Keeps crashing. Incredibly frustrating experience, cannot complete a single claim without this app crashing.

Horrible. What in the heck is a reference number? Please make sure you clarify who is this app geared towards cause it sure is not for regular insured folks.

It deserves -5 stars… fire the developer team!! All of it, please please please. The app used to work pretty well in 2019. However cigna kept releasing useless updates that made the app worst: slower, less responsive and full of bugs (it keeps crashing, does not take password etc.). Fire the head of the development team, and hire someone capable!!

Garbage app. They’ve somehow managed to make this app worse as time goes by. It’s gets stuck in login loops, doesn’t accept forms and claims, and doesn’t remember login info. So worthless and frustrating. Pay someone to fix this…

A complete waste of time…... This is a review of the Cigna Health Benefits app for iPhone. This is a review being done on Dec. 13, 2023. The app is not ready to be used by anyone at anytime in that whatever updates were recently given to this app were completely useless. Multiple times while trying to file a claim the app times out and forces the user to log in over and over. I have literally spent over one hour trying to get to step 3 on two claims and the app keeps timing out before you get to step three. Other times after taking the photos of the paperwork the “wait” icon pops up and after a minute or so you get asked to log in again only to find out when you do log in that the information that was input has not been saved. One would think that if a business was getting it’s customers to pay the health premiums and do “customer self service” as well; under the guise of “helping the customer” the app would/should work flawlessly.

Buggy. The app constantly tells me my password is incorrect. I’ve taken to backspacing when I’m in the password field to get rid of any phantom characters which seems to fix it. Furthermore it will randomly kick me off and back to the login screen. This app needs some serious work and updates

Crash crash crash. Just trash. I keep getting kicked out.

App is pathetic.. Wake up Cigna. This terrible excuse for an app is pathetic and just doesn’t meet the grade, constantly glitching out. This app is the face of your company, what every client uses to interface with you… make the experience a delight, not a dread.

Worse app ever. This app is simply a disaster. Every time you open it you need to re-enter your information, it doesn’t retain any piece of i formation. When trying to key in your password you have to be very lucky to be able to do it at first. It usually (and if) takes like 15 to 20 to activate the boxes to key in your password after you re-entered your user. What a poor quality for such a big and profitable company. Worth to invest a couple of thousand dollars for such a simple improvement that will make members’ lives easier. Very disappointed

Won’t allow me to log in. Ye, this is legit false advertisement right here. I’m an active member and I can’t use the app to get my digital card and see the map like it says I can? SCAM

Can’t login. Kicks me out after few seconds. We are quite happy with the insurance provider but the app is terrible. The problem with login was there from the beginning but recently it became horrible. Can’t use the app to register my claims. The alternative is using the web interface, but since the paper receipts need to be pictured, it is not the mist convenient option. Come on, Cigna, invest in better developers!

My plan- download impossible. I cannot download ‘My plan’. There are pdf documents which would not download.

Needs Major Work. This app is more of a headache than useful. Website is easier to navigate.

Horrible App. I can access my information from my desktop, but not from iPad app. It says my information does not match their record. Then it begins taking me in circles to change password. Get this piece of crap out of the App Store.

App issues. As expensive as health insurance is… YOU ALL COULD AT LEAST INVEST IN A PROGRAM/APP that actually helps customers!! Can’t log in or anything. I don’t care what day it is I can never access the app for anything. You all need to delete the app and start over. Don’t even offer it to costumers because it shows the CEO is pocketing the money. Because you barely cover health expenses on top of that i can’t even get what I need or valuable information for care providers as the app is never working properly. REMOVE IT UNTIL SOME ONE HAS THE INTELLIGENCE TO FIX IT.

Useless App. Asks for personal reference number that is nowhere to be found!

Problem logging in. Since I started using the app, access has been spotty. It is very fickle and sometimes lets me process my claims. However most times I am booted out of the app, repeatedly

Company service good - app awful. I don’t know what it is, but unless we login every day, when trying to login, the proper password doesn’t work. Half the time, you can’t type in a password. We basically have to reset the password every time we use the app. Just awful. It’s a shame because when we do eventually get in, the features work pretty well. Perhaps only using the browser would be better.

You probably want the MyCigna App version!. From all the negative reviews, it looks like the description is not clear who is this app intended for. Your card should say “CignaHealthBenefits” Didn’t work for me either since my Cigna is not the correct plan. “MyCigna” app worked and is the one that the negative reviewers probably needs.

Very slow app and crashes. It’s not an intuitive app and very slow, often crashing and not uploading pictures.

Used to work. Now need reference number.. The app used to work. Now it doesn’t work at all and you need some reference number not on the card. smh. Really need to change my insurance next year. For a company this big to have such a useless app is no excuse.

Can’t login, it’s frustrating. For the price of the insurance, a decent app could be provided for the clients. Unfortunately this is the worst app I’ve been trying to use. Can’t login due to technical issues every time. Managed only once by changing password, the next time same thing happened. Please resolve this.

App malfunction. The app constantly logs out and takes the user back to the login page when you’re in the middle of submitting an online claim. I had to log back in about 8 times before I could finally finish submitting the claim. The app would be so useful if this glitch could be sorted out.

Personal Reference number???. There is no personal reference number on the card anywhere. Ask us for our ID #, policy #…anything else…

Disappointed. Confused.... For starters my membership card looks nothing like the one shown as an example. And I don’t have a “personal ID number”!! What the heck!!

Useless. Less than. Can’t even login

Most useless health app ever!. I downloaded the right app to my phone, but the app won’t accept my personal reference number on my membership card. And there is no support for the app. Support just sends you to the CIGNA web page. Useless.

Augusto. Cigna service’s pretty good but your App is pretty bad and this started about two years ago not even your last representative was helpful, I think she needs to find a new career.

Unusable App!!!. I keep getting logged out of the app repeatedly while trying to file my claim. I have just spent more than an hour trying to submit one invoice in one claim. And noting how many other users have been complaining about the same issue for years, I really wonder why Cigna is not fixing these basic issues. Customer interface at its very worst.

Password box obscured. I use this on an iPad mini. After I type my user ID, the password box is obscured by the device’s keyboard! There is no way to make it visible. How lame is that?

I am DONE with this app. It frequently logs me out when I’m using it. Sometimes I can submit a claim on the first try, more often I can’t. I’m in IT, so believe me I’ve tried everything. The developer refuses to acknowledge the problem.

Has infrastructure issue. Not sure what’s the infra behind this app but seems to have basic service availability issue. Files won’t upload, sometimes login page won’t even load

Worthless. Cannot paste my password, cannot use fingerprint. The app is merely a website mirror.

Are you planning to leave the app useless forever?. For at least two months now, no pictures can be uploaded in the app to submit claims. I’ve let this known to the company, nothing changes. So, what’s the alternative?

App & Website are useless!. How are new policy holders suppose to set up a new account when you don’t give them the options?? I looked all over your website and it doesn’t give me an option to do so... So how am I suppose to a provider that accepts my insurance.

Terrible app. This app is terrible! There are a zillion popups, functionality is frustrating. Cigna, it’s time to develop a new app!!

Personal Reference Number. There is no number like they ask for. The mobile app is useless. Thanks for wasting my time.

Why am I constantly logged out?. Every time I am submitting a claim no matter how fast I’m typing or uploading a photo I am constantly logged out of the app. Practically unusable. Fix this please!

No Personal Reference Number Found. This is dead and useless. There is no personal reference number on the membership card. Yeah Cigna, how about asking for some information on the card? Like ID number, Group number. Get your act together. Your better than this crap!

This app shouldn’t exist. And is symbolic of how bad the American healthcare system is. If “benefits” of employment are basic healthcare and “benefits” of healthcare are avoiding more expensive healthcare then we are doomed. Of course I’m doomed even sooner because I got laid off and can’t afford $760 month. In a gig economy when full-time workers are unable to keep steady healthcare, we must revolt and revolutionize the failed system.

Annoying to use. Crashes all the time or the loading wheel spins endlessly. I honestly think they make it difficult to use so you give up and don’t make claims.

Worse than the web site. No support for: - modern device screen sizes - no support for Apple Wallet for membership card (even though the crappy app is supposed to replace the physical membership card going forward, as per the e-Mail I received from Cigna today!) - no support for keychain to log in (must look up password manually in keychain, then type it in) - tries to set all sorts of tracking cookies - and: the membership card section doesn’t even display the card reliably, it’s hit or miss, if it does or doesn’t, and on which device it does or doesn’t Just a horrible experience! Can’t be that hard to develop a decent app with such limited functionality, can it?

Personal reference number?. If this app is for specific group with in the CIGNA family, that would be nice to know. There is no personal reference number on my insurance card, there is a group number and an ID number, and neither of those numbers work for access to this app.

Authentication issues. Unfortunately for several months now this app, which used to be useful particularly for submitting online claims, has been suffering from authentication issues. In short this means that after you login, assuming you succeed in doing so, it kicks you out within a matter of seconds. Logging in again in the hopes of finishing is subject to luck. It’s frustrating and makes the app virtually unusable. I certainly hope a fix is in the works. Cigna: please give priority to fixing this app.

Absolutely unbelievably terrible. What can one say about using this app that hasn’t already been said about trench warfare? Absolute misery trying to (1) log in (2) upload receipts (3) submit claims. Aside from those core functions being perpetually broken, it’s a piece of cake. Rotten cake. Cigna, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Disappointed and Confused. I started using Cigna at the end of 2019 and didn’t have any issues with viewing my benefits. Now that I have something to look up, my password is no longer working and the app is asking for a “personal reference number”. I was never given this on a card. Cigna also claims that if you didn’t get a card, the personal reference number would be in the welcome email. I checked, and it is NOT included in a single email from Cigna. I’m very disappointed and am now scrambling to figure out my coverage. Cigna please fix this app... I’m not trying to spend hours on the phone on hold or talking to some automated system to figure this out when the app has worked in the past....

Annoying app. It’s really annoying that I’ve been trying to submit my claims for over two hours now and cannot finish such a simple task because this app keeps crashing over and over! Don’t know what you did to it but definitely, someone messed up with the whole app! Not happy at all!

How to log in?!. I internet my personal reference number and created a password but it won’t log in, WHY?! How would I ever log in if the app and the website has no “creat” option?! please guide me !!!!

It’s sooooo slow. It’s next to useless

Not so slow but same as website. This is not a great app. My biggest gripe is that is not adapted for the ipad so you can only use it in portrait mode which is no use if you have a keyboard. I prefer to use it on my apple device so I can use the camera directly for taking photos. Also do not understand why there is no box to add a description of the claim so its only evaluated on the information in the receipt. I like the idea to keep it simple but its only going to result in slowing things down because they will need to send me queries on my claim for the extra information they will need.

It kept having error on iPhone 14. This app has trouble to load on my iPhone 14. I kept getting error for the app.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. This app rarely works on my iPhone 13. I use it mostly to submit claims and I’m lucky if I am able to do so. Just keeps giving me “an unexpected error occurred”.

Do something! Tedious. No improvements for the last 3 years, still can’t see full membership number on my phone. All too often errors, not able to upload screenshots after many attempts each time putting all details in again.

Unable to Log In, No Support. Like other reviewers, I'm unable to log in because it seems to ask for a number that is not on my card. I called Cigna, and their Tech Support person had never heard of the app and told me to use the MyCigna iPhone app instead.

Useless. Can't log in since it asks for a pr# that doesn't exist. Log in is different from web site. Make a simple process difficult. Pos.

Difficulty to login. Every time it is so complicated to login. Username disappears and password is often ignored or indication it is wrong (which it isn’t!) . I saw a review of 2 years ago with similar complaint. Can you improve this App 🙏

Poorly designed and supported. To call this app touchy and temperamental is an understatement. I’ve had a few issues with it randomly restarting itself and long lag times in the past, however it seems as if things have gotten worse. With a good WiFi connection it still had me re-login no less than 8 times to complete one invoice. This app is long overdue for basic upkeep and code maintenance to stabilize it so it can properly support Cigna’s customers.

This app requires a "personal reference number", if you don't have one read on.... If you don't have a Cigna "personal reference number", you should install the myCigna iPhone app instead. Note: "myCigna" is an iPhone only app, so you will not find it on an iPad unless you search the iPhone apps specifically.

Login issues - stupid app. Just like others--can't log in as the app asks for a personal reference number that is not on my card. How many complaints is it going to take to fix the app?????

Really bad app. My office recently changed our health plan to Cigna. The app is really bad, it does not generate an electronic card health insurance to use in the apple wallet. Actually, It is not an app, is more like a shortcut for web-browsing. I have tried to download the image of the insurance card to my photo, but it never worked. Most of the time I try to access the insurance card using this app it never loads, it freezes. I hope Cigna develops a real app with the option to export the insurance card to the apple wallet. I have not idea if android users have the same problem.

Can't even log on. Asks for a nonexistent personal reference number instead of username. Impossible to actually log in. Quite possibly fraudulent.
