The Essential NP Guide. This app is amazingly useful. I have used it to plan every single one of my trips to a. Atinó al park, including picking camping sites and navigating the trails at the park with no phone signal. It is my go to tool for trip planning. I especially love the altitude info that you can follow along the routes and the photos and ratings of the trails. Functionality missing that would make this app perfect: ability to list or map all campsites or all parking lots without the need to zoom in on the routes.

Not all parks are included. I was really hoping this would help me complete all of the trails in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National lakeshore but it doesn’t include those trails! It shows the lakeshore on the map, and the roads within, but none of the trails. Since that’s the closest park by far, it was a big disappointment. From looking at the other content I probably would’ve given it five stars if it had my favorite park!

Great App - Lacks a Few Things. I love this app for 3 reasons: it offers useful trail data, it works well offline out when out of service, and it is easy to select family friendly hikes, but after using it extensively for four years, it is missing a few key features. 1 ability to see roads and trails at the same time. At times you need to navigate to the trails, not having a visual of roads anywhere, it is sometimes unclear when you switch to map apps for driving to a trail which trailhead you need to access. Also in some parks you need to see which trails are hours away versus easily accessible. You just can't tell without roads. 2. accessibility, eg the text is tiny and cannot be zoomed or enlarged. Having a list of accessible hikes would also be helpful. 3. Beyond the highlighted trails, there's no a search feature for hikes, and it can be hard to find ones that are suitable. I would love to be able to search keywords like "quiet" "view" or "elevation" "dry" 4. No way in the Grand Canyon to see north and south rim separately... I continue to recommend the app, but these improvements would make it even better.

Extremely Helpful. This app not only showed us some great places to go but while on the trails the gps never failed and we actually helped two other hiking groups find their way as well! I recommend this to anyone who wants to get more hiking experience, it makes it easy, approachable, and fun.

Trail precision. I love this app and the service it provides! I had went hiking in the mountains and on my way back I got a little off path and to save time versus backtracking I looked at the app and it showed my location to the path and I easily found my way back on path. Also don’t forget the sunscreen!

Used to be a good app.. I don’t know what happened with the last update. The app no longer works on my iPad. The nice UI that allowed you to easily get to the National Park that you want to see is gone. Instead, you get a screen that says “Guides in progress” and trying sort by most popular or alphabetically does nothing. If you attempt a search, you end up back on the search page with no parks found. Did Adventure Products take over this app and try to make it like their other products? If so, it was a bad idea—I can’t even get a park to come up, so I can’t review the trail information.

Great App!. This app is fantastic for visiting parks. I’ve used it on several trips now and it makes planning and exploring super easy! Only issue I have with it is that there isn’t a way to delete downloaded content after your trip. So after a while the app had several gigabytes of data downloaded to my phone (hike paths, park info, photos, trail ratings etc.) Being able to download parks for offline use is super handy for when traveling outside of cellular coverage, but we need a way to delete the data when we no longer need it.

Fantastic. Best hiking app I've ever used. Profile views, great descriptions. When asked, how much further, I could pull up the profile and say 2 tenths of a mile and 60ft vertical. Better than the park map or the guidebook. Specifically because every trail is there and you can delineate just the parts that work for you.

Great app, but dated info. This is truly a great app. The maps are spot on and the GPS can work even if you’re in a dead zone (download for offline use!) This has a lot of hikes and allows you to see the information easily and freely in the app. I downgraded a star though because some of the information contained within the app is outdated, and needs to be updated. Many trails in different parks have been modified or now require tickets to hike them that can only be purchased through the National Park Service website. For the most updated information please go to the Hiking Project website where most of the information contained here resides.

Incredible App, and for Free!. I never leave reviews on items, but this app is so incredible that I had to, and for it to be free is even more incredible! It’s so detailed and gives an amazing overview of all of the parks. It has helped me plan every vacation I’ve had at a National Park and has been a tremendous help.

Free offline maps. I really appreciate that REI put this out and offers offline maps with gps tracking throughout the national parks for free. I almost bought all trails for $30 because I was worried about a snow covered trail in Yosemite but REI tracked me perfectly, recognized every step, never lagged, and even tracked when I turned left and right in real time. I was able to follow where the trail should be underneath the snow using this app.

Great app for Hiking the Great Smoky Mtns. Just used this app to hike 4 days in the smokies. Very useful. Works with real gps and not cell phone gps. So it never failed to locate me on the trail maps. It shows maps of the trails with points of interest. It indicates where you are on the trail. And it shows if you are not on the trail. It also gives you the trail ascent grade throughout the trail. Nice app

Not quite there yet. Some great info but not accurate and not all functioning. I filtered to see the parks nearest to me and was surprised the app includes monuments such as Muir Woods but did not list Lassen which is an actual National Park (the title and point of the app). I was able to search to find it. Second issue being that the todo list feature doesn’t work. I tried adding trails to it and nothing. :/ Maybe in the future :)

Great app. Used it for planning trip to Yosemite and while on trails. Accurate info and easy to navigate. Slight recommended upgrades would include more non-trail general info (buses, food options) and the ability to locate others on trail would be awesome. But you won't find a better free app for the national parks.

Is this supposed to work?. Had this on my phone for a while, but been over a year since using. Noticed it updated recently but upon opening I get: “We need to update the data store. Hang on, this will only take a second” Well, their “second” doesn’t match the standard definition of second. After waiting several minutes; I deleted and re-installed the app with the same result. Yes, I can close out of the screen which I am left to search zero parks.

Good Map location. This App showed my exact location on the Trail, when Google Maps was not available. It helped our group make good decisions about whether to continue a hike to reach the summit or turn back.

Best NP app for hiking. I don’t remember if I paid anything for it. But whatever I paid, it is well worth it. I have used this app for a few years and several national parks, like Glaciers, Death Valley, Acadia, Joshua Tree. It is extremely helpful when hiking on remote trails with no cell signal. It basically gives you a trail map, all the information such as distance, elevation, etc. love it very much and it’s the mail app that I use for planning and taking hikings in NP.

Lassen park overland adventure. Beautiful park year round no matter the weather your into. Lots of lakes and things to do such as camping, hiking, biking, snow sledding, dog walking, history and a beautiful forest with a volcano. Easy to moderate hikes not to bad on all ages. Park staff are very helpful and polite. All kinds of roads into the park from either side you come from weather it’s hwy 36,44,89.

App not working. I recently tried to use the app for Joshua Tree and when I opened it I find nothing; No listings of parks, period. Only thing I see is “parks in progress”. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall this app? I’ve used this app many times before with other parks and thoroughly enjoyed it. So what gives?

So much better than I thought!. Really like this app! So useful with being able to find hikes offline and seeing where you’re at. The location is pretty darn accurate. I also really like how it tells you the elevation and mileage at various points of the hikes. Also so nice that you can add hikes to your “to do” list and then mark them as complete when you’ve done it! Some things that would be great to improve/add. One is there may be some glitch with adding “Gems” to your Completed list, it won’t let you for some reason. And it’d be great if the map can overlay the hikes you’ve already done so it’s easy to see where you’ve been, plus just would be super cool to look at

GPS Location. Very thankful our location was visible on the REI app map.- There was no cellphone service in the park and the only way we could see our location was on the REI app map. This was extremely important to us because there were times where we were unsure where we were.

Great App Don’t Need WiFi or Cellular Network. Using it right now on our family trip to Mammoth Cave National Park. In general I’ve not gotten any decent cell service when hiking here or elsewhere in general. I guess they can’t put cell tower in the middle of the national park, lol. The app uses your phones gps on preloaded maps and was spot on accurate. It’s great to be able to see how far out you are or if you followed the right path etc.

Excellent app, just has a few issues. First off, I love this app and program. It has literally improved every single National Park trip of mine, and I couldn’t be more grateful. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. Unfortunately there is some issue when it comes to organization. Some of the “parks” listed are instead units of the National Park system. If there could be a way to separate the actual 63 national parks from the several hundred other units and monuments, that would make the user experience much more enjoyable. Additionally multiple trails appear to be lacking, such as the trail to summit Rainer, cavern trails at Carlsbad and Mammoth Cave, and the trail to summit Denali. If these could be added that would be a tremendous improvement to keeping track of routes taken. Fix these and so long as there are no bugs it will immediately result in a 5 star review!

This is the app!!!. This is the app to visit national parks. I used it for my visit to Yosemite. Even when I lost signal the app still was functioning and showing me the next place in the map . Amazing!! By the way I’m using it again when I go Zion in a couple of months.

Nicely done. App was great on a weeklong hiking trip. It made it easy to plan routes for the next day and stay on the right path while hiking (including elevation tracking!). Works offline which makes sense as many hikes don’t have reception.

REI Does It Again. You can count on REI for great information and equipment to help you enjoy the outdoors. This is a user friendly application that offers free access to a treasure house of current information and maps. Check this app first before buying expensive programs.

One of BEST apps I’ve used. I have 50+ apps on my iPhone and this is one of the top ones. I wish more apps did this — all content is available offline and combined with GPS location services, you can easily navigate your progress on one of our NP trails while you hike. That’s really important because usually you can’t get cellular data service while hiking in the wilderness. We’ve been using it in Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks and it’s been more helpful than the NPS hard copy maps! Thanks REI, GREAT work!

Useless. There is no list of parks anywhere to be found! I did find a way to get to the map, but the map does not show anything other than the name of the parks. You can see the geography And the town’s but there’s no indication of trails or park features anywhere . Pretty much useless! Well, after 4 months I get a response to my review. And it looks like some people have been waiting since January and February. At this point it looks like they rebuilt the entire app. Their solution was to delete and reinstall. Their updates did absolutely no good. I can’t say that I am encouraged by their lack of communication. I will not be giving them any more stars.

best app; will have used in 20+ NPs. I’ve never left a review anywhere before, but I had to say that I used this app for all my hikes on a national park road trip and it is so useful, especially in parks due to low/no service and data. The hikes and gems descriptions are so helpful, and I can see the profile, current position on my hike, the grade, etc all within the app with no internet. The my list function is a little finicky, and I wish you could just see a map of only the things you want to do, but this app is still so worth it.

They destroyed the app. Unclear why the development of the app necessitated having to delete it and download it again, but it’s working again. They have a lot of national parks but not all. It would be nice to see the parks on a national map so you could see which ones are near you — even those that don’t have guides. Also, having just used it, the Grand Canyon would be slightly more helpful if it was split between north rim and south rim.

I live in a National Park, and this app is gold!. I’ve been living in Yosemite for 7 months now and have used this app on every single hike. It even works well on navigating more remote hikes in the northern part of the park. This app is a gem in Yosemite, there is no service in most of the park yet I can still track my location on this app. It tracks elevation gain as well which is very helpful for competitive hikers. Thanks REI!

Crashing!. After the latest update it keeps crashing when trying to open it. And yes I have done everything: unloading and redownloading, shut down phone, exit and restart app. But to no avail. I use this app everytime we go to Acadia, although makes me wish we had more national parks in the Northeast, but I’m planning a road trip to Yellowstone this upcoming year and need this app to work. App is great for a good starting point when planning a trip and other info. If the app stops crashing then I’ll bring the app back again to 5.

All park cameras. Tired of trying to view live camera shots in all the parks and finding at least half of them don’t work. Grand Canyon and Yellowstone not working. Denali only one working, North Cascades hasn’t been working for at least 2 years. And the one I check most often, because it’s closets to me quit working about 6 months ago. I wish there could be something done about it. Since it’s government, I doubt if anything will happen be. Considering deleting app. Ralph Dady

Delete an re install if you don’t see any park info. If you are no longer seeing any park maps, delete the app, then go to the App Store and reinstall it. Worked for me, and now everything works again!! Easily the best national parks app out there.

Favorite National Parks App. This is my go-to resource when I’m checking out national parks in and what to do in them. The app itself is gorgeous and very user friendly. It makes good use of the beautiful photography of the national parks it has resources on. I really like the sorting of the hikes into those that are the “Best Hikes” to hit the highlights and also “Family Friendly” hikes including giving tips on how to make more difficult hikes easier for kids like turning around after a certain mile marker, etc. I recommend this app to everyone I know, definitely check it out!

Never write reviews but you deserve a good one, Made my trip to Acadia way better. Thanks to this app I could get around like a long time local Even offline could navigate on all the trails

As a parkie, this is THE BEST app. I spent last summer as an employee in GTNP and can say that this is the singles best app for hiking in the national parks. The map feature is amazing and intuitive, the trail profiles are super helpful, and the trails that have guides are very well written and helpful. Being able to see my location on the map even without service saved me a few times while hiking through the Utah desert. There are a few glitches every now and then, especially when switching between screens or trying to search for a trail, but overall works very well. If only this app worked outside the national parks.

Great Interface, Works Well. Very user friendly! I’m excited to get back out to the parks and try it out. Sometimes park resources don’t boil it down to the few things you really need to see and this app is perfect for that. This is a great app for studying up on a park before visiting in conjunction with other resources. This app isn’t a standalone resource for all of your outdoor needs; you should still use alltrails/guthook and bring paper maps and ask rangers for suggestions, but what a great additional resource this is!

Just delete and re-download!. I understand all of the frustration and recent bad reviews of this app, but literally the first thing they tell you on the “Troubleshooting - Contact Us” page if you are having trouble is to delete and re-download the app. This solution worked for me. 5 stars, still the best National Park/hiking app I’ve found!

Detailed Hikes and Helpful Pictures. Stumbled on to this app I had downloaded a while ago. Prepping for Southern Utah trip and noted most of the key hikes already planned out for me with pictures as well. Highly recommend.

Great app - but what happened to the content on the iPhone?. I would rate as 5-stars because I love the app except there is now no content on the iPhone version. I can find parks and content on my iPad version, but there is nothing on my iPhone! What happened? I’m not going to take my iPad with me on a hike. My mistake! I deleted the iPhone app and re-installed it and the content is back. I’ve changed my rating from 3- to 5-stars. Thanks for this great app!

App is not working on iPhone 7 Plus. Not sure if it was discontinued or it is just not working on my phone. When I open the app it offers me to go over to 3 other apps one of them is the hiking project (which is not user friendly, I still can’t figure out how it works and what’s the purpose). But I really liked the National Parks app, not sure what happened though

A must have of visiting any major NPS park. I hate writing reviews, but I'm actually taking the time to write one for this app. Amazing, super intuitive, super easy navigation, and best of all everything is available offline! This features even family friendly places specific to each park you're looking up! If you're traveling to any of the major national parks like Yosemite or Grand Canyon, download this app!

Michigan is out of luck. I have recently started to hike and am a photographer so I love hikes that provide photography opportunities. Michigan is home to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (not in the app), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, voted ‘Most Beautiful Place in America’ by Good Morning America (not in the app), and North Country National Scenic Trail (not in the app), Huron-Manistee National Forest (not in the app), and Hiawatha National Forest (not in app.) Why have you forgotten Michigan. As much as I would love to see all the other park and National Forests, I want to start at home. I am sooo disappointed.

Family Unfriendly section. For Zion National Park they offer a Family Friendly section. The number one suggestion is Angels Landing hike. A hike with multiple deaths including a 13 year old girl in 2018. The National Park Service lists this hike as one of the most strenuous and not for young children. I hike and camp with my kids every month and do long hikes with them. Whoever curates the REI family friendly section should be held liable when families use the app as a reference. The app says, “kids that reach the top will never forget the journey or the view”. That 13 year old girl who died doesn’t remember the view.

Best hiking app!. I cannot say enough about how great this app is. I just hiked Grand Canyon rim to rim and used this all along the way. Clearly there is no service in the canyon but the app still worked and showed us all along the way exactly where we were. We were able also to navigate to side hikes and know we were on course. We threw out paper maps and just used my phone for this app. After the Grand Canyon we went to Bryce NP and were sore so not wanting to do big hikes so we just focused on seeing the gems rei suggestions and they were all amazing. Thank you rei for a great app!

There are 62 National Parks. I can’t bring myself to give this app 5 stars just yet, because it doesn’t update often enough. It is always showing more parks will be coming soon, but they never come! This app is wonderful for helping plan a trip, but many of the parks I would like to visit are not on here yet.

Issues Resolved. If you are experiencing issues loading data (aka your screen lists a blank “Parks in Progress” page) I resolved this issue by deleting and reinstalling the app. It worked immediately after being re-downloaded. I love this app and it helps fuel my NP planning!

Gems, Hikes, and Time Saving. Though I only used this app a week ago while I visited Bryce Canyon for the very first time! I really enjoyed using it because it has the NPs to choose from and options of Gems ( The best Viewpoints ) and Hikes that have reviews to help navigate you to what you would consider doing. I didn’t have service but the app worked to show me what to visit in the park which was super cool! A big time saver!

Awesome app. There’s so much info here it’s great. Just about every NP is covered and even some National Monuments and such. But what really impressed me was today when I was at Pinnacles NP I wanted to make sure I was going the right way on a trail in a place where I had no cell service s nothing else would even work. I opened the Trail Map and not only did it show all the trails, but it pinpointed where I was on the trail exactly. Thinking it may have been a lark I continued on and then tried it again. It took a second or two to update and then had moved my location along the trail. I moved off the trail a bit and even then it updated my location in relation to the trail and the parking lot I was headed to. I don’t know whether that works in all parks or not, but it was pretty amazing and may actually save people who’ve lost track of a trail, if they can see exactly where they are in relation to the trail, even in areas where there’s no cell service. Not sure how that works, but I was impressed.

Fantastic app. An amazing app with extremely extensive and comprehensive park info, trail info, maps, etc!!! A must for any outdoor enthusiast!!!!

Unreal. Absolutely amazing app and comes in so much handy while exploring the parks! Would not have found all of these gems if it wasn’t for this app. Highly recommend

U.S. National Parks ONLY. Figured I would review this app in case anyone else downloaded it for Canadian Park use. Only trail data is for the United States National Parks, but looks like a great app overall but I require Canadian trails.

Beautiful app!. So helpful! All in one place, with multiple levels of supportive info for each park. Well executed!

Awesome free app. It will be nice to see the support of Canada national park soon.

National parks hikes. Great app be extra cool if it had gps maps. I may have overlooked it but having hiked some of these in Big Bend the app is accurate.

App navigation. I feel dumb, but when I selected a trail in Rocky Mountain NP and went to the map, I couldn't find any way to get back to the park page or the main page of the app. Any help?

Best National Park App. Use this app to plan my adventures then on the hike. Appreciate REI putting together a thought through app with useful features.

Tons of bugs. This app has alot of potential to be the best outdoors app their is once they fix all the bugs such as photos not loading properly, app crashes etc

Super handy, loved the GPS!. Just hiked in Bryce and Zion and used this app a ton. I like that you can build a to-do list. I love that on the trails, GPS shows where you are on the map and in the elevation profile. That was very handy to know what uphill/downhill you have ahead of you.

Best National Park Trail App. Great app. Not only has info on the hikes but maps are GPS enabled which allowed use when out of touch. Found them accurate and reliable. Of course the price is great too! Thank you REI

Nice, could use a key on the trails, no clue what the symbols mean. A key would be useful for those of us that live in flat lands and arent familiar with this sort of thing. Im going to assume the black diamond is the easiest trail to take my small children on, haha.

Add My Places. This app is beautiful and very functional. My only complaint is that I would like to be able to add places I’ve been to before downloading the app.

So Simple and Easy. Perfect subsections and simple paragraphs. Easy to handle

Solid app. This is an incredible free app, I’ve paid for similar app that contained less information and relatively unhelpful information at that.

Essential. This app helped us navigate and discover awe inspiring spots and must see adventures. It is really far superior to the National park app... this is the only one you really need.

Been there... Just wish I could “check off” when I’ve been to a park.

Essential. This app is essential for people who are not familiar with mountain hiking. I know where I am at all times and iI can plan my trip for the most enjoyment.

Awesome app. Great app for planning your hiking trips. Very easy to use and helps with finding new trails and places to explore, as well as wildlife and plant life you'll see along the trails.

Nice app, but what do the blue squares mean?. Like the app, will use it in an upcoming trip. One question—what do the blue squares/black diamonds/green dots mean? I couldn’t find a legend in the app that explained this curious classification system. Help?

Continue to Add More. I love this app. I hope they continue to add more

Best National Parks App!. Great for those who have limited time in the parks and need ideas of where to go or what to see if you don’t have weeks to fully explore every trail or hike.

Hiking. This app is great, because it’s user friendly, and it shows the best trails for hikers of different abilities.

This is extraordinary. It's a beautifully functioning app, highlighting exactly what it needs to: the photos. Exquisitely done, REI, thanks!

Can’t believe this amazing app is free!. Thanks REI for this incredible app, if the hope was to make me loyal to the brand by providing such great functionality for free, it has certainly worked! I bought AllTrails before heading to Yellowstone and ended up using the REI app way more.

Saved Our Trip. This app is just incredible. It was better than a hiking GPS someone on the John Muir Trail had purchased. It helped us plan our hikes, stay on trail, and get familiar with Yosemite, Sequoia, and King's Canyon. I cannot recommend this app highly enough.

Wow!. We travel all over US in our camper and love to walk/hike and I just found this app. The app is great! I have been an REI customer for years and appreciate what they are and do. Way to go.

Not working. Is something wrong with this app? It's not working...no parks are coming up when searching and my check ins are gone.

Inside Information. I recommend the REI National Park app to all my friends. I use it to make lists of the hikes before I get to the park. The list of Gems ensures I don’t miss a spectacular view I did not know about. Helpful to any visitor to the Parks.

Amazing App. This App is a must have if you plan on hiking In NP’s. Instead of guessing how far you have left or how much higher you need to go this app tells you it all. Still tracks after you are out of service area. Love it.

Photos. The photos are wonderful, and gives me the sense of being there. Thank you!

Not working. Just after this last update I haven’t been able to use the app at all it doesn’t bring anything up when going into the app. Absolutely love the app but when it’s working.. would love for ou to fix this bug.

Used to be a great app. This app does not work on my iPhone anymore, even though it says it will. On the opening screen it tells me “guides in progress”. I cannot search on the map or alphabetical listing. This used to be a great guide that we used as we drove across the country. So disappointing.

Trip of a lifetime!!. I randomly decided to do a cross country road trip. I knew I wanted to go to the Grand Canyon and stumbled across this app. It lead to me going to 9 National Parks in total. It had all the information I needed for each park.

Wow!. Great information and format. One of the best apps I have seen. A must have for the casual traveler to the parks, but enough information for the grizzled vet.

Great resource. Combine information on this app with the park website and handouts to make the most of your visit.

Excellent App. This app is awesome. It gives you so much information about National Parks in the the U.S. It will definitely save you some time doing research. The app hasn't crashed on me as other people say about it.

Solid solid solid app. This is such a polished and neat app. Thank you REI for providing offline maps for free. Amazing repertoire of parks, trails and hikes. I just hope REI keeps adding more stuff to the list. Like Mt. Shasta, Lake Tahoe, Muir woods etc.

$1 charge. Thought this looked interesting. Read the description and nowhere did I see anything about a cost. As soon as I downloaded it I was told I’d been charged a buck. Not happy!! Can’t comment on the app since it hasn’t even finished downloading 🥴

Best free national park guide. I used this App while I visited at Glacier National Park. It showed your exact location without cell service.

What about Georgia.....?. Great app, with lots of info! But it literally has nothing for the state of GA. Wanted to use this app to plan out hiking but it’s a flop...

Just deleted this app. I've used this for some time. Just did the latest "update". Now I have to either use Facebook or establish a new account with this app. As an REI member for many years, I find this unacceptable. Either the marketing or programming people need to be left on an ice flow. They are not serving the needs of members.

Perfect. This is excellent! Absolutely perfect for narrowing down ideas for a trip.

Great App!. Changing my review, I thought it didn’t have canyonlands but you just need to search for some of them if they don’t appear on a presorted list.

Great App. Well put together app with tons of pics and info. I’ll definitely be using it while at the parks.

Just like the REI stores this app is incredible. This is a must have app. Fantastic layout and information. Will be using it this weekend at Valley Forge. Maps, guides, walking and hiking guides, family friendly options and much more info. LOVE IT! Thank you REI.

Updates ruined the app. Since the last two updates this app no longer works AT ALL on my iPhone! I can’t get it to do anything. It won’t display any parks or search for nearby ones. Totally dead. I’m going to uninstall it.

They’re Back!. Great app now that the actual parks are back “live”. Don’t know what happened but glad they’re back!

Disappointed it doesn’t cover most popular park better. A laudable effort, but its coverage of the most visited national park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, is very lacking. There is some content for the North Carolina area but Tennessee is almost non-existant. We are looking forward to a future update that includes it.

Made the hike. This thing works like navigation for the woods. It used gps to show me when I was on and off the trail. Labeled the falls and gave the altitude... this app is what paid apps want to be. It was amazing in the Rocky Mountain National park because it showed the "gems"

Surprisingly useless. The quality of the maps is poor (few details), the selected trails—at least in the areas I know in Yosemite— are definitely not the best routes, and the trail descriptions are useless. Written with the same breathless vapid vagueness of real estate descriptions. Why?? REI— you could do better.

Outdated information, disjointed organization. Too bad they don’t update the information in this app. March 2019 : Just saw that a location is expected to be re-opened in 2017– so how can other info be trusted? When telling you about the Mist Trail, they don’t mention you have to hike to Vernal Falls to get on the trail. They tell you about hiking to Artist’s Point, but the trail is not listed in their trails or hikes.

Working now. Had to delete and reinstall to get it to work.

App needs work. The app isn’t functioning well. It’s difficult to make a to do list and even more difficult to check in. The button to check in doesn’t work. It’s impossible to check in retroactively. Would love to be able to make a running list of all the places I’ve been but cannot do so in this app.

Love this app but hoping for more. This app is fantastic! It’s comes with a solid a library of parks and a robust set of features like offline maps, a great list of hikes and things to explore. But there is still room for more particularly on the content front. 1. There at still parks missing (e.g Joshua Tree) 2. It would be great to add national Monuments and some of the more relevant state parks and regions (e.g big sur, mount shasta) 3. It would be great to get some more user generated content in there I imagine there are countless hikes and adventures the user base could contribute more
