I too, have spent time in tom tom USA app and frankly this app is quite the poor excuse of a replacement. Less features, bigger space hog, @ clunky at best. I would rather use the preloaded maps app that came with my phone.

I spent a lot of $ on 2 versions of TomTom for US/CAN & Europe and now they want to force me to this useless app with no credit. Sent me an email blaming Apple for lack of support, but they support this one and want to take my money again. Done with TomTom. Bring on Garmin! I wish I could give TomTom negative stars

Well, this is different....
Long time user of the older TomTom app here.
-The offline US and Canada maps are over 3GB larger than the older US and Canada version of the app.
-The first and only time I used this new version in my car, the app stopped working. The app was responsive to touch but the icon for my vehicle stopped moving
-The upgrade from the older app is only free for 3 years
-The way the new app functions (look and feel) is considerably different. I didn't find starting a new route by typing an address to be intuitive at all.
Looks nice but a bit of learning curve. Back to the old version for me, at least for now.
4/2/2017 - TomTom says they are bailing on their old IOS app, no longer supporting it after September 2017. After about 15 years of using various products of theirs exclusively, I'm bailing on them. It's an interesting business decision to announce that they are bailing on a functional product before you have a functional, polished replacement, but good luck with that.

You say in your response to me that you are "working hard to provide more features and improvements" to this new, inferior app. The old proverb "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." comes to mind.
Tom Tom has stolen my app :-(
I got a new iPhone and now can't install the navigation app I've already paid for since it's been replaced by this new Go app. Can I get a refund? Or will you make the app I've already purchased available?
New tom tom app is terrible
I do not understand why such a functional app (old tom tom) has been ruined. No good for iPad and they are discontinuing old app that I have been using for years and have paid good money for.

I was one of the first who bought your ORIGINAL app when it was first released. It was great! I used it all the time...then you change the name and changed it to a SUBSCRIPTION base service?! It's a shame, never will I buy any of your devices or subscribe to your services for now on. Nonetheless, thank you for a well polished app that helped me many times...when I didn't have to subscribe to use it.
Bait and switch
Like many, I invested a lot of money for the Tomtom Us/Canada app, used it regularly and fell in love with it. The high cost was immediately forgiven as it was strongly implied that this was a lifelong subscription to such a perfectly laid out and functioning app. Not much time later that app is no longer supported and has been replaced by a complete piece of crap. I damaged my phone and when setting up my new phone I discovered the app which I have paid so much for and fell in love with is no longer even able to be downloaded. Hell with you Tomtom. I purchased a standalone Garmin in retaliation for your insult to your loyal customers and hope others follow suit. You lost a customer for life.

I understand you need revenue to support the old app or need a new app with a subscription model. But this app is so lacking it's unusable. You need to make major enhancements by your Sept end-of-life for the current app or everyone will go elsewhere. 1 star is a mercy rating.
Traffic doesn't work.
I paid for the app years ago and every year paid for traffic, now they move to subscription, give me 3 years of free service for being a paid customer and traffic hasn't worked for almost a month. Have to use the stock maps app, are you going to extend my 3 years because your techs can't figure out what the problem is?
The original tomtom app was flawless, I don't see how anyone would think this featureless app can replace it, it's obvious the customers hate it.
I contacted customer support before leaving my review. The do not have a solution to the traffic issue.
I spent money — a lot of money — for TomTom USA/Canada. I still use it, because it's simply a better and more usable product. It's no longer in the app store, having been replaced by this GO app, which implements a subscription model, even though I've already purchased the maps I want to use. The older app is optimized both for small screen devices and for iPads, and is easy to use on both platforms. This new one is written only for small screens, and operates in stretched mode on an iPad. The graphics and the UI are crude and primitive, as if it had been done as a sophomore school project by a university C.S. student. In addition, the older app uses about 2 GB of storage, but the new one hogs almost 8 GB for its footprint, despite providing less functionality. I'm waiting for Navigon's USA/Canada product to go on sale, will buy it, and will then trash both of the TomTom apps. TomTom should be ashamed of its treatment of the customers which allowed it to establish its presence in the AppStore.
