but very often that gets ruined when it misunderstands one query, and loses the whole thread. It would be great if you could tell it that it didn't hear your last query correctly, and allow you to try again.

Love it, but weather is broken for Minnesota. Weather is broken for Minnesota. Love all the features, especially the follow-up questions and the ability to get results for "where can I hide a dead body", put any queries about weather for Minnesota returns a "weather results are unavailable" message. Plz fix!

Does what says, says what it does. In a class all by itself, Siri I wish you could answer answer the same questions as well or as fast.

Beats them all. Too bad it couldn't be launched by holding down the home button! Apple has had Siri over 4 years to improve it and this makes it look pretty novice.

Very promising. When it understands me, it is a very good tool. The problem is that background noise can confuse it. Siri is better in this regard. Other than that, I will probably use it for many voice searches.

Integrate SoundHound. Hound is great, and can be made better by fully integrating SoundHound's one-tap to listen for music function. This way, you can replace your SoundHound app with just the Hound app. As it stands, you need to ask Hound what song is playing rather than just rapping a button on SoundHound.

Blows Siri out of the water. I have been frustrated with Siri for the longest time now. It either does not understand what I am asking or totally takes what I say out of context. This app understands on the first try and its at least 5 times faster than siri. Loving it!

Awesome App. I've wrestled with Siri constantly..., voice recognition is useless, even with multiple "updates." Hound had no problems recognizing what I said, AND executes MUCH faster than Siri! No more wasted time repeating myself & getting nowhere! THANK YOU!

Wow this is great. Wish we could use this as the main voice assistant instead of Siri. My only request right now is to have routing directions open in google maps INSTEAD of Apple Maps.

Awesome voice recognition. This thing really works! I even tried talking when I was drunk and was able to book an Uber home. Pretty amazing!

Amazing...but voice is low quality.. The app, by now, should give the option to use a much higher quality voice. Going from Siri or Google Now to this makes me wince.

Siri, Cortana, Google Now...Take notes.. Great assistant app! I now just use Siri to open hound to search for information. It's feedback is near flawless. This is how it's supposed to work.

Somehow Better Than Apple And Google. Hound is amazing. It can do just about anything Siri can do, and more. It can do system actions you wouldn't believe it could (sending texts, etc.). It also supports multi-word translations, putting Siri to shame. And you can even type to it. Did I mention it is significantly faster than Siri? Keep working hound, you're amazing already. Next steps: -Remind me... -Schedule a calendar event... -what's on my calendar...

Very impressive. Beats Siri, Google, Cortana hands down I didn't think I would need another voice personal assistant app but I'm glad I give app a try this will become an Apple essential very shortly.

The Future is Here. This is the most amazing assistant program I've ever seen in my life, I feel like Iron Man using it and I can't believe it's made by 3rd party developers and better than any native Siri, Google Now, or Cortana. I just want a function to replace Siri with it completely. People need to know about this

Amazing. Hound simply puts Siri and Google Voice to shame, it is fast, intelligent and versatile. The only thing needed for future updates is a widget on the "Today / Notification" board on the drop down menu of the iOS for faster search results. Nonetheless, I love this app!

Nice, but why?. If I have to open the app, I'll use Google Now itself right? why do I need one more app? Anyway, it'll good if, once phone is unlocked, (on battery or on charge), like iPhone's assistive touch, a floating hound logo should be available on any screen, where you can touch it or activate by voice. Anyway, I prefer that option by Google now. Nice try Hound. Keep it up.

Better than Siri... except. Political correctness has no place when providing a dictionary definition. Take the word "misandry." Unlike Siri, which accepts and defines it accurately, Hound, though obviously understanding the word (it is correctly spelled)... it denies that such a definition exists. If no such word existed, Hound would attempt to spell the word "miss an dree." Please Fix this omission and realign the delusional troglodytes responsible for this omission.

Best voice assistant ever. This app is fast, functional and beautiful. It remembers old conversations to improve user experience with linked answers. I will never use Siri again.

Changing the way I search.... App has worked beautifully, already ordered an uber instantaneously with my voice...

What's the temperature?. As soon as I saw Hound was and thing and a few demos I was pumped to check it out and give it a try. Downloaded the app allowed it to access all it requested and once I got to the end & time to ask "what's the temperature?" The mic doesn't pick up what I'm saying and keeps telling me to get closer. I tried using Siri to see if it was my mic, but Siri worked just fine. Very disappointed.

Exciting. Really cool potential Things I need: - ability to turn off the sound it makes when you initiate a search - bug fix for logging into uber, at least through the "login via fb" option — does not work (for me at least)

I'm floored. Hound voice assistant is awesomeeeee and way more advanced than Siri.. Sorry my dear Siri don't get mad at me for saying this but this way more cool can do lot of advance searches also it was able to understand different accents quite naturally and quickly.

Great app so far, but a serious bug. I was using the app for about 20 minutes, and it worked beautifully. Then I quit it from multitasking and launched it again, and now voice searches don't work. I tried hitting the microphone button but it just bounces a bit and doesn't do anything. Please fix this. Thanks.

It just works. There's not a lot to say when you can start with it just works. The app doesn't have access to some of the features Siri does but for me the Voice Recognition is better.

Incredible. Head and shoulders above Siri and Google now. There are probably areas it can improve upon, but I have not seen them yet. I'm hoping Apple acquires this quickly and integrates it with Siri.

If Bing banged Siri.... All this app is doing is giving me Yahoo and yelp results. Unfortunately, these results are usually very pathetic. I asked simple questions such as, "where are the video arcades within 10 miles of me? "And what I get back is a list of websites that have video games on them. I have asked several requests and have found them all to be sad compared to google and Siri. I did the experiment. They have a lot of work to do. Their voice recognition is good, but that is all.

The Missing Link?. Still testing it out, but right out of the box it's faster than Siri. Why didn't Apple either develope this tech into Siri or buy this from the Devs? Yes, so far, this app is that good. Saving the last star until I finish testing it.
