University Sign-in issue. Same issue as a previous review per stated. It suddenly started requiring “University sign in” on my iPad Pro. After calling their tech support, which was a lady working from home, she took a couple hours to say she didn’t know what to do. She kept blaming it on my iPad. Yet, every other app I’ve ever used still works fine. As suggested by the Developer on the other review, I’ve cleared the cache on both Safari and Firefox, switched my default browsers, uninstalled and re-installed the app many times- still same issue. This has been many months now, so it seems it is not a priority to get this fixed. So frustrating.

Still subpar to Directv. This app has definitely improved from a year ago but I am still left disappointed that you can’t access your recorded shows. This is the main reason that I cannot wait to switch back to Directv because their app allows you to not only watch shows from the app but be able to search for your favorite shows and record them from the app itself. It also allows you to download all your recordings onto the app to watch when you’re not connected to WiFi. In regards to this, the Cox app just does not compare and as someone that is always on the go, the mobile app is a deal breaker for me. If Directv is capable to have all those features, there’s no reason Cox can’t make the effort to do the same.

Not mad, just disappointed. I saw this app on social media and was like wow this is so cool! But just remembered it now. Downloaded the app signed in and... what the heck. First I was excited searched family guy there wasn’t many episodes. Then I was like okay let’s see about Kitchen Nightmares, not a single episode. Then I see in the related bar Hells Kitchen and I got some hope. Pressed it again. No episodes. I don’t like the app mainly for the lack of episodes. I will be uninstalling. Btw this wasn’t meant to be taken as offensive in any way, shape, or form it’s just my honest review.

Trash App. Cox needs to do better especially for the money people pay to have their services. Why have an to stream on the go and you can’t even watch anything unless you’re at home on your wifi?!? Where do they do that at?!? The whole point of on the go streaming is bc you are not home…duh! And when home you’d think people will be utilizing their COX services on their TV instead of using the app on their phone, laptop, or tablets….it could just be me but that’s my take on this useless streaming app for a service you already pay for. You’d have to download every single network app separately just to see if your service credentials will allow access….probably not so ….next please Cox is only good while at home.

Good and bad. The app is really good and has got through so much amazing updates but I dislike how I can view tv channels for shows or live events I purchased for example I purchased the jake Paul vs Ben askren fight but no matter what I did I couldn’t access the channel through the app so instead of watching it in my bedroom I had to go to a different room with a cable box in it but other than that it has definitely gotten way better

Nothing surprising from Cox at all.... Just like everything Cox provides, this is a terrible, unreliable, scummy service. I downloaded this app because my dad passed away recently so I went to visit my stepmom out of state. Back home, I have the NHL package purchased ($40 for 5 out of market games in the season to avoid ridiculous blackouts) so I was really hoping to watch a game that was scheduled since it was only going to be an ESPN blackout game. Im thinking perfect, this is why i paid $40 for those few games, in case of a situation like this. Of course i log in and everything seems good. I go to see the hockey channel, and it says i need to be connected to my home network to watch...... if I am at home and have full access my TV, why on earth would I want to be watching on my iPhone. so just another useless and scummy "feature" from Cox

Lousy Software.... STILL. Update 22 April..... Well you guys dropped another “update” last week. Figured I would give it a bit and see if “quality” was anywhere in the neighborhood. Nope. Still big lags in performance on a top of the line iPad. Perhaps the programmers could learn to pump gas for a living? Doctors practiced the way you program and cemeteries would fill. Cox: Later this year you are getting a competitor in my area and I will no longer be stuck with you as my only choice for TV/Cable. Up your game if you want to have a shot at my business. —————————————————————————- Update 17 February, 2019: Your “upgrade” 3 days ago was a bust, as usual. Uninstalling and reinstalling (1 week old iPad Pro with lots of memory— no hardware excuse available to Cox). ——————————- Response to my current review is a Cox cut and paste from last March! You guys are sloppy. HomePod is not the same as AirPod. 1. Still mistakenly prevents me from access when on my home wifi (and no VPN). Did everything including reboot multiple times. 2. Still denies the ability to play the audio through a HomePod speaker. Adjustments to the interface with the last “update” make the user experience worse. Please take more pride in your design and coding. Why not just drop Cox? Cox has a monopoly in my area, so I am stuck with you.

Cox Contour App. This app is still sub par, it does not allow viewing of certain programs, the excuse is you need to be connected to your in home wifi. Well that is false, I am still not able to view certain programs even when I am connected to my in home wifi. I called customer support and I was told because of issues with that app, I would need to delete the app and reinstall. Well that did not work. This has been going on for years, and the response is the same, we are working on fixing these issues”. The app also does not allow me to download any shows for viewing off wifi, very disappointing for the money Cox charges. Direct TV is still a better option, Cox is years away from competing. VERY DISAPPOINTED long time customer☹️

Worst paid cable app. Recent update make using the app even more frustrating. The video player gets stuck under the app when searching for other content to watch. If you change channels and the video player gets stuck under the app, you will hear both channels playing at the same time, but no video. You have to reboot the app to fix and you end up missing part of the program you were watching. All network stations have duplicate channels. I can’t wait till my contract with Cox cable ends. I am definitely going to choose a different cable/satellite provider.

Recent channels not accurate. Not sure where they are pulling the data to display recently watched channels but it’s not from channels I watch. Sometimes it shows channels that are not even in the same language! I remember this working correctly in earlier versions but now it’s completely useless. There is also no way to provide feedback from within the App to report problems. There is a Help section which just allows you to call, chat, or go to their social media accounts. It needs to allow submissions of bug reports and suggestions.

Issues. I’m always having issues with the to go channels no matter how strong my signal is, specifically Fox News, weird how that’s the only channel that’s always messing up, every other channel works perfectly fine. PS I just updated this review because I forgot that I even wrote one, so when I tried to write one this one came up, anyways here we are months later and I’m still having issues with that particular channel, so…… could we get some answers please, anything, a little crumb, maybe try to figure it out and help us customers that are paying hundreds of dollars or am I doing something wrong, let’s try to figure it out that’s all I’m asking ugh!

At Home Sign-In Issue. I am trying to watch local channels and the app keeps telling me that I cannot watch them because I am not at home even though I am sitting in my office about 6 feet from the Cox cable modem and my router. yes, I am connected to my own network! I contacted Cox and performed all of the typical Cox recommendations: reboot the cable modem, reboot the router, restart y iPad, and uninstall and reinstall the app. Oh, I don’t want to forget clearing the browser cache! I told them that I had done all these things before I bothered to call them but they insisted that I do it again. After about 45 minutes I was transferred to a higher level trouble shooter and spent another 45 minutes making no progress. I was then told they would have to create a ticket and forward it to a special department that handles app problems. That department was supposed to contact me when they solved the problem. It has been a month and guess what? I have not heard one thing and my problem has not been solved.

So the point of the app is???. So I moved from California where we had Xfinity and thought Cox was something similar but NOT so I travel a lot and thought umm why not download my cable providers app and catch up on tv. Well low and behold the app is so useless!!! What’s the point if I can NOT ACCESS MY RECORDINGS OR ANYTHING ELSE OF MY CHOOSING WHILE “OUTSIDE HOME WIFI!!! If I was IN MY HOME then I’m using the cable and WiFi no need to watch in ANY DEVICES!!! But if I’m AWAY FROM HOME I SHOULD BE ABLE TO WATCH WHATEVER WHENEVER!!! Cox only has “limited “ movies and tv “outside home WiFi” which is a complete rip off and highly disappointing WORSE CABLE AND APP EVER!!!

Not working anymore. This app used to work perfectly. Now when I try to watch a show, it says my app is out of date. App store says there are no updates available to me. (iPad) So, I uninstall the app and try to download again. This time it states "This version of Cox Contour is not compatible with this device. Do you want to download the last compatible version?" It is my only option, so I download. Then try to watch a show,... says I can't because my app is out of date. What did Cox change on the last update?? According to Cox website, the ONLY requirement for Apple is "iOS 10.3 or higher". Well I have 10.3.3.

Find Another Company. The app itself works fine but the WiFi is not what it supposed to be. They forced me from 30mbps to a 50mbps plan because the Cox rep said that 30 was phased out, costing more per month but I couldn’t see the difference. Lately when I want to just watch TV on my phone, it buffers BIG TIME. The Cox rep said my signal looked fine and that was AFTER rebooting the modem, router, restart and network reset on a iPhone 11 Pro. The iPhone is the ONLY device on the WiFi. Still buffers every 30 seconds without fail. On the other hand, Cox sure likes to remind and email me 10 days ahead every time the bill is due, AND every time I negotiate a new 12 month plan, my plan keeps expiring in 3 or 4 months… I keep notes and dates in my phone as to such. To top it all off, the rep starts getting pushy about upgrading the plan. Why would I pay more per month for the sloth speed service in a prettier wrapper ? Not be able to watch on iPad. Lately all I get from the site when I’m try’s mg watch on my iPad at home is browse to go tv. It won’t let me watch my regular stations like I’ve been used to. This is truly a shame because you guys have been doing great up till now. I pay a bill that’s already too high so the least I should be able to do is watch on my iPad when I move to another room without a tv. My internet is working great so please don't say I should check it and I’ve also turned off the iPad and I’ve deleted and put the app back on. So I definitely need another solution.....

Customer for 42 years!!!!i stay because they the lesser of the two evils... Cox lies and lies and lies and lies!!! You can talk to 10 different so call representatives with the same question and get 10 different answers...Called loyalty department to get help to lower my bill. Hahaha what a joke. Katrina lowed my bill alright by taking my stations away and left me with limited basic. (Keep in mind I didn’t have any premium stations), and also canceled my cox complete care. The best part is she didn’t tell in order to lower the bill she would cancel all of the above. Getting very close to going with another company!!!

Works fine for me. I downloaded this app after I switched my AT&T cell phone plan to elite unlimited so I can to watch my favorite shows from my phone when I’m away from home. There’s been very little buffering and overall I don’t have any complaints about this app. It works for me just fine but based on other reviews my expectations were pretty low.

Worked fine but not now. It was working fine inside my home wifi and outside my home network. I was able to watch my shows on the road and even while I was traveling international. Now it is not. Even in my cox home network it ask me to enable my privacy location ( hello I am home in my home wifi). When I am traveling also it asks me for my location and if I am traveling outside the US, it says that I cant use it. I am starting to wonder why all of sudden you need to know my location by enabling the gps? That is private. I dont like it and I must likely will change cox to something else

One of the worst apps ever!. The title says it all. Truly one of the worst apps ever. I use cox for almost everything…I have to.. they have a monopoly where I live… thankfully their cable, Wi-Fi & phone services are a little more reliable. This app rarely works completely and when it does, it’s not great. How can they not fix this after this long? Please fix this cox. PS. I just tried to use an older iPad because my newer one is dead...I can’t use the app because it’s not updated. I can’t update because the iPad is old. Another reason to dislike this app greatly.

Luv this app. So convenient always able to play all my favorite shows and movies with no problem. App works with no problems at all and everything I get through Cox on my TV is available through this app. If I’m away from home some shows aren’t available, but you can filter and find shows away from home which is great too. I was surprised that so many networks are available outside of my home! Cox is awesome and I love this company! Best growing company in the U.S.

Waste of Money. On my “high speed” Cox home WiFi this app streams horribly. Most shows are only available if you are using your at home WiFi, definitely not “on the go”. The shows if you can get them to load have more ads than they would on the normal television and you can’t cast to your tv. Cox touts the contour app as it’s best feature but if you want to really watch your tv through cox you are forced to buy a box. This tv provider is a profound waste of money. I only recommend this if you are rich and retired and this is the only tv provider in your area. Even then I would implore you to invest in bunny ears for local news and a Netflix account. At least those services are usually reliable.

Wants a “University” Sign in! Will not work. I have used this app for the past several years with no issue. Over a month ago, it all the sudden asked me to sign in using a “university” login… I have contacted COX Tech Support, and after someone “worked” with me via an online chat for over 3 hours, they gave up and said they had no idea what was wrong on how to fix it. She was going to start a trouble ticket and get back with me…that was over a month ago!!! Still nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and it still asks for the same thing. I have been on the COX forums and have seen others with the same issue…but no resolution or acknowledgement by Cox of a problem. They have no problem collecting my money every month…but seem slow to assist when they’re service doesn’t work. I see a lot of folks leaving Cox when Verizon FIOS becomes available in my neighborhood. Competition is a good thing, something Cox hasn’t experienced in this area before.

Rob. The app used to work fine. In the last couple of weeks, after the 5.9.0 update, sound plays for a few seconds and then goes away. Several minutes later the sound comes back and goes away again. I had this app open while I was working at my computer and the sound went in and out every few minutes for 2hrs. I finally switched to a different and listened to music. The app doesn’t remember the channels I watch anymore. I have 2 channels that I watch on a regular basis. When I launch the app neither channel is in the recent channels list. The list is full of HBO channels and local channels I haven’t watched.

Not so much a review. With all the problems, not only with Contour, but overall I can only say when the ‘exclusive’ nature COX has on the consumer is replaced or gone COXis going to see a large number of people migrating away from the company. We came from another state and had XFINITY and other service providers and COX even though electronically and programming wise being ver similar leaves COX lagging behind overall in many ways. We for one are planning a change as soon as our contract is up. COX’s attitude, knowing they have a hold on you, and not budging a bit on programming and forcing features not needed but by us not wanted and other conditions just leaves us very frustrated. Company policy can be changed to give good customer service and keep their customers. The quality of this so called service doesn’t come close to their cousin XFINITY or many of the other providers we have subscribed to before moving to Arizona. Looking into the exclusive nature and how they maintain that exclusiveness is my next research project..

Awful On Demand App. Worst on demand app I’ve used. Cannot escape commercial cues. 6 people over to watch a movie. 1:30 into the movie. Bathroom break. Restart; app takes playback to 30 minute commercial cue. Try to get back to 1:30, can’t escape the 30 minute commercials. 5 times. We all know more about a WWE female restore and a bone density drop than we ever wanted to know. Let the movie play past the 30 minute commercial cue, try to get to 1:30, the app takes you back to the commercials. 6 people here now hate Contour app and Cox. Found something else on Netflix.

So far, so good. I just signed up month-to-month with Cox after having Spectrum for the last two years. I like this option of only paying $10 extra to not be tied into a contract. Spectrum was way too expensive paying almost 220 a month after one year of service. I decided to go with Cox because everyone in the area has this company. I am still waiting for my equipment that I ordered two days ago so I might be writing this review a little early, but I already have access to their Contour app to watch tv. I was hesitant to sign up with Cox, but so far being able to access cable on their app with no issues is a plus in my book. I hope I feel this way after using their services for a few months.

Cox suckers. My vintage iPad Air has worked well for years for utility purposes around my house, primarily to watch TV on Contour... like in the bath etc. Nothing wrong with the app... it worked great, wasn’t broke, and didn’t need fixing. I was able to watch TV on the move. Then Cox moronically created an updated Contour app that requires an upgrade to IOS 13.0, and of course Apple would rather have me spend $800 to upgrade to new iPad, rather than make the IOS version compatible with one of their “older but working products”... just so I can sit on the toilet, watch TV, and take a dump at the same time. F-you Cox... I’ve suffered with you insufferable antics for years now, and this is a typical example!

Another Cox scam. Absolutely disgusting job you did with app. Calls for ios13 or newer. My iPhone 6 states I’m updated with the latest be 12 something. This appears to be just another way to scam the consumer out of services Cox sent back a response that the problem is with Apple. The real problem is with Cox. Cox did not need to get rid of previous IOS systems and only support Ios13 or newer. I don’t need to go out and spend $1000 or more to be compatible with Cox. What I see is that Cox did not provide services they promised I could rely on when traveling. You owe me a refund for services not rendered. It’s also funny that the link for app support does work or my review doesn’t show up.

Was loving it, but now I’m just annoyed. When I first downloaded this app it was great! I used it all the time on my phone! But now, every time I find something I want to watch and click watch, an error message comes up and simply says “Something went wrong: We’re sorry, something unexpected just happened. Please try again.” No matter how many times I try, it does not work. I have tried deleting the app and installing it again, signing in and out, turning on and off my phone, etc. Not sure what happened but it is highly disappointing.

Will not let me log in. Bad App!. After working for years, it stopped allowing me to watch football even though I was home and on my Wi-Fi network. The app said I needed to be on my home Wi-Fi. I tried several things to get it to work including logging out. Now, it will not allow me to login saying after pushing “Get Started” it gives me a message saying “Access Denied Error 15” message. I have even reloaded the app. This needs to be fixed. I pay a lot to Cox for their service and now other providers are looking more appealing!

Great app. Don't listen to bad reviews.. I have had a great experience with this app and have had it since April. I have been able to watch all of the shows/movies at any time even if they have already aired. Do not listen to the bad reviews as the are old and many of the problems they have been talking about are old and have had a solution.

Sleep timer. Could you please fix the app so it turns off with the timer? It only shuts it off for about 5 seconds then it comes back on. It used to work. Thanks This is a response to”which timer are you referring to”. I’m referring to the timer function of the native clock app on my iPhone 6 Plus. There is a setting labeled “when timer ends stop playing”. The contour app used to shut down when this was enabled. It now shuts off, the lock screen enables, and after 7 seconds the sound resumes. In contour settings, “Allow background audio” is disabled. I have uninstalled and re-installed the contour app several times, with phone restarts in between. Hope you can help.

Worst app ever. Ridiculous! In October 2018 Contour went to a different update so my Ipad-which was in perfect working order-could no longer update to the newest version. I had to go buy a new Ipad for $400 just so I could use the app. I only watch tv on my Ipad. So now, the three channels I do watch, that I pay A LOT of money each month just to have, no longer support volume to the channels and Cox has no idea why. I watch Hallmark and HGTV. Cox is THE WORST tv company out there! Stone age quality for an expensive price. We had Xfinity in an another state for 20 years with no issue. We move to AZ 4 years ago and it has all been a headache!

Been there done that. Too bad Cox just keeps getting more expensive without doing anything for their clients... have been with them 25 years & am on social security now but my bill just keeps going up! Have been thinking of switching to save $. Don’t they get it? They don’t have to chase me down for payment but want to increase my bill every year with me not changing anything!! Am thinking about streaming through Apple or other companies....

So far really enjoying it. I’ve been using it while traveling and it’s been great. I use it on WiFi with an iPad and cellular data on an iphone. So, I haven’t seen the problems others say they have using it on a non-Cox internet connection while traveling away from home (I’m using it on both ATT WiFi and Xfinity Comcast WiFi). My cellular data is on T-Mobile. Of course at home it’s on a Cox Contour router. I’ve been watching a standard cable channel BET currently (not the BET app, which didn’t work or let me find the show I wanted to see).

Nice app but need a lot of work. I would like to see the tool bar edit back that displays the time Internet connections etc. Please add this back. It would also be nice if this app worked outside of the home network. It is ridiculous to have this on your mobile phone when you cannot use it when you are mobile. Also, I am legally blind and use voiceover on my phone and have turned on the function that is supposed to I don’t know what happened to this app. When I try to look at my TV shows, I get a error message and I had to close the app and restart it only to get the same error message again. Please fix this problem.

Absolutely Terrible. I NEVER write reviews because I’m very laid back and understanding. However, this app provides a terrible user experience and the developers just don’t care. Given that many of us are spending money on Cox service, it’s hard to accept the ridiculous challenges from this app. I’ve constantly had to log in and out to be able to see specific shows. When I try to watch a show that I know is available (because I’ve checked the On-Demand option via my TV), the episode is greyed out without any option to press play. This continues for weeks unless I log out and back in. Now, when I enter the tv show title in the search bar, nothing even pops up. Literally nothing. I’m pretty much always on the go because of my job and lifestyle... so being able to connect on my phone and smart devices is important to me. It’s frustrating that a company of this stature has consistent issues with this. Do yourself a favor...don’t download this app...also, consider something else besides Cox. I just can’t do it anymore. You’ll regret it.

It does the job ☺️✨but I was wonderrrinnngg.... I like that it has the favorites section (: because on contour box there isn’t a toggle switch for the shows that am able to watch with my package vs all channels regardless if that are in my package plan or not lol . I wish you could set reminders for when a certain movie or series or episode I’d like to watch (: Every other app makes a notification for some thing this would be a cool feature for this app. Also it would be cool if there was a feature to use contour app like a remote so I could just change the channel from my phone sometimes I can’t find the remote but I know where my phone is lol Along with that, maybe if the remote idea is a no go if there was just a way to add access to other contour boxes in the house hold. 🏡 Sometimes I’ll find a cute movie on a TV from in one room and I want to change it on the living room where my siblings may be watching from. (:

Channel Audio. Some channels have major sound issues when watching on tablet or phone, such as Oxygen and WGN. (plays volume for 3 seconds then silence. Very annoying.) If you read reviews I’m not the only customer with this issue. Update fixed the shrink/multitask issue, but I still can’t watch certain channels because no sound. Noticed difference in commercials with TV vs iPad. I’ll be sitting outside watching a show on iPad and see the same channel inside has different commercials which is very odd. Beside the sound issues, I use this app a lot and I like it. Just wish they’d fix the sound issue on channels that I pay extra to have but can’t even hear.

Contour. So I actually like the app for the most part. It’s convenient when I’m on the go but I really do t want to miss what I was watching. Now to the other side of that the channel selection is very limited on what you can watch when your not connected to you at home wifi. Now to me it makes no sense especially when I really total up the monthly payments and fees added to this. I feel more shows should be available and all of the recordings should be available no matter where I connected at.

Not on iPad Pro you don’t!. I bought a new iPad Pro specifically to watch TV in my kitchen on a bigger screen. Contour won’t load and after too much time spent talking, emailing and texting with Cox there is no resolution. I have an older small screen iPad in another part of the house and there’s no problem accessing Contour there. Cox says to contact Apple, Apple says to contact Cox. Cox should not be claiming Contour can be used on all my devices when it can’t. That’s false advertising. I received an email response to the above review saying “we can make this work.” When I click “contact the developer” in the email, I’m taken to an unrelated page. Seems impossible to find a contact person. To answer questions I was asked: My iPad Pro has the latest IOS -13.4.1. My iPad automatically upgrades to the latest version. I have no problems with any other apps. I would love to get this resolved. Thank you!

contour pwd lost on upgrade. I love Contour. i have become dependent on it or at least used to its convenience. I want to say that first because otherwise I wouldn’t be appreciative to the developers. And I wouldn’t take the time to review it. My recent upgrade to Iphone XS however caused me to need to re-enter my pwd. Now you may be saying to yourself ... yeah duh. but I backed up everything to my itunes and restored all the apps and data from my 7plus to this iphone. For some apps I lost my pwd and others I didn’t. God bless those developers who retained it and for those who did not... please mote this experience.... If I now reset my pwd I have to resign in with the new pwd on all my devices... the old contour pwd is stored on those others but removed on my iphone Xs now. I saved my conour pwd to a post it note but when I try the pwd it rejects and wants me to reset. I guess I have to bite the bullet and do the reset but sigh... Wife’s phone is gonna reset... kids... computers... all because cox doesnt back up my pwd.... which brings me back to the start... if I didn’t like the app I wouldn’t bother... but I do and it’s gonna cost me ...

Continued audio issues. Downgraded my rating to one star. No audio on some channels. On other channels the audio drops after watching for a few seconds. Others it works just fine .. why?? This was an issue I complained to support about a while back and was eventually fixed .. now the issue is back. No Cox I don’t remember which channels are doing this, it’s random .. seems to change from day to day. I’m surprised I’m the only one experiencing this. Also, the Recent Channels function no longer works correctly. It does reflect recent channels watched. Please fix and I’ll increase my rating of it.

Awesome. Maybe I’m just easily satisfied but this app is pretty much perfect so far, everything I could really need is already implemented into the application, give or take a few things. I can’t for the life of me understand why people are rating the application so low just because it’s not as good as other providers, that’s the point.. it should be uniquely different, keep adding onto the application and don’t let it go months without updating and I’m sure it’ll just keep getting better and better.

Cannot sign in!. I cannot sign in to use this app on my iphone7 plus. Don't waste your time. I tried tech support. Elevated to the engineers, but they never called back! My account has changed. I can now sign in to this app. Been using it for about a week. No problems at all. Works well at home and on the go. I have deleted other single channel apps that are covered by contour app.

App rarely works. This app would be great if it worked and did what it claims it does from their commercial. The commercial said you can record shows from the app and watch them from the app. This app doesn’t do this. It also has A LOT of issues. During a 30 minute show, the app crashes at least 10 times. It also has a lot of issues with the screen freezing as soon as the show comes back from commercial. The sound work but the screen freezes on the channels “we’ll be right back” screen. So, I hear the voice but don’t see it. I have to close and reopen 2-3 times to be able to watch the show with picture AND sound. This happens at lease once every time the show comes back from a commercial break. It’s never happened during a commercial break, just during the show. This app also cuts out parts of the show. When watching a comedy, it’ll come back from commercial break mid-punchline. It comes back mid sentence. Cox REALLY needs to fix A LOT about this app, or just delete it and start over. I’ve had several different TV providers and Cox’s app is the worst.

Change in policy?. I love this app for the ability to watch movies and shows, but recently it started requesting my location when I tried to do either, even when I’m on my home network! This seems like overkill to me because the app already knows if you’re not at home because it only allows certain shows and movies when you are not using your home network. Is there a way to get rid of this location requirement? I love the service, but for the money I pay I shouldn’t have to give out my specific location. ‘Home’ or ‘not-at-home’ should suffice.

Cannot sign into contour app. Get the following error message attempting to sign in on my IPad running IOS 14.7.1 Whitelabel Error Page This application has no explicit mapping for /error, so you are seeing this as a fallback. Sun Aug 22 19:54:58 UTC 2021 There was an unexpected error (type=Unauthorized, status=401). Unauthorized. Only able to sign in after shutting off IPad and turning back on. Then it happens again after signing out of app and then attempting to sign in later the same/next day. I never use a VPN on this device and using my laptop doesn’t address the issue. This started with my last IOS update, because contour worked find on my IPad prior to that update.

What Happened?. What happened to this app? I use to love the Contour app, but now it is useless. I use to love this app to watch my favorite shows on the go. And the fact it was blind friendly was a major bonus to me. Though now when I open the Contour app the only options I get is Saved, Purchases and Downloads. Sure these are great options, but I don’t use them. What happened to the watch live option? Is this no longer available, or is the app no longer blind friendly and Voiceover screen reader compatible?

Absolute trash. All I want is to watch shark week and this clown app won’t let me even log in . Cox you are a failure and disappointment to everyone . I hope each of these app developers know how much we all look down on them . Your families should be ashamed of you . Fix your app then we can talk. Update 1 day later: Cox says I may have tried logging in during maintenance, so I tried again. Yet again , I have been let down. Never believe what these developers have to say . They are liars and frauds . When I die, please lower me into my grave so you can let me down one last time.

Disappointing. The whole point of this should allow access to watch recorded shows away from home. I can’t do that unless I’m connected to my home WiFi. What’s the point. I may as well wait until I get home to watch anything. What’s the point of having this app if you can’t do anything with it.

WGN AMERICA. Please tell me why listings in the Phoenix area for this channel are not showing. 1054, 54. The guide listings only says “to be announced “. The shows are there but you don’t know what’s on because of the guide. It doesn’t even show up in the, soon to be discontinued, guide listings online. You can’t set a recording for a show because of this. Please fix it! It’s not my tv, I have 3 and they all say the same. Call for help and they want to do a reboot! No, that does not fix it. I’ve had COX long enough to know to try that! It’s on your end or WGN’s. Somebody just fix it!

Please turn on view Recorded shows capability. I moved from an Xfinity Comcast area a little over a year ago and it was quite obvious to me whoever developed this Contour app is the same company who developed the Xfinity Stream app. The menus/format are exactly the same except I am unable to download my recorded shows and view them on my iPad or even view them in my house on my iPad. I find this quite frustrating. I was able to do this on the Xfinity Stream app.

It’s awful for ESPN. I am out of town. I guess I understand not being able to watch my back home broadcast channels, but it seems all other channels in our tier should be available. I enjoy sports and watching games. When I click on the ESPN channel for the last few times I have tried, it says “no live events available.” I can watch reruns of something on USA Network or Dirty Jobs on Discovery, but not the current product offering on ESPN. It is terribly aggravating. We will most likely be switching our carrier soon.

Doesn’t work. Good when it works bad when it doesn’t. Not sure why half the show is silent and showing “we’ll be right back after this break”. I just want to watch the show. I’d even take the commercials over the silence. Update- although I’d rather have commercials over silence, my point was that I get that message for more than half the show. I miss most of the show due to that message, it’s not just during the time of commercial breaks.

Can’t watch my saved recordings on the Contour app on iPad. I can record on my iPad, but cannot watch them after they are recorded. My only choice is record options.....no watch option like on my tv set. I called Cox and the representative told me to delete the app and reinstall. This did not work. I love this app to watch all my favorite shows, however.

Video works but no sound on even more channels. My video works but no sound on a growing number of channels. Started out on ion, then now onto USA, now CBS, and my local channel 9. Have deleted app and reinstalled and did not fix problem. Had cox tech out and he ran all tests and was stumped. This problem has been going on for over 8 months and no one at Cox seems to know how to fix it. Cox Cable support is a huge joke! Been with them for over 30 years but seriously considering switching.

Utter Failure; Do Not Recommend. Forced to download this and 2 other apps- all 3 of which replace the Cox Connect app which had the functionality of all three. YET this new app still has less than half the functionality and usability that I had solely in the tv section of Connect. Cox has the worst customer service and, while their individual employees may, this company really doesn’t seem to care one bit about their users and customers, but still massively overcharges for worse and worse service. Less than zero stars; do NOT recommend!

Happy with COX. I’ve been very happy with my Contour App Only wish I could have more access to the live tv thru my mobile devices without being linked to home WiFi. My price is good very comparable to any other tv provider. I run 6 devices including A game console and have no issues with latency streaming

Not working. Besides periodically not recognizing my in home WiFi and therefore not giving me access to channels, for the last few days the only way certain channels will have audio is when the screen is minimized! What’s up with that? I have not been able to get any assistance from Cox on the telephone, my last phone call lasting a full hour while numerous reps “created a ticket” to document the problems. Please help.

Was expecting much more.. So first, I do have a suggestion. Let us watch our recordings. Everything has to be on-demand to watch. I really appreciate if it were possible to watch recordings and not just things that are on-demand. Also, when watching live tv, I have this problem where most of the time the audio is delayed sometimes. Not great but not bad either.

False promotion-should be sued. Cox promoting the ability to watch live tv on any device within your own Wi-Fi network is an absolute lie. Forget about TV on any device outside your cox Wi-Fi network. I’ve been on a chat with customer service for 30 minutes and I can’t get a straight answer on why the vast majority of channels available to me show the “watch” button greyed out. So basically this is a hugely promoted service by cox that customers pay for but don’t receive.

TRASH. If I could give this app zero stars, I would. On the computer, I have to refresh the page about 20-30 times for it to even exit out of the loading screen. On the app, Contour spends 50% of the time with the screen buffering saying “attempting to resume”, I can’t even really watch anything. So not only is this app horrible, the WiFi cox provides is just as bad. Second of all, half of the channels have no sound & haven’t had sound for WEEKS. I have never had one single day where contour has worked perfectly with no issues. It’s the absolute worst.

Well this seems pointless. Rant: What is the point of this app if you can only watch local channels at home? My husband is currently deployed and the entire point we bundled to have this app was so he could access some shows on his phone when able to and he can’t even use it. I don’t understand the need to overcharge so much for cable and internet but unfortunately our options seem limited. Paying over $100 for internet and this app should mean that this app is worth it.

Too many problems. It might be fine, but there are too many errors. The biggest is the frequency with which it prohibits me from watching my recordings because it says I’m not connected to my in-home WiFi even though I very much am. It also freezes a lot when watching live TV. Please fix those errors first. Next, please add a functionality to set recordings via the app. Xfinity’s app is much better; I wish they were available where I live!

Works great!. I don’t get all the bad reviews this app gets. I’ve been using it for about two years now and it works just as it’s supposed to. You watch channels on your iphone or ipad based on your cox subscription. No issues whatsoever on my end. I certainly appreciate having it.

Needs Improvement. I have an account registered with a passcode from Cox but the app won’t let me login on my iPhone or iPad. It keeps stating something went wrong, they are sorry that something unexpectedly happened. Try again. After multiple unsuccessful attempts it leads me to believe there marketing slogan that you can stream live tv if you have service is false. I’ve met all the listed requirements while troubleshooting using their help page. Tried uninstalling and re-install still doesn’t work.

cox is such a scam. I got cox contour because the reps on the phone told me it will save me money. which by the way I was going to save since I cut off my cable and keep internet. contour does not work right at all you can not watch any shows because it tells you. you have to be on your home wifi to watch anything. and here is the kicker and if you want to watch on your TV you can not hook anything up so you can throw it on the TV. contour is only to make cox money it does nothing useful at all.

Need to be able to enter a channel number. Although I love the Contour app, and wish I could watch more channels. But I understand why I can’t. The biggest gripes I have is not being able to just enter a channel number and go straight to it, and not being able to pause, or rewind if I have to leave the room, and not able to take my phone with me. It would be nice to have a PIP, but I know that won’t happen.

Can’t even get past the open page. Just got started with my new Cox account and I downloaded the Contour TV app I installed it opened it and hit the get started button and the only thing I can get to is something that says University sign in I am not a university sign in I can’t get past it matter what I try please explain

Iphone x. I’m not sure if anybody’s ever had this problem but I am literally stuck on Contour app purchases page. I accidentally touched purchases and now I am stuck with in the app I have tried everything resetting the phone&force closing the app!Every time I open the app it goes right back to the purchases page and I cannot get back because we do not have a back button.

It works most of the time. It works on my iPad but often times I get no audio. The audio on the hallmark channel almost never works. Now it’s the Disney channel which for my daughter is very disappointing. It could be other channels as well but of course I don’t watch them. Please fix this (and don’t blame my iPad, which is perfect, because it’s happening to others as well!)

Tired useless app forces video to start before commercials…. This is actually going to cost the company in many ways but more directly we are working to move our 400 users to the new fiber provider in our community. Issues like this poor support bad wiring and overall abject failure to provide a quality service just add to the decision. Especially devices that require resets and power cycling. We are please that there are now also wireless 5g solutions coming to our rescue.

Terrible. I’ve written other reviews, but for some reason they never show. Contour ToGo is the worst. I purchased this service for the ability to watch tv shows on the go, but most shows are interrupted by the message ‘We admire your patience. We’ll be right back’, and you end up missing half the show you’re trying to watch. Also, most of the programs you get at home you can’t get on the go, like MASN Sports (one of the main reasons I purchased Contour. The upshot is that it isn’t worth the money This review never shows up

Most channels only play while on your home WiFi. The app works well enough except (a) it’s through a cable company which have overtaken used car salesmen in the category of “companies we trust least” and (b) most local channels won’t stream live on this app once you leave your home WiFi. There are so many hidden fees (sports, box rental) and obtuse contracts that aside from obtaining an internet connection from a cable company it’s hard to recommend doing business with them.

Terrible. This app constantly freezes stops shuts down comes back freezes and then the cycle continues. It is absolutely frustrating. I have called I have had technicians in my home nobody can help they all point to someone else. I’m not saying Cox is bad but they’ve upgraded all the technology to Contour but unfortunately the app whether you use it on your phone or an iPad is just absolutely terrible. If they wanted to win an award it would be for the most times something failed or froze up.

So Frustrating!. Contour TV is wonderful! Can’t imaging life without it anymore. Wish we could say the same about the Contour app. You no sooner get into a program and it freezes up. IF it reconnects it takes forever though most of the time we have to close the app and say the heck with it. For a communication system as big as Cox is you would think their app would work better especially when you are using it in the house where you have no issues with wifi.

The App on my iPhone worked, now it Doesn’t. Up until 2 weeks ago the Contour app worked perfectly. Now it’s telling me I don’t have a subscription for anything including the Live TV all channels. I’ve deleted and have rerun the app as well as powered the iPhone down and back up. What happened? I’m not overly happy as we’re paying close to $180 a month for nothing that works except the home television and the house phone( might I add with no long distance calling)!

Works, sort of, horribly limited in usefulness. 2019 and still no casting support at all, not chromecast, airplay or anything else. Many channels not licensed for remote viewing while they can be watched in their own apps. Really? At the sky high prices you charge, really? But at least the apps works better than the PC version which still require archaic and ‘abandoned by’ Adobe Flash player. HTML5, what is that? This all really is a sorry offering from one of the most expensive cable operators in the entire country.

Doesn’t Work With Apple TV. The guy at the store told me to get an Apple TV to stream the app from my iPhone to the tv. Before I bought one, I also had a company tech come to my house to fix an issue with the internet and I double checked with him about the Apple TV and he also recommended it. So I buy the Apple TV and of course when I try to stream the Cox app, there is a licensing issue that doesn’t allow it to be streamed. Congratulations Cox, you have officially usurped Comcast as the worst cable company in the history of this country.

Worst streaming app I have ever used. This is the most buggy streaming app ever. The app will automatically just close itself randomly for no reason at all. Also when I’m watching a game or a show and minimize the screen so I can text someone or email someone, then when I go full screen it completely pauses the stream and I have to keep hitting play till the stream catches back up. If my family wasn’t with Cox I wouldn’t touch this app with a 10ft pole. This app is a pure headache and a slap in the face to Cox customers.

Seriously??. You turn it on to watch on your phone, pick the channel that looks good, tune in....now you will get 8 or 10 commercials then if you are lucky, you will FINALLY get to the show!! But wait, don’t get too comfortable because in “maybe” 2 minutes of your show it’s time for ANOTHER marathon commercial break. Don’t waste your time because this IS the way you watch a show through the contour app. Gave it one star because it won’t let you give it zero!

Can’t even sign in. I downloaded the app to be able to watch programs on my phone ; I can’t watch from the apps like ESPN because there is always a “technical difficulty” error message. I contacted Cox and was told it was not their problem. So, I thought I would try to watch programs from their Contour app. Can’t even sign in and I’m not going to go through their arduous customer service process to be told it’s not their problem again. Ridiculous

Worthless crap. At its best, this app theoretically allows you to watch tv on your iPad the one place you don't much need it--at home where your tv is. But even that it mostly fails to deliver. I tried a few times when we didn't all want to watch the same thing and Haven't been able to watch a complete show on the app yet. It constantly crashes, then starts from the beginning of the show every freaking time and since you can't forward, it's like some Groundhog Day hell where you never get to the end. I don't know why they bother.

The app is just as ridiculous as the company and their prices. Get service with Cox if you want to be overcharged for very limited access through an app that won’t run on most commonly used streaming devices or smart TVs when traveling in state for work. I can literally only watch a small amount of channels on the smallest screen I have available (my phone) and don’t feel like spending money on more streaming devices when I already have two of the major brands. Worthless.

Show seasons. It really angers me when I go to the app to find the past seasons of the show that has 3 or more seasons with only 1 or two shows per season. If I go to contour to watch shows I like to watch em from the beginning but I can’t when they don’t have the full thing on there. Either update your shows more often or don’t promise people they can watch a show from the start.

Secret. Works Great. Now for the secret I watch the history channel I downloaded the history channel app and it runs in eastern time since i am on pacific time i get my shows 3 hours early. Log in with Cox ID click live button. Basically thats how the apps work. This cox app works Great on my iphone.

No Apple TV = Broken App. EVERY OTHER LARGER/MAJOR CABLE PROVIDER offers an Apple TV app. Some Cable providers will even provide you an Apple TV _as_ your access device in place of a Cable box. I have never wanted to go back to the dark days of being an AT&T Uverse, or even worse, Comcast customer, but the fact that both those companies’ streaming IPTV solutions work on Apple TV is telling. In over 5 years since the 4th gen Apple TV launched the fact that Contour app has failed to launch is both Luddite and ludicrous. Maybe COX should rebrand their IPTV and OTT platform as Xfintisimal?

LOCATION / PRIVACY. I have the app on my iPhone as well as my husbands, however on my phone no matter what I’m watching I have to turn my location on to use the app. Cox said they would put in a ticket and someone would contact me. No call and I still have to have my location on to stream. No privacy!!!

This App Does Not Work for iOS. Just as the title states: This product is not functional, at least not for my phone (iPhone X with most up to date iOS). When I try logging into the app, it says “something unexpected went wrong”. I tried the help service line and the only advice they could give me was to try deleting the app and reinstalling, which I did several times. It’s been by far the most frustrating part of our experience with Cox cable and internet.

The worst. This app is terrible. Sound randomly cuts out when viewing on demand, and there’s no way to recover aside from going all the way back to the start of a show, which means rewatching all the commercials, as well, and then the sound cuts out at different places anyway (before I even got back to where I had originally left off). I wondered why it had such low stars. Downloaded it anyway, and now I know.

Can’t watch recordings and it lags so much. I was planning on watching my recording of Better Call Saul tonight but apparently you can’t watch recordings on the app even when you’re on your home Wi-Fi. Also, when I try to pull of live tv, it takes forever to load the guide to see gets on and it takes even longer to load up the channel. This app is such a let down, not worth it in its current state.

Arghhhhhhh. I love how this app makes shows that I’ve never heard of available. I’ve found new shoes because of this feature. This app has been great except it cuts off the last 5-6 minutes of every stinking show. You never know who is picked, who won, which house they buy, which wedding dress they decide on, what the fish tank looked like, if they are arrested. The list is endless. What is the point of watching anything if you can’t watch the final 6 or more minutes of every show? Come on Cox, you can do better than this.

Piggybacking off Xfinity!!. This app is just a piggyback from Comcast Xfinity back east! The live TV guide looks the same the app works just like there’s and they just rename it and make it worse than the real app Comcast provides. Why do they have to use another companies resources to provide entertainment? Probably because they are too incompetent to do it themselves. I bet cox has been paying to other companies for years to provide tech support and cable they can’t even figure out themselves because they have to steal it from Comcast to provide 21 century services.

Ok app. Wish it had a remote feature.. The app is ok. It is nice to be able to watch on different devices and record programming remotely. The app works well most of the time with some issues on occasion. The one thing I really wish this had was a remote control for the cable box built into the app. At minimum it would be nice to select a show from the guide to play on the box. I had DirecTV before and it had those features which were extremely nice and convenient.

Cuts out audio. This app usually works really well. I have used it to keep up with certain programming when I vacation. I am disappointed that all channels are not available when not at home, but there are a few local channels that is considered “on the go”. Lately, the channels that are not my local channels, like CNN, A&E, etc. the audio is cutting out after connection with the channel. This sure is annoying. Please, fix. Thank you.

Streaming using Contour app is impossible!. I get up early, and even at 4am it is impossible to stream CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, or any other news source to my phone or iPAD because of frequent and unpredictable breaks in service. These infuriating breaks in the programming service are accompanied by intolerably slow streaming, and often complete loss of streaming for extended periods. Of course COX customer service refuses to even acknowledge that these breaks in service and offers to send a service man out at my expense to check my system. No, COX, it’s your signal that’s faulty, not mine.

Useless app. This app is almost useless. The app previously let you schedule a recording but they took that feature away. That was the best feature of the app. They advertise you can watch tv from anywhere but when I login, I almost always get a message that says I need to be connected to my home wifi to watch that channel. Well that defeats the purpose of watch anywhere if you have to be connected at home.
