Calorie Counter - MyNetDiary App Description & Overview

What is calorie counter - mynetdiary app? MyNetDiary is the calorie tracker you'll actually stick with. Log meals in seconds with a free barcode scanner, Meal Scan (just photograph your plate), or quick search. No ads, no account required. Then get on with your day.

Trusted by 32 million people. Named the top weight loss app by Forbes Health (2025). Highest-rated by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. The New York Times called it simpler, quicker, and better-looking than the competition. Featured in Today's Dietitian, alongside WW and Noom.

WHY PEOPLE SWITCH

Our food database has over 2 million staff-verified items with up to 108 nutrients. That matters because most apps rely on crowdsourced data full of duplicates and errors.

We're also fast. We logged the same 127 foods in every major app over a week. MyNetDiary took 31% fewer taps than the most popular calorie tracker. Less time logging means you actually keep doing it.

The free version is generous: barcode scanning, macro and 108 nutrient tracking, food diary, calorie calculator, and progress charts. No ads, no paywall tricks.

Active members lose an average of 1.4 lb per week, according to the MyNetDiary Efficacy Report.

Many switched from other diet and nutrition apps.

Calorie Counter - MyNetDiary Comments & Reviews 2026

I can’t believe such an exceptional diet app is free!!. When my trainer gave me a diet to follow for my two month weight loss, it was so inconvenient to keep a pad and paper with me for tracking every individual calorie as well as making estimates on what I thought was in different servings of food. it was time consuming and impractical. With MyNetDiary I can scan a barcode super quickly, and it logs all the food for me, as well as giving a breakdown of my general macros as an added feature. Not only that, it saves the foods that I commonly eat at different meals, so I can simply select several at a time to log for that meals calculation. This feature is super convenient because obviously I’m going to be eating out of my refrigerator so I don’t have to scan barcodes every time and can just click the bubble next to the food and serving size that I typically use. I highly recommend for anybody who is interested in a snap shot, that gives you easy access to one look at your daily calorie consumption as well as what’s left in your budget and a easy to read pie chart of the macro breakdown. Enjoy!

I’ve used them ALL this one BEST by FAR!!!. I’ve been on this yo-yo dieting and diet trends for 1/2 my lifetime. I used MyFitnessPal and GAINED weight! Why? They allow calorie/fat user adds that aren’t verified and i was WAY over on my calories! Calories in, calories out. It’s that simple. I love this app! And I’ve used them ALL even the premium paid for ones! This is fully customizable. I lowered my calories to lose weight faster and adjusted my carb, protein and fat! I also am able to track my MACROS! I truly am so excited! I was considering WL surgery but I started this APP and I’ve lost 27 pounds in a month!!!! Wow! Truly can’t wait to see how the upgrades roll out. The paid version is under 10 bucks a month and well worth it. This has been a game changer for me to find where my strengths and weaknesses really are! Thank you to the developers for caring enough to help those of us who like to control our own plan and just need that edge. This is what I recommend to everyone and I uninstalled all those other apps from my phone! Glad to have the space back, all I need is MyNetDiary!!!! Thank you!

Even the free version is extremely helpful!. My teenage daughter (who does NOT need to lose weight but likes to be mindful oh the nutrients she puts into her body) of all people introduced me to this app and I couldn’t be happier with it! Even just using the unpaid, free, version is ridiculously helpful and helps me be more mindful of my food options! I’ve been using this app for somewhere around 2 weeks and I’ve already lost 8 pounds simply because I’m able to see the calories that are hidden in foods I’d typically eat as a snack or something! I can not recommend this app enough for anyone who either wants to lose weight or simply wants to be more conscious and conscientious of the foods they eat! My “calorie bank” for the day is far more generous than I would give myself, were I trying to diet on my own! I can eat anything my little heart desires as long as I’m reasonable about it! (I went way over yesterday since it was my birthday and I wasn’t even pretending to try and keep myself on track!) As a woman who had an eating disorder as a teenager and who still struggles with those impulses to this very day (more than 15 later), this app is helpful in showing me excited where my calorie are coming from and EXACTLY how many I have consumed!

Calorie counting made easy but I could do without the guilt trip. My husband and I both use the free app. I understand counting calories but found it too easy to ignore without using a tool. I especially like the different options for measuring the size of a serving. My husband has never been interested in tracking his food intake in the past. He has finally decided to get serious about losing weight and loves being able to scan bar codes to log his diet program foods… As I continue to use this app, I’m increasingly frustrated with being graded for my food choices! I make these choices intentionally and am achieving my goals. Overall, this app has been helpful and easy to use. But I won’t be upgrading to a paid subscription. Update: I rcd a notification there was a response to my review but I haven’t found it yet. I’d already read responses similar reviews and was happy to learn the grading is optional and easy to fix: we’re back in business and I’m bumping my stars back up to 5. If this setting is going to remain a default, seems the prudent move would be to notify folks it’s optional after the first use!

Inconsistencies between devices. I’ve used this app for approx. 18 months and overall it’s great. However it has several issues: a) there are only 7 options to modify a meal on an iPad vs 13 options on an iPhone. Using this app has made me OCD, such that I can “re-arrange food entries” on the iPhone but NOT on the iPad because the “re-arrange” option is not available; b) notes entered on the iPhone, oftentimes do NOT show on the iPad, (perhaps my memory is wrong, so for over three weeks, I tracked my entries by taking screen shots from the iPhone and the next morning noticing the notes NOT on the iPad). (c) the nutrition highlight re: Vitamin A warns about intake over 3,000mcg; but also notes “beta-carotene, the plant source of vitamin A is not considered harmful.” Since I consume carrots and yams, which are beta carotene sources of vitamin A, why does this app NOT recognize that? (d) The “add exercise to calorie budget is set to “Off”, yet whenever I add exercises, the app ADDs calories to my food budget! Please make the app options consistent between devices. Please fix the memory of notices between devices. Vitals: App v9.9, iOS 17.4, iPadOS 17.4

edit: ONE STAR. PAYWALLING FEATURES FOR OG USERS. I am very unhappy with the changes made in the past two years to this app. I reopened the app after not using it for a long time and many features such as even seeing total PROTEIN for added foods for one day is PAYWALLED!! Very unhappy. 5 stars —> 1 star. I called it in my original review from years ago. I downloaded a few of these trackers three weeks ago, but stuck with MyNetDiary. Gaining weight is like a game for me with this app. Setting goals at the start (over time or weight per week) is simple. I haven’t tried adjusting the goal yet but with how clean the app is, I’m sure it’s simple. The daily and weekly running calorie totals (over/under to meet goal) are also helpful. Lots of function for free. Only subtle ads, and minimal popups or notifications (that’s a +). I like intentionally checking the app instead of being reminded I “skipped entering a meal” or “haven’t opened the app today.” Predictive food entry is also handy. You can also pre-make “meals” and enter the while collection of foods in the future. My only “meal” I’ve added so far is milkshake :) If it didn’t have the loads of features it does I would probably uninstall, but until they cut their own legs off like most app developers do, I’ll keep MyNetDiary.

I love this app more than others (mfp). Out of all the apps I’ve used to manage weight, this is the one I feel the most comfortable using. Fasting apps, other calorie counting apps, none compare to this one. I switched to my net diary because I needed a change of “scenery” within my apps. I also felt like mfp was too sterile looking and just reminded me of ED’s and bad body image days. MyNetDiary has beautiful colors, easy to use features, and in depth explanation of why and how it calculates things for you so you can understand your weight loss, maintenance, or gain as you go along. It does have a new fasting option which is awesome. I was using the free version and i was still able to use it without pressure to buy premium and still reach my goals. I ended up buying the premium ($32 annually) and man…. I’ve never been so grateful for a purchase ever. I see full nutrients, can adjust macros and they even have different “diet” plans if you are keto, plant based or even just trying to eat differently. They also have a variety of foods automatically in their database. If your an aesthetic person like me, and want to reach their goals try this app

So much love. I used myfitnesspal in the past, and I just didn't like it. In my hands this app is much easier to use, and less "busy". MFP didn't suit me because I don't want to be in some kind of online community, I don't want to be super low carb, I'm not going down to 1200 calories a day, I just want to get the job done without a lot of hassle. With this app, I can usually quickly find what I ate/drank already in the database which is very important to me. I actually find that I enjoy logging my calories! I've been using this app for almost 6 weeks, lost over 12 pounds and am over halfway to my goal weight without being a completely hangry, miserable wretch. I am using the free version. I'd buy the full version but it's too expensive, and I don't want to pay a monthly fee. I do think they should work on their pricing to make it more reasonable to upgrade. Still, I am very thankful for this app and can truly see me using it from now on as part of a PERMANENT lifestyle change.

Love this app, easy and awesome. I LOVE MyNetDiary. Life changing!! Helps me track calories, macro, and micronutrients. I want to follow calcium, sodium, B vitamins, not just calories or carbs. You can add foods or recipes to the database, but rarely need to. It has many chain restaurant menu items also. Keeps track of weight with a cool chart, and your personal calorie budget can auto adjust depending on your goal progress. Remembers what you eat and items pop handily. Combined with limiting ‘white carbs’, helped me lose 10 lbs I had been trying to lose for years. Things were moving in the wrong direction. Measuring food and counting calories is the only thing that has worked for me ever, and this app makes it easy. I focus on healthy eating and keeping within an appropriate calorie budget, also reducing sodium, and curbing my cheese dependence, and this app has made a huge difference in my journey. On a scale of 1-5 stars I give it a 10. GET IT AND USE IT! It’s freakin awesome. I used the free version and was so sold I bought the paid version the same day.

Top Notch and Respects PRIVACY!. I was choosing between this and another highly rated app, but was concerned about my personal information being shared across platforms/websites. MyNetDiary appears to be the only one that doesn’t do that. A huge Thank you to the developers! When looking at any app on the App Store, you can scroll down and it will show all of the information that is shared. While MND does share some, it’s not tied to my identity, and shares no sensitive data. As far as usability, I’m very pleased—been using it daily for about 3 months, and have lost around 15 lbs. I love having the ability to scan foods, import my favorite recipes from the web, cut & paste my own, or even create new ones. Their own recipe database is HUGE with actual recipes that I use. Lastly, their customer support is quite responsive & helpful if you have questions—I typically receive an answer within 24 hrs, usually less. Lots more positives, but those are the big ones for me. I plan to keep the app even after I get to my target weight, just to stay on track. My only wish is that they would offer a lifetime subscription.

Thoughtful features that make tracking so much easier!. I got tired of the advertising and shrinking features of a competitor app so switched to MyNetDiary and am so glad I bit the bullet. It has so many features that have made tracking easier. I went for the paid version, which is very reasonably priced, but the free version is also great. There are no unverified food entries, so you don’t have to comb through a long list of inaccurate or incomplete foods to find what you want. One of my favorite features is that I can send them screen shots of my meal kit nutritional info and they verify and add it to the database within hours. I was having to enter the information manually every week with my old app. I also love that they let you edit a food item (not a recipe) to add or subtract an ingredient. So, for example, if you are eating out but asked for a substitution in your entree or maybe didn’t eat the bread, you can just enter the whole entree and subtract a food from it. No need to enter each item individually. I also really like the calorie cycling feature so that I can lower my calorie budget for early in the week and give myself more of a buffer on the weekends. This is a great app!

This app is AMAZING!!!. I am actually an app junky. When I'm looking for a particular app, I download a few of them simultaneously to compare which ones I like the best. I was using My Fitness Pal for years and did a premium trial which I was enjoying. The cost of their premium subscription really made me look at other apps. When I came across MyNetDiary it took me a few weeks to really go through the information because there's so much. I noticed a deal for the premium subscription so I thought I'd try it out. Since subscribing I have deleted my meal plan app, my grocery shopping app and my water tracking app. Because this app has it all! With this app I can customize pretty much everything - my macro nutrient percentages, water intake goals and alerts, micro nutrient goals, workout calories (connects to Apple watch) groceries list, diet specific recipes and Soo much more. The one thing that is a slight downside is the barcode scan doesn't have a very large database and many items I scan are not read. The upside to this is that you can manually add the nutrition information and pictures and upload them, therefore adding to the database. Customer support is very quick. I had an email reply within minutes. There is still a lot more information in the app that I haven't even looked into yet. I am overly happy with this app both as a free version and paid version.

Privacy concerns. I’ve used this app for years. Loved it. Recently I noticed the math was incorrect so I reached out to tech support. A tech was able to access my data without my prior knowledge or permission. In doing so, a glitch occurred which completely screwed up my numbers. For example, daily sodium intake was 1g. Protein was about 50g. And more. I asked him what happened and as an apology he upgraded my account without my permission. When I couldn’t get the values back to normal, I decided to just delete and reinstall. Unbeknownst to me there was an update to the software and everything I once had for free (pie chart and complete nutrient list) is now premium. I was not happy. I reached out again and the same tech responded saying he could see things were back to normal. So again he accessed my data without my permission! The reason why this is extra concerning is because I don’t have an account. So I don’t know how he’s getting into the app. Repeatedly. So I deleted it. I don’t trust it or the tech. I don’t have private data in there, but I’m worried the app may have a vulnerability of which I’m unaware. 5 stars for the app over all time but 1 star for support gets an average of 3.

Love but plz reverse change to Day Report. Love the app. It’s helped me lose 15 lbs so far, and bring my cholesterol down from 226 to 180 (October 2022 to October 2023). Love that it syncs with the iPhone health app, which pulls in data from my apple watch and smart scale. BUT… Used to rely on the Day Report, but with a recent update it’s much harder to use. The totals used to be at the top, so easy to see where I am during the day and adjust my calorie and nutrient intake, and/or take a supplement if I’m low (for example, for calcium). Now it’s at the bottom, so I keep having to glance up and down and up and down to figure out which column header is what, and it’s aggravating the heck out of me. It also used to show the number of calories left vs target by macro (fat, carbs, and protein), so I could adjust my eating by those exact numbers. But now it’s showing me % to target, which isn’t helpful with making eating decisions during the day. Now I’m guessing more and planning less, and my intake is not as exact as it was before the update. It’s much harder to use now, and make eating decisions on the fly. Love the app, and still using it, but put the Day Report back to the format it was before so I can use it properly on my phone again.

The most used app on the phone. I chose to go on an intermittent diet with eight hours on and 16 hours off, with no real limitations other than that. I was losing weight and eventually I realized I needed to know what my calories were providing me since I was actually cutting down. I downloaded this app and instantly realized that there was no way I could do without it. It showed me what percentages of protein carbohydrates and fat were in everything that I chose. And scanning any particular food is so easy. I had a scale that was accurate in grams and ounces etc., so I was able to accurately record and see what I was having. I have lost a pound a week for 30 weeks and it’s peeling off easy because I enjoy the food I eat but I also understand that portion control has to be there. I enjoy this app immensely, it’s an amazing sidekick for dieting. It has the ability to leave notes to read articles , recipes, and information about dieting and so much more. I usually don’t rant about any of the apps on my phone and I must have 40 of them, but I will say this is definitely worth having.

I want to love this app!. I have tried several apps and thought that this one might be perfect for what I wanted to use the app for. I needed calorie counting and tracking of percentages of carbs, fats, proteins. I was/am looking to lose weight. I signed up and entered all the required information. I wanted to loose 10 pounds. When I looked at my calorie requirements I saw the app had me at 809 calories which I thought was odd as the other apps I tried out would never allow anything under 1200 calories. I had also been advised by a trainer that that was too low. I reached out and never got a straight answer. I was basically told it was ok. Then after alerting them the app jumped up to a required 1226 I think then that jumped up over 1300 and then all the way up to 1500. I have reached out several times as I really wanted to give them the opportunity to correct what I felt must be a glitch and I never got a solid explanation or resolution. It’s a good counter though so for a free app it’s great. I wouldn’t pay attention to the calorie requirements as I know I will not lose weight at 1300 or 1500 calories. I was willing to upgrade with it working properly however that is not the case. For what it is worth they did not ignore my questions. I think it has potential for sure. I do wish it worked better as I think it would be ideal.

Excellent App for patients, doctors, and everyone in general. I cannot stop saying how amazing is this app. As a physician myself I have never encounter such a complete app where not only one can meet weight loss goals, but do so in a safe manner, with excellent recommendations by expert nutritionists, that above all make sure the process is safe for you, so not to go into dangerous fad diets, unhealthy BMIs. As well, it has been such a learning experience for me to realize how many empty. Añoréis, dangerous amounts of sodium, dangerous fats one can consumed thinking you are eating healthy. It increases your awareness and helps you recognize healthier options in food while filling satisfied. The free app is very good BUT the paid app is unbelievable. I am not one to be spending money as many a times it tends to be a completely useless purchase, not with this! This app is awesome. It is so accurate since you have an option to create your own recipe and it will calculate the nutrients for you by portions. I recommend this to anyone who not only wants to loose or gain weight but to anyone who wants to eat healthier to decrease risks of so many preventable diseases such as diabetes type 2, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease and many more.

Updated review. In a recent update, the devs made is so that you had to view protein, carbs, fat, etc. These were all free prior to the update. Hence the old review below. However, due to the backlash, they have reversed that policy and we now once again have access to protein, fat, carbs, etc. As such, I have revised my review. Old review: I was using this app for about a year. You could view calories, monitor your weight, check your protein, fat, carbs, etc. all for free. It was great. So good that my wife bought the premium subscription. But now they have updated the app so that all that free stuff now requires premium. You cannot do anything other than monitor your calories, weight, and salt intake. This makes the app no longer useful and removes the developers unique selling point over other apps (and there are thousands of them that provide bare minimum features). So, after this update I have uninstalled the app and my wife is canceling her subscription. We will find another app. It’s a shame.

Love this app. I normally don’t review app this is by far the best app I have ever used it helps me track all my food for all the meals and o can put my weight in and it calcalutes what I need for calories since I do intermittent fasting it is so nice the BEST THING is that it is FREE I don’t need to pay premium even though there is a premium subscription option the free option is great for me for what I need to track I love that I can scan any food I want to eat and shows detailed calories, carb etc it is very nice also I can input my exercise as well and it keeps me encouraged by sending me helpful tips, and things of that nature also ways that I can continue to excel on my weight loss so I’m very happy with the developers on this particular app. I think they did absolutely amazing job of putting everything together with the free option, I have to say there’s not a lot of free options out there that doesn’t have a catch or some sort of gimmick with it and I really can honestly say this one does not. Yes there is a premium version, but I don’t need to pay for the premium version, I like free version I will continue to use as long as it’s free.

Love this app!. I’ve never had the desire to track my macros or calories. I’ve been intermittent fasting for 5 years and was looking for an app to track my fasts. I came across MyNetDiary and it had the best features/functionality in the free version. After a few days of using it, I wanted all of the extra features! I never buy apps but this time I did and I have zero regrets. This app has helped me make better food choices and it also revealed I was most likely deficient in a few things like calcium and vitamin C. I love the colorful design and how customizable the dashboard is. I cook everything from scratch and love that I can upload recipes and alter them. I used the custom tracker feature to add a tracker for my fasting hours and can create charts to view those eating windows as well as my longer water fasts. The notes section is essential as well. The video tutorials were extremely helpful that first week because of the extensive functionality and options available.

My Favorite Diet Ap. I have tried so many different diet apps, and this is my favorite one by far. It’s so user friendly/simple yet detailed without being confusing or overwhelming. Plus it is by far the fastest tracker, lightning fast to enter in all your foods/meals. It is also extremely accurate as far as calories, and the data base is huge. The recipes are great too. I had used the free version quite a bit, which is really nice yet pretty basic on its own. (There are absolutely no annoying ads or invasive pop-ups in the free version and it’s a great experience.) I decided to go ahead and get premium though, and am glad I did. I’ve had a lot of success with losing weight and feel really motivated. Not to mention I plan to continue to track most days even after I’m done losing because they automatically adjust everything (calories/any activity) to help you maintain once you’re done. That to me is where I would gain again, was I’d stop being as mindful of tracking once I lost weight so this is very helpful. If I had one suggestion to the developers it would be to possibly add in the ability to implement intermittent fasting into the program if you should choose to. I use another Ap to track my fasting times. It would be great if this combined that option. One example is that it says I “skipped recording calories” for some meals when in actuality I was fasting at the time. This is not that big of a deal, and definitely still 5 stars despite this. It would just be even nicer.

My favorite, I’ve tried many! Down 30lbs in 3 months. This is by far my favorite app for calorie counting, weight loss (or gain if that is your goal!) and being more mindful about my health in general. I’ve tried Noom, Myfitnesspal, and others and although they seems flashier, they are mostly just busier and less focused on what matters, the data. I also felt like the other apps were pushing their own staff written articles on you, their own recipe plans, etc etc. which honestly didn’t work for me and felt a bit inflexible. MyNetDiary is perfect for those who want complete control over their diet and health plan, while also having options for meal recommendations. I think my net diary wouldn’t be a good fit for those who really need guidance around what meals to eat and cook, since in my opinion, there is a lot of self-discipline needed to make this app work. Also, the community forum aspect of the app could use a ton of work. When it works though it works. I’ve lost 30lbs in 3 months and planning to love another 30 in 6 months. 100% would recommend.

My go-to app. I've used this app off & on for about 10 years, mainly when I want to lose weight. I've tried a few others along the way, but this one has an intuitive interface & way more functionality than other apps I've tried. It also keeps improving, which is important to me. CAVEAT: I recently opted to try the premium version so I apologize if I tout something that's not part of the free version. There are so many foods!! I've finally started using the 'staples' section & finally created recipes for the things I make frequently so I can log them as one food, which simplifies the process. Also being able to scan the barcode is super useful. This app makes it really easy & fast to log foods as I eat them. I very much like how it incorporates exercise (also there are so many exercises!) into my calorie budget. It's an excellent incentive to go exercise & to log it. I've also learned a lot from the tips. They written tips are concise & on the main screen. The videos are short but very informative & have links to other topics if you want to explore. Finally, I discovered the Community section recently. What a beautiful part of this app! You can read posts from other users, & post yourself, either to get feedback or give it. There was so much positivity & encouragement, I walked away from it feeling just a little better about the world. Thanks for making such a great app, y'all! And for improving it so much over the years.

Cloud. I have now found out why I have a cloud aerial button unlike most other sites. Please everyone excuse my past review. That was in total lack of my knowledge of understanding how this all worked. As far as this app and the Pro Version they are very good apps. I would highly recommend them to anyone without any sort of diagnosis of diseases. If you have been diagnosed like I have I believe either of these apps would work great but only if you are doing side by side with a certified dietitian. That is where I went wrong again. Doing it by myself was a much to big of an under taking alone. A dietitian can assist in setting things up and get you on your merry way. I do plan to come back to using the Pro Version just as soon as my current dietitian is able to get things set up not for just one diagnosis but two and make sure that everyone plays with each other! Please take my advice and give these apps a thorough try out. You may be be very surprised at your results!

THE VERY BEST HEALTH APP I’VE USED!. Like most people, I’ve used many diet apps in the past to help count, calories, carbs, exercise, etc., ad nausaum. This one is by far the best one I’ve ever ever used. This app tracks anything and everything you wanted to and things you didn’t even think of. It’s easy to use, but there’s plenty of depth to it if you’re after that. I am 73 and have many health issues. I’m able to track all my meds, treatments, diet, water intake, exercise, health conditions, it is great! I think I’ve been using it for about a year and I had used it before and went to another app and came back to this before that. I’m not giving this one up! I recently signed up for the premium subscription and I’m quite happy with that with all the information it gives and all the available help. I have been very neglectful in my food choices and discipline of my diet so I’ve bounced around for about 20 or 30 pounds. Not good but typical. I still am not gonna give up this app because of all the wonderful things that it keeps track of and helps me to visualize. You will never regret putting this on your phone.!

Lots of data. This seems to be a very impressive app with everything it tracks and keeps the user informed of. Will be trying the paid premium service and updating this review after using for about a week. I will say so far though the free version has my 5 stars because: Cost: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ free Ease of use: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ trained monkey🐒 (they even have tips with arrows pointing and explaining things on the screen) Ads: NONE! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Database: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ seems extensive so far. I’m a trucker and so far everything I’ve bought at the truck stops I’ve been able to scan and input the info. Was even able to just type in the low carb burger I got from Carl’s Jr. and all the info popped right up Developers response: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Im always encouraged when I look at the reviews for an app and see the developer actively responding to issues users post about their app. I usually start from “most critical” first to see what issues others have had and what, if any the developer has responded to. I discount personal issues, I’m sorry but if you have an eating disorder (I’m mean most of us probably do whether it’s over or under eating, otherwise why would we need the app 😂) blaming the app instead of taking responsibility for under or over eating is a cop out and just lazy. Seek a licensed professional to help you work through the mental stuff… not an app folks. Like I said, I’ll update this review after I purchase the premium version. Hope this review helps some of y’all out.

Feels better. I Don't usually write reviews, but this just made me want to. Had it for about 2 weeks now and although I haven’t lost much, I feel a lot better. I feel more in control of what I eat and keeping track has helped me in so many ways. Not only do I feel physically better because I’ve been able to look and see what I need nutrition wise, but mentally I feel better too because I’m not worrying if what I’m eating is too much or too little i just can look and know, enough to go to the gym and not feel embarrassed by not really knowing what I’m doing yet (which is silly i ever felt that way because I’m there for me nog anyone else). I’m not a whole lot overweight so I didn't really get this with losing weight being my biggest reason, mostly I just didn’t feel good and knew something was off, I thought I was taking care of myself but seeing my progress physically and mentally over the past two weeks having made some changes based on the tracking this app has provided, I know I wasn't. Im genuinely so grateful for this app and know I’m going to continue to progress as I learn new things about taking care of myself every day!

I’m so dissapointed. This app is only good for counting calories. I initially started losing weight with the Livestrong app. I was 75 years old, and had no illusions for fast weight loss, so I used the free part but it helped me lose around 35lbs. The app went away and I had to choose another calorie counting app so I chose MyNetDiary. I’ve lost maybe 5 lbs since then. My BMI is 25.7 and I would just love to get to 24. I succumbed to your “premium” program…and boy am I sorry. It has taken me to lower than 1200 calories, tried the auto pilot, and it took me lower and lower. I have no idea where the correct formula lies, whether it is my personal activity level, I cook, clean house, garden. I walk my dog in a hilly park two to three miles each morning, and swim (workout sets) 1500 meters 5 days a week, and lift weights 2 days. And I am still gaining weight with the autopilot. I hate seeing starting a 1174, and seeing the calories I’m allowed increase as I go through my day. The extra info that you provide is available on the internet, and the nutrients are available in the apple Heart app. I feel like I was ripped off for spending money on the “premium”. It offers nothing but confusion and no benefit.

Decent, but some annoyances. I like it a lot better than myfitnesspal as that’s just one giant advertisement for underarmor now, and this, while having a pro version, and offering you paid services, does so MUCH less intrusively, actually makes me consider paying for some of them… But before I go that far, there are some annoyances that other calorie tracking apps don’t have. For starters, it doesn’t do particularly well with fast food, which is really important for me to track… The recent Burger King specials like the quarter pound king and big king didn’t show up before they were gone, so I had to look up the calories and manually add them. I use the app to keep me honest about how much fast food I’m eating and that extra hurdle is frustrating. Secondly, the search bar keeps correcting me… trying to type in “Baconator” for example gets to bacon just fine, but then drops the ‘a’ while I’m typing, and if I try to stop myself and retype the a it keeps deleting it, or I can forge ahead and type ‘bacontor’ which doesn’t bring up any results. If these get fixed, great app, if they don’t, still pretty good, would recommend giving it a shot.

Better interface than MFP!. The interface on Minette diary is for superior to MFP. It’s easier to see your entire day in one place and the daily blog and suggestions are more than welcome. The only thing I would say is missing is a section where exercise would be available, which I know would cost more money, but would be an added benefit as an option. The customer service is fabulous with my diary. They are accommodating and friendly, and always willing to help the only downside to my net diary is there are a number of incorrect items in their database; most of the time they get fixed and it’s not an issue. But I feel like the database needs to be come through and duplication after duplication need to be removed that are incorrect. I went back to MyFitnessPal, just because it incorporates an exercise section (which unfortunately after viewing it in premium is not very good.) I still have remaining months on my net diary which I intend to use along with the other but I regret canceling my subscription to my net diary. I’m going to renew it once it comes up again, just so that I don’t lose my grandfathered in pricing. I LOVE MYNETDIARY!!!

So far so good, but having scanner problems on ipad. I want to lose about 10 lbs before my nephew’s wedding this summer, and I always do better if I keep myself accountable for what I eat. So I decided to trial this app as I’ve become disgusted by MFP constantly shrinking features and their exorbitant premium prices. So far I like this one. The user interface is pretty straight forward, though I am still figuring out all the features and which ones are only available with premium. I like that it will let me set my own macros goals, and the food database seems pretty extensive. The only negative I’ve encountered so far is that the scanner feature only seems to work with my iPhone and not my iPad. I can’t figure out why that is the case, but I’ve tried scanning several different items and it doesn’t ever work, but the same item will scan on my phone. I’ll increase my rating to 5 stars if I can get the scanner to work on my ipad. I prefer to enter data, create recipes, etc.. on my iPad because the bigger screen and using my keyboard just makes it so much easier. I also like that their premium plan is more reasonable than MFP. I’ll probably continue to test out the free version for a couple weeks, but if I like it I plan to do their annual subscription.

I’ve Had This App for a Year.... ...and I am still using it every single day. If you need some accountability in your food choices and exercise, this is the greatest app I’ve found for that. It opens your eyes both to how many calories you’re REALLY consuming and to how many calories you’re REALLY burning. Folks, there are no magic pills or potions for weight loss. The bottom line, most effective approach, is simply to expend more calories (energy) than you consume, period, and My Net Diary is a wonderful tool for that. I watch what I eat about 90% of the time and for the other 10%, when I splurge, it’s easy to see how many calories it “cost” me and that number in and of itself is usually sobering enough to get me right back on track with an extra workout and healthier food choices so that I don’t backslide completely (it’s a slippery slope, amirite) and can continue to lose weight. It’s an easy to use app with a potpourri of useful info that I’ve even recommended to my patients, and those who’ve tried it, without exception, have loved it. Highly recommend My Net Diary!

So Easy. I procrastinated using this app. I had tried others but they weren’t as user friendly to me and didn’t track the way I wanted or needed. I thought it would take a week or so to get the hang of using this but it only took a day! I knew I was overeating and since I hit menopause I also knew I couldn’t eat like that anymore. I had gained some weight and wanted to get into new portion control habits and check my macros since entering this new phase of life. What a difference! I lost 5 pounds without trying and have become very aware of all of the “extra” things I was eating, like a piece of chocolate here and there, a handful of peanuts a couple times of day…it really adds up at this stage of my life when it didn’t use to. I already had a scale and it’s become my new best friend and takes no time to use. You can set a reminder dee alarm for water intake, log exercise, etc. You can set your personal plan to adjust your caloric intake when you lose weight so you won’t plateau and so much more! I highly recommend this app!

Simple, Visual, Effective. I’ve been underweight my entire life and have had a lot of health issue because of it. Seeing a nutritionist and having this app have been two of the most effective tools I’ve had on my journey. I’ve had it for three weeks and am now only two pounds away from no longer being critically underweight! I love it because it’s not an overwhelming barrage of precise details for me to enter and see. It’s simple to use and displays my progress in a clear, visual way. At a glance, I can see how far I am on my daily goal and how well I’ve been doing for the entire week. Entering food takes so little time that I can enter it right after eating without any disruption to what I’m doing. The only things I would change about the app is its mindfulness of the user’s goals. I don’t really mind seeing tips on how to loose weight while using the app, but it would be awesome if the messaging changed according to which direction the user wanted the scale move. It would also be great if the app had a “pre-tracking” feature. Sometimes I pack my meals the day before. I don’t know if I’ve packed enough to meet my goals, but I also don’t want to enter them into the app if I haven’t eaten them yet. Right now I’m using a different app to keep track of it separately, but it would be nice if I could keep it in this one, then easily count it as eaten when the time came. Even so, this is a great app, and I’m thankful for it and the progress it’s helped me make.

I just love this app!. I like that I don’t have to pay to use just the basic features which is perfect for me. I like that it gives you recipe ideas if it notices you skipped a meal. I love the way you can easily log or scan in foods and almost all seem to be there which a grade of how healthy the choice you made is...or most importantly- NOT! This helps me to actually learn the right portion sizes and make better decisions on what I’m actually putting in my body. Calories aren’t as important to me because I seem to always lack in that but the food choices I’ve been making or were eating are coming up C’s & D’s. With this app I now pick only A’s & B rated food choices! Maybe a C food choice like 1 chocolate chip cookie if I’ve been good!lol But in following this app you can monitor not only the food your eating but exercising, steps you’ve made, amount of water you should be drinking, etc. you can even choose a body system by joining groups but I prefer not to. I’ve been using this app since Jan 8th and I’ve already lost 6 lbs. I forgot to weigh myself the day I started so my starting weight was actually taken 6 days after starting this diet system. Anyway, love, love this app...super easy to use and it’s really nice keeping up and keeping track of what I’m actually putting in my body! Thanks!!! : )

Both free and premium are good. I think I’ve tried all the meal tracking apps- even some that don’t exist any longer. This is my Goldilocks app. I have a variable activity level from day-to-day and (with premium) I can just carry my iPhone with me al day and the tracker makes sure I’m on point for calories. Logging is faster than any other I’ve tried (and accurate). I like the menu planning. I haven’t figured out how to smoothly incorporate the grocery list. I like that I get a nutrition summary in my inbox with no effort on my part. It was easy to see that, yep, and multivitamin would be a good idea for me. I don’t use the preplanned menus. I am AIP/ lots of food intolerances so it doesn’t work for me. I also am not a snacker, so the existing menus are too fussy. I have grabbed recipes to log with several times. I haven’t cooked with any, but I haven’t seen anything that seems off. (I’m a “retired” chef). I don’t have a lot to lose- around 20 pounds- but I went ahead and paid for a year to keep me on track for maintenance. After that, I’m not sure. Some simple AIP or super basic no-fuss grain free (paleo?) menus would make it worth continuing the subscription. I appreciate the lack of ads and upselling (coming from a trial of a popular app “program”, it is a breath of fresh air).

Really Well-Designed. In general, I HATE apps, but I wanted to lose some weight and this one looked, at least, interesting. But MyNetDiary turns out to be incredibly useful, even in ways I wouldn't have expected. It's really intuitive, and provides an enormous database of both fresh and packaged foods--impressive because I'm gluten-intolerant and eat a lot of pretty obscure brands of bread, etc, and I wouldn't expect that many people would have ever heard of them. Logging what I've eaten is actually kind of fun, and I even do it when I've binged on too many calories and would usually just not bother counting them because I'd be too embarrassed at my lack of self-discipline. And I love the very precise breakdown of all of the nutrients, which is important to me because I'm also a vegetarian (yes, I am a pain to feed!) and now I have a better idea about how to get more protein and various other nutrients that I need because of my weird diet. And tracking my water intake is really helpful, too, as I've gotten a little lax about drinking enough (water!), and now I'm more motivated about that, too. Sorry--long review (I also hate writing reviews, so the fact that I did this one should tell you how impressed I am with this app!). Very soon I should be back to my ideal weight, and probably a lot healthier than I've been in a while (oh, yeah--the app also works with my Apple watch to keep track of my activity and workouts...awesome).

Great app!. I usually don’t write reviews for any apps, but this one is great! I had previously downloaded a similar calorie tracker, but when I discovered this one, I fell in love. It has so many more features compared to other apps on the market and I highly recommend it! It tracks how much weight you could lose per day, per week, and per month. You can also set a goal to lose a certain amount of weight by a specific date. One feature that I would like to see improved upon is the exercise option. I go to the gym a lot and I’m positive doing lots of weightlifting burns more calories. I would like to see more options for exercises we do, such as cable rows, lateral raises, or any other exercise. Along with weightlifting exercises, I think there should be an option to input how much weight you lifted. So far, the only options are to input calories or minutes. Right now, I have to search up how many calories a certain exercise burns, but even the internet can’t seem to agree on it. Lifting more weight burns more calories, and this is a feature other apps do better with than this one. Despite this, the app is a major improvement compared to others.

Can u add... i can’t get into the feature that saves my journal. Please help. Stumped by low protein but at calories limit More sardines? Protein powder. Need more help! What super proteins to eat... Love coach comments. Are my notes. Backed up. Can I save notes on phone as 1 file??? Love this. I have a blood disorder and take Coumadin (Warfarin). Love to have info on K level in my meal recordings oristvofvhi and low K foods. Love this app. Mark advanced info as that? Swimming in info. Ability to put a food choice on Groc list. A place to make a grocery list w prompts from most foods u log. Like coach making recipes. Don’t understand some new diets eg Keto. Go from. Calories to hi protein. Maybe an age comment area fm coach: olders teens pregnant mothers, etc. micro nutrients important butcsay what they supply. Trouble getting near enough protein wo adding too many calories MY MAIN ISSUE! What’s the best foods for this. Don’t understand bar charts. Explain? More emojis to signal where u are in the app. Don’t use recipes. Seems tmi. But like their there. Like alerts on phone. Have scales- me and food. 6 months w o measuring. Send pic for comments. Belly fat etc Love problem food comments. Some charts too hard to read.

THE BEST APP EVER. Two of my friends bet me $200 each that I couldn’t lose 20 pounds by halloween so I downloaded this app and it gave me a motherfreaking PLAN on how to get there ! I’m allowed to eat 780 calories a day without exercise and bee I exercise and I’m healthily staying under with nutritious foods like chicken salad so I’m gonna win that $400 !! 🥰🥰 but that’s not the best part it let me know the iced mocha I make at home everyday is 600 calories !! Oh my god if I kept drinking those I would have only been able to eat 180 more calories to get to my goal and without this app that wouldn’t have happened !!!! So it saved my life !! Now I make my coffee with no chocolate syrup no whip cream and a tablespoon of creamer (30 calories) vs the half a cup I was using before .. 😅😅 and the milk but omg I love this app it’s so much fun and it’s gonna make me win my $400 !! It’s so easy to scan your food and edit the amount and I love that you can put your goal and a timeline and it will give you A PLAN !! Best app ever I owe you guys $400

Helps if you’re honest. Just deducted a star since they seem to be removing features from the free version - no longer see the macro nutrient fat, carb, protein listing under the daily meals - only the summary of the day. For my needs the free version offers all I needed, I can’t justify the cost to subscribe just to see the breakdown by meal. I don’t need any of the extra features of the paid version. I got no major dietary issues to track. Been using the free version off and on for quite a while. Helps me see where I am failing as well as where I am doing well so I can make adjustments to my overall diet if necessary. Over the course of 6 decades living g with heart valve problems, I’ve learned enough to maintain a decent meal plan for my health. But it does help to honestly track meals and snacks for the visual feedback and easier calculations to control fats, carbs, etc. In general, I like the app. I would like to see two improvements - one is an option to copy meals not just from yesterday but from a drop down calendar or other selector - my daughter suggested “Lose It” and I do prefer the way it logs foods and meals for easy reference. Second, I’d like to be able to be able to export the data to csv format or excel file so I could graph values of interest such as my carbs or fats in excel so I could share the data with my doctors.

Perfect app for counting calories. I have access, for free, to another app through work. They’re not big on calorie counting (or data from my phone), which is what works best for me. I’ve tried other apps for calorie counting (MyFinessPal, anyone? Noom?) as well as this one. But this is the one I keep coming back to. I’ve lost 15-20lbs with this app twice: ten years ago, and again 3 years ago. I’m back to lose my pandemic 15. I’m big into numbers and visualizing numbers. I find that even if one number didn’t improve during a certain period, I could always find another that did. This app hasn’t changed much in 10 years, and it doesn’t need to! The pro version also flexes to account for days you walk more. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking primarily to track their calories or another nutrient. That said, tracking calories isn’t for everyone, and I don’t know what it’s like to use consistently for longer than a year or for a larger amount of weight.

I like it BUT there’s two issues. If you have the premium version it was extremely frustrating for me trying to find recipes. I knew they were somewhere, but I couldn’t find them. I figured out they were under the COACH tab which in my opinion would be the last place I looked. That’s the only reason I’m removing a star from the review. I’ll add it back once I see that the recipes are on their own tab or in a more obvious place. I see that as a huge UI/UX flaw that has to have frustrated more than just me. The second issue, another reason I removed a second star. I think the monthly rate of $9.99 is a bit high. Charging people double for a monthly subscription isn’t very classy. People do not like to be forced to buy yearly subscriptions. Monthly on their mind is “safer”. In the end, you’re gonna make more money from the extra customers that sign up. Trust me on this one. Drop that down and find out for yourself. You’re only hindering sales of your app and personally I’m not so sure if I’m gonna keep this app. Pricing is a huge deal for me in regards to how companies treat their customers. Forcing a yearly subscription by charging twice the amount, I don’t know if I can get past that. I’m still on the fence about that.

It's working. I lost 6lbs in a little over a week and I don't exercise! I guess I've reached that point in my life where I can't eat whatever I want whenever I want. I have joined the 21st century and discovered this app, which is much more user friendly than some other ones I have tried. It does all the math for me, which is great. I love how everything is all on one page for a concise overall view of my progress. I love how I can scan barcodes and it immediately knows the product (and if it doesn't, you can add it! If it isn't correct, you can request an update!). I like that I can keep track of carbs. I love that I can input things in before I eat it so I know how many calories I'll be "spending" ahead of time- which makes daily meal planning a cinch. It is also really easy to delete or edit entries. I learned a lot about my habits and that I don't drink nearly enough water. It does take some self control to keep on target, because you will be starving while your body adjusts! I hope to see a way of bundling foods for a specific personal recipe in the future as well as ways of tracking certain specific nutrients, like potassium or magnesium. Love it :)

Keeps me honest. I have lost 39 pounds since I started using this app. I like that I can log in my activity. Tracking foods is easy. I like all the charts & helpful hints. I have health issues & will go back to the gym eventually. But I log all my housework & animal chores. It all adds up. If you eat over your calories do a little physical labor to keep you on target. I have a long term goal & it will take me a year to reach it. My health issues complicate matters but this app keeps me focused & positive. There are also chat groups to encourage one another. No meetings or rigorous exercise required. You just eat less & move more. This app is fun & easy. You can store your favorite foods to make your charting easier. What are you waiting for? Try it! Addendum 3/4/19. I went off program for surgery, rehab from it & for 2018 holidays until today. I’m so disappointed to see that macronutrients & the breakdown of the fats, carbohydrates & protein percentages that are counted as you add your food intake are now gone from the free app. Now you have to pay $8.99 per month to get this additional information. I’ve referred a lot of people to this app but now they will learn what I told them was free is no longer available. Basically now the app just counts your calories. I will purchase the app because I need to get back on track & reach my goal. So I changed my rating from 5 star to 2. It works but now you pay for it.

LOVE this app…and now with intermittent fasting!. Been using this app for years. Used it while losing weight, as well as after reaching my goal to keep track of important nutrients. I use it EVERY day all throughout the day and have come to totally depend on it. Great format, super reliable, with all the features I need……and now they have added intermittent fasting (which is not only helpful for weight loss, but there are also many health benefits associated with intermittent fasting…so a great addition to the app!). I can now get rid of the intermittent fasting app I have on my phone. Through the years the developers have made numerous and regular improvements, and thankfully without removing important functions many users have come to depend on. AND, without moving things around so severely thus causing us to be unable to find functions we’d been using for years (unlike so many other apps, which when they run an update, you’re in a complete state of panic when opening the app after the new update because everything has been totally changed, rearranged and vital functions have been deleted!). So thanks for a great app and thanks for making sensible improvements without causing your users to have a meltdown after each update!

49 down; 23 to go!. After having a baby and breastfeeding for a year and a half, I had gained a lot of weight. Got all the way up to 219. In the past, Atkins/keto diet worked for me but not this time. I had to go back to basics; back to what worked for me in high school... I had to count calories. This app has been indispensable. Most user-friendly layout I've seen. Very complete list of foods and nutritional info. Simple, to the point and so supportive. I've lost 49 pounds so far -- 31 since April of this year -- and I have another 23 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-baby body. Just walking and counting calories consistently has done it for me. Don't think I could have done it without this app. 👍🏽👍🏽 Update 12/19: Another baby and another big gain. This time, I have paid for the premium subscription in order to sync with my FitBit and earn more food calories from day to day. Loving the upgraded features! Once again, when I consistently stick to MyNetDiary’s recommended caloric intake, the weight comes off steadily. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Fantastic app, better in so many ways. I’ve used lots of different nutrition tracking apps over the years when I’m in action phase with fitness (weight loss, lifting, etc). They all will do the basics and at this point in 2023 they are all very good at what they do. This one shines in a few key areas. - The data entry is streamlined. When you are interacting with the app a lot of times a day that helps. - the database is great, and accurate . It’s not full of garbage entries from users - the graphical presentation just makes sense to me. Everything from the apple graphic of calories for the day, to the table that shows macro breakdown per meal based on time (not all snacks for the whole day are grouped together for example) - it’s flexible- I don’t use any of their diets or recipes really but I can configure as I wish - you can use the website too which is good when you want to see reports or work with a spreadsheet or bigger monitor - it let’s you log non nutrition stuff like comments and other things that happen that may effect your health

Not in sync. So I have my "MyFitnessPal" and "Sworkit" app in sync with each other and with my Apple Health app; I tried syncing "MyNetDiary" together with my Health App since it wouldn't let me sync with any other app and I went through with allowing access to my Health App which (AGAIN) synced with "MyFitnessPal" and "Sworkit" and is documented on the Health app; I completed a workout from the app Sworkit and since it's in sync with "MFP" it was documented on MyFitnessPal saying how much calories I burned (Perfect), I went into my Health App it again, showed how much calories I burned and for how long my workout was. I go into MyNetDiary and my exercise box was empty and not showing that I had worked out or anything, not only that, I documented my food on MFP and it didn't even show up on MND. I will say it again if I didn't write it before, MyNetDiary showed that it was in Sync with my Health app and I made sure everything was selected when asked for permission so I don't understand why my workout/exercise didn't show up on MND nor my food until I had to manually type it/search it. Is it because of the other apps being in sync? Is it because I didn't manually insert the info directly from the Health app? Please help me, I used to use MND long ago and I liked it then, if you could please partner up with MFP and Sworkit so I can sync them from the MND app or help me understand why it's not showing up.

Thank you. Thank you so much for making this app. It is amazing. It’s easy to use (almost everything is scanable. I have the paid version. For me it’s worth it, I use it almost everyday. I was able to change my specific nutrient targets (the largest one I count is sodium) and had a 6 pack when I was religiously using that. Now I’m exploring my micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). Since I’ve been tracking what I eat for a while, the app has a record of how much I’m getting of each one. I saw I was only getting about 50 percent of my daily iron intake, and extremely low on selenium and copper! I wouldn’t even be aware of these things if it wasn’t for the app. I got a nice multi vitamin and multi mineral and am focusing on consuming more mineral dense foods. I’m grateful for this app on some many levels. Also, it might not matter to most ppl, but I find this app much more aesthetically pleasing than my fitness pal. In fact I never really got peoples love for my fitness pal. In terms of calorie counting apps I would rate this number 1, Loseit number 2, and my fitness pal after that. Thanks again!

The best calorie counter app I have ever tried. I have tried so many different calorie counting apps and when I have used this app for 1 months and I have already lost 6 kg granted I haven’t been very strict it’s easier knowing how many calories I can eat and as I loose weight it lowers my calories for me it is the best app I have used in a while 10 out of 10 would highly recommend you at least try this app

Love this free app. Easy to use, simple dashboard to track your activity and eating for the day. Had no idea about the calories I was consuming until I started using this, you don’t have to give up the foods you like you can manage the portions and work out your meals for the day, exercise more meals more calories you can consume if you want to. Link it to you smart watch to get your activity levels linked in.

Pros and cons but great app. I was fresh to the whole nutrition and macro counting. I was in the gym a lot and couldn’t understand why I wasn’t putting on weight. This app is fantastic to help you understand what sort of food you need to eat and what is in a lot of foods for a beginner but then once you buy premium it really allows you to dive into serious meal planning and exercise even making sure you have enough water in a day. The guide on different foods and advice is really helpful for improving health as well.

BEST, MOST CONVENIENT & ACCURATE APP EVER!!. For those who wants to track calories but want to do it easily and stylishly, this app is THE GO!! It scans and recognizes almost EVERY barcode of food products and the calories & nutrition values are accurate! I love love love the design, drawings and layout, it's convenient for me to just tap at my fav list and add my staples, also the cute drawings make me want to do it all day long!!! Saying it's a handy app would be an understatement. It saves and analyse measurements and personal info BETTER THAN ANY other tracking apps i've used (which also requires premium upgrade with the least it could provide). If i could give 5000 stars i could.

Pretty impressed. Overall if all the information they are giving you is accurate than I’m pretty pleased with this app! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for and the free version is still just as effective if you’re looking to see what your daily intake of calories, fats all that stuff is. I keep it in my everyday app use and update it either when I’m going to bed or just throughout the day if I am not doing anything. :) 4/5 stars because I’m sure the 5/5 would be with the premium option

iOS health data seems to be timezone shifted?. Fantastic app, but my iOS Health data shows as being performed yesterday, not today. I suspect the data import is likely in a different timezone to that which MyNetDiary is importing it as? Hoping this is either a one-off bug or a bug able to be fixed? Do you have a bug tracker somewhere to report this officially? Thanks. Update: Closing and reopening the app fixes the iOS Health data timezone sync issue. Will keep an eye on it.

Such a great app. I am a big fan of minimising but also of trAcking, which can often mean I end up with 50 apps that all only serve one function. This app is excellent because it can track weight, water, measurements, macros and it syncs with your heath app to auto import exercise. It’s the best health app I’ve encountered and using it allowed me to get ride of around four apps. Would 100% recommend this one. It’s also super intuitive so not to intimidating for people new to tracking macros.

A positive review. I have been using this for about 3 days now. So far this has to be the best food/ calorie tracker on the AppStore. The barcode scan feature is insanely good. Adding your height, weight then being able to chose a target weight you want to reach then the apl gives you a max daily calorie intake to reach your goal is by definition simply beyond perfect not to mention the large display of recipes to chose from for a healthy alternative to the normal junk we all eat is just amazing and like I said I am only 3 days in and I have already lost 2 kilograms and many more to go. I praise the app developers and all that took part in the making of this app.

This app helped me gain perspective. I better understand that I can no longer eat anything I want, and am beginning to be more measured in what I let myself eat. I have become more active and informed using the app and working towards daily ‘green’ benchmarks is actually quite fun. It’s interesting to realise there’s big calorie items that I wouldn’t have thought about in the past that I try to write out of my daily intake. All in all it’s motivating to have daily guidance . I really like the app and would highly recommend it.

Diet coach and new best friend!. I have found this app extremely helpful in setting goals of weight loss. The various hints coaching and tools provide a good education into the nutrient value of the calories you are consuming. I love the daily report and weekly report that breaks down your food choices. I highly recommend this app. At this point I’m only using the free version. The recipes in the paid version lookLike they give good variety.

Absolutely fantastic range of Australian foods. Love the range of Australian foods in the database and it’s super easy to add new items or even add custom meals that you create yourself. Also love that many menu items from restaurants are in the database too which makes it really easy to track my calories when eating out, and again very easy to add new items. The premium recipes are great for giving me food ideas, I enjoy the articles and blog posts, and I love all of the tracking features like being able to see all of my nutrients for the day. The app has a very welcoming and positive vibe to it with little guiding tips and motivation sprinkled throughout. I absolutely love the app and highly recommend it especially for Australians because of the massive range of Aussie foods and how easy it is to use.

Definitely worth it!. For the first time in a long time I’m actually losing weight this app helps me keep track it gives me ideas for recipes and if I find a recipe online I can import it and it will calculate all the kilojoules. I always thought I had to buy some sort of meal plan and pay for the food because I wasn’t sure how much of it I was eating but this app tells you everything you just have to buy scales for your food.

Good, even without paying. I downloaded this months ago to help me with my weight gain journey, and to have a visual representation of how much I need to eat to keep myself healthy. The calorie count has really helped me to ensure I push myself to eat that little bit more and healthier so that I have enough to reach my weight gain goal, as I am currently underweight. Something that would be nice, however, not really necessary, is language changes for user trying to gain weight opposed lose it. Even though I have it logged that I’m trying to gain weight, I still get pop up and little note for weight loss advice.

Really good. I had been putting on a lot of weight for 6 months (from 78 to 86kg) and I knew I was eating a lot, but I hadn’t realised how much my eating habits changed until I logged everything I ate for a few day. Over 10k kj a day so since that week I’ve been on a deficit and it’s worked really well. I’m not good with diets and eating healthy but I lost 2 kg in 3 weeks and I’ve made so much progress that the goals had updated and were pushed forward 4 months (I like that feature). There are some things that you need to pay premium for, but if you’re like me, and don’t find it too difficult to lose weight , you should be good without premium. 4/5 because I wish there was more stuff you could find when you logged your food. I often go online to find and calculate my calories, since I don’t really do exact measurements.

Love this app. This app is visually appealing and engaging. I can't rave enough. I upgraded to premium so I could get step bonus and import my recipes from my Recipe Keeper App or online recipes. I love to fiddle with the recipes to get portions to suit my family and my goals. I've been using the app for a month and have lost 3.4 kg. Only annoying thing is the plethora of items in the database that are repeated and/or incomplete. For example, Coles lite milk is in the database 5 times. Another example is Special K where I noticed that the entry I chose did not have fibre and since I am watching that closely in order to manage diverticular disease, it matters. I had to find another entry that did have that data. It responds well to bar codes although sometimes they are completely wrong so always double check the label for portion size and cal/kj to make sure.

Best App ever. I downloaded My Net Diary today to find it’s the best FREE Calorie counting App out there. I started my weight loss journey in May this year and I have lost 24 kg to date. I have tried other apps which were not what I wanted but kept them to track weight loss without calorie counting. I will use this new app to maintain my weight. I recommend this program whole heartedly. Thanks for such a wonderful App.

OMG Everyone needs this. After using this app for a nearly a week I am the happiest i have ever been. For a long time. Have suffered from depression and being overweight, but since using this app, i enjoy eating much more as i now know how much to eat and what to eat to stop me overeating. And user friendly, OMG yes. I am now loosing weight and have never felt better and its only been a week. I’ll post another review in a few months with an update and be rest assured, i am highly recommending this app to all my friends and facebook followers. Thank you again God Bless from M’Lady Caroline (and yes my title is real)

Highly recommend. Been using for a few months now, although I had a lapse during Christmas by eating too much unhealthy food 🤣now I’m back on track. It’s a very user friendly app, the design just looks so comfortable and convenient to use. Love the new intermittent fasting function. I have been doing 16:8 for a while, and been using other app. Now I can just use everything in one! I suggest intermittent fasting can have more info on the dashboard, such as at what hours your body is doing what, like BSL is stable, burning fat, DNA 🧬 recovery etc, encouraging people to keep going Well done team! Keep up the great work!

Diet success. I have never had more success with combining diet and exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle than when I routinely used this app to monitor my food intake. I lost ten kilos over 10 months. I have always been good at getting the exercise I need, but I also overeat so this app helps keep the diet side accountable. The free version gives me everything I need in order to maintain accountability and I’m back because I started gaining weight without the accountability the app offers. I’m very grateful to the apps developers.

Easy to use and keep updated. It has been easy to use this app and to remember to update it with widget that lives on my Home Screen. The different trend charts are helpful to better understand food choices, macros and weight loss progress. Lots of tips along the way. Have used similar apps before but feel this has given a better user friendly experience for a lower subscription cost.

Fantastic app! And I’m only on Day 2 …. I’ve been looking for a good calorie / kilojoule app for SO long. Finally discovered it yesterday in this app. It’s so well organised, the tech is right up to date - I love that I can scan my food in (and really like the set out/ emojis of, eg: food like sushi 🍣 ☺️). I can also enter my exercise and see how I am tracking. I have a good deal of weight to lose but the app has set out how I can do it over the next 10 months. I bought the year deal - worth every cent! Thank you ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😀

Best food logging app. This app is a game changer for food logging. It is accurate (mostly), so easy to log food and has so many stats and figures for the data lovers (such as myself). Ive already lost 0.7 kg in a week from logging food as it has raised my awareness and knowledge about calorie intake. Also love that it does you all the macro and micro ingrediants. There are many more features than the free food logging apps that make this a fun and informative app. Highly recommend.

Sooo much better than MyFitnessPal!!!. Words cannot describe how much I rely on this app. This app holds me accountable and is so easy to use. I tried MyFitnessPal before this and find this app so much more reliable and accurate. This app also has specific items to Woolworths/coles which is amazing as MyFitnessPal had very little variety in terms of their food data base. This app is worth the small fee every month. 100% would recommend. The only tiny thing that I dislike about this app is that your BMR is not optional to change. I had a dexa scan done and the scan does not match the BMR on the app. However, still the best app none the less. I love the macro tracking as well as the barcode scanner!!! Love love love this app!

Bad maths but useful nonetheless. Love that you can create recipes (and now weve worked out how to share to other family members this is great!), scan barcodes, easily add your regular items not in the system, its smart crowdsourcing! Like the addition of orange days instead of just green or red because red for 2 calories over made you feel bad about it. But the maths is always wrong. It sets me a calorie deficit each day say 500, and the dashboard tells me how many i have left to eat and still reach that deficit, ie 250… so you would assume the daily deficit would be sum of those 2 numbers. But when you switch to analysis that number is out by as much as 300 calories some days! Makes it hard to be confident you are reaching those goals as you arent sure where the maths has gone wrong. Ive tried explaining to support with photos but they dont seem to understand the issue and each app update the amount it can be out changes. 50 calories isnt so bad but 300 is a lot.

Yes!. I knew my eating habits were not great, and now I understand exactly how I’ve been eating all the wrong things thinking I was ok, yet I was missing huge amounts of what I actually needed! The premium version is worth every penny. In 2 days I’m already swapping foods that felt healthy for foods that actually have the nutrients I need! All carbs, no protein: no wonder I had no energy! It’s fun, informative, encouraging, and beautifully designed. Easy to use, and I’m still discovering new areas to explore inside the app. 3 days in, and I’ve blown past every nutrition goal set - completely eye opening to log my regular eating and see how far wrong I was! Day 3, I’ve got balanced meals planned all day and a little left over extras! Wish me luck ☺️ Awesome app. Thank you to the creators: you’re helping a lot of people 🙏

Excellent. I’ve been using this app for years. I don’t know what happened to my other review but I love how it lets me calculate calories and exercise. It co-Insides with the health app on the iPhone. I use this all the time, I had to stop for awhile because I developed an eating disorder. Not because of the app just because of a dark time. Anyway most of the food comes up. If not I can type it in. With the calories etc. I won’t pay for it just yet but it’s very handy. It’s like my own personal pedometer.

One request. Great app - really happy with it - just have one request: It would be great when viewing the chart of weight loss you could hide the stars that give the percentage of body weight lost. I like to see them, it’s just when I zoom out on the chart to see my overall progress the stars get in the way a little. If they could appear and disappear in a similar way to when you tap on a specific date that would be perfect.

Fantastic App - best one I’ve used for macros. Excellent app, perfect for tracking food intake, macros breakdown, activity. I love how it allows you to add all the ingredients into your own recipe or meal when making food/ meals at home from scratch, it also allows you to then measure by grams instead of serving which is so helpful. You can also customise your macros which is brilliant. Also if you are a diabetic you can track glucose in food etc ... so many different tracking variations.

Great app. Love the all features very easy to follow and it’s quite addictive too. When you about to pass your daily calorie budget it makes you to do more exercise so you can finish your sandwich without worrying. But only thing I can suggest that the logging some exercise as sets and reps instead of time. If there is a option I couldn’t find it yet, but if not I believe that would be more accurate calculation than the time logs. Everyone is different some ppl can do 5 sets in 15 minutes and some can do 3 sets in same time.

Amazing App! Great in both free and premium!. I have never reviewed an app before! But my god! This app is fantastic! The free version provides a new user with more then enough to get going, to track and to even content create! I upgraded to the premium version today! Very impressed with the extra data that you get to analysis! Well done on such an amazing app! I would love to suggest one additional feature that would be an amazing option for premium users - optional extra meals slots 💁🏼‍♂️ this would suit anyone who eats more then the standard 3 meals and snacks per day.

THE BEST APP EVER!!!!!!. I’ve spent 3 years, losing 43.2 kilos, part from hard work and part from my Bariatric sleeve surgery. I’ve suffered with anaphylaxis, due to Volatile intolerances and recently put on medication that has made me gain 15.5 kilos. I found a dietician that has helped me with direction and knowledge of my allergies and also wanted me write everything down. I found our App and it looked great, after 1 hour of reading what your App did and then reading on what it could do, if I paid for the upgrade, what it could do - I didn’t hesitate spending the money. I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT WITH AN APP!!!!!! I feel I should get a selling fee, as I’m constantly telling everyone at work, how amazing it is. I lost 1.45 kilos in 3 days and tomorrow, I will be sending my PDF to my dietician of everything I’ve eaten and what I need to add to my diet as you guys have thought of everything, to allow my dietician to help me.

Results speak for themselves. Absolute banger of an app. Allows to me to keep progress of my daily intake whilst improving on how I can eat. The app is really intuitive, meaning easy to use. Keeps you informed of your caloric intake, whether the food is rated “A” for good or “D” to eat moderately of. Rating scale has been really beneficial. Trying to lose weight? The app will inform you of how much of a caloric deficit you’ll need to maintain (usually 500 calories than what you would usually eat in a day) and how you can achieve this. Hesitant when I first used it but can’t imagine life without it. Trying to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle? Look no further, “MyNetDiary” is the app for you! Enjoy your healthy future amigos 🤘

Best app ever!. I finally feel like I’m in control of my weight and my health. I love that I can scan barcodes and easily calculate the calories of each meal. Everything is easy to use, and for someone who is technically challenged, that’s a true compliment! I love how logging exercises gives me a larger calorie budget, so I feel rewarded after doing exercise with a little extra snack. I’ve lost 2.5kgs in two weeks and have not felt hungry once. I’m excited to fit back into my summer wardrobe before Christmas. I couldn’t be happier with this app💚

If your looking for a life style change not a diet.. I have struggled with diets and my weight for manny years. I been keto and vegan lol. This app is easy to use. I am becoming more mindful of what I eat. I’m making better choices and even I a day I go over my limit, I go back to better choices the next day so I feel like it’s balances out. No longer feel guilty or failure. If I want to eat the dam cake I eat it and then just make healthy choice the rest of the week Or just a smaller option portion size. Every thing in moderation including moderation.

Great tool to help you lose weight. This is a brilliant app. Very easy to use and has really helped me to lose weight. Food and exercise tracking are so easy. The food library is also great for Australian users as it contains many foods we get here. Love the bar scan facility too. I have been using this app since 15 Feb 2017 and have lost 15 kg over 5.5 months. This app helps me to see what I've consumed and then to make sensible decisions about how much food and exercise I need to meet my overall goals. Highly recommend this app to anyone who wants an easy way to track kilojoules/ calories.

Great, Easy and Always Improving. Any nutrition tracking app is going to be an intrusion on your day, especially if you like cooking. To do it well, (and if you don’t the don’t bother at all as you’re just self deluding) requires time and effort. But having used My NetDiary on and off for several years I am impressed with how much effort they’ve put in to making it slick and easy to use. The barcode scanning was a big step, and direct import of recipes is great and can only get better. ( I love cooking but why don’t they always tell you the nutrition info?). Automatically importing vitamins and minerals from supplements is another big step. The best results for me come from using it like a game, what if I put dinner into MND before I make it, then adjust quantities and ingredients to ensure I finish the day on target. Informative and kind of fun. So it’s less fiddling and more insight into what you’re actually eating, and I’m down 15lbs, learning and enjoying the trip. Improvements? Blood glucose/ketone ratio tracking as standard. AI driven suggestions to manage nutrient deficiencies within macros. kJ or Cal numbers when sending food photos for inclusion in the database . Team up with a Bluetooth scale company for even faster data input.

AAA+ Highly Recommend. Just WOW 🤩 I’ve trialled a number of meal tracking apps, including “popular” apps that get a lot of promotion. I would rate the accuracy of this database way way above similar apps. I especially love the extent to which it tracks micronutrients. It actually populates the micro nutrient fields, accurately! Makes MyFitnessPal appear as though it was created by the work experience kid! The scanner is uber quick and the format is very user-friendly. A bonus is the visuals, which are even more impressive when accessed via the web. Overall, MyNetDiary blows other meal planner/tracker apps out of the water. Definitely deserves 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Desperately needs metric conversion. This is a great app but obviously focussed on the American market. As an Aussie I find the lack of metric conversion in the recipes in the premium app a major problem. America also has a different way of measuring blood sugar levels which makes it useless for Aussie diabetics trying to track their blood sugar level through the dashboard. There might be a way of changing the settings in the app but it is not obvious if the option exists. If you are going to charge a premium subscription for the premium app then it needs to be easier to be more user friendly for users from other countries that use metric measurements. I won’t be renewing the premium app at this point.

Awesome App. This app is great. The free version has a lot of functionalities and you can use this app without upgrading to premium, not like most apps. It has pretty much all foods to select from and you can scan a wide range of foods to upload. Excellent to track calories, but also carbs, protein, fat, weight, exercise, water, etc. Supper easy to use and is helping me drop weight. Highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to loose weight, track calories or optimise eating habits. If you are considering downloading this app than do it. You will love it.

HARD TO FAULT. I started with the free version, which honestly gave me everything I needed - particularly for the first few weeks. This is a great example of an intelligent, intuitive app. I love that it brings up recent/last food searches first, and then has the serving size you used (in the past) as the first option. I’m now on the premium version and the recipes and “menus” are next level amazing. Beautiful photography/styling, plus you can easily adjust number of servings in each recipe, as well as get the ingredients in grams. Would give this app six stars if I could!

Please add something for periods. Your menstrual cycle increases your metabolic rate, which is the amount of energy you expend while at rest. The weeks leading up to your period, you actually burn more calories than any other time of the month. I always end up starving the week before or I end I feeling terrible when I go over the budget. If this could be added and the budget be adjusted to the difference phases of the cycles this would be amazing

Accountability Plus. I love this app! I’m 29 days in…. • It keeps me accountable • it makes me think about what I eat, and USED to eat. 🤪 • it has so many features, so is fun to use • I love the photo feature. Just looking back at the beginning is a great motivation • Love the tips and recipes Definitely worth the initial monetary outlay - it really has everything I need to help me stay on track and hopefully reach my goal. Now 39 days on and am going great. I really do love this app. It has become an easy part of my daily routine now and not only keeps me aware of food intake but also my movement through the day. Brilliant!!! AND DOWN 5 kg so far!!!!

Reining in my bad habits. Have found the app great Being able to visually see how I’m going each day and over time. Keep me motivated and accountable The visual goal keeps me on track, love seeing the sled move also the total unused kj behind the Home Screen Not sure why the slide down is only temporary? It would be nice to get an acknowledgement or congratulations from the app once you reached your goal after putting so much work into getting there. I learnt about kJ and food staples. Potato, pasta & rice Carbohydrates, most of all the effects of alcohol and the extra eating habits that go with it. Have give up drinking for now which is have a big effect This is the third time I’ve used the app to help me control my weight, I learn more find it easier each time Well do MyNetDiary

Great for keeping on track with weight loss. I’m now in my early 40’s and have never dieted in my life. I decided to lose a few kilos but had no idea what to do as I love my food and I’m not keen on a restrictive diet to lose weight. My first day to diet was awful as I had no idea what to eat and ended up very “hangry” by 5pm. I found MyNetDiary and started to use it on day 2. It allows me to track my food, Water intake & exercise and I’ve created some great new healthy habits. I’ve lost 4kg in the first 2 weeks which I’m proud of.

AMAZING APP JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. I have tried other apps and completely India’s this app I know was made by somehow who tracks themselves most apps offer the same standard things but this app has some great unique features: you can combien ingredients to make meals which you can just tap to add all the ingredients at once, it has all of your recently added things so if your diet is consistent tracking is extremely easy, it has a MASSIVE catalog and if your item isn’t their you can make food profiles and customise all of the macros calories and micronutrients, and even if something is not there you can photograph the food not in the catalog and request it to be added the only con is that the free version doesn’t provide you with a macronutrient total which some other apps did

Best App Ever!. I was looking for an calorie counting app that had a lot of bells and whistles. This one ticks all the boxes. I paid for Premium and love love love all the features. A year’s cost of Premium for this app would only give you 2 months on WW here in Australia. Love that it has heaps of Australian foods. Love the Create A Meal and putting in your own recipes, plus the custom foods. Love all the extras. You will not be disappointed with this app. 10/10 from me.

Have lost 10% already and 5% body fat. With a good selection of foods (including from Australia) and easy adding of foods that aren’t in there as well as integration with Apple Health for exercise calories burned, it makes it really easy to accurately keep track. The app elegantly analyses data and presents in a simple way to help stay motivated. The app will only work if you track everything that you eat, but this is easy to do and so worthwhile. It really helps to “budget” food intake - making it possible to enjoy a night out without being “that person” on a diet. I’ve found that I’ve lost about a kg and 0.5% body fat each week for the last 6 weeks. Humour the app and follow its guidelines and you will be rewarded. While it took a bit of getting out of the habit of massive portion sizes, I haven’t felt hungry of deprived. I’ve found it great for raising my awareness of the calories in some foods. You can integrate with Apple health - for both calories burned, steps, but also body weight / fat if you have scales that can do that. That way you have one centralised place to track everything.

Excellent. Love this app I’ve used it in the past without premium and lost 20kg. Unfortunately covid hit and eating without exercising became a problem Back on track again using the app, this time I purchased premium and seeing positive weight loss and with clinical easy to read articles to help focus mind on not eating incorrectly. In hindsight I wish I had purchased premium first time round, I may not have lasped and put on the weight again

An excellent platform. I’m finding MyNetDiary to be an excellent platform to record all that I eat during the day. As I am endeavouring to reduce my weight- I have found that recording what I eat and drink, a good strategy. MyNetDiary also has many helpful articles to support healthy eating and good exercise. Even without using the premium option, this is helpful- and it is obvious that by using premium , many more options and facilities are opened up.

Favourite calorie & water tracking app. I recently started back taking care of my health and fitness. I have to credit this app for really helping me through my weight loss journey. I love using the clean interface on the app and I track my calories and water intake easily. There are widgets and shortcuts that I am using daily. It has been the best calorie counting app I’ve used to date. I would highly recommend the app 👍🏻

Scammed. I had bought a subscription for this app and it had said that I could cancel any time right but I couldn’t get my money for at least the months that I didn’t use it for back

So handy. Very happy with the versatility and information on this app! Highly recommend.

Love this App. So much to offer, not just tracking your macros and nutrition, calorie intake but awesome recipe ideas. Takes some time to learn what it offers but once you do, you’ll love it!

wish there was more functions for weight gain. One of the best nutrition apps I’ve had this app for years, but alike most once it goes to the subscription model it loses what attracted people. you have to pay for premium just to see units in celsius…lol in the end I just end up tracking macros on my own. the barcode feature is amaze. My feedback: 1) Simplify/cleanup the layout. 2) Diversify use of the app for people who are underweight and use it for weight gain, people trying to just improve nutrition (not just for purpose of weight loss) :)

Needs more calorie tracking reasons.. I want to track my calorie intake for breast feeding to ensure I’m eating enough to maintain milk supply and this app doesn’t allow that.

Love this app. Honestly never follow through with tracking apps , this one on the other hand is my absolute favourite it tracks all your macros scans and even the ai feature is accurate

My favourite by heaps and bounds. I used about 3-4 calorie counting apps before I found this one. WOW. Don't need to pay to scan barcodes, super easy to use and user friendly. Motivated every day to put my numbers into this app. Very well done.

Great app. It does the job well.

So many options. I really like this app. It helped me so many different part of my healthy life style and not just calories.

Love it. Very friendly app for counting calories

This app is exceptional. Due to a medical condition I am severely underweight and I am trying to safely gain weight. MyNet Diary is one of the only app that lets you set a target weight as a higher weight. I appreciate the nutritional grades given to the food items and the breakdown of nutrients not just calories. My nutritionist approves! It is a great way to keep me accountable and encouraged. I’ve recommended it to others for weight loss as well as weight gain.

Used to be good.. Charts no longer useful. After about 6 years of using this app, we can’t pinch/zoom the charts anymore. This was the one feature that made this app better than other diet trackers.

Excellent. So much engineering went in to this app. I love it.

Great but too expensive. This app is amazing but I refuse to pay $85/year or $12/month to keep track of what I'm eating and the calories I'm burning now if this was a 1 time fee of like $30 ok or even $1-$2/month if that was the case I would give it 5 stars

Love this app. Easy to use and keeps me accountable. The recipes are tasty and easy to make and log. ❤️

I have been using for a few weeks. I find it easy to track my food and like the GPS to track my walking. It really helps me decide appropriate foods and portions.

This app is awesome!. I’ve been using the app for sometime now. It is easy to navigate, and I love the grading system on food. I know right away whether it’s ABC etc.. this is just one of the features that helps me on my journey. Also, the price is fair. It is less expensive than some of the more popular programs out there, but I find it superior to the others.

Amazing. This app does have a premium feature but it’s completely useable without. I lost 93lbs without premium because it’s an exceptional tracker it keeps track of your main macros like protein, fibre, calories, salt, even water intake, etc. if you are looking for a app to help you along with your weight loss journey this is the one. I’m going to use this to help myself lose another 30lbs

Will always use this. Amazing app, no ads, helped me lose over 70 lbs. 100% usable without purchasing a membership, but definitely helps to have one. All your fitness goals are doable with the free version. I have used this app since 2021 and have had 0 problems with it.

Great layout and features. Love the app so far, it combines all my favourite features, ai meal scan is awesome, tracks all nutrients/micronutrients, articles with no adds, you can import receipts from the web, the lay out shows my steps and calories on the same screen.. tracks my protein for the day. 10/10 would recommend

Details. I love being able to read about all the little details that make up my daily intake. This helps me plan out my next meal. I am also doing intermittent fasting so I need to be more mindful of what I’m eating.

Awesome app. Amazing app very easy to use

Nutrition. I like this app because it is teaching me how to read labels and I didn’t even know it. I check my daily nutrition report every day and try to get to the targeted goals. Now when I grocery shop I am really starting to understand the labels and how they will help me reach my nutrition goals, or hinder me.

Really the best app out there if you track your health. Nothing to complain about. I’m thrilled with the few reminders to track weight and food and happy with the ease of use of the interface, the calorie and macro accuracy and the encouraging weekly summary via email. Keep it up!

In love with this app. Perfect on my calorie deficit journey It’s the best

NetDiary. Love the premium app so helpful and easy to use

Great app!. Follow it, and you’ll lose weight. Great value.

Finding things in the app. I love this app, but the one thing I wish there was is an icon to search (magnifying glass) categories and topics with links to bring you to the page. For example, I’d like to search “blood pressure” and have a link come up that takes me to the page where I can input my stats. I find that with each new update and as things get added and changed around it’s hard to remember where to find things.

it’s the best diet app. used it for years. it’s the very best. helps me daily. my friend diet coach!

Great app. Clear... concise ... easy to use... and now very colourful

Great choice for beginners!. I've been using this app for months now, it's very easy to search or scan food to log and to add in your own items. It's quick and easy to use and helps me keep track!

Liking the ease. App is fairly easy to use

Working well !. Down 16.5 lbs in 7-weeks. Eating what I want, learning great new recipes and finding it easy to plan for special events and still be successful on my plan. Upgrade to the full version - having your AI photo buddy is a life saver when you’re out and about.

Best App. Really makes me work at a healthy eating plan. I love it

It amazing. I really like it but I think we can make it even better. Adding fasting times would really help. I think this app it great and I in love. I wish I can buy a one time subscription not monthly. I wish the creator can do something about it

So awesome!. This app ticks all the boxes and is nicely affordable. If I could rate it 10 stars, I would. So user friendly and provides TONs of useful feedback

Amazing!. Love the barcode scanner helps a lot to find certain brands! Everything else works well and if you accidentally track the wrong Day there is a tab to move everything over🙏🏻 4 star rating because i wish it would track protein in another section

Lost weight. Helped me lose weight from 85.2kg to now 73.5kg and I’m still going to 65. It has an ai that adjust your calories overtime

Best app!. Just the best app ever!

Better than competing apps!. This app has so many free features to help you stay motivated. I love that you can customize your dashboard! And the barcode scanner is so helpful when tracking foods. Not to mention the foods they have on the search are always accurate. As for the premium options, I like the fasting tracker so I can have all my goals in one app. And I love that they added options for people with medical conditions like diabetes and options for dietary preferences like keto!

Best weight loss app ever. This app has helped me lose 18 pounds already and am much fitter and slimmer then before

Under Eater. You need to add a diet for people who under eat, and one for menopausal women. I am not fat and need to lose menopausal belly weight. I also struggle with under eating and getting enough protein during the day.

Deceptive paywall— watch out for recipes. Creating a recipe is free. But if you want to edit it to fix an error? That requires a paid premium account. Sneaky and deceptive. I don’t trust this company any more. I don’t mind paying for features in apps, but to put half a feature behind a paywall, WITHOUT TELLING YOU UP FRONT that editing costs money, is disrespectful to your customers. Update: you don’t have to put in the app description. Just put all the recipe functions behind the paywall, OR tell the user when they make it that it isn’t free to edit. Or put it on your website where you have literally all the room you want. These are excuses. Seriously I have been considering subscribing but as soon as you pulled this trick I realized you disrespect your customers. It crosses the line from offering added value to manipulation. It’s just skeezy and people should be warned. So don’t get up on your high horse about “language.” Treating potential customers this way is such a bad look. Responding to customer concerns by saying that my concerns are invalid is EXTREMELY bad. You literally said I was wrong in your customer support response! Meanwhile I just paid for FatSecret premium because they don’t treat me like a liar. Thanks, have a great day.

Stop with the ads, already!. I bought this app when you could still buy an app end of, instead of being bled for monthly payments. Now, though I bought the @&$!@ thing I am buried in ads whenever I use it. I will never subscribe so the ads are just relentless irritations. I’m wondering if this app serves any purpose beyond what you can do with a piece of paper and a pencil and without a subscription.

Weight graph. Difficult or impossible to find the weight graph . US type foods mainly , not much European cuisine available. Short on Canadian as well.

I LOVE THIS APP!. (update: May 6, 2025) I’m still loving this app) I am on the 2nd day of my free 7 day trial and am so happy that I found this app. It was marked as one of the top TEN food tracking apps and to me it is #1. I have tried many Diet/Food Tracking apps and this is by far the BEST. I am not getting paid for this review. I am just very excited about what it can do. I hope this app is around for a long time!!!

Amazing. Love it. Easy to use and helps keep me accountable.

Fat Bastard. Excellent way to lose weight track macros…

Pas acheté et facturé. Aucun avisé d’achat.. Pas acheté et facturé. Aucun avisé d’achat.

First review ever, but had to. Free version is great and all you need. I upgraded because app was awesome. Finally found motivation to track what I eat. Makes it really easy to track short term and long term. Syncs with my Apple Watch and Apple health.

Genuinely Impressed :D. I’ve used a few nutrient-tracking apps before, this one absolutely takes the cake. The dashboard is very customizable, and using this app helped me gain a better intuition for nutrient intake. Its easy to use — there’s a built in barcode scanner so you can make sure you’re tracking the *exact* foods you ate. If you get stuff from Walmart it’s practically guaranteed the app will know what you’re scanning. It’s absolutely worth it for the small amount of money per month, too. You get a bunch of recipes!! I try to eat Mediterranean, and I can find specific recipes for that diet in the app (same for if you eat vegan, vegetarian, keto, low-fat, whatever). This app takes a lot of mental burden off me when it comes to making sure I’m getting my nutritional needs. If I had any nitpicks, it’s that when you scan in a brand-name food (say: Birds Eye brand frozen broccoli), it doesn’t always increase certain nutrients. For example, I know frozen broccoli has vitamin K, but because vitamin K isn’t listed on the Birds Eye bag, the app doesn’t increase my vit K intake. It will keep track of the overall calories, the fat, the carbs, and whatever’s on the label… but the label often leaves out base nutrients I know are there! The only way around this is using the app’s built in data base of generic foods. So instead of 2 cups of Birds Eye broccoli, I’ll log 2 cups of generic broccoli. Then it’ll recognize I ate lots of vitamin K! But other than that, it’s kind of a perfect app!

A great daily food log!. I began using MyNetDiary a few years ago, then took a break, enrolled in Noom for a few months, then when returning to MyNetDiary and realized how perfect this app is! My philosophy in using MyNetDiary is to target a total A- rating each day for the day total. Each meal should be A- and snacks, although these may total B+, should not result in the daily total being A-. These goals are especially handy when for whatever reason, travel, etc., result in an unusual choice of breakfast items, etc. You can then use MyNetDiary to see if a serving of low-fat cheese or a couple of boiled egg whites will bring you back to an A- rating for the meal or snacks. Targeting all 3 meals at an A- rating is a great strategy. This results in having high quality protein, veggies and/or fruit and small amounts of quality carbs, ideal for either weight loss or maintaining your ideal weight. If I sound like a fan of MyNetDiary, I would say that I am absolutely a devotee! Try this app, you will love this!

The BEST app for calorie counting and weight management.. This app is AMAZING. You are able to log all your food items, all you do is type what you ate and it will pop up a bunch of options of stuff that other people have logged or that they added by default. If what you’re looking for isn’t there, you can add it!! They also allow you to add how much water you’ve drank each day, and add the calories you’ve burned from exercise back to your daily budget! The last awesome thing I’ll mention is the app will let you plug in your weight now, and make a plan for how much you’d like to lose per week, then it will give you a calorie max along with a projected date of when you will reach that weight!! This is just of the tip of the iceberg. You get all this and a LOT more without premium, but with premium you can access personal diets and exercises along with the “coach” option. All in all, this is the best app if you’re looking to count calories and lose weight.

Thank you!

I lost 50 Lbs with this app—and have kept it off for over three years. THANK YOU, DEVELOPERS for making this app! About four years ago I finally realized my instincts for judging food calories were basically idiotic. I started weighing high-calorie-density foods and needed an app to track them. This app gave me a daily estimate based on BMI to shoot for, and I deliberately aimed for a slow, steady decline over a 6 month period with the goal of going from obese to normal range. It was basically painless to lose the weight and I never felt seriously deprived. The app allowed me to have eyeballs on the whole process, to keep track at every step, to correct for exercise days, and to encourage me throughout the whole journey. After hitting my target, I continue to weigh the highest calorie foods and I estimate everything else, and the app makes both processes super easy. I’ve never needed anything but the calorie functions, so I’ve only used the free version (but I’d happily pay to remove the upgrade notifications). I’ve also tried to “pay” the developers back by updating the database with new nutritional data when I come across a rare example of a food that’s not on the app’s radar. In short, this application has literally helped save my life! I feel like I got 10-15 years back, I take stairs in twos (because I can!), and I can do many, many things I never thought I’d be able to do again.

One of the best calorie tracking apps out there!. I used to use My Fitness app a long while ago & thought it was pretty good for what it could do. Resuming my health journey, I picked it up again but found some of the free features I used were no longer available. I researched the different apps & reviews for them & came across My Net Diary Calorie Counter. This app is just what I needed, and more! You receive a limited # of free food scans - so don’t use them up - but they do have a sizable library of foods & brands already in the database. You can create custom foods & recipes that will help load the portion sizes, calories, & nutritional content. You can set your weight loss goal & it gives a helpful visual of calories consumed, you’ve gone over, & adjusts your target weight loss date depending upon your calorie consumption trends. In working towards your target weight loss date, you can set a specific date, calorie consumption, or one other way & the app will adjust based on your selected option. You can also take photos in the app to help you see your progress. What I also really like about this app is it gives you a snapshot of your nutrient intake. For free you can see the basics: carbs, protein, fats & a few others. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the functionality of this app. I usually don’t pay for apps because I rarely find the need to do so, but what I’ve experienced on the free side & how it’s helped me to be more conscientious & consistent with building healthy habits, I think I may this time. I really like this app & highly recommend!

DO NOT BUY full year!!!. Do not purchase the full year!!! I always somehow accidentally choose the full year pricing when I only want to do the free trial and then weekly/monthly payments. I could not afford the yearly lump sum when I knew I wasn’t going to use this every day. Not in $60+ out and have to use it to make it feel worth it. I tried 2 times to get a refund through Apple and was declined. I want to reach out to the company but idk if they’ll do anything to help. I would appreciate my money back and I would have done a trial and a monthly subscription instead of a full year. MENTAL HEALTH check! The part that really irritates me is that there’s a super helpful (or so it seems) quiz to take before you enter the app and you’re screened for an eating disorder and then… there’s nothing on the app to prevent the negative self image/worth issues. Nothing really helpful for mental health. I just wish I could get a refund. Otherwise it is the best tracking app I’ve found but I don’t think the AI scan is extremely reliable but it is so helpful when it works.

THE best tracking app plus free month. I have tried nearly every calorie tracker in the App Store and this one is hands down the absolute best! I am a bariatric user on my way to loosing the last part of 100lbs. This app is my greatest ally in tracking everything from food (huge database), my custom recipes , just about any micro and macro nutrients, BMI, BMR, fat and muscle mass, steps, distance, weight loss of course, a day timeline, measurements and then some. You can customize your dashboard and set reminders. The support is FABULOUS! I pinged them to find a way to test drive the app for a bit for free before I bought it and they gave me a full month free, and resounded within minutes of my email. Try it - it’s really that good!!! Also, there are way more features than I can hit on, but I doubt you’d be disappointed. And no, I’m not affiliated with the app. It’s really just a fantasy product. Bariatric users, try this. Better than Baritastic, LooseIt, Noom and WW put together.

The Best One Yet, don’t bother with FitnessPal!. I’ve used so many nutrition trackers. This one for being free to use is incredible! My favorite aspects is it is so user-friendly. I love the interface, logging items with a couple pushes of a button, and the option to have step tracking on or off, as well as changing you calorie count based on your activity level. You can log calories exactly how you want, which I like since step counting generally estimates high on calories burned, so I like to add or subtract calories myself for more accuracy. Aside from all those great things I mentioned, there are many free meal ideas, you can browse foods based on specific things missing from your idea, and my FAVORITE FEATURE? Scanning with a barcode. Every other app makes you pay a subscription upwards of $60-$150 a year to scan a barcode… Cmon, really? You’re referencing barcodes on google’s database, why are you making people pay for that? Really scummy. But not this app, this app is CHIEF. I love that the app really encourages you and allows you to change your goals at any time, but also it makes it really engaging and you get notified any time you hit a milestone. My wife and I have really enjoyed this app, and we’re actually having a lot of fun with it! More fun than I’ve ever had dieting before. Don’t wait, there’s no right day to start making healthier choices and eating better, and please do! Even if you start out just logging calories, at least you’ll start making more informed decisions on what you eat. You have only pounds to lose, and energy to gain!

You Have to Pay to See Sugar Content. This app is very good for food tracking — it’s intuitive and simple, while also having many features due to the design (with the Home Screen being where you input your food, and a side menu for other features I enjoy like progress photos). The only negative side to this app is that you can’t see your sugar intake unless you pay for the subscription; I don’t have money to spend on subscriptions, but I am monitoring my sugar intake. I feel that you should be able to see your sugar intake given the rise in conditions such as diabetes and the amount of sugar in various foods. I feel that seeing sugar is just as important as things like fats, fibers, calcium, and sodium that you can see without premium. Honestly, I’d be content if calcium were swapped for sugar. Instead of being able to see sugar in the app, I go to the apple health app which gives me my total sugar for the day (not as good as being able to see it in the app, though).

I Never Write Reviews. First app I’ve ever written a review for because I honestly love it. If you are someone who has struggled in your relationship with food, then this review is for you! (Maybe). This app has helped me in so many ways. I’ve struggled in my relationship with food my whole life and this app has helped me change my eating patterns/ habits and has brought a whole new awareness to the relationship. It feels like my brain is in the process of rewiring as my eating habits become more consistent and as I bring awareness to them. I love how customizable everything is, and it is easy to change your weight plan anytime - whether you want to gain more, lose more, or stay where you’re at. I also have less guilt around binge eating as I am encouraged by my good days. It has brought awareness to the days where I binge or skip meals. I then reflect on my mental state, what I’m going through currently, etc. and am more easily able to give myself grace rather than jump right to guilt - rewiring! I know that not everyone is using this app for that purpose, but if you are someone who has struggled in your relationship with food I HIGHLY recommend this app. I bought a kitchen scale to make recording more accurate and I’m a weirdo so I’m finding that part to be very fun. I LOVE all the different tools and what you can add to your home screen. I have never tracked micros because I used to think that was just for body builders but omg it has changed my life! Those are customizable as well! There are also all kinds of hints, encouragements, recipe suggestions, etc. So much!! I have never been very successful in trying to lose weight. This is the first tool I’ve used that has EVER worked. Definitely talk to your doctors and mental health professionals before using this app if you have any physical or mental health concerns. I do have a history of disordered eating, but this app at this stage of my life and my healing process has been a godsend + it’s so fun. Be well <3

Pretty good but be cautious. So I’ve been wanting to lose weight and I find this app is pretty helpful with letting me know what foods are good and keeping me on track calorie wise. I initially downloaded this app to make sure I eat enough in a day because I am more likely to eat the base amount of calories if I’m keeping track. I like how it lets you know your caffeine intake, it can link up to your steps, and lets you know how much trans fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol you are in taking. However, if you have ever had and ED or are struggling with one, I would be cautious with downloading this. It gives you grades based on the food you eat which inherently isn’t bad, but because ED’s are very competitive, it could become dangerous. It also congratulates you if you don’t eat all the set amount of calories for the day, which is incredibly dangerous in my opinion and the reason why I am writing this review. So all in all, I don’t think it’s a bad app, but if you are struggling with an ED, maybe don’t get this app.

Best Calorie App Out There. I’ve never written a review, but this app is just too good. It can help so many people in sticking to their goals. I’m trying to gain some weight and so far, it has done a great job in making sure I go above the amount of calories needed. I have seen improvements in just less than a week even, after having this app for only 2 1/2weeks. And it can tell me when on the exact date I will hit my goal. This app has also given me a food plan specifically for me, and has been able to tell me what I may be eating too much of or too little of. For example, my foods have consisted of not as much protein and too much sodium. I am able to see what foods do that and try healthier meals of change up my meal plan. The app has a ton more than I just stated so definitely try this app and it could change your life. *Also, this is all without any subscription or premium offer, so definitely try it out*

Easy Food Entry. There are a lot of good apps for tracking calories and macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat), so the choice ultimately comes down to which interface works best for a particular person. I have tried a number of these apps, and for me MyNetDiary is the one that is sticking, primarily because of the ease of entering different foods and custom serving sizes. Searching for new foods is easier than in some other apps, and it is very easy to switch quantities as needed. Essentially all foods can be calculated in grams and ounces (great if you use a food scale). All the units are listed as a table, rather than a scroll wheel, which means you can easily see the options and select the one you want with a single tap. Foods can be easily added to a favorites list, past meals can be copied easily, and recent items can also be easily viewed and added to a meal. The interface is very customizable. I was able to easily add macronutrients to my items. (Many apps have this as a premium-only feature). The app does have a very annoying “food rating”, which thankfully can be turned off in settings. I urge the developers to turn this off by default. While it can be helpful for some people, I don’t want to be judged for every item I eat. If I eat some jelly beans for low blood sugar (I have Type 1 diabetes), I don’t want the app to tell me that they are bad for me — in that particular moment, they are among the best things I can eat. And honestly, why is a banana an “A-“? Overall this is a very easy app to use. If you are trying out calorie counting apps, this is a good one to start with.

Use this for weight control and healthy habits. I didn’t realize how much I was eating in a day. But when you put it out on the screen, you see it. It’s there, right in front of you. And you’re able to tell yourself to either limit it or give yourself more. In my case, I wanted to lose those 10 extra pounds. I’ve had the app for nearly a month now and I’ve already lost 8! Pair this with an everyday walk and some squats(or just good plain exercise) and you should have a noticeable difference! The app itself has nice design. It’s easy to use and you’re able to track all meals throughout the day + water intake!!! I have much healthier habits due to it. I also like that you can set a weight goal and you get a graph in order to track your progress. Super motivational! Another plus is that you can see previous days and what you’ve eaten in the past. All around great app! Thank you to the developers. :)

I’m a beyond happy seven year user!. I’ve had this app since 2015 and its so useful! Stop wasting your time with other apps, you have everything you need in one. They’re doing updates every few days and my favorite thing about the updates is when one occurs, the next time you use the app, you’ll get a screen which pops up and explains to you what they have updated, fixed or if they added something new. My favorite features would have to be the Home Screen widget and the fact it’s compatible with my Apple Watch. It even has its own face you can apply and is fully customizable. I chose to be shown my water intake, activity and current/remaining calories for the day. I love it because you can quickly look at your watch and see your progress and also input new data without having to go on the app on your phone. Overall, it’s a great app and I don’t know why it took me seven years to give it a review!

Outstanding in so many ways. Like others, I have tried a variety of tracking apps but this by far surpasses anything I have used. It is fun, visually appealing, intuitive, and has every feature I need. I no longer use Fasting as a tool but I could see where including it with this app would be an upside. As smart as these developers are I’m sure they could find a way. One feature I really like is the ability to write myself a note for a future date. On days where I know I will be eating out and need to give myself an extra peptalk I can have the note waiting for me on that particular day. This is good for vacation, weekends, and special occasions. I have found that this positive self talk makes a difference. I also love the way that exercise integrates with the calorie counting. It has inspired me to take that extra spin around the park on numerous occasions. Just a big thank you to the developers for their persistence in coming up with a really good tool.

AI Coach is dangerous. AI Coach is dangerous and very unhealthy. One week I lost 4lbs and it LOWERED my calories from 1300 to 1078! This week I’ve lost 1lb and said my calorie intake would have to be 748 to lose weight and it turned itself off. If someone is not in tune or common sense to actually eat more, this is extremely dangerous. It also tells me “you’ve been fasting, it’s missing food entries, please log your food now. I’ve opened a ticket a week ago with no response. Response on your answer: my goal was only set to 1.5 lbs a week, I kept losing weight and AI kept lowering my calorie budget even more every check-in. I’d already declined going from 1300 to 1078 because that was already way too little calories. Then I lost 1lb more the next week (by eating more calories actually around 1400 or so) and AI said I’d need to lower my budget to only 748 calories!! I didn’t set an unrealistic goal, your AI tool gave dangerously low calories when I was eating double the calories and losing 1lb a week. Stop making excuses about my settings or expectations being wrong and look into your own tool. AI is dangerously inaccurate. I stopped using the app completely because of this.

Great App. I’ve used the free version of this App off and on for a year or two and it’s very helpful for me. Initially I just used it, plus my cheap food scale, to count calories so I can drop weight to pass my semi-annual physical training tests for the military. I would carry myself anywhere up to 20 pounds over the limit sometimes (not muscle lol). Start a month or two out and bam! Good to go. Now I use it for a bit more. The calorie counting is great, but it’s helped me learn a lot about food and to make better decisions. For the last few months I’ve been transitioning from vegetarian to vegan, and it sure helps. Basically, I’m at the point now I can plan my entire days food out to ensure I’m at my calorie goal and getting all the appropriate nutrients. I’ve never used another food App so I don’t have anything to compare against, but I like this one so I don’t see a reason to switch. This is definitely a useful tool and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an App.

edit: ONE STAR.

Absolutely the BEST diet app. Don’t let my title fool you; I have been using this app for almost 5 years and can confidently say it is the best dieting tool on the market. It has a massive database with nearly every food, barcode, and recipe in the world, and it easily tracks your workouts if you have a compatible watch (though manual entry is just as simple). You can set up your own macros and calories or try out their wide variety of diet plans. The results speak for themselves. I was 300 lbs (136 kg) before I started using this app, and within a single year of consistent diet and exercise, I dropped to a comfortable 190 lbs (86 kg). The price for premium is very reasonable, but the referral program is the real winner—if you refer enough people, you can get premium for free forever! One quick heads-up: the new AI meal scanner still needs some work, so I'd recommend sticking to the manual database for the best accuracy. This is truly a life-changing tool!

Came for the free scanner, stayed and upgraded because this app is awesome!. Used MFP for almost a decade, even payed for premium a few years (not really worth the $80 in my opinion). Once they got rid of free scanning it just became tedious, even though I already had so many saved foods and recipes. A random Reddit recommend sent me to find MND and I was so impressed by all the information, charts, detailed explanations and all the free bells and whistles. Loved being able to scan for free again! After only a month of using the free version, I decided to take advantage of a discount and upgraded for the recipe importing (which wasn’t super necessary, as scanning ingredients makes easy work of creating recipes [one of my annoyances with MFP after free scanning was removed]), and for less than half the price of MFP! Will never go back. No app is perfect but I tried a few before this one (including LoseIt!) and this one is the best IMO!

Good and not so good. I subscribed to the premium version for a month. I like the interface, look, and functionality. What annoyed me was the prompts that I was not losing weight fast enough. I was looking to lose less than 7 pounds in one month. So I was initially allotted 1104 calories per day. Which is quite low, but I can understand the calculations behind the number. Since my weight loss wasn’t fast enough to hit the targeted end goal it would tell me that I wasn’t losing fast enough (I think it was fairly obvious) and prompting me to eat less. I was already at 1104 calories. Any less and I would’ve started to gnaw on my arm to satisfy my hunger. And, I was pretty much following the calorie limits to a T. I’m a woman, going through menopause, so my weight loss journey has not been as easy as it was in the past. It is very discouraging to be met with discouraging messages vs oh, I don’t know, something like—-“you didn’t meet your goal but you still lost X amount of weight, good going”. I decided to extend my goal date to stop receiving the annoying prompts that I was falling behind in my weight loss journey (thanks for the encouragement, BTW). And the app automatically increased my calorie allowance to over 1300 calories per day. When I went back in and manually changed it back to 1104 it told me eating less than 1200 calories per day is not recommended.🤔 So the app will auto-calculate a daily calorie limit under 1200 but will warn you that eating less than 1200 calories per day is not advised? So, yes, the app is great at helping you to track calories and exercise. It is not great at supporting someone over the lonely weight loss process. When everyone around you is eating whatever they want and you’re sticking to your diet the last thing you want is your food tracking app telling you that you aren’t meeting your goals and showing your “deficits”.

Best Tracking App. I’ve used quite a few calorie counting apps over the years and this one is by far the best one. I’m sure the other apps are trying to improve all the time. But MND had everything I needed right now when I needed it. My favorite thing about MND is the search. Almost everything I eat is in there. The AI photo button isn’t too bad. I’m sure that it will improve as time goes on. I tend to add more calories on top of what it estimates I am eating because it has a tendency to give me a low calorie count. But as long as the app has items from H-E-B grocery store in Texas and national brands like Walmart and Target then that’s all I need in order to be able to track my meal and keep it moving. I don’t want to be in the app constantly trying to make whatever entries they have work with what I am currently eating. I just want accurate calories filled in and to be left alone lol. Any more than that and I’m uninstalling. I don’t know if that helps anyone else but it’s an incredible help for me.

It was great. Until it wasn’t.. I’m 14 years old and never have been proud of my weight. I’m heavy and was always so insecure. I downloaded this during a breakdown about my weight. I stuck to it for almost a year and a half, it never changed anything. I lost maybe 2 pounds, and that was when I was starving myself. This app made me ADDICTED to counting calories. So bad that it made me develop an ED. Restrictive calorie intake disorder, to be exact. I felt sick if I went even a little bit over. I became addicted. This became my most used app. I would stare at the numbers for hours, crying about how it as fat and how it was my fault. It’s not. It’s genetics and slow metabolism. It got to a point where I skipped meals and started calling myself “fattie” in the notes. I understand that this was my own fault, but if you are insecure of your weight, this isn’t the app for you. It’s going to make you feel so much worse. Please know that you’re beautiful as you are and don’t need some stupid app telling you if you’re fat or not. As long as you’re healthy, the number on the scale, or on your app, doesn’t matter.

An actual helpful diet app. I absolutely love this app. About 3 months ago I had a hiatal hernia repair surgery. Weighing in about 230 lbs the day of the procedure and then the actual 6 weeks of healing (only doing a clear diet and pudding takes the weight off for sure) I got down to 215. About a month out after the procedure when I was able to begin eating again the weight started to come back. It was then I said, “No we have got to get this weight off.” I came across this app and I have used it the last two months and now I am down to 201. The calories deficit has helped me tremendously and I only eat foods that are graded as an A or B. Yes I do cheat and eat carbs galore, but I stay within my allotted calories. This app has really helped me stay on track and meet my goals. I am very glad that I came across it. Super simple to use and I love that I can scan barcodes to see if an item is good for me or not.

If you are honest in recording it works.. I have used the my net diary for over 5 years. It has improved ease of recording, accuracy of recording and printing out those records as needed. The ease of copying meals to another group is fantastic. I have not synced it to a Fitbit or similar device because the search for exercises is so easy. I swim almost every day but my routine does change. Excercise search has a wide range routines, locations ( ie. lake, pool, intensity etc.). It makes it easier to just select routine and duration. I don’t want wear an expensive device in some of the environments so it would be off my wrist too much. Food tracking is really easy. Scan barcode, input your recipes with measurements and it calculates, calories, carbs and other nutrition values that have been selected. I have not used it but you take a photo of your plate and submit it. You get back a nutritional listing of the plate. I would and have recommended this app to my friends.

Effective!!. I’ve used this app on two different weight loss journeys and saw results every time!! I lost 10 lbs the first time, then nearly 20 lbs the next, both in less than 3 months. I like it because it uses math calculations to predict your weight loss trends and when you might reach your goal. It’s not 100% accurate, as other factors affect your weight apart from calorie intake, but I would say it’s in the 90’s range from my experience — consistency and accuracy are definitely key to seeing results in your desired timeline. It also track different nutrients, allows to log exercise as calories burned, and provides you with a large library of healthy recipes, so you don’t feel limited in what you eat while you make this lifestyle change. Iv’e never written a review before, but I had to for this app, it’s helped me so much. I highly recommend if you’re type A like me and want to know what to expect while trying to lose weight.

BEST APP. This is by far the best app to track your nutrition on. It is very informative on what your eating and areas that you need to improve on in your diet. I look forward to using this app everyday to see how much positive changes I can make for myself. The layout of the app is really easy to use and makes me hold myself accountable. It has also taught me so much on nutrition and what I really am consuming. Before using this app I thought I was eating really healthy and getting all nutrients I need and turns out i needed a lot of work to improve my diet to up my proteins and carbs. Since using this app I feel better and have more energy through out the day since I am now catering my meals to my bodies needs and can tell exactly what I need to add more in to feel better through out the day. I have also been able to loose a decent amount of weight using this app!! I HIGHLY recommend this app. It is by far the best one out there!!

Seems good but…. The community is active, there are a ton of recipes, you can customize your goals, etc. and so far it seems like a nice app—just a couple of problems: 1) basic features are locked behind premium (fasting timer, choosing your preferred diet, etc.) with no labeling stating they’re premium until you’ve already gone through the trouble of configuring the feature, and 2) the filter in the recipes absolutely does not work. Tried looking for recipes with a max of 200 calories and there were multiple that were way over. Why have a min/max search function if it isn’t going to work? Quite disheartening to think I had so many options for healthy food only to realize I’d have to check EVERY SINGLE RECIPE to find the ones in my preferred range. EDIT 4/10: tried multiple different parameters as well. Calorie filter isn’t the only one that doesn’t work. Literally none of the calorie/fat/carbs/protein per serving functions work. The only functions that even remotely seem to work are the meal/culture filters. Guess I’ll just have to keep googling recipes because I have better things to do than get every recipe that doesn’t fit my diet shoved into my face.

Everything a diet app should be. Other diet apps I’ve tried are laughable compared to MyNetDiary. Underneath the simple, clear dashboard is a beautifully constructed database to help you understand EVERYTHING about your diet and your progress losing weight. Logging the foods you eat is super easy, in so many different ways—by typing in the name, by selecting from the list of recent foods, by scanning the barcode, by swiping across to copy a meal that is the same as the day before—they’ve thought of everything and made it all as easy as possible. The nutrients in all your basic groceries are there in addition to thousands of packaged foods, and the database is constantly expanding, as every user can scan barcodes or manually key in nutrients of purchased foods to add them to the app. So in addition to logging calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber, you can follow all the micronutrients—all the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that contribute to keeping you healthy, including ones I never thought about—copper, selenium, and many others. It’s really fascinating to review the nutrients of your day’s meals and see exactly which ones provided which nutrients, and then you can use this information to round out what you’re missing. For example, the other evening I saw I was low on Vitamin C. I ate a few mandarin oranges that were in the fridge—presto, when I logged those in the app, it immediately showed I had reached my daily quotient of C! There are also how-to tips and videos, really well done. MyNetDiary accommodates different diets, so it has advice tailored to your preferences and lifestyle. And the app is constantly maintained and improved. These people take their app seriously! The previous time I had to lose weight, a few years ago, I used the free app, and it was great. This time I decided to go for the upgrade, and that gives some added benefits I appreciate—for one thing, it will automatically adjust my daily calories depending on my progress losing weight.

Game changer!. This app is a game changer! I’m using the free version. I’ve used many other free apps in the past. This one is my favorite. It always works. It’s simple to log food. The scanner is fantastic. I’ve never scanned anything that it couldn’t find. After you have used it for a while, it gets even easier because most of the foods you eat have already been logged. It takes the guesswork out of counting calories and many other nutritional facts. On days that I forget to log my food, I tend to overeat because I don’t realize how many calories I’m consuming. On days I log my food, (Which is most days) I get to see how quickly those calories are adding up and I know I need to be careful for the rest of the day. If you aren’t using something to keep track of what you’re eating, you’re probably eating too much. If you’re looking for an app to track your food and weight and much more, I highly recommend this one.

Going against the grain I guess…. I’m actually using the app to try to gain weight- I began losing weight without knowing why and I was worried about it. Turns out I wasn’t eating as much as I thought I was. I know I won’t find a lot of sympathy here, but it is a legitimate health concern. I have not found the app to be intuitive at all. How can I look up all the dates I’ve weighed myself? What if I don’t want your calculations and projections, but raw data? Creating and saving my own recipes was easy and the interface looks great. But MANY of the calories for pre-made foods I scan are different from what is on the pkg, sometimes by a lot. There is a way to send in corrections, but I don’t want to be doing that every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Most importantly, I am continuing to lose, even though I’m hitting the calorie goals the app set for me. (I’m going to make an appointment with a doctor). But it calls into question the accuracy of the whole app for me. Obviously it is helping a lot of people with weight loss, which is great. But this is just not the app for me.

Paid features need to be clearly marked. The free version is pretty useful besides the frequent Premium offer pop-ups. Problem is, all functions that require Premium subscription are listed on the screen along with free functions and are not clearly marked as Premium. For example, in your tools there’s an option for intermittent fasting, but you only find out it’s a Premium function after you’ve gone halfway through the setup. I consider this baiting and thus dishonest towards the users. Premium functions must either be placed in a separate menu, or marked somehow (different color perhaps) so people wouldn’t lose time exploring the stuff they are not going to use due to the payment requirement. I only use these apps for short periods of time, 2-3 months, I don’t need a yearly subscription. If there were an option to pay per day of use, say 10c/day, that would be plenty reasonable. As is, it just doesn’t make sense for me to purchase the Premium. Will consider less intrusive and more transparent apps for my next round of dieting.
