Unreliable!. This is the most unreliable glitchy useless video editing app I’ve ever used! I just spent hours on a project and it the then this stupid app overlaps the audio and delays it a few seconds just enough so that it screws everything up. Not to mention it’s behind on so many features that plenty of other apps already have it’s absurd. It does this almost every single time I try editing a video. It’s ridiculous. Please fix this app for the love of God and all things good. Edit: I just spent an hour fixing all of the audio to my video and right after I got done fixing it, the audio glitches again and messed everything up.. I’m done with this app. It is so unreliable and seems to waste as much of my time as possible. I could've finished my online course on my computer with all the time I spent on iMovie but instead, it wasted that time and I didn’t get anything out of it since it glitched. You would think that a company as big as apple would at the very least have a RELIABLE app, but instead we have this stupid glitchy app with little to no useful features that would actually matter while editing videos. DO NOT USE THIS APP!

Speedramps make it un exportable. Iphone 12 pro max 512gb and imovie gets hungup on the export until all speed ramps are edited back to normal speed. Other wise compared to a desktop editing software such as premiere, or even shotcut, imovie is just ok ..somewhat of a disappointment. Editing music imo should act like editing a video clip so I have ultimate control. It tries to control how music is edited in as if I don’t or can’t edit in certain parts of a song..maybe make the app controlling music or not, optional. Give me a toggle so I can edit music clips just how I want too. Your way ends the music seconds before the end of the clip making an awkward pause that I can’t control. Fade outs only on beginning and end of the entire video? Not great. It’s as if by default for someone who has never edited a video before and tries to hold your hand too much. The titles are all meh. I wish I didn’t have to design something in photoshop to bring in for a title because the title designing tools are non existent. For what it is It’s the best editing tool I have ever used on a phone for video but so crippled in ways Im seriously considering buying an app that can do everything I’ve been complaining here about Imovie not doing! Thanks.

Making Stop-Motions is Difficult. When I got iMovie, I used it primarily for movies where all I needed was a way to piece the videos together. It was perfect! Then I decided to make a series using recordings from a game I play. Again, it was perfect. Now, I’m working on a stop-motion, and that’s proving challenging. The main reason: Split While I worked on the series, I got very fond of the “split” button where I could slide to where the audio recording ended but the video kept going, click split, and delete the excess video. Having that with pictures would be far better than sliding the side, which makes it very hard to line up audio with the pictures. The other two things are how ken burns is automatically added and the fact that the fade transition is placed between every picture. I would rather it start centered on the picture and remain still as well as having no transition. If these things were fixed, I would have no problems with iMovie

Great app, but some problems .... I have been using this app for 2 years , almost 3. Since I was a new editor, it was kinda new for me and it was a great start. ___________________________________________________________________ Until I started to realize stuff😶.... such as: to much storage or... some of it is downloading from iCloud. It was super annoying but the storage part was mostly my fault. My family had used it on computer which was better on iPad / phone . And I used it on a phone, it had so many more cooler effects ... and using audio is very hard- 🙃 I have to use someone else’s audio since there’s only music ... it was terrible I’m looking at some new editing apps, and.. not going so well . And , the trailers are fun... but I’ve used a lot of them and they get boring sometimes...😕 (I recommend this if you’re new) and once you have mastered it, get a different one. You can still use imove but , this is just my opinion after all ☺️. And I really would love it if you would add green screens or backgrounds to iPad .... so far, I might change editing apps but this is a great app for beginners 🥰 so good luck everyone and I hope you have a good day/night!

Barely good enough. Now, I’ve never used an actual editing program, like the fancy ones on the computer, but I have seen what they can do. And I can safely say that after using Imovie for many grueling hours trying to edit stuff just for fun, it wasn’t fun at all, it was slow and frustrating. The text feature is weird, why not just make it so you can stretch the text across multiple frames instead of just each individual frame. And more filters would be nice, I wanna feel like I’m editing a video not a picture. If I wanted to do that I’d just open my gallery. Also, I want to be able to overlay gifs on top of a picture, ex: I wanted to overlay a gif onto one of my frames, and it kind of worked, but not in the way I was hoping. Because like I said with the text, I wasn’t able to even stretch it across all my frames, I could only add the gif to each individual frame which was super disappointing. I understand Imovie isn’t some grand editing software, but I primarily do most of my work on my Ipad, and I can’t pay for a good editing software just yet. So I’m just kinda stuck with what I can get, and honestly, I’m gonna try looking for other alternatives. -Not angry, just disappointed.

Good but needs more. First of all, I would just like to say this app is wonderful! It’s useful and a great time killer. There’s a variety of intriguing genres and its great to use when friends are over. In fact, the bigger the group, the better! I love the music and the setup. But, like I said, it has its limits. My first complaint is that it takes up way to much space in memory. In fact, every picture and video is saved in Photos, and if I delete them, the movie or trailer is basically ruined. I really don’t like that feature, and if you could just change it—like making the photos part of the app— that would be great. However, I understand if that’s not possible. Second thing, it would be wonderful if there were more leg room on trailers. Once you pick a theme, (action, adventure, romance, etc.) you’re limited in the amount of time, and it already has everything laid out, so you have to do it. Finally, sometimes it gets laggy, I suspect when I have too many things going on, and it’s kind of hard to use it. That really isn’t there fault though. Other than that, this app is really entertaining, and I really recommend it to anyone who has a bunch of people. Thanks for reading my review!

It’s sad, really. First!!!! Let’s start with the pros. First, the quality is decent. It’s nice that you can make trailers and post them on facebook or whatever. When your making a movie you just record stuff from your camera and it turns into little clips when you insert it into iMovie. Cons. When you record a trailer or movie, it doesn’t let you delete stuff from your camera. First time I used it I made a trailer for a horror movie with my brother. I watched it and I was impressed. Since the clips of video were in my camera I deleted all of the little clips and figured that I could still watch my trailer. When I went to watch the the next day, a message appeared saying that there are missing films in my trailer and I can’t watch it. That was because I deleted the clips from my camera! That’s just plain stupid, because if you expect me to actually keep 10 minute videos on my iPhone along with over 20 little clips??? That’s the biggest waste of space ever! And don’t get me started on how much storage the app takes up itself! Unless you want all of your iCloud storage to be depleted in 3.5 seconds, I don’t recommend this app. 😡

LOVE IT. This....is......the......best......editing......software.....I’ve....ever....use. Other editing apps make everything over complicated by making it look all “professional” or “easy”. Some apps make it so you can’t find anything and you have to enter all these strange unhelpful commands while others all you can do is plop the video in, put in a filter, and maybe add some random sounds. But this app is so good! You can do so much with it, it’s super easy, AND if you are willing to spice things up you can put it into pro mode where you can do even more! It’s even better because IT HAS A FRICKING UNDO BUTTON! It’s so helpful if you made a big mistake and you don’t want to have to do it all over again! It also has so many transitions that are so fun to play with along with the funny and awesome sound effects (my favorite it the time travel one) the only thing I have to complained about is that the default transition is fade and so I have to go through my entire video and put it to the standard one witch really annoys me I would also like a *BLEEP* sound effect because it’s so good for humor and if someone says...something... but other than that it’s so good and I don’t understand why it’s only rated 3.9 stars WHEN IT CLEARLY DESERVES A 4.5! soooo yea that’s all I have to say!

This is a good editing app but I’m having some issues. Now this is a great app, I really do love the capabilities of it. But I’m having some issues, like when I go to share a video, after I’ve done it, when I tap Messages or Messenger it will automatically just start exporting to my photos, or if I tap on a persons name that suggested to me, it will not allow me to share it. Now another thing is I am visually impaired, so I use this app because it’s very accessible, but I’m having another issue now this is not necessarily an issue with the app, I would just like to know how to use some of this stuff. I would like to know how to use the effects and music in the middle of a video, and also I would also really love to know how to use the split feature in order to delete clips with the voiceover so if you guys could please tell me how do use that that would be great but other than that this app is great and I love it, so please do keep up the good work, and I know one thing that this app is perfect for especially for blogging because of the merging capabilities. So really do keep up the good work this is helped me Vlog it helped me with countless stuff. So really do keep up the good work because it’s already amazing😻

The iPhone app has many problems. While the app is a huge step up from Memories it has its share of problems: 1) you can’t control whether a picture is displayed as portrait or landscape. After cropping and orienting, it’s hit or miss once uploaded that it will display right. And once it does it reverts back to original orientation when you continue to edit!! 2)not enough music selections. For a 3 trillion dollar company why on earth do they have separate tracks on their Memories function that are not available on iMovie? Merge them so we have a greater selection!! 3) slow: deleting and adding pictures to your movie is painstakingly slow. So I do so while watching TV. 4) displaying text options limited. Why can’t you provide choices to align text on the right side instead of left or be able to move it around and color choices? 5) poor control over how the picture displays. The app automatically zooms in when you don’t want it to. This app has no fix for it and are at the mercy of what the app decides cutting off great landscapes. The above lack of controls and randomness of the app gives this app at most 2 stars.

Not bad, but it’s missing something.... I have used iMovie ever since I’ve had this iPad. It’s simple, easy to understand, and fun. But there are three thing I would like to see added to give a little bit more control. 1. More control over volume and sound design. Like having the the volume slider plus bass gain and distortion sliders so you can make an audio recording sound vintage, huge, or just plain silly. 2. More control over speed and pitch. The speed control slider is already intuitive, but instead of going to 2x speed, I think it should go up to 8x speed to match 1/8th speed. I would like for a separate pitch control slider because having pitch controlled by speed and vice versa is now feeling a bit limiting. 3. The addition of explosion, gunfire, and engine sound effects and the ability to use tracks from Apple Music. The explosion sound effects can just be regular old explosions, same as gunfire, but both should have a distant and close-up variant. The engine sound effect should be up that of a V8 with muffled and straight-piped variants. You should be able to chose starting rpm, ending rpm and load for each clip. For example, you would add the straight-piped V8 sound effect, choose a 3250 rpm start, a 6500 rpm end, full load. It should sound a lot like an LS, which is technically the most common American V8. Other than that, it’s a really fun app. So, I guess you could keep the controls simple, otherwise, it’s not really iMovie anymore.

I’ve only seen 1080P results on an iPhone 8. As far as I can tell, iMovie works great. I had to do some overlay stuff (PIP) which required me to look up instructions for that online, and I learned a lot about other more “advanced” features as well. Once, during many, many edits of a short video, it did seem to stop working, so I just restarted it. I’m looking forward to adding my own music next to see how that works. It’s super easy once you get the hang of it after searching specific online instructions. I mean, skip the basic feature instructions, they are already very straightforward and more or less intuitive. And what a bargain it is!👍 Meanwhile, those other video editing apps might not even have the some of the features you want, except maybe for an extra charge, and/or vampirize your wallet with regular subscription fees, charge $90 for a one time fee, and end up having you in fetal position shaking like a leaf in a corner somewhere wondering how you, at least temporarily, lost that full, unlocked app you already paid a much better price for that went to a $ubscription plan. If this app crashes on your phone or iPad, I don’t have anything supercalifragilistic to say about that. So far, I have no complaints in that department whatsoever.

Not what I wanted.. I got iMove because I wanted to make videos but with only using pictures, and I heard this was a good app. But whenever I but in pictures ken burns is ALWAYS ON! It’s annoying. I’ll turn it off, but then I leave from editing it and close the app, and when I go back it’s on again. I turn ken burns off on all the pictures, and crop them to be the size and place I want, but I can’t because they go back to how they originally were. I also don’t like how I can’t shorten the clips to a really short length, the shortest it can go is around a second, I want it to be shorter then a seconds, what if I’m making a fast paced edit with pictures that are only on screen for half a second, I can’t do that. And because I only 11 I can’t buy other editing apps without my parents consent. And they think that this is the best app, and I Should only use this. I think this app would improve if you could add a setting were you can automatically turn ken burns off, and have the photos back to where they should be, size and shape. It should also be cool if you could make it so you could shorten the length of clips even more. Thank you for reading this.

Mad. I’m giving this a one star rating just because whenever I try to put green screen stuff in there it won’t let me turn it so it’s spacing the right direction, so what’s the point of having a green screen setting in there if when you put the green screen in there it’s not gonna be facing the right direction and there’s no way you can fix it. Number two I personally just think it’s crazy how you can place a sound in an area but once you place it, it goes all the way back to the beginning of your entire video like if you place a theme in one specific spot that is in the middle once you place it take to all the way back to the beginning and then, when you try to fix it, it won’t even let you try to bring it back to that spot that there’s no clipping or no editing. You could do to get it to be in that spot that you want to be I would have to play throughout the entire video. Which is annoying. Number three I don’t like how I can’t add more fun, editing, stuff, editing, stuff that a bunch of the other more famous Youtubers have. I feel like everything is just kind of simple and there’s not a whole lot of fun editing things you can do just mainly clipping and putting videos together I want more than that so

Great, But Here is a Suggestion. Yes, iMovie is a great movie and trailer or film maker, you can make retro trailers/films/movies, romance, teens, family, fairy tale, swashbuckler, expedition, superhero, scary, coming of age, indie, Bollywood, adrenaline, and narrative movies films or trailers. I know, a lot of options 😅. But... There should be an option where you can change the music and where you can have the images and videos you took on iMovie only be stored in the movies on your app, not the gallery. It is a huge waste of space for your device, especially if you make lots of movies/trailers like me. I wish you could make the trailers longer than a minute, and can make it 1-4 minutes at least for trailers. When making a trailer, you can’t hear any talking or sounds just music. Maybe still keep the music, because that is still cool, but make there a setting where you can turn off music and can hear talking and sounds. Still a very great app I recommend, but I am just hoping for an update that will change that and further experience in the update. I hope this is good enough to explain the change I’d be grateful for and to explain to others who might download this app. Please make this change though, if not, it’s fine but thx anyways ☺️

Ughhh. Ok, first things first. You said that when we updated it several previous problems would be fixed. They were not. I looked at the list and none of the issues were fixed. I was excited when I got to update iMovie with all of the new things but my expectations were not met. It gives you the choice of either keeping the text shadow or not. I thought it made the titles look horrible so I took it away. But after two hours, the text shadow always went back on. Next, I am having several other problems. I decided to use iMovie for a school project but it failed me. My dad was going over some things I should edit and I tried to adjust the time of the video so you could read the full thing, but the tool bar with actions, speed, volume, titles, and filters were not working. Three of the choices were grayed out and I was unable to change the accidental mistake. Also, when I got a new iPad, I was also unhappy. I had saved all of the iMovies, but when I got back on the app, all of my previously made movies disappeared. I could not find them anywhere and all of the movies I dedicated my time too, were lost.

?????. Ok so this is not an app I downloaded T-Mobile did it for me on my iPhone 12 which i got yesterday yay! Btw I’m a kid so it’s like a big thing for me before I had the iPhone XR , anyway this app I have seen people make agsm’s ( American girl stop motion) but I’m not exactly sure on how to use the app I thought it would be where I make a scene press pause add some effects blah blah blah etc but I don’t see any features near that and I would certainly like to use this app but if I would download this on my own time I would kinda maybe rue the fact that I did by this I don’t mean any offense to anybody by this review but I think it’s pretty similar to the. “ clips” app but I like clips better T-Mobile also happened to download it for me and it’s cool and easier to use I guess so maybe I’m just new and I don’t understand but if I do understand it later on I will make a new review. Wow! This is long I’m going to go now and review the other apps T-Mobile downloaded for me because I like to review apps. Hope this helps!:-). OH MY WORD I LOVE THIS APP!!! 😍😍. Hi everybody! I love the app IMovie. It all started on one Saturday night when my friend was over. I was making a commercial for my fake toy store just for kicks and then my friend asked, “Are you using IMovie?” I had no clue what IMovie was. She said it was an app that you can make trailers and movies on it. The very next day I decided to try out IMovie, sense it was already on my IPad ( for some reason it came on my IPad.) I didn’t know how to work the app, so I just kind of left IMovie alone for awhile. A few days later, I was randomly at my friend’s house. We made a movie trailer on IMovie, but we did’t get to make the movie. That afternoon when I got home, I decided to give IMovie another try because I now understood how to work it after watching my friend use it. From then on, I kept on making trailers. I never do the movies, but I make SO many trailers. I make them with my friends, and my family. It’s so fun to make them and then show them to your family. Great but I have a big problem. I’m a youtuber my channel is NINJAZOMBIESLAYER I’ve been using this sense the start of my channel and my problems with it is that when I transport a video to my photos and then try to delete it from the imovies it takes a long time to delete I also am never able to delete some videos which forces me to delete and reinstall the app which I’ve done many times the reason this is a big problem is that if I can’t delete the vid from imovies and have the vid transferred to the photos is then I have a duplicated vid taking up lots of storage if I made a 30 min vid and transported it and can’t delete it from the imovies I then have 1 hour worth of video storage which is 5 to 10 GB which doesn’t only effect me but you the developers of this app because people like my sis who only have 5 GB will never be able to use this app which lowers the amount of downloads of your app and it effects us by taking up our storage which forces us to upgrade storage just for this app.

Perfect For Everyone.❤️ But one recommendation.. So I love this app. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I can create some really cool stuff. I’ve been getting more advanced with the editing, and I love everything it can do. You can put text, backgrounds, photos, you name it. My only problem is the music. I have seen some awesome clips and they all have good music. The songs on here don’t have words (from what I’ve seen) and I’ve been really wanting to create a clip with popular songs. This app is much better then other editing apps I’ve seen, it’s simple and easy to use, beginners won’t find it confusing. (I didn’t.) Just play around a little bit, and you’ll soon figure it out. It also has more advanced stuff. So many different options here, and it’s all easy to use! I’m on an IPhone, and I haven’t had the storage or lag problems other people talk about. On a computer it is a bit more complicated, but if you are looking for complex editing I recommend using that. The trailers are also amazing. You have so many different options, and it looks so cool and professional! Overall, super simple and easy to use, perfect for anything! Hope this review helped you, and it would be amazing if the developers could add more to the music! If you are an expert editor or you just want to experiment, this app is perfect for everyone!!

It’s pretty good.. I like iMovie. It’s a good and simple editing system that is really fun to use. But, there are a few things that I wish would change. First of all, the space it takes up. I don't know if there is anything you can do about this, but whenever I record little snippets for a movie, they save to my photos. And I hate that! And to make it worse, when I delete them, I can’t watch that part I filmed in the movie cause I deleted it. And yes, I know. There is something you can do about it. You finish the movie, save to photos, then you can delete all the snippets from your photos. But I wish I didn’t have to do that. I just wish it didn’t add it to my photos in general. Second, the trailers. I wish there was a bit more freedom to the trailers. The app chooses everything for you. You get to pick the topic and everything, but I wish there was more. I don’t like how iMovie chooses the music, how long the clips have to be, and how long the trailer is in the first place. I don’t usually write reviews, but this app deserved one. Other than some of my complaints, this was a really good app. Everything is free and available, there are more editing possibilities, and it looks very professional. Again, if there’s anything you can do about my complaints, I would do it. I feel like these are common complaints and you would get more buyers if you fixed or changed them. Thanks!

Won’t let me watch the videos I made!. If your gonna use the app once to make one video then never watch it again, it’s great! Go for it! Simple app. BUT if you actually care about the videos you made and want well edited videos then no. Although they have advanced a little, the editing is very minimal. I eventually switched to other apps with more options. But from time to time I’d still like to go back and watch the videos, but it’s always like “Downloadng videos. Some of the videos are being downloaded from iCloud” like what 😭⁉️ it almost never lets me watch any if the videos, and it only works (sometimes) when I click edit, but then it erases the date and re-writes it to the day it is today! And sometimes I go to my camera roll and try to find all the videos I put into it and make sure there downloaded, so then I can see my work, but it still doesn’t work!! I put lots of effort into my videos and love to see my old work, but I can’t! Therefore I would recommend something else, where it’ll actually let you watch you videos. Thank You, and I will change my review if this bug that’s been in the app forever is fixed.

TRAILER MAKER IS SO FRUSTRATING. This app is pretty good and has a decent movie maker, but it has some issues. I’m not getting an crashes but it does need more features. I think this app would be a lot better if it had some more trailer making options. You should have an option to make videos in the trailer maker have sound instead of just music. Also the music and backdrops and effects should be editable. It’s stupid that you can’t edit it. Also more genres would be funnier. It’s really difficult to get the right feel for the movie. And the thing I want the absolute most? I want the videos I film IN THE APP to stop going TO MY CAMERA. I’m a neat freak about my phone storage and I can’t film one thing without my storage getting all filled up with stupid mini shots and it’s SO LAME. It made me really mad especially because I always have to delete them so they don’t hog my storage! If these problems were fixed it would be totally perfect but it’s not which made me so sad because I can’t find any other apps with a decent trailer maker. Also one more thing the teen trailer maker is so hard to work with because of the random images in the backdrop not matching the text. SO ANNOYING! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

LOVE iMovie, but wish there is some changes I could do. I love iMovie. It’s amazing and there’s so many creative things that you could do. I love the music love the credits and I just love the way everything looks, but there is a few complaints. This might not make sense but sometimes when I’m trying to pick a video I press down on the video and it doesn’t let me put it on the story board and that just annoys me. Second, I wish that we can make our own story boards because on iMovie, the storyboards are basically all I ever do. I wish we could pick our own music and do our own backgrounds, so we could be even more creative and do a whole intro about us. Third, just like somebody else said, I also wish the videos on the story boards wouldn’t save to our camera because it takes up so much space like somebody else said I don’t want to save the videos on my camera. But aside from all that, I love iMovie, and it makes me so creative and I love showing my videos to everybody. I don’t want iMovie to not be an app anymore because I love it, but these recommendations would help me so much and make iMovie even better than it was. Thank you so much.

it can’t even crop a video.. This app is horrible. And I mean HORRIBLE. I used to use it to crop videos from the photos app on iphone but one day the option to do that disappeared from the photos app. So i went into the imovie app itself. Trying to crop the video itself was a pain. Trying to crop off just a few seconds took minutes because of lag. Once i was finally able to crop my video (i only needed to crop off around a minute) the change didn’t even save! Well it did. But it wouldn’t let me download or upload my edit at all! It would SHOW me the edit i made when i went to look at the video but when i downloaded the video it just gave me the original uncropped video. So i eventually found a strange work around where it would let me download my cropped video ONLY if i cropped it while selecting it as the video i want to edit. But get this. When i finally downloaded my cropped video it was completely horrendous! There were glitches EVERYWHERE. I swear to god looking at the video for too long would cause a seizure. The screen was constantly shaking and playing between the last few frames and the next making it a completely disoriented mess. Theres no way my file was corrupted because i was literally just trying to crop a screen recording. This app is horrible. Use something else.

Add more trailers. Add the if trailer and the and the Garfield movie trailer and the Mario movie trailer two more to go the bad guys trailer and last, but not least the DespicableMe 4 trailer and add the voices in for the scary movie trailers add one of those scenes at the credits for the show, see with a jump scare in Addmore sound effects in the movie maker I forgot one actually no five more trailer space jam a new Legacy trailer I couldn’t think of any more, so going to move onto some more details add the thing where you can choose the animation for your characters also, make it where you could choose the rating on your trailer add these types of ratings PG PG-13 ur put these 10 more sound effects in the movie maker and make it where you could choose when your character can look like here are the ones you’ve got to add Minecraft anime monsters superheroes, and modern people one more thing that you should do change the name of your movie maker app call it movie maker infinity good luck. OH I FORGOT IF YOU Did THIS make it a big update now good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😘

Won’t allow me to select clip. With the new update you guys have a bug or something going on. I been using this app for over a year now to edit my videos but with this new update I struggle to select a clip to create. It won’t allow me to select it. I have to repeatedly restart the app to fix this, sometimes even restart my phone. I’ve even tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, done that twice so far. Still same issue. This is the worst issue I’ve ran across but there is more. Please fix this issue! This app I would be a five star for me but I can’t give it that with this issue that has been ongoing for about two months now or so. Usually it has a select clip option and highlights blue when it selects the clip But now it highlights a gold looking color when you tap the clip you want and it don’t give the option to select and create movie clip. This is so frustrating I have no idea what you guys did in this new update but this was never a issue until about two months ago. How can I create my movie clips if it’s not giving me the option to select and create the movie? I found the best way past this is tapping the select all option in which will select all videos in that column which can be up to 3 to 5 different recent videos, so I’ve been having to do that then go back through when it creates it into the editing table and delete the clips I did not want. Wow! Can you see how frustrating and time consuming this bug can be!? Very frustrating! Please fix it!

Really disappointed.. Really, for 5$ (at least it was when I bought it years ago) you'd think it'd be WAY less glitchy. No matter what I do, the same glitches seem to occur for me over the past years. I've been through three different phones, and it's a bummer because I can't find an app that is quite advanced as this one (is supposed to be). The worst thing about all of the glitches if I have to pick just one- is the audio problems. If I made a background clip MUTE, it should stay mute. Sometimes I will save a video to my phone and the entire audio will suddenly be in the background even though it wasn't there when I previewed it. Sometimes I get screechy noises on moments where I made a clip break. No matter what I do I can't seem to fix this or get it to save to my phone differently. It's really agitating seeing as how it's been years. Sigh. Please. This app has so much potential. (Edit) And now I’ll probably stop using it completely because suddenly I can’t use ANY music? What the *** is this?? I paid for this app and can’t use any music because it’s “protected”. I’m making this video for my own personal use. I should be able to use the music on my phone. So close to my favorite movie makers. This app is probably the best one for video making without watermarks. I feel like it can have more. You have made a green screen which was probably my favorite thing about the update. Well I also feel like we can have cutouts. What I mean is cut something out and it would be in your videos. This will help so much for me plz and thank you. I also feel like stickers would work too. I love stickers for some reason. It just makes me feel amazing how the animate stickers look. Something that would be amazing in my series is drawing. I love drawing it just something that makes it awesome for me. In your videos you draw something and it looks just so cute. I love how they do this it’s amazing. Maybe more sound effects to I love dramatic sound effects like the horns or the punchs. I really hope you like these ideas. Perfect movie maker for iPad. I use this app almost every day in connection with animation apps. As a long time video editor, I am very impressed with the various features of iMovie. I have used this app to shoot and edit videos for every social media website. The best thing of all is iMovie’s linkage to iCloud. I can create, edit and save everything from trailers to feature length documentaries on my iPad using iMovie. It works across all my devices and makes it very easy to edit and create a quick movie for followers, friends and family in both work and social settings. Glitches from iOS 12.3.1 update. Please, Please, Please Fix! I only use iMovie and usually love it...however, Since the latest update for my iPad that includes green screen there are a variety of issues making the app difficult to use....I feel very inconvenienced after having to start again and edit an hour long movie three times! Lagging start and editing, Greyed out clips and a black preview screen, glitches....overlays blacked out, some clips fine some blacked out, also after adding new clips to the edit when I press to play the movie it says it’s “downloading from iCloud” but it never does. I have iCloud Photo Library option on “Keep Originals”, and the iCloud option for iMovie off, yet it still tries to download from it. I even signed out of my device and but it gives the same message. If all the clips used in the project are in full resolution on my iPad, I signed out of iCloud AND I had the setting on “keep originals” why is it still trying to download from this cloud?. The other perfectly fine clips also glitch and sometimes say the same message. All the clips ultimately alternate from being fine to acting out and being blacked out and glitching. Movie taking forever to load or freezing..have tried troubleshooting by restarting the movie from scratch...Same thing happening since update.

⚠️DO NOT GET THIS APP⚠️. I used to love iMovie. However, once I started to take editing seriously, the app failed me. I would work long and hard on editing a project and then the app would ERASE all my work. The part where it shows my videos is black. I cannot play the video nor edit it anymore. There was one time when I somehow managed to save the edits I made, but nine out of ten times I’ve lost my work. If I could give it zero stars I would. I’m warning people now, do not get this app. There are many times I have wanted to write a review about this app, and how it takes away all your hard work, but most recently I went on a trip, and took videos there and started to edit them. Just now, today, I was editing it, and the screen went black where it shows my video. I couldn’t save my edits and hard work. And I can’t retake those videos. The only other option was to start all over and take hours and hours to do it. I did not have the time. But today, when I was editing it and the screen went black, I decided to write a review because I was fed up with it taking my hard work. In conclusion, this app is not a good choice if you are really trying to edit well.

Works as a video “arranger” but there’s no excuse.. You are a billion dollar company wasting millions of dollars on unimportant stuff. You have no excuse for a crappy, half-baked program. I just made my first big project on iMovie and I hated the experience. The first major issue was the fact that when I tried to select an image to change the length, it sent me 2 minutes away to the beginning of the clip. And when I tried to scroll back to where I was, it deselected the image. I was furious. That meant I had to do precise things while zoomed all the way out. And even worse, when I accidentally held my finger near the right edge, it jumped all the way to the end. The next colossal error is the audio. You can never have two audio clips one after the other because they either overlap or they don’t touch. Also, the added audio shouldn’t be connected to the images. Like when I delete an image, I don’t also want to delete all the audio I carefully put in there. And when I move and image around, I don’t want the audio following it. And please add grid-snapping and customization. Just get some inspiration from GarageBand, Kdenlive, and Linux. AND ADD SOME MORE CAPABILITIES. Any other program can splice two videos together, which is currently all that your program can do well.

AMAZING APP!! DOWNLOAD NOW!. Ok, so I don’t leave reviews for apps barely, but I’m going to because this is like one of my most favorite apps. So I am a small YouTuber (Triple8Gaming plz sub) and I’ve used iMovie since summer of 2020, (I mostly do videos on ROBLOX btw) and I’ve LOVED IT. My videos have been getting lost of views because of it. And the newest update to text and stuff is something I’ve wanted since I got it!!! And the background is something I’ve really wanted as well. iMovie is really awesome as well cuz u don’t have to pay money and it’s quick and ez but GREAT! You can trim on it, there’s plenty of music, but I recommend maybe some more popular music, but anyways, I totally think you should get it, because seriously, this is my favorite and best editor I got. Sure, it doesn’t do everything, but it’s still really great! But one thing. Something that I recommend for the next update is coloring, stickers, maybe some sort of cool effects you can put on, and stuff like that. Pretty good. I love this app and it is amazing I have always wanted to make movies and become a detector but the trailers make me crazy you can’t make noise from the movie like in real trailers over the music and you can only put certain amounts of clips and you can’t even choose what music and all that is so annoying I hate it like trailers are to show the awesome parts of your movie but because of all that that is impossible to do with this app please make that better now for the other thing this app has completely failed for me I can’t play on it anymore it keeps saying I need to re-download and when I do it says I have to do it again and again and again however if I ever get back into this app again I will play it all the time I love the it is really pretty good I just wish the the trailers were better and less defective I mean it even ruins the clips you can put in by zooming in and cropping and stuff like that I need that fixed please but minus that the app is amazing I just wish it would let me in cause honestly without the annoying trailers it is amazing and I love it

I am OBSESSED!. I have been using this app since I was 6 years old and I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! I especially love the new green/blue screen affect. I have made dozens and dozens of videos using this app. The only think that I would change is the trailer making part. I would like to add videos and clips into it that have sound and optionally hear the sound. I also would like to be able to add audio in the background. (Like in movie trailers when you hear the characters talking in the background) I also think that the green screen could be easier to use. It doesn’t work very well at all unless you have an actual green or blue screen which pretty much none of us are going to have. I also think that you should bring back the theatre. It saved me so much space because I could actually delete the videos and pics from my photos but the movie is still saved. And you might think that with these complaints I would do 4 or 3 stars but these are minor issues, there is nothing big, and I just love everything else so much I have to do 5 star. There are always going to be things that aren’t perfect but there are only a short couple with this app and I recommend it to all. DOWNLOAD NOW!!

the app is starting to crash ... This app is extremely great. It it so great for comedy videos and vlogs and more. This is the one and only app I use because it’s the best..but, it’s been crashing lately all sudden..while I’m working on my video, it’ll turn the screen black and won’t let me see the video at all. also when I’m trying to split the video it wouldn’t show and when I tap on the clip it will take me back to the clip before. However, when I put sound affects into my clips, when it glitches or crashes, it will place the sound affects further back and not where I want it to be. I love this app but it gets me upset because I end up deleting my hard work project that I put effort in because of the crashes and how everything gets all over the place and messes the video up. I also tried saving my project before it gets worse instead of just deleting it but it told me “fail to export”. Please fix these issues because I don’t like dealing with this situation that kind of gets me upset and just wastes my time and so as other people. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Not as great as I remember. When I started using iMovie as an beginner’s tool a couple years back, it was very easy to use and understand. Every video I made came out exactly as I edited it, and I could do it for hours on end with no issues. Now, I have moved on to other softwares as I’ve improved, but I came back to this one to use as a base for my more simple clips and audios; plus I already knew how to use it and expected it to be just as easy as I remembered. But, coming back, I notice how it keeps crashing, whether it is a sudden black screen that forces me back to my home screen a second later, or even glitches within the app. For instance, I tried changing the volume of an audio by selecting it—and it split it where I had selected it?? It may sound like a small bug, but it gets very frustrating when it happens over and over again and I have to undo it. It was never like that before. Same issue with clips, sometimes it won’t even let me select one I want to crop or slow down, etc. It forces me to leave the project, the app itself, sometimes even to the point of turning my phone off just to get it running again—just to get it to crash again. I really hope you guys find this and fix even the small issues, iMovie was so brilliant before.

Update: uploaded 4K at 60fps... at last.. I have an iPad 6th generation, and the description of this app says I should be able to export at 60 FPS for 4K video. I’ve had immense difficulty uploading 4K video at 60 FPS previously, but it just worked for me. The video was extremely short, being less than three (3) minutes in length, but it did finally work. Last week (Nov 20, 2020), I couldn’t even upload at 30 FPS if I tried to export the project as a 4K video, which was extremely irritating. That was on the shorter end of a normal-length video for me, being only 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Usually my videos are at least 7-8 minutes, as I try to aim for 10 minute videos. I would like to aim for longer videos, as my 25 minute video really took off for how small my channel is, but I’m not sure if I would be able to export that in 4K, and even if I could, I’m not sure if it would have to be 30 FPS, or if I could export it in 60 FPS. For reference, i film exclusively in 4K 60 FPS, so all of my videos are high quality. That’s why I find it immensely irritating to have this limitation in the editing software when the description of the app says I can export in 4K 60 FPS and I have the 6th generation iPad, so I should be able to, yet it’s given me so much trouble when I try to. Hence the 2-star review. At least it’s gained one star.

How can a company take pride in something so awful. This app used to be good but for some reason I can’t even make simple videos for school projects without having to struggle immensely for no reason. I read some of the other reviews and I’m glad I saw some regarding the issue with placement. You can’t place things on your own. For sample I tried to drag a audio clip to start at a certain point in the video. Every time I would try to place the audio bar in a certain place the app would automatically move it a couple centimeters ahead or behind. This makes it so frustrating to get good timing in my videos because of this stupid i don’t even know what it is. You guys make countless of updates but your staff seems to have inherited Stevie wonders vision because it actually seems like the bugs and glitches are getting worse. Of course I’m not expecting professional level editing for a free application, but if an app that apple proudly presents for their customers to use can barely place an audio bit correctly, than you guys need to start getting laser eye surgery and making some REAL changes and updates. Oh I’m sure you fixed the bugs just like your updates say. You don’t.

Needs HUGE debugging. I am an amateur gaming editor and I have been using this to improve my skills. I have also created memes out of it and it is an absolute blast using this app. I always love using it to create something entertaining. However, there are a lot of bugs that need fixing. One for example, is videos that I recently added have a tendency to not show up when I go to edit them. I spent an hour trying to port a clip from my camera roll to iMovie, cycling through different methods and jumping through tons of hoops just to be able to create a quick montage for a client. A gaming edit that shouldn’t have taken more than an hour or so took three hours because when I went to grab more clips from my camera roll, the same thing happened. This really needs to be fixed. This problem alone is enough to steer me towards uninstalling and using another editor. Other than that bug, it is an amazing app. It is extremely user friendly and easy to learn and I think everyone should play with it to make something nice. Please address this issue! 🙏🏻

Garbage editing software…. It is a simple editing software BUT THERE IS SOME PROBLEMS. One, I was trying to insert a .png without a background as a picture in picture. I tried to place the .png while on the frame of another picture in picture. The .png ended up getting inserted in and didn’t even show up in the iMovie I was making. I click on the picture in picture to see it is short as flip, and invisible as mentioned earlier in this review. This also happened when I am currently on a frame that has a picture in picture. Two, I tried to insert a video clip in at the end of a iMovie and the clip image suddenly disappeared from “Today” and got inserted in at the very beginning of my iMovie instead of at the end where I wanted the clip to be. Three, it wouldn’t open up a iMovie I wanted to edit. I had been working on 2 videos for nearly 4 videos. One being 5 and a half minutes and the other being 70+ minutes. No matter how many times I clicked on “edit” for the 5 and a half minute video, it wouldn’t open up the movie. When it did open up the movie, I couldn’t even do anything with it. This problem is extremely frustrating. I want to use a different editing software that will actually allow me to edit my videos. This “editing software” called iMovie continues to prove to be a disappointment coming from Apple the more I use it.

Garbage. This app could be soooo much better. 1) It crops my videos when I upload them without me knowing until the upload is finished. You have to crop the original and guess what is ideal for the app in order to not have important parts cut out. This is annoying when it already takes so long for the app to upload some of the content. 2) It takes forever to upload videos and unable to retrieve larger files above 10min from what I observe. For an iPhone app, these videos should be available off top or some of the features in camera mode should be available (like speeding up the video) in order to make viewing it in iMovie easier. 3) downloads from iCloud take FOREVER… so don’t delete a video from your phone in the process of editing a project or it will frustrate you greatly. 4) SLLLLOOOOWWWW…. Oh my goodness!!!! 5) Always says there’s not enough memory on phone… even though there is. Just fix this already… I’m over it. This is why I have issue with iPhone. I was good until I was reminded of these headaches dealing with creating/editing small videos. These apps should integrate better with the the phone or there is just no point in having them on the phone. Maybe iPhone overall is just slow. I’m starting to rethink this Apple thing. I have a 12 Pro and I’m sure the same issues exist on the 13.

Great app, but a problem.. Hello! This app is absolutely great. I love how I can make my own movies and it’s so fun! But there’s one problem. So I play on mobile, and every time I try to review or watch my trailers and movies, they always say, “some of these videos are downloading from iCloud.” When I first saw this, I thought I just had to wait. I’ve been waiting for several years now, and it’s been showing the same message. I don’t know what’s going on with this, but I’ve been waiting for a long time for my movies/trailers, and it hasn’t been working. Every movie or trailer I put photography in, it says that message. The trailers that I don’t put photography in, don’t do that. I don’t understand why exactly, but can you please do something about this? Again, it is a good game and I recommend to play it if your bored! But please do something about this because I’ve been waiting for years to review my movies/trailers, and that message pops up. Overall being ruined by many problems.. I’ve used this app for so long. Let’s face it, maybe a few years or 1? It was easy and compressed to used as you could add your own music to Movies at the time, and more. But whatever update it was, it ruined the app. A few days ago I was trying to edit a video I made, and when I recorded my voice over it? Everything had a stroke. My voice was delayed, the video ended too early, my voice cutoff the edge, the cuts didn’t match with the video. I thought, maybe that was a glitch, won’t happen today. So I go to edit a minecraft video, and take a guess what happens. Y’know, I really liked this app and still do a bit, but whatever update that made that.. it ruined it. So I deleted the app out of anger. Fix this or i’ll just give up on iMovie entirely. I had so much work put into it, and right as I get ready to add my voiceover, IT GLITCHES FOR THE 2ND FRICKING TIME. 3 stars, would give it 5 but the glitch ruined it. Fix. This. Also, if this helps, i’m on an iPad Pro. I don’t know much more, just I know i’m on an iPad Pro.

SOLID 4 STARS BECAUSE…. This app deserves and solid four stars BECAUSE it’s a simple editing app and it’s free! Nor complex nothing cost money here which I literally love 😌. I have always used it. nothing got wrong until I used my OLD iPad. Now, this isn’t iMovies fault mostly mine but storage was really full so I couldn’t create stuff. But I do wish deleting your videos wouldn’t affect the videos on iMovies! I thought if you deleted it, you’d be able to still watch but no. I had to recover my vids/photos and let my storage fill up. My mom isn’t a big editor, so I helped her with her very first iMovie video which is really helping her today! (Now it’s not hard but if you’ve never edited before you’ll think it is 😂) I do wish there were effects to add to your videos because I get kinda bored with the filters. Also, I wish there were more green/blue screen types…. I am a HUGE fan of this app and I hope it gets some good reviews because if you give it a 1 star for: full storage, kicking you out etc, that’s your iPad/Iphone. Not iMovie’s. Amazing.. For an app that has major details, 10/10. For me, I am a Gacha Editor, proudly served in Gacha for 3 or 4 years! Besides the point, this app has made me improve so much on my editing skills. IMovie doesn’t have a big variety of editing things. So, I would say because of that reason, people wouldn’t consider this as a big editing app! I’m sorry, I’m just stating opinions on here, but great app in all. I like how you added different text options, that, also helps me with my Gacha Life Edits. I appreciate this app so much. The features, though. You probably should add… Flashing lights, allow us to use our downloaded fonts from DaFont, Font, (ETC.) Like, at the end of my edits they just hang there with no actual editing. I’m not lying, this app is great, but you know.. I always make sure to go into my pairing app that goes along with IMovie, “IbisPaintX” it’s also amazing, just like IMovie! Almost perfect, almost!. So. It’s very rare that I leave a review on apps, but this one deserves it. I have been having an absolute blast with this, especially since I’ve really gotten into drone photography and it’s the perfect tool to make for video editing. My favorite feature honestly is making the movie trailers, it’s so fun with a compilation of media. The ONLY issue I have with it is that I’d love more freedom. Once you pick the general theme it predetermines what you can do. It boxes you into a certain amount of clips per section and has a variety of different kinds that you cant control whatsoever. So for example. One section in the trailer would have 3 slots for clips. The first one would be a .9 second, the next one would be a 3 second closeup (which is very annoying since it zooms way in on the picture or video and there’s nothing you can do to adjust it or stop it.) so if it’s a video it could focus in and cut out what you actually want to show in the clip which makes it impossible to use a lot of media. The third one could be 1.5 seconds. The fact that you can’t change the number of possible clips in a section and that you can’t change the duration of any of the clips is very frustrating. But beyond that this is an AMAZING app that I will love using for a long time, definitely worth having to be more strategic on what media I place where.

I love this app, but it needs more. I am tall years old and I love this app for editing things however when I’m going to select a picture of video they’re all scrambled up and weird ways and sometimes it’s almost impossible for me to find the one I’m looking for and the next update can you make it so that way the videos and pictures are in order and can you please make us a slider that allows you to disable pictures or videos so I can find them easier also it’s annoying to have to download them from iCloud when I want to get a picture back and then whenever I try to click on something that’s an iCloud it says that I cannot find the video can you please make it that I can view iCloud, that way when I go into a video which is this is an iCloud and it will download it for me without telling me that I had to download it that’s just some things that I would like I love this app

Great app. If you are thinking of getting iMovie it’s worth trying because it is free to use and made for anyone with experience or not. I enjoy making movies with my family or just simply using it for speeding up or slowing down videos. I’ve tried some payed video editors but iMovie stands out for being the easiest for anyone on iPhone or iPad. The reason why this review isn’t 5 stars is because sometimes iMovie crashes or lags when I’m using it for simple tasks on an iPad Air 4. Otherwise it’s still worth downloading.

Great app but very flawed. This is a very useful app that helps you create some really stunning and overall great films but I have a few problems with it. Firstly, while editing my movie, I encountered many glitches where the little blimp where it said was and where it actually was playing from. The only way to fix this was to restart the app. The second problem I have comes when saving the video. After finishing the film that I had worked on for three days, I saved it in my camera roll and watched it back only to realise a lot of the audio clips were out of sinc. This was heartbreaking. I shed a tear. And there was no way to go back and fix it because the previews in iMovie showed they were all in sync as well as in editing but when I saved it it was out of whack. PLEASE FIX THIS. I was working on an iPad Air 1 on ios10.

Themes. Dear Apple, Can you please bring back the CNN iReport Theme. I just wish it was still there. But sadly it’s not. Why did you have to get rid of it in the first place. Also can you add some other new themes like a documentary theme or a cinema theme. Now let’s be honest those are some really cool themes. In the documentary theme you could have stuff that you find in a documentary. In the cinema theme you could have camera size like widescreens and cinema screens and an old TV screen. Fix this!. Hello there my name is James I think this app is pretty great but there is a couple things I would like you to fix 1. When I transport files from OneDrive to iMovie it says ‘scanning complete iMovie will not accept this file’ 2. It’s very glitchy to edit with when I finally figured out how to take files from onedrive to iMovie I had to delete the app and reinstall it to work but when I did iMovie glitched and lagged kicked me out and when I finally got in I tried transferring my movie to my photos/videos the transportation would not work it would just be stuck were it’s stuck I guess 3. iMovie has made my iPad a very glitchy platform please make this app glitch free 4. When I downloaded a file onto iMovie it wouldn’t play unless I go back and download it again but when I downloaded the file I had about 1 min till it wouldn’t work again and say download again Please fix these things because I love this app and I really want to keep it but I can’t keep it if it always does these things Please fix this PLEASEEEEEE!!! 🥺🥺🥺

APPLE READ THIS PLEASE. I love the app so so much and I use it all the time, well atleast until my iPad decided to put it on iCloud because I was low on storage. So I went to get it back and it didn’t appear on the App Store, so I found it on safari instead and it took me here, It told me I need iOS 13.0 or later so I updated, ( I have iPad mini 2 ) and it only updated to 12.4.5 so i went back to settings to update again and it told me I was on the newest update 🤷🏼‍♀️. I told my dad who works in IT what happened and he told me that my iPad is too old! Last time apple did this I had to wait a long time to get iMovie back and I REALLY need it for school projects.

PLEASE REPLY OR FIX THIS!!!. Hey please respond to this, anyway, iMovie keeps on glitching and annoying me!!! Like, sometimes when I click on a clip that I want to edit, it will go straight back to the start of the whole project and if I try again, it does the same thing!!! And I hate how if you delete the original clips in the project off camera roll, it doesn’t let you see it in iMovie! I do not know if this happens with every editing app, but please try your best to fix this. The most neglected Apple app. This app could be great if they’d fix the serious performance and UI problems it has. There are incredibly long periods where the app freezes, for example just after snipping a clip. When the app is busy processing something, it just freezes up and there’s no progress bar or any kind of message what it’s doing. Trying to move around and align clips, audio, and music tracks is very difficult - just good luck with it. You also CANNOT import cinematic clips with the edits retained from the photos app, and there’s no way to change the point of focus of a cinematic clip from within the imovie app. There’s lots more problems I don’t have time to go into. I’m trying to edit an 11 minute video right now and it’s crashed at least 20 times during the editing, takes 10 minutes to recover from each crash, and now it’s crashing when I try to export the movie too. Wasted I don’t know how much time on this thing. I’m using the latest iPhone 14 pro max. This is unacceptable.

So easy to edit!. This app is really good I find it so simple and quick to edit. A new feature I’d like to see is if you could move the title around the screen to place it where you want it. Also it really needs some more music provided. Something happened recently tho, I had spent hours and hours editing this video and I was nearly done and the app had been constantly crashing and glitching, and the next time I went to do the last bit on that video, the app crashed and it hasn’t let me into it since. I’ve tried everything to get into the app, my phone has plenty of storage left and the app is up to date so that’s not the problem. If I delete the app and get it back again I’ll lose all that editing I did. Please make an update soon and fix the glitches, maybe if I can update it it’ll let me in. Thanks

Great With a Few Problems. I really like this app. It’s fun and easy to use. I have made some really cool videos on here. I have encountered a few problems though.... First of all if you use videos in iMovie, then delete them in your apple photos, you won’t be able to view them in iMovie again. Second of all there have been glitches while using the app. And last has been my biggest problem; For a while I stopped using the app, and when I tried to reinstall it, it wouldn’t let me. I was gutted becuase this was a great place for me to edit my videos. Then I came to the App Store to see if I could, and it told me that I could only have the old version, not the new version because I don’t have the right software. It’s quite annoying that it requires iOS 14 or later because that stops people with less advanced people from editing videos.(Me) I don’t mind using the old version, but would much rather the new one. I’m about to purchase an IPhone though so will be able to use the updated version. I really thouroughly love the though app and would recommend in future. : )

Good...but..... I love iMovie it works so good I use it for all my films but it needs an update. I look every we’re for an app that can reverse footage I’ve found one but it take for ever to save on camera roll so maybe you could add the feature of reverse. Another thing I’d like to talk about is the text I don’t have a problem with it but maybe you could add more types and be able to change the colour of the text. It would be cool if you could control the brightness of each video in the film. And I think you should be able to do green screen in iMovie if you just add all those features the app would be great.

Too simple for an amateur, and it’s driving me mad.. Okay, I know that iMovie is supposed to be simple but, why can’t I make it 4:3? Also, why can’t I move green screens? Double also, why can’t I remove the ugly bars from overlays when they aren’t 16:9? But wait, it’s worse! You can’t make your videos in true portrait mode! And, when I modify audio, at least when it’s been detached, it just refuses to play until I reimport the ENTIRE source video. Your app isn’t just flawed, it’s too simple for proper uses. You can keep your goal, but make the application more usable. Why did it take you so long to allow for a video in video mode and those other things. I’m getting sick of it. I’m an amateur and the limitations of iMovie are annoying me. So, please. Keep the app simple. But make it a bit more powerful.

This is driving me nuts!!! 🌰. It’s really good! I make Gacha Life shorts with it. But then today this kept happening non-stop. I made a remake of the Urusei Yatsura theme song, but with Gacha Life, and whenever I get to a certain point in the video, it just kicks me out! Ugh! So annoying!!! 😡😡😡. Can you please fix that? And also, I made a movie, it was 30 mins, (I know, short movie!) Anyway, some clips are deleted for no reason!!! It took me DAYS to finish that movie and edit it. I’m so angry!!! Please fix it! And one more thing! Whenever I finish a scene or something, it always takes me back to the start! Please fix it!!! Anyways, great app, thank you, and have a nice day/night! Sayonara!

LOVE IT. I’ve been using this app for over 10 years and I absolutely love it. Anybody who dislikes it hasn’t discovered it’s many features. You can trim any part of a clip and do as you will with it, flip/rotate, zoom, change filter, adjust sound, add music, add pictures, add text, adjust speed and add multiple clips side by side. I just updated the app and I’m hoping the new features include zoom in and out that’s not manual so the movie flows smoothly and to be able to add text to anywhere on the screen and not just the preset areas.

Handy but unreliable. I’m writing this review immediately after iMovie for iOS has just corrupted my 5 minute timeline for the third time. I had been attempting to prove to a friend that they could leave their Mac at home and produce basic travel videos on their phone. This now seems to be a fantasy, purely due to a few crippling bugs. The good: - Performance is great, even when editing 4K60 files. - It has most of the elementary features you’d expect to produce a competent home movie. The bad - Touch targets are infuriating small on iPhone (even on the X), particularly for trimming clips. Apple’s own Human Interface Guidelines seem to have been sidestepped here. The unforgivable - Crashes frequently with a complex timeline (60 clips). - Periodically mangles the timeline. Clip trim points are altered, dissolve transitions fade to black first, clips drift out of sync with voice-overs or other synchronised clips. - When (not if) timeline corruption does occur, there is no recourse. There is no save (which is the iOS way) but that means there is no revert either. If your timeline is corrupted, your choices appear to be: throw your phone across the room, swear, cry or rebuild your timeline from scratch. iMovie for iOS is good for demos and short videos, but if you’re expecting to make something you’d show to someone outside your family, it’s not ready yet.

Glitches make editing impossible. This app is so glitchy I can’t even edit one of my projects I already had to restart my project because this app was glitching so much every time I opened up the project the app just completely shuts off I am still trying to edit but this app is just so glitchy it is impossible to keep everything normal without this app just completely ruining the whole project just because I needed to delete a clip the whole app glitches out. Sometimes I watch over my project but the screen just freezes and never plays when I try to add sound the audio bar just overlaps on the video it happens all the TIME! Every time it happens I have to restart the app and it gets annoying. I know you’re not going to read this and you probably don’t even care but please fix these app-breaking glitches.

Great app with Problems. I really like this app although I think that there should be a settings option so you can make the pictures not move. If there is already one, I’m not aware of it, and a lot of other people don’t either. Please add this! I just want to say that the editing is amazing and that, but my saving has been glitchy. Sometimes it saves, sometimes it doesn’t. Also, most of the time the background noises make more sound than the edited in noises and my friends and I. Please fix that. I am nine years old, please excuse my grammar and spelling! Two more things. One, Can you make a thing where you can delete certain parts of the video, as if if you have your hand in the video, you can click a button and delete your hand, but everything else stays there. Two, Can you add a drawing tool where you click the button and pick a colour and brush then draw? Thank you!

BEST editing app but one suggestion.... ok so i LOVEE this app i use it to edit all my tumbling videos for instagram and its sooososososoo easy and it gives such a good product when finished editing and i definitely recommend to people. but i just have a suggestion; could you please add more transition effects because there aren’t many and most of them look the same :( so could you think about adding more different and unique transitions? such as: a twisting effect so like when you merge two photos/videos together they’ll like smoothly transition with a twist if that makes any sense? it will make the final product of the edit look so good.

Amazing but nervous!. I love iMovie buti am just updating it will it delete all my data like t did with another app??I don’t want to write a really long review, so I’ll just say this. Every time I try to watch one of my movies it says stuff like “videos are still uploading from iCloud” or something like that. Could you try making it so the app doesn’t do that or have all these glitches when I try to use it? Apart from that, though, it’s a really amazing and fun app so don’t remove it or whatever you do with apps that no one likes.

Satisfactory. Behind on the times.. I cannot think of any major changes to this app in the last several years. It works as a basic video editor, and it does that very well. Footage shot natively on your phone, easily made into a compilation clip, add some music, and easy export. However, for more technically minded people this may come across as too casual. The current iOS devices boast impressive hardware specs, sadly iMovie is an example of software holding them back. No support for PAL formats: 30p or 60p export only, regardless of if you shoot 25p or 50p. No metadata info: cannot examine bitrates and so on. Most frustratingly in my experience is editing the included music clips. No waveform support, and no way to select a specific portion of a song. Trimming a music clip will automatically defer to a shortened version of the clip - which means multiple seconds of silence if your timing isn’t exact. I hope future improvements and added features come soon.

Simple but can use some work. This is probably the simplest editing software on the iOS store and can be used to make pretty extraordinary clips. However, I have had issues where it would crash or audio will be a pain to move around. It can be a real hassle sometimes. Also, you are very restricted to what you can and cannot edit, such as; You can’t move text freely, can’t add animations to text, you have a limit on how short you can cut clips, key framing is a joke and so many more things. So if you are just using it for a bit, I would recommend it. But if you are looking for a long term program to edit lots of videos and want to put effort into them, avoid this app.

The Greatest Movie App EVER!!....or WAS!. “The current download requires 15.0 iOS??” Hey guys.........what’s going on?? Why won’t my completed movies save to my video files anymore? After hours spent on finishing a project, now I can’t save it. Have you guys gone out of business or what? Why won’t you reply to me when I need help?? So much for public relations! 😡 Now I’ll have to reduce my rating back to one star. You guys killed it for me now, disappointed me no end when I was on what was thought to be a great app. Now.......it’s one almighty cockup and a real fizzer. 😡😡

Not great. Apple usually brings great results but with IOS iMovie I think they have fallen short of their usual standards by a Mile. The tools are easy to use but limiting in what you can do, most of the time I either find my self swapping between a dozen apps to try make a movie or just using a computer. That said if you are looking just for a quick, easy edit iMovie should suffice. Also I have had multiple experiences of iMovie just giving up and crashing(it may have just been a dodgy or overlarge file though). Also trying to transfer anything into iMovie from another app is like trying throw a paper airplane through a fan(sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes it just gets thrown into goodness knows where). IOS iMovie is fundamentally flawed and unreliable and I highly recommend using a different app.

I LOVE THIS SOO MUCH. I have used this for years and years since I was like six or five and I loved it so much I made amazing movies and made so many memories the only thing I would say is that maybe they should add a few more features like colour to the text or stickers or emojis that would be pretty cool but otherwise I love Love love this app and I think is the best app to use it is so easy to edit I’ve tried other apps like film maker pro but it’s so hard to edit because there’s so many little things you need to do for one simple edit but with this app is so so much easier

Basic, yet soooo tedious!. I thought this app was decent, but I’ve grown older and i realise how tedious the software is. It attempts to excel in basic editing, but there’s too many problems and poor decisions put in this app that play against the user. This includes the fact that it sends you back to the start of the clip you want to shorten or lengthen, this causes me to take a blind guess on how long I have to lengthen the clip to fit for example, audio. Along with the default setting of Kens Burn on all clips and upon removing this, has the user to move the clip to fit the screen correctly for every single clip that doesn’t need Kens Burns. In reality, I could probably finish editing a basic presentation quicker on Da Vinci Resolve than this app, which is shocking when your app specialises in “Instantly creating Magic Movies”. All of these problems shine the brightest when I tried to edit a basic presentation, which soon turned into an infuriatingly tedious process that shouldn’t of taken more than 2 hours. All in all, you need to stop putting the app against the user, it really pushes away the user from the freedom of a editing software. Especially with me. Goodbye to IMovie

Compatibility problem. Dear Apple I used to really enjoy this app. It was great for making fun videos and was easy to use. I had it a few years ago on this IPad and then, because of low storage I deleted it. A year later I wanted to re-download it but couldn’t. My IPad Air 1 was too old! I was really annoyed because I used to be able to download it! I thought something must have changed in the app but nothing had because I used the app on my friends IPad. There was no difference to the old version! Why would you change the compatibility if nothing in the app changed? Please fix this problem and make IMovie compatible on my IPad Air 1! Lola, 😺😸😹😻😼😽🙀😿😾

I deleted the videos from my camera roll and they deleted on Imovie. At first it was really good, it was easy and fun to make, I made a bunch of nice fun videos with my family and we all loved them. then I went back to watch them (I had already permanently deleted the 50+ videos we used making 1) and the video footage deleted on imovie. now i’m not sure if I just don’t remember, but it didn’t even have a warning if I deleted those videos. now i’ll never get the videos I made back because I wanted to free up my data by deleting the videos. I mean come on, they took up so much room and we really loved those mini movies. Maybe don’t make it so that if we delete videos from our camera roll the entire movie gets deleted.

Pretty good. Hi I really like this app but there are two things I think need improvements so the first thing is that I like putting music into things that I animate and iMovie doesn’t let you do that and so I feel like it’s needed to be changed that you can put in your own music second of all I think that there are things about the files adding into most of the time it denies your file and then if it doesn’t very rarely it takes so long to load I don’t understand. Those are just my opinions but I think a lot of people will agree with me so please just taken mind those ideas and keep up the good work

Good app but…. I really like this app but there are some glitches when I edit a video. When I use fade for the sounds it uses the line that shows the film being projected on the top left screen to edit the fading and every time it messes my video and I can’t complete this. Please can you fix that? By the way I can’t use any question mark “?” Symbol for other purposes. And one more thing is that I screen record with the mic and when I check the video on iMovie my voice doesn’t show up so I have to re record my voice in the iMovie mic. So please fix all of them.

I’m Frustrated. 🤬. Omg I’ve been trying for hours to try and work out the basics! Googling and stuff and it’s soo complicated. I can’t figure out how to speed it up more than 2 seconds 😡. I am making Gachaverse videos and am trying to speed it up but I can’t find the speed button. I am on an iPhone 6s surely it’s not that different to a computer to work. Someone please help me I just reloaded it and am considering deleting it again. (Edit) ok I found the speed button But I can’t tap on it it’s all foggy??!?!?? I would also like to speed up the entire video but it’s tells me I can’t?!!?!? Omg I’m getting really angry please give me an answer and make it simpler for me I’ve read every artical on how to speed it up and NOTHING worked. So I would like some answers. Love but one thing. I totally recommend this app to everyone I love every single thing about it accept that u can’t find real songs albums and artists let me explain ok so first when you go onto the small plus in the top right hand corner a little tab sort of thing comes down then you look at the bottom of the tab press on audio and then you look at all the things audio includes like artists, albums, playlists etc. then say you tap on artists and type up Katy Perry does it come up with all her songs... no it comes up with nothing unless I just put in a K and it comes up with sound effects and tracks that have the letter K in them so please make iMovie so I can add real songs into it. Like and have some l great ideas. I love this app because I really want to be an actress director. To make this app better, I strongly recommend you make animation make movies. It might be lots of work but I believe you guys can do anything with that device of yours. Another thing I would like to recommend is maybe put in a notification on wether if you have google photos wether you would like to connect and loose your photos. I have one request!. So, this app is amazingly awesome because it’s very easy to use and stuff, but I have one request for the creators! Could you guys add a button or something that lets you make the slides I guess- faster? Because I always have trouble with that because sometimes I want to present and produce things quickly but I can’t. And I think we can all agree that most of the world is inpatient, like me. It’s very rare to find somebody with infinite patience. Anyways I would love to see that button I was talking about earlier on in the review appear and start to be recognised! Great app but I don’t like a few things about it!. It’s a great high quality app, but there’s only one thing that I don’t like about it; it’s only for Apple products. This is on my iPad but I can’t get it on my laptop because it’s not an Apple product it’s Toshiba. I also think it could have more transitions and let you use your whole picture, you can’t actually use the whole picture always. Other than that I love it. When you make a video and you delete the item from your photos it doesn’t come up in your video. Hope you understand what I said! Cause it’s really important. I always read the review of an app before I download it! BTW; it might be like that for me only!

i hate the new update (2.3). so i have been using imovie since i was like 12 and it’s my favorite editing app because of how easy it is to use. the layout and functions are clear and easy to use. however, i just updated my app to v. 2.3 and i hate it. i do like the new font functions HOWEVER there is a GLITCH. for example, i want to enter my text in the ‘standard’ theme but only enter it on the bottom line and leave the 2 top ones blank. i CANNOT do this!! everything i click edit and erase the ‘title text here’ it still shows up!!! and if i click delete, everything deletes. please fix this soon because this is what i mainly use to edit (to put subtitles on the bottom line). thank you!!

iMovie update #2!. Hi, I am a YouTuber and I have some feedback for you, I use this app for my channel as well, that is one reason i am writing this review on your app. Firstly: We could add some more affects into the picture or video. Like how the filter looks like. E.G. You could add in more filters like ‘Cartoon mode’ or ‘Diary of a wimpy kid mode’ or ‘Japan animated mode’. Some thing like those. Secondly: We could put in more of those stuff that go in between the video parts. Like: drawing the video and then it starts once it was drawn. Or maybe it does a pattern of the previous part of the video, and then it patterns up into the next video clip. Or maybe a hand pulls the next video clip in from the side and the previous video clip is pushed back. Thirdly: ‘BACKGROUND’ Background is the most wanted thing that I want in iMovie. And what u mean by that is: When you do a video you add it in and then when you press the video you can edit the background, the background could be: You can put a color you want it to be (like any color in the rainbow, or something) It could be emojis, it could be any photo or thing you take! Hard for gamers...... I love iMovie it’s a great app to edit your videos!,Although I record on my iPad for videos and I screen record with the new update apple has so I use my mic but when I start editing my videos the audio that I recording while I was playing a game just disappears which causes me to have to voice record it iMovie....this is kinda sad bcuz I have been using iMovie my whole life! And when you stated doing gaming I thought it would be a great way to edit but sadly it just doesn’t save my voice recordings I tried to fix it and put my volume to the top but it’s no use! So please try and fix this but anyways I really do love ya app!

Great app, although.... I do truly think this app works very well, although I have come across a problem where I can’t edit, watch or export my project, I still have all the videos for it and this has been going on for about a week now. I’ve also tried a few different things to stop this, but none of them are working. The video is over an hour long, but I do have lots of space left on my device. Is there anyway to fix this problem? I also have a suggestion. It’d be cool to have the option to move your text around the screen to specific spots, instead of being entitled to the low right and left, along with the centre, which also doesn’t even apply to all types of text. Although other than that, this app is very reliable and useful.

Great but still needs some work. Hi! I am new to this app and I think that it is a great app to edit my videos. It is a little bit glitchy when I split the clip because it goes to the start of the first clip, although I think that it is a great app to edit things and you have so many options to choose from. But I have read through some of the comments and I have seen that someone wrote “a draw button” and personally I think that it a great idea and that you should definitely add it. I also love the fact where you press a “help” button and it will put labels of what things are. This app is amazing but you guys could still do some things to improve. It’s good but I’m sad now. I used to use this all the time but now I can’t and it’s more of my fault. I used to use this a lot but it took up a lot of storage, including the documents and data. I decided I was going to delete it and get it back so that the documents and data don’t take up so much storage. When I deleted it, I had 800 megabytes of storage left. The app is only 600 megabytes so I tried downloading it again. It said I don’t have enough storage when I do. Also I need the IOS 14 update? It says I can download an older version but according to my iPad, I don’t have enough storage. It is great for editing but now I wish I had not deleted it. But I still recommend this for people that want to edit videos. It’s pretty good, just don’t delete it if you like it and you want to free up storage. But I hope I can download it again soon.

Why I like IMovie. I just love iMovie because it as an awesome app, and allows you to do tons of cool videos. These boys in my class (no names!) made an excellent movie called The Cowboy Dude, I was even in it as an Indian in the third movie. I generally love this app because it has a lot of options but I have a few problems 1. When using the provided music (neon playful etc) You have to have it in the start, So I can’t put it in part way through. Gosh that sounded confusing but I hope you know what I mean. 2. Sound issues if you had an option that could cut out any back ground noise that would be awesome Tip I read a few comments that was talking about the photos moving when you take a picture of something, do Ken Burns disabled that should fix it Cheers Myself

Some ideas for iMovie. Love the app and use it for my videos but could you please add these to help me out and possibly others the overlay: there is a outline over it which to me is annoying could you add a button with the ability to change the colour or turn it off Transparent: we have a picture that is transparent and when we use it, it loses it transparent, and when I use the overlays I sometimes use video that should be transparent it goes black so please make transparent videos possible Text: I love the text but it stays the hole time, maybe add the ability to move the text and add the ability to change how long it stays

iMovie reading. I have been an iMovie user forever and maybe my view is biased but I live this app. For Home movies, class assessments (my children could agree), and even just ways to edit videos is great. The only thing I would want to change is making it easier to understand. And not letting motionless pictures move so I have started taking still videos as my pictures (there is always a way around it). Thanks for creating this

Great, but have some problems. In my opinion, this app is quite problematic but quite useful as well. It has lot of great sound effects and songs etc. This wasn’t going to be the BEST video editor after all with all of these problems. Firstly, when you try to send the finished video to Overdrive, it does not work. Then, you struggled to deal with it. So it wasn’t really helpful. Secondly, the storage. I had this experience for a long time. When your storage is full, it pops up an note about that. You’ll have to go over your storage and clear out some. What makes it bad is that you have to wait for a few days. It was very annoying because when you come to the app to check what’s going on. It just pops up the same note. The progress was way too long. Finally, the titles. Other people likes to customise their titles, but you can’t. The good thing is, that you can control how it’s going to pop up. There wasn’t enough! Maybe for you, it might not be that bad. I would really hope to see some improvements here. I will only recommend you to use this app for a try because it won’t work out the best. If you want to edit some videos go look for other ones, such as: InShot, PicsArt and iCollage. Thanks for looking at my review.

Nice But Basic. Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone, iMovie is an app that allows you to create your very own movies. There isn’t anything extremely hard to figure out. You simply make your own movie. This app is simply just ‘decent’. The app layout is legible and understandable. You don’t need much instructions to figure out all the knacks of the app. However, iMovie has no special aspects in turn. Personally, I like iMovie the best for making cringy movies of my own. But, if you’re looking for something more pro, then I suggest looking somewhere else. ~ Silvia Wolf ~

Amazing. This app gives me good ideas for movies I am making. I am currently making a movie right now. Haven’t finish it yet. Still working on my script actually. For who is in the scene. I’ve used iMovie for trailers and and videos that I have previously used. My mum actually showed me how to use it. And my grandparent uses it. That’s why it makes it such a good app. Thanks for making a new things in iMovie. It would only allow some of the music I’ve downloaded. And Theme Music. Now it’s even better. Thank you very much. Amazing app. Hi I am a user of iMovie it is an amazing app because I can edit videos (that I just do to talk to myself) and not only that I actually figured out a way that can make me edit songs like I was gonna expect this to cost money for how good this is some times I like to use it just for fun to experiment it. Whoever created this is an amazing person like honestly. I am only 11 and I use this. It is so easy to understand it and I found a way how you can film a gaming video and screen record,show you face as well, obviously you would look beautiful 🥺😍🙃 anyways recommend this app if you are looking to film gaming videos and edit them and edit your videos make yourself look funny and also just for fun #Amazingapp

Fix some problems..... Hey apple at the moment im working on a 12 minute movie and have spent months on it but sometimes for no reason it glitches and all the videos and music scatter all over the place and i have to re-fix it so can you plz fix that glitch and sometimes it gets very laggy. I think i know how to fix the first thing i talked about. Dont press done when it happened just press the home button and exit it straight away thats what i did and it worked but anyway plz fix that. Also add more text fonts and not just a certain opening, ending and font to one text. Make different options plz ty. But keep the fonts like FOCUS and REVEAL but so i can choose the font.

The best!!. I’ve had this app forever and have always liked it. I didn’t use the music because there were about 5 songs to pick from. The new update, though, has SO MANY new songs and they are all so so good! This app is also great for editing precisely and adding filters to make your movie amazing. The new update has just made it so much better and easier to use. I usually use the ‘movie’ setting but trailer is great if you want to make a quick , fun clip without much work. Definitely a fantastic app for aspiring filmmakers and the best one out there. Great job, developers! I 100% would recommend! ☺️🤩🥰👏👏

Fun app but not perfect. This app is really fun especially when making trailers everything about the app is amazing but one thing. This problem is that in the movie section say your doing a school project and your recoding yourself and putting the videos into iMovie and you make a mistake while recording but you can’t be bothered to start from the beginning so you decide you will just put to videos into iMovie so it all seems great so far but you obviously don’t want the class to see that you make the mistake so you edit the transformation from one video to the other there are so many of them you’d think there’d be one that runs smooth that nobody notices the mistake well there isn’t which is a big bummer since the app is so great. But in conclusion you should definitely get the app but just be aware about this issue.

This app sucks. I do not recommend this app. If there were zero star option I would choose it. I was making a iMovie and it told me I couldn’t make one because I was out of storage, fine. But then I deleted some stuff to clear room and it let me in, also fine. The thing that made me mad was that when you add a photo or video to the app you can’t delete it from your camera. 😡😡😡 This happens to me and I deleted stuff like videos that were in the movie so I could make more. Such trash. I couldn’t get them back

Does everything right (except the things it doesn’t have). iMovie is a high quality movie maker for phones and iPads. It does all the simple stuff to perfection. It would be really nice to have a few more features that are common in many other software options. Somethings they could add are zooming effects in videos, multiple text layers and being able to speed up videos fast than just 2x. Overall very good app.

IT KEEPS GLITCHING!!!!. The app keeps glitching out randomly! I spent 1 hr working on a video and it just deleted half of my videos and photos I put in it! The recordings don’t match with the video like they should and the undo button doesn’t work! My photos that I insert in just glitch and either turn black or they will become smaller. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!

Good, but risky. This app is good at what it does, but there needs to be able to save clips, or they need to at least be more clear. I lost multiple weeks of work because this app didn’t save my clips, and i would like to avoid this happening again. Please make saving clips possible

complete and utter garbage. I would say that I have used Imovie for school projects a minimun of 6 times. And with all the experience I with Imovie, I have come to the conclusion that if you want to spend three hours making a 5 minute video, this is the right app for you. I have made a list of A FEW the problems that occur when making any form of video from Imovie - You cant fully zoom out of a picture when adding it to the video. Which means Imovie has a set screensize when adding a video or picture, it will cut off the top and sides of your picture to adjust it to the pre-set video size. There is no way to change this. - You cannot cut parts out of a video. Weither there was an unnecessary part in your video or you messed up part of the audio, there is no way to cut specific parts out of the middle. You have to trim videos from the edges or redo what ever you added (Audio or visual). - The effects are very limited. There is no way to have certain parts of the video zoom in or out, as i said before it is one set screensize. The fonts and special effects are rather poor and there isnt much to choose from. - Incredibly glitchy. I had audios delete themselves and pictures refuse to upload, which really only makes your experince with the app 1000% more frustrating than it already is. This isnt everything but this is certainly some of the problems that i run into most frequently. PLEASE BY GOD STAY AWAY FROM IMOVIE. Find a different editing app and save yourself the tears of rage from having to use Imovie.

Awful. I can’t make a movie that’s not bouncing all over the screen, when using multiple photos it automatically adds the burns effect, yes you can turn it off but have to for every single clip one at a time, after that the clips are not aligned with each other, so frustrating it’s a joke, I thought I’d give it a look but that’s all, no thanks

4 Stars Out Of 5 Ain't Bad. iMovie is mostly great, but there are a few things that would make it better: 1: Sometimes when I export a video, it removes some of the sounds and/or voice recordings. 2: You need to add a ton more sound effects. They were good for a little while but now they're lame. Here's a list of some sound effects you should add: Crash Sound Effects, More Different Comedy Whistle Sounds, Car Horn Sounds, Laugh Track Etc. 3: You should add voice effects. Stop Motion has voice effects. You should too! 4: Add an option to change the colour, lighting and shadows of your clips. 5: You should add more music. 6: You should be able to change the aspect ratio of your videos. I try to crop my clips all day and it never comes out right! (P.S., if you do add an aspect ratio option, cinema mode aspect ratio is a must!) 7: We gotta talk about those text options. Please add an option to stop the texts from getting bigger. Also, you need to change the fact that you can only add them to one clip. 8(Holy Crap, This Got Lengthy...):... I actually can't think of anything more to complain about (right now >:D) Improve these things, and I may give it 5 out of 5 stars... Until we meet again!:D

Not a great app worst app from Apple. Hi Apple, This app is way too basic for 2020. Major issues with this app include but not limited to: 1. You should be able to put music when ever you want in the video and not limit it to being snapped to the beginning. My work around involves adding blank sounds so I can add music when I want. 2. Need more controls with titles 3. Need to be able to add titles and control how long they are visible and not have to cut the shot in half to control time 4. Need more than 1 line of video and 1 line of audio. This does not include the audio from the videos directly or sound effects. 5. Need some additional effects like video and sounds. 6. Need a credit roll. Why do you limit movie making functions to trailers. Right now I have to make a trailer to get the scenesI want and the credit roll. This is incredibly frustrating. This app needs to showcase the power of the iPad like what you have done with pages, numbers, keynote and GarageBand. PLEASE MAKE THIS APP BETTER.

It’s good but CapCut is better…. Ok it is good but when I am editing it would not let me see the whole photo and when I go to see my old edits or clips that I love and worked so hard on it said that I needed to download my videos that where in my edit/clip like what? Why do you think I deleted them I deleted them so I can have more storage like ummmmm that’s dum and now my beautiful edits are gone! 💔😭😭😭😭the reason CapCuts better is it’s better quality cool realistic effects and it saves your edits even though you delete you photo/video in your photo library so I definitely recommend it and plus it’s free! 😁

Editing. I think they should ah e an update because I’m a Youtube hat edits with this app and I was wondering if they could take out the White box orotund the video when you put it in a Side thing.

Please avoid this app.. The app is fun and you can do pretty much anything you want with it, but if you want to make something with actual time and effort put into it, please for your own sake avoid this app. I made a series of six movies, and it took almost half a year to film and edit all of them. I had to restart two of the movies because they corrupted. I had to re-edit three movies because the audio was extremely delayed. And the app would crash often while I was editing. It has been a year since I made those six movies and I decided that I wanted to watch them again only to find out that multiple of the movies have had all of their clips rearranged. I thought it was silly how I used to get watery eyes whenever a big glitch happened, but I don’t blame myself. This app is extremely stressful to work with and a complete waste of time. Please avoid.

Messed up over 3 hours of work. I was making a film for youtube. I made it perfectly and I was very happy with what I made. The video was originally 7:40( 7min and 40sec). I finished it and showed it to friends. The video was perfectly fine. That very same day I went back to edit the video some more around 8 hours later but before I started to edit, I realized that the time changed to 7:59( a difference of 19 seconds). That was very strange as I didn’t make any changes to the video at all since I showed my friends. I went to watch it and I realized that the video and audio were totally unaligned. The audio, which was all detached so I could edit the audio, was the right length and speed. The audio said the speed was 1x. The video however was very slow and 19 seconds longer than the audio. It was falling behind the audio. I didn’t make any changes to the speed of the video as it was all in 1x, just like the audio. It was like the app just changed the entire video without me even getting involved. Now all my work I ruined and I can’t even upload the video.

WORST APP. it’s good BUT i stayed up all night editing this video for school and got ready to export it to hand it in. THIS APP IS SO TRASH because it wouldn’t revenge let me save the video. it was a 8 minute video and I had to keep editing the video to make it shorter for the app to export. TRASH!

Absolutely love this app. iMovie is my go to app when it comes to editing, filmaking and cinematography. 📹🎬📷🎞 However, I wish there were more options for fonts and transitions. If I were able to import my own downloaded fonts, that would be even better!

Cant upload to YouTube!. I used to be able to upload my videos to YouTube but no longer have that option. As a small business that uses YouTube this is highly frustrating. Please fix, or at least give us an alternative. It’s 2021! Not the Stone Age.

Who needs missing videos/music. I was editing this video and when I went to upload it to YouTube it says that I was missing some videos and music so then I looked at my library and guess what? They were there so I tried again after refreshing the app for about 5 minutes and it says I have missing videos and music can u remove this already in one of the unfortunate victims of this. If this doesn’t get removed I’m deleting the app

Audio Problems.. I have come to conclude that there is an audio problem in iMovie. Since the update there has been now a new feature called “ The Screen Recorder. “ this is incredibly helpful and I am glad they have added this, –but. When importing a recorded video using Screen recorder into iMovie my audio magically disappears! Thus I search in YouTube how to fix this problem. I was given a result using Splice. Splice is another editing app just like iMovie. I was instructed to import my video there then export it to my photo library. After that I import it into iMovie then the audio bug is fixed. BUT— there’s a catch. Splice has this bug where your screen has the black lines on the sides, when imported to iMovie makes the screen incredibly small. I am extremely upset that there is no way to fix both of these bugs for both apps! Please please please! Fix this in the next update. I look forward for your response.

Don’t recommend!!!. A mediocre app that gets the job done... UNTIL it crashes on you right when you’re about to finish up a 20 minute YouTube video that took THREE DAYS to finish!! The jokes on me though because I was dumb enough to try editing again but on an IPad this time because I thought maybe it could’ve been because of my IPhone but NO it crashed AGAIN.😤 At the end of the day it’s not a terrible app to start on if they get their crap together and fix that HUGE PROBLEM.

a few things you really need to fix (READ). it used to be really good, but lately it's been having trouble. i have an iphone 7 so i know it's not my phone. here's a few things you could fix: 1. let us crop it instead of having it always stay horizontal. i have vertical videos i put on there and it puts borders on the side and zooms straight in to the middle. if that's what you call a great editing app, i've seen better. i like lots of the features on imovie, but it's hard to use. 2. sometimes when i'm editing it just stops and doesn't let me change anything and moves the clips around where i dont want them. so i press done then edit it again and the video just goes black and i can't even play it. that's my main issue because i always have to keep starting over and it doesn't even let me save the video after it breaks. 3. maybe have the quality a little better? i press the highest quality when i'm done and it comes out much worse than before i even put it in imovie. please give thought to actually fixing it, because this app does have very good features, but it makes editing confusing and way harder than it needs to be.

App won’t open. Okay, I’m just going to say that I love this app and I use It ALL the time. But, last night the video was about 20 minutes long and the app got SUPER Slow. It took hours to edit something that shouldn’t have. I’ve never had this problem before so I don’t know what’s wrong. this morning I was working on the project And got out of the app temporarily and tried to get back on and it won’t allow me to get back on since! I was really looking forward to making the finishing touches and showing my family but now I cannot. I thought it may have something to do with a storage problem so I got rid of 13 Gigs of storage and it STILL won’t open! I’ve restarted the app countless times, and restarted my phone and yet it still won’t let me open the app. Aaahhhggg help!! This is the first time I’ve had issues with the app. And I don’t want to loose all the hard work I’ve put into this and many other videos as well. Please help

Create Movie Could be Improved. I use iMove and FCPX. I like the simplicity of iMovie and how many of its features are expanded and use the same keyboard shortcuts as in FCPX. There is one area that needs to be addressed in iMovie and that is the Create a Magic Movie feature. When I make a movie to tell a story I like to start at the beginning and go to the end as I think most of us would do. However, no matter in what order I choose my photos and videos the Magic Movie always wants to start with the most recent photo/video and go backwards in time to the oldest. There is no option to reverse the order. The only option is to move each and every one of the photo/videos to a new location in the time line. Why would the default be to go backwards? Please fix or add the option to rearrange or use the order in which they were chosen in creating the Magic Movie.

This is honestly my best editing app!. Hello, Apple! I want to start out by saying how incredible this app is! It’s by far my favorite app to use for editing and making funny skits for my friends and family! There’s no major bugs at all, but I do want to run over some things that would be helpful to me! 1. For some reason, my pea brain doesn’t know how to export music from my music library into the iMovie, and none of my friends know either. It would be very helpful if you guided me into using it the correct way! 2. Special effects are used in a lot of apps, where there are like- animated, say for example, sparkles- or seasonal things! If you know what I’m talking about, then it would be helpful if you added that as well! 3. Usually when I’m making a skit or something with Gacha Life (I cant use screen recording to fix this, it doesn’t work), the photos randomly change camera angles ALL THE TIME. If my stupid pea brain didn’t work this out already, I would love some guidance on how to size the photo the way I wan’t it, and it’s ok if you can’t! That’s basically all for this review, sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes. I’m usually good at that kind of stuff. And if any of this stuff was unnecessary, I’m very sorry. Impossible to edit with. iMovie is probably the worst editing app ever it randomly freezes for 10 seconds when ever I add a video and it crashes when I join a project plus when I go in to edit something it says some of these videos are being downloaded from I cloud so it will basically take all clips out so the whole movie is just black and it deletes all my progress also it will just stop playing my video it will just poise randomly when I look at my video and that would not happen with another editing .I have to send my piano teacher a recording of a song and now it says videos downloading from iCloud and it says it will show a progress indicator but it doesn’t so I don’t know how long it will take and it just basically deleted all my progress that’s why I’m switching to another editing app because it’s more reliable . This is probably the worst editing app I’ve ever used .

Great but needs help MUST SEE. This app is one of the best slide show creator apps in the AppStore. You can add videos from and photos from your iCloud, add music, to make a simple but outstanding presentation. But there is a MAJOR problem, is you exit your slideshow and don’t return for more than a day, a bug will show up. It says that all your photos and videos need to be downloaded and it take forever. I had that problem one tie me, and it a day and a half to download. I This is really upsetting considering that for all this app offers, problems like have to happen. If it has this problem, you can’t watch it in presentation mode, you can only access it in edit mode, and even there you can’t watch it because the videos and photos and downloading. So far, the only way I’ve found to fix it is to just do what it wants and wait but that is both time inefficient and not practical. Your better of just using things like google slides or adobe spark.

This app is becoming unusable. I’ve used this app to create many videos. But lately it is extremely laggy and glitchy. It won’t let me select clips to build a video initially so I have to sit there and hit the + symbol adding hundreds of clips one at at time. I bought a new phone and use it strictly to make videos and store data and even it is becoming unusable. I don’t understand how my phone decides what to send to the cloud and what not too. It’s obviously waiting for the data from the cloud. What’s the point of buying a 256g phone if I have to wait for data from the cloud. This app is becoming unusable and I’m going to have to invest in something else that actually functions to some degree. It won’t let you select several clips at once and move a whole section. I have to sit and drag every single clip and it’s again becoming unusable.

Good, but a few flaws.. So, overall, this app is pretty nice when it comes to editing. It’s not like one of those professional editing apps. It’s more amateur style, meaning not beginner, not professional. I just wish some things like the add button, were closer to all the other buttons because I get confused sometimes. I also wish there were more sounds than there are. My friend, he wanted to make a fighting film, but I couldn’t use anything as the hitting noise or the gunfire. I had to use the “Golf Hit” and the “Laser”. Next, the music. The music doesn’t have any popular songs. None of the songs have words. There are sections where you can find certain types of songs. For example, holiday. If you were to make a holiday iMovie. But, I have really wanted to make an iMovie with popular songs. Very good, but.... So I enjoy this app a lot, and I use it to edit a lot of my videos. There are some changes I would recommend, though. Firstly, please fix the bug that makes hidden photos and videos viewable in the video sidebar. Secondly, please add more trailer templates and text templates. It’s basically stayed the same over the years, and it’d be great to have some new text templates trailer templates. And lastly, please add more music, and sound effects. Currently, I’ve heard just about every stock music track on iMovie (mobile) so maybe you could add some music from the desktop version, or maybe even compose some more? Also, about the sound effects on iMovie, and it’d be great if you could add more, again, like the desktop version. Please take some of these ideas into consideration, but please don’t feel obliged to add in every single one. With all of these ideas, iMovie could be one of the BEST editing apps on mobile phones. Pretty Good. I enjoy iMovie a lot because I love making videos, just random videos. If you’re looking for something professional, iMovie is not for you. But something to make quick videos, this works. It has a decent amount of features, enough for me! Some people don’t like the lack of features but that’s only if you’re trying to make something advanced. I love how easy it is to use and I think that’s part of the reason I’ve never looked into a good video editor. This is easy to use even for dummies like me. The only thing that I hate is that once you delete scenes within your video from your camera roll, you can’t watch it. I understand that you wouldn’t be able to edit the video once the scenes are deleted, but it should be easy to just watch what we have. There are so many times I have videos that I can’t watch, in iMovie. Bummer. But other than that I recommend iMovie for beginner editors!!

I make a LOT of Gachas (this makes no sense if you don’t know what that is😂) and most of them about 30 minutes (more like ten...) so once I pass five minute, the rage kicks me in the face. I would just finish extending or ending a clip and then it would kick me out without a warning. This is really frustrating because it happens often. Really hope that is fixed☺️... °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° 2. Green screen discoloration So I would be adding a green screen to something, and there would be a color like black around the rims. You would think it would be fine, but then my whole thing turn a weird shade of, green...brown..gray? I really hope that it would stop happening. My problem is how limited the sound effects are. There is no heart beat, and the footsteps only walk on dirt. Why!. This app is really fun app you can combine videos you can make movies trailers it’s very cool. But one of the things I absolutely HATE about this app is that if you delete one of your movies or if you have one on there it goes to your photos it go to your picture library and I don’t have enough storage to be keeping all my videos that should’ve been on iMovie in my photo storage! So I was wondering if you delete or make a video in the next update you can make it not go to our picture library because it’s a waste of time and storage because the videos aren’t together they are separate videos, Which doesn’t make it very fun at all! Sorry if I’m yelling so much. I just don’t want a lot of pictures and videos that should’ve only stayed on this app instead of my photo library. Love It, Needs Additional Features. I love making videos in my iPad with iMovie. There are, however, constraints that prevent me from having the total control needed to make my projects just exactly perfect. To remedy the situation, the following features are requested… 1. Please add the ability to unmute the original audio while recording a voiceover. When adding my own words to a soundtrack, I don’t want to talk over others… 2. Please add timer displays for the playhead and the trim handles. It would provide greater control to accurately place clips within a project… 3. Please move the total length display. Current, it’s only visible by scrolling to the end of the project. It would be helpful to be able to see it at all times while making adjustments to clips within a project… 4. Please add a display for the length of each clip within a project… Adding these features would make me love iMovie even more…!

Would like to say I like it. I started out loving IMovie. It was great. I made some videos, trailers, then I started doing more complicated videos that takes weeks to do. Videos timed to music. And I can’t begin to explain what goes through your mind when something you’ve spent weeks on becomes garbage. The app glitches over and over. This has been a recurring issue over a few years, and has destroyed multiple videos for me, and my sister. I can see I’m not the first to write a review about constant glitches with audio moving by itself, clips lengthening and shortening on its own, and switching back when you try to fix it. This isn’t a new problem and it’s frustrating apple hasn’t fixed it, especially considering the amount of people complaining about it, and the lengthy amount of time this has been happening. You better fix it apple, because people will stop using this app they have to be paranoid their video is going to be ruined. The only solution we can work with is consistently saving the video, which takes a crap ton of space. Just a heads up apple😑

READ THIS. today I was editing a gotcha edit for a music video and in the middle of me making it it had a new update for every pic is small on the timeline and it takes me 100 tries to get it to the right links to match the music I tried reloading I tried deleting and re-downloading the app 1 million times I just want the old iMovie back I won hundred percent do not recommend this anymore, A couple minutes ago it was my favorite app to use now it is my least favorite please fix this, also I need a movie that took me forever to do and then I watched it and loved it! A couple days later I figured iMovie doesn't need my photos anymore so I deleted all the photos that it took a little bit later I wanted to show my friend when she was over, but a message popped up saying that I couldn't watch it because of the pictures missing that's the stupidest thing ever! I movie please get your stuff together!!! Sidenote, I love that you guys are always advancing your stuff with new updates, but it can get annoying. When I finally catch up and figure out how to work one update a new one comes in! Talk about inconvenience!!

Great place to start, but terrible to continue.. I’ll get straight to the point - the app does its job in acting as a post-production workstation, even on its mobile version. You can certainly make a nice film out of it if you try hard enough. Unfortunately, there is a severe lack of tools and a heavy amount of restriction that actually make it worth coming back to. Things like limiting the aspect ratio on photo (with the default setting to apply ken burns when usually it’s a filler method to make photos look good. There’s absolutely no need to add ken burns to EVERY photograph), limiting the amount of audio files attached to each slide to 4 per shot, limited amount of transitions, filters, and just a heavy restriction overall in terms of what movie we want to make over conventional work. Naturally, everyone has to start somewhere. But simply letting a workstation limit the amount that you can do for a movie is almost like mitigating wanting to make a good home movie at all. Feel free to use this. But if you’re a seasoned post-production editor, please consider the following before you use this.

Great app! But has a few problems. Now I love iMovie! It’s a great app with good quality products, but there are a few flaws I have a problem with the movie feature, the screen. Now I’m a gacha editor and the trailers are my favorite part of the app there fun to make and always look good but the movie features screen always zooms in and out and moves. So when you use other apps to make movies like gacha Club for example you don’t usually have sound or videos you usually take screenshots and add in text bubbles, please fix this problem and let users choose when you want to move the screen. I also wish we could create trailer types instead of use predetermined ones like use pictures or pre taken photos for backgrounds and choose a music form an iMovie selection with the same and extra music I hope you read my review please because I know you have a lot of them but please do so thank you.

Great, but more features need to be added.. This app is astonishing, Especially since it is free! But a couple more feature that I’m about to say will actually make the app better! 1. It would be better if you could move, or shrink the green screen video. This would actually be helpful for beginner youtubers/editors to have more subscribers, 2. If you could, make the ken burns effect able to work on the video, not just the picture. Meaning like if you’re moving your hand in a video, the ken burns effect can move along with the hand! 3. Make the text on the video able to move by your own liking! That would really help a lot, and also add text fonts, and text animations. But that’s basically all feature that I would love to see in IMovie, if you add the following features. That‘ll be the happiest update of my life. But besides that, the app is very awesome for beginners, also since it is very simple to understand and use!

IMPORTANT. All I want to do is create a simple music video that I can share my music with. So I try and put the album cover in the imovie before I add the music I made. I turn off ken burns, BUT IT STILL WON’T DISPLAY THE ENTIRE IMAGE. All I want to to is tho have the entire image be seen for the whole time while the music plays so that people can listen to it. But the entire image won’t display. I can move it around, but it will still only show a certain part. Why won’t it show the whole image? I am gonna have to switch to another editing app that will let me display the entire album cover while my music plays, and not just a certain part of it. Also, ken burns is a VERY bad feature. I don’t wan’t the image to slowly slowly move revealing parts of it. I want the entire image to be shown the entire time. It still doesn’t allow this when I turn the ken burns off. This is a simple thing that is NEEDED, and it highly disappoints me that I can’t do it.

Horrible in the past, but now starting to get back on track.. I’ve owned this app for about maybe 5 years now? Ever since I got my first iPad, I have fallen in love with this app and caught myself using it many, many times again. However, it did get frustrating editing videos eventually, as there were many unsolved bugs and glitches. I used to hate iMovie because of this. What’s even worse is that I can’t really disable features I don’t like such as videos and pictures you take automatically saves to your camera roll so it’s easier to accidentally delete something and ruin your video. These problems are being fixed as we speak, but even then, they still exist. I’ve learned to accept it. However, with that being said, there is one feature that definitely stands out to me from all the others. iCloud downloading. iCloud downloading is the bane of my existence. No matter how many times it downloads everything, it always comes back and wastes 10 minutes of your time when all you want to do is preview the video. It shows up EVERY TIME I try to watch/edit one of my videos. I don’t understand the point of this! All of the videos are successfully downloaded onto my camera roll! What’s even worse is that I cannot disable it in settings, iCloud, or any other branch of iMovie I could possibly get my hands on. It’s a fallacy that people would like this feature, I don’t even understand the point of it at all. Hoping for a developer’s response?

It’s ok, but could use some work.. I never ever write app reviews but today is different. Apple’s iMovie application is awesome I really thought that this app would be like every other (oversaturated) mobile video editor out there, so the app honestly sat on my Home Screen since iOS 12 came out just collecting dust. But when I decided to use the app for the first time I was surprised that it really was great, the awesome sync stock music, the great themes and titles, and ofc the amazing pip & cut screens are all great features but there was one thing on my mind. Why doesn’t this have this, why doesn’t it have that. The main thing I have against this is, no rotational settings, no custom options, and NO 4K SUPPORT! That’s the only thing I would complain about this app. But otherwise it’s an awesome app. Would def recommend to basic editors & people who don’t do heavy editing and stuff like that.

It’s a great app 🤘🤘. I love using this app, me and my friends love messing around and making little movies. The only problem with it personally is the music. They have some good music on there, but I wish there was more music then just “Pop, Sentimental, Theme, Action, and Playful”. Like maybe some creepier music would be great, (me and my friends try to make scary stuff) and maybe the green screen thing could work a little better. Idk if it’s just my phone, but the green screen effect lags like A LOT. And also I wish the trailer maker tool had more themes. 1, because that would be a rlly cool feeling if there’s a new update with that. 2, because it would be funner to make trailers when there’s more possibilities of how to make it. 3, because I feel like I always have to use the cheesy scary trailer when I make one. (Cuz remeber I make scary movies) But all in all, this app is awesome, and I would absolutely recommend this app for anybody who wants to make a story simply and efficiently! 🫡🫡

Aggravating. One day, my friends and I went to out film a movie. We spent about 2.5 hours on it and we were all very tired. When we finally sat down to watch it, it froze up and all we saw was black screen. I understood that it was taking up too much space, it’s an, iPod, not a tool Spielberg uses to film his movies. I deleted a bunch of useless videos I made when I started iMovie, that were actually longer than the 1-minute film we made. And when we tried to watch it again… (drumroll please🥁) it was still a black screen. Wow. Just yesterday, I deleted whole video games and still, I couldn’t watch it. It’s really aggravating ‘cause my friends and I worked really hard on it. I’ve made some 30 short films (and about half have gotten deleted) and this was one of the best. I hope you find a way to fix this, because I am pretty mad about it.

This app is good but pls fix this one annoying bug. Ok so I’ve been using this app for a long time, it is truly the best editor I can find. But this recent update has just ruined the app. The reason I say that is because when I’m trying to make a video now, I tap on a thing I want selected, it does nothing. Then even after every once in a blue moon it does let me select, when I want to add more clips to finish the video I tap the item I want selected and all it does is mark it with yellow. So I can’t make videos on this anymore can you please fix this bug? Also another bug is even if all that is done, I cannot select the quality of the video it just starts adding it to the camera role then if it’s a long video then precedes to say “Not enough space” when I have like 10+ gigabytes left on my phone. Fix these problems then it’s the best editing app.

Best App Ever!. I love this it really helps me make super cool videos I am not allowed to have social media so I love to use iMovie to help me make my own videos on here it’s great for green screen and you can split your screen you can even make the best reaction videos with the Picture in Picture buy this now it’s amazing you’ll love it just as much as I do But I have a few complaints Oh but there is one thing I don’t like that you have to save it to your photos because it takes up iCloud storage and you can run out of space on iMovie so you have to delete some of your movies that you already made so people you work with this app please make it so you can delete photos and vids from your photos without having to screen record the movies and please make it so you can make as many movies as you want without running out of space please and Thank you 😊

Why can I no longer save/export to photos?. I use this app several times a week to edit training videos. I have zero desire to go find my movies in a file or Dropbox or documents or notes etc. This is a HORRIBLE change! Bad move Apple, what were you thinking? No need to remove those export locations, but PLEASE bring back photo album as an export option. Until then I’ll have to try to find another app. It’s rediculous to edit a PHOTO/VIDEO but not be able to put your finished product back where it came from! Bring it back and get five stars, otherwise my 1⭐️ stands. Apple REALLY 🙄🤬🥲 UPDATE: Ok…my bad. In the “Share” option, there’s a “save to photo” option Evidently “export” is for taking your project to ANOTHER editing ap to finish it there. Maybe add the word SAVE to the SHARE description. The only thing more frustrating than being frustrating… is to feel incredibly STUPID

PLEASE FIX THIS. I’m not even kidding I was working for hours on Editing my yt vid and I was finally done. I usually watch the whole thing to check if I didn’t everything right. Tell me why every single overlay I took 5 minutes to do each was early. Everything got messed up. I have to redo it now. I was crying for like 20 minutes straight. I’m not even kidding I’m SO MAD. I took time out of studying so I could finish this video. Then iMovie glitches and puts every single over lay that I spent a long time to be perfect, earlier than it should have been. This is not the first time. I’m not gonna keep wasting my time to do a video then this ends up happening. Please fix this problem. Cause I can’t handle it anymore. It’s 5:00 am rn I started editing at 10:00 pm. And everything is messed up. I am so furious. And sad. And every single bad emotion. Hello I’m editing this. The same thing happens again. I finished the video again and the same thing happened. I’m literally about to lose my mind. And I can’t update it then all my progress on other projects will be lost

Requires IOS 13.0. I have been using iMovie for quite a while. But sadly it says you need IOS 13.0. Which I don’t have. So I would very much like for iMovie to change that. iMovie is very good with editing though. For vlogs, movies, trailers. All is good from that point of view. With the text it’s hard to keep it in one spot without going through the whole section your doing. Just realize that some apps have their imperfections but iMovie is a great app. Me and my close friends just finished making a movie and a movie trailer. I hope you like iMovie too. I sure do! I’m just hoping they let people with a lower IOS use iMovie again. I really loved iMovie till it wouldn’t let me use it anymore. Overall iMovie is great it just has a few little glitches and stuff like that. Which all apps do. So if your going to complain about iMovie than you have over a million other apps to complain about to. This app is one of the least apps you would complain about. I love iMovie! If your looking at reviews to get a recommendation you really should try iMovie. If you have a high enough IOS😂😂 But definitely and I mean definitely try out iMovie! It’s really fun just a warning!!

Great App, But... Hi there! I normally don’t write reviews, but I felt like I had to write a review for this app. This has been an amazing app for me because I love making the movies on this app. But, today when I tried to watch one of the movies that I made, I clicked the play button to watch it and it said “Downloading from iCloud”. I didn’t know what this meant, so I tried to see if this was a problem with all of the movies. Turns out, this was only a problem for the movies that I had made in the past. The most recent ones were fine and working when I clicked the play button, but all of them (including the ones that were working fine) said “Downloading from iCloud”. I still don’t know what this means, but if you have time, please respond to this review with tips, suggestions, etc. This has overall been an amazing app, except for this problem. Thank you very much! 😊

Keeps downloading videos. This app is awesome. You can make cool movies and trailers with your friends and stuff and that is fun. It is 100% amazing except for the fact that it takes up a ton of storage. When you make videos on it, it automatically saves on photos and then it takes up space on the device. It also makes it so sometimes you can’t even watch your movies or trailers because they’re “downloading videos” or whatever that means. Sometimes it takes a lot of time for them to download or sometimes never. My cousin has made a ton of potentially amazing movies but we can’t even watch them until they’re done downloading and some of his movies he made like five years ago and they’re still not done. Why? Please fix this problem. If you just fix this one thing it would be five hundred star review. Other than that it is a ton of fun doing sound effects and writing scripts for trailers and stuff. Thank you.

Pretty good. This is a really good app but it would be nicer if we could make longer videos because what’s the point if it’s supposed to be a movie, and it isn’t even an hour long? Like I feel like this app might need to be updated, just saying. Otherwise, it’s really fun. But the problem is that when you make a lot of videos and you don’t delete them, then it’ll say that your storage is full. Like that doesn’t really make sense to me. And it’s really expensive to buy storage. Also the trailers, the trailers I feel like are just silly. Because basically all you do is take a bunch of photos and videos and then when your done, you can’t really do much to edit which is disappointing. Maybe make some improvements for the trailers. Also the background changes are kinda boring when you use them a lot. So maybe it could be like a beach, a forest, or even a place to eat! That would be great if that happened.

Some changes should be made. I love this app! It has helped me through a lot of school projects and just having fun! I love making movie trailers bc they always turn out professional and really funny! I have been told I have a talent behind the camera, and I really want to keep that talent. Anyway, about the movie trailers, I would really like to see if you could create your own theme and music template. If that makes sense. Like for example, the scary template. I would like to make a scary movie trailer but I want to make my own soundtrack for it and maybe make it longer. I would like to be able to do that. I would also like to create a whole new theme. And possibly multiple. Another thing I would add, is for the text boxes. I would like to have the option of moving them around however I would like and to change the color and design of it. Those are only a few things I would change and add! I hope these changes do get made, tho!

Had some issues :/. I started out using iMovie for a class project, and because I discovered the trailer options, I began to use it for fun. I used videos of my friends to make funny movies of them because, why not? Eventually, I began to use iMovie on my MacAir, and that was when I realized what the app was missing. Since most of my videos were vertical, there was no way on the app for me to crop them to size and PLACEMENT of my choice. The app will take the vertical videos and fit them to a landscape layout, but it crops off the edges. When dealing with videos of people, this would mean that the template crops out their heads, and there is no way to adjust the videos so that I can reposition the window (on the app). Also, in the app’s trailer mode, I can’t seem to find a way to add a filter to individual clips like I can on the computer. Since I discovered all these missing features, the iMovie player on my computer is acting up, leaving it completely unusable. Now that I am forced to use the app, you can see how frustrated I am with the lack of options available. I highly recommend an update.

Former Friend. I have used and loved iMovie for 2 yrs now. This new upgrade has changed my progress and my patience. No matter what I add, move, change or attempt to do, it freezes. Cannot do anything but watch it spin. Cannot click edit, done, forward, pause. Nothing works. Happens repeatedly. The only solution to getting anything to work is to restart iPad each time for each task, each edit, each photo added, etc. Part 2: App closes in middle of my work when using the create new movie feature. If I add a new clip, resize or delete a clip, the screen progresses to the end and I have to go back and find my spot. Also, either the added clip or the one next to it will go black. I have to keep sliding or touching until shown again. The really big problems appear when using magic movie which always result in my having to shut down iPad to continue with any one task. Cycle repeats with every task. This problem was previously explained. FRUSTRATED. NO LONGER CAN USE APP.

Very glad I have this app. Alrighty, I LOVE this app so, so much!!! But...today while looking at all my glorious movies, more than half of my movies said that all the videos had been deleted! 😭😫 So I can’t play half of my movies!! I thought that if I deleted the videos on photos they would still be on the app, but I was wrong, so now all my movies have been erased!😩😣😔😭😢 Please change it so it doesn’t take up as much storage and just have the videos on the app, or at least tell people that if u delete something on photos, u delete it on the app too. So sorry this review had to be so negative, but just wanted to let people know. This app really is amazing. I have made some awesome movies on it and it’s a lot of fun.😁 I totally recommend it just hope that people don’t make the same mistake as I did so that their awesome movies don’t get erased!🤩😭

It’s keeps crashing. I’m trying to like this app but I can’t it’s so frustrating to edit on. Ever time I what to a put a song on my video it’s starts to the beginning and not where I want it to go. The app keeps crashing and I have to keep leaving the app and coming back. Sometimes it pausing out of nowhere and the music keeps playing. I don’t have time for this I just want edit my video and get it over. This is giving me a headache trying to figure what’s going on. My clips keep disappearing or the music sometimes it just moves to a different spot where I didn’t put it. I like KineMaster better even if it has a watermark it gets the job without frustrating I wanted to change my editing app because it had a watermark but now I really just want to go back to the app because it much easier to handle. Can you please fix this I have two videos to editing and it’s not going to get the job with these problems. Someone already address these problems it’s been a month and nothing happened yet.

Still missing something. Awesome movie maker I love all the features! When I got the app I was looking at a video to see how to use it than I went back on iMovie a few days later and tried to find the feature. I couldn’t find it even though it was on the video. I don’t know if there is an upgraded iMovie but didn’t see one on the App Store. After a little of research, I realized that I already had the most upgraded iMovie. This was another problem of mine, after I got the hang of iMovie I tried to go on the app and it said “download again and try again later” which I had know idea what it meant but I thought maybe I was running out of space? So I checked my storage and it totally had enough space. I kept trying over and over again but still nothing. So I don’t know about those two things but I hope you fix it. Again love the features

Would be great if deleting media was possible on the iPhone. Typically to delete media from iMovie library, you have to go into the iMovie media library and remove the clips from there. There is no way to do this with iOS 14 now. This works on the MacBook and iPad, but after the iOS 14 update on the iPhone, there is no way to do this on the phone. The only way for me to clear up that data on the iPhone is to do a complete uninstall and re-install of the app on my phone. Or transfer the media to iCloud, but that is another headache which should be optional. A lot of the clips that I want to delete from iMovie media are junk clips that I don’t even want on iCloud because I know that I am not going to use them again and want them gone. This is absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of time and space. Please, add a delete option for clips in the iMovie media library ON THE IPHONE, not just on the computers. Please! I absolute love iMovie, but simply clearing up my iMovie media library should not be impossible for the iPhone.

Great app! but some issues... I am a nice person who likes making weird movies 😂 I’m not a pro with this app, I am really funny with my movies though but sometimes, it’s GLITCHY and why when I make a movie it just shows the starting part of the movie in the theater maybe this is just because I’m a newbie or because it just does that. I want to not see the starting part of the movie in the theater, I want it to be the words like the trailers with a theme but I don’t know how to do that. Also when I want to add a song from the music app it’s DRM protected,Even when I’m not going to publish the movie I’m making! Just showing it to my friends for a laugh 😆 and I make cartoony character animations in my movies and I want some silly music to go with it,But I cant get it and the theme music doesn’t really go with it. So basically, I just don’t like the music problem and the glitches but besides that, This app is amazing!! 🤩 have a nice day or night or what ever time your reading this 😂

Great possibilities, major memory management flaws. Generally, it all works very well, but there are some issues that remain unresolved: 1) Memory usage, especially when exporting the final product. There seems to be a hidden memory cache that doesn’t get wiped as often as needed. I have often run into issues with the app telling me there is not enough memory to share the project, after it has already “processed” a significant chunk of it, even though Settings tells me I have over 200GB of device memory available. My remedy: (a) every time I start a new project, I delete all existing projects in the iMovie app, then delete the iMovie app itself, then reboot the iPad, then re-download the app, and then begin the project. (2) factory reset my iPad when that method fails (which is approximately every other month) 2) Audio/Video synchronization and waveform inconsistencies. Sometimes when editing clips, the audio waveform jumps ahead or behind, although the audio itself *sounds correct* while still editing. Sometimes, after the final export, certain clips have audio that is shifted ahead or behind the video by a significant margin.

I like it but there are some problems. I really like iMovie but whenever I try to watch A movie I made it says downloading video!! I get that you need to download the videos but then I have it months to download but it still says downloading!! I don’t understand why it doesn’t download! Another problem is that I wish that whenever we made a trailer there wasn’t music because whenever I put a video with dialogue in the trailer you don’t heat the speaking. But I also sometimes want to have music so I think it would be cool to be able to control how loud the music is and if it has music at all. One last thing I don’t even know what the theater thing is because I have never seen it! Either it doesn’t have anything on it for me or it just takes to long to load and I don’t have the patience to wait for it. I would try to fix that. Also I have an iPod touch if you want to know. I hope you add these to the app! SammyLFK

This is the best option of doing videos. I use this for videos and it works well it makes great things like moving the screen and you can make music and sound affects personally the sound affects it gets annoying once you click it a thousand times if you have a family like me I annoy them all the time and they would get really mad 😂 I love the affect where you can zoom in and it starts like that and when you have the music playing while the sound affects are going on although you can’t put any other music on either because they don’t have it or you can’t do it I just got the app so I’m clueless😐 I love the app so far! It is a very good app because you can add anything you want! But I only use it for videos and also if you want to make it black and white on one part but the whole thing turns black and white it’s an issue but I rated it 5 stars because it is a very good app!

Why I think it’s good. So I know you guys had some bad reviews, but it looks fine to me. I don’t know am I crazy? Are people over reacting? I don’t really make movies I just make trailers, I don’t know if there is something wrong with movies but everything seems fine with trailers. I mean overall it’s good. There was another app where everything there you needed to buy. I glad you can actually film in this one. Me and my friends love making trailers on this app. I hope it doesn’t get shut down. To be honest I don’t think anything is wrong with it. I just never make movies maybe someone makes movies and is really mad it’s broken. But you shouldn’t really care about audio anyways. At least they gave you music. You should enjoy the app. The only complaint I have is I’m on an iPad and I used iMovie on a computer once and the computer has more trailers? Is it a new update? Honestly I still love iMovie. Thank you.

Good for simple videos. If you are just making SIMPLE videos then this app is all you need. However, there are many technical issues or glitches when using. A big one is trying to put text over certain sections of clips, the interface for it does not work the way it should and more than half the time it defaults to the whole clip and there’s nothing you can do to fix it. Another issue I have with it, is you don’t have the option to create an intro or outro. What I’ve found is that you’ll have to use a third party app to create such a thing, save it to your camera roll, and then import it into iMovie if you so choose to continue using this app. I have used it for several videos, and it gets the job done for most, but it is very simplistic. So, my recommendation is that if you are looking to be a content creator, you will want to use better video editing software to really captivate your audience and give the presentation that will bring in and maintain viewers. This app is good for what it is though!

It was fine at the beginning. Ok, I’ll admit: I don’t really have much experience with this kind of stuff. But this app was SO easy to use. I figured it out, and I made my first trailer. (I never did any movies, just the trailers.) So, it already gives you a theme, the music, the number of clips etc. Which can be pretty annoying if you want to do your own stuff, but for a noob like me, i found this really helpful. The last one I did was my favorite one, it looked pretty cool if I do say so myself :). It was such a fun process I wanted to make more and more. So a few weeks passed, I was brainstorming some ideas for new trailers when I opened the app to look at what I’ve made. But when I clicked on one, it said the videos are downloading or something, that they weren’t there anymore. I was so confused and disappointed. I had worked so hard on them. I basically lost all motivation to do more trailers. I’m not sure what caused the problem.

Brilliant app to use!. This app is awesome to be honest cause it helps you know some technology skills for editing and this helps me a lot when I wanna do some gacha mini movies! But there is a problem though, So when I try to post the photo into the imovie, It just lags and glitches. I don’t mean to tell you that you should fix it. It could be the problem of my connection. I use this app for when I feel like doing a gacha movie. I chosen imovie to be a good editing app because (this is my opinion) you can add really cool music! My fav is O.P.E.N because some of these music don’t have the lyrics but for me, I like music with lyrics but sometimes I don’t but anyways, I also like the way there is beautiful effects so when you wanna be in a good photo you can use imovie to add in an effect! For the people reading this and disagreeing, This is MY opinion I don’t mean to give hate for the developer that did not remove the lag or certain types of problem! It could probably be my connection.

I love iMovie, I hate iMovie. APPLE PLEASE LISTEN TO ME For the past 3 years, I have been creating movies using the beautifully simple and somewhat intuitive iMovie app on iPhone, that once I learned how to use, opened and closed so many doors. On one hand, my editing skills got better, my creativity got better, and I could pull out shots from videos using iMovie that I wouldn’t have been able to use otherwise. Now on the other hand, the glitches. They have destroyed countless videos of mine due to the obvious stick-and-glue creation of the app and the complete lack of thought put into it. I swear any time nowadays I try to make a video, it crashes and all my music and audio is moved over a couple seconds and there goes my video. I edited a feature length long vlog that took me 2 months to edit because after a while of editing the various transitions between clips would be erased and replaced with what made it seem like a painful blink between clips. I have had it while I’m exporting the video to my camera roll, some of the audio is just taken out. APPLE I will gladly show you all of the videos I have with your various glitches. Please just FIX IMOVIE!!

Very useful, but one major issue. I love iMovie. I have been using it to edit my videos, music videos, and school projects for many years. However, to this day there is still a major issue that has yet to be fixed. When I position the playhead at any point of the clip, whether it’s the midpoint or the end of the clip (with the intent to, say, adjust the length of the clip or split the clip), the playhead always jumps back to the beginning of the clip. This is especially problematic with longer clips, as the clips can’t be adjusted from the end with this bug. On a more positive note, the latest update is absolutely fantastic! For so long the available text and title options were unprofessional-looking (and there weren’t very many to choose from) but now, you can change the text font, you can change color of the text, and you can even freely position and resize the text by simply dragging and pinching! It’s great, and I hope the aforementioned bug gets fixed soon.

Good editing app!!. This app is good for editing and I highly recommend it if you enjoy making videos There’s just some things I wish it had, and it could improve it dramatically. The option to freeze music: I enjoy making music sync videos, but it’s hard to when I can’t freeze the music, so I might do something that could cause me to have to re-edit the entire thing, which can be a pain. Be able to move text around: If this was added I wouldn’t have a use for CuteCut because that’s all I use CC for, is to have moveable text. Custom zooming: With this, you could slowly zoom in and out in the video depending on how long the zoom duration lasts. And to go along with that, being able to cut smaller sections of video (and to have to option to turn off auto snapping in the video, what I mean by that is when you’re in the middle of a transition, like actually IN BETWEEN 2 clips, it moves over to which ever one the play head is closest to, that’s what I mean) because it gets annoying to have to cut areas of a video, than extend it back again because I can’t cut a certain section, or the playhead just automatically moves over There’s some problems I’ve encountered 1: When I’m done editing a video, there will be an audio delay where there wasn’t before in the raw video 2. Sometimes, the entire thing will refuse the keep playing, OR let me edit. The app will crash when I try to on said videos.

not downloading!. so basically i’ve had imovie as long as i’ve had my new phone, which is like a year and a half. at one point in like October ‘18, i ran out of storage so i deleted imovie. i didn’t rly care tho bc i wasn’t going to do anything with the videos and they were rly bad. about a month later, i decided to reinstall it just bc i wanted to make a quick video for my sisters bday. it installed and i was able to make a rly cool video for her. i later deleted it. now it’s May ‘19 and i want to reinstall it. ITS NOT DOWNLOADING! i have enough storage and everything! i’m connected to WIFI so it SHOULD download! idk what wrong w the app but it’s so annoying! it will say “Waiting...” for like 20 mins before i decide to tap on it to see if that does anything. it says “Loading...” and it installs A CRACK! then it literally stays like that forever! i decided to let it go over night, and when i woke not too long ago, IT HAD DISAPPEARED! not only did it not install any more AT ALL, but it had DELETED ITSELF. this makes me so angry bc i literally just want to make a video, and it not even installing! it’s never had problems like this b4. Apple, pls fix this!
